world. It can happen to anyone of all ages, and in numerous ways. Bullying is
unwanted, aggressive behavior among people that involves a real or perceived power
imbalance that either repeats or has the potential to repeat, overtime (Bullying
Definition). There are so many factors that tie into bullying such as, why the bully
is actually bullying, why the bully chose that victim, or even the effects that occur
while the bullying is taking place. Low self esteem is a common reason why
someone would want to bully a person. Low self esteem is the lack of pride a
person feels in themselves. Often times a bully feels like they are less than others
and the only way for them to feel better about themselves is to try to bring others
down. A lot of bullies aren t trying to hurt someone physically, they use words and
certain remarks to torture a person, making that person feel just as less as them just
to uplift their own self esteem. Although low self esteem is a cause narcissism is
also a factor to bullying. Not only can a bully feel less of themselves but they can
also feel that they are higher or better than others. Cockiness is a trait seen in many
bullies. This may show in people such as jocks at a high school, or a fellow co

that it might not be such a bad idea to get a basic understanding of the issue through a

It was however, the informal interactions that taught me the most. I was glad that I
could meet both sections. There are several girls that I interacted with but many of

While most people know the man C. S. Lewis as the author of the Narnia series, an
uncommon fact remains that he enjoyed reading and writing poetry. Although
Lewis s skills as a poet were not as fine tuned as his narrative and fiction, he
managed to create very thought provoking works with style and creativity. One of
these great pieces, he titled Wormwood; this poem likely was named after one of the
demons originating from one of his earlier books the Screwtape letters. This poem
focuses on the spiritual world and similar to Screwtape letters shows the impending
darkness in the world around us. The poem utilized alternate rhyme meaning every
two lines rhyme; however, this specific rhyme would not necessarily be repeated

The purpose of this study was to understand the college students perceptions of slut
shaming discourse. The research indicated that there was a strong correlation between
cultural expectations and slut shaming. According to the results, the perceptions of
slut shaming are influenced by aspects such as: class, culture, media, gender,
feminism, ethnicity, religion, and sexuality. Overall, college students were found to
be on crossfire of slut shaming discourse on a college campus. It was concluded,
based on the research, the participants have significantly identified with judging a
woman by the way she dresses. It is recommended that further research be devoted to
slut shaming perceptions in different: cultures, groups, regions, religions,
organizations, media and institutions.

Danver had made her out to be. In fact, after the ball when Mr. De Winters was
upset about how the heroine had wore the same gown as Rebecca it was not
because he missed her dearly, instead it was because it reminded him of how awful
his late wife traded him while they were together. At the end of the novel the house

This perseverance could be related to Allende s perseverance in life such as
becoming a journalist and author. Throughout the three Fortunato generations,
there was the desired result of a successful circus. The first Fortunato persevered
through times of catastrophe and turmoil (105) and for years Horacio s
grandfather bore the sole responsibility for the spectacle (105). His desire to save
and maintain his circus came to the point where he had to perform almost all of the
acts. However, he managed somehow to survive bad times while many other
circuses succumbed and were thus obliterated(106). The first Fortunato s desire to
keep his circus buoyant left him to persevere through all the hard time and come
out stronger. The first Fortunato s son, Fortunato II, was left a debt free
enterprise. He too persevered with an unshakable prudence and under his direction
the circus grew in size and prestige until it was the largest in the nation. (105) He
made it so that the enormous caravan no longer drifted aimlessly, as it had in his
father s day, but steamed purposefully (106). The second Fortunato was able to
make the circus a greater success. His father before him allowed him to do so
through his perseverance and thus created a new, higher goal for his son to reach.
Horacio, the third Fortunato, intended to be rich from the time he was a young boy
(108). His goal was predetermined and he eventually lived a good life.
