The use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) has been exposed for a while in the world of
professional sports. Media and sports fans, myself included, look unfavorably on the use of PEDs by
professional athletes, the reasons why it s viewed as unfavorable can be attributed to the theory of
symbolic interactionism. Even though there is a large stigma against the use of PEDs the testing
