May 3, 2017 Their Eyes Were Watching God In this story, I have found that the themes that have
stood out to me is gender and love. These themes have captured a major thematic idea by gender
being discriminated against the women and the men. Gender is described as women being weaker
than the men and men being the powerful ones. Love is described in this story as independent until
it is found. Finding love is a part of life and everybody tries to find it but when it is found, it
seems like you have lived you life to the fullest. These examples of the themes can be brought into
the real world and can affect how people live their lives.
My first theme is going to be about gender. In the novel, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gender can happen in the real world which can lead to personal experiences. I have experienced
some gender inequality throughout my life and have had family situations since I have been
alive. For instance, my parents lived in a time where men went to work and the women had to
clean, cook, and stuff around the house. I have experienced some problems myself by my brother
and I having to do outside yard work while my sister only does inside work. She claims that yard
work is for men and it s a man s job. . What I have to say about that is that men and women don t
need to do work based off if it is a man or woman s job, work is work and you shouldn t base it off
gender inequality. Another situation I was faced with was when my mom was trying to get a
job, she was trying to get a job at selling Tupperware. She was faced with you can t sell Tupperware
because you are a woman and people don t buy stuff off of women. . She sticked with her gut and
went for it, now she is very successful in her business and doesn t let what a guy said to her stop her.
Another theme I chose from the story was love. Love can be a powerful thing or a devastating
thing. For example, After that she came to where Joe Starks was waiting for her with a hired rig.
He was very solemn and helped her to the seat beside him. With him on it, it sat like some high,
ruling chair. From now on until death she

The Association Of Southeast Asian Nation
The Road to Full Integration
Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN), a 10 member organization established in August
1967, moves toward a deeper integration through creating a unified community in political,
economic, and socio cultural aspects of the region. It is a region of great diversity but most
countries have achieved rapid economic development for the most of the past 25 years. Its
diplomacy and cooperation are characterized by caution, pragmatism, and consensus based decision
making the ASEAN Way (Ponciano Intal, et al., 2014). Taking steps to achieve their goal and
embracing its motto, One Vision. One Identity. One Community. the organization established the
ASEAN Economic Cooperation (AEC) in 2015. This aims to promote an all inclusive cooperation
across the region, gearing towards making South East Asia a globally competitive single market
and production base characterized by: free flow of goods, services, investments, skills, and capitals.
Moreover, it intends to form a region of equitable economic development integrated into the global
economy (The ASEAN Secretariat, 200)
Creating a single market with about 600 million people is an enormous step for ASEAN (The
ASEAN Secretariat, 2015). Nine years after AEC was declared, the organization has achieved a lot
if the Four Pillars shall be considered as the assessing factors.
Pillar 1: Single Market and Production Base. With continuous effort to achieve a single market and
production base, about 96% of

Stevenson s Veto Debate Analysis
On April 23, 1949, the Illinois Governor, Adlai Stevenson, wrote a satirical yet professional
response to a citizen s request to restrain all cats. This veto is titled, The Cat Bill Veto. The Illinois
senate received a bill from a concerned citizen. The citizen feels that cats should be contained
because of the public nuisance some see cats to be. Stevenson writes a letter expressing
understanding of the situation, but reminding the Senate that this is a minor issue compared to the
major problems being faced. While analyzing StevensonВґs response to the bill, many of us will
recognize the satirical diction and StevensonВґs ethical credibility being revealed. Throughout
StevensonВґs veto bill, it is clear that he uses satirical diction to imply

The United States Women s National Team
The United States women s national soccer team is being torn under discrimination and how they
are being treated as an individual. Throughout the years, the women have accomplished so much
more than the men, but yet are being paid less than what the men are making. They have
experienced rough conditions of the fields when they play their matches, which can lead to serious
career ending injuries. The women have had enough of this situation and they plan to bring this up
to the U.S Soccer Federation, they hope the men will stick up for them and help them fight for
their rights, the women hope to get rid of Astroturf altogether and quit playing their matches on it,
and has the federation been like this for a long time. So over the years of... Show more content on

The importance is to know how they feel about this situation, which can put in a different
perspective on how you were chosen to represent a country but get brought down because of gender
. It s our responsibility to know what s right and what s wrong in the federation and stick up for the
people being torn and brought down from discrimination. The U.S Soccer Federation is being
brought to attention and being investigated of the discrimination towards the women. For example,
The U.S Soccer Federation is a 501 nonprofit and the official governing body of the sport of soccer
in the United States. (Wikipedia1). This clearly demonstrates that the federation is in charge of the
soccer, and it is understood that they are more than capable of changing the discrimination between
the women and the men. The significance is that being the federation they have all of the power to
determine how much pay each national team gets, and only they can do what s right in this
situation. In addition, According to a budget report from the U.S Soccer Federation, the women s
team is projected to bring in more than $17 million in revenues, including a $5 million surplus for a
fiscal year 2017, nearly doubling their male counterparts. (Santhanam1). This quote can help the
women out by fighting with the federation on these statistics, showing

Fort Snelling State Park Research Paper
There is a huge and beautiful state park in the center of the Twin Cities in Minnesota as Northern
United States of America, which is called Fort Snelling State Park . The park is the place of

Turkeys, white tailed deer, fox snake, and coyotes, but also there are a lot of human resources like
biking trails, fishing, camping, and lodging for visitors to stay with eco friendly and be in harmony

The Start Of A Great Adventure Essay
The start of a great adventure, begins with the idea of becoming more then yourself. The first
time I started thinking about what career I wanted was in third grade as a kid. Are teachers just
simple asked us who do you want to be when you grow up? I was probing my mind for this
answer, but couldn t not found the answer. I said the basic thing every kid would say I would
like to be a veterinarian. I figured that would be good career because I loved animals and it doesn
t pay to bad. My mind kept that question till I found an answer that made sense in what I want to
be. The start is always a difficult thing to do in founding out what you really want to be. I know
what I wanted as much as anybody. I wanted a house, a wife, and kids living in a nice place that
my kids will be able to grow and love. I also wanted to be a nutritionist, engineer, architect, sports
medicine, and something related to sports. As I was comparing the many majors and how I am I
noticed a pattern. I like the idea of creating things, helping others, and hands on activities. That is
the reason I went with physical therapybecause it is close to sports, hands on, and helping others.
When choosing my major, I couldn t just apply for the program. I had to have a undergraduate
degree before hand. The reason being is that it is a Doctorate degree and I have to complete certain
requirements to apply for it before I actually can do it. It really doesn t matter what major I go for
as long as I do the

Stealth Aircraft On Bombing Missions
The advantages and disadvantages of using stealth aircraft on bombing missions are varied, from
their use in conflict to the risks and costs involved in operating such an aircraft. They are
beneficial in restricting the length and time of battles especially when capable of long missions,
but at a substantial cost to both the crew operating the craft and the US Air Force itself. This essay
will explore the long missions the F 117 and B 2 stealth aircraftare capable of, the costs involved in
developing and operating such aircraft, and their efficiency in battle.
An advantage of using stealth aircraft such as the F 117 Nighthawk and the B 2 Spirit stealth
bomber is the capability that these aircraft have to undertake long missions. The B 2 was first
used in 1999 in the Kosovo War, when six aircraft flew a non stop round journey from their
Missouri base, a mission taking 30 hours. The aircraft are highly automated, from their navigational
systems to their weaponry and attack systems. They navigate using GPS and highly accurate
inertial guidance systems which assist the autopilot functions. Bombing missions are automatically
organised by a digital planning system that can carry out all functions, including release of the
weapons themselves. Laser guided bombs are used such as a pair of GBU 10, GBU 12, or BLU
109 penetration bombs, or Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs). Because of the high level of
automation, and the decreasing cost and size of electronic equipment, it is

How Did Helen Keller Get A Place In History
The Life of Helen Keller
Helen Keller deserves a place in history because she changed a lot of people s perspectives and
how they think about being deaf and blind. This does offer a clear answer to why she deserves a
place in history. Adding in what she went through as a child would make it better. Motivation
Helen Keller struggled for most of her early years to communicate with other people. At the age
of 10 she was very determined to learn how to talk. She went to a deaf and blind school for
learning how to talk. Her teacher was also deaf and blind at one point in her life but it later
returned. She was determined to prove her doubters wrong. She later on helped people with the
same disabilities.

Keller became determined to learn to speak, and attended the Horace Mann School for the
Deaf, where she began the process.
THE LIFE OF HELEN KELLER
Accomplishments
From a young age Helen Keller wanted to defeat the odds of being a hero and being deaf and
blind. But all people have to overcome problems to be successful, she threw tantrums over not
being able to communicate well with others. She also proved that even though she had troubles
she still dealt with it and was a hero for some people. She helped people learn how to cope and
helped them through their journey. Also her teacher was blind for a short period of time. An
infection damaged her eyes, causing them to weaken throughout her early life until she was
nearly blind. In conclusion, Helen Keller was a very inspiring person because of all of her
accomplishments and she definitely deserves a spot in history. Even though she couldn t hear or
see she was still a positive figure that we look up to today. She did all of

Forgiveness
Being able to forgive and forget allows people to continue to move on with their lives instead of
dwelling on a situation. However, would one be able to forget about a situation more easily if
they have forgiven their transgressor first? Saima, Bierman, and MacLeod (2014) proposed a
study to address this question. They believe this is an important question to address because if
forgiving makes forgetting easier, it will allow people who are able to forgive to release offenses,
empowering them to preserve valued relationships and move on with their lives.
The independent variable presented in these studies is forgiveness and the dependent variable is the
ability to forget. The participants were between the ages of 18 and 39 and were made up ... Show

They saw a cue word for 30 seconds and were asked to press the space bar as soon as the
associated scenario came to mind. Then were given one minute to give as much detail on the
scenario as they could. Finally participants then responded a second time to the forgiveness
questionnaire.
The results of this study were that unforgiven scenarios were observed as more serious
(M=6.750, SD= .32) than forgiven scenarios (M=4.03, SD= .85). It was also observed that
participants were more motivated to forgive the offender for scenarios that had been forgiven
(M=2.92, SD=. 76) then unforgiven (M=5.84, SD= .76) (Saima, Bierman, MacLeod, 2014). The
researchers were trying to make a causal claim that, based on this information, forgiving facilitates

Cannibalism Research Paper
Cannibalism is an act that is thought to be terrible and inconceivable in the minds of people. But,
contrary to what many people think, cannibalism is very much alive and still being practiced within
many countries including The United States of America; it s just that the government hasn t found
out about it yet. This paper will take you through cannibalisms history, the different types of
cannibalism, and its different cases. Cannibalism is one of the strangest and most horrific American
restrictions. When the common person thinks of cannibalism a disturbed serial killer who cuts his
victims into pieces and boils them in bloody water quickly comes to mind. Cannibalism is exactly
defined as the eating of one s own species; cannibals are people eating people. Cannibals have a
long, broad, and sometimes an honorable history. Some of the earliest evidence of cannibalism
comes from southern France, where there are Stone Age settlements littered with bones having

Even The Simpsons, a popular cartoon show that has a world wide fan base, has made fun of
cannibalism. While these forms of literature and television are intended for entertainment purposes,
the fact remains that they negatively portray cannibalism in a way that differs greatly from reality.
By continually connecting cannibalism with murder, the entertainment industries have helped to
cause a stereotype for cannibalism that it is only performed by psychotic killers, or uncivilized
savages. However, this is not the case, though most movies forget to mention that not all acts of
cannibalism have to do with homicide, many in fact are cultural ways to express grief, honor the
dead, and show religious faithfulness. (2014 AllMovie, a division of All Media Network, LLC

Suffering In Cormac Mccarthy s Blood Meridian
There is a horde of explanations pertaining to the epilogue of Blood Meridian. The short passage
has sparked ideas of the idealistic human nature of suffering, the search for enlightenment through
Gnosticism, and the subtle persuasion that lies beneath eloquent language, both in Judge Holden s
claims and Cormac McCarthys narration. It is important, before delving into these ideas, that the
passage is recounted.
In the dawn there is a man progressing over the plain by means of holes that he is making in the
ground. He uses an implement with two handles and he chucks it into the hole and he enkindles the
stone in the hole with his steel hole by hole striking the fire out of the rock which God has put
there. On the plain behind him are the wanderers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has no desire to alleviate human suffering, or to intervene in humanity s slow self
destruction; he only watches. McCarthy uses these ideas as a platform for the bizarre
atmosphere of the West, calling into question why a creator in favor of humanity would create a
place so desolate and violent. The man in the epilogue is described as striking the fire out of the
rock which God has put there, suggesting that he is a pneumatic (Someone who understands the
true state of the cosmos and the nature of the nameless Alien God ) who frees the sparks of the
divine fire trapped in matter or rock by the God of this world, the demiurge. Within the context
of Gnosticism, the steel of the man s tool causes sparks as he digs; each hole dispersing these
sparks into the cosmos and restoring unity to the Alien God. This difficult process is one of
salvation, and the pneumatics task is a long and ongoing one, as each spark that dies without
escaping to the alien God is thrown back into its realm, and thus they all move on again like
clockwork, presumably until the last bit of fire has been freed from the rocks. In this framework,
those who have not attained spiritual enlightenment follow the man and the holes he s making.
Those who search for bones are followers of religions that claim that all will be revealed in the
afterlife. These wanderers look to the empty promise of death for salvation, not realizing that
without Gnosis (Gnostic enlightenment) they will be flung back into the manifest world, life after
life. The ones who do not search are the materialists, content with the achievement of wealth and
power, who are even less awakened to Gnosis than those who search for answers in bones. Both
parties move haltingly in the light like mechanisms because they do not posses free will, and
display themselves as

Air And Test Evaluation Segment One
The organization chosen is Air and Test Evaluation Squadron One. The mission of this squadron is
to conduct operational test and evaluation of new acquired weapon systems, support systems, and
aircraft for the U.S. Navy. In interfacing with mission systems and fleet introduction, Air and Test
Evaluation Squadron One does it first.
In the acquisition phase, the navy has several initial and developmental test and evaluation
squadrons; however, these squadron use contract and government maintenance and flight personnel
to conduct primary and subsequent examination and analysis of newly acquired systems in a

Utah and California have numerous similarities and differences from post Native American
settlement, religious affiliation, to demographic concentrations. Both states are in the western
United States but I believe that there are more obvious differences between the states then
similarities between them. A majority of lower and mid western US states has seen the exploration
efforts of the Spanish, but other then this the settlement efforts of Utah and California have a bigger
presence of distinctions. Utah can be seen being settled by the Latter Day Saints to escape religious
persecution from those in the US east, while California rather than religion experienced

Descriptive Essay On A Tridaday Morning
Wednesday Morning
It is a typical Wednesday morning, the middle of the week, and I m running late to school. It s
7:43 and most students are making a mad dash to beat the morning bell, others linger around the
green courtyard, catching up with friends, dreading going to class. I make my way through the
maze of students, and I catch my best friend, Lauren, in the stairwell at the top of A building, both
on our way to the history class we have together. We do not say a word, just share a look that says
we want to go home and we need more coffee, before we head into class.
Our class is always in chaos in the mornings. The boys compare what they have for breakfast
today and discuss last night s baseball game play by play, while the girls get together and share a
bit of gossip they heard last night and begin to make plans for the weekend. Today was no
exception. Just as the tardy bell rings, I sit in my seat at the corner of the room and notice that
Kaylin, who sits behind me, is crying. Her face is red and blotchy and she is staring at her phone. I
choose to act like I do not notice, because it must have been a rough morning and I would not
want anyone bothering me if I were in her position. Then Abbie, who sits in the desk beside
Kaylin, comes in a few minutes late, also crying. Lauren and I exchange confused glances, and I
suddenly realize our teacher, Mrs. Hendrix, isn t in the room. How strange, I think to myself, she
is almost always here to greet us when we walk in the

About Shingles Essay
Shingles, herpes zoster, is a very contagious and painful rash, or blister that appears on the skin.
These rashes most commonly appear on the sides of the body in stripes. The stripes are made up
of many very painful blisters caused by a certain type of virus. The varicella zoster, most
commonly known as the chicken pox virus attacks the nerve roots in that area. The herpes zoster
virus is in the herpes family, including HSV, herpes simple virus, which causes cold sores, fever
blisters, and genital herpes. (WebMD, 2011) Most people are required to get the chicken pox shot
when they are children although some do not. The chicken pox shot helps to keep out the virus by
keeping it dormant in the nerves. The varicella zoster virus stays in a... Show more content on

Some of the first symptoms of shingles may include intense side pain, itching, tingling, and
burning. The symptoms most commonly appear before the rashes or blisters. Then red patches
on the skin form. These turn into clusters of blisters in stripes most commonly on the sides of
the torso, but may appear on the eyes, face, mouth, and ears. The blisters break soon after this
leaving the skin open to ulcers forming. The ulcers form a crust or scab to protect it. The scab
will fall off in approximately two to three weeks. Scarring usually does not exist. Additional
symptoms include chills, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, headache, joint pain, and difficulty
moving some facial muscles. If a woman is exposed to shingles during her pregnancy, and
acquires shingles, her pregnancy may be complicated. The mother may get very sick, and the
baby may get chicken pox right away or within a few days of birth. If the pregnant woman has
shingles within a few days before birth this can be very bad for the baby. The newborn baby
might not be able to handle all the stress on the body of the virus attacking the nerves so young. It
is not very common for this to happen although it can. If the rash is present, it is advised to go to
the doctor within three days. There is no cure for shingles but many medicines can lessen the
effects of the illness on the body. Shingles is most easily diagnosed by pains running along the

Lucy And The American Dream Analysis
A close study of the way Lucy by Jamaica Kincaid and the characters of Seven react to their
encounters with the new world. Both stories are new immigrant literature and they both bring
the past experiences or events to the present. In the book The American Dream by Jim Cullen he
questions if the past is essential to your future or does it matter at all. Lucy is a story that
describes a girl s experience in the new world, throughout the story she dealt with a great deal of
controversy when having to adjust to the new world. The objective of this part of the book is
Lucy compares everything to a troubling episode that happened back at her home. One of Lucy
s first days in the new world she was excited to see sun shining her immediate thought was warm
temperature which coming from a tropical zone she was used to the type of weather. A rude
awakening appeared when she felt the cold air but the sun was still shining, But I did not know
that the sun could shine and the air remain cold; no one had ever told me (Kincaid 5). Throughout
the story Lucy is unsatisfied with just about every encounter with the new world, the first quote
shows how differently Lucy sees the world. Lucy is brought to the United States to be a
babysitter to the children of Lewis and Mariah and go to school at night. The family of the house
was nice to Lucy, and she is surprised by this treatment saying that I should regard them as my
family and make myself at home (Kincaid 7). Another person

The Cost Of Execution
Executions have been a method of punishment for many years, yet the different types of
executions have advanced in technology over the years. Every state has a different way of
executing criminals. For example, Texas follows out the execution plan by conducting death by
lethal injection. Our state law allows a jury to vote for death by lethal injection for convicted
criminals, and I would vote to change this law. Many studies have been conducted to the find the
truth about the cost of executions versus the cost of life in prison. Pro execution supporters state that
by carrying out executions thousands of tax dollars are saved. This, in fact, is not necessarily
correct. There is much research that proves that executions are far more expensive

Laws are put into place to regulate the behavior of people to benefit society. According to
Pozgar, laws are designed to prevent harm to others while protecting the rights of individuals
(Pozgar 2010 Pg 175). Without laws the world would be a dangerous place to live. There are
four laws that most affect the provider and receiver of care. They are tort law, criminal law,
contract law , and trial procedures. The most important one to me that would impact the health
care field the most would be tort law. This is the law that is a civil wrong. It does not consist of a

There are decisions that are based on the values of others concerned in the health care of loved
ones. For instance if a patient is living on life support devices it may be up to the family to
decide to take he or she off of the life support system. It is the doctors obligation to adhere by their
wishes, but also to be sure that there is nothing else possible to do in order to save the person s life.
Many professional groups such as physicians and attorneys hold themselves accountable through a
set of ethical guidelines, but public health professionals have no code of ethics.
Perhaps the explanation is that no single public health profession exists, but rather a variety of
different disciplines. Indeed, some public health disciplines have their own ethical codes e.g.,
epidemiologists and public health educators. Nevertheless, a code of ethics, or at least a well
articulated values statement, could increase the status of the field and help clarify the distinctive
ethical dilemmas faced by public health professionals. Public health professionals work in a field of
considerable moral ambiguity where guidance could be instructive. ( www.publichealthlaw.net

SCI Case Study
Dear Uncle Steve and Aunt May,
I am sorry to hear about Cousin Jimmy s spinal cord injury (SCI), and I understand you are
searching for a cure using stem cell therapy, so I ll try and provide you with as much information
as I know. Currently in Australia and around the world, there are no proven cures for SCI using
stem cells, this is according to the Australia and New Zealand Spinal Cord Injury Network (Stem
Cell Interventions for Spinal Cord Injury, 2009) and icord.org (Steeves et al., 2012), both leading
organisations in SCI treatment. There are however, clinical trials and research going on around the
world that use stem cells to treat different aspects of SCI. A list of some of these studies is

The recent development in the ability to grow brain organoids promises exciting new areas of
research into drug and therapy treatments in vivo (in a laboratory) without experimentation on
patients, though this technology is still some way off use in SCI, and are mainly used in
neurodegenerative diseases (Lee et al., 2017)
If you are still looking for a stem cell treatment online, it is best to know what to look for, and
what to avoid. Many online sites offer stem cell treatments/trails, but are not regulated, as an
example I have provided links to some of the sites that should be avoided.
1 Beike Biotechnology (https://stemcelltreatmentnow.com) is a company in China that promises
treatments for a range of issues from Autism to traumatic brain injury all using the same stem cell
treatment methods along with supportive rehabilitation such as acupuncture. They provide no
scientific papers or data to support their treatment and instead have pages of patient testimonials
detailing outcomes (Stemcelltreatmentnow.com, 2017).
2 StemCells21 (https://stemcells21.com/). While at first look this site looks more legitimate then
others it still has the same issues. The site claims they can treat a variety of ailments and combine
stem cell treatments with a variety of other techniques such as shock wave therapy. This site even
provides research information, however it is all published by

Bruno Discrimination Quotes
Bruno is Oblivious towards Discrimination
Bruno is mainly oblivious towards discrimination but at times he is able to identify injustice. Bruno
is innocent towards the discrimination towards Jews, and he is shielded by his parents, but at times
he is able to identify injustice. Bruno wants to crawl under the fence so he and Shmuel can play
together . This demonstrates his innocence. However, when Kotler beat up Pavel, Bruno watched
and it made him cry . This shows how Bruno can make out that Kotler is doing wrong, but doesn t
exactly understand that it is discrimination.
Bruno is totally unaware towards the discrimination of Jews. This can be seen in many events. Like
when Bruno called the Jews the pyjama people . Bruno thought the Jews wore striped pyjamas
just because they want to, but actually the striped pyjamas are the uniforms that the Jews are
forced to wear. He also doesn t realise that they are in a concentration camp. This is shown when
Bruno wants to play on the other side of the fence . This demonstrates his innocence because he
doesn t realise that is he goes on the other side, he could put himself in serious danger. Throughout
the whole novel, Bruno doesn t realise that the Jews are treated harshly, proving that he is oblivious
towards discrimination. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Career Clusters
Introduction While writing this paper I hope to further discover what I want for my future. May it
be in medicine, training, science, agriculture etc. I feel that this is an opportunity to truly
understand what I want for my future. In this paper I hope to stay organized and reach all
deadlines. Survey Results My results from both surveys mainly put me in the category being able
to help people and or help rehabilitate them. Most of my basic skills are around a level 4 which
shows that IВґm relatively well balanced.I believe these do accurately show my skills and proper
career choices. My top two career clusters were health science and education and training.I do
agree with the fact that I would do well in health science as it is one of my major goals to get some
sort of doctorate degree. However I donВґt very much agree with the education and training cluster.I
donВґt do well with education to others.ItВґs just not something I excel in.But I would like to have
a career in medicine.According to the basic skills survey I am sorely lacking in mathematics and

The Relationship Between Temporal Attention And Implicit...
The relationship between temporal attention and implicit learning has not been discovered in
research. This experiment was designed to see if implicit learning could influence attention. We
hypothesized that periodicity of a stimulus would aid in the learning process. A 45 minute Rapid
Serial Visual Presentation task was utilized. There were 48 Indiana State University
undergraduates who participated in the study. 11 uppercase letters was presented in RSVP task.
Participants identified one blue target among 10 white distractors, at 10 Hz, for 10 practice trials
and 462 experimental trials. There were two conditions, periodic and non periodic. The study had
the same results for position effects as a previous study which supported... Show more content on

Attention is a fascinating and highly researched area in psychology. We use attention every day and
though it seems like something simple it is actually a complex process. Some of the most
interesting studies conducted were cases where people were not paying attention as one would
assume.
Phenomena like Pseudoneglect, Hemispatial neglect, and Inattentional blindness incites
psychologists because they want to know why such cognitive deficits occur. These types of
phenomena all stems from attention. The ability to be completely normal, but make leftward errors
in line bisection because the left side of space tends to be favored; the ability to only attend to one
side of one s body and completely ignore the other; or the fact that we miss activities that occur right
in front us, all contribute to cognitive research that interest researchers. Studies about attention are
separated into two groups, spatial attention and temporal attention. Spatial attention simply means
attention in space and temporal attention measures attention over time. This study concentrates on
temporal attention and how it relates to learning.
In this study we wanted to measure whether or not implicit learning occurs with time in the RSVP
task. Implicit learning simply means unintentional or indirect learning. We also wanted to
determine if periodicity plays a role in the implicit learning of a timing pattern (Key, 2013). In order
to understand why

After taking charge Ulysses S. Grant became really mad he went crazy he was going take over
and destroy the south. Grant then opened up the cracker line, to bring supplies to the beleaguered
army of the Cumberland. Grant went crazy he was ready to launch an attack. On November 24,
Grant launched an attack on lookout mountainn and then captured it after six hours of fighting!
The battles went on and on. Grant wanted this battle over fast so the nexted day he ordered
Sherman to attack tunnel hill. But the last time Sherman was ordered to lead the troops in an
initial attack was a failure. A second attack managed to completely break the center of the
confederate line. After that victory it was grants third in three days. Then, all of a sudden it opened
the Deep South to a union invasion. At the end with the success of Grants victories it also led the
union to a great victory (Civilwar.org).
Casualties
The battle of Chattanooga was a really bloody battle. At first there were a total of 100,369 troops
and 12,485 that died it was not the bloodiest battle but it was bloody. Both sides didn t have a
difference of troops dying. Even though, Grant was successful he lost about 6,000 troops out of
56,000. It was mostly troops not generals. On the other hand Brgg had lost about 6,700 troops out
of 30,000 troops. And another reason grant one was because he outnumbered Bragg by a lot. Here

In The Heart Of The Sea Summary
The book I read was called In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick. This book tells the
story of brave men on a whaling ship called the Essex who were lost at sea. It tells about how
starvation, dehydration, and how psychologically the human brain breaks down. This story is
told from the third person view explaining the lives of the men and the troubles they went
through. This story is about 20 men who were lost at sea after their boat was destroyed by a feral
whale. Many of these men were nantucketers, spartans of the sea, but instead of killing men they
killed whales. Nantucketers were bred for hunting whales; it s almost a religion for the people of

Why Is Deer Hunting Important In Australia
One of the biggest challenges for hunters worldwide is hunting for deer in Australia. As a result,
numerous professional associations, as well as hunting clubs, have sprung up in these locations
where deer hunting is increasing in popularity. There are many locations all over Australia where
creative sport hunters can pursue any of the 6 native species, providing that they act responsibly and
considerably to the wild animals in the huntingarea. Knowledge is vital for successful deerhunting
in Australia along with expertise, ethics, and a strong passion for the natural environment.
The Acclimatisation Society of Victoria, from 1860 to 1900, was in charge of the introduction of

In Australia, there are 6 varieties of deer that are considered permitted for hunting. The sambar

of deer, the sambar deer are tougher to hunt due to their low density population along with their

The Mini BESTest Because the administration of the BESTest takes from 45 to 60 minutes,
which may not be practical in all clinical settings, a condensed shorter version of the BESTest
(Mini BESTest) was created. Through the basis of rash analysis, unnecessary items and 2
sections of the BESTest, biomechanical constrains and stability limits/vertically, were removed
to yield the assessment of dynamic balance. The Mini BESTest contains 14 items of the original
36 items from the BESTest. The items on the Mini BESTest are scored on a 3 point scale

The Paleo-Indians And The English Colonization Of North...
The initial inhabitants of North and South America, known as Paleo Indians, arrived here over
thousands of years ago. It is believed that the Native American forefathers reached this country via a
piece of land that linked Asia to North America. Upon arrival, the Paleo Indians split into numerous
tribes. They broke off into a number of tribes, including but not limited to, the Paiutes, the
Shoshonis, the Algonquians, the Aztecs, and the Mayans. The Paiutes and the Shoshonis tended to
migrate seasonally. They are both tribes that settled in Nevada and Utah. The Algonquian tribe
inhabited present day northeastern United States and eastern Canada. They preferred to remain in
their territories, they rarely migrated. The Aztecs, a bellicose nation, colonized what is now
Mexico and Guatemala. The Aztecs had gained power over central Mexico before the Spanish
accessed the new world. The Mayans also settled in Mexico and Guatemala. They were a very
intelligent nation that already had writing and mathematics systems in place by the time the
Spanish arrived. The various indigenous tribes then settled in a variety of places across the
Americas and formed their own religious and cultural practices.

areas of strengths for Jen? Some areas of strength for Jen include her ability to work hard and
her determination. Jen s history of making good grades and her behavior is evidence that she is

Since we have established the working model for starvation based modulation we wanted to
confirm it using molecular techniques. Firstly, we wanted to check the levels of relative gene
expression of a few important genes between starved and non starved larvae. We performed qRT

GAD1, GABA (A) receptor, GABA (B) receptor R1, GABA (B) receptor R2 and GABA (B)

for all the genes above except Orco. The relative geneexpression of Orco was significantly much

We used Orco Gal4 and 10x; UAS CD8; GFP to drive GFP into the ORNs. We used primary
antibody that was a chicken anti GFP (1:150, Invitrogen) and rabbit anti GABA (B) R1
(sequence mentioned above) in 0.2%PPST+5% normal goat serum (Triton X 100). Samples
were incubated overnight at 4 degrees C. Secondary antibodies were a goat anti chicken Alexa
488 (1:150, Invitrogen) and a goat anti rabbit Alexa 647 (1:75, Invitrogen) in 0.2% PBST+5%
normal goat serum. GFP staining was clearly observed in ORN s which is represented in Figure
10. This result suggests that ORN s project much deeper into the brain than thought previously.
Next, we looked for the presence of GABA (B) receptors in the larval antennal lobe.
Immunohistochemistry analysis were performed in animals expressing GFP in all 21 ORNs.
We found that GABA (B) receptor R1 localized to the ORN synaptic terminals. We conclude that
the GABA (B) R1 is localized at the ORN synapses. Root et al., 2008 observed GABA (B) receptors
on ORNs in adult flies. Here with our results, consistent with Root et al, we are seeing GABA (B)
receptors staining in larval stage too. Staining image is represented in Figure 11.
GABA (B) receptor is not found in the uniglomerular PN s Next, we looked at the uniglomerular
projection neurons for the presence of GABA (B) receptor R1. We don t know if uniglomerular

The Chrysalids Character Analysis
We don t have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in the process of change. Small acts,
when multiplied by millions of people, can change the world
(Hord Zinn). David is a telepathic boy living in a post apocalyptic nuclear wasteland, called the
Tribulation in the book The Chrysalids. David manages to change the world and the vision of
mutation and deviants. David would have never able to do that without the people around that
changed him. This Essay will explore how Sophie, Uncle Axel and Gordon though minor characters
have a major impact on David s development.
Throughout the book Sophie had an exponential effect on David development even when not
present. Firstly, when David meets meets Sophie and learns about Sophie s supplementary toe,
David accepts Sophie for who she is. It was all twisted and puffy I didn t even notice then that it
had more than the usual amount of toes... (Wyndham 9). This is critical to David s development
as it influenced him to ignore the rules of the uneducated town of Waknuk. Secondly, when
Sophie is a suspected deviant David helps her run away to the fringes evading the law. I
managed to find some candles and light them, and when I had blown up the fire and put some
more on, that helped to make the place seem less lonely. (49). In this quote David is trying to
make the house seem occupied so the people of Waknuk do not get suspicious. This is imperative
as for the first time in his life David rebelled against the rules

The Truth About Kennedy s Assassination
The Truth About Kennedy s Assassination
There needs to be more explaining and evidence on about President Kennedy s assassination
because what the government says is nonsense and doesn t line up. The government says it was
Oswald, but how could that be he had a wife and kids, so why would he want to go away from
them and go to prison? There s things that the government has concealed from the public. Just
something seems to be off about the government s explanation. I m going to try to give an
explanation for what seems to be the truth due to the information I found in the article The JFK
Assassination .
See, here s what I think is that Oswald was a part of a larger conspiracy than we know, but in this
conspiracy he is innocent. Also instead of Oswald it was the government, a bar owner(Jack
Ruby), and the mob did it because how would someone be calm and have no sweat if he did shoot
Kennedy? In addition, be on the 6th floor, then get on the 4th floor in ninety seconds and still have
regular breathing?
Now you might be saying, What why would they have? . There s an explanation which is that the
government didn t like Kennedy. I think this because he made the mob angry and the government
didn t like that he did. Now Jack Ruby had connections to police and they work for the ... Show

that they government was involved, then why didn t they just kill him along time before if they
did want him dead? I also can answer my question which is that they wanted the right time, in front

The Thoughts Of Brahma And The Creation Of God
The Thoughts of Brahma is one of the creation myths in Hindu scripture that explains the creation
of the world that is Earth today. In this story, Brahma, the Hindu creator God, re creates the Earth
every four ages to bring the Earth to its original condition. To create beings, Brahma meditates and
uses his mind. Brahma s thoughts are then transformed into beings. To begin inhabiting the world,
Brahma starts by creating the evil or demons, this becomes the darkness. Brahma then creates the
good, which became the light. Afterwards, Brahma begins to create human beings. Brahma then
began thinking strangely, and as a result, horrible creatures were created. Brahma was so horrified
with his actions that all the hairs on his head fell out, and he mistakenly created ghouls as well.
Upon moving on from the dark thoughts, Brahma was able to create all of the other living things
we know today.
In Thoughts of Brahma, the central theme of the story is creation. Whether the creating is good or
evil, this myth focuses on explaining the process on how the world became what it is today, and
how its inhabitants were formed.
The Thoughts of Brahma and the Christian creation stories in the book of Genesis have similarities
and differences (Genesis Chapter 1). In both creation stories, a divine being creates the world and
all of the beings that inhabit it. Some differences are that in the Christian faith, God takes an active
role in up keeping and sustaining the earth. In the Hindu

Who is the boy I see in the mirror? He is over weighted, unsuccessful, paranoid, and insecure. It
was a grotesque reflection of myself and a visualization of a loser. So I was frequently scared to

The stacking piles of homework and the mean test scores that always ignored the effort I put in

the mirror holding a melting chocolate bar in my one hand and my pencil on the other, sitting next
to a pile of snacks. However, as the weight gauge points to a new higher number everyday, I got
more stress from the humiliating number and the thoughts of others judging my appearance that led
me to opening another candy bar. It was a vicious cycle.
I look horrible, My grades are terrible. These were some of the words that always flew around my

Impact of Housing Market Crash
The Impact of housing Market Crash on Global Economy
The housing market in the United States became a nightmare for many people who had taken out
loans found and they were not able to pay their mortgage repayments. When the value of homes
decreased, the borrowers realized themselves with negative capital. The negative movement of
housing sector did effect the United States economy. Individual house owners and investors could
not react to the situation and their properties lost value. Rates of mortgages increased extremely
high that s why mortgages no longer became affordable for many people, and thousands of

Then previous summer came the subprime crisis across the Atlantic. By end of the summer, there
was a run on a British lender, Northern Rock. A month later, mortgage approvals dropped 31
percent, compared with the number in the previous year, and by November, real estatebrokers
began reporting the first declines in housing prices. In March, average prices fell 2.5 percent, the
largest monthly decline since 1992, according to HBOS, a mortgage lender. (Mark Landler, 2008)
In 2009 the total value of construction in Ukraine fell 48.2%, to 4.78 billion US dollar, after a
16% fall in 2008, according to the State Statistics Committee. In Chernovtsy, the centre of Western
Ukraine, popularly known as Little Vienna, construction volumes plummeted 66.8% in January,
compared to the previous year. In Kiev, construction volumes fell 27.4% over the same period. As
a result of the global crisis, developers now face financing problems. As a result, many
construction projects are frozen. In addition, the property market is being swamped by properties
sold by cash strapped buyers. (Global Property Guide 2011)
The boom in house prices was actually much bigger here than in the U.S., said Kelvin Davidson, an

Analysis Of The Poem Hay Fever
Hay Fever Response
Hay Fever was a comical play with a strong message. The actors throughout this play steadily used
others to gain their own attention. The message this play left behind after many laughs was do not
use others, plain and simple.
The space was a well constructed thrust stage however, the stage was not raised off the ground and
the seats appeared to be mobile which lead to the belief that this is an Environmental Theater. As
for the layout of the stage, there was a couch and a table in center stage for the first two acts, a
door to the unseen outside front of the house upstage right, there were two large double doors
upstage center leading to the backyard garden, and a raised floor upstage left containing a piano, a

All of the family members acted genuine. There was one actor who stood out as a perfect fit for
his character. Taylor Rascher played Simon Bliss and played him perfectly. Rascher s character
Simon was a young man who was dramatic and romantic so much so it was almost to the point
of ridiculousness. Rascher stole the show in the first act when he was romancing with Michelle
Luz, who plays Myra Arundel. Rascher was displaying his love for Michelle Luz (Myra) in the
most dramatic of fashions; he was playing the Bliss game of pretending to be in complete love
with someone and then a moment later change his mind. Rascher was proclaiming his love with
elegant speeches and coddling up next to her and eventually kissing her. Rascher made this
scene particularly hilarious because he was completely over the top in typical Bliss fashion. Of
course, all of this was for naught because Luz ended up kissing Joe Hubbard s character David
Bliss in act two and also Rascher proclaimed his engagement to Caitlin Stagemoller s character,
Jackie Coryton. Rascher made his voice more shrill and audible to appear to be more dramatic and
create more attention for himself. In the same way, Rascher used grander gestures with his arms
(flailing, waving, etc.) to cause a more dramatic effect.
The play was well interpreted by all whom were involved. Steven Wrentmore, the Director, kept the
1920 s feel by dressing in all 1920 s costumes and everyone spoke as if they were

Lincoln s Emancipation of the Slaves Essay
The Emancipation Proclamation speech was actually intended for most of the people that would
free the slaves, not to the slaves. According to Carl Rollyson the Proclamation was not intended for
the slave, blacks, or former slaves. The Emancipation Proclamation speech was during the
Antislavery Movement or what some people call the Abolitionist Movement, during the 1860 s. The
main leaders of the abolitionist movement were Abraham Lincolnand Fredrick Douglas. The point
of Lincoln writing the speech about emancipating the slaves was to free the slaves and win the civil
war. Lincoln had written a speech titled The Emancipation Proclamation. He wrote this speech and

Lincoln had many purposes of writing the speech about the emancipation of the slaves.
Lincoln most likely had many reasons to write this speech, but there was one main reason that
stood out the most to Veronica Majerol. Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation to
transform the nature of the Civil War such as, helping the Union secure victory in the Civil Car.
In addition, it had freed the slaves in all of the confederate states but not in the Union states
because he did not want to lose his support in the northern states. If Lincoln would have freed the
slaves in the entire United States of America he would have lost all of his supporters in the north
that had slaves. In addition he would have lost the civil war because of his lack of troops. It
authorized the enlistment of free blocks for armed service, free slaves from farms (Majerol).
Therefore, Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation because he wanted the support of the
blacks so that they could join and help them win the Civil War. Lincoln signed the proclamation
because he knew that the blacks would make up most of the soldiers in the civil war. ...blacks made
up about twenty percent of the Union Army, tipping the balance of military power decisively in
favor of the Union (Majerol). Resulting in the fact that Lincoln

The Importance Of Ethnic Minorities
Society consists of complex processes which affect different groups in different ways and some
groups, for various reasons, can experience high rates of disadvantage and oppression. Multiple
aspects of a person s identity can create significant bias, resulting in disproportionate treatment.
Young black males for example, especially those from lower socio economic backgrounds, suffer
discrimination considerably more on the basis of their different attributes; being young, male and
belonging to an ethnic minority groupwhilst a status of being from poorer backgrounds further
disadvantages their opportunities and their position in society (Solanke, 2009). Intersectional
frameworks play a key role by enabling a deeper insight into social institutions and practices
concerning ethnic minorities and social problems which arise through inequality. The way
institutions, such as the criminal justice system and the police, deal with ethnic minority groups
contributes to ongoing stigma and discrimination, especially that of young males as their actions
influence external perceptions of the general public towards ethnic minorities, thus allowing for
continued racial abuse and discrimination. This essay will focus on the disparities of young black
and minority ethnic (BME) males in the criminal justice system and identify intersectional
influences overrepresentation within the system in order to recognise the inequalities these people
face and promote social justice.

Fascism is a type of extremist, right wing, totalitarian and nationalist ideology which first emerged
during the beginning of the 20th century in Europe. The growth of fascism in Europe after the end
of the First World War was caused by a combination of the socio economic and political conditions
which enabled Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler to come to power over the period prior to the
Second World War. Indeed, Blinkhorn comments that European fascismis, and always will be,
inextricably associated with the years between the end of the First World War and the end of the
Second (Blinkhorn 7). These conditions saw the development of nationalist ideologies and the
emergence of the fascist party in Italy and the National Socialist Party in Germany.
The main features of fascism as implemented by Mussolini and Hitler were based on nationalist,
expansionist foreign policies in combination with domestic policies which boosted the economy
and raised living standards. Indeed, Gentile comments that fascism in both Italy and Germany
wanted to conquer new countries and spread the empire of the totalitarian new civilization all over
the New Europe (Gentile 181). The direct actions of both Mussolini and Hitler in ... Show more

The probability to ignore failure can allow it to reoccur (smaller failure growing into bigger
failure). Lack of understanding and resolving a small problem can lead to bigger losses in a

of $50 million was recorded by the company, furthermore, another loss of $184 million was
recorded for the preceding quarter but still she refused to take action, she continued to commit the
same error for the subsequent two quarters. Another example is the Australian HIH insurance
group, the company was the largest corporate failure in Australia. It was observed that the little

Cheating And Cheating By Joe Posnanski Summary
In Cheating and CHEATING by Joe Posnanski in response to an article written by Pete Hamill he
argues that baseball has never been an innocent game even since its conception. The main focus
is on one the most decorated baseball players in our history named Willie Mays. Posnanski uses
a quote in his article from Pete Hamill stating that the only drug from that time of baseball (mid
1900s) was joy and says I didn t know joy was another word for amphetamines . Posnanski states
further on that one of Mays teammates when interviewed says he saw a red colored drink in Mays
locker he referred to as greenies. So if drugs were okay then when taken by Mays among other
players then why are we so outraged now when we find out a player has been taking steroids? So
what if Mays had a drink of red juice in his locker before games, was comfortable with doing

The Changeable Nature of the Air Transport Market Essay
The Changeable Nature of the Air Transport Market
Introduction:
Throughout it s history, the air transport industry has frequently demonstrated adjustment to the
current demands and economical circumstances of the market through increased fuel prices,
multiple recessions and an increase in ASK s and RSK s (ASK = 1 seat flown 1km and RSK = 1
revenue paying customer flown 1km). This informal report will seek to outline some examples of
how the industry has adapted both in the cargo and passenger markets. These two broad markets
will be expanded into some significant subsections and, using recent examples, I will seek to
demonstrate how they adapt. Appendix A is a table displaying the areas that will be covered.

The idea of a codeshare was to allow multiple companies to sell seats on a flight without them
having to actually fly the route . New codeshares are constantly being created as airlines see
opportunities to increase frequency of flights to certain destinations. Recent codeshares have been
developed between JetBlue and Turkish Airlines , Sri Lankan and Finnair and US Airways and
British Airways .
Charter:
Charter airlines seek to either provide a high end business experience or a full holiday package to
customers. In recent years charter companies have lost consumers, particularly in the United
Kingdom, as can be seen in Appendix B. However, Thomas Cook and TUI, two of the largest
charter companies, have made some adjustments to try to create more interest. One method they
have employed to restructure their air capacity has been to reassign seats to a variety of sources,
through charter, scheduled and in house flights as shown in Appendix C.
Cargo Transport:
The next section of this report will focus on how cargo carriers have adapted to move with the ever
changing air transport industry.
Specialist Cargo:
At night, although passenger travel has been reduced to a minimum, companies such as Cargolux
take to the skies to move large quantities of cargo across the globe. The demand for this kind of
service and the number of FTK s (Freight Tons per Kilometer) has reduced steeply over the past
few years .

Summary Of The Shawl By Louise Erdrich
The Shawl by Louise Erdrich
Among the Anishinaabeg on the road where I live, it is told how a woman loved a man other
than her husband and went off into the bush and bore his child. Her name was Aanakwad, which
means cloud, and like a cloud she was changeable. She was moody and sullen one moment, her
lower lip jutting and her eyes flashing, filled with storms. The next, she would shake her hair over
her face and blow it straight out in front of her to make her children scream with laughter. For she
also had two children by her husband, one a yearning boy of five years and the other a capable
daughter of nine.
When Aanakwad brought the new baby out of the trees that autumn, the older girl was like a second
mother, even waking in the night to clean the baby and nudge it to her mother s breast.
Aanakwad slept through its cries, hardly woke. It wasn t that she didn t love her baby; no, it
was the opposite she loved it too much, the way she loved its father, and not her husband. This
passion ate away at her, and her feelings were unbearable. If she could have thrown off that
wronghearted love, she would have, but the thought of the other man, who lived across the lake,
was with her always. She became a gray sky, stared monotonously at the walls, sometimes wept
into her hands for hours at a time. Soon, she couldn t rise to cook or keep the cabin neat, and it
was too much for the girl, who curled up each night exhausted in her red and brown plaid shawl,
and slept and slept, until

Safe Injection Sites Research Paper
Two experts are debating on a widespread question that is becoming more severe than ever. Drug
abuse and addiction is an issue spreading throughout the entire country with multiple pros and cons
arising; therefore, creating many opportunities for opinionated discussions. Dr. Brian Johnson
made distinct, appropriate points to negate the validity of safe injection sites are not a valid
response to the opioid epidemic. One point expressed in the pro/con portion is, [i]f a Ford Motor
truck causes expectable deaths because the truck is dangerous, Ford pays, not taxpayers. (Johnson).
This should not differ because the choices are being made consciously. The amount of deaths
caused by drugabuse is skyrocketing. Taxpayers should not be forced to help with this situation,
much like the taxpayers would not have to pay for a vehicle accident that they did not cause. The
company/provider should be the ones to take responsibility for their actions and decisions. A valid
response is not being forced to pay... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brian Johnson expressed his opinion of the issue at hand, [l]et s see the proposal for safe injection
sites for what it is just another way to help dealers sell their drugs in the guise of being safe.
(Johnson). This idea speaks more loudly than any other presented in the discussion. Safe injection
sites are not the right way to go about helping addiction. There are many flaws in this decision that
can affect the outcome of a patient. Agreeing to continue to provide the drugs to which they are
already addicted is nothing short of naive. This is just allowing the dealers to continue making
money on something that is illegal; it should be prohibited, not advertised.
Drug abuse and addiction is something that is still overlooked throughout the United States. This
issue is real and life threatening; it should be treated as so. Safe injection sites are not valid

  • 4. David Vivas . Mrs. Bradley . English 11 Period 2. May David Vivas Mrs. Bradley English 11; Period 2 May 3, 2017 Their Eyes Were Watching God In this story, I have found that the themes that have stood out to me is gender and love. These themes have captured a major thematic idea by gender being discriminated against the women and the men. Gender is described as women being weaker than the men and men being the powerful ones. Love is described in this story as independent until it is found. Finding love is a part of life and everybody tries to find it but when it is found, it seems like you have lived you life to the fullest. These examples of the themes can be brought into the real world and can affect how people live their lives. My first theme is going to be about gender. In the novel, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gender can happen in the real world which can lead to personal experiences. I have experienced some gender inequality throughout my life and have had family situations since I have been alive. For instance, my parents lived in a time where men went to work and the women had to clean, cook, and stuff around the house. I have experienced some problems myself by my brother and I having to do outside yard work while my sister only does inside work. She claims that yard work is for men and it s a man s job. . What I have to say about that is that men and women don t need to do work based off if it is a man or woman s job, work is work and you shouldn t base it off gender inequality. Another situation I was faced with was when my mom was trying to get a job, she was trying to get a job at selling Tupperware. She was faced with you can t sell Tupperware because you are a woman and people don t buy stuff off of women. . She sticked with her gut and went for it, now she is very successful in her business and doesn t let what a guy said to her stop her. Another theme I chose from the story was love. Love can be a powerful thing or a devastating thing. For example, After that she came to where Joe Starks was waiting for her with a hired rig. He was very solemn and helped her to the seat beside him. With him on it, it sat like some high, ruling chair. From now on until death she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This aims to promote an all inclusive cooperation across the region, gearing towards making South East Asia a globally competitive single market and production base characterized by: free flow of goods, services, investments, skills, and capitals. Moreover, it intends to form a region of equitable economic development integrated into the global economy (The ASEAN Secretariat, 200) Creating a single market with about 600 million people is an enormous step for ASEAN (The ASEAN Secretariat, 2015). This veto is titled, The Cat Bill Veto. The Illinois senate received a bill from a concerned citizen. The citizen feels that cats should be contained because of the public nuisance some see cats to be. Throughout the years, the women have accomplished so much more than the men, but yet are being paid less than what the men are making. They have experienced rough conditions of the fields when they play their matches, which can lead to serious career ending injuries. It s our responsibility to know what s right and what s wrong in the federation and stick up for the people being torn and brought down from discrimination. The U.S Soccer Federation is being brought to attention and being investigated of the discrimination towards the women. For example, The U.S Soccer Federation is a 501 nonprofit and the official governing body of the sport of soccer in the United States. (Wikipedia1). This clearly demonstrates that the federation is in charge of the soccer, and it is understood that they are more than capable of changing the discrimination between the women and the men. The significance is that being the federation they have all of the power to determine how much pay each national team gets, and only they can do what s right in this situation. In addition, According to a budget report from the U.S Soccer Federation, the women s team is projected to bring in more than $17 million in revenues, including a $5 million surplus for a fiscal year 2017, nearly doubling their male counterparts. I was probing my mind for this answer, but couldn t not found the answer. I said the basic thing every kid would say I would like to be a veterinarian. I figured that would be good career because I loved animals and it doesn t pay to bad. My mind kept that question till I found an answer that made sense in what I want to be. The start is always a difficult thing to do in founding out what you really want to be. I know what I wanted as much as anybody. I wanted a house, a wife, and kids living in a nice place that my kids will be able to grow and love. I also wanted to be a nutritionist, engineer, architect, sports medicine, and something related to sports. As I was comparing the many majors and how I am I noticed a pattern. I like the idea of creating things, helping others, and hands on activities. That is the reason I went with physical therapybecause it is close to sports, hands on, and helping others. When choosing my major, I couldn t just apply for the program. I had to have a undergraduate degree before hand. The reason being is that it is a Doctorate degree and I have to complete certain requirements to apply for it before I actually can do it. • 10. Stealth Aircraft On Bombing Missions The advantages and disadvantages of using stealth aircraft on bombing missions are varied, from their use in conflict to the risks and costs involved in operating such an aircraft. They are beneficial in restricting the length and time of battles especially when capable of long missions, but at a substantial cost to both the crew operating the craft and the US Air Force itself. This essay will explore the long missions the F 117 and B 2 stealth aircraftare capable of, the costs involved in developing and operating such aircraft, and their efficiency in battle. An advantage of using stealth aircraft such as the F 117 Nighthawk and the B 2 Spirit stealth bomber is the capability that these aircraft have to undertake long missions. The B 2 was first used in 1999 in the Kosovo War, when six aircraft flew a non stop round journey from their Missouri base, a mission taking 30 hours. The aircraft are highly automated, from their navigational systems to their weaponry and attack systems. They navigate using GPS and highly accurate inertial guidance systems which assist the autopilot functions. Bombing missions are automatically organised by a digital planning system that can carry out all functions, including release of the weapons themselves. Laser guided bombs are used such as a pair of GBU 10, GBU 12, or BLU 109 penetration bombs, or Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs). Because of the high level of automation, and the decreasing cost and size of electronic equipment, it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Did Helen Keller Get A Place In History The Life of Helen Keller Helen Keller deserves a place in history because she changed a lot of people s perspectives and how they think about being deaf and blind. This does offer a clear answer to why she deserves a place in history. Adding in what she went through as a child would make it better. Motivation Helen Keller struggled for most of her early years to communicate with other people. At the age of 10 she was very determined to learn how to talk. She went to a deaf and blind school for learning how to talk. Her teacher was also deaf and blind at one point in her life but it later returned. She was determined to prove her doubters wrong. • 12. Forgiveness Being able to forgive and forget allows people to continue to move on with their lives instead of dwelling on a situation. However, would one be able to forget about a situation more easily if they have forgiven their transgressor first? Saima, Bierman, and MacLeod (2014) proposed a study to address this question. They believe this is an important question to address because if forgiving makes forgetting easier, it will allow people who are able to forgive to release offenses, empowering them to preserve valued relationships and move on with their lives. The independent variable presented in these studies is forgiveness and the dependent variable is the ability to forget. The participants were between the ages of 18 and 39 and were made up ... But, contrary to what many people think, cannibalism is very much alive and still being practiced within many countries including The United States of America; it s just that the government hasn t found out about it yet. This paper will take you through cannibalisms history, the different types of cannibalism, and its different cases. Cannibalism is one of the strangest and most horrific American restrictions. When the common person thinks of cannibalism a disturbed serial killer who cuts his victims into pieces and boils them in bloody water quickly comes to mind. Cannibalism is exactly defined as the eating of one s own species; cannibals are people eating people. Cannibals have a long, broad, and sometimes an honorable history. • 14. Suffering In Cormac Mccarthy s Blood Meridian There is a horde of explanations pertaining to the epilogue of Blood Meridian. The short passage has sparked ideas of the idealistic human nature of suffering, the search for enlightenment through Gnosticism, and the subtle persuasion that lies beneath eloquent language, both in Judge Holden s claims and Cormac McCarthys narration. It is important, before delving into these ideas, that the passage is recounted. In the dawn there is a man progressing over the plain by means of holes that he is making in the ground. He uses an implement with two handles and he chucks it into the hole and he enkindles the stone in the hole with his steel hole by hole striking the fire out of the rock which God has put there. He has no desire to alleviate human suffering, or to intervene in humanity s slow self destruction; he only watches. McCarthy uses these ideas as a platform for the bizarre atmosphere of the West, calling into question why a creator in favor of humanity would create a place so desolate and violent. The man in the epilogue is described as striking the fire out of the rock which God has put there, suggesting that he is a pneumatic (Someone who understands the true state of the cosmos and the nature of the nameless Alien God ) who frees the sparks of the divine fire trapped in matter or rock by the God of this world, the demiurge. Within the context of Gnosticism, the steel of the man s tool causes sparks as he digs; each hole dispersing these sparks into the cosmos and restoring unity to the Alien God. This difficult process is one of salvation, and the pneumatics task is a long and ongoing one, as each spark that dies without escaping to the alien God is thrown back into its realm, and thus they all move on again like clockwork, presumably until the last bit of fire has been freed from the rocks. In this framework, those who have not attained spiritual enlightenment follow the man and the holes he s making. Those who search for bones are followers of religions that claim that all will be revealed in the afterlife. These wanderers look to the empty promise of death for salvation, not realizing that without Gnosis (Gnostic enlightenment) they will be flung back into the manifest world, life after life. The ones who do not search are the materialists, content with the achievement of wealth and power, who are even less awakened to Gnosis than those who search for answers in bones. It s 7:43 and most students are making a mad dash to beat the morning bell, others linger around the green courtyard, catching up with friends, dreading going to class. I make my way through the maze of students, and I catch my best friend, Lauren, in the stairwell at the top of A building, both on our way to the history class we have together. We do not say a word, just share a look that says we want to go home and we need more coffee, before we head into class. Our class is always in chaos in the mornings. The boys compare what they have for breakfast today and discuss last night s baseball game play by play, while the girls get together and share a bit of gossip they heard last night and begin to make plans for the weekend. Today was no exception. Just as the tardy bell rings, I sit in my seat at the corner of the room and notice that Kaylin, who sits behind me, is crying. Her face is red and blotchy and she is staring at her phone. Attention is a fascinating and highly researched area in psychology. We use attention every day and though it seems like something simple it is actually a complex process. Some of the most interesting studies conducted were cases where people were not paying attention as one would assume. Phenomena like Pseudoneglect, Hemispatial neglect, and Inattentional blindness incites psychologists because they want to know why such cognitive deficits occur. These types of phenomena all stems from attention. The ability to be completely normal, but make leftward errors in line bisection because the left side of space tends to be favored; the ability to only attend to one side of one s body and completely ignore the other; or the fact that we miss activities that occur right in front us, all contribute to cognitive research that interest researchers. Studies about attention are separated into two groups, spatial attention and temporal attention. Spatial attention simply means attention in space and temporal attention measures attention over time. This study concentrates on temporal attention and how it relates to learning. In this study we wanted to measure whether or not implicit learning occurs with time in the RSVP task. Mini-Bestest Evaluation The Mini BESTest Because the administration of the BESTest takes from 45 to 60 minutes, which may not be practical in all clinical settings, a condensed shorter version of the BESTest (Mini BESTest) was created. Through the basis of rash analysis, unnecessary items and 2 sections of the BESTest, biomechanical constrains and stability limits/vertically, were removed to yield the assessment of dynamic balance. The Mini BESTest contains 14 items of the original 36 items from the BESTest. The items on the Mini BESTest are scored on a 3 point scale ranging from (0) to (2). A score of (0) indicates the lowest level of function and a score of (2) indicates the highest level of function, leading to a possible total score of 28 points (Yingyongyudha et al., 2015). In this story, Brahma, the Hindu creator God, re creates the Earth every four ages to bring the Earth to its original condition. To create beings, Brahma meditates and uses his mind. Brahma s thoughts are then transformed into beings. To begin inhabiting the world, Brahma starts by creating the evil or demons, this becomes the darkness. Brahma then creates the good, which became the light. Afterwards, Brahma begins to create human beings. Brahma then began thinking strangely, and as a result, horrible creatures were created. Brahma was so horrified with his actions that all the hairs on his head fell out, and he mistakenly created ghouls as well. Upon moving on from the dark thoughts, Brahma was able to create all of the other living things we know today. In Thoughts of Brahma, the central theme of the story is creation. Whether the creating is good or evil, this myth focuses on explaining the process on how the world became what it is today, and how its inhabitants were formed. The Importance Of Ethnic Minorities Society consists of complex processes which affect different groups in different ways and some groups, for various reasons, can experience high rates of disadvantage and oppression. Multiple aspects of a person s identity can create significant bias, resulting in disproportionate treatment. Young black males for example, especially those from lower socio economic backgrounds, suffer discrimination considerably more on the basis of their different attributes; being young, male and belonging to an ethnic minority groupwhilst a status of being from poorer backgrounds further disadvantages their opportunities and their position in society (Solanke, 2009). Intersectional frameworks play a key role by enabling a deeper insight into social institutions and practices concerning ethnic minorities and social problems which arise through inequality. The way institutions, such as the criminal justice system and the police, deal with ethnic minority groups contributes to ongoing stigma and discrimination, especially that of young males as their actions influence external perceptions of the general public towards ethnic minorities, thus allowing for continued racial abuse and discrimination. Cheating And Cheating By Joe Posnanski Summary In Cheating and CHEATING by Joe Posnanski in response to an article written by Pete Hamill he argues that baseball has never been an innocent game even since its conception. The main focus is on one the most decorated baseball players in our history named Willie Mays. Posnanski uses a quote in his article from Pete Hamill stating that the only drug from that time of baseball (mid 1900s) was joy and says I didn t know joy was another word for amphetamines . Posnanski states further on that one of Mays teammates when interviewed says he saw a red colored drink in Mays locker he referred to as greenies. So if drugs were okay then when taken by Mays among other players then why are we so outraged now when we find out a player has been taking steroids? So what if Mays had a drink of red juice in his locker before games, was comfortable with doing whatever it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Let s say you re about to start a football game and while passing the opposing football team earlier you happened to hear their game plan so, now would you take advantage of knowing their game plan or just pretend you didn t hear anything? If you would take advantage of that knowledge then why wouldn t you take performance enhancing drugs too they are both cheating. So when it really boils down to it we are a society of cheaters. As a nation, we worship one thing even more than God and country. We revere winners and turn a blind eye to those who are winning. Our society is so focused on results that we are training our children to become results machines and that we should use any means necessary to achieve the highest results even if those results are created by cheating. No matter the sport there is someone cheating and no sport is truly innocent. The problem with baseball now is that it has given up on hiding the fact that cheating is happening and has started to become an accepted factor in the beloved ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 51. The Changeable Nature of the Air Transport Market Essay The Changeable Nature of the Air Transport Market Introduction: Throughout it s history, the air transport industry has frequently demonstrated adjustment to the current demands and economical circumstances of the market through increased fuel prices, multiple recessions and an increase in ASK s and RSK s (ASK = 1 seat flown 1km and RSK = 1 revenue paying customer flown 1km). This informal report will seek to outline some examples of how the industry has adapted both in the cargo and passenger markets. These two broad markets will be expanded into some significant subsections and, using recent examples, I will seek to demonstrate how they adapt. Appendix A is a table displaying the areas that will be covered. Passenger Transport: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The idea of a codeshare was to allow multiple companies to sell seats on a flight without them having to actually fly the route . New codeshares are constantly being created as airlines see opportunities to increase frequency of flights to certain destinations. Recent codeshares have been developed between JetBlue and Turkish Airlines , Sri Lankan and Finnair and US Airways and British Airways . Charter: Charter airlines seek to either provide a high end business experience or a full holiday package to customers. In recent years charter companies have lost consumers, particularly in the United Kingdom, as can be seen in Appendix B. However, Thomas Cook and TUI, two of the largest charter companies, have made some adjustments to try to create more interest. One method they have employed to restructure their air capacity has been to reassign seats to a variety of sources, through charter, scheduled and in house flights as shown in Appendix C. Cargo Transport: The next section of this report will focus on how cargo carriers have adapted to move with the ever changing air transport industry. Specialist Cargo: At night, although passenger travel has been reduced to a minimum, companies such as Cargolux take to the skies to move large quantities of cargo across the globe. The demand for this kind of service and the number of FTK s (Freight Tons per Kilometer) has reduced steeply over the past few years . ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 53. Summary Of The Shawl By Louise Erdrich The Shawl by Louise Erdrich Among the Anishinaabeg on the road where I live, it is told how a woman loved a man other than her husband and went off into the bush and bore his child. Her name was Aanakwad, which means cloud, and like a cloud she was changeable. She was moody and sullen one moment, her lower lip jutting and her eyes flashing, filled with storms. The next, she would shake her hair over her face and blow it straight out in front of her to make her children scream with laughter. For she also had two children by her husband, one a yearning boy of five years and the other a capable daughter of nine. When Aanakwad brought the new baby out of the trees that autumn, the older girl was like a second mother, even waking in the night to clean the baby and nudge it to her mother s breast. Aanakwad slept through its cries, hardly woke. It wasn t that she didn t love her baby; no, it was the opposite she loved it too much, the way she loved its father, and not her husband. This passion ate away at her, and her feelings were unbearable. If she could have thrown off that wronghearted love, she would have, but the thought of the other man, who lived across the lake, was with her always. She became a gray sky, stared monotonously at the walls, sometimes wept into her hands for hours at a time. Soon, she couldn t rise to cook or keep the cabin neat, and it was too much for the girl, who curled up each night exhausted in her red and brown plaid shawl, and slept and slept, until ... • 55. Safe Injection Sites Research Paper Two experts are debating on a widespread question that is becoming more severe than ever. Drug abuse and addiction is an issue spreading throughout the entire country with multiple pros and cons arising; therefore, creating many opportunities for opinionated discussions. Dr. Brian Johnson made distinct, appropriate points to negate the validity of safe injection sites are not a valid response to the opioid epidemic. One point expressed in the pro/con portion is, [i]f a Ford Motor truck causes expectable deaths because the truck is dangerous, Ford pays, not taxpayers. (Johnson). This should not differ because the choices are being made consciously. The amount of deaths caused by drugabuse is skyrocketing. Taxpayers should not be forced to help with this situation, much like the taxpayers would not have to pay for a vehicle accident that they did not cause. The company/provider should be the ones to take responsibility for their actions and decisions. A valid response is not being forced to pay... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Brian Johnson expressed his opinion of the issue at hand, [l]et s see the proposal for safe injection sites for what it is just another way to help dealers sell their drugs in the guise of being safe. (Johnson). This idea speaks more loudly than any other presented in the discussion. Safe injection sites are not the right way to go about helping addiction. There are many flaws in this decision that can affect the outcome of a patient. Agreeing to continue to provide the drugs to which they are already addicted is nothing short of naive. This is just allowing the dealers to continue making money on something that is illegal; it should be prohibited, not advertised. Drug abuse and addiction is something that is still overlooked throughout the United States. This issue is real and life threatening; it should be treated as so.
