The document summarizes the results of a questionnaire given to people ages 14-20 about their music preferences to help inform the creation of a music video. The questionnaire found that R&B was the most popular genre over pop, and that MTV Base was the most watched music channel. Most respondents said they preferred narrative music videos. 1. Questionnaire Results & Analysis To carry out my questionnaire I ask a variety of people ranging from the age of 14-20 to fill out my questions as they are the audience my music video targets. Presented in this slideshow is my research results conducted using a bar and pie chart this is done in order for results to be seen clearly and most popular and less popular results to be obvious. The purpose of this questionnaire is to understand what young people enjoy when watching a music video. With the information I have found out I will use it to interpret into my music video to make it suitable for my target audience.

3. Gender Of Individuals That Took The Survey From my research this question has helped me to recognize what each genre likes and dislikes are. To conduct my questionnaire I have asked 20 people; 7 male and 13 female. To make my research more reliable I should have asked 10 male and 10 female because the magazine I will be making is for both genres, so the results would be more accurate.

4. Age Of Individuals That Took The Survey Since I am making a music video suited to a young audience I asked people aging from 14- 20 in order to get an understanding of what each age group likes. As I am catering to young people this information is vital in order for me to get an insight in to their interests.

5. From my research I found that R‘n’B is a popular genre that young people are interested in. Although pop is my genre choice , the results shows that young people are still interested in pop but they just prefer R’n’B better. While people were filling out this form I realized that they choose more than one option suggesting the diversity in their preferred genre type.

6. What Music Channel Do You Watch? From this question I can tell from the music channel what genre of music the target audience listen to, From my result I can see that MTV Base is the most popular, as they provide mainly R’n’B music, from this I can tell what genre most people are interested in. However MTV Base is a mainstream channel therefore provides different genres ranging from pop to grime.

7. This question has allowed me to understand what attracts audiences to watch a music video. The most popular was narrative. This question has influenced me to do a narrative video as most people would enjoy watching it.

8. What Is The Maximum You Are Willing To Pay For A CD? The results of the questionnaire has allowed me to recognise how much the target audience is willing to pay, this helps me to understand what the target audience can afford and sell it to them for an affordable price for them. The most popular option was £10-£11.
