The Consequences Of Racism In The Horror Film
When someone mention Racism what comes to our mind? Most people think that Racism is the
discrimination of one s race through their genetical and physical characteristics compare to the other
race. Racism is easy to recognize and separate ourselves from easily. Former President Barack Obama
stated that It s not just a matter of it not being polite to say nigger in public. That s not the measure of
whether racism still exists or not. It s not just a matter of overt discrimination. Societies don t,
overnight, completely erase everything that happened 200 to 300 years prior (National Public Radio).
Racism is everywhere but the causes of the racism still exist even though we are created equally. But
sometimes due to lack of the knowledge of other culture, which could develop Racism among the
other race. What does it take when Horror film takes fear of racism? It can be unsettling when we can
see clear dichotomy between good and evil and the obscure fear we create on. And so Horror films are
used to guide those people who are discriminating black people on how they feel. Black characters in
the film are often offer subtle difference on how we deal with the matters of race. Jordan peele, a
director of Get Out, has done a great job in the Horror genre of showing the fear of being black in the
modern world. He had placed a modern social issues which dealt with race into an thrilling and
entertaining horror film.
Get out is an American horror film directed by Jordan Peele.

The Dystopian Novel The Maze Runner
The Dystopian Novel The Maze Runner has a rather dark and cold theme to it, yet some find the story
to be lacking the naturalistic feel that some search for when they read. (We will be using theme by the
verb definition while describing The Maze Runner in this essay.) The Maze Runner has a very tranquil
feel to it and no matter what was happening it didn t feel real. Even as Thomas were being chased by
the Grievers, leaving his dear friend and leader Alby behind hung like some wet clothes out to dry,
some readers were not brought to the edge of one s seat like they expected to be. The way the
characters are written and the way they interact really does not show that they have lived and survived
together in the Glade like the author probably intended. Everyone is so separated, not a close bond in
sight. No one actually has a color of their own other than that of some dingy, off colored green they all
seem to share. All of the characters were pretty static. With the amount of hype everyone made this
book out to be some can only say that they are deeply disappointed at how droll this whole entire book
was.
One of the hardest things in writing is getting the sensations and scenes in your head onto paper good
enough for another person to read and see almost the same thing. It is a challenge, most authors can
attest to that being the case. The problem with The Maze Runner is that no matter how hard the author
tried some readers could not find oneself enraptured by this

Go Set A Watchman Analysis
Award winning author, Harper Lee in her novel, Go Set a Watchman addresses racial controversy
during the 1950s. Lee s purpose is to create a story that many will love, while showing her views on
racism and how she felt during this time. She creates a controversial tone in order to make people
think about her views while also using familiar characters, which makes the readers eager to have an
update on these beloved characters. Although this novel created racial tensions, Lee uses her writing
skills, ethos, pathos, and logos by connecting the audience to the story and bridging a gap between the
fictional world and reality. Lee s novel combines issues going on in the real world, while constructing
a story that can relate to the readers. Lee s first novel made people think about how racism affects the
world, and she instantly became a credible author. Lee was born in 1926, which makes her a primary
source for the information on the racial outburst in the 1950s. In Lee s first novel, To Kill a
Mockingbird, she uses the quote, You never really understand a person until you consider things from
his point of view (Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird). This quote is arguably the most famous line
from the novel, and it tests the readers to fight against racism. As an author during this time, Lee had
the ability to educate the audience about the truth of what life was like in the south during this time,
while offering a lovable and relatable story. Since this novel is a sequel to

The impact of tablet computers on the behaviour and lifestyle of the modern day consumer
The case of the Singapore students attending the UK MBA Program
1. Introduction and background
1.1. Setting the context The modern day society is evolving at a rapid pace, with this fast rhythm of
development being forced by the advancement of technology. In this particular setting, technologic
innovations impact every aspect of life, from the completion of the small leisure chores, to the very
possibility of saving our lives. Technologic innovation is as such the force driving advancement and
evolution, and this is obvious at multiple levels. One specific technologic innovation which is
becoming more and more present in the lives of the modern day individuals is represented by the
tablet computer, with the most popular representatives of this category being the Apple iPad and the
Google Android tablet. The tablet computers are characterized by increased portability, meaning that
they eliminate the barriers of being obliged to manage information from the desk in the home or the
office. The tablet computers are easy to use; they integrate a multitude of features and they support
communication outside wired technology. These new devices are becoming more and more present in
the lives of the young adults everywhere, including the students in Singapore. In this setting, the future
research project would set out to assess the means in which the tablet computers impact the

The Atomic Bomb Was Necessary
The Atomic Bomb was needed to be Used then, but not now Cullen J. Babcock I002 FALL 15 HIST
102 Dr. Lilia Anand American Military University Abstract The Atomic Bomb or known Atom Bomb
was created by a scientist, which assembled the first bomb. He and General Leslie Graves officially
and successfully tested it in New Mexico, July 21, 1945. Despite this, two refugees from Italy and
Germany in the early 1940 s, Enrico Fermi and Leo Szilard were the first to ever produce a controlled
chain reaction. The bomb was created to use during WW2 and end it. This was big for America as
president Franklin was notified that Germany was working on a similar weapon to use on America and
its Allies. This bomb was needed to win the war and it took approximately 160,000 lives as a result
while also having many affects on the people then, the people today, and the environment (Henretta,
Edwards, Self, 2012). The US was the first and only country to this day to drop an atomic bomb on
another country, not once, but twice. This did end the war; however, the results were quite devastating
to Japan. The environment and lives lost were all greatly impacted however, the world as a whole
would be impacted for years to come. It also had its political reasoning behind it to show the global
power of America. The devastation caused by the bombs also created deterrence from using them in
the future at the time. Furthermore, now as other countries have improved technological

What kind of guilt problems will the donor carry? Also, with some donations such as kidneys, the
donor child with have reprocutions for the rest of his or her life. That child will be unable to play some
sports growing up and the U.S. Army will not enlist them among other things. Of course serving as a
donor is not in the best interest of them medically. Although some say a day of minor discomfort and
minimal risk of anesthesia outweighs a lifetime without a healthy brother or sister (Pentz). Also the
donor child could take pride in the fact that they saved their siblings life if all goes well. Who makes
the call to say it is okay or worth the risk to allow a minor child to become a donor? Do the parents
make the decisions, the sick child, the donor child, or the healthcare professionals? What if the sick
child refuses? Even if that sick child is a minor they may refuse treatment. It is not a question of age, it
is a question of competence. Competence is the ability to understand the nature of the proposed
procedure and its possible consequences. If a child is competent, no matter the age, they have a legal
and ethical right to refuse treatment. The competence of an individual should be determined by the
clinician who is doing the purposed treatment. However, when children refuse treatment their parents
may consent on their behave (Cornock). This is if the child does not have medical emancipation.

Rain Motifs In Ray Bradbury s There Will Come Soft Rain
Overcast sky, dark wind, cold light, and gloomy actions are the characteristics and effects of a rainy
day. Rain is often the precursor to disaster in a story because of the natural feelings of sadness that it
brings. Therefore, it is appropriate that a rain motif should be present in There Will Come Soft Rains ,
written by Ray Bradbury. The rain makes a subtle but important appearance in the story, which allows
certain events and objects to express their feelings more adequately in the themes of emptiness and the
rising power of technology. The first appearance of rain is when the people of the house are supposed
to be leaving for work, The weather box on the front door sang quietly: Rain, Rain, go away; rubbers,
raincoats for today...

Symbolism In The Giver
The haunting story of The Giver centers on a young teenagers by the name of Jonas (actor Brenton
Thwaites), a boy who lives in a rigidly controlled society sometime in the future. Jonas lives in a
colorless realm that is a seemingly ideal world of conformity and contentment. The humans that
inhabit this world deal with no evil; whether it be suffering, war, hunger or pain. At first glance it
seems to be a perfect world . Controlled by the elders rulers with laws of strict procedures this society
gives injections to the community with a substance that controls their brains. Furthermore, they
determine whom they will marry, who they receive as children, and what they will be assigned as for
the rest of their lives. No one is allowed to leave ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jonas and Giver have truly escaped the physical boundaries of their society. Even though the writer of
The Giver seems to make an effort to eliminate the gender stereotypes in the culture by supporting the
idea that everyone is equal, in the end it did not work. As he movie develops, Jonas is able to avoid the
drugs and his senses becomes more vivid and so does his moral judgment. One controversial topic that
is brought up by metaphors and imagery is the practice of Euthanasia. The practice is obvious in both
the elderly citizens and unhealthy newborns. Jonas is horrified as he learns about this. Jonas ultimate
reason to escape and save the society becomes clear when he becomes attached to Gabriel, a newborn
whose life is on the line. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, To be yourself in a world that is constantly
trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment . Jonas perspective of the world was
so much differed than the others around him, and in the end, he did not allow the conformity lose his
individualism. This movie also portrays a classical view of the utilitarianism theory. At first glance the
Principle of Utility does not seem to be a radical idea: in reality, it may seem too obvious to mention.

A View From The Bridge Persuasive Essay
I have two predictions so far about the book I am reading. I predict that Roland and Eddie will have to
go back to Eddie s world to get supplies. Eddie, he tries to say, but his voice is all gone. His throat
hurts, hurts so bad. We should have brought some astin too, he thinks, and then tries to laugh: all the
drugs for him none for Eddie. (King 186). At the beginning of the book, some giant lobster like
animals took two of Roland s fingers and one of his toes. Not only was he weak from traveling, he
now is suffering from blood loss and infection. Later in the book when Roland takes Eddie back into
his world, Eddie brings some aspirin with to try and help Roland. The aspirin helps, but they are
almost out of it. Going back into Eddie s world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, they are pretty much low on everything. They have no water, no good food, and no fresh clothes.
Lastly, it would be very helpful if Roland could get some more ammo for his revolver since most of
what is left are duds. I can also predict that after Roland and Eddie get better, they will go on to try to
find the Dark Tower. Tower, he mouths, because now he can t even manage a husk... North, the
gunslinger mouths. North, I told you (King 191). In the last book, Roland was on a quest, and it did
not end after the man in black died. His main goal in life is to find the dark tower which is why I think
he will still keep going with Eddie. He will continue with Eddie because Eddie needs to help him.
Also, Eddie is one of the three people Roland has to meet on his quest, so Roland will most likely
keep going with Eddie. In the last book, the man in black predicted that Roland would meet someone
to go with him on his quest, and that is what happened. Eddie will probably play a crucial part on the
journey to the tower by helping Roland. Roland even told Eddie that it was his destiny to come with
him on his quest. That was how he convinced Eddie to come into Roland s

Rate of reactions play a vital role in real life situations. Everyday situations, such as cooking, require
reaction rates to be increased. To bake some cookies, you place them inside an oven. But why is that?
Well, placing the cookies in the oven speeds up the rate of the reaction by heating it up. When the
cookies have more heat energy, they cook faster. Additives may be added to foods to speed up the
reaction. These are called catalysts. Likewise, we place milk in our fridges to slow down the reaction
rate by removing heat and preventing the milk from going bad. This is because the milk would turn
sour if we left it out near a window. (14)
Enzymes are used to speed up biological reactions. When digesting food, enzymes are used as
biological catalysts to speed up metabolisms. Excess heat from this is used to regulate the temperature
of endothermic animals bodies. When a person is ill, their body temperature increases as heat fights
bacteria by slowing down the rate of bacteria production. Respiration is another example of when
reactions are sped up in biological systems. Rates of reactions

Essay on Modern and Post-Modernism Architecture
There is often some confusion when people start talking about the post modernism and modernism in
architecture in terms of their philosophical terminology differences. Modern architecture is known for
its minimalism (Linder, 2004); buildings were functional and economical rather than comfortable and
beautifully decorated. The post modernism architecture, however, is called a neo eclectic, significantly
assuming the role of a regeneration of period styles for designing houses, and a never ending variety
of forms and characteristics, asymmetrical designs for commercial buildings (Fullerton Heritage,
2008). An example of these two polar opposites, Less is more made by Mies van der Rohe in 1928
(Blake, 1976) and Less is a bore made by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although, most post modernist architects had been associated with modern architects in terms of
training during the twentieth century, they refused most their teachers ideas. In addition, today s
architects cannot deny the modern architecture ways of designing any building. Their design, for
instance, has many philosophical meaning such as constructional, environmental, sociological,
commercial and metaphorical meaning. The main difference between these two schools is that the
architects point of view to any design as a means of communication (Chan, 1997). Modern
architecture, for example, focus on the aesthetics of architectural language, while post modernity
adjust in constant effort to achieve what is more than unity and focus on the traditional concepts,
therefore both schools are in competition with each other. Second basic principle of modern school is
the production beauty by basic technology (Chan, 1997), and this led to a contradiction on the post
modernism architects being attempted to use primitive technology. Their particular case is to access
and change the impact of the traditional architecture through all people. Therefore, to achieve this goal
they have addressed the issues of beauty and technology within the general concept of the design.
Despite different thoughts on the features of post modernism definition, it is clearly seen that people
,who are interested in beauties, are

Class Action Litigation Act Of 2017
Introduction:
Class actions continue to be a hot bed for both litigation and legislation. Gaining traction in the Senate
is the Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act of 2017 (the Act ), which already passed in the House of
Representative by a vote of 220 to 201. But how significant is the Act? And how does it differ from
the current Rule 23 framework and the Class Action Fairness Act ( CAFA ) that was passed in 2005?
Early commentators have come out on both sides, some praising the Act s attempts to cut down on
unmeritorious litigation driven only by plaintiffs attorneys and third party funders, others viewing the
Act s new restrictions as a boon only to defendants. Regardless of how the Act is characterized, if
enacted in its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This often occurs in cases involving consumer products there can be thousands of people who have
not actually been injured but who are merely unhappy with a product, and they are allowed to be a
part of the class. An empirical study found that no injury class actions have resulted in approximately
$4 billion worth of settlements and judgments over the last decade alone.
The new requirement would especially impact securities fraud cases, where the range of investor
losses can differ between a few hundred dollars (for individuals) and hundreds of millions of dollars
(for institutional investors). Similarly, product liability claims would be more difficult to certify,
especially those involving pharmaceuticals, because the symptoms, latent period, and extent of
injuries often vary dramatically across class members.
This new requirement is the change most likely to have the biggest impact on how class actions
proceed, mainly because its language is vague and susceptible to differing interpretations. So, while
on the one hand, the addition of a new requirement may decrease the number of cases that are allowed
to proceed as class actions, on the other hand, there will likely be an increase in litigation dealing with
how type and scope should be interpreted.
Reliable and feasible method of distribution
The Act would add an additional requirement to class certification by requiring that the

Wasted Food Essay
Every year, billions of pounds of food are wasted throughout the world. It is important to realize that
this is an enormous problem. This is a problem by cause of countless people could have prevented it
by just starting their meal with less food. Misunderstanding the consequences of food waste, people
don t even understand how much food they waste throughout their lives. Food that we throw out
results in so abounding problems and wastes of needed resources. Wasted food is a strong loss as a
result of wasted water, money and food for others in need. Moreover, food is a considerable loss
considering it results in wasted water. In the article titled, When You Waste Food, You re Wasting Tons
Of Water, Too , it says, According to the World Resources Institute, an environmental think tank,
inside the 1.3 billion tons of food wasted every year worldwide is 45 trillion gallons of water. Another
article titled, Wasted Food=Wasted Water it tells us, When you crunch the numbers, about 25 percent
of all freshwater consumed annually in the US is associated with discarded food. Having trouble
visualizing how much water that is? Well, on a global scale, by one clever comparison, it s a little
more than the volume of Lake Erie. This information tells us that when people throw out the extra
food on our plate that you couldn t finish, overall, people are wasting so much water. Everyone wastes
so much water through not taking smaller portions of food that it equals more than the

The Legacy Of The Lincoln Electric Company Essay
The Lincoln Electric Company has dominated the market of welding machine manufacturing since its
infancy in the late 1900 s. Their continued success is due to companies ability to adapt different
organizational cultures, into a beautiful melting pot of profitability. Management could be described as
a mix of both outcome oriented and stable styles, with a hefty dose of people oriented cultures, all
wrapped into one.
In 1895, engineer, inventor, and businessman John C. Lincoln started Lincoln Electric Company. His
brother James would join him shortly, in his business endeavor, starting in 1907 (Sharplin, A 1989).
James managerial style would most closely be described as people oriented. He once said Labor and
management are properly not warring camps; they are parts of one organization in which they must
and should cooperate fully and happily. (Sharplin, A 1989) Early on, he created the Advisory Board, a
committee made up of both employees who were elected by their peers and upper management,
including the chief executive officer. The Advisory Board continues still to this day, meeting
bimonthly to discuss employee policies, working conditions, etc. Though these meetings, employees
have gained such things as health benefits, life insurance, paid vacation time, retirement pension
plans, stock incentives, continued on and off site education, and much more. (Sharplin, A 1989)
Another early result of the Advisory Board meetings was the creation of the employee incentive and

Disadvantages Of Clinical Pilates
Clinical Pilates Foundation Course
What is Clinical Pilates, and why your patients might need it?
Pilates aims to improve joint movement, muscle strength, and the balance of the whole body, not just
the spine. Strength, mobility and balance are needed when doing the variety of activities associated
with everyday living such as getting dressed, carrying shopping, working or being able to sit or stand
with ease; these demands are greater with sport and leisure activities such as gardening. People in pain
sometimes avoid moving and doing exercise due to the fear of making things worse, which can
quickly result in chronicity, loss of strength and poor joint movement, often resulting in adverse
impacts on their general health, mood and overall well being.
Clinical Pilates adds the element of medical knowledge to all the Pilates exercises, gives the
practitioner scope to add treatments, such as joint mobilisation as part of a patient rehabilitation
programme. Clinical Pilates is a series of mat based exercises in various positions; supine, prone, side
lying, sitting and standing, which has been adapted to make them more suitable for patients recovering
from injury, illness or surgery. The additional role of a physical therapist is to offer hands on treatment
to help alleviate any fear associated with movement, teaching strategies to improve how patients move
at home or work, during play and in sports.

Essay on The Nation Of Japan
The small island of Japan is both unique and rich in culture. Japan has made many advancements in its
time. In the topics of history, government, geography, culture, and economy, Japan has a very

lasted from 13000 BC to 300 BC. This period included mostly fisherman and hunters. During the
Yayoi period, agriculture was introduced and social classes began to form. In the mid 500 s, Buddhism

Foam Packaging
Foam packaging is made up of almost 95 % of air. The foam packaging protects TV when they are
being transported from one place to another (Brydson 1995). However, these foam packages are not
thrown away after use, instead they are recycled into insulation together with the picture frame.
Polymers in the recycled plastics
Plastic Bottles
Plastic bottles contains a polyester known as Polythene terephthalate( Azapagic et al.2003).The
polythene terephthalate is used in making the plastic bottles since it has a strong ability to create a gas
barrier so that oxygen get into the drink and spoil it.
Plastic bags, shampoo bottles and milk jugs
Plastic bags as well as shampoo containers are made up of high density polyethylene (HDPE). The
HDPE is used in making the plastic bag and shampoo containers since it has long virtuality and
unbranched polymer chains which make it more dense as well as very crystalline hence stronger
(Nicholson 1997). The HDPE is stiff, strong, tough as well as resistant to moisture.
Plastic wraps
Plastic wraps comprises of low density polyethylene(LDPE). The LDPE polymers have a crucial

Blood Red Horse Summary
The book Blood Red Horse by K. M. Grant is a historic fiction novel set in England and Palestine
during King Richard s Crusades. I especially enjoyed this book because it colorfully retold the story of
the Christians struggles to take back the city from the Muslims that were holding the city and
disrespecting the sacred pieces of the Christian religion, such as the Jewish temples. The plot is very
exciting and keeps the reader enthralled with every turn of the page because of the vivid details and
exiting action the author masterfully tells. Hossana, a fiery red horse, belongs to William deGranville,
a young knight that is on the mission to take back Jerusalem from Saladin the Great Sultan. Hossana

IT 377 Graduate research paper LTE deployment in Small cells Submitted by Anuya Prabhu Abstract:
With the advent of high technological advancements in the field of telecommunication, it has become
necessary to provide full capacity network coverage and high data rates to a user at all places. The
research paper will focus on introducing small cells as a solution to the user needs by giving an
overview of different kinds of architectures for LTE deployment in small cells and coordination
techniques for synchronization between these architectures. The research paper will also include the
analysis of mobility between systems working on 3GPP and non 3GPP standards. Mobile operators

Assistance with the current macro cell is required to power the small cells and coordinate with internet
and radio backhaul and maintaining the Quality of Service (QOS) in the process [1]. Figure 1 LTE
deployment in small cells Why small cells? Small cells are beneficial in terms of the following
aspects: 1) Coverage: Adding capacity to high traffic areas and extend coverage to hard to reach
locations and indoor sites. 2) Capacity: Enhancing localized coverage 3) Data offloading: Providing
robust 4G LTE coverage to customers in challenging coverage areas Small cells mainly consist of the
femtocells, picocells, and microcells. The network can also be known by distributed radio technology
which consists of centralized baseband units and remote radio heads. Beamformingtechnology
(focusing a radio signal on a very specific area) can be utilized to further enhance or focus small cell
coverage . The common factor binding all of these technologies is that all are centrally managed. [13]
The range of small is from 10 meters within urban and in building locations to 2 km for a rural
location. Picocells and microcells can also have a range of a few hundred meters to a few kilometres,
but femto cells do not have the self arranging capability. [13] There is need for backhaul to connect
the small cells to the core network, internet

Damn Dams In The United States
Damn Dams The United States has led the world in dam building for the past 100 years. The dams are
used for a variety of purposes, including hydropower, irrigation, flood control, and water storage.
Even though dams can be a benefit to society, they can also cause a lot for harm to the rivers. Dams
degraded river ecosystems, depleted fisheries, and diminished the recreational use of nearly all of the
nation s rivers. Many of the dams are unsafe, old or no longer serve their intended purposes.
Reduce River Levels Dams by nature are used to divert water from going down river freely. This
causes the areas below the dams to become dewatered and takes away the water needed for a heathy
ecosystem. Taking away the water makes native plant live close ... Show more content on

Dams are used to generate hydropower by releasing the water to move the turbine that generates the
power. Hydropower is a big industry in the United State it is responsible for most of the United States
renewable energy resources. Dams are made for the water storage in areas where water is not easily
accessible. The storing of water allows communities to have a reserve water supply in case of a
drought or water shortage. In places like California that have been in a drought for years would not be
able to survive without the Dams and reservoirs to keep a water supply. Without this water, the cities
would have to move to a climate with more available

Firework Cremains Research Paper
Firework Cremains
After choosing cremation, you ll have some specific questions about how it will be carried out. One
that you ll eventually come to is what to do with the ashes afterward.
Those of you who are more traditional may think that s a no brainer. You may choose one of the more
conventional ways, such as burial or keeping them in a vase type urn, which are two of the most
chosen methods.
Then there are those of you who are more unconventional and would like to do something that s a bit
or even a lot out of the ordinary. Below are 40 ideas that range from conservative to unusual and some
you might even find a little creepy.
Storage Options for Cremated Remains
We ll begin with having a location for family and friends to pay their respects to the deceased. A place
where they can see where their loved one is laid to rest. Burial of Ashes

sometimes called ritual tattoos. A small amount of the ashes are mixed in with the ink that illustrates
the person s name or even their image on your body.
Vase urn If you love flowers or candles, a vase urn would be a lovely idea for cremains. They are
made with a compartment in the bottom to place the ashes. You then place the candle or flowers in the
top. Your loved one will always have fresh flowers and light.

Big Brother s Government
The blatant evils of an all controlling government are spelled out by George Orwell in his novel, 1984,
in an effort to push his agenda against totalitarianism. Orwell offers a look into a future governed by
dictators. He points out the exaggeratingly blind faith people have in following the convention,
turning them into sheep to be easily preyed on by a power hungry government. So long it will please
Big Brother, the ruling government in the plot, the public welcomes around the clock surveillance of
their every action and thought, extreme rationing for an unproved war, absolute restrictions on all
relationships, a forced nationalism and the most minimal quality of life. George Orwell challenges this

The author created an alternate dimension where the future was a nightmare: being watched at all
times, no private moments, and no ties to anyone except Big Brother were allowed. 1984 is an
endeavor by Orwell to make the public face their reality head on, to make them realize that they are
capable of choosing their way of life. Choosing powerful themes, he wants to awaken primal emotions
in his audience; he wants them to struggle under the finger of Big Brother and not be tolerant of such
dictatorship. Orwell needs people to think and decide for themselves what they want in life. He doesn

Warm Hues
Like it was mentioned before, blue is a calming color with an icy undertone, so one of the ultimate tips
that you can do to augment your eye color is to truly use lots of various hues that consist of warm
colors. The colors that are included in this category are browns, tones of an earthy nature and also
some softer colors that would suit your beautiful blue eyes superbly.
7. Simplicity Pays
Blue eyes are naturally beautiful and have an enchanting look that is an instant crowd puller. So
sometimes you don t require tons of eye makeup to surround your eyes, you just need to go simple and
show them off. Earnestly, too much of color and makeup can divert from you re the natural beauty of
eyes.
8. Highlight
Highlight is the need of the hour in the present times. So make sure that you accompany your eyeliner
or eyeshadow with some highlights. The highlights will softly encase your eyes and also vivify them.
The correct way of applying them is to put them just below your brow bones and in the corner on the
inner side of your eyes. You must make sure that you apply a slightly daintier color in terms of
eyeshadow like silver or beige.

Steve Rogers Character Analysis
The first thing it is important to know about Steve Rogers is that he has been chronically ill since he
was a child. There are conflicting reports about what illnesses he suffered from, but there is some
consensus even still: he had both scarlet and rheumatic fever, chronic or frequent colds, sinusitis, heart
palpitations, and, the most important to this app, asthma. Now, the asthma alone would have been
enough to make his life difficult treatment wasn t very advanced in the days of Steve s childhood, and
it would have made it hard for him to do much but compounding that, society s reaction to asthma was
largely unfavorable. It was thought at the time that asthma was a result of a mental weakness, rather
than anything medically wrong, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Steve feels an obligation to his country, to his fellow man, that his body initially doesn t allow him to
fulfill, but that doesn t stop him from trying. One might imagine that this is due to his mother and
father s influence in his life both of them set aside their lives in the hopes of making life better for
others. His mother was a nurse in a TB ward, and his father died of mustard gas in World War I. Due
to these two influences, as well as his own intrinsic sense of moral obligation, Steve feels compelled
to fight in World War II, despite the fact that he is, by all measures, completely unsuited for it. As the
doctor at the beginning of Captain America: The First Avenger states, Steve would be ineligible for
service based on his asthma alone but that doesn t stop him from trying to enlist five times. While
there is an element of having something to prove to the world Steve s illness throughout his life and
society s reaction to it has left him with a chip on his shoulder a mile wide he also just plain wants to
help, because he sees it as his moral obligation to. Now, Bucky says that there are important jobs on
the home front, and Steve could do any one of them, but Steve denies this, saying There are men
laying down their lives. I ve got no right to do any less than them. Nearly 70 years later, Steve is
called back into service just over two weeks after having been pulled out of the ice, and he goes
without a complaint, even though he s still adjusting to the reality of his new world. Steve s own
mental well being is less important than his obligation to the rest of the world. Two years after that,
when Steve is forced to fight his best friend, he begins by asking Bucky not to make him do it and
then fights him anyway, because Bucky is standing between him and his avenue to save the world, and
Steve s duty to the world is more important than his own

Suspense And Forshadowing In The Landlady By Roald Dahl
Oh, I am, my dear, I am, of course I am. But the trouble is I m inclined to be just a teeny weeny bit
choosy and particular if you know what I mean. (pg 174, Dahl). The Landlady by Roald Dahl creates
suspense and foreboding with Billy Weaver, a seventeen year old businessman, looking for a place to
stay when he comes to Bath, England around nine o clock in the evening. On Billy s way to the Bell
and Dragon, a pub, he spots a illecebrous Bed and Breakfast which his eyes get transfixed by. He
enters the strange house to be greeted by a dotty debilitated lady. Roald Donald creates suspense and
foreboding with divine imagery and inconspicuous foreshadowing. But the air was deadly cold and the
air was like a flat blade of ice on his cheeks. (pg 171, Dahl). Firstly, we have the use of deadly cold,
which is imagery. It s a peculiar use of words, using deadly. Why is it deadly? It creates an eerie tone
and mood to the story. When you first read you glance over it, but subsequently you realize the
imagery was foreshadowing and creating a foreboding feeling. Secondly, the mention of flat blade is
another abnormal choice of words. Blade? Why blade? Blade, of course, because she uses a blade to
stuff creatures, and more importantly people. Although we only detect this later, this foreshadowing
creates a sense of foreboding, whether you notice it or not, because your subconscious realizes the
idiosyncratic word choice. Thirdly, they say flat ice blade against his cheeks. It s

Health becomes one of the public s main concerns for American people, hence we are becoming more
scrupulous to our diet. People believe that being overweight is the main cause of obesity. Therefore, it
is a common believe that processed food is the number reason of obesity. David H. Freedman,
however, opposes this view. He published his article How Junk Food Can End Obesity in the Atlantic
magazine stating that processed food is not as bad as we deem it is. Freedman claims that the whole
foods are equally fattening and unhealthy (507). As for my personal opinion, healthy is a very broad

However, by focusing on the concept of whole foods vs. junk foods, Freedman generalized junk food
as a whole to be healthy. It is true that there are certain processed foods have the proper daily
nutrients, but most of other processed foods are filled with unhealthy ingredients containing fats,
refined carbs, sugar, salt, and calories. Therefore, I feel that How Junk Food Can End Obesity is an
unfitted title for this article. Freedman also exaggerates the ability of the processed food: in fact, these
roundly demonized [fast food] companies could do far more for the public s health in five years than
the wholesome food movement is likely to accomplish in the next 50 (511). He is stating the processed
foods could make people become healthier in just a few years than the whole food would in decades.
Freedman has not only generalized the processed food to be healthy, but he has also generalized the
whole food to be unhealthy as well. As I have stated earlier, while the processed foods could provide
with all the necessary nutrients but it would be risky to say that processed foods are healthy as a

The purpose of this experiment is to oxidize ethanol and then to test the product to determine whether
it has been oxidised to ethanal or oxidised to ethanoic acid.
Method
We added 6cm³ of water to a pear shaped flask, then added 2cm³ of concentrated sulphuric acid, and
set up the apparatus as shown below, but with a stopper in place of the dropping funnel. We ensured
that all the glass joints were greased.

Safety
There were many hazards in the context of this experiment in some of the chemicals we used that we
needed to be aware of.
Using ethanol was a hazard as it was highly flammable above 13ºC and had a narcotic effect as a
result of inhalation of the vapour. It is also dangerous with oxidising agents as uncontrollable reactions
take place. To prepare for these hazards we needed to keep the solution away from the bunsen flame
and wear goggles in case any uncontrollable reactions happened.
The sodium dichromate we used was very toxic and could cause cancer by inhalation and was harmful
if swallowed or if contacted with skin sensitisation could occur. Ulceration also could have occurred
on damaged skin. It is also dangerous with combustible materials as it forms explosive or vigorously
burning mixtures. To prepare for this hazard we needed to be careful not to spill any and to wear lab
coats and goggles.
Sulphuric acid that we used is very corrosive and can cause severe burns. It is dangerous with sodium
as dangerous reactions could take place and also water as vigorous reactions occur when the
concentrated acid is diluted. To prepare for this hazard we needed to again make sure we wore lab
coats and goggles to protect our eyes, skin and clothing.

The twentieth century was filled with events that changed that path of our history forever. Throughout
the years, many religions were founded, radical groups, reforms happened, people s actions went
down in history, and there were many changes to the way that our nation is ran, including foreign
policy, leaders, and laws. Nationalism was one of the biggest influences on the twentieth century
because of the roles that it played in making the United States the way that it is today. Race was also a
factor in how changes were made to our laws, the events that transpired throughout those 100 years,
and the way that people were treated. Race has been an issue throughout our nation s history that we
cannot deny and is still an issue in today s society. The book Superfluous Men is a book filled with

The Devil s Arithmetic By Jane Yolen
Monster Versus Heroes Essay In the book, The Devil s Arithmetic, by Jane Yolen, the characters Rivka
and Chaya make some very interesting points. These two points contradict as they are total opposites
and they suggest two different things. We are all monsters, Chaya said, because we are letting it
happen. However, Rivka also says, We are all heroes here. These two points have two many different
perspectives on what people are like in the concentration camps. Both statements have their points, but
the mostly correct one goes to Rivka. One of the reasons for why Rivka is mostly correct is because
all of the prisoners are making the best of what they have and they are trying to help the kids feel
better, even with the situation of being locked into a concentration camp. I say this because it states on
page 135, The afternoon Gitl organized a rope and the children played jumping games after dinner.
This shows how Gitl had to go through the risk of stealing a rope just so the kids could have fun and

your future. Run. Run. Run. And remember. In this part of the story, Chaya performs a selfless act to
save Rivka and sacrifices herself in order to save one more life. This scene definitely shows how
people in the concentration camps help save each other. Although this scene only shows Chaya doing
a selfless act, the book only gives us a glimpse of how the Jews in the concentration camps take care
of each other. This is my final reason for why I think Rivka is mostly

Analysis Of The Little Princess
Texts and Their Time Periods Burnett s The Little Princess constructs the child as being feminine,
motherly, polite, and rich as the ideal princess should be. Nonetheless, Sara is also given a great
imagination which is unlike other princesses, and allows her to escape the conflicts she comes across;
in her portrayal of The Little Princess Burnett s idea of a child being subjected to isolation and left to
provide for herself is dealt with through the use of Sara s imagination. The Hunger Games takes a
distinct approach, rather than demonstrating an ideal princess that must survive by providing for
herself by using her imagination, Collins displays a strong and independent girl who must kill and
gain knowledge about the world she live in to survive. The shift in contemporary literature
demonstrates that in today s society a woman can do more than just be beautiful, and have a the brains
to care for a male; A girl can also be physically strong, independent, and provide for herself and
others. Both the texts reflect different ideas of the actions a child is obligated to take in order to remain
alive. Additionally, both texts generate different ideas about the ideal young lady and the traits they
were expected to poses at the time. The Little Princess was initially a play that was written in the
golden age of children s literature, a time when authors focused on gender differences. Durning this
time period one can infer that social class and race were important. Social class

really gets the reader going. James Fennimore cooper really gave a historical background writing the
novel last of the Mohicans. The novel represents the Mohicans (Mahican) and the parts of the history.
James Fennimore cooper really had an accurate novel and an outstanding point of view. The Mohican
tribe was really interesting and they originally came from the banks of the Hudson River, where it is
now New York State. They also lived in many other places but unfortunately the Europeans came and
killed many Mohicans. The surviving Mohicans had to move to the west. Later on the Mohicans
moved to Stockbridge where they live today. The Mohican children lived like any other child they did
there chores went to school and played games but there was a bit difference in today s children then in
the Mohicans back then. The Mohicans children used to do more chores then they would play but
what was really interesting is how they played the games, they were given miniature arrows where
they would hunt for small animals and would often play ball games similar to soccer but a bit
different, instead of using your feet you would use a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The women had to stay home farm take care of their children. Back then the men were the chefs of the
tribe where women were not allowed to become higher ranks than men, but in today s generation there
could be a Mohican politician. The men and women had many roles in the society women were more
of a stay home mom where the man had to go and hunt to provide for their families. The women had
to clean the house, farm the land and provide vegetation s in their lifestyle which helped the family.
The men had to go out and hunt to bring food also had to go to war to protect their

Dr Pepper Snapple Case
Case Summary In early September 2007, Andrew Barker emerged from a lengthy discussion on the
energy beverage market in the United States. As a brand manager for Snapple beverages at the Dr
Pepper Snapple Group, Inc., he was charged with assessing whether or not a profitable market
opportunity existed for a new energy beverage brand to be produced, marketed, and distributed by the
company in 2008. Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc. was the only major domestic nonalcoholic beverage
company in the United States without a significant branded energy drink of its own. The decision to
explore a new energy beverage was made by senior company management as part of a corporate
business strategy to focus on opportunities in high growth and high margin ... Show more content on

In the end, the pricing is the key factor to being successful. I will need to come up with a competitive
price that will be able to compete but also have high enough margins to where we can make it. 3.
Analysis: The analysis section will require me to evaluate each of the strategic options that we might
have. I am going to layout the pros and cons for: heavy users, all energy drink users and the adult
segment, as shown below in the appendices as figure 1 1. Single serve energy beverage drink retail
prices have generally settled at roughly $2.00 per single serve package, regardless of size. As a
consequence, larger single serve packages are priced lower on a per ounce basis than smaller
packages. Shown in figure 1 2, it shows that our drink Rush NRG will need to come down a little bit
in prices to be competitive and make margins meet. The 16 ounce size, representing about 50 percent
of case sales in convenience stores, has posted the fastest growth. Multi packs represent a small
portion of case sales and typically are marketed through supermarkets and mass merchandisers. When
coming to choose what version you want to make, it is obvious that regular energy beverages have an
80 percent share of the market; sugar free has 20 percent. Deciding what type of distribution to use
between off premise and on premise to me is a no brainer. Convenience stores accounted for 74
percent of off premise retail dollar sales. They also have a very high gross

Suburban Realism In The Swimmer
One of the primary aspects of literature that makes it multifaceted is its ability to reflect the attitudes,
beliefs, values, and customs of a particular time period or society by focusing on issues central to
these cultures. Thus, as civilizations have expanded globally, literature has also grown to
accommodate and reflect upon their problems. Once suburban neighborhoods and an upper middle
class began to rapidly emerge in the United States, American authors began to explore and uncover the
problems faced among the populations of these areas. Consequently, pieces of literature, particularly
short stories, began to fall within the aesthetic of Suburban Realism, which is defined as the fidelity to
actuality of the customs, manners, and habits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first problem Neddy encounters is that the Welchers pool is completely dry, which disappoint[s]
and mystifie[s] him completely (Cheever 160). It is at this moment that time become ambiguous
because it seems to Neddy that he last regretted an invitation to dine with the Welchers only a week
ago, yet the house is empty and for sale (Cheever 161). As it becomes apparent, Neddy is beginning to
lose his memory. This memory loss becomes increasingly conspicuous when Neddy cannot recall any
misfortunes that Mrs. Halloran apologizes for. Additionally, it is at the Halloran s pool that Neddy s
arms [become] lame. His legs [feel] rubbery and ache[d] at the joints (Cheever 162). By the time he
makes it to his former mistresses house and swims the length of her pool, Neddy realizes that the
strength in his arms and shoulders [is] gone, and he is compelled to climb out using the ladder.
Moreover, as he hobbles up his own driveway, he notices that the place [is] dark...He trie[s] the garage
doors...but the doors [a]re locked and rust [comes] off the handles (Cheever 165). The front door is
also locked, and he is unsuccessful in beating it down. It is at that instance that he realizes the place
[is] empty (Cheever 165). Neddy s loss of strength in a clear sign of aging, which enforces the idea
that Neddy s cross county

  • 2. The Consequences Of Racism In The Horror Film When someone mention Racism what comes to our mind? Most people think that Racism is the discrimination of one s race through their genetical and physical characteristics compare to the other race. Racism is easy to recognize and separate ourselves from easily. Former President Barack Obama stated that It s not just a matter of it not being polite to say nigger in public. That s not the measure of whether racism still exists or not. It s not just a matter of overt discrimination. • 3. The Dystopian Novel The Maze Runner The Dystopian Novel The Maze Runner has a rather dark and cold theme to it, yet some find the story to be lacking the naturalistic feel that some search for when they read. (We will be using theme by the verb definition while describing The Maze Runner in this essay.) The Maze Runner has a very tranquil feel to it and no matter what was happening it didn t feel real. Even as Thomas were being chased by the Grievers, leaving his dear friend and leader Alby behind hung like some wet clothes out to dry, some readers were not brought to the edge of one s seat like they expected to be. The way the characters are written and the way they interact really does not show that they have lived and survived together in the Glade like the author probably intended. Everyone is so separated, not a close bond in sight. No one actually has a color of their own other than that of some dingy, off colored green they all seem to share. All of the characters were pretty static. With the amount of hype everyone made this book out to be some can only say that they are deeply disappointed at how droll this whole entire book was. One of the hardest things in writing is getting the sensations and scenes in your head onto paper good enough for another person to read and see almost the same thing. It is a challenge, most authors can attest to that being the case. The problem with The Maze Runner is that no matter how hard the author tried some readers could not find oneself enraptured by this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lee s purpose is to create a story that many will love, while showing her views on racism and how she felt during this time. She creates a controversial tone in order to make people think about her views while also using familiar characters, which makes the readers eager to have an update on these beloved characters. Although this novel created racial tensions, Lee uses her writing skills, ethos, pathos, and logos by connecting the audience to the story and bridging a gap between the fictional world and reality. Lee s novel combines issues going on in the real world, while constructing a story that can relate to the readers. Lee s first novel made people think about how racism affects the world, and she instantly became a credible author. Lee was born in 1926, which makes her a primary source for the information on the racial outburst in the 1950s. In Lee s first novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, she uses the quote, You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view (Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird). This quote is arguably the most famous line from the novel, and it tests the readers to fight against racism. As an author during this time, Lee had the ability to educate the audience about the truth of what life was like in the south during this time, while offering a lovable and relatable story. Despite this, two refugees from Italy and Germany in the early 1940 s, Enrico Fermi and Leo Szilard were the first to ever produce a controlled chain reaction. Everyday situations, such as cooking, require reaction rates to be increased. To bake some cookies, you place them inside an oven. But why is that? Well, placing the cookies in the oven speeds up the rate of the reaction by heating it up. When the cookies have more heat energy, they cook faster. Additives may be added to foods to speed up the reaction. These are called catalysts. Likewise, we place milk in our fridges to slow down the reaction rate by removing heat and preventing the milk from going bad. This is because the milk would turn sour if we left it out near a window. (14) Enzymes are used to speed up biological reactions. When digesting food, enzymes are used as biological catalysts to speed up metabolisms. Excess heat from this is used to regulate the temperature of endothermic animals bodies. When a person is ill, their body temperature increases as heat fights bacteria by slowing down the rate of bacteria production. Respiration is another example of when reactions are sped up in biological systems. Rates of reactions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay on Modern and Post-Modernism Architecture There is often some confusion when people start talking about the post modernism and modernism in architecture in terms of their philosophical terminology differences. Modern architecture is known for its minimalism (Linder, 2004); buildings were functional and economical rather than comfortable and beautifully decorated. The post modernism architecture, however, is called a neo eclectic, significantly assuming the role of a regeneration of period styles for designing houses, and a never ending variety of forms and characteristics, asymmetrical designs for commercial buildings (Fullerton Heritage, 2008). In addition, today s architects cannot deny the modern architecture ways of designing any building. The main difference between these two schools is that the architects point of view to any design as a means of communication (Chan, 1997). Modern architecture, for example, focus on the aesthetics of architectural language, while post modernity adjust in constant effort to achieve what is more than unity and focus on the traditional concepts, therefore both schools are in competition with each other. Second basic principle of modern school is the production beauty by basic technology (Chan, 1997), and this led to a contradiction on the post modernism architects being attempted to use primitive technology. Their particular case is to access and change the impact of the traditional architecture through all people. The new requirement would especially impact securities fraud cases, where the range of investor losses can differ between a few hundred dollars (for individuals) and hundreds of millions of dollars (for institutional investors). Similarly, product liability claims would be more difficult to certify, especially those involving pharmaceuticals, because the symptoms, latent period, and extent of injuries often vary dramatically across class members. This new requirement is the change most likely to have the biggest impact on how class actions proceed, mainly because its language is vague and susceptible to differing interpretations. So, while on the one hand, the addition of a new requirement may decrease the number of cases that are allowed to proceed as class actions, on the other hand, there will likely be an increase in litigation dealing with how type and scope should be interpreted. But the trouble is I m inclined to be just a teeny weeny bit choosy and particular if you know what I mean. (pg 174, Dahl). The Landlady by Roald Dahl creates suspense and foreboding with Billy Weaver, a seventeen year old businessman, looking for a place to stay when he comes to Bath, England around nine o clock in the evening. On Billy s way to the Bell and Dragon, a pub, he spots a illecebrous Bed and Breakfast which his eyes get transfixed by. He enters the strange house to be greeted by a dotty debilitated lady. Roald Donald creates suspense and foreboding with divine imagery and inconspicuous foreshadowing. But the air was deadly cold and the air was like a flat blade of ice on his cheeks. (pg 171, Dahl). Firstly, we have the use of deadly cold, which is imagery. It s a peculiar use of words, using deadly. Why is it deadly? It creates an eerie tone and mood to the story. When you first read you glance over it, but subsequently you realize the imagery was foreshadowing and creating a foreboding feeling. Secondly, the mention of flat blade is another abnormal choice of words. Blade? Why blade? Blade, of course, because she uses a blade to stuff creatures, and more importantly people. Although we only detect this later, this foreshadowing creates a sense of foreboding, whether you notice it or not, because your subconscious realizes the idiosyncratic word choice.
