DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A RASPBERRYPI BASED HOME SECURITY AND FIRE SAFET...ijcsit
Fire alarms and building security systems are currently separate systems and are liable to monthly fees. Video recording for closed-circuit television (CCTV) is done locally subsequently requiring high storage space. Whenever there is a break-in, the footage records can be stolen consequently losing data. To address high data storage space, monthly premium subscriptions, cost of separate systems and data loss issues of the aforementioned systems, we design and implement a Raspberry-pi based fire and intrusion detection systems in this work. The system sends an SMS in the case of an intrusion or fire detection, and then records and uploads the surveillance videos. The system used a GSM modem for sending SMSs, a video, a PIR sensor to detect motion and a smoke or heat sensor to detect fire. The system is a low cost combined home security and fire detection Raspberry-pi system intended for home and small offices use.
Augmentation of a SCADA based firewall against foreign hacking devices IJECEIAES
An Industrial firewall is a system used to supervise and regulate traffic to and from a network for the purpose of securing appliances on a network. It analyzes the data passing through it to an already defined surveillance criteria or protocols, discarding data that does not meet the protocol’s requirements. In effect, it is a filter preventing undesirable network traffic and selectively limiting the type of transmission that occurs between a secured transmission line. In this research paper a SCADA based Firewall is implemented for protection of the data transmission to a PLC, against external hacking devices. This firewall is virtually exposed to several external hackers and the degree of vulnerability is carefully studied, in order to develop an ideal Firewall.

Wireless sensor networks will be widely deployed in the near future. While much research has focused on making these networks feasible and useful, security has received little attention. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are a most challenging and emerging technology for the Research due to their vital scope in the field coupled with their low processing power and associated low energy. As wireless sensor networks continue to grow, so does the need for effective security mechanisms. Because sensor networks may interact with sensitive data and/or operate in hostile unattended environments, it is imperative that these security concerns be addressed from the beginning of the system design staring with a brief overview of the sensor networks security, a review is made of and how to provide the security in the wireless sensor networks. This paper studies the security problems, Requirement, Architecture of WSN and different platform, characterized by severely constrained computational and energy resources, and an ad hoc operational environment.

Trustworthiness, which encompasses security, privacy, reliability and reliance, is a key challenge for the IoT. Firstly, this is because the IoT is intimately linked to business-critical processes, and secondly because the IoT significantly broadens the surface of attack of business intelligence systems. Sigfox addresses this challenge through a systematic process that assumes that security is relative and will be adapted to the level of threat faced by the application at hand.
Sigfox has gathered a team with lengthy experience in the security industry that deals with all relevant aspects, from security by design to active operational measures. This addresses data protection in motion via measures built in to the protocol (authentication, integrity, encryption, anti-replay, anti-jamming), data protection at rest via cryptographic storage of data and credentials in devices, base stations, and Sigfox Core Network. Reliability and reliance are both native in Sigfox data centers and intrinsic to the Sigfox network architecture to protect against attacks such as DDoS or massive device cloning.
In an effort to support its ecosystem, Sigfox has developed partnerships with internationally recognized security experts to facilitate the introduction of hardware security in devices and provide security assessment schemes for the IoT.
Unidirectional Security, Andrew Ginter of Waterfall Security Digital Bond
This presentation reviews the spectrum of perimeter solutions based on unidirectional technology - solutions that are being deployed to protect the safety and reliability of industrial control systems. Learn why the technology is truly unidirectional based on physics and different ways it can be used in SCADA and DCS.
Many practitioners find parts of the spectrum to be counter-intuitive. Further, some parts of the spectrum are straightforward to deploy, and others require that practitioners take some care to ensure that the results really are as strong as they should be. Technologies and techniques covered include unidirectional gateways, secure bypass, temporary/programmed gateway reversals, opposing gateways, secure remote access, and parallel operations and IT WANs.
Presenter: Mike Firstenberg, Waterfall Security Solutions
NIST, NERC CIP, the ISA/IEC and other authorities are adjusting their advice for secure industrial networks to include at least one layer of hardware-enforced unidirectional communications. Many security practitioners are familiar with specific applications of Unidirectional Security Gateway technology, but fewer have seen how widely the technology is being deployed throughout the electric sector.
Join us to review comprehensive unidirectional network architectures for generation, transmission, distribution, high-voltage substations, and control centers/TSO’s/balancing authorities. In each vertical we review use cases, examine NERC CIP compliance implications and cost savings, and compare the strength of each architecture with legacy firewall-based designs.
This paper presents a brief study of recent advances in wireless network security issues. The paper makes a number of contributions to the wireless networking field. First, it studies the 4G mail threats and risk and their design decisions. Second, the security of 4G architecture with next generation network security and 8-security dimensions of 4G network. Third, security issues and possible threats on 4G are discussed. Finally, we proposed four layer security model which manages to ensure more secure packets transmission by taking all the necessary security measures.

Video surveillance is a booming business, and installations become larger and larger. At the same time,
several studies have highlighted the hit and miss nature of human intervention to spot change in a surrounding
environment. And the challenge becomes larger as systems expand. In addition, a massive
amount of video is being recorded, but never watched or reviewed, due to lack of time.
As a result, events and activities are missed, and suspicious behavior is not noticed in time to prevent
incidents. This has led to the development of intelligent video (IV).

CCTV Surveillance System, attacks and design goals IJECEIAES
Closed Circuit Tele-Vision surveillance systems are frequently the subject of debate. Some parties seek to promote their benefits such as their use in criminal investigations and providing a feeling of safety to the public. They have also been on the receiving end of bad press when some consider intrusiveness has outweighed the benefits. The correct design and use of such systems is paramount to ensure a CCTV surveillance system meets the needs of the user, provides a tangible benefit and provides safety and security for the wider law-abiding public. In focusing on the normative aspects of CCTV, the paper raises questions concerning the efficiency of understanding contemporary forms of „social ordering practices‟ primarily in terms of technical rationalities while neglecting other, more material and ideological processes involved in the construction of social order. In this paper, a 360-degree view presented on the assessment of the diverse CCTV video surveillance systems (VSS) of recent past and present in accordance with technology. Further, an attempt been made to compare different VSS with their operational strengths and their attacks. Finally, the paper concludes with a number of future research directions in the design and implementation of VSS.
Enhanced Dynamic Leakage Detection and Piracy Prevention in Content Delivery ...Editor IJMTER
Due to the increasing popularity of video services application in recent days, it is
undesirable to prevent the content leakage on the trusted video delivery and piracy prevention has
been indeed, become critical. In order to preserve content leakage and prevent piracy,
conventional system addressed the issue by proposing the method based on the observation of
streamed traffic throughout the network .Also piracy has hindered the use of open peer to peer
networks for commercial content delivery. Hence the basic idea is to propose an enhanced
dynamic content leakage detection scheme that is robust to the variation of the video lengths. It
enhances the detection performances even in the environment subjected to variation in length of
videos. To detect pirates, identity-based signature and time stamped token have been generated. It
helps to solve piracy without affecting P2P clients so that colluder cannot download the secured
videos. The advantage lies mainly in advanced content availability, low cost and copyright
agreements in protecting the secured videos.

Automobile Management System Project Report.pdfKamal Acharya
The proposed project is developed to manage the automobile in the automobile dealer company. The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message.
When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely.
When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
