THE 1st tool that can be used in analysing an industry is Porter s Five Forces.

Porter s Five Forces tool apparatus is straightforward and it comprehends where the force is in a
business. It examinations the qualities of the organizations present position furthermore the qualities
of the position the business in moving to.
It is extremely helpful as the business can enhance shortcomings, exploit the qualities and abstain
From settling on wrong choices.

The business. The five strengths are:
Supplier force respects the supplier energy to expand the cost of his item or administration and it
Is driven by the points of interest the supplier has over the business. This can be given by the
interesting of their items and administrations, the expense of supplier switch or the favourable

The Rights Of The Stadium Owner
The opinion of the court made their case by referring to other cases. These cases defined the duty of
the stadium owner, by declaring that Once the stadium owner has provided adequately screened seats
for all those desiring them, the stadium owner has fulfilled its duty of care as a matter of law. (Leagle,
2015). Instead of finding the Houston Sports Association liable, the judge indicated that because
Karen attended the game with an adult, the adult was liable to warn her of the dangers that could take
place when at a baseball game. Though the jury did not find her father, Robert Friedman, negligent in
warning his daughter about the possibility of what might happen, Texas law asserts that her father

Chief Judge Cynthia Fry indicated We know of no intentional tort that has elements employing similar
characterizations , with regard to Matranga hitting baseballs with utter indifference to or conscious
disregard for a person s safety (Law Justia, 2009). It is because of this, the court affirmed summary
judgement in favor of the Isotopes and the City of Albuquerque and denied the Crespin s motion to
revise their complaint.
All three of these cases take place over different time periods. Though in the first case, the Boston
Garden was held liable for the injury sustained by a spectator, as the years went on, things changed. In
the 1987 case involving Karen Friedman, the court held the father responsible and asserted that the
Houston Sports Association did everything they needed to protect themselves from premises liability
and spectator injuries. Lastly, the 2009 case confirmed that no duty was breached and that the stadium
or team was not held liable for the terrible injuries Emilio Crespin endured (Law Justia, 2009). Over
the seventy year period that these cases took place over, you can say how though once held liable,
stadiums have set standards in place to protect themselves from injuries that fan may suffer. Spectator
injuries and cases involving premises liability continue to influence the business of the sport industry.
The sport industry is a business centered around ticket sales,

The Issue Of Affirmative Action
On the contrary, supports of affirmative action feel that this law is still needed in America to help
places of higher education have more diversity which will benefit companies in the long run and it
also helps companies be more diverse and it helps them thrive. In the past few decades the number of
minorities and females in places of higher education and companies have been rising at a slow rate.
During 2012, the health care industry was suffering from lack of medical personal in the medical field;
however, 16% of the U.S. population is Latino and 14% is African American, these groups constituted
only 9% and 7%, respectively, of the total U.S. medical school enrollment in 2012 (Graces, paragraph
2). The rate of minorities enrolled in medical school has been slowly rising over the years. Having
minorities and females in a company helps the company be more diverse while also giving the
company employees that can help the company thrive and be successful. Supporters feel that this law
benefits people who usually would not have a chance of attending a place of higher education or be a
part of a company an equal and fair chance. Supporters of affirmative action feel that it is positive
discrimination and that it benefits places of higher education and companies not discriminate against
females and minorities. A significant, amount of court cases have been brought up to the Supreme
Court dealing with affirmative action. One important court case that deals with affirmative

40 Hour Famine
The 40 hour famine, an organisation founded by world vision, is done to raise money for people living
in developing countries that cannot afford the luxuries we take for granted. People around the world
participate by giving up something important to them for 40 hours (World Vision, 2015). This is an
important issue in today s community as the money raised goes to tackling the problem of poverty and
food shortage in third world countries. Global hunger is the world s biggest health risk, making
children sick and taking away their chance at a better future. By putting posters up around the
community, creating a website and sending out a survey we have been able to educate many people in
the community. These are all ways that can help to reduce ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hunger and malnutrition is the number one health risk stopping the mental development of children.
One in eight people goes to bed hungry every night with 850 million people around the world not
having enough food to be healthy and lead an active life (World Vision, 2015). For our health
promoting activity we created posters and hung them in the five sub schools (Appendix 1). This has
helped to educate many of the year 8 s and 9 s on this topic. We also sent many people a survey which
gave us insight into what people knew and also gave us a way of educating more people (Appendix 2).
Another thing we did to educate people was by creating a website with information about the
foundation and a link to the World Vision website where people can donate to the cause (Appendix 3).
By educating people on this topic we have expanded their knowledge on the cause. More people will
be able to participate and donate to the cause knowing that they will be helping many people around
the world. Other ways to promote this organisation can be creating a Facebook page, raising money,
having guest speakers, handing out brochures and creating a petition. These people will also be able to

Mood And Mood In William Shakespeare s The Tempest
Mood can set the tone for an entire scene, and if utilized properly can completely visually illustrate the
meaning of words. In William Shakespeare s The Tempest, mood transforms Ariel s song scene and
illustrates Ferdinand s emotions through the manipulation of lighting, sound, and visual props.
To begin, the scene, Act I Scene ii, opens with Ariel singing, Come unto these yellow sands, And then
take hands. Curtsied when you have, and kissed The wild waves whist./ Foot it featly here and there,/
And, sweet sprites/ bear The burden/ Hark, hark!...Hark, hark!/ I hear The strain of strutting
chanticleer (Act I, Scene ii, 375 381, 385 387). Ariel is singing to Ferdinand, son of King Alsono, who
has landed on an island after a shipwreck. Prospero ordered Ariel to guide Ferdinand to him, so Ariel
sings her song ushering Ferdinand through the yellow sand through the forest to Prospero. While Ariel
is singing to him, Ferdinand s mind is running amuck, he washed up on a mysterious island without
his father with him, he is disoriented and someone is singing quietly to him.
In order to set the mood for the scene, lighting is crucial to the audience s understanding. Throughout
Ariel s song, he would be standing on a rafter with a sole light would shining upon him demonstrating
to the audience that Ferdinand is unable to see Ariel, he can only hear him. Other than the light on
Ariel, the rest of the stage is dimly lit so the audience can barely see Ferdinand and is drawn into the
play. As the song continues, the stage becomes luminous so the audience can visualize where
Ferdinand is and where he is going. Ferdinand begins his journey on a sand beach and then Ariel
guides him through a lush forest, as he gets closer to Prospero the stage becomes more and more lit
until the stage is fully lit as Ferdinand reaching his final destination with Prospero and his daughter
Miranda.
Furthermore, sound plays a crucial role in audience interpretation of a scene. Throughout the scene we
can interpret that Ferdinand is lugubrious about losing his father and his emotions are all surfacing
when he states in Act I Scene ii, Where should this music be?/...This music crept by me upon the
waters/ Allaying both their fury

The Myers Briggs Test Indicator
Introduction Throughout the semester, I have come to learn many individual qualities about myself.
However, they were qualities I had secretly already known. Obviously, anybody you meet is going to
be confident about how self aware they may be about themselves, but, only when you sit down and
confront your personality you can discover who you really are. In terms of my self awareness, I am
clearly aware of who I am, yet I can be unaware of my tendencies. As a person, I can often loose track
of the things I repeatedly say and do. I can further describe this as going somewhere so many times
you lose track how you re getting there. Like the trip from my house to the University of Regina for

Humans Affecting The Nitrogen Cycle
In recent decades humans have been playing an increasingly large role in the nitrogen cycle. Not all of
the ways humans have been affecting the cycle have been negative, but the vast majority have been.
One key thing that has human activity that has been disrupting the nitrogen cycle is the burning of
fossil fuel. This burning releases carbon into the air at unnatural rate, and thus alters the amount of
nitrogen in the atmosphere. This has had far reaching effects that no one first thought of and is now
affecting the plant and animals in Acadia National Park. Another human activity that has increased
massively over the past few years is industrial nitrogen fixation. This process is used to create
fertilizer with high amount of nitrogen in it.

Persuasive Essay On Bitter Fruit
It is not unknown the discrimination towards the black race, especially African Americans during the
20th century. Therefore, in 1936, American writer, teacher and songwriter Abel Meeropol, composed
the poem Bitter Fruit. In an atmosphere of violence, he was inspired by a picture taken in Marion,
Indiana portraying the lynchings of Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith. These two African Americans
were arrested after being suspects in a robbery, murder and rape case. Nowadays Lawrence Bittler s
photography has become an iconic image of lynching. Although it was originally a written poem,
American blues jazz singer Billie Holiday performed it as a protest song for the first time in 1939. The
song is known as Strange Fruit where its lyrics and her

Power In The Godfather
Il Padrino
There are numerous themes expressed in Francis Ford Coppola s The Godfather. Through the use of
cinematography and mise en scene, one of the most dominant themes expressed throughout the film is
power. Though, only possessed by few, power is an important aspect of progress and growth in this
film. Specifically, the development of power demonstrated through Al Pacino s character: Michael
Corleone; transforming himself into the succeeding Don after his father. The fight for power, as shown
in the in the baptism scene and the Italian restaurant scene in the film, exemplify the idea of getting rid
of the competition and fighting for the power to control.
The restaurant scene; is a major turning point in the film, because it is ... Show more content on

Michael s face shows that he is unfocused and not really hearing what Sollozzo is saying. One thing to
notice is the blocking in this scene; that although we know there are other characters in the restaurant,
they seem to blend into the background and creates the feeling that the only people there are Michael,
Sollozzo, and the Police chief. Even though we see the waiter walking around; we never see his face
until after the shooting. After, there is a long shot and a high angle long shot of the entire restaurant
again. Before Michael heads to the bathroom, there are a 180 degree reverse shot rule taking place as
Michael starts to speak English. When Michael asks for permission to use the bathroom you can see
the irritation in Sollozzo s face. The scene then cuts between the table where the Police chief and
Sollozzo are, and Michael in the bathroom. This is done to increase the audience s suspense, because
we know what s about to happen. As Michael walks out of the bathroom the train noise starts up and
gets louder when Sollozzo continues to speak. By the look on Michael s face and his eye movements,
he is contemplating about what he s about to do and deafened and a little annoyed by the train noise;
disconnected from all that Sollozzo is saying. Right before he shoots, there is a close up on his face.
Then a few medium shots of the shootings and ending the scene with a long shot of the restaurant as
Michael rushes out, dropping the murder weapon and, finally a Long shot of the two dead

Gullah Culture
South Carolina is known for many of its historical customs and treasures, one of them being the
Gullah language and culture which has become a consistent characteristic of the Carolina coast and
low country. Gullah is identified as a language, culture, and way of life by many of the coastal
residents who still identify and participate in it, and the presence of Gullah is a center of interest for
those who travel to the sea islands of Charleston and Hilton Head to observe and learn more about it.
While Gullah is spoken by at least 300,000 African Americans in coastal regions across South
Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, it has been, and remains, a distinctive and important part of the history,

The first circle is made of Traditional Gullahs , whom are modern descendants of the historic Gullah
people who have remained in the low country region to the present day and continue with their
traditional Gullah language and culture to one extent or another. (Campbell). These peoples vary in
their degree of immersion in the Gullah culture, but still remain in the area in which the Gullah
language and lifestyle have been preserved since the days of slavery. The second circle, Modern
Gullahs , are separated into two groups. One group includes Gullahs who have remained in the low
country of South Carolina, but have lost their use of the language and culture. The second group is
made up of those who have retained their use of the Gullah language and culture, but live away from
their homeland. So, for example, there are many Gullah speaking families who live in Northeastern
cities such as New York, but send their children back to the southern coast so that the connection with
their traditions remains intact. The third circle of Gullah descendants is called Gullah Family . This
group is also separated into two different groups. The primary group including those who have lost
their Gullah language and culture when they moved away, but remained in contact with their family in
the low country; and the secondary being those who once left the land of their ancestors, but have
returned and begun to acquire the Gullah language and culture again. The final two groups are much
smaller, but no less important to the modern demographic of Gullah culture. The fourth circle, known
as the Gullah Diaspora refers to the Black Seminoles , whom are Gullah natives who fled to Florida
centuries ago, and allied themselves with the Seminoles/Native American groups there. Lastly, the
fifth circle is identified as the Gullah Descendants . This group is made up of those who were born or

Persuasive Essay On Poverty In America
Poverty in America is greatly known all around the world. For many years the nation s education
levels of children during school and insurance is a huge pillar that holds up poverty in the U.S.A. As a
country we have not done enough to overcome poverty. Even with new organizations being formed to
help with enhancements of education, like the America Gives More Act, the nation hasn t made the
Early Warning Systems or have improved influences for college saving plans.
According to the Huffington Post, forty five million Americans are living in poverty. The U.S. has
attempted to decrease this by enhancing the education system and bettering insurance costs for
struggling families. The America Gives More Act was apart of advancing the U.S. This restored and
expanded three charitable giving incentives such as food inventories, conservation easements, the IRA
rollover, as well as streamline the foundation excise tax stated in National Council of Nonprofit.
Community College to Career Fund Act was passed so Americans with low income are able to get the
training they need for better paying jobs. The Fraken.Senate.Gov document implies that community
colleges are harshly unfunded compared to four year colleges, and this Act will create a grant program
that will increase funding. Better funding comes better training, which means better jobs and pay,
which then decreases poverty for many Americans.
The Community Investment and Empowerment Act described on GovTrack is

Research Question Does the development of the dark triad personality traits in adolescence contribute
as the main factor to juvenile delinquency?
As Humans, we are understood to have a higher degree of variance in our behaviours than most other
species and this has a significant impact on the way we interact with others in society. My personal
interest in behavioural studies and criminology lead me to research more on the characteristics of
adolescence in relation to juvenile delinquency. Upon further research, I stumbled across the subject

The key findings so far have suggested that the psychopathic and narcissistic traits are highly
prevalent among adolescents. They also show factors leading to delinquency which include callous
unemotional and sadistic traits particularly in boys. Disengagement is another factor that plays a large
part in the emergence of Machiavellianism at an early stage. These findings will be useful in locating a
link between these behaviours and if they can be the main reason for juvenile delinquency.
The gap in these research papers is that they have not yet looked into why it was particularly boys that
developed these traits were more prone to delinquent behaviour than girls who did. Works Cited

Irene Gut Opdyk Sacrifice
Nomination For Irene Gut Opdyke For Courage to Care Award
The Courage to Care award deserves to go to Irene Gut Opdyke because of her heroic characteristics
which were brave, self sacrificing, and good hearted. These qualities allowed her to contribute heroic
actions. Irene did this during the most terrifying time for most people. The Holocaust was period time
where 6 million European Jews, as well as gypsies and homosexuals were killed by the German Nazi
regime. The Nazi s became of power in the month of January 1933. The hate for the jews came from
the idea that the jews were inferior where as the Germans were racially superior, also that jews were

I don t really know anything about gangs or even female gangs. Like on the article it said that Most
research indicates that males comprise the greatest proportion of gang members. From what I know
that I do agree that males are the greatest proportion of gang members, and in my opinion I think that
the difference between males and females gangs is that males are much stronger and they re more
serious. The female gangs they does do crazy things, and they are more on the bullying side. I do
agree that both of the gangs are also doing drugs and guns and violent methods. Typically, gang
members are thought of being involved in a great volume of drug dealing and violent crime,
particularly drive by shooting. Female gang members are immersed more in criminality than
previously thought, and are more likely to be influenced by a larger number of risk factors. And in my
opinion I do agree that female gang members are even more problematic than male gang members.

Observations And Reflections On The Us Health Care System
Observations and reflections on the US health care system, some worrying trends observed in recent

Medical errors are among the five most common causes of death in the United States, among them
cardiovascular, cancer, stroke and lung disease. According to scientists, the number of deaths of
Americans as a result of medical errors exceeds the number of deaths caused by breast cancer, car
accidents or AIDS. Checking the quality of care insurance company organized for the benefit of the
patient, and as a result hospitals financially punishes not only technical, but also for medical errors
(Ulene, 2008).
Implementation of the system to contain costs for voluntary health insurance does not mean that
reduce the amount of services provided to patients by insurance. Efforts are aimed at optimizing the
examination and treatment. For example, in our surgical hospital, through the use of advanced surgical
techniques, digital mobile X ray, the patient with a hip fracture can be discharged on day 2, and
consequently reduces the cost per bed day payments.
Urgently needed is the harmonization of standards of examination and treatment. Indeed, insurance
companies fear that in the epoch of private medicine, clinics tend to provide the best possible service
and therefore resort to a system matching each service provided by the insurer. It should be noted that
at present all serious, major insurance companies

Prostitution As A Form Of Sexual Abuse

number of countries prostitution is illegal: 109, number of countries prostitution is restricted: 11,

Prostitution is illegal in all states in the US except for 11 counties in Nevada. The Mann Act signed by
President Taft on June 25, 1910.
The purpose for this law was to stop harboring immigrant prostitutes, forced prostitution and
transportation across state lines. A Representative that s named James R. Mann was how the law got
its name, this act had dealings with child pornography and prostitution. Mann came across this law
because in Chicago 1909 people told him that pimps were forcing girls and women into prostitution.
In the US arguing for keeping sexual rights and privacy won out in the landmark Supreme Court
ruling Lawrence v. Texas stating that these sodomy laws consider constitutional law of a country nor
the government. Sex trade still continues, in 2007 Atlanta s sex trade was worth $290 million. Pimps
usually come with history, like being a pimp was a family business because there was a lot of their

College Writing Importance
If you were to ask a group of people if writing in college is important, almost everyone would agree
that it is, but it s the next question that stumps everyone and makes them have to think a little deeper.
That question is, why? Why is writing in college so important? College writing is a needed necessity
in college, and for your future career because most careers require writing or documenting to be done.
Not only is it important for everyone s career but it is especially important for my future in the
psychology department.
As I explored this question myself, I found it helpful to ask my peers what their thoughts are. My
mom has been a teacher and has worked in a school district for 22 years, she gave me her thoughts
when I asked, why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A virtual child is a child that you have online that you get to see develop and grow up. Along with
seeing your child grow up, you have to write essays reflecting on what is happening. Having a
background in college writing will help others including myself get these virtual writing tasks done
efficiently and strongly.
To help explore more about the idea of why college writing would be useful in my desired field of
study, I got in touch with my psychology professor. I asked my professor, what writing is needed in
psychology. Her response was that it depends on what area of psychology you work in, for example in
applied or clinical settings some tasks that deal with writing are treatment plans, clinical or progress
notes, psychological reports, and communication to other coworkers. In jobs such as a college
professor, this includes communication with students, colleagues, writing assignments, exams, reports
to administration, and research articles. When she was asked why writing skills are a good thing to
know in psychology she explained that, psychology in her opinion is only beneficial if ideas and
information can be communicated correctly. Weather it is with students or with or other professionals,
writing is an important thing to know to help get ideas out there in the psychology field. Lastly, I
asked what careers in the psychology field would writing come in handy. My professor s response was

Macroeconomics And Macroeconomics Of Macroeconomics
Macroeconomics (from the Greek prefix makro meaning large and economics) is a branch of
economics dealing with the performance, structure, behavior, and decision making of an economy as a
whole, rather than individual markets. This includes national, regional, and global economies.[1][2]
With microeconomics, macroeconomics is one of the two most general fields ineconomics.
Macroeconomists study aggregated indicators such as GDP, unemployment rates, National income,
price indices, and the interrelations among the different sectors of the economy, to better understand
how the whole economy functions. Macroeconomists develop models that explain the relationship
between such factors as national income, output, consumption, unemployment, inflation, savings,
investment, international trade and international finance. In contrast, microeconomics is primarily
focused on the actions of individual agents, such as firms and consumers, and how their behavior
determines prices and quantities in specific markets
While macroeconomics is a broad field of study, there are two areas of research that are emblematic of
the discipline: the attempt to understand the causes and consequences of short run fluctuations in
national income (the business cycle), and the attempt tounderstand the determinants of long run
economic growth (increases in national income). Macroeconomic models and their forecasts are used
by governments to assist in the development and evaluation of economic policy.

Essay on MP3 and Music
The Possibilities and Problems of Digital Recording and Distribution
Abstract: This essay deals with the creative possibilities generated by the influx of inexpensive and
easy to use digital recording software, hardware, and digital distribution techniques. One of the main
themes of the essay is the problem of upholding creativity and artistic integrity in an unmediated
digital environment.
What would you say if I told you that I had bought entire paragraphs of this paper online? You would
probably accuse me of plagiarism and disregard the contents of the essay. However, many
contemporary composers and their listeners consider the practice of buying digital loops of music for
use in compositions completely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, modern technology has made it possible to package many of the features of large recording
studios into small digital recording consoles, which amateur musicians can afford. The price of one of
these consoles, the Tascam Digital Portastudio 788, at Musiciansfriend.com, is $899.99 [1]. This
console, although seemingly expensive, is much more cost effective than paying for an entire studio,
and can achieve nearly the same results. The real benefit of a digital recording console, however, is the
creative control it bestows upon musicians. Instead of having a producer who dictates how the
recording should sound, the musician becomes the producer, giving him complete control over all
aspects of the composition. Additionally, because of the cost of studio recording, a musician s time in
the studio is usually limited. However, with a personal digital recording console, one can freely
experiment with new ideas without time constraints. While this unmediated recording environment
theoretically provides an artist with unlimited creative flexibility, it also allows for detrimental misuse
in the form of non original composition, which can negate the creative possibilities of this new artistic
process.
The accessibility and simplicity of the unmediated digital recording process enable individuals, who
otherwise would not be involved in music recording, damage the reputation

Blood, Toil, Tears And Sweat, And Dear Miss Breed
There are many ways to resolve conflict. Each of these different ways are effective in their own ways.
Most of these methods can resolve conflict better in some situations than others. These ways include
having a middle man, staying positive, listening to all parties and compromising, and just ignoring the
conflict. By far the universally best way to resolve conflict is by staying calm and positive. Some
works that show this are Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat by Winston Churchill, and Dear Miss Breed by
Joanne Oppenheim. Keeping positive is not only the best way to resolve conflict, there are many
benefits to staying positive. Staying positive has many health benefits along with helping to resolve
conflict. These benefits include, Increased life span, Lower rates of depression, Lower levels of

When you try to resolve conflict with a positive mindset and a calm temper the other party is more
likely to respond to you calmly. Also resolving conflict by staying calm and positive will help the
other person see and accept your side of the story (CMHC). When responding to conflict our attitude
and beliefs will have a huge impact on your ability to resolve the conflict. Having confidence in
yourself and believing that by leaning into the conflict you can improve the situation will benefit you
as a leader... when you develop a negative attitude about someone s role in a conflict, you assume the
other individual has negative intent (Stark). When you respond to conflict with a positive mind set and

Gilgamesh As An Existential Hero
Incredibly, one of the first recorded written works has much in common with one of the most modern
philosophical movements. Though the Epic of Gilgamesh was written from oral narration centuries
before the philosophy of existentialism was developed, the epic encompasses many of the main ideas
of Sartrean existentialism. Jean Paul Sartre developed existentialism as a characterization of the
human condition, and the movement that followed his ideas formed distinct literary tropes. Among
these is the existential hero, and in this case, the failed existential hero. Initially, Gilgamesh shows
development, becoming more important on a universal scale by becoming essential . However,
Gilgamesh, when faced with the fact of his own mortality, fails to accept it and is crippled by his own
existential dread. Though Gilgamesh elevates himself to a human living with essence, in the
existential view, he is unable to overcome the questions of mortality that plague him in the aftermath
of tragedy.
Existentialism was a philosophic and literary movement that peaked in popularity in the mid 1900 s.
First expounded by Sartre, the movement was initially a description of humanity, and attempted to
define what it meant to be human. In defining this, existentialism addressed questions about human
mortality, and the significance of life. One of the main principles in Sartrean existentialism is the
concept that existence precedes essence (Existentialism, Stanford Encyclopedia of

Global Problem Solving And Morals Cross
Global Community Discovery

Global problem solving and morals cross in various ways. Clearly, the way in which issues, for
example, environmental change, asset consumption, vicious passing, savage disparities in life chances,
and dangers to biodiversity are drawn nearer and considered, not to mention determined, epitomize
muultiple and significant moral issues. At the most fundamental level, the impression of the presence
of an issue is gotten from a feeling of incongruence between a given circumstance and the qualities the
viewer esteems pertinent to that circumstance. As needs be the structure of qualities that prompts the
esteeming of issues as worldwide issues needs examination. In any case, similarly, issues are not
comprehended in any dynamic or immaterial unbiased or quality free sense. They are determined, or
there is work to determine them, in headings or as per criteria and objectives got from qualities sets.
As needs be, the qualities appended to or fundamental, unequivocally or verifiably, worldwide critical
thinking activities and originations needs examination. There are no less than three fundamental
ranges of convergence of morals and worldwide issues, nearly between related, and each of which has
various consequent particular zones. ( Global ethics and problem solving | Nautilus Institute for

Technology Into Early Childhood Education
Matters to Consider when introducing Technology into Early Childhood Education
Introduction
Earlier research was more concerned with weather or not technology; including computers were, in
fact, beneficial to children s learning. Current research is concerned with how technology can be used
to support children s learning and development (Morrison, 2009). Acronyms like PC, CD, DVD, PDA,
DSL, eBay, and .com, are part of our professional vocabulary right alongside ECE... technology has
changed the way we teach children (Donohue, 2003). This author takes the position that technology is
beneficial to early childhood education. This paper will outline how technology is beneficial to early

It needs to be acknowledged that technology and media are social icons, and, most importantly,
children are active consumers of these products (Weddell, 2001). There is little wonder why
technology is being viewed as becoming, if not already, common place in the educational setting.
Zevenbergen (2010, p. 1) states, This generation has been immersed in technology since their
emergence into the world. Their homes have computer technology in all facets of gadgetry the remote
control for the television, the programmable microwave, the mobile phone computers, digital games
(such as Xbox, as well as those on the computer) .
Early childhood is a period of growth and rapid development. During this time, many children attend
preschool, where they have access to technology as a learning tool (Chen amp; Couse, 2010). There is
increasing interest and belief in the need to start this education [technology] at an earlier age, possibly
as soon as children begin formal schooling or even nursery school or kindergarten (Stables, 1997). In
a survey conducted by Flynn et, al. (2010), the results showed more than half of the educators
surveyed think that children should be introduced to technology between ages 3 and 4. Perhaps one
reason the findings would indicate this is due to the motivational

Badger Descriptive
Standing outside of 610 Main St, I was reluctant to head inside. The tannish brown brick building
stood four stories. Its rectangular frame was plain in design; riddled with standard rectangular
windows, you would expect to see in a building from the early nineteen hundreds. Street side there
was a set of standard aluminum framed glass doors with a brown plaque above them. The brown
rectangular plaque was pressed, allowing for its brass material to protrude out, giving it a three inch
border. Mimicking the border in design, the name Badger was centered on the plaque. If I hadn t seen

Hotel California Poetic Devices
In the Eagles song, Hotel California, the speaker describes their freedom in California before coming
across this hotel with beautiful women. Unfortunately for him, everything was not as it seems. The
song is very light and cheerful in the beginning, hinting at themes of innocence. Although later in the
song, the hotel takes on a slightly darker look as the speaker discovers its real purpose. In the song,
Hotel California, the use of poetic devices to describe its themes of innocence and desire become
prevalent. The use of metaphors show how the incoming insanity has seeped into the hotel through the
song s theme of desire, whereas the imagery shows the speakers depth of innocence in the beginning
of the song. The poetic devices used throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The metaphors used in the song show this. In line twenty seven, Her mind is Tiffany twisted, [...]. This
metaphor means that the woman is obsessed with desire for wealth; referring to her being twisted by
Tiffany and Co. which is a posh jewelry company. This metaphor s meaning is important because its
points back to theme of desire in which she is consumed by desire for wealth. In line fifty four, And
she said, We are all prisoners here, of our own device. This metaphor is straight forward as in the
women staying at the hotel are prisoners to their wealth and desire. This metaphor is also another
example of theme of desire. The song itself is also a metaphor. The Hotel California is not place, but it
represents the California lifestyle and Hollywood industry with its desire for riches and innocence
when first arriving there. The pun on line twenty eight again represents the theme of desire. On line
twenty eight, Mercedes bends. This clever pun could be seen as a misspelling, but it s not. This pun
means that the woman gets the bends (a type scuba diving sickness from surfacing too fast) from her
Mercedes Benz which means her world view is distorted by her greed for wealth. When the speaker

Mein Kampf, a book, which in the eyes of many adults, elders and adolescents who I have observed

war upon the globe, has retired from being published and sold in stores all across Germany. This
practice had been reconsidered, though, in January 2016. According to Mein Kampf, Hitler s

new annotated version of Adolf Hitler s Mein Kampf has begun to fill book stores in Germany. Many
german intellectuals believe that this event will not affect the perception of the citizen towards the

Literature Review On Child Aggression
S. Lee, J. Manganello, J. Rice, C. Taylor (2010) preformed a study to understand childhood
aggression. The journal article of Mothers Spanking of 3 Year Old Children and Subsequent Risk of
Children s Aggressive Behavior starts by saying that they are not the first to perform this research and
many of studies have displayed connection between corporal punishment with children and child
aggression. They are testing their research with new controlling factors, which have not been
controlled together before. (Lee et al., 2010) The main goal of the article is to determine the
association between the use of corporal punishment against 3 year old children and recognize later
aggressive behavior among those children.
Taylor et al wanted to learn the relationship between of CP on 3 year old and the outcome of being
more aggressive at the age of 5. They hypothesized that if they linked other significant maternal
parenting risk factors and demographic features that the aggressiveness increase. (Lee et al., 2010)
This observational study has integrated more than one study design, which includes longitudinal, cross

The Threat Of Supplier Power
The threat of supplier power is moderate. There are only a select few organic producers that make up a
large percentage of the organic food processed. Since a large number of 81 companies in 1995, the
corporations that produce the majority of the organic food has been limited to approximately 15
(Remington, 2014).
Competitive Rivalry In the industry, competition is high in most areas of the United States. There are
usually two to three Supermarkets in a given location depending on the population. Whole Foods has
an advantage with the organic and natural food buying trends, but many other businesses in the
industry such as Kroger, Costco, etc. have taken notice to the trend.
Threat of Substitution Whole Foods Market has a great selection of natural and organic foods trending
previously mentioned. The threat of substitution is high though. One reason this is true is due to the
superstores such as Wal Mart and Target. Consumers can go to those stores to have a one store
shopping experience for everything from food to clothing. Also, though the revenue in the industry,
mostly goes to the top 50 stores, there still exists local markets and farmers that communities would
rather support over the larger stores such as Whole Foods in the area.

Inclusion Proposal
I am writing this proposal so that you may consider inclusion as the primary way of providing students
with disabilities access to education by way of the least restrictive environment. While inclusion helps
fulfill the federal mandate of IDEA, it also has a profound impact on the students with disabilities
themselves as well as general education students and teachers.
The first reason I am recommending Inclusion is because, simply put, it is the law. Even though the
word inclusion is not a part of the language of the IDEA, passed in 1975, the mandate of Least
Restrictive Environment (LRE) is, and it can be successfully accomplished through inclusion (IDEA
Basics: LRE Video). And one cannot help but see that inclusion is the goal when looking at the LRE
Continuum of Placement chart. Levels 1 through 7 require a student with disabilities be present in a
regular school and levels 1 through eight require some amount of participation in a classroom with
students who do not have a disability (Continuum Placement chart). In fact, not including a student
with disabilities into a general education classroom should only be considered if all other options have
been exhausted.
Another reason to consider inclusion is the impact it will have on the student with a disability both
from an educational standpoint and as it relates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Interview On Therapeutic Communication Of Older Adults
Overview of Interview
For this visit summary, I have interviewed a 90 95 year old assisted living resident that will be re
named Joyce for the purpose of this paper. Before constructing the interview, I was very excited and
anxious to meet the resident I was interviewing for the first time. Upon arrival, I was put to ease once
meeting a genuine elderly woman in the lobby that was just as excited to meet me for the first time.
When reflecting on the interview I am glad to have had prior knowledge on therapeutic
communication of older adults. I had seemly used all of the tips that the book had highlighted. These
tips include attentive listening, authentic presence, clarifying, keeping focus, and providing intervals
of silence (Touhy Jett, 2016, p. 67).
The most important piece of communication with Joyce was providing silence for her to gather her
thoughts in response to my questions. During the first interview she had told me that she forgot to put
her hearing aids in because she did not like to wear them. If she was unable to hear me she would ask
me to repeat the question and then she would pause in silence gathering her thoughts to see if she
heard me correctly. The missing hearing aids was a communication barrier in our interviewing
process. Since I was aware that she was not wearing her hearing aids, I made sure I was placed
directly in front of Joyce when talking and was looking at her as I spoke.

Homelessness Is A Serious Social Problem
Homelessness in America has been a considered a serious social problem for at least thirty to forty
years, affecting thousands upon thousands of people in all regions of the country. The individuals and
families that make up the homeless population face struggles every day that many of us may never

homelessness. Unfortunately, many people in our society believe that homelessness is a personal
problem and should be up to the individual to fix. However, homelessness is actually a very serious
social problem that we all need to be concerned about and work together to bring it to an end. The
American society is so accustomed to labeling each other just by looks, clothing, and other material
goods. Power, wealth, and prestige seem to be the only things that many people want to live for, and
those people do not attempt to put themselves in other peoples shoes, especially not the shoes of a
homeless person. This is a terrible habit that has been such a huge part of our society for so long that a
lot of people do not even see the problem with it. They may not even realize how wrong and terrible it
is to label someone just by their looks or their life situation. But since we have done it for hundreds of
years, we all continue to do it and see no problem with it. Many people in our society label homeless

These findings could appeal to individuals who might question if they have hip dysplasia. It could also
appeal to the individuals that have developed hip dysplasia and are questioning if they could benefit
more from a hip replacement or other methods. My interest in this topic began a few years ago during
a recreational soccer season. My hips both were not as strong as they were during childhood. Over the
course of my high school career, I have spent multiple hours at different specialists for my hips,
physical therapy and hydrotherapy. Shortly after my sophomore year of high school, I decided I
needed to have periacetabular osteotomy surgery. I know that there are many options to correct a hip,
however, I am wondering if a PAO would be better for someone as a young adult. Brief Review of
Literature
The bone structure of a normal hip consists of an acetabular and a femoral head, which is covered with
articular cartilage, a smooth and strong cover. There is then a ring of cartilage which is called the
acetabular labrum. This provides stability, maintains joint fluid pressure and distributes weight to the
femoral head. With poor coverage of the femoral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was able to search until I found his website regarding different types of hips. Then, I looked at the
online databases through IPFW s library and was able to find the article that gave a very detailed
report on PAO s. This article provided a variety of statistics and also three case studies that
demonstrated recovery for a PAO. Lastly, I knew that there was an international hip dysplasia institute
and thought that I would be able to find sufficient information regarding hip

Green Technology – Past, Present, Future
Green technology is not just something of the present; it has history and is going to play a big role in
the future. The term technology refers to the application of knowledge for practical purposes.
(http://www.green technology.org, 2010) With that being said, green technology is a method of
products designed to protect our environment from toxins. We are living in the age of technology, but
we are not living in the environmentally cleanest era. In the 21st century we need to look into the
future and prepare for a cleaner environment with the impact of human involvement. Past Although
we do not hear a lot about the history of green technology there is a long time line of ideas. For
example, since 1000 B.C., Asia and Europe began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Similarities Between Judith And Her Maidservant
The painting Judith and Her Maidservant with the head of Holofernes was painted by the Italian born
painter Artemisia Gentileschi. In this Baroque painting, it depicts a story from the bible about Judith, a
widow, tricking an opposing leader, Holofernes, during a war. Judith and her maidservant enter
Holofernes tent and have rounds of drinks. Over time, Holofernes becomes quite drunk and passes
out. While he is passed out, Judith and her maidservant decapitates Holofernes thus defeating the
opposing soldiers in the war. In the painting, it depicts specifically moments after Holofernes head
was fully decapitated and Judith attempting to hide what she just did. In Gentileschi s painting, there
are a few naturalistic qualities that make her piece ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The skin of the women fold nicely, for example around Judith s face and neck, the folds are rounded
and proportionate to her body and face. The folds of the tent s cloth and the clothes around the bodies
of the women are absolutely realistic, wrapping eloquently around their bodies, arms, and waists. For
example, on the maidservants arm her sleeves not only appropriately look rolled up but they also
atomically match the maidservant s arm. However, I feel like the realism is lost when it comes to the
candle and Judith s sword. They look quite dull compared to the human figures and cloth in the
painting, making them look very simplistic. The light used in the painting is done very well, showing
that there can only be so much light coming from one candle, which makes the lighting very natural.
In my opinion, the light represents the pure and misogynistic views towards women. These views see
women as people that can t do wrong, seeing women only as kind or maternal beings. The dim or unlit
parts of the painting, specifically the maidservant hiding Holofernes head, represents the potential of

Dave Egger s Zeitoun

Syrian American owner of a painting and contracting company in New Orleans, Louisiana who has a

traveled the flooded city in a canoe rescuing neighbors, caring for abandoned animals, and giving out
fresh water, causing the readers of the novel to portray him as a hero, but lately people have been
saying otherwise. Zeitoun has abused his wife and has been convicted of felony stalking his wife.

In the novel, Zeitoun and his wife, Kathy Zeitoun, seem to have a stable and loving relationship, But
in recent years, the stable, loving relationship between Mr. Zeitoun and his wife, Kathy, that was
described in the 2009 best seller has taken a series of dark turns. The couple divorced last year after he
was convicted of assaulting her. And on Wednesday, the New Orleans police charged him with
plotting to have Kathy Zeitoun, her son and another man murdered. (Brown, Katrina Hero Facing
Charges in New Orleans). When the phrase has taken a series of dark turns is used, it s usually to
reveal that a situation took a turn for the worse, and if that s the case, Eggers should ve let the readers
know . Zeitoun and Kathy s relationship isn t what it used to be, it changed for the worst because
Zeitoun isn t who he used to be, now he s violent and out of his mind. Also, Eggers is a journalist, and
it s a journalist s job to keep the public updated on what is going on. To demonstrate, one of the rules
of journalist is to Gather, update and correct information throughout the life of a news story.

Blue Bacteria Lab Report
There was a mix up with placement of the Plasmid containing Bacteria (experiment s culture) and
control bacteria. The experiment s culture was place in the jar with no ampicillin. As a result, bacteria
with plasmid grew as well as bacteria without plasmid. However, it is possible to identify the
transformed culture because of the blue marker.
On the other hand, the control cells do not have the plasmids with ampicillin resistance and blue
marker so the population of bacteria cells are fewer in the jars with jars with ampicillin and they do
not have blue bacteria.
DISCUSSION
Plasmid DNA is negative and bacterium s cell wall is negatively charged. Thus, as DNA approaches
the cell wall it is repelled. The calcium chloride neutralizes the charge of the bacterium and DNA
therefore allowing the Bacterium cell wall to be in close proximity to a plasmid DNA. The bacterium
undergoes heat shock which is technique of place a bacterium in extreme temperature with wide
range. In the lab the bacteria was place in an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are properties E.coli normal does not have so control bacteria should look white and die in the
presence of ampicillin. The ampicillin marker was irrelevant in this experiment due an error of not
placing the experiments s data in ampicillin. In the end, data on how the bacterium with plasmids
would react with ampicillin is unknown.
Nevertheless, the evidence is successful at proving the transformation of bacteria is possible because
some cell took in the lac Z gene containing plasmid and were able to produce beta galactosidase as a
consequence turned blue. There seem to be an equal proportion of blue colony to cells without
plasmids. Without ampicillin degradation, there is an excess of bacteria without plasmids so the agar
jar does not have appearance satellite colony agar

Comparing Thanksgiving And Christmas
Although Thanksgiving and Christmas are close in date, they are both celebrated for different reasons.
Thanksgiving is a day celebrated as giving thanks for blessings brought throughout the year, it is also
a time to celebrate the years harvest. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. Even though
the holidays share many similarities, they also hold differences such as traditions, decorations, and the
reason as to why we celebrate each. The first difference in these holidays are the traditions. During
Thanksgiving, food is a huge celebration! It is the celebration of the harvest. This is the time that
family and friends gather to show how grateful they are for the blessings that have been brought to
them throughout the year. Christmas is known as the most wonderful time of the year, because of the

Thanksgiving is the celebration of harvest, we celebrate this day each year as a day to reflect on
blessings we have been given and for the great harvest throughout the year. Christmas is celebration of
the birth of Christ, although over the years it has became more of a holiday focused around awaiting
for Santa to arrive and leave gifts under the Christmas tree. The Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays
seem to have both lost their initial meaning throughout the years, we now celebrate them in the ways
we choose to rather than how they use to be celebrated. Thanksgiving and Christmas are both heavily
celebrated throughout, during the last couple of months of the year it seem to be holidays back to back
making everything seem joyful. Although the holidays are close in date they are very different reasons
for celebration. Some differences in Thanksgiving and Christmas include traditions, decorations, and
reasons that we celebrate. During these joyful time s we tend to decorate and listen to music of these
times as well as trying to remember our blessings and why we have these

True Grit And Ray From Charles Portis s The Dog Of The...
When someone is devoted in life, they can most likely achieve their all time life goals. Mattie Ross
from Charles Portis s True Grit and Ray from Charles Portis s The dog of the south show devotion
throughout their novels: obsession showing devotion, revenge showing devotion, and bravery leading
to devotion. Throughout True Grit Mattie is shown to be obsessive, which is shown through her
devotion throughout the novel. That is my father. I stood there looking at him. What a waste! Tom
Chaney! Would pay for this! I would not rest easy until that Louisiana cur was roasting and screaming
in hell (24). Mattie ultimately is enraged at the fact a drunken coward kills her father, She set s out to
find her father s killer, since she has an obsession over her father s death. Another piece of evidence
from the text that shows this is when, a Sheriff tells Mattie about the toughest U.S Marshall, The
meanest one is Rooster Cogburn. He is a pitless man, double tough, and fear don t enter into his
thinking. He loves to pull cork. Now L.T Quinn, he brings his prisoners alive... He will not plant
evidence or abuse a prisoner. He is a straight as a string (37). The Sheriff in this quote has just
answered Mattie s question on to where she could find one of the toughest U.S Marshall s to track
down her father s killer, she then becomes obsessed with this man, and it become one of her goals to
set out and find him. Throughout The Dog of the South Ray is shown being very

All three of these cases take place over different time periods. Though in the first case, the Boston Garden was held liable for the injury sustained by a spectator, as the years went on, things changed. In the 1987 case involving Karen Friedman, the court held the father responsible and asserted that the Houston Sports Association did everything they needed to protect themselves from premises liability and spectator injuries. Lastly, the 2009 case confirmed that no duty was breached and that the stadium or team was not held liable for the terrible injuries Emilio Crespin endured (Law Justia, 2009). Over the seventy year period that these cases took place over, you can say how though once held liable, stadiums have set standards in place to protect themselves from injuries that fan may suffer. • 7. Mood And Mood In William Shakespeare s The Tempest Mood can set the tone for an entire scene, and if utilized properly can completely visually illustrate the meaning of words. In William Shakespeare s The Tempest, mood transforms Ariel s song scene and illustrates Ferdinand s emotions through the manipulation of lighting, sound, and visual props. To begin, the scene, Act I Scene ii, opens with Ariel singing, Come unto these yellow sands, And then take hands. Curtsied when you have, and kissed The wild waves whist./ Foot it featly here and there,/ And, sweet sprites/ bear The burden/ Hark, hark!...Hark, hark!/ I hear The strain of strutting chanticleer (Act I, Scene ii, 375 381, 385 387). Ariel is singing to Ferdinand, son of King Alsono, who has landed on an island after a shipwreck. Prospero ordered Ariel to guide Ferdinand to him, so Ariel sings her song ushering Ferdinand through the yellow sand through the forest to Prospero. While Ariel is singing to him, Ferdinand s mind is running amuck, he washed up on a mysterious island without his father with him, he is disoriented and someone is singing quietly to him. In order to set the mood for the scene, lighting is crucial to the audience s understanding. Throughout Ariel s song, he would be standing on a rafter with a sole light would shining upon him demonstrating to the audience that Ferdinand is unable to see Ariel, he can only hear him. Other than the light on Ariel, the rest of the stage is dimly lit so the audience can barely see Ferdinand and is drawn into the play. As the song continues, the stage becomes luminous so the audience can visualize where Ferdinand is and where he is going. Ferdinand begins his journey on a sand beach and then Ariel guides him through a lush forest, as he gets closer to Prospero the stage becomes more and more lit until the stage is fully lit as Ferdinand reaching his final destination with Prospero and his daughter Miranda. Furthermore, sound plays a crucial role in audience interpretation of a scene. Throughout the scene we can interpret that Ferdinand is lugubrious about losing his father and his emotions are all surfacing when he states in Act I Scene ii, Where should this music be?/...This music crept by me upon the waters/ Allaying both their fury ... Macroeconomics And Macroeconomics Of Macroeconomics Macroeconomics (from the Greek prefix makro meaning large and economics) is a branch of economics dealing with the performance, structure, behavior, and decision making of an economy as a whole, rather than individual markets. This includes national, regional, and global economies.[1][2] With microeconomics, macroeconomics is one of the two most general fields ineconomics. Macroeconomists study aggregated indicators such as GDP, unemployment rates, National income, price indices, and the interrelations among the different sectors of the economy, to better understand how the whole economy functions. Macroeconomists develop models that explain the relationship between such factors as national income, output, consumption, unemployment, inflation, savings, investment, international trade and international finance. In contrast, microeconomics is primarily focused on the actions of individual agents, such as firms and consumers, and how their behavior determines prices and quantities in specific markets While macroeconomics is a broad field of study, there are two areas of research that are emblematic of the discipline: the attempt to understand the causes and consequences of short run fluctuations in national income (the business cycle), and the attempt tounderstand the determinants of long run economic growth (increases in national income). This console, although seemingly expensive, is much more cost effective than paying for an entire studio, and can achieve nearly the same results. The real benefit of a digital recording console, however, is the creative control it bestows upon musicians. Instead of having a producer who dictates how the recording should sound, the musician becomes the producer, giving him complete control over all aspects of the composition. Additionally, because of the cost of studio recording, a musician s time in the studio is usually limited. However, with a personal digital recording console, one can freely experiment with new ideas without time constraints. While this unmediated recording environment theoretically provides an artist with unlimited creative flexibility, it also allows for detrimental misuse in the form of non original composition, which can negate the creative possibilities of this new artistic process. • 25. Gilgamesh As An Existential Hero Incredibly, one of the first recorded written works has much in common with one of the most modern philosophical movements. Though the Epic of Gilgamesh was written from oral narration centuries before the philosophy of existentialism was developed, the epic encompasses many of the main ideas of Sartrean existentialism. Jean Paul Sartre developed existentialism as a characterization of the human condition, and the movement that followed his ideas formed distinct literary tropes. Among these is the existential hero, and in this case, the failed existential hero. Initially, Gilgamesh shows development, becoming more important on a universal scale by becoming essential . However, Gilgamesh, when faced with the fact of his own mortality, fails to accept it and is crippled by his own existential dread. Though Gilgamesh elevates himself to a human living with essence, in the existential view, he is unable to overcome the questions of mortality that plague him in the aftermath of tragedy. Existentialism was a philosophic and literary movement that peaked in popularity in the mid 1900 s. First expounded by Sartre, the movement was initially a description of humanity, and attempted to define what it meant to be human. In defining this, existentialism addressed questions about human mortality, and the significance of life. One of the main principles in Sartrean existentialism is the concept that existence precedes essence (Existentialism, Stanford Encyclopedia of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, it is possible to identify the transformed culture because of the blue marker. On the other hand, the control cells do not have the plasmids with ampicillin resistance and blue marker so the population of bacteria cells are fewer in the jars with jars with ampicillin and they do not have blue bacteria. DISCUSSION Plasmid DNA is negative and bacterium s cell wall is negatively charged. Thus, as DNA approaches the cell wall it is repelled. The calcium chloride neutralizes the charge of the bacterium and DNA therefore allowing the Bacterium cell wall to be in close proximity to a plasmid DNA. The bacterium undergoes heat shock which is technique of place a bacterium in extreme temperature with wide range. In the lab the bacteria was place in an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These are properties E.coli normal does not have so control bacteria should look white and die in the presence of ampicillin. The ampicillin marker was irrelevant in this experiment due an error of not placing the experiments s data in ampicillin. In the end, data on how the bacterium with plasmids would react with ampicillin is unknown. Nevertheless, the evidence is successful at proving the transformation of bacteria is possible because some cell took in the lac Z gene containing plasmid and were able to produce beta galactosidase as a consequence turned blue. There seem to be an equal proportion of blue colony to cells without plasmids. Without ampicillin degradation, there is an excess of bacteria without plasmids so the agar jar does not have appearance satellite colony agar ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
