William Edwards Deming was born October 14, 1900 and he parish in December 20,
1993. He was well known for being an American statistician, professor, author,
lecturer, consultant and prodigious work in Japan, and in 1950 onward, he taught top
management how to improve their design, service, product quality, testing and sales
for low cost through the global markets. Some of his various methods, including the
application of statistical. According to Holusha (1991) he made a significant
contribution to Japan s later reputation for innovative high quality products and its
economic power. He is regarded as having had more impact upon Japanese
manufacturing and business than any other individual not of Japanese heritage.

After that, he earned his doctorate in mathematics and mathematical physics from
Yale University in 1928 (The Deming Institute, ibid). He had a series of government
and private jobs. In actual fact, his first job in the United State was in the Department
of Agriculture. The Deming Institute stated, It was there that Deming encountered
statistics and also met Walter Shewhart. Shewhart s ideas inspired Deming to apply
his knowledge of statistics to management and Deming s theory of management was
born (The Deming Institute, ibid). Deming led the foundation of the American
Society for quality Control, and he a Professor of Statistics at a well known
college, the New York University, and which he attend there in 1939. He was
recruited to work at the Bureau of the Census, while at the same time, teaching
statistics courses at the USDA Graduate School in Stanford. Throughout his
teaching, Deming revealed that quality can be improved only if top management is
part of the solution (The Deming Institute, ibid). Yet the fall of 1950, Deming took
his ideas for management role in to Japan where his vision was well received.
Japan had a worldwide reputation for being low down and cut price. But when

Dichotomy In Do The Right Thing
Do The Right Thing, directed by Spike Lee is a film that acts as a call to action for
the audience to differentiate what doing the right thing actually means. New York
City in 1989 was filled with issues of race and class. Crime rates were high and one
of the highest recorded in history only second to the preceding year of 1990. Cases
like the central park five where african americanyouths and other minorities were
falsely accused of crimes, caused for unjust views of the justice system designed to
protect these people as opposed to persecuting the innocent in the most blatant and
obvious ways. Along with false accusations within the system, New York City was
also filled with police brutality stories. The organization has collected information...

Malcolm s approach to racial injustices is that the solution is violence with
violence. While MLK s perspective is one of peace and assembly. This film uses
those contrasting community pillars to once again beg the question of what the
right thing is in a situation that asks an individual to choose. This major subtext
part of the film are prime examples of duality and dichotomy. Malcolm X is known
for his radical and violent views during the racist culture during the time of the
civil rights movement until he died. His philosophy never forgotten and was often
still practiced. He once said, Tactics based solely on morality can only succeed
when you are dealing with basically moral people or a moral system The morality
of the system is definitely tested during the 80s where as previously stated, the
system is constantly testing within the injustice of the justice system when it comes
to african americans. Malcolm X was a man of action and Buggin Out would be his
parallel. Throughout the film he is a character of action, when he decided to boycott
Sal s there is no stopping him, even after Jane tells him that his passion could be used
in more positive ways. He follows through with the boycotting and the audience can
see how violence affects the situation in the neighborhood as a
George Roy Hill s Slaughterhouse Five
Similar to many movies based on books, director George Roy Hill s movie strayed
away from Kurt Vonnegut s novel, Slaughterhouse Five. Vonnegut creatively begins
the novel as the narrator of the story, describing the development of writing his anti
war book taking place in Dresden the city that was bombed in 1945 during World War
II (Wicks 329). Vonnegut s prominent novel begins with a unique introduction
through engaging and strangely humorous chapters with recurring literary devices,
strong character development, and dark humor. As much detail as Vonnegut included
in his novel about time, life, death, and the illusion of free will, Hill s movie lacked
the depth in meaning of these major themes. Nevertheless, the 1970 s film visuals

When a Tralfamadorian sees a corpse, all he thinks is that the dead person is in a
bad condition in that particular moment, but that the same person is just fine in
plenty of other moments. Now when I myself hear that somebody is dead, I
simply shrug and say what the Tralfamadorians say about dead people, which is So
it goes (Vonnegut 34). This phrase is what builds Billy s character. By agreeing
with the Tralfamadorians and repeating So it goes after every mention of death,
Billy is choosing to accept death and move on. However, Vonnegut s philosophical
message is just that: death keeps life in motion, even the life of the novel
(McGinnis 59). So it goes eliminates the initial sorrow usually felt after death is
mentioned. Surprisingly, the phrase, So it goes is never heard in Hill s movie
production. Since So it goes is said so often in the book, the absence of the phrase
in the movie had a huge impact on the meaning of death. For example, after the
bombs destroyed Dresden, the American prisoners and a few German soldiers arose
from the bomb shelter underground to observe the destruction. The German soldier
boy dropped his gun instantly after seeing the damage and raced to a burning
building in hope of
Essay On How To Survive Middle School
So, you want to know how to survive middle school? Well I can help you. Being a
middle school student, you pick up a couple tricks along the way. Then sometimes
you can even find or hear tips, now a lot of the tips and tricks usually come from a
teacher, but you will discover some on your own that will make Middle School a bit
easier. Throughout my time as a middle school student, I have definitely found so
many tips and tricks. Now some tips and tricks are just plain sense, but you don t
always utilize these tips.

Being organized will help you so much throughout middle school. The main reason
to be organized is because it will make you feel less stressed. Let s say you just
stuff homework in your backpack when your backpack is already full of papers,
then the next day you will have so much stress rummaging through your backpack
for a single paper. Being prepared is essential. I have seen many people get written
up or even a detention because they forgot a book. Time management is key in
middle school. If you get homework from every class and it is all due the next day,
don t do it all at 10:00 PM, this is single handedly the worst thing you can do in
middle school. Also don t procrastinate. Now this falls under the same category as
time management, but this usually has to do with projects, not homework, Let s say
Mrs. Delucia gives you a project to do over Christmas break, don t wait until the
last weekend before we come back to school to do the whole science project, If you
do two things will happen, one, you will have a stress filled weekend and that is
not good. Number two, you usually won t get a good grade on the project because
you rushed the project that was meant to be done over a span of two weeks, and you
decided to do it in two

The man with the Donkey John Simpson Kirkpatrick the man with the donkey has
had an incredible involvement with Australia in the World War One. His life
leading up and during the war made contemporary Australia commemorate
Simpson because of his sacrifice and the significance of his involvement during
the war and his true Australian spirit. Simpson was born on 6 of July 1892 at
Shields in County Durham, Britain, (AWM.GOV, 2018), He had a very tough
upbringing with his family. John dropped out of Barnes and Mortimer Roads
School at the age of 11 and became a milk boy for four years to help out his mother
(Refer to figure 1). This was the start of Simpson`s characteristics as a true
Australian (SMH.COM.au.national, 2018). John also supplemented his family s
meagre income by working. Each summer at Murphy s fair, John provided donkey
rides for the children for a penny a ride. (Anzachouse.com, 2018). On February 12,

and diary entries. In one of his letter to his mother Simpson describes his emotions
on war as he knows men should not envy them as war was not what anybody had
first imagined and once they hit reality they are confronted with something else
(Refer to figure 2). John landed in Gallipoli with the covering force on the 25th of
April 1915 (Refer to figure 3). John shows empathy towards his family and shows
annoyance though this last letter that they did not get to go to England (Refer to

Anzac Cove at 4.30 am in the early morning of 25 April 1915. They landed under a
blast of fire, but luckily Simpson was not one of the causalities. In one of Simpson s
dairy entries, there was a sadden paragraph that shows how he truly felt during the
war, and what he meant through it highlights the companionship and faithfulness of

LEGAL COMMITTEE Burundi s Position on the Legal Aspects of Odious Debt
Introduction
Burundi, one of the world s smallest nations, has just emerged from a 12 year
ethnic based civil war. The war started in 1993 and just ended in 2005, which then
caused an alteration in the government political system to take on a democratic
form. They are now in process of peace although they are still in the struggle of
reviving their shattered economy and forging national unity. Burundi is a landlocked
island surrounded by the Democratic republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
Burundi s GDP per capita is about $139, and only 18% of the population has food
security. Due to its poor economy, Burundi is at this moment burdened by huge debts
and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To resolve this problem many organizations were formed to help developing countries
that are in huge non payable debt situations through debt cancellation. Through this
program, many of Burundi s debts have been cancelled. Other countries have also
done these debts cancellations. This program has helped many countries in financial
problems and made it more possible for them to keep building their country and
developing.
External Debts of Burundi
Debt is a major issue in Burundi. External debts are owed from other countries and
now we are struggling to pay our debts, although we are already helped through the
debt cancellation program that had cut our debts immensely. In 2003, Burundi s
external debts reached the number $1.140.000.000 and kept increasing until over
the next 6 years. In 2009, the amount of Burundi s external debts was
$1.200.000.000. These are the total of public and private debts owed to
nonresidents repayable in foreign currency, goods, and services. Burundi is heavily
dependent on bilateral and multilateral aid, with external debt totaling US$1.4
billion in 2004. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) was suspended during the
outbreak of violence in 1993. Then, the IMF reengaged with Burundi in 2002 and
again in 2003 with post conflict credits. In 2004, IMF approved $104 million of loan
for Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility.

The Relationship Between Density And Sugar Content
The Relationship Between Density and Sugar Content

Lab Performed 03/11/15 Lab Report 04/07/15
Abstract:
Using solutions of sugar and water alongside cola, density and percent sugar can be
related. The purpose of this lab is to discover how and with what benefit these factors
can be related. Using assorted measurements and the standard curve of the calculated
densities and percentages of sugar solutions, it was learned that cola has an
approximate percent sugar of four percent, according to the calculations of the lab.
Other results included actual percent sugar of soda and various statistics on measured
sugar solutions. Introduction
The purpose of this lab is to explore how density can be used to measure sugar
content and percent sugar of beverages not only in the lab, but in the real world.
Using the standard curve of the percent sugar and density of the solutions in the lab,
the percent sugar of regular Coke was determined. The standard curve represented
the general trend in the correlation of the values calculated in the lab. Using the data
from the experiment, the actual amount of sugar in the soda could be calculated by
using the percent sugar found by using the standard curve. (If the soda has a mass of
x and the percent sugar is the value y, x в—Џ y = mass of sugar.)
Of course, the simple calculation of percent sugar dividing the mass of the sugar by
the mass of the solution can be

Yesterday the music world lost one of the great singer songwriters. With the loss of
Guy Clark, Country music lost of one of its moorings to true originality and
authenticity. While I certainly can t claim to be an authority on Guy Clarks works, I
ve heard his songs enough to appreciate the depth and poetryof his lyrics. I had the
good fortune to be contracted to write for one of EMI publishing s joint ventures in
the early nineties. And If I m not mistaken, Mr. Clark was a writer at EMI publishing
during this time as well. One of the factors that added to the excitement of writingon
music row in those days was the possibility of meeting or even catching a glimpse
of a songwriting giant like him. And no; sadly, I haven t had the pleasure of
meeting Guy Clark. I did however pour my cup of coffee from the same pot as he
in the EMI writer s lounge one cold winter morning! That may not sound like much

similarities; however diluted, between yourself and a legend like Guy (I can call
him that because after all... we did share a coffee pot).... Show more content on

Essay Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis is a complex, autoimmune disease caused by damage of the fatty
myelin sheaths around axons of the brain and spinal cord which leads to
demyelination, lesions (scaring) and inflammation1, 2, 3. This damage leads to
disruption of nerve impulse along axons resulting in the many symptoms seen in
multiple sclerosispatients. Although its exact etiology is unknown, current research
indicates that multiple sclerosis is a complex combination of genetic and
environmental factors. It has been established that multiple sclerosis is not inherited
but research is being focused on genetic influence and suceptibility3. Like many other
diseases with genetic components to their etiology, disease risk for multiple sclerosis
can be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Results are consistent with the IL2/IL2R pathway in its role of controlling
autoimmunity since the IL2/IL2R pathway controls immunity through proliferation
and survival of T cells. In addition this pathway maintains peripheral T cell tolerance,
which, when not kept in check by regulatory T cells will result in autoimmunity
leading to damage of the myelin sheaths around axons. Reduced function of
regulatory T cells has been detected in multiple sclerosis patients1, pointing to
reduced function of the IL2/IL2R pathway due to genotypic variation.
A similar study investigating the genetic role of IL7/IL7RA pathway in multiple
sclerosis susceptibility was conducted through genotyping and statistical analysis of
genotypic distributions, in multiple sclerosis patients and controls, who were
matched ethnically, by gender and age. Results show that polymorphisms in IL7 not
only indicate statistically significant association with the disease but higher estimated
genotype relative risks as well2. The IL7/ILRA pathway is involved in development,
maturation and survival of T and B cells, contributing to the body s immune system2.
Autoimmune response can result from the modified function of the pathway due to
genetic variation of IL7 or IL7RA genes. Results of the study show that genetic
variations in the IL7/IL7RA play an important role not only in the
A Brief Note On Flood Re A Joint Insurance Industry And...
Flood Re is a joint insurance industry and government sponsored scheme which is
the first of its kind in the entire world, it will become effective on 4th April 2016
with the purpose of enabling those homeowners with households in areas at high
risk of flooding to afford insurance. It is not a direct product which can be purchased
by consumers, it can be described as more of a behind the scenes third party which
collaborates with current insurers. FloodRe will be a reinsurance company for current
insurers to insure themselves against losses caused by flooding, however it will be
funded by existing insurers.
The idea is to reduce premiums and excesses for those in flood prone areas, so those
who find it hard to get insured will now be able to take out insurance cover with
providers such as Aviva, whereas beforehand they were unable to obtain such
insurance or were reluctant to pay the high premiums. The preferred outcome is to
see a transition from the current market to a market where flood insurance is
available to everyone at affordable prices long after the existence of Flood Re.
However, to what extent the scheme is effective can be questioned extensively, there
are many exclusions involved with the scheme and questions have been raised about
the spending of flood defences rather than the introduction of such a scheme. Flood
Re has been established to last for 25 years, but is this long enough to solve the
flooding issues? These issues will be analysed throughout this
Oliver Road Survey
On 03/08/2017 Deputies were dispatched to the area of 120th Ave and Oliver Road
for a traffic complaint. The reporting party advised a vehicle was parked near the
tracks and when a train approached three occupants got out of their vehicle and
stood in the roadway. Other deputies were en route to this call when another call
came out and other units were needed elsewhere. After finishing with my current
assignment I responded to this call. At approximately 16:43 hours I arrived in the
area of 120th Ave and Oliver Road. Once I turned east I saw a blue truck parked in
the roadway. As I approached the vehicle I noticed three people sitting the
guardrail to the railroad crossing arm. I approached the three and asked them to
step away from the tracks and towards me. The three did so without hesitation. A
male, who I know from previous encounters as Richard Wayne Hamilton, asked
why the Sheriff s Office was called when they weren t doing anything wrong. I
explained to Richard that his vehicle was blocking the lane of travel and when I
approached they were trespassing on railroad property. Richard stated he was not
trespassing as the group had been given permission by BNSF Police given that they
were not parked on the tracks and were clear of the tracks as trains were traveling
through the area. I told Richard I would contact BNSF Police and verify this

Examples Of Pre-Modern World War Strategies
Pre modern World War Strategies
As human beings stepped into a new phase of civilizations, many wars have
occurred between different people, and the wars were not surely out of violence.
The sources that we have used so far for this course are all about the wars in pre
modern world. According to Sun Tzu, supreme excellence is an important thing in the
battles because it can be helpful to break down the enemies without fighting (Part III,
2), by which he means to fight skillfully rather than military campaigns. Hence, in this
paper, I will be going through the theme of strategy in different sources, and I will
analyze and explain some different strategies that were mentioned in the sources.
Some strategies were meant to avoid the wars, and some were to prepare and
operate wars. They were building cities in suitable positions, staying away from
powerful cities wars, and keeping peace with those who were powerful, choosing

In this regard, in his commentary on The Art of War, Tu Mu stated a dramatic
example which made him somehow unreliable because he was a poet, so some
people would think that he could be exaggerating the events that happened at his
time. However, we could depend on him for our purpose of finding out how
tricking tactics affected the wars. He has said in the text that in a war Sun Pin
tricked P ang Chuan by showing 100,000 fires on the first night, 50,000 on the next,
and the night after only 20,000 meant to him that their number has decreased
significantly. After that, he has showed him a strong body of archers in ambush ,
and when he got there, they shot P ang Chuan arrows and killed him. This was a
good example of tricking the enemies in order to damage them and their
The Global Financial Crisis Of Broward College
Research Paper: The Global Financial Crisis
Michelle Beira
Broward College
There have been few financial crises in the United States. The Global Financial
Crisis of 2008 to 2009 was the most recent and before that was The Great
Depression of the 1930s. The Global Financial Crisis actually began in 2007 when
prices of homes tanked. It not only affected the U.S. but it also affected economies
overseas. The entire investment banking industry, some of the biggest insurance
companies, enterprises government used for mortgage lending, top mortgage lenders,
the largest savings and loan companies, and two of the largest commercial banks
were many of the financial sectors affected by the crisis. Banks stopped making loans,
share prices plunged throughout the world and most of the world plummeted into a
recession (The Financial Crisis of 2008: Year In Review 2008, 2009, para. 1).
Globalization of financial markets began after the Depression and World War II. After
the Great Depression and World War II there was much physical and economic ruin
in Europe, Asia and parts of Africa which allowed the U.S. to become a leader in
the world financial system. Top world leaders like France, Germany, Britain and
Japan were economically and financially unstable. The U.S. was the only stable
capitalist country which means it was capable of determining the terms of a new
world economic order ( The 2008 World Economic Crisis: Global Shifts and
Faultlines, 2009, para. 34). The first task in
Analysis Of The Poem Where The Sidewalk Ends
Shel Silverstein is a notable writer, made famous for his poems that were geared
towards children. One of his most famous poems, Where the Sidewalk Ends shares
the title with what may be his most well known book. This poem is a very
meticulously worded work, and although it may be published in a children s book, it
can be understood and very meaningful to older generations. This piece has a depth
and wisdom that may be well beyond the comprehension of young minds, and it can
be interpreted and analyzed in many ways and can reveal a variety of themes. When
first reading this short poem, the initial theme that stands out to me, personally is the
idea of the change that occurs during aging. It seems that the stark contrast between
the imagery of the first stanza, versus the second stanza reveals the dramatic
difference between childhood and adulthood. Childhood can be thought of as more
gentle, airy, and even innocent. The third lineof the first stanza says the grass grows
soft and white... (Silverstein, n.d.). This gives that notion of gentleness, and
innocence associated with childhood. Many think of the color white and associate it
with innocence, maybe because of their religious practices. Religious imagery
sometimes depicts heavenly beings in white robes, possibly surrounded by white
wisps of clouds or white rays of light. The word soft is also associated with
gentleness. Many would imagine the soft grass, and think back to a time in their
childhood on a

Academic Achievement And Advancement For Students
Educators and school administrators have the largest responsibility of promoting
academic achievement and advancement for all students, regardless of their cultural
background. Throughout the United States, schools enroll students with different
academic levels and cultural backgrounds. As of 2011, African Americanchildren
embodied 16% of the public schoolpopulation in the United Statesand Muslim
children, less than 3% (National Center for Education Statistics). Keeping this in
mind, students from cultural minorities can be at risk of academic failure due to the
environment they are raised in. As schools educate such a vast array of students, it is
crucial that educators and support staff be competent in working with a diverse group
of students. School counselors, personnel, and educators need to be able to
collaborate with students in helping them reach their potential in academics, social
skills, future planning, as well as mental health concerns (NCES, 2009). It is
imperative that school counselors are informed and understand the cultural values
and beliefs of minority groups in order to help students achieve academic and
personal success.
Discussion
Schools within the United States are progressively becoming more culturally diverse.
Because of this, it is critical that educators and school personnel are aware of the
difficulties and types of support individual students from diverse cultural backgrounds
may need. Research has shown that minority groups are
My Identity, Status And My Worldview
Different personality, believes, identity and behavior makes a person unique.
Identity is one s self representation in the world. Who I am, really makes up my
identity. Personal traits make me appear towards the world. My worldview
incorporates of different concepts and suppositions. It helps to decode my issues in
my life. As I continue to evolve, my identity, status and my worldview shape me.
My family and my faith status makes my life worthwhile. It s the love and
relationship that keeps me bounded together with my family. Without a family I
am absolutely nothing because they have helped me through hard times and
supported me. As being the oldest child of the family I was always appreciated and
praised for doing remarkable things in my daily life. In grade 8, I had final exams
and during that period of time I was sick with high fever. I was not in a state to
prepare for the exams which caused hopelessness and stress, although my parents
supported me and encouraged me to write the exam on the bases of the things I
have learned the entire year. Their brace made me successful and I got straight A s
on the exams. Family status is as important in life as eating food on regular bases.
My family is always ready to support and sacrifice their happiness for me. They
complete my world, thus it makes me confined to my family status. In addition to
family status, which makes up most of my status and identity is my faith status. Inner
faith makes me enthusiastic towards life. Just the

Time Is Time Essay
THE TRUTH ABOUT TIME
The strongest of all the warriors are these two time and patience: Leo Tolstoy
TIME IS LIFE:
First I will elaborate on the concept of time. Time is the most valuable resource that
any person can possess. Time equals life.
I know that this sounds simple but most people don t realize the significance of either
time or life. That is, your time in this world starts from the moment you came in this
world and it ends the moment you stop breathing.
So, what is meant by the statement that your time is over it actually means your life
is over. Therefore, time is life.
Significance of time in relation to life:
Time like any other resource is depleting very fast, therefore, its up to the individual
himself that he utilizes it both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dimensions/classification of time:
One important thing to remember especially for people who believe that time is
always at their disposal is that time wasted will never come back. This signifies the
importance that time can be explained in three ways: past, present and future.
While remembering the past or dreaming about the future is good, sometimes, the
best way to make use of your time is living in the present or living in the moment.
You see that you can do nothing about your past, its already gone plus it will never
come back but the next best thing to do is learn lessons from your past, whether it be
learning from your mistakes or learning from your failures.
Build your future, realize your dreams:
Also, stop worrying about the future, nobody in this universe has control over their
future plus nobody knows where they will end up or what will happen tomorrow.
But still that doesn t mean that you forget your dreams, your future; what it means
is that you build your future, one day at a time. So, if you want to be successful
plus live the life of your dreams, focus your energies by putting your heart and soul
into your work on daily

Discourse Organization on Asian Fashion Blogs
Chapter 1
Discourse Organization of Asian Fashion Blogs
Introduction
Background of the study
Blogging has emerged as one of the most popular forms of online discourse. The
ease and lack of expense in setting blogs has raised intriguing possibilities for
language learning in social media. The unique nature of its architecture and its low
cost have not only affected how different bloggers can publish and distribute their
work to a wider audience but also how they see themselves as writers. According to
Blood (2002), blogs have been used in various ways: as online journals, a means of
designing hypertexts, and more radically, to create what calls the first native form of
discourse on the internet. She argues that blogging best reflects ... Show more content

To enrich further the structure of each blog, genre analysis will also be considered.
This may identify if fashion blogging belongs in a specific genre by studying how
the ESL and EFL bloggers use the language when writing.
The focus of this study is on the discourse organization of Asian fashion blogs.
Considering their writing style, comparing the blogs of these particular Asian
countries that are categorized into two groups will be done throughout the study.
Statement of the problem
This study aims to answer the following questions: 1. What are the structures of a
fashion blog? 2. What are the similarities and the differences between the fashion
blogs of ESL and EFL writers?
Significance of the study

As the traditional way of analysing language data from academic institutions, this
paper will thoroughly investigate the language used in fashion blogs. This will

Calcific Aortic Valve Essay
The heart valves physiological purpose is to maintain unidirectional, non obstacle
flow of blood and mitral and aortic valves are in charge of pumping the blood,
experiencing intense pressure, and supporting higher biomechanical stress than
pulmonary and tricuspid. 5 Therefore, they are more affected by pathologies and
degenerative processes while alterations in pulmonary or tricuspid valves are less
common and mainly related with genetic or fetal defects.
Diseases of native aortic valves have been linked to mechanical factors, for
example, the sclerotic lesions that occur in calcific aortic valve disease occur
preferentially in the subendothelial space on the aortic side of the leaflet, a region
that is exposed to low shear stress and disturbed ... Show more content on

Recent studies demonstrate convincingly that aortic sclerosis is not a passive,

inflammation and active calcification 11 because relies on the activation of pro

The Role Of Friar Lawrence In Shakespeare s Romeo And
Juliet
In the Shakespearean classic, Romeo and Juliet, published for modern use by the
Folger Shakespeare Library, William Shakespeare, the writer of the tragedy, makes
statements about social interactions during a period of time so that they may be
recorded historically in an intriguing way. The focus of the excerpt is on the
speech and recollection of Friar Lawrence s perspective of the events that have
taken place. Romeo has just discovered Juliet unconscious and ends his life for
Juliet, who soon awakens and finds her lover dead, and ends her life to be reunited
with her lover and to share the same fate. Friar Lawrence s involvement in the
scheme to prevent sinful events from taking place has been given to the parents of

The Friar reflects on his actions stating, Then I gave her (so tutored by my art) a

The Bill Of Rights By James Madison And Influenced By...
The setting in which the bill of rights was written by James Madison and influenced
by George Mason was the United State of America in the late seventeen hundreds.
The bill of rights has many differences from an amendment. The constitution is the
bases of the bill of rights. The federalist and the anti federalist had different views in
which the bill of rights came into play. Many people in the United States did not want
a government that reflected the England government. One will look at what is the bill
of rights, what is an amendment, and how the two differ.
What is the bill of rights? What is an amendment? How are they Different?

A quote from Thomas Jefferson said that a bill of rights is what a people are entitled
to against every government on earth, general or particular, and what no just
government should refuse or rest on inference (Schweikart). One would think that
Jefferson was a wise man for saying this. His words were powerful. Many people felt
this way and the American people did not want a corrupt government that was only
for the rich. During the writing of the bill of right there were the Federalist and the
anti federalist the two were in disagreement of whether the ten amendments should be
added. The Federalist felt as if the constitution was already completed and nothing
should be added, although the anti federalist felt that the people s rights should be set
in stone, and some things needed to be added to the constitution to reassure the
people. The anti Federalist wanted to change the wording of the United States
Constitution. The Federalist disagreed and said that no one had the right to change the
United States constitution and that the bills should be reviewed and added on to the
constitution. The House voted to accept the Bill of Rights on September 24, 1789,
with the Senate concurring the following day. (Bingham) The bill of rights was there
to ensure that the people followed the rules and that the government could not invade
their rights. Apparently, the first 10 amendments officially became part of the

Mohandas Gandhi vs. Martin Luther King Jr.
Mohandas Gandhi vs. Martin Luther King Jr. People all over the world know that
Mohandas Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. did great things in their life times.
But which one was more effective during his time? The answer to this question is
somewhat biased, usually depending on your race, geographical location, and if you
or someone you know has directly experienced the effects of the actions of these
men. An Indian would choose Mohandas Gandhi over Martin Luther King Jr. without
even thinking about it. African Americans are going to choose Martin Luther King

The petition was presented to the Assembly after only one month. This cause
became obvious that it wasn t only for the Indian s right to vote but for their
survival as a community in Natal. The majority of Indians had just stayed in South
Africa after their time as slaves on plantations or in mines ended. These men were
about to have to pay a tax of twenty five pounds, an amount they couldn t pay.
Gandhi appealed to the Viceroy of India, the Colonial Secretary in London, and to
Naoroji, the Indian member of Parliament (Coolidge 44). He registered as an
advocate before Natal s Supreme Court, wrote articles, gave speeches, and even
removed his turban while the court was in session. Though he could not win voting
privileges for immigrants from India, he did retain the power to vote for those
Indians already on the voting lists. Unfortunately, Gandhi s hard work did not abolish
the tax but he managed to get it reduced to three pounds, still only some could pay
this. More important than these two achievements was the Natal Indian Congress.
This was a permanent organization with an educational branch and it was available to
the poor. Its wide availability exposed the organization to the masses. After his
accomplishments in South Africa Gandhi returned to India. A pivotal moment in
India s struggle for independence came on March 12, 1930. This two hundred mile,

to be one of Russia s greatest battles in which the Russian army defended itself from

advance into Russian territory. This marked a huge turning point in the war for the
Allies. It was a very important war because it crippled the German offensive as well
as destroying much of its army. The German army lead the offensive into Stalingrad

Still, from Berlin, Hitler ordered the army to continue the fight and promised
General Paulus that reinforcements would be sent. The Russian army would not
give up. They trapped the weakened Germans in the city. In January, General
Paulus sent a message to Hitler requesting permission to surrender. He knew any
victory was impossible and the only thing certain for the Germans was death.
Hilter denied his requesting saying that the German army had to stand firm until
the last man. Hitler s pride was one of the biggest reasons the German s lost to
Russia. Had he let his men retreat, regroup and fortify themselves they would have
stood a much better chance. Hitler was operating solely on an out of control ego at
that point and not rational thought. On January 31, General Paulus surrendered to
the Russian army. Hitler was furious with Paulus. The German s defeat at the battle
of Stalingrad was the beginning of the end of the Nazi regime. Hitler s control over
his army and his army s confidence in him was extremely weakened. All over
Germany morale had sunk. During this time, Hitler made many false promises to the
people of Germany. One being that they would never be driven out of Stalingrad.
After their complete and utter annihilation at Stalingrad, the German public s opinion
of Hitler definitely took a turn for the worse. Hitler lost face both his military

Three Key Components Of Albert Bandura s Social
Learning...
Another theory that is relevant to the study is Albert Bandura s (1977) Social
Learning Theory. Unlike the experiential learning theory which is more focused on
how the environment affects the behaviour of the individual, the social learning
theory is based on the idea that we learn from our interactions with others in a social
context. Separately, by observing the behaviors of others, people tend to develop
similar behaviors. New concepts of social learningare being formulated as new trends
in distance education programs emerge. The rise in popularity of these programs
continues to increase the physical distance between educators and students (Smith
Berge, 2009). There are three key components to Bandura s social learning theory...

First, observational learning is where learners observe behaviors by others in order
to start the learning process. Bandura s second and third stages of social learning;
imitation and behavior modeling, will occur if a person observes positive, desired
outcomes in the first stage. If, for example, an instructor attends and observes a
course in world and is entertained, informed, and approves of the way students act,
they are more likely to want to teach a course in world themselves. They can then use
the behavior they experienced to imitate and model other instructors
Continuing Resolution
Guidance for operating under a continuing resolution not only comes from the GAO,
but also from individual agencies. Some agencies have provided guidance on
operating under a continuing resolution which range from highly elaborate to more
ad hoc. One such agency that provides guidance is The Office of Management and
Budget (OMB). This guidance is normally produced on an annual basis in Circular
No. A 11 which, in part, covers operations under a continuing resolution. Also, the
OMB issues supplemental bulletins to provide additional guidance. To alleviate any
risk of violating the new start prohibitions, the Circular No. A 11 and OMB s
occasional bulletins should be consulted during a continuing resolution.
Likewise, the DoD Finance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Freaks And Geeks Case Study
Between the Gilmore Girls reboot and the Full House spin off, our childhood is

case the company is looking for more content to work with, here are 11 other great
shows that Netflix should consider reviving. 1. Freaks and Geeks This sounds like
an obvious choice, but after only one season from 1999 to 2000, Freaks and Geeks
continues to be a cult classic today. The show s Executive Producer Judd Apatow
teased the possibility, so maybe someone at Netflix should give him a call. If not,
there are always the original episodes. 2. Hellcats Maybe it was just a guilty

With a great cast of characters (especially the obnoxious James Van Der Beek) and
plenty of storylines and other material to be explored, this show would definitely
be worth picking up for Netflix. I would trust Netflix with this one. 8. Red Band
Society This was another show that, despite its low ratings, people were upset
when Fox pulled the plug. Many people petitioned to try and save the show, so
they would probably flock to Netflix if it was continued there. 9. Terminator: The
Sarah Connor Chronicles Who doesn t love the Terminator movies? This was a
great spin off series with a lot of potential, hence its high ratings in its first year on
the air. Yet it wasn t renewed for season 3 good job Fox. Netflix could be the
reason for the third season. 10. Ugly Betty This revival would work more like the
Gilmore Girls one an update to see where everyone is and what they re doing now.
Where is Betty working now? Is she running her own magazine? Is she still
considered ugly? And what became of Mode after most of the main characters left it?

Theme Of Virginia Woolf s To The Lighthouse
Virginia Woolf s To the lighthouse has many themes that can be discussed,
especially those related to art, life, reality and time. Some critics argue that there is
a life art relationship in the novel, perceived relations of equivalence between
emotional experience and aesthetic (con)figuration, between life on the one hand,
and shape, trope, structure on the other (Koppen, 375). However, one must analyze
the novel in order to find if it can be true what these critics say. If it is true that there
is an art s relation to life in this novel, how did Virginia Woolf
express this relation in
the novel? Which characters represent better this relationship? In the present essay, it
will be discussed if there is such a relationship between art... Show more content on

Ramsay s death, there is a transition from life to art and this transition is represented
in part II, which is faster than the other two parts and in which one can see the
passage of ten years represented especially in the decay of the house. After this
transition, in part III, Lily, who represents art, becomes the main character. In this
part, one finds the effort that Lily makes to transform her vision of life and the
world into art and the aesthetic problems she has with it. She decides to continue
with the painting she started. There is an evolution of her vision from the beginning
of the novel until the end. In the beginning, she cannot make sense of her art, but in
the end, she fills her vision and she is capable of finishing the painting. She has
been an observer of the Ramsay family, especially of Mrs. Ramsay through the
entire novel, but it s at the end when she attains her vision. She is capable to see Mrs.
Ramsay in the past and in the present. When she finishes her painting, Mr. Ramsay,
Cam and James arrive to the lighthouse and James can see it and her father, who has
changed through those ten years. At this point, it is easier to see the relation of life
and art. There is no life without art, but art can never be void of life, because it is
connected in so many ways with the experiencing body (388). Also, it is important to
notice that Lily attains her vision at its fullest, but it is conditional on the body and
the physical experience, that is,
Cain And Abel Research Paper
Abel was killed by his older brother Cain. Genesis 4 shares the adult lives of
brothers, Cain and Abel. Cain and Abel were sons of Adam and Eve; however,
Cain became very jealous and envious of his younger brother, Abel. The motive of
Cain s jealousy towards his brother, Abel, derived from Abel s worship offering
being accepted by God, their Creator. Abel s offering to God was from the yield of
the first fruit of his flock. Cain also provided a worship offering to God.
Nonetheless, Cain s presented offering wasn t acceptable. Hence, an envious spirit
became birthed within Cain, and Cain murdered his brother, Abel, because God
accepted Abel s worship offering but didn t accept Cain s offering. God became
displeased with Cain and vowed that the ground would no longer yield its fruit
towards Cain. In other words, God is not honored with murder.... Show more content

Moses died at an old age of 120 years old. When Moses died, he was still quite
strong in his strength and vision. Moses posture was likely still very erect. Indeed
his mind was still strong, and God allowed Moses to see all the land that He would
give to the descendants of Abraham. Moses eyesight was so strong at 120 years old
that he could clearly see far into the western sea and as far as Zoar. God loved
Moses so much that He wanted Moses to at least see the Promised Land even
though Moses would not get an opportunity to enter into it. God buried Moses
Himself when he died, but He wouldn t allow anyone to know where Moses burial
was located. After Moses death, the Israelites grieved, wept and mourned for Moses

She was born into a family of a long line of royal decedents. She became Queen at
the age of twenty four. She was the first women to be on an US commutative coin.

For that reason it brought peace to the land ( Isabella of Castile par1). Five years
after their marriage, Henry died on December 10, 1474. Days later Isabella
became Queen of Castile. Everything was great in Castile and Aragon till
Ferdinand s father died in 1479. Isabella and Ferdinand where then named King
and Queen of Aragon ( Isabella of castile par 18). During their rein as King and
Queen they had five children. They had four daughters, Juana, Catherine, Maria,
and Isabella. In their life they only had one son, John. Sadly he died at a young
age in 1497 (Foster 32). They now had a tough decision for who would be the heir
to the throne. After a long while they chose Juana because her son was born on the
eve of St. Mathis (Foster 285). Seven years after her son died, Isabella died on
November 1504. She died in Medina del Campo due to an unknown reason. Later
after her husband died he was laid to rest with her in Alhambra ( Queen Isabella I

the things she is known for is the Spanish Inquisition. An Inquisition is a hunt to find

person who told Isabella that she could not run a country with religious differences. In

The Maoree Culture Of Traditional Maori Culture In The...
The characters in the film Whale Rider choose how they will incorporate
traditional Maori culture into their modern life. Whale Rider is set in a small New
Zealand coastal village inhabited by Maoris who claim descent from Paikea, the
Whale Rider. For 1,000 years a male heir of the Chief has become leader of the
tribe. At the beginning of the film, the wife of Porourangi, the Chief s eldest son,
dies in childbirth along with the male twin she was carrying. The surviving child, a
girl, is given the name of Pai, the traditional name given to the male child.
Porourangi is grief stricken and departs for Europe, leaving Pai to be brought up
by her grandparents, Koro and Nanny Flowers. Koro loves Pai, but won t accept
her as Chief. He is convinced that the troubles of the tribe are attributable to Pai
aspiring to be leader. He tries unsuccessfully to train the other boys in the tribe for the
role. Far out at sea a school of whales respond to Pai s calls for guidance. They swim
to the village but become beached. Symbolically the tribe will die. Only Pai is
willing to make the sacrifice to save her people, and because of this Koro accepts her
leadership. Koro refuses to accept Pai as leader despite her repeatedly showing
herself to be more capable than any of the boys. We see her challenging the old
ways, and undertaking the gruelling demands of traditional warrior practice. It is
she who goes into the sea to bring back Koro s prize possession. The casting of
Comparing Poems And Driving Late At Night
A respected American poet, William Stafford, is known for poems set outdoors on
mountainsides, roadsides or near rivers. In Stafford s, Traveling Through the Dark
, the setting is a rural road at nighttime in which the narrator describes finding a
dead deer on the road. Stafford describes the speaker s difficulty in deciding how to
proceed after finding the deer and eventually tells us that the deer is pushed into
the river. W.D.Snodgrass takes Stafford s poem and decomposes it into Driving
Late at Night . Like Stafford s poem, Snodgrass sets the action of his poem at night
and similarly has the narrator finding a dead animal on the road. In Snodgrass s
version the animal is also moved, however, it is thrown over a cliff rather than being
pushed into the river. The two poems are similar in that the speaker is driving at
night and both reference finding something dead on the road. Additionally, both
poems mention the difficult decision that has to be made regarding the movement of
the dead animal. The poems, although similar in theme, are very different in
wording, imagery and morality. Stafford s poem is superior to Snodgrass s in many
ways through his use of strong... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stafford moves away from talking about the deer and talks about the car, its lights
and its exhaust. The car seems to become alive as its lights are lowered possibly
meaning that the car was sad. Additionally, the engine purred and the exhaust was
warm, seemingly indicating that the car was alive. The reader can almost hear the
sound of the car and feel its warmth. Stafford again tells us that he had a difficult
decision to make when he says, I thought hard for all of us , indicating he still
struggled with the morality of the situation. Snodgrass s poem uses very little
imagery as it tells an everyday story about errands that need to be run. He seems to
make a decision about what to do with the dead animal much more
Necrotizing Enterocolitis Case Study
Diagnosis and Treatment of Necrotizing Enterocolitis By Jonas Wilson, Ing. Med.
Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), the most common infantile gastrointestinal
emergency, is one of the most challenging conditions encountered by pediatric
surgeons. It manifests as intestinal ischemia and inflammation and occurs in up to 3
in every 1000 live births. While the exact cause is unknown, there is a strong
predominance amongst premature babies and those who are formula fed. Infants at
risk include those below 1000 g weight at birth and those with low Apgar scores as
well as cardiac or gastrointestinal abnormalities. Maternal risk factors are the use of
cocaine, infections and hypertension during gestation. The integrity of the bowel wall
in NEC is compromised, which leads to bacteria entering... Show more content on

Ultrasound may also be used for diagnostic purposes. Abdominal X rays confirm
NEC by illustrating the presence of gas in the bowel wall and/ or cavity secondary
to perforation. However, only half to 75% of patients with perforation will have
free gas visible on X ray. Seen on the abdominal radiographs are often asymmetrical
dilated bowel loops and intramural gas, also known as pneumatosis intestinalis.
Portal venous gas may also be seen and if there is perforation of the bowel wall
(i.e. pneumoperitoneum) then bilateral bowel wall air is seen, called Rigler sign.
There is also a Football sign that occurs due to the falciform ligament being outlined
by air. Ultrasound may show thickening of the bowel wall and changes to the
vasculature. The vasculature is hypervascular in the early stage of NEC, but it soon
becomes hypovascular in the later stage. Furthermore, intramural gas is seen as
hyperechoic and if there is perforation, then free fluid containing echogenic material
can be visualized.
Yeats Essay
W.B Yeats Essay
Write an essay in which you give your reasons for liking/not liking the poetry of W.B
Yeats. Support your points by reference to or quotation from, the poems that are on
your course.
In my opinion and from the sample of his poetry which I have studied, I would say
that the poetry of W.B Yeats is very enjoyable to read. The themes of his poems are
often easily identified with and his simple style of writing makes his poetry easy to
interpret and understand. Although easily engaging with the themes of his poetry
contributes to my liking of Yeats poetry, it is his gift of writing that has an impact on
me. His use of powerful contrasts and breath taking imagery easily make Yeats one of
the greatest poets of the twentieth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a strong contrast in this poem between the old, weary, lonely poet and the
apparently ever youthful, energetic and powerful swans. Yeats journey to
Byzantium in Sailing to Byzantium is due to the fact that he wishes to become
immortal, to flee the dreaded progression of ageing. He rejects Ireland as it is no
country for old men and criticizes those who get too caught up in the wonders of
life and who have no concerns about growing old Caught in that sensual music all
neglect, Monuments of unageing intellect . The poet claims that one, namely, an
aged man , can only break free from the spell of ageing if he is allow his spirit to
break free A tattered coat upon a stick, unless soul clap its hands and sing and
louder sing . Yeats obviously wants to bypass old age and become immortal in this
poem and begs the sages to allow him to break away from his body, a dying animal ,
and to gather him into the artifice of eternity . In both The Wild Swans at Coole and
Sailing to Byzantium, a strong contrast is made. However, in The Wild Swans at
Coole , Yeats merely seems envious of the youthful swans, in contrast to Sailing to
Byzantium where he seems angry with the young who appear to waste their
youthfulness. I found this theme very thought provoking and therefore an
entertaining theme to read about.
A final theme which appeared in the poetry of Yeats which I studied was that of
historical events. This theme appears in September 1913 and
Clayton Kershaw In Baseball
Clayton Kershaw has been in the Major League baseball, playing for the LA
dodgers. He has been in the MLB since the 2008. He is one of the great starting
pitches for the squad. However as the new season starts, the manager informs him that
he has to pick up his game and start making more strikes. Consequently, future
rookies might have a chance in the coming seasons to take his place as the main
pitcher. The current justification is on the periodization plan made specifically for
Clayton Kershaw in improving his overall performance as the starting pitcher.

This is to effectively manage fatigue, and prevent overreaching and overtraining.
There are multiple variations of periodization; these include traditional, block
periodization and concurrent periodization. Each one maintain different views as to
which is the most effective. Every athlete is different and every sport is different, so
hence there is no right model. However, based on the current athlete and baseball as
his career, a traditional Linear and non linear model have been used as the concept of
planning for success. The linear model increases the intensity while decreasing the
volume throughout the plan. This will be utilised during the offseason and preseason,
furthering allow gradual increases in load and to prevent too many fluctuations.
Issurin (2010) illustrated that the traditional model is linear, however there does exist
a need for the loads to fluctuate and stated it was in fact required. While having a
series of benefits, it has also demonstrated various limitations and draw backs
throughout the decades when applying to team sports and multi peaking
competitions. These limitations include excessive fatigue accumulation, decrease in
certain fitness components due to inconsistent training. Intensive training
dramatically increases the risk of over training (Issurin 2012). However, the
traditional periodization approach will still be effective if there is the correct and
efficient player monitoring tools. Therefore, various forms of player monitoring will
be conducted at different stages of training. This will be discussed at a later section
of the justification. Another view is that it does not provide enough physiological
strain for the athlete to progress. However if player monitoring is effective and
programming is flexible to change, then the traditional model is suitable for the
current athlete. Lastly, traditional linear and

Russian Art And Artist When people think of art they think of just drawings and
different types of paintings. Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso, two out of the

stories. When Folk stories are mentioned it means a story or any kind of belief that
has been passed down. Marc Chagall gave a story painted in a picture of his
childhood. Although this was not the only picture he had painted from a story of
his life. He painted the picture in five different childhood stories (Marc). Next, In
1913 Chagall finished the Fiddler oil paintin. It has two mixtures of the russian

Huffman Trucking Essay
Founded in 1936 with a single tractor trailer, Huffman Trucking (Huffman), a national
transportation company, is located in Cleveland OH. Today, Huffman has over 1,400
employees, 800 tractors, expected revenue to surpass $600,000,000 and is still
privately held. Huffman has hubs located in Los Angeles, CA, St. Louis, MO,
Bayonne, NJ with the central maintenance facility located in Cleveland OH. Their
working contracts are primarily with the US Government, automotive parts industry,

Access will house all the maintenance data tables for Huffman s trucks and trailers,
eliminating the need for manual management. Microsoft Access has added security
options, the ability to create customized forms and reports, and database redundancy.
This product also allows quick and easy methods to access data via graphical user
interfaces allowing users with little or no computer skills to modify, add, or browse
the database management system. Another reason for selecting, Microsoft Accessis
the easy to use queries and reports. The benefits received by automating the fleet
maintenance records will have numerous impacts on the entire organization. Some of
the most obvious benefits will be that drivers will no longer need to find paperwork
to determine when routine maintenance is required, accounting can forecast costs
more accurately, and management will be able to assess vehicle needs, such as
estimating when new equipment is required and when a tractor or trailer needs to be
retired. Uniformity is another benefit. Today each facility creates individual reports.
With the installation of the database, report generation will be automatic and will
contain real time data. The most requested reports to date are DOT Inspection
Reports, Lube/Service Interval Reports, Common Failure Analysis, and Operating
Trend Analysis. Cost is the final benefit. This is where the news gets even better!

The Importance Of Physical Activities
Research has shown that healthy habits established early in life, such as a balanced
diet and participating in regular physical activity, may continue into adolescence and
adulthood, thereby reducing a person s risk of developing conditions such as heart
disease and diabetes. This report investigates the students at Ferny Grove State High
School meet the guidelines recommended by the Australian Government. I achieved
this by conducting a survey of ten people in my class, and the data suggests that the
majority of the people who participated in the survey didn t meet the guidelines. After
evaluating the data, I recommended that the students should less time doing
sedentary activities, and more time doing physical activities.
This report will investigate whether the students at Ferny Grove State High School
are meeting the guidelines recommended by the Australia s physical activity and
sedentary behaviour guidelines for young people aged 13 17 years. A survey will be
conducted, then the data will be evaluated and compared to guidelines to see if the
students are getting enough physical exercise. Recommendations will then be made
on how the students can stay fit and healthy. This report will also cover the
importance of physical activity for adolescences, the need for intervention to increase
physical activities levels in Australia and national health strategies that aim to
improve physical activity in Australia.

After that, he earned his doctorate in mathematics and mathematical physics from Yale University in 1928 (The Deming Institute, ibid). He had a series of government and private jobs. In actual fact, his first job in the United State was in the Department of Agriculture. The Deming Institute stated, It was there that Deming encountered statistics and also met Walter Shewhart. Shewhart s ideas inspired Deming to apply his knowledge of statistics to management and Deming s theory of management was born (The Deming Institute, ibid). Deming led the foundation of the American Society for quality Control, and he a Professor of Statistics at a well known college, the New York University, and which he attend there in 1939. • 3. Dichotomy In Do The Right Thing Do The Right Thing, directed by Spike Lee is a film that acts as a call to action for the audience to differentiate what doing the right thing actually means. New York City in 1989 was filled with issues of race and class. Crime rates were high and one of the highest recorded in history only second to the preceding year of 1990. Cases like the central park five where african americanyouths and other minorities were falsely accused of crimes, caused for unjust views of the justice system designed to protect these people as opposed to persecuting the innocent in the most blatant and obvious ways. Along with false accusations within the system, New York City was also filled with police brutality stories. The organization has collected information... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Malcolm s approach to racial injustices is that the solution is violence with violence. While MLK s perspective is one of peace and assembly. This film uses those contrasting community pillars to once again beg the question of what the right thing is in a situation that asks an individual to choose. This major subtext part of the film are prime examples of duality and dichotomy. Malcolm X is known for his radical and violent views during the racist culture during the time of the civil rights movement until he died. His philosophy never forgotten and was often still practiced. He once said, Tactics based solely on morality can only succeed when you are dealing with basically moral people or a moral system The morality of the system is definitely tested during the 80s where as previously stated, the system is constantly testing within the injustice of the justice system when it comes to african americans. Malcolm X was a man of action and Buggin Out would be his parallel. Throughout the film he is a character of action, when he decided to boycott Sal s there is no stopping him, even after Jane tells him that his passion could be used in more positive ways. He follows through with the boycotting and the audience can see how violence affects the situation in the neighborhood as a
  • 4. George Roy Hill s Slaughterhouse Five Similar to many movies based on books, director George Roy Hill s movie strayed away from Kurt Vonnegut s novel, Slaughterhouse Five. Vonnegut creatively begins the novel as the narrator of the story, describing the development of writing his anti war book taking place in Dresden the city that was bombed in 1945 during World War II (Wicks 329). Vonnegut s prominent novel begins with a unique introduction through engaging and strangely humorous chapters with recurring literary devices, strong character development, and dark humor. As much detail as Vonnegut included in his novel about time, life, death, and the illusion of free will, Hill s movie lacked the depth in meaning of these major themes. Nevertheless, the 1970 s film visuals portrayed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When a Tralfamadorian sees a corpse, all he thinks is that the dead person is in a bad condition in that particular moment, but that the same person is just fine in plenty of other moments. Now when I myself hear that somebody is dead, I simply shrug and say what the Tralfamadorians say about dead people, which is So it goes (Vonnegut 34). This phrase is what builds Billy s character. By agreeing with the Tralfamadorians and repeating So it goes after every mention of death, Billy is choosing to accept death and move on. However, Vonnegut s philosophical message is just that: death keeps life in motion, even the life of the novel (McGinnis 59). So it goes eliminates the initial sorrow usually felt after death is mentioned. Surprisingly, the phrase, So it goes is never heard in Hill s movie production. Since So it goes is said so often in the book, the absence of the phrase in the movie had a huge impact on the meaning of death. For example, after the bombs destroyed Dresden, the American prisoners and a few German soldiers arose from the bomb shelter underground to observe the destruction. The German soldier boy dropped his gun instantly after seeing the damage and raced to a burning building in hope of

Then sometimes you can even find or hear tips, now a lot of the tips and tricks usually come from a teacher, but you will discover some on your own that will make Middle School a bit easier. Throughout my time as a middle school student, I have definitely found so many tips and tricks. Now some tips and tricks are just plain sense, but you don t always utilize these tips. How about we kickoff this essay with academics. Academics in Middle school are single handedly the most essential thing in middle school. The main reason to be organized is because it will make you feel less stressed. Let s say you just stuff homework in your backpack when your backpack is already full of papers, then the next day you will have so much stress rummaging through your backpack for a single paper. Being prepared is essential. I have seen many people get written up or even a detention because they forgot a book. Time management is key in middle school. If you get homework from every class and it is all due the next day, don t do it all at 10:00 PM, this is single handedly the worst thing you can do in middle school. Also don t procrastinate. Now this falls under the same category as time management, but this usually has to do with projects, not homework, Let s say Mrs. Delucia gives you a project to do over Christmas break, don t wait until the last weekend before we come back to school to do the whole science project, If you do two things will happen, one, you will have a stress filled weekend and that is not good. Number two, you usually won t get a good grade on the project because you rushed the project that was meant to be done over a span of two weeks, and you decided to do it in two

John landed in Gallipoli with the covering force on the 25th of April 1915 (Refer to figure 3). John shows empathy towards his family and shows annoyance though this last letter that they did not get to go to England (Refer to figure 4). From Egypt the Bearer Division of the 3rd Field Ambulance landed at Anzac Cove at 4.30 am in the early morning of 25 April 1915. • 7. Burundi Research Paper LEGAL COMMITTEE Burundi s Position on the Legal Aspects of Odious Debt Introduction Burundi, one of the world s smallest nations, has just emerged from a 12 year ethnic based civil war. The war started in 1993 and just ended in 2005, which then caused an alteration in the government political system to take on a democratic form. They are now in process of peace although they are still in the struggle of reviving their shattered economy and forging national unity. External Debts of Burundi Debt is a major issue in Burundi. External debts are owed from other countries and now we are struggling to pay our debts, although we are already helped through the debt cancellation program that had cut our debts immensely. These are the total of public and private debts owed to nonresidents repayable in foreign currency, goods, and services. Burundi is heavily dependent on bilateral and multilateral aid, with external debt totaling US$1.4 billion in 2004. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) was suspended during the outbreak of violence in 1993. Then, the IMF reengaged with Burundi in 2002 and again in 2003 with post conflict credits. • 8. The Relationship Between Density And Sugar Content The Relationship Between Density and Sugar Content Danielle Shaub Partners: Emily Alexander, Bill Dempsey, Shayla Ho Lab Performed 03/11/15 Lab Report 04/07/15 Abstract: Using solutions of sugar and water alongside cola, density and percent sugar can be related. The purpose of this lab is to discover how and with what benefit these factors can be related. Using assorted measurements and the standard curve of the calculated densities and percentages of sugar solutions, it was learned that cola has an approximate percent sugar of four percent, according to the calculations of the lab. Other results included actual percent sugar of soda and various statistics on measured sugar solutions. Introduction The purpose of this lab is to explore how density can be used to measure sugar content and percent sugar of beverages not only in the lab, but in the real world. Using the standard curve of the percent sugar and density of the solutions in the lab, the percent sugar of regular Coke was determined. The standard curve represented the general trend in the correlation of the values calculated in the lab. Using the data from the experiment, the actual amount of sugar in the soda could be calculated by using the percent sugar found by using the standard curve. (If the soda has a mass of x and the percent sugar is the value y, x в—Џ y = mass of sugar.) Of course, the simple calculation of percent sugar dividing the mass of the sugar by the mass of the solution can be
  • 9. Guy Clark Essay Yesterday the music world lost one of the great singer songwriters. With the loss of Guy Clark, Country music lost of one of its moorings to true originality and authenticity. While I certainly can t claim to be an authority on Guy Clarks works, I ve heard his songs enough to appreciate the depth and poetryof his lyrics. I had the good fortune to be contracted to write for one of EMI publishing s joint ventures in the early nineties. And If I m not mistaken, Mr. Clark was a writer at EMI publishing during this time as well. One of the factors that added to the excitement of writingon music row in those days was the possibility of meeting or even catching a glimpse of a songwriting giant like him. And no; sadly, I haven t had the pleasure of meeting Guy Clark. I did however pour my cup of coffee from the same pot as he in the EMI writer s lounge one cold winter morning! That may not sound like much to you, but when you re a young struggling writer, you hang on any chance to draw similarities; however diluted, between yourself and a legend like Guy (I can call him that because after all... we did share a coffee pot).... Essay Multiple Sclerosis Multiple sclerosis is a complex, autoimmune disease caused by damage of the fatty myelin sheaths around axons of the brain and spinal cord which leads to demyelination, lesions (scaring) and inflammation1, 2, 3. This damage leads to disruption of nerve impulse along axons resulting in the many symptoms seen in multiple sclerosispatients. Although its exact etiology is unknown, current research indicates that multiple sclerosis is a complex combination of genetic and environmental factors. It has been established that multiple sclerosis is not inherited but research is being focused on genetic influence and suceptibility3. Like many other diseases with genetic components to their etiology, disease risk for multiple sclerosis can be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Results are consistent with the IL2/IL2R pathway in its role of controlling autoimmunity since the IL2/IL2R pathway controls immunity through proliferation and survival of T cells. In addition this pathway maintains peripheral T cell tolerance, which, when not kept in check by regulatory T cells will result in autoimmunity leading to damage of the myelin sheaths around axons. Reduced function of regulatory T cells has been detected in multiple sclerosis patients1, pointing to reduced function of the IL2/IL2R pathway due to genotypic variation. A similar study investigating the genetic role of IL7/IL7RA pathway in multiple sclerosis susceptibility was conducted through genotyping and statistical analysis of genotypic distributions, in multiple sclerosis patients and controls, who were matched ethnically, by gender and age. Results show that polymorphisms in IL7 not only indicate statistically significant association with the disease but higher estimated genotype relative risks as well2. The IL7/ILRA pathway is involved in development, maturation and survival of T and B cells, contributing to the body s immune system2. Autoimmune response can result from the modified function of the pathway due to genetic variation of IL7 or IL7RA genes. Results of the study show that genetic variations in the IL7/IL7RA play an important role not only in the

It is not a direct product which can be purchased by consumers, it can be described as more of a behind the scenes third party which collaborates with current insurers. FloodRe will be a reinsurance company for current insurers to insure themselves against losses caused by flooding, however it will be funded by existing insurers. The idea is to reduce premiums and excesses for those in flood prone areas, so those who find it hard to get insured will now be able to take out insurance cover with providers such as Aviva, whereas beforehand they were unable to obtain such insurance or were reluctant to pay the high premiums. The preferred outcome is to see a transition from the current market to a market where flood insurance is available to everyone at affordable prices long after the existence of Flood Re. However, to what extent the scheme is effective can be questioned extensively, there are many exclusions involved with the scheme and questions have been raised about the spending of flood defences rather than the introduction of such a scheme. Flood Re has been established to last for 25 years, but is this long enough to solve the flooding issues? These issues will be analysed throughout this
  • 12. Oliver Road Survey On 03/08/2017 Deputies were dispatched to the area of 120th Ave and Oliver Road for a traffic complaint. The reporting party advised a vehicle was parked near the tracks and when a train approached three occupants got out of their vehicle and stood in the roadway. Other deputies were en route to this call when another call came out and other units were needed elsewhere. After finishing with my current assignment I responded to this call. At approximately 16:43 hours I arrived in the area of 120th Ave and Oliver Road. Once I turned east I saw a blue truck parked in the roadway. As I approached the vehicle I noticed three people sitting the guardrail to the railroad crossing arm. I approached the three and asked them to step away from the tracks and towards me. The three did so without hesitation. A male, who I know from previous encounters as Richard Wayne Hamilton, asked why the Sheriff s Office was called when they weren t doing anything wrong. I explained to Richard that his vehicle was blocking the lane of travel and when I approached they were trespassing on railroad property. Richard stated he was not trespassing as the group had been given permission by BNSF Police given that they were not parked on the tracks and were clear of the tracks as trains were traveling through the area. The sources that we have used so far for this course are all about the wars in pre modern world. According to Sun Tzu, supreme excellence is an important thing in the battles because it can be helpful to break down the enemies without fighting (Part III, 2), by which he means to fight skillfully rather than military campaigns. Hence, in this paper, I will be going through the theme of strategy in different sources, and I will analyze and explain some different strategies that were mentioned in the sources. Some strategies were meant to avoid the wars, and some were to prepare and operate wars. He has said in the text that in a war Sun Pin tricked P ang Chuan by showing 100,000 fires on the first night, 50,000 on the next, and the night after only 20,000 meant to him that their number has decreased significantly. The Global Financial Crisis of 2008 to 2009 was the most recent and before that was The Great Depression of the 1930s. The Global Financial Crisis actually began in 2007 when prices of homes tanked. It not only affected the U.S. but it also affected economies overseas. The entire investment banking industry, some of the biggest insurance companies, enterprises government used for mortgage lending, top mortgage lenders, the largest savings and loan companies, and two of the largest commercial banks were many of the financial sectors affected by the crisis. Banks stopped making loans, share prices plunged throughout the world and most of the world plummeted into a recession (The Financial Crisis of 2008: Year In Review 2008, 2009, para. 1). Globalization of financial markets began after the Depression and World War II. After the Great Depression and World War II there was much physical and economic ruin in Europe, Asia and parts of Africa which allowed the U.S. to become a leader in the world financial system. Top world leaders like France, Germany, Britain and Japan were economically and financially unstable. The U.S. was the only stable capitalist country which means it was capable of determining the terms of a new world economic order ( The 2008 World Economic Crisis: Global Shifts and Faultlines, 2009, para. 34). • 16. Analysis Of The Poem Where The Sidewalk Ends Shel Silverstein is a notable writer, made famous for his poems that were geared towards children. One of his most famous poems, Where the Sidewalk Ends shares the title with what may be his most well known book. This poem is a very meticulously worded work, and although it may be published in a children s book, it can be understood and very meaningful to older generations. This piece has a depth and wisdom that may be well beyond the comprehension of young minds, and it can be interpreted and analyzed in many ways and can reveal a variety of themes. When first reading this short poem, the initial theme that stands out to me, personally is the idea of the change that occurs during aging. It seems that the stark contrast between the imagery of the first stanza, versus the second stanza reveals the dramatic difference between childhood and adulthood. Childhood can be thought of as more gentle, airy, and even innocent. The third lineof the first stanza says the grass grows soft and white... (Silverstein, n.d.). This gives that notion of gentleness, and innocence associated with childhood. Many think of the color white and associate it with innocence, maybe because of their religious practices. Religious imagery sometimes depicts heavenly beings in white robes, possibly surrounded by white wisps of clouds or white rays of light. The word soft is also associated with gentleness. Many would imagine the soft grass, and think back to a time in their childhood on a

  • 18. Academic Achievement And Advancement For Students Educators and school administrators have the largest responsibility of promoting academic achievement and advancement for all students, regardless of their cultural background. Throughout the United States, schools enroll students with different academic levels and cultural backgrounds. As of 2011, African Americanchildren embodied 16% of the public schoolpopulation in the United Statesand Muslim children, less than 3% (National Center for Education Statistics). Keeping this in mind, students from cultural minorities can be at risk of academic failure due to the environment they are raised in. As schools educate such a vast array of students, it is crucial that educators and support staff be competent in working with a diverse group of students. School counselors, personnel, and educators need to be able to collaborate with students in helping them reach their potential in academics, social skills, future planning, as well as mental health concerns (NCES, 2009). It is imperative that school counselors are informed and understand the cultural values and beliefs of minority groups in order to help students achieve academic and personal success. Discussion Schools within the United States are progressively becoming more culturally diverse. Because of this, it is critical that educators and school personnel are aware of the difficulties and types of support individual students from diverse cultural backgrounds may need. Unlike the experiential learning theory which is more focused on how the environment affects the behaviour of the individual, the social learning theory is based on the idea that we learn from our interactions with others in a social context. Separately, by observing the behaviors of others, people tend to develop similar behaviors. New concepts of social learningare being formulated as new trends in distance education programs emerge.
