Dan Watt
For my primary research I created a survey to find out who my target audience are and what their
needs are from my product. I sent out the survey to 9 people and received all 9 responses.
For the first question I asked the audience is which gender they belonged too. This was to see if my
target audience demographic was either a majority more male or female, or just a mix between both
genders. From the responses I concluded my target audience was both genders, as 3 males
responded to the question and 6 females did making my product not gender specific.
I next asked the audience what their ages were, to see if my target audience had a certain age
demographic. From the results I found out the majority of people belonged to either the 10-17 or 18-
24 age groups. This means my target audience are teenagers and young adults.

I next asked the audience if they already had an interest in snowboarding, with 9 responses stating
yes and 1 stating no. I asked them this, as if they already had an interesting in snowboarding then I
believe it is safe to assume that my commercial would appeal to them.
I next ask the audience if they would go snowboarding themselves, I received another 8 yes’s and 1
no. This shows that my product would appeal to them if they wanted to snowboard.

I asked them if they would purchase a snowboard for themselves, as the majority answered yes then
it shows at least 7 people out of my target audience may purchase my product after seeing my
commercial.
I asked the audience this question so I can meet their needs in my commercial, the majority picked
between the music in my advert and the visual effects. From this I know which aspects of my advert I
should give more attention too.

Survey fmp research

  • 1. Dan Watt For my primary research I created a survey to find out who my target audience are and what their needs are from my product. I sent out the survey to 9 people and received all 9 responses. For the first question I asked the audience is which gender they belonged too. This was to see if my target audience demographic was either a majority more male or female, or just a mix between both genders. From the responses I concluded my target audience was both genders, as 3 males responded to the question and 6 females did making my product not gender specific. I next asked the audience what their ages were, to see if my target audience had a certain age demographic. From the results I found out the majority of people belonged to either the 10-17 or 18- 24 age groups. This means my target audience are teenagers and young adults.
  • 2. Dan Watt I next asked the audience if they already had an interest in snowboarding, with 9 responses stating yes and 1 stating no. I asked them this, as if they already had an interesting in snowboarding then I believe it is safe to assume that my commercial would appeal to them. I next ask the audience if they would go snowboarding themselves, I received another 8 yes’s and 1 no. This shows that my product would appeal to them if they wanted to snowboard.
  • 3. Dan Watt I asked them if they would purchase a snowboard for themselves, as the majority answered yes then it shows at least 7 people out of my target audience may purchase my product after seeing my commercial. I asked the audience this question so I can meet their needs in my commercial, the majority picked between the music in my advert and the visual effects. From this I know which aspects of my advert I should give more attention too.
