Homeless People Could Be a Great Resource
Have you ever felt so angry when you gave someone the money that you worked very hard to
earn, and then he or she wasted it on some unacceptable purposes? Yes, it has been one of my first
lessons since I immigrated to the United States. During January of 2012, most of the weekdays,
my brother gave a homeless man some quarters or one dollar when we were going to work. This
homeless man stood in an intersection and begged for charity from the public. However, my
brother met him at a convenient store, and witnessed him buying some lotteries. Should this
homeless man spend his beggingmoney on gambling or on daily necessities such as foods and a
place to sleep? Another example is a homeless man who bought three houses and had four wives
with some children from public charity has been charged for tax problems. These men are a part of
the large population of homeless citizens in the United States. According to the National Alliance to
End Homelessness, the amount of homeless is roughly estimated to be between 2.3 million and
3.5 million people. That is approximately 1 in 100 people living without a home or living on the
streets every night with no job, no car, and no responsibilities. Obviously, we need to figure out a
way to fix these homeless problems. Many experts have discussed and suggested uncounted
solutions. However, we could easily fix the homeless problem by gathering them and using them as
a resource. As I mentioned, homeless people could be a great resource. Just

Ethical Theories Of Normative Ethics
Over the last couple of weeks in Philosophy 103, we learned five theories concerning normative
ethics: utilitarianism, duty ethics, virtue ethics, care ethics, and natural law ethics. While learning
about those theories, I often thought about how the arguments for some theories included
interesting ideas that I personally agreed with, but the methods of reasoning were somewhat
lacking. Contrastingly, I encountered theories with arguments that were not thought provoking
ideas at first, but I became acclimated to them due to the logical and well thought out
methodologies. In this essay, I will argue for my own normative ethical theory; an act is right if it
is virtuous and conductive towards relationships with other people and wrong if it is... Show more

A person who practices virtue attempts to live a well balanced and stable life. While I recognize
Aristotle s argument, the argument itself presents people as isolated human beings who try to be
virtuous, or at least attempt to, with no consideration of how our interactions with others affect us
and, therefore, affect what is considered right and wrong.
The lack of reflection on how interpersonal relationships affect morality is where Virginia Held s
view completes my normative ethical theory. Her view of care ethics establishes the importance of
relationships with others, as people depend on one another to some capacity. Virginia Held declares
that an act is right if it nurtures a relationship and wrong if it does not. What is significant about
Held s methodology is that it considers the feminine perspective of caring for someone, which many
philosophers did not consider when making their arguments. The importance of interpersonal
relationships in care ethics is something that is certainly applicable to this day and age. With new
technology and globalization, our capacity to interact with others has greatly increased, and to
dismiss our connectedness while making a normative ethical theory in the modern era would be
irrational. Aristotle s virtue ethics and care ethics could then be

1: breathing breathing is something we don t always do correctly and breath control is and
essential part of every techniques. If we don t breath correctly then we lose the benefits of
exercise. When we breath we should make sure we are doing it correctly by taking air fully into
your lung space and not our abdominal space. Breath control makes us become aware of our
bodies. This means we regain control and correcting the bad habits we have gotten so use too.
2: centring its important to find the centre of the powerful core muscles. Everybody has a centre of

Summary Of The Fires Of Jubilee
In The Fires of Jubilee, Stephen B. Oates takes the story of Nat Turner s slave rebellion and
insurrection attempt in Southampton County, Virginia. With detail account from Thomas R. Gray
s interview with Nat, and historical eye witness testimonies, Oates really brings Nat Turner s
upbringing and his fierce rebellion to life. From the story that you get from the South after Nat s
rebellion was one of harmony between slaves and their masters. That Virginia and the rest of the
South was appalled that something like this could happen. From blaming everything from
abolitionist to Quakers, Southerners never wanted to admit that the institution of slaverywas the
cause of Nat s rebellion. During Gray s interview with Nat Turner, he spoke for... Show more

By this time people of Virginia believed he had escaped. But when Nat made himself seen at
someone he thought he could trust they knew he was in the area. Nat was caught in a hole made
by a fallen tree, he was fixing his cover when he looked up and was caught by Benjamin Phipps.
Nat while in jail learned of the fates of his Lieutenants . All were tried and hanged, this too would
be the fate of Nat Turner. Nat was also flayed, beheaded and quartered to serve as an example to

In the aftermath of the rebellion, Virginia legislatures used the colonization bill against free
blacks to remove them from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Also, they used the police bill that

T4 Phage Research Paper
Bacteriophages (or in short, Phages) are viruses that solely infect bacteria, in fact, each Phage
can only infect a very specific type of bacteria in order to survive and replicate. like other viruses,
Phages need a bacterial host in order to replicate their viral DNA , RNA etc... Phages are also
named after the strain of bacteriawhich they infect eg: coli phages infect the bacteria E coli. each
Phage can vary in shape and size but they all contain Capsids (protein coats) which surround their
viral nucleic acid. We have already looked at the structure of a bacteriophage, the T4 Phage, with
it s tail fibres and base plate which help it attach itself to bacteria. When a Phage is attached to it s
target, it will then insert a hollow tube where... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
meanwhile a protein will be produced which will cause the cell wall to undergo lysis (it will burst)
allowing the newly replicated Phages to infect other cells.
The other cycle is the lysogenic cycle, which does not involve the lysis of the host cell but rather
integrate with its bacterial chromosome, creating a prophage which has the capacity of producing
other Phages. This also means that whenever the bacteria undergoes mitosis, its daughter cells will
also have the prophage.
Whilst the study of Phage therapy was temporarily abandoned by the US and some European
nations (due to the discovery of antibiotics) in Russia, Phage therapy is mainly used to fight
against antibiotic resistant bacteria. They are also used for identifying bacteria ( a process known
as Phage typing). It can also be used to prolong the freshness of food, as bacteria causes food to
spoil faster. They can also be used as vehicles for vaccine delivery carrying vaccine antigens and
reacting with their specific bacteria. This means that scientists are also trying to use Phages to
combat cancerous diseases, modifying the biosynthetic machinery so that they target the mutated
cancer

Are Data Algorithms And Algorithms Can Be Been Solving...
Traditional statisticians have been solving data problems for years. Example, when faced with the
large data problem statisticians had a simple and proven technique to solve the problem by
sampling the records. This is a sound methodology as the statisticians could prove statistically that a
representative or random sample could speak for the whole population. The only problem was that
when stakeholders wanted to drill down into the details they inevitably had to query the whole file.
The reality is that data scientists run various data miningtechniques and various algorithms that can
accommodate both large and small files. However, companies may want to consider examining
and cleansing the data they collect before running their analyses. This brings up the question of
whether or not big data methods and algorithms can be considered reliable. Data quality is still a
challenge even in the world of big data.
The reality is that he world of big data is somewhat messy. Given data is collected so fast and is
usually unprocessed (raw) it may be incomplete versus most traditional transactional data. Data may
be missing many values or may contain incomplete records. Customer profiles may even be
incomplete. Many companies embark upon a formal data cleansing strategy before or after placing
data into their big data environment.
Cleansing data initiatives vary among companies because it costs time and money. Spending time
up front to cleanse data can pay off, in the end, resulting

Facebook Password Essay
Sharing Facebook Password
Employers and schools nowadays evaluate applicants from their social media accounts. For
example, the applicant s Facebook profile could be used to get information such as age, residence
and even academic history. What worries Joanna Stern in the article, Demanding Facebook
Passwords May Break Law, Say Senators is the fact that employers and schools require employees
and students to give their Facebook passwords to access their profiles. This practice poses
unanticipated legal liabilities. Thus, government officials have rose against the practice. Indeed,
requiring a user to share Facebook account s password for access to the user s profile is morally
wrong and does not meet its intended objective.
The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such information could cause organizations to make wrong conclusions on a user based on the
wrongful information on the user.
However, this practice has been noted to be beneficiary in understanding the character of an
employee or student. Going through their profiles would reveal more on their relationships and
interactions with other people. This would help organizations get the rightful applicants because
an error in this could result in irreparable harm. Even so, as this practice becomes widespread,
people would always clean their accounts before interviews to depict the needful and erase the
undesired. This way, employers and schools would not gather useful information as the profile
would have been customized to impress. Additionally, people could operate Facebook accounts to
be used for interviews. Such accounts would contain what would be considered desirable for
interviewers. They would have other accounts for normal socialization. Therefore, at the end of it,
interviewers who access their Facebook accounts get wrong information on the interviewee.
Despite the increased practice of requiring interviewees to provide passwords for their Facebook
accounts so as to analyze their profiles, the practice does not meet its goals. It is an infringement
into people s privacy thus illegal. More wrong than right information would be retrieved as most
people use disguised identities on social media.

Evolution Vs. Fossil Records
Evolution has been a widely known discussion that many people have had over the past century, the
theory of evolution has been welcomed by many scientists yet by some religious people it has been
a taboo topic. The thought or the motion to entertain that humans evolved from primates is what
some people would shudder and state that it goes against all their religious beliefs. However,
scientist have pushed on the fact that evolutionis not just a hypothetical or an outlandish theory but
a theory that has multiple hard evidence to back it and that to ignore is ignorance and just plain
stupidity. Four types of evidence of evolution are fossil records, genetic changes, the geographic
distribution of species, and the similarities in embryos of species. One of the evidences of
evolution is fossil records, with fossil records being the remains of plants and animals that scientist
have found in sedimentary rocks. Fossil records have given us irrefutable evidence of evolution in
the past, over a course of a long period of time, proving there is significant variation amongst living
things. Evolution is a continuum; all the minor changes over a period of time add up to a major
change. On the continuum, fossils are the points that displaying what the organism had become
after evolving at that stage in time.
Although fossil records are substantial evidence for evolution there are gaps in the fossil records
due to the fact of incompletion of the collecting data. As evolution is

Over the past 30 years, many states have enacted mandatory helmet laws for motorcycle drivers.
There have been many states that have rescinded these laws for reasons that may not be known by
those most interested the motorcycle rider him/herself. Currently, less than half of all U.S. states

The author is interested in discovering the reasoning that the powers that be chose to allow her to
have the freedom
Motorcycle Helmet Laws 4 to decide whether or not she will don a helmet prior to embarking on
a journey. Her hypotheses as to the reasons are probably so far off base that she would be
hesitant to admit them to another. Ultimately, her quest is to evaluate the writings and attempt
to discover if mandatory helmet laws do, indeed, decrease injuries and deaths as a result of a
motorcycle crash. There are a variety of reasons a motorcycle driver makes the decision as to
whether to wear a helmet while riding vs. not wearing one. Some of the factors that influence this
decision appear to be age, demographics (urban vs. rural living), and style and size of motorcycle.
Other factors involved are where the person is riding (highway, city, side streets, rural areas, etc.)
Weather conditions and time of day (early morning, rush hour, nighttime) also should be taken into
consideration. Maneuvering through hundreds of vehicles on the road and the rising or setting sun
in one s eyes have a bearing on how well a driver can see. The incidence of accidents that result in
injury and fatality has fluctuated with the enactment and rescinding of mandatory helmet use. The
United States federal government has had a vacillating approach to the use of motorcycle helmets
since 1967, when the National Highway Safety Act (NHSA) was first

Racism Through Blue Eye Analysis
Racism Through Blue Eyes Throughout the earliest half of the twentieth century, the American
way of life was marred with racial prejudices and acts of discrimination towards the African
Americans people and their culture. Not only were people of color demonized simply on the color
of their skin, but they were also made out to be a lesser human being when compared to those of
more wholesome ethnic backgrounds. The fact of the matter is, racismitself is a very complex issue
to discuss and analyze. In some cases, it is a deep seeded ideal that people always believe and
always display. Even though the African Americancommunity has made significant contribution to
society as a whole, that there are still narrow viewed people that wholeheartedly... Show more

When given this image, one immediately gets an image of what a perfect family would look
like, at least back in the 40s or 50s. Presenting this short story right off the bat really gives the
reader a clear message that emphasizes the things that would make a family truly a family.
However, almost immediately, we are introduced to a family that is completely opposite from
the ideal American family. That family, of course, would be the Breedloves. The Breedloves are
the complete polar opposite of an ideal American family. They never see eye to eye on anything,
never have fun times together, and always seem to have a strong disdain for each other. This can
be attributed to the sense of inferiority felt by the African American people towards themselves.
The Breedloves are an inferior family because they make themselves feel inferior. They make
themselves feel inferior because they are treated inferiorly by their fellow people. We see this
throughout the entire story. This whole principle of racial inferiority is indicative of a large scale
issue that was present during the years of strife for Civil rights throughout the twentieth century.
Why would Black people feel inferior? Because, at that time, they were made out to be inferior in
more ways than one. How should one feel when they are not even made out to be enough of a
human being to sit in the front of a bus, or use the same water fountain, or even go to school in the
same building as Caucasians? There s only one way to feel when being treated in such a manner:

Suicide In Edwidge Danticat s A Wall Of Fire Rising
Hope is salvation. It is the thing we seek in times of distress and hardship. But more often than
not we put our hope of a better future to be passed down to our next generation. Krik? Krak! By
Edwidge Danticat, is a collection of stories, which try their best to explain the tough challenges
Haitian people experience in Haiti and even outside of it. Because of these challenges and
hardships, Danticat portrays the idea of when people go through suffering , the hope of a better fate
lies in the future generation.
In A Wall of Fire Rising Guy foreshadows his feeling of suicideand his hope for Little Guy to

Why Do Kids Get A Trophy
Should a child get a trophy to make him happy or because he earned the trophy? People are

Link Between Cartoon And Caricature
Introduction
Cartoon or political genre depicts human s artistic ability of transforming ideas and knowledge into
pictures of his own choice. In the literature the terms cartoon and caricature are used
interchangeably and indiscriminately, which creates confusion. What then is the distinction
between a cartoon and a caricature? Historically, cartoon refers to the preparatory designs for a
large drawing or painting (Coupe 1967). The link between these two concepts can be traced back
to 1843 when John Leech described as cartoons the parodies he drew of the cartoons for the
frescos in the Houses of Parliament, London (Coup 1969). Streicher(1967) continues that what in
literature is satire, in pictorial art is caricature, satire typically deals with demonstration and
exposure of human vices or follies in order to scorn or ridicule humans; graphic caricatures ridicule

A Tale Of Commodities And Relevance
A Tale of Commodities and Relevance In Margaret Atwood s book, The Handmaid s Tale, the
women in the book often find themselves at the mercy of men and being used for the purpose of
fulfilling man s needs. They are more seen as property, than as humans themselves. The women
are systemically ranked for amount of use in the household and women who can give birth are
often high ranked, but not given much freedom. Over they do everything and are allowed
nothing. The woman are not allowed to read, have their own money, or to normal jobs outside
of being maids or cooks. The woman are often ranked in terms of colors with wives wearing
blue, handmaids wear red, Maratha s wearing green and Ecowives wearing stripes. The women
are often seen as commodities and only relevant to the needs of man. The Ceremony is the act in
which the Commander, his wife(Serena Joy), and the Handmaid(Offred) attempt to make a
baby. While the women are both needed to be present, nether are required to enjoy the act or to
orgasm, the man s orgasm is the only important part of the act, seeing as he need s to orgasm to
get Offred pregnant. When in turn the act for all three of them is simply a duty to be done.
Offred see s the act as her duty, because she is a Handmaid and that is her single goal: To get
pregnant, but she does recognize it is a goal and duty for the Commander also, This is not
recreation, even for the Commander. This is serious business. The Commander, too, is doing his
duty.

Evidence Based Practice Essay
In order to develop nursing knowledge and establish evidence based practice (EBP) in nursing,
there needs to be a concept model, one or more theories and one or more empirical indicators
(Fawcett DeSanto Madeya, 2013, p. 26). The theoretical framework can be advantageous in
guiding and supporting the design and execution of an EBP change. Using a conceptual model (C)
theory (T) and empirical research (E) provides the foundation for an intervention to an identified
clinical problem. Known as C T E structure, the application of this system in nursing practice
involves an elevated level of critical reasoning, which assists in knowing what data is important and
how it relates to practice change (Chinn Kramer, 2011; Fawcett DeSanto Madeya, 2013; Mazurek
Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2015). The doctoral level of nursing necessitates the need to combine the
understanding and knowledge gained from using the C T E structure, and then integrate the
concepts and theories into daily practice.
Concept
The concept of this EBP change project is compassion fatigue as it relates to nurses working in an
emergency department (ED) dealing with secondary trauma causing symptoms of compassion
fatigue (CF). Compassion is defined as the empathetic awareness of another s distress, united with
a desire to alleviate it (Merriam Webster s online dictionary, n.d.). Fatigue is the physical or mental

Persuasive Essay On Roofing Company
Choosing the right roofing company is especially important in the city of Portland. Anyone who
lives in the city knows of its damp and rainy weather, and knows that good roofing is essential to
keeping one s home dry and secure. To be sure, there are many roofing contractors to choose from
in the city; but choosing the best roofing contractor in Portland Oregon takes some thought and
diligence.
So, you re looking for a roofer. Well, here are some of the things may wantto consider before doing
so.
You certainly want to go with a roofing contractor who uses the best materials. Dampness and wind
wear down roofs quite quickly. Therefore you want to ensure that the contractor you re working
with is using roofing materials that can withstand such elements. Style is also important. You don t
want roof tiles or other materials that clash with the rest of your house or that are significantly out
of tune with other houses in your neighborhood. This is important because such stylistic differences
can have an effect on the value of your property.
Now, you don t want to pay exorbitant costs for this roofing material; so, you want to work with a
roofer who can help you stay with a certain budget. Indeed, it is important to think strategically

Argumentative Essay On Single Sex Schools
Single sex education has been becoming more popular in recent years. In 2002, the No Child Left
Behind Act was passed. This was a major turning point in the advancement of single sex schools
because it loosened government restrictions. Since 2002, about 95 single sex public schools have
been established (Novotney). Historically, single gendereducationhas been more prevalent in other
countries, such as New Zealand, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, than it is in the United States.
One reason that the United States has had far fewer single gender schools is because of the laws
concerning education that the states all follow. Also, single sex schools were not able to be
financially funded. This made it difficult for the United States to establish and continuously run
many single sex schools, especially government funded single sex public schools (Bigler and
Signorella 659). With the advancement of the number of single sex schools, questions and
controversies have arisen. Parents began questioning what type of education best suited their child.
Should parents send their children to coeducational institutions, or single gender institutions? In
which environment will students most succeed? While data has come up inconclusive in this
regard, it is still important for certain values to be taught in schools. Parents want their children to
succeed in their social skills, be tr. Coeducational schools are the best option for students to be
successful in school and in their future.

Chaffee s Cosmological Argument
Per Chaffee, the cosmological argument examines the orderly, coherent, and intelligible nature of
the cosmos and examines the proofs that are given by science and philosophers for God to have
designed the universe (Chaffee 338). He states that in the cosmological argument, the universe is
contingent or dependent on God to create it because upon examination of the universe, everything
owes its existenceto something else; following this logic, for the universe to exist, there must be
something that the universe owes its existence to (338). Theists claim that this reason for the
universe to be in existence is divine creation by an almighty, eternal, God. Chaffee continues on to
state the cosmological theory provides the basis for its argument... Show more content on

That is, when Russell claimed that the cosmological theory was invalid because that it offers no
explanation as to the origin of God, I stated that it was a sweeping generalization fallacy. He does
so by not considering the exception of the creation of God. In Craig s dissertation, he alludes to
an Uncaused First Cause and expands upon this idea by stating that it must transcend space and
time, since it created space and time (Craig). This means that because God existed before the
origin of space and time, he is exempt from the rules of space and time and therefore, does neither
need an origin to exist, nor have one. He is eternal in every aspect, infinite in existence. The
cosmological argument thus provides us with the grounds to believe in the existence of a
beginningless, uncaused, timeless, spaceless, changeless, immaterial, enormously powerful,
Personal Creator of the Universe (Craig). This explanation can point to none other than

American Civil Liberties are NOT Violated by the Patriot Act
As we face the threat of terrorism, how do we protect ourselves without hurting our freedoms?
Today, terrorism is a major threat to our homeland security and has become increasingly more
prevalent and difficult to monitor with the public s accessibility to communication and information
through today s technology. Terrorists are now able to communicate more freely with recent
technological advances. In an effort to combat this new threat, the government passed the Patriot

government, and we can t afford to have people lose their lives because part of the information is
in one department and part is in another department and they are not talking to each other (Frank,
2002, p. 1505).
The Patriot Act expands the pen register statute to include electronic communications and Internet
usage, which was previously limited to tracing of telephone numbers called by suspect criminals
(Olsen, 2001). In addition, this act allows the government to obtain warrants to examine what
people read in libraries and bookstores from records on what a person checks out or buys.
Moreover, the law allows the government to detain or deport suspects of terrorism as well as
monitor financial transcripts and electronic records. Recently, the federal court ruled to expand the
use of wiretaps and other surveillance techniques in tracking suspected terrorists under the Patriot
Act. The main part of the ruling is removing previously existing legal barriers between the FBI and
the Justice Department investigators, prosecutors and law enforcement personnel (Fox, November
2002).
Those opposed to the Patriot Act claim that it takes away our civil liberties and basic rights
afforded under the Constitution. Many argue that the bill was rushed through Congress and never
gave members time to go over it or interpret it (Demmer, 2002). According to one representative
who voted against the bill, the bill was never available to him to read before the

Integrated Marketing Communications Is Defined As A...
According to Ang (2014), Integrated Marketing Communications is defined as a research based,
audience focused, communication planning process that aims to execute a brand communication
program over time and this is achieved by coordinating different communication disciplines and
integrating the creative content across different media. The aim is to achieve short term financial
gain and long term brand equity. Since IMC is all about using different Media vehicles, the most
effective one is Television; such as Reality televisionshows which has many benefits and
contributions especially when it comes to creating a successful brand. There are two reality
television shows that has been analysed from the first part of this assignment and they are: Keeping
up with the Kardashians and My Kitchen Rules, which I will then discuss how it relates to branding.
Brand equity is important to create and maintain as it is an intangible asset of added value as well
as goodwill that will then result from the favourable image, impressions of differentiation and the
strength of consumer attachment to brand name, company name or trademark. The stronger the
equity the better it positions the company as well as its brand which is only often reinforced
through advertising or even sponsoring. For example, Breville appliances command good quality
kitchen appliances and represents higher price than the other brands as it is being used by the
contestants of My Kitchen Rules. In other words, it is the

Department Heads need to have their own continuity plans and be vocal about it by identifying
critical processes required for the same and ensure the department budget accounts for continuity.
Based on the estimated costs by each department, the University upper management needs to
approve overall funding for business continuity.
In case of the university, one of the essential functions is power and network. The university
needs to create processes that clearly define how power would be restored in case of outage to
indicate the level of resilience. These processes also determine security of the building as a
whole. For example, does the building go into automatic lockdown or only sections of the building
go into lockdown but others are open for people to leave and so on. Thus, the process layer will
determine the exact actions and give directions for the emergency response team.

Air Pollution Of Beijing And China
Abstract:
In the past few years, the air pollution in Beijing becomes more and more serious. Frequent smog
weather cause social disordered and serious harm to the health of residents. The number of
respiratory diseases increased. Citizens live in a bad living condition. Because of the smog, we
have to stop all outdoor works and activities. It also caused great economic losses. So we must do
some thing to control the air pollution.
Keywords: air pollution, control measures, Beijing
Introduction:
As is well known and commonly accepted, Beijing, as the capital of China, is famous for its
magnificent cultural heritage around the world. However, the problem of air pollution in Beijing is
also the focus of attention.
The air pollution in Beijing has a long history. Trace back to 1966, Zhou Enlai, the most respectable
premier in China, thought Beijing was falling into the trouble of pollution, when he looked at the
smog in the Sky. Unfortunately, in the past few decades, the misgiving of Zhou has been real
that the condition of the air pollution has been getting worse, which has caused negative effect
on the cultural city. For example, the meteorological observation in 1998 showed that the weeks
of air pollution index (API) in the Beijing area which was up to Level 4 increased by 40%, from 14
weeks to 20 weeks in the whole year of 1998 (Huang Guanzheng 36). Back in the start of 2013,

How To Prevent Global Warming In Canada
Global warming is a concern to everybody in Canada. Unless Canadians act now, the problems will
increase and become a massive controversy for future generations. Shocking to say, but, Canada has
about 0.5 percent of the world s population, but yet contributes to about 2 percent of the total
greenhouse gas emissions. Along with that, in 2005, Canadians emitted about 747 megatonnes of
carbon dioxideequivalent of greenhouse gasemissions.
As a result of Canadians actions, Canada is facing shifting rainfall patterns, rising temperatures,
increases in certain types of hazardous weather like heat waves, and the polar ice caps are melting,
resulting in habitat loss for animals such as polar bears.

This would be a considerable way to lessen the amount of greenhouse gases being released into
the atmosphere. When fuel is burned, sulphur combines with oxygen which construct emissions
that contribute to decreased air quality and have negative environmental effects. The government

This means there would be reductions in air pollutant emissions from vehicles. By obtaining a
car that is well suited for the person and is eco friendly, is one thing that makes a great difference
in reducing the effects of global warming. Generally speaking, Canadians need to take major
action now in order to lessen the effects of global warming. In the first place, Canadians are
capable of saving energy from their own home. In addition to that, Canadians are capable of

Rome And Han Comparison Essay

Group LEQ: Rome and Han Comparison
By the second and third centuries C.E, trade routes were connecting many civilizations across the
land and sea. These routes traded not only goods, but new beliefs and values as well. However,
something malicious also spread through these trade routes: disease. Both the Roman and Han
empires experienced imperial decline due to epidemic diseases spread by trade routes as well as
conflicts with neighboring forces due to clashing beliefs, however the Han Empire faced more
internal problems, whereas the Romans faced unrest from outside of the empire.

China mainly faced internal struggles, while the Romans mainly faced problems from external
sources. One problem was the aristocrats forming factions among each other, with each faction
seeking to gain more power for itself, which weakened the central government. Another problem
was the uneven distribution of land. Many landowners that possessed most of the land, were
powerful figures in the government who shifted the tax burden onto peasants. This angered the
peasants, who started the Yellow Turban Rebellion in 184 C.E. While the rebellion was
unsuccessful in overthrowing the empire, the unhappiness of the peasants would later lead to
many more uprisings. By 220 C.E, the emperor had no real political power and the Han generals
abolished the empire and divided it into three large kingdoms. On the other hand, the Romans
were faced with a massive empire that they struggled to manage. From 235 to 284 C.E, there
were 26 different barrack emperors who controlled Rome. The position was unstable, and many
of them were betrayed and killed. The Roman economy was also going downhill, and they were
also faced with a population decline. These factors also created a lack of resources needed to
protect the empire. China s internal problems were due to the peasants feeling like they were being
mistreated; Rome s problems were due to its size and the population

Essay on Nerds of the Football World
Nerds of the Football World
It s a typical Fall Sunday afternoon and millions of people are huddled around their televisions at
home, or at sports bars watching their local team s battle on the gridiron for football supremacy.
Meanwhile, a growing number of the most diehard football fanatics are sitting around their
computers. Why aren t they watching the game you may wonder? It s simple. A new phenomenon
called Fantasy Football is sweeping the nation.
The goal of fantasy football is to compile a group of players taken from the National Football
League (NFL) that will out perform your opponents. Each player you select earns points for doing
certain things within the real NFL game each week. Players score points by rushing for a ... Show

There are a variety of different strategies on how, and who to draft. The first time player may
look at the game and decide to simply draft who he or she thinks will score the most points, and
if they are lucky they might end up with a .500 record. The experienced player knows that it s
not only how many points the player drafted will score, but also the demand of the player.
Running backs are usually the highest in demand due to the high rate of injury at the position.
Stocking up on two or three running backs with your first several picks is a common draft
strategy. If your primary running back goes down with an injury, which will likely happen at least
once throughout any season, it s imperative to have a decent backup. While you can pick up new
players throughout the season off the waiver wire (undrafted players), it is likely that by the time
you need a new running back, no one decent will be left.
Now that you ve secured a couple of running backs it s time to start looking for your value picks.
Every draft is different, and who you choose will be decided as much by what you still need, as
by what other players have drafted. If your fellow league members start grabbing quarterbacks
early for example, you might find a premier wide receiver ripe for the picking. Don t jump on the
bandwagon and start drafting quarterbacks just because

Reflective Reflection In English
Throughout this course, I have grown as a writer and learned many things I was previously
unaware of. What I pictured English 101 to entail is nothing compared to what I experienced.
Going into this class, I was thinking in the most negative tone: There is no way I am going to be
able to write four full pages, There is not enough time to write papers, The work load is
overwhelming, There is only four summarize grades. However, these thoughts quickly became
reversed as the year progressed as I was pushed to limits I did not even know I had. As I began
writing, I became more aware of my strengths and weakness, enjoyments and frustrations, and future
plans and goals. After exploring all papers, there are strengths and weaknesses prevalent throughout.
It is important to know these qualities and capacities in order to leverage certain strengths and
improve specific weaknesses. Using this knowledge, I came up with one overall weaknesses
throughout my writing that show up in multiple instances. One of them would be subject verb
agreement. Subjects and verbs must agree with one another in number (singular or plural). Thus,
if a subject is singular, its verb must also be singular; if a subject is plural, its verb must also be
plural. In the present tense, nouns and verbs form plurals in opposite ways: nouns add an s to the
singular form; verbs remove the s from the singular form. For example, talking about A Good Man

Hinduism Impact On Indian Society
In Indian society Hinduism plays a vital role in shaping Indian society. Hinduism plays a vital role
in Indian society whether it be through Dharma, the caste system or Hindu rituals. To further
explain how Hinduism plays a role in Indian society we need to explain what is Hinduism.
One could not give a definite definition to Hinduism. Hinduism is not an organized religion but a set
of belief systems and traditions that is in turn a way of life in Indian Society. Hinduism contains
several sects, subsects, sub subsects, various traditions and ascetic movements. I think this is
important for defining Hinduism, but it also proves difficult to place an accurate pinpoint definition
of Hinduism. Hinduism is different for each person and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet Dharma has different implications depending on the person and their social position. Men,
women, elders and children have different dharma which also depends on their place in the caste
system. The Dharma of a Brahmin is different from the dharma of a king and so forth. Dharma
assists with the social order in Indian society, as it varies person to person but also on the position
one holds in the caste system, but it help maintains that order. Whether that be a positive or
negative impact on Indian Society. Which brings up the point of the caste system.
Vedic society was divided into four different classes, Brahmans, nobles, commoners and the serfs.
These classes are part of the cosmic hierarchy and were based on purity. This gave way to the caste
systems. Castes are arranged in the following order of the polarity of purity; Brahmins, Kshatriyas,
Vaisyas and the shudras. With a fifth group called the untouchables at the very bottom. They are the
untouchables because they are the most impure. The caste of an individual cannot be removed.
Each caste has strict rules on caste endogamy.
The caste system also plays a critical role on Indian society as it dictates a person s social
position. I believe this to be true in more rural areas and smaller communities of Indian society.
The dharma in each caste system is not always the same and the caste systems dharma can vary.
This is to say that dharma is not necessarily universal

Walt Whitman s The Things They Carried
Mankind has always been fascinated with literature throughout history, writing stories of history
and of fantasy. Authors don t start out famous and are sometimes forced to witness mankind s
most abhorred creation, war. Some authors are just journalists who are sent to cover the carnage
and some are not yet authors, but will become authors later in history. It is well known many
people change after witnessing or experiencing war, but if could this influence or change their
writing style? Walt Whitman started journalism in 1841. He founded a weekly newspaper called
the Long Islander. In 1865, Whitman published his second edition of Leaves of Grass
(poets.org). After the start of the Civil War had started, Whitman went to Washington because he
read his brother s name (George Whitman) on a casualty list from the battle of Fredericksburg.
He arrived in time to find his brother with a small cut on his face and while there he noticed how
terrible the sick and wounded were being treated. He decided that he will do what he can to help
and stayed. After the civil war, Whitman published Drum Taps. This collection of poems is more

Gordon Childe Research Paper
Let us begin by going back to a time before the Great Wall, The Great Pyramids, and even
Stonehenge. A time that could not even fathom the thought of metal tools and tall buildings. This
time is the Neolithic period between 3180 2500 BCE and the location is the west coast of the
mainland of Orkney in Scotland. There you will find the ancient ruins of Skara Brae. During the
winter of 1850 a massive storm hit the coast of Orkney. A combination of fierce winds and high
tides stipped the top layer of soil from the ground to reveal the outline of an old building. Intrigued
by the outlines the local laird, William Watt of Skill, started excavating the site too see what he
could find. In 1868 the site was abandoned for unknown reasons and in later... Show more content

This wall was to keep anymore debris from collecting into the site that Childe would have to
clear out. Now, once Childe got there in 1927, that is when the fun began. For the first building
they had to work fast because no work was done to try to preserve the building that was left
exposed to the elements. The first chamber was excavated they were amazed by what they
found. The chamber was filled with over three thousand beads, animal teeth, and bone needles.
All of the artifacts are thought to of been a symbol of status because they would hand make
jewelry. The second chamber also had animals bones, called astragali scattered around but, it
was also found with shells. Astragali were thought to be used as dice and, being found with the
shells, was used as a game. Chamber number four was fascinating because of the the tools found.
An ax like bone tool that was most likely used for skinning animals, a bone chisel, a tusk pendant,
and an awl which is a tool for marking wood were all found there. 1928 is when excavation on
chambers 6 and 7 begun. These two where were Childe found large deposits of midden or waste. In
the midden was bones of multiple animals, including whale, sheep, and short horned bull. Also,
they found excrements that proved useful in telling Childe about what they ate.
After excavations were over in 1929, Childe gathered all of his data for analization. He found flint,

The Cultural Tradition Of Bodily Adornment
In Russia, the typical greeting is a firm, almost bone crushing handshake. It is also important to
maintain direct eye contact. When a man shakes hands with a woman, the handshake is less
firm. When greeting each other, it is normal for women to kiss each other three times, while
alternating cheeks. This form of greeting is influenced by social histories. The Karen Pa Dong
Hill tribe is probably most recognized by its cultural tradition of bodily adornment. Pa Dong
means someone who wears brass rings. It is thought that the tribe s custom of elongating necks
through the wearing of brass rings stems from myths. The most popular myth states that the
headman of the tribe had a dream in which a tiger was about to attack and kill one of the most
popular children in the village. Since tigers always kill their victims by first breaking their necks,
the headman decreed that all children must wear heavy brass rings around their necks to protect
them. Since the tiger attack never came to pass, it was thought that the wearing of brass rings
worked and protected them. Wearing brass neck rings is considered to be a beautiful form of
bodily adornment that stems from their cultural group histories. Islamic weddings are immersed in
cultural traditions and rituals. Thursday is generally believed to be the best day for a wedding
ceremony since Friday is a holy day for the Muslims. Another tradition is mehndi, or henna night.
Two nights before the wedding, the bride to be is surrounded

Typifies Vanity In Machiavelli s The Prince
Falstaff shows Hal the comic side of living and the vices that accompany it. In other words, he
drags Hal down to his immoral level. John Dover Wilson, wrote an essay called Fortunes of

suggesting that Hal cannot help but be a part of this vanity, especially when the alternative is the
court of his father, king Henry IV. In essence the opposite world that of Falstaff

Essay on Commodus
Some claim that Commodus was the worse emperor in the history of Rome. The fact that his father,
Marcus Aurelius, was a popular and successful ruler may have raised the precedent that Commodus
had to live up to. But for whatever reason, Commodus proved a disconnected and self indulgent
leader.
At the age of five Commodus was named Caesar, and at the age of seventeen he became co
Augustus with his father. He spent his childhood accompanying Marcus Aureliuson political
campaigns, and learned a lot on how to run an empire. However, after the death of his father the
people of Rome found that the years under Marcus Aurelius had not impacted Commodus
leadership skills. Commodus reign was filled with bad decisions, causing the people of Rome ...

As Commodus reign continued it became clearer that the ruler was mentally instable. He lived a
dark life, one of self indulgence and debauchery. He neglected his political responsibilities and
focused more on his desires. Commodus had many concubines, and throughout his reign had flings
with about 300 women and boys. While distracted by his lifestyle, the emperor allowed prefects to
run the day to day business of the empire. As the prefects became more and more powerful the king
would kill them, making sure that no one threatened his authority.
The brutal way in which Commodus ruled created many enemies of the emperor. Even his sister
conspired against him. However, when her plan came to Commodus attention he exiled her to an
island, and after a while killed her along with all the others involved. Another instance of
Commodus brutality comes from an event in which the emperor ordered the killing of a while
city. He did this horrible act because one of its residents had looked at him in an unfriendly way.
This massacre added to the many infamous deeds Commodus performed.
In AD 190, Commodus took advantage of the unfortunate circumstance Rome found itself in. A fire
had begun and had burned part of the city. The emperor took this opportunity to rebuild the city, and
change its name to Colonia Commodiana. Not only did he rename the city, but he renamed months
of the year after himself, and

Self-Destruction In The Gargoyle And Walk To Morning
Society often fail to understand and see the mental pain that individuals carry throughout their
lives. Some people bear its burden, while others suffer greatly because of it, to the point of
choosing self destruction. The narrators from The Gargoyle (Davidson) and Walk to Morning
(Boyden) both experience this pain that ultimately sets them on a course to a deep pit. They
survive their near deaths and later encounter unique life changing people. As a result, they
become better individuals. In the Gargoyle , the narrator lacks a nurturing childhood and is
blamed by the grandmother for causing his mother s death: Her bitterness towards me towards
me, as the cause of her daughter s death, was obvious (Davidson, p.9). He is later transferred to
live with his drug dealing uncle and aunt who only takes him because of promised government
cheques. Eventually he becomes an addicted drug user. Similarly, in his speech Walk to Morning
, Joseph Boyden described how his pain from depression and drunkenness, coupled with the break

A Wonderful Monograph By Melissa Archer
Introduction
This is a wonderful monograph by Melissa Archer with a comprehensive study of the theme of
worship in the Apocalypse . It illustrates various aspects of worship and the role of worship in the
Apocalypse. The language of the book and different approaches to the theme are appreciated,
because those are simple and clear to understand the theme.
Summary of the book
The context of the book is well organized. Archer divides her text into five chapters, and every
chapter has an introduction and a summery, which is really helpful to read and get the message at
the first glance.
Chapter one is a survey of modern scholarly literature related to the theme of worship in the
Apocalypse. It is divides into four subtopics; A) The theme of worship as a whole, B) The hymns
in the Apocalypse, C) Revelation 4 5, D) Additional worship scenes.
Chapter two is focused on the methodology for the study engaging North American Pentecostalism
and Pentecostal hermeneutics. In this chapter she introduces the term Wirkungsgeschichte ; how to
discover the worship in the Apocalypse.
Chapter three is a careful reading of the early Pentecostal periodical materials. She explains how
the worship practices of early Pentecostals using both the Wesleyan Holiness and the Finished Work
traditions during the time period of 1906 1916.
Chapter four is focused on a sustained narrative reading of the Apocalypse with the theme of
worship. In addition to the prologue and epilogue, there are four

Marking Territory Character Analysis
In Marking Territory, the author juxtaposes heated character interactions with private moments in
order to show how both the other Wes and his mother try to appear tough while secretly feeling
hurt and afraid. Prior to Wes s argument with his mother regarding his affairs in the drug business,
he had a heated encounter with his brother Tony on the same matter. Ending in a violence, anger,
and disappointment on the part of Tony, Wes ponders his relationship with Tony: Wes knew that he
was disappointing his brother, which hurt more than the beating that he had just taken. Wes was so
confused. He loved and respected his brother. Tony was the closest thing Wes had to a role model.
But the more he copied him, the more Tony pushed back. Wes wanted to be just like Tony.

unsure of what to think. She wasn t only upset about the drugs, she was upset about the lying. As a
mother who had discovered damning evidence that her second son was indeed a drug dealer, her
response was by all means what one would expect; that is, the mixture of sadness, fear,
disappointment, and anger. These two private moments communicated by the author, validates the

  • 2. Homeless People Could Be a Great Resource Have you ever felt so angry when you gave someone the money that you worked very hard to earn, and then he or she wasted it on some unacceptable purposes? Yes, it has been one of my first lessons since I immigrated to the United States. During January of 2012, most of the weekdays, my brother gave a homeless man some quarters or one dollar when we were going to work. This homeless man stood in an intersection and begged for charity from the public. However, my brother met him at a convenient store, and witnessed him buying some lotteries. Should this homeless man spend his beggingmoney on gambling or on daily necessities such as foods and a place to sleep? Another example is a homeless man who bought three houses and had four wives with some children from public charity has been charged for tax problems. These men are a part of the large population of homeless citizens in the United States. According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the amount of homeless is roughly estimated to be between 2.3 million and 3.5 million people. That is approximately 1 in 100 people living without a home or living on the streets every night with no job, no car, and no responsibilities. Obviously, we need to figure out a way to fix these homeless problems. Many experts have discussed and suggested uncounted solutions. However, we could easily fix the homeless problem by gathering them and using them as a resource. As I mentioned, homeless people could be a great resource. Just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Ethical Theories Of Normative Ethics Over the last couple of weeks in Philosophy 103, we learned five theories concerning normative ethics: utilitarianism, duty ethics, virtue ethics, care ethics, and natural law ethics. While learning about those theories, I often thought about how the arguments for some theories included interesting ideas that I personally agreed with, but the methods of reasoning were somewhat lacking. Contrastingly, I encountered theories with arguments that were not thought provoking ideas at first, but I became acclimated to them due to the logical and well thought out methodologies. In this essay, I will argue for my own normative ethical theory; an act is right if it is virtuous and conductive towards relationships with other people and wrong if it is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A person who practices virtue attempts to live a well balanced and stable life. While I recognize Aristotle s argument, the argument itself presents people as isolated human beings who try to be virtuous, or at least attempt to, with no consideration of how our interactions with others affect us and, therefore, affect what is considered right and wrong. The lack of reflection on how interpersonal relationships affect morality is where Virginia Held s view completes my normative ethical theory. Her view of care ethics establishes the importance of relationships with others, as people depend on one another to some capacity. Virginia Held declares that an act is right if it nurtures a relationship and wrong if it does not. What is significant about Held s methodology is that it considers the feminine perspective of caring for someone, which many philosophers did not consider when making their arguments. The importance of interpersonal relationships in care ethics is something that is certainly applicable to this day and age. With new technology and globalization, our capacity to interact with others has greatly increased, and to dismiss our connectedness while making a normative ethical theory in the modern era would be irrational. Aristotle s virtue ethics and care ethics could then be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Summary Of The Fires Of Jubilee In The Fires of Jubilee, Stephen B. Oates takes the story of Nat Turner s slave rebellion and insurrection attempt in Southampton County, Virginia. With detail account from Thomas R. Gray s interview with Nat, and historical eye witness testimonies, Oates really brings Nat Turner s upbringing and his fierce rebellion to life. From the story that you get from the South after Nat s rebellion was one of harmony between slaves and their masters. That Virginia and the rest of the South was appalled that something like this could happen. From blaming everything from abolitionist to Quakers, Southerners never wanted to admit that the institution of slaverywas the cause of Nat s rebellion. All were tried and hanged, this too would be the fate of Nat Turner. Nat was also flayed, beheaded and quartered to serve as an example to would be black rebels. In the aftermath of the rebellion, Virginia legislatures used the colonization bill against free blacks to remove them from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Also, they used the police bill that would deny free blacks the right to a fair trial. Some 56 black people were executed by the state after the rebellion. • 6. T4 Phage Research Paper Bacteriophages (or in short, Phages) are viruses that solely infect bacteria, in fact, each Phage can only infect a very specific type of bacteria in order to survive and replicate. like other viruses, Phages need a bacterial host in order to replicate their viral DNA , RNA etc... Phages are also named after the strain of bacteriawhich they infect eg: coli phages infect the bacteria E coli. each Phage can vary in shape and size but they all contain Capsids (protein coats) which surround their viral nucleic acid. We have already looked at the structure of a bacteriophage, the T4 Phage, with it s tail fibres and base plate which help it attach itself to bacteria. When a Phage is attached to it s target, it will then insert a hollow tube where... The other cycle is the lysogenic cycle, which does not involve the lysis of the host cell but rather integrate with its bacterial chromosome, creating a prophage which has the capacity of producing other Phages. This also means that whenever the bacteria undergoes mitosis, its daughter cells will also have the prophage. Whilst the study of Phage therapy was temporarily abandoned by the US and some European nations (due to the discovery of antibiotics) in Russia, Phage therapy is mainly used to fight against antibiotic resistant bacteria. They are also used for identifying bacteria ( a process known as Phage typing). It can also be used to prolong the freshness of food, as bacteria causes food to spoil faster. They can also be used as vehicles for vaccine delivery carrying vaccine antigens and reacting with their specific bacteria. This means that scientists are also trying to use Phages to combat cancerous diseases, modifying the biosynthetic machinery so that they target the mutated cancer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Are Data Algorithms And Algorithms Can Be Been Solving... Traditional statisticians have been solving data problems for years. Example, when faced with the large data problem statisticians had a simple and proven technique to solve the problem by sampling the records. This is a sound methodology as the statisticians could prove statistically that a representative or random sample could speak for the whole population. The only problem was that when stakeholders wanted to drill down into the details they inevitably had to query the whole file. The reality is that data scientists run various data miningtechniques and various algorithms that can accommodate both large and small files. However, companies may want to consider examining and cleansing the data they collect before running their analyses. This brings up the question of whether or not big data methods and algorithms can be considered reliable. Data quality is still a challenge even in the world of big data. The reality is that he world of big data is somewhat messy. Given data is collected so fast and is usually unprocessed (raw) it may be incomplete versus most traditional transactional data. Data may be missing many values or may contain incomplete records. Customer profiles may even be incomplete. Many companies embark upon a formal data cleansing strategy before or after placing data into their big data environment. Cleansing data initiatives vary among companies because it costs time and money. Spending time up front to cleanse data can pay off, in the end, resulting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Facebook Password Essay Sharing Facebook Password Employers and schools nowadays evaluate applicants from their social media accounts. For example, the applicant s Facebook profile could be used to get information such as age, residence and even academic history. What worries Joanna Stern in the article, Demanding Facebook Passwords May Break Law, Say Senators is the fact that employers and schools require employees and students to give their Facebook passwords to access their profiles. This practice poses unanticipated legal liabilities. Thus, government officials have rose against the practice. Indeed, requiring a user to share Facebook account s password for access to the user s profile is morally wrong and does not meet its intended objective. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such information could cause organizations to make wrong conclusions on a user based on the wrongful information on the user. However, this practice has been noted to be beneficiary in understanding the character of an employee or student. Going through their profiles would reveal more on their relationships and interactions with other people. This would help organizations get the rightful applicants because an error in this could result in irreparable harm. Even so, as this practice becomes widespread, people would always clean their accounts before interviews to depict the needful and erase the undesired. This way, employers and schools would not gather useful information as the profile would have been customized to impress. Additionally, people could operate Facebook accounts to be used for interviews. Such accounts would contain what would be considered desirable for interviewers. They would have other accounts for normal socialization. Therefore, at the end of it, interviewers who access their Facebook accounts get wrong information on the interviewee. Despite the increased practice of requiring interviewees to provide passwords for their Facebook accounts so as to analyze their profiles, the practice does not meet its goals. It is an infringement into people s privacy thus illegal. More wrong than right information would be retrieved as most people use disguised identities on social media. ... • 11. Evolution Vs. Fossil Records Evolution has been a widely known discussion that many people have had over the past century, the theory of evolution has been welcomed by many scientists yet by some religious people it has been a taboo topic. The thought or the motion to entertain that humans evolved from primates is what some people would shudder and state that it goes against all their religious beliefs. However, scientist have pushed on the fact that evolutionis not just a hypothetical or an outlandish theory but a theory that has multiple hard evidence to back it and that to ignore is ignorance and just plain stupidity. Four types of evidence of evolution are fossil records, genetic changes, the geographic distribution of species, and the similarities in embryos of species. One of the evidences of evolution is fossil records, with fossil records being the remains of plants and animals that scientist have found in sedimentary rocks. Fossil records have given us irrefutable evidence of evolution in the past, over a course of a long period of time, proving there is significant variation amongst living things. Evolution is a continuum; all the minor changes over a period of time add up to a major change. On the continuum, fossils are the points that displaying what the organism had become after evolving at that stage in time. Although fossil records are substantial evidence for evolution there are gaps in the fossil records due to the fact of incompletion of the collecting data. As evolution is ... There have been many states that have rescinded these laws for reasons that may not be known by those most interested the motorcycle rider him/herself. The author is interested in discovering the reasoning that the powers that be chose to allow her to have the freedom Motorcycle Helmet Laws 4 to decide whether or not she will don a helmet prior to embarking on a journey. Her hypotheses as to the reasons are probably so far off base that she would be hesitant to admit them to another. Ultimately, her quest is to evaluate the writings and attempt to discover if mandatory helmet laws do, indeed, decrease injuries and deaths as a result of a motorcycle crash. There are a variety of reasons a motorcycle driver makes the decision as to whether to wear a helmet while riding vs. not wearing one. Some of the factors that influence this decision appear to be age, demographics (urban vs. rural living), and style and size of motorcycle. Other factors involved are where the person is riding (highway, city, side streets, rural areas, etc.) Weather conditions and time of day (early morning, rush hour, nighttime) also should be taken into consideration. Maneuvering through hundreds of vehicles on the road and the rising or setting sun in one s eyes have a bearing on how well a driver can see. The incidence of accidents that result in injury and fatality has fluctuated with the enactment and rescinding of mandatory helmet use. The United States federal government has had a vacillating approach to the use of motorcycle helmets since 1967, when the National Highway Safety Act (NHSA) was first ... • 13. Racism Through Blue Eye Analysis Racism Through Blue Eyes Throughout the earliest half of the twentieth century, the American way of life was marred with racial prejudices and acts of discrimination towards the African Americans people and their culture. Not only were people of color demonized simply on the color of their skin, but they were also made out to be a lesser human being when compared to those of more wholesome ethnic backgrounds. The fact of the matter is, racismitself is a very complex issue to discuss and analyze. In some cases, it is a deep seeded ideal that people always believe and always display. Even though the African Americancommunity has made significant contribution to society as a whole, that there are still narrow viewed people that wholeheartedly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When given this image, one immediately gets an image of what a perfect family would look like, at least back in the 40s or 50s. Presenting this short story right off the bat really gives the reader a clear message that emphasizes the things that would make a family truly a family. However, almost immediately, we are introduced to a family that is completely opposite from the ideal American family. That family, of course, would be the Breedloves. The Breedloves are the complete polar opposite of an ideal American family. They never see eye to eye on anything, never have fun times together, and always seem to have a strong disdain for each other. This can be attributed to the sense of inferiority felt by the African American people towards themselves. The Breedloves are an inferior family because they make themselves feel inferior. They make themselves feel inferior because they are treated inferiorly by their fellow people. We see this throughout the entire story. This whole principle of racial inferiority is indicative of a large scale issue that was present during the years of strife for Civil rights throughout the twentieth century. Why would Black people feel inferior? Because, at that time, they were made out to be inferior in more ways than one. How should one feel when they are not even made out to be enough of a human being to sit in the front of a bus, or use the same water fountain, or even go to school in the same building as Caucasians? In the literature the terms cartoon and caricature are used interchangeably and indiscriminately, which creates confusion. What then is the distinction between a cartoon and a caricature? Historically, cartoon refers to the preparatory designs for a large drawing or painting (Coupe 1967). The link between these two concepts can be traced back to 1843 when John Leech described as cartoons the parodies he drew of the cartoons for the frescos in the Houses of Parliament, London (Coup 1969). A Tale Of Commodities And Relevance A Tale of Commodities and Relevance In Margaret Atwood s book, The Handmaid s Tale, the women in the book often find themselves at the mercy of men and being used for the purpose of fulfilling man s needs. The women are systemically ranked for amount of use in the household and women who can give birth are often high ranked, but not given much freedom. Over they do everything and are allowed nothing. The woman are not allowed to read, have their own money, or to normal jobs outside of being maids or cooks. The woman are often ranked in terms of colors with wives wearing blue, handmaids wear red, Maratha s wearing green and Ecowives wearing stripes. The women are often seen as commodities and only relevant to the needs of man. The Ceremony is the act in which the Commander, his wife(Serena Joy), and the Handmaid(Offred) attempt to make a baby. While the women are both needed to be present, nether are required to enjoy the act or to orgasm, the man s orgasm is the only important part of the act, seeing as he need s to orgasm to get Offred pregnant. When in turn the act for all three of them is simply a duty to be done. Offred see s the act as her duty, because she is a Handmaid and that is her single goal: To get pregnant, but she does recognize it is a goal and duty for the Commander also, This is not recreation, even for the Commander. The theoretical framework can be advantageous in guiding and supporting the design and execution of an EBP change. Using a conceptual model (C) theory (T) and empirical research (E) provides the foundation for an intervention to an identified clinical problem. Known as C T E structure, the application of this system in nursing practice involves an elevated level of critical reasoning, which assists in knowing what data is important and how it relates to practice change (Chinn Kramer, 2011; Fawcett DeSanto Madeya, 2013; Mazurek Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2015). This was a major turning point in the advancement of single sex schools because it loosened government restrictions. Since 2002, about 95 single sex public schools have been established (Novotney). Historically, single gendereducationhas been more prevalent in other countries, such as New Zealand, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, than it is in the United States. One reason that the United States has had far fewer single gender schools is because of the laws concerning education that the states all follow. Also, single sex schools were not able to be financially funded. This made it difficult for the United States to establish and continuously run many single sex schools, especially government funded single sex public schools (Bigler and Signorella 659). With the advancement of the number of single sex schools, questions and controversies have arisen. Parents began questioning what type of education best suited their child. Should parents send their children to coeducational institutions, or single gender institutions? In which environment will students most succeed? Chaffee s Cosmological Argument Per Chaffee, the cosmological argument examines the orderly, coherent, and intelligible nature of the cosmos and examines the proofs that are given by science and philosophers for God to have designed the universe (Chaffee 338). He states that in the cosmological argument, the universe is contingent or dependent on God to create it because upon examination of the universe, everything owes its existenceto something else; following this logic, for the universe to exist, there must be something that the universe owes its existence to (338). This means that because God existed before the origin of space and time, he is exempt from the rules of space and time and therefore, does neither need an origin to exist, nor have one. Unless Canadians act now, the problems will increase and become a massive controversy for future generations. Shocking to say, but, Canada has about 0.5 percent of the world s population, but yet contributes to about 2 percent of the total greenhouse gas emissions. Along with that, in 2005, Canadians emitted about 747 megatonnes of carbon dioxideequivalent of greenhouse gasemissions. By obtaining a car that is well suited for the person and is eco friendly, is one thing that makes a great difference in reducing the effects of global warming. Generally speaking, Canadians need to take major action now in order to lessen the effects of global warming. In the first place, Canadians are capable of saving energy from their own home. In addition to that, Canadians are capable of researching about where their food comes from. These routes traded not only goods, but new beliefs and values as well. However, something malicious also spread through these trade routes: disease. Both the Roman and Han empires experienced imperial decline due to epidemic diseases spread by trade routes as well as conflicts with neighboring forces due to clashing beliefs, however the Han Empire faced more internal problems, whereas the Romans faced unrest from outside of the empire. China mainly faced internal struggles, while the Romans mainly faced problems from external sources. One problem was the aristocrats forming factions among each other, with each faction seeking to gain more power for itself, which weakened the central government. Another problem was the uneven distribution of land. Many landowners that possessed most of the land, were powerful figures in the government who shifted the tax burden onto peasants. This angered the peasants, who started the Yellow Turban Rebellion in 184 C.E. While the rebellion was unsuccessful in overthrowing the empire, the unhappiness of the peasants would later lead to many more uprisings. By 220 C.E, the emperor had no real political power and the Han generals abolished the empire and divided it into three large kingdoms. On the other hand, the Romans were faced with a massive empire that they struggled to manage. From 235 to 284 C.E, there were 26 different barrack emperors who controlled Rome. The position was unstable, and many of them were betrayed and killed. The Roman economy was also going downhill, and they were also faced with a population decline. There are a variety of different strategies on how, and who to draft. The first time player may look at the game and decide to simply draft who he or she thinks will score the most points, and if they are lucky they might end up with a .500 record. The experienced player knows that it s not only how many points the player drafted will score, but also the demand of the player. Running backs are usually the highest in demand due to the high rate of injury at the position. Stocking up on two or three running backs with your first several picks is a common draft strategy. If your primary running back goes down with an injury, which will likely happen at least once throughout any season, it s imperative to have a decent backup. While you can pick up new players throughout the season off the waiver wire (undrafted players), it is likely that by the time you need a new running back, no one decent will be left. Now that you ve secured a couple of running backs it s time to start looking for your value picks. Dharma assists with the social order in Indian society, as it varies person to person but also on the position one holds in the caste system, but it help maintains that order. Whether that be a positive or negative impact on Indian Society. Which brings up the point of the caste system. Vedic society was divided into four different classes, Brahmans, nobles, commoners and the serfs. These classes are part of the cosmic hierarchy and were based on purity. This gave way to the caste systems. Castes are arranged in the following order of the polarity of purity; Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaisyas and the shudras. With a fifth group called the untouchables at the very bottom. They are the untouchables because they are the most impure. The caste of an individual cannot be removed. Each caste has strict rules on caste endogamy. The caste system also plays a critical role on Indian society as it dictates a person s social position. When a man shakes hands with a woman, the handshake is less firm. When greeting each other, it is normal for women to kiss each other three times, while alternating cheeks. This form of greeting is influenced by social histories. The Karen Pa Dong Hill tribe is probably most recognized by its cultural tradition of bodily adornment. Pa Dong means someone who wears brass rings. It is thought that the tribe s custom of elongating necks through the wearing of brass rings stems from myths. The most popular myth states that the headman of the tribe had a dream in which a tiger was about to attack and kill one of the most popular children in the village. Since tigers always kill their victims by first breaking their necks, the headman decreed that all children must wear heavy brass rings around their necks to protect them. Since the tiger attack never came to pass, it was thought that the wearing of brass rings worked and protected them.
