- 3. water pollution The worst type of soil contamination is chemical contamination. The main sources of this are industry, agriculture and transport. The effects of these branches of human activity may lead to soil fatigue, which means lower soil fertility.
- 4. Air pollution Road transport has a particularly negative impact on the quality of soils, polluting the soil and vegetation with exhaust fumes containing lead compounds and harmful hydrocarbons.
- 5. Methods of counteracting soil destruction 1. Proper farming with the use of mainly natural fertilizers, rational use of artificial fertilizers and plant protection products. 2. Limiting industrial sources of soil pollution - the use of modern environmentally friendly technologies and proper management of post-production waste. 3. Preventing erosion - melioration activities, mid-field forest cover, afforestation of wastelands. 4. Preventing soil contamination from municipal sources - reducing the amount of waste and proper management (waste segregation, composting, collection of hazardous waste) and wastewater treatment.
