Porter s Five Forces Model Of Comparative Analysis In Rwanna
The Rwandan women entrepreneurs therefore, should perform a comparative Analysis, as part of an
external inspection to identify rival firms and determine their strengths, weaknesses, capabilities,
opportunities, threats, objectives, and strategies. Porter s Five Forces Model of competitive analysis is
a widely used approach for developing strategies in many industries. According to Porter, the nature of
competitiveness in a given industry can be viewed as a combination of five forces: Rivalry among
competing firms, potential entry of new competitors, and potential development of substitute products,
bargaining power of suppliers and bargaining power of consumers.

Interview As A Personal Interview
Stanley Seat is a Biology major attending the University of Maryland. Throughout my interview
process with Stanley, I found common themes of a person who would like to expand their
interpersonal relationships through adventure and experiences. What I take away from Stanley s
interview is that he genuinely cares about helping others, and surrounding himself with people who
would do the same. Stanley wants to grow up to become a doctor/healthcare administrators, and
throughout the interview I saw important traits of a person who would excel in that role. Traits such as
being a caring, insightful, strategic, and productive person are all traits found in his responses, and
would be essential for his professional career. He hopes to work hard at the University of Maryland in
order to get into graduate school. Although Stanley is extremely dedicated to his work, he doesn t let
that consume his life. When asked about the kind of people he would like to be surrounded by, he
responds with I like to be around adventurous people who know how to have fun and live life to the
fullest. I don t want to regret not doing something or always wonder what would have been. This
response really speaks to his ideology of a finite amount of time. I feel like he believes that you can t
live your life cooped up in a bubble. The only thing you have as a take away from life when you grow
older is your family, and the experiences that you accumulate throughout your life. You can t just sit

Summary Of Her Third Marriage And Tea Cake Woods
Her third marriage was to Vergible Tea Cake Woods. This marriage was a choice and Janie was highly
cautious before deciding to be with him. Similarly to Joe she did not know what to expect from being
with Tea Cake. Janie went into this marriage having hopes of achieving true love and her idea of
marriage. She hoped that she would be able to put her values first and that she did. Tea Cake and Janie
gone hunting. Tea Cake and Janie gone fishing. Tea Cake and Janie gone to Orlando to the movies.
Tea Cake and Janie gone to a dance. Tea Cake making flower beds in Janie s yard and seeding the
garden for her. Chopping down that tree she never did like by the dining room window. All those signs
of possession. Tea Cake in a borrowed car teaching Janie to drive. Tea Cake and Janie playing
checkers; playing coon can; playing Florida flip on the store porch all afternoon as if nobody else was
there. Day after day and week after week. (Hurston 129). Tea Cake was about 12 years younger than
Janie, which is probably why he was so free and adventurous. He was not as traditional as Logan and
Joe. Tea Cake allowed her the freedom and support she needed. He allowed exploration of her self
identity. Unlike her other husbands, Tea Cake was encouraging. He encouraged her to follow her own
interests and with that she was fulfilled. Although she was fulfilled with Tea Cake and able to openly
explore her values, he was similar to her other husband s in many ways.

Essay on Aztec and Inca Religious Zeal
Aztec and Inca Religious Zeal
The Aztec and Inca peoples lived in militaristic and expansionist societies whose ideals were fueled by
their religious convictions. Expansionism was necessary for both societies to support their religious
beliefs. The religious zeal of these two civilizations became something that the leaders of the empires
could not control. These empires were built through ideologically driven conquests, which became the
cornerstones of their societies and something beyond the control of the rulers. Every imperialistic
nation has a motive for expansion. Military, materialism, and missionary are three of the biggest
motives foe expansion that imperialistic countries use to expand their borders. Conquests ... Show

This required the Mexicas to go out and make war with their neighbors and then ruthlessly take
prisoners of war for later sacrifice. It was believed that the strength from the sacrificed captives souls
would strengthen the sun in its ongoing battle with the forces of darkness (Conrad, 38). This need for
the sun to constantly be appeased set the Mexica people out on divine missions for sacrificial bodies
that took the form of imperial conquests. Mexica rulers flooded their lands with propaganda that
promoted their imperialistic religion. Most of the Aztec s art and literature was made up of this
propaganda, which created this religious fervor among the people that grew beyond the control of the
ruling elites. Oral literature, monumental art, written codices, and public and private ceremonies
instilled and continually reinforced belief in the divine struggle and the unceasing need for sacrificial
victims (Conrad, 51). Furthermore, religious zeal was strengthened by the guarantee that immortality
would be granted to warriors who died in the divine quest and increased social standing awaited those
who faired well in wars (Conrad, 52). The Aztec empire was conquering new lands but not staying to
govern them. Moctezuma II inherited not only a tradition of glorious military achievement but also its
product: a far flung, loosely organized, and totally unstable imperial hegemony (Conrad, 60).
Moctezuma II recognized this problem with

The Philosophy Of Moral Relativism
In the beginning of the semester, we were given an ethical inventory and I felt fairly confident with
my results. I ve never taken an ethics class before, so I was very interested in learning about different
philosophies. I came to class with an opened mind and eager with curiosity and was intrigued by the
many different philosophical theories. This newfound information influenced my current stance when
re taking the inventory. There were a few questions which I had a change of heart in, most of these
questions circled around the philosophy of moral relativism and moral absolutism.
At the start of the course, I believed that right and wrong was not determined by one s culture. I
believed that every being acknowledges that there are certain overarching morals, i.e., thou shalt not
kill. By the end of the course, I changed my opinion on the matter; this change is influenced by the
philosopher, Ruth Benedict. Benedict s philosophy of moral relativism states that morality is culturally
relative morality is dependent upon what is socially approved, and that good varies among different
societies. Each society has their own expectations of behavior, and that in turn molds the morality of
the individual. For example, an individual being brought up in Nazi Germany will view the treatment
of Jews as normal , not batting an eye, in seeing them murdered. Nonetheless, I still stand behind my
initial idea of a universal morality but I understand and accept the role in which

Cultural Experience Reflection Paper
Cultural Experience Reflection: Spain, Healing Dirt, and Amores Perros When learning a new
language, educating, experiencing, and learning about the culture behind the language is paramount. It
is not simple enough to learn the vocabulary and grammar of Spanish. As a Spanish 1010 student, my
learning experience has been enriched through participating in cultural events. Furthermore, I gained a
deeper understanding and appreciation for the language and native speakers. Over the last semester, I
participated in the following three cultural experiences: traveling to Spain, attending the Healing Dirt
event, and watching the movie Amores Perros. Fortunately for me, these three events covered a
variety of issue areas (e.g., religious traditions, language dynamics, and machismo); additionally, each
event was based in different Spanish speaking countries. Over the past summer, I traveled to Spain
and was able experienced the culture and traditions of the Hispanic people for two weeks. I was struck
by how language and cultural heritage played a major role in shaping the experiences of Hispanic
people. The role of language plays a huge role in shaping the experiences and lives of the people
living in Barcelona. In the city of Barcelona, Catalan and Spanish are the languages spoken.
Furthermore, the government only provides free education to learn Catalan, not Spanish. This
preservation of the Catalonian culture represents the ongoing effort of the Catalonians to gain
independence from Spain. Through preserving the native Catalonian language through law and
education, these Hispanic people show how they adamantly defend their heritage and place high value
on preserving Catalonian culture. I recognized the respect the other Barcelonans had for the
Catalonian people. Though their cultures have many fundamental differences, the non Catalonians
living in Barcelona learn how to speak Catalan in order to communicate, but also to validate the
integrity of their cross culture interactions. This enables an open discussion politically and socially on
the issues both cultures bring to the discussion. After traveling through Spain, I was inspired by the
people to learn how to speak

Pros And Cons Of Japan Government
The 1955 system, time known as the one in which Japanese government was under the control of a
one party dominated and conservative structure that lasted over nearly forty years, the Liberal
Democratic Party (LDP) coming from the union of two conservatives parties: the Japan Democratic
Party and Liberal Party, was a functional structure that showed a relative stability and consistency
within the state against its opposition counterpart, the Japan Socialist Party (JSP). The system s
notable elements mainly consisted in anti labor and pro business policies that protected the home
market from outside influence with low levels of social welfare spending, making Japan pass through
a growth period though, at the same time, such system presented cases of Diet s unconstitutionalism,
corruption scandals, and a lack of organization in more than one aspect. ... Show more content on

The Use Of Force By William Eryone
eryone takes things different. many people just let the doctor do what they know what they are doing.
Then other people think that they are hurting their kids. In this short story The Use Of Force by
william carlos william the theme is whether it is justifiable for medical professions to use force with
their patients. In the 19th century if you were human being of adult years you could do whatever you
wanted with your own body. in this article Voluntary Euthanasia and the Common Law says every
human being of adult years and sound mind has a right to determine what shall be done with his own
body; and a surgeon who performs an operation without his patient s consent commits an assault for
which he is liable in damages (Margaret Otlowski ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

human just like us some of them might do a mistake sometime but that doesn t make them bad. They

the reason he use force is because the patient doesn t want them to find out what she is sick of. That

Identity And Conformity In Stargirl, By Jerry Spinelli
Throughout the novel Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, several topics across the novel contribute to the
overall theme. From identity, conformity to bullying, the topics of Stargirl cover everything under the
Mica sun. Conformity is touched after everyone in Mica Area High School is described as
conformists, blending into one another. Identity is challenged by Stargirl as she breaks away from
conformity. Bullying makes its debut after the kids at MAHS reject Stargirls quirky ways. Overall, the
Stargirl novel puts a fresh take on the underlining theme most people aren t true to themselves unless
they are confident. To begin, Stargirl defies the term normal throughout the novel with her identity as
the quirky over the top person she is. She laughed when there was no joke. She a danced when there
was no music. She had no friends, but was the friendliest person in school (Page 15, Spinelli). This
quote by Spinelli shows that Stargirl is different than everyone else, not only in the way she dresses
and looks, but also in her demeanor and outlook in life. The book goes along to say that the kids at
Mica Area High School couldn t make her out. In fact, Stargirls identity and refusal to join the rest of
the school in their conformity lifestyles, is drawn out though character Hillari Kimble spreading the
rumour across the entire school that She (Stargirl) isn t real (Spinelli, Pag 7). going onto to tell Mica
Area High School her conspiracy about Stargirl being a ploy by the

Macroeconomics
Warren Smith
4th of April 2014 Abstract For macroeconomics, we were given an assignment to examine and analyze
the causes of the business cycle in foreign economies. We were divided into groups of 6 and were
given the instructions to randomly select a continent. Our continent was North America. We had to
choose between Canada and Mexico. The reason why we decided to choose Mexico is because of its
economy trade with the US, their migration flow, the interesting influence on oil prices worldwide and
the impact that the drug cartels have on Mexican politicians. Mexico is known for being one of the
world s most corrupt nations but somehow they still manage to have one of the best industrializing
economies in Latin America. The causes for a country s business cycle can be either endogenous or
exogenous. Throughout this paper, the internal problem of political corruption will be analyzed and
discussed in order to determine Mexico s economic stage.
Introduction Between 175 countries, Mexico is ranked as the 103rd most corrupt nation worldwide.
Corruption has become the cancer of Mexico. Organized crimes and corruption are linked with each
other and cannot operate without one another. There are witnesses who have seen state police pick up
cocaine shipments and delivering them personally to the cartels. This linkage between cartels and the

Bend it like Beckham is a movie about a Punjabi adolescent. In this movie, she goes by the name Jess
for a shorter, easier version of Jesminder Bhamra. She belongs to a Sikh family who is currently living
in London, a different world from their hometown Punjab, India. As a typical Indian parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Bhamra would like for their daughter to follow the Indian heritage by attending school, learning
to cook, becoming a Doctor, and marrying an Indian man. However, just like many other adolescents,

During this phase, adolescents believe that everyone around them is fully focused on what he/she does
and how he/she looks. As a result, they are consciously aware of what he/she is doing and how this
action might be perceived by others around them; creating imaginary audience in their imagination.
One example of this can seen during one of Jess s football practices. After she was accepted to be a
part of the female s local football team, she was given the uniform a pair of shoe, shorts and t shirt. As
soon as she looked at the pair of shorts, a look of restlessness began to appear on her face. Is it not
until her football coach, Joe, confronted her do we find out the reason. She, uncomfortably, explains
that she doesn t want to play football wearing shorts because her legs are [half] burnt. This explains
Jess s thinking that everyone in the team will notice her legs and will cause embarrassment for herself.
Soon after, Joe explains it s okay Jess; no one will notice it once you start playing. However it is not
until Joe reveals marks on his legs that Jess begins to feel comfortable; depicting adolescent
egocentrism. Another example that portrays adolescent egocentrism in this movie is through personal
fable, a belief in one s personal uniqueness. During this, the adolescent believes that

questions showed his social and fun side. I ve gotten to know more about Brian s personality, hobbies,
beliefs, and goals. To start off, Brian s favourite colour is green. Thankfully I got to know more about

to people. However his family is religious, but not as religious as others. Our society is pretty odd and
Brian agrees with that statement. He thinks society is terrible. He doesn t like how people easily judge
others based on stereotypes. Brian doesn t think our society is too involved with technology though.
His life is balanced, he doesn t spend too much time on social media. Therefore he thinks that
technology is fun and a great way to spend time as long as people don t make their lives revolve
around it. We re all still young and don t really have our lives planned out yet. All Brian knows so far
is that in 5 years he sees himself with a part time job and in either a college or university, however he

Political Economy Model Of Disease
The relationship between society and disease causes some of the most complex issues in existence
today. This complexity continues to grow, as the global community does not have a universal mode of
combating health decline. For this reason, some diseases and causative agents have thrived for
hundreds and thousands of years without a true cure. Fortunately, there are numerous scientific fields
dedicated to researching the problems and solutions that contribute to worldwide health. Medical
anthropology is one of the fields that attempt to bridge the gap between contrasting belief systems, and
ask the sensitive questions that politicians and world leaders avoid answering. For this reason,
understanding disease is becoming more available, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
43). The strength of these forces influenced people for centuries, and determined which individuals
thrived when illness spread. Although this model has only recently emerged, the hierarchy that existed
in every point in time shows that the model is accurate for its role in shaping overall health.
Historically, those in power were the first to receive treatment or prophylaxis against illness. Those
who could not contribute to the economy nor had a voice in politics were always at the greatest risk
for disease. Darwin s theory of evolution can be applied to the political economy model of disease
because the fittest individuals at a given time will overcome the challenges posed by the economic and
political demands. In modern times, this model is woven between the complexities of economic
development and the emergence of diseases that cause health decline. The state of the political
environment surrounding health and economics ultimately drives which issues are of most concern. In
United States politics, stem cell research, abortion, birth control, and cancer are important and
controversial health related topics. The reason these topics get the most attention is because they have
the potential to stimulate or hinder the economy, and create progress or partitions throughout the
country. When applying this model to smallpox, it is understood that the demand for vaccination and
eradication was stemmed from political motives. The desire to end worldwide epidemics was
appropriated through the global contributions that occurred hand in hand with foreign policies that
provided economic gain. The economic and political infrastructures at the time when smallpox was
eradicated called for worldwide compliance, especially as a way to come to a consensus

Economic Changes In The United States
Does the economy changing effect the country? The economy changing has many differing factors to
determine how society is run. An economy change will greatly impact the people it ll also impact the
way they live. But you need change to grow and get better. Economic change also impacts culture and
politics, society and technology. Economic changes everything and everyone for better or for worse.
A great example of this is back in the 1800 s with Boss Tweed and his rain of terror. He knew how to
manipulate people to do what he wanted. And in this time period there were many immigrants coming
into the united states from all over. They came from a different countries with different governments
so they didn t understand the government in the United States. They didn t understand democracy,
they didn t understand that they had the power, they didn t understand that they had human rights. So
Boss Tweed took advantage of this he promised them food and shelter for their vote and they ... Show

There was an endless flow of immigrants coming into america in the 1900 s and industries were
blooming everywhere and new jobs were opening up all over the place. These immigrants that were

heights. But getting here wasn t easy at all, they were discriminated against because of the way they
looked. They didn t look like the native americans so they weren t american and shouldn t be allowed

The economy changing effects the people and how they live greatly. It could be for the better or for

terrible for the immigrants. But then you have the progressive era and that was all based on making it

Quest For An Earthly Paradise And The Anticipation Of A...
Lamentation and Hope in the Depiction of Paradise
The quest for an earthly paradise and the anticipation of a heavenly one is a drive that has always
prevailed in humankind s search for God and redemption from the original sin. The desire for a
terrestrial manifestation of paradise, a so called lost origin is predominantly reflected in writers
depictions of the fall of man. This can be seen in Milton s Paradise Lost and Lucy Hutchinson s Order
and Disorder. Both these epic poems at times magnify the sadness and gravity of the loss of a
paradisal home in which Adam and Eve as our fore parents dwelt under God s close guidance and
love. The fascination with Eden s bliss is manifested in Adam and Eve s admiration, however it also
extends to Satan s various instances of questioning his own actions in the shadow of such beauty.
Perhaps crucial to both interpretations of the fall of man is that the knowledge gained from the
forbidden fruit is the realization of loss, the sudden true appreciation of the beauty of a paradise that is
now lost. On the other hand the promise of redemption is provided through God s mercy in Death,
thus allowing for a hope and anticipation of a heavenly paradise. This portrayal of a merciful God in
Paradise Lost and Order and Disorder, grows out of man s search for redemption and a desire to be
united with God in a heavenly paradise. Nostalgia and anticipation of paradise thus manifest through
the lamentations of loss and mercy in death

Mycenaean Pottery
1. Why and how has Mycenaean pottery been used as evidence for trade and exchange between the
Aegean and the Central Mediterranean? What has been the most recent contribution to this work and
why is it significant? The Mycenaean civilization existed throughout the HLI to HLIIIC, and it is
believed that the expansion of the civilization was vast. It initially covered the southern parts of Italy,
Sardinia, Sicily and few islands around Italy . The archaeological evidence collected, suggests that
trade routes were established between Aegean and Central Mediterranean, due to the distribution of
the Mycenaean pottery throughout these timelines. According to Vagnetti, that the Mycenaean pottery

Seventy eight sites were found in the Central Mediterranean, which consisted of both Mycenaean and
Aegean pottery . In the LHI II, high volumes of Mycenaean pottery seemed to have been found on
islands within the Central Mediterranean rather than the mainland. By LHIIIA, the findings of
Mycenaean pottery have declined even though the trade route had expanded, while others had been
shut down. This could suggest that trade was limited due to possible conflict or possibly a breakdown
in the relationships within the regions. However, by HLIIIB to HLIIIC the findings increased, and it
would seem that new trade routes have been established; they have also expanded into central Italy
and the Po Valley. However, most finds are limited to mainly settlement and cemetery findings in

Three landmark pieces of legislation have been enacted within the last forty years; ERISA, COBRA
and HIPAA. Each one of these laws was created to foster development and improvement in the
welfare of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the United States. The mainstays of these
three pieces of legislation are to improve working conditions; to add advanced opportunities for
profitable employment, protect employees, and to assure work related benefits and rights. What is
ERISA? ERISA stands for Employee Retirement Income Security Act. ERISA regulates the
establishment and implementation of discretionary benefits practices. Since its enactment in 1974,

Congress enacted COBRA as a provision of ERISA to provide continued coverage for those who have
lost their employment, including terminated employees; this law is also responsible for amending the
Internal Revenue Code and the Public Health Service Act. The three main elements to qualify for
COBRA are specific criteria regarding plans, qualified beneficiaries, and qualifying events. Group
health plans for any employer who has 20+ employees for more than half the fiscal year is subject to
COBRA. Qualified beneficiaries outlined by COBRA include any individual covered by the plan,
including the employees spouse and dependent children; qualifying events are outlined by COBRA
and specific causes for loss of health coverage that makes individuals eligible for benefits. COBRA is
also used to notify, track, and document facets of compliance in accordance with outlined statutes. To
fully understand COBRA, it is necessary to know the meanings of qualifying events, qualified
beneficiaries, and continuation coverage. These qualifying events include, death of the covered
employee, termination or reduction in hours of employment, divorce or legal separation, dependent
child ceasing to meet the health plan s definition of a dependent child, and covered employee
becoming eligible to Medicare benefits under the Social Security Act. Qualified beneficiaries

War and Modernism Poems During the Earky 1900 s Essay
During the tumultuous early 1900s, many poems were written on the horrors both heard of and
encountered first hand. Some poets, like William Butler Yeats, wrote about the horrors of rebellion
they encountered; others, like Wilfred Owen, were part of the dreadful World War I and were urged by
their memories to start writing ( Wilfred Owen ). Both were part of the modernist movement, of which
Yeats is often regarded as one of the founders. Modernism was a movement that outstretched literature
and poetry, yet provided a new amount of freedom for war poets, as it allowed them to express
themselves in the modernist fashion of free forms and room for criticism on the modern world
(Matterson). William Butler Yeats The Second Coming , is an ... Show more content on

While the poem does rhyme, it was freely written in the way the poet felt was most fitting. Secondly,
this poem is fitting for the Modernist movement because it expresses what millions of people might
have felt after the soldiers started shooting each other and all hell broke loose: it was the end of the
world as they knew it. The part about the millions of people is important for this point, because
Modernists like Yeats desired to move away from the personal towards the intellectual or collective.
The poem criticizes the war by using cryptic images that are clear enough to convey their true
meaning: Yeats was shocked at what had happened to his world. While Ireland was no part of the
World War, the violent Easter Rising took place in 1916, when Ireland tried to break free from the
British domination ( The 1916 Easter Rising ). Yeats, a Dubliner, was there to experience it himself.
Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum est , on the other hand, did not paint a very poetic picture of the
war; instead, it illustrates in a gruesome and to the point manner how horrible it was, while still fitting
in with the Modernist movement. This poem tells in harsh words the story of young soldiers like
Owen himself, who were stuck in the trenches when they were attacked with poison gas. One of them
was not as lucky as the others and could not save himself in time. Nothing is left to the imagination in
this poem. The image of the dying young man, choking at

The Importance Of Being Earnest Analysis
The play, The Importance of Being Earnest written by Oscar Wilde, describes two main protagonists
living in 1890 s England, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff (Algy), who, for the sake of love,
both use the same name (Ernest) to conceal their true identity. Algy has a cousin named Gwendolen
Fairfax, whom Jack is in deep love with. On the other hand, Algy falls in love with Jack s ward, who
is Cecily Cardew. At first, everything goes well, until both Jack and Algy end up together in the
country, leading to a comedy of mistaken identities. The play uses satire to ridicule the issues such as
money, marriage, and social status during the Victorian Age. The upper class society of the Victorian
period can be exemplified by the characters to give us knowledge and understanding of the play. One
scene where Lady Bracknell disapproves of Algernon s proposal to Cecily because she thinks that
Cecily does not possess a lot of money nor social status. As such, Wilde believes that the Upper class
Victorian society should not take trivial matters such as money, marriage, social status, and
appearance seriously.
According to Wilde, Lady Bracknell disapproves Algernon s proposal to Cecily because she thinks
that Cecily is not nearly good enough for Algernon. This is evident by the line: Ah! A life crowded
with incident, I see; though perhaps somewhat too exciting for a young girl. I am not myself in favour
of premature experiences (Wilde). As Lady Bracknell is the quintessence of society in the Victorian
era, she believes that social status and wealth is of the utmost importance and that marrying someone
without money is intolerable. Jack, knowing that Lady Bracknell is a materialistic person, persuades
her sarcastically, Oh! About a hundred and thirty thousand pounds in the Funds. That is all. Goodbye,
Lady Bracknell. So pleased to have seen you . (Wilde) Lady Bracknell changes her mind immediately
after knowing that Cecily is wealthy and has large funds: A moment, Mr. Worthing. A hundred and
thirty thousand pounds! And in the Funds! Miss Cardew seems to me a most attractive young lady,
now that I look at her (Wilde). Lady Bracknell consents the marriage of Algernon and Cecily because
of Cecily s Wealth. This is

Energy Drinks Market
Energy Drinks Red Bull
What are energy drinks? Cola and coffee drinks have long been promoted and known as energy drinks
meant to give you a little pick me up, mostly in the form of caffeine and sugar. Jolt Cola in the 80s
was one of the early entries in the energy drink market, with double the caffeine of normal colas, it
was marketed towards teens and college students as a way to get an energy edge and keep you awake
and energized. Their slogan, in fact, was twice the caffeine . Jolt has in fact recently been reincarnated
given the success of other energy drinks. What are the most popular energy drinks? Red Bull, created

smaller cans, which is part of their image.
While the UK is certainly not the only market in Europe where energy and sports drinks are big

Bars and clubs remain important outlets for energy drinks across Europe Many people will try an
energy drink brand for the first time in a bar, with or without alcohol there is a growing trend towards
everyday consumption as a source of energy.
This in itself throws up other challenges not least how the brands, and the stores that sell them,
distinguish themselves from each other. This has led to a range of new products, which differentiate
themselves from Red Bull through packaging, or colour, or taste, or through what they contain, said
Hall. Consumers are increasingly knowledgeable, and they understand more and more about the
ingredients in these drinks, so if the science is good, it can be a real selling point.
Sports drinks are perhaps a case in point. They are generally linked with energy drinks, and indeed
have a number of similarities in terms of functionality and target audience. Yet they are generally
consumed in different situations they are unlikely to be consumed in a bar, for example and have
different effects on the body.

I would like to suggest further options that can be adopted by the present Government. Nationwide
free information sessions (communicative intervention) targeting pregnant women in antenatal clinics
and parents in schools should be organised about 2 3 times per year. These sessions would stress on
explaining the expected benefits and importance of vaccinations, with question time periods to enable
parents to clear out any doubts. Take home informative brochures would also be designed and
distributed.
Improving access (facilitative intervention) to parents from remote and rural areas is also another good
way to ensure immunisation uptake. Another good idea would be to distribute food vouchers
(distributive approach) to parents coming from the distant rural areas.
We could also focus on monitoring the spread of vaccine preventable diseases, via the ACIR, so as to
detect any outbreak at the earliest possible and take the necessary preventive measures
(communicative intervention).
Policy actors in favour
Probable actors in favour of resolving the issue would be the World Health Organisation, the Public
Health Association of Australia, members of the Government (in particular those working in the
Immunise Australia Program), and health professionals (in particular doctors).
These interest groups would have different objectives which could be achieved by supporting issues
that lead to the increase in childhood immunisation uptake. WHO would be expected to be in favour

Establish the Business in Totalitarian or Democratic System
Introduction All countries in the world have various political environment and regimes. Political
systems differ in terms of the governance, power and the rule of law. A political regime can be defined
as structures, activities and processes by which given countries in the world govern themselves.
Political systems can be based on either collectivism or individualism. It is essential for business to
look at a country s political environment as a vital criterion in venturing or expanding the business or
company to that country. This is because political systems differ and each has its own form of
governance that impacts a business in terms of its growth. International companies carry out

According to research, commerce prospers or is successful when business sector includes
independently owned companies that exist to make and increase profits (Axtmann 89). A country such
as Britain uses a democratic form of governance or political system, and because of this, the country is
one out of the many countries that diverse companies want to venture their business it. This makes the
country a stable business environment of international companies. Democratic political system
business laws ensures all businesses especially in the private sectors are independent in that they carry
out their own business operations with the intent of making profits and revenues; thus grows and
improves the economy. In a totalitarianism political system, there is a difference in that this form of
government has vague business laws. There is no guarantee that international enterprises would
prosper in countries practicing this government. For example in North Korea, the business laws are
nebulous in that multinational companies are not protected. The international firms can be taken by the
government, and this occurs when there are international issues or wrong movements by the
companies. This shows that it is risky to do business with totalitarian nations such as North Korea;
thus it is not a conducive environment for international companies or businesses. The other reason that
justifies that democracy

Compare And Contrast Africa And American Colonialism
Unfortunately, Africa and American both experienced colonialism a long time ago. Colonialism, after
all, is a political system in which an external nation takes complete control of a territory in another
area of the world. Moreover, the colonized people do not invite the colonial power, nor do they have
any say in how they are governed. Colonialism is by definition and practiced un democratic! The
displeasure experience brings them a lot of similarities, and the same time, it brings them some
differences as well. Africa and America have the similarities on what the invaders wanted from them
their natural resources. Colonial regimes concentrated on finding and exploiting the most profitable
natural resources in each colony of Africa. In mineral rich colonies, the emphasis was placed on
mining. In other territories, the colonial power identified agricultural products suitable for export to
Europe. The prominence in either case, was on developing the resources for export, not for local use
or consumption. Profits from the export of mineral and agricultural goods were also sent to Europe.
Profits that could have been used to promote social and economic development in the colonies were
not available. The small taxes levied on exports went to support colonial rule. For America, European
imported the squashes, pumpkins, and corn etc. so that their health standard grew higher. The
Europeans also loved fur, so beaver pelts were one of the exchange items as well. And later, the three
continents fell into a triangle trade system, which involved three journeys each with the promise of a
large profit and a full cargo. In reality, the journey was more complicated with ships travelling from all
over Europe carrying manufactured goods to different ports along the African coast to trade for slaves.
The ships from Africa then sailed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean and Americas to trade the slaves
for raw materials. Finally, the ships from America returned to Europe with raw materials such as
sugar, tobacco, rice and cotton. Africa and America are different in the way that the colonialism
developed. To Europeans, Africa was more like a method in the trading system. They not only got the
natural resources from it, but

necessarily incurred to bring it to the condition and location necessary for its intended use, in

relationship between acquiring an asset and the incurrence of interest cost makes interest cost

FST 426L.1
Purpose
The objective of this experiment is to prepare and identify several types of esters by the process of
dehydration synthesis using an alcohol with an acid.
Introduction
The process by which esters are formed is a reversible reaction called esterification. They are formed
when alcohols react with carboxylic acids in the presence of hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid. This
reaction is known as a condensation reaction. In the reaction above, the hydroxyl group ( OH) in the
carboxylic acid is replaced by the alkoxy group ( R*O) of the alcohol yielding an ester and water.
Esters are used as constituents of perfumes, cosmetics, and surfactants, just to mention a few
examples. In addition to this they are used in the food industry for flavoring of sweet and margarine.

is shown in the last column of this table as well as how the team member identified the odors of the
ester produced. Table 2 shows the results for all 5 groups in the class. Most of the esters produced in
this laboratory experiment were easily identified as specific fragances such as banana, wintergreen,
and menthol. It is shown in the table, that banana was the most identified one followed by tube M and
tube A. The rest of the esters, E and B, had more variability in the identification of esters while C was
identified as mouthwash, which can be associated to the menthol flavor and odor. Ester in tube B was
the hardest to be identified according to Table 2, since it had 4 different associated smells to it.
Students identified one of the odors as expo marker which can be due to experimental error in which
the ester did not fully react and the solution smelled more like alcohol (ethanol or isopropanol), which
are ingredients that most dry erase markers such as the brand Expo

The Cancer Of The Blood Cells
. Leukaemia
This is a cancer of the blood cells. Leukaemia is a common type of blood cancer and can have an
effect on adults 10 times more as children. People diagnosed with leukaemia are normally people who
are over 50 years old. Leukaemia usually starts in the bone marrow, where blood cells are formed in
the body. The bone marrow forms three types of blood cells:
 White blood cells helps fight off infections and diseases.
 Red blood cells are responsible in carrying out oxygen throughout the body.
 Platelets support in controlling bleeding by forming blood clots.
When you have leukaemia, the bone marrow produces uncommon white cells, which are known as
leukaemia cells. Once your body start producing these leukaemia cells, at first, ... Show more content

It is described, indistinctly, as the production of excessive white blood cell in the body. Due to the fact
that blood is a valuable part of the cardiovascular system, leukaemia affects the blood which the heart
eventually pumps throughout the whole body. Leukaemia, specifically acute leukaemia, causes
anaemia which leads to having severe low blood pressure, faster heart rate, stressing the heart and can
lead to congestive heart failure. If unattended, infections and sepsis, that may occur, can lead to the
person having a shock and rapid death. If given treatment for leukaemia that involves daily drug
intake, it may have an effect to your heart and cause multiple blood transfusions which leads to fluid
overload.
Leukaemia also has a negative effect on the circulatory system. The circulatory system consists of the
heart, blood and the blood vessels. This system produces white blood cells to help fight off infection
in the body. Leukaemia causes abnormal production of white blood cells, which can increase the
thickness of the blood and lead to clogging of the blood vessels. Also due to the overcrowding of
white blood cells produced by leukaemia, it can damage the other cells from fulfilling their role in the
body.
Leukaemia is produced in the bone marrow, which is connected to the muscle joint, once white cells

Essay about Geoffrey of Monmouth s Life of Merlin
Geoffrey of Monmouth s Life of Merlin
Geoffrey of Monmouth s Life of Merlin is a text that makes its readers struggle with finding criteria
for madness. What does it even mean to be mad? Madness seems to define a person only when he or
she does something to stray from the normality of any given group of people. Breaking societal norms
often leaves people open to criticism and suspicion. In order to be sane and mentally healthy, one has
to abide by all explicit and implicit rules of society. Life of Merlin is about a man that abandons feudal
society, and all of its rules, in hopes of finding a better place to live. A better place to live, for him, is
one that is purely good. Violent and deceitful people are ultimately the ... Show more content on

This thought leaves him to blame the humans responsible for it. Merlin claims that whole kingdoms
feared the same men that died. Therefore, people within the kingdom are responsible for such
slaughter, not fate alone. Fear was the driving force that ultimately led to violence. It is on this logical
basis that Merlin fears humanity. If fear alone can drive humans to kill other humans, then Merlin
fears for his life and the life of others. Logical considerations, rather than mad ideas, compel Merlin to
abandon feudal society. If one sees Merlin as sane and logical, then one might even begin to see the
people of the kingdom as mad. This leaves the reader with the possibility that the society surrounding
Merlin is mad, not Merlin himself.
Besides Merlin s logic for leaving, for fear of a violently mad society, the reader can also see how the
deceptive nature of humans in feudal society is reasonable enough for leaving. Merlin s summary of a
doorman s life gives the reader a better explanation of how much his extra worldly perception haunts
him. Merlin explains, The doorman in front of the gates was sitting in shabby clothes and was begging
passers by to give him money or buying clothes. Yet all the time he was secretly rich, for he had a
secret hoard of coins under him (79). Most people would walk by the doorman and believe him to be a
true poor person. Merlin, however, has

An Analysis Of Joni Mitchell s A Child s Journey
Analysis
Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar....
Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when you re older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams (Mitchell, 1970)
In this expressive song, Joni Mitchell tells the story of a child s journey to adulthood. The lyrics
convey parents high hopes for their child s future. Then one day, a health care provider informs the
parents that their child has cancer, a life threatening illness. The overwhelming devastation, disbelief,
anger, sadness, guilt and denial impact their very existence (Cancer Council Victoria, 2014). Worry,
anxiety, and subsequent post traumatic stress symptoms affect parental treatment decision making.
Confronting the reality, attempts to gain control and the need for information (Gibbins Beinart, 2012,
p. 256) are coping mechanisms to deal with their moral burden when deciding their child s oncological
treatments. An important concept dealing with this moral burden affecting the parents decision making
is confronting the reality of the diagnosis. An overwhelming sense of helplessness affects parents
when their child is diagnosed with cancer. Parents reported being initially shocked, scared, frightened,
in despair, upset, and overwhelmed (Stewart, Pyke Grimm, Kelly, 2012). They question whether their
child s illness is because of genetic heritage or an unhealthy lifestyle. Furthermore, they

  • 2. Porter s Five Forces Model Of Comparative Analysis In Rwanna The Rwandan women entrepreneurs therefore, should perform a comparative Analysis, as part of an external inspection to identify rival firms and determine their strengths, weaknesses, capabilities, opportunities, threats, objectives, and strategies. Porter s Five Forces Model of competitive analysis is a widely used approach for developing strategies in many industries. According to Porter, the nature of competitiveness in a given industry can be viewed as a combination of five forces: Rivalry among competing firms, potential entry of new competitors, and potential development of substitute products, bargaining power of suppliers and bargaining power of consumers. • 3. Interview As A Personal Interview Stanley Seat is a Biology major attending the University of Maryland. Throughout my interview process with Stanley, I found common themes of a person who would like to expand their interpersonal relationships through adventure and experiences. What I take away from Stanley s interview is that he genuinely cares about helping others, and surrounding himself with people who would do the same. Stanley wants to grow up to become a doctor/healthcare administrators, and throughout the interview I saw important traits of a person who would excel in that role. Traits such as being a caring, insightful, strategic, and productive person are all traits found in his responses, and would be essential for his professional career. He hopes to work hard at the University of Maryland in order to get into graduate school. Although Stanley is extremely dedicated to his work, he doesn t let that consume his life. When asked about the kind of people he would like to be surrounded by, he responds with I like to be around adventurous people who know how to have fun and live life to the fullest. I don t want to regret not doing something or always wonder what would have been. This response really speaks to his ideology of a finite amount of time. I feel like he believes that you can t live your life cooped up in a bubble. The only thing you have as a take away from life when you grow older is your family, and the experiences that you accumulate throughout your life. You can t just sit idle while ... • 4. Summary Of Her Third Marriage And Tea Cake Woods Her third marriage was to Vergible Tea Cake Woods. This marriage was a choice and Janie was highly cautious before deciding to be with him. Similarly to Joe she did not know what to expect from being with Tea Cake. Janie went into this marriage having hopes of achieving true love and her idea of marriage. She hoped that she would be able to put her values first and that she did. Tea Cake and Janie gone hunting. Tea Cake and Janie gone fishing. Tea Cake and Janie gone to Orlando to the movies. Tea Cake and Janie gone to a dance. Tea Cake making flower beds in Janie s yard and seeding the garden for her. Chopping down that tree she never did like by the dining room window. All those signs of possession. Tea Cake in a borrowed car teaching Janie to drive. Tea Cake and Janie playing checkers; playing coon can; playing Florida flip on the store porch all afternoon as if nobody else was there. Day after day and week after week. (Hurston 129). Tea Cake was about 12 years younger than Janie, which is probably why he was so free and adventurous. He was not as traditional as Logan and Joe. Tea Cake allowed her the freedom and support she needed. He allowed exploration of her self identity. Unlike her other husbands, Tea Cake was encouraging. He encouraged her to follow her own interests and with that she was fulfilled. Although she was fulfilled with Tea Cake and able to openly explore her values, he was similar to her other husband s in many ways. Tea Cake was controlling in that ... • 5. Essay on Aztec and Inca Religious Zeal Aztec and Inca Religious Zeal The Aztec and Inca peoples lived in militaristic and expansionist societies whose ideals were fueled by their religious convictions. Expansionism was necessary for both societies to support their religious beliefs. The religious zeal of these two civilizations became something that the leaders of the empires could not control. These empires were built through ideologically driven conquests, which became the cornerstones of their societies and something beyond the control of the rulers. Every imperialistic nation has a motive for expansion. Military, materialism, and missionary are three of the biggest motives foe expansion that imperialistic countries use to expand their borders. Conquests ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This required the Mexicas to go out and make war with their neighbors and then ruthlessly take prisoners of war for later sacrifice. It was believed that the strength from the sacrificed captives souls would strengthen the sun in its ongoing battle with the forces of darkness (Conrad, 38). This need for the sun to constantly be appeased set the Mexica people out on divine missions for sacrificial bodies that took the form of imperial conquests. Mexica rulers flooded their lands with propaganda that promoted their imperialistic religion. Most of the Aztec s art and literature was made up of this propaganda, which created this religious fervor among the people that grew beyond the control of the ruling elites. Oral literature, monumental art, written codices, and public and private ceremonies instilled and continually reinforced belief in the divine struggle and the unceasing need for sacrificial victims (Conrad, 51). Furthermore, religious zeal was strengthened by the guarantee that immortality would be granted to warriors who died in the divine quest and increased social standing awaited those who faired well in wars (Conrad, 52). The Aztec empire was conquering new lands but not staying to govern them. Moctezuma II inherited not only a tradition of glorious military achievement but also its product: a far flung, loosely organized, and totally unstable imperial hegemony (Conrad, 60). Moctezuma II recognized this problem with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Philosophy Of Moral Relativism In the beginning of the semester, we were given an ethical inventory and I felt fairly confident with my results. I ve never taken an ethics class before, so I was very interested in learning about different philosophies. I came to class with an opened mind and eager with curiosity and was intrigued by the many different philosophical theories. This newfound information influenced my current stance when re taking the inventory. There were a few questions which I had a change of heart in, most of these questions circled around the philosophy of moral relativism and moral absolutism. At the start of the course, I believed that right and wrong was not determined by one s culture. I believed that every being acknowledges that there are certain overarching morals, i.e., thou shalt not kill. By the end of the course, I changed my opinion on the matter; this change is influenced by the philosopher, Ruth Benedict. Benedict s philosophy of moral relativism states that morality is culturally relative morality is dependent upon what is socially approved, and that good varies among different societies. Each society has their own expectations of behavior, and that in turn molds the morality of the individual. For example, an individual being brought up in Nazi Germany will view the treatment of Jews as normal , not batting an eye, in seeing them murdered. Cultural Experience Reflection Paper Cultural Experience Reflection: Spain, Healing Dirt, and Amores Perros When learning a new language, educating, experiencing, and learning about the culture behind the language is paramount. It is not simple enough to learn the vocabulary and grammar of Spanish. As a Spanish 1010 student, my learning experience has been enriched through participating in cultural events. Furthermore, I gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for the language and native speakers. Over the last semester, I participated in the following three cultural experiences: traveling to Spain, attending the Healing Dirt event, and watching the movie Amores Perros. Fortunately for me, these three events covered a variety of issue areas (e.g., religious traditions, language dynamics, and machismo); additionally, each event was based in different Spanish speaking countries. Over the past summer, I traveled to Spain and was able experienced the culture and traditions of the Hispanic people for two weeks. I was struck by how language and cultural heritage played a major role in shaping the experiences of Hispanic people. The role of language plays a huge role in shaping the experiences and lives of the people living in Barcelona. In the city of Barcelona, Catalan and Spanish are the languages spoken. Furthermore, the government only provides free education to learn Catalan, not Spanish. This preservation of the Catalonian culture represents the ongoing effort of the Catalonians to gain independence from Spain. Through preserving the native Catalonian language through law and education, these Hispanic people show how they adamantly defend their heritage and place high value on preserving Catalonian culture. I recognized the respect the other Barcelonans had for the Catalonian people. Though their cultures have many fundamental differences, the non Catalonians living in Barcelona learn how to speak Catalan in order to communicate, but also to validate the integrity of their cross culture interactions. This enables an open discussion politically and socially on the issues both cultures bring to the discussion. After traveling through Spain, I was inspired by the people to learn how to speak ... From identity, conformity to bullying, the topics of Stargirl cover everything under the Mica sun. Conformity is touched after everyone in Mica Area High School is described as conformists, blending into one another. Identity is challenged by Stargirl as she breaks away from conformity. Bullying makes its debut after the kids at MAHS reject Stargirls quirky ways. Overall, the Stargirl novel puts a fresh take on the underlining theme most people aren t true to themselves unless they are confident. To begin, Stargirl defies the term normal throughout the novel with her identity as the quirky over the top person she is. She laughed when there was no joke. She a danced when there was no music. She had no friends, but was the friendliest person in school (Page 15, Spinelli). Analyzing Political Corruption and its Effects on the Mexican Economy Gyadisha Sulvaran Palm Beach State College Macroeconomics Warren Smith 4th of April 2014 Abstract For macroeconomics, we were given an assignment to examine and analyze the causes of the business cycle in foreign economies. We were divided into groups of 6 and were given the instructions to randomly select a continent. Our continent was North America. We had to choose between Canada and Mexico. The reason why we decided to choose Mexico is because of its economy trade with the US, their migration flow, the interesting influence on oil prices worldwide and the impact that the drug cartels have on Mexican politicians. Mexico is known for being one of the world s most corrupt nations but somehow they still manage to have one of the best industrializing economies in Latin America. The causes for a country s business cycle can be either endogenous or exogenous. Throughout this paper, the internal problem of political corruption will be analyzed and discussed in order to determine Mexico s economic stage. Introduction Between 175 countries, Mexico is ranked as the 103rd most corrupt nation worldwide. Corruption has become the cancer of Mexico. Organized crimes and corruption are linked with each other and cannot operate without one another. The strength of these forces influenced people for centuries, and determined which individuals thrived when illness spread. Although this model has only recently emerged, the hierarchy that existed in every point in time shows that the model is accurate for its role in shaping overall health. Historically, those in power were the first to receive treatment or prophylaxis against illness. Those who could not contribute to the economy nor had a voice in politics were always at the greatest risk for disease. Darwin s theory of evolution can be applied to the political economy model of disease because the fittest individuals at a given time will overcome the challenges posed by the economic and political demands. In modern times, this model is woven between the complexities of economic development and the emergence of diseases that cause health decline. The state of the political environment surrounding health and economics ultimately drives which issues are of most concern. In United States politics, stem cell research, abortion, birth control, and cancer are important and controversial health related topics. The reason these topics get the most attention is because they have the potential to stimulate or hinder the economy, and create progress or partitions throughout the country. When applying this model to smallpox, it is understood that the demand for vaccination and eradication was stemmed from political motives. The desire to end worldwide epidemics was appropriated through the global contributions that occurred hand in hand with foreign policies that provided economic gain. • 17. Quest For An Earthly Paradise And The Anticipation Of A... Lamentation and Hope in the Depiction of Paradise The quest for an earthly paradise and the anticipation of a heavenly one is a drive that has always prevailed in humankind s search for God and redemption from the original sin. The desire for a terrestrial manifestation of paradise, a so called lost origin is predominantly reflected in writers depictions of the fall of man. This can be seen in Milton s Paradise Lost and Lucy Hutchinson s Order and Disorder. Both these epic poems at times magnify the sadness and gravity of the loss of a paradisal home in which Adam and Eve as our fore parents dwelt under God s close guidance and love. The fascination with Eden s bliss is manifested in Adam and Eve s admiration, however it also extends to Satan s various instances of questioning his own actions in the shadow of such beauty. Perhaps crucial to both interpretations of the fall of man is that the knowledge gained from the forbidden fruit is the realization of loss, the sudden true appreciation of the beauty of a paradise that is now lost. On the other hand the promise of redemption is provided through God s mercy in Death, thus allowing for a hope and anticipation of a heavenly paradise. This portrayal of a merciful God in Paradise Lost and Order and Disorder, grows out of man s search for redemption and a desire to be united with God in a heavenly paradise. Some poets, like William Butler Yeats, wrote about the horrors of rebellion they encountered; others, like Wilfred Owen, were part of the dreadful World War I and were urged by their memories to start writing ( Wilfred Owen ). Both were part of the modernist movement, of which Yeats is often regarded as one of the founders. Secondly, this poem is fitting for the Modernist movement because it expresses what millions of people might have felt after the soldiers started shooting each other and all hell broke loose: it was the end of the world as they knew it. The part about the millions of people is important for this point, because Modernists like Yeats desired to move away from the personal towards the intellectual or collective. The poem criticizes the war by using cryptic images that are clear enough to convey their true meaning: Yeats was shocked at what had happened to his world. While Ireland was no part of the World War, the violent Easter Rising took place in 1916, when Ireland tried to break free from the British domination ( The 1916 Easter Rising ). Yeats, a Dubliner, was there to experience it himself. Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum est , on the other hand, did not paint a very poetic picture of the war; instead, it illustrates in a gruesome and to the point manner how horrible it was, while still fitting in with the Modernist movement. This poem tells in harsh words the story of young soldiers like Owen himself, who were stuck in the trenches when they were attacked with poison gas. The Importance Of Being Earnest Analysis The play, The Importance of Being Earnest written by Oscar Wilde, describes two main protagonists living in 1890 s England, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff (Algy), who, for the sake of love, both use the same name (Ernest) to conceal their true identity. Algy has a cousin named Gwendolen Fairfax, whom Jack is in deep love with. On the other hand, Algy falls in love with Jack s ward, who is Cecily Cardew. At first, everything goes well, until both Jack and Algy end up together in the country, leading to a comedy of mistaken identities. The play uses satire to ridicule the issues such as money, marriage, and social status during the Victorian Age. The upper class society of the Victorian period can be exemplified by the characters to give us knowledge and understanding of the play. One scene where Lady Bracknell disapproves of Algernon s proposal to Cecily because she thinks that Cecily does not possess a lot of money nor social status. As such, Wilde believes that the Upper class Victorian society should not take trivial matters such as money, marriage, social status, and appearance seriously. According to Wilde, Lady Bracknell disapproves Algernon s proposal to Cecily because she thinks that Cecily is not nearly good enough for Algernon. This is evident by the line: Ah! A life crowded with incident, I see; though perhaps somewhat too exciting for a young girl. I am not myself in favour of premature experiences (Wilde). As Lady Bracknell is the quintessence of society in the Victorian era, she believes that social status and wealth is of the utmost importance and that marrying someone without money is intolerable. Jack, knowing that Lady Bracknell is a materialistic person, persuades her sarcastically, Oh! About a hundred and thirty thousand pounds in the Funds. That is all. Goodbye, Lady Bracknell. • 27. Public Health Association Of Australia I would like to suggest further options that can be adopted by the present Government. Nationwide free information sessions (communicative intervention) targeting pregnant women in antenatal clinics and parents in schools should be organised about 2 3 times per year. These sessions would stress on explaining the expected benefits and importance of vaccinations, with question time periods to enable parents to clear out any doubts. Take home informative brochures would also be designed and distributed. Improving access (facilitative intervention) to parents from remote and rural areas is also another good way to ensure immunisation uptake. Another good idea would be to distribute food vouchers (distributive approach) to parents coming from the distant rural areas. We could also focus on monitoring the spread of vaccine preventable diseases, via the ACIR, so as to detect any outbreak at the earliest possible and take the necessary preventive measures (communicative intervention). Policy actors in favour Probable actors in favour of resolving the issue would be the World Health Organisation, the Public Health Association of Australia, members of the Government (in particular those working in the Immunise Australia Program), and health professionals (in particular doctors). These interest groups would have different objectives which could be achieved by supporting issues that lead to the increase in childhood immunisation uptake. Political systems differ in terms of the governance, power and the rule of law. A political regime can be defined as structures, activities and processes by which given countries in the world govern themselves. Political systems can be based on either collectivism or individualism. It is essential for business to look at a country s political environment as a vital criterion in venturing or expanding the business or company to that country. According to research, commerce prospers or is successful when business sector includes independently owned companies that exist to make and increase profits (Axtmann 89). This makes the country a stable business environment of international companies. Democratic political system business laws ensures all businesses especially in the private sectors are independent in that they carry out their own business operations with the intent of making profits and revenues; thus grows and improves the economy. In a totalitarianism political system, there is a difference in that this form of government has vague business laws. There is no guarantee that international enterprises would prosper in countries practicing this government. For example in North Korea, the business laws are nebulous in that multinational companies are not protected. The international firms can be taken by the government, and this occurs when there are international issues or wrong movements by the companies. This shows that it is risky to do business with totalitarian nations such as North Korea; thus it is not a conducive environment for international companies or businesses. • 32. Compare And Contrast Africa And American Colonialism Unfortunately, Africa and American both experienced colonialism a long time ago. Colonialism, after all, is a political system in which an external nation takes complete control of a territory in another area of the world. Moreover, the colonized people do not invite the colonial power, nor do they have any say in how they are governed. Colonialism is by definition and practiced un democratic! The displeasure experience brings them a lot of similarities, and the same time, it brings them some differences as well. Africa and America have the similarities on what the invaders wanted from them their natural resources. Colonial regimes concentrated on finding and exploiting the most profitable natural resources in each colony of Africa. In mineral rich colonies, the emphasis was placed on mining. In other territories, the colonial power identified agricultural products suitable for export to Europe. The prominence in either case, was on developing the resources for export, not for local use or consumption. Profits from the export of mineral and agricultural goods were also sent to Europe. Profits that could have been used to promote social and economic development in the colonies were not available. The small taxes levied on exports went to support colonial rule. For America, European imported the squashes, pumpkins, and corn etc. so that their health standard grew higher. The Europeans also loved fur, so beaver pelts were one of the exchange items as well. And later, the three continents fell into a triangle trade system, which involved three journeys each with the promise of a large profit and a full cargo. In reality, the journey was more complicated with ships travelling from all over Europe carrying manufactured goods to different ports along the African coast to trade for slaves. The ships from Africa then sailed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean and Americas to trade the slaves for raw materials. Finally, the ships from America returned to Europe with raw materials such as sugar, tobacco, rice and cotton. Africa and America are different in the way that the colonialism developed. To Europeans, Africa was more like a method in the trading system. They not only got the natural resources from it, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The cause and effect relationship between acquiring an asset and the incurrence of interest cost makes interest cost analogous to a direct cost that is readily and objectively assignable to the acquired asset. Failure to capitalize the interest cost associated with the acquisition of qualifying assets improperly reduces reported earnings during the period of acquisition and increases reported earnings in later periods. Apply to Guidance: When financing the construction of a building, the interest should be capitalized as part of the cost of the building. This would more adequately match revenues and expenses in the period in which they are earned. When the building is being used and the cost thereof is being allocated via depreciation, the expenses would adequately reflect the cost of the building and include a portion of the interest that was incurred as the building was being constructed. • 34. Esters Lab Flavor Lab Leslie Perez FST 426L.1 Purpose The objective of this experiment is to prepare and identify several types of esters by the process of dehydration synthesis using an alcohol with an acid. Introduction The process by which esters are formed is a reversible reaction called esterification. They are formed when alcohols react with carboxylic acids in the presence of hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid. This reaction is known as a condensation reaction. In the reaction above, the hydroxyl group ( OH) in the carboxylic acid is replaced by the alkoxy group ( R*O) of the alcohol yielding an ester and water. Esters are used as constituents of perfumes, cosmetics, and surfactants, just to mention a few examples. In addition to this they are used in the food industry for flavoring of sweet and margarine. In the article, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Table 1 shows the different alcohols and acids used for the production of esters. The name of the esters is shown in the last column of this table as well as how the team member identified the odors of the ester produced. Table 2 shows the results for all 5 groups in the class. Most of the esters produced in this laboratory experiment were easily identified as specific fragances such as banana, wintergreen, and menthol. It is shown in the table, that banana was the most identified one followed by tube M and tube A. The rest of the esters, E and B, had more variability in the identification of esters while C was identified as mouthwash, which can be associated to the menthol flavor and odor. Ester in tube B was the hardest to be identified according to Table 2, since it had 4 different associated smells to it. Students identified one of the odors as expo marker which can be due to experimental error in which the ester did not fully react and the solution smelled more like alcohol (ethanol or isopropanol), which are ingredients that most dry erase markers such as the brand Expo ... People diagnosed with leukaemia are normally people who are over 50 years old. Leukaemia usually starts in the bone marrow, where blood cells are formed in the body. The bone marrow forms three types of blood cells:  White blood cells helps fight off infections and diseases.  Red blood cells are responsible in carrying out oxygen throughout the body.  Platelets support in controlling bleeding by forming blood clots. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is described, indistinctly, as the production of excessive white blood cell in the body. Due to the fact that blood is a valuable part of the cardiovascular system, leukaemia affects the blood which the heart eventually pumps throughout the whole body. Leukaemia, specifically acute leukaemia, causes anaemia which leads to having severe low blood pressure, faster heart rate, stressing the heart and can lead to congestive heart failure. If unattended, infections and sepsis, that may occur, can lead to the person having a shock and rapid death. If given treatment for leukaemia that involves daily drug intake, it may have an effect to your heart and cause multiple blood transfusions which leads to fluid overload. Leukaemia also has a negative effect on the circulatory system. The circulatory system consists of the heart, blood and the blood vessels. This system produces white blood cells to help fight off infection in the body. Leukaemia causes abnormal production of white blood cells, which can increase the thickness of the blood and lead to clogging of the blood vessels. Also due to the overcrowding of white blood cells produced by leukaemia, it can damage the other cells from fulfilling their role in the body. • 37. Essay about Geoffrey of Monmouth s Life of Merlin Geoffrey of Monmouth s Life of Merlin Geoffrey of Monmouth s Life of Merlin is a text that makes its readers struggle with finding criteria for madness. What does it even mean to be mad? Madness seems to define a person only when he or she does something to stray from the normality of any given group of people. Breaking societal norms often leaves people open to criticism and suspicion. In order to be sane and mentally healthy, one has to abide by all explicit and implicit rules of society. Life of Merlin is about a man that abandons feudal society, and all of its rules, in hopes of finding a better place to live. A better place to live, for him, is one that is purely good. Violent and deceitful people are ultimately the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This thought leaves him to blame the humans responsible for it. Merlin claims that whole kingdoms feared the same men that died. Therefore, people within the kingdom are responsible for such slaughter, not fate alone. Fear was the driving force that ultimately led to violence. It is on this logical basis that Merlin fears humanity. If fear alone can drive humans to kill other humans, then Merlin fears for his life and the life of others. Logical considerations, rather than mad ideas, compel Merlin to abandon feudal society. If one sees Merlin as sane and logical, then one might even begin to see the people of the kingdom as mad. This leaves the reader with the possibility that the society surrounding Merlin is mad, not Merlin himself. Besides Merlin s logic for leaving, for fear of a violently mad society, the reader can also see how the deceptive nature of humans in feudal society is reasonable enough for leaving. Merlin s summary of a doorman s life gives the reader a better explanation of how much his extra worldly perception haunts him. Merlin explains, The doorman in front of the gates was sitting in shabby clothes and was begging passers by to give him money or buying clothes. Yet all the time he was secretly rich, for he had a secret hoard of coins under him (79). Most people would walk by the doorman and believe him to be a true poor person. Merlin, however, has ... • 38. An Analysis Of Joni Mitchell s A Child s Journey Analysis Yesterday a child came out to wonder Caught a dragonfly inside a jar.... Then the child moved ten times round the seasons Skated over ten clear frozen streams Words like, when you re older, must appease him And promises of someday make his dreams (Mitchell, 1970) In this expressive song, Joni Mitchell tells the story of a child s journey to adulthood. The lyrics convey parents high hopes for their child s future. Then one day, a health care provider informs the parents that their child has cancer, a life threatening illness. The overwhelming devastation, disbelief, anger, sadness, guilt and denial impact their very existence (Cancer Council Victoria, 2014). Worry, anxiety, and subsequent post traumatic stress symptoms affect parental treatment decision making. Confronting the reality, attempts to gain control and the need for information (Gibbins Beinart, 2012, p. 256) are coping mechanisms to deal with their moral burden when deciding their child s oncological treatments. An important concept dealing with this moral burden affecting the parents decision making is confronting the reality of the diagnosis. An overwhelming sense of helplessness affects parents when their child is diagnosed with cancer. Parents reported being initially shocked, scared, frightened, in despair, upset, and overwhelmed (Stewart, Pyke Grimm, Kelly, 2012). They question whether their child s illness is because of genetic heritage or an unhealthy lifestyle. Furthermore, they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
