Movements and Art Gallery
a.Renaissance
Renaissance movement is a period which took place between 14th and 17th century.
It began in Italy and later spread to the rest of European countries. It was a cultural
movement which tried to invent what was intellectually referred to as humanism.
This period is characterized by a more natural reality in painting as well as
educational reform. (Brotton, 2006).
Latin and vernacular literatures became common in this period with emergence of
learning techniques based on classical sources. It is this period that shaped the
political and social structures in Italy.
The renaissance art work symbolized a rebirth in the cultural practices both in the
middle ages and in modern times. A number of works of art took place at this period
and propagated by different artists. The first artwork which featured during the

Romanticism
Romanticism is a movement which originate from Europe at a period towards the
end of the 18th century. The movement was at its peak at the era in between 1800
1850. It involve work of art, literary and intellectual work as well as musical part of
it and focus more on emotion and individualism. Glorification also characterized the
period. This period emerged as a reaction towards industrial revolution, the
enlightenment age as well as scientific rationalization of nature. (Gerald, 1987).
An example of a visual art performed during this romantic era is The Chancel and
crossing of the Tintern Abbey. This piece of painting occurred in 1794 and was
done by Mallord William Turner after he made two visits to Tintern Abbey a
monastery founded in 1131 but neglected in 1536. He was overwhelmed by the site
and painted a piece showing the smallness of man alongside the wilderness of
nature. The second example is Fishermen at Sea, work done by Turner still in 1794
where he sketched the sky, clouds and nature in general to show the wonderful
environment where man lives and the wonders of
The Problem Of The Homeless Hotspot
When was the last time you went somewhere, and the building was did not offer free
Wi
Fi? In this day and age many individuals are so technically attached, that they are
unable to go places without a Wi Fi connection. A large convention, in the southern
U.S., came up with an idea that they believe may aid in the process of having Wi Fi
wherever one may go. As well as help people who have become marginalized in
society (Maze, 2015). This idea is known as the
Homeless Hotspot . This idea not only is convenient for the public, but it is also
giving the homeless a chance to express their selves in a positive way.
In this case, the Homeless Hotspot idea began to start when the agency phoned up a
local homeless shelter and placed an offer out on the table. This offer consisted of
providing each volunteer with a 4G wireless Wi Fi device, business card, and a T
shirt with their name on it. In addition, each volunteer would receive $20 a day. On
this note, to homeless person this deal sounds great. However, to some of the
reactions the agency got from the civilians were not as pleasing as the homeless
peoples reactions were. This was because some felt as it was degrading to a
homeless person to use them as a Wi Fi hotspot. Other solutions that could have
been done instead of this could be; finding an alternative way to make a Wi Fi
hotspot without using a physical human being, or just deal with the fact there is not
any Wi Fi in that spot, and if one may need it that badly then

UNDERSTANDING TRUANCY PROBLEM FROM VARIOUS PERSPECTIVES.

Consistency refers to the means by which the attendance policy is put into practice
by everyone involved with the school. The school policy document needs to be
owned by all staff. The objective of the school policy document is to promote good
attendance and to implement a sound system for monitoring student behavior and
progress. Schools who keep accurate attendance records are better able to identify
truancy problems early. This includes noting tardiness, patterns of tardiness and/or
absences or absences around particular days (such as holidays) as these may be red
flags that there is a problem. In order for the policy to be effective, students must be
made aware of the policy, held accountable for their actions, and the policy must be
followed consistently. (Meaning the consequences for truancy, such as detention, in
school suspension, counseling, etc. are enforced each and every time a child is
truant). When a student is absent, make every effort to contact the parent and try to
figure out what might be going on. If time allows, call the parent during the day
instead of calling in the evening. The teachers should talk to the student about why he
/she was absent. Make sure that the student realizes that the teachers are aware of the
absences and care about him/her being in school. Parents play the fundamental role in
the education of their children. This applies to every family regardless of the parents

I Took A Philosophy Seminar

D Arms and Jacobson call this phenomenon the instability problem of affect, and
they wrote the article to explain how to solve this problem. In short, they take for
granted our colloquial notions of having senses of humor, shame, and so on and
propose more rigorous, moral psychology versions of them evaluative sensibilities
that they argue will address the instability problem.
Of the topics discussed in the seminar, I found the instability problem the most
interesting to think about, along with D Arms and Jacobson proposed plan of
attack: it is an easy to state problem that the vast majority of human beings are
familiar with, and that sets up a not so trivial dilemma (fleshed out below) when
meditating on day to day living. Taken together with the message from the first
excerpt below taken from [DS], I think this topic would easily engage a considerable
number of people. Given my proposed service project for the House, I wanted to take
a stab at making a tough philosophical topic as accessible as possible for the reader
U.s. Airlines Open Skies Program And Continuation Of...
CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Background of the Problem
With the introduction of the Open Skies program and the continuation of
globalization, U.S. airlines are facing stiffer competition. As the possibility of
cabotage
looms in the future, American passengers may have more opportunities to fly foreign
carriers both at home and abroad. Open Skies operations have commenced on
transatlantic and intra EU routes, meaning that choice of carrier has expanded for U.S.
air travelers abroad. EU authorities challenenged US authorities for the right to
operate
EU carriers within the U.S. domestic market, as well as the right to own larger shares
of
American carriers, by 2010. As of this writing, the U.S. has not recipricated these air

Base.
Statement of the Problem
As of 4 May 2012, the United States has entered into Open Skies agreements with
105 countries (Open Skies Partners, 2012). United States based airlines now have
more
competition than in the past and need a strategic plan to remain competitive. As a
part of
this plan, the airlines will need to possess an understanding of how consumer
perceptions
of safety, service, and cost will affect the amount of cross flow of passengers from
U.S.
airlines to foreign carriers in a domestic Open Sky market, as well as foreign markets.
Understanding which factors affect the customer s decision the most, and how U.S.
customers view foreign airlines, will be critical in understanding the shift in demand
resulting from increased foreign ownership and foreign airline access.
Significance of the Problem
If U.S. airlines do not understand the perceptions of foreign and foreign owned
airlines, they stand to lose market share and revenue in an Open Sky market. The
International Trade Administration and the State Department claim that the estimated
current economic value of the US EU open skies agreement is worth $12 billion
annually
to the airline industry and related industries. However, the increased
Darkness Alternate Ending
In the beginning there was only Darkness. He controlled everything and anything,
but nothing at the same time. There was nothing to control except Darkness:
himself. Darkness had a smug grin, a long black cloak, and the laugh of a villain.
He loved the dark and wanted nothing else but for everything to be dark forever.
There was a voice in his head that crushed his dreams and said, Someone is coming.
Your time as sole ruler has come to an end. Darkness will come to an end.
In that very moment he saw something bright walking toward him. His eyes closed
and he used his hands to shield them from the unfamiliar sensation. He yelled at the
light to shut itself off. As the light got closer, his eyes adjusted and he was able to

and a tear falls into it.
At that moment the urn becomes unlocked from its hiding place. Darkness s
sudden love has overpowered and has broken the lock. The urn speaks to him.
Darkness you have realised your mistakes. Sun will come back, but as for me, you
have turned me to embers. I cannot return to my original form. To fix your mistakes,
find a way for us to still be together.
Sun returns to Earth and greets Moon with a smile. Moon is ecstatic that Sun his

everlasting game of tag around the sphere. The grass came back and so did all of
the animals. Everything was back to the way it was and beautiful, just like it should
be.
Darkness thinks for a second, then notices Sun and Moon chasing each other
around the sphere. He realises what he needs to do. He waits until Moon brings the
dark. He takes Light s embers and sprinkles the shining pieces all over the dark sky.

Porphyria s Lover is a poem during England s Victorian society about an adoring
husband with hopes of equality for women. According to Masterplots II, The title
can be very misleading causing one to expect a perfect love relationship, perhaps
two lovers in a cozy cottage retreating from the storm described in the opening
lines. However, the perceptions reported by the lover soon alert the reader to his
unbalanced perspective (Dickinson 3068). A major theme occurring in Porphyria

some people in Victorian society. Madness is a theme Browning uses in two of his
works. The lover s love makes him go crazy. He decides that in order to control
what Porphyria does is to kill her. He knows she will not stay so he kills her. After
killing her he shows no emotion. According to Dickinson, A possible additional
thread of meaning may be derived from the knowledge that the poem was first
published with another poem, Johannes Agricola in Meditation and that the two
poems were later grouped under the heading Madhouse Cells (Dickinson
Who Is Sydney Carton A Hero
He is the slovenly dressed, inebriated lawyer. He is the earnest young man
confessing a hopeless love to a beautiful girl out of his league. He is the prisoner of
his apathy, voluntarily approaching Madame la Guillotine; his head held high.
Sydney Carton is one of the most dynamic and poignant characters in Charles Dickens
A Tale of Two Cities
(ATOTC). Some see him as the most heroic of heroes. Others
see him as a miserable drunk, welcoming death as a way to escape from a woeful
existence. As the novel progresses we watch him develop into a complex character,
and one we can all relate to.
Dickens initially describes his appearance as Careless and slovenly if not debauched ;
not quite your conventional hero. At this early stage Carton is by no means a hero,
not even close. In fact, he is merely a man and a significantly flawed one at that. In
saying that, we ve all read fairy tales; we know how these kinds of stories end.
Carton frequently alludes to the fact that his life has been wasted, stating that he
care[s] for no man on earth and no man on earth cares for [him] . Shown frequently
indulging in alcohol, we immediately depict Carton as a good for nothing drunk
who wastes his intelligence and youth on his alcoholic habits and lack of care for
much of anything including himself. Nonetheless, despite his countless flaws, we
aren t pushed to take any form of distaste to Carton. He has an affinity for alcohol,
true, but he is never violent nor profane some of the
Summary Of Marigolds
The Underlying Message Hidden Within Marigolds
In Eugenia Collier s short story, Marigolds, Lizabeth learns the hard truth of growing
up from losing her temper which blurred her morals. At a turning point in a girl s life,
she will painfully transition from childhood to womanhood. Collier masterfully
conveys this theme by her use of literary device foreshadowing, metaphors, and
symbolism several times in the narrative.
At the very beginning of the story, Lizabeth, looking back on her youthful days,
describes where she grew up. She reminisces the ...dry September of the dirt roads
and grassless yards of the shantytown.. which seem to come to life with the colorful
imagery (Collier 142). Alongside that, the current economical standpoint of the
U.S. in the story is revealed when Lizabeth mentions The Depression...was no new
thing to us, for the black workers in rural Maryland had always been depressed.
(142). This part of the story also reveals the mood for most of the story, which is
very serious and negative. Her community s financial state was also touched in the
metaphor Poverty was the cage in which we were all trapped. (142). Collier
wonderfully demonstrates how Lizabeth s community is sinking in their own
money crisis with the rest of the country in this quote. To add insult to injury, her
mother has to work into the dark hours of the day, while her father can t find a
holdable job.(Collier 146 147). To spare the time in their shantytown, Lizabeth and
her brother Joey were free to run wild in the sun... (143). More striking than
anything is the way Collier describes how Lizabeth views Miss Lottie s marigolds
They interfered with the perfect ugliness of the place: they were too beautiful... it
was the flowers we wanted to destroy. which could also foreshadow later events in
the story (144 145).
One night, while Lizabeth struggles to fall asleep, she abruptly wakes up to the
sound of her parents arguing. Upon closer inspection, she can hear her father say
Twenty two years, Maybelle, twenty two years... and I got nothing for you. (Collier
146). Her mother tries to calm his festered feelings of failure as a husband, which is
to no avail. Watching her family balance go into disarray, Lizabeth panics

The Comedy Show At Comedy Club Show By Daniel Tosh
And The...
Everyone loves comedy, it brings smiles with friends, and even laughter when you
re hurt. Being funny is a very sought after characteristic of most people. In today s
world, many people aspire to become famous comedians cracking jokes on their own
tour, or having their very own spot on Saturday Night Live or a ComedyCentral show.
From these, only a few succeed to become famous comedians. While most of the
comedians we know of today came from the Saturday Night Live show, one
particularly funny comedian Daniel Tosh came from doing stand up shows at
comedy club shows in Los Angeles. Tosh has been the host of the Comedy Central
television show Tosh.0 and the star of various stand up comedy specials and tours.
Tosh was born in Boppard, Rhineland Palatinate, West Germany. Tosh moved with
his family and grew up in Titusville, Florida, with his one brother and two sisters
and father who is also a Presbyterian minister. Tosh graduated from Astronaut High
School in Brevard County, later to attend The University of Central Florida
Graduating with a degree in marketing. After graduating Tosh, along with his dog
Castro moved to Los Angeles, where he became a comedian and still lives today.
Daniel Tosh is especially funny, and known for his very racist, and crude humored
jokes. Tosh is very good at going just over the line with his jokes, offending many but
not all. Tosh is funny for his unique and crude humor. Tosh is notoriously funny for

Reflective Essay On Being A Teacher
Being apart of the teaching field is often overlooked. Teachers don t get the
recognition they deserve. It takes time and effort to even be handed the degree.
Working for that degree you have to go through numerous of classes which ends up
with hours of studying outside of class. Leaving out the ACT, you have to have a 22
or higher score to be accepted into the teacher school. In my highschool experience, it
was a big change for myself. I had an I.E.P at the time and my caseworker was Linda
Rich. Not only did she impact my life but she impacted a lot of other teenagers look
on schooling. She was a Teacher assistant for two years at Lake Forest High School
also, a special ed and mainstream teacher since 1981. Before becoming a teacher
Rich wished people told her it wasn t always as easy as it looks. You can have a
whole lesson planned out with numerous amounts of examples and the next day
you go back to review, and the kids look at you with blank faces. With that being
said, it s not always the students that have a hard time. Each student learns
differently and at a different pace. Being the teacher you have to plan out different
methods of teaching the same material. I agree with what she stated. The role of
teacher is not always easy. You have to be ready for a whole lesson to fall apart but
it s your job to stay patient and re teach in a new way. I can agree with what Rich
said about learning a lesson and coming in the next day and not having a single
clue on how to do it. The stress and anxiety we feel when sitting there watching
them write examples on the board, is the same feeling the teachers get when
writing lesson plans. Have you ever been in class and finally something clicks in
your brain, your eyes light up big and you almost jump out of your seat? Most call
it the ah hah! Moment . That is the most rewarding thing as a teacher. As Rich
stated. It may not always be academically but socially too. Seeing the faces of kids
smile and laugh because they re in an environment you the teacher create is
something only teachers can understand. From experience and taking the course at
CLC where i learned hands on at a preschool I agree one hundred percent. As a
teacher it makes your whole day better
Explain How Individuals Are Taught To Become Good
Leaders
1.What is your initial reaction to the question, Are leaders born or can they be taught?
I personally thought and think that anyone can be a leader. I feel this way because
there are different kinds of leaders. I also think leaders can be taught by learning
from examples set forth from other great leaders.
2.Now, use the Internet and find at least three articles or sites that discuss leadership.
Based on your work, how is leadership defined? What are some of the best practices
of leaders?
Based on the information that I found leadership means a person who is able to
motivate, direct others to achieve goals and inspire along the way. One of the
practices that stood out to me was helping people to achieve what they think is the
impossible. Another practice I found to be amazing is being a leader is lifting others
up and serving those who work with you.

Explain how individuals are taught to become good leaders.
Leadership can be taught to the individuals that are willing to learn. They practice
by learning from mistakes and gaining experience along the way. Most leaders learn
from examples of other leaders. Additionally, Leaders never stop learning enabling a
person to become the kind of leader they want to be.
6. Finally, are individuals mostly born or are they taught to become successful
leaders? Explain. I think that most leaders are taught to lead. While a person may
have more of an outgoing personality trait than others it does not mean they cannot
be great leaders. As long as a individual is open to new learning experiences they are
able to lead. I do not think that people are just born to lead, a leader needs real world
education and experience. As long as, people are willing to learn every step of the
way and keep their work environment positive. By providing coaching and training

European colonization. The deal offered to the European with this doctrine was that
the United States would not interfere with European affairs along with stopping any

it would be viewed as acts of aggression and such acts required American s

Transgender History
In the E book Transgender History in the United States , Genny Beemyn looks back
on the past of transgender visibility and discrimination in America, citing those who
historically broke out of their traditional gender roles, and using these stories to prove
that there have been gender questioning people for millennia. Beemyn also helps to
differentiate crossdressing and being transgender. The author explains the
discrimination these people faced, how they lived their lives, and the ways they hid
their past identities. He supports this claim by first telling the story of Billy Tipton,
a jazz musician from the 1980 s. Beemyn explains how Tipton was defined female at
birth, but lived his life as man, and even ...avoided doctors and died from... Show

He explains that it is a common misconception that crossdressers and transgenders are
the same, when crossdressers continue to identify personally as their birth gender, and
transgender individuals identify as a gender other than what they were assigned at
birth, typically experiencing body dysphoria as well. This could certainly be
contributing to the issue of transphobia as well, causing confusion about whether
someone is just pretending to be another gender, or actually identifies as such.
Misconceptions and confusion such as this could be adding fuel to the fire over the
controversy of transgenders and bathroom laws, people believing that individuals
who are the gender they dress like are simply acting, doing it for personal enjoyment
or deceiving. Beemyn s purpose is to show how early on gender nonconformity has
lasted, and to get rid of misconceptions as to what being transgender actually

over the years. They had great success for a while with the most period being the
late 1970 s and Early 1980 s. They had several songs listed on the Billboard music

Ozzy Osbourne went through some tough times dealing with drug and Alcohol

Lego Of The Lego Group
Background
The Lego group was established in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen in Billund,
Denmark. Lego today is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. However,
that does not mean that they haven t had to make some changes along the way to
reach and stay at that position. Lego needed to change because of increased
expansion of their product line which lead Lego to the brink of going bankrupt. In the
year 2000, the Lego group had a huge sales growth. By 2004, they were projected to
lose somewhere around two billion dollars. This lead to talks about bankruptcy,
breakup of the company, or even the sale of the company. Regardless of the talks, it
was quite obviously that something had to be done before any of that talk became a
reality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kids were starting to lose interest in toys earlier than normal and became more
interested in electronic multimedia. The second change was that retailers who sold
Lego products were changing to become super stores like most are today. This lead
to manufacturers needing to now also compete for shelf space as well as
customers. The third change in the toy industry was that manufacturing was being
outsourced to Asia. The cheaper labor costs in Asia lead to companies pricing their
products lower. This and the US dollars worth going down hurt the Lego group
because there were more cheaply available products in the market. The last change
in toy industry was basically an exact copy of the Lego bricks that were being sold
cheaper than Lego s. These new competitors were able to produce a cheaper product
and bring new products to the market faster that Lego could. This became more
trouble when the court failed to give them trademark protection on the bricks.
Overall, these were the major occurring to the toy industry that lead to a needed
change by the Lego group.
Change Initiatives
As discussed in the background, the Lego company needed to make some changes to
avoid bankruptcy and the breakup of the company. To make these changes the Lego
group hired Jorgen Vig Knudstorp as their new CEO in 2004. These changes were
broken down into three phases that would eventually bring the company out of
potential bankruptcy. The three

it helps regulate body temperature, it protects the body against microbes and other

A personal conflict that I have recently encountered was among one of my
roommates and the rest of our household. Currently I live with four other
individuals. We all have our own bedrooms and our own space so it is possible that
we have our own places to go when our living situation tends to be a little too much
around the house. Now our schedules are all different, so we are not all home at the
same time, which can be both a positive thing and a negative thing. Now, one of our
favorite restaurants to venture to is a local traditional sushi and hibachi restaurant in
the area. One of our roommates, Travis, he is especially fond of this restaurant. The
specific conflict that we have recently encountered can be best summed up as the four

There was a sequence of events that happened earlier in the afternoon that led to
Travis ultimately being upset with us. Earlier that day he received a phone call
from his cousins, in which they told him they would not be waiting for him to get
off work in order to celebrate what they call, cousins day. This was extremely
important to Travis, so to feel already rejected by his family, he then felt even more
so rejected by his friends at home. Another one of our roommates was already aware
of the bad day Travis was experiencing. So he thought that maybe it would have
been given more consideration, because someone was aware of his unfortunate
situation with his family members. In consummation, Travis felt abandoned by
the most influential people in his life. While it may appear to not be exceptionally
important and frivolous, it had true significance to Travis. By searching for other
clues as to why this problem occurred, we were able to work backwards from a
puzzle, if you will. We had a matter of contention and in order to find resolutions
we had to dig a little deeper. The fourth step in understanding why there was a
conflict of interest between our roommates and Travis is identifying the root issue at
hand. What really caused Travis to be upset with everyone. And ultimately the
answer is that Travis felt as if his feelings were neglected and dismissed. While this

Black Americans And The Black Freedom Struggle
Many have thought that the end of the civil war was also the end of the
suppression against Black Americans. However, real freedom hasn t been present
to them. Discriminations against Black Americans were transformed and still
exist in other aspects. The life of a Black American was planned before he or she
was born, not much freedom in their hands. Black American experience
disadvantage and discrimination in many different institutions that all prove the
existence of Neocolonialism. From housing to education, formal and informal
social controls prevented them from equality and freedom. Moreover, Black youth
was forced to be in the pipeline of incarceration from school, because of the lack of
resources and attention to them. In this ongoing fight for Black Freedom, many
influential Black leaders stepped up. One of them is one of the most important
figures in the Black freedom struggle history, Ella Baker. This essay will first,
explain key issues on Black Americans freedom in housing and school to prison
pipeline, then identify Ella Baker s theory in the Black Freedom Struggle, and
finally define what freedom means. It s the American dream to own a house with
beautiful white fences and yard and live joyfully with families, but not many Black
Americans can live up to that dream. The hate and prejudice against Black
American didn t reduce much since the end of the civil war. I m not prejudice, but I

George Orwell Socioeconomic Class
As Orwell explores the concept of true tyranny, he also focuses heavily on
socioeconomic class in society. As outlined in the novel Winston reads in chapter
9 of book 2, Goldstein s purported manifesto, Orwell states that there are three
socioeconomic classes the High, the Middle, and the Low that have been present
in society forever. The Party s main philosophy is also outlined in The Theory and
Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism. Ingsoc, or English Socialism, is a political
theory that involves power. Unlike the previous governments of the time, Ingsoc
and the Party s main goals are power. We know that no one ever seizes power with
the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not
establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution
in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The

The Low cannot change their status in life as they are only treated as pawns for the
current Middle to use to aid them in uprooting the current High. After grasping
power, Ingsoc made a point of dismantling the class system in order to stop the
Middle and the Low from revolting once again. Despite the Party s emphasis on
collectivism, these three socioeconomic classes are very distinct in Oceania s society,
represented by the Inner Party, the Outer Party, and the Proletarians. The Inner Party
accounts for only two percent of the entire population and acts as the ruling class.
The Outer Party is the middle class of educated workers. Lastly, the Proletarian

Meditation
Meditating is easy. Anyone can do it. Theres many techniques and if you know one
that I am not covering here, feel free to edit this article and add it. In the first
technique, Ill cover the basics. Just sit and breathe.
Thats right. Breathe... inhale, exhale. You are sitting, you are thinking of
practically nothing except your inhaling exhaling. Now, concentrate. This is best
done somewhere you like. The objective of meditation is to imagine. Image what
you like to accomplish. You can increase your willpower through meditation.
Better yet, visualize yourself whatever you want to accomplish in life. Think about
it over and over again. What are you doing? What does success look like? Picture it
with as many details as possible. I am going to leave this article up to this point. If
you have some time, feel free to edit it. Another method is to relax starting with
your fingertips and toes, work your way up to you arms and legs etc. Then relax
your chest and stomach, then your head. You should be in a state of rest. I had best

I believe vision promotes and excels college alumni into accelerating career pathways
that promote autonomy, innovation, and leadership expressed independently and as a
team. Fostering the next generation builds the framework for the assumptions relied
upon to support the community needs for career ready hires. In addition, vision
aligns personal beliefs and career goals as a career services, director. I would
articulate, steward, and promote this vision to foster alignment with stakeholders
students, parents, and community leaders. In turn, encouraging career goals through
exploration through desires, needs, individual values, behavior and actions. Simply
the opportunity to lead in providing students with tools to make strategic and
informed decisions about the career paths.
Articulating a Vision I believe collaborative planning with faculty, career
development officers, and hiring recruiters from a shared governance perspective. In
addition, to articulating, developing and rolling out the vision and prompting
feedback to measure those expected outcomes. I would start by communicating with
those who teach, requesting structured curriculum to incorporate career opportunities
relative to their courses. The effective avenues to reach the masses would include
forums, press releases, college open houses, career fairs, website presence, faculty
retreats, courses and college wide updates all areas requiring community/workforce

The Pros And Consequences Of Malaria
Introduction
Infectious diseases are the leading cause of death all over the world [1]. Malaria,
also called plasmodium infection, is one of the most important human infectious
diseases threatening the lives of millions of people every year. According to WHO
malaria report, globally, an estimated 3.2 billion people in 97 countries and
territories are at risk of being infected with malaria and developing disease, and 1.2
billion are at high risk [2]. Although the disease has been eradicated in most areas,
it s still widespread in some regions [2]. The biggest challenges in controlling
malaria disease are the emergence of anti malarial drug resistance and insecticide
resistance in parasite and mosquito, respectively [3 5]. Therefore, there is an urgent
need to develop novel intervention strategies such as vaccines to reduce the burden
of malaria morbidity and mortality. Malaria is commonly associated with poverty
and has a major negative effect on economic development [6]. Oral vaccines offer
exciting possibilities for reducing the burden of diseases especially in developing
regions of the world. Oral vaccines are inexpensive, easily administered (needle free)
and capable of being stored and transported without refrigeration [7]. In contrast to
injected vaccines, oral vaccines are mucosal targeted, which cause stimulation of

Vast mountain ranges and rocky cliffs come to mind. Those are both some obvious
factors as to why agricultural practices may be hard in the region, but other than
physical boundaries, what are the difficulties of growing in this mountainous
region? I will surely need to know these if I plan to make a living off of growing in
the mountains. My fascination for how native tribes work with the land raised the
question of what crops were originally grown/are native, in Appalachia prior to the
European invasion bringing about other crops. Were these new crops brought in
essential for a growing population or were they destructive to the soil, being
invasive plants? Tying into the idea of native crops, I would love to look more into
the herbs found within the forests of Appalachia. Wanting to be a doula and
homesteader, I have found interest in researching the benefits of medicinal herbs on
the pains of childbirth. Finding those herbs right here in Appalachia would be ideal.
The encyclopedia had a section entirely on mushrooms. I did not dive into what it
said because at this point I am just seeking questions. I am wondering, however, why
do mushrooms grow well here? Is it simply because of the thick canopy of the forest
providing ample shade or do these mountains contain particular nutrients necessary
for mushroom growth? My father has always shown an interest in growing shiitake
mushrooms. I have never spoken to him about what sparked his interest, but living in
the Cherokee National Forest, which is neighboring the Appalachian Mountains, I

The Representation Of White People In The Movie World
Essay The way White people are portrayed can vary according to what part of the
world they are from. Most of the time when they talk about White people from the
South they get referred to as dumb.
We also get portrayed as rednecks sitting around drinking beer and shooting guns.
That is simply not the case most of the time. There are the select few that are like
that, but most of the people from the south are not like that. We also get seen as
super racist, but we are not. In the Marvel and DC film world white people are the
rich doctors. They are also seen as stuck up. In the DC films they are occasionally
racist in some parts. People like Tony Stark from the Marvel movies who get scene
as rich and immature can sometimes set the standard on how people look at any
white person with a decent amount of money. In a recent marvel movie Dr. Strange

Love Song
One of my favorite movies is The Fault in Our Stars . It is a movie of star crossed
love, complicated by tragedy. Both of the main characters are battling cancer and
one of them dies at the end. They fall in love and travel together. The characters are
both vulnerable, in need of help and love and at the same time, brave. Likewise,
Carol Muske Dukes LoveSong is about how love is complicated, wanting; it needs
and care. At the same time love can be brave and unpredictable. The poem shows
how challenging and demanding love can be. Love came from a need that was met
by the speaker. In both the movie and the poem love does not work out. In the
movie, a character dies, and in the poem, love does not guarantee anything either.

The mood of the poem is sad and the tone is dark. The bird, love, is in danger from

The poem uses personification to describe love as bird. Love is hungry, stubborn
because it refuses to fly and it pecks at the tin image of a faceless bird. The speaker

policy in the united kingdom is on social welfare provision. Social policy is
essential concerned with the practice and study of state, or government, social
welfare provision, and the healthcare and welfare systems. This assignment will
look at how social policy effectively utilises relevant historical perspectives taking
in account the reform of services to the children and families from 1601 The Poor
Laws. In particular it will discuss the impact of the changes made in legislations on
children, families and the early year s sector, which will include the green paper

established juvenile courts and introduced the registration of foster parents. Local
authorities were also influence by keeping poor children out of the workhouse and
protecting them from abuse. The act also prevented children working in dangerous

Symbolism In The Birthmark By Nathaniel Hawthorne
Nathaniel Hawthorne, in his short story The Birthmark (written and published prior
to 1843), contains the element of symbolism to present the theme of personal
beauty, regardless of physical appearance. More specifically, he speaks of the
appearance of Georgiana, the wife of Aylmer, who had a very large birthmark, or
blemish that appeared upon birth. God made every individual perfect, and made it
very clear that man not need go tampering with the beauty, inner or external, that God
gave someone at the moment of their birth birth. The style Hawthorne chose
describes each symbol with great detail . For example, when Hawthorne describes the
birthmark in detail; ...But if any shifting motion caused her to turn pale there was the
mark again,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Aylmer tries to destroy Georgiana s human nature [her birthmark, in
which born with], thus destroying her life, because she essentially contained no
beauty on the outside (Rosenberg, The Best The Earth Has To Offer). Aylmer
wanted to cure his wife from the birthmark she had that he so dreaded. He looked at
his wife as being Shocking (Hawthorne, The Birthmark). Another example would be
when Aminabad looked at Georgiana with the identity given to her, not the identity
her husband wants for her . ...Aminadab, looking intently at the lifeless form of
Georgiana; and then he muttered to himself, If she were my wife, I d never part with
that birthmark. Aminadab shows large levels of content with the appearance and
features of Georgiana, that he would have never tampered with the features given to
her at birth, opposed to Aylmer, who wanted to change the way she looked, that she
be more beautiful to him (Rosenberg, The best the Earth has to Offer). A third
example of this theme would be That Georgiana Wants Her husband to love her the
way she is, and in the beginning of the story, gets rather upset at him. Shocks you, my
husband! cried Georgiana, deeply hurt; at first reddening with momentary anger, but
then bursting into tears. Then why did you take me from my mother s side?
(Hawthorne, The Birthmark).
What Is Crazy Eddie A Hero

Crazy Eddie
Crazy Eddie was the name of what appeared to be a very successful retail electronic
chain. It was a front for a $100 million dollar scam masterminded by its owner, Eddie
Antar, and his cousin, Sam Antar. When the Feds came calling, Sam spilled the beans
and his testimony sent Eddie to prison.
Sam and Eddie grew up together in Brooklyn and Eddie offered Same a job at his
electronic store. The store became known as Crazy Eddie, a place where people
went to buy everything from typewriters to stereos. It didn t stay small for long, the
chain quickly grew to three dozen stores on the east coast with thousands of
employees. Sam became the CFO and Eddie was the boss. The stores were doing big
business but things weren t what it seemed. The fact was that behind the scenes, Sam
and Eddie were orchestrating one of the broadest and longest running white collar

going to end up at zero. Sarota had a unique inside into the Antar s, he had known

As more people were paying attention to Crazy Eddie, Auditors were called in,

he ordered his staff to take inventory. Only weeks after taking over the chain, he

and the Justice Department came crashing in. Sam was under fire from all sides,

The Interview Session That I Had With Pastor
This paper will discuss my reflection to the interview session that I had with Pastor
Stephen Paulsen. Stephen Paulsen is the high school Pastor at Venture Christian
Church. He has been a high school Pastor for about 13 years. Stephen has started his
ministry at Venture Christian Church since August 2014. Before working at Venture,
He began his first ministry in serving the high schoolstudents in South Carolina. He
has four kids (three boys and one daughter) and a beautiful wife. This paper will
reflect on the answers that I got during the interview, according to his experience in
his ministry.
The Next Generation Ministry Stephen s tasks for his ministry at Venture is to lead
and pastoring the high school students that come to this church. He started to
respond to God s calling in his life by taking seminary in Moody Bible Institute,
Chicago. He noticed the calling of God in his life since he was young. Another task
in being the high school student Pastor at Venture is to be involved in the outreach
ministry on the weekdays. His vision for the ministry is to see these students grew in
their relationship with Jesus since they were little. Stephen believes in the power of a
healthy community. That is why, besides the regular service on Sunday at 11 am,
they also have a small group meeting for the students every Tuesday. The meeting will
focus more on building a deeper relationship with the students by spending the time
with them, to have a fellowship, and get to
Is3350 Unit 3 Risk Analysis
Risk Factors
The following 5 risks have been identified as being material to the project. Listed is a
detailed analysis of those risks.
Risk 1)
Description of Risk The project does not get funded.
Cause Senior management determines that it cannot fund the project.
Likelihood of Occurrence The likelihood of occurrence is considered low. Senior
management initially commissioned the project. This was done to address risks
related to the current remote connectivity and the corresponding corporate goals of
expansion.
Severity of Impact The severity of the impact is considered high. The project would
be delayed or eliminated and the current risk to the organization would increase as
expansion plans were implemented.

implementing the environment is based on projected cpu and memory needs to

Severity of Impact The severity of the impact is considered medium. If user
application performance is negatively affected, the users will not be able to meet
their daily expected workload. In other words, users will not be able to complete their
assigned tasks timely.
Risk Response This issue can be mitigated by deploying additional server resources
to support the end users. To improve performance, a group of users would be
moved back to the original vpn access until the performance of the published
applications is considered acceptable. At that point the amount of additional server
resources needed can be projected and deployed to support the total user load. Once
these additional server resources have been deployed, migration of users back to the
published application environment can be resumed until all users have been
American Reconstruction After The Civil War
Many historians argue about the result of the reconstruction. By reading the sources I
concluded that the American reconstruction after the war was somewhat successful.
According to Frances after the civil war, the north sent many generals to the south to
control territories until the land was settling. According to her augments the claims
that the generals would force the people to bow down to them. People in the south
considered them as tyrants. Another thing that many people in the south were angry
about was the fact that most black in the south had more right to vote that some of
the whites themselves. She mentions that if blacks in the north could not vote why
the blacks in the south should (366). This clearly shows the high disapproval
German Economy Essay
Economics
The German economy is the largest in Europe and worldwide Germany has the
fifth largest economy ( World fact book , n.d.). It is clear that the German
economy holds a key position in the world marketplace. Gross domestic product
(GDP) growth is an important consideration for foreign investment as it speaks to
the overall health of an economy. GDP growth can be attributed to spending and
investments both on and from imports and exports ( What is GDP , 2005). In 2014
the reported GDP growth rate in Germany was 1.4%, up .9 % from the prior year (
World fact book n.d.). The Eurozone was deeply affected by a recession stemming
from the US and made worse by poor economic conditions in Greece and Spain,

In 2014 trade as share of GDP was 70.8 percent, down less than three percent from
the two years prior ( Merchandise trade , n.d.). This is one of those areas in which
only time will tell whether Germany will continue to prosper and be the financial
backbone of the Eurozone.
GDP per capita is also an important indicator of economic health. GDP per capita
takes the total output of a country and divides it by the number of people in a
countries population; this indicated the buying power of individuals. GDP per
capita in Germany as reported for 2014 was slightly over 47,000 USD ( Countries
with the largest , n.d.). Looking at GDP per capita when compared to other
countries in the Eurozone Germany is not fairing so well. Luxembourg leads the
world wide GDP per capita and that of the Eurozone with a high rate of 116,750 USD
( Countries with the largest , n.d.). Worldwide Germany ranks 16th in the Eurozone,
Germany was beat out by Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands
in GDP per capita ( Countries with the largest , n.d.). While the GDP per capita rate in
Germany is stronger than many other countries it is not competitive with other
countries which have economies comparable in size to Germany nor economies
centrally located in the Eurozone.
A low inflation rate averaging .91 percent for 2014 should help to increase purchases
in Germany. This is because consumers can get more for the

Army Professionalism
The purpose of this assignment is to explain how the US Army plans to develop
the character of its Soldiers while also instilling professionalism. The US Army has
moved on from the days of old where non commissioned officers verbally abuse
their subordinates. Gone are the days where Soldiers are considered roughnecks that
like to consume copious amounts of alcohol and engage in sparring activities with
the local populace. The Army is transitioning into a professional organization with
professional Soldiers filling in the ranks. This paper will explore what the Army
profession is, what an Army professional is, what Army ethics are, the bedrock of

is. Honorable service is more than just doing your time and getting out. It
encompasses service with distinction, with pride, and being a professional on and off
duty. Military expertise is being a subject matter expert in your career field as well
as being knowledgeable on all things Army. That will be a topic of discussion for
another day. Stewardship is is the responsibility of Army professionals to
strengthen the Army as a profession and to care for the people and other resources
entrusted to them by the American people. (ADRP 1, 2015) Finally, esprit de corps
is a traditional military expression that denotes the Army s common spirit, a
collective ethos of camaraderie and cohesion within the team. (ADRP 1, 2015) All
of these things combined make up the necessary and essential characteristics of the
Army profession. Now that we have explored all of the terms of the Army
profession, I hope you have a better understanding of what it means to be an Army

explain in detail the technologies that will make such a spaceship possible such as
electric or tether propulsion, life support, and garbage collecting means. It will also
explain the various hazards of prolonged stays in orbit such as space weather and

Orbital debris come from a variety of human activity in orbital space. One major
source of orbital debris comes from launched rockets and man made satellites[1].
When a rocket is launched, the upper stage booster that gives a spacecraft its final
boost into orbit is often left in orbit[2]. These boosters may stay in orbit for
decades and if there is still fuel remaining inside them they may explode and create
a cloud of debris[2]. One example was when a Chinese Long March 4 exploded on
March 11, 2000 [3]. The payloads of the rocket often contribute greatly to the
amount of orbital debris as well. In 2009, two satellites smashed into each other
and created a cloud of debris with over a 1,000 pieces longer than 10 centimeters
[4]. While collisions between debris do not add to the total mass of debris in orbit,
they do add to the number of smaller pieces and increase the chances of further
collisions in the future[4]. There were even cases where debris was created from
intentional destruction of satellites in order to test anti satellite weapons[5]. The
amount of debris is increasing with human activity in space.
The growing number of orbital debris inconveniences and even endangers future
space missions. Low mass particles often impact the solar panels of spacecraft in
orbit[6]. This creates a
Why Is Victor Frankenstein A Monster
Accursed creator! Why did you form a monster so hideous that even you turned
from me in disgust? God, in pity, made man beautiful and alluring, after his own
image; but my form is a filthy type of yours, more horrid even from the very
resemblance. Satan had his companions, fellow devils, to admire and encourage him,
but I am solitary and abhorred. Mary Shelley. In this quote you can see that the
monster is angry at Victor Frankensteinbecause Victor turned him into a hideous
monster. According to the book there is only one monster and that is the creature of
Victor Frankenstein. But you can also look at it in this way: Victor Frankenstein
made a monster, so is Victor then also a monster because of what he has created?
First the definition of monster:
1. Any animal or human grotesquely deviating from the normal shape, behaviour, or
character.
2. A person who excites horror by wickedness, cruelty, etc.
To begin with, Victor Frankenstein was driven by his ego. He thought that he had
found a solution to escape death. The only thing Victor really wanted was to bring
a dead person to life as fast as possible and therefore be famous. As scientist he didn
t began good with his project, he began straight with making the body without any
sort of testing. He also wasn t ethical, without permission he took organs and pieces
of body from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think they are both monster s. Victor Frankenstein is a normal man from the
outside but a monster from the inside and Victor Frankenstein s monster is a
monster from the outside but somebody who wants to be loved from the inside.
They both do monstrous things. Victor gave the death a new live and that s not the
way this world works, so it only could go wrong. The monster did murder people, but
only the relatives from Frankenstein nobody else. So coming back on the definitions
of monster. Victor Frankenstein is more number 2, because of the things he does. The
monster is more number 1 because of his

I am researching this because I am interested in medieval and roman weaponry and
how it works so it was a simple choice to make and test different weapons from
those eras. I am finding out which shoots the furthest the crossbow, the catapult, or
the slingshot and if I do not know how they work, I cannot compare them to each
other so I decided to research this.
My hypothesis is that the catapult will shoot the furthest and I think that I am right
do to previous research by professionals. But in other cases the catapult is made to
full size but in this case it is made to a scale factor of 25% of its original size so that
might affect the result because in the larger version there is more force on the launcher

Essay about Marriage Rituals Hinduism and Muslim
Marriage is a significant social event in contemporary society. It is a means of
building new bonds between two individuals and their subsequent families. The
foundations of memorable weddings are built on those that bring often distant family
and friends together for the occasion, while dressed in their most sophisticated attire,
surrounded by elegant flowers, a night of dancing, captured through the lens of an
exceptional photographer. Although Hinduism and Islam are two extremely
distinctive religions, their matrimonial customs do share some comparable elements,
like most other cultural weddingceremonies. In both religions, they are devotedly
obedient concerning religious and cultural practices in their marital ceremonies.

As well, Hindus and Muslims normally have their weddings taking place in their
homes or in the Mosque. Hindu weddings can last up to a few days or even to a
week. On the other hand, Muslim weddings last only one for a day.
According to Hindu doctrine, marriages are not considered binding and completed
without completion of certain traditional rituals by the bride and groom together.
There are eight types of marriages in Hinduism culture according to the Laws of
Manusmriti. All eight symbolize different groups of people and their beliefs in
humanity. The eight types include: Brahma, Daiva, Arsha, Prajapatya, Gandharva,
Asura, Rakshasa, Paishacha. The first four are considered proper (Brahma, Daiva,
Arsha, Prajapatya), whereas the last four are considered not to have religious
sanctions (Gandharva, Asura, Rakshasa, Paishacha). The Brahma marriage is when
the father gives up his daughter to a man after the man has spoiled her with costly
jewels and presents. Secondly, the Daiva marriage is when the daughter is given
away with ornaments to a priest at a religious ceremony. The third type of marriage,
the Arsha marriage is when the father gives up his daughter to a man after receiving
a bull/cow from the groom. A forth type of marriage is the Prajapatya marriage and
this is involves the father giving up his daughter to a man after bestowing them with
his blessings and addressing them: May both of you perform together your duties. The

  • 2. Renaissance Art Gallery Movements and Art Gallery a.Renaissance Renaissance movement is a period which took place between 14th and 17th century. It began in Italy and later spread to the rest of European countries. It was a cultural movement which tried to invent what was intellectually referred to as humanism. This period is characterized by a more natural reality in painting as well as educational reform. (Brotton, 2006). Latin and vernacular literatures became common in this period with emergence of learning techniques based on classical sources. It is this period that shaped the political and social structures in Italy. The renaissance art work symbolized a rebirth in the cultural practices both in the middle ages and in modern times. An example of a visual art performed during this romantic era is The Chancel and crossing of the Tintern Abbey. This piece of painting occurred in 1794 and was done by Mallord William Turner after he made two visits to Tintern Abbey a monastery founded in 1131 but neglected in 1536. He was overwhelmed by the site and painted a piece showing the smallness of man alongside the wilderness of nature. The second example is Fishermen at Sea, work done by Turner still in 1794 where he sketched the sky, clouds and nature in general to show the wonderful environment where man lives and the wonders of
  • 3. The Problem Of The Homeless Hotspot When was the last time you went somewhere, and the building was did not offer free Wi Fi? In this day and age many individuals are so technically attached, that they are unable to go places without a Wi Fi connection. A large convention, in the southern U.S., came up with an idea that they believe may aid in the process of having Wi Fi wherever one may go. As well as help people who have become marginalized in society (Maze, 2015). This idea is known as the Homeless Hotspot . This idea not only is convenient for the public, but it is also giving the homeless a chance to express their selves in a positive way. In this case, the Homeless Hotspot idea began to start when the agency phoned up a local homeless shelter and placed an offer out on the table. This offer consisted of providing each volunteer with a 4G wireless Wi Fi device, business card, and a T shirt with their name on it. In addition, each volunteer would receive $20 a day. On this note, to homeless person this deal sounds great. However, to some of the reactions the agency got from the civilians were not as pleasing as the homeless peoples reactions were. This was because some felt as it was degrading to a homeless person to use them as a Wi Fi hotspot. Other solutions that could have been done instead of this could be; finding an alternative way to make a Wi Fi hotspot without using a physical human being, or just deal with the fact there is not any Wi Fi in that spot, and if one may need it that badly then

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Congress called for a Constitutional Convention in 1970 in response to public cry for a new constitution to replace the colonial 1935 Constitution. An explosion during the proclamation rally of the senatorial slate of the opposition Liberal Party in Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila on August 21, 1971, prompted Marcos to suspend the writ of habeas corpus hours after the blast, which he restored on January 11, 1972 after public protests. Martial Law (1972 1981) Using the rising wave of lawlessness and the threat of a Communist insurgency as justification, Marcos declared martial law on September 21, 1972 by virtue of Proclamation No. 1081. Martial Law remained in force until 1981, when Marcos was reelected, in the midst of accusations of electoral fraud. Marcos, ruling by decree, curtailed press freedom and other civil liberties; closed down Congress and media establishments; and ordered the arrest of opposition leaders and militant activists, including his staunchest critics Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. and Senator Jose Diokno. Initially, the declaration of martial law was well received, given the social turmoil the Philippines was experiencing. Crime rates plunged dramatically after a curfew was implemented. Political opponents were given the opportunity to go into exile. But, as martial law dragged on for the next nine years, excesses by the military emerged. Consistency refers to the means by which the attendance policy is put into practice by everyone involved with the school. The school policy document needs to be owned by all staff. The objective of the school policy document is to promote good attendance and to implement a sound system for monitoring student behavior and progress. Schools who keep accurate attendance records are better able to identify truancy problems early. This includes noting tardiness, patterns of tardiness and/or absences or absences around particular days (such as holidays) as these may be red flags that there is a problem. In order for the policy to be effective, students must be made aware of the policy, held accountable for their actions, and the policy must be followed consistently. (Meaning the consequences for truancy, such as detention, in school suspension, counseling, etc. are enforced each and every time a child is truant). When a student is absent, make every effort to contact the parent and try to figure out what might be going on. If time allows, call the parent during the day instead of calling in the evening. The teachers should talk to the student about why he /she was absent. Make sure that the student realizes that the teachers are aware of the absences and care about him/her being in school. Parents play the fundamental role in the education of their children. This applies to every family regardless of the parents station in
  • 6. I Took A Philosophy Seminar To fulfill Rackham s Ph.D cognate requirement, I took a Philosophy Seminar/Video Conference Course in Fall 2013 taught jointly by Prof. Daniel Jacobson here at UM and Prof. Justin D Arms at Ohio State. The seminar served to alpha test a new manuscript Rational Sentimentalism they had been collaborating on. In value theory, a sentimentalist (i.e., both D Arms and Jacobson) is anyone who believes there are human values that can only be tracked by studying how people exercise their emotive physiological resources; any theory of value that a sentimentalist proposes is called a (response dependent) sentimentalism or sentimentalist theory. By contrast, a non sentimentalist believes that any human value the sentimentalist might point to can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... D Arms and Jacobson call this phenomenon the instability problem of affect, and they wrote the article to explain how to solve this problem. In short, they take for granted our colloquial notions of having senses of humor, shame, and so on and propose more rigorous, moral psychology versions of them evaluative sensibilities that they argue will address the instability problem. Of the topics discussed in the seminar, I found the instability problem the most interesting to think about, along with D Arms and Jacobson proposed plan of attack: it is an easy to state problem that the vast majority of human beings are familiar with, and that sets up a not so trivial dilemma (fleshed out below) when meditating on day to day living. Taken together with the message from the first excerpt below taken from [DS], I think this topic would easily engage a considerable number of people. Given my proposed service project for the House, I wanted to take a stab at making a tough philosophical topic as accessible as possible for the reader

Open Skies operations have commenced on transatlantic and intra EU routes, meaning that choice of carrier has expanded for U.S. air travelers abroad. EU authorities challenenged US authorities for the right to operate EU carriers within the U.S. domestic market, as well as the right to own larger shares of American carriers, by 2010. Statement of the Problem As of 4 May 2012, the United States has entered into Open Skies agreements with 105 countries (Open Skies Partners, 2012). United States based airlines now have more competition than in the past and need a strategic plan to remain competitive. As a part of this plan, the airlines will need to possess an understanding of how consumer perceptions

Understanding which factors affect the customer s decision the most, and how U.S. customers view foreign airlines, will be critical in understanding the shift in demand resulting from increased foreign ownership and foreign airline access. Significance of the Problem If U.S. airlines do not understand the perceptions of foreign and foreign owned airlines, they stand to lose market share and revenue in an Open Sky market. The International Trade Administration and the State Department claim that the estimated current economic value of the US EU open skies agreement is worth $12 billion annually to the airline industry and related industries. However, the increased

There was a voice in his head that crushed his dreams and said, Someone is coming. Your time as sole ruler has come to an end. Darkness will come to an end. Moon is ecstatic that Sun his back: he missed his dear friend. Like children, Sun and Moon started playing an everlasting game of tag around the sphere. The grass came back and so did all of the animals. Everything was back to the way it was and beautiful, just like it should be. He takes Light s embers and sprinkles the shining pieces all over the dark sky. You are the light in my darkness, so I want you to be theirs

He is the prisoner of his apathy, voluntarily approaching Madame la Guillotine; his head held high. Sydney Carton is one of the most dynamic and poignant characters in Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities (ATOTC). Some see him as the most heroic of heroes. Others see him as a miserable drunk, welcoming death as a way to escape from a woeful existence. As the novel progresses we watch him develop into a complex character, and one we can all relate to. Dickens initially describes his appearance as Careless and slovenly if not debauched ; not quite your conventional hero. At this early stage Carton is by no means a hero, not even close. In fact, he is merely a man and a significantly flawed one at that. In saying that, we ve all read fairy tales; we know how these kinds of stories end. Carton frequently alludes to the fact that his life has been wasted, stating that he care[s] for no man on earth and no man on earth cares for [him] . Shown frequently indulging in alcohol, we immediately depict Carton as a good for nothing drunk who wastes his intelligence and youth on his alcoholic habits and lack of care for much of anything including himself. Nonetheless, despite his countless flaws, we aren t pushed to take any form of distaste to Carton. He has an affinity for alcohol, true, but he is never violent nor profane some of the
  • 12. Summary Of Marigolds The Underlying Message Hidden Within Marigolds In Eugenia Collier s short story, Marigolds, Lizabeth learns the hard truth of growing up from losing her temper which blurred her morals. At a turning point in a girl s life, she will painfully transition from childhood to womanhood. Collier masterfully conveys this theme by her use of literary device foreshadowing, metaphors, and symbolism several times in the narrative. At the very beginning of the story, Lizabeth, looking back on her youthful days, describes where she grew up. She reminisces the ...dry September of the dirt roads and grassless yards of the shantytown.. which seem to come to life with the colorful imagery (Collier 142). Alongside that, the current economical standpoint of the U.S. in the story is revealed when Lizabeth mentions The Depression...was no new thing to us, for the black workers in rural Maryland had always been depressed. (142). This part of the story also reveals the mood for most of the story, which is very serious and negative. Her community s financial state was also touched in the metaphor Poverty was the cage in which we were all trapped. (142). Collier wonderfully demonstrates how Lizabeth s community is sinking in their own money crisis with the rest of the country in this quote. To add insult to injury, her mother has to work into the dark hours of the day, while her father can t find a holdable job.(Collier 146 147). To spare the time in their shantytown, Lizabeth and her brother Joey were free to run wild in the sun... (143). More striking than anything is the way Collier describes how Lizabeth views Miss Lottie s marigolds They interfered with the perfect ugliness of the place: they were too beautiful... it was the flowers we wanted to destroy. which could also foreshadow later events in the story (144 145). One night, while Lizabeth struggles to fall asleep, she abruptly wakes up to the sound of her parents arguing. Upon closer inspection, she can hear her father say Twenty two years, Maybelle, twenty two years... and I got nothing for you. (Collier 146). Her mother tries to calm his festered feelings of failure as a husband, which is to no avail. Watching her family balance go into disarray, Lizabeth panics

  • 17. Reflective Essay On Being A Teacher Being apart of the teaching field is often overlooked. Teachers don t get the recognition they deserve. It takes time and effort to even be handed the degree. Working for that degree you have to go through numerous of classes which ends up with hours of studying outside of class. Leaving out the ACT, you have to have a 22 or higher score to be accepted into the teacher school. In my highschool experience, it was a big change for myself. I had an I.E.P at the time and my caseworker was Linda Rich. Not only did she impact my life but she impacted a lot of other teenagers look on schooling. She was a Teacher assistant for two years at Lake Forest High School also, a special ed and mainstream teacher since 1981. Before becoming a teacher Rich wished people told her it wasn t always as easy as it looks. You can have a whole lesson planned out with numerous amounts of examples and the next day you go back to review, and the kids look at you with blank faces. With that being said, it s not always the students that have a hard time. Each student learns differently and at a different pace. Being the teacher you have to plan out different methods of teaching the same material. I agree with what she stated. The role of teacher is not always easy. You have to be ready for a whole lesson to fall apart but it s your job to stay patient and re teach in a new way. I can agree with what Rich said about learning a lesson and coming in the next day and not having a single clue on how to do it. The stress and anxiety we feel when sitting there watching them write examples on the board, is the same feeling the teachers get when writing lesson plans. Have you ever been in class and finally something clicks in your brain, your eyes light up big and you almost jump out of your seat? Most call it the ah hah! Moment . That is the most rewarding thing as a teacher. As Rich stated. It may not always be academically but socially too. Seeing the faces of kids smile and laugh because they re in an environment you the teacher create is something only teachers can understand. From experience and taking the course at CLC where i learned hands on at a preschool I agree one hundred percent. As a teacher it makes your whole day better

My Sci Fi Of The Earth Of A Space Hao Lin Yang 0834238 My sci fi paper will be something along the lines of A day in the life of a space garbageman set a few decades in the future when an orbital spaceship has been developed that can track down and remove space debris from orbit. The article will explain in detail the technologies that will make such a spaceship possible such as electric or tether propulsion, life support, and garbage collecting means. It will also explain the various hazards of prolonged stays in orbit such as space weather and effect of microgravity on a human. Space Debris Space debris is any particle, whether natural or man made, floating around in space[1]. This paper will focus on man made space debris in orbit around earth. First, will define ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Orbital debris come from a variety of human activity in orbital space. One major source of orbital debris comes from launched rockets and man made satellites[1]. When a rocket is launched, the upper stage booster that gives a spacecraft its final boost into orbit is often left in orbit[2]. These boosters may stay in orbit for decades and if there is still fuel remaining inside them they may explode and create a cloud of debris[2]. One example was when a Chinese Long March 4 exploded on March 11, 2000 [3]. The payloads of the rocket often contribute greatly to the amount of orbital debris as well. In 2009, two satellites smashed into each other and created a cloud of debris with over a 1,000 pieces longer than 10 centimeters [4]. While collisions between debris do not add to the total mass of debris in orbit, they do add to the number of smaller pieces and increase the chances of further collisions in the future[4]. There were even cases where debris was created from intentional destruction of satellites in order to test anti satellite weapons[5]. The amount of debris is increasing with human activity in space. The growing number of orbital debris inconveniences and even endangers future space missions. Low mass particles often impact the solar panels of spacecraft in orbit[6]. This creates a

God, in pity, made man beautiful and alluring, after his own image; but my form is a filthy type of yours, more horrid even from the very resemblance. Satan had his companions, fellow devils, to admire and encourage him, but I am solitary and abhorred. Mary Shelley. I am researching this because I am interested in medieval and roman weaponry and how it works so it was a simple choice to make and test different weapons from those eras. I am finding out which shoots the furthest the crossbow, the catapult, or the slingshot and if I do not know how they work, I cannot compare them to each other so I decided to research this. My hypothesis is that the catapult will shoot the furthest and I think that I am right do to previous research by professionals. But in other cases the catapult is made to full size but in this case it is made to a scale factor of 25% of its original size so that might affect the result because in the larger version there is more force on the launcher and in the crossbow there isn t as much tension build up. Crossbow Slingshot Hooke s Law F=KX F=Force K=Constant factor constitutes characteristics of spring and stiffness. X=Distance Hooke s Law is a physics principle the says that the force needed to pull something back in this case by some distance is directly proportional to that distance s is a constant factor that factors in the spring and stiffness. Pulling back on the string creates elastic energy and when the string is released the elastic energy forces the string to go forwards therefore transforming the elastic energy to kinetic energy which transfers into the arrow when the string reach s limit of extension. On the other hand, Muslim weddings last only one for a day. The eight types include: Brahma, Daiva, Arsha, Prajapatya, Gandharva, Asura, Rakshasa, Paishacha. The first four are considered proper (Brahma, Daiva, Arsha, Prajapatya), whereas the last four are considered not to have religious sanctions (Gandharva, Asura, Rakshasa, Paishacha).
