trying to convert them to Mormonism. Also people started talking about how the
Mormons apparently were freeing slaves. This caused public outburst and the
Governor stated that the Mormons must be, Exterminated or driven form the state if
necessary for the public good . Again the Mormons were driven out of another state.
In Nauvoo, Illinois things were looking up for the Mormons and by 1844 they had
built one of the largest cities in Illinois. Missionaries were sent to Europe to gain
converts. Over 35,000 people joined the Mormons in Nauvoo from Europe.
However Joseph Smith made a statement that was to start his downfall. In 1844 he
declared that only certain Mormons could practise Polygamy. His own people turned
against him and had him imprisoned, declaring him a false prophet. Also non
Mormons were outraged at this knew knowledge that they practised polygamy and
matters were made worse when Joseph Smith declared he was running for President.
On 27 June 1845 a mob attacked the jail where Joseph Smith was and shot him dead.

INTRODUCTION
This paper is aimed at presenting a complete picture of the regulation on NRI
Marriages in India and the issues that have risen up with the increase in the number of
such marriages with time.
These have gained a significant role as many Indians have settled abroad and have
resorted to legal remedies as an answer to their marital problems. It is necessary to
understand the nature of NRI marriages and address its issues in the legal context so
as to raise awareness amongst those affected and further establish better and more
models of rules and regulations.
In the context of NRI Marriages, the individual state practices differ from one
another in view of differing needs and necessities. The matrimonial remedies in the
developed world do not reflect on the same lines as in India.
The major issues are validity of marriage and matrimonial causes, including
recognition and enforcement of foreign divorce decrees in India. The Indian state

In any society, governmental entities enact laws, make policies, and allocate
resources. Public policy can be generally defined as a law systems, strict measures,
courses of action, and funding issues that about a given topic promulgated by a
governmental entity or its representatives. Abortion is one issue that has been a
matter of subject in government and citizens concerning its public policy. Over years
the government has made decisions concerning the policy towards abortions in the
United States of America. Abortionplays a major role in public policy on the issue of
whether or not it is a public decision or a woman s own private decision. In certain
views of citizens in the United States, abortion is not seen as an issue that should
be banned by governmental laws. They believe that it is a private decision that
should be made by a woman and her medical doctor. John M. Swomley, a Ph.D.
graduate in political science, saw that abortion per se is not morally wrong
(Swomley). He thought that this was a personal matter that should be decided by
oneself or a medical examiner. The alternate to private decision is compulsory
pregnancyif the government makes laws prohibiting or restricting abortions prior to
the third trimester, according to John Swomley. Many cases and groups have
