It is extremely important to build you brand loyalty in this industry, whether it s through rewards
programs or unique dine in experiences, it can make or break your business. Panera Bread
Company will need to make sure that it implements a strategic strategy that separates itself from
its competitors and provides a supreme food quality and dining experience. TO: Ron Saich
FROM: Subject 3 5 Year Plan Recommendation 1: Expand the Panera Brand both Nationally amp;
Globally Panera Bread Company is not reaching its full potential when it comes to their need to
expand into new unchartered markets. By expanding both nationally and globally they will be
able to more readily compete with the likes of a Starbucks who has over 17,000 stores across the
globe. Panera needs to become the place that people want to get their coffee and baked goods
from, an area that Starbucks currently rules in the market place. Panera also does not have any
global presence, by utilizing different continents such as Europe and Asia they should be able to
bring their brand from a more local/national brand to a more global one, increasing revenue along
the way. In doing this they should begin testing new menu items that would attract customers of
different cultures. Recommendation 2: Expanding the Current Menu Panera Bread Company
should open itself up to the idea of serving alcohol at each and every one of its stores. In order to

Effects Of Obesity On The Food Industry
1. Introduction
1.1. Motivation Air Filled Emulsions
Obesity is one of the biggest evils of society nowadays and it is a result of sedentary lifestyle
combined with unbalanced eating habits (Tchuenbou Magaia, 2011). The dissemination of chronic
diseases caused by it, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and some types of cancer, requires
an urgent need to reduce dietary fat (Tchuenbou Magaia, 2009). Also, the reluctance of the public to
change their eating habits impedes the problem resolution. An essential approach to this problem
that the food industry have been looking can be the elaboration and production of low fat products
that resemble the full fat versions according to sensory behaviour, taste and perceived indulgence
(Norton, Moore, Fryer, 2007). Air bubbles designated to act like oil droplets in terms of size and
physical properties is an alternative to the low fat food production (Tchuenbou Magaia, 2009).
Some findings strengthen that approach, like the contribution of microbubbles for the improvement
of a range of desirable properties, including texture, digestibility and flavour intensity (Campbell,
Webb, Pondiella, Niranjan,, 1999; Kilcast Clegg, 2002; Lau Dickinson, 2005; Wildmoser,
Scheiwiller, Windhab, 2004), that are essential during processing of some aliments like ice cream
and whipped cream. Microbubbles can facilitate mastication and promote enzyme accessibility and
enhance flavour delivery (Tchuenbou Magaia, 2011). Nevertheless,

Renewable Energy Is An Energy
INTRODUCTION:
Renewable energy is an energy that is generated from natural resources such as sunlight, rain,
wind, tides and geothermal heat that are renewable (not be depleted when used). In the year 2008,
at about 19% of the total global energy consumed came from the renewable energy sources and
with 13% coming from traditional biomass and 3.2% from the hydroelectricity. New renewable
energy sources such as small hydro, modern biomass, solar, geothermal, wind and some bio fuels
have accounted for another 3% and these are growing rapidly. The renewable share in electricity
generation is 18% and the 18% comprises of 15% of hydroelectricity and the rest 3% from new
renewable energy sources.
In the renewable energy sources, Wind power is growing at a rate of 30% annually, the capacity
of wind power installed worldwide is 158 GW in 2009 which is widely used in Europe, Asia and
the United States. By the end of 2009, PV (Photovoltaic) installations surpassed 21 GW and
photovoltaic power stations are most popular in Germany and Spain and solar thermal power
stations are operated in US and Spain, the largest of these have the capacity of 354 MW. Largest
geothermal power station installed in the world is The Geysers in California with a rated
capacity of 750 MW. Brazil has one of the largest renewable energy programs in the world that
involves production of ethanol fuel from sugar cane. Now 18% of the country s automotive fuel is

Education, the foundation of our society and one of the major industries in the United States.
Through the diverse amount of views on postsecondary education there have been major debates on
whether college is even worth attending. As small children you are often brought up to think of
college as the ideal place for you to go after high school, without hearing the other large array of
options, including enlisting in the military, and going straight into the workforce. However, does
this mean that college is not worth going to? No, for many individuals it is the ideal place to learn,

Haille Selassie Haile Selassie was an emperor of Ethiopia whose influence as an African leader
far surpassed the boundaries of his country. Although his popularity declined near the end of his
sixty year reign, Selassie remains a key figure in turning Ethiopia into a modern civilization. In
1931 Selassie began to develop a written constitution (a system of basic laws of a country) to
symbolize his interest in modernization and intention to increase the power of the African
government, Haile Selassie s efforts were cut short, however, when Benito Mussolini s Italian army

Hirohito became emperor when his father died in 1926. The emperor was regarded as divine by
many Japanese. In reality he had little power, with civilian and increasingly military officials
deciding national policy. He reluctantly supported the invasion of Manchuria and the war
against China, and attempted to encourage cooperation with Britain and the USA. However, he
had no choice but to approve the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor that led to war between Japan
and the United States in December 1941. Despite his lack of enthusiasm over the decision to go
to war, he was pleased with the Japanese military and naval successes that followed. He
frequently appeared in military uniform to raise morale. By the spring of 1945, the defeat of
Japan seemed imminent. The Japanese government was deeply divided between military leaders
who favoured continuing the war and civilians who wanted to negotiate for peace. Hirohito
appears to have favoured peace. Following the atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki,
Hirohito insisted that Japan surrender. On 15 August 1945, he made a radio broadcast
announcing the end of the war this was the first time the people of Japan had heard the voice of
their emperor. Some Allied leaders wanted to try Hirohito as a war criminal. General Douglas
MacArthur, who was in charge of the United States occupying forces in Japan, felt it would be
easier to introduce democratic reforms if Hirohito

Q1.name And Describe The Two Dominant Opposing Approaches
Q1.Name and describe the two dominant opposing approaches to copyright:
Copyright is the legal right, to an inventor to perform, print, publish, film, or record artistic,
literary, or musical material, and to allow others to do the same. Copyright law was developed to
provide the creators and inventors of any works with powerful and effective rights of exclusivity
over their creations (Patterson Lindberg, 1991). Over the past, these rights were almost unlimited.
People would use existing developments as if they were their own without any regard of the
creator s exclusive rights. The need to balance and limit such rights arose, and governments
established these limits for the general good of the public.
One of the main opposing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this digital age, however, the internet has provided opportunities allowing the public to share
information directly. For this reason, it has brought about many controversies, and it is considered
a break of the fair use exception. People can freely share files and videos over the internet
(Doctorow, 2006).
The second approach to copyright is the democratic approach. All works of art are ideas built on a
foundation of other ideas. The democratic approach advocates that intellectual property belongs to
the society and should be available for the general good of the public. If the particular usage is
intended to derive financial benefit or any other business related benefits, it is considered
inappropriate usage. If the utilization of factual work were more usable than the use of someone
s creative work, then that would not be fair use. There is no specified edge to the amount of
quoted work that can be called fair use. The courts exercise common sense to determine if it was
too much. If the utilization of the material created market or stirred a competition, and if the fair
use diminishes demand for the original product, it is not considered as appropriate use (Crews,
1993).
Q2. How can a propertarian approach to copyright conflict with fair use?
Copyright laws have not evolved much with

The Lottery, And Mansfield s Third Person Perspectives
A story is never without a point of view a perspective in which the story is foretold. This
perspective can come in a variety of forms, from first person, second person, to third person, with
each shaping the specifics and details of the background or characters of the tale. Further broken
down into three categories is the third person perspective, which ranges from omniscient,
objective, to limited. To understand the impact the differences in third person perspectives can
make on a story and the reader s understanding of it, a closer look at the readings of Jackson s The
Lottery in third person objective and Mansfield s Miss Brill in third person omniscient is in order.
Overall, there s a similarity between the two perspectives in how they capture and convey obvious
information within the story. However, the distinct disparity between the two becomes rather
apparent as the actions of the characters become focused upon. Jackson, The Lottery. Third Person,
Objective. Kids receive rocks. Mansfield, Miss Brill. Third Person, Omniscient. Drawing
conclusions of individuals around her. Insight to her thoughts. Fundamentally, both the third person
objective and third person omniscient have the ability to describe the actions and outward
appearances of characters either known or unknown to the protagonist. In the story of Miss Brill,
the readers are presented an imagery of an everyday Sunday morning through the description and

Ozone Pollution Essay
The Effects of Ozone Pollution
The term ozone has appeared in numerous magazine and newspaper articles and has been a subject
of discussion on both radio and television. Despite all the publicity surrounding this term, however,
many people are still confused by it. The confusion arises from the fact that ozone is both beneficial
and harmful. We know that the ozone layer in the upper atmosphereacts as a filter for the sun s
ultraviolet rays, reducing the amount of radiation that reaches the earth s surface. At ground level,
though, high concentrations of ozone can be harmful.
The Ozone Layer
Ozone gas forms a layer all around the earth high in the stratosphere. It serves as a vital and
effective protective barrier from the sun s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When levels are high, people at risk should take simple precautions:
Stay indoors as much as possible.
Limit outside activities to the early morning hours or after sunset. Ozone levels tend to go down
with the sun.
Refrain from exercising or working vigorously outdoors when levels are high.
Stay away from high traffic areas, and avoid exercising near these areas at all times.
Carpool or use public transportation to help reduce the amount of harmful emissions in the air that
contribute to the production of ozone.
Avoid using gasoline powered lawn equipment or other gasoline powered tools.
Big Differences
The distinction between the two ozone issues В— the beneficial ozone layer versus ozone pollution
В— is extreme. The ozone layer in the stratosphere needs to be protected. By the same token, ozone
produced by the effects of sunlight on air pollutants must be reduced.
Controlling air pollution will help solve both of these problems, thereby benefiting our health and

Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. (Luke 24:44) Jesus reinterpreted Jewish symbols and re

(Acts 7)
The Tabernacle and the Temple Christians argue that even the Tabernacle of Moses and the
Temple of Solomon testify about Christ. The author of the book of Hebrews tells us why God s
patterns for the Tabernacle were so precise and specific: Therefore it was necessary for the
copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves
with better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere
copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us
(Hebrews 9:23 24). The Tabernacle is a partial reflection of heaven. Evangelist and author,
Theodore Epp, illustrates in his book, Portraits of Christ in the Tabernacle, that every single
item and area in the Tabernacle foreshadowed Christian truths. He bases several connections on
the structure of the temple. The open Outer Court, the semi restricted Holy Place, and the
exclusive Holy of Holies are compared to man s body, soul, and spirit; Jesus claim to be the
Way, the Truth, and the Life; and the system by which one comes to approach God. (10 21) One
should consider God s intent for the Tabernacle in the first place: Let them construct a sanctuary
for Me, that I may dwell among them (Exodus 25:8) The purpose of the Tabernacle was so that
God may have a place to dwell among His people. God could not dwell with His people unless their
sins were atoned for. The

Comparison Between Critical Thinking And Clinical Reasoning
Critical Thinking vs Clinical Reasoning
Critical thinking and clinical reasoning are two terms that are similar in natural and at times have
been used inter changeably throughout nursing literature. However, while there are similarities that
can be observed when examining these two terms they are also uniquely different and should be
treated as such. While many definitions of critical thinking exist The American Philosophical
Association (APA) has defined critical thinking as purposeful, self regulatory judgment that uses
cognitive tools such as interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation of the
evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations on which
judgment is based (American Philosophical Association, 1990). Much like critical thinking,
multiple definitions exist for clinical reasoning. While numerous definitions may indeed exist a
clear and precise definition has not yet been found within nursing literature (Simmons, 2010, p.
1151). According to Dr. Simmons, clinical reasoning within nursing is defined as a complex
cognitive process that uses formal and informal thinking strategies to gather and analyze patient
information, evaluate the significance of this information and weigh alternative actions (Simmons,
2010, p. 1155). As mentioned above similarities between critical thinking and clinical reasoning
exist and quite often the term are used interchangeably within nursing literature (Simmons,

thing that this test pointed out is that I enjoy working with groups and that I am a people person. I

Theranos Inc. (Theranos or the Company) is a privately held health technology company based
in Palo Alto, California. The Company is well known for the marketing effort on the blood tests
technology. Ms. Holmes, founder and CEO of Theranos, became a youngest self made female
billionaire in the world due to a $9 billion valuation of Theranos in 2015. However, in 2016, the

Section 83 (b) is only permissible for AMT purposes but not ordinary income tax purposes. 1 (IRS
gave the final ISO regulations in 2004. 2) With the early exercise option, Ms. Holmes would receive
back restricted stocks with the same vesting schedule as the original option. If Ms. Holmes
meets both ISO holding periods, she will pay tax on the entire spread between the sale price and
the exercise as long term capital gain. If a disqualifying disposition occurs, by making the election
of Section 83 (b) within 30 days following exercise, Ms. Holmes would benefit from reducing AMT
income.
However, Ms. Holmes still has a risk of losing money if she exercised the ISO early and the
stock price decreases. Smart as Ms. Holmes is, she set up an agreement with the Company to
exercise the options without having to pay upfront. When the stock price goes down, Ms. Holmes
can simply return the shares. By doing so, Ms. Holmes successfully avoids the risk from the
declining of the stock price.
In conclusion, Ms. Holmes was trying to reduce the tax obligation when the stock price goes up
and to avoid loss when the stock price goes down.
Issue:
What are the accounting implications of this transaction?
Analysis and Conclusion:
The Company issued Ms. Holmes ISOs. ISOs ordinarily do not result in a tax deduction for

The participants chosen for the study, however, comprised of 102 individuals with a larger
majority of females as opposed to males. The age range had been set between the ranges of 17 to
58 years with varying degrees of educational achievements.
The results that were obtained indicated that extraversion (a first order trait) had played a key
role in identifying when an individual felt different while they were speaking in another
language. Where as, the other first order traits like language proficiency, age and gender were
irrelevant. Furthermore, the results had also shown that emotional intelligence (a second order
trait) played an essential role in allowing individuals to detect when they felt different. It was
concluded that since individuals who were extraverted, generally tended to be more open to new
experiences and were more sociable they therefore were able to identify the change in their
behavior and personality more adequately than for example individuals who were more
introverted. Similarly, individuals who had shown that they scored higher on the emotional
intelligence test, represented a group of people who were able to see change in their personality
since they were attuned with their emotions, such as sympathy, empathy, sociability, social
awareness, etc. As a result, it was observed that to some capacity each order played a role in
identifying how the individual felt, however, what was crucial about the study was to realize that

The role of malice in determining the level of criminal homicide will have to do with if there was
or was not malice aforethought involved with the criminal homicide. Because malice distinguished
murder and manslaughter, it was imperative for the courts to define that term. Framers of the
Model Penal Code considered malice to be so ill defined, that they abandoned the concept altogether

Learning Disabilities Acquired Dysgraphia
For as long as humans have been able to write, writing difficulties have existed. With nearly one in
five children suffering from a writing difficulty, dysgraphia is certainly not an uncommon learning
difference. The Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA) describes dysgraphia as a
learning difficulty which affects the fine motor skills required for proper hand writing (2001). This
can be seen through a variety of different symptoms and affects each person differently. When
looking for a cause for dysgraphia, the disability can be broken down into two different categories
acquired and developmental dysgraphia. Acquired dysgraphia occurs when an individual sustains

the hazards of oxygen therapy. Oxygen is a necessity for nearly all of earth s organisms (Rahman
et al, 2006). Caution should be taken with the delivery of oxygen, if not prescribed appropriately
it causes cellular damage and death. (Amanda R Knight, Lauren E Fry, 2011). Recent research
shows that oxygen administration in higher concentration are not always necessary and can
actually be damaging. It oxygen therapy is not deter mind properly, too much oxygen level causing
hypoxemia and increase in reactive oxygen sepsis. At the same way too little o2 may cause tissue

The Simpsons Tuesdays With Morrie
The writers both have incorporated ideas from the novel Tuesdays with Morrie in the shows. In
the Simpsons Homers dad Abie has become sort of like Morrie, he tells a writer his stories who
then creates articles and posts them in the newspaper. Just like Morrie many have taken a liking to
his experiences. In The Middle Mike s father in law has read Tuesdays with Morrieand has been
inspired by the book. He decides that he wants to tell Mike his stories, and have his own Tuesday

Thursdays with Abie, and the writer wants to make a book of Abies stories, after killing him. It s

Oh Brother By Richard Shone Analysis
Oh brother indeed. While in the 2011 article by Richard Shone entitled, Oh brother!, Shone argues
while the information presented by the book isn t necessarily new, the different ways in which the
authors approach the subject makes for an interesting read. Yet, Shone often contradicts his own
claims, with his diction often invalidating what he said previously, establishing credibility for the
authors then destroying it by pointing out their biases which results in an overall inconsistent,
disorganized and chaotic article. He fails to adequately address his arguments claim and his
purpose of reviewing the book, for a book review serves to either praise and persuade others to read
it or decry it and critique it for its flaws. The authorseemingly... Show more content on

Their scrupulous examination of all of the information doesn t seem overbearing and akin to
information overload, in actuality Shone states the more one reads the colossal detail adds to the
enthralling nature of the book. Shone then though skews his opinion of the authors. The once
herald authors turn quickly to detached and petty. Including the fact that the authors dislike
Gauguin, a friend of Van Gogh s, does not add relevance to the piece nor can it be proven by this
review. By including this tidbit of information he opens the authors up to critic and open bias. He
tries to recover their credibility by randomly attaching at the concluding paragraph, a red herring,
which deduces that Van Gogh was in fact not murdered. This information though does not pertain to
anything the author was talking about previously, so in turn this makes his essay seem very rushed
and ill thought out in the end. His flippant attitude towards the authors makes the book seem as
though it will be a disaster, but he claims at first that the authors are innovate and fresh in their
presentation of the information in the book. If Shone is encouraging people to read this book
going about it by bringing up the faults and obvious biases of the authors then it isn t going to
influence someone to read it. Which brings to question just exactly where does the author stand,
from reading the essay his stance is convoluted and lost in a sea of

Human Factors From United Airlines Flight 173 And Flight 232
The aviation industry has emerged to be one of the more efficient and safest way to travel across
the world. Taking in consideration that there are thousands of people that have car accidents across
the United States daily and sadly some of them end up being fatal. When an aircraft accident
happens, it is normally that followed and investigated by several government and federal agencies
in order to take all the details, human factors and determing factors that contributed to the accident.
Given that more than 70% of the aircraft accidents are caused by human error, it is important for
the FAA and the NTSB to conduct the investigation to determine if human factors were present and
to issue recommendations that will prevent more accidents from the same nature. On this case

Essay On Heteronormativity
We live in a realm of social standards. For instance, men and women are expected to be attracted to
the opposite sex. If an individual deviates from this social norm, he or she is considered to be odd
by numerous communities. Through socialization, we are taught that being heterosexual is normal.
Although being homosexual in today s society is simpler than it would be 100 years ago, it remains
a monumental challenge.
Music, movies, television shows, all educates us that an intimate relationship is assumed to be
between a man and a woman. The bible says that marriage is an institution between a man and a
woman. This culture that is created by people and institutions is called heteronormativity, or a

Job Reflection
Job a man whose name is synonymous with trials . No doubt about it, Job suffered unimaginable
loss, heartache, and anguish. In the first chapter alone, we see him lose his property, his
livelihood, and worse, all of his children. Just one of those losses alone would be a trial in of itself,
but Job lost everything in a single day!
After hearing the tragic news, we are told in Job 1:20 that he got to his feet indicating that the
weight of his loss made this godly man crumble to his knees and ripped his robe and shaved his
head (the mourning custom of his day). Then he fell to the ground and worshiped. When I read this,
I notice two very interesting details:
Job worshiped despite his grief
Job worshiped during his grief
Job, who just lost so much, was able to still worship God in defiance of his trial. Nor did he wait
until the trial was over. It is easy to worship God in the light. But in the darkness, when we can t
see and when fear and anxiety set in, worshiping God can sometimes be the furthest from our
minds. Sure we pray and ask for deliverance from the trail, but do we worship Him during the
trial? Because there is a difference.
Simply stated, prayer is communication with our Lord; while worship is honoring and adoring
Him. Prayer can sometimes be selfish because we are often asking for something, while worship
is all about the Lord. So yes, it is possible to pray without worshiping Him. Job 1:20 makes a point
to tell us that Job worshiped God. He

exhortation would have been directed toward the congregation in the liturgy, whereby they
would respond with the second part of each verse, the whole assembly telling the wondrous story

drawn from the pillars of the earth at creation, through Israel s history, to Christ s cross and

Greek Pottery Changes
No other culture has had such an important influence on western art as that which flourished in
Ancient Greece. (Herwig, 1988) Kate O Halloran agrees that a lot of what we know about
everyday life in Ancient Greece comes from Greek Pottery . (O Halloran, 1988) Greek Pottery,
particularly in terms of decoration, evolved over the centuries and was categorized into four
broad groups; however these styles did not pass abruptly from one to another and in some cases
ran side by side for decades. (Cartwright, 2013) These changes in pottery over time were impacted
by the political , economic, social changes and cultural developments of ancient Greece.

Cord Blood Case Study
Did you know that cord blood can treat over 80 medical conditions and diseases?
Cord blood refers to residual blood that s present in the placenta and umbilical cord immediately
after a baby is born. This blood can be gathered and stored to treat various types of illnesses and
medical conditions.
When harvested immediately after the birth of a baby, cord blood has a number of stem cells that
can take the form of other cell types in the body such as fat, liver, muscle, nerve, and blood cells.
Here are five types of medical conditions the harvested blood can treat.
1. Cancers

and many others.
3. Metabolic Disorders
Cord blood can be used to treat metabolic disorders such as krabbe disease and hurler syndrome,

Rajput Painting Analysis
Rajput Painting
Throughout the modules of this course we have learned about different elements of Eastern art that
give us the tools to try and understand the complexity that is Indian painting. Indian painting has
dated back many centuries, starting with paintings on pottery coming from the bronze age found in
Baluchistan 3 (17). Since this time until the 17th century (which is when the piece of art I chose),
Indian painting has progressed and developed immensely. I chose art from the Rajput era of
painting, coming from Rajasthan India. Even in the painting I chose for this assignment, you can
see the effects the culture from that time had on the Rajput style of art, in comparison with other
periods of Indian painting. Although there is little information on Rajput painting, the impact this
period had on Indian painting and its development after this period is immense.
Rajasthan India also known as Abode of Princes which contained many distinctive geographical
regions that held different Rajput states each enjoying a nominal independence when they could
escape the attentions of their more powerful neighbors 4 (131). These different states led to the
development of the different styles of Rajput art from the 17th century to the 19th century. Rajput
people lived in a culture that put a lot of emphasis on honour and bravery, their society also
expected these traits not only of men but of women as well 4 (131). The conditions that produced

Comparing Moral Theories Of Kant And J. S. Mill
Throughout this paper, I will contrast and compare two moral theories in attempt to uncover what
one provides a better argument and can be applied as a universal moral code. The two moral
theorists Immanuel Kant and J.S Mill have created two distinctly different theories on morality and
how to develop a universal moral code. Both theories focus on intentions and consequences. Kant
believes that the intentions and reasons of our actions can be measured and defined as morally
correct, where as Mill believes that our intentions really play no role in morality, and that we should
focus on the consequences and outcomes of our actions to evoke the most happiness for the most
people. Even though both philosophers make incredibly different... Show more content on

Even though Kant does acknowledge that behaviour and actions that produce a good outcome
or consequence is in fact aligned with morality, he believes if you do anything that benefits you
is wrong. As a personal example, I volunteer and produce good actions because not only do I
know it is right, or the good thing to do, but it gives me a sense of purpose. I feel good putting
people before myself. Some people will do nice things for others because it makes them feel
good as well. In my opinion, if people love to help others and act in ethically sound ways because
it gives them a feeling of approval, and the action is causing a positive consequence, that should be
moral. It should be a wonderful thing that mankind can actually have feel good chemicals run
through there body when assisting humanity. Kant should take this into consideration that if we
feel good acting in good ways, it is more likely to be sustainable.
John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham have been recognized as the founders of Utilitarianism.
Contrary to Kant s moral theories, Utilitarian s would disagree with most of Kant s theory. While
Kant believed that it is the intention of the action that should be recognized as moral or unmoral,
J.S Mill and Bentham would say that it is in fact the outcome of said action that determines morality.

nothing. Organisations such as Christian Aid and Cafod are seen as ways for Christians to help
fellow followers by dedicating a little money to help less fortunate people. This money echoes the
saying of Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself Matthew 19:19.What exactly does this mean?
By the word neighbour, we are to understand any person who is near us. The Samaritan, when he
saw the wounded man on the road to Jericho, felt that he was in his neighbourhood, and that
therefore he was his neighbour, and he was bound to love him. Love thy neighbour was, in part,
Jesus answer when the Pharisees, the chief religious sect of that day, asked Him about the
greatest commandment in the Law. These religious leaders had made almost an art form of
classifying all the various laws and giving them relative degrees of importance, so in asking
Jesus this question, their aim was to test Him. His answer stunned them: Love the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest
commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as youself . All the law and the
prophets hang on these two commands. Jesus was summing up all the law in these two statements.

Flossing Essay
If you have children, you probably know how difficult it is to get your child to do anything
related to their oral health: brushing, flossing, and dentist visits. While it may not be easy and
your child may not like it proper oral hygiene is important to their health. Once your child has
gotten the hang of brushing, it is time to introduce flossing. If you are wondering how you will get
your child to floss daily and enjoy it, use these four tips to make it happen:
1. Use the Proper Tools
There are all sorts of different tools available for flossing today. You can use a waterpik,
traditional floss, or even the handheld flossers to help your child get the hang of it. As for the floss
itself, you can use any variety that your child likes: thick, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Just like brushing, you should aim to be an example for your child. Show your child that you floss
your teeth too. You might also want to brush and floss alongside your child. It will help make the
experience more fun for your child. Plus, you can use those precious minutes for bonding.
3. Offer Rewards
If there is one thing children like, it s rewards. During the beginning of your flossing adventure,
consider offering your child a reward for good behavior or proper technique. It doesn t have to be
candy or food, you can use toys or stickers as a reward. You can also offer extended playtime,
reading, or TV time, as a reward too.
4. Start Early and Go Slow
Finally, make sure you start instilling good flossing habits early. The younger your child starts, the
better. Starting young will also ensure that they continue the habit throughout their life. In addition,
make sure start slow. Your child may not get the hang of it immediately and that s perfectly
acceptable. Show them the ropes, practice daily, and soon they will be a master at flossing.
Flossing is a crucial part of a good oral hygiene routine. It helps to remove plaque buildup and it
keeps the gums and teeth healthy. If you are trying to introduce flossing into your child s routine,
use these four tips. Additionally, make sure they are visiting a pediatric dentist on a regular

Max Webber
MAX WEBER By: JD Mojica Life and career Max Weber was born on April 21, 1864, the eldest
of seven children, and grew up in a cultured bourgeois household, ruled by a strong authoritarian
father. At University in Heidelberg, Weber studied economics, medieval history and philosophy as
well as law. A period of military service brought him under the care of his uncle, Hermann
Baumgarten, a historian, and his wife. Both uncle and aunt acted as mentors to Weber, the former

Bureaucratization Weber recognized the dangers of bureaucratization and spoke of how
measurement processes could turn people into cogs in a machine. In this, Weber s reflections are
not too distant from Marx s theories of alienation. Although organizational bureaucratization
increases efficiency and the capability for greater production that mechanical efficiency also
threatens to dehumanize its participants. Weber also believed, however, that the only way people
could make a significant contribution was to subjugate their personalities and desires to the
impersonal goals and procedures of large scale organizations. Paradoxically, Weber believed that
the only way to escape such a mechanical future was for a charismatic leader to transform the
organization into something new. Bureaucracy became the model for the twentieth century
organization, and was encapsulated in the organization of Alfred Sloan s General Motors and
Harold Geneen s ITT. Perhaps the mundanity and regularity of bureaucratic, corporate life was
best described in William Whyte s The Organization Man (1956) in which the individual was
taken over by the bureaucratic machine, in the name of efficiency. A more recent and humorous
interpretation of life in a bureaucracy has been depicted by Scott Adams in The Dilbert Principle.
The bureaucracy may have outlived its age of supremacy, but it is still hard to foresee a future

The Rights Of The United States Constitution
The United States Constitution was designed to enfranchise the white men who, in 1787, were the
only citizens included in John Locke s conception of the social contract (outlined in his Second
Treatise of Government). At this time in history, women were not invited to be free and equal, in
relation to their husbands and fathers or as citizens in the founding fathers new republic. Therefore,
the Constitution never addresses abortion, contraception, or marriage. Arguments made in laws and
court cases on these topics, specifically reproductive rights, have therefore traditionally rested on a
right to privacy the court has interpreted as being found in the first, fourth, fifth, and fourteenth
amendments to the Constitution, rather than a right to freedom from sex based discrimination
found in the nineteenth amendment. The landmark supreme court cases Griswold v. Connecticut
and Roe v. Wadewere both won on these grounds, both setting a precedent for the expansion of the
right to privacy. This protection has also been affected by the 2003 Partial Birth Abortion Ban and
the Hyde Amendment.
First off, in 1965 the supreme court ruled 7 2 in the Griswold v. Connecticut case that the state of
Connecticut s ban on contraception was unconstitutional, because it denied a married couple s right
to privacy (a right extended to unmarried individuals under the Griswold precedent in the 1972
Eisenstadt v. Baird supreme court case). This expansion of privacy in Griswold later informed Roe
v.

Symbolism Of Power In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
Trace Draper
Ms. Tantlinger
Honors English 10
2 January 2018
Power can be used for the greater good, or power can be used to advance personal agenda As
Golding s Lord of the Flies develops, power does also. When a group of boys are stranded on an
island, the boys power shifts dramatically. The boys fight for powerand savagery increases as the
time on the island increases. The island was split into groups due to Jacks fiend for power, this was
the cause of all evil on the island. Power on the island causes murder and great destruction. The
conch is a symbol for power and order, and Ralph controls the privilege of holding the power.
When Jack s character is introduced in chapter 2 he is already fighting for the power of the
conch with Ralph. The conches role was very significant in early chapters to keep the boys on
the same page but the power of the conch was quickly lost to Jacks uprising. Jack s power takes
over him and turns him into a savage creating destruction to the whole island. They painted their
faces like savages (Golding 163). Jacks way of proving himself to the rest of the island was to
kill the pig. He did this not for the food but to show his dominance. Power later leads to
destruction when Jack and his tribe kills Simon. Simon s role on the island was almost a spiritual
figure to Ralph. He was able to inform Ralph many things about the island and how it could affect
the group of boys. Jack had no remorse after the killing and made it seem

By expanding both nationally and globally they will be able to more readily compete with the likes of a Starbucks who has over 17,000 stores across the globe. • 4. Effects Of Obesity On The Food Industry 1. Introduction 1.1. Motivation Air Filled Emulsions Obesity is one of the biggest evils of society nowadays and it is a result of sedentary lifestyle combined with unbalanced eating habits (Tchuenbou Magaia, 2011). The dissemination of chronic diseases caused by it, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and some types of cancer, requires an urgent need to reduce dietary fat (Tchuenbou Magaia, 2009). Also, the reluctance of the public to change their eating habits impedes the problem resolution. An essential approach to this problem that the food industry have been looking can be the elaboration and production of low fat products that resemble the full fat versions according to sensory behaviour, taste and perceived indulgence (Norton, Moore, Fryer, 2007). Air bubbles designated to act like oil droplets in terms of size and physical properties is an alternative to the low fat food production (Tchuenbou Magaia, 2009). Some findings strengthen that approach, like the contribution of microbubbles for the improvement of a range of desirable properties, including texture, digestibility and flavour intensity (Campbell, Webb, Pondiella, Niranjan,, 1999; Kilcast Clegg, 2002; Lau Dickinson, 2005; Wildmoser, Scheiwiller, Windhab, 2004), that are essential during processing of some aliments like ice cream and whipped cream. Microbubbles can facilitate mastication and promote enzyme accessibility and enhance flavour delivery (Tchuenbou Magaia, 2011). Nevertheless, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Q1.name And Describe The Two Dominant Opposing Approaches Q1.Name and describe the two dominant opposing approaches to copyright: Copyright is the legal right, to an inventor to perform, print, publish, film, or record artistic, literary, or musical material, and to allow others to do the same. Copyright law was developed to provide the creators and inventors of any works with powerful and effective rights of exclusivity over their creations (Patterson Lindberg, 1991). Over the past, these rights were almost unlimited. People would use existing developments as if they were their own without any regard of the creator s exclusive rights. The need to balance and limit such rights arose, and governments established these limits for the general good of the public. One of the main opposing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this digital age, however, the internet has provided opportunities allowing the public to share information directly. For this reason, it has brought about many controversies, and it is considered a break of the fair use exception. People can freely share files and videos over the internet (Doctorow, 2006). The second approach to copyright is the democratic approach. All works of art are ideas built on a foundation of other ideas. The democratic approach advocates that intellectual property belongs to the society and should be available for the general good of the public. If the particular usage is intended to derive financial benefit or any other business related benefits, it is considered inappropriate usage. If the utilization of factual work were more usable than the use of someone s creative work, then that would not be fair use. There is no specified edge to the amount of quoted work that can be called fair use. The courts exercise common sense to determine if it was too much. If the utilization of the material created market or stirred a competition, and if the fair use diminishes demand for the original product, it is not considered as appropriate use (Crews, 1993). Q2. Despite all the publicity surrounding this term, however, many people are still confused by it. The confusion arises from the fact that ozone is both beneficial and harmful. We know that the ozone layer in the upper atmosphereacts as a filter for the sun s ultraviolet rays, reducing the amount of radiation that reaches the earth s surface. (Acts 7) The Tabernacle and the Temple Christians argue that even the Tabernacle of Moses and the Temple of Solomon testify about Christ. For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us (Hebrews 9:23 24). The Tabernacle is a partial reflection of heaven. Evangelist and author, Theodore Epp, illustrates in his book, Portraits of Christ in the Tabernacle, that every single item and area in the Tabernacle foreshadowed Christian truths. He bases several connections on the structure of the temple. The open Outer Court, the semi restricted Holy Place, and the exclusive Holy of Holies are compared to man s body, soul, and spirit; Jesus claim to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life; and the system by which one comes to approach God. • 12. Comparison Between Critical Thinking And Clinical Reasoning Critical Thinking vs Clinical Reasoning Critical thinking and clinical reasoning are two terms that are similar in natural and at times have been used inter changeably throughout nursing literature. However, while there are similarities that can be observed when examining these two terms they are also uniquely different and should be treated as such. While many definitions of critical thinking exist The American Philosophical Association (APA) has defined critical thinking as purposeful, self regulatory judgment that uses cognitive tools such as interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations on which judgment is based (American Philosophical Association, 1990). Much like critical thinking, multiple definitions exist for clinical reasoning. While numerous definitions may indeed exist a clear and precise definition has not yet been found within nursing literature (Simmons, 2010, p. 1151). According to Dr. Simmons, clinical reasoning within nursing is defined as a complex cognitive process that uses formal and informal thinking strategies to gather and analyze patient information, evaluate the significance of this information and weigh alternative actions (Simmons, 2010, p. 1155). As mentioned above similarities between critical thinking and clinical reasoning exist and quite often the term are used interchangeably within nursing literature (Simmons, ... The results that were obtained indicated that extraversion (a first order trait) had played a key role in identifying when an individual felt different while they were speaking in another language. Where as, the other first order traits like language proficiency, age and gender were irrelevant. Furthermore, the results had also shown that emotional intelligence (a second order trait) played an essential role in allowing individuals to detect when they felt different. It was concluded that since individuals who were extraverted, generally tended to be more open to new experiences and were more sociable they therefore were able to identify the change in their behavior and personality more adequately than for example individuals who were more introverted. Similarly, individuals who had shown that they scored higher on the emotional intelligence test, represented a group of people who were able to see change in their personality since they were attuned with their emotions, such as sympathy, empathy, sociability, social awareness, etc. As a result, it was observed that to some capacity each order played a role in identifying how the individual felt, however, what was crucial about the study was to realize that while the traits ... Although being homosexual in today s society is simpler than it would be 100 years ago, it remains a monumental challenge. Music, movies, television shows, all educates us that an intimate relationship is assumed to be between a man and a woman. The bible says that marriage is an institution between a man and a woman. Socialization, heterosexism, and heteronormativity will all have an impact on Lane s struggle of being homosexual. Heterosexism or homophobia, and heteronormativity have influenced society s outlook towards the transgendered and homosexual community. • 28. Job Reflection Job a man whose name is synonymous with trials . No doubt about it, Job suffered unimaginable loss, heartache, and anguish. In the first chapter alone, we see him lose his property, his livelihood, and worse, all of his children. Just one of those losses alone would be a trial in of itself, but Job lost everything in a single day! After hearing the tragic news, we are told in Job 1:20 that he got to his feet indicating that the weight of his loss made this godly man crumble to his knees and ripped his robe and shaved his head (the mourning custom of his day). Then he fell to the ground and worshiped. When I read this, I notice two very interesting details: Job worshiped despite his grief Job worshiped during his grief Job, who just lost so much, was able to still worship God in defiance of his trial. Nor did he wait until the trial was over. It is easy to worship God in the light. But in the darkness, when we can t see and when fear and anxiety set in, worshiping God can sometimes be the furthest from our minds. Sure we pray and ask for deliverance from the trail, but do we worship Him during the trial? Because there is a difference. Simply stated, prayer is communication with our Lord; while worship is honoring and adoring Him. Prayer can sometimes be selfish because we are often asking for something, while worship is all about the Lord. So yes, it is possible to pray without worshiping Him. Job 1:20 makes a point to tell us that Job worshiped God. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Herwig, 1988) Kate O Halloran agrees that a lot of what we know about everyday life in Ancient Greece comes from Greek Pottery . (O Halloran, 1988) Greek Pottery, particularly in terms of decoration, evolved over the centuries and was categorized into four broad groups; however these styles did not pass abruptly from one to another and in some cases ran side by side for decades. • 33. Rajput Painting Analysis Rajput Painting Throughout the modules of this course we have learned about different elements of Eastern art that give us the tools to try and understand the complexity that is Indian painting. Indian painting has dated back many centuries, starting with paintings on pottery coming from the bronze age found in Baluchistan 3 (17). Since this time until the 17th century (which is when the piece of art I chose), Indian painting has progressed and developed immensely. I chose art from the Rajput era of painting, coming from Rajasthan India. Even in the painting I chose for this assignment, you can see the effects the culture from that time had on the Rajput style of art, in comparison with other periods of Indian painting. Although there is little information on Rajput painting, the impact this period had on Indian painting and its development after this period is immense. Rajasthan India also known as Abode of Princes which contained many distinctive geographical regions that held different Rajput states each enjoying a nominal independence when they could escape the attentions of their more powerful neighbors 4 (131). These different states led to the development of the different styles of Rajput art from the 17th century to the 19th century. Rajput people lived in a culture that put a lot of emphasis on honour and bravery, their society also expected these traits not only of men but of women as well 4 (131). • 34. Comparing Moral Theories Of Kant And J. S. Mill Throughout this paper, I will contrast and compare two moral theories in attempt to uncover what one provides a better argument and can be applied as a universal moral code. The two moral theorists Immanuel Kant and J.S Mill have created two distinctly different theories on morality and how to develop a universal moral code. Both theories focus on intentions and consequences. Kant believes that the intentions and reasons of our actions can be measured and defined as morally correct, where as Mill believes that our intentions really play no role in morality, and that we should focus on the consequences and outcomes of our actions to evoke the most happiness for the most people. Even though both philosophers make incredibly different... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though Kant does acknowledge that behaviour and actions that produce a good outcome or consequence is in fact aligned with morality, he believes if you do anything that benefits you is wrong. As a personal example, I volunteer and produce good actions because not only do I know it is right, or the good thing to do, but it gives me a sense of purpose. I feel good putting people before myself. Some people will do nice things for others because it makes them feel good as well. In my opinion, if people love to help others and act in ethically sound ways because it gives them a feeling of approval, and the action is causing a positive consequence, that should be moral. It should be a wonderful thing that mankind can actually have feel good chemicals run through there body when assisting humanity. Kant should take this into consideration that if we feel good acting in good ways, it is more likely to be sustainable. John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham have been recognized as the founders of Utilitarianism. Contrary to Kant s moral theories, Utilitarian s would disagree with most of Kant s theory. While Kant believed that it is the intention of the action that should be recognized as moral or unmoral, J.S Mill and Bentham would say that it is in fact the outcome of said action that determines morality. The Samaritan, when he saw the wounded man on the road to Jericho, felt that he was in his neighbourhood, and that therefore he was his neighbour, and he was bound to love him. Love thy neighbour was, in part, Jesus answer when the Pharisees, the chief religious sect of that day, asked Him about the greatest commandment in the Law. These religious leaders had made almost an art form of classifying all the various laws and giving them relative degrees of importance, so in asking Jesus this question, their aim was to test Him. His answer stunned them: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. At University in Heidelberg, Weber studied economics, medieval history and philosophy as well as law. A period of military service brought him under the care of his uncle, Hermann Baumgarten, a historian, and his wife. Both uncle and aunt acted as mentors to Weber, the former as a liberal who treated him as an intellectual peer, the latter as a person who impressed him with her deep sense of social responsibility towards her charitable work. Bureaucratization Weber recognized the dangers of bureaucratization and spoke of how measurement processes could turn people into cogs in a machine. In this, Weber s reflections are not too distant from Marx s theories of alienation. Although organizational bureaucratization increases efficiency and the capability for greater production that mechanical efficiency also threatens to dehumanize its participants. Weber also believed, however, that the only way people could make a significant contribution was to subjugate their personalities and desires to the impersonal goals and procedures of large scale organizations. Paradoxically, Weber believed that the only way to escape such a mechanical future was for a charismatic leader to transform the organization into something new. Bureaucracy became the model for the twentieth century organization, and was encapsulated in the organization of Alfred Sloan s General Motors and Harold Geneen s ITT. Perhaps the mundanity and regularity of bureaucratic, corporate life was best described in William Whyte s The Organization Man (1956) in which the individual was taken over by the bureaucratic machine, in the name of efficiency. A more recent and humorous interpretation of life in a bureaucracy has been depicted by Scott Adams in The Dilbert Principle. • 40. The Rights Of The United States Constitution The United States Constitution was designed to enfranchise the white men who, in 1787, were the only citizens included in John Locke s conception of the social contract (outlined in his Second Treatise of Government). At this time in history, women were not invited to be free and equal, in relation to their husbands and fathers or as citizens in the founding fathers new republic. Therefore, the Constitution never addresses abortion, contraception, or marriage. Arguments made in laws and court cases on these topics, specifically reproductive rights, have therefore traditionally rested on a right to privacy the court has interpreted as being found in the first, fourth, fifth, and fourteenth amendments to the Constitution, rather than a right to freedom from sex based discrimination found in the nineteenth amendment. The landmark supreme court cases Griswold v. Connecticut and Roe v. Wadewere both won on these grounds, both setting a precedent for the expansion of the right to privacy. This protection has also been affected by the 2003 Partial Birth Abortion Ban and the Hyde Amendment. First off, in 1965 the supreme court ruled 7 2 in the Griswold v. Connecticut case that the state of Connecticut s ban on contraception was unconstitutional, because it denied a married couple s right to privacy (a right extended to unmarried individuals under the Griswold precedent in the 1972 Eisenstadt v. Baird supreme court case). This expansion of privacy in Griswold later informed Roe v. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Jack s power takes over him and turns him into a savage creating destruction to the whole island. They painted their faces like savages (Golding 163). Jacks way of proving himself to the rest of the island was to kill the pig. He did this not for the food but to show his dominance.
