Vargas Maldonado. Under the influence of Peruvian writers like Martín Adán, Carlos Oquendo de
Amat, and César Moro, Mario Vargas Llosa developed a talent for revolutionary literature. Mario
Llosa Vargas is a successful author because he informs others of social injustices, he gave a voice to

In fact massacres were common during his dictatorial age, therefore today his name it is still feared
among Dominicans and Haitians alike. While, many authors out of fear never dared to publish any
work documenting the horrors of Trujillo. Vargas along with a few others dared to bring forward the
sins of Rafael Trujillo.
In order to inform others of the truth in his book, The Feast Of The Goat, Mario Vargas Llosa includes
intimate details of the characters as well as Trujillo. In his book, Vargas states, No sweat, no sleep,
never had a wrinkle in uniform, morning coat or lounge suit (118). It can be concluded, that Trujillo
aimed for perfection and as a result he was paranoid on keeping everything under what he considered
to be order. Vargas uses how Trujillo presents himself as a symbol of how he rules the Dominican
Republic. Furthermore, Vargas is able to capture in his writing Trujillo s paranoidness and then, he
gets the message across to the Latin American audience. In addition, Vargas work give a voice to those
lived under oppression.
Due to the fear Rafael Trujillo implemented on the people; they were too afraid to tell their stories. In
The Feast of the Goat, it states, ...nobody could resist without lowering eyes, intimidated , annihilated
by force radiating those piercing eyes that seemed to read the most secret thoughts ( 52 ). Mario
Vargas Llosa suggest that Rafael Trujillo frightened the people to an extend where they were frozen

In Mute in An English Only World by Chang Rae Lee , the story starts off talking about the fears and
frustration of longtime residents with foreign language signs. Lee then talks about his past and his
experiences with his mother s lack of english. His mother did not know any english and was hard for
her to understand english and hard for her to have a conversation with somebody. He talks about

Objective Theory of Contracts
The four elements of a valid contract are offer and acceptance, meeting of the minds, consideration
and competent parties. The contract must cover a legal purpose or objective as well (Binder, 2012).
The objective theory of contracts holds that contract formation is dependent on what is communicated,
rather than what is thought by one of the parties (Barnes, 2008).
The Pepsi Harrier case (Leonard v. PepsiCo) is an example of a situation where the four elements of a
contract are simply not met. Advertisements in general constitute an invitation to treat, rather than an
offer. Therefore, Leonard was not able to accept the offer, because the offer never existed. As such, the
basic elements of a contract were not present in their entirety, meaning that no contract existed
between Pepsi and the Seattle man.
The objective theory of contracts is relevant to this case, because there was a clear difference between
what Pepsi was thinking and what Leonard was thinking. Each had their own view of what the
advertisement constituted, and it is from these differing views that the contract dispute arose. The
judge in this situation must use the objective theory to decide the case. This means that the case can
only rest on what has actually been communicated between the two parties. In this case, Pepsi has an
advertisement that discusses its promotion. The promotion describes a bargain in which a customer
presents Pepsi with points and Pepsi allows the customer to redeem those points

Effects Of Advertising In Advertising
The Brain on Ads
We see advertisements every day. They are everywhere. Advertisements like to tell consumers what to
get and which is the best, saying that with this product it you will be happy and satisfied. Consumers
probably believe that they have their own preferences, but, what they believe is them choosing what to
buy and have, advertisements are subconsciously swaying them one way or another. Big advertising
companies makes people believe that one drink differs from the other or that one burger is better than
the competitor. According to The Brain: Marketing to your mind by Alice park. Alice brings up very
good claims on how advertising effects our brains; claiming that advertisements tap into our emotions
to sell and claims that these advertisements even trick many into that a brand image correlates to
satisfaction eventually creating brand loyalty just from seeing commercials. Alice Park shows us in
her article that big advertisement companies pull in many people with their appeal of the item from the
colors on the screen to the display of how the product is placed all to make their brand the best and
persuade us into buying it. Advertisements put all these effects in motion to get to the one main thing,
your perceptions. Perceptions play a large roll in these advertisements. An advertisement with
someone sipping on a coke and seems satisfied or when watching an Old Spice commercial that
someone who smells good also looks good, this all triggers something in us

Freedom Of Religious Freedom
Freedom of religion When we say freedom of religion what is that exactly means? The First
Amendment describe the right of religion like this, everyone in the United States can practice to any
religion or not practice a religion. (Your Right to Religious Freedom) In the united states, there is no
an official religion and the government do not give any support for any religion institution because of
the government want to encourage and promoting religion in any ways. In addition to that, nobody can
penalize any citizen because of their religious beliefs. It s always best to keep the government out of
religion to protect religion liberty. The three United States founders were different religious
backgrounds. As most of us know the public schools are run by the government and they obey the
First Amendment. When any public education institution teach about the impacts of religion in
literature, history and philosophy they can t indorse religious beliefs or practices as part of the
catalogue. In the United States no one can prayer, theological reading and loudspeaker spiritual breach
in any public area that runs by government because they promote religion and this is protected by the
First Amendment, but when we say this we it s not including individuals. Individual have the right to
practice their religion, pray when and where ever they want to, as long as they don t interrupt other
people or activities for example, by forcing others to pray with them or practice their religion.

Negative Aspects Of Masculinity
Gone are the days of masculinity being a mountain man or a cutthroat businessman, society is no
longer the 1800s or an episode of MadMen. Currently, some of society s expectations of masculinity
(as defined by experts) are a desire to win, need for emotional control, dominance (including that over
women), violence, sexual promiscuity, and a pursuit of status. However masculinity can also be
something that is positive. Like a steady rock to build emotional support upon, a stoic person can be
an excellent resource. This can be like the person that hides their emotion in order to better others that
need a push forward when their emotions get the better of them. This is where masculine ideals can be
a double edged sword because these traits can be beneficial in some manners but it can also have some
detriments that occur consequently. It is not that men are not masculine; it is that masculinity does not
represent men anymore. Because of the negative side effects of men exhibiting masculine traits they
should no longer be expected to adhere to all of these traditional ideals.
The traits that are normally associated with masculinity are ones that can be detrimental to the mental
health of the people who have these traits. For example in an analysis of seventy eight different
studies, researchers at the University of Indiana Bloomington found that men who exhibited masculine
traits were more likely to have mental health issues such as depression. The same men were also less
likely to seek help when it came to their mental health issues. The traits that were most commonly
associated with the negative mental health were being self reliant, sexual promiscuity, and having
dominance or power over women. Expecting someone to be stoic and only depending on themselves
means they will be less likely to go and seek psychological help as they would feel that they need to
be able to solve their problems themselves. This societal pressure upon men to be dominating and
stoic is not good for their mental health. So the pressure should be lessened or removed to the point
where men are no longer expected to have these traits as the other option leads to depression that goes
untreated. This meta analysis, headed by Associate

Grand Theft Auto IIi ( Abbreviated Iv )
Video games have been enjoyed by millions of gamers for decades, and the industry is wildly popular.
Video games are a great way for a person to sit back and relax and to have fun doing it. In 2001, a
game designing company known as DMA Design (now Rockstar North) changed the video game
industry forever with the release of Grand Theft Auto III (abbreviated as GTA III). Grand Theft Auto
III was one of the most influential video games because it was the first massively popular game to
include a fully explorable open world, combine many different video game genres into a successful
game, include a wealth of content, and spawn countless sandbox games that attempted to recreate
GTA III s success. No product can succeed in the market without proper marketing and exposure.
Grand Theft Auto III was very controversial, as it included swearing, violence, prostitutes, and more.
It received a lot of backlash and criticism from the media, but that only led to its increased popularity
among gamers (Leigh). GTA III s media exposure is a part of what made it so popular, and that is what
led to its large influence on the video game industry. While it was not the first game to include an
open world, Grand Theft Auto III was the first game to include a fully explorable open city on a large
scale. In addition to the open world, players were not forced to mindlessly complete mission after
mission until finishing the game and letting it collect dust on the shelf. Instead, GTA III allowed

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Single Parenting...
A single parent could feel like a mouse racing on a wheel, where she/he is continually running, trying
to maintain a proper household and raise healthy children. This is a statement from Victoria
Thompson. I do believe in this statement because for me single parents, unlike the married couple, are
having a hard time in dividing their time with their work and taking good care of their kids. So, single
parenting faces more disadvantages like the experience of economic hardship, negative judgment of
the community and the psychological effects on rearing children that make the family and relation
cycle really complicated.
Single parenting is about having a child without living with a partner or spouse. In historical events,
the major reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, their children may suffer bullying because of having only one parent. This can affect the
children s way of living. Kids who are bullied can experience negative physical, school, and mental
health issues. The child will not be able to do what he wants because he will be afraid to socialize with
other children. Second, a child with a single parent can compare their selves to the other children who
have married parents. A child may feel envious about not having a father/mother to guide him/her.
According to Paul R. Amato, Children living with single parents are exposed to more stressful
experiences and circumstances than being children living with continuously married parents. This
statement proves that single parents are having a hard time raising their children. Lastly, the children
living with a single parent can have a hard time expressing their feelings. Children who don t see or
feel the act of love between his/her parent can have a hard time expressing their feelings with other
person. Due to unseen acts of love, the child may be confused on how he/she will show their feelings
with other person. So instead of showing it, they are going to hide their feeling with their self

Ernest Stravinsky
Stravinsky was an innovative composer of the 20th century and is known to be the most influential of
20th century music. Many of his pieces are contrasting, but the two that I have chosen are his Piano
Sonata (1924) and Tango. These pieces are very diverse. While Stravinsky is not mostly known for his
piano pieces, they are my favorite of his works.
Stravinsky s Piano Sonata, has three movements. The first movement is quarter note equals 112, the
second is adagietto and the third is quarter note equals 112 as well. This piece sounds very similar to
compositions from the Baroque, Classical and Early Romantic eras. All three movements sound like a
mixture of Bach and Beethoven. Stravinsky said that he was influenced greatly by Beethoven

Dollar General Industry and Competitive Analysis
Dollar General Industry and Competitive Analysis
INDUSTRY
The first step to understanding a company is to examine its industry. There are four main areas to
consider when analyzing an industry. These include:
• Competitors
There are several different types of stores within the discount retail industry, and for comparison s
sake, the industry is further broken into many segments. DG is in the market segment known as the
dollar store category. As a result, competitors such as Wal Mart are in the same industry but not the
same peer group. Comparisons will be made throughout this report to Wal Mart and other big firms
because they tend draw some of the same customers.
• Customers
Retail merchandise stores attract many different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is not sustainable due to:
• rivals similar competitive strategies
• low barriers of entry into the market
• the absence of a differentiation strategy
When examining competitive advantage, it is also important to consider the market and take into
account the existing competition against larger firms.
Small firms often find it difficult to compete with larger firms. Though there are some disadvantages
DG will never be able to overcome due to its size, small firms have advantages over their larger
counterparts.
Advantages
• convenience
• absence of long lines
• customer service
Disadvantages
• low purchasing power
• smaller pool of resources to allocate
• less extensive market
Improving the store internally with more resourceful employees, better lighting and displays, and
more organized floor plans will start to change the image of Dollar General that the average public
holds. A more respectable store will lead to an increase in customers. Dollar General will then begin
developing a system of a more sustainable competitive advantage among the small and large firms of
the similar industry.
DG has a current competitive advantage within its industry that is maintains through a unique cost
efficient approach. This low cost structure is apparent through low inventories, low advertising costs,
and location of stores in rural areas. Though profitable in the short run, DG s current advantage is not

Sieve Analysis Test Lab Report
INTRODUCTION Aggregate is one of the basic constituents of concrete. Its quality is of considerable
importance because about three quarter of the volume of concrete is occupied by aggregates. One of
the physical properties of aggregate that influence the property of concrete is the grading of aggregate.
The grading of aggregate defines the proportions of particles of different size in the aggregate. The
grading of fine (size lt; 5 mm) and coarse (size gt; 5 mm) aggregates are generally required to be
within the limits specified in BS 882: 1992. OBJECTIVE The objective of this experiment is to obtain
the grading curve for both fine and coarse aggregate. APPARATUS 1. Balance balance or scale used

Origin Of Creation Myths
I have learned from the textbook that there are essentially two different ways that people have sought
to understand their origins. The first has to with storytelling in the creation (or origin) myths. These
myths are explanations of how a group of people decided their moral principles that allowed them to
establish a set of rules for their relationships with each other, nature, and the supernatural world. The
explanation of how these relationships worked and came to be further created distinct cultural and
societal structures that each member of that community would follow and share. One of the creation
myths I cam across while reading about Mesopotamia was that of the Babylonian people who believed
that humankind had been created from the

Federal Elections Campaign Act of 1974
Following the Watergate scandal, the Federal Elections Campaign Act of 1974 was amended to create
the regulatory agency, known as the Federal Elections Commission, in 1975. The duties of the FEC
consist largely of enforcing regulation, limitation, and prohibition on financial contributions to federal
campaigns, candidates, political parties, and political action committees. The Act has thoroughly set
limits on the amount of money a person or committee may donate to the previously mentioned
situations. For example, an individual can donate no more than $2,600 to any federal campaign per
election, and a combined limit of $10,000 to local and state parties every calendar year. The case at
hand involves Shaun McCutcheon challenging the aggregate limits as a violation of the First
Amendment right of expression. An Alabaman Conservative businessman, McCutcheon expressed
that he wished to donate more than the contributions he was able to make in the last election cycle. He
wanted to contribute an amount that would stay within base limits but surpass aggregate limits set by
the FEC. In distric court, the plaintiffs claimed aggregate limits as unconstitutional and impeding on a
First Amendment right. The district court system ruled against the plaintiff, asserting that the
government could regulate aggregate limits because it would be preventing corruption or the
appearance of corruption. When brought before the Supreme Court, the court s ruling removed the

Why Did The Erie Canal Change America

Food And Eating In Christianity And Hinduism
Food and eating are at the centre of Christianity and Hinduism for centuries. The Fall of Adam and
Eve, after eating the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden, is one of the central tropes in the Western
discourses. A special kind of food becomes a cause for the first man and woman s damnation, and
ironically, I argue, a new opportunity to control the new dominion . God commands, specifically, what
requirements man should fulfill, including what he needs to eat in order to secure his union with the
god. Food, therefore, can work to uplift man to heaven if chosen accordingly, or could be a cause for
his damnation to hell. Hinduism, in a similar fashion, observes food as an important aspect of life and
afterlife. It depends upon man s choice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
OED defines venison as The flesh of an animal killed in the chase or by hunting and used as food;
formerly applied to the flesh of the deer, boar, hare, rabbit, or other game animal, now almost entirely
restricted to the flesh of various species of deer . Jaques opposes the violence to animals in their own
territory, and reminds Duke Senior about animals similarities to human beings, they are fat and greasy
citizens (2.1.55). The humanisation of animals and the necessity of human beings to understand the
importance of respecting their value corresponds to the idea of prelapsarian world where Adam and
Eve lived in harmony with the animals. They lived in a world where animals had human sensitivity,
and were free of any human interference. Violence against any creature was not imagined in the
prelapsarian world. Joan Fitzpatrick argues that Shakespeare may have strange sympathy for
vegetarianism, especially in those plays where pastoralism features (Renaissance Food from Rabelais
to Shakespeare: Culinary Readings and Culinary Histories 140). In the similar vein, the Hindu
scriptures describe about the creation of the world where the first men on earth all of them were the
sages with different capacities lived together with the animals in a completely harmonious natural
environment. There was

Cellulite Essay
Although the causes of cellulite are not as understood as the removal of cellulite, it appears to be more
prevalent in women, which points to hormonal factors as a high influence. Cellulite is the occurrence
of bumpy fat deposits under the skin. It gives the appearance of lumps or dimples, usually in the hips,
thighs and buttocks.
What Causes Cellulite?
Cellulite is caused by the underlying fat deposits raising up to become visible through the skin.
Everyone has fat deposits in their body, but cellulite results from the collagen and connective tissue
becoming weak and allowing the fat to the surface where it causes a bumpy texture.
Hormonal Influences

Creams, Massages and Injections at a Clinic
Creams
Anti cellulite creams work by narrowing the blood vessels in the impacted areas. They also remove
water from the skin, which can temporarily reduce the appearance of bumps and lumps. While the
creams seems to work for a limited amount of time, they can cause allergic reactions in some patients.
Injections
Often the same ingredients in the creams are injected into the skin for a quicker and more noticeable
result. They are meant to tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of bumps. They can work faster
and have a longer effect on the skin.
Massages
There are many massages that can help the appearance of cellulite. Spas have been known to have
some effective cellulite treatment in Singapore, especially with pneumatic massages. There are two
methods to pneumatic massages. There are compression and cupping massages. Both types use
pressure to reduce the swelling and appearance of cellulite. They improve circulation and stimulate the

How Wilfred Owen Presents the Horror of War in Dulce et Decorum est
In the First World War people wanted the young men to go to war, but no one really knew about
conditions of the fighting in the war. Wilfred Owen was one of the people who wanted to tell the
public what war was really was like. He tried to do that through his poetry. One of his poems Dulce et
decorum est shows the horror of war very well. We know that Wilfred Owen really does know what he
s talking about as he served through most of the war and died shortly before the armistice. I am going
to compare Dulce et Decorum est with other poems on the horror of war.
Dulce et Decorum est is short for the Latin saying Dulce est ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He also alerts our senses by saying As under a green sea I saw him drowning, this alerts our senses
because we can imagine ourselves seeing someone drown.
Wilfred Owen puts dramatic similes into his poetry. Like a devils face sick of sin is quite dramatic and
gives it an evil sound. I cannot imagine a devil being sick of sin, but I think that the face would e
distorted and twisted.
He also uses harsh constantan sounds. This is reflecting the sounds of the firing of rifles and shells;
they would be short sharp sounds. All these things give us a picture in our head of life in the trenches.
This helps a lot to the horror of war as an image is more powerful then words. , and giving us the
ability to picture the scene in the poem is giving us a good impression of war and its horrors.
The point of the poem was to deliver the horrors of war to the public so that they would stop seeing
the war as such a patriotic adventure. I think Wilfred Owen manages to get his point well in the poem.
The General is a bright poem with a bouncy rhythm. This may sound like it doesn t present the horror
of war very well but it adds the irony to poem as the message contrasts with the light hearted bouncy
rhythm. By saying the General in the poem and Siegfried Sassoon

The, And Corpus Linguistics Theories And Gender Studies
Based on the CDA and corpus linguistics theories and gender studies, this study conducts an analysis
of how the descriptions and representations of rape incidents and the offenders and victims in the
discourse of rape cases have influence in the determination of rape cases in terms of the court appeal
decision. In particular, this study focuses on the discourse of appeal decisions on rape cases on
processes of education, surveillance, control and discipline of social and sexual gender behaviors in

The analysis reveals that the legal decision on rape cases are greatly affected by the languages used to
depict and represent the appellant by the defense council. Depending on the lexical descriptions of the
characteristics and behaviors of the offenders and victims, the judging cases are broadly categorized
into two spheres: hard criminals and psychologically disturbed . In the cases that are classified as hard
criminals as the description of the offenders were the ones with sexually violent and out of control
tendencies, and strangers to the victims such as violent sexual crime , and danger to female members
of the public , thus, pose a great threat to the public. On the other hand, the cases that are seen as
psychologically disturbed , the appellants in the discourse of the legal writings were described as the
sympathetic portrayal of sexually abusive partners and the ones who are in pain and suffering from

Business Model And Strategic Plan Part II
Business Model and Strategic Plan Part II: SWOTT Analysis Paper According to Colbert, a SWOT
analysis can assist a company by viewing and examining internal and external concerns; therefore it is
a useful tool to make concise strategic decisions for various periods (2015). The first aspect pertains to
the strengths that a corporation faces from all sources by scrutinizing how the company handles
situations (Colbert, 2015). Weaknesses focuses on areas that need to be addressed whether on a large
or individual scale to evaluate what courses of actions can be taken to expand on improvement
(Colbert, 2015). The third category of the analysis centers on opportunities that a business can
emphasize within their respective industry or the professional environment (Colbert, 2015). The last
section views risks that can develop from outside competitors or any problems that might arise from
any influential source; therefore it is imperative that a business entity utilizes threat factors because it
can assist in identification and problem resolution to deal with the issue at hand whether past or
present (Colbert, 2015). The Offices of MLO operates on a smaller scale than the big three such as H

Stigmatization Of Mental Illnesses Essay
A stigma is a distinguishing mark, establishing a border between a stigmatized person and others
attributing negative characteristics to this person. (Baumann, 2007) There are many different factors
that take part in the stigmatization of mental illnesses, however the greatest contributor is the social
distance that is created within society between individuals with a mental illness and those without.
There are two mind sets that can increase a person s willingness to socially distance themselves from
the mentally ill. The first mindset is that mentally ill individuals are different and therefore should be
separated. The second mindset is that mentally ill individuals are perceived as violent and this creates
a need for separation with regards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Feldman and Crandall, 2007) Society has a want to protect themselves from anything they see as a
dangerous. The common idea that people that have a mental illness are dangerous is creating a
division in the world. Although the ideas may be false it is very difficult to change a popular opinion.
Since the 1950 s American s have increased the belief that mental illnesses cause the mentally ill to
become violent. (Feldman and Crandall, 2007) To change these popular beliefs and reduce the
stigmatization around mental illness it is necessary to bring more awareness to all mental illnesses.
The social distancing disconnects people and does not allow for society to see how a mental illness
affects an individual. The false popular opinions are all that people really know about mental illnesses.
People suffering from mental illnesses are isolated and viewed as strangers in society. They are
viewed as dangerous or aggressive, which increases the likelihood of being discriminated against.
These two factors will lead to social distancing, which is the greatest contributor of the stigmatization
of mental illness. Without creating awareness of mental illnesses, the stigmatization is likely to remain
the same and there will always be a separation between those with a mental illness and those

Essay Bartolome De Las Casas
In A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies, Bartolomé de Las Casas vividly describes the
brutality wrought on the natives in the Americas by the Europeans primarily for the purpose of
proclaiming and spreading the Christian faith. Las Casas originally intended this account to reach the
royal administration of Spain; however, it soon found its way into the hands of many international
readers, especially after translation. Bartolomé de Las Casas illustrates an extremely graphic and grim
reality to his readers using literary methods such as characterization, imagery, amplification, authorial
intrusion and the invocation of providence while trying to appeal to the sympathies of his audience
about such atrocities.

He also portrays the natives with lucid terms so as to shed an innocent light on them in an attempt to
instill into his readers why it is so wrong for the Indians to be treated as they are by the Europeans.
Never quarrelsome or belligerent or boisterous, they harbour no grudges and do not seek to settle old
scores; indeed, the notions of revenge, rancour, and hatred are quite foreign to them. they are also
among the poorest people on earth They are innocent and pure of mind and have a lively
intelligence, all of which makes them particularly receptive to learning and understanding the truths of
our Catholic faith. (Casas 10)
As stated in the excerpt, Las Casas uses characterization to describe the Natives. He even says, These
would be the most blessed people on earth if only they were given the chance to convert to
Christianity (Casas 11). His use of this literary method virtually guarantees that his readers will
become empathetic toward the natives and side with Las Casas in his endeavor to protect the Indians.
Essentially, to those uneducated in the goings on in the New World, Las Casas not only educated them
but struck a sympathetic nerve that helped to push Old World Europeans toward minimizing the
cruelty in the New World. Although Las

Peter The Great s Impact On Russia With St. Petersburg
Much like Tiberius, Peter the Great had an overall auspicious impact on Russia with St. Petersburg.
During the late seventeenth century, he was a Russian czar both narcissistic and thirsty for power.
Mostly because of his reforms, Peter is known to have a positive effect on Russia, though it is
debatable. Throughout his reign and life, Peter continued struggling just to maintain power in Europe.
His reign marks a dramatic shift in the development and goal of Russia. Peter took Russia into the
European world, westernizing it, and leading him to create what is known as the the window to the
west for Russia. He did this by adopting European customs, administrative systems, architecture, and
many other ideas from Europe. He mainly focused on the navy and new technology advances Russia

Antigone, The Tragic Hero
Antigone is the tragic hero because she had goodness in her heart, nobility as a princess, a fatal flaw in
her personality, and a status downfall when she was put inside the cave. All of these descriptions fit
Aristotle s description of what a tragic hero is. Aristotle was a philosopher. He was passionate about
his own definition and characteristics of how a story s tragic hero should be portrayed. In the time he
was alive, men were shown to be the superior other. Women stayed inside while they watched the
children and cooked a nice meal for their family. Men worked to earn money for their family. So, it s
safe to say that men had more recognition. More fame . Although most people believed that, in this
arbitrary time, there were others who disagreed with these unfair decisions.
In 367 BC, Aristotle attended Plato s Academy. Plato was his professor in his twenty years of

B-Complex Vitamin Group Lab Report
The B complex vitamin group is made up of a family of eight vitamins: thiamine (vitamin B1),
riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), pyroxidine
(vitamin B6), folate (folic acid, vitamin B9), cobalamin
(vitamin B12), biotin and pantothenic acid (vitamin
B5). Although each of these has its own independent function, they work in synergy in many different
ways in the body, acting as co enzymes to help the body obtain energy from food, for example, or
supporting red blood cell formation.
This vital group of nutrients are water soluble, meaning that they dissolve in water. This results in
poor storage in the body and therefore a need to obtain a regular supply from our diet or supplement.
The water soluble status of B vitamins also means that they are easily destroyed or washed out during
food storage or preparation. Proper storage and preparation of food can minimise vitamin loss so you
should always refrigerate fresh produce, keep milk and grains away from strong light, and use cooking
water from vegetables to prepare soups.
Here is a closer look at each one....
THIAMIN (vitamin B1)
WHAT DOES IT DO? This useful vitamin helps to release energy from food, promotes muscle
function (especially in the heart), red blood cell and amino acid production, looks after the
maintenance of the nervous system and supports digestion.

WHAT IF WE DON T GET ENOUGH? A deficiency in beneficial bacteria can reduce the body s own
production of B vitamins, while medication and alcohol consumption can both increase the demand
and excretion of thiamin. Thiamin is easily lost through food processing.

Essay on Effects Of Video Games On Youth
Excessive video game playing has been a problem with today s youth they have had more influences
over the youth than ever before. That brings to my attention a question, how do video games affect the
youth of our society? Excessive video game playing, especially violent video games, can lead to youth
violence, a decrease in academic success and many other negative things. I realize that some parents
believe that they can be good for children, I agree but I also disagree in some cases. Some parents
allow their children to play video games to keep a social life and to learn how to use strategies. This is
true in some cases but not in all cases. For instance, other children that play video games alone and are
in their rooms constantly can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, considering a specific violent video game may have the reverse effect and actually
reduce perceptions of negative effects if it is difficult to generate arguments for negative effects of the
specific game (Ivory, Kalyanaraman 4). Although you may believe that violent video games increase
the youth violence rates, in actuality some violent video games can have separate effects on youth
depending on the child for instance, one child could become more violent whereas another child will
not have the urge to be violent.
Playing video games for hours at a time in one day, every day of the week can lead to another major
problem, gaming addiction. Youth may become obsessed with the game and think they have to beat it
before they do anything else and never want to leave their rooms because they want to consistently
play the game. Dr. Russell A. Sabella states in his article on Education.com that: for most people,
computer use and video game play is integrated into their lives as a balanced manner. For others, time
spent on the computer or video games is out of balance and has displaced work, school, friends, even
family (Sabella). Becoming addicted to video games can cause a lot of problems in the family because
some parents like to have family dinners and they have to literally fight with their kid to get

Charlemagne Dbq
Charlemagne played a pivotal rule in western Europe after the collapse of the Roman empire. Europe
was going through a period of time known as the dark ages. This period is from the fall of Roman to
the beginning of the Middle ages ( the dark age ). Charlemagne also known as Charles the Great
provided a turning point to this era and was able to slow down the cultural and political crumbling of
the Middle ages. In order to secure these two important aspects of the new empire he relied on
numerous resources (Charlemagne). One of Charlemagne s greatest resources was the church. His
history with them dated back to 754 where he took part in the anointment of Pepin who became king
due to Pope Stephen II (Charlemange). After Pepin s death Charlemagne

Narcotic Dressing Methods
Pain is the most predominant symptom experience after an injury and dressing changes only add to the
pain. A method is required to decrease the amount of pain during a dressing change to help promote
wound healing and increase hand function (Guo, Deng, Yang, 2014). Some of the treatments we use
presently in the hospital to decrease pain, such as analgesics, can cause respiratory depression,
decrease blood pressure and other side effects (Guo et al., 2014, p.116). Another treatment used is a
narcotic dressing which can significantly increase the cost of treatment. This study looks at the use of
a nonpharmacological way of decreasing pain during a dressing change by the use of virtual reality
distraction. The purpose of this research study ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Guo et al. s (2014) states that when analgesics are unavailable, this tool is convenient for nurses to
use. There are many resources necessary to implement virtual reality distraction. The study used many
devices including: a pair of ultra high resolution 3D glasses, headphones, mouse, computer and the 3D
film (Guo et al., 2014). These resources may not be readily available in undeveloped Countries. They
also may have a large cost that some hospitals may not be able to afford. This can be another
limitation in regards to who is able to access the resource. In the future, knowing that a patient s pain
can be relieved by nonpharmacological means will help provide better care. Many patients do not like
taking analgesics in fear that they will become addicted. This method may help alleviate the patients
anxiety since the fear of addiction is not present if they are not taking analgesics. The institution that
the patient is receiving care at may not have the resources needed for virtual reality. However,
knowing that the pain is decreased with virtual reality distraction will allow nurses to adapt this
method to what they have available. For example, allowing the patient to watch television, listen to
music, or play a game on their mobile devise will help distract them during the dressing change.

The Hittite, Jewish, Phoenician, Persian, And Assyrians
The Hittite, Jewish, Phoenician, Persian, and Assyrians nations are all very important nations within
Mesopotamia. They share similar attributes but differ at the same time. The HIttites were one of the
great empires of the Middle East during 1400 1200 BC. THey rested within the lands of modern
Turkey and Syria. They adopted some of the traditions of Mesopotamia (i.e. cuneiform writing).
Widely known for their use and manufacturing of iron, the Hittites were also famous for their chariot
building. The Hittite empire soon fell to the Assyrians. The Jewish were led to Israel by one of their
patriarchs, Abraham, around 1950 B.C.E. Throughout time, the Israelites were captured numerous

Sone, they became expert sailors and grew wealthy from trade. The creation of the Phoenician
alphabet is one of the greatest accomplishments they achieved and was used by many other
civilizations. With the founding of Carthage and other colonies, the use of paryus before the Greeks is
a few of their other achievements. In 550 B.C.E. to 331 B.C.E. the Persian empire went from India all
the way to Europe. Cyrus the Great was one of Persia s kings. The geography limited trade with other
neighboring civilizations. Persia conquered Anatolia for the purpose of the use of their seaports for
trade. Cyrus son created the Persian satrap (governors). After unsuccessfully invading Greece, due to
the rebellions within the civilizations, Persia was conquered by Alexander the Great. The Assyrian
empire spans over modern day Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. The rivers Tigris and Euphrates both ran
through the Assyrian empire which also contained rich and fertile land. The spoken languages they
used were Akkadian and Assyrian ( Assyrian Neo Aramaic) while writing with cuneiform. The
Assyrians participated in the religions Ashurism and Christianity. Assyrians were often militaristic and
known their advanced and developed strategies. The Assyrians were known for their highly aggressive

Becoming A Progressive Writer
Progressive Writer In the beginning of the semester my writing skills were not so great, as I look back
now and see how much I have grown and became a stronger writer. Now I am proud to say I have
stronger writing skills. During the time of me trying to adjust to college life, there were many different
obstacles I had to overcome. Some of which are procrastination, criticism, and comma and
punctuation placement. Some of which I still have trouble with today, but I am way better then I first
started. Starting with procrastination, I felt that with some assignments I could wait, put them off till
another time and do them when I got ready. When I first started college the advice I got was do your
work at your own pace but I soon realized that

Words That Describes Me Research Paper
Unique, funny, quirky, loving, and weird. These are just some words that describes me! I am a funny,
loving 12 year old 7th grader that has many passions including spending quality family time, playing
sports, going out into nature, and trying to make a school team.
When I am feeling down, just taking a walk into nature brings me to my happy place. The fresh air
that gently brushes my face. Or going on a hike listening to the animal s calls. Even just looking
around at the scenery. Mankind s love for nature has always been a great mystery. Some might say it
has it has no purpose, but everything was made to have a cause. I believe that nature s cause is to bring
happiness to everyone and to find their inner piece. That s why I drew a tree ... Show more content on

The shoes screeching against the waxed floor on a basketball court, the ref s whistle as someone make
a foul, the crowd screams as someone makes a basket. The anxiety everyone gets as someone makes
the winning basket. Basketball has always had this interesting spark, like when you get married and
you know he s the one. Well, basketball is the one for me. Basketball you get work as a team, get good
exercise, and have fun while doing it. When I was little I had always showed an interest for sports, but
as I progressed in the years my love for sports went to basketball. Snowboarding is by far my favorite
winter activity. Snowboarding down the mountains, getting off the lift, getting a cool board, and
having comfy boots. These are all what come in the package when you sign up for snowboarding.
When I was little my family and I skied. As they went from okay to amazing, I went from okay to
terrible. I fell behind and started to struggle. While they went down green and blue slopes, I would go
down the bunny slopes with my mom. Sometimes I would go down green, but it was hard for me.
That s when my family noticed and decided to enroll me in a ski school. As I got better and better, my
love for skii got worse. I did

Charles Sullivan And Frank Lloyd Wright
Prairie School architecture is one of the most definitive types of North American architecture. From
the long sloping roofs to the handcrafted look that these buildings convey, there is nothing quite like
the way that the Prairie School shaped the American Midwest. Even today, Prairie School continues to
influence those looking for a more rustic look in their houses. With the mass imports of foreign goods,
many people are looking for something distinctly American and one thing becomes abundantly clear;
Prairie School is an important style for current and future American s as they look for a way to both
show modernism as well as older styles at the same time.
It becomes necessary to look at the people and events that made this movement ... Show more content

The third building to be analyzed is The Fallingwater House in Pennsylvania, a classic Prairie School
house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
The beginning of the 20th century was a time of major change for the world. Factories had begun
pumping out vast quantities of cheap goods to the public. The Arts and Crafts Movement was in full
swing. Science was making leaps and bounds. America had started to become exposed to many new
cultures rather than just European. Recent explorations of Asia and Egypt had brought back many new
influences to the people. Realizing now that there was something else out there gave incentive to
break from the classicism that had dominated architecture. Before that change could take place
however, something big needed to happen. That event just happened to take place in the American
Midwest, in no other city than Chicago.
The Prairie School would start in the late 1890s and last until the onset of World War 1.2 Although the
majority of architects would shift their focus at the start of the Great War, some would continue to use
elements of Prairie School in their works well into the future.
Much of Prairie School emerged out of Chicago. In fact, many of the architects that made up the
backbone of the Prairie School had got their start in Chicago. There were many reasons for this, but
one really stood out. In 1871, a fire all but burned Chicago to the ground. The Great

In the year 1936, Peru, author Mario Vargas Llosa was born to Dora Llosa Ureta and Ernesto Vargas Maldonado. Under the influence of Peruvian writers like Martín Adán, Carlos Oquendo de Amat, and César Moro, Mario Vargas Llosa developed a talent for revolutionary literature. Mario Llosa Vargas is a successful author because he informs others of social injustices, he gave a voice to those who couldn t stand up against oppression, and become an agent of social changes. ... While, many authors out of fear never dared to publish any work documenting the horrors of Trujillo. Vargas along with a few others dared to bring forward the sins of Rafael Trujillo. In order to inform others of the truth in his book, The Feast Of The Goat, Mario Vargas Llosa includes intimate details of the characters as well as Trujillo. In his book, Vargas states, No sweat, no sleep, never had a wrinkle in uniform, morning coat or lounge suit (118). It can be concluded, that Trujillo aimed for perfection and as a result he was paranoid on keeping everything under what he considered to be order. Vargas uses how Trujillo presents himself as a symbol of how he rules the Dominican Republic. Furthermore, Vargas is able to capture in his writing Trujillo s paranoidness and then, he gets the message across to the Latin American audience. In addition, Vargas work give a voice to those lived under oppression. Due to the fear Rafael Trujillo implemented on the people; they were too afraid to tell their stories. • 4. Objective Theory of Contracts The four elements of a valid contract are offer and acceptance, meeting of the minds, consideration and competent parties. The contract must cover a legal purpose or objective as well (Binder, 2012). The objective theory of contracts holds that contract formation is dependent on what is communicated, rather than what is thought by one of the parties (Barnes, 2008). The Pepsi Harrier case (Leonard v. PepsiCo) is an example of a situation where the four elements of a contract are simply not met. Advertisements in general constitute an invitation to treat, rather than an offer. Therefore, Leonard was not able to accept the offer, because the offer never existed. As such, the basic elements of a contract were not present in their entirety, meaning that no contract existed between Pepsi and the Seattle man. The objective theory of contracts is relevant to this case, because there was a clear difference between what Pepsi was thinking and what Leonard was thinking. Each had their own view of what the advertisement constituted, and it is from these differing views that the contract dispute arose. The judge in this situation must use the objective theory to decide the case. This means that the case can only rest on what has actually been communicated between the two parties. In this case, Pepsi has an advertisement that discusses its promotion. The promotion describes a bargain in which a customer presents Pepsi with points and Pepsi allows the customer to redeem those points ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Effects Of Advertising In Advertising The Brain on Ads We see advertisements every day. They are everywhere. Advertisements like to tell consumers what to get and which is the best, saying that with this product it you will be happy and satisfied. Consumers probably believe that they have their own preferences, but, what they believe is them choosing what to buy and have, advertisements are subconsciously swaying them one way or another. Big advertising companies makes people believe that one drink differs from the other or that one burger is better than the competitor. According to The Brain: Marketing to your mind by Alice park. Alice brings up very good claims on how advertising effects our brains; claiming that advertisements tap into our emotions to sell and claims that these advertisements even trick many into that a brand image correlates to satisfaction eventually creating brand loyalty just from seeing commercials. Alice Park shows us in her article that big advertisement companies pull in many people with their appeal of the item from the colors on the screen to the display of how the product is placed all to make their brand the best and persuade us into buying it. Advertisements put all these effects in motion to get to the one main thing, your perceptions. Perceptions play a large roll in these advertisements. An advertisement with someone sipping on a coke and seems satisfied or when watching an Old Spice commercial that someone who smells good also looks good, this all triggers something in us ... • 6. Freedom Of Religious Freedom Freedom of religion When we say freedom of religion what is that exactly means? The First Amendment describe the right of religion like this, everyone in the United States can practice to any religion or not practice a religion. (Your Right to Religious Freedom) In the united states, there is no an official religion and the government do not give any support for any religion institution because of the government want to encourage and promoting religion in any ways. In addition to that, nobody can penalize any citizen because of their religious beliefs. It s always best to keep the government out of religion to protect religion liberty. • 7. Negative Aspects Of Masculinity Gone are the days of masculinity being a mountain man or a cutthroat businessman, society is no longer the 1800s or an episode of MadMen. Currently, some of society s expectations of masculinity (as defined by experts) are a desire to win, need for emotional control, dominance (including that over women), violence, sexual promiscuity, and a pursuit of status. However masculinity can also be something that is positive. Like a steady rock to build emotional support upon, a stoic person can be an excellent resource. This can be like the person that hides their emotion in order to better others that need a push forward when their emotions get the better of them. This is where masculine ideals can be a double edged sword because these traits can be beneficial in some manners but it can also have some detriments that occur consequently. It is not that men are not masculine; it is that masculinity does not represent men anymore. Because of the negative side effects of men exhibiting masculine traits they should no longer be expected to adhere to all of these traditional ideals. The traits that are normally associated with masculinity are ones that can be detrimental to the mental health of the people who have these traits. For example in an analysis of seventy eight different studies, researchers at the University of Indiana Bloomington found that men who exhibited masculine traits were more likely to have mental health issues such as depression. The same men were also less likely to seek help when it came to their mental health issues. The traits that were most commonly associated with the negative mental health were being self reliant, sexual promiscuity, and having dominance or power over women. Expecting someone to be stoic and only depending on themselves means they will be less likely to go and seek psychological help as they would feel that they need to be able to solve their problems themselves. This societal pressure upon men to be dominating and stoic is not good for their mental health. So the pressure should be lessened or removed to the point where men are no longer expected to have these traits as the other option leads to depression that goes untreated. This meta analysis, headed by Associate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Grand Theft Auto IIi ( Abbreviated Iv ) Video games have been enjoyed by millions of gamers for decades, and the industry is wildly popular. Video games are a great way for a person to sit back and relax and to have fun doing it. In 2001, a game designing company known as DMA Design (now Rockstar North) changed the video game industry forever with the release of Grand Theft Auto III (abbreviated as GTA III). Grand Theft Auto III was one of the most influential video games because it was the first massively popular game to include a fully explorable open world, combine many different video game genres into a successful game, include a wealth of content, and spawn countless sandbox games that attempted to recreate GTA III s success. No product can succeed in the market without proper marketing and exposure. Grand Theft Auto III was very controversial, as it included swearing, violence, prostitutes, and more. It received a lot of backlash and criticism from the media, but that only led to its increased popularity among gamers (Leigh). GTA III s media exposure is a part of what made it so popular, and that is what led to its large influence on the video game industry. While it was not the first game to include an open world, Grand Theft Auto III was the first game to include a fully explorable open city on a large scale. In addition to the open world, players were not forced to mindlessly complete mission after mission until finishing the game and letting it collect dust on the shelf. Instead, GTA III allowed ... • 10. The Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Single Parenting... A single parent could feel like a mouse racing on a wheel, where she/he is continually running, trying to maintain a proper household and raise healthy children. This is a statement from Victoria Thompson. I do believe in this statement because for me single parents, unlike the married couple, are having a hard time in dividing their time with their work and taking good care of their kids. So, single parenting faces more disadvantages like the experience of economic hardship, negative judgment of the community and the psychological effects on rearing children that make the family and relation cycle really complicated. Single parenting is about having a child without living with a partner or spouse. In historical events, the major reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, their children may suffer bullying because of having only one parent. This can affect the children s way of living. Kids who are bullied can experience negative physical, school, and mental health issues. The child will not be able to do what he wants because he will be afraid to socialize with other children. Second, a child with a single parent can compare their selves to the other children who have married parents. A child may feel envious about not having a father/mother to guide him/her. According to Paul R. Amato, Children living with single parents are exposed to more stressful experiences and circumstances than being children living with continuously married parents. This statement proves that single parents are having a hard time raising their children. Lastly, the children living with a single parent can have a hard time expressing their feelings. Children who don t see or feel the act of love between his/her parent can have a hard time expressing their feelings with other person. Many of his pieces are contrasting, but the two that I have chosen are his Piano Sonata (1924) and Tango. These pieces are very diverse. While Stravinsky is not mostly known for his piano pieces, they are my favorite of his works. Stravinsky s Piano Sonata, has three movements. The first movement is quarter note equals 112, the second is adagietto and the third is quarter note equals 112 as well. This piece sounds very similar to compositions from the Baroque, Classical and Early Romantic eras. All three movements sound like a mixture of Bach and Beethoven. • 18. Sieve Analysis Test Lab Report INTRODUCTION Aggregate is one of the basic constituents of concrete. Its quality is of considerable importance because about three quarter of the volume of concrete is occupied by aggregates. One of the physical properties of aggregate that influence the property of concrete is the grading of aggregate. The grading of aggregate defines the proportions of particles of different size in the aggregate. The grading of fine (size lt; 5 mm) and coarse (size gt; 5 mm) aggregates are generally required to be within the limits specified in BS 882: 1992. Federal Elections Campaign Act of 1974 Following the Watergate scandal, the Federal Elections Campaign Act of 1974 was amended to create the regulatory agency, known as the Federal Elections Commission, in 1975. The duties of the FEC consist largely of enforcing regulation, limitation, and prohibition on financial contributions to federal campaigns, candidates, political parties, and political action committees. The Act has thoroughly set limits on the amount of money a person or committee may donate to the previously mentioned situations. For example, an individual can donate no more than $2,600 to any federal campaign per election, and a combined limit of $10,000 to local and state parties every calendar year. The case at hand involves Shaun McCutcheon challenging the aggregate limits as a violation of the First Amendment right of expression. An Alabaman Conservative businessman, McCutcheon expressed that he wished to donate more than the contributions he was able to make in the last election cycle. He wanted to contribute an amount that would stay within base limits but surpass aggregate limits set by the FEC. In distric court, the plaintiffs claimed aggregate limits as unconstitutional and impeding on a First Amendment right. The district court system ruled against the plaintiff, asserting that the government could regulate aggregate limits because it would be preventing corruption or the appearance of corruption. • 25. Food And Eating In Christianity And Hinduism Food and eating are at the centre of Christianity and Hinduism for centuries. The Fall of Adam and Eve, after eating the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden, is one of the central tropes in the Western discourses. A special kind of food becomes a cause for the first man and woman s damnation, and ironically, I argue, a new opportunity to control the new dominion . God commands, specifically, what requirements man should fulfill, including what he needs to eat in order to secure his union with the god. Food, therefore, can work to uplift man to heaven if chosen accordingly, or could be a cause for his damnation to hell. The humanisation of animals and the necessity of human beings to understand the importance of respecting their value corresponds to the idea of prelapsarian world where Adam and Eve lived in harmony with the animals. They lived in a world where animals had human sensitivity, and were free of any human interference. Violence against any creature was not imagined in the prelapsarian world. Joan Fitzpatrick argues that Shakespeare may have strange sympathy for vegetarianism, especially in those plays where pastoralism features (Renaissance Food from Rabelais to Shakespeare: Culinary Readings and Culinary Histories 140). Business Model And Strategic Plan Part II Business Model and Strategic Plan Part II: SWOTT Analysis Paper According to Colbert, a SWOT analysis can assist a company by viewing and examining internal and external concerns; therefore it is a useful tool to make concise strategic decisions for various periods (2015). The first aspect pertains to the strengths that a corporation faces from all sources by scrutinizing how the company handles situations (Colbert, 2015). Weaknesses focuses on areas that need to be addressed whether on a large or individual scale to evaluate what courses of actions can be taken to expand on improvement (Colbert, 2015). The third category of the analysis centers on opportunities that a business can emphasize within their respective industry or the professional environment (Colbert, 2015). The last section views risks that can develop from outside competitors or any problems that might arise from any influential source; therefore it is imperative that a business entity utilizes threat factors because it can assist in identification and problem resolution to deal with the issue at hand whether past or present (Colbert, 2015). Since the 1950 s American s have increased the belief that mental illnesses cause the mentally ill to become violent. I had many great experiences in my life, but I have also had many disappointing ones. • 44. B-Complex Vitamin Group Lab Report The B complex vitamin group is made up of a family of eight vitamins: thiamine (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), pyroxidine (vitamin B6), folate (folic acid, vitamin B9), cobalamin (vitamin B12), biotin and pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). Although each of these has its own independent function, they work in synergy in many different ways in the body, acting as co enzymes to help the body obtain energy from food, for example, or supporting red blood cell formation. This vital group of nutrients are water soluble, meaning that they dissolve in water. This results in poor storage in the body and therefore a need to obtain a regular supply from our diet or supplement. The water soluble status of B vitamins also means that they are easily destroyed or washed out during food storage or preparation. Proper storage and preparation of food can minimise vitamin loss so you should always refrigerate fresh produce, keep milk and grains away from strong light, and use cooking water from vegetables to prepare soups. Here is a closer look at each one.... THIAMIN (vitamin B1) WHAT DOES IT DO? This useful vitamin helps to release energy from food, promotes muscle function (especially in the heart), red blood cell and amino acid production, looks after the maintenance of the nervous system and supports digestion. WHERE IS IT FOUND? In whole grains, oats, red meat, seafood, nuts, pulses and yeast. WHAT IF WE DON T GET ENOUGH? A deficiency in beneficial bacteria can reduce the body s own production of B vitamins, while medication and alcohol consumption can both increase the demand and excretion of thiamin. Thiamin is easily lost through food processing. NATURAL HEALTH 73 natural EAT In the second part of a new series looking at key vitamins and minerals, nutritional therapist Henrietta Norton explores the importance of the B vitamin group RIBOFLAVIN (vitamin B2) WHAT DOES IT DO? Like thiamin, this helps to release energy from food, but it also supports mucus membranes (including those in the eye), assists in neurological health, promotes skin and hair strength (as it acts as an antioxidant) and supports the immune system and the production of antibodies. • 45. Essay on Effects Of Video Games On Youth Excessive video game playing has been a problem with today s youth they have had more influences over the youth than ever before. That brings to my attention a question, how do video games affect the youth of our society? Excessive video game playing, especially violent video games, can lead to youth violence, a decrease in academic success and many other negative things. I realize that some parents believe that they can be good for children, I agree but I also disagree in some cases. Some parents allow their children to play video games to keep a social life and to learn how to use strategies. This is true in some cases but not in all cases. For instance, other children that play video games alone and are in their rooms constantly can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, considering a specific violent video game may have the reverse effect and actually reduce perceptions of negative effects if it is difficult to generate arguments for negative effects of the specific game (Ivory, Kalyanaraman 4). Although you may believe that violent video games increase the youth violence rates, in actuality some violent video games can have separate effects on youth depending on the child for instance, one child could become more violent whereas another child will not have the urge to be violent. Playing video games for hours at a time in one day, every day of the week can lead to another major problem, gaming addiction. Youth may become obsessed with the game and think they have to beat it before they do anything else and never want to leave their rooms because they want to consistently play the game. Dr. Russell A. Sabella states in his article on Education.com that: for most people, computer use and video game play is integrated into their lives as a balanced manner. For others, time spent on the computer or video games is out of balance and has displaced work, school, friends, even family (Sabella). Becoming addicted to video games can cause a lot of problems in the family because some parents like to have family dinners and they have to literally fight with their kid to get ... There are many resources necessary to implement virtual reality distraction. The study used many devices including: a pair of ultra high resolution 3D glasses, headphones, mouse, computer and the 3D film (Guo et al., 2014). These resources may not be readily available in undeveloped Countries. They also may have a large cost that some hospitals may not be able to afford. This can be another limitation in regards to who is able to access the resource. In the future, knowing that a patient s pain can be relieved by nonpharmacological means will help provide better care. Many patients do not like taking analgesics in fear that they will become addicted. This method may help alleviate the patients anxiety since the fear of addiction is not present if they are not taking analgesics. The institution that the patient is receiving care at may not have the resources needed for virtual reality. However, knowing that the pain is decreased with virtual reality distraction will allow nurses to adapt this method to what they have available. For example, allowing the patient to watch television, listen to music, or play a game on their mobile devise will help distract them during the dressing change. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even today, Prairie School continues to influence those looking for a more rustic look in their houses. With the mass imports of foreign goods, many people are looking for something distinctly American and one thing becomes abundantly clear; Prairie School is an important style for current and future American s as they look for a way to both show modernism as well as older styles at the same time. The third building to be analyzed is The Fallingwater House in Pennsylvania, a classic Prairie School house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The beginning of the 20th century was a time of major change for the world. Factories had begun pumping out vast quantities of cheap goods to the public. The Arts and Crafts Movement was in full swing. Science was making leaps and bounds. America had started to become exposed to many new cultures rather than just European. Recent explorations of Asia and Egypt had brought back many new influences to the people. Realizing now that there was something else out there gave incentive to break from the classicism that had dominated architecture. Before that change could take place however, something big needed to happen. That event just happened to take place in the American Midwest, in no other city than Chicago. The Prairie School would start in the late 1890s and last until the onset of World War 1.2 Although the majority of architects would shift their focus at the start of the Great War, some would continue to use elements of Prairie School in their works well into the future. Much of Prairie School emerged out of Chicago. In fact, many of the architects that made up the backbone of the Prairie School had got their start in Chicago.
