Research Paper On Megan s Law
On July 29, 1994 in a small town in New Jersey, a 7 year old girl was lured into the home of Jesse
Timmendequas after the promise of a puppy. What followed was the sexual assault and brutal
murder of Megan Kanka, her body found in Mercer Park the next day. Timmendequas was
arrested quickly and at which time his prior charges were brought to light. Timmendequas had
been priorly charged with attacking a 5 year old child and attempted sexual assault of a 7 year old
( Parents For Megan s Law ). These facts sparked community outrage, and petitions that demanded
the right to be made more aware of sexual predators circulated the state. Megan Kanka s parent
pushed for the state legislators to create a new law, stating that if they had known about... Show

On the way home they were stopped by a mask man holding a gun. While Jacob s brother and
friend were released, Jacob was to remain with the man. The two other boys ran home, no arrest

to the community, sex offenders had been living in halfway houses around the neighborhood. Not
many years after this event Stephanie Schmidt, a 19 year old college student was raped and
murdered by a coworker whom she had no idea was a registered sex offender ( Parents For Megan s
Law ). Her family contributed to laws that would make communities more aware of sexual
predators. Laws like these provide information of the offender s conviction such as, Subject
sexually assaulted a juvenile female, and description of the offense for example, Subject sexually

Effects Of Birth Control On American Women s Lives
Effects of the Birth Control Pill on American Women s Lives
Over the centuries, women have tried a number of methods to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Some
of the pregnancy control measures that existed before the invention of the pill included abstinence
and withdrawal. Unfortunately, such methods often failed to prevent unintended pregnancies. As
such, birth control advocates continued researching for effective birth control methods. Americans
did not meet the idea of birth control methods with enthusiasm. In fact, those who advocated the use
of birth control devices experienced challenges, including being jailed.
In the 1950s, birth control pills were introduced in the United States (Windsor, 2002). Over the
past seven decades, the pill has changed the American women s lives in several ways. The pills
have allowed women to delay marriages, invest in their career development, and secure well paid
jobs in areas that were previously dominated by men. The pill has also improved family
relationships and prevented abuse and marriage dissolutions. This paper explores the history of
birth control methods in the US and how the pill became available on a large scale to women. The
paper further examines how the pills has given women the freedom to advance their careers,
strengthen the marriage relationships, and participate in the workforce.
A Brief History of Birth Control Methods Prior to the 3000 BC, women tried various birth control
methods. Some of the common methods included

Limited Liability Companies
After reading the case of Alex, Bill, Carl, and Devon s business, me being their accountant, a
type of business I would suggest them will be a Liability Limited corporation. Based on their
needs LLC would be a perfect form of business for them. As their company was sole proprietorship
ran by their dad, LLC offers some advantages of a corporation, as well as some advantages of a sole
proprietorship. A limited liability company, commonly called an LLC, is a business structure that
combines the pass through taxation of a partnership or sole proprietorship with the limited
liability of a corporation. (Nolo, 2014, n.a.) The characteristics of LLCs and a partnership
company are somewhat similar as they both provide flexibility to the management and also the
benefit of pass through taxation. The Owners of an LLC are called members. As most states do
not have any limit on ownership, members can be individuals, companies, other LLCs and foreign
individuals. There is no limit on the number of members in LLC. Some LLC also have only one
owner, which is called a single member, and it is allowed in most of the states. Most states do not
restrict ownership, and so members may include individuals, corporations, other LLCs and foreign
entities (irs.gov, 2014)
There are some important factors that Alex, Bill, Carl, Devon and Xavier should know before they
move forward to convert their business into Limited Liability Company.
Ease and cost of formation In order to establish LLC, an

Boko Haram Is A Terrorist Extremist Group
Introduction
Boko Haram is a terrorist extremist group that fights against Christianity. Their goal is to turn the
world into Islam believers. Right now they have focused on Africa, Nigeria in particular. In order
to do this, they have taken over towns, stolen girls from schools and brought terror to Nigeria. Boko
Haram promotes a version of Islam which makes it haram , or forbidden, for Muslims to take part
in any political or social activity associated with Western society. This includes voting in elections,
wearing shirts and trousers or receiving a secular education. Boko Haram regards the Nigerian state
as being run by non believers, even when the country had a Muslim president and it has extended its
military campaign by targeting neighbouring states.

Rise Of The West Essay
We cannot be too sure of what accurately caused the rise of the west, but we could as well be
close enough. The problem about history is that stories will evolve after time passes. Debates
between Historians and other will sometimes change ideas. Authors of some best selling books
leave out some key details that could be needed later on. We have also been false on a certain
number of subjects like how Columbus was the first to discover America when truth was he wasn
t. There is a lot of evidence pointing towards that the West actually did rise, but there are still
problems from our fellow Historians this current day. We all know what we know, it s human
nature to depend on something that we know and also trust. There are though, some minor
misconceptions with what we know. The books we read today give us all the same in text of what
happened and how it shaped a country to what it is today with all the critical points. It s important
to know the ideologies, practices, advancements and connections between countries. Though these
things are important, there could still be more out there. Historians could be basing their facts off
just 20% of the information found while the other portion is unknown. Some findings can be
labeled as a Game Changer because of the vast amounts of artifacts and information that have been
recovered. Scientists using high tech, airplane based lidar mapping tools have... Show more content

The House On Mango Street Theme Analysis
What does it mean when you need to fulfill a dream? Every person may have a different view
towards the answer to this question. Personally, I believe this means your strong impulse to follow
and conquer what you feel most passionate about. In the novel, The House on Mango Street, by
Sandra Cisneros ,the main character Esperanza shares her journey through life and her longing
desire to leave the house she lives on Mango Street forever. Throughout the novelthere are multiple
themes that transpire during Esperanza s life. Although each theme shows relevance, I conclude the
most compelling theme in the novel and the most apparent in today s society is the need to fulfill a
dream.
Through the course of Esperanza s childhood and early adulthood she took on many life ... Show

But the house on Mango street is not the way they told at all. .When the reality of her parents
expectations didn t go the way hoped it created the initial reason for Esperanza s dream about
leaving Mango Street . If their house wasn t that much of a downgrade to what they have wanted
,Esperanza may not have felt the need to dream about a whole new house of her own. As her
character continues to grow, her reason of wanting her own house becomes much more
meaningful . Essentially, Esperanza s house will not only show her taste in real estate, but her
true self . In other words , her house will act as a safe haven , the place she can escape to express
herself and show her true nature. Illustrated on page 87 , One day I ll own my own house, but I

Among the first rock stars of the 50s was Chuck Berry. Chuck Berry gave the youth quick paced
rhythms, exuberant and carefree audience execution, and verses that permitted the crowd to relate
to the music. Chuck Berry availed all the components desired by the young society. In fact, in his
music Rock N Roll Music , the youth could dance and embrace at the same time being unique from
the music their parents had enjoyed. In 1950s, the civil rights movement had risen and sparkled
much attention. The issue of race was consequently fixed to Chuck Berry and Rock and Roll.

Amongst the new stars to surface as part of the second wave of Rock and Roll founders was Elvis
Presley. While Elvis Presley was influenced by the rhythm and blues turned Rock star such as
Chuck Berry, he brought with him, some of his variation in sound and a new level of energy to his
music. In fact, he even rose to greater popularity and promoted even greater controversy. Although
he maintains more considerable deal of rhythm and blues styles from Chuck Berry, he incorporated
a significant amount of country flavor to his music. Resultantly, there was a more prominent
concentration on the guitar as the lead instrument instead of Chuck Berry s Piano. Likewise, Elvis
Presley moved the substance of his music to subjects relating to romance.
Having experienced childhood in the South Elvis Presley had extensive commonality with rhythm

affected by gospel music. The blend of this element made Elvis a musical sensation. The rock
impact gave his music, the traditional quick paced rhythm and steady beat, while the gospel side of

Managing Pain During The Acute Care Setting
Everyone experiences pain differently, its etiology, source, and type of pain is unique to each
patient. Pain is defined as a complex, multidimensional phenomenon that originates from sensory
stimuli, which has obvious motivation affective properties, demands attention, disrupts thought and
behavior and results in activity aimed to stop the pain(Blanchard, 2010). Managing pain in the acute
care setting has become one of the greatest challenges nurses and healthcare providers face.
Unsatisfactorily managed pain can contribute to several adverse outcomes for hospitalized patients
including reduced mobility, stimulation of unhealthy stress response, infection, creates barriers, and
additional complications. As pain treatment becomes more aggressive, so too does our attention to
reassessment of pain after intervention to ensure both safe and effective pain management(Gordon,
2014).
In 1992, the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research provided guidelines for the management
of acute postoperative pain. The goals of the pain management guidelines are to reduce pain,
complications, and length of hospital stay, to educate patients in communicating unrelieved pain;
and to enhance patient satisfaction with pain management practices (Good, 1998). From these
guidelines, Marion Good, PhD, RN, helped develop a middle range theory for Acute Pain
Management for adults who can learn, set goals, and communicate symptoms. The theory does not
pertain to individuals such as elderly,

we know about it, sometimes we tend to forget about it. I m here to remember us why it plays

The Bible, The Word `` Covenant ``
Despite the continuous disobedience and failures from God s people, His love for humanity is so
deep and faithful that He made promises to His people so that they would rebuild their relationship
and fellowship with Him once again. In the Bible, the word covenant is used to describe the
relationship between both God and man. God blesses those who receive the promises because of
their faith and their commitments to His commandments. His covenants with His people give an
important theme for Christianitybecause it still upholds truth to today s society and future
generations to come.
The first covenant God made with His people after the fall of Adam and Eve was the Noahic
covenant. This covenant was made during the time where only one man Noah, was able to make
God smile and stay faithful to God s plan despite the continuous sinful actions made by the other
people. This covenant shows God s grace towards humanity and their disobedience towards His
commands. The Noahic covenant lays down the foundation for the existence of humankind. It also
addresses in particular the matter of capital punishment that took place during this time. Genesis
9:12 13 states, And God said, This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you
and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow
in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. This covenant was

How Hockney Changed Photography
David Hockney experimented heavily with photo collage in 1982 1987, creating works of art
called joiners. Joiners accidentally occurred when he was working on one of his paintings of his
living room and terrace in Los Angeles, as he took Polaroid shots of the living room and glued
them together as a preparatory work, not intending for them to build a composition of their own.
Upon this finding he enjoyed the final composition and he realised that he could take this
somewhere and he began to work more and more with composition and Polaroid photographs.
Being very interested with this work and he would take a series of photographs selected carefully
and arranging them in the right way, Hockney was able to change the shapes and the space within ...

boundaries and has expanded on the possibilities that the art can be presented in the same way
using different technology and is now see as Cubism and an abstract style of modern art.
Hockney developed the ability to take an ordinary scene and develop it through photographs and
paint into something incredibly pleasing for the viewers to appreciate. Hockney is able to develop
such scenes immediately earned Hockney a place among contemporary artists of his time.
Other people have become so interested in his work that they have started to produce their own

really enjoy his work and I feel very strongly about the technique myself.
Whilst this photograph is physically larger than what he us used to and produces, his work is an
abstraction in a combination with minimalism, with such a combination of which Hockney is able
to move closer to the world of art. Hockney s work is very popular and inspires everyone to try out

Figurative Language In Homer s The Odyssey
The Odyssey is a greek mythology adventure with many short stories inside of it. There were many
different themes expressed throughout the stories, often through figurative language. In The
Odyssey, Homer used figurative language to express theme by using different literary devices such
as personification and hyperboles.
One of the literary devices Homer used to express a theme in the Odyssey is personification. For
example, in the story The Cyclops , Homer wrote When the young Dawn with fingertips of rose lit
up the world... (Line 252 253). This quote was personification because it gave Dawn the human
quality of fingertips. This use of personification expressed the theme of patience, because Odysseus

Cause And Effect Of `` Liberal Studies And Education ``
Cause and Effect
In today s society, people learn and receive education mainly to be able to articulate themselves and
to earn a living. In some cases, people learn an enormous amount to show off their intelligence.
Ultimately, most of their intelligence is facts and pointless information that serves them no
purpose. Within their education, they learn right from wrong; therefore, it creates a basis for them
to learn virtues, but unable to acquire a vast amount of virtues. In Liberal Studies and Education by
Seneca, Seneca believes that one must leave space for virtue in order to gain virtue, instead of
filling the space with knowledge of no purpose. When one leaves space for virtue, one gains these
virtues: unselfishness, kindliness, and loyalty.
Virtue is a substance that should be filled in the void instead of useless knowledge. Seneca says
that, virtue will not surrender herself to these narrow bounds of ours; a great subject needs wide
space in which to move. Let all other things be driven out, and let the breast be emptied to receive
virtue (28). In this example, things represent pointless knowledge. This type of knowledge must
not fill up more space than virtue. One must leave room for virtue in order to gain virtue.
Furthermore, Seneca says the pursuit of the liberal arts makes men troublesome, wordy, tactless,
self satisfied, bores, and causes people to fail to learn the essentials just because they have learned
the non essentials (28). Based on this reading,

sport fishermen came in 1993. In this legislation, the Great White Shark was declared off limits to
commercial harvest (Paige, 2001, http). In 2000, Bill Clinton signed the Shark Finning Prohibition
Act that bans shark finning in all U.S. Waters. In addition, the act provides that negotiations to
prohibit such practices be initiated internationally (Shark Finning Prohibited in US Waters, 2001,

Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). The most recent CITIES

The World Bank And The Imf Essay
The World Bank and the IMF are collectively known as the Bretton Woods institutions. They were
formed at a conference in Bretton Woods in New Hampshire with the aim to addressing concerns
to do with stability of world economic markets. IMF is mainly tasked with offering surveillance,
financial aid and technical assistance. IMF has 187 member states who each appoint a
representative to the IMF s board of Governors. The World Bankhas its voting power controlled by
the USA and it was built with the main aim of reducing povertyin middle income and creditworthy
poorer countries by promoting sustainable development through loans, guarantees, and non
lending which includes analytical and advisory services. Whether African countries have
benefited from IMF/World Bank projects is a subject of controversy. Rono, J. K. (2002) opines
that adjustment programs have caused de legitimization of state which has led to political
violence, riots and frequent regime changes in some countries in sub Saharan Africa such as
DRC, Zambia and Nigeria. For purposes of this research, I will restrict myself to discussing what
is known as the structural adjustment program popularly (SAPs) in Kenya. According to Rono, J.
K. (2002) Kenya adopted economic reforms mainly with the aim of achieving macroeconomic and
structural adjustment which were initiated by the World Bank and the IMF in from 1980 onwards.
I am persuaded to agree with an opinion by Rono, J. K. (2002) that the well intended adjustment

Challenges Faced By European Enlargement And Integration
Challenging the challenges: The Eastern Enlargement was, and remains, a point of dispute
when arguing the costs and benefits. It provided numerous opportunities for the EU, but with
them came challenges, some of which could be argued were too much and too soon for the EU.
This chapter will engage the major challenges and benefits in the way they were presented by
dominant theories of EU enlargement and integration. To provide a clearer picture they will be
divided into two broad headings; economic and political. Money matters: As the planned
economy experiment of the Soviet bloc failed so it left scars in the economy of the CEECs. The
average GDP of the candidates was only 40% of the average member state GDP, while
representing approximately a third of EUs population and size. Comparatively, Spain s and
Portugal s GDP was 70% of that of Member states upon entering (Nugent, 2004). Such a divide in
income is troubling, to say the least, as the cost of development would now be shared among all
member states, leaving the older members to pick up the tab.Furthermore, the EU budget would
come under heavy strain, especially the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The CEECs had a
fairly undeveloped industry, seeing a large amount of the population employed in the primary
sector. The numbers here are quite staggering, the percentage of the population employed in the EU
in agriculture went from 5% to 12% after the enlargement (numbers taken from Eurostat data). To
deepen the problem,

Crusades and the Church Essay
Crusades and the Church
At the time of the Crusades, the official church had become corrupt and politically motivated. It
should be noted, too, that crusaders did not take vows to go on crusade. The very term crusade, in
English or in any other language, is a much later invention. What we call crusades, contemporaries
knew as pilgrimages or even simply journeys. Aside from a tiny elite, people were illiterate and
even if they could read, there was no access to a Bible or any scriptural teaching. It was an age of
superstition and magic, where visions, signs and wonders were claimed by many. The masses
only source of knowledge about God was whatever the often corrupt and greedy clergy decided to
teach. The early crusades ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Regardless of motivation, an individual underwent a specific ceremony before he could be
considered a crusader. The ceremony evolved somewhat over the centuries, but its general
outlines remained the same. A would be crusader sought out an ecclesiastical authority (a priest,
bishop or higher cleric) and swore to carry out an armed pilgrimage in support of the Holy
Places. He then usually received a cloth cross which he could place on his clothes to signify his
new status. Crusading vows were usually taken in response to official preaching of a crusade by
licensed churchmen. They were supposed to be taken only by fighting men or those who could
otherwise contribute to a military effort, and they were not to be taken without the permission of
the crusader s wife, since his long absence would deprive her of what was delicately called marital
rights (Pope Innocent III, in need of troops for his crusading proposals, changed this in the
thirteenth century, but in doing so he violated longstanding Church tradition and the plain
intentions of canon law). The crusader s property and people were then placed under the protection
of the Church, and he was to begin preparing to leave. If he did not discharge his vow within a
certain period of time, he might be excommunicated by the church until he kept his word.
Crusaders were often offered an indulgence in return for participation in the hardships of a crusade.
The indulgence was later seriously abused, and

Compare And Contrast The Response Of Anti-Federalists...
Out of the 55 delegates who attended the Constitutional Convention, only 39 signed the
Constitution due to multiple objections from the Anti Federalists, but these objections were
moderately absolved during the ratification process. Delegates who did not sign the Constitution
had reasonings that ranged from simply going home early to outright protest. One of the reasons
was that the Constitution lacked a Bill of Rights. Individuals who did not sign because of this
included Elbridge Gerry, Richard Henry Lee, and George Mason. These men believed the
Constitution lacked sufficient protection of individual rights and felt a Bill of Rights should be
added. A second reason was that the Constitution gave too much power to the federal government

Anti Federalists believed that aspects such as the necessary and proper clause and the supremacy
clause gave too much power to the central government and violated state s rights. The Anti
Federalists also had issues that were specific to each branch. The Constitution gave the President the
power to pardon, the Anti Federalists believed this awarded the executive branch too much power
and created a leader similar to Britain s monarch. They argued that legislature had too few of seats,
and that senators term limits were too long. The judicial branch was granted the right to review the
Constitution, and the Anti Federalists thought the branch would manipulate and interpret the
Constitution to benefit themselves. Furthermore, Anti Federalists believed that the national
government was too far from the average citizen and wouldn t be able to respond to concerns on a
state and local basis. Because the Constitution was written behind closed doors, the Anti
Federalists believed that the American people should know exactly what rights the new document
gave them, therefore a Bill of Rights was necessary. The federalists responded to these objections
in many ways. One of the most memorable was the Federalist Papers written by John Jay, James
Madison, and Alexander Hamilton. These papers outlined the benefits of a strong central
government in order to persuade New York to ratify the Constitution. Debates between Federalists
and Anti Federalists broke out in multiple states, thus leading to a decelerated ratification process.
Compromise between these two factions came through promises to add a Bill of Rights and create
a better system of checks and balances leading to more states ratifying the

Canon Shape Structure in Jewish and Christian Bibles
Judaism and Christianity are derived from different times and places in the world. They share a
lengthy past and many of the same books. However, these communities are divergent in their
beliefs. The fundamental differences lie within the literary composition of each theology s sacred
texts. The shape and structure of the Jewish and Christian canons are arranged to substantiate each
community s religious beliefs.
Jews and Christians arranged their canons differently to obtain a specific outcome in relation to
their fundamental beliefs. First off, the Jews arranged their books in the Hebrew Bible to reflect
their covenantal relationship with God. The 24 books are organized by genre of scripture and tell
the history of God s relationship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These passages from the Book of Malachi emphasize the people s disobedience towards God and
desperate need for redemption, or as the Christian community would interpret it, a savior. For
Jews, this is a call to action and to return to God from devious ways. The Book of Malachi s place
in the middle of the Hebrew Bible reflects its significance as a moral lesson and warning. In the
Christian Bible, having this book placed last and the Gospels following it, there is a fulfillment of
the prophecies. For Christian communities, continuity is established through the prophecies of
Jesus Christ.
In almost every case, the location of a biblical book relative to other canonical books, whether in
terms of the grouping in which it is placed, or the book(s) that follow or precede it, has
hermeneutical significance for the reader who seeks meaning in the text (Goswell, 688). For
Christians and Jews, their understanding of scriptures purpose is derived from religious texts. The
textual arrangement portrays and supports an entirely different meaning to each community. For
the Jewish community, the canons reveal their belief in God and their role with the divine entity.
The books of the Hebrew Bible take particular significance with the Jewish community in

W. E. B. Dubois Dark Princess
People, no matter their race or color, have always wanted to be successful, live comfortably, and
provide for their families. While the definitions for success and comfort have changed over time, a
constant truth is that hard work and sacrifice are required to reach these goals. Moving from an
individual to the societal or political level, for many races and nations, progress can measure success
. Ethnic groups want progress towards equality, while nations, particularly those in Asia, Africa,
and the Middle East, want progress towards economic and industrial progress towards leveling
with the West; they also wish for political respect and autonomy. Since the end of the colonial era,

Examining W.E.B. Dubois novel Dark Princess, the characters of Sammy Scott and Sara
Andrews exemplify individualism completely. The honorable Sammy Scott was a leading black
politician in Chicago. Dubois described Sammy s beginnings: ...in 1910 by selling the right to
gamble, keep houses of prostitution, and commit petty theft, to certain men, white and black,
who paid him in cash (Dubois, pg. 82). Sammy is completely corrupt, wanting power and money
for himself. He misses his opportunity as a politician to help his district, make positive changes
that could improve the lives of the black people all around him. Instead he chooses to be a
gangster, promoting gambling and prostitution, and maintaining a criminal undertone in
Chicago. Sara Andrews was equally calculating. Dubois describes Sara on page 84 as having a
good intellect without moral scruples and a clear idea of the communal and social value of
virginity, respectability, and good clothes . Dubois is saying she is cunning, and in tune with
what is expected in society. She knows what she needs to do to be successful, and like Sammy,
she wants all of the power for herself. Sammy and Sara both lived a dog eat dog existence, and
were willing to sacrifice others on their way to the top. It is important to note that Dubois
recognized individualism as a major obstacle for racial progress, and Sammy and Sara
demonstrated the issues stemming from individualism in Dark Princess. Unfortunately, others
failed to capitalize on Dubois foresight. Today there is an equal lack of cohesiveness amongst
African Americans, due to varying socioeconomic levels. At the time of civil rights, a black
middle class was able to forge ahead and have success. This professional level is still here today, but
what also exists today is the bottom of

By solely reading the tittle of the poem, the reader might generally associate it with symbolism, a
condition where limitation exists instead of freedom. After reading the whole stanza and a little
background of the poet, however, the reader might connect this with the past ethnicity incident

very peaceful and soothing sighing trees / dawn bright lawn . While the caged bird is painted as
image of dreams which cannot be fulfilled for certain reasons. The line but a caged bird stands on
the grave of dreams / his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream , in which the grave can be the
symbol of death, might represent the circumstance where dreams cannot be fulfilled and become

The first year of 1 800 JUNK Van s existence saw success due to the virtual business model that
Marcus Kingo implemented. However, with the rapid growth of the business and future plans,
Kingo needs to address some serious operational issues going forward. To do this, he must

Process Issues at Junk Van
There are numerous problems with the Junk Van s current process. Inefficiencies exist in the
system that are preventing the business from maximizing value, such as drivers having to
sometimes go back to the customer s location in order to collect money. Data consolidation in
many areas of the process is also wasting valuable resources that could be better focused
elsewhere. This and other manual procedures are partly responsible for mistakes being made and
errors occurring. Having one live database copy is impractical and ineffective, especially
considering the company s virtual business model. Changes are bound to arise and there needs to
be a centralized place where all team members can go to make updates and look up relevant
information in real time. Emailing information back and forth among several people makes it easy
for some of that information to get lost in the mix. Kingo must also address his

Decision Making Process Of The Theory Of Organization
Decision Making Decision making process is a way to get a final choice on achieving goals or
solving problems among several alternatives. In classical theory of organization, it was believed
that only top managers perform as the decision makers. It regards the employees as instrument
(March and Simon 1993). However, In Simon and March s view (1993), employees are not just
instrument, they are indeed rational people that think, act, and decide on their own in
organizations. The decisions they made not only are affected by their knowledge and information

Simon and March (1993) contend that the central unifying construct is not hierarchy but decision

decision making processes . In order to identify how Simon and March develops the understanding
of organization through decision making, people need to understand why the classical theory is
regarded as improper. The first point is the rationality. In classical method, the rational man makes
optimal choices with conditions that there are already several alternatives simply given with no
reasons why it is obtained and consequences attached to each alternatives. The decision makers
have their own preferences and choose the one they think to be most optimal. However, since not
all consequences of alternatives are certain or can be predicted, and the conditions are too perfectly

Individualism In Modern Society
In modern culture, societal views on individuality are vastly effecting the new generation of people.
Individualism, emphasizes the ability for one s morals to be independent from society. Many who
express individuals tend to dismiss the status quo, as they recognize their self worth and the
capability to realize it is acceptable to be different. Meanwhile, others who may struggle to
determine their individualism, tend to struggle with figuring out who they are and why they are
special in society. Society creates sources of criteria that enables stereotypes that reducing one s
ability to become an individual. Society also creates ideals of who you should become in society
which tends to be similar to your peers around you. Although there are people who are accepted
by society who express enormous amounts of individualism, the overall impact of society tends to
hinder one s role as an individual in the community due to requirements that society has created.
We have all heard of names such as Heidi Klum, Kendall Jenner, and Gigi Hadid. These ladies are
not only seen as models, while they have achieved the term supermodel. How they have attained
this title is no question. In modern society to reach this label you must meet the requirements that

Another variable that is significant is the S P 500 stock index. It s significant at 1% significance
level. The sign for the estimates is negative, which is similar to the intuitively one would think
of. Since, we know that the investors will be investing in the gold whenever they are not
confident about the market outlook, so they will be pulling out their investment from the stock
market and putting it in the gold market. Which makes sense as the sign of the estimates is
negative. Now, to interpret the estimates for S P 500 variable, we can say that a unit decrease in
the stock market will increase the gold price by close to $1. Which means that there is equal
increase in the gold prices as the decrease in the stock market. Treasury inflation indexed
securities is another variable that is significant at 1% significance level. Now, since the TIPS are
indexed to the inflation, the TIPS will increase whenever there is inflation and decrease when
there is deflation. The sign for the variable is negative meaning that a unit increase in the TIPS
level will increase the gold prices by $0.95. Since, the TIPS level is increasing there is inflation
and because of that it makes sense that the investors will be investing in the gold market when
there is increase in the inflation. Oil prices variable is also significant at 5% significance level.
These means that the with a unit increase in the prices of oil future contracts will increase the price

Analysis Of Opposites In Phaedo Socrates
In the Phaedo Socrates argues that life is shaped by opposite, things are formed from the
changing of one opposite to another. Socrates believes life plays out in cycles. Such, as in literary
cycles where an end comes from a beginning so too follows the cycle of life and death, from where
a death comes another life. From this theory of cycling opposites comes the argument that things
can only exist from their opposites. Socrates beings the argument with his desire to show that in all
opposites there is of necessity a similar alternation. by this he means that something cannot become
greater without before being less. Within the process of changing from one opposite to another
there are intermediates which are the agents of change. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In this question we see the opposites theory presented in a more spiritual light. He explains that
death comes from the prior existence of life, and life comes from the presence of soul. So, there
for soul is on a continuous cycle of life and death. Since his argument states that everything in
life comes from opposites why should the cycle of life and death be presented any differently?
While the two opposites are clear one of the intermediates is much more abstract. One of the two
process or generations is visible. For surly the act of dying is visible. The presence of death can
be seen while the creation of life is less obvious. Socrates then outlines his belief of soul leaving
the body after death. During which time the soul returns to a place of an existence before man.
Socrates introduces this concept of a world beyond human exist where souls reside intermediately
between the death of the vessel and the eventual birth of the dead into the world of the living. This
theory aims to demonstrate how life works but constantly shifting between two opposites. If these
rules are meant to apply to sleeping, waking and all the other accidents; why should they not apply

Mississippi has been known to be the home of Native Americans. It dates all the way back to the
civil war times. Many people feel that Mississippi has no type of history to this country, well it
does. Mississippi was made the 20th state in the country in 1817. Before becoming a state it was
nothing but land and hills that the three major tribes lived on.
The three major tribes in late Mississippi were the Chickasaw, Choctaw, and the Natchez tribes.
The Natchez tribe was made up of 4500 people. The mostly migrated in the southwestern part of
Mississippi. They worshiped the sun as if it was a supreme god in which they believed in life after
death. They also believed if an important member of the tribe died several people had to sacrifice

old Native American game.
The Chickasaw tribe was made up of 15,000 people before coming in contact with the Europeans.
In the 1600 s the tribe had 5,000 before the United States government forced them to leave their
homelands. The Choctaw and the Chickasaw were said to be a part of the same tribe because of
their related language. In the early 19th century the Chickasaw tribe had trouble finding meat so
they resorted to become successful farmers. In the civil war the Chickasaw fought with the
confederacy. When the war was over settlers began coming into their land. So by the late 1970 s
the tribe was no longer an Indian society.

of the orbiter were quickly refocused to a discussion of how much additional maintenance might
now be needed to prepare Columbia for its next flight. Transcribed and audio evidence showed that
many NASA meetings were inconsistent and ineffective. NASA management meetings were
condensed, sometimes shaving multiple slide engineering analyses down to a single slide. The
potential impact of a foam strike on the orbiter is an example. Sometimes the slides presented
would have factual errors or errors in assumptions that an expanded briefing or technical data may
have eliminated. The history of foam strikes and external tank modifications is an example. Many

Crossfit Persuasive Research Papers
In a time when technology is the focal point of attraction, people spend more time sitting in front
of a screen than getting out and being active. Video games used to be simply a game, movies
used to be a treat, and phones were only used for talking. Now, these things are considered
hobbies! As a result, more and more people sit around with technology instead of pursuing
healthier activities. In order to fight the increased lack of physical activity of today s society, many
schools, employers, and organizations have invested time and money into programs directed at
getting people up and active. Countless programs and hobbies have emerged over the years to
capitalize on this active movement, but one is the complete package. CrossFit uses high... Show

When people are confident with who they are, they use that confidence to pursue purpose in
their lives. A major contributor to a person s perspective of themselves is their personal
appearance, so when they look fit they see themselves more positively. CrossFit burns fat, builds
muscle, and improves endurance, which in effect enhances people s physique. This
transformation is just the beginning and sets off a chain reaction. Like any hobby, when one is
able to finally see progress in their ability it motivates them to try even harder and apply
themselves even more. This is most true with CrossFit. As one looks in the mirror and sees results
of their hard work, they become driven to stay committed and give even more effort. This new
sense of motivation then leaks over into every other aspect of life and makes people more
confident in everything they do, which leads to success. When others see the transformation of
hobbyists in CrossFit, they are encouraged to follow and attain the same

Research Paper On Cultural Identity
What is cultural identity?...You may ask, Well in this essay i will be explaining not only what
cultural identity means but i will also be giving some examples of some things that describe me
and my cultural identity. Some examples of what makes me who I am are my hobbies, such as
hunting, fishing and being with family. In my opinion i believe that cultural identity is how your
cultural backgrounds reflect on the things that you do. Such as for me i was brought up hunting
and fishing, these things were taught from generation to generation from the hawaiian culture.
From a young age hunting is one of the biggest passion i have in my life but little did i know that
this identified who i was and my culture. Such as my dad would always tell

FDR’s Alphabet Soup
After the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and the Hoover administration, something had to be done
regarding the relief and recovery of the Great Depression. This was one of the more important
objectives of Franklin Delano Roosevelt s first term as president. Although Herbert Hoover made
somewhat of an attempt trying to reconcile the country, but he was unable to live up to his
rhetoric, prosperity is right around the corner. Hoover failed to comprehend the extent of the
damage of the stock market crash from a global perspective and simply did too much too fast.
When Franklin Roosevelt came into presidency in 1933, he set out his first hundred day plan.

It was ran very militaristically and was considered one the most popular New Deal programs.
According to one employee through the CCC, Delbert Apetz, Nobody seemed to complain
down there because you had a place to sleep, a place to eat which is pretty skimpy a lot of times
at home. FDR knew that it would be one of the most successful programs America s recovery
process. The night of the Fireside Chat he describe to America the CCC was to start, Enhancing
the value of our natural resources and second, we were relieving an amount of natural distress.
The program lasted until 1941; having planted over 2.5 billion trees, 40 million acres were
protected from erosion, 125,000 miles of road was built and 800 state parks were created. The
New Deal program was providing jobs and helping natural resources from another plan: the
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Established by congress a little over a week after the Fireside

lower Appalachian area. The authority was also to start the delivery of low cost electricity to most
of Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, western North Carolina, and southwest
Virginia. FDR stated, It should be charged with the broadest duty of planning for the proper use,
conservation and development of the natural resources of the Tennessee River drainage basin and

Abstract Since one s health is a factor considered, data coming from Twitter, one of the most
popular social media platforms often used by millions of people, is beneficial for predictions of
certain diseases. The researchers created a system that will improve the precision rate of the current

Twitter provides free APIs from which a sampled view can be easily obtained. It helps build a
map spread model. In line with this, the researchers came up with an idea of working on a research
using these Twitter data, focusing on the so called tweets regarding diseases and health,
specifically, the flu or influenza.
Furthermore, previous studies were made regarding this topic. In 2008, there was a website
called Google Flu Trends that took data from Google, Facebook, and Twitter itself [2]. It was
widely used in its release, but it was proven to have inconsistencies with regards to its data [2].
Back in 2011 2013, Google Flu Trends overestimated the number of people who had flu by 50%
[3]. One possible cause was its inclusion of data which contained the word flu or influenza ,
wherein the person who tweeted or posted about it did not have the flu at all [3].
There was also a study that made a precision of 0.78 or 78% using the NaГЇve Bayes Classification
algorithm to identify tweets that mention flu or flu like symptoms [4]. As mentioned earlier,
previous researchers had difficulty classifying these tweets as some data gathered got accepted even
though the person did not have it.
According to the Department of Health of the Philippines [5], getting flu is possible by contacting
items that are contaminated through the discharges of an infected

Dangers Of George Washington s Farewell Address
Washington s Farewell Adress After his presidency, George Washington has explains many
possible dangers and concerns he has for the for the up and coming nation that he spent 8 years so
heavily devoted toward. There were many issues during Washington s presidency so he writes a
farewell address discussing the issues and giving Americans some wise words of advice. Some of
the issues that Washingtonbrings up include staying out of other nation s issues and worry about
ourselves, to not divide our nation by forming different political parties with different ideas, and
pay off the newly acquired national debt. He explains all of these issues and more in his farewell
address. He also says that if the constitution needs to be changed it should be done so legally and
not by rebellion which Americans tend to do. One of the main dangers that President Washington
sees are the political parties that are, at this point, just starting to be formed by people like
Hamilton and Jefferson. Washington doesn t like the idea of a divided government because he
believes it is not in the best interest of the people and nation. He clarifies this when he writes, The

The Family Medical Leave Act The Family Medical Leave Act was passed in 1993 and updated in
2008 and 2009. The law requires employers with 50 or more employees to allow up to 12 weeks of
unpaid leave. The provision of the law would allow employees who have worked for one year and
have worked at least 1,250 hours to use the unpaid leavefor family or medical reasons (DeCenzo

service, any combination of weeks worked that equal to 52 weeks makes and employee eligible for

The Hypocrisy Of American Slavery By Fredrick Douglass
People have been beaten down, spat upon, imprisoned, enslaved, and even killed for their beliefs,
race, ethnicity, gender, and other characteristics throughout history. Throughout much of American
history, African Americans have been the victims of countless injustices and have been thought
of as less than human by society. Many people opposed society s view of African Americans and
stood up for their rights. Those who stood up for the rights of slaves and African Americans tried
their best to persuade the public that their treatment of these people was cruel and an injustice to
humanity. This is evident in the speech The Hypocrisy of American Slavery by Fredrick Douglass
in the years leading up to the civil war, and the speech We Shall... Show more content on

By doing this, president Johnson earns credibility with all people who are listening to his
speech. Also by using this quote, he persuades his audience that he knows what he is talking
about by saying that the destiny of America and equal rights for all are connected. Both speakers
use ethos to give their arguments validity and persuade their audience that injustices against
slaves and African Americans should be stopped and they should be treated equally. In addition
to ethos, Fredrick Douglass and Lyndon B. Johnson appeal to their audience s emotions to
persuade them of their points using pathos. Pathos is a persuasive technique in which a speaker
uses language that appeals to their audience s emotions to prove a point. In The Hypocrisy of
American Slavery , Fredrick Douglass says, Standing with God and the crushed and bleeding
slave on this occasion, I will, in the name of humanity which is outraged, in the name of liberty
which is fettered, in the name of the constitution and the Bible, which are disregarded and
trampled upon, dare to call in question and to denounce, with all the emphasis I can command,
everything that serves to perpetuate slavery the great sin and shame of America! . In this quote,
the speaker uses a myriad of charged words to denounce American slavery with great emphasis.
The charged words and imagery that Douglass uses creates horrid images in the audience s head

Classification and Scientific Name of Domestic Pigs
The scientific name of domestic pigs is Sus scrofa domesticus, or Sus domestica, depending on
whom one asks. Sus means pig , scrofa means breeding sow , and domeseticus means domesticated
in Latin. Its higher taxonomic order follows so: Domain Eukarya Kingdom Animalia Phylum
Chordata Class Mammalia Order Artiodactyla Family SuidaeGenus Sus Species scrofa/domestica
Subspecies (only if Species is scrofa) domesticus
Of the domestic pigs, there are subcategories that are not yet officially classified, but only called
by their common names in regions where they are available these unofficial subspecies are
selectively bred for sale to farmers and pet owners. They are bred in North America and Western
Europe for pethood, and globally for livestock. The scientific classification Sus domestica was
designated to pigs domesticated for a farm setting, but it also encompasses pet pigs, which are
truly the same animal, but bred to be much smaller. Pet pigs are my favorite animals. They are
called micro pigs , mini pigs , teacup pigs , and potbelly pigs. The pig of my interest, the domestic
pet pig, can live indoors like a dog or cat, or outdoors in pig houses. In case of outdoor housing, the
owner must be conscious and cautious about compensating for the potential harms of outdoor
weather to suit the needs of her pig. Comfortable situation must be provided where comfortable
conditions are unavailable. Cold weather below 4.5 celsius is not comfortable

What followed was the sexual assault and brutal murder of Megan Kanka, her body found in Mercer Park the next day. Timmendequas was arrested quickly and at which time his prior charges were brought to light. Timmendequas had been priorly charged with attacking a 5 year old child and attempted sexual assault of a 7 year old ( Parents For Megan s Law ). These facts sparked community outrage, and petitions that demanded the right to be made more aware of sexual predators circulated the state. • 4. Effects Of Birth Control On American Women s Lives Effects of the Birth Control Pill on American Women s Lives Over the centuries, women have tried a number of methods to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Some of the pregnancy control measures that existed before the invention of the pill included abstinence and withdrawal. Unfortunately, such methods often failed to prevent unintended pregnancies. As such, birth control advocates continued researching for effective birth control methods. Americans did not meet the idea of birth control methods with enthusiasm. In fact, those who advocated the use of birth control devices experienced challenges, including being jailed. In the 1950s, birth control pills were introduced in the United States (Windsor, 2002). Over the past seven decades, the pill has changed the American women s lives in several ways. The pills have allowed women to delay marriages, invest in their career development, and secure well paid jobs in areas that were previously dominated by men. The pill has also improved family relationships and prevented abuse and marriage dissolutions. This paper explores the history of birth control methods in the US and how the pill became available on a large scale to women. The paper further examines how the pills has given women the freedom to advance their careers, strengthen the marriage relationships, and participate in the workforce. A Brief History of Birth Control Methods Prior to the 3000 BC, women tried various birth control methods. Some of the common methods included ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Based on their needs LLC would be a perfect form of business for them. As their company was sole proprietorship ran by their dad, LLC offers some advantages of a corporation, as well as some advantages of a sole proprietorship. A limited liability company, commonly called an LLC, is a business structure that combines the pass through taxation of a partnership or sole proprietorship with the limited liability of a corporation. (Nolo, 2014, n.a.) The characteristics of LLCs and a partnership company are somewhat similar as they both provide flexibility to the management and also the benefit of pass through taxation. The Owners of an LLC are called members. As most states do not have any limit on ownership, members can be individuals, companies, other LLCs and foreign individuals. There is no limit on the number of members in LLC. Some LLC also have only one owner, which is called a single member, and it is allowed in most of the states. Most states do not restrict ownership, and so members may include individuals, corporations, other LLCs and foreign entities (irs.gov, 2014) There are some important factors that Alex, Bill, Carl, Devon and Xavier should know before they move forward to convert their business into Limited Liability Company. The problem about history is that stories will evolve after time passes. Debates between Historians and other will sometimes change ideas. Authors of some best selling books leave out some key details that could be needed later on. • 9. The House On Mango Street Theme Analysis What does it mean when you need to fulfill a dream? Every person may have a different view towards the answer to this question. Personally, I believe this means your strong impulse to follow and conquer what you feel most passionate about. In the novel, The House on Mango Street, by Sandra Cisneros ,the main character Esperanza shares her journey through life and her longing desire to leave the house she lives on Mango Street forever. Throughout the novelthere are multiple themes that transpire during Esperanza s life. Although each theme shows relevance, I conclude the most compelling theme in the novel and the most apparent in today s society is the need to fulfill a dream. Through the course of Esperanza s childhood and early adulthood she took on many life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But the house on Mango street is not the way they told at all. .When the reality of her parents expectations didn t go the way hoped it created the initial reason for Esperanza s dream about leaving Mango Street . If their house wasn t that much of a downgrade to what they have wanted ,Esperanza may not have felt the need to dream about a whole new house of her own. As her character continues to grow, her reason of wanting her own house becomes much more meaningful . Essentially, Esperanza s house will not only show her taste in real estate, but her true self . • 11. Managing Pain During The Acute Care Setting Everyone experiences pain differently, its etiology, source, and type of pain is unique to each patient. Pain is defined as a complex, multidimensional phenomenon that originates from sensory stimuli, which has obvious motivation affective properties, demands attention, disrupts thought and behavior and results in activity aimed to stop the pain(Blanchard, 2010). Managing pain in the acute care setting has become one of the greatest challenges nurses and healthcare providers face. Unsatisfactorily managed pain can contribute to several adverse outcomes for hospitalized patients including reduced mobility, stimulation of unhealthy stress response, infection, creates barriers, and additional complications. As pain treatment becomes more aggressive, so too does our attention to reassessment of pain after intervention to ensure both safe and effective pain management(Gordon, 2014). In 1992, the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research provided guidelines for the management of acute postoperative pain. The goals of the pain management guidelines are to reduce pain, complications, and length of hospital stay, to educate patients in communicating unrelieved pain; and to enhance patient satisfaction with pain management practices (Good, 1998). The issues that I found within the Health Center are all centered around costs and fees, such as the women and men services and having an unfair costs between those services that are given. The Health Center also has more expensive prices for the services that they administer compared to other college campuses and they charge unnecessary costs to some of the laboratory tests. • 16. The Bible, The Word `` Covenant `` Despite the continuous disobedience and failures from God s people, His love for humanity is so deep and faithful that He made promises to His people so that they would rebuild their relationship and fellowship with Him once again. In the Bible, the word covenant is used to describe the relationship between both God and man. God blesses those who receive the promises because of their faith and their commitments to His commandments. His covenants with His people give an important theme for Christianitybecause it still upholds truth to today s society and future generations to come. The first covenant God made with His people after the fall of Adam and Eve was the Noahic covenant. This covenant was made during the time where only one man Noah, was able to make God smile and stay faithful to God s plan despite the continuous sinful actions made by the other people. This covenant shows God s grace towards humanity and their disobedience towards His commands. The Noahic covenant lays down the foundation for the existence of humankind. It also addresses in particular the matter of capital punishment that took place during this time. Genesis 9:12 13 states, And God said, This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Joiners accidentally occurred when he was working on one of his paintings of his living room and terrace in Los Angeles, as he took Polaroid shots of the living room and glued them together as a preparatory work, not intending for them to build a composition of their own. Upon this finding he enjoyed the final composition and he realised that he could take this somewhere and he began to work more and more with composition and Polaroid photographs. Hockney developed the ability to take an ordinary scene and develop it through photographs and paint into something incredibly pleasing for the viewers to appreciate. Hockney is able to develop such scenes immediately earned Hockney a place among contemporary artists of his time. Other people have become so interested in his work that they have started to produce their own photographs and sometimes the technique and media are used on movie posters and or album posters. The technique of Joiners is very much more important now than it was back then. But I do really enjoy his work and I feel very strongly about the technique myself. Whilst this photograph is physically larger than what he us used to and produces, his work is an abstraction in a combination with minimalism, with such a combination of which Hockney is able to move closer to the world of art. There were many different themes expressed throughout the stories, often through figurative language. One of the literary devices Homer used to express a theme in the Odyssey is personification. For example, in the story The Cyclops , Homer wrote When the young Dawn with fingertips of rose lit up the world... (Line 252 253). • 20. Cause And Effect Of `` Liberal Studies And Education `` Cause and Effect In today s society, people learn and receive education mainly to be able to articulate themselves and to earn a living. In some cases, people learn an enormous amount to show off their intelligence. Ultimately, most of their intelligence is facts and pointless information that serves them no purpose. Within their education, they learn right from wrong; therefore, it creates a basis for them to learn virtues, but unable to acquire a vast amount of virtues. In Liberal Studies and Education by Seneca, Seneca believes that one must leave space for virtue in order to gain virtue, instead of filling the space with knowledge of no purpose. When one leaves space for virtue, one gains these virtues: unselfishness, kindliness, and loyalty. Virtue is a substance that should be filled in the void instead of useless knowledge. Seneca says that, virtue will not surrender herself to these narrow bounds of ours; a great subject needs wide space in which to move. Let all other things be driven out, and let the breast be emptied to receive virtue (28). In this example, things represent pointless knowledge. This type of knowledge must not fill up more space than virtue. One must leave room for virtue in order to gain virtue. Furthermore, Seneca says the pursuit of the liberal arts makes men troublesome, wordy, tactless, self satisfied, bores, and causes people to fail to learn the essentials just because they have learned the non essentials (28). With reported declines in their populations, the International Union for Conservation of Nature first listed the sharks on the endangered species list in 1996. It provided numerous opportunities for the EU, but with them came challenges, some of which could be argued were too much and too soon for the EU. This chapter will engage the major challenges and benefits in the way they were presented by dominant theories of EU enlargement and integration. To provide a clearer picture they will be divided into two broad headings; economic and political. Money matters: As the planned economy experiment of the Soviet bloc failed so it left scars in the economy of the CEECs. The average GDP of the candidates was only 40% of the average member state GDP, while representing approximately a third of EUs population and size. Comparatively, Spain s and Portugal s GDP was 70% of that of Member states upon entering (Nugent, 2004). Such a divide in income is troubling, to say the least, as the cost of development would now be shared among all member states, leaving the older members to pick up the tab.Furthermore, the EU budget would come under heavy strain, especially the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The CEECs had a fairly undeveloped industry, seeing a large amount of the population employed in the primary sector. The numbers here are quite staggering, the percentage of the population employed in the EU in agriculture went from 5% to 12% after the enlargement (numbers taken from Eurostat data). It should be noted, too, that crusaders did not take vows to go on crusade. The very term crusade, in English or in any other language, is a much later invention. What we call crusades, contemporaries knew as pilgrimages or even simply journeys. Aside from a tiny elite, people were illiterate and even if they could read, there was no access to a Bible or any scriptural teaching. It was an age of superstition and magic, where visions, signs and wonders were claimed by many. Regardless of motivation, an individual underwent a specific ceremony before he could be considered a crusader. The ceremony evolved somewhat over the centuries, but its general outlines remained the same. A would be crusader sought out an ecclesiastical authority (a priest, bishop or higher cleric) and swore to carry out an armed pilgrimage in support of the Holy Places. He then usually received a cloth cross which he could place on his clothes to signify his new status. Crusading vows were usually taken in response to official preaching of a crusade by licensed churchmen. They were supposed to be taken only by fighting men or those who could otherwise contribute to a military effort, and they were not to be taken without the permission of the crusader s wife, since his long absence would deprive her of what was delicately called marital rights (Pope Innocent III, in need of troops for his crusading proposals, changed this in the thirteenth century, but in doing so he violated longstanding Church tradition and the plain intentions of canon law). The crusader s property and people were then placed under the protection of the Church, and he was to begin preparing to leave. If he did not discharge his vow within a certain period of time, he might be excommunicated by the church until he kept his word. Crusaders were often offered an indulgence in return for participation in the hardships of a crusade. The indulgence was later seriously abused, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Delegates who did not sign the Constitution had reasonings that ranged from simply going home early to outright protest. One of the reasons was that the Constitution lacked a Bill of Rights. Individuals who did not sign because of this included Elbridge Gerry, Richard Henry Lee, and George Mason. These men believed the Constitution lacked sufficient protection of individual rights and felt a Bill of Rights should be added. Anti Federalists believed that aspects such as the necessary and proper clause and the supremacy clause gave too much power to the central government and violated state s rights. The Anti Federalists also had issues that were specific to each branch. The Constitution gave the President the power to pardon, the Anti Federalists believed this awarded the executive branch too much power and created a leader similar to Britain s monarch. They argued that legislature had too few of seats, and that senators term limits were too long. The judicial branch was granted the right to review the Constitution, and the Anti Federalists thought the branch would manipulate and interpret the Constitution to benefit themselves. Furthermore, Anti Federalists believed that the national government was too far from the average citizen and wouldn t be able to respond to concerns on a state and local basis. Because the Constitution was written behind closed doors, the Anti Federalists believed that the American people should know exactly what rights the new document gave them, therefore a Bill of Rights was necessary. The federalists responded to these objections in many ways. One of the most memorable was the Federalist Papers written by John Jay, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton. These papers outlined the benefits of a strong central government in order to persuade New York to ratify the Constitution. Debates between Federalists and Anti Federalists broke out in multiple states, thus leading to a decelerated ratification process. In the Christian Bible, having this book placed last and the Gospels following it, there is a fulfillment of the prophecies. In almost every case, the location of a biblical book relative to other canonical books, whether in terms of the grouping in which it is placed, or the book(s) that follow or precede it, has hermeneutical significance for the reader who seeks meaning in the text (Goswell, 688). Sammy is completely corrupt, wanting power and money for himself. He misses his opportunity as a politician to help his district, make positive changes that could improve the lives of the black people all around him. Instead he chooses to be a gangster, promoting gambling and prostitution, and maintaining a criminal undertone in Chicago. Sara Andrews was equally calculating. Dubois describes Sara on page 84 as having a good intellect without moral scruples and a clear idea of the communal and social value of virginity, respectability, and good clothes . Dubois is saying she is cunning, and in tune with what is expected in society. She knows what she needs to do to be successful, and like Sammy, she wants all of the power for herself. Sammy and Sara both lived a dog eat dog existence, and were willing to sacrifice others on their way to the top. It is important to note that Dubois recognized individualism as a major obstacle for racial progress, and Sammy and Sara demonstrated the issues stemming from individualism in Dark Princess. Unfortunately, others failed to capitalize on Dubois foresight. Today there is an equal lack of cohesiveness amongst African Americans, due to varying socioeconomic levels. Socrates beings the argument with his desire to show that in all opposites there is of necessity a similar alternation. by this he means that something cannot become greater without before being less. Within the process of changing from one opposite to another there are intermediates which are the agents of change. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this question we see the opposites theory presented in a more spiritual light. He explains that death comes from the prior existence of life, and life comes from the presence of soul. So, there for soul is on a continuous cycle of life and death. Since his argument states that everything in life comes from opposites why should the cycle of life and death be presented any differently? While the two opposites are clear one of the intermediates is much more abstract. One of the two process or generations is visible. For surly the act of dying is visible. The presence of death can be seen while the creation of life is less obvious. Socrates then outlines his belief of soul leaving the body after death. During which time the soul returns to a place of an existence before man. Socrates introduces this concept of a world beyond human exist where souls reside intermediately between the death of the vessel and the eventual birth of the dead into the world of the living. This theory aims to demonstrate how life works but constantly shifting between two opposites. If these rules are meant to apply to sleeping, waking and all the other accidents; why should they not apply to living and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before becoming a state it was nothing but land and hills that the three major tribes lived on. The three major tribes in late Mississippi were the Chickasaw, Choctaw, and the Natchez tribes. The Natchez tribe was made up of 4500 people. The mostly migrated in the southwestern part of Mississippi. The Chickasaw tribe was made up of 15,000 people before coming in contact with the Europeans. In the 1600 s the tribe had 5,000 before the United States government forced them to leave their homelands. The Choctaw and the Chickasaw were said to be a part of the same tribe because of their related language. In the early 19th century the Chickasaw tribe had trouble finding meat so they resorted to become successful farmers. In the civil war the Chickasaw fought with the confederacy.
