Summary Of Imogen In Cloten
Imogen attaches her lover s personhood to his belongings, creating an association between one s
clothing and moral character, demonstrating the Elizabethan belief that materials were a physical
manifestation of one s identity.
After Imogen s refusal, Cloten is spurred to action and desires revenge, mentioning Posthumus
clothing four times before the scene ends, emphasizing how Cloten s materialistic mindset
identifies Posthumus primarily through his clothing (II.III.156, 158, 172, 180). As the play
progresses and Cloten learns of Imogen s whereabouts, he acquires some of Posthumus clothes and
plans, With that suit upon my / back, will I ravish her (III.V.163 164). By raping Imogen in
Posthumus clothes, Cloten seeks to revenge Imogen s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Imogen s alter ego of Fidele allows her to experience new privileges, such as joining a hunt, that
she was previously denied because she was a woman, demonstrating a clear discrimination based on
gender (III.IV.107). Though crossdressing, Imogen is able to evade social gender rules, something
which those in power neither supported nor encouraged (Baker 313).
Imogen s maintains her disguise until the final scene when she pressures Iachimo into confessing
his trickery. Because he doesn t recognize Imogen, Iachimo admits he tricked Posthumus into
thinking Imogen was unfaithful so he could win the ring. Outraged, Posthumus hits Fidele,
thinking he played a role in Imogen s demise (V.V.268). Imogen s outfit that initially equated her
with the other men in the play s patriarchal society now negatively affects her by making it
acceptable for her to be hit. She immediately discards the identity of Fidele and reverts back to a
woman s place in society as a virtuous daughter and most constant wife (V.V.542 546). Despite the
freedom Imogen finds through her male disguise, the scene uses her re domestication to remind the
audience of the early modern belief that women s submission and obedience to their husbands and
fathers was considered best for society.
Furthermore, Cymbeline not only uses

King Leopold II And Heart Of Darkness
Leopold II was born in Brussels, Belgium, on April 9, 1835. He was the second King of the
Belgians, and is mainly remembered for the founding and the exploitation of the Congo. King
Leopold became leader of the Congo and brutally killed ten million Africans. Leopold used Force
Publique (FP) to commit the atrocities that he himself did not do. In 1876, Leopold formed an
organization called Association Internationale Africaine which enslaved the people of the Congo,
amputated body parts, forced Africans into labor, and starved them to death. I can relate this
information to Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness in many ways. First, both events took place in
the Congo, in Africa. Second, King Leopold is very similar to the character Kurtz in the

Some time ago, I walked with a young woman who had lost her mother to cancer and was living
with acquaintances. As we were talking, I asked her a question that I love to ask, which is; If
you could be doing anything right now, what would that be? She told me that she was a trained
nurse and wanted to get a job as a labor and delivery nurse, and to have her own place. Well, my
sister just so happens to be a labor and delivery nurse in Orange County. So I made the

Egyptian Pyramid Construction
Thousands of years ago, the ancient Egyptians used different type of stone materials to build the
Great Pyramids as it is known, Egypt is a very rich country with stones that it was referred to as
the state of stone . It has a great amount of various limestone formation which the Egyptians used to
call the white stone . Egypt is also rich with sandstone, but it was not really used that often during
that era.
Most of these materials were not that rough. They used low grade limestone to build the pyramid
core, and fine white limestone to employ for the outer casing as well as to cover interior walls,
also pink granite was more often used on inner walls. Basalt was one of the most common material
used for flooring, it is a volcanic stone formed because of a quick cooling of basaltic lava. ... Show

The stone was a poor quality material, it was layered in regular, strong formations with half a
meter thickness. It was grained with yellow to greenish gray shading. The Egyptians used a thin
layer of clay to separate the limestone layers from each other.
According to the history, most temples of Egypt, especially in the north area, incorporated a
mound of earth to represent a symbol of the original site of all life. The Egyptians started shaping
such mounds as a small hill of earth or sand, but then these mounds eventually took the form of a
small pyramid carved from a single block of stone.
Therefore, it looks like the pyramid shape represented the idea of their belief that a new life,
emerging from a mound of earth to be bathed in the light and warmth of the

Jean Watson Influence On The Structure Of Dna
Sixty five years ago, the structure of DNA was unknown. In contrast to other sciences such as
chemistry, which dates to around the time of the Egyptians, and physics, which came into vogue
during the 1600s, molecular biology is truly a modern phenomenon. Until 1952, many biologists
continued to believe that proteins carried genetic material. The next year, In 1953 James Watson
and Francis Crickpublished their findings on the structure of DNA. Their proposition states that
DNA consists of a double helix with alternating deoxyribose and phosphate molecules in the
backbone.
While many may attribute the structure of DNA to other scientists, it was Watson who formulated
the model. To complete this, he synthesized data uncovered by his colleges, the most famous of
which was Rosalind Franklin. Her understudy, Raymon Gosling, captured the iconic Photo 51, an X
ray diffraction photograph of DNA. This image confirms the double helical structure of DNA. Also
seen in the image is the sugar phosphate backbone. Another influence on Watson s conclusions was
the work of Erwin Chargaff, who suggests that there are four ... Show more content on

Debates rage on whether Rosalind Franklin would have come to the same conclusion about Photo
51. Watson also brought in information from Chargaff, among others, to polish his formulation.
From his work and mindset, one sees that a scientist must be curious about an unsolved problem
and strive to complete it. For example, after meeting Maurice Wilkins and hearing about his X ray
refraction technique, Watson believed in the possibility that he could deduce the structure of DNA,
and he pushed after his new found goal. Of equal importance is the ability to integrate data from
different sources into a coherent argument. This integration is why James Watson was the most
influential in discovering the structure of

The Importance Of Gender Equality In The Military
In a world where political correctness reigns supreme and gender equality are major concerns and
talking points for a lot of people, there are some circumstances where gender equality just does not
make sense. There are times when pushing for gender equality causes only harm and in fact,
damages its own cause. In the Military, this has taken the form of pushing to have women be
allowed to serve in front lines combat units. In the major political push for genderequalityin all jobs,
some of these pushes for change will cause only harm. Women should not be allowed to serve in
front line combat units because of their biology they are physically incapable of the same things
as men are, there will be unit cohesion problems that do not exist and there are health concerns for
women have that men do not have. Beginning in early 2013, the Secretary of Defense chose to
rescind the policy known as the Direct Combat Exclusion Rule (Batterton, Hale, Murphy, 2016).
This policy is what restricted front line combat units to men only. After this policy was rescinded,
the different branches of the Military have opened their training programs to allow women the
chance to pass them. The problem with this is that along with opening these programs to women,
they have had to modify the training programs to be gender neutral (Roulo, 2013). This means that
if the standards are too high for women to pass, the tests would seem biased. However, if we lower
them, then the recruits which pass the

Real Estate Easement Essay
In previous articles, we ve discussed easements or right of ways and how they are used. Generally
speaking, an easement or right of way grants one person or entity the right to use another person or
entity s property. As is obvious, this can come with a number of complications; particularly if the
situation is approached without the necessary information and knowledge regarding how to handle
the situation. So previous articles about how to handle an easement already in place are important,
but that s not the only important discussion when it comes to easements in southern California real
estate. What do you do when you need to create an easement?

Easement by Necessity Through Court Order In some instances, the court can designate an
easement out of necessity. For instance, if a piece of property exists that has no access to the public
roadway because it is surrounded by properties owned by others, they must be allowed to exit/enter
their own property.
3. A Deed Conveying Property Designating an Easement This often occurs when a landowner
wants to sell a portion of a larger piece of land. For instance, a land owner could sell the back 20
acres of their 50 acre piece of land. In order for the new owner to access public roadways from their
land, an easement would be created in the deed and a portion of the front acreage (still held by the
original owner) would be designated to be used for access.
4. Through Condemnation for the Public Good Local, state or federal government can condemn a
property or a portion of a property under eminent domain or order to utilize the land for a public
project as long as it is deemed as for the public good. In this instance, the current owner of the
land will often have dissenting views as to what is actually for the public good. In many cases, this
type of easement could occur in order for the completion of new highways,

Essay on RFID Tagging
Radio Frequency Identification Detection (RFID) is a technology that involves a silicon chip and
an antenna, which together is called a TAG. The tags emit radio signal to devices that are called
readers. One of the things that is important to know about the Electronic Product Code (EPC) is
that some people use RFIDand EPC interchangeably, but they are different.
Would RFID work to track Products? Well, Bar Codes require a line of sight, so a person(s) with a
bar code reader has to get right up on the bar code and scan it. When you are thinking about a
supply chain, somebody in the warehouse would have to look at every single case. With RFID, all
of the cases on the pallet would be picked up by a single swipe of a reader, even the ones ... Show

The Influence Of The Mass Media In The Media
Mass media has a huge influence on communities across America. There are numerous mass
media platforms like the internet, tv, magazines, and radio. Through the use of this platforms,
messages are able to be given to the public at a huge and rapid rate. Information can at times,
however, be misleading. Due to the fact that the media has a huge influence on the views of
people, it is often used as a way to deteriorate the image of a certain group or individual,
underrepresenting them in the entertainment business. In the 1950 s African Americans were
underrepresented in the media, accounting for 6% of tv characters. Their numbers increased to
16% in the 1980 s (Rodriguez 13). That, however, has not been the case for the Hispanic/ Latino
community. The Hispanic / Latino community are underrepresented in the mass media, being
portrayed negatively in their moments in the media. This research began on November
November 7, 2017. Online databases and books were all acquired through the Augsburg
University Library. I looked for peer reviewed sources in order to make my research as credible
as possible. The population interest were Latinos and the media during after the 1950 s. The
process began by reading all sources and identifying the most relevant information to my topic. As
information was gathered, some of the sources that were of little to no use were taken out of the
research. When going through the information gathering while reading, there was a lot of focus
given on the data and its analysis done by the researchers. Once information was gathered on one
source, I would move onto the next. To organize the information gathered, it was classified by
focus. In example, if in two sources news coverage was the topic, they would be grouped together.
Once the information was organized and sorted out, the information was compared and analysed.
Than it would be put into the actual research paper. The research done gives a general
representation of the representation of Latinos on the media. In some states, this would not apply as
they have local Latino tv channels, ran by the community itself. Some of this information was
included in the research itself.
Latinos have always been underrepresented in the

Theme Of Communication In The Movie Crash
An Analysis of the Communication used in Crash by Paul Haggis The movie Crash shows the
hostility between characters of different backgrounds, primarily through their interactions and
dialect, to prove that everyone experiences discrimination and racism in their lives no matter their
race, religion, sexual orientation, age, etc. Director Paul Haggis focuses on language, behavior, and
stereotypes to convey the different kinds of communicationused between the diverse races and
ethnicity groups that are shown throughout the film. The textbook, Understanding Human
Communication, defines human communication as the process of creating meaning through
symbolic interactions, but this process is much more intricate than this definition makes it out to be
(Adler, 5). Through my own analysis of the plot and various storylines, I will discuss the concepts
and principles of communication used to portray the injustice of racial stereotyping and persecution
in today s society.
Three specific concepts of communication from Understanding Human Communication I
recognized in the movie include the process of forming self perception and perceptions of others,
stereotyping, and the power of language, more specifically connotative language. Stereotyping is
defined as the perceptual process of applying exaggerated beliefs associated with a categorizing
system (Adler, 49). In Crash, two young men interact for the first time toward the end of the plot, a
white police officer named

Iago As A Sociopath In Shakespeare s Othello
Iago as a Sociopath in Othello Trust is fundamental to life, but knowing who to trust can be quite
difficult. Having faith in the wrong person could lead to unfortunate outcomes. In William
Shakespeare s Othello, many characters are blinded by Iago s false personality, causing them to put
their trust in someone who eventually makes them feel cheated and betrayed. After reviewing the
term sociopath, defined as, a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme
antisocial attitudes and behaviour (English Oxford), one could say that Iagohas antisocial
personality disorder. The traits Iago displays throughout the play, such as his use of manipulation,
his abusive behavior toward others, his lack of remorse, and his deceitfulness make him a true
sociopath. According to Mayo Clinic, a sociopath uses charm or wit to manipulate others for
personal gain or personal pleasure (Mayo Clinic). Iago exhibits this characteristic by manipulating
Roderigo for the whole duration of the play. He traps Roderigo in his web by making empty
promises and choosing his words carefully, as seen in the following quote by Iago:
I grant indeed it hath not appeared, and your suspicion is not without wit and judgment. But,
Roderigo, if thou hast that in thee indeed, which I have greater reason to believe now than ever I
mean purpose, courage and valor this night show it. If thou the next night following enjoy not
Desdemona, take me from this world with treachery and devise engines for my life. (4.2.243 250)
In this scene, Roderigo is sceptical of Iago s plan and puts a sword to his throat. Iago swiftly
maneuvers out of this situation by telling Roderigo how his judgement is brave and now he
believes that Roderigo will do whatever it takes to get Desdemona s love. Iago says that if
Roderigo does not complete the plan, then he cannot try to kill him. The fooled Roderigo is
shocked and is now completely loyal to Iago who barely got out of this bad situation using his
manipulation skills. Later in the play, Roderigo finally recognizes that Iago has been taking
advantage of him saying, O damned Iago! O inhumane dog! (5.1.74). As seen by his constant
manipulative actions and dialogue, Iago reveals himself as a sociopath.

Urinary Tract Infection And Its Effect On The Body System
Urinary Tract Infection and its Effect on the Body System Urinary tract infection also referred to as
UTI is the second most common infection in the body. The urinary tract system in your body which
includes the bladder and kidneys makes urine and carries it out of your body. When germs get into
the urinary tract system an infection is typically formed. UTI s are usually caused when unwanted
bacteria enters through the urethraand begins to multiply (www.mayoclinic.org). The bacteria that
are normally found in the large intestine and feces are the most common source of a UTI. Sexual
intercourse is one of the common causes of urinary tract infections for women, causing bacteria
to move up into the urinary tract. Sometimes in a hospital setting a patient who is on a catheter
can also get a urinary tract infection. The two types of urinary tract infections are infection of the
bladder (Cystitis) and infection of the urethra (urethritis). Cystitis is a type of UTI which is
caused by Escherichia coli, a type of bacteria that is normally found in the gastrointestinal tract
(www.webmd.com). Although sexual intercourse can cause this type of urinary tract infection, it
doesn t necessarily mean that you have to be sexually active to develop it. Every female is at risk
for this type of UTI due to the shortness of distance from the urethral opening to the bladder and
the urethra to the anus. Urethritis is a type of UTI which typically occurs when bacteria from the

Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire Essay
Clotilde Terranova was one of the 146 victims of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. The
Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire was a fire on the top three floors of the Asch Building in
Brooklyn, New York. No one knows the real cause of the fire. Most believe it started when
someone tossed a burning cigarette bud into the scrap bin on the eighth floor. The building itself

some aspects I do not agree with, I do, however, believe this is a good policy because it preserves
the innocent minds of readers from inappropriate or unsuitable content.
As a child, I have enjoyed Disney s rendition of Alice in Wonderland. But as I read Lewis Carroll

The Effect Of Ph Solution Of Feed Phase On The Removal...
Figure. 7. Effect of pH solution of feed phase on the removal efficiency of citric acid
Transport conditions: Feed phase: citric acid 10 2 M, pH 2 12. Stripping phase: deionized water,
pH=6.8. Membrane: 12.60 cm2 of surface area, Calix[4]resorcinarene (0.15 g/g mixture of
polymers), 0.03 ml 2 NPOE/g mixture of polymers. Values obtained after 5 days of experimentation.
3.8 Stability of PIMs
In this study, one PIM was reused, whereas the feed and strip phases were replaced after one cycle
with fresh ones in 5 experiments and each experiment lasted from 4 days. As observed in Fig. 8.
The initial flux of PIM shows a gradual decrease with increasing of cycle s reuse, which may be
caused by the loss of carrier from membrane [37]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conclusion
In this study, a polymer inclusion membrane was prepared and succevally applied for the removal
of citric acid from synthetic wastewater. The mixture of CTA and CA was found to be the optimum
base polymer for quantitative transport of citric acid. Moreover, the nature of carrier especially
alkyl chain length, stirring rate, and pH of feed phase are also important factors affecting the
increased rate of citric acid transport. Hence, from results obtained it can be seen that the
investigated calix[4]resorcinarene are effective extractants for citric acid and that their extraction
abilities depend on the alkyl chain length of the substituent in the macrocycle. Choosing the
appropriate length of alkyl chain, very selective system can be designed. The excellent efficiency
for the citric acid transport by the proposed PIM system reveals its potential application for the
selective removal, concentration and purification of citric acid from different media.

The Impact Of Sports On Sports Industry
The study of Pitts et al. (1994), the books of Parks, et al (1998) and additional studies including
Meek (1997) allow us to reach a definition of sport industry; the sports industry is a market wherein
the products manufactured and offered to its customers are sport, recreation and fitness related and
may be activities, amenities or people.
Sports we support, follow and play today are part of our day to day lives and we forget that over
250 years ago the sports established today did not yet exist and the few that did would be
unappealing and unrecognisable to the sports fans of today. Looking back to the history of sports

The Industrial Revolution, beginning in Great Britain, quickly spread throughout the world. This
time period saw the mechanisation of agriculture and textile manufacturing and a revolution in
power (i.e., steam ships and railroads) and had a massive effect on social, cultural and economic
conditions. The Industrial Revolution had an enormous effect on Sport in Britain. Many changes
that may appear far from linked to sport had a direct effect on how sport was played, when sport
was played, and how much more sport was encompassed into everyday life. The revolution saw
mass migration into the main urban, city areas of an area. In order for workers to travel to work
and also for factories and mills to deliver their goods transport was developed quickly. This
development helped towns and cities grow, and it also helped sport surge in popularity. Teams
now had the option, and availability to travel to different towns and play teams from all over the
country. In return supporters were also allowed to travel and support their local team or factory
team. This meant that more people could see sport and gain interest. This was helpful in
encouraging people, which would increase participation levels. The ability to travel quickly and
conveniently between towns and cities improved sporting contacts. However, the industrial
revolution could not have been seen as development. During the revolution a large class divide was

These organizing principles will determine how the elements in a scene will be grouped
together..The role of the Gestalt principles in perceptual organization gives everyone the ability to
see objects as continues, simple, similar, and proximity. Continuation allows the human brainto
look at a coil of rope as one continuos rope and ropes that overlap each other as two separate
strands of rope. If a person did not have the ability of continuation simple processes would take a
lot longer while a person uncoiled the entire ropes to make sure that it was one continuos rope.
Pragnanz gives a person the ability to look at something in a simplier form when there are more
complex ways to look at it. Such is the case with the Olympic five circles, the prananz theory
gives the human the ability to see it as five rings flowing together but the brain without the
ability may look at it as nine different objects that did not have any flow or connection to them
at all. Similarity is when similar items will appear to be grouped together. Grouping can occure
when there are items that are of similar shape, size, or orientation. Proximity is very important on
how the brain can group similar object together and how by changing the color of some objects
will redirect the brain to a different patternization. Such is the case when a block of dots that are 7

Hannah Simpson Grant (Williams). His first name was decided upon by his maternal
grandmother while his middle name was an alternate form of his father s favorite literary
character, whose name was Odysseus (Schlesinger Jr.). His parents had three daughters and two
sons after Ulysses. During his childhood, he was shy but had a large passion for horses (Grant,

After the war, Grant served as interim Secretary of War for several months in 1867 through 1868.
During this time, he became permanently estranged from then President Andrew Johnson. The
estrangement was caused over conflict about the Tenure of Office Act between President Johnson

Grant s political supporters were mostly Republicans, especially the Radical Republicans. In
1868, Ulysses S. Grant was nominated as president and ran again Horatio Seymour, who was a

Why Is Influenza Important In 1918
Doctors tried everything they can think of to treat patients with influenza such as primeval heal ing
of bleeding patients, to administering oxygen, and to developing new vaccines. Only a par ticular
healing method helped to contract the Spanish influenza was transfusing blood from re covered
patients to new victims, which in turned exhibited slightly hint of success in treating pa tients . For
the time being, the general public used home tonics of every description to moderate the symptoms.
Nonetheless, did not showed any evidence of stopping the spread of the disease. A unique

It all started with Titus Oates wanting to kill King Charles II, in order to restore Britain to being
Catholic once again (instead of Protestant) He named his plot to kill the king the Popish Plot . After
he had planned to fulfill his plot, he would then make his Catholic brother the king and he intended
to kill all Protestants because of their beliefs. He eventually was arrested in 1685 and was sentenced
to a lifetime imprisonment, with regular whippings. William III (the King) then saw that this was a
cruel punishment, and set him free in 1688. This made Britain aware that there was a need for a
law, against cruel and unusual punishments, and the case of Titus Oates was a perfect example for
the need of this amendment. That is how the idea of an amendment against cruel and unusual
punishments started. There is a lot of controversy, however, regarding the eighth amendment. The
most commonly brought up factor when discussing violations of the eighth amendment, is the
death penalty. Many believe that the death penalty is a violation of the eighth amendment because
they say it is unconstitutional. One problem with the eighth amendment is that there are some who
are executed but later found innocent. 4% of all individuals killed from the death penalty were later

Risk And Significance Of Fund Management Fees
Two funds were chosen in order to determine the performance of each investment by observing the

This assumption is held true in regards to RYCPX and XLP. XLP had three year HPR of 0.73
and a five year HPR of 1.01 compared to RYCPX s returns of 0.64 and 0.82. The difference is
largely due to the tax efficiency factor etf s have compared to mutual funds. Both funds are
subject to the same capital gains and dividend income tax treatment, however etf s are structured
in a way that it realizes a much smaller amount of capital gains. Exchange traded funds do not
participate in the daily selling of securities that mutual funds do. As a result, etf s incur a small or
no capital gains yield which leads to a little or no capital gains tax.
The standard deviation and Sharpe ratio are used to assess the risk each investment holds relative
to the returns it expects to yield. RYCPX generated a standard deviation of 0.13 for a three year
period and a standard deviation of .11 for a five year period. It also expected annual returns to be
.19 for a three year period and .16 for a five year period. Therefore, future funds can be expected to
annually gain between .06 and .32 for a three year period and .05 and .27 for a five year period.

also expected annual returns to be .21 for a three year period and .16 for a five year period.

Comparison of Lord of the Flies with Peter Pan
The Boys
The books Lord of the Flies by William Golding, and Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, have similar
characteristics that will be compared and contrasted in this paper. Lord of the Flies takes place on
a deserted island where about 20 British boys have crashed during World War II. Peter Pan
,
dissimilarly, tells the tale of a boy who doesn t want to grow up and lives on the magical island of
Neverland with the Lost Boys. Both Lord of the Flies and Peter Pan have common themes,
symbols, and characters, but, at the same time, differ. Lord of the Flies and Peter Pan share quite a

The conch, that states whoever holds it is allowed to speak, possesses great authority. It also
shows that the Island Boys are trying to maintain their humanity by having an organization system.
The conch symbolizes brains and intelligence. It was Piggy s idea to have this rule, and he was
the main enforcer of it. When the conch shattered as Piggy died, it represented the loss of all hope.
Their whole system had officially ended.
In Peter Pan a significant symbol is that of the kiss and thimble. Wendy gives Peter a kiss ,
which is actually a thimble, out of her newfound affection for him. Peter, however, doesn t
realize the significance of it, and naturally gives her an acorn in return. This act of giving kisses
is only seen as significant to Wendy at the time. Later, when the acorn saves Wendy s life, Peter
grasps the importance of it. This exchanging of kisses is also representing Wendy s growing up.
She has that yearning for romance that most young girls do, and has sought to find it in Peter.
The second set of symbols is not physical; instead they are heard. In Lord of the Flies, when the
boys kill a pig, they chant, Kill the pig. Cut her throat. Spill her blood. (pg. 69) When this
rhythmic shouting begins, death is always near; whether it is of a pig or a human. The clock that
ticks from the crocodile in Peter Pan has a similar meaning. Both evoke fear into

Health Reporting Has Significant Public Health Implications
Health reporting has significant public health implications (Tang Peng, 2015, p. 187). Media usage
through radio, film, television or print, is a resourceful and valuable method to communicate health
awareness and health promotion (Mason, Gardner, Outlaw O Grady, 2014). Newspapers are a
valuable form of communication as 75% of American adults report newspaper utilization as a
source for health information (Tang Peng, 2015). Although effective on many accounts, this form
of print media has its disadvantages as national newspapers are intended to reach a wide audience
and does not necessarily reach the target population, such as the ruralsetting (Mason et al., 2013).
Such is the case as with this assignment. Elizabeth City is the largest city in northeastern North
Carolina, and national papers are not routinely delivered to households or larger businesses, such
as the hospital. In order to physically locate a national paper, a trip was necessary to the local
coffee shop, and the only national paper available was USA Today.
USA Today does not have a designated health section; however, on the bottom right of page 3A
of the September 1, 2016, edition, the first health article was featured, written by Liz Szabo. Liz

While at post one night Hemingway was first wounded by an Austrian mortar shell, then the same
night he was further wounded by machine gun fire while he was carrying an Italian soldier to
safety. Though badly wounded his injuries were not fatal; all his injures where contained to his
legs (www.timelesshemingway.com). Hemingway spent five days in a field hospital before an
excruciating train trip to Milan. In Milan things took an upward turn when surgery was successful.
Hemingway was regarded as a hero and reported in newspapers and newsreels at home as the first
American wounded in Italy (TimelessHemingway 2). It is debatable whether this was true but no
matter, Hemingway was enjoying himself.
World War One was the setting of many of Hemingway s stories. He used his personal
experiences as their basis but enhanced them greatly. In 1929 Hemingway published A Farewell
to Arms; the novel that many critics consider to be the best ever written about World War One
(Burgess 56). It is based on Hemingway s personal experiences during the war. The main
character, Lt. Frederic Henry, is wounded, just as Hemingway was. He is hospitalized and falls in
love with a nurse. Hemingway also fell in love with his wartime nurse. But Hemingway took the
characters further than his wartime experience. He created action from later experiences. He was
very good at putting things together. He made up whatever he needed to suit his purposes
(Hemingway 87). If the actual events worked, he stuck

Qualitative Research In Health Care

Altarum will conduct a set of qualitative research interviews with a panel of 15 payer or resource

services delivery, it has been highlighted that one set standard of rules for reducing low value

This process begins with each individual expert prepared to engage half of the interviewees by
providing a supplemental overview and seeking permission to record the interview. With a
foundation rooted in qualitative research best practices, semi structured interviews will take place
that meets our identified topical trajectory with the ability to diverge. Deviation may momentously
occur when the interviewee reveals new approaches and/or recommendations that challenge
disparities in the delivery of care. These incidents are gravely invaluable to data collection and
additionally supports the significance of capturing each interview by recording. Researchers that do
not record or have a secondary route to capturing their interviews have to focus on taking their own
notes during the process which often produces unreliable summaries and diminishes the affinity
between the interviewee researcher. Both aspects in qualitative research are necessary when it
comes to fostering an environment that allows interviewees to extend our knowledge while
preserving the integrity of the data being collected. Semi structured interviews are less controlled
but still warrants uniformity in information obtained. Moreover, this method sustains replication for
enhancing the matrix while significantly reducing limitations on what is captured. This is often a

The Psychology s Credibility And Usefulness
Introduction The general public has doubts about the psychology s credibility and usefulness
(Lilienfeld, 2012). These misconceptions have been tied to possible sources of skepticism such as
illusions of understanding, psychology s problematic public face, and individual s hindsight bias
(Lilienfeld, 2012). This skepticism must exist for a reason and it is crucial to understand why the
general public finds behavioral scienceresearch less credible than that of other scientific disciplines
often described as harder sciences.
Methodology biases in research do occur, which can make individuals question scientific evidence s

Political identification can be used to create an in group out group affect that motivates individuals
to believe or disbelieve scientific evidence. If psychological methods appeared more technology
based, similar to those perceived in hard neurosciences, individuals might form their assumptions
about the scientific evidence to reflect these biases, when motivated by a strongly held political

evidence could provide a better understanding of how information can be presented to the general

Do you like eating something sweet? You may say yes, or no. But no matter what you answer, it

potato are mostly made of a kind of sugar called starch. Besides of eating main food, most of us
will eat some snacks, like candy, potato chips, or have some soft drinks. It seems this kind of life is
normal, but WTO (2015) suggests that an adult male should reduce the sugarintake to around 8

Large Pay Package In The Auto Industry
One of the major issues in the auto industry is the radically large pay packages given to CEOs,
and executives compared to that of your commen worker. We will discuss if the compensation
that are received by these executives hold no merit in their worth. Even though through 2007 and
2010 CEOs have had substantial cuts in their salaries ranging from eleven to thirty percent, due
to reform in the industry the pay and or compensation packages have not decreased. Through
long term and short term incentives executive aren t really feeling the losses. While US based
auto workers hired before 2007 have not had a raise in almost ten years. According to a study done
by THE BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS the average hourly earnings of product and

Sadly, the fact of the matter is that is highly unlikely. Most CEOs would most likely reform their
packages to appease the public for a small amount of time. The problem with this is that people
like money and people like having nice things. so with that being said the company is at a low
risk of failing unless they have other issues dealing with the likes of care quality issues,
excessive safety recalls, and other various issues that would cause a consumer lose faith in your
brand and your company. But until that happens the proverbial road is clear for what you see fit
because the economic state of America is in, they can buy a car with little to no hesitation.
Which all reverts back to money in the corporate executives deep pockets. In most cases i would
keep a neutral to middle class position, but if ask to place myself on each different end of the
financial spectrum. I could see the pros and cons for everyone in both parties. The tragic reality
is that regardless of how you think about it there is no foolproof way to have every party at
maximum satisfaction. Its is like splitting 100% three ways between the CEOs and corporate
executive, the lower level workers, and the shareholders, no matter how you do it one party will
always have .1% higher than the rest creating a

Identifying Strategies to Improve African American College...
Minorities are a growing segment of the population. However, this group continues to be
underrepresented in the area of post secondary education. Obtaining an advanced degree remains a
likely predictor of future career success. The problem facing the minority student is that barriers
persist which continue to hinder enrollment, retention, and graduation rates in institutions of higher
education. These barriers must be identified and examined and solutions offered if college
completion rates are to be increased for this population. While overall college enrollment and
graduation rates have risen for all minority groups, there continues to be concerns for this segment
of the population, particularly for African Americanstudents. Even... Show more content on

The U.S. Department of Education s Digest of Education Statistics (2010) compiles data on
educational trends and statistics in the United States. According to the digest, in 2009 African
Americans earned about 10 percent of all bachelor degrees awarded. Furthermore, about 20 percent
of African Americans currently hold a college degree. When compared to the same rates for the
white non hispanic population, African Americans are largely lagging behind. The challenges that
African Americans are facing must be met by post secondary institutions if this group is going to
continue on the path of economic and career prosperity. This need is discussed in the report
Minorities in Higher Education: Although greater access to higher education for students of color
is an absolute imperative, it is only part of the equation. Ensuring their academic success and
readiness to thrive in an interconnected world remains the ultimate goal. In a global economy,
providing greater access to post secondary education to individuals from all racial and ethnic
backgrounds remains one of the most important challenges facing our nation. Demographic changes
have increased the proportions of people of color in the United States, and our academic population
(Ryu, 2009, p. i). The relationship between ethnicity and retention in post secondary education has
been widely discussed in the literature. The

The Federal Republic Of Germany
The Federal Republic of Germany is part of the EU (European Union). Its capital is the beautiful
and globally famous city of Berlin. It is composed by the union of 16 individual states, where
people have the freedom of religion, press and free market economy. Germany has a long history,
this town, just as the majority of all the European towns, was established during the Roman
Empire. More than 200 years ago, the north and west regions of Europe were filled with Germanic
tribes, and even though Julio Caesar pushed the limits of the Roman Empire to the east of the Rhine
river, the Romans were not able to conquered that region nor north Danube, which is now known
today as the beautiful country of Germany. In 1949, the German Federal Republic became a
constitutional, parliamentary democracy. Since its reunification in 1990, the country has been
composed of 16 federal states.
After having a four hour conversation via FaceTime with a dear German friend, whom I had the
privilege of meeting back in 2013 when I first visited Germany, I summarized as much as I was
able to the history of this precious country. It was not easy due to a lot of important events that
happened but here is my summary: On November 4 of 1918, the German revolution took place
with about 40,000 marines that invaded the port of Kiel. Three years later, on November 1921,
the Sturmabteilung aka SA was formally formed by Adolf Hitler. On November of 1923, an army
coup organized by Hitler failed, but again in 1938,

Light Detection And Ranging ( Lidar )
Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) has grown to become a vital technology used in remote
sensing technology from aerial or land based platforms. Environmentalists have used LiDAR
extensively in resource mapping for conservation efforts in the past. However, one of the
promising applications of LiDAR is planning and designing of engineering projects of varying
magnitudes and complexities. Some of the outstanding drawbacks of using traditional data
acquisition methods include the amount of time spent collecting the data and the reduction of
the data during processing. Such issues are significant in engineering projects due to the
corresponding cost and safety implications. Using LiDAR from aerial platforms allows
engineers to acquire and process data quickly with high levels of accuracy as compared to the
traditional methods. LiDAR involves the use of directing single laser pulses on targets and
performing an analysis on time taken to receive the reflected pulses (Finkl, 2013). The data
collected helps in the determination of elevation details of an area. Additionally, engineers can use
the global positioning system (GPS) and digital photography with the LiDAR elevation details to
present accurate and comprehensive information about the desired location for a project. The
current paper focuses on the LiDAR data generated from aerial sources although several types of
data exist. Literature Review Aerial based LiDAR The aerial based platforms using unmanned

The Economic Impact Botswana Has Faced Because Of Their...
A geographer investigates the economic impact Botswana has faced because of their diamond
industry. In this paper I will be discussing how Botswana has economically developed as well as
the struggles the country has faced due to the diamond industry. We will also dive into how
Botswana s geographic location affects the diamondindustry.
Botswana is a small country roughly the size of Texas with a population of 1.7 million
people(insert source). About four fifths of Botswana is desert; more specifically the Kalahari
Desert. This makes Botswana what geographer s call a sub Saharan, land locked country. As a
whole Botswana covers 224,607 square miles, yet contains only 1,444,000 people, making it one
the most thinly populated countries in Africa. The eastern portion is where most people reside,
because the Kalahari Desert covers almost all the rest of the nation. Botswana s climate is a
semiarid one, consisting of very hot summers, and warm winters. Flat and rolling land makes up
the topography of Botswana, with the Kalahari in the southwest. To the right is a well displayed
picture of Botswana s topography.
In a Times Magazine article A Diamond in the Rough by Scott Beaulier in 2010. Beaulier stated,
Many economists believe in the geography hypothesis, which states that countries that are northern
and near water will prosper, while those that are southern and land locked will most likely struggle.
Botswana broke the mold on this. Botswana is both a southern and land

Roaring 20 s Vs. Swinging
Roaring 20 s vs. Swinging 60 s Taking a look back in time, so much has changed, especially in
the time period between the 1920 s and 1960 s. The 1920 s and 1960 s are two decades that have
really defined the United States culture. From flappers to hippies, jazz music to rock, and Civil
Rights movements, these two decades have helped shape the beliefs and rights we have today.
The 1920s were an age of social and political change that would change the face of history in the
United States. The 1960s are considered the most consequential and controversial decade of the
twentieth century due to the rise of feminism, the Vietnam War and political and social
atmospheres becoming divided. Despite the forty year gap between the two decades, they share
a great deal of similarities, many of which have changed history. The 1920s was a decade of
great social change and political conflicts. The roles of women have changed profoundly since the
1920s. During the time of World War 1, many women took the place of the males in factories,
hospitals, and any other place men worked. When men returned from the war, women felt they
should be entitled to the same rights as men, such as voting. This caused a great debate but in
August of 1920, this all changed; the 19th amendment was added to the Constitution, giving
women the right to vote. Women felt they were almost as superior as men once they were able to
vote. As a result, women felt they could do as they pleased. This is where the term

Focus Group Attitudes
Title ....................................
Focus Group:
The focus group consisted out of seven members and met on the 14th of February 2017, to prepare
a persuasive communication. Discussed was firstly the public opinion on the attitude object ex
offenders and then more in detail the attitudes of the target group potential employers including
hiring managers, recruitment agencies, executive search agents, recruitment consultants and heads
of human resource departments, towards ex offenders and to which obstacles these attitudes lead
for the attitude object. Afterwards, the focus group concentrated on creating ideas on how these
attitudes could be changed, to create equitable job application processes and increase employment
rates amongst ex offenders.
The data emerged from the focus group discussion shows that upon release from prison the public s

Potential employers are considered to be in high need for cognition and elaboration, as well as those
individuals had chosen to work in an industry that requires self motivation, independent thinking,
problem solving and a general interest and involvement in the economy and the labour market.
Thus, the communication will follow the elaboration likelihood model (ELM) by Petty and
Cacioppo (1986) and specifically concentrate on the central processing route, leading to an attitude
change with greater temporal persistence. To activate this route motivation and ability to process
the message are established. Then the stepwise elaboration approach to attitude change will be
applied, using the previously calibrated data from SJT. The triad of strong arguments leading to
three consecutive attitude shifts includes the presentation of the underlying problem of crime, the
solution to preventing re offending and the gain from preventing

A Separate Peace Rhetorical Analysis
Paul uses many tactics throughout his imprisonment in order to keep some control over his and
Annie s alliance. One effective method he uses is flattery, complimenting Annie in order to keep
her happy and her mood stable. His use of this move is demonstrated on page 60 in the novel,
when he calls Annie his favorite nurse. He uses it again on page 107, telling Annie that she could
not be old enough to remember the chapter plays, hinting at how she looks way younger than she
actually is. Paul uses this strategy to lighten Annie s mood and keep her happy, which is vital to
him because Annie can become very destructive and impatient when angry, consequently being the
main source of Paul s pain throughout the book. In addition to flattery, Paul

The Division Of The Nineteenth Century
The Perpetuated Division in the Nineteenth Century
The nineteenth century was an era that a lot of memorable history events had happened. Race,
place, gender and class have been perpetuated in this century and have influenced the society from
then. White people were obviously living better than black people; big cities always offered more
opportunities and chances for people to find jobs; males were admittedly getting jobs easier and
having higher salaries than females at that time; people who were in the upper class were
undoubtedly enjoying more liberty and possessing more social properties than those were in lower
class. The Civil War is considered one of the most significant history events that happened in
American history. The government abolished the slavery law after the war, which emancipated
many black people from being slaves. Also, there were many women going outside and finding
jobs on their own. But under these circumstances, there were several events that still had impacts
on people at that time and divided people by race, place, gender and class. These included the
events of H.H.Holmes and the events of Margnet Garner, which illustrated how and why race,
place, gender and class were dividing people and perpetuated in the nineteenth century. Sometimes
time can decide and perpetuate a lot of things. Living in the nineteenth century, H.H.Holmes was a
white man who made a living in Chicago and worked both as a businessman and a doctor. He lived

  • 3. Summary Of Imogen In Cloten Imogen attaches her lover s personhood to his belongings, creating an association between one s clothing and moral character, demonstrating the Elizabethan belief that materials were a physical manifestation of one s identity. After Imogen s refusal, Cloten is spurred to action and desires revenge, mentioning Posthumus clothing four times before the scene ends, emphasizing how Cloten s materialistic mindset identifies Posthumus primarily through his clothing (II.III.156, 158, 172, 180). As the play progresses and Cloten learns of Imogen s whereabouts, he acquires some of Posthumus clothes and plans, With that suit upon my / back, will I ravish her (III.V.163 164). Imogen s alter ego of Fidele allows her to experience new privileges, such as joining a hunt, that she was previously denied because she was a woman, demonstrating a clear discrimination based on gender (III.IV.107). Though crossdressing, Imogen is able to evade social gender rules, something which those in power neither supported nor encouraged (Baker 313). Imogen s maintains her disguise until the final scene when she pressures Iachimo into confessing his trickery. Because he doesn t recognize Imogen, Iachimo admits he tricked Posthumus into thinking Imogen was unfaithful so he could win the ring. Outraged, Posthumus hits Fidele, thinking he played a role in Imogen s demise (V.V.268). Imogen s outfit that initially equated her with the other men in the play s patriarchal society now negatively affects her by making it acceptable for her to be hit. She immediately discards the identity of Fidele and reverts back to a woman s place in society as a virtuous daughter and most constant wife (V.V.542 546). Despite the freedom Imogen finds through her male disguise, the scene uses her re domestication to remind the audience of the early modern belief that women s submission and obedience to their husbands and fathers was considered best for society. He was the second King of the Belgians, and is mainly remembered for the founding and the exploitation of the Congo. King Leopold became leader of the Congo and brutally killed ten million Africans. Leopold used Force Publique (FP) to commit the atrocities that he himself did not do. In 1876, Leopold formed an organization called Association Internationale Africaine which enslaved the people of the Congo, amputated body parts, forced Africans into labor, and starved them to death. Most of these materials were not that rough. The Egyptians started shaping such mounds as a small hill of earth or sand, but then these mounds eventually took the form of a small pyramid carved from a single block of stone. • 8. Jean Watson Influence On The Structure Of Dna Sixty five years ago, the structure of DNA was unknown. In contrast to other sciences such as chemistry, which dates to around the time of the Egyptians, and physics, which came into vogue during the 1600s, molecular biology is truly a modern phenomenon. Until 1952, many biologists continued to believe that proteins carried genetic material. The next year, In 1953 James Watson and Francis Crickpublished their findings on the structure of DNA. Their proposition states that DNA consists of a double helix with alternating deoxyribose and phosphate molecules in the backbone. While many may attribute the structure of DNA to other scientists, it was Watson who formulated the model. To complete this, he synthesized data uncovered by his colleges, the most famous of which was Rosalind Franklin. Her understudy, Raymon Gosling, captured the iconic Photo 51, an X ray diffraction photograph of DNA. This image confirms the double helical structure of DNA. Also seen in the image is the sugar phosphate backbone. Another influence on Watson s conclusions was the work of Erwin Chargaff, who suggests that there are four ... Watson also brought in information from Chargaff, among others, to polish his formulation. For example, after meeting Maurice Wilkins and hearing about his X ray refraction technique, Watson believed in the possibility that he could deduce the structure of DNA, and he pushed after his new found goal. Of equal importance is the ability to integrate data from different sources into a coherent argument. This integration is why James Watson was the most influential in discovering the structure of ... • 9. The Importance Of Gender Equality In The Military In a world where political correctness reigns supreme and gender equality are major concerns and talking points for a lot of people, there are some circumstances where gender equality just does not make sense. There are times when pushing for gender equality causes only harm and in fact, damages its own cause. In the Military, this has taken the form of pushing to have women be allowed to serve in front lines combat units. In the major political push for genderequalityin all jobs, some of these pushes for change will cause only harm. Women should not be allowed to serve in front line combat units because of their biology they are physically incapable of the same things as men are, there will be unit cohesion problems that do not exist and there are health concerns for women have that men do not have. Beginning in early 2013, the Secretary of Defense chose to rescind the policy known as the Direct Combat Exclusion Rule (Batterton, Hale, Murphy, 2016). This policy is what restricted front line combat units to men only. After this policy was rescinded, the different branches of the Military have opened their training programs to allow women the chance to pass them. The problem with this is that along with opening these programs to women, they have had to modify the training programs to be gender neutral (Roulo, 2013). This means that if the standards are too high for women to pass, the tests would seem biased. However, if we lower them, then the recruits which pass the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For instance, a land owner could sell the back 20 acres of their 50 acre piece of land. In order for the new owner to access public roadways from their land, an easement would be created in the deed and a portion of the front acreage (still held by the original owner) would be designated to be used for access. 4. • 13. The Influence Of The Mass Media In The Media Mass media has a huge influence on communities across America. There are numerous mass media platforms like the internet, tv, magazines, and radio. Through the use of this platforms, messages are able to be given to the public at a huge and rapid rate. Information can at times, however, be misleading. Due to the fact that the media has a huge influence on the views of people, it is often used as a way to deteriorate the image of a certain group or individual, underrepresenting them in the entertainment business. In the 1950 s African Americans were underrepresented in the media, accounting for 6% of tv characters. Their numbers increased to 16% in the 1980 s (Rodriguez 13). That, however, has not been the case for the Hispanic/ Latino community. The Hispanic / Latino community are underrepresented in the mass media, being portrayed negatively in their moments in the media. This research began on November November 7, 2017. Online databases and books were all acquired through the Augsburg University Library. I looked for peer reviewed sources in order to make my research as credible as possible. The population interest were Latinos and the media during after the 1950 s. The process began by reading all sources and identifying the most relevant information to my topic. As information was gathered, some of the sources that were of little to no use were taken out of the research. When going through the information gathering while reading, there was a lot of focus given on the data and its analysis done by the researchers. Once information was gathered on one source, I would move onto the next. To organize the information gathered, it was classified by focus. In example, if in two sources news coverage was the topic, they would be grouped together. Once the information was organized and sorted out, the information was compared and analysed. Than it would be put into the actual research paper. The research done gives a general representation of the representation of Latinos on the media. In some states, this would not apply as they have local Latino tv channels, ran by the community itself. Some of this information was included in the research itself. • 14. Theme Of Communication In The Movie Crash An Analysis of the Communication used in Crash by Paul Haggis The movie Crash shows the hostility between characters of different backgrounds, primarily through their interactions and dialect, to prove that everyone experiences discrimination and racism in their lives no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation, age, etc. Director Paul Haggis focuses on language, behavior, and stereotypes to convey the different kinds of communicationused between the diverse races and ethnicity groups that are shown throughout the film. The textbook, Understanding Human Communication, defines human communication as the process of creating meaning through symbolic interactions, but this process is much more intricate than this definition makes it out to be (Adler, 5). Through my own analysis of the plot and various storylines, I will discuss the concepts and principles of communication used to portray the injustice of racial stereotyping and persecution in today s society. Three specific concepts of communication from Understanding Human Communication I recognized in the movie include the process of forming self perception and perceptions of others, stereotyping, and the power of language, more specifically connotative language. Stereotyping is defined as the perceptual process of applying exaggerated beliefs associated with a categorizing system (Adler, 49). • 15. Iago As A Sociopath In Shakespeare s Othello Iago as a Sociopath in Othello Trust is fundamental to life, but knowing who to trust can be quite difficult. Having faith in the wrong person could lead to unfortunate outcomes. In William Shakespeare s Othello, many characters are blinded by Iago s false personality, causing them to put their trust in someone who eventually makes them feel cheated and betrayed. After reviewing the term sociopath, defined as, a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behaviour (English Oxford), one could say that Iagohas antisocial personality disorder. The traits Iago displays throughout the play, such as his use of manipulation, his abusive behavior toward others, his lack of remorse, and his deceitfulness make him a true sociopath. According to Mayo Clinic, a sociopath uses charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or personal pleasure (Mayo Clinic). Iago exhibits this characteristic by manipulating Roderigo for the whole duration of the play. He traps Roderigo in his web by making empty promises and choosing his words carefully, as seen in the following quote by Iago: I grant indeed it hath not appeared, and your suspicion is not without wit and judgment. But, Roderigo, if thou hast that in thee indeed, which I have greater reason to believe now than ever I mean purpose, courage and valor this night show it. If thou the next night following enjoy not Desdemona, take me from this world with treachery and devise engines for my life. (4.2.243 250) In this scene, Roderigo is sceptical of Iago s plan and puts a sword to his throat. Iago swiftly maneuvers out of this situation by telling Roderigo how his judgement is brave and now he believes that Roderigo will do whatever it takes to get Desdemona s love. Iago says that if Roderigo does not complete the plan, then he cannot try to kill him. The fooled Roderigo is shocked and is now completely loyal to Iago who barely got out of this bad situation using his manipulation skills. Later in the play, Roderigo finally recognizes that Iago has been taking advantage of him saying, O damned Iago! O inhumane dog! (5.1.74). As seen by his constant manipulative actions and dialogue, Iago reveals himself as a sociopath. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When germs get into the urinary tract system an infection is typically formed. UTI s are usually caused when unwanted bacteria enters through the urethraand begins to multiply (www.mayoclinic.org). The bacteria that are normally found in the large intestine and feces are the most common source of a UTI. Sexual intercourse is one of the common causes of urinary tract infections for women, causing bacteria to move up into the urinary tract. Sometimes in a hospital setting a patient who is on a catheter can also get a urinary tract infection. The two types of urinary tract infections are infection of the bladder (Cystitis) and infection of the urethra (urethritis). Cystitis is a type of UTI which is caused by Escherichia coli, a type of bacteria that is normally found in the gastrointestinal tract (www.webmd.com). Although sexual intercourse can cause this type of urinary tract infection, it doesn t necessarily mean that you have to be sexually active to develop it. Every female is at risk for this type of UTI due to the shortness of distance from the urethral opening to the bladder and the urethra to the anus. Urethritis is a type of UTI which typically occurs when bacteria from the GI tract is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In America, The Incident on King Street is well known as the Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre is a crucial event in America s early history and is a leading factor in our freedom from Great Britain. It is a leading cause for the American Revolution and made people look at British rule in a different light. According to Hiller B. The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5th, 1770, but events lead up to an accident of this severity for months, and even years before. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire was a fire on the top three floors of the Asch Building in Brooklyn, New York. No one knows the real cause of the fire. Most believe it started when someone tossed a burning cigarette bud into the scrap bin on the eighth floor. The building itself was fireproof, but there was so many flammable things inside the building that caused the fire to spread so rapidly. Terranova was on the tenth floor during the fire. She was the only death among the approximately seventy workers on the tenth floor. When Clotilde Terranova first immigrated to America from Italy, she was 19 years old. • 20. Why Do School Books Should Be Banned From Schools Books are an essential to both school and after school life. They are the messages that have shaped our country. Unfortunately, many books have been banned from school libraries all across the United States for their messages or the themes they possess. While these books could be read out of school hours, they have been banned from schoollibraries or reading centers. While there are some aspects I do not agree with, I do, however, believe this is a good policy because it preserves the innocent minds of readers from inappropriate or unsuitable content. As a child, I have enjoyed Disney s rendition of Alice in Wonderland. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conclusion In this study, a polymer inclusion membrane was prepared and succevally applied for the removal of citric acid from synthetic wastewater. The mixture of CTA and CA was found to be the optimum base polymer for quantitative transport of citric acid. Moreover, the nature of carrier especially alkyl chain length, stirring rate, and pH of feed phase are also important factors affecting the increased rate of citric acid transport. Hence, from results obtained it can be seen that the investigated calix[4]resorcinarene are effective extractants for citric acid and that their extraction abilities depend on the alkyl chain length of the substituent in the macrocycle. Choosing the appropriate length of alkyl chain, very selective system can be designed. The Industrial Revolution had an enormous effect on Sport in Britain. Many changes that may appear far from linked to sport had a direct effect on how sport was played, when sport was played, and how much more sport was encompassed into everyday life. The revolution saw mass migration into the main urban, city areas of an area. In order for workers to travel to work and also for factories and mills to deliver their goods transport was developed quickly. This development helped towns and cities grow, and it also helped sport surge in popularity. Teams now had the option, and availability to travel to different towns and play teams from all over the country. In return supporters were also allowed to travel and support their local team or factory team. This meant that more people could see sport and gain interest. Continuation allows the human brainto look at a coil of rope as one continuos rope and ropes that overlap each other as two separate strands of rope. If a person did not have the ability of continuation simple processes would take a lot longer while a person uncoiled the entire ropes to make sure that it was one continuos rope. Pragnanz gives a person the ability to look at something in a simplier form when there are more complex ways to look at it. Such is the case with the Olympic five circles, the prananz theory gives the human the ability to see it as five rings flowing together but the brain without the ability may look at it as nine different objects that did not have any flow or connection to them at all. Similarity is when similar items will appear to be grouped together. Grouping can occure when there are items that are of similar shape, size, or orientation. Proximity is very important on how the brain can group similar object together and how by changing the color of some objects will redirect the brain to a different patternization. Media usage through radio, film, television or print, is a resourceful and valuable method to communicate health awareness and health promotion (Mason, Gardner, Outlaw O Grady, 2014). Newspapers are a valuable form of communication as 75% of American adults report newspaper utilization as a source for health information (Tang Peng, 2015). In addition, participants that are motivated by their political party identification strength will judge the low tech behavioral science condition the least favorably. This paper will review theories of cognitive dissonance and social identity that along with motivated reasoning evaluate decision making towards biases, examine the hard versus soft science debate, understand the pubic skepticism that exists within the field of psychology, further address implications of neuroscience s perceived credibility, and follow up with recent research that assesses biases towards quality of evidence that can ... • 35. Ketchup Research Papers Do you like eating something sweet? You may say yes, or no. But no matter what you answer, it s sure that you will ingest sugar more or less every day, since the main food like rice, wheat and potato are mostly made of a kind of sugar called starch. Besides of eating main food, most of us will eat some snacks, like candy, potato chips, or have some soft drinks. It seems this kind of life is normal, but WTO (2015) suggests that an adult male should reduce the sugarintake to around 8 teaspoons (about 32 grams) and adult woman should reduce to around 6 teaspoons (about 24 grams). What s the concept about this? We should know a fact that a teaspoon of ketchup contains about 1 teaspoon of sugar and a bottle of soft drinks contains about 10 teaspoons of sugar. What we eat are now full of sugar. We re in an age of excessive sugar , which can be harmful to the health. And the situation should be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be associated with a concept named sugar addiction . It seems it s hard to connect sugar with addiction , because we eat sugar every day, and we tend to connect addiction to something that sounds more chemical like drugs. But some researches show that sugar addiction really exists. According to the research of Avena, Rada and Hoebel (2008), sugar can be a kind of addiction material. It is found that sugar can make human body to release opioids and dopamine, which are two kinds of substances that are considered as addictable. This article summarizes the evidence of sugar dependence in an animal model, and the evidence supports the hypothesis that rats can become sugar addicted under certain circumstances. Also, the research of Wideman, Nadzam and Murphy (2005) indicates the effects of sugar addiction, withdrawal and relapse are similar to the effects of drugs addiction. From the researches about the mechanism of being addicted to sugar, we can see that it s possible to let a man become addicted to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We will discuss if the compensation that are received by these executives hold no merit in their worth. Sadly, the fact of the matter is that is highly unlikely. Most CEOs would most likely reform their packages to appease the public for a small amount of time. The problem with this is that people like money and people like having nice things. so with that being said the company is at a low risk of failing unless they have other issues dealing with the likes of care quality issues, excessive safety recalls, and other various issues that would cause a consumer lose faith in your brand and your company. But until that happens the proverbial road is clear for what you see fit because the economic state of America is in, they can buy a car with little to no hesitation. Which all reverts back to money in the corporate executives deep pockets. In most cases i would keep a neutral to middle class position, but if ask to place myself on each different end of the financial spectrum. I could see the pros and cons for everyone in both parties. The tragic reality is that regardless of how you think about it there is no foolproof way to have every party at maximum satisfaction. However, this group continues to be underrepresented in the area of post secondary education. Obtaining an advanced degree remains a likely predictor of future career success. The problem facing the minority student is that barriers persist which continue to hinder enrollment, retention, and graduation rates in institutions of higher education. These barriers must be identified and examined and solutions offered if college completion rates are to be increased for this population. While overall college enrollment and graduation rates have risen for all minority groups, there continues to be concerns for this segment of the population, particularly for African Americanstudents. Even... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The U.S. Department of Education s Digest of Education Statistics (2010) compiles data on educational trends and statistics in the United States. According to the digest, in 2009 African Americans earned about 10 percent of all bachelor degrees awarded. Furthermore, about 20 percent of African Americans currently hold a college degree. When compared to the same rates for the white non hispanic population, African Americans are largely lagging behind. The challenges that African Americans are facing must be met by post secondary institutions if this group is going to continue on the path of economic and career prosperity. This need is discussed in the report Minorities in Higher Education: Although greater access to higher education for students of color is an absolute imperative, it is only part of the equation. Ensuring their academic success and readiness to thrive in an interconnected world remains the ultimate goal. In a global economy, providing greater access to post secondary education to individuals from all racial and ethnic backgrounds remains one of the most important challenges facing our nation. Demographic changes have increased the proportions of people of color in the United States, and our academic population (Ryu, 2009, p. i). • 40. The Federal Republic Of Germany The Federal Republic of Germany is part of the EU (European Union). Its capital is the beautiful and globally famous city of Berlin. It is composed by the union of 16 individual states, where people have the freedom of religion, press and free market economy. Germany has a long history, this town, just as the majority of all the European towns, was established during the Roman Empire. More than 200 years ago, the north and west regions of Europe were filled with Germanic tribes, and even though Julio Caesar pushed the limits of the Roman Empire to the east of the Rhine river, the Romans were not able to conquered that region nor north Danube, which is now known today as the beautiful country of Germany. In 1949, the German Federal Republic became a constitutional, parliamentary democracy. Since its reunification in 1990, the country has been composed of 16 federal states. After having a four hour conversation via FaceTime with a dear German friend, whom I had the privilege of meeting back in 2013 when I first visited Germany, I summarized as much as I was able to the history of this precious country. It was not easy due to a lot of important events that happened but here is my summary: On November 4 of 1918, the German revolution took place with about 40,000 marines that invaded the port of Kiel. Three years later, on November 1921, the Sturmabteilung aka SA was formally formed by Adolf Hitler. On November of 1923, an army coup organized by Hitler failed, but again in 1938, ... • 41. Light Detection And Ranging ( Lidar ) Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) has grown to become a vital technology used in remote sensing technology from aerial or land based platforms. Environmentalists have used LiDAR extensively in resource mapping for conservation efforts in the past. However, one of the promising applications of LiDAR is planning and designing of engineering projects of varying magnitudes and complexities. Some of the outstanding drawbacks of using traditional data acquisition methods include the amount of time spent collecting the data and the reduction of the data during processing. Such issues are significant in engineering projects due to the corresponding cost and safety implications. Using LiDAR from aerial platforms allows engineers to acquire and process data quickly with high levels of accuracy as compared to the traditional methods. LiDAR involves the use of directing single laser pulses on targets and performing an analysis on time taken to receive the reflected pulses (Finkl, 2013). The data collected helps in the determination of elevation details of an area. Additionally, engineers can use the global positioning system (GPS) and digital photography with the LiDAR elevation details to present accurate and comprehensive information about the desired location for a project. The current paper focuses on the LiDAR data generated from aerial sources although several types of data exist. In this paper I will be discussing how Botswana has economically developed as well as the struggles the country has faced due to the diamond industry. We will also dive into how Botswana s geographic location affects the diamondindustry. Botswana is a small country roughly the size of Texas with a population of 1.7 million people(insert source). About four fifths of Botswana is desert; more specifically the Kalahari Desert. This makes Botswana what geographer s call a sub Saharan, land locked country. As a whole Botswana covers 224,607 square miles, yet contains only 1,444,000 people, making it one the most thinly populated countries in Africa. The eastern portion is where most people reside, because the Kalahari Desert covers almost all the rest of the nation. Botswana s climate is a semiarid one, consisting of very hot summers, and warm winters. Flat and rolling land makes up the topography of Botswana, with the Kalahari in the southwest. To the right is a well displayed picture of Botswana s topography. In a Times Magazine article A Diamond in the Rough by Scott Beaulier in 2010. Beaulier stated, Many economists believe in the geography hypothesis, which states that countries that are northern and near water will prosper, while those that are southern and land locked will most likely struggle. • 43. Roaring 20 s Vs. Swinging Roaring 20 s vs. Swinging 60 s Taking a look back in time, so much has changed, especially in the time period between the 1920 s and 1960 s. The 1920 s and 1960 s are two decades that have really defined the United States culture. From flappers to hippies, jazz music to rock, and Civil Rights movements, these two decades have helped shape the beliefs and rights we have today. The 1920s were an age of social and political change that would change the face of history in the United States. The 1960s are considered the most consequential and controversial decade of the twentieth century due to the rise of feminism, the Vietnam War and political and social atmospheres becoming divided. Despite the forty year gap between the two decades, they share a great deal of similarities, many of which have changed history. The 1920s was a decade of great social change and political conflicts. The roles of women have changed profoundly since the 1920s. During the time of World War 1, many women took the place of the males in factories, hospitals, and any other place men worked. When men returned from the war, women felt they should be entitled to the same rights as men, such as voting. This caused a great debate but in August of 1920, this all changed; the 19th amendment was added to the Constitution, giving women the right to vote. Women felt they were almost as superior as men once they were able to vote. As a result, women felt they could do as they pleased. This is where the term ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One effective method he uses is flattery, complimenting Annie in order to keep her happy and her mood stable. His use of this move is demonstrated on page 60 in the novel, when he calls Annie his favorite nurse. He uses it again on page 107, telling Annie that she could not be old enough to remember the chapter plays, hinting at how she looks way younger than she actually is. Paul uses this strategy to lighten Annie s mood and keep her happy, which is vital to him because Annie can become very destructive and impatient when angry, consequently being the main source of Paul s pain throughout the book. • 46. The Division Of The Nineteenth Century The Perpetuated Division in the Nineteenth Century The nineteenth century was an era that a lot of memorable history events had happened. Race, place, gender and class have been perpetuated in this century and have influenced the society from then. White people were obviously living better than black people; big cities always offered more opportunities and chances for people to find jobs; males were admittedly getting jobs easier and having higher salaries than females at that time; people who were in the upper class were undoubtedly enjoying more liberty and possessing more social properties than those were in lower class. The Civil War is considered one of the most significant history events that happened in American history. The government abolished the slavery law after the war, which emancipated many black people from being slaves. Also, there were many women going outside and finding jobs on their own. But under these circumstances, there were several events that still had impacts on people at that time and divided people by race, place, gender and class. These included the events of H.H.Holmes and the events of Margnet Garner, which illustrated how and why race, place, gender and class were dividing people and perpetuated in the nineteenth century.
