Sarbanes Oxley Act And Its Effect On Market Liquidity
Market liquidity proves to be important to both investors and sellers worldwide. Liquidity refers to the
relationship between the speed of the sale, and the price of the sale. Liquid markets have buyer ask
prices relatively similar to seller ask prices, making this a preferable situation for both the investor and
the seller (Abella, 2016). The Sarbanes Oxley Act in 2002 incentivized institutions to keep more
accurate and attainable records of business. The Act being based off of the fraudulent activity of
several high profile companies (eg. Enron), was put in place to better monitor and record a companies
transactions, improve management style, and promote ethically responsible behavior in the workplace
(Keneth, 2015). Our main purpose is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each measurement was calculated from TAQ data. Both Table 1 and Table 2 represent 1%, 5%, and
10% significance levels with ***,**, and * respectively. As represented in table 2, researchers were
able to determine SOX had a significant impact in the long term (90+ days). While quoted spread and
share depth show little change immediately after SOX, both measures improve as time passes. This
supports the conclusion that markets actually improved as time passed with respect to liquidity. After
270 days of SOX implementation, share depth (the volume of pending orders) improved by 1060
shares, and adverse selection component of spreads was lowered by 1.1 cents.
In addition, table 1 details the results of the model ∆Quoted spread or ∆Effective spread = β0 + β1
∆(TACC/TA) + β2 ∆(1/Price) + β3 ∆Return volatility + β4 ∆Log(Dollar trading volume) + β5
∆Log(Market value of equity) + ε created by the same researchers who formed table 2. The effective
spread is the average effective percentage spread at time t while quoted spread is the average quoted
spread at time t. The change is calculated from subtracting pre SOX averages from post SOX
averages. Data was sampled from 588 firms over three years (from January 1, 2001 to December 31,
2004). The main significant variable is the change in volatility. This variable shows a statistically
significant change at the 1% level. After the passage of SOX, market

Essay on Community Oriented Policing (COP)
Introduction The police are usually charged with the great responsibility of ensuring that citizens are
living quality lives that are free of crime and fear. In order to perform this duty effectively, the police
need accurate and deeper knowledge of the citizens and issues they encounter in their daily lives. This
knowledge will not be easy to come by if the police work independently from the citizens. Over the
last several decades, police agencies have been working to gain the respect and the cooperation of the
communities they serve. Community Oriented Policing was introduced to bring a closer working
relationship between the citizens and the police.

Through this cooperation, it is possible to modify the environments that promote criminal behaviors.
The concept of COP is almost similar to that of Problem Oriented Policing (POP) apart from a few
differences. POP is a concept that involves critically examining pieces of community issues with the
aim of learning something new from the problem identified that will lead to more effective strategies
for dealing with crime (Zarka, 2007). POP is designed to identify and eliminate causes of reoccurring
crime and disorder that harm the community. Just like COP, the main goals of POP are to reduce crime
and maintain social order. POP replaces the traditional incident driven policing strategies and,
therefore, gave rise to the concept of Community policing (Reno Police Department, 1992).
COP and POP designs involve a more open relationship between the citizens and the police with the
aim of giving the police a more proactive role in community issues (Mirsky, 2009). Under community
policing, police are empowered to engage citizens in providing solutions to community s problems.
COP involves tactics such as foot and bike patrol, mini stations, and beat meetings among many
others. It also entails changes in police and community structures among a few other external changes.
These may include formation of community squad division and geographical organization.
COP and POP recognize that crime may be associated to micro social

Essay On American Refugees
The United States has been a refuge for many people from other countries since the early 1900 s.
Many Americans do not know the difference between a refugee, an asylum seeker, and an immigrant.
Over the years, different associations, agencies, official acts and laws have come into existence to
limit who can be awarded the title of refugee. Rules and regulations have become the most confusing
part of coming to the United States if a person is seeking refuge. This paper will explore the history of
the American refugee and the laws, regulations, and associations that aide or hinder their status.
What is the Difference between a Refugee, and Asylum Seeker, and an Immigrant?
In the United States, a refugee is defined as a person that is outside of the United States and is seeking
refuge from persecution based on their race, nationality, religious beliefs, social group or political
opinion. Refugees can be excluded from being awarded refugee status for polygamy, health related
issues, moral and criminal and security grounds. They could also be excluded for misrepresentation of
facts on visa applications, smuggling and previous deportations. A person seeking asylum, is a person
that has already entered the United States by using a visa or illegally entering and is seeking the same

He also determines from which country they can be from. Currently, the Immigration and
Naturalization Act (INA) governs our current immigration policy and provides a limit of 675,000
permanent immigrants, with special exceptions for close family members. Immigration and refugee
status is based upon whether it is possible to reunite a family, whether the immigrant or refugee has a
special skill that would be valuable to the United States economy, protection for the refugee, and

Christian Boltanski s Contemporary Art
Contemporary Art Today s modern artists are beginning to explore current issues in our society by
offering an original perspective. These artists use dynamic new media and techniques to demonstrate
their themes. The currency of contemporary art challenges what was before and hints that there is
more to come. (Australian Government, 2015). Contemporary artists are able to successfully examine
the past and present whilst also envisioning the future. Their fresh ideas help to engage audiences and
teach them to reconsideration the familiar. Three artists in particular, Fiona Hall, Christian Boltanski
and Michael Parekowhai, are able to effectively explore their contemporary topics from a unique
outlook. Hall s Paradisus Terestris offers insight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mindset For Me Research Paper
There are three fundamental rules that come to mind in certain situations and mindsets. The rules are
simple always keep your priorities in order, keep focus, and keep the right relations. This is honestly a
building block for success and happiness in my life. My personal success of being spiritually healthy
and surrounding myself with positive relationships. My mindset comes from going to yoga, long
walks, and welcoming religion into my life. Along with having family and friends that constantly
encourage me to be happy. However, for a person with high anxiety it s hard to continuously not
overwhelm myself by over thinking or putting my health and body aside. Whether it s forgetting to eat
or even lacking sleep which I know is bad for me. If there was three things I could change about
myself that related to health and wellness is to become more self reliant, accept my best and stop
waiting for perfection. I tend to rely on other to make decisions for me or atleast make them easier. At
time I tend to look for perfection which tends to cause my overthinking because I can t accept
anything less than greatest. As for professional success, I go out of my way to create opportunities for
myself. Just starting a new job I m able to network with other businesses and get closer to my

Boy s Murders In The Film Paradise Lost
The film Paradise Lost documents the case of the deaths of three West Memphis children, as three
teenage boys are put on trial for the speculation of their murders. Jessie Misskelley Jr., Damien
Echols, and Jason Baldwin are the suspects in question. The three second grade boys were found to
have been choked, raped, and sexually mutilated before their murders. Sources in West Memphis
report that Misskelley, Echols, and Baldwin are worshippers of Satan and the murders were committed
as a ritual act to praise Satan. West Memphis is a highly religious town, and the majority of its
members attend church regularly and live their daily lives according to Christian values. At the end of
the trial Misskelley, Echols, and Baldwin were all found guilty ... Show more content on

Members of the community thought the boys to being worshippers of Satan because of their apparent
taste for wearing black and listening to heavy suggestive music like Metallica. In this community that
was noted to be outlier behavior, since the majority of the members lived conservative, Christian
lifestyles. Since the teenagers expressed different interests than the majority of the community they
were an easy pick for the suspects of the killings. Even Damien Echols stated that they were the
obvious choice, because they already stood out from the rest. The minority attacking the majority is
called a centripetal attack. This upward attack is directed from the margins to the center meaning the
minority attack is directed towards the majority. This attracts centrifugal law which works against the
minority attackers. Centrifugal law is greater than the opposite, centripetal law, so it is considered
more serious for the margin to commit crimes against the socially integrated. This goes along with the
idea that the unconventionality of the boys allowed them to be targets and therefore subject to more
law against them. The lifestyle of these boys was seen as unconventional considering the environment
where they lived. As mentioned before, the people of West Memphis are God loving people who put
faith above all else in their daily lives. The way these

The Kentucky Derby Is Decadent And Deprave Analysis
When New Orleans rhythm and blues musician James Booker recorded his hit single Gonzo in 1960,
he most likely had no idea that the title of his single would be used, almost a decade after its release,
to refer to the unabashedly radical style of journalism that Hunter S. Thompson with his illustrator
Ralph Steadman happened to invent with their breakthrough article The Kentucky Derby is decadent
and depraved . It s exactly how it sounds. The annual Kentucky Derby Festival, known in the United
States as The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports was being covered by Thompson and he fixated
least on the details of the actual race and wrote primarily about the debauched festivities and depravity
that the attendees indulged in through the festival ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A style of journalism that does away with the oppression of objectivity that traditional journalism
demands and in the process raises the question of whether any piece of reporting can ever be truly
objective. Whenever the name of Hunter Thompson is evoked the focus automatically falls on the
drugs, the guns, the constant and diverse forms of substance abuse [and Johnny Depp] but should we
choose to swim through the psychedelic haze that surrounds Thompson we find a spirited, innovative
writer whose accounts of his times with the outlawed Hell s Angels or Richard Nixon is compelling
because of his vivid prose more than anything else. As he once famously declared in an interview
Objective Journalism is one of the main reasons American Politics has been corrupt for so long. You
can t be objective about Nixon. In the 1950s and 60s America, a silent alteration engulfed a generation
of young reporters and writers which came to be known as New Journalism. Journalism that blended
fiction with fact and had the likes of Norman Mailer and Truman Capote committed to its style.
Norman Mailer once declared that he felt that (he) had some dim intuitive feeling that what was wrong
with all journalism is that the reporter tended to be objective and that that was one of the great lies of

Investigating the Effect of Lipase Concentration on the Breakdown of Fat in Milk
INTRODUCTION:
Enzymes are proteins which can catalyse chemical reactions without changing themselves. The
enzyme lipase breaks down the fat in dairy products such as full cream milk for people who are
lactose intolerant. Lipase acts on its specific substrate, lipids produces fatty acids. If enzyme
concentration increases, random collisions between the substrates and active sites of enzyme increase
due to the increasing amount of active sites which allow more collisions to happen, so the rate of
breakdown of lipids to simpler substances will increase. During the experiment, sodium carbonate
solution and pH indicator phenolphthalein will be added ahead of ... Show more content on

laboratory with the windows shut to make sure the temperature will not change during the tests. The
higher the temperature, the shorter the time will be needed for the chemical reactions to happen and
phenolphthalein to turn from pink to colourless.

1. The time for the phenolphthalein to turn from pink to colourless will be taken using the stopwatch.
METHOD:
* The apparatus was collected; * The beakers labelled; Solutions of lipase respectively at

Family Farm Research Paper
In this essay I m going to write about how different markets in the world are linked together. I am
going to talk about how in my life different markets are related on our family farm. In the farming
business and agriculture field in general, there is so many markets that can be linked in so many ways
it is crazy. The process is literally endless with buying, selling, feeding, caring for, protecting and
many others. I m just going to start off with the raising animal s aspect. We raise beef cows and calves,
pigs and run a steer finishing lot. The beginning process with the animals is actually buying them to
start your business. You could buy the cows at the local cattle auction and raise them to become your
own. In the process of raising these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now you been raising these animals for the last 12 15 months. You have invested so much money in
them and that is why you are now going to take them to the market and sell them for a profit.
Obviously you are trying to sell these animals for a higher price than what you bought them at. In the
cattle market the price are so up and down because of other factors in the economy.
There are so many other thing that are related to raising animals. All the equipment and building
needed to raise them. There fields of where they came from, how they were built and how they got
where they are. The veterinary bills for surprising accidents. The electricity, machinery need for
transporting and planting/harvesting, and so many others things that you can t even imagine.
The whole process of linked things in our world is really endless. You don t ever really realize how
and why everything is connected, but it is in some shape or form. I narrowed it down to the agriculture
field because it is an important area of our interactive world. The agriculture field may be a small part
to some people but once they realize how the agriculture field is related to the rest of the world they
can understand the importance of

Spirit Possession
This week I have been struggling with centering my paper topic. I want to explore the use of
psychedelics in spirit possessions. More specifically, I want to explore the validity of drug induced
shamanistic experiences like in the case of Amazonian Shamans and their use of Ayahuasca. But I
keep running into the problem of shifting my focus into something that doesn t feel, at least to me, like
topics of spirit possession. This is why I have devoted most of my research into attempting to define
the type of spirit possession I am going to be talking about. I ran across an article by Emma Cohen
that tackles this very task, she states that there are two main forms of possession. One is pathogenic
which results from the operation possession concepts result from the operation of cognitive tools that
deal with the representation of contamination (both positive and negative); the presence of the spirit
entity is typically (but not always) manifested in the form of illness. The other is executive, this type
of possession mobilizes cognitive tools that deal with the world of intentional agents; the spirit entity
is typically represented as taking over the host s executive control, or replacing the host s mind (or
intentional agency), thus assuming control of bodily behaviors. For the purposes of the paper, I think
that I am going to be using both models. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Evaluation Of A Exercise Based Interventions
Inter individual variability in the direction and magnitude of weight change in response to supervised
exercise based interventions has been well documented (Table 1). Even in the highly controlled
environment of an isolated experimental station over an 84 day period exercise induced weight loss
ranged between 3 and 12 kg [48]. More recent studies showed that certain participants even gain
weight in response to supervised exercise interventions [42,49]. Accordingly, changes in fat mass and
fat free mass have been shown to vary considerably [36,42]. King et al. showed a roughly 50:50 split
between so called responders (i.e. participants who achieve expected weight loss) and non responders
(i.e. participants who experience a small amount of weight loss or weight gain) [36]. Other studies
indicate that a majority of participants displays some form of compensatory adaptation with a ratio of
responders to non responders of 1:2 [46,49]. Even though there is, most likely, considerable inter
individual variability in metabolic adaptations in response to exercise [42,48], success in weight loss
interventions has been largely attributed to behavioral compensation such as a decline in non exercise
PA and/or an increase in energy intake [22,36,46]; in addition to an obvious association with
adherence to the exercise protocol. In fact, it has been argued that the individual variability in weight
loss can be entirely attributed to the variability in non exercise PA [46,50].

Gender is a Fundamental Element of the Broadway Musical
Starting in the golden age of 1950, a Broadway musical s critical judgement depended on how well
the show s elements were formally integrated. Meaning the outlook of the plot in relation to the music,
lyrics and characterization of gender roles. Gender is a fundamental element of Broadway musical
theatre, constitutional to the musical s architecture. It is essential as a building block for characters,
music/lyrics, and stage settings. Broadway musical is a popular art, in which conveys social issues in
the female gender from the representations of women in the 1950 s to today. The Broadway musical
participates in a larger conversation about gender and sexuality because it is a commercial, profit
seeking, artistic commodity, entertainment form, and cultural product. Broadway musical is a
mainstream form that needs to relate to middle class audiences desires and expectations, one might
expect only social issues and stereotypical representations of women. The female gender stereotypes
are represented in Broadway musicals portrayed by the character s roles. As time went by, the
portrayal of the female characters in musicals changed because of the representation that women in
today receives. Thus, these musicals explore social issues of the day, including women s rights and
changing roles in U.S. culture, sometimes directly and sometime obliquely. Therefore, the Broadway
musical venerates female performers and provides substantial roles for women. Female characters and

medicine that interests me and something that I may pursue as a career in the future. Whilst on this

me a while to understand the differences between DRC and religious beliefs. As of this day I still am a

about the book and the movie and which i prefer. The following is a summary of the book. It is about a
man named Logan, a Marine serving in Iraq, who comes across a photograph in the desert. The
photograph is of a woman at a fair with a huge ferris wheel and three trees in the background and on
the back it says, Keep safe! E . Logan s best friend, Victor, a fellow Marine, says that he was meant to
find that photograph and that it brings him good luck, after Logan tries to find out who is belongs to
with no luck and after Logan survives many explosions while having the photo with him. So when
Logan returns home, he sets out to find the woman, at Victor s suggestion. All he has is a letter of her
name and the background of the photo to go off of. After doing some research he finally narrows it
down to a town in North Carolina. He heads out with his dog, a german shepard named Zeus, on foot

These studies discussed above implicitly assume that the local and US investors have homogeneous
expectations about future prospects of all markets. However, in practice, different market conditions
can cause investors to generate differential risk perceptions. Some studies argue that investor
sentiment may augment to the price divergence between ADRs and their underlying stocks.
 Heterogeneous Investor Sentiment
Grossmann et al. (2007) perhaps is the first to investigate the relationship between consumer
sentiment and ADR price differences. Using a fixed effects panel data approach, they provide
evidence in support of the hypothesis that costly arbitrage factors influence ADR price differentials.
30 Moreover, they argue that sentiment could also help explain the mispricing of ADRs. Specifically,
they test whether consumer sentiment (measured by consumer sentiment indices) help to explain the
divergence between the prices of ADRs and that of their underlying assets. Their results suggest that
the more optimistic U.S. consumers are the lower the ADR premiums. Based on the findings, they
conclude that the prices of ADRs and that of the underlying stocks are more responsive to US
consumer sentiment as to the consumer sentiment of the country of origin.
Using a cross sectional panel data approach, Arquette et al. (2008) model the variations in ADR
discount as a function of expected changes in exchange rate expectations and differences in investor
sentiment.31 The sample

A Look At Israel s Economy
Countries since the beginning of time have traded, competed, and influenced the world economy. A
country s political views, religious views, and culture all play an important role in how the country
conducts business in the global market. They also play a role in how a specific country makes
economic decisions as well as the result of those decisions and how it transitions to the world market.
It is extremely important to understand the role of each country and how it conducts business in the
global economy. The main focus of this essay is to take an indepth look at Israel s economy both
internally and globally. Israel has been around for millions of years and is one of the most fought over
lands in the world. Israel s history begins when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although Israel is only about the size of New Jersey it has all the geographical features a continent
would have. For example if we were to look at Israel on the map we could identify the fertile valleys
in the North, the coastal plain of the Mediterranean, to the mountainous Negev desert in the South,
and finally to the Jordan valley. Israel is packed with a variety of geographical features, all of which
can be seen within a matter of minutes from each other. It would only take a little over an hour to
travel from the most western part of Israel to the eastern end by car and about six hours to travel from
the most northern part to the southern tip.
The total population of Israel is about 7,821,850, it is currently 99th most populated area compared to
the rest of the world. About 341,400 people live in the West Bank, approximately 18,900 live in the
Golan Heights (2012); approximately 196,400 Israeli settlers live in East Jerusalem ( MIDDLE EAST:
ISRAEL. Central Intelligence Agency). Of the total population about 75% are Jewish, 17% Muslim,
2% Christian, 1.6% Druze and about 4% Other. Hebrew is the official spoken language, however
Arabic is used officially for the Arab minority, and English is the most commonly used foreign
language (Central Intelligence Agency). Some of the main areas of population are Tel Aviv (3.4
million people), Haifa (1.1 million), and the capital Jerusalem which as of 2007

Essay on Everyday Use By Alice Walker
People identify themselves by their colour, culture, language or religion. The identity goes back to
generations and it doesn amp;#8217;t start or change within the individual. It is an evolutionary
process where each person brings upon some changes. This is best described in Alice Walker
amp;#8217;s short story, amp;#8220;Everyday Use ;, where three characters, a mother and two
daughters, are portrayed differently, each with its different qualities and philosophies on life that are
often seen in generations.
Heritage is an important part of a person amp;#8217;s life. It tells the person where it came from and
helps the person reach its destiny, almost like a road map. In this story, Dee has trouble understanding

The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman
Ernest J. Gaines book, The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, used many historical events to
connect to the characters story. The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman was published by Bantam
Books in 1972 and has 259 pages. The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman is a classic fictional book.
The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman is the story if a women s life told when she was over one
hundred years old. The novel goes over 3 main periods of time: war years, reconstruction, and slavery.
In The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman it is the time of reconstruction and the novel really
connects with the history of the time. The novel starts the story at when Jane was a young slave. The
Emancipation Proclamation was a decree announced my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When slavery was abolished conditions for black people got worse. Many slaves where beat and
treated cruelly during slavery but because they where property and useful they were spared their lives.
When slavery was abolished many black people were killed because they where no longer anyone s
property.
In the story Jane talked about how many former slaves as well as herself do not cry much anymore
because they have seen so much death and tragedy that it has become a normal thing. Nate, a small
boy Jane had to take care of in the story, knew not to make any noise while in the bushes hiding from
the patrollers because even at a young age he knew death was not far away and did not cry when his
family was killed. Many white people killed black people throughout the story and did not get
punished for it.

for many black people, they could get paid for their labor. By the late 1870s, most former slaves in the
rural South had been drawn into a subservient position in a new labor system called sharecropping

their family off the plantation to become a sharecropper.
The premise of this system was relatively simple: The landlord furnished the sharecroppers with a

Sterile gloves Timer Agar plates (you will need 12 of them.) Notebook to record results Experimental
Procedure: 1. Put on sterile gloves ( do not touch any non sterile surfaces when wearing gloves) 2.
Drop the first item of food (ham) on the first surface (tiles) 3. Start the timer 4. Remove the item from
the surface after 5 seconds 5. Swab the item with a sterile swab (do not touch anything else with the

The ham agar plate grows the most bacterial colonies because this food has the most moisture. Germs
like living in moisture and this is why the test could not be done on a normal tiled floor but instead
had to be done with artificially covered surfaces. It also makes sense that germs would stick to a food
that was wet instead of a food that was dry. Cheese had the second most bacterial colonies, and we
could say this could be because of it being the second moistest food. Lastly, was the chip. The chip got
less bacterial colonies because it had no moisture what so ever. The difference in the lowest and the
highest on the ham varied widely from the lowest and the highest on the chip. The lowest in the ham is
12 (ham on a bricked, or tiled surface) and the highest is 25 (ham on a bricked surface) whereas the
lowest for a chip is 9 (chip on a tiled surface) and the highest is 15 which is a carpeted surface. The
average amount of bacterial colonies on the ham throughout the entire experiment is 16.83 whereas it
is 12.08 on the chip showing that ham generally picks up more bacteria than a

Vengeance In The Crucible
Many Americans were seeking vengeance for those Americans killed by the Japanese in Pearl Harbor
and in the town of Salem some were seeking vengeance for previous wrong doings both reasons
helped feed the mass hysteria because many wanted vengeance at all cost no matter who they dragged
on the way and what the consequences were. In Salem the ringleader Abigail Williams one of the 1st
girls accused of witchery, who accuses the wife of John Proctor Elizabeth Proctor of witchery. Abigail

The mass hysteria in both societies ended up with innocent people getting killed in Salem and
innocent people losing everything in the United States. The Japanese Americans who later were let out
of the camps had lost everything because they had to sell everything they had before moving to the
internment camps, they had nothing to come home to (Japanese American Internment). Many in
America at the time found the treatment of the Japanese Americans inhumane comparing it to the
totalitarian theory of justice practiced by the Nazis in their treatment of the Jews but the fear of other
Americans went above them (Liberal Leaders Urge Civilian Hearing For West Coast Japanese).
Although the internment camps were said to be put in place to protect the Japanese Americans from
hateful actions from angry Americans but many Japanese Americans didn t agree with this because
many Japanese Americans wondered if [they] were put there for [their] protection, why were the guns
at the guard towers pointed inward, instead of outward? (Japanese Relocation During WWII). Similar
to the Japanese Americans those in Salem lost land and family members to this mass hysteria that
could ve all been avoided. The strong feeling to seek revenge from the people in both societies played

In 2003 five people in Kentucky decided to form a band which they called Lucid Grey. It originally

something is called when it is too short to be and album. The music from the EP licensed to MTV and
featured in a Lions Gate film. Lucid Grey released their full length album Eucatastrophe in 2011, the
album contained eighteen songs. The album itself is somewhere between a rock album and a metal
album so I would categorize it as hard rock. The fallowing songs are the songs that I feel express the

Free is one of the best songs on the album, it has a very different style from the previous songs being
more Folk Rock if that s a genre? It has a slow introduction slowly adding instruments until halfway it
becomes more of a rock song. As the song title suggests the song is about freedom but it is more about
gaining that the freedom by sacrificing the past giving the song more of a sullen feel. On the cd case I
was given it has suggested tracks and the fourth song Shatter is recommended and it is the highest
rated song of the album on iTunes so it must be good. This song is from what I can tell fallows the
same pattern of barricades meaning it switches from rock to metal, but this time it maintains what I
would call a metal instrumental throughout the song, and near the end it has a weird guitar rift which
turned me off of this song. Skipping ahead in the album brings us to legion which starts off with
mournful bells transitioning into a slower rock song with metal

Consequences Of The Tea Act Of 1773
1773 the Tea Act was formally implemented. This act gave the Britain s East India Company (shipper)
the right to transport tea directly into the Colony without paying any of the regular taxes that were
imposed on Colonial merchants. The dumping the tea into the colony allowed the shipper to undercut
the American merchants and monopolize the tea trade (Brinkley 101). The consequence of this policy
instigated further resentment towards the Crown and added to the belief that it was not appropriately
represented by their government. In reducing the tax burden, leaving only the taxes on tea, leadership
assumed the shift would be welcomed. In reality, Parliament had lost touch with its citizens. In protest,
passive aggressive movements took hold; The Daughters of Liberty boycotted tea (Brinkley 102).

govern, allowing royal officers in the Colony to be tried for crimes in other colonies and providing for
the quartering of the troops by colonists. The Coercive Acts, as they were titled where known by the
Colony as the Intolerable Acts. These acts further provoked the population; adding validity to the term
taxation without representation. The population of the time felt that the acts of England were imposed
without the input of the American colony. The actions taken by the Crown, in response to the Boston
Tea Party, only aggravated the posturing of each argument; the Crown had the sovereign right to
govern its people as it saw fit and the population not accepting the authority thereof. The other States
took sympathy on Massachusetts by passing a series of resolves in their support (Brinkley

A Basic Overall Assessment Of Pasco County Health
A basic overall assessment of Pasco county health concludes that the county is a moderately healthy
community with chronic illness being a major issue. When comparing Pasco County In the area of
Health outcome to the 67 other counties in Florida Pasco places 45th. The higher the score the worse
the county is. (County Health, 2013) There are two categories that the rankings were broken into were
health outcomes and health factors. Health outcome refers to mortality and morbidity. Health factors
pertain to health risks including factors like alcohol use, access to care and education. With Health
factors Pasco ranked 28th. The rankings vary by a large margin and lead to the conclusion that the
county has relatively healthy.
What I can infer from the statistics found there is a major issue with chronic diseases and other health
factors, which has the potential to lead to a very unhealthy community. The statistics shows that there
is a higher diabetes rate in the county then the average for the state. When it comes to communicable
disease, Pasco has below average contraction. An example would be Infection with HIV or AIDs,
Pasco has around 2.4% while the state average is 5% (County Health, 2013). While this is a lower
number, there are other areas where we are above the state average. An example of this is the smoking
rate in Pasco County. Smoking is widely known for its horrendous effects on health, in Pasco there is a
26% of adults smoking while the state average is 18%

School Lunch Menu

The lunch program at High School has been revised to align with the new dietary requirements that
increase servings of veggies and fruits and decrease calories. Giving a survey to all students about the
school lunches is what I planned on doing.
The type of numeric measurements that I would need to collect would be:
1. The number of days that student will eat in the school within the week?
2. How many students like salads and fruits as compared to other meat servings (pasta, pizza,
hamburgers and etc.?)
3. How many students eat in school per week?
4. How many students bring their own lunch per week?
5. How often do students eat the cafeteria food in a month?
6. Do you feel you have enough time to eat your lunch?
7. Explanations would change but may include the need to discover if the lunches were different and
how many students really eat school lunch, would student eat school lunch?

may help cope with outliers, although it probably should not be used simply because there s an outlier.

Regulatory Environment
The Legal and Regulatory Environment When we look at the history of government involvement in
safety regulation, we first must realize that there is a need for such involvement. A perfect way to put
this is, Government has a responsibility to protect individuals from unhealthy environments, whether
the sources of health risks are natural or created by people or organizations (Frieden, 2013). Long
before the Wright Brothers made history at Kitty Hawk, man has found themselves having to fight for
a safe workplace. Safety and health standards for employees were for many years an afterthought, far
behind increasing the profit margin. Only when unions and workers had had enough, did the tides turn
toward safer conditions. The old adage that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This act came to be known as the Health and Morals of Apprentices Act of 1802 (1959). This act set in
place the first factory inspection system and the standards to govern it. Safety regulations were set in
place limiting number of hours worked, cleanliness standard of all facilities, equipment safety
standards, and the issue of adequate clothing was in place by the 1870 s. Even with a model to follow
the United States was nearly 70 years behind in the race to safer workplaces. The earliest government
involvement in the regulation and setting of safety standards is recorded in the state of Massachusetts.
It was 1869 and the labor unions and public outcry led to the formation of the Bureau of Statistics and
Labor. This agency became the pioneer and trendsetter for all other state Bureau s (2013). They
published their first report in 1870 describing the deplorable conditions of children working in
factories and mills. An early practice of mailing questionnaires to employers, and following up with
site visits was common practice until 1882. Finally in 1882 the laborers side of the story was brought
into account. Early on in the process the effect on factory work and its long hours, poor ventilation,
unhealthy condition on young women was of great concern. Multiple report findings linked severe
illness, and even prostitution to these dastardly conditions. The first annual

  • 2. Sarbanes Oxley Act And Its Effect On Market Liquidity Market liquidity proves to be important to both investors and sellers worldwide. Liquidity refers to the relationship between the speed of the sale, and the price of the sale. Liquid markets have buyer ask prices relatively similar to seller ask prices, making this a preferable situation for both the investor and the seller (Abella, 2016). The Sarbanes Oxley Act in 2002 incentivized institutions to keep more accurate and attainable records of business. The Act being based off of the fraudulent activity of several high profile companies (eg. Enron), was put in place to better monitor and record a companies transactions, improve management style, and promote ethically responsible behavior in the workplace (Keneth, 2015). Both Table 1 and Table 2 represent 1%, 5%, and 10% significance levels with ***,**, and * respectively. As represented in table 2, researchers were able to determine SOX had a significant impact in the long term (90+ days). While quoted spread and share depth show little change immediately after SOX, both measures improve as time passes. This supports the conclusion that markets actually improved as time passed with respect to liquidity. After 270 days of SOX implementation, share depth (the volume of pending orders) improved by 1060 shares, and adverse selection component of spreads was lowered by 1.1 cents. In addition, table 1 details the results of the model ∆Quoted spread or ∆Effective spread = β0 + β1 ∆(TACC/TA) + β2 ∆(1/Price) + β3 ∆Return volatility + β4 ∆Log(Dollar trading volume) + β5 ∆Log(Market value of equity) + ε created by the same researchers who formed table 2. The effective spread is the average effective percentage spread at time t while quoted spread is the average quoted spread at time t. The change is calculated from subtracting pre SOX averages from post SOX averages. Data was sampled from 588 firms over three years (from January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2004). The main significant variable is the change in volatility. This variable shows a statistically significant change at the 1% level. After the passage of SOX, market ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on Community Oriented Policing (COP) Introduction The police are usually charged with the great responsibility of ensuring that citizens are living quality lives that are free of crime and fear. In order to perform this duty effectively, the police need accurate and deeper knowledge of the citizens and issues they encounter in their daily lives. This knowledge will not be easy to come by if the police work independently from the citizens. Over the last several decades, police agencies have been working to gain the respect and the cooperation of the communities they serve. Community Oriented Policing was introduced to bring a closer working relationship between the citizens and the police. Community Oriented Policing Community Oriented Policing (COP) is a concept that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through this cooperation, it is possible to modify the environments that promote criminal behaviors. The concept of COP is almost similar to that of Problem Oriented Policing (POP) apart from a few differences. POP is a concept that involves critically examining pieces of community issues with the aim of learning something new from the problem identified that will lead to more effective strategies for dealing with crime (Zarka, 2007). POP is designed to identify and eliminate causes of reoccurring crime and disorder that harm the community. Just like COP, the main goals of POP are to reduce crime and maintain social order. POP replaces the traditional incident driven policing strategies and, therefore, gave rise to the concept of Community policing (Reno Police Department, 1992). COP and POP designs involve a more open relationship between the citizens and the police with the aim of giving the police a more proactive role in community issues (Mirsky, 2009). Under community policing, police are empowered to engage citizens in providing solutions to community s problems. COP involves tactics such as foot and bike patrol, mini stations, and beat meetings among many others. It also entails changes in police and community structures among a few other external changes. These may include formation of community squad division and geographical organization. COP and POP recognize that crime may be associated to micro social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay On American Refugees The United States has been a refuge for many people from other countries since the early 1900 s. Many Americans do not know the difference between a refugee, an asylum seeker, and an immigrant. Over the years, different associations, agencies, official acts and laws have come into existence to limit who can be awarded the title of refugee. Rules and regulations have become the most confusing part of coming to the United States if a person is seeking refuge. This paper will explore the history of the American refugee and the laws, regulations, and associations that aide or hinder their status. What is the Difference between a Refugee, and Asylum Seeker, and an Immigrant? In the United States, a refugee is defined as a person that is outside of the United States and is seeking refuge from persecution based on their race, nationality, religious beliefs, social group or political opinion. Refugees can be excluded from being awarded refugee status for polygamy, health related issues, moral and criminal and security grounds. Boy s Murders In The Film Paradise Lost The film Paradise Lost documents the case of the deaths of three West Memphis children, as three teenage boys are put on trial for the speculation of their murders. Jessie Misskelley Jr., Damien Echols, and Jason Baldwin are the suspects in question. The three second grade boys were found to have been choked, raped, and sexually mutilated before their murders. Sources in West Memphis report that Misskelley, Echols, and Baldwin are worshippers of Satan and the murders were committed as a ritual act to praise Satan. West Memphis is a highly religious town, and the majority of its members attend church regularly and live their daily lives according to Christian values. At the end of the trial Misskelley, Echols, and Baldwin were all found guilty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Members of the community thought the boys to being worshippers of Satan because of their apparent taste for wearing black and listening to heavy suggestive music like Metallica. In this community that was noted to be outlier behavior, since the majority of the members lived conservative, Christian lifestyles. Since the teenagers expressed different interests than the majority of the community they were an easy pick for the suspects of the killings. Even Damien Echols stated that they were the obvious choice, because they already stood out from the rest. The minority attacking the majority is called a centripetal attack. This upward attack is directed from the margins to the center meaning the minority attack is directed towards the majority. This attracts centrifugal law which works against the minority attackers. Centrifugal law is greater than the opposite, centripetal law, so it is considered more serious for the margin to commit crimes against the socially integrated. This goes along with the idea that the unconventionality of the boys allowed them to be targets and therefore subject to more law against them. The lifestyle of these boys was seen as unconventional considering the environment where they lived. As mentioned before, the people of West Memphis are God loving people who put faith above all else in their daily lives. The way these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Kentucky Derby Is Decadent And Deprave Analysis When New Orleans rhythm and blues musician James Booker recorded his hit single Gonzo in 1960, he most likely had no idea that the title of his single would be used, almost a decade after its release, to refer to the unabashedly radical style of journalism that Hunter S. Thompson with his illustrator Ralph Steadman happened to invent with their breakthrough article The Kentucky Derby is decadent and depraved . It s exactly how it sounds. The annual Kentucky Derby Festival, known in the United States as The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports was being covered by Thompson and he fixated least on the details of the actual race and wrote primarily about the debauched festivities and depravity that the attendees indulged in through the festival ... A style of journalism that does away with the oppression of objectivity that traditional journalism demands and in the process raises the question of whether any piece of reporting can ever be truly objective. Whenever the name of Hunter Thompson is evoked the focus automatically falls on the drugs, the guns, the constant and diverse forms of substance abuse [and Johnny Depp] but should we choose to swim through the psychedelic haze that surrounds Thompson we find a spirited, innovative writer whose accounts of his times with the outlawed Hell s Angels or Richard Nixon is compelling because of his vivid prose more than anything else. As he once famously declared in an interview Objective Journalism is one of the main reasons American Politics has been corrupt for so long. You can t be objective about Nixon. In the 1950s and 60s America, a silent alteration engulfed a generation of young reporters and writers which came to be known as New Journalism. Journalism that blended fiction with fact and had the likes of Norman Mailer and Truman Capote committed to its style. Investigating the Effect of Lipase Concentration on the Breakdown of Fat in Milk INTRODUCTION: Enzymes are proteins which can catalyse chemical reactions without changing themselves. The enzyme lipase breaks down the fat in dairy products such as full cream milk for people who are lactose intolerant. Lipase acts on its specific substrate, lipids produces fatty acids. If enzyme concentration increases, random collisions between the substrates and active sites of enzyme increase due to the increasing amount of active sites which allow more collisions to happen, so the rate of breakdown of lipids to simpler substances will increase. • 10. Family Farm Research Paper In this essay I m going to write about how different markets in the world are linked together. I am going to talk about how in my life different markets are related on our family farm. In the farming business and agriculture field in general, there is so many markets that can be linked in so many ways it is crazy. The process is literally endless with buying, selling, feeding, caring for, protecting and many others. I m just going to start off with the raising animal s aspect. We raise beef cows and calves, pigs and run a steer finishing lot. The beginning process with the animals is actually buying them to start your business. You could buy the cows at the local cattle auction and raise them to become your own. In the process of raising these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now you been raising these animals for the last 12 15 months. You have invested so much money in them and that is why you are now going to take them to the market and sell them for a profit. Obviously you are trying to sell these animals for a higher price than what you bought them at. In the cattle market the price are so up and down because of other factors in the economy. There are so many other thing that are related to raising animals. All the equipment and building needed to raise them. There fields of where they came from, how they were built and how they got where they are. The veterinary bills for surprising accidents. The electricity, machinery need for transporting and planting/harvesting, and so many others things that you can t even imagine. The whole process of linked things in our world is really endless. • 12. Spirit Possession This week I have been struggling with centering my paper topic. I want to explore the use of psychedelics in spirit possessions. More specifically, I want to explore the validity of drug induced shamanistic experiences like in the case of Amazonian Shamans and their use of Ayahuasca. But I keep running into the problem of shifting my focus into something that doesn t feel, at least to me, like topics of spirit possession. This is why I have devoted most of my research into attempting to define the type of spirit possession I am going to be talking about. I ran across an article by Emma Cohen that tackles this very task, she states that there are two main forms of possession. One is pathogenic which results from the operation possession concepts result from the operation of cognitive tools that deal with the representation of contamination (both positive and negative); the presence of the spirit entity is typically (but not always) manifested in the form of illness. The other is executive, this type of possession mobilizes cognitive tools that deal with the world of intentional agents; the spirit entity is typically represented as taking over the host s executive control, or replacing the host s mind (or intentional agency), thus assuming control of bodily behaviors. For the purposes of the paper, I think that I am going to be using both models. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 14. Evaluation Of A Exercise Based Interventions Inter individual variability in the direction and magnitude of weight change in response to supervised exercise based interventions has been well documented (Table 1). Even in the highly controlled environment of an isolated experimental station over an 84 day period exercise induced weight loss ranged between 3 and 12 kg [48]. More recent studies showed that certain participants even gain weight in response to supervised exercise interventions [42,49]. Accordingly, changes in fat mass and fat free mass have been shown to vary considerably [36,42]. King et al. showed a roughly 50:50 split between so called responders (i.e. participants who achieve expected weight loss) and non responders (i.e. participants who experience a small amount of weight loss or weight gain) [36]. Other studies indicate that a majority of participants displays some form of compensatory adaptation with a ratio of responders to non responders of 1:2 [46,49]. Even though there is, most likely, considerable inter individual variability in metabolic adaptations in response to exercise [42,48], success in weight loss interventions has been largely attributed to behavioral compensation such as a decline in non exercise PA and/or an increase in energy intake [22,36,46]; in addition to an obvious association with adherence to the exercise protocol. In fact, it has been argued that the individual variability in weight loss can be entirely attributed to the variability in non exercise PA [46,50]. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gender is a fundamental element of Broadway musical theatre, constitutional to the musical s architecture. It is essential as a building block for characters, music/lyrics, and stage settings. Broadway musical is a popular art, in which conveys social issues in the female gender from the representations of women in the 1950 s to today. The Broadway musical participates in a larger conversation about gender and sexuality because it is a commercial, profit seeking, artistic commodity, entertainment form, and cultural product. Relationship Between Consumer Sentiment And Adr Price Essay These studies discussed above implicitly assume that the local and US investors have homogeneous expectations about future prospects of all markets. However, in practice, different market conditions can cause investors to generate differential risk perceptions. Some studies argue that investor sentiment may augment to the price divergence between ADRs and their underlying stocks.  Heterogeneous Investor Sentiment Grossmann et al. (2007) perhaps is the first to investigate the relationship between consumer sentiment and ADR price differences. Using a fixed effects panel data approach, they provide evidence in support of the hypothesis that costly arbitrage factors influence ADR price differentials. 30 Moreover, they argue that sentiment could also help explain the mispricing of ADRs. Specifically, they test whether consumer sentiment (measured by consumer sentiment indices) help to explain the divergence between the prices of ADRs and that of their underlying assets. Their results suggest that the more optimistic U.S. consumers are the lower the ADR premiums. Based on the findings, they conclude that the prices of ADRs and that of the underlying stocks are more responsive to US consumer sentiment as to the consumer sentiment of the country of origin. Using a cross sectional panel data approach, Arquette et al. (2008) model the variations in ADR discount as a function of expected changes in exchange rate expectations and differences in investor sentiment.31 The sample ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This act gave the Britain s East India Company (shipper) the right to transport tea directly into the Colony without paying any of the regular taxes that were imposed on Colonial merchants. The dumping the tea into the colony allowed the shipper to undercut the American merchants and monopolize the tea trade (Brinkley 101). The consequence of this policy instigated further resentment towards the Crown and added to the belief that it was not appropriately represented by their government. In reducing the tax burden, leaving only the taxes on tea, leadership assumed the shift would be welcomed. In reality, Parliament had lost touch with its citizens. When comparing Pasco County In the area of Health outcome to the 67 other counties in Florida Pasco places 45th. The higher the score the worse the county is. (County Health, 2013) There are two categories that the rankings were broken into were health outcomes and health factors. Health outcome refers to mortality and morbidity. Health factors pertain to health risks including factors like alcohol use, access to care and education. With Health factors Pasco ranked 28th. The rankings vary by a large margin and lead to the conclusion that the county has relatively healthy. What I can infer from the statistics found there is a major issue with chronic diseases and other health factors, which has the potential to lead to a very unhealthy community. The lunch program at High School has been revised to align with the new dietary requirements that increase servings of veggies and fruits and decrease calories. Giving a survey to all students about the school lunches is what I planned on doing. The type of numeric measurements that I would need to collect would be: 1. The number of days that student will eat in the school within the week? 2. How many students like salads and fruits as compared to other meat servings (pasta, pizza, hamburgers and etc.?) 3. How many students eat in school per week? 4. How many students bring their own lunch per week? 5. How often do students eat the cafeteria food in a month? 6. Do you feel you have enough time to eat your lunch? 7. Explanations would change but may include the need to discover if the lunches were different and how many students really eat school lunch, would student eat school lunch? 8. Given the new school lunch menu, how many students would like the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Occasionally uncommon instances are represented by outliers. Other times they symbolize data entry errors, or maybe data that doesn t belong with another data of interest. More robust methods of investigation when conducting the study for the population need to be used. The next method is to transform your data using box plot or histograms. This may serve other functions at the same time. It may help cope with outliers, although it probably should not be used simply because there s an outlier. A histogram is especially useful when there exists large number pf observations. The range of values in types breaks, and show percentage or just the count of the observations that fall into each ... • 32. Regulatory Environment The Legal and Regulatory Environment When we look at the history of government involvement in safety regulation, we first must realize that there is a need for such involvement. A perfect way to put this is, Government has a responsibility to protect individuals from unhealthy environments, whether the sources of health risks are natural or created by people or organizations (Frieden, 2013). Long before the Wright Brothers made history at Kitty Hawk, man has found themselves having to fight for a safe workplace. Safety and health standards for employees were for many years an afterthought, far behind increasing the profit margin. Only when unions and workers had had enough, did the tides turn toward safer conditions. The old adage that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This act came to be known as the Health and Morals of Apprentices Act of 1802 (1959). This act set in place the first factory inspection system and the standards to govern it. Safety regulations were set in place limiting number of hours worked, cleanliness standard of all facilities, equipment safety standards, and the issue of adequate clothing was in place by the 1870 s. Even with a model to follow the United States was nearly 70 years behind in the race to safer workplaces. The earliest government involvement in the regulation and setting of safety standards is recorded in the state of Massachusetts. It was 1869 and the labor unions and public outcry led to the formation of the Bureau of Statistics and Labor. This agency became the pioneer and trendsetter for all other state Bureau s (2013). They published their first report in 1870 describing the deplorable conditions of children working in factories and mills. An early practice of mailing questionnaires to employers, and following up with site visits was common practice until 1882. Finally in 1882 the laborers side of the story was brought into account. Early on in the process the effect on factory work and its long hours, poor ventilation, unhealthy condition on young women was of great concern. Multiple report findings linked severe illness, and even prostitution to these dastardly conditions. The first annual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
