Comparing Wollstonecraft s Pride And Prejudice
The novel Pride and Prejudice was set during the late 1700 s and the early 1800 s. Jane Austen
wrote the novel based on the events that occurred around her. Historical conflicts during the
construction of the novel are present in the novel itself. While writing Pride and Prejudice, Jane
Austen was influenced by the war with France, the landed gentry, and marriage and gender roles
in her society which caused the plot, characters, and the outcome of the book. The war with
France stretched over twenty two years, and it affected every level of British society. A quarter of
a million men were serving in the regular army, a militia of officers and volunteers in the southeast
coast of England (where Jane was from) were convinced that it was an... Show more content on

In her writing, Wollstonecraft argues that women should be treated with the same equals as men.
This was a conflicting transformation in women s roles that occurred within the century. Elizabeth
Bennet can be considered as an example and a supporter of the writing. Disinherited of her father s
property, Elizabeth is not financially independent, and depends upon advantageous marriage for her
future survival. Although throughout the novel she asserts her independence that reflects some of
Wollstonecraft s opinions and beliefs. An example would be when she rejected to be married
with Mr. Collins even though she was in need of the financial support, as he was the one who
was to inherit the family estate. However Miss Elizabeth Bennet s friend did the exact opposite
and married Mr. Collins because she was already a burden to her parents and was afraid that she
would never be asked to marry again. Elizabeth also stood up to Mr. Darcy when he was making
remarks about the country even though he was at a much higher social status than she was, and she
was reminded of that by her

Deforestation of Our Rainforests
The most destructive and harmful tragedy that our rainforests, specifically the Amazon, suffer from
is deforestation. Deforestation is the clearing or destruction of land throughout forests.
Unfortunately, human beings are the number one cause of deforestation throughout the world.
The reason if this is simply because we use the wood mainly for things like hydroelectric dams
that power communities, palm oil for its biofuel resourcefulness, and the mining for diamond and
gold. Another reason would be intentional fires that are used to destroy acres of forest in a quick
amount of time for things like construction. Using fires to clear out land quickly is used because
taking the time to clear out the land for what will be built would be slower using any other process.
The wood can be useful but little do they know that deforestationis extremely harmful to the
environment. Deforestation has many effects on the environment. First of all trees make oxygenand
oxygen is a necessity for human life Trees exchange carbon dioxide(Green house gas) and turns it
into oxygen which again we need to survive, if the carbon dioxide isn t changed fast enough then
green house gases build up and the earth heats up carding to the cycle of Global Warming . Not
only that but destroying trees destroys countless ecosystems and organisms that are a part of nature,
and changing ecosystems and habitats can affect many animals. Destroying the trees will cause a
habitat change that will disrupt the

The 4th Amendment In The Fourth Amendment
All counter terrorism efforts potentially violate the 4th Amendment because First of all, I think that
they violate the 4th amendment science It is proved that they kind of disrespect the privacy of
others by making certain agreements with other people to get information from anywhere that
people didn t know that they were getting. Another reason that can prove that they violated the 4th
Amendment is that before this program called PRISM came out the government would go and ask
for permission to get any type of information but after this program came out It turned out that
everything was a secret. Also basically everything about getting people s information was a secret
until one day a man called Edward Snowden came out with this point of privacy and he had to end
up leaving the country and hiding because the government disagreed with his opinions for a reason.
This letter will attempt to the 4th Amendment by proving how all counter terrorism efforts
potentially violated privacy. First of all, I think that they violate the 4th amendment science It is
proved that they kind of disrespect the privacy of others by making certain agreements with other
people to get information from anywhere that people didn t know that they were getting. As it says

Danaher Case Study
Introduction
This case study is conducted to understand how information systems can help Danaher work leaner.
Organizations now have to use technology to transform their business. Since the creation of the

approaches to the business. The more businesses advertise on social media like Facebook, Twitter

Although the firm has been working on maximum efficiency, Tom Mathis has come up with a
better solution to solve the problem. He plans to cut costs by purchasing supplies from overseas
sellers. Mr. Mathis knew that this strategy would have increased the cost and time of delivery. The
factory buyers should also take the time to investigate any potential new vendors. So he is using
information technology to implement the program and to improve the process of inventory
restocking. (Larenernest, 2010) However, workers have been so accustomed to the Kanban system
that it is difficult for them to change the system, so there is a high resistance to change among the
business. In addition, it is well known that Microsoft managed to reduce inventory levels and
increase production rates without significant investment in information technology. They settled
with the traditional method of trying to adopt new methods and many operating firms were
deliberately separated from the technology because the first thing the experts tell Kanban factory to
do is to disconnect the Material Requirements Planning System (MRP). MRP is a system used to
manage manufacturing processes in terms of production planning, scheduling, and inventory
control. This causes another problem for Mr. Mathis since the firm does not have the internal
resources needed to support the system that he wants to employ. (Carr, 2005)

Socrates Views On Socrates
To question what no man has questioned before, that is what we praise Socrates for. Socrates
Philosophies grew out of his questioning of the social norm. Using this technique, he seems to
always focus on three main aspects: justice, virtue, and morality. Socrates claims that he has no
wisdom. He states, I know I have no wisdom, great or small. The world has an infinite number of
possibilities and anything he declares understanding, is extremely minimal compared to the
possibilities that exist in the world, there is so much out there that hasn t been exposed yet.
Socrates had many thoughts and ideas over things people never even took time to think about. He
thought differently and always more intensely than others. Socrates says that knowledge is essential
to a person. He concluded that a person s evil and wrong actions come from their ignorance and
their failure to investigate. He was also convinced that no one knowingly does wrong, if a person
does not know what is right, then that person will do wrong, but in the other hand, if the person
knows what is right, they will most definitely do right. He once mentioned that the unexamined life
is not worth living introducing the idea of Universal Definitions, meaning although individual
things may vary and be constructed differently the definitions of how they are similar, are
permanent. The most important thing about Socrates was the fact that he was a teacher. He taught
anywhere and everywhere, he even went up to people,

Why Do Flowers For Algernon Not Have Surgery
The Fine Print Imagine being three times smarter than you already are through a simple,
painless surgery, but there s a catch. The effects of the surgery that can make you a genius could
be temporary, and have not been studied and may be dangerous. Flowers for Algernon, a short
story, describes a character who is intellectually disabled. He has to make a choice between
having doctors conduct an experiment that involves surgery on him to make him three times
smarter or staying the way he is. Charlie Gordon should not have the surgery because it is highly
experimental and theoretical, as well as the negative social effects. Charlie Gordon should not
have surgery due to the experimental nature of the surgery as its effects have not been fully
analyzed. For example, Doctor Strauss and Doctor Nemur told Charlie that there is a possibility
that the experiment could fail and that the outcome could be returning to his original mental
status. Gordon remains indifferent to the statement and says, They said you know it will probly
tempirery. I said yes. Miss Kinnian told me. I dont care if it herts (112). Charlie s positive outlook
on life and lack of reasoning leads him to make the decision to have the surgery performed on him.
He is desperate to become smart and fit in with the rest of society.Additionally, Algernon s testing

America s Orchestras Are In Crisis Analysis
In the article America s Orchestras are in Crisis , Kennicot underlines the fact that the American
orchestras have been undergoing a rough patch in the recent times. He uses the example of the
Schermerhorn Symphony Center, which in spite of the massive investment that was made its
creation, it has been accumulating debts and having a bleak future. This is also the case for
Nashville Symphony, which has been accumulating deficits to the tune of $10 to $20 million per
year. This shows an extremely bleak picture as far as the future of symphony orchestrais concerned.
Indeed, similar sentiments are expressed by Jennie Dorris in The Audition , where she gives the
story of Tetreault, a Colorado based percussionist who has put in 100 hour weeks... Show more

This statement is pointing at the increased disconnect between the likes and preferences of the
youth population or rather the younger entrepreneurs and the ideas that are increasingly propagated
by the orchestra players. It should be noted that a large number of individual donors and
institutional funders are questioning the continued investment in orchestras, yet the musicians
continue to build their hopes on the efficiency of renewed fundraising efforts without considering
the change or dynamic nature of the feelings of younger generations regarding this type of music. In
essence, the orchestra musicians simply want to ignore their current need for gratification and
instead pay attention to ideas that are alien to them. This should point to what is already wrong
with the orchestra world of music. Of course, there are people who are attracted to it simply
because it sets them apart from the masses who would not feel at ease paying excessively for a
type of music that does not offer gratification to their immediate needs. However, a vast majority
would only feel comfortable paying for music that appeals to their souls. Essentially, it should be
clear that the financial problems that are attributable to the

Main Stakeholders Of The Ginsters Company
1.0 Introduction
In this assignment I will be discussing the main topic stakeholder theory, what it means to a
company and how it relates to the Ginsters Company. I will also be writing about the main
stakeholders in the Ginsters Company and carrying out an analysis on the company s main
stakeholders and how the company approaches the corporate social responsibility.
2.0 Stakeholder Theory
John Kew and John Stredwick mention that Jonhson et all 2011 defines a stakeholder as those
individuals or groups who depend on the organisation to fulfil their own goals and on who in turn
the organisation depends.
An organisation has external stakeholders and internal stakeholders. External stakeholders are
individuals or groups outside the business who are linked to the organisation in some way but not
directly these can be customers, shareholders, society, suppliers and the government. On the other
hand are Internal Stakeholders, these stakeholders are individuals or groups who work directly
inside the business. These are the employees, managers and owners of the company.
Stakeholder theory looks at the relationships between an organization and others in its internal and
external environment. It also looks at how these relationships affect how the organization conducts
its activities. You can think of a stakeholder as a person or organization that can affect or be
affected by your organization. Stakeholders can come from inside or outside of the

Juvenile Justice System And Adult Justice Systems
In this paper, I will be discussing both the juvenile and the adult justice systems. There are several
differences between the two systems, which may surprise you. I will be discussing many aspects
within the justice systems. These include Terminology, Due Process rights, the process of Arrest to
Corrections, Juvenile crimecompared to Adult crime, age limits and waivers for the adult system
and the different community correctional options, which are available to the offenders. The two
systems share many of the same terms but not all terms are shared by both systems. In summary,
the juvenile justice system and the adult justice system, vary in many ways and are alike in many
ways. Juvenile Justice and Adult Justice
When it comes to how each state handles the judicial system in their jurisdiction, it varies from state
to state. All states construct their own juvenile judicial system and create their own laws. There are
different beliefs in each state about what will distinguish differences in the juvenile and adult
justice systems. In most jurisdictions, juveniles are considered delinquent and not guilty. ( State
Juvenile Justice Profiles )
Arrests:
In the area of making arrests, law enforcement officers will detain a juvenile in order to provide
protection for them as well as for the community. This is called preventative detention. Not all states
afford juveniles the right to a jury trial. Defendants have the right to apply for bond or bail. All
defendants have a

Theme Of Atomic Bride
Atomic Bride , through its use of anaphora and combined repetition, morphs from an innocent
poem about a cross dresser to a bitter attack on societal ideals. Thomas Sayers Ellis utilizes three
distinct repetitive elements the use of the word drag , the grammatical statement A good ... starts in
the ... and works its way ... , and the anaphoraThe world loves a ... to express this change. The
definition of drag shifts as the poem transitions between themes. In the line, Andre s cross
/ dressing, what / A drag (7 9), drag refers to the custom of male transvestism. In the next repetition
of this line, drag morphs from male cross dressingto a bummer , as in Andre s tying / The knot,
what / A drag (19 21). The definition does not stay static for long; The next repetition of this line,
One freak of the week / Per night, what / A drag (34 36) changes it from a bummer to an annoyance
or a burden to progress , as in a dragging weight .... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The line reflects ideas of innocence and a heteronormative ideal by using the word bride which
is ironic, as Andre does not fulfill this image. The next line focuses more on Andre s role as

(25 27). This anaphora bolsters the societal criticism of the poem by allowing for deconstruction
of ideals that the world supposedly loves. An example of this is the line: All / The world loves / A
nuclear family, / Something about / A suburban home, / Chaos in order (37 42), which implies that
the suburban family ideal is oxymoronic in

Use Of Anthropomorphism In Greek Mythology
I.Biography Greek mythology had an extensive use of anthropomorphism (anthro.) and mythical
creatures that were considered symbolic. Such as the three headed dog, who has been believed
to be the guardian of the realm of death, or hades, Cerberus. It was said that he would prevent
those who crossed The River of Death (Styx). The River of Death or Styx was supposed to be the
boundary between Earth and the Underworld; it was so long that the Underworld was encircled
nine times. Cerberus parents were half women half serpent, Echidna, and the fire breathing giant,
Typhoon. He had a two headed hell hound brother, Orthrus, and was said to be the siblings of the

A Brief Note On Norwegian Black Metal

MUS211 Final Paper
Norwegian Black Metal
The Oxford dictionary s definition of Black Metal is a subset of heavy metal music having lyrics
that deal with Satanism and the supernatural . Fans of black metal, or any other music that deals
with the occult, are usually considered outcasts, and some would find it difficult to regard this
genre of music, as Popular , but the growing number of fanatics all over the world, mainly in the
Scandinavian countries, would refute that.
The image in the cover page, is a picture of the three founding members of Mayhem, Per Dead
Ohlin, Oystein Euronymous Aarseth and Jan Helhammer Blomberg. Widely considered as the
pioneers of Norwegian Black Metal, Mayhem will be a focal point of the following paper. The
three founding members are usually regarded as the forefathers of Black Metal. From this image,
several important aspects of Black Metal spring to mind immediately, the leather outfits, spike
and bullet accessories and face paint (also called Corpse Paint ) make up a big portion of what
defines a Black Metal artist or fan.
History and Influences of Norwegian Black Metal In order to delve into the basic intricacies of
Black Metal, we must first consider the history surrounding Black Metal. Why is it that artists and
fans alike of this genre, feel so strongly against Religion, Christianity in particular? Thinking back
almost 1000 years, to the 9th Century, Vikings ruled the Scandinavian countries,

MDMA Assistant Psychotherapy
Summary This article was about the pilot study on the use of methylenedioxymethamphetamine
(MDMA) assistant psychotherapy to treatment post traumatic distress disorder (PTSD). The
United States from 1970 1985 and Switzerland from 1988 1993 had used MDMA legally as a
prescription drug to enhance psychotherapy and early results suggest that they were helpful in
trauma related disorders (Oehen, Traber, Widmer, Schnyder, 2013). MDMA

was conducted with participants from the German speaking parts of Switzerland, as the United
States had classified it illegal since 1985. The study was meant to provide a safe environment for
the use of the psychedelic drug within a treatment setting. As an MDMA induced state elicits

1960-1980 Essay
In 1957 there was a volcanic eruption off the Azorean island of Faial and a series of earthquakes
that displaced many families from their homes. The U.S. Azorean Relief Act in the summer of
1958 allowed for the entry of 4,811 Portuguese (p.3). Pap (1996), for example, estimates that half of
the Azorean populationin 1965 had personal or family ties in the US. The establishment of
Portuguese speaking communities before 1921 thus encouraged, enabled, and channeled post 1957
migration. The peak years for Portuguese migration to the US were thus 1967 1970, when
immigrants averaged over 13,000 per year (Bailey, 2000).
The Azorean population reached a peak of 330,000 in 1960, but by 1974 had shrunk to 259,000
(Chapin, 1989). Several factors contributed to the large scale emigration from the Azores but the
principal reason was poverty. The Azores were undeveloped in part due to their geographic isolation
from continental Portugal, with an approximate distance of 1000 miles of ocean separating the two
regions. Under the regime of AntГіnio de Oliveira Salazar, Europe s longest fascist dictatorship
1926 1974, power was highly centralized in Lisbon. Even Azorean imports and exports had to pass

From 1960 until the mid 1980s, between 1,500 and 2,300 Brazilian immigrants arrived in the

internal auditing is to assist all members of management in the effective discharge of their
functioning, by endorsing them with objective analysis, appraisals, recommendations and pertinent

There some other tools may provide better anonymity than Tor. Since Tor runs on your computer
this makes your system vulnerable. Using a proxy server will make your Internet access work
more efficiently. It will work like a barrier between you and outside world. You can also use
proxy server almost with chat applications. This provides better security than Tor. A proxy is a

it can see everything you re doing, unless you use SSL connections. So you need to trust it. Since

Kid Licks Poem Analysis
Hi friends, I recently ran across a new organic edible polish. Kid Licks. When I was a kid, I bit
my nails. Religiously! It didn t occurr to me how unsanitary it was, or how ugly it made my
nails. I was a little kid and didn t care...yet. Can you imagine what I would have done with edible

concept that allows littlies to paint their own nails safely. The polishes are organic and safe to
consume. The line consists of only three colors, but they re working on expanding their
collection. The colors are Barley Grass Green, Beet Red, and Sour Carrot Orange. Since the
polishes are essentially food and preservative free, they have to be refrigerated and

Modern Times By Charlie Chaplin
Throughout this course so far we have learned of the struggles of man, from slavery and
reconstruction, war, to industrialization and the Great Depression. These were hard times in
America and frankly I m glad I do not have to live through it. From the film Modern Times by
Charlie Chaplin we get an inside look at how one felt and experienced during the 1930 s. I clearly
feel this movie captured the essence of what today people think about today of the 1930 s,
Industrialization and the Great Depression. It is at this time that the hard working class citizen is
highlighted. Let s begin with a brief summary of the film. The film follows a young man who is

The part where the government is taking them away and the screen flashes the saying The law
takes charge of the orphans . This flat out shows how the government feels they own a person
and what happens with them until the government sees fit. Which is also what happens today
with minors, it is understandable but nevertheless it is the government having full control over
what happens to an individual person. Which results in the eldest daughter running away before
they can take her away but ends up catching up to her in the end of the film. The economics is
absolutely terrible during the Great Depression. People are starving in the street every day. The
basic survival needs of life are stripped from many people such as, work, food, and shelter. In the
Chaplin film, the woman who Chaplin becomes companions with, story began as a thief,
stealing food to feeds her siblings and father as he no longer had work to be able to provide for
his family. We watch the scene as she is a crazy eyed savage type stealing bananas just to have
some food for the day. But children are not the only ones to steal to eat in this film. The part of
the movie in the department store examines the lengths of hostility men were willing to go to get

The Critique Of World Music
Introduction
Is it a bird...is it a plane...? This is too shay ... World Music ClichГ©?!
When dissecting music, we mainly tend to pay attention to its ethnicity, culture, whether or not its
indigenous, traditional or tribal. World music is flavoured by native music culture. Often native
music is considered sacred or used to dissolve egos and ignite their awareness of spiritual fire!
Ever listen to a piece of music and think, I ve heard this before?
Western civilisation has forgotten about centuries old reincarnations. Even in languages: The
English seem to forget about its Germanic Constructs.
We could consider World Music as a Pseudo musical term in marketing...
We complain about this matter because of its ability to relegate something for its exotic experience;
cute, weird but safe, exotica is beautiful but irrelevant. The subtle way within in reasserts the
hegemony of Western Pop Culture. The context of world music has become so analogous. The fact

Genetically Modified Food And Its Effects On The Consumer
In the year 2050, nearly 10 billion people will call Earth home. Food producers must increase
food production by 70% in order to feed the increasing population (Rangel, 2015, para. 20). A
solution to increase the production from farms across the globe is to genetically modify food.
Scientists can manipulate the genes of different crops to increase the crops size, quantity, shelf life
and even resistance to pests. In recent years, genetically modified foods have begun to show up in
grocery stores across the globe. Some consumers do not object to eating genetically modified food,
but others have started to question how genetically modified food could affect the consumer.
Rangel (2015) wrote that genetically modified objects are not new to society and should be
nothing to worry about. He stated that humans have altered the genetics of organisms for over
30,000 years through the process of selective breeding or artificial selection (para. 1). Selective
breeding may not be conducted in a lab like genetically modified objects (GMO) today, but it is
comparable to GMOs because through selective breeding, farmers choose the plants with the most
desirable traits and plant the seeds from those plants in order to have an enhanced crop the
following year. Even though studies have found pros and cons of genetically modified food,
researchers still need to conduct additional studies in order to better understand how genetically
modified food could possibly affect the health of humans. In

Logos In Thank You For Smoking

In the film Kinsey, directed by Bill Condon, Professor Alfred Kinsey uses science to explore and
inform the public on sex and during this era, sex was inappropriate to talk about.
On the other hand, In the movie Thank You for Smoking, directed by Jason Reitman, lobbyist
Nick Naylor defends and advocates the use of cigarettes in the country. Kinsey s argumentation
possesses logic and science, however Naylor possess more charisma, ethos, and an appeal to the
audience. Kinsey utilizes logos by having research and science justify his action and his life s
work on the sexual behaviors on men and women. However, Kinsey s research upsets private
matters at home and also rattles up the public. At home, Kinsey is manipulative towards his wife ...

Naylor s ethos is shown when he is in the conference with the senator. Naylor understands the
audience already knows that smoking is bad for oneself, so he pointed his finger to the real killer
in America, and the killer is Cholesterol or rather Virginia Cheese. Naylor understood that the
leading cause of death in America is heart disease or heart related problems. Naylor s stance on
this subject is that if you want a warning label on his cigarette, then the senator should have a
warning label that says cheese is a killer in America. Naylor shows that cheese is a killer,
however has a good connotation about itself. And right after, the senator asked, Will you give
your son his first cigarette? Naylors replied, if he wants a cigarette, I would happily buy him
one. Naylor is not an advocate for smoking; Naylor is an advocate for freedom of choice. Naylors
idea of smoking is that it s the duty of parents, teachers, and others to inform children to make
choices for themselves, not just because someone s mom says that smoking is bad for you. Naylor
shows in this instance of combining both logos and ethos of using science and the emotions of

Balance In The Oresteia
Through the three plays of The Oresteia, we are exposed to many opposing forces of power.
Elements such as darkness, light, fate, patriarchy, and justice are intertwined to make up
Aeschylus tragic tale, however all of these elements are directed by one central force: balance.
The word balance itself suggests a state of equilibrium or a stable environment. Balance is often
looked at as a scale; if one side of the scale is overpowering the other, then it creates a state of
disorder, irregularity, and even chaos. Aeschylus meddles with the scales of balance but, in the end,
reinforces the equipoise of power. I would argue that, not only does The Oresteiainclude balance as
a critical underlying theme and is strategically used in determining the outcome of the play, but
that the role of Athena is vital in creating this balance. In this play, there are many cases in which
the word balance can be substituted for the word justice. The final play, The Eumenides, is
significantly based on the idea of balance. Aeschylus puts it as justice waits and turns the scales
(line 61), meaning that justice is purposeful, and is one of the components that forces the balance
within the play. By analyzing the reference to the tipping of the scales, we can assume a reversal
of fortune and what is fated to happen. With the trial being the main plotline of the last play, it
reveals the scales tipping towards justice and leaves us with a sense of harmony. The two sides of
justice are seen

Banquet At Dunsinane
Banquet at Dunsinane
In Macbeth the scene of the banquet at Dunsinane shows the guilt of Macbeth, reveals to us the
extent of his madness and marks the suspicion of the Scottish lords. Macbeth shows the audience
the extent of his insanity, rouses suspicion from the Scottish lords and contributes to the
overarching theme of guilt. Macbeth s constant shouting at the apparition shows how far gone he
is. It marks his lack of self control in the face of his guilt, his fear of being discovered and refusal to
come to terms with what he has done. Likewise the lords see this outburst and are clued into
Macbeth s usurping of power by his blaming of others, he makes himself suspicious and tells them
of his murdering Banquo. Macbeth s quilt here develops a theme of guilt in the play
Macbeth shows the Scottish lords that he has bodies in his closet by the way he speaks making
reference to haunting spirits, trying to shift the blame of his actions onto others and by referencing
the murders he has made. In many religions the soul of a body lives on after death and continues
the life of the person, Macbeth possibly believing this in his fit of anger at the apparition infront of
him says ... Our monuments/ shall be the maw of Kites Shakespeare.III.iv.120 121. Kites meaning
vultures, scavenge for food by eating dead bodies. An unprotected corpse could be eaten by them
and thus the soul would die. Macbeth is haunted by the soul of Banquo, which he would have
reason to be haunted by.

Comparing Lamb To The Slaughter And A Jury Of The Peers
Underestimating a woman can get you killed. This point was proven by a woman in the story
Lamb to the slaughter by Roald Dahl, which describes how a woman got away with murder after
hitting her husband in the back of his head with a frozen piece of lamb, which instantly killed him.
Jury of the peers written by Susan Glaspell compares to the women in Lamb of the slaughter
because she too murdered her husbandand felt sexist enough to get away with it. Both women
within these stories were overlooked for the crimes they have completed because they felt like
their sneaky, devious ways can bypass investigators when being questioned. However, as with
every story, there are bound to be some differences mostly because no two stories share the same
exact plot, setting or conflict. Mrs. Mary Maloney, from the story Lamb to the slaughter and Mrs.
Minnie Wright from the story A jury of peers both appeared to be very dedicated housewives,
nonetheless, in both stories these women eventually killed their husbands because they were

Why Communication Is Necessary For Successful Management...
In the field of educational research, the need for a clear communication between the project
managers and its team members is fueled by the need to accurately measure the project status and to
be able to effectively control the deviations. A well designed communication strategy in this
complex research is mandatory to develop an effective communication.
This paper focuses on the use of internal communication for the particular case of the StartSmart K
3 Plus educational research project. To have a better understanding of the benefits and limitations of
internal communications from a project perspective, I will provide a description of the
communications recommended to be used for this project and the development and application of
the strategy selection.
2.Literature review
The communication process is very important throughout the project because it keeps informed the
ones involve in it, but also keeps in touch with those across the organization. Ironically, it is also
regarded as one of the most neglected part of corporate operations (Toney Powers, 1997 P.33)
There are many reasons why communication is necessary for the successful management of
changes in a project. These include ensuring an increased understanding of the project to eliminate
waste and to motivate those involved in the processes affected.
According to Hameri (1997): the larger the project, the more important the role of communication.
He argued and I agreed, that communication is not only important

Essay On Radiotherapy And Chemotherapy
Cancer can be defined as an uncontrollable division of cells in the body, and untreated cancer can
lead to serious illness, tumors and death. Cancer related to head and neck is the most difficult to
treat because it has a direct impact on the central nervous system. Radiotherapy is used to treat head
and neck cancer, and the treatment can be combined with chemotherapy. Radiotherapy or radiation
therapyuses radiation while chemotherapy is the treatment that uses chemical agents to destroy the
cancer cells. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy have been associated with effects like seizures,

When the demonic somnambulist Cesare creeps into Lil Dagover s bedchamber, director Robert
Wiene was exploiting a fear common to us all. Prone and sleeping the woman is uttlerly helpless.
She is carried off into the expressionist labyrinth that Wiene used to symbolize the darkest torments
of the human mind and soul. A beautiful woman is carried off by evil, a play on the
Beauty and the Beast themes that would become so popular in horror films.
Used expressionism, films that explored dream, nightmare and psyche and that found their
narrative shape determined less by action than emotion. Used angular sets and heavy shadows to
develop a macabre and horrific atmosphere for its tale of murder and madness. The Cabinet of Dr.
Caligari intentionally uses sets that look artificial. The deliberate distortions were meant to portray
what a tormented soul might perceive. German expressionism, known as dada, and surrealism
rejected notions of reality, the German expressionist movement, modern art was underway. Used
tilted sets, and twisted cardboard trees. Light and shadow were used to create a response, and get
the viewer emotionally connected. Two films imported from Germany named Passion and
Sumurun starring a popular actress named Pola Negri opened the door for other German imports.
The popularity of Negri and Caligari combined helped to create a small art house market. The

begins throwing things to feed the fire. Johnny then saw his mom lying on the ground, which
brought him to tears and an understanding of what was going on in the woods. The film ended with
the music that narrated the film playing and Johnny running away from his home.
The order of this film was not very typical, the audience would not have predicted the final events
of the movie. It went from people living their everyday lives to war, death and destruction. In less
than a day the director was able to convey the effect s of war and how it can change an individual
s life in a short amount of time. It took the main character about three hours to stumble upon the
civil war battle which is where the story s duration begins. It ends where the boy is followed into
the river by the soldiers and they all just

The Halo Effect
For our action research project, we studied the Halo effect and how the Halo effect decreasing with
age. Our hypothesis for this experiment was: As we age, the influence our first impressions of
someone have on our future impressions decreases.
The method of research we chose was; experiment.
Before we could conduct this experiment we wrote a story in which the protagonist and antagonists
roles were switched around. Meaning, that the perceived protagonist was actually the antagonist
and vise versa. After writing the story we came up with seven questions which corresponded with
the above story. These questions ranged from, who would you want your friend to be? , to what
did you learn from our experiment? . The purpose of these questions was ... Show more content on

We were surprised to see how well the grade 3 students paid attention to our story and cooperated
with us as we went through the questions. As for the grade 6 class, they cooperated with as as
best they could, with the exception of the lack of interest in the story, which was mentioned
previously. As far as our method of research goes, it worked out perfectly. If we had done any
other method it might not have worked out as well. For example, a survey would not have been
as accurate as we were aiming for. By doing an experimental project we were able to get the fairly
honest answers from the students. This is mainly because they did not know what we were
experimenting and thus could not alter their answer to meet our demands.
After our experiment was conducted we analysed the data. This data showed us that: 67% of the
grade 3 students continued to believe that tyrone was the protagonist, while only 21% of the
grade 6 students believed tyrone was the protagonist. This is a 46% difference between the
grades. Looking at this data we can see that as our age increases, our opinions of a person being
influenced by our first impression decreases. Or in other words, the Halo effect reduces. These
results can be seen in the following

Hinduism And The Sacred Scriptures
Hinduism is one of the oldest religion in the world, despite this, the group is not well organized
and it has no single system and approach which can be used to teach its values. They do not have a
set of rules which they can follow just like the Ten Commandments. On the other hand, the Hindus
believe in a supreme being who is the guider of the human beings and oversee the adherence of
concepts like dharma, karma, and truth. They also believe in the authority of the Vedas which is the
sacred scriptures, its interpretation may vary greatly. Important Vedic deities in Hindu The Hindus
have incorporated different pantheons of deities and some are the manifestation or the combination
of the others. Some of these deities mentioned in the Vedas... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The other use of the caste structure is that it defines the social rank of a person. This is because
it does not recognize the wealth, power and poverty level of an individual. This guides him to
pursue his obligations as it set all the people to be equal at birth. This makes an individual to
take all the other human being to be equal as they do not involve their social power and wealth
to judge others. The other use of the caste arrangement is that can provide mental safety to an
individual. Through it, an individual has to know what public life he can follow as he has the
information of the place he to marries. This defies the kind of social life that person has to live
so that he can meet the expectations. Caste can also help an individual to make a selection of his
occupation. This is because the person is offered with the right occupation he should follow
from birth. He is then guided to see that he achieves what is required in that occupation. With the
use of the caste, an individual can be in a position to select a life partner. This is because it has
set the guidelines of endogamy thus the individual has to join in matrimony within his personal
class or the sub caste. This is because the selection of the mates is based on the caste rules. The
caste system as well determines the actions of an individual. This is because it operates on a set of
codes ad guidelines which guide each individual. The use of the status structure governs the way

The Parson Compare And Contrast
Colin McDonald
EN1214
Assignment 1
This essay will explore two texts, the introduction to the Parson s Tale and Chaucer s Retraction.
Through the use of the Norton Anthology texts, and outside sources, we will look at the content
and tone of the Parsons tale to determine tone, analyze the character of the Parson. For Chaucer s
Retraction, we will observe the content and history to determine the reason for using this particular
style to end the tales.
The Parson as a character is often considered the only actual representation of good in the entirety
of The Canterbury tales. He is the only person who is seen as practicing his own advice. Not once
does he entertain the idea of altering the word of god, through rhyme or other means, to better
entertain his companions. Thou getest fable noon ytold for me (311/31), nor will they get poetry;

The continuous use of references to Jesus, and Christ, such as I wol ful fain at Cristes Reerence
, and jesu for his grace with me sende.. add to idea that the Parson is really a God fearing man.
At some points, the parson goes as far as to call fables wretchedness, and asks why he should hurt
himself, when rather he could give a sermon to spread the word of god. It is clear that the Parson s
only goal is to instruct his companions on the topic of God.
Most everything that Chaucer wrote in the Canterbury Tales was critical of the church, clergy, or
religion itself. It is curious then that he finished the tales with a complete retraction. Why would a
man, who had devoted his life to writing about the fallacies in those in power around him, namely
the church, have such a sudden change of heart? Furthermore, why wouldn t Chaucer simply
prevent his works from being published, rather than write a full retraction, asking god and Christ to
have mercy on me and forgive my giltes and namely of my translacions and enditinges .(Retraction

Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition (Seattle s Forgotten World Fair) Gold!! Gold!! Gold!! I heard a
newsboy crying out the Seattle Post Intelligencer s morning headline in the Puget Sound area on
July 17, 1897. The Puget Sound s residents who gathered at the small waterfront area were
attracted by the tempting title. The message had sent shock waves across entire North America.
Within days, I saw thousands of fortune seekers risking their lives for the unknown adventures of
finding gold. The stampeders eagerly bought supplies and then boarded ships bound for the wild
unknown of Alaska and Canada. As a lumber worker, I did not have as much interest in gold as that
of those fortune seekers. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Colorful flyers and significant graffiti were posted around Seattle. People excitingly held the flyers
and keenly waited for the countdown of the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition. Different flyer
designs existed, and the one that was frequently presented as the formal invitation was a flyer that
represented the advantages of Alaska and Seattle (Stein and Becker 38). Similar to most people, I
had sent the formal invitation to all of my friends and family members on rectangular shaped flyers.
The background of the flyers promoted the natural resources and industrial advances of the Pacific
Northwest. On the right side of the flyer, which was the forest, the flyer included a painting of cut
logs and a man holding an ax; this image represented the abundance of natural resources and
great logging industry of the Pacific Northwest. The middle part of the flyer showed a
Drumheller fountain and buildings; snow capped Mountain Rainier was the focal point of the
grounds. On the left side of the flyer, the snow covered roads and trees were displayed.
Moreover, six huskies were used to pull sleds, and the rider with a beard stood with a whip on
the snowy road. A totem pole that was carved with the spiritual symbol hawks was also presented
on the flyer. Two circles were drawn on the top left and right sides of the flyer. The right circle
represented the Northern Pacific Railway. The left circle had a busy ship; it represented the busy

A Brief Note On Electro Encephalography ( Eeg )
Electro encephalography : Electro Encephalography (EEG) is primarily an electrophysiological
monitoring method, recording the electrical activity of the brain. It involves placing electrodes
along the scalp, which measure voltage fluctuations resulting from the ionic flux across the brain
neurons. These are recorded graphically and typically referred to as brainwaves . Prior to the advent
of Computed Tomography (CTScan) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), EEG monitoring
was the primary diagnostic tool for stroke, epilepsy and other focal brain disorders. EEG
monitoring in the settings of cardiac surgery can be initiated before induction by anesthesia and
continues in the post operative phase , in the intensive care unit (ICU). EEG monitoring is useful
to detect seizures . The most common neurological symptoms manifest in the neonatal cardiac
surgical intensive care unit include Non convulsive seizures and Status Epilepticus; the primary
cause being Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy(HIC). Studies reveal that the incidents of HIC
increase in the presence of adverse events like cardiac arrest and also in the use of Mechanical
Circulatory Support, ECMO,etc. EEG can be influenced by the use of hypothermia and anesthetic
agents. Use of deep hypothermia leads to isoelectricity, a marker of reduction in cerebral
metabolism. The threshold for isoelectricty can be a useful indication for adequacy of

Buddist Diet Research Paper
I am atheist, and I chose Buddhist dietary to follow because I am living with my aunt who is a
truly Buddhist and I also wanted to try a new flavor. On Thursday, October 15th, I told my aunt
that I wanted to follow Buddist diet for one day because my aunt usually cooks diet meal for her,
so this was the amazing experience for me because I have never tried to eat Buddist dietary since
I came to the United States. My aunt was kind of surprised about my decision because she has
never seen me eat diet meal before, so she was quite questionable about my decision. However,
she still cooked two meals for me which were brunch, and dinner. For my brunch, I had bodhi leaf
noodle which was the noodle that has the flavor like bodhi leaf. It was really

Importance Of School Dress Codes
How School Dress Codes are Detrimental to Girls.
In many American middle and high schools, there are rules on how you must dress. The most
known of these are that boys must wear shirts and must not show their underwear, and girls must
have shorts or skirts be fingertip length, not show shoulders or bra straps, and not show too much
cleavage. The rules vary by school, but most of these rules are geared towards young women.
College and real life do not have dress codes. Employers have dress codes so that their employees
can convey to customers what the business wants them too, but dress codes in public high schools
are sexist and teach young women that their education is less valuable than that of a man s. Firstly,
most school dress codes are aimed at girls. According to the dress code of my alma mater, Lakota
West High School, there are twelve items of clothing that are not allowed that are directed
towards girls, and only 3 that are specific to boys. There are more that are unisex, but I have
singled out the ones that are gender specific. Why are girls the ones who are more restricted by
the dress code? Imagine you are a young man getting ready for school in the morning. If your
outfit doesn t have oversized armholes, dog collars/spikes, or drug or alcohol related messages,
congratulations! You re ready for school. Now, if you re a young woman getting ready for
school, your outfit must not show your bra straps, have sleeves that cover your entire shoulder,
and not have oversized armholes. Your shorts or skirt cannot be past your fingertips, which for
some girls with long arms means wearing jeans even in 90 degree weather. Your jewelry and
piercings must not be potentially harmful (it is up to the staff to dictate what is and what s not),
and your hair and makeup must not disrupt the educational process. (Again, it is the job of the
staff to decide what is disruptive, there are no set guidelines.) It s a lot harder to get ready for
school as a girl, which just adds more stress to get ready in the morning, and gives them one other
thing to worry about besides schoolwork. The reasoning I ve often heard behind makeup and not
showing shoulders for girls is to not distract other students. Since most

Exchange Rate Fluctuation Factors On Currency
Exchange Rate Fluctuation Factors
The value of currency within a given country holds a different value to the currency of another
country. The values of currency are determined by an exchange rate. In quoting the exchange rate
two methods can be used; the indirect and direct. The indirect method quotes one unit of the local
currency in units of foreign currency whereas the direct method quotes foreign currency in units of
local currency (SAP Solutions, 2015). Obtaining exchange rates to compare the United States Dollar
(USD) to other currencies is best completed using the direct exchange rate to provide consistent
data and reporting.
Strength of the United States Dollar
In comparing the exchange rates of the USD to foreign currencies, four additional countries were
used to complete a two year comparison: Japanese Yen (YEN), European Euro (EURO), British
Pound (GBP), and Mexican Peso (MXN). Exchange rates were obtained from March 2013 through
March 2015. The monthly average direct exchange rates were compiled in graphs to show the
strength of the USD against the foreign currencies of each country.
Though the exchange rates between the dollar and other country s currency fluctuates monthly, it
was a gradual change over the past two years against the YEN, EURO, and MXN. The exchange
rate between USD and GBP was the most volatile change over the two year period. Overall, the
USD has strengthened against the YEN, EURO, MXN, and GBP since June of 2014 (Prakken

The Three Long Weeks The Washington Area Is Terrorized By...
The Beltway Snipers Three long weeks the Washington area was terrorized by a series of
random sniper attacks. At first, the shootings seemed to be random, but were soon discovered to
be coordinated attacks by John Allen Muhammad and his accomplice named Lee Boyd Malvo.
The sniper s claimed the lives of ten victims over the span of three weeks time, starting the
second of October 2002 and ending around the 23 of October. Following leads, the police found a
tree stump in their back yard that had been used for practicing. The two men were found sleeping
in their car at a rest stop, in possession of guns matching the ballistics of the bullets found at the
crime scenes. According to Crime Museum, in 2003 Muhammad was convicted on two counts of
capital murder, homicide committed with intent to terrorize government or the public at large,
conspiracy to commit murder, and the illegal use of a firearm. (Crime Museum) In March 2004, a
judge from Virginia sentenced Muhammad to death. In 2009 Muhammad was executed by lethal
injection. Boyd was also charged twice with capital murder and the unlawful use of a firearm. Boyd
pleaded not guilty on all charges because of insanity stating that he was under Muhammad s
complete control according to Crime Museum. According to the book, Mastering Sociology, written

  • 2. Comparing Wollstonecraft s Pride And Prejudice The novel Pride and Prejudice was set during the late 1700 s and the early 1800 s. Jane Austen wrote the novel based on the events that occurred around her. Historical conflicts during the construction of the novel are present in the novel itself. While writing Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen was influenced by the war with France, the landed gentry, and marriage and gender roles in her society which caused the plot, characters, and the outcome of the book. The war with France stretched over twenty two years, and it affected every level of British society. A quarter of a million men were serving in the regular army, a militia of officers and volunteers in the southeast coast of England (where Jane was from) were convinced that it was an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In her writing, Wollstonecraft argues that women should be treated with the same equals as men. This was a conflicting transformation in women s roles that occurred within the century. Elizabeth Bennet can be considered as an example and a supporter of the writing. Disinherited of her father s property, Elizabeth is not financially independent, and depends upon advantageous marriage for her future survival. Although throughout the novel she asserts her independence that reflects some of Wollstonecraft s opinions and beliefs. An example would be when she rejected to be married with Mr. Collins even though she was in need of the financial support, as he was the one who was to inherit the family estate. However Miss Elizabeth Bennet s friend did the exact opposite and married Mr. Collins because she was already a burden to her parents and was afraid that she would never be asked to marry again. Elizabeth also stood up to Mr. Darcy when he was making remarks about the country even though he was at a much higher social status than she was, and she was reminded of that by her ... • 3. Deforestation of Our Rainforests The most destructive and harmful tragedy that our rainforests, specifically the Amazon, suffer from is deforestation. Deforestation is the clearing or destruction of land throughout forests. Unfortunately, human beings are the number one cause of deforestation throughout the world. The reason if this is simply because we use the wood mainly for things like hydroelectric dams that power communities, palm oil for its biofuel resourcefulness, and the mining for diamond and gold. Another reason would be intentional fires that are used to destroy acres of forest in a quick amount of time for things like construction. Using fires to clear out land quickly is used because taking the time to clear out the land for what will be built would be slower using any other process. The wood can be useful but little do they know that deforestationis extremely harmful to the environment. Deforestation has many effects on the environment. First of all trees make oxygenand oxygen is a necessity for human life Trees exchange carbon dioxide(Green house gas) and turns it into oxygen which again we need to survive, if the carbon dioxide isn t changed fast enough then green house gases build up and the earth heats up carding to the cycle of Global Warming . Not only that but destroying trees destroys countless ecosystems and organisms that are a part of nature, and changing ecosystems and habitats can affect many animals. Destroying the trees will cause a habitat change that will disrupt the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another reason that can prove that they violated the 4th Amendment is that before this program called PRISM came out the government would go and ask for permission to get any type of information but after this program came out It turned out that everything was a secret. Also basically everything about getting people s information was a secret until one day a man called Edward Snowden came out with this point of privacy and he had to end up leaving the country and hiding because the government disagreed with his opinions for a reason. This letter will attempt to the 4th Amendment by proving how all counter terrorism efforts potentially violated privacy. First of all, I think that they violate the 4th amendment science It is proved that they kind of disrespect the privacy of others by making certain agreements with other people to get information from anywhere that people didn t know that they were getting. The more businesses advertise on social media like Facebook, Twitter and other social media. Although the firm has been working on maximum efficiency, Tom Mathis has come up with a better solution to solve the problem. He plans to cut costs by purchasing supplies from overseas sellers. Mr. Mathis knew that this strategy would have increased the cost and time of delivery. The factory buyers should also take the time to investigate any potential new vendors. So he is using information technology to implement the program and to improve the process of inventory restocking. (Larenernest, 2010) However, workers have been so accustomed to the Kanban system that it is difficult for them to change the system, so there is a high resistance to change among the business. In addition, it is well known that Microsoft managed to reduce inventory levels and increase production rates without significant investment in information technology. They settled with the traditional method of trying to adopt new methods and many operating firms were deliberately separated from the technology because the first thing the experts tell Kanban factory to do is to disconnect the Material Requirements Planning System (MRP). MRP is a system used to manage manufacturing processes in terms of production planning, scheduling, and inventory control. This causes another problem for Mr. Mathis since the firm does not have the internal resources needed to support the system that he wants to employ. (Carr, 2005) Question 2 From a ... • 7. Socrates Views On Socrates To question what no man has questioned before, that is what we praise Socrates for. Socrates Philosophies grew out of his questioning of the social norm. Using this technique, he seems to always focus on three main aspects: justice, virtue, and morality. Socrates claims that he has no wisdom. He states, I know I have no wisdom, great or small. The world has an infinite number of possibilities and anything he declares understanding, is extremely minimal compared to the possibilities that exist in the world, there is so much out there that hasn t been exposed yet. Socrates had many thoughts and ideas over things people never even took time to think about. He thought differently and always more intensely than others. Socrates says that knowledge is essential to a person. He concluded that a person s evil and wrong actions come from their ignorance and their failure to investigate. He was also convinced that no one knowingly does wrong, if a person does not know what is right, then that person will do wrong, but in the other hand, if the person knows what is right, they will most definitely do right. He once mentioned that the unexamined life is not worth living introducing the idea of Universal Definitions, meaning although individual things may vary and be constructed differently the definitions of how they are similar, are permanent. The most important thing about Socrates was the fact that he was a teacher. He taught anywhere and everywhere, he even went up to people, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The effects of the surgery that can make you a genius could be temporary, and have not been studied and may be dangerous. Flowers for Algernon, a short story, describes a character who is intellectually disabled. He has to make a choice between having doctors conduct an experiment that involves surgery on him to make him three times smarter or staying the way he is. Charlie Gordon should not have the surgery because it is highly experimental and theoretical, as well as the negative social effects. Charlie Gordon should not have surgery due to the experimental nature of the surgery as its effects have not been fully analyzed. For example, Doctor Strauss and Doctor Nemur told Charlie that there is a possibility that the experiment could fail and that the outcome could be returning to his original mental status. Gordon remains indifferent to the statement and says, They said you know it will probly tempirery. I said yes. Miss Kinnian told me. I dont care if it herts (112). • 9. America s Orchestras Are In Crisis Analysis In the article America s Orchestras are in Crisis , Kennicot underlines the fact that the American orchestras have been undergoing a rough patch in the recent times. He uses the example of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, which in spite of the massive investment that was made its creation, it has been accumulating debts and having a bleak future. This is also the case for Nashville Symphony, which has been accumulating deficits to the tune of $10 to $20 million per year. This shows an extremely bleak picture as far as the future of symphony orchestrais concerned. Indeed, similar sentiments are expressed by Jennie Dorris in The Audition , where she gives the story of Tetreault, a Colorado based percussionist who has put in 100 hour weeks... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This statement is pointing at the increased disconnect between the likes and preferences of the youth population or rather the younger entrepreneurs and the ideas that are increasingly propagated by the orchestra players. It should be noted that a large number of individual donors and institutional funders are questioning the continued investment in orchestras, yet the musicians continue to build their hopes on the efficiency of renewed fundraising efforts without considering the change or dynamic nature of the feelings of younger generations regarding this type of music. In essence, the orchestra musicians simply want to ignore their current need for gratification and instead pay attention to ideas that are alien to them. This should point to what is already wrong with the orchestra world of music. Of course, there are people who are attracted to it simply because it sets them apart from the masses who would not feel at ease paying excessively for a type of music that does not offer gratification to their immediate needs. However, a vast majority would only feel comfortable paying for music that appeals to their souls. Essentially, it should be clear that the financial problems that are attributable to the ... • 10. Main Stakeholders Of The Ginsters Company 1.0 Introduction In this assignment I will be discussing the main topic stakeholder theory, what it means to a company and how it relates to the Ginsters Company. I will also be writing about the main stakeholders in the Ginsters Company and carrying out an analysis on the company s main stakeholders and how the company approaches the corporate social responsibility. 2.0 Stakeholder Theory John Kew and John Stredwick mention that Jonhson et all 2011 defines a stakeholder as those individuals or groups who depend on the organisation to fulfil their own goals and on who in turn the organisation depends. An organisation has external stakeholders and internal stakeholders. External stakeholders are individuals or groups outside the business who are linked to the organisation in some way but not directly these can be customers, shareholders, society, suppliers and the government. On the other hand are Internal Stakeholders, these stakeholders are individuals or groups who work directly inside the business. These are the employees, managers and owners of the company. Stakeholder theory looks at the relationships between an organization and others in its internal and external environment. It also looks at how these relationships affect how the organization conducts its activities. You can think of a stakeholder as a person or organization that can affect or be affected by your organization. Stakeholders can come from inside or outside of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These include Terminology, Due Process rights, the process of Arrest to Corrections, Juvenile crimecompared to Adult crime, age limits and waivers for the adult system and the different community correctional options, which are available to the offenders. Juvenile Justice and Adult Justice When it comes to how each state handles the judicial system in their jurisdiction, it varies from state to state. All states construct their own juvenile judicial system and create their own laws. There are different beliefs in each state about what will distinguish differences in the juvenile and adult justice systems. In most jurisdictions, juveniles are considered delinquent and not guilty. The United States from 1970 1985 and Switzerland from 1988 1993 had used MDMA legally as a prescription drug to enhance psychotherapy and early results suggest that they were helpful in trauma related disorders (Oehen, Traber, Widmer, Schnyder, 2013). MDMA in the study was a pure stain due to its creation in a laboratory, unlike a street stain which contains substitutes. This study was conducted with participants from the German speaking parts of Switzerland, as the United States had classified it illegal since 1985. The study was meant to provide a safe environment for the use of the psychedelic drug within a treatment setting. • 21. 1960-1980 Essay In 1957 there was a volcanic eruption off the Azorean island of Faial and a series of earthquakes that displaced many families from their homes. The U.S. Azorean Relief Act in the summer of 1958 allowed for the entry of 4,811 Portuguese (p.3). Pap (1996), for example, estimates that half of the Azorean populationin 1965 had personal or family ties in the US. The establishment of Portuguese speaking communities before 1921 thus encouraged, enabled, and channeled post 1957 migration. The peak years for Portuguese migration to the US were thus 1967 1970, when immigrants averaged over 13,000 per year (Bailey, 2000). The Azorean population reached a peak of 330,000 in 1960, but by 1974 had shrunk to 259,000 (Chapin, 1989). Several factors contributed to the large scale emigration from the Azores but the principal reason was poverty. The Azores were undeveloped in part due to their geographic isolation from continental Portugal, with an approximate distance of 1000 miles of ocean separating the two regions. Under the regime of AntГіnio de Oliveira Salazar, Europe s longest fascist dictatorship 1926 1974, power was highly centralized in Lisbon. Even Azorean imports and exports had to pass through ... Food producers must increase food production by 70% in order to feed the increasing population (Rangel, 2015, para. 20). A solution to increase the production from farms across the globe is to genetically modify food. Scientists can manipulate the genes of different crops to increase the crops size, quantity, shelf life and even resistance to pests. In recent years, genetically modified foods have begun to show up in grocery stores across the globe. Some consumers do not object to eating genetically modified food, but others have started to question how genetically modified food could affect the consumer. Rangel (2015) wrote that genetically modified objects are not new to society and should be nothing to worry about. He stated that humans have altered the genetics of organisms for over 30,000 years through the process of selective breeding or artificial selection (para. 1). Selective breeding may not be conducted in a lab like genetically modified objects (GMO) today, but it is comparable to GMOs because through selective breeding, farmers choose the plants with the most desirable traits and plant the seeds from those plants in order to have an enhanced crop the following year. • 30. Balance In The Oresteia Through the three plays of The Oresteia, we are exposed to many opposing forces of power. Elements such as darkness, light, fate, patriarchy, and justice are intertwined to make up Aeschylus tragic tale, however all of these elements are directed by one central force: balance. The word balance itself suggests a state of equilibrium or a stable environment. Balance is often looked at as a scale; if one side of the scale is overpowering the other, then it creates a state of disorder, irregularity, and even chaos. Aeschylus meddles with the scales of balance but, in the end, reinforces the equipoise of power. I would argue that, not only does The Oresteiainclude balance as a critical underlying theme and is strategically used in determining the outcome of the play, but that the role of Athena is vital in creating this balance. In this play, there are many cases in which the word balance can be substituted for the word justice. The final play, The Eumenides, is significantly based on the idea of balance. Aeschylus puts it as justice waits and turns the scales (line 61), meaning that justice is purposeful, and is one of the components that forces the balance within the play. By analyzing the reference to the tipping of the scales, we can assume a reversal of fortune and what is fated to happen. With the trial being the main plotline of the last play, it reveals the scales tipping towards justice and leaves us with a sense of harmony. The two sides of justice are seen ... • 37. Why Communication Is Necessary For Successful Management... In the field of educational research, the need for a clear communication between the project managers and its team members is fueled by the need to accurately measure the project status and to be able to effectively control the deviations. A well designed communication strategy in this complex research is mandatory to develop an effective communication. This paper focuses on the use of internal communication for the particular case of the StartSmart K 3 Plus educational research project. To have a better understanding of the benefits and limitations of internal communications from a project perspective, I will provide a description of the communications recommended to be used for this project and the development and application of the strategy selection. 2.Literature review The communication process is very important throughout the project because it keeps informed the ones involve in it, but also keeps in touch with those across the organization. Ironically, it is also regarded as one of the most neglected part of corporate operations (Toney Powers, 1997 P.33) There are many reasons why communication is necessary for the successful management of changes in a project. These include ensuring an increased understanding of the project to eliminate waste and to motivate those involved in the processes affected. According to Hameri (1997): the larger the project, the more important the role of communication. He argued and I agreed, that communication is not only important ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As far as our method of research goes, it worked out perfectly. If we had done any other method it might not have worked out as well. This defies the kind of social life that person has to live so that he can meet the expectations. Caste can also help an individual to make a selection of his occupation. For Chaucer s Retraction, we will observe the content and history to determine the reason for using this particular style to end the tales. The Parson as a character is often considered the only actual representation of good in the entirety of The Canterbury tales. He is the only person who is seen as practicing his own advice. Most everything that Chaucer wrote in the Canterbury Tales was critical of the church, clergy, or religion itself. It is curious then that he finished the tales with a complete retraction. Why would a man, who had devoted his life to writing about the fallacies in those in power around him, namely the church, have such a sudden change of heart? • 46. A Brief Note On Electro Encephalography ( Eeg ) Electro encephalography : Electro Encephalography (EEG) is primarily an electrophysiological monitoring method, recording the electrical activity of the brain. It involves placing electrodes along the scalp, which measure voltage fluctuations resulting from the ionic flux across the brain neurons. These are recorded graphically and typically referred to as brainwaves . Prior to the advent of Computed Tomography (CTScan) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), EEG monitoring was the primary diagnostic tool for stroke, epilepsy and other focal brain disorders. EEG monitoring in the settings of cardiac surgery can be initiated before induction by anesthesia and continues in the post operative phase , in the intensive care unit (ICU). EEG monitoring is useful to detect seizures . The most common neurological symptoms manifest in the neonatal cardiac surgical intensive care unit include Non convulsive seizures and Status Epilepticus; the primary cause being Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy(HIC). Studies reveal that the incidents of HIC increase in the presence of adverse events like cardiac arrest and also in the use of Mechanical Circulatory Support, ECMO,etc. EEG can be influenced by the use of hypothermia and anesthetic agents. • 48. Importance Of School Dress Codes How School Dress Codes are Detrimental to Girls. In many American middle and high schools, there are rules on how you must dress. The most known of these are that boys must wear shirts and must not show their underwear, and girls must have shorts or skirts be fingertip length, not show shoulders or bra straps, and not show too much cleavage. The rules vary by school, but most of these rules are geared towards young women. College and real life do not have dress codes. Employers have dress codes so that their employees can convey to customers what the business wants them too, but dress codes in public high schools are sexist and teach young women that their education is less valuable than that of a man s. Firstly, most school dress codes are aimed at girls. According to the dress code of my alma mater, Lakota West High School, there are twelve items of clothing that are not allowed that are directed towards girls, and only 3 that are specific to boys. There are more that are unisex, but I have singled out the ones that are gender specific. Why are girls the ones who are more restricted by the dress code? Imagine you are a young man getting ready for school in the morning. If your outfit doesn t have oversized armholes, dog collars/spikes, or drug or alcohol related messages, congratulations! You re ready for school. Now, if you re a young woman getting ready for school, your outfit must not show your bra straps, have sleeves that cover your entire shoulder, and not have oversized armholes. Your shorts or skirt cannot be past your fingertips, which for some girls with long arms means wearing jeans even in 90 degree weather. Your jewelry and piercings must not be potentially harmful (it is up to the staff to dictate what is and what s not), and your hair and makeup must not disrupt the educational process. (Again, it is the job of the staff to decide what is disruptive, there are no set guidelines.) It s a lot harder to get ready for school as a girl, which just adds more stress to get ready in the morning, and gives them one other thing to worry about besides schoolwork. The reasoning I ve often heard behind makeup and not showing shoulders for girls is to not distract other students. Since most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Exchange Rate Fluctuation Factors On Currency Exchange Rate Fluctuation Factors The value of currency within a given country holds a different value to the currency of another country. The values of currency are determined by an exchange rate. In quoting the exchange rate two methods can be used; the indirect and direct. The indirect method quotes one unit of the local currency in units of foreign currency whereas the direct method quotes foreign currency in units of local currency (SAP Solutions, 2015). Obtaining exchange rates to compare the United States Dollar (USD) to other currencies is best completed using the direct exchange rate to provide consistent data and reporting. Strength of the United States Dollar In comparing the exchange rates of the USD to foreign currencies, four additional countries were used to complete a two year comparison: Japanese Yen (YEN), European Euro (EURO), British Pound (GBP), and Mexican Peso (MXN). Exchange rates were obtained from March 2013 through March 2015. The monthly average direct exchange rates were compiled in graphs to show the strength of the USD against the foreign currencies of each country.
