The Metric Division Case
The Metric Division Case
Midterm Case
I. Diagnosis
After having carefully read the Metric Division Case, and having well in mind the Open Systems
Model exposed by Cummings and Worley in The Essentials of Organization Development and
Change, I think that as an OD professional I would choose to examine this case at the Group Level.
Throughout the text, it seems pretty clear that the division and the staff encounter some problems that
are typically related to the design component of the Open System Model at the group level.
If we carefully analyse the Metric Division issues, we can clearly identify that the major issues are
located at the group level. goal clarity , which describes the extent to which group understands ...

A larger issue raised during the interviews is the problem encountered during meetings. A lot of staff
members were complaining that meetings were often ineffective in the way they were organized.
Regarding that matters, staff members highlight the fact that they rarely solve any issues during
meetings Meetings seem to be a waste of time in terms of moving the business ahead . It appears to be
mainly due to the lack of organization and agenda during meetings. Conversation often last for ever
without specifically speaking about the problems per say.
We said that Task Structure was equivalent to the way the group s work is designed. Meetings are
supposed to help the group s work to be designed. The problem really is that there is no structure
enabling the group s work to be designed. Staff meetings are apparently not structured enough. No
systematic approach is clearly set which adds another hindrance to the already too large staff member
s amount. As no structure is really present when conducting meetings, priorities of issues are often
blurry and no solutions clearly emerge.
Minor and minor issues are addressed with almost the same importance; everybody is allowed to talk
which inevitably leads to a total confusion and therefore a clear lack of effectiveness.
A reduce amount of people within staffs, a better organized and structured meeting should help the
division to better solve its current

which is mining than it kept changing until our time.
Canada is one of the main exporter countries of forest products. Most of the natural resources are from
south of Canada while some are in the northern parts. Natural resources found are iron, nickel, Zinc,
gold, timber, wildlife, hydropower, natural gas, and petroleum. The main industries are automobile
industry and aircraft industry, also Canada is ranked eighth in seafood industry.
Jordan
Jordan is a Arab country located in the middle east. The problems in Iraq and Syria have caused lots of
damage to Jordan s economy because of border problems and refugee crisis. Jordan has natural

Essay on The Great Debate on Global Warming
The cause of global warming has been a debate between scientists and experts for numerous years. In
fact, Svante August Arrhenius, a Swedish chemist, first predicted global warming would occur in 1896
(Harris 16). Researchers who agree it is naturally caused insist the greenhouse effect has many natural
causes. Others agree that the cause of the Earth s increase in temperature is just part of a continuous
cycle. These researchers argue that solar activity plays a huge role in the issue of global warming.
Therefore, based upon the myth of the greenhouse effect, cyclical patterns, and research on solar
activity, global warming is not a man made dilemma. When greenhouse gases trap heat in the
atmosphere, similar to the way greenhouse panes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The greenhouse effect will continue naturally. Methane makes up thirteen percent of greenhouse gases
(Hopwood Cohen 2). Wetlands are accountable for most of the natural methane concentrations
polluted into the air because they contain bacteria that produce this gas during decomposition (Sources
and Emissions 5). For this reason methane is often called swamp gas (Hopwood Cohen 6). As part of
their digestive process, termites release methane. Also, Oceans, rivers, and estuaries are populated
with marine plankton and fish that create methane when they digest too(Sources and Emissions 5).
Cows breathe out methane when they burp (Harris 10). Natural hydrates, mud volcanoes, gryphons,
steam vents, wildfires, wild animals and bubbling hot springs expel methane in nature(Sources and
Emissions 6). The causes of methane emissions are limitless, but it is evident that it is not a
manageable greenhouse gas. The final greenhouse gas, nitrous oxide, is laughing gas. It is colorless,
has a sweet sent, and makes up six percent of the total greenhouse gases. Naturally, it is discharged
from oceans and bacteria that populate in soils. It can also be found in human and animal waste. Since
1750, nitrous oxide levels have been on the rise. Although nitrous oxide does not contribute to the
greenhouse gases as much as carbon dioxide and methane do, it is important to suppress this gas
because it remains in the atmosphere for a very long time (Hopwood Cohen 7).

Christopher Boone Relationship
Trust is something that is built over time but can be broken in a matter of seconds. Christopher and his
father have a very tempestuous relationship that changes over the course of the novel. In the novel, the
Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon Christopher s father tries to regain
Christopher s love and trust after he loses it, due to a number of problems that he causes while trying
to protect his son that he loves very much. Christopher John Francis Boone, the protagonist, struggles
to figure out what his feelings are towards his father as he tries to forgive him for the problems he has

shocking to Christopher because he has always thought that his father was a very honest and

Building Or Buying A Computer
Building or buying a computer can be a difficult choice, it ultimately comes down to what you want to
use the computer for, how much time you are willing to put into it, and how much money.
Challenges you may face when building a computer could be You have to find the requirements of the
programs that you are intending to run and making sure that it meets those requirements, some parts
you may have bought do not fit like you thought, when looking at some components deciding whether
or not they will meet the requirements, and if they will fit or be compatible with your motherboard.

may be better to just buy a computer that fits your needs rather than spending the time and money to
build your own. Along with buying them for a cheaper price they often work right out of the box once,
everything has been connected correctly. You can also get a warranty with your computer when
buying it, that way if something happens you do not pay to fix it as long as it was not user error. You
also have access to 24/7 tech support so if you did something incorrectly and you can not find that

A Comparison Of Detective Marvel And Detective Comics
It is without a doubt that DC and Marvel, these gigantic comic book companies, have been extremely
influential. Both creating characters, stories, and lores, that will surely stand the test of time. Creating
references and influencing our pop culture to great lenghts. However, it is quite evident which of the
two companies has had, not just the most successful run, but the most influential run. Detective
Comics, better known as DC, is superior due it s content, film production, and overall impact on
history. First of all, DC comics has some of the most recognized icons and characters. Just to name a
few, there is Batman and his infamous The Batsignal . The Batsignal first appeared in the February
1942, in the comic book Detective Comics #60. DC comics also have the rights to Superman, one of
its first comic book superheroes, a well known icon. DC has a great collections of characters, and a
plethora of superheroes. Some of such heroes being, Superman, Batman, Zatman, the Flash, Captain
Atom, Robin, Wonder Woman, and the list continues. All of these Superheros have something in
common, emphasises on the super, they all are extremely godlike. They were all born super, either by
inheritance in the case of Batman, or powers at birth. They are born powerful, and are deeply
motivated by justice. This philosophy is quite interesting, however at time sound unattractive, where
the audience finds it hard to relate to these heroes. In spite of this gap between audience and hero,

Jason Derulo s Song The Other Side
What does an individual characterize as how a song can define themselves? Jason Derulo s song The
Other Side can define an American individual s longing to find someone else to complete themselves.
An American individual is someone who falls in love without even trying. It begins with the
friendship of two people, then slowly escalates to something more meaningful. If the individuals agree
it is the right move for them to become a couple, ignoring the feeling of doubt and the fear of losing
the other one, then it will happen. Yet, sometimes everything falls into place as if it were meant to be.
Furthermore, Jason Derulo elaborates on the contrasting ideas most individuals face with whether or
not to take a step further with the relationship.
It is human nature for individuals to come in contact with the opposite sex and befriend one another ...

Trump is an angel but neither is anyone else. He has said things that are a little out there but people
blow them way out of proportion. Like that time that Jewish guy said he was going to ask a simple
question. His question took about three minutes to explain and that was before Mr. Trump interrupted
him. The guy was bringing up important issues but, like always, he was basically blaming Mr. Trump
for every issue. Saying there have been 48 bomb threats at synagogues across the United States . Now
that may be true, and it is an issue, but how is that Mr. Trumps fault? Mr. Trump had to go and defend
himself like any person would and he said Number one, I am the least anti semitic person that you
have ever seen. That is the line everyone is freaking out about. The reason everyone is freaking out
over that comment is because they think he has been very rude to Jewish people but the people
freaking out about this probably could not give you one rude comment he has said about Jewish
people. To see for myself I was doing a little research to see if he has every said anything about Jewish
people because if he has you know it would be out there because anytime the media can make Mr.
Trump look bad they jump of that chance. Now I found comments regarding Jewish people but
nothing offense. Isn t it crazy that if one person says something to someone you don t like you will

Trust in Freedom Writers and Stand and Deliver
Both Erin Gruwell in Freedom Writers and Jamie Esclante in Stand and Deliver faced students stuck
in low income backgrounds and neighborhoods of crime. Despite the low achievement of these
students, both teachers were able to foster a mastery of a subject to their students. Even though the
subjects of English and math are extremely different, one method united both teachers and allowed
them to teach their students effectively trust. Erin and Jamie were successful because of the trust they
put in their students. In both Erin s and Jamie s school, there was a fundamental distrust of the
students by the faculty and a fundamental distrust of the faculty by the students. This environment led

Finally, the trust placed in the students allowed both Erin and Jamie to raise the bar of their
expectations. By trusting the students are capable and willing to learn in the right environment, both
teachers avoided the trap of teaching remedial methods that seem to match their level of
comprehension and understanding. Instead, both teachers trusted that their students had a greater
capacity to learn than what the school system gave them credit for. It was this trust in the students that
allowed both Erin and Jamie to start teaching information that was previously seen as impossible for
those students to comprehend correctly and adequately. It was this trust in the students by Erin and
Jamie that allowed them to raise the bar. Both teachers expected more of their students than the other
teachers in the school, but students generally seen as lazy and apathetic towards school meet those
expectations against conventional wisdom. The reason for this is that while raising the bar, both
teachers trusted that their students would reach it. Other teachers could have raised the bar, but
because of the lack of trust between the teacher and the students, the teachers would not expect
anything, thus the students wouldn t do anything. Adding the element of trust to the equation made the
students realize that they were expected and trusted to meet

Daodejing Contradictions
The Daodejing is a collection of chapters from ancient China. The chapters explain why things happen
the way they do. In order to understand everything that exists and the way it exits, the Daoists explain
dao which means the way. The way helps people to find their way to excellence during a time of
turmoil and strife. Life as it is known is uncertain and unclear. Daodejing uses a non logical approach
to explain the uncertainties in life. The authors of this ancient text use contradictions to prove their
points because logic cannot always be used as a guide. Contradictions help to find balance and teach
people to live in a world without having a full understanding of things. According to chapter 15, it was

In the documentary, A Pleasure Unwoven, Dr. McCauley explains that until over a hundred years ago
doctors would usually try and treat the symptoms of a disease with poor outcomes and that most
diabetics died in early childhood (2009). It was not until the famous work of Louis Pasteur and Robert
Koch that doctors formulated what is known as the disease model (Lynch amp; Henifin, 1998). The
disease model is a causal model and works as follows:

Symptoms
By using this model we can see that if the organ was the pancreas, the defect Islet cell death (no
insulin), and the symptoms were elevated blood glucose, blurred vision, and coma, treating the
symptoms would get you nowhere. If, however, doctors were to treat the defect (no insulin) by using
insulin replacement therapy then the symptoms would recede and the disease would enter remission.

The State Of The Louisiana Territory
The purchasing of the Louisiana territory was not as easy of a business transaction as one might think.
It was a very rushed, stressful process that caused President Thomas Jefferson a considerable amount
of mental and emotional anguish. The problem that was the Louisiana purchase can be broken into
three parts: Jefferson s dilemma, Jefferson s decision, and the consequences. The Louisiana Purchase
was one of the most influential events in American history because it helped not only double the size
of the US in the early 1800s, but also helped the United States economy prosper. Some events cannot

In this country s great history, there have been many important expeditions, discoveries, and wonders.
One of the most famous and important expeditions in this country s history is that of Lewis and Clark.
Within their great journey, the two men met countless obstacles, met many new and intriguing
cultures, and saw some of the most incredible land that God had ever made. After the purchase of the
Louisiana Territory from France, President Thomas Jefferson commissioned Meriwether Lewis and
William Clark to lead an expedition on a journey to explore the headwaters of the Missouri River and

and his party were under way down the Ohio River to meet up with Clark and his group. Together,
their group, known as the Corps of Discovery, departed from Camp DuBois near Wood River, Illinois,
on May 14, 1804, and proceeded up the Missouri River using a keelboat and two pirogues. By late
fall, the party reached the Knife River Indian Villages near present day Washburn, North Dakota.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of SLN
NLC were idealized to overcome inherent disadvantages of SLN. Entrapping structure is a blend of
solid and liquid, spatially incompatible, lipids that confers distinct characteristics of NLC when
compared with other lipid NPs [80]. Indeed, since the matrix of the lipids composing the
nanostructured lipid carriers is more amorphous than for SLN, association efficiency is higher and
offers a slower release [81]. The nanodroplet of liquid lipid, containing most of the drug to entrap,
becomes dispersed within the solid lipid, granting a slower migration of drug to the outer phase and,
therefore, a higher entrapment that lasts longer.
It was suggested that using NLC to carry and delivery domperidone in the buccal cavity could lead to

In order to develop and optimize polymeric NPs as buccal delivery systems, Pistone et al. chose
chitosan, pectin and alginate as matrixpolymers and tripolyphosphate and zinc as negative and
positive counterions, respectively [90]. The polymer:counterion proportion was thoroughly studied to
achieve the most stable and suitable particles for buccal delivery. The stability was determined by
assessing nanoparticle aggregation and disintegration in contact with simulated salivary fluid, along
with the variation of polydispersity index, hydrodynamic diameter and zeta potential. It was observed
that alginate NPs presented good stability during 120 min in contact with artificial saliva since some
parameters did not significantly vary throughout of the course of the assay. Even though the chelation
of zinc ions would be expected due to the high content of phosphates in artificial saliva, so it was
suggested that the presence of calcium in the dispersion media prevented the zinc chelation and
maintained the structure of alginate NPs intact, as expected to occur in vivo [91]. The size of pectin
NPs significantly decreased (with consequent variation of polydispersity index) after contact with
artificial saliva, indicating either erosion and/or shrinking due to the formation of additional cross
linking with the ions present in the artificial saliva. The size

Aspects Of Abortion In Ethical Medical Practices
The Moral Aspects of Abortion in Ethical Medical Practices
Although moral degradation among the youth in the United States portrays abortion as a vice that robs
innocent infants the right to life, ethical medical practices may indicate abortion as a life saving
procedure. While there may exist unsafe and unprofessional means of medically performing abortion
among adolescent girls, ethical medical practices may regulate the risks involved such as health
complications and death, in order to promote the health benefits of abortion. Since there exist
medically upright physicians motivated by a noble course, the adverse effects of abortion in young
women may be controlled through professional services without much health risks and exploitation.
Therefore, it is empirical that the high rate of fetal, teenage and youthful women death rate through
unwanted pregnancy which leads to a disputing perception of abortion may be corrected through
principled medical practices.

Analysis Of A Prayer For My Daughter
What if those things the greatest of mankind Consider most to magnify, or to bless, But take our
greatness with bitterness? (Yeats 110). As David A. Ross writes in his book, Critical Companion to
William Butler Yeats: A Literary Reference to His Life and Work, ancestral houses were perpetual
symbols of tradition, ceremony, and aristocratic strength of character (Ross 45) for Yeats. The
anxieties about his ancestral line and preservation of high culture that plagued Yeats in his later years
are best illustrated in the poem, A Prayer for My Daughter. Written in 1919, just days after the birth of
his daughter Anne and in the midst of the Anglo Irish War, the poem lays out the future Yeats wishes

He writes that he does not want her to have beauty to make a stranger s eye distraught (Yeats 90). His
use of the word distraught underlines his belief that excessive beauty is a curse since it has the
capacity to trouble and agitate others. Especially if they cannot possess this beauty, like the
aforementioned stranger. Additionally, he worries that if his daughter is too beautiful, she will not be
concerned goodness and virtue because she will view her favorable appearance as a sufficient end
(Yeats 91). His allusions to the mythical characters Helen of Troy and Aphrodite are twofold. He
refences them to highlight how, although they both possess unparalleled beauty, they both had had
foolish and unappealing husbands and, as a result, unhappy lives riddled with conflict. Additionally,
the mention of Aphrodite as fatherless stresses the importance he places role as a father to teach his
daughter to be righteous. However, this stanza is also a veiled allusion to his unrequited love, Maud
Gonne who had tumultuous marriage with the Irish nationalist John MacBride. He believes that
Gonne, like the beautiful women of Greek antiquity, misused the power their beauty granted them.
Essentially, he wants his daughter to be the opposite of Maud Gonne, not only to save her from the
harshness of the world but also to save people from the spell that

Another way playtime benefit children is by allowing children they are communicative about their

be able to see what children are thinking, since they are unable to express themselves as deep as adults
can. Also it allows parents with these sorts of children, to be able to communicate with their, to see the

parents know what might be wrong with their children, so that they can be in a good psychological
state. Another way playtime helps children psychology is that it helps children learn leadership skills,
group skills, how to share, how to deal and solve conflicts and how to negotiate. These skills that are
very important but cannot be taught through sitting in a classroom doing math or reading a book are
taught through play. Children need to learn these because they are later use in classrooms, in their
future jobs and in everyday life, we learn them by playing. The more playtime is eliminated from
children s everyday routine the less likely they are of learning this important live lessons, so now
school boards want to send children out into the world with all of the academic skills necessary but

Difference Between The Waterfall And The V Model Essay

the Waterfall Model. Both the Waterfall and the V Method are sequential methods, which means every
phase must be completed before moving onto the next step. The main difference between the Waterfall
and the V Model is that the V Model has a testing phase for each development phase. The V Model is
split into two parts; the Verification phases, and the Validation phases (Tutorials Point). The left part of
the V Model is known as the Verification side. The following steps are apart of the Verification phase:
requirement analysis, system design, architectural design, and the module design. The requirement
analysis phase involves the customer in which they explain what is expected in the final product. The
system design phase is where the team members analyze and understand the requirements and a
blueprint is formed. The architectural design phase, also known as high level design, is the designing
of the hardware and software to be implemented. The module design phase, also known as the low
level design, is where the internal design for the system is agreed upon. All these steps have a

Compare And Contrast Martin Luther Vs Machiavelli
Man of Politics and Man of Faith
When someone asks what should an individual do? , everyone is bound to have different answers due
to the nature of the question, because each answers would be on the basis of his or her own philosophy
and language he or she uses while explaining. The philosophy makes a point and that synthesized with
the language, one makes a direction of his or her argument. To point out for the two men, Niccolo
Machiavelli starts with a philosophy that people are gullible and wicked (Chapter XVIII), and Martin
Luther starts with a philosophy that people can be born again from man of flesh desires to a man of
faith if he truly believes in Christ and work toward helping others. Also, Machiavelli speaks in
political language, when Luther speaks in religious language. This two men differ immensely on topic

not similar in subject of treatment of others; Machiavelli preaches one to work for calculated self
interest even if it accompanies using deceit strategically, when Luther preaches one to work for
selflessness and faithfulness to achieve inner greatness and concordance with neighbors when
interacting. First, Machiavelli and Luther differ in that former teaches that deceit is permissible for
greater good and the latter teaches that truly and selflessly is essential for the same reason.

Kate O Hare, Jack London, And Assata Shakur
The American judicial system is one that convicts and incarcerate prisoners for various crimes. When
someone commits a crime, it is the judicial system s responsibility to enforce and apply the laws.
Under United States legislation, criminals are innocent until proven guilty in a court trial, but the
judicial system during the twentieth century did not properly give them fair trials. Instead, the court
system convicted many prisoners guilty of crimes they supposedly committed. This situation created
the start of a new and corrupt judicial system because prisoners could not plead their case in court.
Kate O Hare, Jack London, and Assata Shakur provide an accurate and historical view of the
American judicial system as unethical because many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of convicts receiving fair trials and being treated equally, the judicial system discriminated
against poverty stricken people and allowed brutal treatment and conditions. Prisons in America
contained a high percentage of poor people because they could not afford bail or lawyers. The judicial
system had no respect towards the poor because they were viewed as uneducated people. Since the
rich had the finances to pay for lawyers and bail, they were less likely to be incarcerated. Money
showed respect, intelligence, and power for wealthy people. Besides discrimination being an issue for
the judicial system, unfair trials for convicts also occurred. Prisoners were not given the chance to
plead guilty or not guilty in a courtroom because they did not have lawyers appointed to them. The
judge solely decided whether to convict a criminal guilty or not guilty of the crime they supposedly
committed. It was common for prisoners to be incarcerated for crimes they never committed because
the judicial system allowed unfair trials. Prisoners experienced brutal and inhumane treatments and
conditions that include physical abuse, unsanitary living environments, and the possibility of
contracting diseases. The judicial system selfishly altered the laws for their own well being. They
benefitted from the changes and were never held accountable for the acts they allowed and committed.

Jeffersonian Republicanism vs. Jacksonian Democracy
Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson were two influential political figures in two very different eras,
ranging from 1800 1808 and 1808 1840 respectively, that established two very different political
philosophies. Each formed their own system that helped shape the way people think about American
government. Liberalism is a political philosophy that goes against the established status quo at the
time in order for change, where as a conservative is one which adheres to principles established by
that same status quo. The Jeffersonian Republicans image of the common man was one vested in the
educated and independent farmer, who by no stretch of the imagine had the capabilities to serve in

Jackson forced thousands of Native Americans to march from Georgia to Oklahoma on the infamous
Trail of Tears with his Indian Removal Act, thus showing his hatred for the Native Americans (Brands,

education. They believed that schools restricted individual liberty by interfering with parental
responsibility. The importance of the Jacksonian Era was not that the gap between rich and poor had
narrowed, but that there were now few barriers that prevented people from gaining wealth and power.
Because Jackson eradicated the Indian threat (a major concern for common people), and belittled the
importance education, his party symbolized that a man could come from nothing, and become
president, which was a source of inspiration and hope for the common man. Both Jefferson and
Jackson did what they felt would economically benefit the common man however Jeffersons
maintenance of the Hamiltonian economic system, which benefited the upper class, did less for the

contextual fear memory compared with vehicle infused animals (saline, n=18) when tested 24 hours
after CFC training (DF=28, F=7.19, t test: p 0.05) (Figure 2A). Surprisingly, irrespective of the overall
decrease in freezing percentage, mice injected with anisomycin did not show any statistical difference
in the level of freezing within the first 2 minutes of the test (Figure 2B). By the third minute of testing,
ANI injected mice show a significant decrease in their level of freezing, showing statistical significant
differences until the end of the test (drug × memory minutes of test DF=28, F=13.16, t test p 0.01;

new protein synthesis at PrL cortex is critical for the encoding of contextual fear memories.
To further understand new protein synthesis at PFC, we asked whether other subregions of PFC are
also critical for encoding of contextual fear memories. To address this question, we studied the role of
cingulate cortex 1 (CG1) region of PFC in encoding. We injected anisomycin to inhibit protein
synthesis at CG1. Four separate groups of animals received anisomycin and saline infusions into the

The sad truth about social security benefits is that it is bleeding itself dry and if reforms aren t made
there is a real possibility that today s children and young working adults will not have benefits to
collect on. The age to receive full benefits keeps getting pushed back further. Our retirement package
can be reduced by increasing the age of retirement, which has already been done and illustrated further
in this paper. People are living longer so we are paying benefits longer, but didn t take into account
rising health care and cost of living expenses. The way things stand as of now we are bankrupting the
younger generations. The social security fund will be depleted by the year 2034. Though money will
continue to flow into Social Security through payroll tax and tax on benefits this is only projected to
cover three fourths of the full benefit. Americans need to provide for their self a retirement plan of
their own and include potential for disability needs. However, you need to be mindful not to make too
much money if you are working while collecting because you then could be taxed on your social
security benefits and making too much will decrease the amount you are eligible for.
If you take Social Security benefits while you are still working, you are going to want to keep your
earnings below $15,720. Making anymore then this earnings limit while collecting Social Security

Urvashi Butaliaia After Partition
Recent feminist historiography by scholars like Urvashi Butalia has demonstrated that amid Partition,
abducting women from the other group turned into a typical approach to shame the
Muslim/Hindu/Sikh other; the apportionment of ladies from the other group was an approach to
influence the collective honor, religious sentiment and the physical propagation of that group. This
was the condition of the state after Partition. Nationalist discourse not just developed women as agents
of ethnic community and honor; they additionally just valorised the Hindu/Sikh woman who, under
danger of assault or kidnapping, conferred suicide and in this way shielded her honor. As obvious in

The merchants were also fairly outraged because they saw this as a monopoly for the selling of tea in
the colonies. So, colonists were infuriated and refused to allow the East India Company tea to be
shipped into the colonies. They saw this as their most effective form of resistance to the taxation. In
fact, the Sons of Liberty began to threaten the shippers who had to bring the tea into the colonies.
There was a particular event in Boston that captured the Parliament s attention. On December 16,
1773 an organized band of men who had disguised themselves as Indians, rushed onto the Dartmouth
ship along with two other ships and began to empty 342 chests of tea into the Boston harbor. This
allowed for the loss of nine thousand pounds (approximately eighteen thousand U.S. dollars) of profit
for the British East India Company and is known as the Boston Tea Party. Similar events occurred in
Annapolis, Maryland in 1774 where the residents forced merchants to burn their own ships. While this
was event was awful, it was the Boston Tea Party that inspired the Parliament s angry reaction. The
reaction drawn from the Parliament was the Intolerable Acts which can be known as an American term
for both the Quebec and Coercive Acts. The Coercive Act was created in the spring of 1774. This act
included the Boston Port Act, the Massachusetts Government Act, the Administration of Justice Act,
and the Quartering Act. The Boston Port Act was first effective on June 1, 1774. This act closed

Government Apologies In Canada
In A Sorry State by Mitch Miagawa, Brian Mulroney is quoted as saying, Apologies are the only way
to cleanse the past. There is controversy surrounding whether this quotation can be taken as truth or
fiction. Government apologies have become a very common staple in Canadian society, and in my
opinion, have been drained of their meaning. Mulroney s statement is simply not reflective of the
values and beliefs of majority of Canadians. Words cannot and will not accurately heal and reconcile
all affected parties.
Brian Mulroney implies that apologies are the only way to move forward. Referring to his apology for

Apologies are for the person or group that is making amends, not for the person or group that was
negatively affected. The apology lifts the weight of burden off of the redressing parties shoulders,
allowing them to suddenly state, Not my problem. The attempt to make amends can are just words
nothing more. Actions speak louder than words and healing is not an easy process, as First Nations
journalist James Sinclair describes in his article, To Own Ourselves, Money, resources, and time may
help, but none of these will ultimately do the job. Referring to the healing process, he continues by
voicing that No apology, no words, and certainly no time in parliament will give healing. Likewise,
apologies cannot re write the past, let alone cleanse the past. It is crucial to not part with history, and
to positively re build trust and relationships, therefor making both ends meet. Reconciliation must take
place by educating other generations. In other words, the government must not just say sorry, they
must be sorry. When discriminatory and prejudiced behaviours take place, it is obvious that apologies
are more of a formality than a genuine expression of regret. Full closure may never be reached, nor
will an apology alleviate pain experienced by those who are negatively

The Spartans and Trojans showed no specific way of formation when fighting, which shows similarity

Marxism And Realism
Realism, Marxism, and the U.S. North Korean foreign policy

the supreme leader provides defense in the form of nuclear weapons, and cheap power from nuclear

There are a number of different reasons for urinary tract obstruction. This can include pregnancy,
cancer, fungus balls, ureterocele, ureteral strictures, tuberculosis and neurogenic bladder. (Chris, n.d.).
There are a number of symptoms that should raise concern for pyonephrosis. This can include: flank
pain, fever, nausea and vomiting, little or no urine and a weak and narrow urine stream. The symptoms
of peritonitis, abdominal pain, tenderness, abdominal distension, diarrhea or constipation with the
inability to pass gas may also be present.
Sepsis is common in severe untreated cases, especially in immunocompromised patients. Apart from
the other symptoms mentioned above, there may also be rapid heart rate and a rapid breathing rate in
sepsis. When the mental status is altered and the blood pressure is very low, severe sepsis or septic
shock has arisen and death is a very likely consequence (Chris, n.d.).
Blood and urine tests are the main investigations to diagnose pyonephrosis along with the clinical
presentation and the patient s medical history. When urine cannot be collected due to the obstruction, a
sample has to be removed from the collecting system of the kidney.
Blood tests can include a complete blood count (CBC), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine and
a blood culture. Urine tests include a urinalysis and a urine culture. All of these tests help to determine
pyonephrosis (Chris, n.d.). Sonographic findings suggestive of pyonephrosis include

The Weyden and Pontormo paintings both are trying to depict a similar story in different styles. In
Weyden s piece the first thing you notice different from the Pontormo is the colors. In Weyden s piece
the colors pop right out you since he used harsh bright colors for their clothing. Unlike Pontormo
where he used very soft angelic colors like the pink and light blue and peachy colors. My eyes are
attracted to the Weyden more than Pontormo even if its older because it looks so much more realistic
than Pontormo. The drapery in Weyden s piece is very realistic as it falls on the bodies of each human
standing or falling. The shadows of the drape make them look real as if you can pick them up directly
from the painting. In Pontormo the drapery is more of a flowing feel to it. You can tell where it sits but

In the Weyden piece the emotions are very upfront. They seem very upset at the sight of God sacrifice.

Reducing Medication Errors During Long Term Care Facility...
Reducing Medication Errors in Long Term Care Facility
One of the critical core components of Skilled Nursing Facility is medication administration. As cited
by Tenhunen, Tanner, and Dahlen (2014), they stated that 88% of the residents living in the nursing
homes are aged 65 years old and older. They discussed that every five of administered medications in
nursing home has one probability of error. This means that about half of the residents have the
possibility of two or more medication errors daily. This applies to the Pasadena Care Center (PCC)
because its residents are mostly older adults who require medications on a daily basis. Moreover,
residents are prescribed with multiple medications, which make them vulnerable to medication errors.
The staff at PCC is trying their best to ensure safe medication administration, however, it still in need
of a major change. The goal of the proposed change is to decrease the medication errors in this
organization to ensure patient safety.
Background
The PCC is a Skilled Nursing Facility and is licensed for 99 beds. It provides specialized care services
ranging from short term, long term, and hospice care. The residents come from different racial
background and were diagnosed with acute to chronic medical conditions. The majority of residents
are older adults and often taking numerous medications, which put them at risk for medication errors.

Developing And Creating Medication From Pharmaceutical...
Writing Assignment Introduction: Developing and creating medication is a lengthy and costly process
that may take as long as 10 12 years and cost upwards of $1 2 billion dollar to bring a medication from
research to production into the market. Once in the market, the patent law only protects the intellectual
property for an additional 10 12 years before generic drugs flood the market. Give the time and cost of
creating a new medication from start to finish, it is understandable that most pharmaceutical
companies are hesitant to invest time and resources into so called Orphan disease. These are the
disease that are rare and not very well studied or investigated in medical lecture yet it effects several
thousands individuals worldwide. Therefore most pharmaceutical companies focus their resources on
disease or conditions that are more common in general public and that will bring them huge revenue.
Consequently, sexual dysfunction, high blood pressure and lipid lowering drugs are the favorite
revenue generating medications that have attracted most of the R D money from pharmaceutical
companies in the recent years. Many people expect pharmaceutical companies to do more to combat
disease in poor countries. With record breaking revenue on some of the blockbuster drugs, many
individuals would like to see more from an industry that is favoring certain money making diseases

that are factually more distinct, as Carbone involved a state favoring a single private business and our
case involves simply a government pursuing a legitimate interest, not for profit nor to favor any
private entity. C A Carbone v. Town of Clarkstown, 511 U.S. 383, 387 (1994). Petitioners concede that
they are strictly in the business for profit. And it s a widely known fact that when people engage in
endeavors solely for profit that usually remains their preoccupation. Besides, all private providers,
both in state and out of staters are free without restriction to operate in all other regions of the state
where there are no state run facilities. Nevertheless, the regulation is strictly nondiscriminatory and
absolutely does not impose an undue burden on interstate commerce far from it. Our instant case is
analogous to United Haulers Ass n v. Oneida Hertimer Solid Waste Mgmt. Auth. where the County
required all waste collectors to deliver all solid waste to processing facilities that are operated by a
public entity. There, the court held that such regulation did not violate the commerce clause because
the ordinance clearly benefited only a public facility, while treating all private companies exactly the
same. Like in United Haulers, the regulation here treats

Essay on Gilbert Ryle’s The Concept of Mind
Gilbert Ryle s The Concept of Mind
Gilbert Ryle s The Concept of Mind (1949) is a critique of the notion that the mind is distinct from the
body, and is a rejection of the philosophical theory that mental states are distinct from physical states.
Ryle argues that the traditional approach to the relation of mind and body (i.e., the approach which is
taken by the philosophy of Descartes) assumes that there is a basic distinction between Mind and
Matter. According to Ryle, this assumption is a basic category mistake, because it attempts to analyze
the relation betwen mind and body as if they were terms of the same logical category. Furthermore,
Ryle argues that traditional Idealism makes a basic category mistake by trying to ... Show more

There are no mental processes which are distinct from intelligent acts. The operations of the mind are
not merely represented by intelligent acts, but are the same as intelligent acts. Thus, an act of
remembering, dreaming, knowing, or willing is not merely a clue to some hidden mental process or
intellectual operation, it is how that mental process or intellectual operation is defined. A logical
proposition is not merely a clue to a particular mode of reasoning, it is that mode of reasoning.
Ryle rejects the doctrine that the will is a faculty within the mind, and the doctrine that volitions are
mental processes which the human body transforms into physical acts. Ryle explains that this doctrine
is an example of the myth that mental acts are distinct from physical acts, and of the myth that there is
a mental world which is distinct from the physical world. This doctrine of separation between mind
and body is referred to by Ryle as the dogma of the ghost in the machine. Ryle argues that there is no
ghostly, invisible entity called the mind inside a mechanical apparatus called the body. The workings
of the mind are not an independent mechanism which governs the workings of the body. The workings
of the mind are not distinct from the actions of the body, but are conceptualized as a way of explaining
the actions of the body.
Ryle argues that, according to the traditional theory of the mind, mental acts are regarded as causing

Dulce Et Decorum Est Diction
Death in Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen is portrayed through the use of vivid imagery. The
poet makes the reader seem as if he is present at the event due to the use of figurative language used to
portray death. He creates a horrendous image by the use of diction. The use of alliteration, watch the
white eyes writhing in his face, (line 19) creates an image of the face of a young man disfiguring. The
diction in line 20, like a devil sick of sin, accentuates that humans are much crueller than the devil
himself. Owen uses these literary devices to show us the horror the poet witnessed. The blood, come
gargling from the froth corrupted lungs (line21 22) is onomatopoeia which creates audio imagery.
Owen is trying to show you (line 21) how it sounded as the soldier was struggling to catch ... Show

The tone in the octave is strong and violent to demonstrate the cruelty of war. The octave begins with
passing bells, (line 1) which are bells that were used to announce a death during the early 1900 s. This
is then followed by a simile, who die as cattle, where Owen compares the young men at war to cattle.
It creates an image of war being a slaughter house for young men and that their death doesn t conjure
much sorrow. In the sestet Owen writes in their eyes shall shine the holy glimmers of goodbyes
(line10 11). Here Owen creates an emotional image by the use of calm words to create a mourning
mood. It shows that the families of the fallen soldiers crying for their loved ones have died. Owen then
symbolises death as a drawing down of blinds at dusk (line 16). Dusk is the time of the day when the
sun is about to set and this is when most people pull down the blinds of their home. It shows that the
day has come to an end. This is the last line of the sonnet and it has great significance. It symbolises
the end of the sonnet and also the death of a

Diagnosis After having carefully read the Metric Division Case, and having well in mind the Open Systems Model exposed by Cummings and Worley in The Essentials of Organization Development and Change, I think that as an OD professional I would choose to examine this case at the Group Level. Throughout the text, it seems pretty clear that the division and the staff encounter some problems that are typically related to the design component of the Open System Model at the group level. If we carefully analyse the Metric Division issues, we can clearly identify that the major issues are located at the group level. goal clarity , which describes the extent to which group understands ... A lot of staff members were complaining that meetings were often ineffective in the way they were organized. Regarding that matters, staff members highlight the fact that they rarely solve any issues during meetings Meetings seem to be a waste of time in terms of moving the business ahead . It appears to be mainly due to the lack of organization and agenda during meetings. Conversation often last for ever without specifically speaking about the problems per say. We said that Task Structure was equivalent to the way the group s work is designed. Meetings are supposed to help the group s work to be designed. The problem really is that there is no structure enabling the group s work to be designed. Staff meetings are apparently not structured enough. No systematic approach is clearly set which adds another hindrance to the already too large staff member s amount. As no structure is really present when conducting meetings, priorities of issues are often blurry and no solutions clearly emerge. Minor and minor issues are addressed with almost the same importance; everybody is allowed to talk which inevitably leads to a total confusion and therefore a clear lack of effectiveness. In fact, Svante August Arrhenius, a Swedish chemist, first predicted global warming would occur in 1896 (Harris 16). Researchers who agree it is naturally caused insist the greenhouse effect has many natural causes. Others agree that the cause of the Earth s increase in temperature is just part of a continuous cycle. These researchers argue that solar activity plays a huge role in the issue of global warming. Therefore, based upon the myth of the greenhouse effect, cyclical patterns, and research on solar activity, global warming is not a man made dilemma. When greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere, similar to the way greenhouse panes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The greenhouse effect will continue naturally. Methane makes up thirteen percent of greenhouse gases (Hopwood Cohen 2). Wetlands are accountable for most of the natural methane concentrations polluted into the air because they contain bacteria that produce this gas during decomposition (Sources and Emissions 5). For this reason methane is often called swamp gas (Hopwood Cohen 6). As part of their digestive process, termites release methane. Also, Oceans, rivers, and estuaries are populated with marine plankton and fish that create methane when they digest too(Sources and Emissions 5). Cows breathe out methane when they burp (Harris 10). Natural hydrates, mud volcanoes, gryphons, steam vents, wildfires, wild animals and bubbling hot springs expel methane in nature(Sources and Emissions 6). The causes of methane emissions are limitless, but it is evident that it is not a manageable greenhouse gas. The final greenhouse gas, nitrous oxide, is laughing gas. It is colorless, has a sweet sent, and makes up six percent of the total greenhouse gases. Naturally, it is discharged from oceans and bacteria that populate in soils. It can also be found in human and animal waste. Since 1750, nitrous oxide levels have been on the rise. Although nitrous oxide does not contribute to the greenhouse gases as much as carbon dioxide and methane do, it is important to suppress this gas because it remains in the atmosphere for a very long time (Hopwood Cohen 7). ... Both creating characters, stories, and lores, that will surely stand the test of time. Creating references and influencing our pop culture to great lenghts. However, it is quite evident which of the two companies has had, not just the most successful run, but the most influential run. Detective Comics, better known as DC, is superior due it s content, film production, and overall impact on history. First of all, DC comics has some of the most recognized icons and characters. Just to name a few, there is Batman and his infamous The Batsignal . The Batsignal first appeared in the February 1942, in the comic book Detective Comics #60. DC comics also have the rights to Superman, one of its first comic book superheroes, a well known icon. DC has a great collections of characters, and a plethora of superheroes. Jason Derulo s song The Other Side can define an American individual s longing to find someone else to complete themselves. An American individual is someone who falls in love without even trying. It begins with the friendship of two people, then slowly escalates to something more meaningful. If the individuals agree it is the right move for them to become a couple, ignoring the feeling of doubt and the fear of losing the other one, then it will happen. Mr. Trump had to go and defend himself like any person would and he said Number one, I am the least anti semitic person that you have ever seen. That is the line everyone is freaking out about. Entrapping structure is a blend of solid and liquid, spatially incompatible, lipids that confers distinct characteristics of NLC when compared with other lipid NPs [80]. Indeed, since the matrix of the lipids composing the nanostructured lipid carriers is more amorphous than for SLN, association efficiency is higher and offers a slower release [81]. The nanodroplet of liquid lipid, containing most of the drug to entrap, becomes dispersed within the solid lipid, granting a slower migration of drug to the outer phase and, therefore, a higher entrapment that lasts longer. The stability was determined by assessing nanoparticle aggregation and disintegration in contact with simulated salivary fluid, along with the variation of polydispersity index, hydrodynamic diameter and zeta potential. It was observed that alginate NPs presented good stability during 120 min in contact with artificial saliva since some parameters did not significantly vary throughout of the course of the assay. Even though the chelation of zinc ions would be expected due to the high content of phosphates in artificial saliva, so it was suggested that the presence of calcium in the dispersion media prevented the zinc chelation and maintained the structure of alginate NPs intact, as expected to occur in vivo [91]. The size of pectin NPs significantly decreased (with consequent variation of polydispersity index) after contact with artificial saliva, indicating either erosion and/or shrinking due to the formation of additional cross linking with the ions present in the artificial saliva. While there may exist unsafe and unprofessional means of medically performing abortion among adolescent girls, ethical medical practices may regulate the risks involved such as health complications and death, in order to promote the health benefits of abortion. Since there exist medically upright physicians motivated by a noble course, the adverse effects of abortion in young women may be controlled through professional services without much health risks and exploitation. The anxieties about his ancestral line and preservation of high culture that plagued Yeats in his later years are best illustrated in the poem, A Prayer for My Daughter. Additionally, he worries that if his daughter is too beautiful, she will not be concerned goodness and virtue because she will view her favorable appearance as a sufficient end (Yeats 91). Many of these ways are known as models or methodologies. Most of these models stem from the SDLC, or the Software Development Life Cycle (Tutorials Point). One of these alternative models is known as the V Model or V Method. The V Model is an SDLC model that is also based on the Waterfall Model. Both the Waterfall and the V Method are sequential methods, which means every phase must be completed before moving onto the next step. The main difference between the Waterfall and the V Model is that the V Model has a testing phase for each development phase. The V Model is split into two parts; the Verification phases, and the Validation phases (Tutorials Point). The left part of the V Model is known as the Verification side. The following steps are apart of the Verification phase: requirement analysis, system design, architectural design, and the module design. The requirement analysis phase involves the customer in which they explain what is expected in the final product. The system design phase is where the team members analyze and understand the requirements and a blueprint is formed. The architectural design phase, also known as high level design, is the designing of the hardware and software to be implemented. The module design phase, also known as the low level design, is where the internal design for the system is agreed upon. All these steps have a Validation Phase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since the rich had the finances to pay for lawyers and bail, they were less likely to be incarcerated. Money showed respect, intelligence, and power for wealthy people. Surprisingly, irrespective of the overall decrease in freezing percentage, mice injected with anisomycin did not show any statistical difference in the level of freezing within the first 2 minutes of the test (Figure 2B). By the third minute of testing, ANI injected mice show a significant decrease in their level of freezing, showing statistical significant differences until the end of the test (drug × memory minutes of test DF=28, F=13.16, t test p 0.01; DF=28, F=7.66, t test p 0.01; DF=28, F=5.46, t test p 0.05) (Figure 2B). On December 16, 1773 an organized band of men who had disguised themselves as Indians, rushed onto the Dartmouth ship along with two other ships and began to empty 342 chests of tea into the Boston harbor. This allowed for the loss of nine thousand pounds (approximately eighteen thousand U.S. dollars) of profit for the British East India Company and is known as the Boston Tea Party. Similar events occurred in Annapolis, Maryland in 1774 where the residents forced merchants to burn their own ships. While this was event was awful, it was the Boston Tea Party that inspired the Parliament s angry reaction. The reaction drawn from the Parliament was the Intolerable Acts which can be known as an American term for both the Quebec and Coercive Acts. The Coercive Act was created in the spring of 1774. This act included the Boston Port Act, the Massachusetts Government Act, the Administration of Justice Act, and the Quartering Act. The Boston Port Act was first effective on June 1, 1774. • 30. Government Apologies In Canada In A Sorry State by Mitch Miagawa, Brian Mulroney is quoted as saying, Apologies are the only way to cleanse the past. There is controversy surrounding whether this quotation can be taken as truth or fiction. Government apologies have become a very common staple in Canadian society, and in my opinion, have been drained of their meaning. Mulroney s statement is simply not reflective of the values and beliefs of majority of Canadians. Words cannot and will not accurately heal and reconcile all affected parties. Brian Mulroney implies that apologies are the only way to move forward. The apology lifts the weight of burden off of the redressing parties shoulders, allowing them to suddenly state, Not my problem. The attempt to make amends can are just words nothing more. Actions speak louder than words and healing is not an easy process, as First Nations journalist James Sinclair describes in his article, To Own Ourselves, Money, resources, and time may help, but none of these will ultimately do the job. Referring to the healing process, he continues by voicing that No apology, no words, and certainly no time in parliament will give healing. Likewise, apologies cannot re write the past, let alone cleanse the past. It is crucial to not part with history, and to positively re build trust and relationships, therefor making both ends meet. Reconciliation must take place by educating other generations. In other words, the government must not just say sorry, they must be sorry. When discriminatory and prejudiced behaviours take place, it is obvious that apologies are more of a formality than a genuine expression of regret. The Iliad, by Homer, and Destino, by Walt Disney and Salvador Dali are similar because the curious girl in Destino and Helen in The Iliad both choose a partner from many options, there are stereotypical gender roles present, and there are symbols of hope used. This can include: flank pain, fever, nausea and vomiting, little or no urine and a weak and narrow urine stream. The symptoms of peritonitis, abdominal pain, tenderness, abdominal distension, diarrhea or constipation with the inability to pass gas may also be present. Sepsis is common in severe untreated cases, especially in immunocompromised patients. Apart from the other symptoms mentioned above, there may also be rapid heart rate and a rapid breathing rate in sepsis. When the mental status is altered and the blood pressure is very low, severe sepsis or septic shock has arisen and death is a very likely consequence (Chris, n.d.). Blood and urine tests are the main investigations to diagnose pyonephrosis along with the clinical presentation and the patient s medical history. When urine cannot be collected due to the obstruction, a sample has to be removed from the collecting system of the kidney. Blood tests can include a complete blood count (CBC), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine and a blood culture. Urine tests include a urinalysis and a urine culture. In Weyden s piece the first thing you notice different from the Pontormo is the colors. In Weyden s piece the colors pop right out you since he used harsh bright colors for their clothing. Unlike Pontormo where he used very soft angelic colors like the pink and light blue and peachy colors. My eyes are attracted to the Weyden more than Pontormo even if its older because it looks so much more realistic than Pontormo. The drapery in Weyden s piece is very realistic as it falls on the bodies of each human standing or falling. The shadows of the drape make them look real as if you can pick them up directly from the painting. In Pontormo the drapery is more of a flowing feel to it. You can tell where it sits but it isn t as realistic and looks as if they were angels helping God up. In the Weyden piece the emotions are very upfront. Reducing Medication Errors in Long Term Care Facility One of the critical core components of Skilled Nursing Facility is medication administration. As cited by Tenhunen, Tanner, and Dahlen (2014), they stated that 88% of the residents living in the nursing homes are aged 65 years old and older. The state of Eastland s waste disposal regulation is neither discriminatory nor protectionist. A state government does not violate the commerce clause when it sets licensing requirements for incineration and interment of fetal tissues pursuant to its autonomy and police powers in carrying out local activities that have always been its traditional function to ensure the health and safety of its citizens. C A Carbone v. Town of Clarkstown, 511 U.S. 383, 387 (1994). Petitioners concede that they are strictly in the business for profit. And it s a widely known fact that when people engage in endeavors solely for profit that usually remains their preoccupation. Besides, all private providers, both in state and out of staters are free without restriction to operate in all other regions of the state where there are no state run facilities. Essay on Gilbert Ryle’s The Concept of Mind Gilbert Ryle s The Concept of Mind Gilbert Ryle s The Concept of Mind (1949) is a critique of the notion that the mind is distinct from the body, and is a rejection of the philosophical theory that mental states are distinct from physical states. Ryle argues that the traditional approach to the relation of mind and body (i.e., the approach which is taken by the philosophy of Descartes) assumes that there is a basic distinction between Mind and Matter. According to Ryle, this assumption is a basic category mistake, because it attempts to analyze the relation betwen mind and body as if they were terms of the same logical category. Furthermore, Ryle argues that traditional Idealism makes a basic category mistake by trying to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are no mental processes which are distinct from intelligent acts. The operations of the mind are not merely represented by intelligent acts, but are the same as intelligent acts. Thus, an act of remembering, dreaming, knowing, or willing is not merely a clue to some hidden mental process or intellectual operation, it is how that mental process or intellectual operation is defined. A logical proposition is not merely a clue to a particular mode of reasoning, it is that mode of reasoning. Ryle rejects the doctrine that the will is a faculty within the mind, and the doctrine that volitions are mental processes which the human body transforms into physical acts. Ryle explains that this doctrine is an example of the myth that mental acts are distinct from physical acts, and of the myth that there is a mental world which is distinct from the physical world. This doctrine of separation between mind and body is referred to by Ryle as the dogma of the ghost in the machine. Ryle argues that there is no ghostly, invisible entity called the mind inside a mechanical apparatus called the body. The workings of the mind are not an independent mechanism which governs the workings of the body. The workings of the mind are not distinct from the actions of the body, but are conceptualized as a way of explaining the actions of the body.
