Our group the Kids Next Door was assigned to a Family Dollars Store in 901 Bridgewood Dr.
Fort Worth, TX 76112 to conduct Healthy Food Community Outreach survey. This Family Dollar
Store opens at 9:00 am and close at 10:00 pm Monday through Sunday. So, on October 19, 2017,
Thursday at 9:00 am, our group went to conduct the survey. We enjoyed conducting this survey
and it was a great opportunity to learn about healthy food in our Tarrant county. As working with a
group on this project, I have gained experiences in teamwork, communication, and exploration.
Before we went to conduct the survey, I was kind of afraid to go shopping there alone. I thought
this neighborhood is dangerous and was not safe for a girl to shopping there alone. However, after
exploring the neighborhood Family Dollar store, my negative thoughts of this neighborhood were
completely changed.
The location of this Family Dollar store is across from Dollar General and about half a mile
from this Family Dollar store, there is Albertson supermarket. I also noticed there was a city bus
stop nearby this Family Dollar store. I found this location as convenient for the residents and
access to public transportation is another factor that gives people transportation options to get to
work and shopping. There were plenty of parking spaces available for customers including
accessible handicap parking spaces in front of the store and near the store entrance. The store
environment was clean, but I did not notice whether the trash bin was placed in front of the store
or not. I arrived there a little bit early around 8:50 am and I saw a few customers walked in the
store ten minutes earlier than store open hour. It was kind of a surprise to see it because I did not
expect the store would allow the customer to walk into the store before the open hour.
Unfortunately, our group member Kayla could not join us for this survey. The rest our group
members met in the parking on the survey day. We brought the survey, but we forgot to bring a

Gullah (or Geechee or Sea Island Creole English) formed separately on the Sea Islands off the coast
of the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida throughout the 18th and 19th centuries among enslaved
Western Africans. They developed a language that combined grammatical, phonological, and lexical
features of the non standard English varieties spoken by white slaveholders and farmers in that
region of the United States along with those from numerous Western and Central African languages.
According to this view, Gullah developed separately, or distinctly, from African American English
and varieties of English spoken in the South.
Why was English first introduced?
English was first introduced in these sea islands and surrounding areas due to the large amount of
West African slaves that were taken from their home country that had many different dialects

language was needed for them communicate so English was used as it was a prevalent and

Solar eclipses provide a unique opportunity to observe the sun itself owing to the moon
providing a clear view of the solar chromosphere. Observations of the sun during a solar eclipse
lead to a variety of discoveries ranging from the discovery of elements to a deeper understanding
of solar activities such as coronal mass ejections. The use of equipment in new ways allows
scientists to make previously unimaginable discoveries as Pierre Jansen discovered in 1868 while
observing the sun. With the knowledge of atomic emission spectroscopy and new instruments
Pierre Jansen observed the spectrum of the chromosphere that was briefly visible at the
beginning and at the end of totality and saw a bright yellow emission line (Pasachoff, 2009).
After further observation without an eclipse he and Norman Lockyer independently confirmed
that this line indicated the presence of a new element named helium. Observations of this nature
can produce false positives as was the case for coronium. From solar observation green, red, and
several fainter emission lines (Pasachoff, 2009) were observed and attributed to an element
named coronium. The existence of such an element was later disproved when it was discovered
