2. Consumerisms In Recession
The recession that will be focused on is the most recent 2007 2009 recession. This recession cost
the US labor market 8.4 million jobs. Job loss is one of the hardest things to recover from after a
recession. Stocks go up, consumers continue with their purchases as some of them release times
are getting better. However the economy is a rollercoaster, it goes from being at the top of the
track with stocks high, and jobs growing each day to slowly descending to a crash, or in the
reference of the rollercoaster descending off of the hill that it climbed to. Consumers in today s
society see a recession as a new trend, and the way they spend reflects as such during this time.

Previously society experienced the rise and fall more sporadically, however today, the
recessions are so close together that it is becoming more and more difficult to analyze the space
in between. In the recessions of 1974 1975 the government leaders, who took the iniative to alert
people that in the coming year they would experience a downturn, foresaw the recession. This
recession was recorder to be the worst since the 1930 s, for an accumulation of reasons; the
largest factor being the American aggression in the Vietnam War . Paul Volcker was a critic on the
American dollar and the American s involvement by stating Our failure to face up to the financing
of the Vietnam war [was] one key factor in setting up the subsequent inflation . This is a statement
that could be used for any recession. Simply by changing the war, and the point in which the quote
could be referring to, there is the leading cause to a recession. However, the war would then affect
the natural state of the economy. Without the war the government would have used the money
elsewhere, would have gone where it needs to go, or would the government find another cause to
invest in? The questions of government spending follows a dangerous line of whether the money
spent in one place was worth it. However, with the investment in war, it puts a deficit on the
country, which leads

innovative training system. Our system is catered around biomechanics. In the last three years,
we ve had staggering results in our sports training. Within a couple of months, we dropped 100
meter times 8/10 of a second and increased bat speeds four to seven miles. We increased vertical
jumps up to seven inches in multiple athletes. In a few month s time, we also increased throwing
velocity five miles. We accomplished these incredible feats by using our modern, functional training
system. We are currently working with NFL athletes and we want to spread the word to others in the

We are against this concept. Science has proven that when you bulk a muscle, it loses it s elastic
qualities. As a result, the center of the muscle is shortened, balled up, and pulled away from
connective tissue which connects/holds muscles to the joints. This is called muscle hypertrophy.
Science has shown that it can have an adverse effect on athletic movement. This puts more stress
on the ligaments and tendons and causes muscular imbalances. Compare the way a human body is
made to a trampoline. A trampoline has a webbing or net in the middle which we jump on. All of
the focus and attention is usually on the net, similar to how most of the attention is usually put on
the size of the athlete s muscles. But what is actually firing or creating most of the power? Is it the
webbing or the springs? Think about it, the springs that are connected to the skeleton of the
trampoline are actually absorbing most of the shock applied to the trampoline. The springs reverse
that energy and catapults a person high into the air. So we have a net, that is connected to a spring,
that is connected to the skeleton of the trampoline. The human body is made the same way. We have
muscles that are attached to ligaments and tendons that are connected to skeletal bone. Our
philosophy of power is this: plyometrics has proven to be the best way to improve muscle elasticity
and connective tissue strength. There is also a timing that comes along with plyometric

4. William Shakespeare s The Trojan War
Shakespeare uses the backdrop of the Trojan War in Troilus and Cressida to explore the
interpretation of honor as something extrinsic without associating it with intrinsic moral values. In
the seventeenth century, honour was used in four different ways: fame, renown, glory; credit, good
name, reputation; noble rank, position of dignity, title of renown; source of distinction. Fame and
reputation are the most common uses of honor throughout the play. Therefore, to avoid confusion
and redundancy, fame and reputation will be synonymous to honor for this analysis. Curiously,
honourable is defined as honest, upright, and distinguished. The adjective s definition has clear
moral roots based on societal and cultural norms. Thus, in regards to morals, it seems as though
during Shakespeare s time there was a clear divergence between honor and its derivatives.
Therefore, by examining the significance and usage of honor throughout Troilus and Cressida, it
becomes apparent that chivalrous and moral undertones are being exploited to advance glory
and reputation. In the Prologue, Shakespeare presents the play with chivalrous expressions by
describing the Greek invasion of Troy as a rescue mission to save the ravished Helen who is being
held prisoner behind the massive walls of Troy (I.1 9). The classic damsel in distress setting.
Menelaus rallied the kings and armies of Greece under this moral banner to set sail and lay siege to
Troy. However, by conquering Troy and saving

their time protesting for the right to vote, and be able to have the same jobs as men. The first
picture in the collage shows women who are holding a banner that is telling the president that
women deserve liberty. It took a lot for the 19th amendment to be ratified, including a lot of
protesting to get people s attention. The women of the 20`s wanted social justice and equality. The

6. A Teacher Can Impact A Student s Life
Confucius, a famous Chinese teacher said, Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope.
Hope breeds peace. In the previous quote by Confucius, it is obvious that a teacher can impact a
student s life. Moreover (TRANS), the way a teacher generates hope and confidence provide a good
equity at school for the students; therefore, a good teacher spread confidence in students, which
may help them to be encouraged. Maintaining the right balance of strictness and friendliness,
encouraging students, and finding the right teachingmethods for each student are three of the many
characteristics in becoming an inspirational teacher. First, maintaining the right balance of
strictness and friendliness is one of the most impactful factors for a teacher who (AC) tries to have
an appropriate relationship between students. Also, instructors are supposed to follow up with their
students to understand students difficulties and their situation in life. Providing an email address,
phone number, and office hours help students to keep in touch with their instructor. However,
teachers need to keep the balance between friendliness and strictness; moreover, an inspirational
instructor needs to set up some rules for the classroom environment. For example, the instructor
may request students politely that they are not allowed to use their phone during the class because
it distracts them from paying attention to the class and subject. However, instructors should not be
hard for their students

7. Acid-Base Neutralization Reaction
What is an Acid Base Neutralization Reaction? Acid base neutralization reactions are ubiquitous,
yet they play an immense role in various contexts of life. For instance, they help maintain
homeostasis in the biological systems and regulate the conditions of soil in agriculture. In general,
neutralization reactions required two reactants: an acidand a base, which combine to form water
and a salt. A neutralization reaction is a reaction between an acid and a base (Burdge 365). In
this case, the acid is often an Arrhenius acid a substance that ionizes in water to produce protons
(H+), while the base is often an Arrhenius base a substance that ionizes in water to produce
hydroxide ions (OH ). A neutralization reaction between an acid and a base typically occurs in
an aqueous environment in which all the reactants are dissolved in water. The products of a
neutralization reaction are water, which is formed from the protons (H+) of the acid and the
hydroxide ions (OH ) of the base, and a salt, which is an ionic compound made up of the cation
from the base and the anion from an acid (Burdge 365). A simple example of a neutralization
reaction is the reaction between aqueous hydrochloric acid (HCl) and aqueous sodium hydroxide
(NaOH). Hydrochloric acid donates its protons (H+), and sodium hydroxide donates its hydroxide
ions (OH ) to form liquid water. Then, the remaining chloride ions (Cl ) from hydrochloric acid
combines with the sodium cations (Na+) to produce the aqueous

By comparing both stories together, and the characters within them, it is clear that neither the
narrator from The Yellow Wallpaper or Harrison from Harrison Bergeron agree with the way they
are being treated caused by their social, political and economic standpoint in society. In both stories
they have opposing forces trying to dictate their life, and telling them who they are supposed to be.
Within the story The Yellow Wallpaper , the narrator is being authorized by her husband john and in
the story Harrison Bergeron, Harrison is being oppressed by his government system. In both
societies of the stories, the characters are treated differently for who they are. The people to
have more power in their lives, decide who they are and what they can be. The ultimate outcome
of their life is up to the forces controlling them. Both characters have no way to escape the labels
given to them, without going against the people restraining their potential. The characters have
many good attributes to them, but are confined to being what others tell them to be. The narrator
has wonderful writing skills and an active mind which allows her to be creative and have an
artistic personality, but her husband will not allow her to write or be who she wants to be because
he has the capability to control who she is. Harrison is a genius and an athlete who could build

Should steroids be made legal in professional sports?

Others aren t so lucky. If PEDs were made legal, every athlete would have his or her option of

how there needs to be better safety in football; that these guys are too much for a helmet to

I knew everything was going to change. But it was then when I came to know my culture values. It
took perhaps the combination of being in another, foreign culture and being away from my own
to make clear to me the impact of culture on my life. I began to know the value of Familismo. I
started to value more than before the close relationship I had with my relatives. I even realized that
being a country that gives many opportunities could allow me and my family to aid my members of
the family experiencing financial problems, unemployment, or other issues.
When I came to the United States I also came to put in practice the value of Simpatia ( kindness )
as well as the value of Respeto. I was taught to value respect, and be kind to others. For example
when my parents, elders or other relatives need care I am responsible to care for them as just as
they took care of me in my earliest stages of life. I was taught to never answer back to not only
elders, but to anyone who s older than I. I had the privilege of having experienced both Hispanic
and American cultures; however growing up with mainly Hispanic culture values has shaped me to
be the person I am today.

THE IMPACT OF REGULATION ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES:
A CROSS COUNTRY ANALYSIS
1
ABSTRACT
The role of an effective regulatory regime in promoting economic growth and development has
generated considerable interest among researchers and practitioners in recent years. In particular,
building effective regulatory structures in developing countries is not simply an issue of the
technical design of the most appropriate regulatory instruments, it is also concerned with the quality
of supporting regulatory institutions and capacity. This paper explores the role of state regulation
using an econometric model of the impact of regulation on growth. The results based on two

The rest of the paper is organised as follows. Section 2 reviews issues in the literature pertinent to
the debate on the role of regulation in economic growth, before turning to regulatory measures and
proxies for the quality of regulation. In section 3 the models used are presented. Section 4 deals
with a descriptive analysis of the data and reports the
regression results. The results confirm that the quality of state regulation impacts positively on

LITERATURE REVIEW (a) Regulation Theory
The theory of economic regulation developed from the nineteenth century and the literature is
now vast (for recent reviews, see Laffont and Tirole, 1993, 2000; Levy and Spiller, 1994; Newbery,
1999). The case for economic regulation is premised on the existence of
significant market failure resulting from economies of scale and scope in production, from
information imperfections in market transactions, from the existence of incomplete markets and
externalities, and from resulting income and wealth distribution effects. It has been suggested that
market failures may be more pronounced, and therefore the case for public regulation is stronger, in
developing countries (Stiglitz 1998). More recent theoretical contributions to the regulation
literature have provided a model of regulation for network industries that recognises the
18. Beetroot Cell Membrane Permeability Experiment
Practical Assessment
Planning
AIM
Beetroot cells contain a red pigment, which is stored in the cell vacuole and a vacuole membrane
to prevent this leaking out of the cell surrounds it. The outer of the cell is also surrounded by a
membrane, which again helps contain the pigment inside the cell. In this experiment I aim to find
out the relationship between the leakage of red pigment from a beetroot cell and the surface area. To
do this successfully I will need to alter the surface area of the beetroot cells accurately and then
measure if any and how much dye is let out. I can hopefully then look at my results and then find a
relationship between the two factors and be able to explain exactly why any changes took place.
PREDICTION
For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this reason the water used will be at room temperature (23В° approx) and will be performed on
the same day to allow no margin for any discrepancies.
Time Time is an important factor. When leaving the beetroot in the test tubes it must be ensured
that they are in the water for exactly 20 minutes each. This will make sure that the same period of
time is given for dye leakage to occur. To control this, putting the beetroot into each test tube two
minutes apart will give enough time for them to be removed before the next test tube is ready to
have its contents removed.
pH pH can affect the structure of a membrane and therefore cause it to be unable to function
efficiently. The pH s, which cause this affect, would be those that are acid or alkaline. Therefore
we must use water as our substance as it has a pH 7 and this is neutral and will have no affect on
the leakage of pigment.

Cooperative learning is a revolutionary style of teaching that offers students a chance to work
together, communicate, build social skills, and acquire self confidence. It is important to inspire
students to be excited about learning and to encourage their involvement in the learning process.
There are many studies that offer important information and have determined that cooperative
learningnot only helps students improve academically, but that it also shows that students take
pride in the fact they can cooperate and complete something together. Educators need to open the
doors for students to have the opportunity to understand cooperative learning and become efficient
with it. Offering students a chance to grow socially, academically, and understand the values of
communication and teamwork is important for their future.
Our educational system is one of the most influential molds for young members of our society.
How children learn and grow influences the future and it is important for them to learn as much
information and skills as possible. However, education is not just about learning facts and
classroom material. One of the most important lessons students can learn is to work together,
which will be very important as they grow and enter the working world. The process of teaching
how to utilize groups and hands on activities is called cooperative learning. Cooperative learning is

troublesome life in the German city of Schwabisch Hall, where she spent the majority of her life,
while still moving from town to town. While the book surrounds the life of Anna Buschler, it also

other possessions of his for a sum of money in order to buy things for herself, and keep her
rendezvous with her lovers a secret. And her father and brother were the ones who discovered,
confiscated, and preserved the extremely rare cache of her love letters (3). This was ultimately the
fall of Anna s character, as her father then attacked her, banished her from his home, and took away
her inheritance, which would start the legal battle with her father and other family members for
many years to come (2). Anna would take this court case to her grave as it would never be settled,
and she would go through many misfortunes while trying to gain the legal right to her inheritance.
From birth till around the time her mother died, Anna Buschler lived a normal life as the daughter
of a wealthy bourgeoisie class member. Through the research of Anna s life, Ozment was able to

The Congo was a place that was very rich in economic resources, mineral wealth and natural
resources, but with all that aside, it was still considered the heart of darkness. The Congo was
primarily known for the economic exploitation of natural resources and labor, the main attraction
of the Congo included ivory, rubber and rich minerals. The main issue would be the fact that the
leader of colonization, King Leopold II had no sense of set control over the overran African chunk,

of the colony during the 19th century, Leopold kept the system flowing with every resources
and trade yet he did not share any of his knowledge with the original tribes that resided, after his
departure many of the few settlers that remained no longer knew how to repair what was so far

lack in food for the population that resides there. In current date, The Congo barely has little, to

families in fact are malnourished. There is almost no help at all going into today s Congo even

Leopold leaving the land in complete drought of all resources, he also left behind many life
threatening diseases that spread during the massacre of enslaving the original settlers. The Congo
during Leopold s time was stripped of any benefits that could have been used in the long run. In
today s Congo, there is not health care available to those that reside there and that alone should tell

Blood splatter can verify the position of the people involved in the crime, as well as give clues on
how people were injured or died. Mainly, blood splatter eliminates many possibilities. It can show
injuries the victim had, what happened as they were dying, and the angle the crime happened at

25. Male Aged Four Years ( 48 Months )
Introduction
The subject of this case study is a male aged four years (48 months). The setting is a voluntary
aided faith nursery which follows a religious syllabus. It has children from a specific Islamic
background. Within the nursery each child is assigned a key worker, who works with the child on
a one to one basis and performs in partnership with parents or/carers to assist their child s learning
and development. There are about 17 children to 6 adults. Child A (as he will be known) has no
special educational needs, is an only child and English is his original dialect.

Consequently child A, through the scaffolding cycle, would be able to utilise his fine motor skills
to do his zip up himself. Hence, child A s skills are developing through the process of scaffolding,
as he will retain this information.
Intellectual
There was a specific observation of mention when Child A was in the computer corner playing a
water themed counting game. When estimating the number of objects on the screen, he used his
fingers to count the sea animals, 1, 2,3,4,5, 6 animals and looked at me for confirmation asking, is
it 6? . This shows that Child A is developing within the usual ranges of development, Estimates how
many objects they can see and checks by counting them , (Development Matters in the EYFS, 2012,
p.34).
Piaget believes children learn best by doing and that they must be additionally active in their own
understanding. He also believes that knowledge must be assembled and reassembled by the child.
Subsequently Child A, within the stages of schema, would experience a new notion of dealing with
numbers. The existing schema does not work as child A has no prior knowledge on counting sea
animals. Thus disequilibrium arises until Child A is able to assimilate and accommodate the
contemporary knowledge and attain equilibrium. Hence, Child A uses his fingers to count aloud
and signify each finger with a specific number. For future recommendation, I would have Child A

26. Summary Of Housekeeping And The Hobbit
The use of narrative can guide a reader in the direction that the author wishes, be it emotionally or
otherwise. However, this must be done correctly for an author must keep their intended audience
engaged enough to listen to not only the story, but the message that is implied throughout it. The
choice over first person and third person (as there is not many works that successfully use second
personnarratives) is essential based on the type of narrative the author intends to tell. In addition,
the type of conflicts that arise in a novel or short story and how they are portrayed is equally
important, but more than that is if they served any kind of meaningful purpose. Although the stories
of Housekeeping and The Hobbitare written for different audiences as well as from different
perspectives, they have similarities one may not expect unless they aware how to closely read both
the novels.
The first person perspective gives one an in depth access to the thoughts of the narrator, be this the
author themself in some cases or an integral character. Ruth is the the narrator of Housekeeping ,
recounting her youth in Fingerbone and how her life there has affected the life she leads now. The
use of first person in this novel aids to the understanding of Ruth, where we might not be able to
from the outside due eccentric nature of the people she is surrounded with and becomes attached to.

the representations from different parts of the world. More than half of the population are Asians
coming from different countries such as India, China, Vietnam, and Japan. Of those most common
is the Chinese. Therefore, for this discussion, I m focusing on the views and cultural response of
Chinese population to male circumcision. Morris et al (2016) conducted a study to estimate the
prevalence of male circumcision in different countries as well as world wide. According to this
study, the global prevalence of circumcision is about 38.65%, and that of China, with the world s
largest population is around 14%. The percentage of circumcised males in the United States is
71.2%. It was found that cultural and religious factors played a major role in male circumcision
than the awareness of health benefits. Most circumcisions in different countries, especially in
Muslims, Jews, North Americans, and tribal Africans, are performed for social, cultural and
religious reasons. It is estimated that 68% of the circumcised men are Muslims, making them the
largest religious group to practice male circumcision. In China, circumcision is not a part of their
culture and they consider routine male circumcision as a foreign topic as it conflicts with their
cultural and social norms. Male circumcision is

29. Similarities Between Catt And Susan B Anthony
Woodrow Wilson, Carrie Chapman Catt, and Susan B. Anthony share a common purpose in their
addresses advocating women s suffrage.Wilson s Address to the Senate on the Nineteenth
Amendment expresses the opinion he holds about the lack of control over women being able to
vote; he prioritizes the use of logos to create an argument consisting of present fact and his own
belief of how the rest of the world will see them as a nation if they do not ratify the Nineteenth
Amendment. Catt s The Crisis analyzes her present issue of the acknowledgement of women s
suffrage. Catt explains that through the acknowledgement of women s suffrage, women have been
given more freedom, yet not the same equality as men. Catt wants more than just exceptions to
social rules, she wants people to understand that a woman is not only an imperative cog in the
societal machine, but equality should never be a crisis again. Susan B. Anthonywastes no time
getting to the point in On Women s Right to Vote; she instantly begins her speech with a strong
denial of allegations thrown her way and moves right in to speak about the government basing a
law off the sex of a person and how the government is not treated as a democracy. Through each of
these addresses Wilson, Catt, and Anthony are divided by their point of view and united by their
cause, yet only Carrie Chapman Catts address holds the most effective reasoning.

In life it is necessary to have fantasy, because without it, life would be dull and meaningless.
Life would be so different without dreams, since they are what motivate humans to keep on
moving forward in order to achieve their goals. This is what Jorge Luis Borges is trying to
explain to the reader in the book Ficciones which is very confusing, but also very deep in
meaning. These stories demonstrate a theme of reality vs. fiction which is fascinating because in
many of the readings fantasy is required at some point to accomplish a purpose or goal. Each
unique story hides a meaning in the text which is a lesson to be learned. The confusion that is

Reality becomes so insignificant to even remember. Hladik, protagonist of The Secrete Miracle, is
a man bound to be persecuted on account of his ethnicity and political ideals. Similar to the United

Once the reader understands that the protagonists is human, and suffers, cries, laughs, hungers,

33. Lord Of The Flies Ego Superego Analysis
In every human being, a constant battle is occurring between two very diverse consciences.
William Golding portrayed this battle through his novel, Lord of the Flies, and with Sigmund
Freud s psychoanalysis theories of ID, Ego, and Superego. ID usually delineates the avarice and
guile side of the soul. Superego, however, represents the euphonious and benign voice of the soul.
The Ego is a balance of the two and is gullible to the forces of both voices. Golding uses these three
forces to show that without the pureness of the conscience, human spiritis innately evil and
corruptible. Thus, Golding uses Freud s ID, Ego, and Superego to demonstrate the overall theme of
the flexibility of the human spirit towards evil through Jack s recklessness, Ralph s senseof balance,
and Simon s cherubic attitude.
The character of Jack symbolizes the ID side of the soul because of his recklessness through his
obsession with hunting and fun on the island. His obsession started when he felt the power from
killing his first pig, He noticed blood on his hands and grimaced distastefully, looked for
something on which to clean them, then wiped them on his shorts and laughed ... We ll go
hunting every day (Golding 69/70). This quote shows that when the ID receives power, it will
take full advantage of it and will enjoy it, just like Jack did when he saw the blood from the pig.
This quote also shows that how the ID treats everything as a game and something to laugh at, which
is exactly what Jack

for the narrator must have analysed it many a time in order to find the moment in which it all

Whilst Joe runs towards the danger, he hears the shout again, followed by a child s cry,
enfeebled by the wind . Now that a child has been involved in this danger, it becomes all the
more grave, for nothing provokes more feeling then the possibility of a child perishing. This in

are still unaware as to what this danger is exactly. As our hero races towards it, we are treated to
a rather mathematical description of what is happening around him through the viewpoint of a

35. Sense Of Sublimity In Alfred Hitchcock s The Birds
Popular phrases such as Well, that s beyond me . . . What racks my brain is . . . or I can t wrap my
head around that are simple contemporary idioms inadvertently attempting to communicate a sense
of confusion, wonder, and admiration, though not without a touch of fear (Janowitz). Words
perhaps not commonly used to describe Alfred Hitchcocks classic which is nearing its fifty fifth
birthday. Yet, the campy, middle aged, prototypal film remains unsettling, frightening, and
substantially sublime. Therefore, what exactly cements this film in infamy? What makes its
presence essential to the libraries of eco critic s far and wide? Well, The Birdsutilizes Hitchcock s
crafty use of common cinematic techniques to conjure a sustaining sense of sublimity; the bird s
infiniteness, their bouts of terrorism, and their symbolism illustrates several character s conflicts
and loss of power permeating throughout the film with climatic moments illuminated by his many
artful methods.
For instance, Hitchcock initially builds a sense of sublimity by accumulating birds in a way that
represent the incomprehensibility and infiniteness of nature a characteristic of a sublimity. His
attempt to illustrate infinity fills the mind with a sort of delightful horror (Burke). The choice to
reiterate the very concept is shown in the first setting in which the movie takes place: San
Francisco. A place crowded with people, architecture, and a general absence of nature only shown
to be caged or encircling the citizens below. The birds are suspiciously swarming the sky and only
one citizens take notice the main character, Melanie. She is particularly caught by the commotion
in the sky pausing to ponder their existence, only briefly, and then finally entering the bird shop.
This minor event is important to the foreshadowing of dramatic action and the explanation of the
bird s existence. Nonetheless, a better more riveting technique is explored later in the film.
Hitchcock s ability to accumulate suspense not only throughout his film but in compressed context,
too, is impressive. The famous scene where Melanie is waiting for Mitch s sister to be released
from school exemplifies his ability. The dramatic irony of the scene is the

36. Employee Motivation And Motivation Theory
Employees are valuable resources for companies and them could be competitive advantages for
modern companies. It is important for modern companies to improve employee satisfaction and
performance so that they can improve their organisational performance and competitiveness
(Armstrong, 2006). As a result, Employee s motivationmanagement is significantly for companies.
Motivation is a cognitive process to guide, initiate, direct and maintain goal oriented activities. It
can also be defined as the driving forces directing people s actions (Huczynski and Buchanan, 2013).
Employees making contribution for firms because they are motivated by something, such as
successful companies can always identify the factors motivating their employees and conduct
responsive practices to motivate employees to improve performance (Podmoroff, 2005).
Diversity motivation theories explained what motivate people at work, such as extrinsic and
intrinsic motivation theory, Maslow s need hierarchy theory, Herzberg s two factor theory, equity
theory, expectancy theory, goal setting theory, and inner work life theory, etc (Huczynski and
Buchanan, 2013). People try to explain the motivation concept from the different point of views.
These perspectives can be divided into two types. One is content theories, which focus on goals
and needs of human beings, and the other is process theories which focus on the cognitive and
decision making process in the mind of people. Every theory has made some contribution

be able to play the clarinet includes assembling it.
The first thing to do when assembling a clarinet is to grease the corks. This is done with cork

39. Benefits Of Multi Method And Longitudinal Methods
5.4Limitations
There are some potential limitations of this study. Firstly, given the qualitative approach was used
in the research, the data was based on the interviewees and observer s subjective social construction.
It helps to understand interviewees experience in specific situation, however, it needs caution when
interpreting the findings and generalizing findings. Observations were employed at the beginning
of data collection. Because of limited time and quantity, it is treated as supplementation of
interviews and provides limited information. Semi structure interviews as major data collection
method rely heavily on the interviewees memory and stories happened at some point before. It
would benefit future study if multi method and longitudinal methods are used.
Secondly, the investigation was based on data from small sample. Eight participants are from the
same university and all of them are postgraduate students. Therefore, the size and the variety of
sample may limit the possibility of generalization.
Thirdly, the traits and behaviours the findings mentioned do not constitute exhausted list.
Demographics and other external elements were less or not discussed. However, it is difficult to
avoid this limitation. An additional quantitative method could be used in future for providing
supplementary insights of larger variables of elements.
Last but not least, as a novice, research may loss some useful information due to unsophisticated

42. How Dmitri Shostakovich Adhere From The Conventions And...
In this essay I will be discussing the extent that Dmitri Shostakovich adhered to and rebelled from
the conventions and traditions that were normalized in classical music and I will offer varied
examples of the many times Shostakovich has obeyed and dissented within music throughout his
career. The career span of Shostakovich extends from 1926 when he presented his first major work,
SymphonyNo.1 to 1970 when he presented Quartet No. 7.
Born Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich on the 25th September, 1906, in St. Petersburg, Russia,
the composer began his descent into classical music at the age of 9, before later moving on to
study at the Petrograd conservatory. Throughout his life he compiled 15 symphonies, 15 string
quartets and 36 film scores as well as many other compositions. Within his musical work and the
course of his career Shostakovich managed to both adhere to traditions set within classical music as
well as dissent from them, I will be exploring these.
I would first like to address what traditions are associated with classical music to highlight how
Shostakovich dissented from these.

will also discuss and evaluate the implications of its most recent remuneration scheme changes
since 2011. Due to increased competition and dismal record of profitability of the auto industry in
1993, top management at Volkswagen had been adopting the shareholder value principles as the
new style of corporate governance. In achieving the financial and profitability goals set by
management, series of steps were taken to increase motivation and facilitate the... Show more

The first stock option plan was also introduced in 1999. Its main feature is that it is also open to
ordinary blue and white collar employees. Subscription limitation was divided according to three
groups: 1. wage and salary earners subject to collective agreements, 2. salary earners and
management not subject to collective agreements below top management, 3. top management.
Employees of the first group can subscribe for ten options, the second for 100 options, and the
third for 1,000 options. Each option gives the right to buy 10 shares. The subscription of stock
options assumed that the employee also subscribed for time asset papers. For each option
employee had to have 100 DM on his time asset paper account. Thus the time asset scheme was
supported and facilitated by means of the share option plan.
For tax reasons the time asset paper is in particular advantageous for managers. They are made
more attractive by linkage to the stock option schemes. The time asset scheme can thus also help to
solve problems of retaining personnel.
Nevertheless, tying bonuses to performances requires a detailed area specific planning and a
controlling system which did not exist except for a few pilot areas within the company. There are
also no specific performance oriented guidelines for personnel appraisal systems. It is the decision
of management in the different business areas to use individual goal

46. Comparing Pandora s Box And The Flying Dutchman
Stories Explained
Introduction
Myths, fairy tales, folk tales, legends and fables we all grew up hearing various wonderfully
descriptive stories from each of the above listed categories. We might not have known that there
are different categories for the stories we heard, maybe you thought, just like me, that a story was
just a story: something to entertain and captivate you on a rainy day or a trigger to ensure vastly
creative dreams as it is read moments before you fall asleep. Each of the stories that you have heard
belongs to a specific category.
Myths and legends are both based on historical events, but neither of them is true since the events
went undocumented and no proof was found to substantiate the claims. In a myth the story ... Show

Curiosity is a trait that must be tamed otherwise it might lead to your downfall, is Pandora s Box
s main theme. Zeus lied to Pandora when he told her that she may not open it the box, this later
piqued her curiosity about the box. These two themes go well together because so often, when we
hear people tell lies, we become curious.
The conclusion
Every story had a different theme, setting, storyline and characters. But even though these stories
were completely different, it was still possible to find similarities between them. The differences
between them are what make them special and wonderfully unique.
Stories are such a valuable instrument to teach children important life lessons and morals. It is a
way to connect with them at their level so that they can process and understand what you are
trying to say. Even if they only subconsciously catch the underlining lesson you weaved into the
story, it is still there and the child will always use that story as reference. Stories stay with us forever

47. The Problem with Presidential Primaries
The Problem with Presidential Primaries
Ever since the election season of 1972, presidential primaries have become the dominant means of
selecting the two major party candidates. i[i] The primary system is one in which the eligible
voters of each state do one of the following: 1) Vote for a presidential candidateto run for their
party in the general election. 2) Vote for a delegate pledged to vote for a certain candidate at the
party s national convention. As intended, this process would bring the candidate selection processes
out into the open and let the people vote for the candidate of their choice. ii[ii] On the surface, this
may look very democratic (and admittedly, in some instances it was/is), but upon closer ... Show

Standing in his way was the fact that only one of the early primary states had a true open primary
Michigan. Both New Hampshire and South Carolina were considered modified open primaries
iii[iii] that tended to discourage Independent voting. In addition, Delaware and Arizona were closed
primaries that would not allow Independents or Democrats to vote. However, despite the closed
primary, McCain s home state of Arizona was essentially a lock.
Due to heavy campaigning, McCain was able to win New Hampshire by a 48% to 30% iv[iv]
margin. George W. Bush emphatically won the closed Delaware primary by a 51% to 25% v[v]
margin. Bush then went on to win in South Carolina s modified open primary by a 53% to 42%
vi[vi] margin, thus robbing McCain s hopes of gaining momentum. Despite this, McCain did get
back on the winning track with wins in Michigan s open primary and in Arizona s closed primary.
Victories aside, McCain was still going against the mainstream Republicans who were backing
Bush. The structure of the primaries early in the season allowed McCain to make a name for
himself, but the fact that closed primaries worked and would continue to work against him made
winning the nomination extremely difficult.

48. The Beginning Of The Humanities Sequence
Since the beginning of the Humanities sequence, numerous themes have been expressed through
various pieces of art and literature. A few of these themes have been so prevalent that they have
flourished throughout the entire sequence of humanities classes. One of the major themes in
particular is the idea of truth and where people have found truth in society. Some believe that truth
comes from religionand higher powers, while others believe that knowing as many angles of a
certain idea gains knowledge and achieves truth. Over history, truth has developed from an
absolute truth to a scientific and existential truth. During the pre modern world sequence, it was
apparent that truth was validated by the use of religion and top members of society. This was
shown through the work Hymn to the Aten. Egyptian people followed the Aten since he gave
them a sense of purpose. At the time in history, religion was a major focus point in society and
their lives. That pharaoh that is depicted in the picture was seen as the shining spirit of Aten. The
pharaoh gained his knowledge through God which he then passed to his people. The Egyptians
agreed on the fact that Aten provided truth since it was directly to the pharaoh through God.
However, the weakness in this was that everyone believed the pharaoh to be true, which allowed
the pharaoh to have absolute power over his people. A second piece of work during this time period
was the work created by Plato called Allegory of the Cave. In this

49. The Importance Of Censorship In Hollywood Movies
Prior to the current Hollywood rating system, in which the responsibility of determining what
the viewer should see is left in the hands of the viewer (with the exception of R rated movies),
Hollywood studios used self censorship to control insure what they were showing audiences
was appropriate. The way that Hollywood studios were able to do this was through the
enforcement of the Movie Picture Production Code (MPPC). The push for regulation of the
motion picture industry picked up steam in the 1920 s. The coming of sound allowed for films
to be much more realistic and obscene than silent films. In an effort to sell tickets and pique the
public interest, movie studios began to make sexualized, profane, and violent movies. The late 20
s birthed stars like Mae West, whose character almost solely on sexual quips and innuendo. In
response to these films, Daniel Lord, a Jesuit priest, submitted a production code to the studios, in
1929. Much like the public is concerned currently with the effects that violent video games can
have on adolescents and society in general, Lord was particularly concerned with the moral
degradation the movies could have on society. Consequently, he created a code that likely only a G
rated modern movie would pass now. However, fearing the economic consequences that a catholic
boycott or governmental ban would have on Hollywood profits, the Motion Picture Production and
Distributors Association of America (MPPDA), which was made up of the biggest
