This notion is the core of James MacGregor Burns classic definition of leadership as leaders inducing
followers to act for certain goals that represent the values and the motivations the wants and needs, the
aspirations and expectations of both leaders and followers. Successful leadership inspires the members

Background
The growth and survival of a plant depends on the reactions that occur internally called
photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a reaction that captures the sun s energy and converts it, water, and
carbon dioxide into glucose, with a byproduct of oxygen. Glucose is a sugar that provides energy to
allow for a plant to grow and live. This experiment is to test how photosynthesis can be sped up with a
home solution. The variable being changed in this experiment is the solution that the plant is being
given. In this instance, some of the plants will be given Gatorade, rather than water. The question
being asked is, How well will a solution found in the home affect plant growth?
My hypothesis is that, if a plant is given Gatorade instead of water, then it will grow more quickly
than if the plant is just given water. This is because of the components of Gatorade. Gatorade contains
water, a key component of plant growth. But, because Gatorade contains various vitamins, sugars, and
electrolytes, the plant should already be supplied with some of the products of photosynthesis, so the
plant should produce sugars at a normal rate, plus have the additional bonus from the Gatorade.
Procedure
Four cups of equal size were filled with one cup of garden soil. Lima beans were planted at an equal
depth (one inch as instructed on the bag). Every day, for 33 days, each plant received one half

Taylor did treat people like machines as he worked them as hard as possible, leaving them with no
energy at the end of the day for leisure activities. His stop watch techniques making sure they met the
time goals resulted in the feeling of a large amount of pressure.
Taylor s personality was of being a meticulous and Machiavellian, obsessive about details and
overbearing. He was therefore one of the worst types of people to have as a manager is a very

Williams s playwright, A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Stephen Thomas. Performed excellently

of theatre, from basic acting skills to technical designing. Also, this was my first time attended to
watch a live performance by the college student.
A Streetcar Named Desire is the story about of a girl named Blanche DuBois, travels from the town of
Laurel to live with her sister in the New Orleans French Quarter. Her sister, Stella live in a two room
flat with her brother in law, Stanley Kowalski. She finds Stanley vulgar, boisterous, and dominant
husband. However, Stanley does not like her presence and thinks that Blanche comes with a secret.
Unfortunately, they do not like each other. Stanley feels that while she is staying with them, Blanche
tries to convince Stella that he is loud and rough as common. He wants Blanche to leave, so he gives
her a bus ticket back to Laurel for her birthday. Later on, Stanley gossips to Stella that he has gathered
on Blanche, telling her about what did Blanche do in the past. At the end of the play, he brutally rapes
Blanche, while Stella is at the hospital with their first child. Blanche becomes psychotic crisis by
destroying her both physically and mentally from what Stanley did to her. Blanche tells the truth about
Stanley s assault to Stella, but her sister disbelieves her. Blanche has suffered a complete mental
breakdown and is to be committed to a mental hospital.

Its sad to think that in some circumstances happiness can be neither pursued or compromised by
oneself. Its sad that the most wonderful people get stuck with the shittiest of circumstances. I knew

An example of the use of fear to bring emotion to the reader in Oedipus the King is when the city of
Thebes is suffering from a plague that destroys fields of crops as well as the fertility of its woman. A
blight is on the fruitful plants of the earth, a blight is on the cattle in the fields, a blight is on our
women that no children are born to them; a God that carries fire, a deadly pestilence, is on our town
(Sophocles 26 30). At the beginning of the play when Oedipus is asking the people of Thebes why
they are sitting in front of his palace, a Priest explains that there is a plague going on in the city and
they want an end to it. It is later known that the plague will never end until the murderer of Laius, the
king of Thebes before Oedipus, is found. Oedipus vows to find the murderer, which eventually leads
to him finding out he was the one who killed his father and married his own mother, thus fulfilling his
fate. This extracts pity from the reader, for all the character tried their hardest to run from the
prophecy but in the end, it still catches them. Lastly, tragedy can be seen throughout the entire play, as
readers see the steady downfall of a hero, who was heavily influenced by his hubris or pride. Aristotle
s ideal tragic hero is one the must exceed the average man intellectually, physically and mentally.
