1950s Home Appliances
Home Appliances
1950s was a decade of great technological development.
1950s home appliances raised standards of living and released housewives from the strain of
household chores.
The most representative item would have been the washing machine. This was a massive time
saver and allowed women to keep up to date with the cleaning, to keep a comfortable home and do
all the cooking as well as having some leisure time.
They were very populous in America but it wasn t until the 1950s that it was introduced in
Australia, Almost every home appliance was invented in earlier years overseas and introduced to
Australia later.

Organized Crime In America
Organized crime in America comes in many structures, yet it was the Mafia that developed with
the most elevated profile and aided in various demonstrations of Congress to enable law authorities
to deal with the threat. In the meantime, a significant part of the early history of organized crime is
generally indistinguishable from political corruption. In the first half of the twentieth century, the
law had regularly been known to choose not to see to illegal activity in light of personal
involvement, the risk of striking back, or political weight. In spite of the fact that organized crime
long originates before Prohibition, it was the illegal production and distribution of alcohol that
made endless offenders extremely wealthy and started the

Summary Of The Love Of God And Affliction By Simone Weil
The political activist and mystic Simone Weil saw mysticism as deeply engaged in the real world
and not in the private domain. Despite having great insight into Christian mysticism Simone Weil
was never baptized. After her death, her various letters and essays were comprised and formed the
book which is entitled Waiting for God. In the essay The Love of God and Affliction, Weil believes
people can find God in the affliction which she defines as a physical suffering and an uprooting
of life that results in social degradation of the fear of it in some form or another . (67 68)
Generally speaking, affliction is a type of severe suffering that a person can experience that is so
extreme that people tend to socially exclude them due to their... Show more content on

One may scoff at the idea, but in the end, the experiences of being in the real world will reveal
God. According to Weil, Affliction makes God appear to be absent for a time, more absent than
a dead man, more absent than light in the utter darkness of a cell. ... Then, one day, God will
come to show himself to the soul and to reveal the beauty of the world to it... (70) It is difficult
for the person experiencing affliction and the person submitting themselves to be around
affliction to see God in their life. Affliction is not just any kind of suffering; it is one of the
greatest and most horrid sufferings that a person could possibly experience. Thus, it is easy to
lose sight of God being around affliction since there seems to be no light in the world. However,
with time, surrounding yourself with people going through affliction, God will reveal yourself to
you and you will understand and see the true beauty of the world. This is an interesting notion
since it saying through the most horrid suffering, you will realize the true beauty of life. This is
how Simone Weil found mystical experiences as being deeply engaged in the world and how she

The Renaissance, which lasted from the fourteenth through mid seventeenth century, was a
movement aimed towards reviving classical culture and an appreciation for ancient ways. Florence,
Italy was considered the birthplace and the heart of the Renaissance. It was an industry town that

were developed ( The ). It s impact on Western art lasted 600 years (Edgerton). Filippo

He often designed ways to solve complicated mechanical problems (Hyman) and had a talent for
it (King 12). Some of his most impressive solutions were mechanical inventions for construction
that surpassed the technological advances of that time period (Hyman). Refined through his
obsession with the geometric principles behind symmetry, proportion, and perspective (Hyman),
Brunelleschi perfected his architectural skills in 1420 ( The ) and was known for his use of
classical architectural elements. He studied ancient ruins, taking notes in secret code (King 24),
most likely about the three architectural orders: Dorian, Ionic, and Corinthian (King 26). There
were defining features (Hyman) in his complicated and detailed works, and he most often used
Corinthian order because it was most decorative. The decorations were neat, elegant, and clean

grey sandstone, was used for all classical parts of his buildings. Later works demonstrated unified

How Did Cicero Influence The Economy
Born in 106 BC, Marcus Cicero was arguably a great Roman orator, lawyer, statesman, and
philosopher who had an extensive impact on the Political development at that time. However, he
supported different groups and individuals at different time, which limited his influence due to the
apparent changes in political allegiances to pursue what he felt was best for the republic. The
significance within Cicero career initially lies within his early career through the several legal cases
he undertook in his attempt to restore the republic to its encrypted and truest form leading him to
move along the Cursus Honorum. Additionally, his role in the legal case against Verres gained him
favourable reputation among the people, allowing him to strengthen... Show more content on

first speech in the Verress case was the Divinato in Q Caecilium, which he spent 3 months
collecting the evidence resulting in Verress to flee due to the mass of evidence that was
obtained. His success lies within his Verrine Oration as it established Cicero as Rome s foremost
orator amongst the Roman courts. However, as suggested by Widemann, Cicero had some
personal motives, as he would be curule aedile he used this advantage to gain the support of the
Sicilian people, which gave him credibility to go forward and become consul. In winning the
case, Cicero was seen to play a high profile role in disclosing the corruption and mismanagement
that was rusting from the senatorial appointments to the provinces (Scullard, 1999). As a result,
Cicero was able to use the influence of his successful legal career to gain support to stand for the
consulship of 63 BC and played a very significant role in combating the individuals he saw as a

The X chromosome is a sex chromosome which is normally seen in women as (XX) and in men
(XY). The FMR1 is a mental retardation gene. Its main function is to give a set of guidelines for
the body in making protein. When this gene is lengthened the process of making the protein is
stopped and involves brain development and other functions. Fragile X Syndrome can be passed
down through generations. A daughter born to a father who has FXS will be affected but the son
will not be effected as they do not inherit the fathers X chromosome. If the mother has FXS both
genders have 50% of inheriting this syndrome.
Management of Fragile X Syndrome can start with an individual assessment and designing
medication specifically made to help manage the effects of the syndrome. This medication can
manage behavioural and emotional issues commonly seen in FXS like anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and
mood instability. Management also includes for family members and people dealing with people

Pollution and environmental problems of mankind
In recent years, we often hear and use the word ecology , but one can hardly assume that everyone
understands him correctly. About even the experts argue what meaning people should invest in this
concept. In the meantime, they argue, laymen have realized such ecological minimum: it means to
breathe clean air, drink clean water, eat food without nitrates and glow in the dark. The term
ecology (from the Greek oikos a house, dwelling place, and logos science) was provided in 1866
by the German zoologist Ernst Haeckel, who introduced it into use to refer to general science about
the organisms and their environment.
But now the concept of ecology has already gone far beyond the scope of what to put in it and
Ernst Haeckel as specified in the reference books and encyclopedias. Now it is an independent
science about the environment (in terms of its interactions with living organisms and, above all
people). It nourishes not only and not so much biology, but almost all of Earth science meteorology,
hydrology, oceanography, climatology, geography, geology with the necessary for their physical
and mathematical and chemical methods, as well as sociology, psychology and economics. Such an
extension of detention of Ecology and offset of accents demanded rapid quantitative growth of
humanity, which began to realize the dangers that threaten the entire planet (nuclear disaster,

Conflict Between Palestine And Israel
Demolitions, since 1967, Israel has demolished more than 26,000 Palestinian owned structures in
the occupied Palestinian territory. Additionally, between 1967 and 2011 over 14,000 Palestinians
had their residency rights in Jerusalem revoked and have thus permanently lost their right to live in
or even visit the city of their birth. The disruption of life as normal has a drastic influence the
cultural underpinnings of the nation. Very different from their former life, Israelnow has legal
control over their holdings and they live constantly wary of further negative influence ...in
addition to the official 300 meter restricted access area, Israeli forces conduct regular raids one
and two kilometers into Gaza and constantly monitor all areas up to two kilometers into Gaza. The
land included in the restricted access area accounts for 17 percent of the total Gaza land area and
includes 35 percent of Gaza s agricultural land. These problems do not simply breed bad feelings
between the nations now but the constant state of tension between Palestineand Israel creates a long
lasting state of aggression in the future generations which facilitate more violence and chaos than
before. Research conducted by Save the Children UK in 2009 found that up to 70 percent of all
households living near the restricted access area had been displaced at least once since 2000 .

Nonformity Is A Form Of Conformity
Throughout history, many have tried to break away from society s norms in an attempt to live life
more fully. Examples include religious, government, and cultural revolutions where people group
themselves based on their beliefs in order to create wide scale change. But I question just how
many people in these groups Вreally believe in their movements. By no means am I negating the
sincerity of the thousands who participated in the peace movement of the 1960s or the punk
movement of the late 1970s in fact, I have come to embrace many of the ethos and philosophies
of these cultural movements. However, I am saddened by the number of young people I see who
seem to believe that they are punk because of the kind of shoes or brand of clothing they wear. I
see it every day here at Alpena high school when I walk in the door in the morning. The types of
clothing that people wear and the styles that they want to have put them in what social group they
belong to . As you can see conformityhas been around for a long time, since humans have called
Earth their home actually but is non conformity a form of conformity? Read on to find out that yes,
non conformity is a form of conformity.
Today it seems as if the original philosophies of these groups have been forgotten. Their
historical records were dirtied over time by the stereotypes of non participant generations and the
bias of the media. Youth today seems to look at such movements through commercialized lenses,
allowing their understanding of the world to be altered by what is in, popular, or on television.
For example if you were on a road trip with your grandparents and you were in the car and you
flipped to the most recent rap station there is they would look at you differently than if you turned
the dail to the music that they grew up with. Whenever I am with my grandparents they always
question me on weather or not I actually listen to their generations music because of the steryotype
that teens listen to only fast beat music that you can barely understand. To me, the clothing and
physical or material elements specific to a certain counterculture movement should emphasize its
beliefs rather than replace them. Can we really be free if we are worried about

Integrating Technology Within The Classroom
Literature Review
In the last few decades, there has been a push for integrating technology within the classroom.
Technologies has become commonly associated with the activities of everyday life, as a result,
there has been increased pressure to include technology in classrooms, kindergarten through twelfth
grade since the 1980s. (page #?Grant et al., 2015). This technology push has only increased since
the last century; educators are no longer responsible for teaching the traditional reading, writing,
and arithmetic pedagogy of the past. In respect, students are no longer viewed in the same blank
slates, but as collaborators in their learning. This collaboration is effective in preparing students for
the job market of the future, in which these technologies will be ever present and constantly
changing.
In the 21st century, teachers and students have access to a constantly evolving series of
technologies which has facilitated a continued interest in how to use these types of technology in
educational environments. Through the incorporation of educational technology models and
theories, the practitioner s focus is specifically on how technology can be used to improve student
performance through processes, procedures, and tools. Processes and procedures may comprise any
task or intervention involving anything from a simple instructional strategy to a complex
instructional system.
(Wade et al., 2013).
However, successful integration of technology will only occur when

African Americans In The Crusades
Jerusalem is of significant value to all Christians since it is the city where Jesus Christ lived and
died. Therefore, it is no surprise that Christians would want to protect this city from Muslim
invaders, just as Muslims had conquered North Africa, Palestine, Mesopotamia, the Persian Empire,
and territories in southern Asia and the Indian subcontinent for their jihad. The word jihad can be
translated as struggle or holy war. Further, Christians often had to work side by side with Muslims
in the territories they captured, specifically when the crusaders formed an alliance with Egyptians
against invading Seljuk Turks because the captured territories often lacked settlers and defenders.
This would mean that crusaders were far more likely to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An account by a Muslim diplomat, politician, and historian, Usamah Ibn Munqidh, gives an
interesting depiction of medical treatment in the West before the Crusades. In his account, he
describes how his uncle was asked to send a doctor to look at some urgent cases by the governor
of Al Mounaitira. The uncle sent a Christian doctor named Thabit that was able to successfully
treat a knight with an abscess on his leg and a woman with consumptive fever. A Frankish doctor
then said the man was incapable of treating the patients and proceeded to order the leg of the
knight to be cut off, through which the knight died during the procedure, and told the woman that
the devil had taken possession of her head, shaving her hair off then later using a razor to cut her
head open in the shape of a cross, scraping away the skin so that bone was showing, and rubbing
her head with salt, from which the woman died . The credibility of this source is questionable
because it is most likely biased, but gives a good description of common medical practices by
Westerners during that time. Medical treatments hadn t truly improved for hundreds of years,
despite the contact between Muslims and Westerners in Crusader States.
An additional benefit of the Crusades was the rediscovery of Aristotle, who the Muslims read from
texts translated from Latin to Arabic.

William Randolph Hearst and the Spanish American War
How far is a person willing to go to be the best? Will he sacrifice friends, family, even the lives of
his countrymen? What makes someone that devoted to competition that they are willing to destroy
everything that they ve ever known, and quite possibly start a war in the process all to see that
they ve outsold there competition? These are the questions one must ask once you learn of the life
s story of William Randolph Hearst. From his news empire that included over 2 dozen major

Groundhog Day Comparison
The movie Groundhog Day shares many parallels with the book Flight by Sherman Alexie. Both
Phil and Zits react similarly to the whole situation going through stages of confusion, happiness,
desperation, and acceptance until finally they have learned their lesson and become better
people as a whole. There are some differences though. Zits spends the beginning of his
experience trying to come up with a logical explanation and finally turning to religion to explain
each body he inhabits as him having reached either heaven or hell. Phil never assumes God plays
a role in this although at one point he tells Rita that I am God. (imdb.com) Instead he quickly
decides to use the situation to his advantage since nothing he does has any consequences and he
can learn various things to impress girls or save lives. The biggest difference is that Phil has
control over what he does and Zits usually doesn t. It switches each time for Zits how present he is
mentally and physically. Only once was he able to make the decision to control what happens....

Argumentative Essay Outline Thesis: President Obama is trying to convince the United States
that was a whole we set each other apart as a nation. He tries to point out different issues in
American and explains new ideas to make the United States better as a strong government. A.
Supporting Argument: President Obama addresses the tragedy in Tucson by saying because of
this tragedy it made the country focus less on the public debate and reminded us how important
we as a whole are and not so much on our personal views and preference. 1. Evidence: But there s
a reason the tragedy in Tucson gave us pause. Amid all the noise and passion and rancor of our

C. Supporting Argument: Obama states that Race to the Top was the best improvement for
public schools in a generation. He also said that this idea was created by the Republicans and
Democratic and if they continue this approach, Race to the Top can replace No Child Left
Behind law that former President Bush created. 1. Evidence: Race to the Top is the most
meaningful reform of our public schools in a generation. For less than 1 percent of what we
spend on education each year, it has led over 40 states to raise their standards for teaching and
learning. And those standards were developed, by the way, not by Washington, but by the
Republican and Democratic governors throughout the country. And Race to the Top should be
the approach we follow this year as we replace No Child Left Behind with a law that s more
flexible and focused on what s best for our kids. (Applause.) 2. Claim: Obama states that Race to
the Top was not just created by the Democratic governors but also by the Republicans. He is
trying to convey the republicans to agree his new approach to reform public schools and replace
No Child Left Behind that former President Bush made. He is trying to convince President Bush
former supporters to agree with his idea and gain their support. 3. Connection: Obama uses errors
of omission because by him stating that he wants to replace No Child Left

Would You Want To Go To A Doctor Who Got Their High School
Would you want to go to a Doctor who got their high school degree from their mom? Yeah, most
people do not either. Homeschooling has become a big trend in student s education. Lots of
children have different reasons of why they are homeschooled some are not acceptable reasons ,
but they somehow get approved by the board.Kathleen Berchelmann states As estimated 2.04

Greatschool says some parents create and teach their own curriculum, while others buy a

Solar Renewable Energy System
In brewing industry, 80% of overall final energy consumption is used in the form of thermal energy
where solar thermal can be used for brewing processes as below: steam generation, malting process,
stopping germination of grains, air cooling, conservation with hot air, power supplying of washing
machines, wither and kiln processes. Malting plants and breweries consume heatfor their thermally
driven processes at temperature level ranges between 25В°C to 120В°C. It seems feasible to supply
heat at this temperature level which is not higher than the actual amount required but in reality the
it is often decided by the consumer which needs the highest temperature. The integration of solar
renewable energysystem is necessary to reduce the exergy losses and CO2 emissions [17,21,24,25].
To utilize the organic matter from brewing residues, optimized heat recovery can supply its thermal
energy demand over resources. Theoretically, the full energy potential is not utilized so the
pathway is the conventional means of energy. However, the conversion of heat from energy gained
from renewable energy resources can ensure environment friendly beer production process for
future. To increase the overall energy efficiency, the integration of solar heat energy gained from
solar thermal collector technologies can be considered as a prospective alternative to fulfill the
demands of typical low temperature process heat.

The Philosophical View Of Anthropocentrism Essay
Introduction
1788. The year that Indigenous Australians would mark in shame and the rest of Australia would
celebrate. From the perspective of 2016, the events which took place in 1788 were barbaric,
destructive and horrific to say the least. Indigenous Australians were shot, enslaved and stolen by
the early settlers, all because they were seen as inferior, less civilized and were thus, merely
savages for the benefit of a superior kind. The first part of this essay will therefore discuss how the
philosophical view of anthropocentrism was embedded into the early European culture, and how it
justified their actions. Further, it will be shown how a legal pluralism was used to manipulate the
Indigenous Australians, and how it seemingly justified their actions. These philosophical views will
aid in the understanding of why the Indigenous were treated in so harshly, and why they deserve
recognition for their injustices. Further, this discussion will aid in understanding of why the
relationship between the Indigenous and the state has developed in such an undesirable manor.
The second part of this essay will discuss proposed mechanisms which will try and provide
solutions, such as recognition, to the historical wrongs associated with colonisation. These
mechanisms include the proposal of an amendment made to the Constitution, whereby Indigenous
Australians will be granted constitutional recognition. Further, a proposed mechanism is the
creation of a treaty between the Indigenous

The Character of Iago in Shakespeare s Othello Essay
The Character of Iago
The old clichГ© One bad apple ruins the bunch is what enters one s mind when discussing the
villainous, deceitful, protagonist Iago in Shakespeare s tragedy Othello. It is amazing how one
person alone can completely destroy, or deteriorate a group of good natured, trusting, loyal
peoples lives in a matter of days three to be exact. What is the motive behind Iago s heinous,
selfish acts, one may ask? A rather obvious theme in the Shakespeares tragedy, Othello , is that of
the many facets of jealousy, which instigate the evil doings of protagonist, Iago. Jealousy can be
best defined, in the thinking of Renaissance, as a derivative or compounded passion. It is a species
of envy, which is in turn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Iago s motive behind his evil plot against Othello all starts when Othello chooses Cassio as his
Lieutenant, which leaves Iago feeling as if someone stole his glory. Even further, Iago s
jealousy is deepened by Othello s accomplishments and role he holds within his state. We are told
that he [Othello] is of noble birth, that war and adventures have been his nurses, that he may be
considered a [Moorish] barbarian and yet that the Venetian state has found him so valuable in
action, that he cannot be expelled no matter what offense may be found in him (Jorgensen 25).
This alone makes Iago surpass any sort of admiration of Othello, for it only feeds his jealousy
and envy. Iago is infuriated and retaliates by making Othello question the degree of his wife s
faithfulness. At last Othello is moved. Iago sees that is poisonous words are beginning to have an
effect and knows better than to enlarge up the ideas that are already planted in Othello s mind his
own imagination will accomplish more...(Charney 213). The deceit has set in.
Cassio and Iago s relationship, much like all of Iago s relationships, is based on an evil web of
even more lies and jealous acts. Cassio is a true gentleman, and his way of life is a contrast and an
irritation to Iago (Leone 73). Iago proclaims, He hath a daily beauty in his life that makes me ugly.

Spirituality And Religiosity
While consensus among researchers on the definition of spirituality and religiosity is lacking, what
it means to be spiritual or religious and what constitutes a spiritual person in the literature is still
very highly researched (Stranahan, 2008). Many definitions of religiosity and spirituality include
religious service attendance, some sort of meaning and purpose in life, personal strength to cope
with difficulties, and believing in a higher being (Stranahan, 2008). Older adults tend to have
stronger faith and greater spirituality than younger populations (Moberg, 2005). This difference in
spirituality between younger populations and older adults is possibly tied to the deepening of
spiritual interests and concern during the later years (Moberg, 2005, p. 15). Older adults tend to
become more religious, or turn to religionmore as they age, instead of maintaining a high level of
religiosity throughout their lives (Moberg, 2005). Spirituality and religiosity are very important to
the aging process due to the connection observed in many studies between spiritual health and
physical and mental health and well being, with religion having protective health effects. Much
research has been conducted on the association between religion and spirituality and physical and
mental health outcomes, especially among older adults. This paper will summarize the recent
findings related to religion and spirituality and health in older adults, including a discussion on the

Honest Vino Case Summary
The report of Honest Vino s harvesters replacement frequency Summary This report will examine
why the company, Honest Vino, should replace the selected harvesters every 15 years rather than
every 10 years by Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method. Based on the Vineyard s and harvester s
details, the Annual Equivalences (AE) of both replacement frequencies were calculated and
compared under the constant chain of replacement assumption. However, the specific assumptions
must be held in this analysis. Methodology There are two options for the harvesters: replaced every
15 years or every 10 years. They are mutually exclusive investments having unequal lives with
replacement. In order to maximise the firm value, the method of AE was used since the two
projects have the same discount rate, and AE method converts the NPVs of the projects into
annualised values which can be compared under this situation. The optimal option is the one with
higher AE when evaluating... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, the calculative formula is: AE=NPV/{[1 1/(1+r)^n ]/r}. Additionally, the calculation of
NPV is based on the discounted cash flows. Compared with other DCF methods, AE considers the
time, the amount of value and the risk of the cash flows. Other DCF methods are not appropriate
for this situation. For example, the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) method does not take the size of
investment into account and does not consider for replacement in investment. Another method is
Internal Rate of Return (IRR) method, which may have multiple IRRs or no IRR, and does not
consider magnitude of value. Therefore, AE is the most intuitionistic evaluation method to value
and compare mutually exclusive investments. It indicates the investment s NPV in an annualised
presentation, which takes into account timing, magnitude and discount rate.

Perception Of Behavior And Misbehavior
When we talk about behavior in early childhood education; we have to learn or define the concept
of mistaken behavior and misbehavior. Misbehavior is the conventional term applied to conflicts
that the child is involved in, resulting in consequences that often include punishment and the
internalization of a negative label such as naughty . One example of misbehavior is when the child
do something wrong and the teacher put a label to the child like you are a bad boy and the child
felt really gilt. Although teacher who punish misbehavior believe they are shaming children into
good, the result may be the opposite. Mistaken behavioris error in judgment and action behaviors
occur at three levels: Experimentation, socially influenced, and strong unmet needs. For mistaken
behavior examples, the first one is experimentation at this age the child is really curious and they
want to see, touch even taste everything. When the child experiments something that they never
see they get really curious and if you say that they can take something they just grab it and
sometimes brake or loose. The example for the second one; Social influence is: when the
children are in the circle time and one of the child stars to laugh and jump and everybody start it
to do the same. Also, at these are the child is like a sponge sometimes they follow the behavior of
an adult or the teacher like a model. And for the last one Strong unmet needs, the child have a bad
behavior because is passing thought

How Ecology Is Being Affected by Climate Change
In the world today their has been a surge of scientific, political and economical forces hurdling to
prove and disprove the existence of global climate change. I assert that the symptoms that our
planet is suffering are the truest indications to justify worrying about our collective future on this
land; which I will present in terms of how the ecology is being effected by global climate change. In
an article reporting the findings of a study conducted in Israel by Tarryn Schuldiner Harpaz and

the area of and surrounding Israel. After collecting records of the climate gradients, annual

Effects Of Betrayal In The Renaissance
The end of the Middle Ages and the flowering of the Renaissance brought many shifts to European
societal structure. The face of Christianity changed considerably from the fourteenth century to the
mid sixteenth century, beginning with disagreement over who should hold absolute power, the
Pope or the Holy Roman Emperor. While the corporate Catholic church had once maintained a
fairly unified influence on society, a more nuanced form of Christianitybegan developing, leading
to reformed religious groups with opposing views, namely the Protestants and Anglicans. In the
wake of differing opinions, people s group identification determined what people they sided with
and who they wouldn t tolerate. With more complex religious and political perspectives, people
could distance themselves ideologically from peers, family, and leaders. Frequent mentions of
treacherous actions within the literature of this time demonstrates that these differing views made
people feel betrayed by their associates. The idea of betrayal is prominent in the lives and texts of
several authors of this period, including Dante, Thomas More, and NiccolГІ Machiavelli. From a
Christian perspective, betrayal was a grave sinbefitting serious punishment, while it was irrational
from a Humanist perspective and an inevitable, even beneficial part of mankind from an amoral
perspective. During the tumultuous political and religious climate of the High Middle Ages and
Renaissance, conflicting sociopolitical groupings and

It has been reported that 1000 kg tea leaf (dry weight) remove 40 50 kg Nitrogen (N), 4 8,5 kg
Phosphorus (P) and 16 19 kg Potassium (K). Bonheur and Wilson (1992) reported that without
fertilizer application the supply of nutrients available in the soil would become exhausted
leading to mineral deficiencies in the plants, severe reduction in yield and ultimately, the death
of the plants. Bonheur and Wilson (1992) also found that Nitrogen is very important for plant
growth and is present in the most important substances in the plant (Chlorophyll, nucleotides,
hormones, protoplasm, and vitamins etc). Besides, stem and older leaves also take 50 kg
Nitrogen, 12 kg Phosphorus and 32 kg Potassium. Weeds growing in tea field also absorb
substantial quantity of the nutrients and if not removed from the fields, result in permanent loss.
The removal of nutrients thus, has to be compensated by their external application. Besides,
response of other nutrients viz., Sulphur, Magnesium, and Zinc etc is being noticed in high
productive gardens. Rojoa et al. (1979) revealed that the highest yields in Mauritius were given in
tea by application of 375 kg nitrogen per hectare per annum. Rikhter and Lyashko (1979) found in
Russia that yields of tea were higher with 300 kg N ha 1 as compared to 450 600 kg N ha 1.

official drone dates to France in 1782 with the Montgolfier Brothers; they sent unmanned balloons

example of an unmanned vehicle. Fast forward in time to 1860, Nikola Tesla had developed a

Regulation plays a large part in the practicality of delivery drones, especially in the United States.
Current FAA regulation places several restrictions on drone deliveries. Part 107 of the current
FAA s regulations on drones causes drones to have top be: in the line of sight of the pilot, not
controlled autonomously, each pilot can only control one drone at a time and it cannot be
controlled from a moving vehicle. For these reasons alone drone deliveries are highly
impractical as not only will the individual have to live very close to the deployment center, but
also large fleets of delivery drones would be impossible due to needing an individual pilot per
drone. Additional regulations exist though beyond the FAA s, such as local and state regulations.
Current regulations simply do not promote drone deliveries ( Drone Delivery 3 Big Legal
Problems , 2018). The second large hurdle for delivery drones, infrastructure. Drones do not handle
well in cities and in forested areas due to interference. A drone would require a landing pad that
would not only prevent unwanted individuals from getting the delivery but also pets. Additionally,
drones would operate under 400 feet in the air, which currently does not have any form of air traffic

form a composite with different properties from both of its constituent. Composite material is
preferred for many reasons. It is often stronger, lighter, and less expensive when compared to
traditional materials. Engineered composite materials, for example, are: mortars, concrete, metal
composites, reinforced plastics, and ceramic composites. Nowadays, composites are widely used in
many fields, especially in industries. Industries including oil and gas industry now use composites
as their equipment s material. One of the strongest reason why composites are now widely used, is

Composites, which are mostly strong, are able to withstand the extreme condition of offshore
environment. In the offshore oil and gas industry, composites offer many advantages. The
manufacturing cost and erecting oil rigs can be significantly reduced if using composites instead
of using heavy metal. Composites are lighter but offer a comparable strength. Composite could
be used for fire water piping, sea water cooling, draining systems and sewerage, sump caissons
and pull tubes, cable support systems, etc. The cost advantages by using composite products are
really significant when it is used to replace expensive corrosion resistant metals such as copper
nickel alloys, duplex / super duplex stainless steel, titanium etc. The metals mentioned are very
expensive compared to composites. Also, composites are more lightweight. Composite is also very
resistance to salty and swampy solvent/fluids that may pass through, and therefore, it improves the
reliability and safety of the work environment, and also leads to lower life cycle

Description Of The Installation Police Received A Call...
At 13:45 EST on January 1st 20xx, the installation police received a call from Mr. X, a
supervisor at the gymnasium (also the location used for hosting redeployment ceremonies and
other functions). He reported that one of his workers Mr. Q, was in possession of a backpack
that he found unattended in the men s locker room. According to Mr. Q, he opened the bag out of
curiosity to find out if there is a name or any identification so that he can return it to the owner.
Mr. Q noticed an empty or dummy pipe bomb container inside the backpack. The supervisor
requested a patrol car and officer to be sent to the location. Officer A, was the first on the scene and
upon investigation and interview with the witness/worker determined that the package was a dud
/dummy. Officer A, was an Explosives Ordnance Soldier prior to joining the installation policeforce
and has extensive knowledge and experience with explosives. Officer A s assessment of the
situation was that, it could either be an expensive prank or a dry run for a future attack.
The installation police chief informed us of the situation, based off of Officer A s assessment,
knowledge and experience with explosives. Based on this tip from the installation police chief
together with other intelligence reports, there is a credible threat with indications of an imminent
attack, possibly involving the use of a crude pipe bomb for any type of CBRNE attack on the
installation. We do not have all the facts and although we will not

Stereotypes In The Fall Of A City
In the short story, The Fall of a City, by Alden Nowlan, Teddy is a young boy has many dreams
and hopes for his future, but his biggest goal is sharterred by his guardians. Moreover, he should
follow his dreams and that his dreams should remain valid till the day he achieves his dreams. It
is also important to pursue the personality and dreams children want to take with them into their
future life. Firstly, stereotypical behaviour of adults in particular can influence a child s future
decisions, but children should have their own dreams and goals to pursue so they get the life
they deserve. Paper dolls and doll houses. An eleven year old boy! (Alden Nowlan, 133). We see

His uncle pointed a warning finger. Don t get saucy now, mister. I know paper dolls when I see
em (133). This tells us how children change their dreams when they are discourged by others,
especially adults. Furthermore, children pursue what they have been taught and the kind of
personalities they contract with every day, which can also influence and destroy their inner
intentions and dreams. For example, if a child has strict parents and his parents force him into
being a engineer but the child wants to be a construction worker. Therefore, parents want you to
have a good and high paying job, but it is more important to have a job you like. The person will
regret making a choice they were forced to make when they were a child. Lastly, people tend to be
better at something they like, than at things they do to follow traditions of their society. Through
the square below rode squadrons of lancers, dragoons and hussar, batteries of horse artillery;
behind them marched regiments of infantry (130). Teddy is more deeply connected to his

important to pay attention to speech during this time as most delays in language are noticed

History And Traditions Of Ancient Egypt
The history and traditions of a people can be reflected in its compositions because the writing
often preserves the values, concerns, and characteristics of the era. While the canonical literature
of a civilization often reflects the most highly prized attributes of the society, more typical pieces
of writing tend to offer a unique and realistic perspective on the civilization s lifestyle. A
collection of ancient Egyptian love poems written by average citizens was uncovered in Deir el
Medina and, like all other works of literature, within the writing, there are details indicative of their
values. Because of their special nature, the poems offer an alternative viewpoint to the experiences
of commoners. The love reflected in the poetry of ordinary ancient Egyptians was affected by their
society s customs, family, and religion.
The social mores of ancient Egypt influenced love as indicated in the poetry. In I Devised to Drink
in Her Beauty, a common man is travelling to his lover but encounters Mehy, a well known and
fearsome warrior. Mehy is representative of ancient Egyptian traditions and obligations and so,
upon his encounter, the lover attempts to avoid the warrior. The power and influence that Mehy
retains, as illustrated by him being in his chariot, causes the boy to want to hide his wanton desires.
This reflects the social stigma attached to being in love in ancient Egyptian society. While in self
conflict, he considers crossing the Nile river. In ancient Egypt, the

Ambiguity In The Theory Of The Description Theory
In this essay I argue that the understanding of proper names seems to go beyond definite
descriptions. Therefore the Description Theory is not an adequate theory of proper name. I first
provide a brief explanation of the Description Theory, and its sub theory, the Name Claim,
followed by a brief overview of the main arguments for the Description Theory. I then provide a
more detailed explanation of one direct argument: That it captures the intuitive logic of claims
involving proper names. I then explain the problem of Which description? , that there is no single
determinate description (Lycan, 2000: 41) of a proper name. Finally I provide my own critique,
showing why I believe that the Description Theory leaves us with ambiguity in the description...

asserts the existence and the uniqueness of the subject and ascribes a predicate to the subject. The
Description Theory captures the intuitive logic of claims involving proper names (Lycan, 2000:

name because more than one description can be applied to one name and it does not enable us to
know which description is relevant. Therefore, there is a need to define what a relevant description
of a proper name is. This makes the Description Theory an inadequate theory of proper

Wild Horse Social Structure
Social structure: In the wild the size of a horse herd will vary, but it usually has a lead mare who
looks after the other females and foals in the herd. There are usually one or two stallions in the
herd that protect the entire herd. In captivity or on a farm a horse will still look after the other
horses that are present. They all have each other s backs when it comes to being lonely or
protecting one another. The horse is usaually a very social animal, so it is a good idea to have
more than one horse on a farm or in the same exhibit. Reproduction: A mare will be old enough to

When you first meet a horse never approach it head on, The horse sees it as a threat and won t let
you come anywhere near it. The horse can spook and run you over. To keep on the horse s good
side approach it from the side. That way, if it does spook the horse has an escape route that does
not include running over you. Also, when you approach a horse stay calm and use good body
language. This means do not come running up to the horse or use fast and jerky movements.
This will scare the horse. It can sense the negativity or fear that you feel. That makes the horse
react badly or negatively towards you. If that happens, it will take longer for the horse to trust
you. Temperament: Every animal has the normal predictable traits and behaviors of its species.
However, just like people, horses have individual personalities. They should be treated based on
how they act as individuals. This will help build a strong relationship between horse and handler.
Vision: Horses see the world in an entirely different light, literally. Horses have issues seeing
colors. Their vision can be compared to a person with red green colorblindness but only with the
variations in the gray region. This is because the horse s eyes and a person s eyes are not made
the exact same way. The internal workings of the eye are what makes the horse basically color
blind, but allows us to see the colorful world we live in. Noise: Horses have an acute sense of
hearing. Compared to horses, people are practically deaf. Horses can hear much higher and lower
frequencies than people can. This is why it is better to talk to them in a confident tone and not to
use a shrill or high pitched tone. It bothers them. This is also the reason why it is soothing to talk
to a horse in a soft, calm tone when the horse is agitated. Restraint

Protect Pollinator Populations
Why Regulations Are Needed to Protect Pollinator Populations
Currently, an estimated 3.2 million tons of pesticides are used each year (Hicks, 2012).
Pesticides are normally misused by people with little knowledge or care for their harmful effects.
Without effective enforcement of regulations, pesticides are easily spread beyond their projected
areas. According to research, the overuse of pesticides causes many human diseases, animal
diseases, and disruptions in our ecosystem. Well defined regulations, along with consumer
education, could limit the misuse of pesticides and protect our fragile pollinator populations from
continued decline to help ensure future food sources for many generations to come.

An estimated 2.2 million people are at risk due to exposure from agricultural pesticides, with the
majority of this population being located in developing nations (Hicks, 2012). Most people affected
by pesticides contract them by consuming food contaminated with a high concentration of
pesticides. In humans, pesticides can cause headaches, blurred vision, vomiting, abdominal pain,

In the first half of the twentieth century, the law had regularly been known to choose not to see to illegal activity in light of personal involvement, the risk of striking back, or political weight. • 7. Summary Of The Love Of God And Affliction By Simone Weil The political activist and mystic Simone Weil saw mysticism as deeply engaged in the real world and not in the private domain. Despite having great insight into Christian mysticism Simone Weil was never baptized. After her death, her various letters and essays were comprised and formed the book which is entitled Waiting for God. In the essay The Love of God and Affliction, Weil believes people can find God in the affliction which she defines as a physical suffering and an uprooting of life that results in social degradation of the fear of it in some form or another . According to Weil, Affliction makes God appear to be absent for a time, more absent than a dead man, more absent than light in the utter darkness of a cell. ... Then, one day, God will come to show himself to the soul and to reveal the beauty of the world to it... (70) It is difficult for the person experiencing affliction and the person submitting themselves to be around affliction to see God in their life. Affliction is not just any kind of suffering; it is one of the greatest and most horrid sufferings that a person could possibly experience. Thus, it is easy to lose sight of God being around affliction since there seems to be no light in the world. However, with time, surrounding yourself with people going through affliction, God will reveal yourself to you and you will understand and see the true beauty of the world. This is an interesting notion since it saying through the most horrid suffering, you will realize the true beauty of life. This is how Simone Weil found mystical experiences as being deeply engaged in the world and how she truly connected with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, he supported different groups and individuals at different time, which limited his influence due to the apparent changes in political allegiances to pursue what he felt was best for the republic. The significance within Cicero career initially lies within his early career through the several legal cases he undertook in his attempt to restore the republic to its encrypted and truest form leading him to move along the Cursus Honorum. • 12. Pollution And Environmental Problems Of Mankind Name: Instructor: Course: Date: Pollution and environmental problems of mankind In recent years, we often hear and use the word ecology , but one can hardly assume that everyone understands him correctly. About even the experts argue what meaning people should invest in this concept. In the meantime, they argue, laymen have realized such ecological minimum: it means to breathe clean air, drink clean water, eat food without nitrates and glow in the dark. The term ecology (from the Greek oikos a house, dwelling place, and logos science) was provided in 1866 by the German zoologist Ernst Haeckel, who introduced it into use to refer to general science about the organisms and their environment. But now the concept of ecology has already gone far beyond the scope of what to put in it and Ernst Haeckel as specified in the reference books and encyclopedias. Now it is an independent science about the environment (in terms of its interactions with living organisms and, above all people). It nourishes not only and not so much biology, but almost all of Earth science meteorology, hydrology, oceanography, climatology, geography, geology with the necessary for their physical and mathematical and chemical methods, as well as sociology, psychology and economics. The land included in the restricted access area accounts for 17 percent of the total Gaza land area and includes 35 percent of Gaza s agricultural land. These problems do not simply breed bad feelings between the nations now but the constant state of tension between Palestineand Israel creates a long lasting state of aggression in the future generations which facilitate more violence and chaos than before. Research conducted by Save the Children UK in 2009 found that up to 70 percent of all households living near the restricted access area had been displaced at least once since 2000 . • 14. Nonformity Is A Form Of Conformity Throughout history, many have tried to break away from society s norms in an attempt to live life more fully. Examples include religious, government, and cultural revolutions where people group themselves based on their beliefs in order to create wide scale change. But I question just how many people in these groups Вreally believe in their movements. By no means am I negating the sincerity of the thousands who participated in the peace movement of the 1960s or the punk movement of the late 1970s in fact, I have come to embrace many of the ethos and philosophies of these cultural movements. However, I am saddened by the number of young people I see who seem to believe that they are punk because of the kind of shoes or brand of clothing they wear. I see it every day here at Alpena high school when I walk in the door in the morning. The types of clothing that people wear and the styles that they want to have put them in what social group they belong to . As you can see conformityhas been around for a long time, since humans have called Earth their home actually but is non conformity a form of conformity? Read on to find out that yes, non conformity is a form of conformity. Today it seems as if the original philosophies of these groups have been forgotten. Their historical records were dirtied over time by the stereotypes of non participant generations and the bias of the media. Youth today seems to look at such movements through commercialized lenses, allowing their understanding of the world to be altered by what is in, popular, or on television. For example if you were on a road trip with your grandparents and you were in the car and you flipped to the most recent rap station there is they would look at you differently than if you turned the dail to the music that they grew up with. Whenever I am with my grandparents they always question me on weather or not I actually listen to their generations music because of the steryotype that teens listen to only fast beat music that you can barely understand. To me, the clothing and physical or material elements specific to a certain counterculture movement should emphasize its beliefs rather than replace them. • 15. Integrating Technology Within The Classroom Literature Review In the last few decades, there has been a push for integrating technology within the classroom. Technologies has become commonly associated with the activities of everyday life, as a result, there has been increased pressure to include technology in classrooms, kindergarten through twelfth grade since the 1980s. (page #?Grant et al., 2015). This technology push has only increased since the last century; educators are no longer responsible for teaching the traditional reading, writing, and arithmetic pedagogy of the past. In respect, students are no longer viewed in the same blank slates, but as collaborators in their learning. This collaboration is effective in preparing students for the job market of the future, in which these technologies will be ever present and constantly changing. In the 21st century, teachers and students have access to a constantly evolving series of technologies which has facilitated a continued interest in how to use these types of technology in educational environments. Through the incorporation of educational technology models and theories, the practitioner s focus is specifically on how technology can be used to improve student performance through processes, procedures, and tools. Processes and procedures may comprise any task or intervention involving anything from a simple instructional strategy to a complex instructional system. (Wade et al., 2013). However, successful integration of technology will only occur when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Therefore, it is no surprise that Christians would want to protect this city from Muslim invaders, just as Muslims had conquered North Africa, Palestine, Mesopotamia, the Persian Empire, and territories in southern Asia and the Indian subcontinent for their jihad. The word jihad can be translated as struggle or holy war. Further, Christians often had to work side by side with Muslims in the territories they captured, specifically when the crusaders formed an alliance with Egyptians against invading Seljuk Turks because the captured territories often lacked settlers and defenders. This would mean that crusaders were far more likely to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An account by a Muslim diplomat, politician, and historian, Usamah Ibn Munqidh, gives an interesting depiction of medical treatment in the West before the Crusades. In his account, he describes how his uncle was asked to send a doctor to look at some urgent cases by the governor of Al Mounaitira. The uncle sent a Christian doctor named Thabit that was able to successfully treat a knight with an abscess on his leg and a woman with consumptive fever. A Frankish doctor then said the man was incapable of treating the patients and proceeded to order the leg of the knight to be cut off, through which the knight died during the procedure, and told the woman that the devil had taken possession of her head, shaving her hair off then later using a razor to cut her head open in the shape of a cross, scraping away the skin so that bone was showing, and rubbing her head with salt, from which the woman died . The credibility of this source is questionable because it is most likely biased, but gives a good description of common medical practices by Westerners during that time. Medical treatments hadn t truly improved for hundreds of years, despite the contact between Muslims and Westerners in Crusader States. An additional benefit of the Crusades was the rediscovery of Aristotle, who the Muslims read from texts translated from Latin to Arabic. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Malting plants and breweries consume heatfor their thermally driven processes at temperature level ranges between 25В°C to 120В°C. It seems feasible to supply heat at this temperature level which is not higher than the actual amount required but in reality the it is often decided by the consumer which needs the highest temperature. The integration of solar renewable energysystem is necessary to reduce the exergy losses and CO2 emissions [17,21,24,25]. From the perspective of 2016, the events which took place in 1788 were barbaric, destructive and horrific to say the least. Indigenous Australians were shot, enslaved and stolen by the early settlers, all because they were seen as inferior, less civilized and were thus, merely savages for the benefit of a superior kind. The first part of this essay will therefore discuss how the philosophical view of anthropocentrism was embedded into the early European culture, and how it justified their actions. Further, it will be shown how a legal pluralism was used to manipulate the Indigenous Australians, and how it seemingly justified their actions. These philosophical views will aid in the understanding of why the Indigenous were treated in so harshly, and why they deserve recognition for their injustices. Further, this discussion will aid in understanding of why the relationship between the Indigenous and the state has developed in such an undesirable manor. The second part of this essay will discuss proposed mechanisms which will try and provide solutions, such as recognition, to the historical wrongs associated with colonisation. These mechanisms include the proposal of an amendment made to the Constitution, whereby Indigenous Australians will be granted constitutional recognition. • 29. Spirituality And Religiosity While consensus among researchers on the definition of spirituality and religiosity is lacking, what it means to be spiritual or religious and what constitutes a spiritual person in the literature is still very highly researched (Stranahan, 2008). Many definitions of religiosity and spirituality include religious service attendance, some sort of meaning and purpose in life, personal strength to cope with difficulties, and believing in a higher being (Stranahan, 2008). Older adults tend to have stronger faith and greater spirituality than younger populations (Moberg, 2005). This difference in spirituality between younger populations and older adults is possibly tied to the deepening of spiritual interests and concern during the later years (Moberg, 2005, p. 15). Older adults tend to become more religious, or turn to religionmore as they age, instead of maintaining a high level of religiosity throughout their lives (Moberg, 2005). Spirituality and religiosity are very important to the aging process due to the connection observed in many studies between spiritual health and physical and mental health and well being, with religion having protective health effects. Based on the Vineyard s and harvester s details, the Annual Equivalences (AE) of both replacement frequencies were calculated and compared under the constant chain of replacement assumption. However, the specific assumptions must be held in this analysis. Methodology There are two options for the harvesters: replaced every 15 years or every 10 years. They are mutually exclusive investments having unequal lives with replacement. In order to maximise the firm value, the method of AE was used since the two projects have the same discount rate, and AE method converts the NPVs of the projects into annualised values which can be compared under this situation. • 36. Effects Of Betrayal In The Renaissance The end of the Middle Ages and the flowering of the Renaissance brought many shifts to European societal structure. The face of Christianity changed considerably from the fourteenth century to the mid sixteenth century, beginning with disagreement over who should hold absolute power, the Pope or the Holy Roman Emperor. While the corporate Catholic church had once maintained a fairly unified influence on society, a more nuanced form of Christianitybegan developing, leading to reformed religious groups with opposing views, namely the Protestants and Anglicans. In the wake of differing opinions, people s group identification determined what people they sided with and who they wouldn t tolerate. With more complex religious and political perspectives, people could distance themselves ideologically from peers, family, and leaders. Frequent mentions of treacherous actions within the literature of this time demonstrates that these differing views made people feel betrayed by their associates. The idea of betrayal is prominent in the lives and texts of several authors of this period, including Dante, Thomas More, and NiccolГІ Machiavelli. It has been reported that 1000 kg tea leaf (dry weight) remove 40 50 kg Nitrogen (N), 4 8,5 kg Phosphorus (P) and 16 19 kg Potassium (K). Bonheur and Wilson (1992) reported that without fertilizer application the supply of nutrients available in the soil would become exhausted leading to mineral deficiencies in the plants, severe reduction in yield and ultimately, the death of the plants. Bonheur and Wilson (1992) also found that Nitrogen is very important for plant growth and is present in the most important substances in the plant (Chlorophyll, nucleotides, hormones, protoplasm, and vitamins etc). Besides, stem and older leaves also take 50 kg Nitrogen, 12 kg Phosphorus and 32 kg Potassium. Weeds growing in tea field also absorb substantial quantity of the nutrients and if not removed from the fields, result in permanent loss. The removal of nutrients thus, has to be compensated by their external application. Besides, response of other nutrients viz., Sulphur, Magnesium, and Zinc etc is being noticed in high productive gardens. Rojoa et al. (1979) revealed that the highest yields in Mauritius were given in tea by application of 375 kg nitrogen per hectare per annum. A technology that has great advancements in recent years, though drones are nothing new. The first official drone dates to France in 1782 with the Montgolfier Brothers; they sent unmanned balloons out prior to testing with individuals on board. While nothing like modern drones, this is the first example of an unmanned vehicle. Regulation plays a large part in the practicality of delivery drones, especially in the United States. Current FAA regulation places several restrictions on drone deliveries. Part 107 of the current FAA s regulations on drones causes drones to have top be: in the line of sight of the pilot, not controlled autonomously, each pilot can only control one drone at a time and it cannot be controlled from a moving vehicle. For these reasons alone drone deliveries are highly impractical as not only will the individual have to live very close to the deployment center, but also large fleets of delivery drones would be impossible due to needing an individual pilot per drone. Additional regulations exist though beyond the FAA s, such as local and state regulations. Current regulations simply do not promote drone deliveries ( Drone Delivery 3 Big Legal Problems , 2018). The second large hurdle for delivery drones, infrastructure. Drones do not handle well in cities and in forested areas due to interference. A drone would require a landing pad that would not only prevent unwanted individuals from getting the delivery but also pets. Additionally, drones would operate under 400 feet in the air, which currently does not have any form of air traffic control (Murison, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

History And Traditions Of Ancient Egypt The history and traditions of a people can be reflected in its compositions because the writing often preserves the values, concerns, and characteristics of the era. While the canonical literature of a civilization often reflects the most highly prized attributes of the society, more typical pieces of writing tend to offer a unique and realistic perspective on the civilization s lifestyle. A collection of ancient Egyptian love poems written by average citizens was uncovered in Deir el Medina and, like all other works of literature, within the writing, there are details indicative of their values. Because of their special nature, the poems offer an alternative viewpoint to the experiences of commoners. The love reflected in the poetry of ordinary ancient Egyptians was affected by their society s customs, family, and religion. The social mores of ancient Egypt influenced love as indicated in the poetry. In I Devised to Drink in Her Beauty, a common man is travelling to his lover but encounters Mehy, a well known and fearsome warrior. Mehy is representative of ancient Egyptian traditions and obligations and so, upon his encounter, the lover attempts to avoid the warrior. The power and influence that Mehy retains, as illustrated by him being in his chariot, causes the boy to want to hide his wanton desires.
