Fidelity is the crucial virtue in The Odyssey. Fidelity is what drives the story of
Odysseus s journey: it is both Odysseus s reason for returning home and the means
for him to get home. In the course of the story, Homer dramatizes the nature of
fidelity by contrasting different forms of fidelity and their opposites. This essay will
examine three forms of fidelity and the roles they play in Odysseus s journey.
The most noticeable form of fidelity is sexual fidelity, or faithfulness. Odysseus
loves his wife, Penelope, and he wants nothing more than to get back home to her;

Abstract:
This study assessed policy and institutional frameworks impacting on vegetable seed
production and distribution systems in Cameroon in order to establish benchmark
indicators for successful integration and/or diversification of vegetables into existing
cocoa based farming systems in the humid tropics of Cameroon. Results reveal that
official regulations and other policy instruments necessary to boost the vegetable seed
sector in Cameroon do exist, but need to be re formulated into more concrete and
implementable actions on the ground. The study identified and characterized two
main vegetable seed supply systems namely: the dominant informal system dealing
mainly with traditional vegetable species such as Amaranthus spp (amaranth) and
the formal seed supply system characterised by mostly by the production and sale
of globally important vegetable seed such as Brassica oleracea var. capitata
(cabbage). The major constraints observed in the vegetable seed sub sector include
the inadaptability of legal instruments to the vegetable seed sector, absence of
effective storage conditions, absence of seed testing facilities, poor knowledge on
seed production and processing and the heterogeneity of seeds. Consequently, farmers
are obliged to fall back to unimproved seeds to the detriment of agricultural yields.

It took me years to figure out what I wanted to be when I grow up. Honestly, I still
don t know and don t ever plan to. Mostly because I cannot imagine becoming a
true adult. I d have to do adult things like returning a sweater I didn t like or
gardening. Gardening: to spend hours upon hours toiling in fields for plants that
won t live to see spring! Or worse imagine me cooking, forbid it that I should ever
enjoy cooking! Half the time I mess up boiling water and make macaroni only from a
microwave. I m still afraid of librarians and speaking to strangers. I intend to use
Mickey Mouse band aids, color with crayons and eat Lucky Charms until the day I m
cold in my grave. I could never be a good adult.
Thus, it s easy to see how when I was younger I had no idea what I wanted to be. I
just knew I wanted to be good at something and be helpful to people. I hoped the
person would know I had invested time to make their life easier. It never mattered
if they remembered my name or my face, just more that I had cared about them.
Yet, I was afraid. I didn t think I had the courage, the ability, to be exceptional at an

pieces, and they had to take shelter in their neighbor s basement. Debris rained on
top of them from every direction. They struggled to get out of a pit that was
covered in pieces of their destroyed home, wood, nails, glass, and crushed cement. A
