Review Of The E-Series How To Beat Your Competition...
This is the tenth book in the E Series How to Beat Your Competition Selling Real Estate to Foreign
Buyers. The E Series will eventually summarize All You Have to Know to successfully market and
sell real estate to international buyers.
Why would you need the real estate buyers from abroad?
All real estate is local as the old saying goes, but buyers are not! In today s internet times you can sell
goods, services and real estate to anybody in the world without borders. The 2016 report of the
National Association of Realtors (U.S.) states that over the 12 month period the foreign buyers
purchased more than 200 000 homes in the U.S. for which they paid more than 100 billion dollars. At
the same time, according to the Florida Association of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Well, very often it is really not enough and the reasons are plenty: Your local real estate market is
weak and the local buyers are not active at all while you have to sell fast and not on the cheap; or the
local market is more or less balanced, but you feel that you can t get the price you want anyway; or
your property for sale might have a much greater appeal to a foreign buyer from a particular country
as for a local one and you may very well benefit from this situation as a private seller or realtor or
developer.
Some real estate sellers believe that taking the usual approach to marketing properties for sale in the
comfort of their own language, media and cultural environment is just enough and the foreign buyers
can find them anyway if they wish. Yes, it is possible to get one or two international inquirers this
way, but the number of the prospective buyers will be in no comparison if using the methods of your
property promotion to the foreign markets specifically.
The E series How to Beat Your Competition Selling Real Estate to Foreign Buyers is based on the
author s personal experience with marketing international real estate from all over the world to the
foreign Russian speaking buyers (directly to the buying public and through Russian speaking realtors)
and her extensive research in the other foreign nation s buying markets (like Chinese who are the hot
topic in all the media).
The author, Olga Kellen, has been freelancing for many years as the

Long Walk To Water Theme
A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park. I think in this book the theme is survival. I know this
because in Salva s story he is just trying to stay alive in the war. This is also the theme in Nya s story
because she fetches water every day just so she and her family doesn t die both characters exemplify
the theme of survival as they fight through the story. Nya South Sudan 2006 2009 conflicts water,
food and war. On page 33 it says Her mother was afraid that the men in her tribe would run into Dinka
tribesmen, this mean that they would die if that happened this supports the theme because they could

is not surviving. On page 33

Cause Of High School Dropouts In The United States
Causes of High School Dropouts
Did you know that in a single year about 1.2 millions students dropout from high school in the United
States that s a student every 26 seconds, or 7,000 a day. Even about 25% of high school freshman will
drop out before graduating. With so many high school dropouts, it leaves schools wondering why
students are dropping out and their reason for it. In the 1970s 1990s areas with low income housing
resulted in high crime statistics and dangerous choices in the youth of the time were a major cause in
high high school dropout rates.
In America a dropout will earn about $200,000 less than a high school graduate, and about million
dollars less than a college graduate. In schools that are surrounded by a low income ... Show more

O.J. Simpson Not Guilty
To: Dr. Sirleaf

Topic: Why O.J. Simpson was found not guilty
May 12, 2010
Strayer University
The double homicide trial of O.J. Simpson may be over but the speculation of how and why he was
found not guilty is still running sky high. Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman
were stabbed to death outside her Brentwood townhouse on June 12 1994. Former American football
star O.J. Simpson was arrested soon after the killings but insisted from the start he was absolutely,
100% not guilty (BBC News, 1995).

suicide letter. It ended: Don t feel sorry for me. I ve had a great life, great friends. Please think of the
real O. J. and not this lost person. Thanks for making my life special. I hope I helped yours. Peace and
love, O. J. Around 6:20 a motorist in Orange County saw Simpson riding in the white Bronco of his
friend, A. C. Cowlings, and notified police. Soon a dozen police cars, news helicopters, and some
curious members of the public were following in pursuit of the Bronco. The slow motion chase would
finally end with Simpson s arrest in his own driveway. After making the arrest, police discovered
$8,750 in cash, a false beard and mustache, a loaded gun, and a passport in Cowlings vehicle.
Orenthal James Simpson s fate became the essential television viewing for the American public while
95 million Americans watched police give chase to his white Ford Bronco on the day of his arrest

Gallaudet Disability Rights Movement
I. Introduction
With nearly 20% of Americans having a disability, the voice of the disability community is growing
stronger and louder. The disability community has worked long and hard to ensure that people with
disabilities are included in conventional American life and not sent away to institutions such as mental
hospitals and nursing homes. While the disability community has made large strides towards equality,
there is still much to come until people with disabilities are truly integrated in mainstream life. For
example, Scott Randolf, a Vietnam veteran who lost his sight and legs from duty, complains that he is
not getting the help he needs. His wheelchair is unable to fit through several doors; if he falls on the
floor, he is not able to get up until the ambulance and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most notable feats is the Deaf President Now protest at Gallaudet University on 1988.
Gallaudet University is the only American university that is specifically for people with hearing
disabilities. Ironically, Gallaudet s president and most of its board of trustees were not deaf, and after a
week of long protests, Gallaudet students were able to change that. This protest was a huge victory for
the Disability Rights movement across the nation because people with disabilities saw that they could
create major change.
Two years later, protesters were anxiously waiting at the United States Capitol for the ADA to pass.
The passage of the ADA was stalled by public transit companies complaining about the strict
regulations set around accessibility that would be hard to implement. Many people approached the
Capitol and set their wheelchairs, crutches, and canes aside to begin crawling up the steps of the
Capitol. This was known as the Capitol Crawl (See Appendix A). By struggling to make their way up
the steps of the Capitol, the protesters were able to show the demand of accessibility in their daily

The Disadvantages And Pros And Cons Of Geothermal Energy
Energy is everywhere: you can feel it; you can listen to it; you can step on it. In the 21st century,
scientists and engineers made a huge progress in the development of different types of alternative
energy sources, the most popular of which are solar energy, wind energy, and geothermal energy.
However, people knowing all the advantages of these energy types, in many cases, cannot afford them
because of several problems. Geothermal energy is a developing technology that extracts the heat
from the Earth. In order to increase the prevalence of it, engineers are trying to eliminate the
disadvantages of the technology, which are unavailability of equipment of the whole system, lack of
skilled workers, huge investments needed in the beginning of ... Show more content on

According to Gupta, the advantages of geothermal energy are that it is a renewable and environment
friendly source, it needs small spaces, it can be extracted anywhere, and it does not depend on the
weather (50). But the part that scientists are concerned more about is the cons of the geothermal
energy, because they does not allow the technology to be widely used all over the world. To
understand the most common problems connected with this technology, I searched more articles on
this topic and found the academic article Geothermal Energy: Delivering on the Global Potential by
Paul L. Younger, who analyzed some advantages and disadvantages of the geothermal systems.
According to Younger, although the geothermal energy has higher efficiency than wind or solar energy
systems, it remains the least developed among them because of uncertainties about the availability of
geothermal resources in many regions and high concentration of expenses at early stages of using the
geothermal systems (Young 11748). The author concludes that advances in drilling technologies and
improvements in the management of shallow recourses can lower the installation cost of geothermal
systems

Political Back Channels
This article discusses the role of political back channels in the siting of social service facilities, with a
focus on group homes, arguing that the political back channels impair social services ability to place
facilities in neighbourhoods outside of very low income areas. The authors argue their theory by using
a case study composed of interviews, media analysis, and a spatial analysis of the city of Worcester.
The article relates to other literature such as Jennifer Wolch and Michael Dear s works on back
channel politics and group homes. The authors are limited due to the article s scope and the lack of
research in this specific area of health geography.

A Short Story Of A Chapter
Harry had driven him far from home. He sat in the car for what felt like an hour when in reality it was
only thirty minutes. But he didn t mind he liked to look out the window. Louis had never been in such
a fancy pub before, he honestly hadn t been anywhere else than Mcdonald s but he would never admit
that to Harry. He stayed close to the alphas side as he pulled him into the empty pub. Harry led him
into a back room with a private table. He spotted Liam and grinned. The alpha waved for him to come
over. Harry was never much of the kind to throw parties but he figured it was better to make friends
with the surrounding packs incase trouble came his way. He was always one to look out for himself

He carried the boy to his bed and tucked him in without a worry. Harry s hangover wasn t too bad. It
was noon and it was already gone. He had been the first one up and set up in the living room with his
typical cup of tea in one hand and his phone in the other. It was peaceful until Liam came trudging
down the steps carrying the darn omega in his arms. Stop carrying him around. He isn t a child Liam.
Harry grumbled. Found him sleeping in the bathroom. I think he is sick. Liam sighed. Harry took a sip
of his tea and looked up at the boy snuggled up in Liam s arms. Liam laid the boy down on the sofa
and placed his hand on his forehead. He is warm. You should take him to Ed. He was vomiting blood.
Harry paused and looked at the boy again. His shirt was wet most likely from sweat. He honestly
looked like shit. But still Harry didn t want to deal with the omega. It was the boy s fault. He had
drank last night and he had to suffer the consequences. Why should I? He is your responsibility. Zayn
and I need have appointments today. Do you really trust Grimshaw to take him there? Harry groaned
dramatically throwing his head back. Fine! Harry exclaimed. Harry fiddled with the buttons of his

The Brief Educational Intervention Of Diabetes Mellitus...
The brief educational intervention for this study was conducted among Meharry medical students
during their Family and Community Medicine clerkship between May 2014 and December 2015. An
existing ninety minute didactic education session for Preventive Medicine topics was enhanced
through the addition of nutrition content related to chronic disease prevention and treatment. The
curriculum was designed by Meharry faculty based on a thorough literature review, including
guidelines and recommendations from organizations such as the National Institutes of Health,
American Diabetes Association, and USPSTF.21 The content was tailored toward identification of risk
factors, screening, and dietary recommendations for coronary heart disease, diabetes mellitus type 2,

My Family As An Extended Family
Introduction From an early age I placed a very high value on being a part of my family. At first it was
most likely feeling safe and secure. That being said, I had the logical realization that family was
important. Of special importance were grandparents and the extended family members. Being born in
a town where both sets of grandparents resided in addition to all the rest of my extended family was
very comforting to me. Being the first born grandchild had its advantages. I became very attached to
all the grandparents and enjoyed love, attention and quality time frequently until the first grade when
we moved. When my younger sister was born, I never felt replaced or left out because of the quality
time my grandparents invested in me. Even after my family moved a state away we always went back
for holidays, birthdays and summer vacations. I have a great deal of wonderful memories from my
childhood. My mother s father, my grandfather, was a very large presence in the community. He was
well respected in both the white as well as the black community in which he owned a grocery store.
This was unusual because there was a lot of racial tension and discrimination in Southern Alabama in
the 1960 s. He was a tall man at six foot five and was a hard worker. He often bailed people out of jail
and helped them with food when they were financially strapped anonymously. He was a Sunday
school teacher and had good moral values. I learned later that before I came along he had been an
alcoholic, a smoker, had been known for his quick temper, was not religious and had been unfaithful
to my grandmother. As it was told to me, one Sunday morning he got up, got dressed, went to church
and never took another drink or smoked again and was a radically changed man. He became a kind,
caring, charitable person. He was more of a father to me in many ways than my dad and we had long
talks in which he stressed the important things in life. He and my grandmother took my sister and I
fishing on the lake. We camped in the camper. We stayed for vacations at the Gulf of Mexico. The
stories he told, lessons I learned and loving affection he genuinely offered is something I consider a
gift I have never forgotten. The reason I never forgot is

Persepolis By Marjane Satrapi
Writers use characters to represent their alienation from their cultural and social values. This is seen in
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi who talks about her story of growing up in Iran during revolutions and
war time. In the novel, it s clearly seen that Marji doesn t belong to the society she lives in. In the first
chapter, The Veil , we can clearly notice with the first two panels that she is different. In a class photo,
she is sitting on the far left and we can t see her. This photo can be seen as symbolism. It symbolizes
the alienation of Marji from that religious society. It s also presented in a way that makes readers think
that she s not with them or doesn t want to be with them. This creates the idea of « this is me » and «
here are others ». First two panels are also effective to create a good setting for readers. It helps us to
have an idea of Marjane not being happy to be with others and is not happy at all to wear the ... Show

After the revolution that was sparked by a group of islamic fundamentalists, the people s support for
western ways of life had to be abandoned. That made Iran a more islamic country with a government
that reinforces the word and doctrine of Allah. This affected Marjane because she is a westernized
woman and grew up in a westernized environment. The context proves that Marjane felt alienated
from her culture and society because it s not where she belongs. This is proven in the chapter The
Socks , where Marjane organizes private parties in which she has fun with other women without
respecting the society and its restrictions. It also shows a juxtaposition between her behaviour in
public and and her behaviour in private. This shows that even if the society obligates her to act less
westernized, she continues to do whatever she likes but privately. This proves again the theme of
rebellion, she is a rebellious person since her

Losing Vietnam on the Home front
Forty six years have passed since the United States officially stopped their involvement in Vietnam.
Not since the Civil war had the country been so torn. Every American family was impacted, losing
husbands, sons, and daughters. Over fifty thousand Americans were killed and many more still suffer
deep physical and emotional scars . Veterans took their own lives, were treated as social outcasts, or
ended up on the streets with the homeless. The Vietnam conflict was a war that many did not
understand and that left a nation questioning the government they had always trusted.

involvement in the Vietnam War. Some advocates within this movement advocated a unilateral
withdrawal of U.S. forces from South Vietnam.
In 1965 the movement began to gain national prominence. Aggressive actions by police and protesters
turned the anti war demonstrations in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention into a riot.
News reports of American military abuses, such as the 1968 My Lai Massacre, brought new attention
and support to the anti war movement bringing it to its height. The movement continued to prosper
over the span of the conflict.
The Mỹ Lai Massacre was the Vietnam War mass killing of between 347 and 504 unarmed civilians in
South Vietnam on March 16, 1968. Victims included men, women, children, and infants. The
massacre, which was later called the most shocking episode of the Vietnam War , took place in two
hamlets of Sơn Mỹ village in Quảng Ngãi Province. These hamlets were marked on the U.S. Army
topographic maps as My Lai and My Khe. The U.S. military codeword for the alleged Viet Cong
stronghold in that area was Pinkville, and the carnage was initially referred to as the Pinkville
Massacre. Later, when the U.S. Army started its investigation, the media changed it to the Massacre at
Songmy. Currently, the event is referred to as the My Lai Massacre in the United States and called the
Son My Massacre in Vietnam.
High profile opposition to the Vietnam war turned to street protests in an effort to turn U.S.

Personal Statement For Girl Child Education
When you educate a woman, you educate a nation. This quote has been an inspiration and a
developmental tool throughout my education and daily life. Coming from a nation and a continent
with little girl child education, I aspire to become one of the most inspiring women and a role model
to both young and old. According to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics , 79% of men aged 45 49 are
literate compared to 50% of women in the same age group. Coming from a family that values
education has built my character and has taught me very many things about life that I intend to extend
to my siblings and the girl child. My dream is to become one of the most influential women not only
in Uganda and Africa, but the world at large. This is due to the fact that Africa has very few influential
women that younger girls would look up to. I therefore want to use education to change the mindset of

Zombie Attack Research Paper
Likelihood of a zombie attack
I need to warn you that someday zombies will take over the world. We need to be prepared, this is not
just my opinion. This is a fact. Watch any zombie movie, and you too will see the TRUTH. Although
the likely hood that you will be turned into a zombie is great, there re some things that you can do to
prepare.
You may ask, how do we prepare for the zombie attack? There are many things you need to keep in
mind to ensure that you too will survive the attack of the zombies. First, make sure you do not have
any close attachments to other people. because you will likely end up having to kill them this will be
hard for you if you have loved one, so it will be best if you just cut all attachments now.
Second, make sure you have the proper tools on hand. A gun will not serve you well in this situation;
however a collection of old knives will come in handy. A chain saw can be helpful, you need to make
sure it s rather gas than electric and have some extra gas on hand. Other useful items to have on hand
machete, automobile.

Compare And Contrast The Twins Of Siam And The Elephant Man
Comparative Analytical Text Essay
The Twins of Siam and The Elephant Man
Essay question:
People who are physically disabled all lead similar lives.
Do the Twins of Siam and the Elephant Man show this to be true?
The Elephant Man is the true story of Joseph Merrick s life from Tim Vicary s novel. Joseph Merrick
was born in London in 1862 and later, he developed a disease that made him disabled. The Twins of
Siam is a short text about Change and Eng, who were the conjoined twins, born in Thailand in 1811.
These characters in both stories are all disabled and lived in the 18th century. Even though they all
experience physical disabilities, Joseph Merrick s life does not have a lot in common with Chang and
Eng s. While they are all physically disabled and stared at by others, Joseph s life is more miserable
since he suffers more abuse than the twins do. However, Joseph Merrick and the twins all have some
happiness experiences in their lives, but he experiences more loneliness and misery than Chang and
Eng. Although these three men feel frustrated because of their disabilities, they all find some activities
that they enjoy and make the best of their lives.
While Merrick, Chang and Eng are all physically disabled and stared at by others, Joseph s life is
more pathetic since he suffers more abuse than the twins do. Unfortunately, Merrick has been
humiliated and treated terribly by a man called Silcock in his early days, and he has no way of
escaping his miserable life. When

Essay on Confessions
Saint Augustine s book Confessions talks about how increasing your knowledge through reading leads
you through a conversion in which you begin to recall things and their relevance through memory.
Socrates stresses the concept of increasing knowledge as a way to grow. Socrates also was the one
who wanted to have a field day teaching Saint Augustine. Saint Augustine uses his life to display to us
the way one s quest for God should be like. He believed that one must begin their journey by first
reading about God through books such as the Bible. Once one believes in God, they will have gone
through a conversion in which their memory allows them to remember their readings on God and

31). He clearly states that reading the book converted his belief. After going through conversion Saint
Augustine believes that your memory begins to recall the relevance of things. He describes memory as
The vast cave of memory, with its numerous and mysterious recesses, receives all these things and
stores them up, to be recalled and brought forth when required. (10.8.13 p154). He uses this
description of memory because as one is reading one does not try remembering everything, but once
one is converted everything that is in their memory starts to make sense and becomes relevant.
The concept of reading conversion and memory apply to God. It describes the quest in finding God.
One first reads about God and tries to understand him. After you have had some time to let what you
read sink in to your memory, your memory begins to recall the readings and you understand the
importance and relevance of what you read. It is because of your memories that you undergo a
conversion. Saint Augustine uses reading and memory to lead to a conversion in his life from not
believing in God to becoming a Christian. Saint Augustine confesses to God the following Have
mercy on me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee not to abuse thy

Mental Health And Its Effects On Society
Everyone is different in society. There are special individuals, which are affected by mental health
illnesses. Mental health issues can affect society both negatively and positively. There are cultures that
treat these individuals like the reincarnations of gods. On the other side, there are cultures that isolate
these individuals and look for cures to these pathologies. Mental health illnesses are important because
they have to be studied to understand their cause, whether it may be biological or environmental.
These issues are important because like every type of illness they have to be delicately studied,
focusing on treatments to either cure them or reduce the symptoms of the pathology. These people
were either conflicted with the ideals of society or they were praised by it. Cultures, which didn t
accept them, closed them up into asylums. Patients inside these facilities were brutally used as guinea
pigs for their experiments. The way these people were treated shows how cruel and ignorant people
were to the unknown. By learning from histories mistakes we can move forward in improving our
society and achieve greatness.
Today, mental issues like ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and depression are better
understood thanks to past experience and seen as a minor neurosis. Unfortunately some treatments
depersonalize these individuals leaving them empty and plain. There are clear examples of negative
connotations attributed to medications. In his autobiography, the

Glutamate receptor interacting protein (GRIP) is the interacting protein which is associated with
AMPAR protein receptor in the postsynaptic cell. Amount of GRIP is associated with AMPAR
receptors can lead to the prediction of activity in the presynaptic cell. AMPAR receptor change shape
to be ready to receive neurotransmitter when GRIP bind. The presynaptic cell contains vesicle which
neurotransmitters are accommodated. When calcium enters the presynaptic cell by calcium channel,
vesicles dock to the presynaptic cell to become ready to release neurotransmitters to the synaptic gap.
Neurotransmitters are released in a packet called quanta. AMPAR receptor has to change its shape by

The reason of conducting this experiment is to measure how visual activity correlates to how GRIP
protein can alter AMPAR receptor activity in postsynaptic cell that can lead to prediction of activity of
GRIP protein and AMPAR receptor in presynaptic cell. If GRIP is taken out from postsynaptic cell,
plasticity of postsynaptic cell will not alter since ability of the cell to maintain level of activity even
visual input decrease. In postsynaptic cell, GRIP is necessary or responsible for maintaining activity
level of the cell. My position and job in this experiment is to understand and recognize the GRIP s role
and how GRIP regulates the AMPAR receptor in the presynaptic terminal.
This experiment s results and mechanisms relates current medical disease which well known as autism
spectrum disorder (ASD). Symptoms of ASD are difficulty of communication and interaction with
others and inadequate eye contact. When GRIP proteins do not interact with AMPAR receptor, ASD
were developed due to genetic mutation of the GRIP. GRIPs are located on the presynaptic and
postsynaptic cell, but when diagnosing ASD disease, only postsynaptic cell were observed to detect
ASD. The reason I am desiring to predict activity in presynaptic cell is to understand neuron activity.
Knowing that allows to regulate protein and receptor and manipulate the neurons the way genetics
want to cure ASD. If geneticist know how neurons

Crisis, and John F Kennedy s assassination. The Vietnam War and the first men on the moon, but the
sixties was blamed for many things going wrong in society

In the sixties there were several legal changes, which gave women a stronger position in marriage. The
Married women s property act in 1964 made sure that all women would get half the money they saved
from housekeeping, in 1967, the matrimonial acts gave husband and wife exactly the same right of
occupation in a family home. Best most of all in 1970, when family assets were divided up the women
s upkeep of household and welfare of family was taken into acount.women were now treated with
more equality, and this had been a great change for women who lived in the 1950s. Before, in the
1950s women did not have many job opportunities most of them worked in boutiques or as
receptionists all of this was because of the traditional views that women stay at home and sacrifice
their career for the home and children, this is because they did not have equal education. So in the
sixties law was formed to make sure girls and boys had same education.
Liberals liked the sixties because there were many changes. Homosexuality was legalised in 1967 but
relationships had to be in private and The Death penalty was abolished.
Most parents would have disliked the sixties because they would disapprove their children s

Engine Removal Research Paper
The removal of a internally damaged engine from your personal car or truck may seem like a daunting
task, but in reality, with the proper tools, equipment, and work space, it can be done within a 6 hour
time frame. Having the proper space to pull the motor is the number one key to the engine removal.
There will be components of the motor that will have to be disassembled at certain periods during the
removal process and if there is no space to lay the parts, then where are you going to put the motor?
The proper tools and equipment is another major concern of an engine removal. Not all the bolts and
nuts that hold the motor and its components together are not always the same size, and sometimes
certain bolts and nuts are in tight spaces so only certain sized ratchets or wrenches will fit to loosen
them. Also, there are specialty tools for loosening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually 2 separate pans are needed. One is for oils, such as motor oil and power steering fluid, and the
other is for antifreeze. If the antifreeze fluid is relatively new, it can be saved and reused. The oil on
the other hand should not be reused because if the engine is internally damaged, there may be small
bits of metal in the oil that cannot be seen as well as sludge that can build up making a motor work
harder. Normally the oil filter is left on to keep oil from dripping. Once all the oil and antifreeze are
drained, replace the plugs and tighten. Also, if the vehicle has a working air conditioner system, a
recovery machine is needed to recycle the Freon out of the system. The system is under high pressure
and Freon depletes the ozone layer, so only a certified technician can handle Freon. Even if your AC
compressor is locked up, the system may still have Freon still in its lines. If you are planning an
engine swap, it is best to have a local auto shop recover your Freon for you before starting the engine

A Survey Of Image Based Artistic Rendering Techniques
A survey of Image Based Artistic Rendering techniques
Introduction
Paintings have been known to capture the human imagination since the pre historic times. A skilled
artist can evoke a range of human emotions and can portray things like appearances, playing of light
in surfaces, mood etc. on the paper. Similarly, with the invention of photography in the 19th century,
the artists got a new medium for their expressiveness and simulated artistic diversity. The field of non
photorealistic rendering started off in the early nineties with the aim of using the power of computer
graphics and create an interface between the two fields. With the exponential rise in computational

Also, researchers increasingly sought to automate the process and enhance the sophistication of stroke
placement.
The work by Haeberli[2] enabled people to transform photographs into impressionist paintings with
minimal labor. The user clicked on a photo, and the underlying system automatically placed the virtual
strokes by using the color of the source image. They also added noise to results to enhance the
impressionist effect. However, the first automatic solution was a tool proposed by Litwinowicz [3].
This is the paper which we review first in this report.
Processing Images and Video for an Impressionist Effect
This paper aims producing impressions of the original image, i.e. images that give a sense of an
original image without reproducing it. They happen to have a painterly feel to them and appear as they
have been hand painted. They produce painterly animation from video clips automatically after the
user specifies a few parameters to generate he first frame. After the user s preferences are taken into
account and he approves the first frame, the whole video segment is automatically produced without
further user intervention.
The biggest challenge in videos is to produce a temporally coherent style of animation which avoids
flicker and takes into account the movement of objects in the video. This paper was the first one to use
optical flow to compute the per pixel movement in images and use it to generate a sequence which is

Literature Review A review of literature pertaining to the effects of CPOE on clinician workflow
revealed several interesting findings. Although many seemingly effective CPOEs exist, their
performance in the clinical environment is highly dependent on the perceived usability and acceptance
of the end users. The user interface design is of extreme importance. Complex sequences of action,
numerous mouse clicks, and problematic presentation of information are some barriers that can lead to
delays and errors (Khajouei, Wierenga, Hasman, Jaspers, 2011; Khanna Yen, 2014; Van Doormaal et
al., 2010). Comprehensive training and ongoing support by super users are critical factors to clinicians
acceptance and optimal functioning of the system (Khajouei et al., 2011; Staton et al., 2013). The
negative impact on multidisciplinary interaction is profound, but can be facilitated by sound
communication policies (Khajouei et al., 2011; Khanna Yen, 2014; Staton et al., 2013; Van Doormaal
et al., 2010). In addition, providers inclusion in any proposed workflow changes can avert later
problems (Staton et al., 2013). Hagstedt, Rudebeck, Petersson (2011) developed a survey consisting of
73 specific questions that address patient safety,

The Stereotypical Black Woman Essay
Images in media, television especially, are a direct projection of the people who control and project
them, which often tends to be white people. We face the problems of images projected by people not
of us, she said. The media is the most powerful mind manipulating tool on the earth. (Ruby, 18) The
perception of black women in the media today can be damaging to the self image of the young black
women of today. During the Black Arts Movement, many artists and poets spoke of how white
influence in our lives has created skewed beauty ideals in the African American community. This
white influence tends to harm black women s images of themselves. Most female images seen in

Through history, culture, and media, Black women have most often been portrayed in some
combination of three images: (1) as highly maternal, family oriented, and self sacrificing Mammies;
(2) as threatening and argumentative Sapphires; and (3) as seductive, sexually irresponsible,
promiscuous Jezebels. (West, 1) The stereotypical black woman is also often loud, angry, and over the
top, which has been used to add humor to today s television programming and a lot of today s media.
Even though today, images of black women are more common than in the past the same stereotypes
remain. The mammy can often be seen as asexual, larger dark skinned black women who takes on a no
nonsense maternal role. Mammy, one of the most pervasive images of Black women, originated in the
South during slavery...Physically, she was depicted as a bandanna clad, obese, dark complexioned
woman with African features. Her primary role was domestic service, characterized by long hours of
work with little or no financial compensation. Subordination, nurturance, and constant self sacrifice
were expected as she performed her domestic duties (Jewell, 1993). (West, 1) The mammy usually has
a role in which she is serving such as the character Minnie Jackson in the controversial Oscar
nominated film The Help. Mammy stemming from the word mother is a stereotype that reaches all the

  • 2. Review Of The E-Series How To Beat Your Competition... This is the tenth book in the E Series How to Beat Your Competition Selling Real Estate to Foreign Buyers. The E Series will eventually summarize All You Have to Know to successfully market and sell real estate to international buyers. Why would you need the real estate buyers from abroad? All real estate is local as the old saying goes, but buyers are not! In today s internet times you can sell goods, services and real estate to anybody in the world without borders. The 2016 report of the National Association of Realtors (U.S.) states that over the 12 month period the foreign buyers purchased more than 200 000 homes in the U.S. for which they paid more than 100 billion dollars. At the same time, according to the Florida Association of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Well, very often it is really not enough and the reasons are plenty: Your local real estate market is weak and the local buyers are not active at all while you have to sell fast and not on the cheap; or the local market is more or less balanced, but you feel that you can t get the price you want anyway; or your property for sale might have a much greater appeal to a foreign buyer from a particular country as for a local one and you may very well benefit from this situation as a private seller or realtor or developer. Some real estate sellers believe that taking the usual approach to marketing properties for sale in the comfort of their own language, media and cultural environment is just enough and the foreign buyers can find them anyway if they wish. Yes, it is possible to get one or two international inquirers this way, but the number of the prospective buyers will be in no comparison if using the methods of your property promotion to the foreign markets specifically. The E series How to Beat Your Competition Selling Real Estate to Foreign Buyers is based on the author s personal experience with marketing international real estate from all over the world to the foreign Russian speaking buyers (directly to the buying public and through Russian speaking realtors) and her extensive research in the other foreign nation s buying markets (like Chinese who are the hot topic in all the media). Cause Of High School Dropouts In The United States Causes of High School Dropouts Did you know that in a single year about 1.2 millions students dropout from high school in the United States that s a student every 26 seconds, or 7,000 a day. Even about 25% of high school freshman will drop out before graduating. With so many high school dropouts, it leaves schools wondering why students are dropping out and their reason for it. In the 1970s 1990s areas with low income housing resulted in high crime statistics and dangerous choices in the youth of the time were a major cause in high high school dropout rates. Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were stabbed to death outside her Brentwood townhouse on June 12 1994. Former American football star O.J. The disability community has worked long and hard to ensure that people with disabilities are included in conventional American life and not sent away to institutions such as mental hospitals and nursing homes. While the disability community has made large strides towards equality, there is still much to come until people with disabilities are truly integrated in mainstream life. This protest was a huge victory for the Disability Rights movement across the nation because people with disabilities saw that they could create major change. Two years later, protesters were anxiously waiting at the United States Capitol for the ADA to pass. The passage of the ADA was stalled by public transit companies complaining about the strict regulations set around accessibility that would be hard to implement. Many people approached the Capitol and set their wheelchairs, crutches, and canes aside to begin crawling up the steps of the Capitol. This was known as the Capitol Crawl (See Appendix A). In the 21st century, scientists and engineers made a huge progress in the development of different types of alternative energy sources, the most popular of which are solar energy, wind energy, and geothermal energy. However, people knowing all the advantages of these energy types, in many cases, cannot afford them because of several problems. To understand the most common problems connected with this technology, I searched more articles on this topic and found the academic article Geothermal Energy: Delivering on the Global Potential by Paul L. Younger, who analyzed some advantages and disadvantages of the geothermal systems. According to Younger, although the geothermal energy has higher efficiency than wind or solar energy systems, it remains the least developed among them because of uncertainties about the availability of geothermal resources in many regions and high concentration of expenses at early stages of using the geothermal systems (Young 11748). The author concludes that advances in drilling technologies and improvements in the management of shallow recourses can lower the installation cost of geothermal systems ... The article relates to other literature such as Jennifer Wolch and Michael Dear s works on back channel politics and group homes. He had been the first one up and set up in the living room with his typical cup of tea in one hand and his phone in the other. It was peaceful until Liam came trudging down the steps carrying the darn omega in his arms. Stop carrying him around. He isn t a child Liam. Harry grumbled. Found him sleeping in the bathroom. I think he is sick. Liam sighed. Harry took a sip of his tea and looked up at the boy snuggled up in Liam s arms. Liam laid the boy down on the sofa and placed his hand on his forehead. He is warm. You should take him to Ed. He was vomiting blood. Harry paused and looked at the boy again. His shirt was wet most likely from sweat. He honestly looked like shit. • 13. My Family As An Extended Family Introduction From an early age I placed a very high value on being a part of my family. At first it was most likely feeling safe and secure. That being said, I had the logical realization that family was important. Of special importance were grandparents and the extended family members. Being born in a town where both sets of grandparents resided in addition to all the rest of my extended family was very comforting to me. Being the first born grandchild had its advantages. I became very attached to all the grandparents and enjoyed love, attention and quality time frequently until the first grade when we moved. When my younger sister was born, I never felt replaced or left out because of the quality time my grandparents invested in me. Even after my family moved a state away we always went back for holidays, birthdays and summer vacations. I have a great deal of wonderful memories from my childhood. My mother s father, my grandfather, was a very large presence in the community. He was well respected in both the white as well as the black community in which he owned a grocery store. This was unusual because there was a lot of racial tension and discrimination in Southern Alabama in the 1960 s. He was a tall man at six foot five and was a hard worker. He often bailed people out of jail and helped them with food when they were financially strapped anonymously. He was a Sunday school teacher and had good moral values. I learned later that before I came along he had been an alcoholic, a smoker, had been known for his quick temper, was not religious and had been unfaithful to my grandmother. As it was told to me, one Sunday morning he got up, got dressed, went to church and never took another drink or smoked again and was a radically changed man. He became a kind, caring, charitable person. He was more of a father to me in many ways than my dad and we had long talks in which he stressed the important things in life. He and my grandmother took my sister and I fishing on the lake. We camped in the camper. We stayed for vacations at the Gulf of Mexico. The stories he told, lessons I learned and loving affection he genuinely offered is something I consider a gift I have never forgotten. The reason I never forgot is ... • 16. Persepolis By Marjane Satrapi Writers use characters to represent their alienation from their cultural and social values. This is seen in Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi who talks about her story of growing up in Iran during revolutions and war time. In the novel, it s clearly seen that Marji doesn t belong to the society she lives in. In the first chapter, The Veil , we can clearly notice with the first two panels that she is different. In a class photo, she is sitting on the far left and we can t see her. This photo can be seen as symbolism. It symbolizes the alienation of Marji from that religious society. It s also presented in a way that makes readers think that she s not with them or doesn t want to be with them. This creates the idea of « this is me » and « here are others ». First two panels are also effective to create a good setting for readers. It helps us to have an idea of Marjane not being happy to be with others and is not happy at all to wear the ... The context proves that Marjane felt alienated from her culture and society because it s not where she belongs. This is proven in the chapter The Socks , where Marjane organizes private parties in which she has fun with other women without respecting the society and its restrictions. It also shows a juxtaposition between her behaviour in public and and her behaviour in private. This shows that even if the society obligates her to act less westernized, she continues to do whatever she likes but privately. Mental health issues can affect society both negatively and positively. There are cultures that treat these individuals like the reincarnations of gods. On the other side, there are cultures that isolate these individuals and look for cures to these pathologies. Mental health illnesses are important because they have to be studied to understand their cause, whether it may be biological or environmental. These issues are important because like every type of illness they have to be delicately studied, focusing on treatments to either cure them or reduce the symptoms of the pathology. These people were either conflicted with the ideals of society or they were praised by it. Cultures, which didn t accept them, closed them up into asylums. Patients inside these facilities were brutally used as guinea pigs for their experiments. The way these people were treated shows how cruel and ignorant people were to the unknown. By learning from histories mistakes we can move forward in improving our society and achieve greatness. Today, mental issues like ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and depression are better understood thanks to past experience and seen as a minor neurosis. Also, if the vehicle has a working air conditioner system, a recovery machine is needed to recycle the Freon out of the system. The system is under high pressure and Freon depletes the ozone layer, so only a certified technician can handle Freon. Even if your AC compressor is locked up, the system may still have Freon still in its lines. If you are planning an engine swap, it is best to have a local auto shop recover your Freon for you before starting the engine removal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. A Survey Of Image Based Artistic Rendering Techniques A survey of Image Based Artistic Rendering techniques Introduction Paintings have been known to capture the human imagination since the pre historic times. A skilled artist can evoke a range of human emotions and can portray things like appearances, playing of light in surfaces, mood etc. on the paper. Similarly, with the invention of photography in the 19th century, the artists got a new medium for their expressiveness and simulated artistic diversity. The field of non photorealistic rendering started off in the early nineties with the aim of using the power of computer graphics and create an interface between the two fields. With the exponential rise in computational power and the advances made in computer graphics, the field has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, researchers increasingly sought to automate the process and enhance the sophistication of stroke placement. The work by Haeberli[2] enabled people to transform photographs into impressionist paintings with minimal labor. The user clicked on a photo, and the underlying system automatically placed the virtual strokes by using the color of the source image. They also added noise to results to enhance the impressionist effect. However, the first automatic solution was a tool proposed by Litwinowicz [3]. This is the paper which we review first in this report. Processing Images and Video for an Impressionist Effect This paper aims producing impressions of the original image, i.e. images that give a sense of an original image without reproducing it. They happen to have a painterly feel to them and appear as they have been hand painted. They produce painterly animation from video clips automatically after the user specifies a few parameters to generate he first frame. After the user s preferences are taken into account and he approves the first frame, the whole video segment is automatically produced without further user intervention. The biggest challenge in videos is to produce a temporally coherent style of animation which avoids flicker and takes into account the movement of objects in the video. This paper was the first one to use optical flow to compute the per pixel movement in images and use it to generate a sequence which is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Computerized Provider Order Entry Pre-Deployment... In an effort to improve clinician workflow and enhance patient safety, a healthcare facility has purchased and will soon be introducing a computerized provider order entry (CPOE) system for use within the electronic health record. A pre deployment evaluation plan will permit the informatics team to appraise the usability of the CPOE and provide administrators with valuable data regarding its successful implementation. This paper describes the formation of this evaluation plan including the goals, methodology, and tools to be used. The final sections cover the ethical implications and dissemination of findings, along with the limitations and opportunities that the study provides. Goals of Evaluation Plan and the PICO Question The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Literature Review A review of literature pertaining to the effects of CPOE on clinician workflow revealed several interesting findings. Although many seemingly effective CPOEs exist, their performance in the clinical environment is highly dependent on the perceived usability and acceptance of the end users. The user interface design is of extreme importance. Complex sequences of action, numerous mouse clicks, and problematic presentation of information are some barriers that can lead to delays and errors (Khajouei, Wierenga, Hasman, Jaspers, 2011; Khanna Yen, 2014; Van Doormaal et al., 2010). Comprehensive training and ongoing support by super users are critical factors to clinicians acceptance and optimal functioning of the system (Khajouei et al., 2011; Staton et al., 2013). The negative impact on multidisciplinary interaction is profound, but can be facilitated by sound communication policies (Khajouei et al., 2011; Khanna Yen, 2014; Staton et al., 2013; Van Doormaal et al., 2010). In addition, providers inclusion in any proposed workflow changes can avert later problems (Staton et al., 2013). Hagstedt, Rudebeck, Petersson (2011) developed a survey consisting of 73 specific questions that address patient safety, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Stereotypical Black Woman Essay Images in media, television especially, are a direct projection of the people who control and project them, which often tends to be white people. We face the problems of images projected by people not of us, she said. The media is the most powerful mind manipulating tool on the earth. (Ruby, 18) The perception of black women in the media today can be damaging to the self image of the young black women of today. During the Black Arts Movement, many artists and poets spoke of how white influence in our lives has created skewed beauty ideals in the African American community. This white influence tends to harm black women s images of themselves. Most female images seen in mainstream media are white, thin, tall and just plain gorgeous, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through history, culture, and media, Black women have most often been portrayed in some combination of three images: (1) as highly maternal, family oriented, and self sacrificing Mammies; (2) as threatening and argumentative Sapphires; and (3) as seductive, sexually irresponsible, promiscuous Jezebels. (West, 1) The stereotypical black woman is also often loud, angry, and over the top, which has been used to add humor to today s television programming and a lot of today s media. Even though today, images of black women are more common than in the past the same stereotypes remain. The mammy can often be seen as asexual, larger dark skinned black women who takes on a no nonsense maternal role. Mammy, one of the most pervasive images of Black women, originated in the South during slavery...Physically, she was depicted as a bandanna clad, obese, dark complexioned woman with African features. Her primary role was domestic service, characterized by long hours of work with little or no financial compensation. Subordination, nurturance, and constant self sacrifice were expected as she performed her domestic duties (Jewell, 1993). (West, 1) The mammy usually has a role in which she is serving such as the character Minnie Jackson in the controversial Oscar nominated film The Help.
