Satire Definition
Political communication uses different tools to convey the message to the audience. The use of
humour is one such tool for disseminating political news in an alternative way. Political humour is
intended to evoke amusement about governance of society. Political satire is a humour technique
widely used in political communication to express and ridicule the absurdities of its subjects in
order to affect or prevent changes (Kaid and Holtz Bacha, 2007).
The Oxford Dictionary defines satire as the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to
expose and criticise people s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics
and other topical issues. Satire is a manner that blends a censorious attitude with humour and wit for
humanity and the human condition. In modern times, the satire is used interchangeably with comedy
and parody to make the audience laugh at the events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nature of satires can be formal or indirect. The formal satire is of two types: Juvenlian and
Horatian. Juvenlian satire is angry, personal and bitter in nature and harshly targets the wrong
doers and corrupt political leaders in the society. Horatian satire, on the other hand, is more gentle,
tolerant and witty. It uses laughter to bring a positive change in the society (Ritgero, 2009).
Indirect satire does not address the readers in direct form. Indirect satires are usually fictional
narrative, in which the objects of the satire are characters who make themselves and their opinions
ridiculous or obnoxious by what they think, say, and do, and are sometimes made even more
ridiculous by the author s comments and the narrative style. Therefore, satires have the goal to
strike the evil and bring out the reality and advocate for changes in

William Wallace Braveheart Summary
William Braveheart Wallace Autobiography
Birth
My journey begins in a village in Renfrewshire, located in West Central Scotland, named
Elderslie. Born second to my parents; my father, laird of Elderslie, Malcolm Wallace and my
mother Margaret Crawford circa 1270 A.D. This is my story, the story of a rebel, a Scottish hero,
born William Wallace.
Conquest of Scotland
January 17th 1296, Scotland was conquered. The King of England, Edward I, conquered my
country. The power hungry leader then enforced harsh rules and laws forcing us to become his
prisoners. My anger flared against the English, I needed to gain Independence, to free my country.
Battle at Scone

We, the Scottish had made a resistance against English rule, and so retaliated against King Edward I
by attacking Dunbar. Unfortunately this resulted in an English victory, however this had forced
more Scottish to join the Rebellion.
The Rebellion begins
On the date of May 11th 1297, my anger burst in my thirst for freedom, I brutally murdered
William Heselrig, the English sheriff of Lanark. William Heselrig, he whom had executed my
mother earlier this month. This sparks the rebellion for Independence. I gained followers and
waged the war on the English. This event inspires Andrew De Morney to do the same.
The battle of Stirling Bridge
September 11th 1297, The English tried to invade Scotland, however Andre De Morney and I had
witnessed the English crossing Stirling Bridge. We then restrained our troops and battled against a
sizable amount of Englishmen (approximately 5,400 men) who had crossed the bridge. We
successfully attacked the English who had lost over 6,000 men in this battle, but we the Scott s
had unfortunately lost Andrew De Morney who died of his injuries. Another victory for Scotland, I
had obtained a reputation as a leader which made me a primary target for the

How Do the Makers of Trainspotting Depict British Youth...
Poison or Pearls, Reality or Fantasy? (Street 110): How do the makers of Trainspotting depict
British youth sub culture and what methods of filming do they use to communicate their message
in the surrealist way the film is famous for?
Trainspotting (1996) is a depiction of the squalid depravities and exploitative self interest that
characterises the everyday life of heroin addiction. (Petrie 90) Its realistic style, use of language
and unflinching portrayal of drug use was what first attracted me to look at it a bit closer. Based
on the novel by Irvine Welsh, it tells the story of a group of working class unemployed drug
addicts, focusing on their problems with heroin abuse, inability to get a job and family problems.

In 1950 Roman Jakobson introduced a theory concerned with the way that language and
communication is used. This is used in film to convey a message to the audience. His system is that
the `addresser sends a message to the `addressee , and the dominant function of the message
determines the meaning. The various forms that the function can take are; Referential; Emotive;
Conative; Phatic; Metalingual and Poetic. One of these functions will be dominant according to
Jakobson, thus playing a determining and shaping role with respect to the meaning of the message
the addresser sends to the addressee (Lothe 15). This is used in films such as Trainspotting in a way
that is not entirely obvious to the audience, as it is disguised by the narrative.

The Early 1990’S Were A Period Of Change For America.
America
The early 1990 s were a period of change for America. America was fresh off the ending of the
Cold War and had newly elected President Bill Clinton. This was the first Democratic president
since Jimmy Carter, who led from 1977 81. Americans voted for change and Bill Clinton brought
forth that message in his 1993 inaugural address. Bill Clintonstrongly and confidently addressed the
world on January 20, 1993. He called for a renewal of America through positive change and
increased responsibility amongst American citizens. Like any inaugural address, Bill Clinton
wanted to reassure the citizens of the United Stateswho voted for him; but, also wanted to gain
favorability amongst the rest of the citizens. He appealed to the ideals of... Show more content on

There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America. And so
today we pledge an end to the era of deadlock and drift, and a new season of American renewal has
begun. (lines 37 38)
Bill Clinton went on to talk in several paragraphs about the renewal of America. His focus was
directly on the economy and investing in American jobs. He said we must do what America
does best: offer more opportunity to all and demand more responsibility from all. He challenged
young Americans to a season of service. To bring his point across, Bill Clinton used the appeal
of ethos a great deal. He referred to past presidents and scripture. Thomas Jefferson believed that
to preserve the very foundations of our Nation, we would need dramatic change from time to
time. Well, my fellow Americans, this is our time. Let us embrace it. (lines 35 36) He s

Let us resolve to make our Government a place for what Franklin Roosevelt called bold,
persistent experimentation, a Government for our tomorrows, not our yesterdays. Let us give

Direct Fire Assets Helped Impacted The Battle Of Okinawa
Having in direct fire assets helped impacted the battle of Okinawa enormously. There were
dilemmas, troubles, and endeavors. This battle lead to the progression of our artillery. It educated
the military showing it is difficult to shoot, move, and communicate effectively when moving with
the fast pace of a battle. Throughout the 82 day battle they used marine air, artillery, mortars, and
naval gunfire. Artillery provided fires delaying, disrupting, and destroying the enemy proving
who the true king of battle is. The battle for Okinawa begin on 01Apr1945 and went until
22Jun1945. The capture of Okinawa was part of the plan to win the Far East war. The island of
Okinawa is a part of a group of islands at the southern end of Japan. The main focus for the
Americans were four airfields that were on the island that they wanted to control. The forces that
made up the American landing party were the III Amphibious Corps and XXIV Corps, making the
Tenth U.S. Army under the command of Lieutenant General Simon Bolivar Buckner Jr. American
forces had not been able to gather very much intelligence about the island which made it difficult
to determine how many enemy forces there were. There were over 130,000 Japanese troops
waiting on the island. There were over 450,000 civilians which made operations harder for
American forces. The enemy forces where mainly down in the southern sector of the island waiting

The Military Professional Identity Is Defined Differently...
As Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy, we are in the developmental phase on our
way to become the future leaders defined as military professionals. The military professional
identity is defined differently by everyone. I believe for one to embody the military professional
identity, he or she has to be a leader of character and ready to defend the nation. The four years
spent at the Naval Academy gives you the opportunity to develop and mold your physical,
mental, and moral stature in order to embody the military professional identity that one desires
or believes is right. I believe that one s character is partially developed based on their core
values. I personally embody core values such as dependability, honesty, and commitment. There
are other core values that I would say are necessary in order to fit the identity as a military
professional, but those three values are the ones that define me as a future leader in the military. A
leader should be dependable at least. As a leader in the military, you constantly will have
subordinates who are facing trials and tribulations in which they will need a leader that they can
trust and depend on. That follows right into my next core value that is honesty. Being honest is the
only way to really earn someone s trust. An individual will only follow in an environment where he
or she knows that the one leading them is consistently honest. This environment would include a
leader that refrains from deception by lying or

The Demand And Supply Analysis
Introduction: The most important tool in microeconomics is the demand and supply analysis.
Demand refers to the amount of the product which is desired by the purchaser at a certain price
level where as the supply of the product represents the amount of quantity that is supplied in the
market at a certain level of price. There are different factors on which demand is dependent.
Apart from the price of the product, the demand depends upon the income, the number of
consumers, preferences of the consumers and income of the consumers. The supply of the
product depends upon the price of the product, future expectation of the prices and price of the
factors of production (Colander 2013). Resources availability is limited in the country so there
is a need to observe the demand and supply so that the resources are not exhausted. The demand
and supply mechanism is analyzed before getting into a detailed discussion upon the demand and
supply of human resources and iron ore resources in the Australian economy. Several newspaper
articles has been collected showing the demand for the skills in the state of Queensland and the
supply iron ore has dropped in respect of the increase in global supply more than the demand.
Mechanism of Demand and Supply: When the other factors, which are seen to affect the demand
for the product is constant then a rise in the price of the product, will lead to fall and when there is
fall in the prices then there will be an increase in the demand. There is

What Makes An Elite Athlete Become Highly Competent And...
Ever since the creation of the ancient Olympic Games, held in Olympia, Greece, in the 8th century
BC, there has been athletic competition between different nations, groups, tribes, and individuals.
Today, elite athletes participate in a wide variety of athletic pursuits, competing in differing events
throughout the world. What makes an elite athlete become highly competent and possess a higher
level of performance than other individuals? This is the essential question that has driven multiple
specialists to explore individual s athletic ability thru a look into the genetic disposition of those

The first real evidence of genetics role upon athletic performance came with the publication of the
human genome project. Once the human genome had been completely mapped out this allowed
researchers to finally have a starting point to locate and identify individual genes that could be
then attributed to an individual s success as an athlete. The Human Gene Map for Performance
and Health Related Fitness Phenotypes: The 2006 2007 Update, published and updated by Molly
S. Bray, James M. Hagberg, Louis Perusse, Tuomo Rankinen, Stephen M. Roth, Bernd Wolfarth,
and Claude Bouchard was an update of the human gene map for physical performance and health
related fitness phenotypes that covers the research advances that were reported during the years of
2006 and 2007. The genes and markers with evidence of association or linkage with a performance
or a fitness phenotype in sedentary or active people, in responses to acute exercise, or for training
induced adaptations are positioned on the map of all autosomes and sex chromosomes. The
individuals for these studies came from a wide background in order to have a better study for
results on a broad spectrum. This fitness and performance map currently includes two hundred and
fourteen autosomal gene entries and quantitative trait loci plus seven others on the X chromosome,

Diagnosis Of Disease Of A Patient
The first step in correct diagnosis of disease of a patient is to know his medical history. Physician
should carefully ask patient information about his/her symptoms such as the onset, duration, and
possible relief. The next step is physical examination of the patient. After listening to the patient s
description of the history of the symptoms, physicians generally conduct a physical examination.
Inspection, Palpation, Percussion and Auscultation are the four components of physical
examination. In general inspection, physician examines general body posture and proportion of the
patient and then site of injury is inspected locally. After inspection, physician uses his/her hands
and fingers to feel the body of the patient to know the body temperature as well as to feel
underlying parts of body of the patient. This procedure is known as palpation. After palpation,
physician taps body parts to get information about density of tissues and this is known as
percussion. Finally, Auscultation is listening to body sounds with the help of stethoscope.

My Assumptions Regarding Educational Facilities
Chicano Studies
Question #1
There are a lot of ideas and concepts that have caused me to rethink my assumptions regarding
educational facilities as well as the teaching processes. I must admit that I have gained an extreme
amount of knowledge in a lot of areas from the courses readings and the different lectures. I have
become aware of the leaks that affect the education system. The statistics from the Chicano students
were quite expected. Before, I thought that the number of kids in school would increase they will
notice the importance of these educational centers. The statistics show that only a few of the
admitted students will manage to graduate a degree. Solorzano and Yasso clearly brought up the
conditions that tend to affect the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ability to distribute teachers based on race is quite degrading. Some of the teachers in the
Chicano schools lack basic training in multicultural and bilingual education. This information
explains why Chicano students are under enrolled in institutions of higher learning.
I have also learned that some schools tend to divert from their original objectives which are rather
unfortunate. The educational institutions have failed to address the structural inequalities
effectively. A lot of schools still rely on the high stakes assessments and standardized curriculum.
These teaching methods are likely to spread less knowledge to the students. I can conclude that
some of the teaching processes in the Chicano schools are to blame for the poor performance of
students. The findings from the two authors also explain why only a few students manage to
graduate with degrees. From the readings, I have noted that schools have learning environments
that differ. They also impact the performance of children directly. Poor access to financial
resources, qualified teachers, and other support services is likely to guarantee the students failure.
The racial climate also affects schools and makes the children think of themselves as lesser beings.
Schools should be open to change instead of been isolated from the outside world. The policy
recommendation from Yasso and Solorzano were also quite informed and can help improve the
performance of schools.

For the purposes of this paper, alternative music culture while has a wide definition will be
focused on the music culture that was evident in Los Angeles between about 1985 until it
became more mainstream in 1991. This centre of the culture in LA is important because most of
the important record companies were and still are, based out of LA, since there was this centre
of culture decision makers it s not surprising that the city became a hot spot for musicians who
wanted to become recognized. Also important is the sheer size of LA itself, any time you get a
city as large as it is you get a wide variety of people living in a smaller area, communities come
together and form various subgroups. One subgroup evident in LA at this time was those who fell
outside the dominate music groups of the time, mainly, new wave, hip hop and hair metal (Mullen
2005). This subgroup was as varied as those who did not fall under the alternative heading,
musically they could prescribe to anything from the funk roots of the Red Hot Chili Peppers to the
70 s influenced rock of Jane s Addiction.
More importantly the people who fell under the alternative culture felt like their voices were not
being heard in the music that dominated the air waves at the time. It can be hypothesized that the
alternative music culture in LA grew out of a rejection of the hyper masculine, misogynistic values
of the hair metal scene that dominated LA and popular music culture for much of the 80 s. A

Giving the guests an option to download the map of the theme park will lessen the amount of

sustainable is by hiring local chefs in order for them to cook local cuisines and menus, so that their
food can consist of locally attained products and contain local culture. This will also promote the
hiring of local people increasing the local economy and creating a sustainable multiplier factor
which will benefit all the tourism in sector within the theme park such as the hotels, retails in city

do is creating an animal sanctuary just as Disney World has created. Since Universal Studios has
a live show of animals called Animal Actors those animals could be kept at a nearby animal
sanctuary when they are not performing. This will give visitors the peace of mind they need when
it comes to concerns about the wellbeing of these animal actors. It will also serve to help the

will create social capital among the visitors with other guests which will make the theme park a

Analysis Of Primo Levi s The Gray Zone
Primo Levi s book, Survival in Auschwitz, examines how a select few managed to survive the
inhumane and brutal treatment of the Jews in Auschwitz. The well known Italian Holocaust
survivor, Primo Levi was only 24 years old, when he was captured and taken to a detention camp
in Fossoli, before spending eleven months in Auschwitz. He, like so many other innocent Jews,
was sent to die in the death camp but with a little bit luck and resourcefulness, he survived. In his

director of an important factory chemical product and its name was (and is) well known in
industrial circles throughout Europe (Levi 93). Primo Levi wants to make it clear to the reader
that, for Alfred to reach the highest position of director and be able to survive the camps he had

Entrepreneurship And The Industrial Design Industry
Entrepreneurship in the Industrial Design Industry
Entrepreneurship
This research report will explore the key issues of entrepreneurship in the industrial design industry,
specifically zoning in on the furniture design sector. The Collins English Dictionary gives the
definition of an entrepreneur as; the owner or manager of a business enterprise who, by risk and
initiative, attempts to make profits. (Collins , 2011) This is extremely relevant in the product
design sector as money, time, labour and outsourcing of materials is needed to create prototype
products. Generally the time involved and costs of creating a one off piece of furniture are
exponentially greater in this stage of the design process than any other and can be the biggest
hurdle, which can make or break an idea or design.
Sourcing funding, access to materials and workshops and technological advancements in both
materials and computer animated design are a few of the significant issues that entrepreneurs face
when starting the development of a new product. The level of entrepreneurial activity in product
design industry is vast and branches off into many different facets, which does not just involve the
design of a new furniture piece or range but also into the import and export of original and replica
furniture and the expansion into other sectors in the design industry such as interior or object
design. With the use of internet blogs, website and social media platforms it has introduced the
opportunity

Therefore, there is a significant difference between the average scores of the test sample
compared to the benchmark with 98% confidence. In this case, the claim can be made that the test

most (3.25 2)/2 = 62.5% with 98% confidence.
SOLUTIONS, FIXES, EMBELLISHMENTS, AND IMPROVEMENTS
The main issues found in heuristics #7 and #8 are partially due to the lack of awareness found in
the RVCS. Specifically, the problems occur when one member of the group, denoted here as User
A , needs to make necessary changes to a particular artifact or document, only to find that another
group member, denoted here as User B , has checked the artifact or ... Show more content on

Moreover, upon checking the artifact back into the repository, User B can use the same comments
made at checkout, or discard the checkout comments and make more accurate comments at check
in time. Finally, the Mack Truck Theory and putting all the eggs in one basket are words of
warning and wisdom to be must be heeded. More than one manager should be given the RVCS
administrative passwords so that in the event of an emergency, the checked out state of an artifact
or document can easily be reversed and undone. Then the group member who originally owned the
lock can be notified of the emergency reversal of his or her checkout. With this software
embellishment, suggestion and best practice, the issue no longer impedes further progress from
being made. The worst case scenario is that task completion may be delayed, but less
significantly. As group members now know what changes are being made and how long it will
take to make them, more informed decisions can be made in a shorter time. Finally, these
proposed changes and best practices regarding the RVCS automatically address the issue found
the sixth heuristic. Although the project manager may find the task of accurately evaluating and
accessing one s productivity and proficiency using the RVCS a bit cumbersome, an
administrative feature can be added to the RVCS to address the issue. A report or database view

Essay On Biofilm Formation
Biofilms are communities of bacterial cells. Bacterial cells become much more antibiotic tolerant
by forming biofilms. Antibiotic resistance causes more than two million infections and 23,000
deaths in the United States every year. It is really urgent that we need to understand the biofilm
formation so that we can develop novel antibiotics. People have found out that there are some
signaling molecules, which are critical for biofilm formation. However, we do not know how the
distributions of signaling molecules determine individual cell fate during tolerance and persistence
development. Studying the spatial and temporal distributions of signaling molecules in single cell
level will help us understanding the mechanism of biofilm formation.... Show more content on

Spinach was discovered using the Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment
(SELEX) technique against DFHBI immobilized on agarose resin. People have developed
Spinach based sensors against adenosine, ADP, S adenosyl methionine (SAM), guanine, cyclic
di GMP (c di GMP) and GTP using existing aptamer sequences. A key challenge for RNA based
sensors is that they normally function poorly in cells. This is because RNA is easily degraded
by nuclease and also has poor folding in intracellular. Poor folding RNA can be contributed by
many elements, such as the difference folding structures and thermal instability, or rely on ion
concentration. Later people developed 49 nt long aptamer Broccoli, which has brighter green
fluorescence upon binding DFHBI. Folding of Broccoli only needs low concentration of
magnesium and the Mg2+ presents low amount in body so Broccoli can fold better than Spinach.
Broccoli also has a higher thermostability than Spinach. Additionally, Broccoli does not require a
tRNA scaffold to promote its folding in vivo. However, under cellular imaging conditions, Spinach
and Broccoli show greatly reduced fluorescence compared with nominal brightness. It has been
known that the fluorescence decrease of Spinachв€’DFHBI is not due to irreversible
photobleaching like GFP. It is caused by reversible conversion to a non fluorescent state and the
signal can be recovered

13th Century Russian Orthodox Church Analysis
The Orthodox Church has a very rich past in Russia going back to the 10th century when numerous
churches were constructed. Monasteries began to flourish in the 11th century. Besides being
devoted to spiritual work, these played also an important role in providing more formal education.
In the 13th century, the Russian Orthodox church shielded the population from the Tatar great
invasion that could have engulfed the Christian faith throughout Russia. Similarly, in the 14th
century, outstanding bishops helped to unite divided principalities, progressively strengthening an

Fieldwork Process Analysis
According to Williams and Menendez (2015) fieldwork process comprises of three factors that
create momentum; results oriented action, awareness of observations, and other practices to
generate new behaviors (p. 175). Although, fieldwork is a great strategy to create momentum it is
important not to assign excessive fieldwork to the client (Williams Menendez, 2015). The purpose
of fieldwork or homework is to produce affirmative energy (momentum) between the client and the
coach. Moreover, it maintains the client motivated, driven, and focus resulting in a positive attitude
helping the client achieving his/her goal.
As a future coach, I believe that helping clients keep the momentum throughout the coaching
process is vital to the success of the clients. Having and maintaining a proactive relationship with
the coach is possible at the beginning of each session every time the coach and client work

Beauty And Similes In Annie Dillard s Journey In Tinker Creek
When needing to retreat, Annie Dillard goes to Tinker Creek and immerses herself in nature.
During one of these trips, she has a snippet of a revelation, which makes her see beauty and
ugliness in harmony and see the world as meaningful; even though there is sorrow. In this
passage, Dillard uses the symbolism of a maple key and similes to explain its descend as
something beautiful, seeing the positive in the negative. When she is at Tinker Creek, she uses
words like lost, sunk which shows the lack of understanding as she looks towards Tinker
Mountain. All of a sudden, she sees what looks like a Martian spaceship . She uses a simile to
describe what she sees as otherworldly or magical because a Martian spaceship is not from this
world. She describes that it flashed borrowed light like a propeller . As the object is coming
down, it brings with it light or a revelation. She goes on to portray it as pirouetting and twirling ,
words which are often associated with ballet and are viewed by most people as beautiful. Her
experience with this beautiful, otherworldly object is a door that allows her to see this as part of
the beauty in the world.
When the object falls, she finds it in the grass and she later identifies it as a simple maple key.
Dillard identifies the key after describing her experience because she was unsure of what it was as
it was falling but knew after had fallen. The maple key, which usually is in pairs falls single. She
greets the maple with a simple

These ideas and systems threatened the balance of power which caused a major war to break out.

Socialism is the general term for the political and economic theory that advocates a system of
collective or government ownership and management of the means of production and
distribution of goods. In Russia socialism was creating many problems such as bad harvests,
industrial strikes and the war with Japan in 1904, leading to economic difficulties and
confidence in the Tsar faltering. In 1905 Father Gapon led a peaceful demonstration to see the
Tsar hoping to alleviate the pressures on the working class. However, troops opened fire on the
group and many were killed or wounded. This sparked off a revolution so the government made
concessions, the Tsar promised working hours to be reduced and a Duma was created to hear the
working class grievances.
Socialism threatened the balance of power as each country needs its people to believe in their
leader, they also need the working class to be productive. Russia s working class lost faith in the
Tsar after the Duma was dissolved and the promises made by the Tsar were broken.

Critical Analysis Of The Rocking Horse Winner
(A Critique of Rocking Horse Winner...) The author s work is known for its explorations of
human nature and illustrates the nature of materialism (Jones). Throughout life, we are
constantly developing who we are as people. As we grow, we grasp hold of things we wish to
portray ourselves with. In doing so, we create ourselves as humans. In this philosophy that has
been developed, we base how we are raised in order to develop who we become in the long run.
Over time, we receive knowledge pertaining to who we wish to become. In the story story The
Rocking Horse Winner written by D. H. Lawrence, we are taken to a questionable development of
humans in an equally disturbing adventure. In this short story, there are many messages that can be
traced throughout. In The Rocking Horse Winner by D. H. Lawrence, an immense amount of
attention is poured towards the focus of money. Today, who someone is depends drastically upon
the amount of money they have. Sadly, money determines who you are before you even realize it.
The same idea is developed into this story. An essay says, While his father is a hard worker, he
does not bring in enough money to satisfy the expensive tastes of the latter s wife. Because of this,
Paul s mother resents her husband and makes it clear that she wants more monetary benefits out of
life (Pierce). Although she may not realize it, Paul s mother is beginning to demand so much of her
husband that it not only wears out her husband, but continually rubs off onto Paul. Paul becomes so
bothered by the thought that his familyhas little to none money, and his only desire is to change
that feeling for his family. He begins to realize that he wants nothing but money for his family so
they can experience life in such a way that they are able to enjoy what they have and obtain more.
As Paul is growing up amid such an issue, he begins to realize that no matter what he is doing, he
is constantly being reminded that his family is destitute. He was looking so extraordinarily foolish
for no other reason but that he heard the secret whisper all over the house: There must be more
money (Page 1248). Given the circumstances, everything that Paul did reminded him subtly about
the family issue. Because of

The Cabin
The Cabin In the middle of nowhere, clear back on a dead end road in a tiny town called Outing,
there is a cabin. It is in Minnesota. When you picture a cabin in your head you think of a log
cabin built entirely of wood that has a big fireplace in the living room and deer heads hanging on
the walls. This cabin was different. It was a small, run down white house that my familyhas called
the cabin, way before I was born. It had a small fireplace in the living room that I have never
seen be used and dead, stuffed fish on plaques hanging on the wall from years ago. It had two
garages that were joined together with a door like an adjoining hotel room, but they were both
detached from the house. Down the street from the cabin there is a liquor and grocery store, a
post office, a gas station, and a small shop called Owls and Things. Owls and Things is a souvenir
shop, but they sell ice cream as well. Every day we were at the cabin our family would walk down
the street and get ice cream. It was by far the most favorite part of the day, not only because I
love ice cream, but because I loved looking through the glass at all of the different ice cream
flavor choices and pondering about which flavor I was going to pick that day. When I was
younger it just seemed so magical and exciting for me to go and get that ice cream.

Emerging From The Global Recession Of 1973-1975
Emerging from the global recession of 1973 1975, the resulting surge of neoliberalism transformed
the global economy into a secularized faith that draws on anxiety and responsibility for sustenance.
Debt answers to anxiety and allows for a greater participation in the economy, subsequently, debtors
become shackled to their indebtedness, which evolves into a continuous moral burden. The
relationship between credit and debthas developed into a necessary technique of governВment under
neoliberal regimes, as a means of securing order in an era that has seen a rapid growth of poverty
and inequality. Consequently, the conversion from Keynesianism to Neoliberalismrequired five
compulsory reforms: one, rollback of the welfare state to eliminate social safety nets, two, an attack
on the power of organized labor to stagnate wages, three, precarization of labor markets to incite
occupational anxiety, four, financialization of the economy to exacerbate income inequality and
finally fifth, exponential expansion of debt, which restrains debtors and holds the system together.
Therefore, Neoliberalism reorganized Keynesian capitalismto secure hegemony of finance capital, a
project of the wealth owning classes to reverse the impediments they had encountered during the era
of Keynesian social welfare.
Prior to the Great Depression, global economic policy had remained consistent since the 17th
century, laissez faire. Incidentally, in 1929, the stock market crash and the Great Depression

Mental Health Assessment
Social work plays a key role in the diagnosis, treatment and day to day living of individuals who
have a mental illness. The Australian Government Department of Health (2014) defines mental
illness as a health problem that significantly affects how a person feels, thinks, behaves, and
interacts with other people . The social workprofession has numerous dealings with this client base
through a multiplicity of practice contexts. It is therefore imperative that social workers have the

Edgar Allan Poe Impact
I have made no money. I am as poor now as ever I was in my life, was a quote from Edgar Allan
Poe. This quote can be applied to his career but also to both of his father s David Poe and John
Allen. Both men have left an scaring impact on Edgar s life. Even though, the men have had a
negative impact they have inspired many of his poems and have made him who he is which is
unquestionable. Poe s personality is dark and unhappy which has been blamed accordingly to the
men in his life. The men David Poe and John Allan have impacted his life by abandonment, money,
and not being loyal to him. During Edgar Allan Poes life men have had a negative lasting impact,
more specifically his father David Poe and his biological father John Allen have made

Liz Murray Thesis
Reaching the Top
Last year, there were 1,926 homeless students enrolled in public school,.. (Goldberg N.P.). In the
United States, many homeless children skip school and lose hope about improving their life.
One of those children decided to change their life and that person was called Liz Murray. Liz

homelessness. Thus, according to reporter Susan James, at the age of 19, Liz was motivating

Four Key Theories Of Organisational Culture
Organisational culture is the shared values, beliefs, assumptions and morals which govern the
behaviour of people in an organisation. This paper is focused on providing insight on four key
theories of organisational culture and the analysis on the differences and similarities exists between
the theories. This paper also aims at elaborating the importance and usefulness of these theories for
individuals and line managers.
Organisation Culture
Organisational Culture refers to a system where the employees of an organisation share same
assumptions, values, beliefs and certain practices (Lee, et al., 2008).These shared values bears
important implications on the employees as they provide guidelines for dressing, individual attitude
and actions that are related to their job performances. Every organisation maintains and builds its
own culture in order to provide guidelines to its employees for their behaviour and for maintaining
and sustaining status quo (Milne, 2007).
Analysis of the Theories

that have been developed by some researchers to describe various indicators of organisational
culture are as follows. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How far was the russo Japanese war responsible for the outbreak in Russia 1905?
The Russo Japanese war took place in 1904 to 1905 and began because of both Russia and
Japans desire to expand their borders into places such as Korea. During this war, Russia was
humiliated and had many defeats from a country which were considered to be inferior. The defeat
of this war humiliated the people of Russia and therefore lost confidence in Nicholas II. Russia s
defeat in the war also caused problems in the Military, economic and political problems. This then
means that the Russo Japanese war was partly responsible for the 1905 revolution.

If the Russian people were to turn away, they would have to look somewhere else. Many looked
towards political groups who were prepared to take action. The political implications of the Russo
Japanese war was a major cause of the 1905 Revolution as support left the Tsar and went to
political groups which many believed could take his place.
However, many people believe that the Russo Japanese was not the only cause for the outbreak
of the 1905 revolution. During this period, there were many growing political groups which
many believed would be better than the Tsar because of their more radical thinking. The Russians
mainly supported the Populists the Social Revolutionaries, the Social Democrats and the Liberals.
Throughout the years the groups were slowly providing more opposition to the Tsar and each
other. The most radical, and in some ways successful, group was the Social Revolutionaries (SR).
The SR was heavily against the Tsar and his regimes. They opposed by assassinating many
members of the government including the Minister of the Interior, Plehve in 1904 and Sergei. The
SR became hugely popular due to their radicalism and the fact they are getting closer to their goal
than many other political groups which lead to the public supporting them as opposed to the Tsar
causing the 1905 revolution.
Another big reason why the 1905 revolution was cause was Russia s lack of Political reform

Lean Management Is A Method Of Running A Business
According to (Rouse, 2013), lean management is a method of running a business that supports the
concept of constant improvement. Therefore, lean management is a long term approach to work
that thoroughly seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve
efficiency and quality. The theory was first established between 1948 and 1975 by Taiichi Ohnoand
Shigeo Shingo the two Japanese engineers (Arnheiter and Maleyeff, 2005). But the method was
initially found in the works of Henry Ford, who Ohno greatly appreciated and studied Ford
because of his accomplishments and the reduction of waste at early Ford assembly plants
(Arnheiter and Maleyeff, 2005). Thus Lean management eliminates all forms of waste, decreasing
errors, shrinking inventory and ordering or supplying parts just in time, therefore decreasing
warehousing costs. (Rand, 2013) identified the seven forms of waste, including waste in
unnecessary motion, over processing and transportation. Thus by doing this it will saves the
business money and allows workers to pay attention to more value creating activities. There are four
main principles of lean which are (Rouse, 2013) firstly defining the value from the perspective of
the end customer, identifying each steps in a business process and eliminating non value activities,
making the value creating steps occur in tight sequence and then finally repeating the first three
steps on a constantly basis until all the waste has been eliminated. The

Barbarian Invasions
Evidently, Barbarian invasions were the most significant factor in the downfall of the Western
Roman Empire predominantly because they weakened the empire and thus made it vulnerable to
other problems such as a poor economic situation and political weaknesses within the empire.
Barbarian invasions occurred frequently throughout the timeline yet one of the most significant
invasions was the sack of Rome in 410 AD by Alaric and the Visigothsbecause this was the first
time Rome was defeated in 800 years therefore signalling the beginning of the end of the Western
Roman Empire. The Visigoths has crossed the Rhine river and were looking for land to settle and
to be accepted within the empire and so Alaric decided to besiege Rome until the senate paid
him to leave. This resulted in Rome being sieged a total of 3 times before the gates to Rome
were opened from within and Rome was finally sacked. This was a massive shock to the empire
as it accentuated its weaknesses and the Visigoths looted places of aristocracy and killed Romans
who resisted and women were raped. This also drastically worsened the economic situation as
during the months in which Rome was under siege, people began to die of hunger with some even
resorting to cannibalism. This event is mimicked 45 years later in 455 AD by the Vandals
, led by
Genseric. The Vandals had already been causing trouble for the Roman Empire after they sacked
North Africa and captured Carthage in 439 AD which cut off the grain supply and

Postive Effects of Medieval Social Classes Essay
The development of social classes in medieval England affected life for the people in many positive
ways. It served as a means of organization to base their daily lives off of, and also gave the peasants
and trade classes protection from the rulers and the clergy class in return for their labor and
allegiance ( Quizlet ). Life in the Middle Ageswas based on the framework of social classes so they
could flourish socially and economically. The British class structure was a configuration of five
main classes. The King owned all the land and distributed portions of it to his nobles. He was part
of the ruling class, along with the Pope and the rest of the royalty (Pattie). The Pope was the

Monks were the scholars of this time period, and they spent the majority of their time praising
God and attending prayer meetings and church. The last group of people in the clergy class was
the nuns. They weren t as intellectual as the monks, so their jobs involved catering to the
people by nursing the sick to health in the infirmary, educating young children, and caring for
orphans (People of the Middle Ages ). The next group of people was in the middle class. They
were the citizens of the town, and they acquired high amounts of money so that their families
could live comfortable lives. The mothers in these households were not obligated to work
because the man of the house could financially support the whole family ( Middle Class ).
Sometimes they had servants to help the women with household chores and duties like cooking,
cleaning, and caring for the children. This class also included shipmen, cooks, and high class
merchants (Schwartz). Below the middle class was the trade class, which included merchants and
craftsmen. Men involved with retail would travel great distances to achieve authority and power
over certain trade routes ( Middle Ages: The Medieval Social Classes ). The trade class hugely
impacted the towns and the people because their income and trading skills helped to stabilize the
economy. Peasants and the middle class often disagreed with the work of the merchants because the
priests and the bishops were highly against it. They believed

Nitrates in groundwater have become a major issue around the world and have held people back
from drinking clean water. One of the many places being affected by this issue, is a city in the
state of Minnesota by the name, Cold Spring. The main issue for such high capacities of nitrate in
water is cropland agriculture. Cold Spring has had to forcefully shut down a couple of their city
wells due to these high levels of nitrate in their water, leaving the city with a very low capacity of
water to use, and drink. This issue has gotten very far, to the point that the safest level for drinking
wateris 10 milligrams. Drinking water that contains nitrates can be very harmful to the body and
can also develop syndromes in babies. It s not news that

Igbo Culture And Traditional Medicine
Medicine and health are essential in everyday living, but plunging into African medicine helps
discover the reasons for cultural ritual practices, society, and religion, resulting in a host of
information that provides a deep insight into African culture. According to many, African
traditional medicine represents the sum of the people s medicinal knowledge as well as beliefs,
skills, and practices used in diagnosing, preventing, or eliminating a physical, mental, or social
disequilibrium (Selin 679). This is especially true of the Igbo tribe in modern day southeast Nigeria.

As accounted by many, Traditional healers often act, in part, as an intermediary between the visible
and invisible worlds; between the living and the dead or ancestors, sometimes to determine which
spirits are at work and how to bring the sick person back into harmony with their ancestors
(Abdullahi В¶ 3). This provides the emotional and spiritual depth of traditional medical
practitioners, as they truly make an effort to connect patients to their community even if they are
severely ill (Abdullahi В¶ 3). Finally, the Igbo tribe held many secret societies, including instruction
in medicine, that held both secular and religious functions and allowed inducted community
members to learn about its origins ( Cults and Rituals 284). This further establishes their connection
of religion to medicine, as secret societies may teach medicine to members in a religious setting.
Therefore, when Igbo medical practitioners practiced medicine before colonization, they
incorporated many aspects of their religion, including, but not limited to, sorcery and divination, as
they have for many years.
Two main groups of people were allowed to practice medicine used in Igbo culture. There were
authorities, known as medicine men, who were known to practice sorcery among their patients;
only those who had a knowledge of medicine and pharmacology could practice sorcery ( Cults and
Rituals 286). In addition, the Dibia, referred to as

Archetypes In O Brother Where Art Thou
Throughout the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou, classic storytelling through archetypes is
reworked into a more modern time in order to create the unique gem that it is. Archetypes are a
general persona of a character that is repeated many times through films and literature, they define
the character and give meaning to their roles. Archetypes have been used ever since stories were
made, from the Odyssey to even Percy Jackson. Archetypes tend to set the stage for the story, and
get revealed throughout the story adding more life and energy to it. Three examples of archetypes
expressed very well through characters in the movie are the hero, the alter ego, and the temptress.
First off, every story has it s own hero, a larger than life character that often goes on some kind of
journey or quest while demonstrating specific qualities and abilities . This describes the hero of
O Brother, Where Art Thou, a man called Everett, very well. Everett is the guy who starts the
trio s whole adventure, a man on a mission. He tells the other guys that the mission is to get some
treasure, but in reality Everett is trying to get his wife and family back. Throughout their journey,
he is the obvious leader of the group; the other guys look up to him and follow him in whatever
he does in order to get to the treasure . Everett shows that he is a hero is when, after Delmar and
Pete find out that there is actually no treasure and he just needed to escape with them because they

Comparison Of First Love In Jane Austen s Persuasion
It is universally acknowledged that the memories of a first love linger throughout a lifetime
because they are so powerful and equally unforgettable. As a result of the experiences of a first
love, breaking up can be one of the most devastating feelings in the world. In Jane Austen s last
book titled Persuasion, Anne and Captain Wentworth enact a classic tale of first love. What is
unique about Anne and Captain Wentworth is that they did not fall out of love initially or even 8
years later. After eight years of separation, suffering, and suppressed feelings, upon seeing each
other again both Anne and Frederick display a series of behaviors that demonstrate their love isn t

Wentworth causing her to seek comfort of cool air for her flushed cheeks (46). This is significant
because this is the first time in several years that a Wentworth last name has even been referenced.
In response, Anne s cheeks flush and she seeks comfort in the cold because Captain Wentworth
makes her hot and uncomfortable. Although the person being referenced is not, in fact, Captain
Wentworth but his brother, Anne, after all these years, is still affected by the mention of the
Wentworth name. Like with any first lover, seeing them in public or hearing their name can cause
an unexpected stir of emotion and intertwined memories. Because Anne never fell out of love with
Captain Wentworth and her love for him was merely hidden away and never resolved, having him
in her life again is extremely overwhelming for her.
When Captain Wentworth finally arrives in Uppercross, Anne is overcome with love and actively
tries to make sense of what has changed since she last saw him, often leading to confusion and
contradiction. Anne and her family plan to visit Captain Wentworth, however, Anne stays behind to
take care of a young injured relative. She thinks that she knew herself to be of the first utility to
the child; and what was it to her, if Frederick Wentworth were only half a mile distant, making
himself agreeable to others! (110). Instead of focusing her attention on the young boy she instead

  • 2. Satire Definition Political communication uses different tools to convey the message to the audience. The use of humour is one such tool for disseminating political news in an alternative way. Political humour is intended to evoke amusement about governance of society. Political satire is a humour technique widely used in political communication to express and ridicule the absurdities of its subjects in order to affect or prevent changes (Kaid and Holtz Bacha, 2007). The Oxford Dictionary defines satire as the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticise people s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues. Satire is a manner that blends a censorious attitude with humour and wit for humanity and the human condition. In modern times, the satire is used interchangeably with comedy and parody to make the audience laugh at the events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The nature of satires can be formal or indirect. The formal satire is of two types: Juvenlian and Horatian. Juvenlian satire is angry, personal and bitter in nature and harshly targets the wrong doers and corrupt political leaders in the society. Horatian satire, on the other hand, is more gentle, tolerant and witty. It uses laughter to bring a positive change in the society (Ritgero, 2009). Indirect satire does not address the readers in direct form. Indirect satires are usually fictional narrative, in which the objects of the satire are characters who make themselves and their opinions ridiculous or obnoxious by what they think, say, and do, and are sometimes made even more ridiculous by the author s comments and the narrative style. Therefore, satires have the goal to strike the evil and bring out the reality and advocate for changes in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. William Wallace Braveheart Summary William Braveheart Wallace Autobiography Birth My journey begins in a village in Renfrewshire, located in West Central Scotland, named Elderslie. Born second to my parents; my father, laird of Elderslie, Malcolm Wallace and my mother Margaret Crawford circa 1270 A.D. This is my story, the story of a rebel, a Scottish hero, born William Wallace. Conquest of Scotland January 17th 1296, Scotland was conquered. The King of England, Edward I, conquered my country. The power hungry leader then enforced harsh rules and laws forcing us to become his prisoners. My anger flared against the English, I needed to gain Independence, to free my country. Battle at Scone It s June 23rd 1296, my rebels and I sacked Scone in this early battle of war. Andrew... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We, the Scottish had made a resistance against English rule, and so retaliated against King Edward I by attacking Dunbar. Unfortunately this resulted in an English victory, however this had forced more Scottish to join the Rebellion. The Rebellion begins On the date of May 11th 1297, my anger burst in my thirst for freedom, I brutally murdered William Heselrig, the English sheriff of Lanark. William Heselrig, he whom had executed my mother earlier this month. This sparks the rebellion for Independence. I gained followers and waged the war on the English. This event inspires Andrew De Morney to do the same. The battle of Stirling Bridge September 11th 1297, The English tried to invade Scotland, however Andre De Morney and I had witnessed the English crossing Stirling Bridge. We then restrained our troops and battled against a sizable amount of Englishmen (approximately 5,400 men) who had crossed the bridge. • 4. How Do the Makers of Trainspotting Depict British Youth... Poison or Pearls, Reality or Fantasy? (Street 110): How do the makers of Trainspotting depict British youth sub culture and what methods of filming do they use to communicate their message in the surrealist way the film is famous for? Trainspotting (1996) is a depiction of the squalid depravities and exploitative self interest that characterises the everyday life of heroin addiction. (Petrie 90) Its realistic style, use of language and unflinching portrayal of drug use was what first attracted me to look at it a bit closer. Based on the novel by Irvine Welsh, it tells the story of a group of working class unemployed drug addicts, focusing on their problems with heroin abuse, inability to get a job and family problems. Set in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1950 Roman Jakobson introduced a theory concerned with the way that language and communication is used. This is used in film to convey a message to the audience. His system is that the `addresser sends a message to the `addressee , and the dominant function of the message determines the meaning. The various forms that the function can take are; Referential; Emotive; Conative; Phatic; Metalingual and Poetic. One of these functions will be dominant according to Jakobson, thus playing a determining and shaping role with respect to the meaning of the message the addresser sends to the addressee (Lothe 15). This is used in films such as Trainspotting in a way that is not entirely obvious to the audience, as it is disguised by the narrative. The scene where Tommy takes them into the typical Scottish countryside for a walk, and Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) starts complaining about Scottish people, when Tommy says: Doesn t it make you proud to be Scottish? and Mark replies with: I hate being Scottish, we re the lowest of the fucking low, the scum of the earth, the most wretched, servile, miserable, pathetic trash that was ever shat into civilisation. Some people hate the English, but I don t. The English are wankers. We, on the other hand, are colonised by wankers. We can t even choose a decent race to be colonised by. • 5. The Early 1990’S Were A Period Of Change For America. America The early 1990 s were a period of change for America. America was fresh off the ending of the Cold War and had newly elected President Bill Clinton. This was the first Democratic president since Jimmy Carter, who led from 1977 81. Americans voted for change and Bill Clinton brought forth that message in his 1993 inaugural address. Bill Clintonstrongly and confidently addressed the world on January 20, 1993. He called for a renewal of America through positive change and increased responsibility amongst American citizens. Like any inaugural address, Bill Clinton wanted to reassure the citizens of the United Stateswho voted for him; but, also wanted to gain favorability amongst the rest of the citizens. He appealed to the ideals of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those hardships make the problems of today seem much easier to fix. There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America. And so today we pledge an end to the era of deadlock and drift, and a new season of American renewal has begun. (lines 37 38) Bill Clinton went on to talk in several paragraphs about the renewal of America. His focus was directly on the economy and investing in American jobs. He said we must do what America does best: offer more opportunity to all and demand more responsibility from all. He challenged young Americans to a season of service. To bring his point across, Bill Clinton used the appeal of ethos a great deal. He referred to past presidents and scripture. Thomas Jefferson believed that to preserve the very foundations of our Nation, we would need dramatic change from time to time. Well, my fellow Americans, this is our time. Let us embrace it. (lines 35 36) He s implying that a respected former president says change is good and needed, so why not now? Let us resolve to make our Government a place for what Franklin Roosevelt called bold, persistent experimentation, a Government for our tomorrows, not our yesterdays. Let us give this Capital back to the people to whom it belongs. (lines 57 58) The people are in charge again. • 6. Direct Fire Assets Helped Impacted The Battle Of Okinawa Having in direct fire assets helped impacted the battle of Okinawa enormously. There were dilemmas, troubles, and endeavors. This battle lead to the progression of our artillery. It educated the military showing it is difficult to shoot, move, and communicate effectively when moving with the fast pace of a battle. Throughout the 82 day battle they used marine air, artillery, mortars, and naval gunfire. Artillery provided fires delaying, disrupting, and destroying the enemy proving who the true king of battle is. The battle for Okinawa begin on 01Apr1945 and went until 22Jun1945. The capture of Okinawa was part of the plan to win the Far East war. The island of Okinawa is a part of a group of islands at the southern end of Japan. The main focus for the Americans were four airfields that were on the island that they wanted to control. The forces that made up the American landing party were the III Amphibious Corps and XXIV Corps, making the Tenth U.S. Army under the command of Lieutenant General Simon Bolivar Buckner Jr. American forces had not been able to gather very much intelligence about the island which made it difficult to determine how many enemy forces there were. There were over 130,000 Japanese troops waiting on the island. There were over 450,000 civilians which made operations harder for American forces. • 7. The Military Professional Identity Is Defined Differently... As Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy, we are in the developmental phase on our way to become the future leaders defined as military professionals. The military professional identity is defined differently by everyone. I believe for one to embody the military professional identity, he or she has to be a leader of character and ready to defend the nation. The four years spent at the Naval Academy gives you the opportunity to develop and mold your physical, mental, and moral stature in order to embody the military professional identity that one desires or believes is right. I believe that one s character is partially developed based on their core values. I personally embody core values such as dependability, honesty, and commitment. There are other core values that I would say are necessary in order to fit the identity as a military professional, but those three values are the ones that define me as a future leader in the military. A leader should be dependable at least. As a leader in the military, you constantly will have subordinates who are facing trials and tribulations in which they will need a leader that they can trust and depend on. That follows right into my next core value that is honesty. Being honest is the only way to really earn someone s trust. An individual will only follow in an environment where he or she knows that the one leading them is consistently honest. This environment would include a leader that refrains from deception by lying or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Demand And Supply Analysis Introduction: The most important tool in microeconomics is the demand and supply analysis. Demand refers to the amount of the product which is desired by the purchaser at a certain price level where as the supply of the product represents the amount of quantity that is supplied in the market at a certain level of price. There are different factors on which demand is dependent. Apart from the price of the product, the demand depends upon the income, the number of consumers, preferences of the consumers and income of the consumers. The supply of the product depends upon the price of the product, future expectation of the prices and price of the factors of production (Colander 2013). Resources availability is limited in the country so there is a need to observe the demand and supply so that the resources are not exhausted. The demand and supply mechanism is analyzed before getting into a detailed discussion upon the demand and supply of human resources and iron ore resources in the Australian economy. Several newspaper articles has been collected showing the demand for the skills in the state of Queensland and the supply iron ore has dropped in respect of the increase in global supply more than the demand. Mechanism of Demand and Supply: When the other factors, which are seen to affect the demand for the product is constant then a rise in the price of the product, will lead to fall and when there is fall in the prices then there will be an increase in the demand. Ever since the creation of the ancient Olympic Games, held in Olympia, Greece, in the 8th century BC, there has been athletic competition between different nations, groups, tribes, and individuals. Today, elite athletes participate in a wide variety of athletic pursuits, competing in differing events throughout the world. What makes an elite athlete become highly competent and possess a higher level of performance than other individuals? The first real evidence of genetics role upon athletic performance came with the publication of the human genome project. Once the human genome had been completely mapped out this allowed researchers to finally have a starting point to locate and identify individual genes that could be then attributed to an individual s success as an athlete. The Human Gene Map for Performance and Health Related Fitness Phenotypes: The 2006 2007 Update, published and updated by Molly S. Bray, James M. Hagberg, Louis Perusse, Tuomo Rankinen, Stephen M. Roth, Bernd Wolfarth, and Claude Bouchard was an update of the human gene map for physical performance and health related fitness phenotypes that covers the research advances that were reported during the years of 2006 and 2007. The genes and markers with evidence of association or linkage with a performance or a fitness phenotype in sedentary or active people, in responses to acute exercise, or for training induced adaptations are positioned on the map of all autosomes and sex chromosomes. The individuals for these studies came from a wide background in order to have a better study for results on a broad spectrum. Physician should carefully ask patient information about his/her symptoms such as the onset, duration, and possible relief. The next step is physical examination of the patient. After listening to the patient s description of the history of the symptoms, physicians generally conduct a physical examination. Inspection, Palpation, Percussion and Auscultation are the four components of physical examination. In general inspection, physician examines general body posture and proportion of the patient and then site of injury is inspected locally. After inspection, physician uses his/her hands and fingers to feel the body of the patient to know the body temperature as well as to feel underlying parts of body of the patient. This procedure is known as palpation. After palpation, physician taps body parts to get information about density of tissues and this is known as percussion. Finally, Auscultation is listening to body sounds with the help of stethoscope. The pressure of blood exerted on the walls of arteries is called arterial blood pressure or simply blood pressure. My Assumptions Regarding Educational Facilities Chicano Studies Question #1 There are a lot of ideas and concepts that have caused me to rethink my assumptions regarding educational facilities as well as the teaching processes. I must admit that I have gained an extreme amount of knowledge in a lot of areas from the courses readings and the different lectures. I have become aware of the leaks that affect the education system. The statistics from the Chicano students were quite expected. Before, I thought that the number of kids in school would increase they will notice the importance of these educational centers. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ability to distribute teachers based on race is quite degrading. Some of the teachers in the Chicano schools lack basic training in multicultural and bilingual education. This information explains why Chicano students are under enrolled in institutions of higher learning. I have also learned that some schools tend to divert from their original objectives which are rather unfortunate. The educational institutions have failed to address the structural inequalities effectively. A lot of schools still rely on the high stakes assessments and standardized curriculum. These teaching methods are likely to spread less knowledge to the students. I can conclude that some of the teaching processes in the Chicano schools are to blame for the poor performance of students. The findings from the two authors also explain why only a few students manage to graduate with degrees. From the readings, I have noted that schools have learning environments that differ. They also impact the performance of children directly. Poor access to financial resources, qualified teachers, and other support services is likely to guarantee the students failure. The racial climate also affects schools and makes the children think of themselves as lesser beings. Schools should be open to change instead of been isolated from the outside world. The policy recommendation from Yasso and Solorzano were also quite informed and can help improve the performance of schools. Question #2 I think the manner in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the purposes of this paper, alternative music culture while has a wide definition will be focused on the music culture that was evident in Los Angeles between about 1985 until it became more mainstream in 1991. This centre of the culture in LA is important because most of the important record companies were and still are, based out of LA, since there was this centre of culture decision makers it s not surprising that the city became a hot spot for musicians who wanted to become recognized. Also important is the sheer size of LA itself, any time you get a city as large as it is you get a wide variety of people living in a smaller area, communities come together and form various subgroups. One subgroup evident in LA at this time was those who fell outside the dominate music groups of the time, mainly, new wave, hip hop and hair metal (Mullen 2005). This subgroup was as varied as those who did not fall under the alternative heading, musically they could prescribe to anything from the funk roots of the Red Hot Chili Peppers to the 70 s influenced rock of Jane s Addiction. More importantly the people who fell under the alternative culture felt like their voices were not being heard in the music that dominated the air waves at the time. People have developed Spinach based sensors against adenosine, ADP, S adenosyl methionine (SAM), guanine, cyclic di GMP (c di GMP) and GTP using existing aptamer sequences. A key challenge for RNA based sensors is that they normally function poorly in cells. This is because RNA is easily degraded by nuclease and also has poor folding in intracellular. Poor folding RNA can be contributed by many elements, such as the difference folding structures and thermal instability, or rely on ion concentration. Later people developed 49 nt long aptamer Broccoli, which has brighter green fluorescence upon binding DFHBI. The author s work is known for its explorations of human nature and illustrates the nature of materialism (Jones). Throughout life, we are constantly developing who we are as people. As we grow, we grasp hold of things we wish to portray ourselves with. In doing so, we create ourselves as humans. In this philosophy that has been developed, we base how we are raised in order to develop who we become in the long run. Over time, we receive knowledge pertaining to who we wish to become. In the story story The Rocking Horse Winner written by D. H. Lawrence, we are taken to a questionable development of humans in an equally disturbing adventure. In this short story, there are many messages that can be traced throughout. In The Rocking Horse Winner by D. H. Lawrence, an immense amount of attention is poured towards the focus of money. Today, who someone is depends drastically upon the amount of money they have. Sadly, money determines who you are before you even realize it. The same idea is developed into this story. An essay says, While his father is a hard worker, he does not bring in enough money to satisfy the expensive tastes of the latter s wife. Because of this, Paul s mother resents her husband and makes it clear that she wants more monetary benefits out of life (Pierce). Although she may not realize it, Paul s mother is beginning to demand so much of her husband that it not only wears out her husband, but continually rubs off onto Paul. Paul becomes so bothered by the thought that his familyhas little to none money, and his only desire is to change that feeling for his family. As Paul is growing up amid such an issue, he begins to realize that no matter what he is doing, he is constantly being reminded that his family is destitute. He was looking so extraordinarily foolish for no other reason but that he heard the secret whisper all over the house: There must be more money (Page 1248). When you picture a cabin in your head you think of a log cabin built entirely of wood that has a big fireplace in the living room and deer heads hanging on the walls. This cabin was different. It was a small, run down white house that my familyhas called the cabin, way before I was born. It had a small fireplace in the living room that I have never seen be used and dead, stuffed fish on plaques hanging on the wall from years ago. It had two garages that were joined together with a door like an adjoining hotel room, but they were both detached from the house. Down the street from the cabin there is a liquor and grocery store, a post office, a gas station, and a small shop called Owls and Things. Owls and Things is a souvenir shop, but they sell ice cream as well. Every day we were at the cabin our family would walk down the street and get ice cream. It was by far the most favorite part of the day, not only because I love ice cream, but because I loved looking through the glass at all of the different ice cream flavor choices and pondering about which flavor I was going to pick that day. • 39. Emerging From The Global Recession Of 1973-1975 Emerging from the global recession of 1973 1975, the resulting surge of neoliberalism transformed the global economy into a secularized faith that draws on anxiety and responsibility for sustenance. Debt answers to anxiety and allows for a greater participation in the economy, subsequently, debtors become shackled to their indebtedness, which evolves into a continuous moral burden. The relationship between credit and debthas developed into a necessary technique of governВment under neoliberal regimes, as a means of securing order in an era that has seen a rapid growth of poverty and inequality. Consequently, the conversion from Keynesianism to Neoliberalismrequired five compulsory reforms: one, rollback of the welfare state to eliminate social safety nets, two, an attack on the power of organized labor to stagnate wages, three, precarization of labor markets to incite occupational anxiety, four, financialization of the economy to exacerbate income inequality and finally fifth, exponential expansion of debt, which restrains debtors and holds the system together. Therefore, Neoliberalism reorganized Keynesian capitalismto secure hegemony of finance capital, a project of the wealth owning classes to reverse the impediments they had encountered during the era of Keynesian social welfare. • 46. Lean Management Is A Method Of Running A Business According to (Rouse, 2013), lean management is a method of running a business that supports the concept of constant improvement. Therefore, lean management is a long term approach to work that thoroughly seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality. The theory was first established between 1948 and 1975 by Taiichi Ohnoand Shigeo Shingo the two Japanese engineers (Arnheiter and Maleyeff, 2005). But the method was initially found in the works of Henry Ford, who Ohno greatly appreciated and studied Ford because of his accomplishments and the reduction of waste at early Ford assembly plants (Arnheiter and Maleyeff, 2005). Thus Lean management eliminates all forms of waste, decreasing errors, shrinking inventory and ordering or supplying parts just in time, therefore decreasing warehousing costs. (Rand, 2013) identified the seven forms of waste, including waste in unnecessary motion, over processing and transportation. Thus by doing this it will saves the business money and allows workers to pay attention to more value creating activities. There are four main principles of lean which are (Rouse, 2013) firstly defining the value from the perspective of the end customer, identifying each steps in a business process and eliminating non value activities, making the value creating steps occur in tight sequence and then finally repeating the first three steps on a constantly basis until all the waste has been eliminated.
