Negligence In Emergency Management Law
Emergency management law derives from federal, state and local laws which legal responsibility may
result in liability (Nicholson, p 393). When addressing the state law, the tort concept arise known as
negligence (Nicholson, p 393). Also, Immunities protect emergency managers under certain
conditions (Nicholson, p 393). The National Fire Protection Association and post 9/11 federal law
generated new benchmarks for emergency managers to follow that resulted in federal funds for the
state and local emergency management performance (Nicholson, p 393).
Private and non profit sectors plays a major role in a disaster operations providing unlimited services
that boost the effectiveness of government disaster response (both short and long term),

Comey Memo For Trump Analysis
The Article, How dangerous is Comey memo for Trump? discuses the trouble the President has gotten
himself into over the past few days. I believe that our government needs to take a step back and figure
themselves out along with briefing the president on what he can and cannot tell foreign countries.
In the Article, How dangerous is Comey memo for Trump? it states the current status of President
Trumps legal problems over the past few weeks. It starts will explaining how the White House is
denying the allegations of the President trying to get the FBI to drop their investigation on him. It also
explains that Trump has had many issues within the last 24 hours one of those being him leaking
information to Russia over dinner. The article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to go away. The first reason he gave was, High Crimes and Misdemeanors, stating that with people
calling this act treasonous many are calling for immediate removal. The second reason was, The
Russian Factor, he explained that with Trumps current investigation with being involved with Russia
during the election the fact that he leaking the information to Russian officials seems almost to
validate the issues in his FBI investigation. The third reason, Skeptical allies, explains exactly what

Physics Behind Modern 4 Stroke Engines Essay
We ve all seen them before, the mysterious chunks of metal under the hoods of our cars. They start
when we turn the key and take us where we want to go. But how does an engine work? Internal
combustion engines are a very important part of everyday life. We use them in our cars, trucks,
airplanes. boats, snowmachines, 4 wheelers, and heavy machinery. These pages will help familiarize
you with the basic concepts of how an engine works, an understanding of engine output, and some
information on how forced induction or boost increases power output.
Engine Basics
A very common variant of the internal combustion engine is the four stroke engine. These engines
have four strokes for each combustion cycle. These engines are ... Show more content on

The chemical equation is as follows.
2 C8H18 (gas) + 25 O2 = 16 CO2 + 18H2O
This equation is representative of a stoichiometric air fuel ratio (14.7:1). However under normal
driving conditions an engine will encounter lean conditions when cruising on the highway (better
milage) and rich conditions when accelerating (better power). The lean condition results in oxide and
harmful nitrogen compound production. Rich conditions result in carbon monoxide production. For
this reason a catalytic converter is used on most larger engines.
The catalyst material in a cat is in a wire mesh or honeycomb. This allows a high surface area to be
exposed to the passing exhaust gasses. The catalyst (typically platinum) converts the harmfull nitrogen
oxides and carbon monoxide into nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and oxygen. Catalytic converters work
best when warm (as the reaction rate increases with temperature) so some car manufacturers are
putting pre cats in the exhaust manifold to convert the gasses while the exhaust system is still warming
up.
That covers the basic function of an engine fron intake to exhaust. Next we will explore the
relationship of Horsepower vs Torque.
Engine output is measured in two ways. The first is a direct measurement of engine output: Torque.
Torque is defined as the amount of mass that can be lifted a certain distance from the center of

2008-2009 Ethnographic Case Study
Equity and Engagement
In a 2008 2009 ethnographic case study of four fifth grade classrooms with varying levels of Native
American student enrollment, Stone and Hamann (2012) seek the reasons for performance disparity
amongst American Indian students attending schools that implemented inquiry based mathematics
through the Investigations, an inquiry based math curriculum. Additionally, Stone and Hamann (2012)

student groups. Employing multilevel modeling of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study

to a direct test of whether or how inquiry based mathematics education was helping American Indian
elementary students or reducing achievement gaps (p. 61). Implementation of Investigations garnered
universally higher scores, however the impact on the achievement gap remained marginal (Stone
Hamann, 2012). Consequently, Stone sought alternative agents of change, which had the potential to
affect American Indian students math achievement. Stone and Hamann shifted their focus to
observable differences in culture at each of the schools. The modification in the research focus led to
the valuable insight that high expectations correlates with improved mathematics scores among all
student groups. Although Mueller and Maher s (2010) study consists of the smallest cohort, the
student participants most closely align with the participant group selected for this action research
project. Mueller and Maher (2010) offer two vignettes, which provide a rich description of both
teacher, and student actions, which led to successful problem solving in the study. A significant
weakness in the study remains a dearth of baseline and summative data. The credibility of the research
would be significantly enhanced through

Stanley Milgram’s Behavioral Study of Obedience Essay
The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable
opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum.... ― Noam Chomsky, The Common Good
Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves. ― Henry David Thoreau
In the early 1960 s Stanley Milgram (1963) performed an experiment titled Behavioral Study of
Obedience to measure compliance levels of test subjects prompted to administer punishment to
learners. The experiment had surprising results. Purpose of the research. Stanley Milgram s (1963),

The subjects were informed that the punishment would not cause permanent tissue damage, however,
could be extremely painful. The subjects observed the learner/accomplice being prepared with
electrodes strapped in a chair. The teacher/subjects read a series of word pairs to the learner then read
the first word of the pair along with four terms. The learner s role was to pair the first word with the
correct term (Milgram, 1963). The learner would then press one of four switches attached to an
electrical shock generator indicating his response. Unknown to the teacher, in all conditions the
learner gives a predetermined set of responses to the word pair test, based on the schedule of
approximately three wrong answers to one correct answer (Milgram, 1963). To authenticate the
potential electrical intensity to the learner the teacher is sampled with a 45 volt shock to the wrist. The
teacher is then instructed to administer an incrementally increasing punishing electrical shock for each
incorrect answer. This follows several methods to inform the teacher of the potential impact of the
electrical shock that they will administer. These included, warnings listing the voltage range of 15 to
450 volts labeled Slight Shock, Moderate Shock, Strong Shock, Extreme Intensity Shock, Danger

The Importance Of Being A Hero
The most important and impactful part of being a hero is essentially doing heroic things. A heroic
action, in this case, would be qualified as an act that benefits others more than yourself and is
characterized as having a generally upstanding moral motive. In this respect, Dr. Manhattan would be
the most successful hero because not only does he end a war, but he is also the reason that nuclear war
was postponed for so long (Moore, Gibbons 130). Just having a godlike hero present that could stop
nuclear conflict at any time was enough to keep countries from annihilating all humans. From this
logic, Dr. Manhattan saved the most lives for the longest period of time therefore doing the most good.
This outweighs his lack of empathy and compassion. Regardless of how he feels about people, he still
believes they have the capability of doing good and he protects them. Similarly, Ozymandias also
takes part in preventing nuclear war. However, he does this in what is essentially the most evil way: by
killing millions (Moore, Gibbons 401). He thinks he is doing what is right, but he is responsible for
upholding values rather than revolutionizing the world. Killing millions of innocent citizens, by most
people s standards, immoral and unjust, and therefore Veidt is not acting entirely as a hero.
Furthermore, it cannot be ignored that by making this sacrifice, Veidt saved more than he killed. When
referring to villainous personalities, a common and determining factor is not valuing

Roosevelt Way Reflection
Hi, Ms. Wilkin! According to a brochure (on the school s website) titled, The Roosevelt Way, The staff
and students have worked together to build a positive school climate, one in which Mrs. Roosevelt
would have taken great pride. As a professional substitute teacher, I too, take keen pride in every one
of my students. In fact, I am confident that when I walk into a classroom, my role and palpable
commitment is to make a positive impact on every single student. Even though I esteem my students
highly, every now and then, I witness a student(s) who wants to challenge my authority. On Friday,
June 8, during 7th period, for example, Fabio Arroliga (not sure of the name s right spelling), was

Should Adopted Kids Know Who Their Biological Parents Are?
Whether adoptive children should know who their birth parents is something that is questioned too
much. Children should have the right to be able to know who their birth parents are if they choose to
do so. If children do not want to know who their birth parents are then they probably have a reason
behind it. Children who do not know who their birth parents are, should find out who they are so that
they can have contact with them. Some children are absolutely accurate that they do not want to know
about who their birth parents are, but on the other hand some children do want to figure out who their

This is unless that the adoptive parents make the decision to decide whether to tell the child that they
are adopted. The issues of adoption can be very tender and can cause torture to the child if the
information is given to them at a later age. To help take care of this situation the information is hidden
from the child until they are old enough to make their own decisions. However many children have
the desire to know why they were adopted and who their biological parents are. For the child to be
willing to find out who their biological parents are is something that a lot of people question. On the
other hand it is the right of the child to search for their biological parents if they have the desire to.
When they are grown up then they have the right to make their own decision about what they want to

ensure a homeland for people that is secure, safe and resilient against terrorism and other hazards
where American interests, aspirations, and their ways of life can thrive to the national effort to prevent
terrorist attacks or any sort of danger within the United States of and minimize the damage from

The new department would have four major functions in order to ensure the security for our

President George W. Bush, he is the man who is involved and started the legislation that does not give

Advantages Of CNC Machining
I. INTRODUCTION
C
NC Machining is a process used in the manufacturing sector that involves the use of computers to
control machine tools. Tools that can be controlled in this manner include lathes, mills, routers and
grinders. The CNC in CNC Machining stands for Computer Numerical Control. On the surface, it may
look like a normal PC controls the machines, but the computer s unique software and control console
are what really sets the system apart for use in CNC machining. Under CNC Machining, machine
tools function through numerical control. A computer program is customized for an object and the
machines are programmed with CNC machining language (called G code) that essentially controls all
features like feed rate, coordination, location ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The program is loaded and finally an operator runs a test of the program to ensure there are no
problems. This trial run is referred to as cutting air and it is an important step because any mistake
with speed and tool position could result in a scraped part or a damaged machine. There are many
advantages to using CNC Machining. The process is more precise than manual machining, and can be
repeated in exactly the same manner over and over again. Because of the precision possible with CNC
Machining, this process can produce complex shapes that would be almost impossible to achieve with
manual machining. CNC Machining is used in the production of many complex three dimensional
shapes. It is because of these qualities that CNC Machining is used in jobs that need a high level of
precision or very repetitive tasks. Other than that, there has some problem that always occur in CNC
machine such as electrical fault, parameter issues, door and safety interlocks and others. If you are
considering a career in CNC Machining, it would be useful to have a background in mathematics,
industrial arts and mechanical drafting, as well as computer usage. There are many common problem
of CNC Machining such as the material burns on outside edge, the material burns on outside edge, the
material burns on internal corners of mould, the tool is burnt, burnt edges of holes, raised mark along
edge of moulding, rough edge, cutter marks visible, component moves sideways and component not

Analysis Of Papyrus Original Writing
OH! HUMAN! I M VERY SORRY! Papyrus yelped and rushed over to you, a wash cloth in his
gloved hand.
The kitchen walls were covered in red (You guessed it was sauce) and a boiling pot of water sat on the
stove, with several boxes of empty boxes of pasta sitting dangerously close to the flame.
He started to rub the sauce off your face, getting incredibly close. You felt your cheeks flushed at the
proximity.
HU (Y/N)? ARE YOU ALRIGHT? YOUR FACE IS INCREDIABLY RED, ARE YOU SICK?
Papyrus slipped a glove off and placed the back of his hand on your forehead.
I I m okay, I p promise! You managed to get out. Papyrus stepped away from you and opened his
mouth to speak but from behind him you saw smoke.
Papyrus! Fire! You yelped and pushed past the skeleton, you and began running over to the stove and
cabinet which were in flames. A box had caught fire and ignited the rest of them which in turn caught
the cabinets on fire.
Instinctively you grabbed the pot of boiling water and flung it onto the fire, sending scalding water
and pasta all over the kitchen and onto you. You felt an intense pain shoot through your hands as the
water splashed onto you, yelping, you jumped back only to slip on the water.
You closed your eyes and braced yourself for impact with the ground but it never came.
Boney arms were wrapped around you keeping you from hitting the ground. Papyrus looked down at
you, concern in his eyes as he gently picked you up as if you weighed nothing. Your arms and hands

Perseverance
Overall Purpose/Theme:
The overall theme of the poem was Perseverance because the bird who has been thrown into the real
world must overcome all obstacles thrown its way to live a good life.
Evidence to support the theme:
1. Thomas Hardy writes and every spirit upon the earth seemed fervourless as I (15 16). Although this
sounds like the opposite of perseverance this is when the bird is actually realizing that it will be living
in this dark gruesome world and it needs to just suck it up and deal with it.
2. The author states That I could think there trembled through His happy good night air some blessed
hope (29 31). This quote shows the speakers hope for perseverance after hearing the birds insightful
song on how you will need to be prepared to take on the world and the only way is if you persevere
because the world will throw many obstacles your way and you need to be prepared for it.

The author states So little cause for carolings of such ecstatic sound was written on terrestrial things

bird, it also shows how the bird overcame its fears by singling different songs.
Biographical context: Thomas Hardy born in Stinsford, Dorchester, Dorset, England on June 20th in
the year 1840. Thomas Hardy s inspiration of poetry is unknown but his enjoyed basing his works of
literature in the fictionalized county of Wessex. Thomas Hardy passed away on the date January 11,
1928. Thomas Hardy wrote the poem The Darkling Thrush to identify the ending of one century and

Essay on Diomedes, the True Hero of Homer’s Iliad
Diomedes, the True Hero of The Iliad
In The Iliad, written in a 3rd person omniscient point of view, Homer gives a very serious account of
the tenth and last year of the Trojan War. It was in Homer s account that the very idea of becoming a
legendary hero reached its pinnacle; the choice of the better hero was not decided on the events they
participated in, but rather by their characteristics. The ancient Greeks had strict criteria for individuals
to follow if they were to be seen as heroes. Above all, a man needed to be a skilled warrior, but this
was not the only requirement. To be a hero, a warrior had to respect authority, both governmental and
religious. The Greeks gave heroes no room for pride. These men were to be modest, ... Show more

However, this fight may have never happened if Athena had not disguised herself as one of Hector s
brothers and convinced him to fight (260). That was not enough though, as Athena then helped
Achilles win the fight (260 261). This seems to be the case with all of Achilles battles. A god, goddess,
or gods help him in battle by strengthening and encouraging him and his men, or they rally a Trojan
army into entering a futile final battle. Diomedes is also guilty of receiving help from the gods. After
praying for Athena s aid, Diomedes proceeds to not only slay Pandaros (who wounded him earlier)
and many other Trojans, but also wound Aeneas in his hip and his mother Aphrodite in her hand (60
64). Later on in the same battle, Diomedes thrusts his spear through the belly of Ares, also done with
the help of Athena (73). Another example of Diomedes skill comes when he and Odysseus spy on the
Trojan camp. Diomedes goes ahead of Odysseus and strikes down so many Trojans that the ground
was reddened with blood (124). Even before this, Diomedes prayed again to Athena for help. It seems
no Greek warrior could fight their own battles; instead, they requested help from the gods. This fact
makes it difficult to discern the better fighter between Achilles and Diomedes, but the common choice
would probably be Achilles because of his legendary status and he was the son of an immortal.

is referring to Hayduke in this statement. Even though this statement is meant as a joke, Doc has some
truth behind it as it backs up Hayduke s shocking actions with events such as the train and later in the
book when he fakes his own death. Overall, Hayduke throughout the book had always craved
violence. On multiple occasions he asked if they could use guns or blow something up. Out of the
entire gang, he seemed to be the only one who had a strong desire to be outright destructive. This is
because of his past in Vietnam, he had experienced many violent things there, as a soldier and as a

Medieval Tailors Essay
Kenley Collins, Ariana Grande s fashion designer, would not be able survive as a medieval tailor.
Tailors were hired to make all kinds of clothing from underwear to silk gowns. People in the middle
ages often wore tunics, togas, trousers, and sandals. Women often wore long sleeved linen dresses
called chemises and men often wore gowns. Even though tailors had a difficult peasant life they made
clothes for the nobility and influenced fashion.
Medieval tailors, made clothes for a small segment of the population. A tailor made clothes for the
nobles and had to have knowledge of various fine and expensive materials. Some clothes tailors used

Essay On Cheating Infraction
On April 11, 2017, a report was filed through the Honor Code indicating my involvement in a cheating

questions, in addition to a few rules students must abide by during the exam. These rules include, but
are not limited to, the restriction of cheating, cell phone use, plagiarism, and resubmission.

of this incident. This was a one time incident that occurred due to laziness and lack of respect I had for
myself, my abilities, and for the class. This will never occur again and I have truly learned my lesson.
Consequently, I have changed my behavior. I now believe in the importance of studying rather than
winging it, honoring myself and my class rather than getting by, and learning the material for the sake
of knowledge rather than to just pass it.
The Honor Code policies at various public universities hold striking similarities, and obvious
differences, to the policies set in place at the University of Colorado Boulder. To commence, the

German Blue Book
It is often said that history is written by the victors. Prior to the Paris Peace Conference and the
drafting of the Treaty of Versailles, one of the issues debated amongst the victorious Allies was
whether or not Germany should be allowed to retain their overseas protectorates. In the last months of
the war, the South African government, which was tied to Great Britain, published a Blue Book
concerning the vicious nature of German colonial rule in German South West Africa, the territory now
known as Namibia. In response to what they claimed to be false accusations, the German Colonial
Office published their own White Book in 1919 that addressed and refuted the charges made against
them. However, as historian Ulrike Lindner notes, The cruelty ... Show more content on

Health Issues Of The Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic has many prevalent health issues through out the country. Some of the health
issues that are common are AIDs, tuberculosis, and chikungunya. There are also waterborne health
issues preventing people from being able to drink the water from the faucet daily without getting sick.
The infancy mortality rate is very high as well as the children being born with a disease or virus. There
are many health organizations trying to eliminate and lower the rates of these diseases and viruses but
there is a lack of resources. Compared to the US, some Dominican people face a lot more deaths and
disease because they lack the resources to diagnosis their illness and to later find treatment. Over the
years, the rate of AIDs/HIV has grown to 0.8 percent. AIDs is a disease in which there is a deficiency
of the body s immunity, lowering the resistance to infection. some of the symptoms are a severe
cough, headaches, and skin rashes. If a person does not get their HIV virus treated it will eventually
lead to AIDs. Since there is a lack of resources in the Dominican AIDs is a common disease for
women and children. In the Dominican it is most commonly transmitted through pregnancy from the
mother to the child. Another common way that it is spread is through prostitution of females and
males. Many young women are having sexually relations with older men who have the disease
causing it to spread. The woman is likely to get pregnant causing their child to get the

Fools And Rascals In The Canterbury Tales
Geoffrey Chaucer introduces a wide variety of characters to the readers of The Canterbury Tales. From
a knight to a cook, the pilgrims in the work each have their own story as well as a purpose with their
stories even though that purpose is difficult to find at first. Jill Mann contends, Undoubtedly it is true
that Chaucer not only persuades us that fools and rascals can be very charming people, but is at the
same time taking care to make us suspect that they are fools and rascals (Chaucer and Medieval
Estates Satire 192). The charm of these fools and rascals are amusing at first, but readers must also
remember that these characters are still not exempt from their faults and flaws. Mann s observation
pertaining to Chaucer s pilgrims and their corresponding tales applies most accurately to the Pardoner,
the Miller, and the Wife of Bath. The Pardoner lives in such a state of contradiction that readers can
find humor in it. While he centers his preachings on the Latin phrase Radix malorum est cupiditas or
Avarice is the root of evil, the Pardoner craves money and riches most of all (Chaucer 312). His
hypocrisy is so ridiculous that the Pardoner becomes a caricature of a corrupted churchman, selling
fake holy relics to fund his sinful greed. Chaucer never fails to remind the reader of the Pardoner s
corruption since the man boasts about his trickery loudly and proudly. Chaucer shows his audience
what a man of the church should not be when they look at the Pardoner. In his

Roman Corinthian Temples
The Roman Corinthian temples were a testament to the construction techniques and its architecture

as a place of high importance which was adorned with reliefs and sculptures. A typical Roman temple,
for example, Temple of Augustus and Roma consisted of a cella housing the main deity and
approached through a colonnaded portico (pronaos) by means of a flight of stairs. The temples were
constructed with the help of concrete and oriented themselves to face east towards the rising sun and

The American Dream during the Time of the Imagist Movement
I, too, dislike it. Reading it, however, with a perfect contempt for it, one discovers in it, after all, a
place for the genuine (Twentieth Cenutry 231). The time of the imagists was a time of change.
Sometimes that change was and other times it wasn t so good. They fought for freedom, refering to
African Americans and the fight for civil rights. They changed the rules on how to write. They even
made such a lasting impression that the way of writing continued past the time period and changed
into a style of writing to last the years. Although it was said to be created by one man, the idea actually
came from another who had brought the idea up before its time. It eventually reversed the fact that it
came about before it was ready and ended up lasting long after the era was declared over. Since the
literature was changing so was the mind set and it was directly related. This is where the American
Dream comes into play. The American Dream during the time of the Imagist Movement could be
represented by the way of life in that the people of the time were changing, not only in their writing,
but with how they were living in that they would fight for equality or be more focused on what was
real, and that sense of changing was solidified in the American Dream. The change during the Imagist
Movement was due to the new outlook on writing and how the literature was changing. This
movement spurred from the use of symbolism in the early twentieth century. This movement occured

The Treatment Of The Surgical Setting
The surgical setting is very different from the generalized floors that I have become accustomed to.
The exposure I had today included observing the operating room setting, the PACU, and the exchange
of patient care to a generalized or outpatient floor. In preparation for my clinical day I had finished the
module readings relating to peri operative care which I found useful because I had a base knowledge
of information to build upon. I selected one patient to gather information from which included his
surgery, patient information, and care he received in the different stages of the surgical process.
Patient Data
Patient JC is a 63 year old male, he is Caucasian and is not Hispanic. He presented to the emergency
room on Monday April 4th after noticing pain, swelling, and a blue tint to his left fifth digit. He has a
history of hyperlipidemia, GERD, cardiac disorder, osteoarthritis, hematuria, prostate cancer
(resolved), and hammer syndrome. He has dentures and partial vision loss in both eyes. JC is a
construction worker. The patient s current problem with his left fifth digit is believed to come from his
history of hypothenar hammer syndrome. Hypothenar hammer syndrome is caused by repeated use of
the palm of the hand, such as when you use a hammer to push or grind objects. This can result in
damage of certain blood vessels in hand, especially the ulnar artery. This artery goes through the
hypothenar area of the palm and supplies blood to the fingers, damage to the ulnar

Roman Culture And Western Civilization
As the Romans held on to Greek culture so eagerly it quickly became the foundation of Roman
culture. Roman forms of architecture evolved mostly from reshaping Greek models, but clearly stands
apart from its ancestors. The Romans were quick to adopt new techniques in construction; new use of
materials, and new architectural structures. The Romans made innovations to fully fulfill the practical
needs for the society as a whole. Among these architectural changes basilicas, temples, amphitheaters,
bridges and aqueducts, and residential blocks can be found engrained in Roman culture as it positively
impacted the lives of Romans. These inventions were paid for, organized, and spread around by a state
which fully supported the Roman Empire. The Romans influence in monumental architecture as well
as many other aspects of Western life remains clearly visible today as it did back then. Western
civilization presently compromises Western Europe and North America and are believed to have
derived from the influence of cultures found in the Roman Empire. In this research essay, I will
discuss and contrast Roman culture to Western Civilization as well as emphasizing on the influences
provided by the Roman Empire that are still prominent today. First, What is architecture and why is it
crucial to the rise of the Roman Empire?Architecture is the art or practice of designing and building
structures (Webster). Without its architecture, Rome wouldn t have been such a huge influence across

Climate Change And Global Warming
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 General
Climate change and global warming has been warned to no longer be viewed lightly. These changes
are considered to be one of the biggest threats that being faced by nature and humanity today.
According to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), climate
change can be defined as the changes of climate which is attributed either directly or indirectly
towards human activities which also able to change the composition of the global atmosphere. As an
addition to this matter, the natural climate changes seemed to change over comparable period of time.
Generally, Malaysia might be one of the lucky countries that do not experience extensive damages due
to extreme climate changes. However, mild climate related disasters are quite frequent to happen
lately. These refer to occurrence of landslides due to excessive rainfall and strong winds happened at
the hilly and the latter, at the coastal areas causing severe damage (MET, 2010).
Environmentally, climate change in Malaysia means increase in total heavy rain falls, rising mean sea
level and possibly extreme weather. Extreme weather can be fierce and destructive. According to the
fifth Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, if greenhouse gas emissions are
reduced significantly, the rise in global temperature will be about 2º C towards the end of century.
However, if no action should be taken due to this matter, the temperature might increase up

America Must Be A Civil War Against Our Democratic Government
Yglesia is illustrating that America will crumble down at some point. With all the social, and political
issues facing our society, I agree with his statement. I believe that there would be a civil war against
our democratic government. The government members take advantage of their power in some
situations. Some concepts should be altered. Most people are starting to notice the unfairness and
somewhat corrupt actions government takes. The process as to vote for laws or presidents in this
country and others are not the most thoughtful and reasonable procedures. For example, if deadlocks
were removed from our democracy, it would be a better system. My two examples on this subject are
the immigration law by Obama and the Honduran President Zelaya trying to alter the constitution.
Gridlocks are illustrated in the article as a cause on why the democratic government is unfair.
Gridlocks is a an argument or proposed law ending in no decision. Gridlocking happens constantly in
our government. An example given was the immigration law, which was not passed. Obama wanted to
grant illegal immigrants access to programs in which they can become legalized, if they had been in
U.S over a period of time and have children that are citizen or permanent resident. This action was
taken to minimize deportation of parents and families. This law was not passed. President Obama
blamed the 4 4 court deadlock on Congressional inaction. The reason that people are deported is to

1. The way that we can see God s call to mission in this chapter is the way that Moses gives us his
four objections. Now the first of these four objections is when Moses asked,
Who am I that should go...? (Ex. 3:11)
To this question God answers by saying,
I will be with you (v. 12)
The mission was God s, and he would be with those who carried it, also implying that the mission was
greater than the missionary. The second objection was when Mose s asks
Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and ask
me, What is his name? Then what shall I tell them? (v.13)
All god did to reply to this question was to say I am who I am (v.14) and that was the name ... Show

It is my personal beliefs that these last two kinds of motives are of no use in determining whether one
should become a missionary or not. They are simply irrelevant to ones personal choice; the primary
motives are what makes the person choose the path that God has provided for them. I belief that God
is the only person that can choose the destiny of our lives and that is why these last motives are of no
use.
3. The cycle of missionary service can be divided into seven stages: commitment to go to the mission
field, general training, field selection, focused training, initial adjustment, long term missionary
service, and reentry to the home culture. In the first step, the missionary is often questioned by peers,
family and co workers about the need to go as far as they do. This can be a difficult and awkward as
people who are close do not understand that it is a difficult thing to go through. General training is the
next step; it is in this step that people study classes that give the basic foundations for their chosen
work that as well as written courses that help them have a better understanding of the bible. The third
step is the field selection. It is in this step that the place of missionary work is to be chosen or found,
this can be a difficult time for the student as there are so many places to choose from in the world. The
fourth step focuses on training. Formal and

Compare And Contrast Vladimir And Thomas Aquinas
In the Middle Ages, or the Medieval Period, religion had a very influential role in government,
economic activity, and the life of the people. When examining the achievements and expertise of
Thomas Aquinas and Prince Vladimir, also known as Vladimir the Great or Vladimir I, many
comparisons can be made. Their achievements are similar in that they both helped to spread a
particular sect of Christianity and that they both had to struggle in order to become well known. Their
expertise is different in that Thomas Aquinas studied religion for many years before choosing one

Differences Between Animal Farm And The Truman Show
Living a good life and trying to pursue the unattainable utopian society takes power, but not everyone
has the power to make these things reality. The good life and the utopian society will stay elusive
unless one has the ambition to want to thrive and fight for power and control over their own life. The
Truman Show, directed by Peter Weir, conveys the idea that everyone has a different perspective as to
what the good life and utopia is so, in order to obtain it, Truman must fight for the power and freedom
to control his own life. Likewise, in Animal Farm, George Orwell explores how the animals believe
that to be able to obtain the unreachable utopian society and good life they must first have power and
control over their own lives. To do so they must get rid of Mr Jones, but they soon grow to realise that
even once you have power and control, too much power can easily be abused.
A good life is a term for the life that one would like to live. It s a life in which one has the freedom to
self direct their own life. Truman has the perfect wife, the perfect house, perfect job and perfect
friends but does that really matter if he doesn t have freedom? In The Truman Show, Weir expresses
that without freedom the good life is unattainable, one can never truly be happy and content with their
life unless they have freedom. We see this most clearly when Truman is so determined to Thrive in life
and escape from the dome that the good life Christof has endowed for him doesn t matter.

During 1953 1957 the United State was busily making collective security arrangements in an attempt
to recruit Allies for her confrontation with the communist camp. In south east Asia the United State
sponsor and encouraged the formation of SEATO (The South East Asian Treaty Organization) and
CENTO (The Central Treaty Organization).
The arrangement was originally viewed by the United States Thailand as underpinning the inherently
with Geneva agreement which recognized the communist ruled North Vietnam. CENTO also began as
a regional security grouping at the behest of Iraq and Britain, but the participation of those northern
states of Asia sharing frontiers with the Soviet Union such as Iran, Turkey, Pakistan and the

weapon against her Global adversary, Soviet Union.
The birth of Bangladesh the first state to be born in blood and fire in a polycentric world has been a

Understanding the Infrastructure Industry and How it is...
The main objective behind this study of is to understand how the Infrastructure industry functions and
how infrastructure is essential for the growth of any nation. The factors which necessitated a study to
be conducted as to how the industry functions and how the said firms are conducting their businesses
in this largely unorganized sector are as follows  To demonstrate two of the dominating players of
this industry and their rivals.  To find existing competition in this industry around the world. 
Comparison between the companies regarding their market share, acceptability and popularity.  To
find consumer perception towards these companies from various companies available to them.  To
write a well presented paper by being focused, consistent and original thus providing enough evidence
to make our argument or theory convincing 3.2 Limitations The research was entirely carried out with
the sources of secondary data. Some of the data may be unreliable due to passage of time and
therefore making the results defective. Accuracy of the data is not assured. Since the data is secondary
in nature, it may be vague in nature and therefore may not be of much help in decision making. The
companies publishing the data may be biased in their approach and hence unreliable. Lack of prior
research studies on the topic citing prior research studies forms the basis of your literature review and
helps lay a foundation for understanding the research problem

Cormac Mccarthy Biography
Cormac McCarthy Biography Cormac McCarthy, known to be a great novelist and playwright was
born in Providence, Rhode Island on July 20, 1933 ( McCarthy, Cormac 1933 ). He was the third
child, and eldest son of six children born to Charles Joseph and Gladys Christina McGrail McCarthy
(Cormac McCarthy). He was widely viewed as a presiding genius of American literature and was said
to carry an electric charge like no other (Hage, Erik 5). McCarthy is often described as a kindly older
man who gave no hints to his imagination that had created classic works like those of Hemingway and
Faulkner (Hage, Erik 3). He avoided public appearances, and remained absorbed in his writing not in
the construction of his writing persona, therefore, making him a very humble man (Hage, Erik 5).
Furthermore, he renamed himself Cormac ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During his voyage, he met an English woman who would later on become his second wife named
Anne DeLisle, who was a ballet dancer and singer on the same ship he was aboard (Hage, Erik 9).
They traveled around Europe and later on into their relationship, McCarthy and DeLisle settled in for
some time on the island of Iziba, about 80 kilometers off the coast of Spain (Hage, Erik 9). In 1967
however, they moved back to the writer s native Tennessee where they lived near his hometown
Knoxville on a pig farm and later on on a dairy barn that McCarthy had reconstructed himself (Hage,
Erik 9). According to his wife, they lived in virtual property thus demonstrating that they did not have
much to begin with (Hage, Erik 9). In 1967, he separated from DeLisle, leaving Tennessee and
moving to El Paso, Texas (Hage, Erik 9) and by the year 1978, they had divorced officially, however,
they remained friends with one another (Hage, Erik

The Mother By May Herschel-Clarke Essay
2015 marks the 100th anniversary of Gallipoli where ANZAC Legends such as Simpson and his
donkey were born. These stories shed light on war but left the heart break of mothers and death of
millions of soldiers in the dark. During World War 1 (WW1) about 42 million men in the Allied
countries heeded the call of their country to show their patriotism and courage. After the long, harsh
war the death of 5 million soldiers left families around the world without a son. WW1, the war to end
all wars as said by Woodrow Wilson an American president, clearly didn t end the suffering instead
started more which can still be seen in the 21 century with wars in Iraq and against the ISIS terror
group. People could not experience the reality of war first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Mother is an allusion to The Soldier , which glorifies war and the death of soldiers. The Mother is
the complete opposite, imparting the horrible realities of war, creating a very melancholy and sombre
tone. The poem starts with similar word choices as The Soldier but written in the perspective of the
mother. The mother tells his son that when he dies he will be in a place of quietness and free from the
loss and bloodshed . This reinforces the fact that the battlefield was full of horrors and death. The
poem then moves onto how men may rest themselves and dream of nought explaining that the soldiers
do not have to fear for their lives after their death. This illustrates how they feared for their lives and
had negative connotations. Through the use of poetic devices such as metonymy and alliteration, poets
are able to emphasise key ideas. Clarke talks about draining a bitter cup , a metonymy for poison
which she drinks because of the miserable thought of her son dying. Clarke infers that idealism of war
and patriotism is naïve, and does not take into account the pain and suffering endured by their loving

Vince Lombardi s Super Bowl
Vince Lombardi, the iconic coach of the Green Bay Packers, is widely regarded as one of the greatest
football leaders of all time. While his winning record may be attributed to many factors, most credit
him with the ability to motivate an entire group of individual players to accomplish remarkable
achievements when united as a team. Coach Lombardi insisted that, Individual commitment to a group
effort that s what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work. While it is
highly improbable that most kids will ever experience the thrill of winning a Super Bowl, the positive
effects of engaging in a team sport offer lifelong benefits which include converting losses into gains,
developing self discipline, and fostering strong relationships. ... Show more content on

Ideally, the celebrations of hard fought victories will outnumber the agonizing losses in large
quantities. However, the lessons learned from devastating defeats are often the most important tool in
the quest for success. As Bobby Jones suggested, losses, by their very nature, offer the most
compelling evidence that modifications and improvements are warranted. In other words, a loss
encourages the athlete to channel the disappointment into a positive progression of steps, thus
instigating a more favorable outcome in the future. The fact is that in both life and sports, defeat is
inevitable, and the skill to use the lessons learned in a loss to initiate the groundwork for future
success is a winning

They start when we turn the key and take us where we want to go. But how does an engine work? Internal combustion engines are a very important part of everyday life. We use them in our cars, trucks, airplanes. boats, snowmachines, 4 wheelers, and heavy machinery. These pages will help familiarize you with the basic concepts of how an engine works, an understanding of engine output, and some information on how forced induction or boost increases power output. Engine Basics A very common variant of the internal combustion engine is the four stroke engine. These engines have four strokes for each combustion cycle. These engines are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The chemical equation is as follows. 2 C8H18 (gas) + 25 O2 = 16 CO2 + 18H2O This equation is representative of a stoichiometric air fuel ratio (14.7:1). However under normal driving conditions an engine will encounter lean conditions when cruising on the highway (better milage) and rich conditions when accelerating (better power). The lean condition results in oxide and harmful nitrogen compound production. Rich conditions result in carbon monoxide production. For this reason a catalytic converter is used on most larger engines. The catalyst material in a cat is in a wire mesh or honeycomb. This allows a high surface area to be exposed to the passing exhaust gasses. The catalyst (typically platinum) converts the harmfull nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide into nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and oxygen. Catalytic converters work best when warm (as the reaction rate increases with temperature) so some car manufacturers are putting pre cats in the exhaust manifold to convert the gasses while the exhaust system is still warming up. That covers the basic function of an engine fron intake to exhaust. Next we will explore the relationship of Horsepower vs Torque. Engine output is measured in two ways. The first is a direct measurement of engine output: Torque. Torque is defined as the amount of mass that can be lifted a certain distance from the center of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Additionally, Stone and Hamann (2012) examine what, if any strategy existed at the fourth school that explained high achievement amongst all student groups. Implementation of Investigations garnered universally higher scores, however the impact on the achievement gap remained marginal (Stone Hamann, 2012). Consequently, Stone sought alternative agents of change, which had the potential to affect American Indian students math achievement. Stone and Hamann shifted their focus to observable differences in culture at each of the schools. The modification in the research focus led to the valuable insight that high expectations correlates with improved mathematics scores among all student groups. Although Mueller and Maher s (2010) study consists of the smallest cohort, the student participants most closely align with the participant group selected for this action research project. Mueller and Maher (2010) offer two vignettes, which provide a rich description of both teacher, and student actions, which led to successful problem solving in the study. The learner s role was to pair the first word with the correct term (Milgram, 1963). The learner would then press one of four switches attached to an electrical shock generator indicating his response. Unknown to the teacher, in all conditions the learner gives a predetermined set of responses to the word pair test, based on the schedule of approximately three wrong answers to one correct answer (Milgram, 1963). To authenticate the potential electrical intensity to the learner the teacher is sampled with a 45 volt shock to the wrist. The teacher is then instructed to administer an incrementally increasing punishing electrical shock for each incorrect answer. This follows several methods to inform the teacher of the potential impact of the electrical shock that they will administer. • 7. The Importance Of Being A Hero The most important and impactful part of being a hero is essentially doing heroic things. A heroic action, in this case, would be qualified as an act that benefits others more than yourself and is characterized as having a generally upstanding moral motive. In this respect, Dr. Manhattan would be the most successful hero because not only does he end a war, but he is also the reason that nuclear war was postponed for so long (Moore, Gibbons 130). Just having a godlike hero present that could stop nuclear conflict at any time was enough to keep countries from annihilating all humans. From this logic, Dr. Manhattan saved the most lives for the longest period of time therefore doing the most good. This outweighs his lack of empathy and compassion. Regardless of how he feels about people, he still believes they have the capability of doing good and he protects them. Similarly, Ozymandias also takes part in preventing nuclear war. However, he does this in what is essentially the most evil way: by killing millions (Moore, Gibbons 401). He thinks he is doing what is right, but he is responsible for upholding values rather than revolutionizing the world. Killing millions of innocent citizens, by most people s standards, immoral and unjust, and therefore Veidt is not acting entirely as a hero. Furthermore, it cannot be ignored that by making this sacrifice, Veidt saved more than he killed. When referring to villainous personalities, a common and determining factor is not valuing ... When they are grown up then they have the right to make their own decision about what they want to do. No one should have the right to tell someone not to do something that they want to do. • 11. Advantages Of CNC Machining I. INTRODUCTION C NC Machining is a process used in the manufacturing sector that involves the use of computers to control machine tools. Tools that can be controlled in this manner include lathes, mills, routers and grinders. The CNC in CNC Machining stands for Computer Numerical Control. On the surface, it may look like a normal PC controls the machines, but the computer s unique software and control console are what really sets the system apart for use in CNC machining. Under CNC Machining, machine tools function through numerical control. A computer program is customized for an object and the machines are programmed with CNC machining language (called G code) that essentially controls all features like feed rate, coordination, location ... This trial run is referred to as cutting air and it is an important step because any mistake with speed and tool position could result in a scraped part or a damaged machine. There are many advantages to using CNC Machining. The process is more precise than manual machining, and can be repeated in exactly the same manner over and over again. Because of the precision possible with CNC Machining, this process can produce complex shapes that would be almost impossible to achieve with manual machining. CNC Machining is used in the production of many complex three dimensional shapes. It is because of these qualities that CNC Machining is used in jobs that need a high level of precision or very repetitive tasks. Other than that, there has some problem that always occur in CNC machine such as electrical fault, parameter issues, door and safety interlocks and others. If you are considering a career in CNC Machining, it would be useful to have a background in mathematics, industrial arts and mechanical drafting, as well as computer usage. The kitchen walls were covered in red (You guessed it was sauce) and a boiling pot of water sat on the stove, with several boxes of empty boxes of pasta sitting dangerously close to the flame. • 14. Essay on Diomedes, the True Hero of Homer’s Iliad Diomedes, the True Hero of The Iliad In The Iliad, written in a 3rd person omniscient point of view, Homer gives a very serious account of the tenth and last year of the Trojan War. It was in Homer s account that the very idea of becoming a legendary hero reached its pinnacle; the choice of the better hero was not decided on the events they participated in, but rather by their characteristics. The ancient Greeks had strict criteria for individuals to follow if they were to be seen as heroes. Above all, a man needed to be a skilled warrior, but this was not the only requirement. To be a hero, a warrior had to respect authority, both governmental and religious. The Greeks gave heroes no room for pride. These men were to be modest, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this fight may have never happened if Athena had not disguised herself as one of Hector s brothers and convinced him to fight (260). That was not enough though, as Athena then helped Achilles win the fight (260 261). This seems to be the case with all of Achilles battles. A god, goddess, or gods help him in battle by strengthening and encouraging him and his men, or they rally a Trojan army into entering a futile final battle. Diomedes is also guilty of receiving help from the gods. After praying for Athena s aid, Diomedes proceeds to not only slay Pandaros (who wounded him earlier) and many other Trojans, but also wound Aeneas in his hip and his mother Aphrodite in her hand (60 64). Later on in the same battle, Diomedes thrusts his spear through the belly of Ares, also done with the help of Athena (73). Another example of Diomedes skill comes when he and Odysseus spy on the Trojan camp. Diomedes goes ahead of Odysseus and strikes down so many Trojans that the ground was reddened with blood (124). Even before this, Diomedes prayed again to Athena for help. It seems no Greek warrior could fight their own battles; instead, they requested help from the gods. This fact makes it difficult to discern the better fighter between Achilles and Diomedes, but the common choice would probably be Achilles because of his legendary status and he was the son of an immortal. ... From a knight to a cook, the pilgrims in the work each have their own story as well as a purpose with their stories even though that purpose is difficult to find at first. Jill Mann contends, Undoubtedly it is true that Chaucer not only persuades us that fools and rascals can be very charming people, but is at the same time taking care to make us suspect that they are fools and rascals (Chaucer and Medieval Estates Satire 192). The charm of these fools and rascals are amusing at first, but readers must also remember that these characters are still not exempt from their faults and flaws. Mann s observation pertaining to Chaucer s pilgrims and their corresponding tales applies most accurately to the Pardoner, the Miller, and the Wife of Bath. The Pardoner lives in such a state of contradiction that readers can find humor in it. While he centers his preachings on the Latin phrase Radix malorum est cupiditas or Avarice is the root of evil, the Pardoner craves money and riches most of all (Chaucer 312). His hypocrisy is so ridiculous that the Pardoner becomes a caricature of a corrupted churchman, selling fake holy relics to fund his sinful greed. Reading it, however, with a perfect contempt for it, one discovers in it, after all, a place for the genuine (Twentieth Cenutry 231). The time of the imagists was a time of change. Sometimes that change was and other times it wasn t so good. They fought for freedom, refering to African Americans and the fight for civil rights. They changed the rules on how to write. They even made such a lasting impression that the way of writing continued past the time period and changed into a style of writing to last the years. Although it was said to be created by one man, the idea actually came from another who had brought the idea up before its time. It eventually reversed the fact that it came about before it was ready and ended up lasting long after the era was declared over. Since the literature was changing so was the mind set and it was directly related. This is where the American Dream comes into play. The American Dream during the time of the Imagist Movement could be represented by the way of life in that the people of the time were changing, not only in their writing, but with how they were living in that they would fight for equality or be more focused on what was real, and that sense of changing was solidified in the American Dream. Roman forms of architecture evolved mostly from reshaping Greek models, but clearly stands apart from its ancestors. The Romans were quick to adopt new techniques in construction; new use of materials, and new architectural structures. The Romans made innovations to fully fulfill the practical needs for the society as a whole. Among these architectural changes basilicas, temples, amphitheaters, bridges and aqueducts, and residential blocks can be found engrained in Roman culture as it positively impacted the lives of Romans. These inventions were paid for, organized, and spread around by a state which fully supported the Roman Empire. Over the years, fairytales have been cleaned up for young ears we have become accustomed to the bland Disney versions of tales. How many of us can recount a version separate from the animated classics of our childhood? It is truly hard to believe that sometimes there are much more racy versions of these same tales. Suddenly, a clamor among the bushed produced a fully clothed and very handsome young man holding a very large rifle. They walked along the worn path for some time together laughing like old friends. It was only a mere half mile to go till the warmth and safety of her grandmother s house when the dashing young stranger proposed a bet. He insisted that with the help of a compass, he would surely make it to the grandmother s house before she would on the path. A game was made of it, and if he won, he was to have a kiss. At the mention of the kiss, Little Red lowered her eyes and blushed, commonplace of rustic seduction. With all the social, and political issues facing our society, I agree with his statement. I believe that there would be a civil war against our democratic government. The government members take advantage of their power in some situations. Some concepts should be altered. Most people are starting to notice the unfairness and somewhat corrupt actions government takes. The process as to vote for laws or presidents in this country and others are not the most thoughtful and reasonable procedures. For example, if deadlocks were removed from our democracy, it would be a better system. My two examples on this subject are the immigration law by Obama and the Honduran President Zelaya trying to alter the constitution. Gridlocks are illustrated in the article as a cause on why the democratic government is unfair. Gridlocks is a an argument or proposed law ending in no decision. Gridlocking happens constantly in our government. An example given was the immigration law, which was not passed. Obama wanted to grant illegal immigrants access to programs in which they can become legalized, if they had been in U.S over a period of time and have children that are citizen or permanent resident. This action was taken to minimize deportation of parents and families. This law was not passed. President Obama blamed the 4 4 court deadlock on Congressional inaction. Now the first of these four objections is when Moses asked, Who am I that should go...? (Ex. 3:11) To this question God answers by saying, I will be with you (v. 12) The mission was God s, and he would be with those who carried it, also implying that the mission was greater than the missionary. The second objection was when Mose s asks Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and ask me, What is his name? Then what shall I tell them? It is my personal beliefs that these last two kinds of motives are of no use in determining whether one should become a missionary or not. They are simply irrelevant to ones personal choice; the primary motives are what makes the person choose the path that God has provided for them. I belief that God is the only person that can choose the destiny of our lives and that is why these last motives are of no use. 3. The cycle of missionary service can be divided into seven stages: commitment to go to the mission field, general training, field selection, focused training, initial adjustment, long term missionary service, and reentry to the home culture. In the first step, the missionary is often questioned by peers, family and co workers about the need to go as far as they do. This can be a difficult and awkward as people who are close do not understand that it is a difficult thing to go through. General training is the next step; it is in this step that people study classes that give the basic foundations for their chosen work that as well as written courses that help them have a better understanding of the bible. The third step is the field selection. It is in this step that the place of missionary work is to be chosen or found, this can be a difficult time for the student as there are so many places to choose from in the world. Differences Between Animal Farm And The Truman Show Living a good life and trying to pursue the unattainable utopian society takes power, but not everyone has the power to make these things reality. The good life and the utopian society will stay elusive unless one has the ambition to want to thrive and fight for power and control over their own life. The Truman Show, directed by Peter Weir, conveys the idea that everyone has a different perspective as to what the good life and utopia is so, in order to obtain it, Truman must fight for the power and freedom to control his own life. Likewise, in Animal Farm, George Orwell explores how the animals believe that to be able to obtain the unreachable utopian society and good life they must first have power and control over their own lives. To do so they must get rid of Mr Jones, but they soon grow to realise that even once you have power and control, too much power can easily be abused. A good life is a term for the life that one would like to live. It s a life in which one has the freedom to self direct their own life. Truman has the perfect wife, the perfect house, perfect job and perfect friends but does that really matter if he doesn t have freedom? In The Truman Show, Weir expresses that without freedom the good life is unattainable, one can never truly be happy and content with their life unless they have freedom. We see this most clearly when Truman is so determined to Thrive in life and escape from the dome that the good life Christof has endowed for him doesn t matter. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The mother tells his son that when he dies he will be in a place of quietness and free from the loss and bloodshed . This reinforces the fact that the battlefield was full of horrors and death. The poem then moves onto how men may rest themselves and dream of nought explaining that the soldiers do not have to fear for their lives after their death. This illustrates how they feared for their lives and had negative connotations. Through the use of poetic devices such as metonymy and alliteration, poets are able to emphasise key ideas.
