These theories have been used by Nissan to improve their productivity. However JIT and Lean
Combined together makes Toyota Production System. For more clarity I am discussing each
theory individually first is JIT is a continuous process and it forces problem by reduced inventory.
With this theory only material are called when they are needed according to the demand. The JIT
is also broken down in to five segments which are JIT Partnerships which exist when a supplier
and a purchaser work together with open communication and a target of removing waste and
lowering down the cost. The second is JIT layouts which is designed to reduce the movements. JIT
materials layout place material directly where they are needed. The third is JIT inventory which
works to overcome any hurdle if arises in the way. The fourth is JIT scheduling where effective
schedules are communicated both within the organization and to outside suppliers. By being able
to utilize these methods Nissan would able to overhaul their process and work to create a JIT
environment to utilize all methods and start saving tremendous amount of overhead and
expenditures. Like other theories there are some advantages and disadvantages of JIT. Advantages
include efficient replenishment systems, more free space, less manpower required to maintain the
inventory levels. The disadvantages are Vulnerable to any demand fluctuation caused by reason i.e.
natural disaster, dependency on their supplier is high because of the timely

Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, And Nucleic Acids
There are four types of biomolecules, carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids.
Carbohydrates are large chains of sugar found in food and living tissues. This includes sugars,
starch, and cellulose. They have the same ratio of hydrogen and oxygen that water has, 2:1.
They are broken down to release energy in the animal body. Lipids are any organic compounds
that are fatty acids and don t dissolve in water but do in organic solvents. Fatty acids can be
found in natural oils, waxes, and steroids. Proteins are macromolecules that do everything in the
cell. They are tools and machines that make things happen. Nucleic acids are long strands of
nucleotides, and function primarily in storage and transmission of genetic information. There are
two types of nucleic acids, DNA and RNA. DNA is the genetic material of all cellular organisms,
and RNA sends out messages from the information that is held in the DNA. These four
biomolecules are metabolized by the animal body. Each biomolecule is broken down in a different
process. The end result of each process is the creation of usable energy for the body. This energy is
used to work and generate other chemical reactions that help the body move and think.
Carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids each provide energy to different places within the
body that, in turn, stimulate other chemical reactions to occur, creating a chain reaction of
chemical reactions throughout the body. The metabolization of these major

Homeless Youth Thesis
Homeless youth pursuing higher education, are amongst the students facing the greatest
obstacles. It has been estimated that 32,000 homeless youth do not attend college due to their
lack of academic foundation and inability to attain accessible resources and or information to
make college a viable option (Leibson 138 141). A study done by Hannah Leibson, a writer for
Child Law Practice, went to explore what kind of research had already been previously done in
terms of college enrollment and completion, what challenges were identified that potentially hinder
the ability of homeless youth to pursue college, and programs pre established that impede on the
youth s accessibility to financial aid (138 141). Although Leibson s study did go to leave

Donald Trump And Race Relations
With Donald Trump s ascension to the presidency months ago, he inherited a nation divided on
many issues, including race relations. Thus, a question is raised: How has President Trump
worked to address the issue of race relations in the United States? He has promised to do
everything he could to help race relations improve and unify the country, as demonstrated by the
quote: Today and every day of my presidency I pledge to do everything I can to continue that
promise of freedom for African Americans and for every American...We re going to bring this
country together (Cottman, 2017). Unfortunately, it does not seem likely that race relations will
improve so as long as Trump remains president. The facts below will prove that Trump has
worsened race relations in America, and deepened the justifiable fear of division which many
Americans feel. Such a conclusion can be clearly made through the observation of his past and
present conduct.
Trump promised on the campaign trail to dramatically improve the lives of African Americans,
saying Every African Americancitizen in this country is entitled to a government that puts their
jobs, wages and security first. ... Here is the promise that I make to you: Whether you vote for me
or not, I will be your greatest champion (Swerdlick, 2017). Though Trump seems sincere in the
quote, how is his relationship with African Americans? Notwithstanding his claim to have a great
relationship with the blacks (Westover, 2016), Trump s past record

What Is The Hero s Journey In Narnia
Chloe O Brien
Hero s Journey
The Chronicles Of Narnia, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe follows the path of The
Hero s Journey, which was created by Joseph Campbell. In The Chronicles Of Narnia, The Lion,
The Witch, and The Wardrobe, the main characters are the 4 Pevensie children, Edmund, Lucy,
Susan, and Peter. Each of them follows the steps of the hero s journey. This is when the hero is
introduced to the ordinary world. This occurs when the children have been sent off to a professor
s house In England by their mother while the war is going on. When the children arrive at the
house, the maid lays down all kinds of rules. She tells the children that no frivolity is to occur in
the house because it will disturb the professor. During a game of hiding and seek, Lucy and ... Show

world of Narnia. While in Narnia, Lucy meets Mr. Tumnus. He is a faun; half human, half goat.
Mr. Tumnus guides Lucy to his cabin and proceeds to tell Lucy all about Narnia, the White Witch,
Aslan and how there is only snow in Narnia.Lucy is then rushed to go back where she came from
because it was illegal for Mr. Tumnus to have a human at his cabin per the rule of the White
Witches.
Lucy then returns back to her world in England expecting everyone to wonder where she had
been, but as she soon earns that time had not moved on while she was gone as her siblings were
still playing hide and seek. Lucy tries to tell her older brother, Peter about Mr.Tumnus and what
she witnessed, but Peter does not believe her and tells her to stop pretending. This is the refusal of

In-Game Making College Essay
Creating something from nothing has always been a joy of mine, and nothing seemed to embody
that notion more than creating a game through programming. Of course, I know that creating
something from nothing is a fictional term but when you decide to immerse yourself in a
programming scheme, bridging the gap between software and hardware, something truly magical
happens. All that is needed is a single idea, no matter how absurd it is and a text editor. Once you
have that, devote yourself to it for a few hours or days and you can create your own working world
called a program.
In game making, the whole world revolves around the programmer. The programmer is the one

Brief History Of Time By Stephen Hawking
For the second semester book report I chose to read A Brief History of Time by Stephen
Hawking. Before I started reading I knew what I signed up for. A lot of math, science and
complicated stuff that sometimes makes my head hurt. Nonetheless A Brief History of Time is
about the history of science, history of how the universe began and how the journey of finding the
theory for everything has been going. He talks about some of the theories that may help with
finding the theory like the black hole theory, general relativity, quantum mechanics, imaginary time,
string theory and many more. He also mentions the belief that people have that god created the
universe, that God created everything.
The book starts with Stephen Hawking talking about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A Greek astronomer named Ptolemy agreed with Aristotle theory and made a model that
provided a decent accurate system for predicting the places where heavenly bodies in the sky
were located. His model was accepted and adopted generally. But then a simpler model made by
a Polish priest, Nicholas Copernicus was suggested. His idea was that the sun was still at the
center and that the earth and the planets moved in circular orbits around the sun. Two
astronomers took this idea seriously Johannes Kepler and Galileo Galilei and they started publicly
supporting the Copernican theory. The death of the Aristotelian/Ptolemaic theory came in 1609
when Galileo started to look at the sky with a telescope. When he looked at Jupiter he saw that it
was by a lot of small satellites or moon that orbited around it. Johannes then changed Copernicus s
theory a bit by suggesting that the planets move in ellipses instead of circles. An explanation came
when Isaac Newton published his Philosophiae Naturalis Principia mathematica in 1687. In it he
provided a theory of how bodies move in space and time. He also made the complicated
mathematics needed to analyze those motions. Then questions were raised like whether the
universe had a beginning in time and whether it is limited in space.
Edwin Hubble in 1929 made an observation that the galaxies are moving rapidly away from us like
the universe is expanding. Then he thought that the universe was really close

Why Winter Driving Is Bad
As all long time residents know, Michigan winters can be brutal. However, even during a normal
winter, you can expect average temperatures that are below freezing for three months out of the
year and snowfall totals ranging between 44 inches and 55 inches. Keeping your pavement clear
throughout the winter typically involves frequent applications of salt or chemical deicers as well
as repeated snowplowing. Between the freeze/thaw cycle, the potential damage from snowplows
and the corrosive actions of deicing materials, your asphalt pavement can take a beating. If you
want to minimize the damage that winter can cause, you should make sure that you have cracks
repaired before the arrival of cold weather.

Twelve Angry Men Essay
Twelve Angry Men is a very interesting play about an unfortunate young man, who was convicted
of killing his dad. The worst part was, the young man was only nineteen, and his life was just
starting. The jurors listened to all the evidence, then came the hard part, making the decision:
guilty, or innocent. Eleven jurors said guilty and only one said innocent. There was a lot of peer
pressure involved. I decided to write about different peer pressures three of the jurors used.
The three jurors I picked are juror #10, juror #7, and juror #8.The first juror I want to write about is
#10. Juror #10 was using a lot of sarcasm, whenever he was trying to prove his point, or prove
someone else wrong. I think that this method of peer pressure is ... Show more content on

Although a lot of evidence was really convincing, he tried to prove it unconvincing and use
sarcasm to convince other jurors otherwise. One example of #7 using sarcasm would be this quote:
quot; Why don t we have them run the trial over... quot; I think this quote clearly shows that juror #7
is trying to convince other jurors, that court s evidence proves the young man is guilty without
reasonable doubt. Also to break #8 s spirit he used name calling, another kind of peer pressure. I
believe this is a very good example: quot;The boy is guilty pal, like the nose on your face. quot;
The third and last juror I picked was #8, he was not using sarcasm, nor was he muscle flexing, he
was using reasonable argument, which helped him convince all the jurors that the young man was
innocent. He did not try to convince anybody by screaming at him, on the contrary he tried to go
over all the evidence, and he was using intelligent thinking, like trying to calculate exact times, and
figure out the correct position of the switch blade in the chest of the father. He was also trying to
recreate a situation to see if indeed one of the witnesses on the stand was lying.
Quotes like this one convinced me that #8 was very wise and intelligent person: quot;If he heard

Essay On Discrimination And Discrimination
Discrimination and harassment in the workplace can come in many forms. However,
Discrimination, for the purpose of employment law, is any workplace action such as hiring, firing,
demoting, and promoting, based on a prejudice of some kind, that results in the unfair treatment of
employees (Ali, Yamada, Mahmood, 2015). With some distinguished exceptions, such as
affirmative action, discriminationis strictly prohibited by numerous federal laws (Ali, Yamada,
Mahmood, 2015). Nonetheless, there are three important laws that regulate discrimination in
employment and they are: Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination in
Employment Act of 1967, and Americans with Disabilities Act. Furthermore, there is a multitude of

52). Next, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), protects certain applicants
and employees 40 years of age and older from discrimination on the basis of age in hiring,
promotion, discharge, compensation, or terms, conditions or privileges of employment. The ADEA
is enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In enacting the ADEA,
Congress purpose was to promote employment of older persons based on their ability rather than
age; to prohibit arbitrary age discrimination in employment; and to help employers and workers
find ways of meeting problems arising from the impact of age on employment (Lewis, 2013, p.
272). Yet, when it comes to making decisions about employees, the ADEA applies to all employers
with twenty or more employees, including federal, state, and local governments, and prohibits
discrimination against a person over the age of forty, because of his or her age with respect to any
term, condition, or privilege of employment, including hiring, firing, promoting, laying off,
compensation, benefits, job assignments, and training (Lewis, 2012, p. 273). Moreover, the third
most important law is the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Americans with Disabilities Act of
1990 (ADA) and its subsequent amendments in 2008 provided comprehensive protection against
discrimination based on actual or perceived disabilities. The ADA prohibits discrimination based on
disability in

Unit 207 Understand Person Centred Approaches Essays
Unit 207 Understand person centred approaches in adult social care settings.
Outcome 1 Understand person centred approaches for care and support.
1.1 Define Person centred values.
Person centred values means the people whom we support are treated as equals and are involved
in all aspects and areas of their care and that they are respected and valued as individuals. This
means being involved in their assessments, care delivery and support planning, basically person
centred values is making sure all approaches, policies and procedures and care practices put the
residents at the centre of the day to day activities. It should also include the residents and their
families in the planning and maintaining of this.
1.2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The development of a support plan is the perfect example of how person centred working operates.
Instead offering people a choice of what is currently available and finding what best fits their
needs, person centred working looks at someone s needs and built the support package around
them. One of the important aspects of person centred planning is to look at what people are able
to do for themselves and to ensure that services are not taking over aspects of a person s life that
they could perfectly well manage without support.
Outcome 3 Understand the importance of establishing consent when providing care or support.
3.1 Define the word consent
Consent is the informed agreement to an action and/or decision. Permission for something to
happen or agreement to do something.
3.2 Explain the importance of gaining consent when providing care or support.
When working with an individual it is important to uphold their rights to be fully involved in their
own care, whilst adhering to legal requirements. It is also the individuals right to refuse any care,
support or treatment they do not want. It is also essential that people not only give you their
consent but also that they understand what they are consenting to and the implications of this.
Gaining consent protects not just the career but the individual receiving the care and support as
well. If no consent is given then you cannot proceed with the care. It is illegal to pressure anyone

Information Technology (IT) sourcing today is bigger than ever before, thanks to the swiftness
and ease of technology advancements such as cloud computing, business operation and

and are a major aspect in business strategy. IT sourcing is mainly categorized into IT insourcing
and IT outsourcing. IT sourcing gives new starters the opportunity to benefit from the experience

Investment of management attention upon core business can detract from back office
tasks or infrastructure management. Quinn (1999) makes the argument of focusing on
core competencies and to outsource non core competencies as shown in figure 4

significant risks that may be realized if IT sourcing fails.

Lab Report
Module Name: Mechanical Principles (ENGD1005)
Experiment Name: Thermal Conductivity
Student P number: P14177341
Lab Tutor : Dr Rick Greenough
Date: 26/11/2014
Objectives of the experiment:
The objective of the experiment was to measure and determine the coefficient of thermal
conductivity for copper and stainless steel.
Background:
Thermal conduction is the transfer of heat energy in a material due to the temperature gradient. It
always takes place from a region of high temperature to a region of low temperature. Heat transfers
at a higher rate across materials that have high thermal conductivity than across materials with low
thermal conductivity. Thermal conductivity is temperature dependant.
Apparatus:
Thermocouple potentiometer
Cussons thermal conductivity apparatus.
Measuring beaker
Procedure:
Firstly before the experiment begins ensure the apparatus has been set up correctly, i.e checking if
all dials are in their correct position. After the apparatus has been set up, what should be done is the
temperatures of the cold water in and hot water out should be noted down, this is done by reading
the temperature gauges on the cussons thermal conductivity apparatus . After temperature of cold
water in and hot water out has been noted you can move onto using the Thermocouple
potentiometer to find the temperature of the water as it is heated through the metals and out of the
metals. This can be done by putting the

Political Cartoon Patriotism Or Treason
Patriotism or Treason
1. Political cartoons can be interpreted in many ways. People have all types of opinions.
Whenever I looked at the picture for the first time I thought about many things. I saw that the
Boston people were forcing the tea down his throat. Also, I noticed that the guy on the right of
the man being tarred and feathered had him on a leash or rope of some kind and he was holding
a stick. Since he was being tarred and feathered, I will assume it was a British official. In the
background I saw the sailors on the ship dumping the tea, which would be the Boston Tea Party.
Another interesting thing that I saw was a rope on the Liberty Tree with a document on the tree.
The document was of the Stamp Act upside down. When I saw the rope I thought of how there is a
price to those that want liberty. I know that in every political cartoon almost everything has ... Show

If I was the man with the teakettle I would be giving the excise man what he wanted. I would be

at the British and protest against them. There should not be a tax on the tea. We should not have
to pay for things that we don t want to pay for. If they were going to tax the tea, then we do not
want it anymore. I should not have to pay taxes on tea, because I did not ask for it. I am pouring
the tea, because I am making a statement. 4. The Liberty Tree was a place where they would
ridicule people. I looked up more information about the Liberty Tree and that is what I had
found. The British officials would take people there to tar them and feather them. The
significance of a noose next to the term Liberty Tree is pretty ironic. Liberty means freedom and
a noose does the exact opposite. A noose is to hang people, so I am sure it was there because they
hung people that did not agree with them. They had a price to pay with the liberty they wanted.
The tree was the one of the first acts of

Ghetto Documentary Analysis
At the end of WW2, many films ended up found in a hidden concrete vault located in a forest. The
film marked Ghetto was one of the many films of Hitler s propaganda machine found in this
archive. Out of all the films found only one film showed the Jewish life in the Ghettos. This film
turned into the documentary called A FilmUnfinished. The footage from the film corresponds with
the class lectures about the ghettos in regards to conditions, underground secretes, and the Judenrat.
Conditions in the ghetto varied in different locations, but in this film, the footage comes from the
Warsaw ghettos. The footage of the film corresponds with class lectures by showing the Warsaw
ghetto conditions compared to hearing about them in class. The usage of the ghettos was primarily
for isolating thousands of Jews from non Jews by having the ghettos surrounded by walls and the
last stop before the extermination camps. In many locations, the ghetto conditions had lack of
food, various diseases, bad hygiene, and poor housing conditions. The footage from the film shows
different clips of the housing conditions in the ghettos. A few of these clips show starving Jews
laying on beds in dirty conditions dying from starvation or Typhus. The film also shows the Jews

performances, and having funerals. The real purpose behind the staged events are unknown, but
probably to fool the International Committee of the Red Cross when visits occurred. Jews held
secrets in the ghettos by having an underground observation of religion. Another big secret the Jews
held comes from secret documentation of the daily life in the ghettos from different members such
as rabbis, doctors, scientists, and other people. In correspondence to the class, the film does mention
the secrets and shows some of them

Effect Of Employees On Employees
Abstract This paper examined the effects on employees when the manager is present in the
workplace. It covered the definition of a manager, positive effects on employees, characteristics
of a good manager, negative effects on employees, lack of characteristics in a bad manager, and
statistics to back up some information. The relationships between employees and managers and
types of workplaces were also examined. The study concluded that the presence of a manager on
a regular basis is overall, the best option for both the employees and the workplace. Having a
manager around help the employees stay focused, helps managers better understand their
employees, and benefits the organization as a whole. Manager s Presence and Effect on
Employees No matter what area of study a person may choose to pursue, they will end up with a
manager in some form or another. Whether it is being a student, having a part time job, or a
lifelong career, everyone will be faced with a manager. A manager can be defined as a person
responsible for controlling or administering all or part of a company or similar organization
(Grout, Fisher, 2011, p.103). In addition to Grout and Fisher s definition of a manager, a manager
oversees all events and ideas held by the organization. Based off of the definition of a manager, it
can be concluded that a manager has the most important say in what an organization carries out.
Due to the fact that the manager has the highest say, employees tend to

Reasons For The Fall Of The Mughals In India
The Mughals ruled over much of India more than 300 years who through seven generations
remained in power over the subcontinent and tried to integrate Hindus and Muslims into a united
Indian state. According to the text; Muslim s spiritual and philosophical life in India evolved
together with the religious life of non Muslims . The Delhi sultanate as well as Mughal s didn t
intervene in the religious obligations and believes of their people. The reason for the conquest of
Indiaby Mughals was purely a factor to strengthen their power over the region. The promotion of
religion was not a major factor in the state policies. It was Aurangzeb s political insights that he

The Mughals were Muslims but they were not the promoters of Islam. They didn t impose the
religion with the military power. In fact they themselves were not very true followers of Islam,
used to keep several wives and so called lovers all around themselves and enjoying the luxury life.
This was the major reason for the decline of Mughal s power.
When British were building Universities and were doing research in technological progress,
Mughals were busy in building stylish mosques and tombs rather than building universities and
educating people in subcontinent. Therefore, a time came when British rushed in the subcontinent
so elegantly; no one imagined the consequences of allowing East India Company for business
purpose.
The information of corruption and mismanagement of funds and important documents reached
headquarter in England. The government of that time in UK made their elected members of
parliament responsible to check and regulate the East India Company. But still the company
managed to escape the situation and prolonged their hold in the other regions of India as well, later

Description Of The Installation Police Received A Call...
At 13:45 EST on January 1st 20xx, the installation police received a call from Mr. X, a
supervisor at the gymnasium (also the location used for hosting redeployment ceremonies and
other functions). He reported that one of his workers Mr. Q, was in possession of a backpack
that he found unattended in the men s locker room. According to Mr. Q, he opened the bag out of
curiosity to find out if there is a name or any identification so that he can return it to the owner.
Mr. Q noticed an empty or dummy pipe bomb container inside the backpack. The supervisor
requested a patrol car and officer to be sent to the location. Officer A, was the first on the scene and
upon investigation and interview with the witness/worker determined that the package was a dud
/dummy. Officer A, was an Explosives Ordnance Soldier prior to joining the installation policeforce
and has extensive knowledge and experience with explosives. Officer A s assessment of the
situation was that, it could either be an expensive prank or a dry run for a future attack.
The installation police chief informed us of the situation, based off of Officer A s assessment,
knowledge and experience with explosives. Based on this tip from the installation police chief
together with other intelligence reports, there is a credible threat with indications of an imminent
attack, possibly involving the use of a crude pipe bomb for any type of CBRNE attack on the
installation. We do not have all the facts and although we will not

Example Of Courage In To Kill A Mockingbird
You were walking through the supermarket when you over hear two women talking about a story,
that was all over the news. It was about a man that shot another man because his wife was cheating
on him. The two women were saying that the man s actions were courageous, but you believe
otherwise. You feel that courageis not a man with a gun in his hand, but a man that seeks a
resolution. Courage can be defined in many ways. Or people can express their courageous actions
differently than others. One of the best literary examples of courage is the novel To Kill A
Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee. The book itself conveys many forms of courage that jump
out at you. There are many debates stating who the most courageous character is, or what Harper
Lee is trying to state by expressing the courage into her characters. Those topics will be spoke
about today. Courage has a lot of definitions that everyone can follow. Most people consider
courage being whenever someone faces their fears head on, or standing up for what you believe
in. In To Kill A Mockingbird courage is expressed in many ways including standing up for your
beliefs. Atticus Finch, an honorable lawyer states, It s when you know you re licked before you

Savant Syndrome In Rain Man
The movie that I will be critically examining to illustrate the neurodevelopmental disorder called
Autism is Rain Man. I feel this movie is a perfect example of a popular film that depicts certain
characteristics that are outlined in the DSM V criteria. In the movie Rain Man (Levinson, Marrow
Bass, 1988), two brothers embark upon a journey of connecting with one another. In this classic film
, Charlie (Tom Cruise) learns for the first time of his brother Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) who is an
institutionalized autistic savant who is the beneficiary of their father s fortune (Rain Man: The

Savant Syndrome is condition in which persons with serious mental disabilities, including
autistic disorder, have some island of genius that stands in marked, incongruous contrast to
overall handicap (Treffert, 2009). In this article, the main focus is on Savant Syndrome and how
the condition is extremely rare, studies have shown 1 in 10 autistic persons show some savant
skills (Treffert, 2009). It goes on in depth of the variety of savant skills in autistic people and
that such skills are linked to the massive memory in our brains. Through extensive observations
and reports, the article states what they know about the disorder. Some of the key findings found
were Men out numbered females in autism and savant syndrome, and that Savant skills typically
occur in a narrow range of special abilities (Treffert, 2009). Such as math, art, mechanical or
spatial skills, and music were found to be in the top general categories in Savant syndrome.
Interestingly enough, savant skills characteristically continue, rather than disappear (Treffert,
2009), which aids in helping those with autism have an improvement in other areas of there life
such as social, daily living skills, and with there language skills. I feel this article and its scientific
findings definitely correlated with Raymond s character because he demonstrated remarkable
memory and one of his savant skill was his mathematical skills which was one of the highlights of
the movie and made the disorder of Savant Syndrome worldwide

Ludwig Van Beethoven As A Great Pianist And Composer
Ludwig van Beethoven was born December 17, 1770 in Germany. He died March 26, 1827.
Beethoven was know as a great pianist and composer. Because of the placement of his life span
he was able to be make music in the classical and romantic periods. He was an important
transitional composer between the two eras. Throughout his career he made several types of
compositions including symphonies, piano concertos, a violin concerto, piano sonatas, and
string quartets. Beethoven s music changed over his career to seek new audiences and embrace
new ideas. During his lifetime, Beethoven worked and created several music pieces. Beethoven
unfortunately found himself sick on few occasions and also eventually became deaf. Beethoven
became very sick in 1811 and 1812. He had to spend several weeks at a spa as it was
recommended by his doctor. In 1813 Beethoven had a rough emotional period. These events
resulted in a decrease in the amount of music that Beethoven created. Beethoven s output also
decreased from 1815 1817. The decreased was associated again with his deteriorated health among
other factors. His brother was sick and died in 1815. Beethoven also suffered from strict Austrian
policies. Beethoven s health constantly played a role in his amount of production. On top of the
time that Beethoven spent sick, he eventually lost hearing, becoming deaf. He had an accident
while working in 1798 and his hearing deteriorated from that point forward. Nonetheless even with

The Effect Of Genetic Diversity On Living Things Are The...
The main cause of genetic diversity in living things are the five processes of evolution. These five
processes genetic drift, gene flow, natural selection, speciation, and mutations all affect allele
frequencies within a population in different ways, thus, creating genetic diversity. Population
change is in direct relation to both genetic drift and gene flow. Genetic drift is defined as variation
in the relative frequency of different genotypes in a small population. This variation is caused by
two types of genetic drift also known as the Bottleneck effect and the Founders effect. A Bottleneck
effect is typically caused by a random event such as hunting or a natural disaster which can
significantly reduce a population. Although a population can gain back their original population
size after a Bottleneck effect, their genes have been permanently affected, resulting in much less
genetic variation than that of a population that was not affected by a Bottleneck effect. Examples of
genetic diversity due to a Bottleneck effect include the lack of genetic variation due to intense
hunting in the 1890 s within the Northern elephant seal population compared to the large Southern
elephant seal population. A Founders effect occurs when individuals from a large population
branch out and create a new colony. Due to the small population, the colony is more likely to have
less genetic variation from the original population. An example of a Founders effect is the presence
of Polydactyly

Case Analysis Of L And V Contractors, Llc V. Heritage...
Case Summary
In the case of L and V Contractors, LLC v. Heritage Warranty Insurance Risk Retention Group, Inc.,
et al the vehicle owner and plaintiff, Alejandro Leone sued AAMCO and Drive Train for fraudulent
and negligent misrepresentation and statutory theft. Claims were also bought against Heritage
Insurance. The charges against the aforementioned defendants stem for the interactions the plaintiff
had with each party.
The following events lead to the case against the defendants. In 2002, Leone purchased a van with
extended warranty through Heritage Insurance. Leone wanted his van repaired when the
transmission failed, and brought it to Crowley Chevrolet. Heritage Insurance refused to pay
Crowley Chevrolet repair rates, so the vehicle was brought to Drive Train in East Hartford.
Heritage Insurance authorized Drive Train to examine the vehicle, but then refused to pay the shop.
The vehicle remained there for about month before Leone received a letter from Drive Train
owner, Gary Gross stated Leone failed to respond and his vehicle remained in the shop. A lien
would be placed on the vehicle, and it will be sold at an auction. Leone would also have to pay
storage fees for each day the vehicle remained at the shop. A few days later Leone went to Drive
Train letting Gross know that he was trying to work out the payment with Heritage Insurance.
On March 2008, Leone received another letter stating his vehicle was to be auctioned. It should be
noted that all the letters he

Banning Written Texts Should Not Baned Books
Until recently, the trend of banning thousands of time honored books was routinely taking place
in public libraries and schools across the country. Presently, many censored books are prevailing
on library shelves and remaining in the hands of students. Without a doubt, banning a book
entirely deprives people of being able to think differently and learn about new topics. However,
censoring books is an exceptional way to allow those who are easily offended to read a written
work without raising an eyebrow. A person will still comprehend the idea of a censored text,
while not becoming insulted by it. Written texts should not be banned because people should be
able to choose for themselves what they wish to read, but written texts should be censored for
people who are sensitive and feel a text is too provocative or offensive for them.
Banning a written text is wrong and unacceptable for numerous reasons. Banning a text limits
people s point of view and keeps them in their comfort zone; people are able to choose for
themselves what they want to read. Limiting society s point of view is a crime; people will
forever be narrow minded and unable to form their own opinions, if this continues. For example, the
article Book Banning Endangers Majority Values, states, Conservative materials on the issue of
homosexuality are disappearing from the collection, or more often, never appearing in the first
place (Harvey). Many books directed from the conservative standpoint, which is

The Heightening of Airport Security after September 11th
Extraordinary challenges require extraordinary measures. The terrorist attacks on
America on September 11, 2001 required that we reform our nation s aviation security system in
fundamental ways. Three years after the Sept. 11 tragedies, how far has airport and airlines come? It
depends on the source. While it is important for airports to heighten security after the attacks of 9

Our current profiling system is based on a computer program that was developed several years ago.
Many people have begun submitting formal comments to the Privacy Office of the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security, urging it to stop airline passenger screening programs that are
administered by the Transportation Security Administration(TSA). These programs allow travel
authorities to access personal information about each passenger from government and commercial

individuals and tagging them as security risks. Some passengers have even been forbidden to board
planes (Street Beat). Travel authorities believe that this sensitive data will help identify potential

to new opportunities it would be new items, such as, floor and wall coverings, coasters, cork board

Billy Sunday Essay
Billy Sunday
For almost a quarter century Billy Sunday was a household name in the United States. Between
1902 when he first made the pages of the New York Times and 1935 when the paper covered his
death and memorial service in detail, people who knew anything about current events had heard of
the former major league baseball player who was preaching sin and salvation to large crowds all
over America. Not everyone who knew of the famous evangelist liked him. Plenty of outspoken
critics spoke of his flashy style and criticized his conservative doctrines. But he had hundreds of
thousands, perhaps millions, of loyal defenders, and they were just as loud in their praise as the
critics were in their criticism. Whether ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also studied Scripture and became unusually generous toward the needy.
Furthermore, Sunday was constrained by an obsession to tell others how he had finally found
inner peace and a more purposeful life. At first through lectures and then in sermons, he related
how Jesus Christ gave him a new life of meaning, peace, and hope. This same gospel, he said,
would similarly transform others. The evidence is overwhelmingly that it did.
If Billy Sunday was sincere devoted, and motivated, he was also a product of his times and an
example of the culture and morals of middle America. On the other hand, Sunday took many
stands against popular beliefs, and he persuaded multitudes to join him in a war against many of
the modernistic ideas of the time that he saw as evil. As he once summarized his opinion so well,
What this world needs is a tidal wave of reform (Sunday Satan 24).
It is true that Sunday was a showman who craved an audience and loved applause. But he also
touched the lives of countless men and women of all social classes, helping them escape various
forms of personal bondage and find freedom in the gospel. And if he did not convert all of urban
America to his brand of Christianity, he at least played a major role in helping to keep
conservative biblical Christianity alive in this century (Dorsett 3). To understand fully why he
thought, lived, preached, and teached the way he did, we should look at his

The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, is a book written about the punishment of bearing

The educational requirements needed to become a personal trainer are interesting. Many people

Goal Centered Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Theory And...
The aim of classroom management is to establish and maintain a positive, productive learning
environment that provides effective learning opportunities for its students. Therefore, it is crucial
for beginning teachers to understand the varying approaches to classroom management and their
theoretical underpinnings. Effective classroom managementis an essential skill for any new teacher,
unfortunately many teachers will adopt traditional or authoritarian approaches rather than
innovative evidence based strategies (Fry, 2007). Additionally, a teacher s beliefs, attitudes and
values will often determine their classroom management strategy (Lyons, Ford Slee, 2014) and
whether they adopt a single theory, a combination of elements across multiple theories or
continually adapt to their classroom environment. Here, three classroom management approaches
will be analysed; Goal Centered Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Theory and Assertive Discipline.
Goal Centered Theory (GCT) is a classroom management theory proposed by Rudolf Dreikurs, an
Austrian psychiatrist and student of psychoeducational theory (Lyons, Ford, Slee, 2014). GCT has
its underpinnings in Vygotsky s socio cultural theory, that students are influenced by their social
groups and desire to belong (Woolfolk Margetts, 2010). This desire to belong motivates behaviour,
often negatively, through four subsequent stages; gaining attention inappropriately, exercising
power, exacting revenge, and displaying inadequacy. Within

The Hunger Of Hunger And Malnutrition
Food security is said to be attained when all people are able to access enough safe and nutritious
food to meet their requirements for a healthy life. However, food security is challenged by various
factors across production and consumption. Food production, trade, the environmental impact of
agriculture, the threat of climate change, and the factors that affect food prices are all largely
global in nature there is no single solution that any one country can enact to ensure access to
affordable, sustainable, safe and nutritious food for all.
Many countries are facing the burden of hunger and undernutrition/malnutrition. Tackling hunger is
one of the greatest challenges of the times. Hunger is triggered by multiple dimensions and causes,

Climate change will only make things worse as elevated levels of CO2 reduce the nutritional
content of grains, tubers and legumes, affecting key nutrients such as zinc and iron. The estimated
impact of undernutrition on gross domestic product (GDP) is 11% every year more than the annual
economic downturn caused by the global financial crisis. A growing population means more mouths
to feed.

ANALYSIS:
About 2 billion of the global population of over 7 billion are food insecure because they fall short
of one or several of Food and Agriculture Organization s dimensions of food security. Enormous
geographic differences in the prevalence of hunger exist worldwide.
Globally, one in nine people in the world today (795 million) are undernourished. The clear
majority of the world s hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 per cent of the
population is undernourished. Asia is the continent with the most hungry people two thirds of the
total. The percentage in southern Asia has fallen in recent years but in western Asia it has increased
slightly. Southern Asia faces the greatest hunger burden, with about 281 million undernourished
people. In sub Saharan Africa, projections for the 2014 2016 period indicate a rate of
undernourishment of almost 23 per cent. Poor nutrition causes nearly half (45 per cent) of deaths in

The Controversial Theory Of Evolution
The controversial theory of evolution has been prevalent in the minds of scientists, religious
leaders, and those who follow since Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace first made the ideas
officially known in 1858. The theory they proposed was that the universe and all organisms within
it is constantly changing and adapting to the world around them since the beginning of time. Since
Darwin s and Wallace s theories were shared, there has been constant disagreement and debate
between the science world and the religious world regarding evolution. Some science and religious
advocates agree that there is the possibility of both the scientific and religious beliefs on how the
world came about co exiting. However, some religious groups, like... Show more content on

One of the many examples that support this idea that organisms evolve and change over time is the
finding of the Tiktaalik; though it is an unknown species it has traits that are similar to reptiles,
amphibians, and birds that exist today. Because of fossil findings like the Tiktaalik scientists no
longer have doubts about evolution and it s continuing occurrence (Alberto 2008).
In the 20th century, with the development of the science of genetics biologists began
understanding the mechanics of how traits are passed down to different generations and how they
are altered through the discovery of DNA and its major importance. They learned that parts of
DNA from each parent are passed down to the offspring. Mutations of DNA, which cause
alterations of species, can also occur when traits are being passed down to the offspring. Mutations
in DNA can cause the offspring to have difficulties surviving and eventually lead to the extinction
of the species. On the other hand, mutation of DNA can affect the offspring positively and change
its traits to be stronger and a better survivor in that certain environment which would eventually
lead to a growth in population of the certain species. Mutations in DNA can also be neutral and
have no effect of the offspring s traits. This battle with nature and survival through DNA lead to the
foundation of the idea of Natural Selection (Alberto 2008). Natural selection is survival of the fittest

Essay On Sentiment Classification
The aspect level sentiment analysis overcomes this problem and performs the sentiment
classification taking the particular aspect into consideration. There can be a situation where the
sentiment holder may express contrasting sentiments for the same product, object, organization etc
Techniques for sentiment analysis is generally partitioned as (1) machine learning approach, (2)
lexicon based approach and (3) combined approach (Meddhat et al., 2014a). There are two
approaches for the lexicon based approach. First one is the dictionarybased approach and the
second one is the corpus based approach that utilizes the factual or semantic strategy for discovering

Some combined rule algorithms were proposed in (Medhat et al., 2008a). Therefore, a study on
decision tree and decision rule problem is done by Quinlan (1986). Probabilistic Classifier
Probabilistic classifiers make the utilization of blend of models for classification. Every class is
considered to be a component of the mixed model. We have described various probabilistic
classifiers for sentiment analysis problem in the next subsection. 4.1.1.4.1 Naive Bayes Classifier
(NB). It is the frequently used classifier in sentiment analysis. In sentiment analysis, naive Bayes
classifier calculates the posterior probability of either positive class or negative class depending on
the sentiment words distributed over the document. The work of naГЇve Bayes classifier is based
on the Bag of word extraction of features in which the word s position is overlooked in the whole
text. This classifier uses the Bayes theorem. It calculates the probability for the sentiment word in a
document and tells whether that word belongs to the positive or negative class. The probability can
be calculated using the given formula. This assumption results in Bayesian Network. A Bayesian
network is a directed acyclic graph containing nodes and edges, where nodes denote the random
variables and the edges denote the conditional dependencies. It is a conditional exponential
classifier that takes the feature sets with label and converts them into

Finance Major Essay
The definition of finance is rather complex but Merriam Webster seems to provide the most
comprehensive explanation, stating, the management of revenues; the conduct or transaction of
money matters generally, especially those affecting the public, as in the fields of banking and
investment (Merriam Webster). The management of revenues is essentially the core of what
separates the jobs of finance majors, compared to other business related majors such as accounting
and economics. While accountants identify where the money comes from, the finance people
identify how to best use that money. While economic majors study how to grow the entire
economy of a country, finance majors study how to value a company. The reason behind my
decision to pursue a major in finance is because I want to study how to manage money in a
company and the role companies play in affecting the banking system. Also, I am convinced that
majoring in finance is one of the most effective and efficient ways in becoming a successful
entrepreneur. As a finance major, I can only study; as a successful entrepreneur, I will be equipped
with the resources to improve the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people. According to
Techtarget.com, Silicon Valley
continues to be one of the country s leading regions for high tech
innovation and development, accounting for about one third of all venture capital investment in the
United States (Rouse). Based on this statement, readers would think that the residents

government workers implemented by the US State Committee. The source that describes the reason
for their dismissal was a report on December 15, 1950 by the US State committee. Its assertion
against homosexuals hinges on the opinions of contemporary authorities such as doctors,
psychologist, law enforcement and various other specialists of human behavior. The consensus
created from these experts describes homosexualityas psychologically created, an emotional stunted
individual, and was curable but requires the effort of the homosexual individual. These views

Silent Tears Short Story
The Silent Tears
Have you ever being robbed? Being robbed is not about being brave, but being safe.
During the Christmas holiday season when I was 14, I woke up early on a beautiful Monday
morning trying to find my dad. My dad had a small business at the market place, and I wanted to
go to work with him that morning. I was in need of extra money for Christmas gifts. I was full of
energy, enthusiasm, confidence and a heart full of love and trust. When I finally found my dad
who was outside loading the car with the merchandise, I asked Dad can I go to work with you
today? I want to help you, so I can make some extra money for gifts. There was a long pause
before he said Are you sure you can handle it, remember it is Christmas time and people come
from all over the place to shop, and we will be very busy. I quickly replied Of course, I am good
with math, and how hard it could be to sell the famous chine melamine dishes? After all they sell
own its own. Well my father continues Let s take your sister to help you too.
On our way to the Market my dad said I will help you girls to set up and I need to head out to
storage to get more merchandise Before he left he reminded us of the prices of all the items we
will be selling in our little store. While we waited for my father to return, we practiced our math
so we will be right on with the money. As the time passed my sister and I became better at the
small addition and subtraction equations we were practicing. We felt more and more confident
so we began to sell more and more. As this beautiful Monday morning continued things took a
turn for the worst. A pregnant women approached us and bought more than 100 dollars of item.
She had asked me to help her with her bags, the woman had told me that she was incapable of
lifting heavy things. Once we got to her house she had promised me that she should pay and tip
me. As the nice 14 year old I was I thought that this would be a win win situation. As we began the
short walk to her house, she began to compliment me and out nice conversation had allowed for
me to build a trust with the unknown woman, and did not suspect anything would go wrong. Once

J.R.R. Tolkien is often the first name that comes to mind when one thinks of popular fantasy
writers. Writing stories ever since he was a young child, he had always experimented with
language and the creation of his own little world. J.R.R. Tolkien s masterpiece, The Lord of the
Rings, has greatly influenced the fantasy genre and set an example for fantasy writers around the
world. John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born to Arthur and Mabel Tolkien in 1892 in the Orange
Free State, located in South Africa. When he was three years old, his mother took him and his
younger brother Hilary to England to visit their maternal grandparents in Birmingham. Arthur died
of rheumatic fever within the following year, however, so they never returned to... Show more

As a second lieutenant he was eventually stationed in Bouzincourt, a village located in France.
He was highly unaccustomed to the battlefield; he did not expect the dangers that he would face
every which way he turned. He suffered from trench fever and was shipped home to recover at
one point, though he never fully recovered until the war ended in 1918 (D. Rogers, I. Rogers,
21). After the war ended, Tolkien and his family settled in Oxford, where he found a job
working on the Oxford English Dictionary. He also met new friends such as C.S. Lewis, Hugo
Dyson, and Charles Williams. They formed a group called The Inklings where they would come
together and discuss literary works, including their own. Tolkien had begun writing The Hobbit,
pieces of which he would read aloud to his group of friends who very much enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, finishing the children s book with haste was not on the top of Tolkien s priority
list. The book was finally published by Allen and Unwin in 1937 and eventually enjoyed not
only by children, but by the general public as well (D. Rogers, I. Rogers, 22 23). Tolkien wrote a
number of stories after The Hobbit, but many were incomplete; very few works were published.
Everyone wanted to hear more about the curious hobbits. His fellow Inklings encouraged him to
keep writing, but the process was slow going, especially as he found more and more to write about.

Totalitarian Methods Of Domination
Arendt explained that totalitarian methods of domination are uniquely suited to programmes of
mass extermination such as the massacring of Jewish citizens in Germany by the Nazis (Arendt,
1979, p. 440). However, Anthony Court expands on Arendt s theory of totalitarianism by stating
that previous regimes of terror, does not simply aim to extinguish physical life but rather total
terror is preceded by the obliteration of civil and political rights as well as exclusion from the
public sphere, the confiscation of property and lastly the deportation and murder of entire extended
families and their surrounding communities (Court, 2008, p. 102). This definition is clearly seen
throughout history whether it be associated with World War II, Stalinism, ISIS, Al Qaeda or the
frequent riots occurring in western societies such as the Oakland 2009 riots, London 2011 riots or
the Ferguson 2014/15 riots with each riot strongly associated with racial tension and unrest. Each of
these events have different levels of totalitarianismbut show that society does not learn from past
events. Arendt explains that totalitarianism is formed when governments have emerged as a result
of the institutionalisation of terror and violence (D Entreves, 2014). However since Stalinism and
Nazism there has not been a period of time where terror or violence has been extinguished, whether
it be state racism, nationalism or terrorism global society has not transitioned away from
totalitarianism. Arendt

Bill Gates and Nolan Bushnell
Pioneers of Computer Programming
When you think of 21st century computing, two things come to mind: Windows and video games.
Learning Team A introduces you to the two men responsible for these phenomena В– Bill Gates
and Nolan Bushnell.
William Henry Gates III
During that late 1960 s and early 1970 s, BASIC was one of the premier programming languages.
At that time, Bill Gates and his friend Paul Allen made the commitment to learn BASIC by reading
the user manuals. In exchange for computer time, they made an agreement with a local company
called the Computer Center Corporation to provide de bugging services for software on the
company s DEC machine. This time was used not only to search for errors, but also to study the

After seeing the magazine article, Gates contacted Ed Roberts of the MITS Company and
proposed to that he write some BASIC software for the Altair. The MITS personnel were
impressed with the initial work that Gates and his friends had completed and decided to meet with
them to test the team s code. After a successful demonstration of the code, Gates made the decision
to leave school and move to Albuquerque and work with MITS on the Altair.
After the move Gates would devote his energies to Microsoft, a company that he would establish in
1975 with Allen. Guided by a belief that the computer would be a valuable tool on every office
desktop and in every home, they began developing software for personal computers. Microsoft
would sell its BASIC system to MITS, NCR and Intel. It proved to be more cost effective for
companies to buy Microsoft software rather than spend the time and money to develop their own.
In January of 1979, Gates made the decision to move Microsoft to Seattle, Washington. Gates
believed that part of the country was better suited for recruiting programmers. Microsoft adopted a
new standard for hiring employees; the company decided to hire only the most gifted and
intelligent new college graduates rather than experienced programmers. The company was looking
for talent that came with no previous programming biases. The expansions of personnel would lead
to the development of a

Would You Rather be a Fast Learner or be Naturally Gifted at Something? There once was a

since you started is incredible. Being a fast learner is a great quality for people and can be used
in more fun ways than being naturally gifeted at something. Though, even if you can get good at

be great at what the manager is looking for in an employee. That would mean you are probly a

Birth Control Is A Powerful Tool
Birth control is a powerful tool. It gives women the power to choose when they are ready to have
a baby, with whom they wish to have it with, and how many children to limit the family to. In the
past, women had no control over childbearing due to many restrictions. With Margaret Sanger s
efforts, birth control awareness became accepted by the people and the legal system, changing the
lives of countless women in their fight towards equal opportunity. She changed the way that
childbearing was viewed in America and paved a road that led to gender equality.

This impacted Sanger s life to such a great extent that it put her on the path to becoming a birth
control advocate, fighting for the rights of women.
Margaret Sanger developed an interest in birth control advocacy through her involvement in the
movement for women s rights, dedicating her life in support of contraceptive awareness. In the
early 1900s, women began advocating for greater access to contraception and birth control
information, both to increase women s independence and to decrease unwanted pregnancies and
illegal abortions ( State Abortion Laws ). Sanger joined the movement, becoming a member of
many female rights organizations. As a member of the Socialist Party and a woman s labor
organizer, Sanger met [influential] leader such as Eugene V. Debs, Emma Goldman, and Bill
Haywood of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) . As a result of influence from Goldman
and other radical women, Sanger became convinced that married women could never become equal
without being able to control childbearing (McPherson and Gertle).
The popular women s rights movement of the 1960s and 1970s emphasized reproductive rights as
an essential component of women s liberation that would lead to gender equality. Feminists argued
that only once a woman can control her reproductive lives can she fully participate in society as

  • 2. What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Gota... These theories have been used by Nissan to improve their productivity. However JIT and Lean Combined together makes Toyota Production System. For more clarity I am discussing each theory individually first is JIT is a continuous process and it forces problem by reduced inventory. With this theory only material are called when they are needed according to the demand. The JIT is also broken down in to five segments which are JIT Partnerships which exist when a supplier and a purchaser work together with open communication and a target of removing waste and lowering down the cost. The second is JIT layouts which is designed to reduce the movements. JIT materials layout place material directly where they are needed. The third is JIT inventory which works to overcome any hurdle if arises in the way. The fourth is JIT scheduling where effective schedules are communicated both within the organization and to outside suppliers. By being able to utilize these methods Nissan would able to overhaul their process and work to create a JIT environment to utilize all methods and start saving tremendous amount of overhead and expenditures. Like other theories there are some advantages and disadvantages of JIT. Advantages include efficient replenishment systems, more free space, less manpower required to maintain the inventory levels. The disadvantages are Vulnerable to any demand fluctuation caused by reason i.e. natural disaster, dependency on their supplier is high because of the timely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, And Nucleic Acids There are four types of biomolecules, carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. Carbohydrates are large chains of sugar found in food and living tissues. This includes sugars, starch, and cellulose. They have the same ratio of hydrogen and oxygen that water has, 2:1. They are broken down to release energy in the animal body. Lipids are any organic compounds that are fatty acids and don t dissolve in water but do in organic solvents. Fatty acids can be found in natural oils, waxes, and steroids. Proteins are macromolecules that do everything in the cell. They are tools and machines that make things happen. Nucleic acids are long strands of nucleotides, and function primarily in storage and transmission of genetic information. There are two types of nucleic acids, DNA and RNA. DNA is the genetic material of all cellular organisms, and RNA sends out messages from the information that is held in the DNA. These four biomolecules are metabolized by the animal body. Each biomolecule is broken down in a different process. The end result of each process is the creation of usable energy for the body. This energy is used to work and generate other chemical reactions that help the body move and think. Carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids each provide energy to different places within the body that, in turn, stimulate other chemical reactions to occur, creating a chain reaction of chemical reactions throughout the body. The metabolization of these major ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It has been estimated that 32,000 homeless youth do not attend college due to their lack of academic foundation and inability to attain accessible resources and or information to make college a viable option (Leibson 138 141). A study done by Hannah Leibson, a writer for Child Law Practice, went to explore what kind of research had already been previously done in terms of college enrollment and completion, what challenges were identified that potentially hinder the ability of homeless youth to pursue college, and programs pre established that impede on the youth s accessibility to financial aid (138 141). • 5. Donald Trump And Race Relations With Donald Trump s ascension to the presidency months ago, he inherited a nation divided on many issues, including race relations. Thus, a question is raised: How has President Trump worked to address the issue of race relations in the United States? He has promised to do everything he could to help race relations improve and unify the country, as demonstrated by the quote: Today and every day of my presidency I pledge to do everything I can to continue that promise of freedom for African Americans and for every American...We re going to bring this country together (Cottman, 2017). Unfortunately, it does not seem likely that race relations will improve so as long as Trump remains president. The facts below will prove that Trump has worsened race relations in America, and deepened the justifiable fear of division which many Americans feel. Such a conclusion can be clearly made through the observation of his past and present conduct. Trump promised on the campaign trail to dramatically improve the lives of African Americans, saying Every African Americancitizen in this country is entitled to a government that puts their jobs, wages and security first. ... Here is the promise that I make to you: Whether you vote for me or not, I will be your greatest champion (Swerdlick, 2017). Though Trump seems sincere in the quote, how is his relationship with African Americans? Notwithstanding his claim to have a great relationship with the blacks (Westover, 2016), Trump s past record ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Of course, I know that creating something from nothing is a fictional term but when you decide to immerse yourself in a programming scheme, bridging the gap between software and hardware, something truly magical happens. All that is needed is a single idea, no matter how absurd it is and a text editor. • 8. Brief History Of Time By Stephen Hawking For the second semester book report I chose to read A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. Before I started reading I knew what I signed up for. A lot of math, science and complicated stuff that sometimes makes my head hurt. Nonetheless A Brief History of Time is about the history of science, history of how the universe began and how the journey of finding the theory for everything has been going. He talks about some of the theories that may help with finding the theory like the black hole theory, general relativity, quantum mechanics, imaginary time, string theory and many more. He also mentions the belief that people have that god created the universe, that God created everything. The book starts with Stephen Hawking talking about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A Greek astronomer named Ptolemy agreed with Aristotle theory and made a model that provided a decent accurate system for predicting the places where heavenly bodies in the sky were located. His model was accepted and adopted generally. But then a simpler model made by a Polish priest, Nicholas Copernicus was suggested. His idea was that the sun was still at the center and that the earth and the planets moved in circular orbits around the sun. Two astronomers took this idea seriously Johannes Kepler and Galileo Galilei and they started publicly supporting the Copernican theory. The death of the Aristotelian/Ptolemaic theory came in 1609 when Galileo started to look at the sky with a telescope. When he looked at Jupiter he saw that it was by a lot of small satellites or moon that orbited around it. Johannes then changed Copernicus s theory a bit by suggesting that the planets move in ellipses instead of circles. An explanation came when Isaac Newton published his Philosophiae Naturalis Principia mathematica in 1687. In it he provided a theory of how bodies move in space and time. He also made the complicated mathematics needed to analyze those motions. Then questions were raised like whether the universe had a beginning in time and whether it is limited in space. Edwin Hubble in 1929 made an observation that the galaxies are moving rapidly away from us like the universe is expanding. Then he thought that the universe was really close ... However, even during a normal winter, you can expect average temperatures that are below freezing for three months out of the year and snowfall totals ranging between 44 inches and 55 inches. • 11. Twelve Angry Men Essay Twelve Angry Men is a very interesting play about an unfortunate young man, who was convicted of killing his dad. The worst part was, the young man was only nineteen, and his life was just starting. The jurors listened to all the evidence, then came the hard part, making the decision: guilty, or innocent. Eleven jurors said guilty and only one said innocent. There was a lot of peer pressure involved. I decided to write about different peer pressures three of the jurors used. The three jurors I picked are juror #10, juror #7, and juror #8.The first juror I want to write about is #10. One example of #7 using sarcasm would be this quote: quot; Why don t we have them run the trial over... quot; I think this quote clearly shows that juror #7 is trying to convince other jurors, that court s evidence proves the young man is guilty without reasonable doubt. Also to break #8 s spirit he used name calling, another kind of peer pressure. I believe this is a very good example: quot; The boy is guilty pal, like the nose on your face. quot; The third and last juror I picked was #8, he was not using sarcasm, nor was he muscle flexing, he was using reasonable argument, which helped him convince all the jurors that the young man was innocent. He did not try to convince anybody by screaming at him, on the contrary he tried to go over all the evidence, and he was using intelligent thinking, like trying to calculate exact times, and figure out the correct position of the switch blade in the chest of the father. He was also trying to recreate a situation to see if indeed one of the witnesses on the stand was lying. However, Discrimination, for the purpose of employment law, is any workplace action such as hiring, firing, demoting, and promoting, based on a prejudice of some kind, that results in the unfair treatment of employees (Ali, Yamada, Mahmood, 2015). With some distinguished exceptions, such as affirmative action, discriminationis strictly prohibited by numerous federal laws (Ali, Yamada, Mahmood, 2015). Nonetheless, there are three important laws that regulate discrimination in employment and they are: Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, and Americans with Disabilities Act. Next, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), protects certain applicants and employees 40 years of age and older from discrimination on the basis of age in hiring, promotion, discharge, compensation, or terms, conditions or privileges of employment. The ADEA is enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In enacting the ADEA, Congress purpose was to promote employment of older persons based on their ability rather than age; to prohibit arbitrary age discrimination in employment; and to help employers and workers find ways of meeting problems arising from the impact of age on employment (Lewis, 2013, p. 272). Yet, when it comes to making decisions about employees, the ADEA applies to all employers with twenty or more employees, including federal, state, and local governments, and prohibits discrimination against a person over the age of forty, because of his or her age with respect to any term, condition, or privilege of employment, including hiring, firing, promoting, laying off, compensation, benefits, job assignments, and training (Lewis, 2012, p. 273). Outcome 1 Understand person centred approaches for care and support. 1.1 Define Person centred values. Person centred values means the people whom we support are treated as equals and are involved in all aspects and areas of their care and that they are respected and valued as individuals. This means being involved in their assessments, care delivery and support planning, basically person centred values is making sure all approaches, policies and procedures and care practices put the residents at the centre of the day to day activities. The development of a support plan is the perfect example of how person centred working operates. Instead offering people a choice of what is currently available and finding what best fits their needs, person centred working looks at someone s needs and built the support package around them. One of the important aspects of person centred planning is to look at what people are able to do for themselves and to ensure that services are not taking over aspects of a person s life that they could perfectly well manage without support. Outcome 3 Understand the importance of establishing consent when providing care or support. 3.1 Define the word consent Consent is the informed agreement to an action and/or decision. Permission for something to happen or agreement to do something. 3.2 Explain the importance of gaining consent when providing care or support. When working with an individual it is important to uphold their rights to be fully involved in their own care, whilst adhering to legal requirements. It is also the individuals right to refuse any care, support or treatment they do not want. It is also essential that people not only give you their consent but also that they understand what they are consenting to and the implications of this. • 17. Investigating The Coefficient Of Thermal Conductivity For... Lab Report Module Name: Mechanical Principles (ENGD1005) Experiment Name: Thermal Conductivity Student P number: P14177341 Lab Tutor : Dr Rick Greenough Date: 26/11/2014 Objectives of the experiment: The objective of the experiment was to measure and determine the coefficient of thermal conductivity for copper and stainless steel. Background: Thermal conduction is the transfer of heat energy in a material due to the temperature gradient. It always takes place from a region of high temperature to a region of low temperature. Heat transfers at a higher rate across materials that have high thermal conductivity than across materials with low thermal conductivity. Thermal conductivity is temperature dependant. Apparatus: Thermocouple potentiometer Cussons thermal conductivity apparatus. Whenever I looked at the picture for the first time I thought about many things. I saw that the Boston people were forcing the tea down his throat. Also, I noticed that the guy on the right of the man being tarred and feathered had him on a leash or rope of some kind and he was holding a stick. Since he was being tarred and feathered, I will assume it was a British official. In the background I saw the sailors on the ship dumping the tea, which would be the Boston Tea Party. Another interesting thing that I saw was a rope on the Liberty Tree with a document on the tree. The document was of the Stamp Act upside down. The Liberty Tree was a place where they would ridicule people. I looked up more information about the Liberty Tree and that is what I had found. The British officials would take people there to tar them and feather them. The significance of a noose next to the term Liberty Tree is pretty ironic. • 30. The Effect Of Genetic Diversity On Living Things Are The... The main cause of genetic diversity in living things are the five processes of evolution. These five processes genetic drift, gene flow, natural selection, speciation, and mutations all affect allele frequencies within a population in different ways, thus, creating genetic diversity. Population change is in direct relation to both genetic drift and gene flow. Genetic drift is defined as variation in the relative frequency of different genotypes in a small population. This variation is caused by two types of genetic drift also known as the Bottleneck effect and the Founders effect. A Bottleneck effect is typically caused by a random event such as hunting or a natural disaster which can significantly reduce a population. Although a population can gain back their original population size after a Bottleneck effect, their genes have been permanently affected, resulting in much less genetic variation than that of a population that was not affected by a Bottleneck effect. Examples of genetic diversity due to a Bottleneck effect include the lack of genetic variation due to intense hunting in the 1890 s within the Northern elephant seal population compared to the large Southern elephant seal population. A Founders effect occurs when individuals from a large population branch out and create a new colony. Due to the small population, the colony is more likely to have less genetic variation from the original population. An example of a Founders effect is the presence of Polydactyly ... Banning Written Texts Should Not Baned Books Until recently, the trend of banning thousands of time honored books was routinely taking place in public libraries and schools across the country. Presently, many censored books are prevailing on library shelves and remaining in the hands of students. Without a doubt, banning a book entirely deprives people of being able to think differently and learn about new topics. However, censoring books is an exceptional way to allow those who are easily offended to read a written work without raising an eyebrow. A person will still comprehend the idea of a censored text, while not becoming insulted by it. • 38. Billy Sunday Essay Billy Sunday For almost a quarter century Billy Sunday was a household name in the United States. Between 1902 when he first made the pages of the New York Times and 1935 when the paper covered his death and memorial service in detail, people who knew anything about current events had heard of the former major league baseball player who was preaching sin and salvation to large crowds all over America. Not everyone who knew of the famous evangelist liked him. Plenty of outspoken critics spoke of his flashy style and criticized his conservative doctrines. But he had hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of loyal defenders, and they were just as loud in their praise as the critics were in their criticism. Whether ... Furthermore, Sunday was constrained by an obsession to tell others how he had finally found inner peace and a more purposeful life. At first through lectures and then in sermons, he related how Jesus Christ gave him a new life of meaning, peace, and hope. This same gospel, he said, would similarly transform others. The evidence is overwhelmingly that it did. If Billy Sunday was sincere devoted, and motivated, he was also a product of his times and an example of the culture and morals of middle America. On the other hand, Sunday took many stands against popular beliefs, and he persuaded multitudes to join him in a war against many of the modernistic ideas of the time that he saw as evil. As he once summarized his opinion so well, What this world needs is a tidal wave of reform (Sunday Satan 24). It is true that Sunday was a showman who craved an audience and loved applause. But he also touched the lives of countless men and women of all social classes, helping them escape various forms of personal bondage and find freedom in the gospel. And if he did not convert all of urban America to his brand of Christianity, he at least played a major role in helping to keep conservative biblical Christianity alive in this century (Dorsett 3). This features the leading character, Hester Prynne, letting the reader see her as a symbol of courage and how the effect of a single letter can have on one s life. Hester Prynne and her lover have too many problems in the result of the letter, with one, of course, being the vengeful pursuit of her husband, Roger Chillingworth. Hester s betrayal sparks Chillingworth s nature as the antagonists in the story, with his desire for revenge and his self inflicted moral deterioration. His torment of the already weak Reverend shows his twisted mentality and lack of human remorse, which eventually is the downfall of Arthur Dimmesdale and the doctor himself. Chillingworth s actions towards the Reverend is revealed when his true colors are exposed by the light given off of the meteor. The aim of classroom management is to establish and maintain a positive, productive learning environment that provides effective learning opportunities for its students. Therefore, it is crucial for beginning teachers to understand the varying approaches to classroom management and their theoretical underpinnings. Effective classroom managementis an essential skill for any new teacher, unfortunately many teachers will adopt traditional or authoritarian approaches rather than innovative evidence based strategies (Fry, 2007). Additionally, a teacher s beliefs, attitudes and values will often determine their classroom management strategy (Lyons, Ford Slee, 2014) and whether they adopt a single theory, a combination of elements across multiple theories or continually adapt to their classroom environment. Here, three classroom management approaches will be analysed; Goal Centered Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Theory and Assertive Discipline. Goal Centered Theory (GCT) is a classroom management theory proposed by Rudolf Dreikurs, an Austrian psychiatrist and student of psychoeducational theory (Lyons, Ford, Slee, 2014). GCT has its underpinnings in Vygotsky s socio cultural theory, that students are influenced by their social groups and desire to belong (Woolfolk Margetts, 2010). This desire to belong motivates behaviour, often negatively, through four subsequent stages; gaining attention inappropriately, exercising power, exacting revenge, and displaying inadequacy. Since Darwin s and Wallace s theories were shared, there has been constant disagreement and debate between the science world and the religious world regarding evolution. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the many examples that support this idea that organisms evolve and change over time is the finding of the Tiktaalik; though it is an unknown species it has traits that are similar to reptiles, amphibians, and birds that exist today. Because of fossil findings like the Tiktaalik scientists no longer have doubts about evolution and it s continuing occurrence (Alberto 2008). In the 20th century, with the development of the science of genetics biologists began understanding the mechanics of how traits are passed down to different generations and how they are altered through the discovery of DNA and its major importance. They learned that parts of DNA from each parent are passed down to the offspring. Mutations of DNA, which cause alterations of species, can also occur when traits are being passed down to the offspring. Mutations in DNA can cause the offspring to have difficulties surviving and eventually lead to the extinction of the species. On the other hand, mutation of DNA can affect the offspring positively and change its traits to be stronger and a better survivor in that certain environment which would eventually lead to a growth in population of the certain species. Mutations in DNA can also be neutral and have no effect of the offspring s traits. This battle with nature and survival through DNA lead to the foundation of the idea of Natural Selection (Alberto 2008). Natural selection is survival of the fittest , the ... Totalitarian Methods Of Domination Arendt explained that totalitarian methods of domination are uniquely suited to programmes of mass extermination such as the massacring of Jewish citizens in Germany by the Nazis (Arendt, 1979, p. 440). However, Anthony Court expands on Arendt s theory of totalitarianism by stating that previous regimes of terror, does not simply aim to extinguish physical life but rather total terror is preceded by the obliteration of civil and political rights as well as exclusion from the public sphere, the confiscation of property and lastly the deportation and murder of entire extended families and their surrounding communities (Court, 2008, p. 102). This definition is clearly seen throughout history whether it be associated with World War II, Stalinism, ISIS, Al Qaeda or the frequent riots occurring in western societies such as the Oakland 2009 riots, London 2011 riots or the Ferguson 2014/15 riots with each riot strongly associated with racial tension and unrest.
