The Opposition Of Quebec Separatism
In recent elections, the separatist parties in Quebec have seen crushing defeats, raising questions
about their relevance in modern day Canada. Support for Quebec separatism has diminished in
the past several decades, with the rise of the NDP in the 2011 federal election and the more
recent provincial Liberal victory in April of 2014. In the 2011 federal election, specifically, the
Bloc Quebecois was reduced to only four seats in the House of Commons, while the NDP took the
majority of Quebecs seats. The provincial Parti Quebecois (PQ) has also been faltering, losing
more often than not to the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ). Indeed, over the past decade, the PLQ
has only lost one election, and has held majorities in many. The most recent election put them back
into power after a short PQ minority government that began in 2012. These recent elections may
point to a future in which the separatist movement in Quebec may be silenced. Since the late
1950s, the question of Quebec separatism has existed, with levels of support varying throughout
the following decades, leading up the referendums of 1980 and 1995. The defeats suffered by the
separatist parties in recent elections demonstrate that the separatist movement may be close to
being over in Quebec. The history of Quebec within Canada has been problematic since the very
beginnings of Canada. The clash of the culture of the French and English speaking Canadians has
created tensions in Canada since the British took over in

Events That Lead To The American Revolution Essay
The Events That Lead to the American Revolution In 1776 and the preceding years there was great
unrest in the English colonies of the New World. This war, known as the American Revolution, lead
to the making of the United States. There were many events that led to The American Revolution.
One of which was The Great Awakening, a time of religious revival and return to the Puritan
Church. Similarly, The Enlightenment, which was period of using logic and reasonable thinking
was a cause of the R. In addition to The Great Awakening and The Enlightenment, the French and
Indian war was another cause of The Revolutionary War. The French and Indian War was a war

Dangerous Liaisons By Pierre Ambroise Laclos
It is true that in the old times women did not have equal rights as men. Men had more social and
political freedom comparing to women, and the system was organized on men. It took a really
long time for women to gain at least some equality. In the book Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre
Ambroise Laclos there are many examples of women having much less rights comparing to men
in the 18th century. Back then, women simply couldn t do what men could simply because they
were women and they weren t considered as powerful as men were. Women had to do more
things in order for them to do the same things as men. For example, if women wanted to have an
affair it had to be kept secret and no one was supposed to find out about it, because if someone did

So the author can also hide Cecile s true feeling because she doesn t want everyone to know that
she was raped. This would make her life in the future miserable, because none of the men would
want to marry her, since back then men wanted to have pure wives. Another part of this
argument is that Valmont said that since he had the key to Cecile s room, people would believe
him rather then her. Cecile states that in the letter to Madame de Merteuil: ...he was careful to
tell me that, if anyone came, he would know how to put all the blame on me; and, indeed, it was
very easy, because of the key. (letter 97, page 148). That could be true the people would believe
Valmont rather than Cecile because of the key, but Cecile could have also brought up that she
gave him the key because she wanted him to bring the letters from Danceny, since Cecile s
mother already knew that Cecile was writing to Danceny before. This could have saved her from
the rape from Valmont. But because she didn t not do that, I do not believe that the scene with
Valmont seduction of Cecile, could be considered as rape. This can also be showed how women
had much less rights because people were more likely believe Valmont rather than Cecile if
something was to come up about that seduction. Cecile wasn t able to share it with anyone
except for Madame de Merteuil because she knew she basically had no rights and her life would
be over. On the other hand Valmont was happy to share that he had an affair with Cecile because it
was an accomplishment for him, even though it was not as big as his usual

Essay On Pros For Conscientious Objectors
In 1945, the Korean peninsular was divided into two Koreas: South and North Korea. The
geographical division turned into the ideological collision: democracy versus communism. Because
of the tension along the border between South and North Korea, national security has become a
significant issue , and mandatory military service continues to take precedence over individual
human rights (Choi 133). Specifically, not only the Korean Ministry of Defense, but also the public
in South Koreahave opposed to implement the alternatives for conscientious objectors because of
the concerns: the need for equal treatment in military service and the fear that providing an
exception will result in the decline of military strength and national security (Choi 135 36). In this
sense, the conscientious objectors were criticized as being no more than unpatriotic deviants who
ignore the serious military tension and refuse to fight against the communist North (Cho 194).
Evidently, the national sentiment has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Oh Tae Yang refused to military service with the belief of pacifism (Cho 195). A number of pacifist,
human rights activists, and lawyers conducted discussions to request that the government recognize
the conscientious objection as a human right, and establish alternative service for the objectors in
place of the military service (Cho 195).
In 2004, twenty two Congressmen submitted a draft of the Military Service Act, which included
provisions for alternative service for conscientious objectors , and in 2005, the National Human
Rights Commission made a recommendation to establish an alternative service system (Cho 195,

conscientious objectors, and, in 2015, Amnesty International still claims, The South Korean
authorities have failed to comply with Article 18 of the ICCPR

Essay On Acceleration Class
I enjoyed my fourth day at Forest Brook Middle School. I sat in both an Accelerated class and
General Ed class. The Accelerated class was working on One Step and Two Step Equations. Since
the lesson ended early they were able to work in groups and start on homework. Ms. Molesky
informed me that in this particular class students didn t need much help because they can do
everything on their own. Their homework was a maze like worksheet where each answer led them
to a certain problem. While walking around I noticed one studentsolving the problems in his own
way, but he still gets the right answer, he tried explaining it to me and his partner, but we both didn

The Client Of A Mental Health Facility
The Client s Right To Die
A client that has expressed he has been suffering from severe bipolar disorder and his quality of
life is so compromised by his illness that he logically and rationally chooses suicide, should be
involuntary admitted to a mental health facility. As a counselor for the client it is ethically
necessary to try to minimize harm where it is foreseeable and unavoidable (3.04, American
Psychological Association, 2002). Subsequently, petitioning to have the client admitted to a
mental health facility will serve as a means of trying to minimize harm to the client. According
to Illinois law the client is a candidate for involuntary admission to a mental health facility
because due to his illness he is reasonably expected to engage in dangerous conduct which places
him in harm (405 ILCS 5/1 119). According to Illinois law, as a counselor of at least 18 years of
age for the client and who has direct knowledge of the client s desire to harm himself, I would
present a petition for admittance to a mental facility to the facility director (405 ILCS 5/3 601).
The petition would include the descriptions of client s symptoms of bi polar disorder such as his
reports of terrifying and tormenting episodes of depressive psychosis as well as his feelings of
helplessness and hopelessness. Most important, the petition would also include his announcement
that he has decided to commit suicide, rather than fight his recurrent mental illness. In addition to

Professional Socialization In Nursing
Professional Socialization
Socialization is the process during which people learn the roles, statuses and values necessary for
participation in social institutions. (Dinmohammadi, 2013) This process is life long and begins
with learning norms and roles of a family. It is important to develop a self concept which will
continue to grow. As a person gets older you develop new groups and assume new roles. In turn the
person will learn new norms and redefine self concepts. Professional socialization is only the
periodic process of socialization that continues throughout an individual s life.

Genetic Engineering In Margaret Atwood s Oryx And Crake
Margaret Atwood s Oryx and Crake characterizes the world after an uncontrolled experiment
causing near total destruction of all human kind. In the eyes of Snowman, also known as Jimmy,
we witness his journeys back and forth between the reminiscences of the past and the present. The
major calamities slowly make its transition as it all began in the hands of man who believed in the
works of biotechnology, as a ground breaking vitality to humanity, only to be destroyed by their
own creations and conceptions. Similar to reality, biotechnology took off as it began cross
breeding and modifying produce the creators desired genetically modified organisms, also known
as GMOs. As how Atwood s views the world pessimistically through the trials of error from genetic
engineering, she warns us and abstracts the reasons that the pervasive usage of the sciences and
technology to be a source to the downfall of humanity.
Deeply entrenched within society is the idea that we are continually advancing and developing in
all sorts of ways, but mainly for the benefit of human vitality. In Oryx and Crake, one of the
experiments the scientists and researchers focuses on is their pigoon project, where they can grow
an assortment of foolproof human tissue organs in transgenic knockout pig hosts (22). The pigs are
genetically modified by inserting human cells into them so they can internally reproduce the same
organs as humans do, and are also inserted with spliced genes to fend off attacks by

The History of and Issues surrounding the Same-Sex...
Same sex marriage is one of the leading political topics in the United States today. There is an
ongoing dispute pertaining to the legalization of same sex marriages. America has shifted its head
to focusing on supporting same sex marriage or not. Many are for and against this topic but there
has been no settlement for it yet. Homosexuals want to marry for the same reason that
heterosexuals have and there should be no reason why they are not allowed to. There is some
history behind this topic but there has yet to be a solution.
During World War II and well after that brought many different social and political changes to the
United States of America. One of the major changes was the discovery of homosexuality. In 1969
the Stonewall riots ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In May of 2009 the fifth state, Maine, passed legislation for same sex marriage. Then on June third
of the same year John Lynch, the New Hampshire governor, signed a legislation allowing same sex
marriage. This makes New Hampshire the sixth state in the nation to allow same sex marriage. In
this same year President Obama signs a referendum allowing same sex partners to receive benefits
through federal employees.
Homosexuals should be able to be legally married in all the United States due to the fact that
their spouses will be able to get benefits, able to make medical decisions if need be, and get
property inheritance. Even though people believe that civil unions and domestic partnerships are
an alternative to marriage they are wrong. There should be no reason why same sex couples
cannot get married in any place in the United States. The states that do not allow same sex
marriage are severely hurting same sex couples because they are the ones that have to pay when it
comes to medical decisions, employee benefits, and even adopting children. People do not know
this side of the same sex marriage issue and that is what they need to pay more attention to.
When denying homosexuals the right to marry society is saying that gays and lesbians do not have
the same rights as a heterosexual couples and that is not right. Denying marriage to same sex
couples also has emotional and financial

How Chiropractic Is A Natural Form Of Health Care
When people see their chiropractor, unfortunately, they don t realize how a simple visit can identify
their pain and perhaps cure it. Chiropractic is a natural form of health care that uses spinal
adjustments to correct these misalignments and restore proper function to the nervous system,
helping your body to heal naturally (Palmer College of Chiropractic). This indicates that
chiropractic care is very helpful in a natural way. Chiropractors use their hands to adjust joints, the
spine and other parts of the body where movement is restricted, which relieves pain improves
mobility by restoring normal body function (Pruden). Drugs and surgery are not necessary for
someone to heal from treatments which can lead to proper blood flow to the nerve system and help
the body to recover quickly. Chiropractic treatment can be simple as a back adjustment, neck
adjustment or even a shoulder adjustment to figure out the pain or the injury. The good thing about
chiropractic care is that the body can heal itself, and there is no need for prescription drugs. D.D
Palmer stated that Many patients imagine that they have tried everything. True, they have used
many remedies, but they have never had the cause of their infirmity adjusted (Pruden). When a
patient sees his chiropractor, his treatments starts as the chiropractor gives a physical examination
to see how his body is functioning and then takes the patient s history to try to figure if there is a
problem in the past that can

Art Therapy
Art Therapy: Treatment for Anxiety and Depression in Adults Art has been a part of our culture
since the very beginning of time and has been used for many different purposes. The creation
and viewing of art has the ability to transport us to another time or place, to calm us, to help us
express our emotions and define our sense of self. It is only natural then to wonder how we can
use these emotions towards art to learn more about a person and their situation as well as how to
use art to help someone cope with any harmful emotions or difficulties they may be dealing with.
The field of art therapyaims to do just this. Art therapy employs the use of many different mediums
and techniques such as painting, modeling, and drawing as a unique way to diagnose a mental
condition. It also uses these mediums as a method to help alleviate and manage harmful symptoms
by helping patients to de stress and express their emotions in a healthy manner, especially if they
are unable (or unwilling) to verbalize their thoughts and feelings. For adults with anxietyand/or
depression, art therapy has shown to be a wonderful coping mechanism, helping them to relax and
develop a healthier self.

An Overview Of Barings Bank
вћўOverview of Barings Bank
Barings Bank was founded in 1763 and known as the oldest merchant bank in London until its
collapse in 1995. The bank not only accepted deposits and provided financial services to its
clients but also traded on its own account. Over the years it became quite successful and in 1980 it
set up brokerage operations in Japan. Soon after, it expanded its operations to include a handful of
other Asian countries and in 1992 it activated its seat on the SIMEX (Singapore International
Monetary Exchange) with Nick Leeson as general manager. However, Leeson used his position to
engage in both fraudulent behavior and risky speculation on futures and options, and ended up
losing ВЈ1.4 billion of the funds capital, which finally caused the bank s insolvency in 1995.

Essay on Mutual Mistake
Abstract Mutual Mistake of fact is when both parties of a contract make an assumption of fact
when contract is formed and signed. The mistake must significantly change what you have to do
under the contract, almost to the point where it s an entirely different agreement. Although, if you
knew there was a strong chance or probability of mistake at the time the contract was signed, you
may have assumed the risk of that mistake. You therefore cannot use the mutual mistake defense.
Not all cases of Mutual Mistake are strong enough to void a contract. Contract Law: Mistake of

(LaMance, 2011) It is absolutely agreeable that in these types of situations that a contract be
deemed void from a mutual mistake of fact. If, for example, someone was contacted to dig a
whole in someone s backyard but after the contract had been signed both parties had found out
that under a thin layer of dirt was solid rock, a mutual mistake of fact could make the contract
void since neither party knew of the rock under the surface. If a mutual mistake defense was not
possible then the person contracted to dig the whole would have to dig the whole under any
circumstance and run the risk of destroying their equipment and/or having to spend more money
for equipment capable of doing the job. In the case of John Harlty neither party acted
unethically. Though one could argue that the salesperson should of known that the manufacturer
was to stop production on cars with either a 3.2 liter and 3.9 liter V6 engine and begin
production on a new model with a 3.5 liter engine before trying to sell a discontinued car to a
customer. This would make it a unilateral mistake of fact because the salesperson had a reason to
know of the mistake and it was his fault that led to the mistake (Emanuel, 2011). But, on the other
hand, buying a new car is a pretty big deal and the potential customer should have done their own
research and found out that a certain model of car was to be changed in

Cheer Should Be A Sport Essay
Why don t people believe cheer should be a sport? Is it because it s mainly a all women sport?
Heck what even is a sport? If people don t consider cheer a sport, then why is football or
basketball a sport and not a activity . Even though people don t want cheer to be a sport because
of the outfit or so called dancing, they need to reconsider the fact that cheerleaders are just as
active, work just as hard and get hurt like any other sport. Per Say squads like the Great White

Human Cloning Persuasive Essay
ABEER SHARMA
Paper 2
X E: Persuasive Essay
Human Cloning Should Not Be Sanctioned Under Any Circumstances.
Albeit not everybody would concur, I optate to argue that Human Cloning is erroneous! The noetic
conception of someone playing god and engendering life from human DNA outrages me. No Matter
how many times scientists fail to engender a plenarily engendered human copy they still don t
give up to pursue this desired goal. The first human embryos were unsuccessful as the embryos
cellular division ceased after only 6 cells had divided making the experiment a failure for the
scientists. I feel vigorously about this issue and in my opinion I don t optically discern why Human
Cloning is subsidiary for us humans, and how it benefits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The scientist that availed engender Dolly argued that she had astringent arthritis, which caused her
death. But after many investigations and a post mortem examination it was revealed that Dolly
suffered from Internal Lung Cancer, which was prevalent in many sheep breeds. Dolly s breed,
the Fin Dorset sheep, has a life expectancy of eleven to twelve years, so many notionally theorize
that she additionally died of a genetically age life expectancy of six years which designates that
Dolly s was only designated to live till she was six. So to bring my point forward, what would
transpire if humans were cloned? The most immensely colossal worry that many people have in
today s society is that if scientists are able to clone humans, the cloned human could have many
quandaries and suffer a short life, but even more people argue that it would have an effect on the
man and women offering their cells to be cloned.
One of the stranger reasons that I optate to bring forward is the conception of body supersessions
which in my opinion is outlandish and plenarily nonessential. In recent years there have been many
cases of scientists endeavoring to grow a body for someone who has recently been deceased,
denoting the transplantation of the encephalon from the deceased body into the cloned body. It is
now thought of only as science fiction, yet it may someday be a possibility in the distant future.
While it will always be unethical to kill another human to preserve another

Acid Base Extraction Lab Report
Acid Base Extraction Lab
Experimental:
Three grams of a mixture containing Benzoic Acid and Naphthalene was obtained and placed in
100 ml beaker and added 30 ml of ethyl acetate for dissolving the mixture. A small amount (1 2
drops) of this mixture was separated into a test tube. This test tube was covered and labelled as
M (mixture). This was set to the side and used the following week for the second part of lab. The
content in the beaker was then transferred into separatory funnel. 10 ml of 1 M NaOH added to
the content and placed the stopper in the funnel. In the hood separatory funnel was gently shaken
for approximately one minute and vent the air out for five seconds. We repeated the same process
in the same manner one more time by adding 10ml of 1M NaOH.
After about 1 minute of shaking, the two layers separated. The organic layer on the top layer
(consisted of ethyl acetate and naphthalene) collected for further experiment; by adding Sodium
Sulfate into organic phase and filtering the Na2So4 from the solution using the wool. The dried
organic layer was weighed to get its mass and the residue of Na2SO4 were rinsed with ethyl acetate
under vacuum (rotary evaporator). The acid extract on the bottom layer which is a combination of
benzoic acid and NaOH were collected in the 50 mL Erlenmeyer beaker for the recovery of acid.
We then created an ice bath using a 250mL Erlenmeyer beaker. The 50 mL Erlenmeyer beaker
was then labeled as Acid Extract , and was placed in the

In order for the Bell s to maintain that they have the right to exploit the taken photo by submitting it

The EU definition is considered by academics and those who practice within the field to hold a

In Painer , a limitation was established concerning photographs of two dimensional subjects, created

inapplicable within the facts, as the photograph taken includes multiple three dimensional objects

Racial Stereotypes Of Deaf And Deaf
Cultural stereotypes used to consider deafness to be a great misfortune, but being deaf does not
limit the abilities of a person. Members of the Deaf community consider deafness to be normal
rather than a disability. A deaf people can do anything a hearing person can do, such as, drive,
participate in group activities, communicate, and have normal lives. Deaf In the film Through Deaf
Eyes , an HDTV documentary including interviews, personal stories, and historic accounts, the
prejudice and affirmation of Deaf cultureis revealed to show hearing people the reality of deaf life.
Through this film, I have learned about education for deaf people, the Deaf President Now
Movement, and about cochlear implants. The Fist thing I learned from watching Through Deaf
Eyes is the differences between deaf speaking schools and deaf ASL schools. Deaf speaking
schools teach deaf people to communicate using speech through speech therapy. Speaking
schools are good because they enables a deaf person to learn speech to talk with a hearing
person. The problem with speaking schools is that they are not always effective and ban the use
of ASL. Speech therapy creates a one way method of communication between a deaf person and a
hearing person. With speech a deaf person is able to speak with a hearing person, but they are still
not able to hear the person they are talking to. Unlike speaking schools, ASL schools teach their
students to communicate with sign language. ASL is a language that uses

Glorifying the Age of Reason
THE AGE OF REASON The age of reason is a period in time in which the idea of reasoning
things out was glorified. This period is also known as The Enlightenment , it started around the
mid 1600 s and ended at around the end of the 1700 s. Never before had questioning things and
acquiring solutions for ourselves as individuals been so popular. This age resulted in major
advancements in mathematics, science, even in political views and other subjects. This period is a
concoction of different minds that contributed towards the creation of various new ideas, some
which were radical for its time. There are two guys that are considered to be the fathers of The
Enlightenment, they were Francis Bacon and Rene Descartes. Francis Bacon believed that he could
free the ignorant mindof plebs with science, and with science they would be able to become more
productive and also live better lives. But to discard of ignorance that was so widespread at his
time is not easy, so he had to come up with a way for people to figure things out. These two really
set up the method for everyone else to figure things out and this method is known as the Scientific
Method. Isaac Newton, another great thinker/mathematician/physicist of The Enlightenment took
the ideas of Francis Bacon and Rene Descartes and took them beyond imagination. He created a
branch of math called calculus and also the laws of gravity and the laws of motion. Other subjects

The affected area in Spastic CP is the brain cortex, and it can be identified when the muscle tone

signs: hyperreflexia, clonus, and present of primitive reflexes. Berker Yalcin (2010). The three
common types of Spastic CP are hemiplegia, diplegia, and quadriplegia. Hemiplegia means half

(2010). Dyskinetic CP occurs due to affection of the basal ganglia, and the muscle tone is
characterized by both hypo and hyper tonicity. Berker Yalcin (2010). The signs of this type are
dysarthria, dysphagia, and salivation supplement with the movement problem. Berker Yalcin

synchronization, and regulation of fine movement. Berker Yalcin (2010). Muscle tone in this
type tends to show hypotonic at the first 2 years of the child, then it becomes normal. Berker

dysmetria. Berker Yalcin (2010). The last type is mixed CP when the lesion in the brain is

The Entente Cordiale, Signed 1904
The Entente Cordiale, signed 1904, was a series of agreements that changed Anglo Franco relations
entirely. For one thousand years beforehand, the English and the French had many disagreements,
wars, and conflicts that created a lot of tension between the two nations. But forty years after the
Entente established a friendship between the two countries, England and France fought two major
wars as very close allies.
The main reason that the Entente Cordiale was signed in the first place was that England and
France were having conflicts over land in Africa. Yet the agreement was so monumental in nature
that it completely changed Anglo Franco relations for over one hundred years to come. It caused
the two countries that had previously hated each other to fight on the same side of two wars and
cheer each other on. It changed public opinion and foreign policy between the two nations.
However, the actual origins as to why the British would engage in negotiations with a country that
they ve hated for centuries seem uncertain. Germany is starting to mobilize, is threatening Britain
with its rapidly growing and modernizing navy, and is industrializing at an alarming rate. At the
same time, France is becoming more prominent in Africa and the Mediterranean, not to mention a
powerful alliance with Russia in addition. With these facts in mind, what was the strategic upside to
England signing the Entente with an old enemy? Was it to defend themselves from the growing
military threat of

A Review of Different Elicitation Techniques in Requirement Engineering
CECS 590
SAI CHARAN GOUD KOLANU (012793649)
INTRODUCTION:
Requirement Engineering is the initial and crucial step in the Software Development. In the past
few years Requirement Engineering phase has been given much of an importance, it basically refers
to gathering of information from the client that is required for the development of the project. This
phase is crucial as it forms the foundation of the project. The Requirement Engineering phase is
broke down into three stages, Requirement Elicitation, Requirement Specification and Requirement
validation.
This paper is going to discuss the various techniques that are generally practiced for Requirement
Elicitation. The term Requirement Elicitation refers to gathering of information about the project
from clients, users and other stake holders. It is quite a complicated process as the user never really
knows what exactly he wants, the information cannot be collected just by asking different questions
about the project. There are various techniques that are in practice for this purpose. Rest of this
paper discusses about such techniques along with their pros and cons.

Little Bluestem-Dry Ecosystems
Little Bluestem Dry Mesic also occurs mostly in the Northern half of the park, primarily on the
side slopes of cuestas, seen in Figure #. The elevation of Little Bluestem Dry Mesic varies
significantly. It reaches from almost as low as 1290 feet up to 1335 feet (Keane, 2015). Due to
this variance in elevation, there is slightly more of a difference in soilqualities from higher to
lower. The primary soil type present is Benfield with some Dwight Irwin Complex occurring in
the lowest elevations (USDA, 2015). The Benfield soil in this ecosystem is still relatively shallow
with the A Horizon reaching a depth of 10 feet and the next horizon, Bt1 reaching only another 9
feet down. The parent material for Benfield is pedisediment over residuum weathered from shale,
allowing for smaller clay particles to form.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the Dwight Irwin soil has more of a deeper, moister quality. Benfield and Dwight Irwin
soils do allow for more species richness than other lower elevated ecosystems but due to the drier
soils, Little Bluestem is still the most dominant plant recorded. The dominance of Little Bluestem
extends down to the lowest boundaries of the ecosystem, indicating that the soil conditions do stay
relatively consistent, despite the change in soil type. This allows Little Bluestem to again be the
dominant plant species component. The drier qualities of the upper Benfield soil combine with the
slightly moister qualities of the lower Dwight Irwin soil to give the Dry Mesic classification. These
soil moisture content qualities, the location of this ecosystem along side slopes, and the consistent
dominance of the Little Bluestem plant species allows this ecosystem to be classified as Little
Bluestem Dry

The Importance Of Human Relationship In Fahrenheit 451
The Importance of Human Relationship As humans, there are many aspects that separate and
distinguish us from other animals. However, I believe the most valuable distinction is our ability to
create meaningful relationships. Whether these relationships are friendships, marriages or any
other union of two people, this connection is the basis of our humanity. Through relationships were
able to share knowledge, discuss ideas, and better ourselves through the enlightenment of others.
Moreover, the basis of a relationships lies on the principle that it is a shared give and take between
two people. Yet, what happens in a society that has slowly eradicated a person s ability to question
their surroundings and communication has been dumbed down to surface level discussions?
Ultimately the basis of a relationship is undermined, since there is no true human connection. The
ramifications of this ignorant lifestyle is articulated in Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451. The primary
relationships in this novel is between Montag and his wife Mildred. Throughout the story, we see
Montag change his perception of the world he lives in and his purpose as a fireman. With this
newfound realization, Montag tries to introduce Millie to books and the pursuit of knowledge. The
novel explores how an individual s shift in perception impacts the other person in the relationship. It
questions the fundamental idea of how relationships function. Simply because one person

What were the major historical factors explaining the scramble for Africa ?
In order to approach this essay question, my analysis will be divided into two parts. The first
section will define what the scramble for Africa means. In the subsequent sections, I will refer to
the case history of colonization of Africa by some European countries, the motives behind their
actions and its consequences on Africa particularly.
The scramble for Africa was described as the golden period of European expansionism in the 19th
century. It was an age in which the continents of Africa, Asia and Middle Eastern states were
brought under the control of European powers following the Berlin Conference from 1884 to

As argued by H. L. Wessseling (1996: 366), the historical interpretation of the partition was based
on imperialism due to entrepreneurship and therefore, primarily a struggle for profitable markets
of investment . He opined that aside from the economic motives upon which the partition was
based, there was indeed, consideration of strategic and political motives as well. From his
perspective, the political elites in Britain had no plan for Africa; instead they were promoting their
own preferences in Asia which was aimed at defending the crucial stake in both India and the East
(p. 366). Furthermore, the development of transportation was paramount to the Middle East war
because it promoted the development of Africa transportation network which was used to transport
bulky supplies from Congo Rivers, through Juba and Egypt (Hargreaves, 1988: 54).
Certainly, there was no question of the strategic and commercial importance of Africa, Asia and the
Middle Eastern territories to the Allied Powers prior to, and during, the Second World War.
acquiring a colony which further lead to an empire was significant factor in proving the status and
importance of a country (Chamberlain, 1985: p. 3). Whilst huge merit pertains in this argument,
there is no doubt the policy of imperialism in Africa, Asia and the Middle East is different from one

Managing The Global Financial System
In today s financial world systems, methods have been developing exponentially that reduce risk
and increase the profits of investors who are financially able and willing to commit funds to
investments, becoming part of the global financial system. The methods are sophisticated and
require financial experts who are entrusted to make the right choices in arranging the best
investment plans that will benefit these investors. One of these increasingly popular methods is
asset securitization. Measures in the application of this particular method have been improving,
especially since the market crash of 2008. Structured finance, which is another word for
securitization, is an alternative, non standard way of raising money by creating... Show more content

For example, in the United States, farm railroad mortgage bonds were some of the earliest forms of
securities. Later, in 1970, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development created the first
modern residential mortgage backed security, creating the Government National Mortgage
Association (GNMA or Ginnie Mae). Some years later, the model developed in securitization of
mortgage backed loans was also applied to non mortgage assets such as automobile loans and credit
card sales by banks. In the 1990s, the life insurance and reinsurance (catastrophe coverage) markets
began using securitization. Securitization in in the reinsurance markets played an important role
after Hurricane Katrina.
As mentioned before, there are certain steps which take advantage of this method of financial
structure. First, if there is a company that wants to obtain financing through securitization, that
company will start by identifying assets that can be used to raise funds. These assets typically
represent rights to payments at future dates and are usually referred to as receivables. The company
that owns the receivable is usually called the originator. In this process, the risk that these payments
many not be made on time is an important factor in valuing the receivables. In this factor, emphasis
and confidence is place on the originator, who must reasonably predict the

The Keurig Green Mountain Coffee Company
The Keurig Green Mountain Coffee Company focuses on the consumer and improving their coffee
experience. Keurig has a variety of products including brewing systems and the beverages that are
brewed in these systems. In my argument, I will be focusing mainly on the brewing systems alone.
Keurig Company has recently began expanding their business in international markets. I will be
evaluating Brazilas a possible country for growth. I will then discuss the potential success and
failures of the Keurig product entering the Brazilian market. This will be followed by an argument
on whether Keurig should or should not pursue expanding into Brazil.
Keurig is a subsidiary of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Company. The Green Mountain Coffee
Roasters Company provides organic, fair trade, gourmet coffee. When adding Keurig to the Green
Mountain Coffee Company it became an industry leader in specialty coffee, coffee makers, teas,
and multiple other beverage types. Supporting this, in 2014, Keurig sold $4.7 billion worth of
product, totaling $596 million in net income. As a company, they emphasize the importance of
social responsibility. They claim that with the use of K Cups, 85% of the waste from coffee is
diverted from landfills. The company and its employees have volunteered 57 thousand total hours
in community service. (Keurig Green Mountain, 2015) Between products and employees, Keurig is
successfully reflecting their socially responsible image. The Keurig products that I will

A Case Study,
Overcoming Infrastructure Roadblocks: Are Chinese Lessons Relevant?
This paper aims to document and analyse the different approaches in overall infrastructure sector
performance for these two very different countries from the policy and institutional dimensions. It
identifies factors that have worked in China and India. It also identifies some important lessons
which could be relevant for future infrastructure development.

Employment generation through construction of rural roads, and ground water and minor irrigation
to support food security received much higher priority compared to need to enhance logistics to
support industrial growth and improving overall economic efficiency.
In five year plans a major goal was to connect all villages (with population of more than 1,500
inhabitants) with rural road network; however, this was done through minimum needs program
supporting employment creation and leading to waste and inefficiency. Most of the roads thus
created did not meet quality standards because fiscal space was not adequate to accommodate both
the demand for resources for rural roads and also the national highway network which was getting
congested. Even in the case of power sector, village electrification was a priority so as to provide
power for the farms, but not necessarily to households. Emphasis on connectivity, without
improvements in overall economic efficiency meant unsustainable financial burden on the
government budgets. In the time of slower economic growth or external shocks such as wars and
high oil prices, infrastructure investments were major casualty. China with its high economic
growth rates and higher savings rates was able to allocate much larger resources for investments
in general. In the 1980, China saved 35% of GDP whereas India s savings rate was less than half
at 15.5%. This combined, with higher fiscal deficits in

How Did Shakespeare Destroy Macbeth
William Shakespeare wrote the famous tragedy named Macbeth, about a bloody rise to power and
the tragic downfall of the warrior Macbeth. There are accusations that some scenes and songs from
this play have been augmented from previous works, specifically the witch scenes. Most people
argue that since there were no copyrights during the era in which Macbethwas written, Shakespeare
indeed did not plagiarized any songs or scenes. However, the removal of the witch scenes that
include the stolen songs would cause the play to crumble. Therefor the witch scenes and songs are
indeed original to Shakespeare s play Macbeth.
Music is an important feature in Renaissance plays. The music is often moveable and changeable
along with only prologues and epilogues of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This scene is so vital that if it were removed it would ruin the dramatic irony of the audience
knowing the explanation of why the witches want to destroy Macbeth. It would also take away
from the motif of fate from the play. But most importantly it destroys the evidence that Macbeth
s locus of control is completely external because, from the beginning of act one the witches have
had control over Macbeth when they put a spell on him in scene one, act one. Each of these
witch scenes whether their music was plagiarized or augmented in any way, are extremely vital
to Macbeth s story line. If these scenes were to be removed it would destroy this famously known
play. So as a conclusion, these songs were usually borrowed off the street; there were no copyright
laws for other playwrights to be protected by, and the vital importance of the witch scenes, I
recommend that these scenes/songs be performed. These scenes/songs are ethically and legally

The United States And The Middle East
Following World War II, the major international powers in the Middle East began to lose influence
over the area. In 1946, France and Great Britain were forced to withdrawal from their colonized
states by the United Nation Security Council when a delegation of the Middle Eastern countries
called for the removal the colonial mandates on Middle East, specifically in Palestine (Department
of Public Information). While Britain and France did not completely abandon their influence over
the area, the removal of their direct influence over the Middle East left an opening for the two new
superpowers, the United States and the Soviet Union, to enter the scene. The two world powers
were in stark competition after World War II in an attempt to spread their political ideology. The
Middle East became a new battleground for the Cold Warafter the removal of France and Great
Britain. The two countries were drawn to the Middle East because of both their rivalry and their
own specific interests, but their actions had major regional repercussions on the area and the
relations between countries. The expression of the rivalry between the two countries came in three
forms: direct engagement, alliances, and military aid.
While the rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union was the driving force behind the
two powers interests in the Middle East, both had their own specific agendas, which need to be
realized before focusing in on the rivalry itself. The Soviet Union had major

Database Management And Information Structure Essay
A customized website:
As a new business it is essential for us to make an identity in the market and since there already
are a few competitors using clone scripts on their websites, which is a generic web platform. Our
focus is to invest in a customized web ordering platform, which will help us build a unique
identity and give us originality. It will be a good start to kick off with a unique, secure and a
feature rich website that gets people to trust you.
Social media friendly and SEO:
Database management and information structure on our website will be built very strong with
our web development team so that any search engine giving us more visibility can easily read our
data. Our competitors, both Food ninja and Menu log are currently using a flash based platform,
which is not a right extension for SEO, as the SEO cannot identify a flash platform. This is going
to give us a strong strategic upper hand in reaching out to people by having more visibility.
Creating a larger database:
We will be creating an exhaustive database of restaurants in wellington by partnering with them,
even the ones who are not keen, we will work on a temporary strategic alliance to show them our
reach and eventually get them on board permanently and get them to generate business from our
website. By this we will be getting a full fledged menu of each restaurant with their contact
details. For this we will also be requiring a huge web space and that will be worked out with our

Substance Dualism Analysis
Most famously advocated by RenГ© Descartes, substance dualism is an intuitive doctrine holding
that minds, which are essentially thinking and consist of mental substance, and bodies, which
necessarily have extension and are made of material substance, are ontologically separate entities.
As the mental and material have entirely different natures, a mindcannot be equivalent to a body
and human beings, therefore, must be mixtures of the two substances. Despite lacking properties in
common, minds and bodies are connected through the capacity of each to causally affect the other
(Kim 34). However, regardless of how commonsensical and attractive this view may initially appear,
Descartes and subsequent dualists have all contended with a multitude of complications
surrounding mental causation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If conceiving of the mind as a substance independent of the physical substance of the body results
in the mind being causally secluded, then the mind has no important explanatory role and there is
no compelling reason to be a substance dualist (50). In this paper I will first describe a few
strengths of dualism and explicate the pairing problem that is raised against it. Aferward, I will
evaluate the impact of Kim s objection and argue, ultimately, that mental substance cannot feasibly
be connected to material substance in the way necessary for causal interaction without appeal to
location within

DPN Case Study
Management Management of DPN can be classified into two strategies: Etiopathogenetic
treatments which target the underlying causes to prevent any further nerve fiber damage and
pharmacological treatments to alleviate the painful symptoms of PDN and normalize physical and
psychological functioning.
Etiopathogenic treatment:
The glycemic control: several studies showed that intensive glycemic therapy can result in a
statistically insignificant reduction in the development of neuropathy. (Callaghan BC, et al 2012)
Support for a positive effect of intensive treatment comes from the United Kingdom Prospective

Although many studies suggest the similarity in the effectiveness of these agents, only Pregabalin
and duloxetine have approved for the treatment of neuropathic pain in diabetic patients by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Health Canada, and the European Medicines Agency. (Pop
Busui Rodica, et al 2017)
Also, the tapentadol, which is a novel centrally acting opioid has regulatory approval in the U.S.
and Canada, but the evidence of its effectiveness in reducing neuropathic pain is weaker
(Finnerup NB, et al 2015). Therefore, due to the high risk for addiction and safety concerns vs the
relatively modest pain reduction, the use of tapentadol extended release is not suggested as first or
second line drug. (Pop Busui Rodica, et al 2017)
In the United Kingdom, NICE clinical guidelines recommend duloxetine as the first line treatment
for patients with DPN. If contra indicated, this drug may be replaced with amitriptyline. Second line
treatment consists of amitriptyline or pregabalin. The latter agent may be used alone or in
combination with either amitriptyline or duloxetine. If

Argumentative Essay On Korean War
Pre World War III: Korean War
In this seemingly peaceful world, the Korean Peninsula has been seen as one of the hottest potatoes
in the world. Many people do not acknowledge that the Korean War has not ended, but the event
settled with just an armistice since the tension of the war became so intense between not only two
Koreans, but other major countries such as Russia, China, and the United States. Even an armistice
of the war, there still remains severe tensions in the Korean Peninsula and because of this, questions
like why Korea has been the only divided country in the world and what has increased the tension
between two Koreans have been brought up to historians. And to the answers to the questions about

Financial Statement For A Company s Core Business
1. by having a Good Operating Margin which is a margin ratio used in measuring a company s
pricing strategy and operating efficiency. Thus the operating margin. Measures your operating
profitability, it indicates how much of each dollar of revenues used is left over after both costs
of goods sold and operating expenses are considered. Operating margins are important because
they measure efficiency. The higher the operating margin, the more profitable a company s core
business is. for example I Created a Mock report Called Dean s Report I report the following
Numbers on my Financial statement for my Event I held.
Net Sales: $1,000,000
Cost of Goods Sold: $700,000
Rent: $20,000
Wages: $100,000
Other Operating Expenses: $50,000
Net sales all operating expenses = 530,000
Then Create a Formula Similar to this
Operating margin .53 = 530,000 operating income______________________Net sales 1,000,000
As you can see, Dean s operating income is $530,000 (Net sales all operating expenses). According
to the formula used, Dean s operating margin is .53. This means that 57 cents on every dollar of
sales is used to pay for variable costs. Only 53 cents remains to cover all non operating expenses or
fixed costs.
2. Working Capital Ratio
The working capital ratio, also called the current ratio. Is a liquidity ratio that measures a firm s
ability to pay off its current liabilities. For example financial obligation, with their current assets.

Abolition Essay
Abolition
A Stronger Resistance The abolitionist movement in the United States sought to eradicate slavery
using a wide range of tactics and organizations. The antislavery movement mobilized many African
Americans and some whites who sought to end the institution of slavery. Although both black and
white abolitionists often worked together, the relationship between them was intricate. The struggle
for black abolitionists was much more personal because they wanted to end slavery and also
wanted to gain equal rights for blacks. However, many white abolitionists only sought to end slavery
and did not fight for equality for blacks. From these exceedingly contrasting perspectives and the
continuation of slavery, the sentiment of many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More militant tactics, such as uprising and revolts, were gaining support in the nineteenth century.
Nat Turner was a black abolitionist that supported the use of aggressive and forceful tactics. In
1831, in Virginia, he led an insurrection and more than 55 white people were killed. It was very
bloody and violent and angered many whites from its brutality (Nash, 275). Yet, many blacks felt
that the only thing that would get a response was an uprising and taking drastic measures. In
Christiana, Pennsylvania, the Fugitive Slave Laws were passed. These laws stated that whites
could recapture their runaway slaves. Blacks were outraged by the passing of these laws and
rioted in response to this (Roots of Resistance). This demonstrated how blacks would react in
manners that were more forceful and these tactics were used by a number of other abolitionists,
however, many still used different approaches to battling slavery. Many abolitionists used
writing to end slavery. In 1827, the first black newspaper, Freedom s Journal, was created by
Samuel Cornish and John Russwurm (Notes, 11/29/00). This paper spread ideas of freedom
and equality and gave hope to the black readers. David Walker, the son of a free black mother
and a slave father, pushed the abolitionist movement into militancy in 1829 when he published
David Walker s Appeal. His work inspired blacks to organize and urged slaves to rise up against
their masters and take their freedom by force (Notes, 11/27/00).

Narrator s Role in Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby and Kerouac s On The Road
Over the last fifty years, since the release of On The Road in 1957, it has not been uncommon for
critics to draw parallels between
Kerouac s semi autobiographical novel and Fitzgerald s The Great
Gatsby, released thirty two years previously. It is for certain that both the novels share many similar
traits, both examine concepts of
American ideals and The American Dream, both are heavily influenced by the jazz age of the time,
but nothing binds the novels closer to one another than the authors use of the first person narrative
and that narrators relationship with their leading character.
It is perhaps the most common reading to see both Jay Gatsby ... Show more content on

Nick is told of Gatsby s shady underworld connections and unhealthy obsession with a youthful
love affair, whilst Sal is aware of Dean s unstable background which saw him in and out of young
offender units as well as knowing that he is one driven by his lust for both sex and drugs. It is left
to A. E. Dyson to explain why Nick allows himself to be won over by such a character,
[Nick Caraway s] conscious moral instinct is to disapprove [of
Gatsby]: but his imagination is fascinated since perhaps here, in this extraordinary man, the
romantic promise is at last fulfilled.
With this, Dyson is suggesting that Nick is just far too captivated by
Gatsby and the world surrounding him, everything that makes him
great , to disapprove of him.
Sal s reaction to Dean is much more straight forward. It is revealed that Sal has always had an
appetite for adventure and he states that it had always been his intention to travel America but has
never experienced the guiding force to make him do it, it is easy to see from this why Sal is so
mesmerised to his hero, whose enthusiasm not only drives himself but those around him. This is a
sentiment picked up on by O. Swartz,
Dean is the novel. Sal could spend his entire life travelling across the country, but without Dean, the
travel could not be a transcendence. This is perhaps highlighted by the fact that Dean spends a lot
of time driving Sal about the

  • 3. The Opposition Of Quebec Separatism In recent elections, the separatist parties in Quebec have seen crushing defeats, raising questions about their relevance in modern day Canada. Support for Quebec separatism has diminished in the past several decades, with the rise of the NDP in the 2011 federal election and the more recent provincial Liberal victory in April of 2014. In the 2011 federal election, specifically, the Bloc Quebecois was reduced to only four seats in the House of Commons, while the NDP took the majority of Quebecs seats. The provincial Parti Quebecois (PQ) has also been faltering, losing more often than not to the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ). Indeed, over the past decade, the PLQ has only lost one election, and has held majorities in many. The most recent election put them back into power after a short PQ minority government that began in 2012. These recent elections may point to a future in which the separatist movement in Quebec may be silenced. Since the late 1950s, the question of Quebec separatism has existed, with levels of support varying throughout the following decades, leading up the referendums of 1980 and 1995. The defeats suffered by the separatist parties in recent elections demonstrate that the separatist movement may be close to being over in Quebec. The history of Quebec within Canada has been problematic since the very beginnings of Canada. The clash of the culture of the French and English speaking Canadians has created tensions in Canada since the British took over in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Events That Lead To The American Revolution Essay The Events That Lead to the American Revolution In 1776 and the preceding years there was great unrest in the English colonies of the New World. This war, known as the American Revolution, lead to the making of the United States. There were many events that led to The American Revolution. One of which was The Great Awakening, a time of religious revival and return to the Puritan Church. Similarly, The Enlightenment, which was period of using logic and reasonable thinking was a cause of the R. In addition to The Great Awakening and The Enlightenment, the French and Indian war was another cause of The Revolutionary War. The French and Indian War was a war fought by the British against French who allied with the Natives. • 5. Dangerous Liaisons By Pierre Ambroise Laclos It is true that in the old times women did not have equal rights as men. Men had more social and political freedom comparing to women, and the system was organized on men. It took a really long time for women to gain at least some equality. In the book Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Ambroise Laclos there are many examples of women having much less rights comparing to men in the 18th century. Back then, women simply couldn t do what men could simply because they were women and they weren t considered as powerful as men were. Women had to do more things in order for them to do the same things as men. For example, if women wanted to have an affair it had to be kept secret and no one was supposed to find out about it, because if someone did find... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So the author can also hide Cecile s true feeling because she doesn t want everyone to know that she was raped. This would make her life in the future miserable, because none of the men would want to marry her, since back then men wanted to have pure wives. Another part of this argument is that Valmont said that since he had the key to Cecile s room, people would believe him rather then her. Cecile states that in the letter to Madame de Merteuil: ...he was careful to tell me that, if anyone came, he would know how to put all the blame on me; and, indeed, it was very easy, because of the key. (letter 97, page 148). That could be true the people would believe Valmont rather than Cecile because of the key, but Cecile could have also brought up that she gave him the key because she wanted him to bring the letters from Danceny, since Cecile s mother already knew that Cecile was writing to Danceny before. This could have saved her from the rape from Valmont. But because she didn t not do that, I do not believe that the scene with Valmont seduction of Cecile, could be considered as rape. This can also be showed how women had much less rights because people were more likely believe Valmont rather than Cecile if something was to come up about that seduction. Cecile wasn t able to share it with anyone except for Madame de Merteuil because she knew she basically had no rights and her life would be over. On the other hand Valmont was happy to share that he had an affair with Cecile because it was an accomplishment for him, even though it was not as big as his usual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay On Pros For Conscientious Objectors In 1945, the Korean peninsular was divided into two Koreas: South and North Korea. The geographical division turned into the ideological collision: democracy versus communism. Because of the tension along the border between South and North Korea, national security has become a significant issue , and mandatory military service continues to take precedence over individual human rights (Choi 133). Specifically, not only the Korean Ministry of Defense, but also the public in South Koreahave opposed to implement the alternatives for conscientious objectors because of the concerns: the need for equal treatment in military service and the fear that providing an exception will result in the decline of military strength and national security (Choi 135 36). In this sense, the conscientious objectors were criticized as being no more than unpatriotic deviants who ignore the serious military tension and refuse to fight against the communist North (Cho 194). Evidently, the national sentiment has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Oh Tae Yang refused to military service with the belief of pacifism (Cho 195). A number of pacifist, human rights activists, and lawyers conducted discussions to request that the government recognize the conscientious objection as a human right, and establish alternative service for the objectors in place of the military service (Cho 195). In 2004, twenty two Congressmen submitted a draft of the Military Service Act, which included provisions for alternative service for conscientious objectors , and in 2005, the National Human Rights Commission made a recommendation to establish an alternative service system (Cho 195, 197). • 8. The Client Of A Mental Health Facility The Client s Right To Die A client that has expressed he has been suffering from severe bipolar disorder and his quality of life is so compromised by his illness that he logically and rationally chooses suicide, should be involuntary admitted to a mental health facility. As a counselor for the client it is ethically necessary to try to minimize harm where it is foreseeable and unavoidable (3.04, American Psychological Association, 2002). Subsequently, petitioning to have the client admitted to a mental health facility will serve as a means of trying to minimize harm to the client. According to Illinois law the client is a candidate for involuntary admission to a mental health facility because due to his illness he is reasonably expected to engage in dangerous conduct which places him in harm (405 ILCS 5/1 119). According to Illinois law, as a counselor of at least 18 years of age for the client and who has direct knowledge of the client s desire to harm himself, I would present a petition for admittance to a mental facility to the facility director (405 ILCS 5/3 601). The petition would include the descriptions of client s symptoms of bi polar disorder such as his reports of terrifying and tormenting episodes of depressive psychosis as well as his feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. Most important, the petition would also include his announcement that he has decided to commit suicide, rather than fight his recurrent mental illness. In addition to the reasons ... Genetic Engineering In Margaret Atwood s Oryx And Crake Margaret Atwood s Oryx and Crake characterizes the world after an uncontrolled experiment causing near total destruction of all human kind. In the eyes of Snowman, also known as Jimmy, we witness his journeys back and forth between the reminiscences of the past and the present. The major calamities slowly make its transition as it all began in the hands of man who believed in the works of biotechnology, as a ground breaking vitality to humanity, only to be destroyed by their own creations and conceptions. Similar to reality, biotechnology took off as it began cross breeding and modifying produce the creators desired genetically modified organisms, also known as GMOs. • 12. The History of and Issues surrounding the Same-Sex... Same sex marriage is one of the leading political topics in the United States today. There is an ongoing dispute pertaining to the legalization of same sex marriages. America has shifted its head to focusing on supporting same sex marriage or not. Many are for and against this topic but there has been no settlement for it yet. Homosexuals want to marry for the same reason that heterosexuals have and there should be no reason why they are not allowed to. There is some history behind this topic but there has yet to be a solution. During World War II and well after that brought many different social and political changes to the United States of America. One of the major changes was the discovery of homosexuality. Then on June third of the same year John Lynch, the New Hampshire governor, signed a legislation allowing same sex marriage. This makes New Hampshire the sixth state in the nation to allow same sex marriage. In this same year President Obama signs a referendum allowing same sex partners to receive benefits through federal employees. Homosexuals should be able to be legally married in all the United States due to the fact that their spouses will be able to get benefits, able to make medical decisions if need be, and get property inheritance. Even though people believe that civil unions and domestic partnerships are an alternative to marriage they are wrong. There should be no reason why same sex couples cannot get married in any place in the United States. The states that do not allow same sex marriage are severely hurting same sex couples because they are the ones that have to pay when it comes to medical decisions, employee benefits, and even adopting children. People do not know this side of the same sex marriage issue and that is what they need to pay more attention to. Drugs and surgery are not necessary for someone to heal from treatments which can lead to proper blood flow to the nerve system and help the body to recover quickly. Chiropractic treatment can be simple as a back adjustment, neck adjustment or even a shoulder adjustment to figure out the pain or the injury. The good thing about chiropractic care is that the body can heal itself, and there is no need for prescription drugs. D.D Palmer stated that Many patients imagine that they have tried everything. True, they have used many remedies, but they have never had the cause of their infirmity adjusted (Pruden). The mistake must significantly change what you have to do under the contract, almost to the point where it s an entirely different agreement. If, for example, someone was contacted to dig a whole in someone s backyard but after the contract had been signed both parties had found out that under a thin layer of dirt was solid rock, a mutual mistake of fact could make the contract void since neither party knew of the rock under the surface. If a mutual mistake defense was not possible then the person contracted to dig the whole would have to dig the whole under any circumstance and run the risk of destroying their equipment and/or having to spend more money for equipment capable of doing the job. In the case of John Harlty neither party acted unethically. This would make it a unilateral mistake of fact because the salesperson had a reason to know of the mistake and it was his fault that led to the mistake (Emanuel, 2011). For one thousand years beforehand, the English and the French had many disagreements, wars, and conflicts that created a lot of tension between the two nations. But forty years after the Entente established a friendship between the two countries, England and France fought two major wars as very close allies. The main reason that the Entente Cordiale was signed in the first place was that England and France were having conflicts over land in Africa. Yet the agreement was so monumental in nature that it completely changed Anglo Franco relations for over one hundred years to come. It caused the two countries that had previously hated each other to fight on the same side of two wars and cheer each other on. It changed public opinion and foreign policy between the two nations. The elevation of Little Bluestem Dry Mesic varies significantly. It reaches from almost as low as 1290 feet up to 1335 feet (Keane, 2015). Due to this variance in elevation, there is slightly more of a difference in soilqualities from higher to lower. The primary soil type present is Benfield with some Dwight Irwin Complex occurring in the lowest elevations (USDA, 2015). The Benfield soil in this ecosystem is still relatively shallow with the A Horizon reaching a depth of 10 feet and the next horizon, Bt1 reaching only another 9 feet down. The parent material for Benfield is pedisediment over residuum weathered from shale, allowing for smaller clay particles to form.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The dominance of Little Bluestem extends down to the lowest boundaries of the ecosystem, indicating that the soil conditions do stay relatively consistent, despite the change in soil type. This allows Little Bluestem to again be the dominant plant species component. The drier qualities of the upper Benfield soil combine with the slightly moister qualities of the lower Dwight Irwin soil to give the Dry Mesic classification. These soil moisture content qualities, the location of this ecosystem along side slopes, and the consistent dominance of the Little Bluestem plant species allows this ecosystem to be classified as Little Bluestem Dry ... Moreover, the basis of a relationships lies on the principle that it is a shared give and take between two people. Yet, what happens in a society that has slowly eradicated a person s ability to question their surroundings and communication has been dumbed down to surface level discussions? Ultimately the basis of a relationship is undermined, since there is no true human connection. The ramifications of this ignorant lifestyle is articulated in Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451. He opined that aside from the economic motives upon which the partition was based, there was indeed, consideration of strategic and political motives as well. From his perspective, the political elites in Britain had no plan for Africa; instead they were promoting their own preferences in Asia which was aimed at defending the crucial stake in both India and the East (p. 366). Furthermore, the development of transportation was paramount to the Middle East war because it promoted the development of Africa transportation network which was used to transport bulky supplies from Congo Rivers, through Juba and Egypt (Hargreaves, 1988: 54). Certainly, there was no question of the strategic and commercial importance of Africa, Asia and the Middle Eastern territories to the Allied Powers prior to, and during, the Second World War. acquiring a colony which further lead to an empire was significant factor in proving the status and importance of a country (Chamberlain, 1985: p. 3). Yet, many blacks felt that the only thing that would get a response was an uprising and taking drastic measures. In Christiana, Pennsylvania, the Fugitive Slave Laws were passed. These laws stated that whites could recapture their runaway slaves. Blacks were outraged by the passing of these laws and rioted in response to this (Roots of Resistance).
