Practicum Placement
My first practicum placement for this semester, I was placed at Henry F. Moss

How to determine where the restriction enzymes, Ava II and Pvu II, sliced the DNA.

Methods For this experiment, we used two restriction enzymes called Ava II and
Pvu II. Four tubes were needed for the experiment as well. Each microtubule was
labeled accordingly, A, B, and C. Using Micropipettes, we added 2 microliters of
pUC19 DNA into each tube. To make sure the DNA was on the bottom of the tube,
we tapped each tube on the lab bench. Each tube had its own specific amount of
different solutions added on, however the final volume for each tube was 30
microliters. Tube A had, 24 microliters of DI water, 3 microliters of the buffer, and
1 microliter of the Ava II enzyme. Tube B had, 24 microliters of DI water, 3
microliters of the buffer, and 1 microliter of the Pvu II enzyme. Tube C had, 23
microliters of DI Water, 3 microliters of the buffer, 1 microliter of Ava II, and 1

In this project, Based on uniquely factorable constellation pair (UFCP) and space
time block code (STBC), a novel distributed concatenated Alamouti code is devised
for a one way relaying network consisting of two end nodes with each having a
single antenna and one relay node equipped with two antennas. Allowing the terminal
nodes and the relay node to transmit their own information concurrently at the bit
level, and turns the equivalent channel between the two end nodes into a product of
two Alamouti channels. thus, called UFCP concatenated Alamouti space time... Show
However, the relay nodes in currently available relay networks with distributed
STBCs just passively forward whatever they have received from the source node to
the destination without being able to transmit their own information. The
conventional strategy to realize information sharing is accomplished by allocating
orthogonal sub channels to relay such as time slots or frequency bands, operating
virtually at a packet level. This leads to significant delay. Despite the fact that this
method may work well for some networks with long coherence time, it will not be
applicable to a certain of strictly constrained delay systems. Motivated by all the
aforementioned facts, in this paper, we consider a one way relaying network
consisting of two single antenna terminals and one relay having two antennas. Our
main objective is to design a new distributed STBC for the network that allows the
source node and relay node to transmit information simultaneously at the bit level.
The primary idea of achieving this goal is to properly make use of the recently
developed concept of UFCP and the Alamouti coding scheme at the relay node. The
significant advantage of this novel code design is the optimal ML detector is
equivalent to a bit by bit detector.

Coral reefs are diverse and extensive underwater ecosystems that provide habitats for
around one quarter of the oceans species, an astoundingly high number considering

pH. As copious amounts of carbon dioxide are absorbed by the ocean, CO2 reacts
with the water to form carbonic acid, the substance which is having an immensely
adverse effect on coral reef systems. Severe or prolonged events of reef bleaching
have the capability to kill off entire coral colonies, leaving the corals and the species
that inhabit them vulnerable to other threats without much chance of survival or
resilience. The carbonic acid released into the water decimates a coral s ability to
build a calcium carbonate skeleton, and worsening acidification breaks down
previously existing skeletons, which aided in structurally supporting the reef. Above
all else, growing carbon dioxide levels facilitate higher amounts of carbonic acid in
ocean waters and, in turn, leads to reef bleaching.

small fort, slaughtering some 200 people. Then, they chased down the remaining
French Huguenots near a small inlet. Believing that his men would be well treated,
the leader surrendered to the Spanish. The Spanish slaughtered them to the last man
in an act that horrified the people of the age. Thus this beautiful location became
known as Matanzas or Place of the Slaughters.
Fort Matanzas was finished by the Spanish in 1742. It was meant to guard Matanzas
Inlet, the southern end of Matanzas River. The Spanish were worried the river would
serve as a back door to the city of St. Augustine. They built it of coquina shellstone,
naturally abundant in the area. The fort is a smaller square style with walls 50
foot long on each side and a 30 foot tall high tower. On the right hand wall of the
fort a small tower overhangs the wall. This was where the sentries were posted. The
fort was armed with five cannon aimed at the inlet and manned by one officer, four
infantrymen and two gunners. The fort was only involved in one skirmish in which it
successfully drove off a British fleet.
By 1821, the fort was unlivable. Restorations began in 1916. By 1924 the fort was
stabilized and it was given National Monument status. The National Park Service
