Cosplay Research Paper
The Unwritten and Unofficial Rules of Cosplaying and Convention Going 1)When making a
cosplay you should never think that the final outcome will look exactly like what you wanted. If
you do then you will probably never get the cosplay finished. 2)If you see someone cosplaying a
character from a show that everybody hates, do not treat that person as that character. This will
either cause the person to get violent or you will ruin their day entirely. 3)When making a
cosplay be sure to never go for the most expensive items unless there is no other option. If you do
buy expensive products your wallet may feel a lot lighter afterwards. 4)If your cosplay involves
body paint of any kind be sure to use a paint sealer of some kind. If you don t

The Spread Of Foodborne Illness
The unwanted spread of foodborne illnesses has become a main cause of gastrointestinal
complications from consuming tainted foods. Over seventy six million cases will occur in the
United States every year according to Sagar, in Viruses in Food. The spread of foodborne illness
is through the oral fecal route and can be from viral causes like Hepatitis A, Noroviruses, and
Human Caliciviruses, or has bacteriapresent like E. Coli or Salmonella. Thinking about consuming
contaminated foods with fecal material present seems like it would be unrealistic. However, even
microscopic traces of fecal matter found on the fooditems can carry any of the viral, or bacterial
properties can cause illness. The process of not being thoroughly cooked and or cleaned properly
is some of the other leading factors of foodborne illness. Cross contamination, along with improper
handling and cooking of raw meats, poultry, and egg products are to blame for this in the United
States. Stopping the unwanted spread of foodborne illness may prove to be difficult, due to the
vast variety of causes; however, with proper education of cleaning cooking of raw foods the battle
of foodborne illness can begin to be stopped.
Viruses live in the gut of the intestine. Not all viruses live in the gut, but, most do and then are
excreted in the feces into the soil. Animals, especially cattle, are a large cause of this, and the main

Benefits Of Drinking Bottled Water Essay
There are many benefits of drinking bottled water, but these benefits do not outweigh the costs.
Drinking bottled water can have many negative effects on human health, and can be very harmful
to the environment. Over the past ten years, the bottled water market has tripled. Every year the
market grows ten percent from the previous year. Because the market is continuously growing, the
amount of negative impacts of bottled waterare also growing. Bottled water has been linked to
health defects, illnesses including cancer, pollution and global warming. Purchasing and
drinking bottled water is not good, and there are many dangers that come with purchasing
plastic bottled water. Not only is bottled water more expensive than tap water, but the
production, and transportation of bottled water is also costly. The United States alone consumes
over thirty billion bottles of water every year while the world consumes 70.4 billion gallons of
bottled water every year. There are four major bottled water companies including: NestlГ©,
Danone, Coca Cola, and Pepsi Co (along with other local companies). Worldwide these
companies bring in $100 billion every year. The Beverage Marketing Corporation (BMC) has
predicted that by the end of 2016, bottled water will be the number one most sold packaged
beverage sold in the United States (Bosque, 2011). There are over 40,000 semi trucks delivering
the bottled water all over the United States. Transporting all of the bottled water calls for lots of

Learning s Reflection On The Experience Of Learning
Back when I was a child, learning to me was memorising multiplication tables and grammar rules.
That perception altered during my university years, when learning meant observing, researching,
gaining experience through trial and error. I believe that it is the grand experience during my
university days, which showed me that the time honoured custom of reading and remembering
never did help me. I came to realise that learningis a mind altering process where, action during a
mind engaging activity, begs you to learn, unlearn and re learn.
I have also learnt through experience that learning cannot happen in a one size fits all approach.
Each child has a combination of different intelligence and learning style (Howard Gardner). Some
children would portray a balanced perspicacity, while others show certain dominating traits of
intelligence. It is not up to the child to identify these traits and harness it. In fact the onus is on the
teacher to identify and draw out the true potential of the learner, in a way the learner feels
motivated and challenged.
Traditional syllabi and formulaic methods of teaching aren t engaging and contradict many theories
I ve learnt from this course. I believe that learning happens when the process is learner centred,
wherein learners construct on previous knowledge (Bruner) with plenty of audio visual stimuli and
the right amount of intervention from the facilitator (William Black), thus maximising the learning
potential. Learning happens at one s own pace (Maria Montessori), that which is based on
experience (John Dewey, Kolb s Experiential learning theory) and the learner should be encouraged
to be curious enough to pursue bigger questions.
I found some of the following teaching strategies to be of great value enhancing the learning
process.
Group work: Group work aids in students working together maximising their own and each other
s learning (Johnson, Johnson Smith 1991). Group work allows productive in class discussions
that can be successful in large classrooms. This has to follow with an exit card or a 3 2 1. This
was also evident in my observation of EP, where the learners learnt from their peers and were
confident to share with other peers thus making it a successful

Efficient and Sustainable Ecosystems
Ecosystem Report:
Introduction:
Ecosystems are everywhere. Any place that contains living and non living organisms (biotic and
abiotic), that share the same space are a community, this is called an ecosystem. An ecosystem can
occupy a large space in the environment, or a very small space. To make up an ecosystem, there
must be an interrelationship between the abiotic and biotic components in the ecosystem; for
example, there must be a series of food chains in order for the different species to survive in that
particular ecosystem. Another definition of an ecosystem is:
They consist of all the organisms in a community, their biotic and abiotic environments, and
exchanges within and between each of these (Knox et al. 2010, p. 128).
The purpose of this investigation is to thoroughly study an ecosystem, to expand the knowledge of
many who wish to further understand the environment and its components. By completing this
investigation it allows for people to understand the importance and needs for having and
maintaining healthy ecosystems. For example, Ecosystems provide food both in their natural
state...in the form of managed landscapes (International Water Management Institute 2011, p. 11).
The investigations of ecosystems are vital in today s society because people can learn how to
better treat and take care of them so they are more efficient and sustainable.

The Fair Labor Standards Act Essay
The Fair Labor Standards Act The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) was passed by Congress on
June 25th, 1938. The main objective of the act was to eliminate labor conditions detrimental to
the maintenance of the minimum standards of living necessary for health, efficiency and well
being of workers, [1] who engaged directly or indirectly in interstate commerce, including those
involved in production of goods bound for such commerce. A major provision of the act
established a maximum work week and minimum wage. Initially, the minimum wage was $0.25
per hour, along with a maximum workweek of 44 hours for the first year, 42 for the second year
and 40 thereafter. Minimum wages of $0.25 per hour were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

FLSA are due on the regular payday for the pay period covered. Who is Covered? All employees
of certain enterprises having workers engaged in interstate commerce, producing goods for
interstate commerce, or handling, selling, or otherwise working on goods or materials that have
been moved in or produced for such commerce are covered by FLSA. Employees of firms which
are not covered enterprises under FLSA still may be subject to its minimum wage, overtime pay,
and child labor provisions if they are individually engaged in interstate commerce or in the
production of goods for interstate commerce, or in any closely related process or occupation

Somalia s Struggle for Power Essay example
Somalia s struggle for power to establish a sovereign Somali state has raised international
concerns of terrorism, piracy, human trafficking and famine causing instability locally and
throughout the Horn of Africa. Although U.S. backed Somali Federal Government (SFG) has
had some recent success against the al Qaeda (AQ) linked al Shabaab, Somalia continue to face
local and regional border disputes. Somalia has historically relied on outside actors who later
abandoned Somalia due to a shift in foreign policy and interest. This paper will prove that the
power for struggle in Somalia is the root cause of instability in Somalia and throughout the Horn of

Ethiopia s armed responses only strengthen Mohammed s cause in the Ogaden region. The Mad
Mohammed s Dervish campaigns lasted from 1899 1904, until the British, and Ethiopian
troops, and Somali s who were against Mohammed s Dervish tactics, mounted various successful
campaigns against Mohammed (Gorman, 1981). With Mohammed s strength nearly eliminated,
he agreed to a peace deal in 1904. Mohammed and his followers were allowed to settle in the
northern part of Italian Somalia where he was recognized as the ruler by the Europeans.
Regardless of the peace deal, Mohammed s cause began to draw support from other Somali
tribes and the fighting continued until his natural death in 1920. Like Gran, Mohammed had
failed to unite Somali clans; however the two Somali nationalists have laid a physiological
impact on Somali s against Ethiopians and foreigners involved with the Somali power struggle
(Gorman, 1981) (Ottaway, 1982). Later British Somalia and Italian Somalia joined to form the
Republic of Somalia in June 1960. Somali s now could claim statehood. During the early years of
independence, tensions continued over contested areas in the Northern Front District with Kenya
and in the Ogaden with Ethiopia. (Gorman, 1981) (Ottaway, 1982) As Somalia looked to establish
itself as a country they allied with Russia to help build Somalia s Military, which led to a military

An Outline Of The Veggies ( And Fruits ! ) For Seniors...
With the exploding population of senior citizens occurring at this time, we are seeing a
commensurate explosion in health problems with are causing a taxing burden on the health care
system. Health conditions such as high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, kidney failure and
others are expensive to treat, and oftentimes they are fatal. However, diet is a major contributor
to many of these problems. The Veggies (and Fruits!) for Seniors Health Promotion Project is
designed to bring to the attention of seniors the need to consume a diet high in fruits and
vegetables as part of an overall healthy lifestyle. This summary will quantify the problem,
provide an outline of the Veggies (and Fruits!) for Seniors program, along with cooperating
partners, and propose objectives that should be accomplished once this project is executed. The
senior population continues to grow much faster than it has in any generation in the history of the
United States. According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census (2008), the anticipated growth of the
population 60 and over in the U.S. is expected to grow from just under 55 million in the 2010
census to 72 million in the 2020 census. This represents a 13% increase in the aging population in
just a 10 year period. To add to this, we are currently experiencing what the National Institute on
Aging (2015) characterizes as a dramatic increase in life expectancy. This means that there are

The Importance Of Religion In Literature
Religion guides humans to a higher order of existence through the collective organization of
beliefs, cultural identities, and world views. Religion seeks to define the meaning of life and
human existence through historical narratives, symbols, and faith. Since the birth of religions,
these have adopted a central focus of the way people live, their lifestyle choices, and their
boundaries. In doing so, religionhas been used as a preeminent theme in works of literature since
the ancient world, as the greater part of first written texts were religious stories. Throughout
centuries however, writers have been adapting religion in literature in many different ways, such as
in: Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler, Draculaby Bram Stoker, and On the Road by Langston
Hughes. Religion in these literary works has played a life changing role in the lives of its
characters. In these texts, some characters accept established religions while others reject it,
instead, focusing their time on creating their own. In Octavia Butler s Parable of the Sower, the
stories heroine, Lauren Olamina, daughter of a Baptist minister during a degenerative and
apocalyptic United States. Inside of the walls of her gated community, religion is presented as the
unifying doctrine keeping everyone together in times of excruciating chaos. However, Lauren is
beginning to mature as a young woman and has begun to question her Christian faith; and as a
result, seeks to create her own religion, Earthseed.

There are many structures in the eye, some of which include; the retina, rods and cones, the macula,

a layer at the back of the eye containing cells that are sensitive to light, it triggers impulses through
the optic nerve. Rods and cones are specialized receptors which sense light and color. The macula
is an area about the diameter of a pencil head and is close to 100 times more sensitive to small

The Importance Of Darshan In Puja
The importance of Darshan in Puja
Puja is a Hindu ceremony that centers on the offerings to a deity, this offering aims to earn the
deity s love and gather blessings. This ritual is symbolic, and an individual who performs Puja is
offering the body, soul and all that there possess to the deity to receive what the goddess may have
to offer. During puja, an individual seeks a connection with the goddess through the experience of
Darshan. In the context of darshan, a Murti is an absorption tool in which the deity is seen, and an
individual sees god through that Murti. The ceremony is a personal devotion declaration of love
and loyalty to a deity and establishes direct communication through mind and body.
According to Eck (p.2), the meaning of darshan is religious seeing in which the core mandate of
the individual is to experience the presence of the deity and be seen by the god. While there are
prayers and offerings offered the critical aspect of the ceremony is the worship the image and
through the eyes gain and experienced blessings from the deity (Eck, p.2). Love and loyalty
aspects are coined in a much serious manner, and all the expectations from the deity are not in any
way a part of the ritual. The ceremony of puja is done in homes or a temple in which the icon is
bathed, dressed coupled with offerings, incense, and drums (Flood, p.209). The act of quality of the
Puja is dependent on the intensity, the loyalty of the devotion and purity of the individual

Introduction and aim
Hip fractures result in a number of health related problems and even mortality among older people.
Hypovitaminosis D is one of the prevalent issues related to hip fracture. The REVITAHIP study is a
trial with multisite and randomized control investigating the effect of an initial loading dose
vitamin D on recovery consequences after hip fracture surgery. The aim of the paper is to compare
the REVITAHIP study with other studies using vitamin D to improve the rehabilitation after hip
fracture surgery based on the assessed baseline characteristics of participants, with a focus on
hypovitaminosis D.
Methods
Demographic and clinical data of the involved participants were collected before the trial. The
trial randomly allocated the participants who were aged over 65, from public hospitals in
Australia and had a surgery demand within 7 days after hip fracture into two groups. The two
groups were provided by a loading dose of vitamin D3 or placebo, followed by receiving oral

Mr Laurence House Empty The Next Morning
Jen was relieved to find the Laurence house empty the next morning. There was a note from Mrs
Laurence on the kitchen table, reminding her to check the weekly grocery delivery, and not to
answer the door to anyone else. She was hoovering the stairs when the doorbell rang; she looked
through the landing window, but couldn t see the delivery van. Remembering Mrs Laurence s

turned to ring the bell again, and Jen stepped back. There was something wrong with his face; the
skin was pink and shiny, and stretched tightly over the bones. His features were nondescript, except
for his lips, which were full, the corners curving upward, as if carved into the flesh with a knife. He
slid something through the letterbox, and left.
Jen ran up to the landing window to see which way he went. She caught her breath. He d crossed

and his shoes were down at heel, but he looked confident, even arrogant, standing with his legs

better than he had at Groton. Thanks to his tremendous preparation at Groton, however, FDR was
able to complete his course study for his B.A. in 1903, only three years. During his fourth year he
was editor of the Crimson, the college newspaper, but he was not admitted to the most prestigious
social club. He did not receive much inspiration in the classroom, and he displayed no excitement
about his studies. While he was at Harvard FDR fell in love with Anna Eleanor Roosevelt, his fifth
cousin once removed. Eleanor came from a troubled past, but grew up in the same aristocracy
that FDR himself had. On March 17, 1905, the two were married. The marriage worked well
enough, with Eleanor giving birth to five children within the first 11 years of their marriage.
Having both been born into wealth, neither Roosevelt had any problem mixing with the aristocracy
of the New York area. Despite often periods of unhappiness, Eleanor stayed true to Franklin for the

For data gathering, a communication study was used in the form of a survey. Ex post facto
extent of control was used since Penton Media can t change the results and have to report the
results they receive. The purpose was chosen as a reporting study as they are compiling data and
providing a summary of the survey results. This study s time frame is cross sectional with a
survey being sent out once for the formal results. The topical scope is statistical because it wants
to compare characteristics and draw conclusions. Field conditions were used in this study because
there is no change in the surveyor s environment. Finally, the participant s perceptions are not
changed and they are aware of the research being conducted. Strengths The strength of this study is
in the ex post facto design where Penton Media has to report from the survey results. There is no
way that Penton Media can change or modify the results so this makes the research more reliable
and dependable. Another strength is that the participant s environment and perceptions aren t
changed or affected. This makes for more honest and trustworthy results. Weaknesses A
communication study is great for the research question that Penton Media is trying to answer.
However, they could also get more data from their advertisers. Since many companies keep a

Essay on Understanding Hamlet s Famous Speech in...
Understanding Hamlet s Famous Speech in Shakespeare s Hamlet
Hamlet s classsic To be or not to be... (Hamlet, prince of Denmark, 3.1.57) speech really shows
who he is. Obviously Hamlet is horribly depressed. We have already seen several examples of
this, but this speech gives us a clear picture of his sadness. More importantly however, his speech
shows his weakness and indecisiveness. Hamlet is consistently melancholy, but he never really acts
on it; he just kind of wallows around, full of self pity and loathing. Finally, it gives us Hamlet s
reason for not committing suicide. Throughout the play he seems to wish for death and here we
find out why he doesn t bring it on himself. This also gives us a window into his personality. This ...

As though he only wishes to rest and forget his troubled soul. We see here for the first time why
he wants to die. It is not that he feels there is too much pain or strife in life, but that he is tired
with dealing with it and exausted by his efforts. Hamlet says in this speech, in as plain of
language as he can, that he is depressed and wants to die. But, he has said that before. This
speech gives us our first clear indication as to his reason for craving death. More interestingly,
Hamlet shows here his fundamental cowardice and fear. He has been going on for the whole play
about how terrible his life is and how much pain and suffering he has had to endure, and he starts
out the speech on this note. This is the first indication of his weakness. Hamlet it seems would
rather bemoan his troubles than solve them. He goes on and on about his crappy life but rarely,
if ever, even tries to do anything about it. Even in his desire for death he will speak but not act.
He has wished for ceath at least ten times during the play, but when it comes right down to it
Hamlet is to scared to act on his desire. He doesn t decide against suicide because of some noble
realization (that life is far to precious to be wasted for example), he is just too scared of the
afterlife. Hamlet, in the play up to this point, claims to be in dire straits but his paralyzing fear
keeps him from action. He would rather suffer with

1. Introduction
Mobile technology or known as handheld computers originates as a one of the trend nowadays,
which people use in their daily life. Examples of mobile device are smartphones, and tablet. Mobile
technology has been more widely and quickly adopted than any other innovation ever (Pope et al.,
2010). As we know, in this new digital era, everyone has their own phone and they use it every day
in order to communicate with others and get information. Jacobs (2009) stated that mobile access
has become a universal form of communication. It means that everyone uses mobile technology
everywhere and anywhere they wish. The

The Importance Of Human Nature In Of Mice And Men
Stories and other literary forms are often used to showcase different aspects of human nature. John
Steinbeck uses the story Of Mice and Men to display the truth behind human aspirations and
emotions. Steinbeck exhibits both the kindness and the cruelty that lies within everyone. Through
both symbolism and direct statements, the readers can understand the different struggles and
motives of each character. Of Mice and Men shows the world through the perspective of many
people from different backgrounds, including workers, women, the mentally ill, and colored
people. Though the characters appear drastically different, they all have dreams and yearn to
belong. In Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck is trying to show the importance of friendship, the
impossibility of the American dream, and the discrimination in the 1930 s. Many characters in the
story go without friendship, causing them to feel alone in the world. George and Lennie are the
only characters introduced that stick together. George and Lennie say multiple times that we got a
future. We got somebody to talk to that gives a damn about us (Steinbeck 14). Their friendship is
what makes them different from all of the other men because they have someone else to rely on. On
the contrary, Slim and the other men in the workhouse travel alone. Slim explains that hardly none
of the guys ever travel together.... You know how the hands are, they just come in and get their

Affluenza Arguments
Affluenza Anyone who kills innocent people should not be able to avoid jail just because their
family is rich. Ethan Couch a teenager killed 4 innocent people and injuring 2 of his passengers
while driving drunk. For his actions he was supposed to go to jail but instead got probation for
being diagnosed with affluenza. Which is when someone does not understand or control what
they do simply because they come from a rich family. Affluenza is not an acceptable reason for
someone to avoid jail time because he is old enough to know what was right or wrong and he is
no different from any other kids. Some people might argue that affluenza is a good enough
reason to avoid jail. These people believe this because they say that he is yet still undeveloped
and his parents didn t teach him anything. For instance, in the article affluenza isn t as crazy as it
sounds, by Danny Cevallos argues that As children our functions such as risk assessment and
judgement are still undeveloped. (Cervallos, p28)It is very true that we are still young and we do

Chickenpox
Epidemiology: Chickenpox
The Varicella Zoster virus causes a very infectious disease called Chickenpox. Chickenpox is
usually acquired through the inhalation of airborne respiratory droplets from an infected host.
Chickenpox is primarily acquired during childhood , with more than 90% of all reported cases
occurring in children under the age of 10. A person with chickenpoxcan spread the virus without
even showing any signs or symptoms. It is usually most easily transmitted two to three days before
a rash appears and keeps that high transmission rate until the blisters have crusted over.

Before vaccines were introduced, varicella was endemic in the United States, and virtually all
persons acquired varicella at some point before adulthood (cdc.gov, 2006). It is reported that 4
million cases of chickenpox were recorded in the U.S. each year before the vaccine was
introduced. Although some states reported cases of varicella to the CDC, it was eliminated from
the list of nationally notifiable conditions in 1981. Children under 10 years of age make up
between 75 90 % of chickenpox cases. In 1995, due to the availability of the vaccine in the U.S.,
hospitalizations due to chickenpox has declined by nearly 90% (Hambleton, Gershon, 2005).
Determinants of Health
Varicella peaks in the months of March through May and throughout the regions with mild
temperature. Varicella and herpes zosteroccur worldwide and are not restricted to any one
geographic location. According to the CDC, the varicella infection is more prevalent among adults
than children in tropical areas. It is unknown what the reasons are for the difference of age

London Regeneration Essay
In order to understand fully the regeneration of the Stratford area, it is imperative that there is
some prior knowledge of how the area has developed over time. As London is the capital of
England it has always been at the forefront of development, but other different areas of London
have progressed at different speeds, meaning that some areas have been left waiting for
regeneration whilst others have already developed. Regeneration is defined as the revitalisation
of a place or community. Regeneration is both a process and an outcome . In the 1920s there
were many large slums including Old Nichol, situated in Shoreditch. The conditions in the slums
were well documented by Irene Barclay, who was a chartered surveyor and wanted to address

the areas devastated and the district was categorised as part of Central Areas Needing Renewal by

Inherit The Wind Theme
Albert Einstein once said, We cannot solve the problems by using the same kind of thinking we
used when we created them. This idea is present throughout Inherit the Wind. Inherit the Wind is a
play that challenges both science and belief. Its plot surrounds an educator teaching Charles
Darwin s theory of evolution in a small town where the Bible is treated as the only book that
explains where humanity came from. The play s playwrights, Robert E. Lee and Jerome Lawrence,
is justifying, through Inherit the Wind, the perils of having a limited perspective and reveals that one
should expand one s horizons to continue progressing in life, prevent ignorance, and exclusion from

Lee are present in their character s dialogue. As Drummond puts it, The Bible is a book. A good
book. But it s not the only book (Lawrence and Lee 98). Drummond is referring to Darwin s book
when he says that the Bible is not the only book. This is also his way of telling the spectators
and the jury that there is a world out there with boundless perceptions and by becoming intact
with the sole idea of God s creation, one misses that chance to meet that ever so changing world.
Once one misses that chance, one does not progress to one s full potential. At the same time,
Drummond also states, ... It s the loneliest feeling in the world to find yourself standing up when
everybody else is sitting down (Lawrence and Lee 51). Drummond is referring to the absence of
mind and the presence of ignorance in Brady s life due to his limited perspective. He is telling
Brady that while everybody else has opened their minds and started reconsidering their own
beliefs, he remains close minded and that feeling of isolation and exclusion from the rest of the
world is because of his ignorance. Brady s ignorance has not only affected the way he sees the
world, but also the way the world sees him. Correspondingly, Drummond states, All motion is
relative. Perhaps it is you who have moved away by standing still (Lawrence and Lee 67).

Description Of A Website On A Webpage Essay
Archiving
When testing if a webpage is archived and how often is it archived one important factor is when is
the webpage created. If a webpage is created in 2000 we would assume it will be archived several
times. However, if the webpage is created yesterday we would assume it might not be archived or
at least once. So here we want to figure out the creation date of our collection and make sure we
have a different variety of creation years.
One method to determine when the URIs are created is to find out when was the domain name
created. This can be done using the Whois protocol [14]. However, using this method we only
found 3533 creation date out of 7976 Arabic seed URIs . The oldest creation date we found using
this method in our collection of Aranic seed URIs was 1996.
Another method is the carbon date tool, it searches for creation date in the indexed search engines,
archived in the public archives, and shared in the social media and save the oldest date found as the
creation date. We have to note that creation dates obtained are just an estimate [15].
Figure 3 shows the creation date and its frequency. It shows we have a large distribution of
creation dates. And the maximum creation date was in 2005 where almost 500 websites are created.
ARCHIVE
Online websites are crawled and are archived so they can be available for any special purpose [16].
We checked if Arabic URIs are archived using the memento web time map. We collected the

Payday Loans Advantages
A payday loan is an option if you find yourself in need of quick cash. However, it should not be
your first option. Payday loans can be costly. They have to be paid back in full when you get your
next paycheck. Your credit will suffer if you do not pay the loan back on time.
Many people have trouble getting out of debt because of payday loans. That is why it is essential
for you to explore all of the alternatives before getting a payday loan.
Alternatives To Payday Loans

You will not have to worry about paying any interest as long as you pay the balance off in full by
the payment due date. You can also get a cash advance on your credit card.
Overdraft Protection
Most banks today offer overdraft protection with their checking accounts. If you overdraw your
account, then the funds will automatically be transferred from the credit card or savings account to
your checking account. Banks will usually charge a small fee for this transfer. However, this fee is
usually less than the amount that you will have to pay in interest on a payday loan.
Borrow From Your Retirement Fund
If you have a 401K or IRA plan, then you can borrow funds from it. There are no penalties for
this if you pay the funds back by the due date. On the other hand, you may have to pay additional
fees and income tax if you do pay the money back by the due date.
Blue Trust Loans
A blue trust loan is a type of installment loan. It is a great alternative to a payday loan because you
have more time to pay it back. The interest rates are also a lot lower on blue trust loans. In order
to qualify for a blue trust loan, you must be at least 18 years old and have a checking account. Your
income must also meet or exceed the lender s requirements.

Technology And Its Impact On Our Lives
Computers and technology at large have changed the lives of many people in the world both
positively and negatively. Computers have unveiled many things which have greatly influenced
our lives. This has made many teachers and students to adopt their use in classrooms. However,
the use of computers in our classrooms has been characterized by over reliance on them. Cyber
space has also played key roles in our lives. For instance, there is an increase in the number of
research papers done each day while, on the other hand, movies watched by students has
increased. These can be controlled through regulations and legislation from the governing bodies.
However, the author says that Cyberspace is a voluntary destination and Regardless of how many
laws or lawsuit are launched, regulation won t work . However, many people have used virtual
books for their own benefit helping them write good research papers. We will critically analyze the
literature behind the use of technology, mainly computers, to see how they have influenced our
lives both positively and negatively. We will also look at the effectiveness of computerusage in our
classrooms today.
Computers are an advantage for learners in both scientific and technological education as compared
to books. Approximately 2 billion dollars have been used to purchases of more than 2 million
computers in America (Gelemter, 1994). However, computers are awaited in a religious fear in

Saving Normal
What is normal? Normal, like the word love, has no true definition and will differ with every
person you ask. Defined in the dictionary normal is to conform to a particular standard or desired
pattern . I believe most people will say a normal person is one whom is free from defect,
handicap and mental illness. Medicalization is a social process through which a previously
normal human condition whether is be behavioral, physiological or emotional, becomes a medical
problem in need of treatment. For example, not long ago being a shy person, being reserved or

the prescribing of expensive medications. Primary care doctors prescribe 80% of psychotropic
drugs and as mentioned prior have little training and/or little interest in psychiatry; in addition they
spend little time actually evaluating symptoms. A majority of these doctors tend to favor pill
solutions and some even build their practice on becoming known for passing out prescriptions for
whatever the patients wants. A consequence of diagnostic inflation leads to an increased cost for
unnecessary drugs and psychiatric treatment.
Americans are now spending billions of dollars on psychiatric medications but according to

Human Resource Management professionals reported issues with tracking/administering
intermittent FMLA leave, determining the overall costs incurred while complying with the
requirements of the FMLA and determining whether an intermittent serious health condition
should be protected by the FMLA. (Frincke, pg. 7) There are no statutes or policies in the FMLA
that states the employee must furnish a doctor s note, but many state regulations do require it. If
there are any questions in regards to the seriousness of the employee s condition, the employer
can ask that documentation be provided if this requirement is made known before hand. There
are also situations where an employer may dispute a doctor s recommendation and they may
require the employee to get a second opinion. The doctor will then have to determine that the
duties of the employer s job cannot be performed or the requested leave is medically necessary.
With the exception of maternity, birth or adoption of child, most employees, typically, can only

Once he gets to the UK he meets up with Glen. Glen offers him a place to stay until he gets a
place of his own, gives him a ride to the training ground of his old club Newcastle United F.C.
and pays for his food. Through the way at his stay in the U.K he is tested mentally by playing in a
weather condition where he hasn t played at all once. An obstacle that gets on his way to

An example Karnaugh map
The Karnaugh map (K map for short), Maurice Karnaugh s 1953 refinement of Edward Veitch s
1952 Veitch diagram, is a method to simplify Boolean algebra expressions. The Karnaugh map
reduces the need for extensive calculations by taking advantage of humans pattern recognition
capability, permitting the rapid identification and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps the hardest to visualize wrap around term is which covers the four corners this covers
minterms 0, 2, 8, 10.
[edit] Solution
Once the Karnaugh Map has been constructed and the groups derived, the solution can be found by
eliminating extra variables within groups using the axioms of boolean algebra. It can be implied
that rather than eliminating the variables that change within a grouping, the minimal function can
be derived by noting which variables stay the same.
For the Red grouping: * The variable A maintains the same state (1) in the whole encircling,
therefore it should be included in the term for the red encircling. * Variable B does not maintain
the same state (it shifts from 1 to 0), and should therefore be excluded. * C does not change: it is
always 0. Because C is 0, it has to be negated before it is included (thus, ). * D changes, so it is
excluded as well.
Thus the first term in the Boolean sum of products expression is
For the Green grouping we see that A and B maintain the same state, but C and D change. B is 0
and has to be negated before it can be included. Thus the second term is
In the same way, the Blue grouping gives the term
The solutions of each grouping are combined into:
[edit] Inverse
The inverse of a function is solved in the same way by grouping the 0s instead.
The three terms to cover the inverse are all shown with grey boxes with different colored borders: *

Homosexuality In F. Scott Fitzgerald s Benjamin Button
From Shakespeare s Hamlet, and predating further to Sophocles Peleus, the theme of a person being
a man once and twice a child is often explored in literature. This idea of infancy being repeated
during senility is consistently seen in F. Scott Fitzgerald s short story, Benjamin Button, as seen
through the protagonist s life. Unconventionally, the story begins with the birth of Benjamin Button
as an old manof around seventy as he is partly crammed into one of the cribs (Fitzgerald 2). This
beginning of his life is mirrored with his end, where he resided in a white crib once again (unable
to come out), creating a circular return of senile infancy to infancy (14). Button, as an old man,
speaks to his father in a series of cries to have his needs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an elder, Button is reliant on and under the instruction of his father, where he begins by [taking
his father s] hand trustingly and listening to his orders, like when Roger insisted in no uncertain
terms that he should play with [the rattle] (5). Likewise, as a child Button is unable to care for
himself and is under the care of his son, where Roscoe took both [, his son and Benjamin,] to
kindergarten on the same day (13). There are other more detailed parallels, including Button s
kindergarten experience where he [pasted] green paper on orange paper, [weaved] coloured
maps, and [manufactured] eternal cardboard necklaces...He was inclined to drowse off to sleep
during his senior years (6). As a child, Button [played] with...coloured paper, [made] mats, and
chains] , which is almost exactly what he had done sixty years before (13). In conclusion, it is
evident that the stages of senility and infancy are very similarly portrayed by Fitzgerald in this
short story found through the dependency, roles, and habits both seem to share in the case of

Chairman and Chief Executive of leading European pharmaceutical enterprises, Nourtis:
Profit in pharmaceutical industries is not possible without patents and without patents innovation,
research and development of new life saving drugs and medicines suffers (Winestock and
Cooper, 2001, p. 1). Without incentive Research and Development (R amp;D) cannot be done,
and this incentive is provided by strong IPRs. According to Grabowski, H. (2002) the total cost
of doing researching and developing new drug along with the costs of capital and failed R amp;D
is more than US$400 million. In the absence of strong implementation of IPRs and R amp;D costs,
investors will not be ready to invest in R amp;D.
According to Dam (1994, P. 247), the copping of intangible assets are very easy and this will result
in free copying of innovation by imitators at a low cost. Patent which is one of the way of IPRs,
helps to motivate innovation and R amp;D by giving assurance to innovator total and exclusive
rights, these rights include manufacturing right, selling or maintaining, distributing or licensing to
distribute the invention. If patent laws in not available in pharmaceutical market no investors will
ready to do investment in R amp;D and the risk is so high that competitor will copy the good and
services with less risky investment (Ryan and Shanebrook, 2004, pp. 15, 16).
The main aim of Jordan s Patent Law before 1999, was availability of easily

Over seventy six million cases will occur in the United States every year according to Sagar, in Viruses in Food. The spread of foodborne illness is through the oral fecal route and can be from viral causes like Hepatitis A, Noroviruses, and Human Caliciviruses, or has bacteriapresent like E. Coli or Salmonella. Thinking about consuming contaminated foods with fecal material present seems like it would be unrealistic. However, even microscopic traces of fecal matter found on the fooditems can carry any of the viral, or bacterial properties can cause illness. The process of not being thoroughly cooked and or cleaned properly is some of the other leading factors of foodborne illness. Cross contamination, along with improper handling and cooking of raw meats, poultry, and egg products are to blame for this in the United States. Stopping the unwanted spread of foodborne illness may prove to be difficult, due to the vast variety of causes; however, with proper education of cleaning cooking of raw foods the battle of foodborne illness can begin to be stopped. • 4. Benefits Of Drinking Bottled Water Essay There are many benefits of drinking bottled water, but these benefits do not outweigh the costs. Drinking bottled water can have many negative effects on human health, and can be very harmful to the environment. Over the past ten years, the bottled water market has tripled. Every year the market grows ten percent from the previous year. Because the market is continuously growing, the amount of negative impacts of bottled waterare also growing. Bottled water has been linked to health defects, illnesses including cancer, pollution and global warming. Purchasing and drinking bottled water is not good, and there are many dangers that come with purchasing plastic bottled water. Not only is bottled water more expensive than tap water, but the production, and transportation of bottled water is also costly. The United States alone consumes over thirty billion bottles of water every year while the world consumes 70.4 billion gallons of bottled water every year. There are four major bottled water companies including: NestlГ©, Danone, Coca Cola, and Pepsi Co (along with other local companies). Worldwide these companies bring in $100 billion every year. The Beverage Marketing Corporation (BMC) has predicted that by the end of 2016, bottled water will be the number one most sold packaged beverage sold in the United States (Bosque, 2011). • 5. Learning s Reflection On The Experience Of Learning Back when I was a child, learning to me was memorising multiplication tables and grammar rules. That perception altered during my university years, when learning meant observing, researching, gaining experience through trial and error. I believe that it is the grand experience during my university days, which showed me that the time honoured custom of reading and remembering never did help me. I came to realise that learningis a mind altering process where, action during a mind engaging activity, begs you to learn, unlearn and re learn. I have also learnt through experience that learning cannot happen in a one size fits all approach. Each child has a combination of different intelligence and learning style (Howard Gardner). Some children would portray a balanced perspicacity, while others show certain dominating traits of intelligence. It is not up to the child to identify these traits and harness it. In fact the onus is on the teacher to identify and draw out the true potential of the learner, in a way the learner feels motivated and challenged. Traditional syllabi and formulaic methods of teaching aren t engaging and contradict many theories I ve learnt from this course. I believe that learning happens when the process is learner centred, wherein learners construct on previous knowledge (Bruner) with plenty of audio visual stimuli and the right amount of intervention from the facilitator (William Black), thus maximising the learning potential. Learning happens at one s own pace (Maria Montessori), that which is based on experience (John Dewey, Kolb s Experiential learning theory) and the learner should be encouraged to be curious enough to pursue bigger questions. I found some of the following teaching strategies to be of great value enhancing the learning process. Group work: Group work aids in students working together maximising their own and each other s learning (Johnson, Johnson Smith 1991). Group work allows productive in class discussions that can be successful in large classrooms. This has to follow with an exit card or a 3 2 1. This was also evident in my observation of EP, where the learners learnt from their peers and were confident to share with other peers thus making it a successful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Efficient and Sustainable Ecosystems Ecosystem Report: Introduction: Ecosystems are everywhere. Any place that contains living and non living organisms (biotic and abiotic), that share the same space are a community, this is called an ecosystem. An ecosystem can occupy a large space in the environment, or a very small space. To make up an ecosystem, there must be an interrelationship between the abiotic and biotic components in the ecosystem; for example, there must be a series of food chains in order for the different species to survive in that particular ecosystem. Another definition of an ecosystem is: They consist of all the organisms in a community, their biotic and abiotic environments, and exchanges within and between each of these (Knox et al. 2010, p. 128). The purpose of this investigation is to thoroughly study an ecosystem, to expand the knowledge of many who wish to further understand the environment and its components. By completing this investigation it allows for people to understand the importance and needs for having and maintaining healthy ecosystems. For example, Ecosystems provide food both in their natural state...in the form of managed landscapes (International Water Management Institute 2011, p. 11). The investigations of ecosystems are vital in today s society because people can learn how to better treat and take care of them so they are more efficient and sustainable. This ritual is symbolic, and an individual who performs Puja is offering the body, soul and all that there possess to the deity to receive what the goddess may have to offer. During puja, an individual seeks a connection with the goddess through the experience of Darshan. The ceremony is a personal devotion declaration of love and loyalty to a deity and establishes direct communication through mind and body. (Hamlet, prince of Denmark, 3.1.57) speech really shows who he is. Obviously Hamlet is horribly depressed. We have already seen several examples of this, but this speech gives us a clear picture of his sadness. More importantly however, his speech shows his weakness and indecisiveness. Hamlet is consistently melancholy, but he never really acts on it; he just kind of wallows around, full of self pity and loathing. Finally, it gives us Hamlet s reason for not committing suicide. It is not that he feels there is too much pain or strife in life, but that he is tired with dealing with it and exausted by his efforts. Hamlet says in this speech, in as plain of language as he can, that he is depressed and wants to die. But, he has said that before. This speech gives us our first clear indication as to his reason for craving death. More interestingly, Hamlet shows here his fundamental cowardice and fear. He has been going on for the whole play about how terrible his life is and how much pain and suffering he has had to endure, and he starts out the speech on this note. This is the first indication of his weakness. Hamlet it seems would rather bemoan his troubles than solve them. He goes on and on about his crappy life but rarely, if ever, even tries to do anything about it. Even in his desire for death he will speak but not act. He has wished for ceath at least ten times during the play, but when it comes right down to it Hamlet is to scared to act on his desire. He doesn t decide against suicide because of some noble realization (that life is far to precious to be wasted for example), he is just too scared of the afterlife. Through both symbolism and direct statements, the readers can understand the different struggles and motives of each character. Of Mice and Men shows the world through the perspective of many people from different backgrounds, including workers, women, the mentally ill, and colored people. [edit] Solution Once the Karnaugh Map has been constructed and the groups derived, the solution can be found by eliminating extra variables within groups using the axioms of boolean algebra. It can be implied that rather than eliminating the variables that change within a grouping, the minimal function can be derived by noting which variables stay the same. For the Red grouping: * The variable A maintains the same state (1) in the whole encircling, therefore it should be included in the term for the red encircling. * Variable B does not maintain the same state (it shifts from 1 to 0), and should therefore be excluded. * C does not change: it is always 0. Because C is 0, it has to be negated before it is included (thus, ). * D changes, so it is excluded as well. Thus the first term in the Boolean sum of products expression is For the Green grouping we see that A and B maintain the same state, but C and D change. B is 0 and has to be negated before it can be included. Thus the second term is In the same way, the Blue grouping gives the term The solutions of each grouping are combined into: [edit] Inverse The inverse of a function is solved in the same way by grouping the 0s instead. The three terms to cover the inverse are all shown with grey boxes with different colored borders: * brown * gold * ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Homosexuality In F. Scott Fitzgerald s Benjamin Button From Shakespeare s Hamlet, and predating further to Sophocles Peleus, the theme of a person being a man once and twice a child is often explored in literature. This idea of infancy being repeated during senility is consistently seen in F. Scott Fitzgerald s short story, Benjamin Button, as seen through the protagonist s life. Unconventionally, the story begins with the birth of Benjamin Button as an old manof around seventy as he is partly crammed into one of the cribs (Fitzgerald 2). This beginning of his life is mirrored with his end, where he resided in a white crib once again (unable to come out), creating a circular return of senile infancy to infancy (14). Button, as an old man, speaks to his father in a series of cries to have his needs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an elder, Button is reliant on and under the instruction of his father, where he begins by [taking his father s] hand trustingly and listening to his orders, like when Roger insisted in no uncertain terms that he should play with [the rattle] (5). Likewise, as a child Button is unable to care for himself and is under the care of his son, where Roscoe took both [, his son and Benjamin,] to kindergarten on the same day (13). There are other more detailed parallels, including Button s kindergarten experience where he [pasted] green paper on orange paper, [weaved] coloured maps, and [manufactured] eternal cardboard necklaces...He was inclined to drowse off to sleep during his senior years (6). As a child, Button [played] with...coloured paper, [made] mats, and chains] , which is almost exactly what he had done sixty years before (13). In conclusion, it is evident that the stages of senility and infancy are very similarly portrayed by Fitzgerald in this short story found through the dependency, roles, and habits both seem to share in the case of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chairman and Chief Executive of leading European pharmaceutical enterprises, Nourtis: Profit in pharmaceutical industries is not possible without patents and without patents innovation, research and development of new life saving drugs and medicines suffers (Winestock and Cooper, 2001, p. 1). Without incentive Research and Development (R amp;D) cannot be done, and this incentive is provided by strong IPRs. According to Grabowski, H. (2002) the total cost of doing researching and developing new drug along with the costs of capital and failed R amp;D is more than US$400 million. In the absence of strong implementation of IPRs and R amp;D costs, investors will not be ready to invest in R amp;D. According to Dam (1994, P. 247), the copping of intangible assets are very easy and this will result in free copying of innovation by imitators at a low cost. Patent which is one of the way of IPRs, helps to motivate innovation and R amp;D by giving assurance to innovator total and exclusive rights, these rights include manufacturing right, selling or maintaining, distributing or licensing to distribute the invention. If patent laws in not available in pharmaceutical market no investors will ready to do investment in R amp;D and the risk is so high that competitor will copy the good and services with less risky investment (Ryan and Shanebrook, 2004, pp. 15, 16). The main aim of Jordan s Patent Law before 1999, was availability of easily ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
