2. Speech About Coconut
Coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) is one of the main crops which is abundantly produced
in the Philippines. Coconut can be served as food and can be produced to various
products and by products. Some food examples are copra, coconut oil, coconut milk,
latik, desiccated coconut, coconut flour, etc. As compared to other agricultural crops,
coconutprovides more products and by products since all of its parts starting from the
tree itself to the fruits has its uses. Hence, many people especially in Southeast Asia,
Pacific region, Africa and some countries in Latin America, considered coconut as a
significant crop in agriculture and industries (The Coconut Industry, n.d.). Since
supply of coconut is very essential to many countries, it is essential to monitor its
production. The production per land area can be quantified through crop yield.
Crop yield is used to determine the efficiency of food production. Basically, it is the
amount of produced crop per area of land. Moreover, it is sometimes called as
agricultural output and conveyed in kilograms/hectare or metric tons/hectare.
Essentially, the use of evaluating the crop yield is to determine the ... Show more

Philippines is the coconut which is abundantly grown in almost all the areas in the
country. The area planted/harvested in 2015 is about 3.5 million hectares based on
PSA. According to Dillinger (2017), Philippines ranked as the second largest
producer of coconut in the world. Every region has plantations of coconut and one of
the areas with large production of coconut is Region IV A with 448,905 ha for

3. Coal Mining As Environmental Health Issue
There is a common bond throughout Kentucky that stretches from western to eastern
state lines that unites many Kentuckians. This common thread is coal mining.
Window decals proudly proclaiming Coal miner s daughter , friend of coal license
plates, and yard signs declaring Coal keeps the lights on are only a fraction of the coal
mining propaganda frequently seen throughout my community. There is an allure to
being a coal miner not only because it is a high paying job that does not require a
college degree, but also because being a coal miner evokes a sense of pride within
people. However due to the occupational hazards and coal s impact on the
environment, coal miningalso poses as a very real environmental health issue for not
only my community in western Kentucky but the entire state as well. This research
paper aims to describe coal mining as environmental health issue, explain the
potential health risks of working in and living near coal mines, identifying regulations
and laws concerning the issue, describe the industry s response to this issue, describe
my community s response to this issue, and identify needs and nursing interventions
required for affected aggregates.
COAL MINING AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ISSUE:
Coal mining is a relevant and current environmental health issue for not only my
community or state, but the entire United States as well. Emissions from burning
coal, water pollution related to mining coal, and coal ash, a byproduct from coal
4. Reasons Why The National Anthem Should Be Banned
This protest all started when one man said these words. I m not going to stand up
to show pride in a flag for a country that appressed black people and people of
color...To me ,this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to
look the other way.(Calin Kaepernick). This protest is caused uproar among the
people and the football players. Here are three simple reasons why it s wrong, and
should be stopped. One reason why is that by refusing to stand for the national
anthem shows disrespect for the flag and members of the armed forces. Also some
reasons the national anthem is so important is because it pays respectto the people
that risk their lives, and to the people that fight for what they think is right. The
second reason is not standing for the national anthem is an ineffective and
counterproductive way to promote a cause. All this does is cause people to get
mad this is not helping any cause what so ever just as just as Clemson university
said in a press conference saying I don t think it s good to be a distraction to your
team and also he doesn t think it s a good thing to use your team as a platform. The
third and final reason is refusing to stand for the national anthem angers many and
sows division in our country. This is just a waste of time and should be stopped.
The way this protest is changing the game of football is. By them protesting the way
they are the ratings have went downhill but the protest have not yet stopped or even
came close
5. Benefits Of A Wireless Technology
Choosing a wireless technology to transmit very small amounts of data from A to B
should be very simple in todays world, but in reality making sense of the wireless
connectivity technology landscape for the Internet of Things is the opposite of
simple and obvious it is a complex landscape and its getting more complex as time
goes by.
In the short range corner we have some familiar LAN and PAN technologies such as
Bluetooth, Ble, Wi Fi and even Zigbee. Local area network technology will find IoT
applications in the home and office where range is not a priority, if someone finds a
way to remove complexity from the process of setting the IoT devices or else we

So far we have enjoyed LTE M, LTE MTC, Cat 1, Cat 0, Cat M, Release 12, Release
13, CIoT, Extended Coverage IoT and NB IoT and the milestone date in our diary has
slipped March 2016. So what can we expect then?
NB IoT could be the long term goal, but we don t know for sure. What we have until
that arrives is Cat 1. In between, Cat 0 will be skipped outright, and we will also have
Cat M as a stepping stone.
The difference between Cat M / NB IoT and Cat 1 is in the power consumption and
cost. Nevertheless Cat 1 is not where it needs to be. It is the interim solution until
we get to Cat M / NB IoT. When will these actually arrive? Cat M is scheduled to be
commercially available in 2017, while NB IoT is announced for 2018.
Ultimately it won t be a single race of course, and there won t be a single winner.
NB IoT or whatever it is called when it finally arrives will undoubtedly play a very
significant part of the IoT landscape but not yet and then only for use cases where
there is a good fit.Applications where the value of the individual data streams are
relatively high and where energy consumption is not so critical are a natural fit. The
reality of required backward compatibility with a complex legacy (LTE) technology
is that no amount of optimisation will be competitive with a true clean slate .
The simplistic view from a decade ago is not even close to reality today and the

6. Environmental Impact Of Environmentalism
As people grew more environmentally conscious conflict about the protection of the
environment and its ecosystem arose, so environmentalists and organizations such
as the Department of Interior s U.S Fish and Wildlife Service fought for greater
protection of endangered species and the Endangered Species Act of 1973 was
passed. However, the passing of this act caused a greater conflict as its economic
role was not clear, and some argued that it would become an economic burden.
Starting in the 1970s, people of the United States began to fight for the protection of
all living things and their habitats, as they saw the damage that the rapidly growing
economy was having on the environment. This is shown through various events and
acts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ESA provided the establishment of state programs, and the conservation of
ecosystems upon which threatened and endangered species of fish, wildlife, and
plants depend (Digest of Federal Resource Laws). To conserve the ecosystem, the
ESA first listed the species they decided were endangered, and then they enforced
the prohibition of the taking, selling, and transportation of those endangered
species (Digest of Federal Resource Laws). However, not everything about the
Endangered Species Act of 1973 was clear as boundaries of how far the act could
go economically to protect the endangered species were not defined. In fact, it did
not have much of a boundary when it came to the economic cost of achieving its
purpose, and this would later become a huge problem because it would cause a
greater divide between those who supported the act and those who did not. This
divide would cause conflict about the protection of endangered species once again.
Even though in its future years the Endangered Species Act of 1973 would have to
be revised, when it first came out it was a great solution to the environmental
problem at hand. It helped preserve the ecosystem by providing the necessary
resources required to create a safe environment for species in need. (INSERT

7. Literary Analysis Of Mending Wall By Robert Frost
Analysis of Mending Wall by Robert Frost
Robert Frost is describing a process in Mending Wall , which is repairing a wall
that separates his territory and his neighbor s. The wall was deteriorated during the
winter, when the cold frost created cracks and gaps in the wall. He uses a nearly
infantile imagination to unravel the mystery of the damage that appeared suddenly in
spring. While they are tediously laboring to reconstruct the fence, Frost is imploring
his neighbor about the use of the wall; his apple trees can be clearly distinguished
from his neighbor s pine trees. Yet underneath this quotidian routine, Frost goes
beyond the surface to reveal its figurative meaning.
The poem renders an apparent question: Why do people build unnecessary ... Show

For example, he indicates that the practice of mending the barrier is futile, when he
states the metaphor, Oh, just another kind of outdoor game...it comes to little more.
Another metaphor he used is Spring is the mischief in me. Mischief here does not
refer to anything relative to evil, but to friskiness that attempts to put a notion in his
head. Yet this attempt is in unavailing, and the neighbor continues to repair the wall,
and in the simile, Like an old stone savage armed , Frost attests that his neighbor
has the stride and stubborn ignorance of a caveman. He also uses other devices such
as a pun, applied in the line, And to whom I was like to give offence. The last word
of the line simply emphasizes the importance of the subject, the fence. The most
prominent figure of speech, however, is the ironic, Good fences make good
neighbors. This is completely opposite of the connotation of the poem. Fences do not
make neighbors, but strangers that are apathetic towards each other. The neighbor
seems to prefer this approach, to eliminate any risks of trespassing or offenses. Yet
what the fence really does is hinder the development of friendship. This is comparable
to the barriers of bitterness, anger, hate, and fear men put between one another that
obstruct love and

important to me, and why I was crushed when the DJ made an announcement later
that day.
It came around 2:30 P.M.; we had been talking, dancing, and waiting together for 5
hours, and our bus still hadn t come. Anyone could tell how exhausted we were by
the looks on our faces. Just as I had convinced myself that our bus was next, a

11. Case Study Kyle s Vo2 Max
Discussion Questions:
1.Kyle performed a VO2 max test in which each stage lasted 2.5 minutes. He
achieved his highest VO2 during the 4th stage at time 8:10min. His highest VO2
(L/min) recorded was 2.627. Peak heart rate (162bpm) was during the time in
which he achieved his highest VO2 along with his highest VCO2 (3.457L/min) at
8:10min. The data collected showing 2.627L/min is Kyle s VO2 peak. VO2 max
is described as a maintenance or slight decline of VO2 with an increase in exercise
intensity. Since Kyle did not have an opportunity to increase intensity, in the form of
Watts, we could not determine if his peak VO2 was a true VO2 max. His
termination of the test was mostly likely due to peripheral fatigue by a cause of

The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends the use of 40%,
60%, 80%, and 85% of maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max) as target values in
developing exercise prescriptions. Further, the ACSM states that 55%, 70%, 85%, and
90% of maximal heart rate (HRmax) may be used as indices of these respective
levels of % VO2max for the general population. The current study evaluated this
relationship between %HRmax and %VO2max in apparently healthy, young
adults. Eighty one men and 81 women between the ages of 18 and 34 engaged in
an incremental exercise test to exhaustion. Linear regressions of %HRmax and
%VO2max were performed on each subject. From these regressions, target values
of %HRmax were computed for each individual. Mean percentages of HRmax
were 63%, 76%, 89%, and 92% at 40%, 60%, 80%, and 85% of VO2max,
respectively. At all of these values of %VO2max, the values obtained for %HRmax
were significantly greater (P 0.001) than those used by the ACSM. Fitness affected
these results, particularly among men. High fit men averaged 2% higher in
%HRmax than low fit men at any given value of %VO2max (Swain et al., 1994).
Swain et al., (1994) relates to this laboratory because it shows the relationship
between heart rate and VO2 max. It allowed me to further my knowledge about
how we use VO2 max to predict heart rate. We then can set a target rate based on the
data received from a VO2 max test. (Swain et al.,

The justice system, a system in which we as a society use and believe in, to
hopefully help filter out the good people from the bad. Putting the bad people, the

society in which we only wish for peace and harmony. The justice system has
existed for centuries, it was created to help distinguish the difference between a
good person and a bad person, and hopefully punish the bad person so they can learn
their lesson, but over thousands over years this so called justice system has fell apart

How is he a criminal when he did no harm? Why is an innocent man being
punished and put to death for having a belief? He didn t rape anyone, he did not

have too many cracks in its wall for the innocent to fall through and become
considered the guilty. The justice system was created to keep the innocent from
being considered the bad and to help prove that one is innocent until proven guilty,
but Socrates is proven guilty because the Men of Athens persuade the people to
believe that you are not allowed to have other beliefs when it comes to the Gods.
The only idea that truly bothers me about Socrates is the fact that he claims he is
innocent, he tried so hard to prove himself in that courtroom that he knows a lot
more than people think. Why is it when Crito comes to help Socrates escape stating
that everyone and their mothers know Socrates is innocent, why does Socrates
believe he deserves to be there? Why does he not want to escape the prison instead of
being put to death, when he has the chance to escape. He believes that the Gods did
this to him and this is what they would have wanted for him. But the question on the
other hand is; yes, maybe the Gods did want Socrates in this position, maybe it was
signs from God that he was to be put to death, but the question is, how does he not
know that the Gods sent him

beginning of the 14th century to the end of the 16th century. And florence is the
birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
The artistic and economic changes that are associated with the Renaissance, first

The League of Nations repeatedly failed in keeping the peace because, first of all
Hitler went against the Treaty of Versailles and started World War 2 yet the League

Abyssinia went against the league and Manchuria also contributed towards the
failure to keep the peace. The structure of the league didnГ‚ t help as the council
only met once a year. The power of the league was very weak as there was no

League of Nations and invaded Abyssinia. In secret however Britain and France
agreed to give Abyssinia to Italy, the Hoare Laval Pact.
Manchuria became a factor or the failure of the League of Nations in 1932 when
the Japanese army invaded Manchuria and threw out the Chinese residents. They
then set up their own government called the Г‚ ManchoukuoГ‚ . When china asked
the League of Nations for help it sent a group of officials led by Lord Lytton to

Japan to leave Manchuria.

20. Lending a Helping Hand Essay
Lending a Helping Hand
There have always been organizations that provide help for the needy. Now the
economy is going through a downward spiral giving these institutions a greater
importance in helping the lives of those who need it. Miami County residents have
seen firsthand that some people who live in this area really need the help. The
statistical evidence shows that Miami County, Indiana is being affected by the
economy. The average salary of a resident in Peru, Indiana ends up being $28,487.
(Indiana) That number may not seem profound, but when you have a family to
support, the budget gets tight. The normal wage annually for a resident in the state of
Indiana is $45,434. (Indiana) That makes it roughly 38% more money than what

Yet, hunger only makes up for a small part of the complications that povertybrings.
Without enough money, how does someone suppose to afford to live in a house?
Though most Miami County residents do not see homeless people, does not hide
the fact we have people living without a home. Peru is not a big city like New
York, or Los Angeles, but no matter where you are at in America, there will always
be those who cannot afford to rent or own any type of housing.
Even if everyone could afford some type of housing to live in, it does not mean they
can afford all the necessary utilities. Air conditioning is not a necessity, but someone
might not have enough money to provide a fan. The cost for utilities such as
electricity for a fan to keep the cool in the summer heat, or simply having running
water might be a problem for someone with little to no income. With winter
approaching even some people will have to go without heat in the Miami County area.
Helping Hands is a Non Government and Non Profit organization in Miami

began to do research to determine if there was a need for a food pantry. He started
his research in 2000 and within two years determined there was definitely a need
for one. Helping Hands was founded in 2002 by Hershel. (Manhart) It is run by
volunteers from the area and provides many solutions to the dilemmas of poverty.

21. Selfishness Is Being Selfish
A person who does a good deed for the sake of one s gratification, a person who puts
personal obligations before others, and a person who lacks the value of human life,
is a person whose forehead is stamped with a single word: selfish. Selfishness may
present itself in times of danger, especially when the decision comes to saving
oneself or saving another along the way. Twenty first century society dictates that
when one is in a situation, such as being in a burning building, they are morally
obligated to do what is seen as right. As the fire engulfs the building from all sides,
deep red flames can be seen. The fire isn t only burning, but it s burning with such
intensity like the fearsome fire breathing mythological creature, Chimera. The
Chimera, a hybrid of a lion, goat, and snake, is viewed with fear or intrigue, similar
to selfishness itself, so this begs the question; is selfishness ultimately immoral, or
can it be ethical?
In Examined Life, philosopher Slavoj Zizek discusses the trait that most human
beings possess: being selfish. As the documentary begins, Zizek can be seen
scouring a junkyard, disclosing his philosophy on ecology. As stated by Zizek,
ecology addresses genuine problems that society is aware of but continues to turn a
blind eye. Furthermore, Zizek dives into the misconception that people continue to
make about waste and trash; people believe that waste and trash are one in the same,
however, waste disappears, but trash doesn t. While digging around

On July 1, 1946 the first atomic bomb test since the end of World War II occurred
over the island of Bikini Atoll. Lieutenant General Roy S. Geiger, United States
Marine Corps observed the test and recognized that atomic bombs could render
amphibious assaults useless due to the dense concentration of troops, ships, and
supplies at the beachheads. To reduce the possibility of nuclear bombs being used
to combat amphibious assaults, dispersion would be crucial; however, this would
lead to a slower consolidation of forces ashore. New ways to achieve dispersion
without sacrificing speed were studied and the helicopter was deemed the most
applicable to the future of amphibious operations. On December 1, 1947 Marine

1 was a modified version of the Sikorsky S 51and was used for utility and training
while the HRP 1 was used for trial and experimental purposes. Regrettably for
HMX 1, it was not until 1955 that it received its first Sikorsky HR2S which was a
helicopter capable of lifting heavy loads (by 1950s standards). The HR2S was
crucial to the amphibious doctrine because it had a greater lifting capacity than its
earlier predecessors. HMX 1 s secondary mission was to test observation
helicopters for identifying enemy movement and the use of gunfire. For this
mission, HMX 1 was given a small HTL 2 which is a small militarized version of
the Bell 47D. The Marine Corps hopped on the opportunity for this mission and
rapidly established an innovative reputation for its use of combat helicopters.
Helicopters were largely used only as medevacs in the Korean War. In the years
ensuing the Korean War, General Alexander Vandegrift, the 18th Commandant of the
Marine Corps summoned a board that became known as the Hogaboom Board. The
Hogaboom Board was named after Major General Robert E. Hogaboom who was

23. Pope On The Individual, Society, And Interconnectedness
ON THE INDIVIDUAL, SOCIETY, AND INTERCONNECTEDNESS. POPE: As
Aristotle said, From the moment they are born, the individual is an irreducibly social
and mutually dependent being allotted with both rights and duties. Humans display a
natural propensity to form and nourish an array of social relationships, and the idea of
atomized, competitive, mutually suspicious individuals forming agreements is
essentially impossible , to say the least. Today, this idea of interconnectedness is still
highlighted through an array of cultures. For instance, in Africa amongst the Buntu
people, the philosophy of Ubuntu translates to I am who I am because of who we all

What makes it so appealing though is the fact that it offers such a coherent, dynamic
and internally consistent framework that applies nine universally established
principles to such a broad spectrum of situations and circumstances. Human dignity is
regarded as the foundational pillar of the CST, and is predicated on the theological
notion that every human being is made in the image and likeness of God and so
therefore possesses innate personal value and rights which demand respect, regardless
of gender, race, social class, and so forth. However, when one person s dignity is
diminished, whether that be through inequality, oppression, and so forth, somehow
all humans are diminished. So, tantamount to Aristotelian theory, the dignity of an
individual can only be realised and protected in the context of the person s
relationships to others in the community. J.Y: How exactly do we embark on the path
to human dignity then Father? POPE FRANCIS: Through the second principle of
solidarity, which suggests a merciful connection amongst all human beings that
overcomes the separation of borders, class, language and faith . Solidarity is
synonymous with human nature and the Aristotelian view of the person being social
, as previously discussed, as it can be seen as a moral response to an interdependent
human society, mutual flourishing, and that we not concern ourselves solely with our
own individual lives. J.Y: Interesting and the third principle? POPE:

of the Healthcare Employees Benefits (HEB) Manitoba. I will explain the current
system in place and present how changes in work and technology may affect potential
future changes to the work systems. As well, the potential benefits and obstacles to
these changes will be explored. HEB Manitoba is the pension and benefit provider for
70,000 active and retired healthcare workers in Manitoba. It emerged from the
consolidation of three pension plans during two mergers in the mid 1990s. Since the
mergers, it has grown from 12 employees to more than 150 employees. It has a proto
typical hierarchal organization, with 1 senior executive, 5 executives, 25 managers
and approximately 120 employees. Some managers have no employees reporting to
them, but managers with direct reports average about eight employees each. The
departments divide according to job function, including finance, corporate services,
pensions and benefits, disability and information systems. The majority of the
departments split into further sub departments, with the largest department, the
pension and benefits department, consisting of 57 employees. Workflow generally
stays within one department, but can cross over between departments. Sub
departments typically focus on specific tasks, such as reviewing files for data
accuracy, preparing pension calculations, or administering the information network.

love with French Macarons. The crisp outer shell with a hearty layer of flavored

individuals can have different levels of cooking skills, learning to bake easy

PROCUREMENT OUTSOURCING BENEFITS FOR SMEs
Growing business organizations are constantly looking for ways to improve their
performance by decreasing operational costs and increasing revenue. Business
Process Outsourcing (BPO) is one of the strategies that can facilitate these goals. BPO
refers to outsourcing of business processes to external agencies, with the goal of
relieving the company of non business critical tasks, while concentrating on its core
business.
Procurement is one of the most overlooked candidates for BPO. Procurement

The study concluded that companies with implemented PO strategy had on average
8.3% savings in operational and strategic procurement, and 30% lower costs to
process requisitions than companies that did procurement in house.
Another advantage that comes from PO is contract compliance and contract savings.
The same study estimated a 55% contract compliance rates in the companies with
outsourced procurement function. PO agencies can do much more than just help to
set right frameworks they can ensure contract savings. With right contract terms and
monitoring in place, money can be saved in areas like order management, supply
schedule, indirect spend management and much more.
There is also a matter of fraud. Managing small expenses provided by a multitude of
vendors can be challenging, especially if scaling up. Poorly managed expenses, even
small once, leaves space for errors and even intentional mischarges, which over time
can result in considerable expenditures. By outsourcing contract and spend
management tasks to a third party, organizations immediately reduce the possibility
of such errors and fraud happening in their purchasing
30. Digital Image Analysis Of Eye Fundus Images
ABSTRACT: Digital image analysis of eye fundus images has several benefits than
current observer based techniques. The characteristic symptoms of different systemic
diseases like hypertension, glaucoma, diabetes and cardiovascular disorder etc.
affects retinal vessels. Diseases like diabetes show abnormalities and diameter
changes in retinal bloodvessels. In hypertension retinal blood vessels show dilatation
and elongation of main arteries and veins. Arteriolar to venular diameter ratio (AVR)
express high blood pressure levels, diabetic retinopathy and retinopathy of
prematurity. Among other image processing operations the estimation of AVR
requires vessel segmentation, accurate vessel width measurement and arteryor vein
classification[1]. Hence the identification of arteries is essential to detect eye
diseases. The work has been done on automated classification of retinal vessels and
hence it is a challenging task. Nowadays for image analysis graph based methods
have been used which are useful for retinal vessel segmentation, retinal image
registration and retinal vessel classification[2]. The segmented vessels are analyzed
using type of intersection and then assigned artery or vein labels to each vessel
segment. So the combination of labels and intensity features decides final artery or
vein class.

The title Doe Season could be translated to the female time. Doe meaning female
and season meaning time. The female time is symbolic because it refers to Andy
and how it is almost the end of her innocence, or childhood, and the beginning of

woods. To Andy, the woods symbolize safety. Andy knows the woods and is
comfortable in the woods. When Andy is running in the woods from the dead doe
she start to hear the sounds of the ocean, this symbolizes her leaving her innocence,
and her comfort and going towards womanhood, the unknown that is the ocean.
The ocean reminds her of her mother when her top came off in the ocean and she

33. Argumentative Essay On Gifted Children
Arbitrary, too narrow in scope, and biased are just a few of the things that come up
when psychologists, teachers and parents discuss how to determine if children are
gifted and talented. In the United States, 6 to 10 percent of school age children are
labeled gifted and are placed into classes that cater to their advanced abilities
(National Association of Gifted Children, 2014). School age children, in some
states, can be as young as four years old. A lot of the controversy starts right there:
how can four year olds be expected to take a challenging IQ assessment and then
have their score on that test determine their classroom placement for the next 13
years? Lewis Terman, an American psychologist and professor at Stanford
University, was a pioneer in the understanding of gifted children and their place in the
American education system. He was majorly influenced by Alfred Binet and
eventually revised the Binet Stanford scale so that it could be used in the United
States, where it is now known as the Stanford Binet IntelligenceScale (Human
Intelligence, 2013). A major contribution of his was the definition of what makes a
child gifted. According to Terman, an Intelligence Quotient(IQ) of at least 130 marks
giftedness, he even believed that any child who scored a 132 or higher was a genius
(Steinberg, Bornstein, Vandell, Rook, 2011). To measure intelligence, he expanded
on William Sterns equation stating that IQ is a person s mental age and chronological
age

As a young boy, Clegg, the antagonist, grew up alone with no parents and no role

Miranda Gray, the protagonist. He needed a female figure to give his life meaning.
Fowles stated, It s just you re all I got that makes life worth living (Fowles 51).
Clegg felt such strong loneliness that he had the need to kidnap Miranda and have
her for the rest of his life, with no thoughts of letting her go. This incorporates
feminist literary theory, because during her captivity, Miranda had no means of
escape. Even after several attempts at escape, Clegg still proved to be superior and
would not let her go. In many pieces of literature, the kidnapper usually ends up
using their prisoners for personal needs, disregarding the needs of the hostage.
Clegg, on the other hand, did not want Miranda for sexual relations. He had a very
high standard of respect for Miranda and felt as though she was not like any other
women. Clegg notes, She was not like some other woman you don t respect so you
don t care what you do, you respected her and you had to be very careful (Fowles
39). This justifies the fact that Clegg did not want anything from Miranda, just her
company and for her to stay in his life. After stalking Miranda for two years, he
figured out her ways and personality she has an interest in
35. Child Labour During The Industrial Revolution Essay
Introduction:
In this video, we will be discussing child labour during the Industrial Revolution.
Although the Industrial Revolution improved Britain in many ways such as
transportation, agriculture, and production of goods, many factories had to hire
children to increase their income. We will also relate the history of child labour to the
use of child labour in the present day.
1. What is child labour and where did it originate?
Child labour is the employment of children for work. This deprives them the ability to
go to school and can seriously damage their health. Although there are many instances
of children working throughout history, widespread use of child labour by large
companies first appeared during the Industrial Revolution. Factory machines did not
require lots of adult strength to operate. Since children could be hired for less pay,
they became the main target for many factory owners.
2. A Timeline of Child Labour
(B.C.E) Children going to work for long hours can be traced back to B.C.E. There
was a county in Middle East where people are forced to get married at the age of 14.
The king will give a land to the young couple and they will farm on the land.

37. Debate On Abortion Debate
The Abortion Debate
It is a common belief that every women should have the right to a safe abortion, this
is included in that everyone has the right to the highest attainable standard of physical
and mental health, including access to all medical services. Access to safe abortion
and legalization of abortion can prevent unnecessary suffering and death of women.
To deny them this would to be completely ignoring one of the most important human
rights. The actions aforementioned in the previous paragraph also pose a breach in
this human right as well as a breach in Article 12 of the UDHR which grants a right
to freedom from any interference with both privacy and family. Many protesters of
abortion, such as those who deliberately seek out who they know that have had
abortions in order to harass them, are in a strong breach of this right and are also
breaking the law.
Abortion is the the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often
performed during the first 28 weeks. It is an ancient techniques that used to be
done in secret and was considered very taboo. As women s rights have progressed,
abortions have become safer and more accessible but people still didn t openly
share their abortion experiences. However, people have become more comfortable
talking about abortion in a general sense. Abortion is now one of the most openly
debated and controversial topics in our society. It is very difficult to get an abortion
in New Zealand and is illegal in many other countries

Abstract
No Child Left Behind promote some testing standards but it leaves out many others.
Teaching to the test is not effective because it affects the curriculum and classroom
instruction. Questions arise whether test score improvements show an increase in
learning. Issues that affect teaching to the test are the limited information as to what
students have actually learned on a specific topic and cheating with the lack of
accountability.
In today s society standardized testing is used in many public schools. According to
McMillan (2014), standardized tests are assessments that are administered and scored

41. Who Was Responsible For The Origins Of The Cold War
1.1 Historiography behind the origins of the Cold War
The Cold War was a period of tension and suspicion between the USA and USSR
that lasted from 1945 49 (Kent, 2004, pp. 51 57). This conflict had numerous
causes, even if the USA and USSR were allies during 1941 45, fighting against
Nazi Germany and Japan. (McAleavy, 2002, pp. 94 96) Various factors contributed
to the break up of this wartime alliance; US policies, Soviet actions, and other factors
such as the Russian Revolution of 1917, all crated a climate of tension and distrust,
which destroyed the links between the two superpowers, leading to the Cold War.
(Winkler, 2003, pp. 11 13)
There are three theories about the origins of the Cold War. The orthodox or
traditionalist interpretation, which suggests that the responsibility for the Cold War
was Soviet, and that the US was just forced to act against Soviet aggression. The
revisionist theory suggests that the responsible for the war were the US and that the ...

Besides, previously independent nations such as Poland and Czechoslovakia were
now communist. Moreover, the USSR was much more stronger due to the increase
in its empire, which lead to more population, therefore more resources, and so a
greater industrial base. In this way, it presented more of a threat to the USA since
the USSR was becoming much powerful than it was before the outbreak of the
Second World War, and although the USSR had helped the USA against Japan, these
Soviet actions led to tension and suspicion between the two nations. Therefore, the
soviet actions in Europe increased the tensions between them, leading to the break up
of the wartime alliance, and so creating the necessary conditions for the Cold

He estimated that based on the country s population at the time, a federal standing
army could not field more than 25,000 30,000 men. To these would be opposed a
militia amounting to near half a million of citizens with arms in their hands, officered
by men chosen from among themselves, fighting for their common liberties, and
united and conducted by governments possessing their affections and confidence.
Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people
of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the
people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier
against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple
government of any form can admit of. Notwithstanding the military establishments
in the several kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources

43. The Effects Of Sexual Assault On Campus Safety
Nationwide
Sexual Violence defined by the United States Center for Disease Control as
penetrative and non penetrative acts...[occurring] when a perpetrator commits sexual
acts without a victim s consent is an issue finding itself highly concentrated on
collegiate campuses nationwide (Basile et al. 1). Statistically speaking one in five
women, and a substantial number of men, [will experience] attempted or completed
sexual assault during their college career (OAESV 2). These numbers are utterly
horrific, and reflect the decreased safety campuses nationwide are experiencing.
Students enrolled in the higher educationsystem are increasingly being put in danger
of becoming victims, and victims live in constant fear and doubt of their safety on
campus. While the perpetrators of these crimes are ultimately to blame for the danger
they present, college and universitytendencies in sexual assault prevention and
response play a direct role in decreasing levels of campus safety nationwide. Though
the higher educationsystem has much room for improvement in many areas pertaining
to sex crimes, specific issues such as the weak relationship between campus crisis
centers and universities, increasing leniency in perpetrating student athletes, and the
overabundance of response rather than prevention programs on campus are a few
major patterns contributing to reduced campus safety. These dangerous patterns,
common among many universities and colleges, foster campus environments aiding

44. Meursault s Characters In The Stranger By Albert Camus
In the novel The Stranger by Albert Camus, Meursault is in situations which involve
the sun a lot. When Meursault is around the sun for too long he starts to feel as
though he s about to faint. After, that everything seemed to happen so fast, so
deliberately, so naturally that I don t remember any of it anymore ( Camus 17) at this
point Meursault has to endure the sunwhile walking through the village to get to the
church. Meursault feels like his head is pounding with blood. In this particular
situation he doesn t have to make an actual decision because he s just walking.
Throughout the novel Meursault had a lot to deal with, like talking to his neighbors
and having to listen to the horrible things his neighbors did like Raymond who beats
his girlfriend and Salamano who was old but also beat his dog. Meursault is put into
these situations where he has a chance to say something to both his neighbors but
none of it seems to bother him. When it comes to the sun Meursault lets the sun
change his emotions, he never talks about the weatherbeing too cold he can t handle
it. It s just the sun that seems to bother him the most and his mood changes all of
sudden as well All of it the sun, the smell of leather and horse dung from the
hearse, the smell of varnish and incense, and my fatigue after a night without sleep
was making it hard for me to see or think straight ( Camus 17) here Meursault is
already tired and then the sun shining down on him and all of this is making him
notice every little thing that is happening around him even the smells of certain
things and he s not thinking straight. The sun changed his whole view of his
surroundings , some people might feel a bit tired and hot but Meursault seems to
let the sun affect him strongly to the point where he d do anything to get away
from it. The sun affects Meursault s decision because during the killing of the Arab
It occurred to me that all I had to do was turn around and that would be the end of
it. But the whole beach, throbbing in the sun, was pressing on my back ( Camus 58)
we can see Meursault describing the sun in great details and he even said that he
could have just turned around and left but the sun seemed to control him and made

45. Compare And Contrast The Devil Wears Prada Book And
Movie
The job a million girls would die for: Novel vs. Movie
In 2006, David Frankel made a movie version of The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren
Weisberger. The book and the movie are both set in New York and tell the story of
a girl named Andy. In both versions Andy starts working for Miranda Priestly, editor
in chief of Runway, a fashion magazine. Generally the film version of The Devil
Wears Prada, what kind of experiences Andy passes through is similar to what
Andy experiences in Weisberger s novel. However, the movie is different form the
book because some characters have a different appeal and image, Andy s love life
might end up positive, and it ends in a different way.
One difference is the appeal and image of the characters. For example, in the book
Andy has blond hair and lives with her boyfriend named Alex Fineman. Later in the
story, Alex breaks up with Andy. In contrast, Andy has brown hair in the movie. Also
the boyfriend s name is Nate Cooper, instead of Alex Fineman. Another difference in
characters is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

storyline, Andy and her boyfriend each have their own lives at work. But they
share a few friends when they have time off. They see each other every week for
dinner. Also yellow cabs, nice looking people from New York are well represented in
both versions.
Another similarity, the main storyline, is that Andy gets to work for Runway in
which Miranda Priestly is editor in chief. Andy got accepted due to an interview
which was different form all other girls. Miranda gives it a shot. In both versions
Miranda was in the beginning very dissatisfied about Andy. There is also a similarity
in Miranda s way of communication. She refuses to share elevators with others and
dismisses everyone with a cold That s

The Effect of Heat on Enzyme Reaction:
The Effect of Heat, at Varying Temperatures, on the Viability of Biological Enzymes
in Pineapple.
Introduction:
Enzymes are worker molecules. They are globular proteins that act as catalysts of
chemical reactions. Enzymes need specific conditions to work properly, and if these
conditions change, the enzymes can become denatured. Temperature is one of those
conditions. Enzymes in pineapple have the ability to break down the chemical bonds
that make Jello solid, meaning if fresh pineapple is placed in Jello, it will become
liquified. However, when pineapple chunks are in solid Jello salad, they don t do this
because the pineapple was added when the Jello was still hot, killing the enzymes.
(Shumit DasGupta). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For many enzymes found in mammals, the optimum temperature is 37 degrees C, so
if the reaction temperature is too high, meaning around 45 degrees, the enzymes in
the pineapple will deactivate and this will keep any reaction from taking place. (Erik
Zipp).

have often wondered throughout my life, as my literature and film interests grew
and expanded, where my lines should be drawn. How far is too far, and where do
excursions into more adult fiction turn from innocent interest into sin? I know that I
have fairly strict lines on when sexual content or humor becomes inappropriate, and
this is assisted by my lake of interest in the majority of genres that typically
showcase such things. Additionally, my interest in genres that showcase gratuitous
violence or cursing is also fairly minimal. However, I have always loved works of
fantasy, mythology, and even supernatural, which has, on occasion, upset my
grandparents. They would much prefer that my brother and I forgo Greek mythology

However, in my class at the same Christian school, I had friends who watching such
movies before middle school as well as friends who were not allowed to read Harry
Potter, or even watch Disney movies, as teenagers. While there is certainly leeway
that should be given for the comfort level of a person and their circumstances, I can t
imagine that there shouldn t be boundaries that a Christian puts in place for
themselves. Boundaries set up by the culture or time period are so changeable. When
my grandparents were young the church frowned upon playing cards, dancing,
attending the movies, and women wearing pants. Now, although remnants of those
beliefs remain, much of the Christian community in America has vastly different
opinions. If moral standards have changed in such things, how have they changed in
relation to the literature and media we consume? What is and isn t appropriate to set
your mind and emotions on as you read or

A research project that synthesizes your knowledge of encryption, keys, and virtual
private networks. Write a 5 7 page report on your findings.
Encryption
Encryption refers to a technique that facilitate the storage, transmission of
information in a format that is unreadable to unintended audience. Unintended
audience in this case may be hackers, sniffers, malwares e.t.c.the technique has been
widely used to curb phishing in the current network security landscape.
There are two fundamental techniques used in encrypting data: i.e. symmetric
encryption (also referred to as secret key encryption) and asymmetric encryption (also
referred to as public key encryption.)
Symmetric Encryption/Secret Key Encryption.
Symmetric encryption is the earliest and widely popular encryption technique. This
technique uses a secret key which can be a string of words, numbers which are
randomly selected to effect confidentiality. The secret Key is applied on the original
message to change the content into a cipher. The modification of the message to the
cipher might be a simple reordering of the message letter sequence to complex
alterations. With the help of the secret key the sender and the recipient can encrypt
and decrypt messages respectively.
Symmetric key encryption therefore uses an identical key to encrypt and decrypt
information. Due to its simplicity it is faster as compared to asymmetric encryption
with the length of keys critical to the encryption security .NIST recommends that the

Stanton s genius that allows the people to relate to him, he lets them know that he

honesty to the voters to the American public, admitting the mistakes he had made in
the past and confessing that he is not qualified to even pretend to run for the

through dramatic irony that it was indeed Mrs. Wright who murdered John Wright.
Many literary works have clear defined genderroles, Glaspell use s these gender roles
to show the mistreatment and representation of the women in the play. This feminist
analysis is shown throughout the play through many different aspects. Trifles is
defined as something that does not have much importance or value. Throughout the
play, you see the many things men believe to be trifle to women. Such as, Mrs.

During the play, the men criticize the women for worrying about all the trifle things
throughout the house, such as the frozen preserves in the kitchen and the mess
throughout the house. The men also do not see the women as anything but their
house wives, who they have control over. An example of this is when the county
attorney states For that matter, a sheriffs wife is married to the law (1039). The
county attorney is stating that since Mrs. Peters is married to the sheriff that she
also holds a part of this title and that she would not do anything to undermine him.
The county attorney states that given Mrs. Peter s marriage to the sheriff, she is to
never undermine him because what she does reflects back on him. Another example
of how the women in Trifles have no self representation is that throughout the whole
play none of the women go by their first names. When speaking to each other it is
always Mrs. Hale or Mrs.
53. Five Impetitive Forces Of IBM
In the epoch of globalization and widespread use of technologies, emerging trends
change rapidly. Thus, the future of any competitive company becomes less and
less predictable. To avoid this situation, enterprises apply risk prevention and
mitigation strategies aimed to remove the general threat of substitution. However,
a biggest danger derives from small day to day changes which are likely to affect
the businesses slowly but notably. Taking IBM as a vivid example of a successful
company, it is reasonable to claim that it also is endangered by non linear changes
and needs to be ready for the uncertain future. To prepare the organization for
potential unstable situations, it is important to consider five competitive forces of
the company as well as global technological trends, in accordance with the
specialization of a business entity. First, the influence of customer and supplier
power, established rivals, new entrants or substitutes may notably impact the
productivity and profitability of IBM (Porter, 2008). To neutralize the supplier s
power, the IT company needs to put efforts into improvement of its production
process because it mostly relies on staff. To attract consumers, IBM can focus on the
idea of multiplatform consisting of several technological start ups, where each one
has a different function. As a result, with the versatile range a products, it would be
easier for the company to pressure new entrants and spend more resources on
research and development (R D).
