Review on My Name Is Khan
To write a review about a film which contains not only the magical combo of Shahrukh Khan
Kajol Karan Johar but also something different from melodramatic love story or usual remake of
hardcore commercial film is pleasurable. My Name Is Khan has a excellent point to a class of
audience who likes to watch Shahrukh Khan in a different characteristic. But the filmdoes not show
the excellence enough to get a perfect worship from all audiences and critics.
In the movie Rizwan embarks on a touching journey and gets the true recognition of his love, love

an extra ordinary journey.
The movie has some points for which it can be appreciated.

The narrative style may influenced by The Shawshank Redemption and Godfellas. The ending is
quite good but it may be more gothic and more authentic. The journey of Khan may be showed
more smartly in accordance with happenings as sometime it has feel us melodramatic.
Cinematography is worthy off a hand of applause, specially using the background and wide angle
shot. Editing is fine. Thanks Ravi K. Chandran (director of photography) and Deepa Bhatia (editing)
Shankar Ehsan Loy has done a great job both in soundtrack and background score. Thanks to the
lyricist(Niranjan Iyengar and Javed Akhtar) The songs such as Noor e Khuda blend western bar
blues and techno sounds with Indian classical styles such as Sufi and Hindustani. The soundtrack
is thus representative of the indie fusion genre . Unlike Karan Johar s other films, this film has no
lip sync songs. All the songs are in background. Tere Naina is a good one.
In short The content of My Name Is Khan is diametrically opposite to whatever Karan Johar done
in the past. My Name Is Khan is not all about terrorism, or 9/11. It s about a relationship between
two people, between an individual and the State, and between an individual and the country. In
short, there the three important components: love story, Islam and a mild form of autism.

The Pros And Cons Of Plastics In Sri Lanka

The consumption of plastic increase because there are many development project and population

increasing plastics applications in automobile, transportation, defense and aerospace, medical and
healthcare,electronic devices, construction and furniture.(Tandel 2015).
In Sri Lanka, manufacturing of plastic consumer products and packages and industrial polymers is
a growing industry that developed over 45 years. Currently there are about 400 companies in Sri
Lanka involved in plastic industry. In addition, significant amount of plastic enters to Sri Lanka as
imported plastic products and goods. Sri Lanka imports about 500,000 metric tons of virgin plastic
in every year according to Central Environmental Authority (CEA). Per capita consumption of
plastic is about 6 kg per annum in Sri Lanka. Furthermore, the waste composition data showed that
plastic waste in municipal solid waste stream is about 5 to 15% which often ended up in dumpsite

Protestant Propaganda
Protestant Propaganda
What do you think of when you hear the name Ireland? Ireland is a relatively small island off the
coast of Great Britain with a land area of 32,424 square miles (Delaney 2). There are several things
that you may associate with this country such as St. Patrick s Day, shamrocks, beer, and strife. The
source of the bitterness behind this conflict began centuries ago, when Britain came over and forced
Protestantism on the Irish Catholic inhabitants. For this reason there has always been an animosity
between the Protestants and the Irish Catholics. The island is broken up into two distinct regions.
The Republic of Ireland consists of twenty six counties, which make up the southern ... Show more

This event gave the Catholics yet another reason to dislike the Unionists.
The Unionists also used crooked politics to ensure Protestant control. One way of doing this was
by gerrymandering the political district lines. For example, one ward was ninety percent Catholic
while the rest of the Catholics were scattered about in Protestant wards (Golway 280). By
dividing the districts this way it made the Catholic votes virtually meaningless. Then, the
Protestant controlled government passed the Civil Authorities Act. This Act granted the
government the right to search homes without a warrant, impose curfews, and randomly arrest
citizens even if no real crime had been committed. The Catholics were the ones who were
primarily oppressed by these laws. Other laws limited the education of Catholics, restricted them
from holding office, and they were also discriminated against on the job. Protestants filled many
of the positions leaving the Catholics jobless (Golway 280). This policy of discrimination helped
inflate the already high poverty rate in Ire that they could feed their family, they also had to worry
about curfews and being arrested for no apparent reason. This is not right. The government should
not be allowed to pass laws that would help single out a certain minority. This is an example of
how propaganda can be used in politics.
I do not agree with some of the methods used to spread

A Brief Note On The Indian And American Culture Using...
INTRODUCTION
This paper critically analysis academic articles relating to negotiation and conflict resolution in the
Indian and American culture using Hofstede s cross cultural model to identify the difference and
also the similarities between the two cultures. Hofstede s work on culture is the most widely cited
in existence (Bond 2002; Hofstede 1997). There are more than 164 definitions for this word alone.
Hofstede has provided definition for Culture A collective programming of the mind which
distinguishes one group from another patterns of thinking, feeling and acting (Hofstede 1980, 25)
The essay will also explain the different models used by the authors and discuss the agreements and
disagreements between their articles.
Negotiation Styles
Definition:
Culture is passed on from one generation to another. The word culture is as elastic as its meaning.
As mentioned before there are almost 164 or more definitions for this word alone.
Negotiation is defined as a strategic discussion that resolves an issue in a way that both parties find
acceptable . (Investopedia, 2010) It basically means reaching a win win situation for both parties.
Rubin and Brown (1975), defined negotiation as a process in which individuals work together to
formulate agreements about the issues in dispute. In the process of negotiation it is assumed that all
the parties are willing to communicate and to generate offers, counter offer, or both. Agreement
occurs if and only if the offers

Influence of Apple on Society
Influence of Apple
There is an incredibly small amount of companies that can claim part in completely changing a
consumer market. Even less can claim part in changing society. On the prestigious list of companies
who can make legitimate arguments for both of these groups, one stands out among the rest. Apple
Inc. has completely revolutionized society as well as their own market. Apple changed the entire
market of personal computers, innovating beyond what people even dreamed of, and Steve Jobs,
redefining the definition of a CEO. Apple is an iconic American company that is making a lasting
impression on society through their products and their story.
Part One: History of Apple
Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak first created Apple Inc. privately as Apple Computers. Both kept
themselves close to the most up to date technology of the time. Steve Wozniak began attending
meetings with the Homebrew Computer Club. New microcomputers were being presented at the
Homebrew meetings and Wozniak was inspired to build his own personal computer. The only
microcomputer CPU s available at the time were $170 $179 which translates to $745 $785 today.
Steve Jobs happened to be at that Homebrew meeting and approached his old friend to discuss his
product. Wozniak first designed the product as a hobby. He wanted to be able to innovate
technology and push forward toward future technology. Jobs, however, was also interested in
innovating technology, but was more focused on the business

Maturity may come at any age and time in a person s life. One moment he or she may be a carefree
child, and then suddenly realize that they have been transformed into a mature adult by a powerful
and traumatic experience. An experience they will remember their whole lives. Young David
Hayden, the narrator of Montana 1948 by Larry Watson, has a traumatic experience. He discovers

burden for a twelve year old boy, especially since it reveals that his beloved Uncle Frank is the bad

Young David Hayden grows in morals due to the shocking events of the summer of 1948.
Consequently, David learns a great lesson about morals from all the episodes that occur. Marie
is found dead a few days after Frank goes in to see her. Frank claims she died of pneumonia.
David s next door neighbor, Daisy McAuley, goes to their house to comfort Gail. Daisy treats
David maternally and wants him to leave the scene of the crime. ; So she tell him to go over to
her house and have a piece of pie. While he s there, David encounters the deputy sheriff, Len
McAuley. Len is drunk and reveals the fact that he thought he saw Frank walking into David s
house a little while before Marie was found dead. David discloses this and the fact that, he too,
saw Frank. David confesses to his parents, ...While I was sitting there I saw someone cutting
across our backyard. There s a knothole you can see out of. I was pretty sure it was Uncle Frank.
Then I got out and watched him go down the tracks. He was going toward town... ; (97). After
receiving the shock of knowing his uncle is a fiend, David experiences a growth in morality. He
chooses to tell his parents what he knows, or at least part of what he knows, about Uncle Frank.
This shows that he is developing in the area of honesty. Before, David would have kept all this to
himself, rather than face his parents with knowledge he knows will displease them.

The Causes And Reasons Of Joseph Smith And The Mormonism
Mormonism was founded in the 1820s by Joseph Smith. Smith, wanting to expand his religious
following migrated to Illinois where he established a settlement that included a temple of worship
and a village (Green 57). In Illinois the Mormon peoples were met with threats, violence, and
occasionally they were even killed. This was the case for their leader Joseph Smith; Smith was met
with disgust from non mormons when he attempted to run for presidency and his church riddled
with scandal when the word of polygamy got out. With his tarnished reputation, Smith was
ultimately murdered by an outraged mob, who then threatened other Mormons that if they did not
leave they would be met with the same fate (Mormons into the West). With that warning, the
Mormons picked a new leader, Brigham Young, who wanted to flee the American Border. Young
set for travel with his new followers to the Great Salt Lake, which at the time was located in
Mexico. The migration to the Great Salt Lake was an excruciating journey, spanning thousands of
miles. When the Mormons reached the Great Salt Lake they understood why no one had settled on
the land before. Vast amounts of acres and a large body of water mean nothing when the land is
dry and water undrinkable. To remedy their problems, the Mormons set up a water irrigation system
to filter the lake water into a usable source. They acclimated to the land and understood that time
would be needed to cultivate the soil, which they successfully restored,

Child Labor South Sudan And India
Child Labor in South Sudan and India Tatiana Wettstein San Jose State University Chad 106
Laura Pirazzi Child Labor: South Sudan (Annet, 2011) Conflict and poverty are all too common
in the country of South Sudan, along with one of the more overlooked issues of Child Labor.
South Sudan is a country with some of the highest rates of child labor. The country has made
progress in making laws and regulations, organizations and agencies and social programs that
target child labor. The problem is that these developments are not effective in reducing the child
labor in South Sudan. It is important to understand what the Sudanese government is doing that
isn t working and why it isn t working in order to reduce child labor significantly in this country.
Background The leading causes for child labor in South Sudan include poverty and the political
crisis of the South Sudan government. The South Sudan government has been fighting with rebel
factions, which has ultimately resulted in child abduction into the armed forces and young girls
being trafficked to work as sex slaves. Poverty has also served as a major contributor to child
labor in South Sudan (Canagarajah Nielson, 2001). About 3.5 million children are without parental
care due to poverty in the country (Plummer Kudrati El Hag Yousif, 2007). With no parents to
provide these children are forced to work. The political crisis combined with widespread poverty in

Death Penalty Satire
The Death Penalty Burn the heretic, behead the traitor, euthanize the murderer. Capital punishment
by death has always resided in our society in countless different forms. The question is not
whether it is right or wrong, for that brings an endless debate over it, but how and why certain
factors allow it to be different in different countries, some to the extent of even abolishing it. How
liberal a country s people and government are, also adding the fact of what type of government is
present, are the key factors that shape each country differently and determine the presence of the

However, it is still ultimately a combination of different situations that determine the how
influential each factor is in determining the presence of the death penalty. India, even though it was
a great British colony influenced by many European ideals, still has the death penalty in use. In this
case the Enlightenment ideals were not enough of an influence, especially when the British in India
had formerly codified hanging for capital punishment. Now crime, the initial event that created the
death penalty is being used to argue against the penalty, as many now argue that the penalty is
ineffective in deterring crime, and that a large reason for the support of the penalty comes out of
ignorance of the ineffectiveness and the errors of capital punishment. We can now see that every
situation is different for every country, the United States have it in practice today, the same with
China with the highest amount of sentences every year, the Middle East ties it to religious laws,
Europe that has totally abolished it, and the countless other countries that just do not take it into
action anymore. In the end it still is up to the governments, to see if we the people will have a say

5). David s trust in God is established from antecedent experiences with God who has redeemed
David (v. 8, 22) and who has demonstrated faithfulness (v. 3). The affidavit of trust continues in
verses 6 8. After David put himself in God s hands he reminisced that God has not given him
into the hands of his enemies (v.8). Verses 9 13 delineate the astute condition of David as he
prays. David speaks of how his life is consumed by anguish and tells of his suffering of his whole
being that has been going on for a lifetime (v. 9 13). As the passage continues David permutates
into declarations of trust, my times are in your hands (v. 15) while in verses 16 18 David calls to
God asking him to deliver him from his enemies once again. The psalms conclude on various

David Moser Why Chinese Is So Damn Hard
Comments on David Moser s Why Chinese is so damn hard
This essay is going to discuss the article Why Chinese is so damn hard by David Moser. In the
article, Moser employed a humorous tone to point out nine reasons why Chinese is challenging for
adult foreigners like himself to learn and why Chinese is difficult itself. In the following
paragraphs, I am focusing on one of the arguments Moser proposed Chinese s writing system just
ain t very phonetic , and will present my opinions on the wordings he used and the presentation of
the issue.
In his article, Moser stated Chinese not being phonetic is one of the reasons why westerners find it
difficult to learn it. He pointed out that in English, there are at least some correspondences between
sound and spelling. It helps non native speakers learning the language. However, in Chinese, save
those with radical and phonetic components, there are no clues at all for readers. The author also
demonstrated his experience of learning French, which is a phonetic language. He heard the word
amortisseur from the radio several times and he recognised it on a sign by because the sounds he
constructed when reading the word is the same. One reinforces the other, as he described the
learning process. Yet, when he was in Taiwan, he could not read the word on the sign as there were
no indications of sound, or Moser said phonetically mute. The example shows how it is easier to
study phonetic languages than the others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to his statement, Because the writing system just ain t very phonetic , Moser believes a
large portion of Chinese character is not phonetic. At the same time, he does not rule out those
characters with a phonetic component. However, for non native speakers, it is difficult to notice the
pattern even they learn Chinese for a very long

Bourgeoisie And Proletariat Face During The 19th Century
Most present day Western societies are accustomed to a 3 tiered class system: working class,
middle class, and upper class. However, these societies weren t always set up this way. In England
and the United States, for example, during the 18th century, were typically made up of two classes:
the bourgeoisieand the proletariat.
The bourgeoisie was the upper middle class who controlled most of the wealth and power. Unlike
the bourgeoisie, the proletariats were people who weren t wealthy but earned their wages by
manual labor or working in factories. Separate to the bourgeoisie, whose power was associated
with the ability to purchase material objects and plenty of property, the proletariat s only power
was derived from their ability to work.

Seurat is commonly known for being a post impressionist painter whose work did not signify the

Saturated Fat Vs Unsaturated Fats
Most fats are sorted into two categories; saturated fats and unsaturated fats. Saturated fats are
branded as the bad fats and unsaturated fats are branded as the good fats, though both fats are
necessary in the human diet. Saturated fats are found mainly in animal products and also in a few
plant products. A few examples of the plant products include coconut oil and palm oils. A way to
differentiate saturated and unsaturated fats is by its physical state at room temperature. Saturated
fats become solid and unsaturated fats stay as a liquid. Some examples of saturated fatin Latin
American foods are carne de puerco con chile, a pork dish in MГ©xico or ropa vieja, a beef dish in

3.0 Industry analysis
Ice cream industry has started and sustained in Malaysia market for a long period of time. In
recent years, several reports reveal that sales of ice cream industry in Malaysia has increased and
grown to be a major player in food and beverage industry. While there are many reasons behind this,
the increment of citizens disposable income is considered as a principal cause. (Euromonitor
International, 2016)
Besides sales increment, the number of ice cream manufacturers, parlour and restaurants has
grown and they are gaining popularity by introducing new flavours of ice cream and providing a
comfortable environment. Supermarkets play a role in supporting the sales by selling multipack
ice cream and bulk ice cream. (SeowMIee, 2011) Hence, we will use PEST, SWOT and Porter s

3.3.1 Bargaining power of buyer (High)
High bargaining power of buyers due to large number of ice cream suppliers, high customers price
sensitivity. This could cause buyers to pressure us on lowering selling price or improve quality of
products. (Jim Wilkinson, 2013) Furthermore, ice cream is not a necessity, thus customers have
higher price sensitivity than other food. Low income group of consumers, for example students are
sensitive towards price of ice cream, hence they are able to control our price indirectly.
3.3.2 Bargaining power of supplier (Low)
Bargaining power of suppliers is low due to large number of suppliers of raw materials, low
switching cost and availability of attractive substitutes. (Jim Wilkinson, 2013) Therefore, we could
control the price of raw materials because we can easily switch to different suppliers with lower
price and higher quality, increasing our profit consequently.

The Great Philosopher Plato
Plato is known as one of ancient Greece s greatest philosophers. Plato was born in Athens, Greece
during 428 BCE. Some people believe that Plato s real name is Aristocles, if in fact this is true he
would have received this name from his grandfather. Historians believed that Plato had two full
brother, one sister, and one half brother. They are unsure if Plato was the eldest. They believe that
he was since he inherited his grandfather s name, and tradition was that the eldest son would be
named after the grandfather. Plato s father, Ariston, was a direct descendant from kings of Athens
and Messina. His mother, Perictione, was a descendant of an athenian ... Show more content on

One of Plato s greatest works was The Republic . The Republic was Plato s defence of justice and
what he thinks is the best form of government. The piece of writing brings up two questions that
are still relevant today. The questions brought up by this piece of writing were what is justice? ,
and what is the relation between justice and being happy? . Some of Plato s other pieces of
writing include Meno. The Meno was written in an attempt to define what virtue was. Another
one of Plato s well known dialogue was Symposium. Plato wrote Symposium to show the purpose
and nature of love. Plato wrote many more dialogues, that people still read to this day. Plato spent
his final years of his life at the academy. Around 348 BCE Plato died in Athens. He was around
eighty years old when he passed away. No one knows how exactly he passed away. Some people
say he passed away peacefully in his sleep due to old age. Others say he died while attending a
wedding.
Plato s accomplishments still live on to this day through the idea of platonism. His ideas impact
religion, science, government, and philosophy in today s world. His philosophy along with the
philosophy of Socrates and Aristotle helped form a basic idea of western philosophical traditions.
Plato s dialogues also affected life in today s society. The Republic is a good example of the effect
plato s dialogues left, because it helped

America Needs It s Nerds By Leonid Friedman
In the passage America needs it s Nerds by Leonid Friedman, the author builds the argument that
in America unlike other countries those who make academics a priority are frowned upon and

and that this action needs to stop . The question being asked is how does the author build this
argument. The way the passage was written was first it gave the main idea and then it gave it s

Understanding the Three Stages of Change Unfreeze Change Refreeze.
iStockphoto/doram
Change is a common thread that runs through all businesses regardless of size, industry and age.
Our world is changing fast and, as such, organizations must change quickly too. Organizations that
handle change well thrive, whilst those that do not may struggle to survive.
The concept of change management is a familiar one in most businesses today. But, how businesses
manage change (and how successful they are at it) varies enormously depending on the nature of
the business, the change and the people involved. And a key part of this depends on how far people
within it understand the change process.
One of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to accept the change and contribute to making the change successful, people need to
understand how the changes will benefit them. Not everyone will fall in line just because the
change is necessary and will benefit the company. This is a common assumption and pitfall that
should be avoided.
Tip:
Unfortunately, some people will genuinely be harmed by change, particularly those who benefit
strongly from the status quo. Others may take a long time to recognize the benefits that change
brings. You need to foresee and manage these situations.
Time and communication are the two keys to success for the changes to occur. People need time to
understand the changes and they also need to feel highly connected to the organization throughout
the transition period. When you are managing change, this can require a great deal of time and
effort and hands on management is usually the best approach.
Refreeze
When the changes are taking shape and people have embraced the new ways of working, the
organization is ready to refreeze. The outward signs of the refreeze are a stable organization chart,
consistent job descriptions, and so on. The refreeze stage also needs to help people and the
organization internalize or institutionalize the changes. This means making sure that the changes
are used all the time; and that they are incorporated into everyday business. With a new sense of
stability, employees feel confident and comfortable with the new

As a firefighter sitting here miles away not being on scene, it s hard to critique the fire tactics.

My current employer is Raytheon Company, which is one of the largest defense companies in the
United States (Choi, 2016). Raytheon was founded in 1922 and has grown organically by winning
new and maintaining the existing government contracts, as well as through a number of
acquisitions. The company provides advanced and integrated technological products, services, and
solutions for both domestic and international customers ( Raytheon s 10 K Report , 2016).
According to Global Edge, the aerospace and defense (A D) industry is highly concentrated,
which means that the industry s direction and price points are largely shaped and controlled by a
small amount of large firms in the industry (Global Edge, n. d.). The top five A D contractors
based on their 2015 revenues are Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and

Fundamental Strategic Issues in Defense Industry The A D industry relies mainly on the defense
budget allocated for various government and military products and services, such as military
aircrafts, ships, missiles, and other defense related technological devices. As the government faces a
debt crisis, A D companies are subsequently affected by the decreasing spending, stalled and

Research Paper On The American Dream
American Dream. America, the dreamland for those who have been oppressed, for those who have
been judged, for those who have no freedom. The United States was founded by immigrants that
came with dreams in the search of freedom and wealth. The American dream exists, maybe it varies
from one culture to another, but many persons witnessed how it became a reality. A plethora of
people thinks is a myth, however, most immigrants know that it exists. The American dreamis
defined in the Merriam Webster dictionary as an American social ideal that stresses egalitarianism
and the prosperity or life that is the realization of this ideal . However, Americans define it as an
opportunity for success, as an opportunity for freedom. As Adams, James Truslow say America is

MySQL 1. What was the business model of MySQL?
Orignal Business model Originally, MySQL collected one time licensing revenues from original
equipment manufacturers (OEM) businesses. These were businesses that redistributed MySQL
embedded into their own products as in a standalone application. This was based on the dual
license model for open source database. In the dual license model, software is available both
under a General public license (GPL) , usually for non commercial end users, and under a
commercial license for non GPL ed redistribution.

Microsoft had already offered a zero price product for a long time, Sysbase, since 2004. Oracle
had acquired the two main transactional engines that MySQL could have used, namely Innobase
and its replacement Sleepycat. In a way it gave Oracle some control as a partner with MySQL.
Increasing competition: New open source database startups such as db4o leveraged open source
community for development, marketing and sales and hence enjoyed an extremely low cost
structure. This enabled them to expand their customer base in enterprise domain. Some closed
source databases became open source. Eg: Cloudscape from IBM. This further increased the
competition. 3. What is the current status of MySQL?
MySQL status in 2006: Though it had 8 million active installations and 50,000 downloads per
day, only 1 in 1000 productive installations ended up as paid MySQL customer. In April 2006,
Oracle renewed the contract between InnoBase and MySQL in a multi year agreement, effectively
becoming a MySQL partner. Mickos sees growth opportunities and plans to raise sales upto $ 100
million and to go public by 2008. Oracle clearly recognizes MySQL as its competitor though battle
lines are a bit blurry in MySQL camp. CEO Mickos looks at Oracle as too big to be considered as a
competitor while EVP of Sales, Burton, sees them as competitor only in select markets like Large
Enterprise category.

The Types Of Parliamentary Democracies
The two types of Parliamentary democracies are direct democracy, also known as consociational or
consensus democracy, and representative democracy, otherwise called majoritarian democracy
(Dickovick 118 120). A consensus democracy is founded on the principle that the citizens govern
directly and that power is distributed between the executive and legislative branches to prevent and
limit one branch from gaining too much power. An example of a consensus democracyis
Switzerland, as it promotes consensus of the people, and it exhibits the factors necessary for a
direct democracy. Alternatively, a majoritarian democracy is based on the principle of majority
rules, and that power is concentrated and centralized. The United Kingdom is an example of a
majoritarian democracy because it follows the majority rule principle and possesses all the
qualities of a representative democracy. While consensus democracy and majoritarian democracies
are both forms of democracy, the contrasting approaches to democratic rule they engage in
foremost pertaining to the ideas of distribution of political power, causes the two types of
democracy to be diametrically opposite. A consociational or consensus democracy is commonly
used in heterogeneous or plural societies, as a majority rule democracy would be unpredictable and
hazardous in such a society. consensus democracy has its virtues in the front end of democracy. It
emphasizes the belief of the consensus of the people rather than the

How Public Opinion Changed the Course of the Vietnam War
The Vietnam War certainly left a distaste in the lives of many who have been affected by the war;
scholars have become increasingly interested in the interaction between war and public opinion.
There have been many scholarly works published on the Vietnam War, but the issue that will be
analyzed here is how public opinion changed the course of the war. The first article by Scott
Gartner and Gary Segura is titled, Race, Casualties, and Opinion in the VietnamWar, it examined
how the diverse races within America in combination with the atrocities in the war led to the
formation of opinions that were similar in one race but were different in another race. The second

The last study that will be analyzed however, does not frame their research in that manner, instead,
the purpose of this study is to assess the impact of anti Vietnam war demonstrations in the U.S.A.
on the changes in the American public s views about the war. There is general consensus among
Verba, Brody and Schreiber that the polls did not serve as an adequate metric for determining
whether the war was truly out of touch with many. Schreiber referred to the demonstrations, noting
that many members of the public simply do not mentally join together This could lead to the
formation of two conclusions according to Schreiber; one being that demonstrations had no effect
in altering public opinion, and the other being that those demonstrations had great effect in
communicating with the public. The major point to be gleaned from this review is that there is no
evidence that shows an effect of anti Vietnam war demonstrations on reducing American public
support for the war in Vietnam. Schreiber then goes on to reiterate the point

my interests in a way that may not have been possible at an expensive university. While I have
always had an interest in the technical and scientific disciplines, out of high school I was

When first looking into careers I never considered a technical based career, mainly due to family

success I realized there was a space for my interest in STEM.
Throughout my academic endeavor I have earned a spot in two very diverse internships. My first
internship was with LADOT. It focused on my individual skills and how to apply them to singular
tasks. I was primarily involved in GIS mapping and worked alongside traffic and computer

When Ruth Is Dead At The End Of Chapter Six
The first death in this book is Ruth s; Kathy casually mentions that Ruth is dead at the end of
chapter six. However, it is not until chapter nineteen that Kathy reveals any details about Ruth s
death:
[It] was three days after her second donation, when they finally let me in to see her in the small
hours of the morning. She was in a room by herself, and it looked like they d done everything they
could for her . . . Now I took one glance at her in that hospital bed under the dull light and
recognized the look on her face, which I d seen on donors often enough before. It was like she was
willing her eyes to see right insider herself, so she could patrol and marshal all the better the
separate areas of pain in her body . . . She was, strictly speaking, still conscious, but she wasn t

Kathy realizes that Ruth is dying and that she cannot be saved, and she just accepts it. She does not
try to fight it; she simply stays with Ruth until she is forced to leave. Even though their friendship
was complicated, they were still friends and had become closer near the end. The language Ishiguro
uses to describe Ruth from Kathy s perspective is simple and honest; nothing about the language
suggests any resistance against her death. When it is time for Tommy, Kathy s boyfriend, to

Pipefish Sexual Selection
Throughout decades, sexual selection has been acknowledged in the explanation of evolutionary
patterns. With research, we have had the opportunity to study species of animals like the
Syngnathidae family. Animals that are included in this category include pipefish, seahorses, and sea
dragons. This species is known for their sexrole reversal, meaning that the malefertilizes and carries
the eggs during incubation after the female has laid them. When we look more specifically at the
pipefish, it is found that males are left with most of the parenting and care for the offspring. As the
male carries its eggs, it supplies them with nutrients and oxygen through the placenta. During
pipefish copulation, the female transfers her eggs through a small... Show more content on

Within the species, water temperature was found as a factor in sexual selection and embryonic
development. Rispoli and Wilson (2008) stated that the influence of temperature on reproduction is
expected to effectively truncate the breeding season and reduce fecundity in cold waters,
potentially enhancing the opportunity for both fecundity and sexual selection (31). Pipefish
were sampled from population in the European coast. Males were defined as mature when they
had developed their brood pouch and females were considered mature when they were able to
carry mature eggs. In comparison to the prior studies mentioned, over fifty percent of males
would mate with as many as five males. Females from this area produced fewer eggs than the
ales were able to brood and therefore male would mate with other females to fill their pouch. It
was also found that males had an increased brood size where water temperatures during their
breeding season were lower. In colder temperatures, the duration of the embryo incubation is
increased, making it difficult for males to carry a succeeded amount of eggs during a season. It is
clear that water temperature has an effect of

Why Do You Say Moral I Say Huckleberry Finn
You Say Morals , I Say Ethics American author and humorist Mark Twain s The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn is often labeled the Great American Novel due not only to its tendency towards
Realism and its controversial issue of slavery, but also the ethical and moral challenges faced within
the book. Huckleberry Finn, as the novel progresses, physically and mentally grows due to the
circumstances, decisions, and obstacles he endures; with such experiences come the gain of moral
development. However, despite whatever moral maturity Huck undergoes, his ethics remain
stagnant.
While there is an interchangeable use and common overlap between morals and ethics, they differ
greatly and there is an important distinction between the two. The ... Show more content on

His morals develop as his experiences end up changing his opinions. Many of Huck s original
principals evolve particularly his views of death and lying. At first, Huck s grasp of death is
merely the concept of death, and one he views as exciting. In chapter two, Huck and Tom Sawyers
gang speak and encourage death and violence nonchalantly in fact, the boys order that should
anyone desert the gang, their family shall face the consequences of death as compensation of
such a betrayal: they said that every boy must have a family or somebody to kill, or else it
wouldn t be fair and square for the others...and so I offered them Miss Watson they could kill her
(Twain, 8). However, Huck is later so shaken by the horror and death that he witnessed during
the Grangerford and Shepherdson murders that he says I ain t a going to tell all that happened
it would make me sick again if I was to do that. I wished I hadn t ever come ashore that night to
see such things. I ain t ever going to get shut of them lots of times I dream about them (Twain,
115). Needless to say, Huck s tolerance and views of death change dramatically and he now sees
death as a horrible realty rather than a romanticized concept. Huck s moral compass also develops
in terms of the acceptability of deceit. Huckleberry lies viciously to Jim at one point, for no reason
other than for his own enjoyment: Well, this is too many for me, Jim. I

Cause And Effects Of The French Revolution Essay
Have you ever heard that the Royal blood is blue? Looking at the French Revolution, the royal
blood wasn t blue, but jaundiced shade of red and riddled with broken chromosomes. The French
Revolution was a period of economical and social events that led to a crisis, which lasted from
1789 until 1799 due to the inefficiency of the French government and rebellion against the
government too. The dissatisfaction of people against the Monarch and the debt of the government
were specifically two of the main causes that led to the French Revolution.
French government was extremely in debt. French government had used more money than what
they had in their budget and this caused them not only to be in debt but also to be at the border of
bankruptcy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mortality rate decreased which led to the population of France to be the highest in all Europe,
following the massive governments debt, came the social crisis. France was at height of European
power because there was growth of industry and growth of population; rise of middle class. But the
rise of the middle class meant that poverty increased too, leaving an unbalanced social structure
of society were people were divided into three different estates (First estate, Second estate, Third
estate) which ranked from high church members, bourgeoisie merchants to peasants. Peasants
could barley get the money necessary to pay the royalty which now, were some bourgeoisie who
lived like some of the nobles. The inequality of the different estates was the cause of anger from
people. People from the Third estate had to pay extremely high taxes, and people from the First
estate were exempted from paying these taxes. You may think that by gaining money you could
move up estates. It was very rare for people to move up the ladder from estate to estate now that
there was inequality in power. Your privilege was determined by the day you were born and had
nothing to do with what you could do; your talents. You could buy the social mobility rights, but
the poorest could not afford to buy it. The King also took every important political decision and his
advisers without even talking in mind

Pergamon Altar To Zeus Analysis
The Pergamon altar to Zeus, was once was apart of the great Pergamon Palace that was a library
to 200,000 scrolls and garrison of soldiers that use to reside in Pergamon city in the 2nd century
B.C. I will be performing a visual analysis on one of the friezes depicted in the Pergamon altar of
Zeus showing the Goddess Athena, who helped Olympus fight against the titans. In this essay I will
explore how the Pergamon frieze is a metaphor for the victory of greek culture over the unknown,
the unspoken fear of the greeks against the chaotic forces of nature by looking at the movement of
lines, illusionistic space and virtuoso sculpting here of the human body.
Athena greek goddess of war and wisdom was one of the most powerful goddesses in the greek
pantheon, and as said, by her birth, came fully armed from the head of zeus, which had inspired the
common representation of her shown in armour, helmet, spear, and with a shield. She also held the
head of Gorgon Medusa over her aegis. She was an embodiment of wisdom, reason, and purity.
And by being her father s favorite, she was allowed to use his weapons and thunderbolt. ... Show

giant, Alcyoneus, son of Gaia, a goddess of Earth. Even without a face we can tell that she is in

his mother Gaia on the other side watches in fear for her son as she s completely at Athena s
mercy. Athena s collected grace strengthens this marble piece, as even in a time of chaos these
gods and goddesses were completely in control and empowered, as there was an oracle known that
they d not be able to defeat these titans without the help of a

Victorian Age Research Paper
1)The Victorian Age: Social Background There are tow dates for the beginning of the Victorian
Age in England: The first date is 1837, when the Queen Victory accessed to the British throne.
However the most accepted date as the start of the Victorian Age is 1832, date of the First
Reform Bill. This reform allowed the entrance of urban bourgeoisie or middle class in the
Parliament because the requirements for voting were simplified; there was an increasing number
of population with the right to vote. This reform also broke up the monopoly of power in hands of
aristocracy and landowners in the Parliament. The end of this Age is placed in the turn of the
century when Queen Victory died in 1901. The Victorian Age is usually divided

The morality about sex had a main aim: An ideal of purity based on a chastity code which
emphasized the relevance of premarital continence. In order to keep this chastity code, anything
related to sex was silenced in an attitude of deliberated ignorance, an attitude of rejection of sex,
especially in women, who usually associated sex with a marital duty. The Victorian education
tried to introduce, especially in young men, an attitude towards women based on respect. They
were taught to think of women as sisters or even as angels rather than human beings. This kind
of education tried to separate completely love from sex and it was not especially oriented to girls
because women were supposed to not have any kind of sexual desire. Any kind of sexual
expression is limited to marriage, and even, sexual relationships in marriage were only justified
for procreation. The main source of this code of purity and virtue is the resurgence of Puritanism
in the last decades of 18th century (Methodism and Evangelical movement). There was a revival of
the old traditions which were very conservative and especially repressed of any sexual behaviour.
The Victorian Age s morality also condemned any kind of sexual reference in literature. Victorian
critics demanded from serious literature a didactic content and respect to the Victorian conventions
which established that sex

William Bradford Vs John Smith Essay
In the early 1509 s 1850 s there were two Englishmen named John Smith and William Bradford that
established in the colonies of British who came to the New World to share a common culture. These
two men wrote journals, talking about what had happened to them in the past months and what they
went through. Although they struggled and faced many challenges they did their best in order for
them to survive for example, they had starvation times and although they would starve he would do
his best. Bradford and Smith presented different accounts of the life on land and talked about an
ideal vision of what the new land could be with the best of people colonizing the new land. Both
wrote of their experience in America, were Europeans, and desired to settle the land. However, the
similarities end there while Smith roamed Virginia as a scout and a military man, Bradford planted
his church community in Plymouth. John Smith was born in January 1850 in Willough New

community in Plymouth. Smith wrote action oriented propaganda, in a third person tall tale , in

Why I Want To Major In Nursing
Walsh University offers many different majors for people with many different likes and
interests. If students are undecided and do not know what to major in, I would say nursing is
the way to go. Nursing is a major where many doors open up for students after graduation. This
major challenges you and allows a person to grow. Wondering why students should major in
nursing? Here are some reasons that might help justify why nursing is the way to go. Nurses can
choose the setting in which they work; they have control over their shifts; finding a job in this
field will be easy; a nurse gets to pick what area they want to specialize; they get paid very well;
and they get to bond with their patients. In addition, opportunities to advance your studies... Show

Nurses can work a shift that works around their schedule. If they have children at home and want
to be with them when they return home from school, then they can work night shifts. This
would also be a good shift for people who are not morning people. Someone who would rather
work when their kids are at school or even just want to work during the day and have nights off,
then they can do that too. Nursing is a very flexible career because you can easily change your
shifts around. The opportunity of working eight hour shifts or twelve hour shifts is also
available to nurses. You can work three days a week or five, which also allows for flexibility. There
are pros and cons to both working three days a week is nice when you receive four days off then,
but the hours can be ..physically and emotionally demanding.. ( Gray 2015). Working five days a
week would also be nice because you have less hours to work, but then you do not have as many
days off. The flexibility a nurse has is a very nice

Socialization Of Gender Roles
From the instant we are born, we are born into a world of conformity and obedience. Early in our
lives, we look at authority figures like parents or teachers as these sentinels of guidance, as
omnipotent beings with unwavering precision in their lessons. The concept of socialization is
very perplexed, and it s difficult to identify the variables that shape our development as we grow.
As children, we communicate with the world free of inhibition, and find no fault in any of our
actions; we could throw a tantrum and no one would bat an eye because it is socially acceptable
for a child to have minimal restraint on their emotions. Over the years, we eventually become
embedded in the norms of our culture, and mature to our respective social... Show more content on

While these genderfied roles are entirely different, as a society we constantly fail to recognize
these roles as they appear in front of us. As a result of our systematic training of gender roles, we
have essentially unconsciously accepted that gender roles are okay without even analyzing it (Is
Everyone Really Equal?). As early as childhood we are exposed to various forms of gender roles.
Did you know that 96.8% of teachers in pre school and kindergarten are female (goo.gl/Nb9hpX)?
That s not necessarily a bad thing, it s just strange to realize that one sex can virtually dominate an
entire profession at such a high statistic without anyone asking questions. Some would argue that
the female gender role is economically inferior than that of a man s. It s commonly said that woman
only earn seventy nine cents of every man s dollar, but is this necessarily true? No, it s actually
worse. The statistic of seventy nine cents for every dollar is actually a statistic for white woman.
Hispanic woman earn fifty five cents for every dollar, while Asian woman earn eighty four cents
for every dollar. If we were to average the four major ethnic groups, woman would earn
approximately sixty nine cents for every dollar (https://goo.gl/nGUZRC). While this statistic is
actually worse off than the stereotype, I would also like to point out that this statistic compares the
wage of females of FOUR ethnic groups against the

History And Advances Of The Christian Church Essay
During the course of Foundations of Reflection: God, my mission is to appreciate and learn the
history and advances of the Christian Church. As students, we analyze cultural texts and describe
meaningful events to develop an answer to who, what, and why there is a transcendent God. This
composition will focus the historical social context, ecclesial context, and modifications to the
Church that occurred from three critical events; Fall of the Roman Empire, World War II, and the
Celebration of the Holy Year by Pope John Paul II. The selected episodes are key in the history
of the development of the church and provide insights of the church politically, socially, and
more importantly, religiously. The founding of Rome, today known as the Eternal City, was in
753 BC. The governmental hierarchy of early Rome was simple; governed by seven kings. Soon
came transition because of heavy disputes in turn, the people of Rome gained power and ruled the
city themselves. This government was short lived and a threat to society because of its poor
structure and poor authority. Therefore, the people of Rome agreed to develop a new structure,
labeled the Roman Republic. The Roman Republic was in other words, the Senate, which advised
the kings in official affairs and important decisions. The Roman Empire is known for having a great
government, which lasted from a great number of years. However, this sweet government structure,
high social status, and religious practices quickly

Analysis Of Pure Heroine
Not just important because of the marketable novelty of a 16 year old shooting to the top of the

underrepresented perspective in pop music: an average, suburban teenager existing in that weird
state of flux between childhood and adulthood.
On her debut album, Pure Heroine, she established a unique voice that was simultaneously
disillusioned and in awe of the infinite possibilities life has to offer. She wrote about the tiny thrills
of feeling grown up for the first time, driving around aimlessly at night, and buying orange juice.
Among all the Top 40 songs devoured by teens, but actually written by industry professionals well

Fourth Paper
1. Christina Hoff Sommers, The Equal Pay Day Reality Check (pp. 122 128).
Sommers does not believe that the unfair wage gap between men and women is authentic.
Sommers assumes that there are many reasons explained the gap such as women s decision on
the type of work they do, their field of study and the time distribution for their families and the
workplace. Women should not blame others for the lower pay. It is because they are less likely to
take jobs that require a lot of effort and physical ability. According to an analysis from the U.S.
Department of Labor, some reasons causing the wage gap is owing to the industry and occupation.
During her career, a woman might have to take maternal leave which partly ... Show more content

There is no surprise that men win again in the race of wage. They are men and women working
in the same field. Those statistics indicated that the one of the reasons behind the wage gap is
women s type of career is not so persuasive. There must be another explanation for the gap. The
Paycheck Fairness Act is under discussion and it is supported by the two parties. Nevertheless,
Sommers calls it is a misleading act because it will create a chaos in the American workplace.
Employers will have to settle in a lawsuit that involves discrimination and the continuing effects
of past discrimination. Sommers decides to take sides with innocent employers in this case since
they may not realize their actions are against the law. Employers will be hesitant when hiring
someone. She strongly argues that the employers are innocent and have no idea when there is a
pay gap due to past discrimination. She uses an example of universities to support her argument.
Professors in the business school will receive a higher pay than those who teach the social
subjects. The market forces are responsible for this variation. Women Association is not convinced
that it s because of the market forces, so they try to seek for evidence to prove that the pay gap is
related to past discrimination.
Recently, a Hollywood report about 2017 top paid actors and actress once again revealed a striking
reality. According to Forbes, the most paid actor in 2017 is Mark Wahlberg

In fact, I had one situation where the blower fan got stuck on high even when you turned off the

speed adjustments or doesn t work at all.

This is the digital type set up that function like the HVAC control panel in your house. You set the
temperature for 70 degrees and the climate control system automatically adjusts the temperature
doors and blower speed to accommodate your settings.
If your vehicle has the base option set up with two dials and slides to select a temperature range
between cold and hot, you do not have a blower module. Instead you have a blower resistor.
Nevertheless, both of these systems are troublesome and might need their respective parts replaced.
It s just important to make sure you know the difference and what parts are on your automobile.
Diagnosing a Defective Blower Control Module
On the automobiles we re discussing you access the blower module from the passenger side foot
well. On vehicles with high level trim there might be a hush panel to remove to gain access.
Another thing to take note of is that on most of these models the glove box will swing out of the
way when you push up on the stop tab in the upper left corner of the glove box compartment.
When this swings out of the way you have an excellent view of the blower motor and its two wire
connector.
Although you probably have a bad blower module you still want to take a few basic tests before
you purchase the replacement parts. You want to check the fuses to make sure that they are not
blown. If they are blown it could be yet another sign that the module is drawing too much current.
The next step is to

In short The content of My Name Is Khan is diametrically opposite to whatever Karan Johar done in the past. My Name Is Khan is not all about terrorism, or 9/11. • 4. Protestant Propaganda Protestant Propaganda What do you think of when you hear the name Ireland? Ireland is a relatively small island off the coast of Great Britain with a land area of 32,424 square miles (Delaney 2). There are several things that you may associate with this country such as St. Patrick s Day, shamrocks, beer, and strife. The source of the bitterness behind this conflict began centuries ago, when Britain came over and forced Protestantism on the Irish Catholic inhabitants. For this reason there has always been an animosity between the Protestants and the Irish Catholics. The island is broken up into two distinct regions. The Republic of Ireland consists of twenty six counties, which make up the southern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This event gave the Catholics yet another reason to dislike the Unionists. The Unionists also used crooked politics to ensure Protestant control. One way of doing this was by gerrymandering the political district lines. For example, one ward was ninety percent Catholic while the rest of the Catholics were scattered about in Protestant wards (Golway 280). By dividing the districts this way it made the Catholic votes virtually meaningless. Then, the Protestant controlled government passed the Civil Authorities Act. This Act granted the government the right to search homes without a warrant, impose curfews, and randomly arrest citizens even if no real crime had been committed. The Catholics were the ones who were primarily oppressed by these laws. Other laws limited the education of Catholics, restricted them from holding office, and they were also discriminated against on the job. Protestants filled many of the positions leaving the Catholics jobless (Golway 280). This policy of discrimination helped inflate the already high poverty rate in Ire that they could feed their family, they also had to worry about curfews and being arrested for no apparent reason. This is not right. The government should not be allowed to pass laws that would help single out a certain minority. This is an example of how propaganda can be used in politics. INTRODUCTION This paper critically analysis academic articles relating to negotiation and conflict resolution in the Indian and American culture using Hofstede s cross cultural model to identify the difference and also the similarities between the two cultures. Hofstede s work on culture is the most widely cited in existence (Bond 2002; Hofstede 1997). There are more than 164 definitions for this word alone. Hofstede has provided definition for Culture A collective programming of the mind which distinguishes one group from another patterns of thinking, feeling and acting (Hofstede 1980, 25) The essay will also explain the different models used by the authors and discuss the agreements and disagreements between their articles. Negotiation Styles Definition: Culture is passed on from one generation to another. The word culture is as elastic as its meaning. As mentioned before there are almost 164 or more definitions for this word alone. Negotiation is defined as a strategic discussion that resolves an issue in a way that both parties find acceptable . (Investopedia, 2010) It basically means reaching a win win situation for both parties. Rubin and Brown (1975), defined negotiation as a process in which individuals work together to formulate agreements about the issues in dispute. In the process of negotiation it is assumed that all the parties are willing to communicate and to generate offers, counter offer, or both. Agreement occurs if and only if the offers ... Apple Inc. has completely revolutionized society as well as their own market. Apple changed the entire market of personal computers, innovating beyond what people even dreamed of, and Steve Jobs, redefining the definition of a CEO. Apple is an iconic American company that is making a lasting impression on society through their products and their story. Part One: History of Apple Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak first created Apple Inc. privately as Apple Computers. Both kept themselves close to the most up to date technology of the time. Steve Wozniak began attending meetings with the Homebrew Computer Club. New microcomputers were being presented at the Homebrew meetings and Wozniak was inspired to build his own personal computer. The only microcomputer CPU s available at the time were $170 $179 which translates to $745 $785 today. Steve Jobs happened to be at that Homebrew meeting and approached his old friend to discuss his product. Wozniak first designed the product as a hobby. • 9. The Causes And Reasons Of Joseph Smith And The Mormonism Mormonism was founded in the 1820s by Joseph Smith. Smith, wanting to expand his religious following migrated to Illinois where he established a settlement that included a temple of worship and a village (Green 57). In Illinois the Mormon peoples were met with threats, violence, and occasionally they were even killed. This was the case for their leader Joseph Smith; Smith was met with disgust from non mormons when he attempted to run for presidency and his church riddled with scandal when the word of polygamy got out. With his tarnished reputation, Smith was ultimately murdered by an outraged mob, who then threatened other Mormons that if they did not leave they would be met with the same fate (Mormons into the West). With that warning, the Mormons picked a new leader, Brigham Young, who wanted to flee the American Border. Young set for travel with his new followers to the Great Salt Lake, which at the time was located in Mexico. The migration to the Great Salt Lake was an excruciating journey, spanning thousands of miles. When the Mormons reached the Great Salt Lake they understood why no one had settled on the land before. Vast amounts of acres and a large body of water mean nothing when the land is dry and water undrinkable. To remedy their problems, the Mormons set up a water irrigation system to filter the lake water into a usable source. They acclimated to the land and understood that time would be needed to cultivate the soil, which they successfully restored, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

South Sudan is a country with some of the highest rates of child labor. The country has made progress in making laws and regulations, organizations and agencies and social programs that target child labor. The problem is that these developments are not effective in reducing the child labor in South Sudan. It is important to understand what the Sudanese government is doing that isn t working and why it isn t working in order to reduce child labor significantly in this country. Now crime, the initial event that created the death penalty is being used to argue against the penalty, as many now argue that the penalty is ineffective in deterring crime, and that a large reason for the support of the penalty comes out of ignorance of the ineffectiveness and the errors of capital punishment. In the article, Moser employed a humorous tone to point out nine reasons why Chinese is challenging for adult foreigners like himself to learn and why Chinese is difficult itself. In the following paragraphs, I am focusing on one of the arguments Moser proposed Chinese s writing system just ain t very phonetic , and will present my opinions on the wordings he used and the presentation of the issue. In his article, Moser stated Chinese not being phonetic is one of the reasons why westerners find it difficult to learn it. He pointed out that in English, there are at least some correspondences between sound and spelling. It helps non native speakers learning the language. However, in Chinese, save those with radical and phonetic components, there are no clues at all for readers. The author also demonstrated his experience of learning French, which is a phonetic language. He heard the word amortisseur from the radio several times and he recognised it on a sign by because the sounds he constructed when reading the word is the same. One reinforces the other, as he described the learning process. Yet, when he was in Taiwan, he could not read the word on the sign as there were no indications of sound, or Moser said phonetically mute. Lewin s Change Management Model Lewin s Change Management Model Understanding the Three Stages of Change Unfreeze Change Refreeze. iStockphoto/doram Change is a common thread that runs through all businesses regardless of size, industry and age. Our world is changing fast and, as such, organizations must change quickly too. Organizations that handle change well thrive, whilst those that do not may struggle to survive. The concept of change management is a familiar one in most businesses today. But, how businesses manage change (and how successful they are at it) varies enormously depending on the nature of the business, the change and the people involved. And a key part of this depends on how far people within it understand the change process. One of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to accept the change and contribute to making the change successful, people need to understand how the changes will benefit them. Not everyone will fall in line just because the change is necessary and will benefit the company. This is a common assumption and pitfall that should be avoided. Tip: Unfortunately, some people will genuinely be harmed by change, particularly those who benefit strongly from the status quo. Others may take a long time to recognize the benefits that change brings. You need to foresee and manage these situations. Time and communication are the two keys to success for the changes to occur. People need time to understand the changes and they also need to feel highly connected to the organization throughout the transition period. When you are managing change, this can require a great deal of time and effort and hands on management is usually the best approach. Refreeze When the changes are taking shape and people have embraced the new ways of working, the organization is ready to refreeze. The outward signs of the refreeze are a stable organization chart, consistent job descriptions, and so on. The refreeze stage also needs to help people and the organization internalize or institutionalize the changes. This means making sure that the changes are used all the time; and that they are incorporated into everyday business. The Types Of Parliamentary Democracies The two types of Parliamentary democracies are direct democracy, also known as consociational or consensus democracy, and representative democracy, otherwise called majoritarian democracy (Dickovick 118 120). A consensus democracy is founded on the principle that the citizens govern directly and that power is distributed between the executive and legislative branches to prevent and limit one branch from gaining too much power. This species is known for their sexrole reversal, meaning that the malefertilizes and carries the eggs during incubation after the female has laid them. When we look more specifically at the pipefish, it is found that males are left with most of the parenting and care for the offspring. As the male carries its eggs, it supplies them with nutrients and oxygen through the placenta. During pipefish copulation, the female transfers her eggs through a small... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within the species, water temperature was found as a factor in sexual selection and embryonic development. Rispoli and Wilson (2008) stated that the influence of temperature on reproduction is expected to effectively truncate the breeding season and reduce fecundity in cold waters, potentially enhancing the opportunity for both fecundity and sexual selection (31). Pipefish were sampled from population in the European coast. Males were defined as mature when they had developed their brood pouch and females were considered mature when they were able to carry mature eggs. In comparison to the prior studies mentioned, over fifty percent of males would mate with as many as five males. Females from this area produced fewer eggs than the ales were able to brood and therefore male would mate with other females to fill their pouch. It was also found that males had an increased brood size where water temperatures during their breeding season were lower. In colder temperatures, the duration of the embryo incubation is increased, making it difficult for males to carry a succeeded amount of eggs during a season. It is clear that water temperature has an effect of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Huckleberry Finn, as the novel progresses, physically and mentally grows due to the circumstances, decisions, and obstacles he endures; with such experiences come the gain of moral development. I wished I hadn t ever come ashore that night to see such things. I ain t ever going to get shut of them lots of times I dream about them (Twain, 115). The French Revolution was a period of economical and social events that led to a crisis, which lasted from 1789 until 1799 due to the inefficiency of the French government and rebellion against the government too. The dissatisfaction of people against the Monarch and the debt of the government were specifically two of the main causes that led to the French Revolution. French government was extremely in debt. The morality about sex had a main aim: An ideal of purity based on a chastity code which emphasized the relevance of premarital continence. In order to keep this chastity code, anything related to sex was silenced in an attitude of deliberated ignorance, an attitude of rejection of sex, especially in women, who usually associated sex with a marital duty. The Victorian education tried to introduce, especially in young men, an attitude towards women based on respect. They were taught to think of women as sisters or even as angels rather than human beings. This kind of education tried to separate completely love from sex and it was not especially oriented to girls because women were supposed to not have any kind of sexual desire. Any kind of sexual expression is limited to marriage, and even, sexual relationships in marriage were only justified for procreation. The main source of this code of purity and virtue is the resurgence of Puritanism in the last decades of 18th century (Methodism and Evangelical movement). There was a revival of the old traditions which were very conservative and especially repressed of any sexual behaviour. The Victorian Age s morality also condemned any kind of sexual reference in literature.
