Essay On Green Energy
Writing an essay on the topic of "Green Energy" can be both challenging and rewarding. On one
hand, the subject is vast and multifaceted, encompassing a wide range of scientific,
technological, environmental, and socio-economic aspects. This breadth of information can make
it difficult to decide which specific aspects to focus on within the limited scope of an essay.
Moreover, staying updated on the latest advancements in green energy technologies and policies
is crucial for crafting a well-informed and relevant essay. This field is dynamic, with ongoing
developments that may reshape the landscape of green energy. Keeping abreast of these changes
while maintaining a coherent narrative in the essay requires dedicated research and critical
thinking.
Another challenge lies in striking the right balance between technical details and accessibility for
a general audience. Green energy involves intricate scientific and engineering concepts that
might be challenging for readers without a background in these fields. Hence, the writer must
convey complex ideas in a way that is both informative and understandable to a diverse
audience.
Furthermore, addressing the socio-economic and political dimensions of green energy adds an
extra layer of complexity. The essay must explore how green energy initiatives impact
communities, economies, and global geopolitics. This requires a nuanced understanding of
diverse perspectives and an ability to present a comprehensive analysis.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Green Energy" demands a blend of scientific
knowledge, research skills, and effective communication. Navigating the intricate details while
maintaining clarity for a general audience is no small feat. However, the importance of the
subject and its potential impact on our planet makes the effort worthwhile.

Tuberculosis Is An Infectious Disease
World Health Organization estimated one third of the world s population is suffering
with this disease at present even though there is vaccine widely available, there is
still a high morbidity rate in some countries every year. Africa, Western and Southeast
Asia are the most affected areas, making approximately 86 percent of tuberculosis
cases in the world. This research paper will discuss, tuberculosis in New Zealand. It
will discuss the biology of the bacterium, risks factors and the importance of
immunisation and prevention.
Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium
tuberculosis (Marieb, 2012). Tuberculosis is a contagious infection that begins in
the lungs and spread to other organs in the body including the kidneys, brain and
bones. Tuberculosis is spread by inhaling airborne droplets from an infected
person. These airborne particles are spread when the infected person sneezes,
coughs or laughs. Tuberculosis cannot be spread, by contact. Tuberculosis is caused
by a rod shaped bacterium or bacillus called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. These
droplets are discharged into the air by a person with active tuberculosis (Britannica,
2012). The spreading progress is very effective. These droplets can remain in the air
for several hours in addition it only needs ten bacilli to start an infection. When the
infected air is breathed in, the bacilli enter the lungs through the bronchioles and into
the alveoli. The bacilli then infect the alveoli
Implications Of Research On Research
Implications of research
Authenticity; this is research carried out which aims to include new knowledge and
understanding, produce new data or interpret knowledge which was already used in a
new form. The researcher is required and must not alter observations made,
questionnaires, interviews and focus groups done. The research must be carried out
with integrity. However researchers may end up changing data as they may be
pressurised or they need to be a deadline. (Srmo.sagepub.com, 2015).For example,
gathering feedback on hospitals in a certain area, the researcher may feel like they do
not have time and need to meet a deadline to visit all hospitals, so they end up using
outdated information. Another instance may be changing information, ... Show more

If the research lacks external validity, findings cannot be applied to contexts, apart
from ones carried out in the research (Shuttleworth and Shuttleworth, 2015).
For example, if a research is carried out about men only, such as more men are
likely to get coronary heart disease and they only ask men for feedback or to attend
focus groups and fill in questionnaires; the findings will only apply to men and not
to females. However, this would not be valid data as even though women are less
likely to suffer from coronary heart disease, there is also a rare chance they could
get it too. Another example can be, if a researcher was presenting their findings on
underage smoking but they have no evidence to back up. Such as statistics,
feedback, surveys and so forth. This would make their validity of the research very
weak as there is no support showing their findings or conclusion.
Reliability, which is a further implication of research, and is concerned with the
consistency of results. This means if another researcher researched on the same topic;
using the same methods, which therefore would produce the same results. It may be
less likely to happen as the research may be carried out in a different place, different
time and different people, which would lead to very dissimilar results (Shuttleworth
and Shuttleworth, 2015)
This can be proven when, for example if a

This can be seen in Figure 2, which states The kabuki stage is equipped with
various mechanical contrivances for dramatic effect. One of these is the Seri, a
platform that can be raised and lowered from below the stage to make actors appear
and disappear Nowadays, this is motor driven.
Figure 2 was a much earlier depiction of the stage, now it is much more intricate.
There are over fifteen aspects to the stage that make it unique to Kabuki theatre.
Each one holds an important aspect. It is more in depth in Figure 3. Primarily,
when starting from the top left and working the way down comes the mawaributal,
which is known as the revolving stage. The mawaributal used to be operated only
using human power and provide for simple scene changes by simply revolving the
center section of the stage. Not only does it allow all of the audience to view the
scene it is also much more appealing then abrupt scene changes. Then comes the

The Importance Of City Development
725 Ponce is part of the New City development projects, which pursues the
preservation of historic structures while seeking modern use for them focusing on
sustainability, technology and its community. It will be a $140 million mixed use
renovation with a 60,000 square foot urban prototype Kroger below a 360,000
square feet class A loft office space. This construction has direct access to the
Atlanta Beltline and is just steps away from Ponce City Market encouraging a
walkable urban lifestyle. It is located less than a mile away from Midtown s heart,
and it is less than a 5 minute drive from the I 85 connector. Additionally, the site will
have its own shuttle bus that drives to nearby MARTA stops. Its critical location has...

More in detail, the design involves large efficient floor plates (iron/steel) and high
end finishes. The construction will involve the use of materials such as reinforced
concrete and steel for the structure, the stairway, and other significant spaces. The
exterior toughened glass of the building is also a key material. [Still missing
information on which type of glass will be used]. The building itself will have a
mezzanine floor that will divide the office lobby and the parking areas.
Construction Activities
Overview and Work Breakdown Structure
One of the most significant characteristics of 725 Ponce is the large open air space
beneath the office floors, where the new Kroger and green space will be located. In
order to have a large enough open air space beneath the building, 39 large concrete
columns are currently being built at the site, which is a part of the construction of
the foundation, as seen with the Work Breakdown Structure in Figure 1. The first
activity of this process is placing the rebar that will be located within each column,
and this activity looked nearly complete during our site visit. From looking at
renderings of 725 Ponce, we estimate that each column will be about 30 feet tall;
during our site visit, the rebar in place looked approximately this tall, leading us to
believe this construction activity is about 90% complete.
The second activity in order to create the massive concrete columns is to pour the
concrete in
Sexity And Sexuality In Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market
Christina Rossetti s, Goblin Market message focuses around the sexual content and
vicious descriptions of men, symbolizing them as goblins. This narrative poem
focuses on two girls, Lizzie and Laura, who get tempted by the goblins selling a
generous variety of fruits. Many readers made a first connection to the story
understanding it to be relating to sexuality and virginity. Making it hard for the
readers to see what other moral or messages might be there that could potential be the
main ones. With a different shift of focus, and a fresh new perspective, the hidden
compassionate message of sisterhood can be found. GoblinMarket s focus is not
entirely on the steamy erotic poem that is designed to challenge sexuality during the
Victorian era, but rather the sexual content is a method of disproving the
misconceptions regarding powerless women, and showing how powerful the bond is
between the two sisters as they break the expectations of society.
As this poem is written in the Victorian era, restrictions against women and how
they are supposed to behave and act can be clearly seen in the details of this poem.
In the beginning, the speaker provides the main factors about the girls. The speaker
tells the readers that they are quite scared to look at the goblins, We must not look at
goblin men/We must not buy their fruits (7). Offering readers a sense that they are
taught not to make eye contact with men. At the beginning, they may seem like they
are afraid to challenge the
Maintenance Of International Peace And Security
The exact phrase maintenance of international peace and security is used eight times
in the United Nations Charter, but now almost seventy years after the founding of the
organization the international organization s competence in pursuit of this lofty goal
is still subject to debate. The charter of the United Nationsgives the Security Council
the sole power determine the existence of a threat to world peace and prescribe
course of action needed to be taken against it. The five permanent members of the
Security Council each have the power to veto any action by the council. Requiring
the concurrence of five powers with diverse and wide reaching interests makes any
decisive action quite difficult to come by. However the Security Council... Show more

Collective security was a principal goal of the League of Nations and its principal
failure. When Japan invaded Manchuria and Italy invaded Ethiopia, the League
condemned the actions, but none of its members mobilized military force to rollback
the aggressors. Unlike the League, the United Nations has united the militaries of its
several of its members beneath its banner to defeat an aggressive state. However such
action has only occurred twice and only when the proverbial stars aligned.
When North Korea invaded South Korea on June 25, 1950, a young UN was faced
with the first real test of its commitment to collective security. An emergency session
of the Security Council sans the Soviet Union passed a resolution drafted by the
American delegation, which asserted that North Korea has violated the United
Nations charter by invading South Korea and authorized the use of force. A
coalition force under American leadership and the banner of the United Nations was
mobilized. It successively repelled the assault, which had nearly destroyed the
fledgling South Korean republic and pushed back North Korean forces to their
original borders. The American dominated force continued its advance in attempt to
destroy the North Korean state (Stoessinger, 69 85). This new chapter of the war
was in violation of the UN charter. Article 2 of the United Nations charter prohibits
both it and its member states from the use of force
Oedipus Hamartia
In the play Oedipus the King by Sophocles, Oedipus exemplifies a man whose
hamartia is that he does not know himself. Hamartia is a fatal flaw leading to the
tragic downfall of a hero, and Oedipus s fatal flaw is how he does not know his real
self. In the play, the truth about many parts of his life are revealed; such as how
King Polybus and Queen Merope of Corinth are not his real parents, that he was the
one who killed King Lauis and caused the plague to the city, and that his prophecy
was unknowingly fulfilled because he killed his birth father, King Lauis, and married
his birth mother, Queen Jocasta. Oedipuss lack of knowledge about these parts of his
life gives rise to his tragic downfall as the hero of Thebes.
For instance, a messenger sent from Corinth visits Oedipus and Jocasta, from which
they learn that King Polybus has died. His death was due to sickness, not at the
hands of Oedipus, so they believe that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A similar quote made by the author of Guardian of Lost Souls, Pamela Theresa
Loertscher, says, Know thyself and all will be revealed. If one knows who they are,
all truths must be revealed. This connects to Oedipus hamartia because in order to
know who he really is, he had to reveal everything. In Oedipus the King, the truth
about who his real parents are, how he was found, and who killed King Lauis were
all revealed. The truth divulged the secret of Oedipus adoption, that his birth parents
were King Laius and Queen Jocasta, and that he was the one to kill King Lauis.
Although Oedipus was finally able to learn about who he really was, the divulgence
of these truths caused harm. A known saying states that truth hurts, which relates to
Oedipus because his lack of knowledge led to his downfall. Oedipus hamartia is that
he does not know himself, and once he learns is when he meets his
Tupac Conspiracy Theory
Tupac Shakur, also known as Tupac, was a thriving artist who had led a violent
life. Music was his therapy and he had many achievements in every part of his
rapping career. He was an inspiration to his culture and still remains important until
this day. Tupac had died in a tragic death that still remains unsolved. There are many
theories on whether or not Tupac s death was staged, such theories are based upon
holograms, music videos, and lyrics found throughout Tupac s music and writing.
Tupac was born on June 16, 1971. He became inspiration to his culture to this
concern for his community. His music was resistive to current issues and he was

As stated here, The conspiracy theory suggest that Tupac faked his own death / so
the rapper s no longer victimized and no longer dead. ( Knight 197). Tupac may
have faked his death since he wanted to escape from the fame and live his own life.
This could be also another reason why he changed his name to Makaveli. Behind
the meaning of his name, it is said that, Makaveli is also identified as a reference to
the italian political theorist Niccolo Machiavelli(1469 1527 ( Spencer Hall 4).
Niccolo was a writer and a war strategist. He had written many books and one
caught Tupac s eye. Which the description of the book happens to be to fake your
death, so you can fool your enemies. This is when Tupac decides to change his
name to Makaveli, days before his death. In addition, this book may have inspired
Tupac to do the same thing. In his song, Ghost, there s this lyric that says, the only
way for me to come back is by Makaveli . This is why the name Makaveli is
important to the conspiracy theories. Moreover, the hologram could be another
conspiracy theory as well. On April 15, 2012, Tupac returned to the stage at the
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival / to rapture reception of 75,000 spectators
(Spencer Hall 1). This technology bounced back Tupac s form of optical illusion,
which was called Pepper s Ghost. Furthermore, here s when Tupac s music video, I

Symptoms And Treatment Of Migraine
Pharmacological Treatment of Migraine
Chronic migraine is a significant disorder as approximately 2 percent of the world s
population suffers from it. In 2010 the World Health Organization ranked migraine as
the 19th leading cause of medical related disability in high income countries. (Young,
2014) Preventive treatments are often given to patients with frequent migraine, which
is considered to be more than four headache days per month. Many migraine patients
are prescribed medicines as a preventive treatment and a majority of drugs used as
migraine preventatives are actually medications developed to treat other disorders
such as certain antihypertensives, antidepressants, seizure medications, and even
Botox. (Young, 2014) My client, AB, has chronic migraine and also takes daily
medications for migraine that are often used to treat other disorders.
Patient Demographics and History
Upon interviewing, my client AB disclosed that she has chronic migraine
headaches. My client is a 38 year old single white female, classified as middle

customer service setting. She stated that she has experienced migraines since she
was an adolescent. AB is taking three different medications including: gabapentin,
300 mg via capsules am/pm four times a day, Citalopram, 40mg tablets once by
mouth each morning, and Tramadol 50 mg 1 2 pills every 4 6 hours for acute pain.

American Influence On The Great Gatsby
When you think of the roaring 1920 s, you picture music, dance, life. The art from
this time also evolved into something brighter and more imaginative. The Harlem
Renaissance had played an enormous role in creating this sense of a distinct
American identity. Its music, especially, was widely understood as one of the first
truly authentic expressions of American experience, unfettered by European
influence or tradition (The Humanities 109). It was time where people could finally
act like themselves and do whatever they want without getting criticized. Women
were starting to show some skin with less clothing, Jazz became a popular genre of
music that people could not get enough of, and poetry and paintings gave a whole
new meaning to art.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Progression of the Kouroi
Progression of the Kouroi
What is a kouros? In Greek, kouros means a young man. In art, a kouros is a statue
of a young nude male who stands with his hands at his sides and one leg, usually his
left, advanced.
Throughout the Archaic period, which dates from 610 B.C. to 480 B.C., the basic
pose of kouroi (plural for kouros) remained the same, though the anatomy of the
figures gradually became more naturalistic or true to life. The ideology that the Greek
sculptors wanted to achieve greater naturalism is proven through the progression of
the kouroi during the period.
At a glance, three main features deem the Getty Kouros under the general
classification of a kouros: hands, hair, and feet. The hands are clenched into fists.

Despite this, the Kouros was put on display on October 1986. During the early
nineties, a fake marble torso that is similar to the Getty Kouros is discovered.
Therefore, the fake torso was purchased for research and the Kouros was removed
from the display for reevaluation of the previous studies. In May of 1992, the Kouros
was displayed in Athens, Greece, at an international conference on its authenticity.
Although the majority of art historians and archeologists condemn it, most of the
scientists believe the Kouros to be authentic. Up to this day, the question of the Getty
Kouros authenticity remains a mystery for the statue is still dated as Greek, 530 B.C.
or modern forgery.
The controversy of the authenticity of the Getty Kouros will be addressed shortly
after the characterization of the kouros.
Kroisos, a kouros from a cemetery at Anavysos, most resembles the Getty Kouros.
By comparing the Getty Kouros shown at different angles with Kroisos a lot of
similarities can be seen. The placement of the feet on the base in relation to the
position of the hands and the shoulders, as well as details of the head, can help to
determine whether a kouros turns to the left or right. This subtle movement in either
direction is found among all authentic kouroi. The bent (or broken) axis of the left
foot of the Getty Kouros is one of
What Does It Mean To Be Brave
Bravery can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. Some people might
think bravery is mainly stupidity, but I can promise you it s plenty more than that.
In order to achieve anything you must be brave enough to fail. Be bold, be brave
enough to be your true self. If it wasn t for brave people in this world there is no
telling where we might be right now. Everyone Is brave in their own way. While
some people think bravery means giving up and laying down or being scared to
face your fears, to me it means that it s a strive that keeps you going no matter what
life throws at you. Bravery is not giving up and laying down. There is a quote that I
like very much and it says The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from
distress,
All The Arcades Of The World
Of all the arcades in the world, she had to walk into mine. Tina, the only person
who could beat me at Pacman, back to prove it again. (Hill 3 Feb). The very short
story spoke to me about love and I felt my heart ache. Of all the hearts in the world,
she had to walk into his. He s a player and the only one that could beat him at his
own game is Tina. The man, however, uses the arcade gamePacman to hide his
feelings and frustration toward Tina. Unlike most scenarios Tina is playing with
what I m assuming is, a man s heart once again maybe for her own pleasure. I feel as
if this would be a start to a romantic novelas it starts with Of all the arcades in the
world, she had to walk into mine. (Hill 3 Feb.) If you simply replace arcade with
heart you can see the romance the author is feeling, the love struck feeling. In a way I
feel as if the first sentence reveals the gender of the author as males typically hide
their feelings and this seems to be a man in love. The author puts Tina as a person
of importance as she is the starting point of the second sentence and the sentence
reveals she has the power to beat him/her, thus the author values her. I feel as if the
two sentences suffice and allows a reader to imagine the rest of the story. Also, the
size of the work allows for some mystery as the audience doesn t truly know what
the author means, so it s left for one s own thoughts. Thus, I would consider this to
be a work of literature as any piece of writing is no matter

When a person or worker is performing heavy work in a hot environment the body is
building up heat. The body uses two cooling mechanisms to get rid of the excess heat
and to keep the internal temperature of 38 degrees Celsius. The first thing is that the
rate from the heart is increases for the blood to move and the heat from lungs, heart,
and other organs that are vital to the skin. The second is that the sweat increases to
help cool the body and blood. When the cooling mechanisms from the body work
pretty well, the core temperature form the body drops or is stabilized at a safe level.
But when too much sweat is lost through either heavy labor or performing work
under hot conditions or environment, humid conditions or environment, the body
does not have enough water left to cool itself. The outcome of this or result is called
dehydration. There are many ways to recognize heat stress disorders and treat them,
but first one must understand that they can range from minor to life threatening.
They are ranged from: heat rash, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and the most
dangerous heat stroke. In the following paragraphs the symptoms and treatment for
each will be discussed for the purpose of heightening up the awareness of one s self
and to gain knowledge.
Heat rash is the most common of them all. Some of the symptoms for heat rash are
extreme itching in areas that are persistently damp with sweat and red
The Suffering Of America Is In The Great Room
Do you believe in happy endings? If you do this is the book for you, most of the
time. This book is very exciting, nerve wracking, and sometimes a bit dramatic.
Also, if you want to know it always leaves you on a cliffhanger and you never want
to put it down. Wait, you re saying this is exciting, how?
One of the most exciting parts of the book is when the main character America gets
the letter that lets her know she became an aunt (Cass 5). America is in the Great
Room (a room where all the selected hang out or get a lesson from their instructor)
with all the other selected (Selected Girls who are brought to the palace, taught the
etiquette of a princess/queen, and then Prince Maxon chooses one to marry based on
their lessons and how much he loves them) when bricks fly through the window

Maxon was walking to America s room when he caught her and her boyfriend from

because he didn t know how long this was going on and he loved America. Once he
saw what was happening he was furious and he decided to marry Kriss (one of the
other selected) instead. Once they got to the ceremony where he would announce
who he would be marrying the rebels attacked. They immediately got Kriss to one
of the safe rooms. One of the rebels pointed their gun at America and that is when
Maxon jumped in the way of the bullet. Maxon got shot but it made him realize
how much he loved her. One of my favorite quotes from the books is when he said
Break my heart. Break it a thousand times if you like. It was only ever yours to
break anyway, that was his way of telling America he loved her and always will no
matter what (Cass 295). Later after the attack was over America went to Maxon s

Fearing the campsite was closed, our bunch later arrived, and sure enough, it was

There were dozens of signs of wildlife, from Mountain Lion scat, to bear scat, to
racoon tracks. Average size orange plates were nailed to several different trees
along the way, and we even came across a tree that had seemingly been struck by
lightning. The forest was thick with brush and downed sticks and logs. It was
similar to a forest from Washington. If you ve ever seen The Revenant, it s the same
forest they filmed the movie in.
Soon arrived the bear. With Zebbie in the front, my grandpa second, with the gun,
me behind him, and my grandma in the back, we kept trekking through the trail.
There was a fairly steep slope to my left, and a clearing to my right. As we walked, I
suddenly heard a massive clash of two logs and the crashing and snapping of
sticks. I peered up the slope to the source of the sound, with my grandma looking the
same way. My grandpa didn t hear it, as he has failing ears.
I kept searching my field of view for anything.
There s definitely something up there. It sounded big. I fretted.
Definitely. My grandma replied.
Suddenly, the voice of the bear echoed down the slope, and into our ears.
Oof! The bear bellowed deeply.
The massive, cinnamon brown Grizzly bolted across the short view in between the
brush on the hill. Trees crashed and logs banged together as it ran towards the
direction we had just come. I knew it was frightened. Even a big beast as massive as
that still gets uneasy from simple loud noises and

Being able to understand how people from different cultures and religions

the purpose of efficient negotiations and merges different cultures into more tolerant

Bookmaster Inadequate Inventory but Excellent Customer...
When Drew wanted a new book, he did what most people would do; he went to the
local Bookmaster store. On the way to the store, Drew encountered traffic problems
as well as a city bus blocking the store s parking lot. Upon arrival he had a short wait
before speaking with a customer relations associate to check the availability of the
book. The associatechecked the computer and found the store had two copies
available. The associate and Drew looked for the book and discovered the book was
out of stock. Drew was given the option of driving 15 miles across town with the
assumption that the computer inventory was correct, and the book was actually in
stock at another Bookmaster store. With much frustration, Drew was leaving when the

Unfortunately, the requested book was unavailable at that store, but the associated
offered alternatives to Drew. The alternatives included purchasing the book from
another Bookmaster store across town, transferring the book from another store, or
using an e book version. However, Drew was not satisfied with any of the
alternatives, so he chose not to purchase the book. Despite Drew s dissatisfaction the
associate put forth effort to help Drew in locating a copy of the book which showed
that the employees at Bookmaster care about their customers wants and needs.
On the other hand, Bookmaster needs to improve a few areas to reduce the
dissatisfaction felt by its consumers. The first alteration that Bookmaster should
investigate is how often the city bus blocks the driveway to the store. If the bus is
blocking the driveway numerous times throughout the day the store could be losing
customers because he/she was unable to park new the store. For example, if an
elderly or disabled customer wants to shop and is unable to park close to the
building, he/she may decide to continue on to the next book store or to make his/her
book purchases online. In order to reduce or eliminate customer frustration or
dissatisfaction, the owners of Bookmaster should contact the city bus manager.
Bookmaster could suggest moving the bus stop by a couple feet to prevent the bus
from blocking the stores entrance or to ask if the bus driver could be made aware
that he/she is blocking the
Symbolism Of Power In William Golding s Lord Of The

Power can be used for the greater good, or power can be used to advance personal
agenda As Golding s Lord of the Flies develops, power does also. When a group of
boys are stranded on an island, the boys power shifts dramatically. The boys fight for
power and savagery increases as the time on the island increases. The island was split
into groups due to Jacks fiend for power, this was the cause of all evil on the island.
Power on the island causes murder and great destruction. The conch is a symbol
for power and order, and Ralph controls the privilege of holding the power. When
Jack s character is introduced in chapter 2 he is already fighting for the power of
the conch with Ralph. The conches role was very significant in early chapters to
keep the boys on the same page but the power of the conch was quickly lost to
Jacks uprising. Jack s power takes over him and turns him into a savage creating
destruction to the whole island. They painted their faces like savages (Golding
163). Jacks way of proving himself to the rest of the island was to kill the pig. He
did this not for the food but to show his dominance. Power later leads to destruction
when Jack and his tribe kills Simon. Simon s role on the island was almost a
spiritual figure to Ralph. He was able to inform Ralph many things about the island
and how it could affect the group of boys. Jack had no remorse after the killing and
made it seem
The Theory Of The Soul s Nonexistence And Its...
What does it mean to have no self? If having a self is defined as identifying with all
of human qualities, then does one feel pain by death? Joy by birth? These questions
seem to strike at the core of Buddhist teachings. Personal continuity, moral
responsibility, karma, and rebirth are all affirmed by Buddhist teachings, yet they also
seem to be saying that no permanent, enduring self moves from one life to the next or
even from moment to moment. If the soul does not exist, then the concept of what is
there starts to break down into simpler terms emptiness, as explained by Thich Nhat
Hanh. Buddhist teachings introduce the concept of emptiness in the context of the
soul s nonexistence and its implications on moral responsibility,... Show more content

Buddha chose to avoid the question, because he knew that answering this question in
the affirmative would be conforming with those brahmans contemplatives who are
exponents of eternalism [the view that there is an eternal soul] (Ananda Sutta)... and
answering in the negative would be conforming with those brahmans contemplatives
who are exponents of annihilationism [death is the annihilation of consciousness]
(Ananda Sutta). Thanissaro s view relates to the concept of emptiness and the
implications on moral responsibility, personal continuity, rebirth, and karma through
the Four Noble Truths. The Four Noble Truths lead to the end of suffering and
attachment. The first truth is that there is suffering, second is suffering is created
by the thirst for pleasures, third is suffering can end, and fourth is the path to end
suffering (Keown 50). Thanissaro states that these truths should be recognized as
they are and nothing else and should be performed appropriately. If one completes
this task and develop(s) the path of virtue, concentration, and discernment to a state
of calm well being. (Thanissaro), one will cease asking questions about the self and
will instead ask questions about how stress and suffering plays a role in a specific
experience. These questions lead to direct answers that

animal lot and residential lagoon systems. The diffuse pollution sources were from
upstream areas of the sampling points. The concentrations of detected PHCs in this
study are summarized in Table 4. Four pharmaceutical compounds (ENRO, OTC,

The results for ALLO samples showed a positive identification of ENRO, OTC,
TYLO and a metabolite / impurity, EHTC. The frequency of detection of ENRO
was 100 % for the beef research farm and the observed concentrations were above
the LOQ ( 15.2 ng/L). The average concentrations in Вµg/L of ENRO (0.44; Figure
5), OTC (8.0), TC (18.1) and EHTC (10.8) were highest in ALLO samples collected
in March 2012. This indicated the influence of high wastewater discharge during the
period (rainy period correlated with the spring season in Missouri). OTC levels
were generally below the LOQ (15.2 Вµg/L). The highest TYLO concentration
(0.28 Вµg/L) in ALLO samples was observed in December 2012. The occurrence
of TYLO in this study (80%) was higher than the frequency (6%) of its detection in
Sugar Creek, Indiana, U.S. (Bernot et al. 2013). The concentrations of TC in ALLO
samples ranged from LOQ to 18.1 Вµg/L.
Residential Park sewage lagoon overflow
ENRO was present in 90 % of samples collected from S2 and S8 sampling stations

Lord of the Flies Essay

(Adolf Hitler). This quote said by the German dictator during WWII can be
reflected directly onto the fear Jack fed on from the littluns of the beast.Hitler, like
Jack, fed off the fear of the people below him and had a very militaristic, and angry
view towards the world. Many other political figures during WWII can be
associated with characters from William Golding s Lord of the Flies . Lord of the
Flies is a story about a plane that crashed full of boys, on an island, during WW2
and the struggle between savagery and civilization. But on a much deeper level, the
story can be interpreted as a social commentary on people during the war and the
different morals that follows. Jack can be represented by Adolf Hitler, the German
dictator. And Ralph can be represented as FDR, the American president. Not only
can we see these apply as individual people, but they can represent entire groups.
After analyzing all the characters and drawing multiple similarities, we can safely
say that Lord of the Flies is a social commentary of World War II.
This novel takes place amidst the devastating second World War, on an island
somewhere around Britain. The boys were taking part in the mass evacuation of
britain for fear of bombings from Germany called, Operation Pied Piper(https:/

believe they were shot down and the pilots were killed. During WWII we will
focus on three of the most important leaders in the world. Adolf Hitler, the German
dictator who ruled from 1933 1945. Hitler ruled over the people by using their fear
of him to his advantage. On the contrary, there was FDR, the United States
President. He ran a democratic country who made decisions by how the people
wanted. He was loved by all the people he ruled over, but he only had limited
control. Similarly, there was British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. He had no
direct authority over the great people of Britain, but he was able to relay ideas to the
Queen. And she spoke his words

Abraham Lincoln A Hero
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. You may have seen
his face before on a penny or a five dollar bill. Lincoln was a hero to most citizens
of the United States, and he still is today. President Lincoln was an abolitionist and is
most known for the abolishment of slavery.
To begin, Abraham Lincolnwas born on February 12, 1809 in Hardin County,
Kentucky. He came from a rather poor family. Growing up he had to work to
support his family so his education was limited. As he got older he taught himself
law and he ended up passing the bar exam in 1836. He then moved to Springfield,
Illinois and became a well known lawyer. This is when he got the nickname Honest
Abe .
Shortly after, Lincoln started his career in politics. He served a single term in the
US House of Representatives from 1847 1849. In 1856 Lincoln decided to join the
Republican party. Abraham Lincoln did not fully believe that African Americans
were equal to whites but he believed that everyone was created with certain
inalienable rights. He won the presidency and was inaugurated in March of 1861. In
the following month began the Americas most deadly war, the Civil War.... Show

He stated that all men were created equal. This was the end of the civil war. One of
the many reasons Lincoln is a hero was because of his perseverance and strength
throughout one of the worst wars we have ever come to face. He ended slavery
and wanted equality for African Americans. He was assassinated on April14, 1865
by John Wilkes Booth at the Ford Theater. If Lincoln never stood up for equality
then our world as we know it today may never be the same.
In conclusion, I believe that Abraham Lincoln was the best president of the United
States. To me Abraham Lincoln is a hero. He was known as Honest Abe and helped
to free those from slavery. Without him, we may not live in country where everyone is

Sports Broadcasting Career Research Paper
One of the best known and most recognized occupations within the sports
broadcasting career field is that of the game announcer or commentator. Typically,
commentators work in pairs, consisting of the play by play announcer and the color
commentator. Play by play announcers describe the play and explain what is
happening to the viewers, while the gameor event is in action. The color commentator
takes over during the times when the game is not in action, to share personal
knowledge and game experiences. Frequently this is transitioned by the play by play
announcer asking the commentator a question, in a sort of tag team effort to keep the
viewers engaged and entertained for the entire sporting event.
This is probably the definitive Sportscasting career that many people think of, and it
s one of the most lucrative jobs in the field. However, this position only makes up a
small percentage of people working in sports broadcasting. Television networks are
one of the largest employers for full time sports broadcasters. Major television

Fruit Mold Lab Report
Fruit Molds
Brenna Rivera
November 29, 2016
Anaruth Alfaro
Abstract
In this lab we looked at the mold on three different fruits in three different
environments to asses which fruit would have the most mold and in which
environment the mold would be present the most. For the experiment we used fruits
that were in season so that we could also compare organic and non organic fruit.
Because of this my group chose tomatoes, peaches and apples. We hypothesized that
peaches would rot the most out of each of the fruits and that the peaches would rot
the most in our warmest environment, the incubator. The fruits were then observed
over a period of weeks. At the end of this period of time the peaches had rotted the
most and burst and the peaches in the incubator were the first to go.
Introduction
After learning about different types of mold in lab as well as in lecture, my group and
I were interested in studying mold more. We wanted to know which fruits from our
selected few would rot the most and in which environment would they be most likely
to rot or mold in. We learned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

According to our lab on fungus we already knew what the mold would look like so we
were pretty confident that we would be able to identify it without a problem (lab 17

tomatoes, peaches, and apples that the peaches would rot the most and that they
would rot the most while in the incubator (an environment which is approximately 90
degrees Fahrenheit). About a month later and having observed our fruits in various
increments we found that the peaches and the tomatoes were pretty close together but
they peaches ultimately molded the most and molded the most within the
The Negative Effects Of Poverty
Poverty is the deficiency of necessary money, goods, or means of support. (Pauper
1125 75). When we hear our peers, friends or family speak about poverty it s
generally associated with a person s financial status. However, poverty is much more
than the financial impact. It effects not only financial stability, but has a
psychological, behavioral, and emotional impact. Most people do not know or
understand the alternating effects of poverty. Sociologists, psychologists and others
in the field have debated for many years about whether or not poverty actually has an
effecton an individual s behavior. Though a lengthy debate, studies have proven
poverty can and does have an effect on an individual s physical, social, and
developmental behaviors. (Ramathan, 2016) When children are in their early
stages of learning they are extremely receptive to their environment. The
development of a child s brain is so sensitive that being exposed to poverty in these
early years can negatively affect the structure and function of the young brain.
Children are very perceptive. Unfortunately, regardless of the effort by parents or
guardians, children are effected emotionally as well as physically by poverty.
These children have to understand, cope with and overcome the effects of
poverty. This undue stress can lead to a myriad of effects like low academic
achievement, behavioral and emotional problems like low self esteem, anxiety and
depression (apa.org). I remember growing in school I had a friend that would
travel an extra 20 minutes to get to school. I finally asked her one day why she
made the trip when there were schools that were closer to her home. She explained
that she lived in an area of town known as the projects . She went on to explain that
the schools closer to her home were in a different school district, that wasn t as
good as the school district my school was in. She explained how different the
schools were. Her explanation is a reflection of the early self awareness children in
poverty have. In my schoolmate s case, her reaction to her economic status was to
overcome, but all too often children succumb to the negative effects.
Her statement also addresses another issue children of poverty have to

The American Football Club History
Even for a club based in the Cradle of Football , Everton s history is startling. In
their 138 years of existence, they have spent only four years outside the top flight of
English football. During this time, they have won nine League titles, five FA Cups
and the 1985 Cup Winners Cup. Since 1892, the club has been playing its home
games at Goodison Park, the first major football stadium in England.
Having been founded in 1878, Everton quickly emerged as one of the top football
clubs of its era. They were among the twelve founding members of the Football
League, the first professional football competition in the world. Their first taste of
silverware came in 1891, with the club winning its first League title in a dominating

The post war period was far less kind to the club, which initially struggled to
rediscover their earlier form. Their fortunes changed with the appointment of Harry
Catterick as manager in 1961; under his authoritative presence, Everton claimed
another League title in 1963. In 1966, they came from 2 0 down to beat Sheffield
Wednesday in the FA Cupfinal. The club won their seventh League title in 1970, but
the rest of the decade was a fairly disappointing affair, mostly due to their arch rivals
Liverpool dominating the domestic competitions.
Everton s final claim to fame came in the mid 80s, with Howard Kendall taking
over managerial duties. Having won the 1984 FA Cup, the club won its first Double
the following year; after claiming a League title, they won the Cup Winners Cup by
defeating Rapid Wien 3 1 in the final. Under Kendall, the club would win their ninth
(and as of yet, final) League title in 1987, with the Heysel tragedy preventing them
from competing for European trophies.
The club was far less fortunate in the Premier League era, with the 1995 FA Cup
being their only trophy in the two decades that followed. After being regulars in the
lower half of the league table for a while, they had a mini resurgence under David
Moyes, who led the club to a fourth place league finish in 2005 and the FA Cup final

Be it on TV, in the daily newspaper or on the shopping cart one picks up at the
grocery store, exposure to these ads is inescapable. Most are these ads are harmless,
wanting only to catch the attention of potential customers and invest them in their
product. The companies make use use of pathos ( for example the Budweiser
commercials with the puppy and horse), logos (the Geico 15 minutes could save you
15% or more... ), or ethos (Jamie Fox using his iPhone 6s in Apple s latest ads) to sell
their product. Some companies, however, employ extreme tactics to stand out. They
create ads that target human s natural inclination to use sex and violence. More often

Within the advertisement they broadcast systemically reenforced and exaggerated
a large number of stereotypes about both men and women. Some may wonder,
however, how this really effects everyday life. If someone sees so many ads in a
day what is one more, one that is just a bit more sexist than the typical beer ad.
While this it is true that the average person is overstimulated by the number of ads
as it is there is still something to be said for the content of the ads. Even if a person
doesn t mentally acknowledge them the brain still notes them and stores them in
the brain. If time after time one sees women in the submissive role or treated as
objects, chances are they will start subconsciously believing it. On the other hand
if men are constantly portrayed as stupid and hormone driven then that bias will
start to seep into reality. There are also significant moral issues with this ad, if time
after time women are portrayed simply as a visual feast it changes how they will
be treated for the rest of their lives. Next time they walk down the street theres a
chance a man may catcall her, acknowledging the fact that she was in some way
appealing to him. He doesn t do this because she is smart, funny or kind he does this
simply because he was pleased by her appearance and may even think he is
complementing her. However, by doing this he reenforces what the media has
Effects Of Regime Type On The Duration Of War And War

[Title]
Introduction What is the effect of regime type on the duration of war and war s
impact on political leaders? And how do these effects range in comparison to other
variables, such as wealth, military power, or alliances? I hypothesize the following:
longer wars have a worse impact on democracies than on dictatorships and mixed
regimes, and as a result are shorter. In the first section of this paper, I define key
terms used throughout the paper and review literature and theory related to the topic
of war and regime type. In the next section, I
Background and Literature Review Using [cite] s definition of regime type, I have
identified three types of regimes in this paper: democracies, dictatorships, and
mixed regimes. Democracies are defined as regimes that do not repress its people
and include the highest proportion of the populace; dictatorships are highly
repressive and exclude most of the population; and mixed regimes use moderate
repression and exclude a significant proportion of their populace (CITE). To
understand the reasoning behind my hypothesis, I turn to the democratic and inter
democratic peace theories, in which my hypothesis is fundamentally rooted. These
theories come from the liberal school of thought in international relations and posit
that democracies do not, or are less likely, to go to war, and do not go to war with
other democracies (Elman 758). There is much scholarly

Living with anxiety support group for men.
Support groups can play an essential role in coping with stressful events in life.
Organising and maintaining an active support group does take time and effort.
Support groups can be distinguished from others teams due to the strategies of the
primary goals. This kind of group is characterised for emphasises on helping
members to share collective experiences. the purpose of our human service
organisation is to meet the needs and contribute to the wellbeing our customers.
These are the key elements to be addressed in the development our support group.
The main aim of this essay is to create a support group for men living with anxiety,
which it discusses a plan how to run an effective support group for individuals facing
stress and anxiety. The essay will critically analyse different aspects that could
influence the initial plan and stages of the group.
Purpose
Our aim is to help men who are facing anxiety due at the significant impact that in
some cases work related stress causes on the mental health of the employees.
meanwhile depression, anxiety is linked with work related stress, it is important to

prolonged or excessive job stress could be a risk factor for mental health issues and

Djoser s pyramid and The White temple (compare and contrast)
Ancient Egyptian and Ancient Uruk are two major periods in the history of art,
during which two of the most amazing structures in the world were built. This
research paper is going to compare the two amazing structures, the White temple and
Djoser s pyramid with each other and find out the similarities and differences
between them.
Djoser s pyramid was built by Imhotep who is King Djoser s vizier and master
builder. Imhotep also was the first recorded name of an artist anywhere in the world.
Djoser s pyramid was originally built as a quadratic mastaba, and then five further

In spite of the fact that the decorations are not exactly the same. For instance,
Egyptians and Mesopotamians had statuettes of lords, workers, and divine beings,
furthermore had compositions, puppets, and pictorial reliefs.
A third similarity is they both share some typical explanations behind developing
these huge structures. The first reason Egyptians made their pyramid was to celebrate
their ruler, and their second reason was to encourage association between the souls of
the dead and the divine beings. The Mesopotamians also thought about their people
associating with the divine beings. For them the symbolic meaning for building the
White temple was to make a path from earth to paradise. This path would permit
people to meet their divine beings.
A fourth and last similarity is their fertile common ground. Amid these antiquated
circumstances, fertile land was rare. Be that as it may, Djoser s pyramid and the
White temple were found fundamentally in ripe land. This implied the physical
situating was close to an extensive waterway the Nile
The Relation Between Economic Freedom And Political...
George Pippin Professor Hays HMXP 201 29 July 2015 An Ideal Society
Throughout history, we have seen many societies come and go regardless of how
powerful or stable they were at one point. Is it possible to have a society which is
ideal for all of it s members, or is society only capable of being beneficial to some
and not to everyone? I do believe an ideal society could be achieved, but our
current society would have to undertake a substantial overhaul. In today s society,
there are more opinions and beliefs about the way it should be ran than there have
ever been. An ideal society could be achieved through it s members treating their
neighbors in a more religious way, a change in the way our current economy is
operated, and by improving... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Milton Friedman s story, The Relation Between Economic Freedom and
Political Freedom, he speaks about what a free society should consist of, One
feature of a free society is surely the freedom of individuals to advocate and
propagandize openly for a radical change in the structure of the society so long as
the advocacy is restricted to persuasion and does not include force or other forms
of coercion. (Friedman 63). The American democracy system revolutionized
politics into what we know it to be today. A government of the people, by the
people, for the people, was never made imaginable before America; but like all
good things, overtime it can become corrupted. An ideal society would truly be
what the people wanted. Democracy is by far the best political system that could
be implemented, but there could be improvements. I do not believe being a
politician should be a career choice, but it should be more of a duty to your
country. We place trust in our governments to decide such things as going to war,
healthcare, and overall the decisions that affect our lives. In order to make a proper
decision on sending troops to war, I believe the decision makers should have had
military experience. It is impossible to ask someone to go risk their lives when you
have no idea the feeling or sacrifice they could possibly make. All members of the
legislative branch, and the President, should be required to have served their
country. Moreover, in an ideal society it s politicians would be held accountable
for their actions. For example, during a review at your workplace, if your
employer tells you that your satisfaction or approval rating is less than fifty percent
by your peers, what do you think would happen to you? More than likely you
would be fired, but why doesn t this same philosophy apply to the men and women
who run a society? In order to keep politicians working for the

Marvels of Today s World.
In the past places and buildings were considered to be the 7 Wonders of the World,
each one is so different but all had one thing in common how unbelievable and
amazing they were. In today s world as well as geographical marvels there are grand
engineering projects that have opened up new possibilities and changed millions of
people s lives for the better. Technology, medical treatments, The Channel Tunnel
and Robotics are but a few of many that I would consider to be the marvels of today
s world. These wonders make our lives easier, more efficient and convenient. We can
t imagine our lives today without telephones, televisions, emails, cars, planes,
computers, space rockets etc. London is a city that ... Show more content on

Hopefully they won t completely overtake the role of mankind!
Another marvel of the world is medical technology in my opinion. We now have
the technology to provide people that have missing limbs with fake ones so that
they can continue on living their lives and enjoy it. This is just incredible. Many
infectious diseases such as Chicken Pox, Malaria, Measles and Tuberculosis have
been conquered through vaccines, antibiotics, and improved living conditions.
Cancer has become a more common illness, but treatments have been developed
that effectively combat some forms of the disease .We also have the technology to
control abnormal heart rhythms with the use of a pacemaker. I think pacemakers
are absolutely fantastic, such a clever idea. Pacemakers have prolonged people
with heart conditions life span and made life easier for them to live. The way a
little camera can be inserted into the body to look at problems/diseases,
completely puts me in awe. Also heart and lung transplants are one of the marvels
of today s world. This again saves people s lives. The way that a team of doctors
and nurses are able to take out a patient s heart or lung and put in a new one so that
they can live is truly a marvel. Medical technology is just phenomenal and
unbelievable. Through technology, millions of lives have been saved and improved
dramatically. This is why I d consider it to be one of the marvels of today s world.

The Origin Of The Indian Caste System In India
The government structure in India began with the development of the Caste System.
The caste system in India is an important part of ancient Hindu tradition. The purpose
of the caste system is to divide Hindu of India into different social classes; especially,
the lowest caste was disregarded by the other classes. With the opposed thinking, Dr.
Ambedkar and Gandhiji had the revolution to fight the Indian CasteSystem about
untouched ability. Christophe S. Queen wrote a review of the article Dr. Ambedkar
and Untouchability: Fighting the Indian Caste System in order to quote the evolution
of Dr. Ambedkar. Beyond that, there is some information about Indian Caste System.
The origin of the Indian caste system is related to the age of the Vedas. According to
one long held theory about the origins of South Asia s caste system, Aryans from
central Asia invaded South Asia and introduced the caste system as a means of
controlling the local population. Also, many believe that all human originated from
Brahma the Hindu God of creation.
According to Wikipedia, the caste system in India is the paradigmatic ethnographic
example of caste. It has its origin in the early Vedic times, and then it was in
existence in the form of Varna system which divided the society into four main
classes. Four main classes were decided by birth. The head of the system was the
Brahmins who were priestly people. They were the literate group and were alone
empowered to study the Vedas and worships Gods.

Burj Khalif An Embodiment Of Islamic Architecture
Burj Khalifa is the largest megatall skyscraper in the world, standing at an astounding
828 meters (2716.5 feet). It serves as the centerpiece for downtown Dubai, one of the
seven emirates that make up its country, and was designed by Adrian Smith, then
representing Skidmore, Owings Merrill. It was under construction from January of
2004, until December of 2009, finally opening its doors on January 4th of 2010. The
building is an embodiment of Islamic architecture, incorporating both cultural and
historical elements of the region into the visage of the building. This style was
chosen very deliberately, meant to enrich the, at the time, recently developed
downtown Dubai. The building has since received widespread international attention
for various reasons. Some laud the records that the building shattered and the many
awards it has received, while others commend the manner in which it has elevated the
city of Dubai.
The Dubai government decided to build the Burj Khalifa as a way to diversify their
economic portfolio. Their economy had long been based solely on oil and they
decided that they wanted to generate more interest and international recognition for
Dubai, thus increasing tourism and overall improving the emirate s economy. The
skyscraper served its purpose and drew a lot of additional interest towards Dubai,
receiving many awards. For example, the Burj Khalifa is recognized as the tallest
existing, or ever built, free standing structure. It is also the building

Symptoms And Treatment Of Dengue Fever
Dengue fever is a viral infection that is spread by the tiger mosquito (Aedes
Aegypti). It has black and yellow strips and usually bites in the early morning or at
dawn. The virus enters and breeds in white blood cells. Symptoms typically start
appearing five to eight days after being ill. The virus has five diverse styles of
increasing severity. Infection with one category gives lifetime immunity to it and
short term immunity to the other categories. The dengue virus isn t transmittable and
can t be spread from individual to individual. Maximum individuals will only
experience mild symptoms such as an simple fever.
How do you get viral fever?
Viral fever is usually transmitted via the air by droplets from diseased folks, or by
touching plague ridden secretions.
Treatment options
Antimalarial drugs are accessible for the treatment of malaria and even seasonal viral
fever; quite the reverse, there is no drug available for the treatment of dengue. It is
treated with helpful measures such as blood transfusion and fluid restoration.
However, the prescription used in malaria fundamentally depends on where the
septicity was acquired and on the type of infecting parasite.

Essay On Green Energy.pdf

  • 1. Essay On Green Energy Writing an essay on the topic of "Green Energy" can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the subject is vast and multifaceted, encompassing a wide range of scientific, technological, environmental, and socio-economic aspects. This breadth of information can make it difficult to decide which specific aspects to focus on within the limited scope of an essay. Moreover, staying updated on the latest advancements in green energy technologies and policies is crucial for crafting a well-informed and relevant essay. This field is dynamic, with ongoing developments that may reshape the landscape of green energy. Keeping abreast of these changes while maintaining a coherent narrative in the essay requires dedicated research and critical thinking. Another challenge lies in striking the right balance between technical details and accessibility for a general audience. Green energy involves intricate scientific and engineering concepts that might be challenging for readers without a background in these fields. Hence, the writer must convey complex ideas in a way that is both informative and understandable to a diverse audience. Furthermore, addressing the socio-economic and political dimensions of green energy adds an extra layer of complexity. The essay must explore how green energy initiatives impact communities, economies, and global geopolitics. This requires a nuanced understanding of diverse perspectives and an ability to present a comprehensive analysis. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Green Energy" demands a blend of scientific knowledge, research skills, and effective communication. Navigating the intricate details while maintaining clarity for a general audience is no small feat. However, the importance of the subject and its potential impact on our planet makes the effort worthwhile. For those seeking assistance with essays on similar topics or any other academic writing needs, services like HelpWriting.net offer professional help. Tuberculosis Is An Infectious Disease World Health Organization estimated one third of the world s population is suffering with this disease at present even though there is vaccine widely available, there is still a high morbidity rate in some countries every year. Africa, Western and Southeast Asia are the most affected areas, making approximately 86 percent of tuberculosis cases in the world. This research paper will discuss, tuberculosis in New Zealand. It will discuss the biology of the bacterium, risks factors and the importance of immunisation and prevention. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Marieb, 2012). Tuberculosis is a contagious infection that begins in the lungs and spread to other organs in the body including the kidneys, brain and bones. Tuberculosis is spread by inhaling airborne droplets from an infected person. These airborne particles are spread when the infected person sneezes, coughs or laughs. Tuberculosis cannot be spread, by contact. Tuberculosis is caused by a rod shaped bacterium or bacillus called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. These droplets are discharged into the air by a person with active tuberculosis (Britannica, 2012). The spreading progress is very effective. These droplets can remain in the air for several hours in addition it only needs ten bacilli to start an infection. When the infected air is breathed in, the bacilli enter the lungs through the bronchioles and into the alveoli. The bacilli then infect the alveoli
  • 3. Implications Of Research On Research Implications of research Authenticity; this is research carried out which aims to include new knowledge and understanding, produce new data or interpret knowledge which was already used in a new form. The researcher is required and must not alter observations made, questionnaires, interviews and focus groups done. The research must be carried out with integrity. However researchers may end up changing data as they may be pressurised or they need to be a deadline. (Srmo.sagepub.com, 2015).For example, gathering feedback on hospitals in a certain area, the researcher may feel like they do not have time and need to meet a deadline to visit all hospitals, so they end up using outdated information. Another instance may be changing information, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the research lacks external validity, findings cannot be applied to contexts, apart from ones carried out in the research (Shuttleworth and Shuttleworth, 2015). For example, if a research is carried out about men only, such as more men are likely to get coronary heart disease and they only ask men for feedback or to attend focus groups and fill in questionnaires; the findings will only apply to men and not to females. However, this would not be valid data as even though women are less likely to suffer from coronary heart disease, there is also a rare chance they could get it too. Another example can be, if a researcher was presenting their findings on underage smoking but they have no evidence to back up. Such as statistics, feedback, surveys and so forth. This would make their validity of the research very weak as there is no support showing their findings or conclusion. Reliability, which is a further implication of research, and is concerned with the consistency of results. This means if another researcher researched on the same topic; using the same methods, which therefore would produce the same results. It may be less likely to happen as the research may be carried out in a different place, different time and different people, which would lead to very dissimilar results (Shuttleworth and Shuttleworth, 2015) This can be proven when, for example if a

Essay on Kabuki Theatre To what extent does stage design impact, influence, and enhance a traditional Kabuki theatre performance, more specifically, in the eighteenth century play Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura (Yoshitsune and the Thousand Cherry Trees) written by Takeda Izumo II, Namiki SenryГ» I, and Miyoshi ShГґraku? One of these is the Seri, a platform that can be raised and lowered from below the stage to make actors appear and disappear Nowadays, this is motor driven. Figure 2 was a much earlier depiction of the stage, now it is much more intricate. There are over fifteen aspects to the stage that make it unique to Kabuki theatre. Each one holds an important aspect. It is more in depth in Figure 3. Primarily, when starting from the top left and working the way down comes the mawaributal, which is known as the revolving stage. The mawaributal used to be operated only using human power and provide for simple scene changes by simply revolving the center section of the stage. Not only does it allow all of the audience to view the scene it is also much more appealing then abrupt scene changes. Then comes the Hombutai and two Daijin bashiras, the Daijin bashiras are two black pillars on both stage left and stage right and between them like the Hombutai, which is the stage prop. Stage right is the Shimote, which holds the left side of the audience and stage left is called the Kamite and there sits the right side of the audience. The Importance Of City Development 725 Ponce is part of the New City development projects, which pursues the preservation of historic structures while seeking modern use for them focusing on sustainability, technology and its community. It will be a $140 million mixed use renovation with a 60,000 square foot urban prototype Kroger below a 360,000 square feet class A loft office space. This construction has direct access to the Atlanta Beltline and is just steps away from Ponce City Market encouraging a walkable urban lifestyle. More in detail, the design involves large efficient floor plates (iron/steel) and high end finishes. The construction will involve the use of materials such as reinforced concrete and steel for the structure, the stairway, and other significant spaces. The exterior toughened glass of the building is also a key material. [Still missing information on which type of glass will be used]. The building itself will have a mezzanine floor that will divide the office lobby and the parking areas. Construction Activities Overview and Work Breakdown Structure One of the most significant characteristics of 725 Ponce is the large open air space beneath the office floors, where the new Kroger and green space will be located. In order to have a large enough open air space beneath the building, 39 large concrete columns are currently being built at the site, which is a part of the construction of the foundation, as seen with the Work Breakdown Structure in Figure 1. The first activity of this process is placing the rebar that will be located within each column, and this activity looked nearly complete during our site visit. From looking at renderings of 725 Ponce, we estimate that each column will be about 30 feet tall; during our site visit, the rebar in place looked approximately this tall, leading us to believe this construction activity is about 90% complete. The second activity in order to create the massive concrete columns is to pour the concrete in
  • 7. Sexity And Sexuality In Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market Christina Rossetti s, Goblin Market message focuses around the sexual content and vicious descriptions of men, symbolizing them as goblins. This narrative poem focuses on two girls, Lizzie and Laura, who get tempted by the goblins selling a generous variety of fruits. Many readers made a first connection to the story understanding it to be relating to sexuality and virginity. Making it hard for the readers to see what other moral or messages might be there that could potential be the main ones. With a different shift of focus, and a fresh new perspective, the hidden compassionate message of sisterhood can be found. GoblinMarket s focus is not entirely on the steamy erotic poem that is designed to challenge sexuality during the Victorian era, but rather the sexual content is a method of disproving the misconceptions regarding powerless women, and showing how powerful the bond is between the two sisters as they break the expectations of society. As this poem is written in the Victorian era, restrictions against women and how they are supposed to behave and act can be clearly seen in the details of this poem. In the beginning, the speaker provides the main factors about the girls. The speaker tells the readers that they are quite scared to look at the goblins, We must not look at goblin men/We must not buy their fruits (7). Offering readers a sense that they are taught not to make eye contact with men. At the beginning, they may seem like they are afraid to challenge the

Maintenance Of International Peace And Security The exact phrase maintenance of international peace and security is used eight times in the United Nations Charter, but now almost seventy years after the founding of the organization the international organization s competence in pursuit of this lofty goal is still subject to debate. The charter of the United Nationsgives the Security Council the sole power determine the existence of a threat to world peace and prescribe course of action needed to be taken against it. The five permanent members of the Security Council each have the power to veto any action by the council. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Collective security was a principal goal of the League of Nations and its principal failure. When Japan invaded Manchuria and Italy invaded Ethiopia, the League condemned the actions, but none of its members mobilized military force to rollback the aggressors. Unlike the League, the United Nations has united the militaries of its several of its members beneath its banner to defeat an aggressive state. However such action has only occurred twice and only when the proverbial stars aligned. When North Korea invaded South Korea on June 25, 1950, a young UN was faced with the first real test of its commitment to collective security. An emergency session of the Security Council sans the Soviet Union passed a resolution drafted by the American delegation, which asserted that North Korea has violated the United Nations charter by invading South Korea and authorized the use of force. A coalition force under American leadership and the banner of the United Nations was mobilized. It successively repelled the assault, which had nearly destroyed the fledgling South Korean republic and pushed back North Korean forces to their original borders. The American dominated force continued its advance in attempt to destroy the North Korean state (Stoessinger, 69 85). This new chapter of the war was in violation of the UN charter. Article 2 of the United Nations charter prohibits both it and its member states from the use of force
  • 9. Oedipus Hamartia In the play Oedipus the King by Sophocles, Oedipus exemplifies a man whose hamartia is that he does not know himself. Hamartia is a fatal flaw leading to the tragic downfall of a hero, and Oedipus s fatal flaw is how he does not know his real self. In the play, the truth about many parts of his life are revealed; such as how King Polybus and Queen Merope of Corinth are not his real parents, that he was the one who killed King Lauis and caused the plague to the city, and that his prophecy was unknowingly fulfilled because he killed his birth father, King Lauis, and married his birth mother, Queen Jocasta. Oedipuss lack of knowledge about these parts of his life gives rise to his tragic downfall as the hero of Thebes. For instance, a messenger sent from Corinth visits Oedipus and Jocasta, from which they learn that King Polybus has died. A similar quote made by the author of Guardian of Lost Souls, Pamela Theresa Loertscher, says, Know thyself and all will be revealed. If one knows who they are, all truths must be revealed. In Oedipus the King, the truth about who his real parents are, how he was found, and who killed King Lauis were all revealed. The truth divulged the secret of Oedipus adoption, that his birth parents were King Laius and Queen Jocasta, and that he was the one to kill King Lauis. Although Oedipus was finally able to learn about who he really was, the divulgence of these truths caused harm. A known saying states that truth hurts, which relates to Oedipus because his lack of knowledge led to his downfall. Oedipus hamartia is that he does not know himself, and once he learns is when he meets his

The Harlem Renaissance had played an enormous role in creating this sense of a distinct American identity. Its music, especially, was widely understood as one of the first truly authentic expressions of American experience, unfettered by European influence or tradition (The Humanities 109). Throughout the Archaic period, which dates from 610 B.C. to 480 B.C., the basic pose of kouroi (plural for kouros) remained the same, though the anatomy of the figures gradually became more naturalistic or true to life. The ideology that the Greek sculptors wanted to achieve greater naturalism is proven through the progression of the kouroi during the period. At a glance, three main features deem the Getty Kouros under the general classification of a kouros: hands, hair, and feet. The hands are clenched into fists. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite this, the Kouros was put on display on October 1986. During the early nineties, a fake marble torso that is similar to the Getty Kouros is discovered. Therefore, the fake torso was purchased for research and the Kouros was removed from the display for reevaluation of the previous studies. In May of 1992, the Kouros was displayed in Athens, Greece, at an international conference on its authenticity. Although the majority of art historians and archeologists condemn it, most of the scientists believe the Kouros to be authentic. Up to this day, the question of the Getty Kouros authenticity remains a mystery for the statue is still dated as Greek, 530 B.C. or modern forgery. The controversy of the authenticity of the Getty Kouros will be addressed shortly after the characterization of the kouros. Kroisos, a kouros from a cemetery at Anavysos, most resembles the Getty Kouros. By comparing the Getty Kouros shown at different angles with Kroisos a lot of similarities can be seen. The placement of the feet on the base in relation to the position of the hands and the shoulders, as well as details of the head, can help to determine whether a kouros turns to the left or right. This subtle movement in either direction is found among all authentic kouroi. The bent (or broken) axis of the left foot of the Getty Kouros is one of

Some people might think bravery is mainly stupidity, but I can promise you it s plenty more than that. In order to achieve anything you must be brave enough to fail. Be bold, be brave enough to be your true self. If it wasn t for brave people in this world there is no telling where we might be right now. Everyone Is brave in their own way. While some people think bravery means giving up and laying down or being scared to face your fears, to me it means that it s a strive that keeps you going no matter what life throws at you. Bravery is not giving up and laying down. There is a quote that I like very much and it says The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress,

The very short story spoke to me about love and I felt my heart ache. Of all the hearts in the world, she had to walk into his. He s a player and the only one that could beat him at his own game is Tina. The man, however, uses the arcade gamePacman to hide his feelings and frustration toward Tina. Unlike most scenarios Tina is playing with what I m assuming is, a man s heart once again maybe for her own pleasure. I feel as if this would be a start to a romantic novelas it starts with Of all the arcades in the world, she had to walk into mine. (Hill 3 Feb.) If you simply replace arcade with heart you can see the romance the author is feeling, the love struck feeling. In a way I feel as if the first sentence reveals the gender of the author as males typically hide their feelings and this seems to be a man in love. The author puts Tina as a person of importance as she is the starting point of the second sentence and the sentence reveals she has the power to beat him/her, thus the author values her. I feel as if the two sentences suffice and allows a reader to imagine the rest of the story. Also, the size of the work allows for some mystery as the audience doesn t truly know what the author means, so it s left for one s own thoughts. Thus, I would consider this to be a work of literature as any piece of writing is no matter

Symbolism Of Power In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies Trace Draper Ms. Tantlinger Honors English 10 2 January 2018 Power can be used for the greater good, or power can be used to advance personal agenda As Golding s Lord of the Flies develops, power does also. When a group of boys are stranded on an island, the boys power shifts dramatically. The boys fight for power and savagery increases as the time on the island increases. The island was split into groups due to Jacks fiend for power, this was the cause of all evil on the island. Power on the island causes murder and great destruction. The conch is a symbol for power and order, and Ralph controls the privilege of holding the power. When Jack s character is introduced in chapter 2 he is already fighting for the power of the conch with Ralph. The conches role was very significant in early chapters to keep the boys on the same page but the power of the conch was quickly lost to Jacks uprising. Jack s power takes over him and turns him into a savage creating destruction to the whole island. They painted their faces like savages (Golding 163). Jacks way of proving himself to the rest of the island was to kill the pig. He did this not for the food but to show his dominance. Power later leads to destruction when Jack and his tribe kills Simon. Simon s role on the island was almost a spiritual figure to Ralph. He was able to inform Ralph many things about the island and how it could affect the group of boys. Jack had no remorse after the killing and made it seem

Personal continuity, moral responsibility, karma, and rebirth are all affirmed by Buddhist teachings, yet they also seem to be saying that no permanent, enduring self moves from one life to the next or even from moment to moment. If the soul does not exist, then the concept of what is there starts to break down into simpler terms emptiness, as explained by Thich Nhat Hanh. Thanissaro s view relates to the concept of emptiness and the implications on moral responsibility, personal continuity, rebirth, and karma through the Four Noble Truths. The Four Noble Truths lead to the end of suffering and attachment. The first truth is that there is suffering, second is suffering is created by the thirst for pleasures, third is suffering can end, and fourth is the path to end suffering (Keown 50). If one completes this task and develop(s) the path of virtue, concentration, and discernment to a state of calm well being. This quote said by the German dictator during WWII can be reflected directly onto the fear Jack fed on from the littluns of the beast.Hitler, like Jack, fed off the fear of the people below him and had a very militaristic, and angry view towards the world. Many other political figures during WWII can be associated with characters from William Golding s Lord of the Flies . Lord of the Flies is a story about a plane that crashed full of boys, on an island, during WW2 and the struggle between savagery and civilization. But on a much deeper level, the story can be interpreted as a social commentary on people during the war and the different morals that follows. Jack can be represented by Adolf Hitler, the German dictator. And Ralph can be represented as FDR, the American president. Not only can we see these apply as individual people, but they can represent entire groups. After analyzing all the characters and drawing multiple similarities, we can safely say that Lord of the Flies is a social commentary of World War II. This novel takes place amidst the devastating second World War, on an island somewhere around Britain. The boys were taking part in the mass evacuation of britain for fear of bombings from Germany called, Operation Pied Piper(https:/ /www.defensemedianetwork.com/stories/operation pied piper the evacuation of english children during world war ii/), but while they were in the air, we are left to believe they were shot down and the pilots were killed. Fruit Mold Lab Report Fruit Molds Brenna Rivera November 29, 2016 Anaruth Alfaro Abstract In this lab we looked at the mold on three different fruits in three different environments to asses which fruit would have the most mold and in which environment the mold would be present the most. For the experiment we used fruits that were in season so that we could also compare organic and non organic fruit. Because of this my group chose tomatoes, peaches and apples. We hypothesized that peaches would rot the most out of each of the fruits and that the peaches would rot the most in our warmest environment, the incubator. • 33. The Negative Effects Of Poverty Poverty is the deficiency of necessary money, goods, or means of support. (Pauper 1125 75). When we hear our peers, friends or family speak about poverty it s generally associated with a person s financial status. However, poverty is much more than the financial impact. It effects not only financial stability, but has a psychological, behavioral, and emotional impact. Most people do not know or understand the alternating effects of poverty. Sociologists, psychologists and others in the field have debated for many years about whether or not poverty actually has an effecton an individual s behavior. Though a lengthy debate, studies have proven poverty can and does have an effect on an individual s physical, social, and developmental behaviors. (Ramathan, 2016) When children are in their early stages of learning they are extremely receptive to their environment. The development of a child s brain is so sensitive that being exposed to poverty in these early years can negatively affect the structure and function of the young brain. Children are very perceptive. Unfortunately, regardless of the effort by parents or guardians, children are effected emotionally as well as physically by poverty. These children have to understand, cope with and overcome the effects of poverty. This undue stress can lead to a myriad of effects like low academic achievement, behavioral and emotional problems like low self esteem, anxiety and depression (apa.org). I remember growing in school I had a friend that would travel an extra 20 minutes to get to school. I finally asked her one day why she made the trip when there were schools that were closer to her home. She explained that she lived in an area of town known as the projects . She went on to explain that the schools closer to her home were in a different school district, that wasn t as good as the school district my school was in. She explained how different the schools were. Her explanation is a reflection of the early self awareness children in poverty have. In my schoolmate s case, her reaction to her economic status was to overcome, but all too often children succumb to the negative effects. Her statement also addresses another issue children of poverty have to

The post war period was far less kind to the club, which initially struggled to rediscover their earlier form. Their fortunes changed with the appointment of Harry Catterick as manager in 1961; under his authoritative presence, Everton claimed another League title in 1963. In 1966, they came from 2 0 down to beat Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cupfinal. The club won their seventh League title in 1970, but the rest of the decade was a fairly disappointing affair, mostly due to their arch rivals Liverpool dominating the domestic competitions. Everton s final claim to fame came in the mid 80s, with Howard Kendall taking over managerial duties. Having won the 1984 FA Cup, the club won its first Double the following year; after claiming a League title, they won the Cup Winners Cup by defeating Rapid Wien 3 1 in the final. Under Kendall, the club would win their ninth (and as of yet, final) League title in 1987, with the Heysel tragedy preventing them from competing for European trophies. The club was far less fortunate in the Premier League era, with the 1995 FA Cup being their only trophy in the two decades that followed. After being regulars in the lower half of the league table for a while, they had a mini resurgence under David Moyes, who led the club to a fourth place league finish in 2005 and the FA Cup final in

Be it on TV, in the daily newspaper or on the shopping cart one picks up at the grocery store, exposure to these ads is inescapable. Most are these ads are harmless, wanting only to catch the attention of potential customers and invest them in their product. The companies make use use of pathos ( for example the Budweiser commercials with the puppy and horse), logos (the Geico 15 minutes could save you 15% or more... ), or ethos (Jamie Fox using his iPhone 6s in Apple s latest ads) to sell their product. Within the advertisement they broadcast systemically reenforced and exaggerated a large number of stereotypes about both men and women. Some may wonder, however, how this really effects everyday life. If someone sees so many ads in a day what is one more, one that is just a bit more sexist than the typical beer ad. While this it is true that the average person is overstimulated by the number of ads as it is there is still something to be said for the content of the ads. Even if a person doesn t mentally acknowledge them the brain still notes them and stores them in the brain. If time after time one sees women in the submissive role or treated as objects, chances are they will start subconsciously believing it. On the other hand if men are constantly portrayed as stupid and hormone driven then that bias will start to seep into reality. There are also significant moral issues with this ad, if time after time women are portrayed simply as a visual feast it changes how they will be treated for the rest of their lives. Amy Ly International Policy Seminar Professor Danielson 10 March 2016 [Title] Introduction What is the effect of regime type on the duration of war and war s impact on political leaders? And how do these effects range in comparison to other variables, such as wealth, military power, or alliances? I hypothesize the following: longer wars have a worse impact on democracies than on dictatorships and mixed regimes, and as a result are shorter. In the first section of this paper, I define key terms used throughout the paper and review literature and theory related to the topic of war and regime type. In the next section, I Background and Literature Review Using [cite] s definition of regime type, I have identified three types of regimes in this paper: democracies, dictatorships, and mixed regimes. Democracies are defined as regimes that do not repress its people and include the highest proportion of the populace; dictatorships are highly repressive and exclude most of the population; and mixed regimes use moderate repression and exclude a significant proportion of their populace (CITE). To understand the reasoning behind my hypothesis, I turn to the democratic and inter democratic peace theories, in which my hypothesis is fundamentally rooted. These theories come from the liberal school of thought in international relations and posit that democracies do not, or are less likely, to go to war, and do not go to war with other democracies (Elman 758). Djoser s pyramid was built by Imhotep who is King Djoser s vizier and master builder. Imhotep also was the first recorded name of an artist anywhere in the world. The first reason Egyptians made their pyramid was to celebrate their ruler, and their second reason was to encourage association between the souls of the dead and the divine beings. The Mesopotamians also thought about their people associating with the divine beings. For them the symbolic meaning for building the White temple was to make a path from earth to paradise. This path would permit people to meet their divine beings. A fourth and last similarity is their fertile common ground. Amid these antiquated circumstances, fertile land was rare. Is it possible to have a society which is ideal for all of it s members, or is society only capable of being beneficial to some and not to everyone? I do believe an ideal society could be achieved, but our current society would have to undertake a substantial overhaul. In Milton Friedman s story, The Relation Between Economic Freedom and Political Freedom, he speaks about what a free society should consist of, One feature of a free society is surely the freedom of individuals to advocate and propagandize openly for a radical change in the structure of the society so long as the advocacy is restricted to persuasion and does not include force or other forms of coercion. (Friedman 63). The American democracy system revolutionized politics into what we know it to be today. A government of the people, by the people, for the people, was never made imaginable before America; but like all good things, overtime it can become corrupted. An ideal society would truly be what the people wanted. Democracy is by far the best political system that could be implemented, but there could be improvements. I do not believe being a politician should be a career choice, but it should be more of a duty to your country. We place trust in our governments to decide such things as going to war, healthcare, and overall the decisions that affect our lives. In order to make a proper decision on sending troops to war, I believe the decision makers should have had military experience. It is impossible to ask someone to go risk their lives when you have no idea the feeling or sacrifice they could possibly make. All members of the legislative branch, and the President, should be required to have served their country. Moreover, in an ideal society it s politicians would be held accountable for their actions. For example, during a review at your workplace, if your employer tells you that your satisfaction or approval rating is less than fifty percent by your peers, what do you think would happen to you? More than likely you would be fired, but why doesn t this same philosophy apply to the men and women who run a society? In order to keep politicians working for the
