Essay On Characteristics Of A Good Leader
Writing an essay on the characteristics of a good leader can be a challenging task that requires a
thoughtful and comprehensive approach. The difficulty lies in the need to analyze and articulate
the multifaceted qualities that define effective leadership. A good leader is not a one-
dimensional figure; instead, they embody a combination of traits, skills, and behaviors that
contribute to their success in guiding and inspiring others.
One challenge in crafting such an essay is the vast array of leadership characteristics to consider.
Leadership is a nuanced concept encompassing qualities like communication skills, empathy,
decisiveness, integrity, adaptability, and many more. Narrowing down the focus and providing a
cohesive argument while acknowledging the interconnected nature of these traits can be
demanding.
Moreover, writing an essay on leadership requires a balance between theoretical concepts and
practical examples. Theoretical frameworks and models of leadership need to be explained and
applied to real-world scenarios to illustrate their significance. This requires in-depth research and
critical thinking to present a well-rounded perspective.
Additionally, addressing the evolving nature of leadership in different contexts adds another
layer of complexity. What makes a good leader in a business setting might differ from qualities
required in a political or community leadership role. Adaptability and the ability to recognize the
context-specific demands of leadership further contribute to the essay's complexity.
Furthermore, the challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and presenting a fresh perspective. Many
essays on leadership tend to use common phrases and generalizations, making it essential to find
a unique angle or insight to stand out. A thorough understanding of the subject matter is crucial
to avoid superficial analysis.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the characteristics of a good leader demands a careful blend
of theoretical knowledge, practical examples, and a fresh perspective. It requires in-depth
research, critical thinking, and the ability to synthesize information cohesively. Despite the
challenges, a well-written essay on leadership can provide valuable insights into the qualities that
contribute to effective leadership.

How Does Charles Dickens Use Parallelism In A Tale Of
Two...
Parallelism is a balance within one or more sentences of similar phrases or clauses
that have the same grammatical structure. In the first paragraph of A Tale of Two
Cities, Charles Dickens explains disputable ideas about the aspects of pre
revolutionary France. He shows the similarities between the French and English
Nobility by using parallelism.
Charles Dickens establishes, with his list of parallel contrasts, that the time period
was not just one of denial, but that they were extreme in their degree. He also implies
that every period shares these same differences, and that it is a part of human nature.
Dickens apparent opinion of the list of complaints that the Continental Congress of
1775 sent to Parliament is that Dickens is referring
Similarities Between The Aleph And The Zahir
Some similarities between The Aleph and The Zahir is the fact that in both stories,
the narrators clearly have the same name, Borges. In both stories the main
characters, in a way, deny what they have seen. In The Aleph, Borges states that he
has not seen the Aleph just so that he could get revenge on Carlos. In The Zahir,
Borges sees a psychiatrist and instead of directly talking about the problems he is
having because of the Zahir, he states that it is insomnia. Even though the Aleph and
the Zahir are different in how they are perceived, they both are described as small
circular objects. Differences between The Aleph and The Zahir are the effects they
have on the characters. In The Aleph, whoever sees what is in the Aleph... Show more

I was not really into reading at the time, but I remember that my teacher made us
read for at least fifteen minutes at the beginning of every class. If we did not have
a book there were many books from her library to choose from. I believe this was
one of the first books that I read in her class, and think I chose this book in
particular because it stood out. I mean the title itself already piqued my interest. I
honestly did not think that I was going to enjoy it as much as I did, It was such a
bizarre read with all the strange events and abnormal characters. And in a weird
way, the strangeness of the story was what I really liked. I do not think I would
have liked it as much if it was not for that. It was one of the first chapter books that
I did not have to force myself to finish. This was also one of the first books I read that
really got me into loving to read. I just loved getting lost in another world and I
wanted to keep reading books that did that for me. When I read A Very Old Man
With Enormous Wings, by Gabriel GarcГa MГЎrquez I was reminded of the time I
discovered that I needed glasses. In the story, towards the end, there is a part where
the old man becomes extremely weak that they thought he could die. It also mentions
that his eyes became foggy and he starts bumping into things because he obviously
can not see. This part of the story brings up the memory of me realizing that I
Physical and Chemical Agents Pose a Threat to Human
Health...
When categorizing environmental agents in regard to human health, physical,
chemical, and biological agents each pose different and great threats. All can have
potentially extremely dangerous short term and long term effects. In my opinion,
biological agents pose the greatest threat to human health. It is crucial to point out
that circumstantially, any of the three could pose the greatest threat, but in general, I
believe biological agents do so. I find biological agents to be the most unavoidable
with the most severe consequences, in general, of the three categories. Biological
agents, coming in a variety of forms, have unique abilities amongst themselves and all
categories of environmental healthagents. Bacteria holds the ability to... Show more

They, like chemical and biological agents, have come a long way in terms of
prevention and treatment. Physical agents, however, are more similar to chemical
agents in that it is easier to limit, or at least decrease, exposure of an entire country
than it would be to stop a disease epidemic, for example. Biological agent
prevention has significantly improved, especially with vaccines, but even vaccines
can be dangerous if given to the wrong person. Although it would be difficult to
prevent all exposure to any agent, being cautious about x rays and ensuring proper
ventilation in a new building are feasible, while limiting exposure to biological
agents is made difficult by the variety of hosts walking around with the capability of
secondary infection. Displaying an example of a biological agent is the H7N9 (bird
flu) epidemic in China beginning in 2013. Xinhuanet English News presents the
epidemic clearly. While many vaccines exist for viruses, none will be administered in
the foreseeable future for H7N9. They had already reached 96 human infections with
19 deaths in 2014 as of January 27. Fortunately, this epidemic currently has a slow
transmission speed and no supporting evidence to suggest consistent human to human
transmission, but it is addressed that single human to human cases are not ruled out.
This case is relevant and supports the argument of biological agents posing the
greatest threat to human health out of the
Comparison Of The Progressive And Populist Movement
The Progressive and Populist Movements of the Late 19th and early 20th century
were both movements that sought to give specific groups in the population better
representation/rights as a whole. The Populist Movement began due to major
economic changes brought on by the railroad. Farmers could no longer make a
living selling their crops due to overproduction leading to low prices. The Populist
Partywas established in order to promote the economic and political interests of
farmers. One notable member of the Populist Party was William Jennings Bryan, a
Presidential candidate who believed in inflating the money supply and the coinage
of silver. The party would go on to create Granger Laws, laws designed to place
government regulations on railroads.
Reasons To Get Rid Of Cockroaches
Most people love to keep their homes clean and frequently spend time to make sure
that it reflects their personality. However, for various reasons, pests make their way
into homes at will and take over. It is an unpleasant experience to see bed bugs on
your expensive Egyptian cotton bedsheets and cockroaches walking in the kitchen
cabinets containing your fanciest china. You need to deal with them before it is too
late. Irrespective of the types of pests that have attacked your personal space, you
need to hire a professional pest control company to get rid of them instead of trying
to handle it on your own. Here are a few reasons why: Pests, whether they are
cockroaches, mosquitoes, bed bugs, spiders, etc., are not just annoying. They carry
Gender Roles In The Film A League Of Their Own
A League of Their Own is a very impacting movie that depicts the impact of women
in sports throughout the 1940s. During this era, men were away in World War II,
leaving the women to take their spots in many of their duties. Baseball had been a
very well known sport throughout the country. Women playing baseball was
unordinary, however it quickly grew to be very popular which led to the
inauguration of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League. This was a
way for the women to get out, have fun, and relax with other females. The film
presents several traditional genderstereotypes and femalelimitations in sports, some
which still exist today. Because of the outcomes of the war, Major League Baseball

appealing entrepreneur with a dark side led to rumors that the name Louis refers
to the key villain Nathaniel Essex, also known as Mr. Sinister. The description
seems to match the character of Mr. Sinister in all the points. Additionally, the list
names a female named Vera who is in her mid 20s and early 30s. She is described
as tough, fiery, beautiful, smart and unpredictable. Reports suggest that this
description belongs to the female lead in Gambit Bella Donna Boudreaux. The
character is a childhood friend of Remy LeBeau or Gambit himself. The list also
describes a young man named Nash who is in his mid 20s and early 30s and a
malevolent threat. It is also stated that he is the heir to his mother s business. The
description led to conclusions that Nash is none other than Julien Boudreaux, or Bella

Measuring The Knowledge Of Students Assessments Are
Needed
When gauging the knowledge of students assessments are needed, however they must
ensure that the assessing the actual abilities of the student not just the ability to
remember and recall information. All too frequently, students are given assessments
too often that do not measure their knowledge level, but instead emphasizing
concepts that administrators find useful. These concepts are normally too vague and
not relatable to the student and the knowledge he/she needs to continue to learn
throughout life. Simply, administering assessments that are based on numbers, words,
and vague concepts is not a useful practice for measuring the knowledge level of
students. The standard base test are too confusing for even the teachers, they must...

Administrators need to remember that the time it takes to establish a strategy to
deploy the needed materials to the students, can be better utilized within the
classroom. The monetary values that the schools are placing on test scores, are unfair
and undeserving to the students. It is seeming that their efforts are becoming dollar
values, this factor places undo stress on administrators, teachers, and students to reach
objectives that may be unrealistic for their environment. Assessments should build
upon the strengths of the student and assess the new concepts and abilities, the
student has ascertained throughout the duration of the school year. By creating such
rigorous standards, assessment makes have established a system of failure that no
student should have to endure. Based upon my understanding of assessments,
students do not always have to be assessed using paper and pencil. There are other
methods that will give the student and the teacher a better gauge of what the student
knows. There are several manners in which students knowledge can be evaluated. The
normal prescriptive lesson plan that schools require teachers to teach on specific days,
is no longer useful.(site, pg 22) Today s classroom needs innovative teaching
strategies and assessments that utilize non prescriptive manner of teaching. Ones that

PlayStation. I don t get much time to follow the motorsport statistics and how the
real world is doing in the motorsport but I play a lot of games for example, NASCAR
Sprint Cup, Formula One, Moto GP, Need for Speed and Forza Motorsport. When I
visited the drag racingevent in Terre Haute, I become more interested in Drag
racing. In some point in my life after finishing up college and having a stable
career, I like to get more involved in F1 powerboat racing in Florida. It is more fun
and water motorsport is something really of my interest.
In general, I like to be involved in all kinds of water sports. Formula one Powerboat
racing is my favorite and the most interesting part which fascinates me about it is
the speed on the water. It is the fast race on the water in the world. According the
Formula One H2o website, it states that Powerboats runs faster than even the
formula one race cars and the F1 boats are capable of going from 0 to 160
kilometers per hour in only 4 seconds (F1H2o). It is great as this is independent from

Supply Chain Models
Zara and Benetton s supply chain both share some common components within their
supply chain models, but a few distinguishing factors make them their own. All
supply chain models must include planning, designing, maintenance and control of
all materials and information in order to efficiently satisfy its customers needs and
wants (Schroder, 2000). Zara being known for their fast fashion is claimed to take
only two weeks to develop a new product and have shipped to stores, and ready for
shelves. Zara is a vertically integrated retailed, meaning that their supply chain is
owned by their company and usually each member of the supply chain produces a
different product or service. Unlike other apparel retailers, Zara controls most of the
steps included in their supply chain, including designing, manufacturing and
distribution of the products. Zara uses a just in time (JIT) system, with this model it
allows the company to have self containment throughout the stages of materials,
manufacturing, product completion and distribution.
On the other hand, most of the manufacturing of Benetton is done by the company
itself. But the supply side is heavily consisted of contractor s which are companies
owned, or part owned by Benetton employees. Employees that provide services to the
factories,

fired. Leo Khan a former rival in the retail industry approached Stemberg with and

Male Characters In Federico Garcia Lorca s Blood Wedding
Federico Garcia Lorca, a playwright known for his strong connection to leftist views,
masterfully reflects the events and characters in his play Blood Wedding, to the
tensions leading to the Spanish Civil War. With this intention/Henceforth, the two
main male characters, Bridegroom and Leonardo, represent the two major political
parties of Spain in the 1920 s and 30 s, Nationalists and Republicans. In this essay,
parallels will be drawn to connect how Lorca symbolizes the tensions leading up to
the Spanish Civil War, in his play Blood Wedding.
In the 1920 s and 30 s, Spain was under a lot of political strain and tensions, which
would eventually lead to the Spanish Civil War. There was a major political divide
between the Republicans and Nationalists. Nationalists, the right wing government,
had a major supporter base consisting of: landowners, military leaders, and the Roman
Catholic Church. On the other hand, Republicans who were the polar opposite, being
the left wing administration, had supporter base consisting of: urban workers,
agricultural labourers, communists, and the educated middle class. The Republican
aim was to create a modern democracy by limiting the power of the army and the
Roman Catholic Church and empowering trade unions and owners. Conversely,
Nationalists had a more conservative aim which was to protect those who were
powerful and wealthy, keep Catholicism the predominant religion in Spain, and
creating a powerful army. With this in mind, it is quite

I found it interesting that DeVore does not give a salary amount for the college
graduate, so we have no way of comparing the two instances. For example, what if
the college graduate made only $30,000 a year with a degree in arts, or what if she
made $100,000 a year with a degree in business? Thus, we have no way of knowing
how unfair this situation really is to the mother who graduated college. I think
DeVore should have also discussed how many hours the other woman works at her
minimum wage job, for the sake of a complete and logical argument. The ambiguity
in the amount of hours she works, reminds me of a Humans of New York post I read,
where a single mom of three worked ninety five hours a week at three different jobs,
so that two of her children could go to Yale and the third child could attend Colombia.
This post highlights how the author does not consider the many external factors that
exist beyond his hypothetical scenario. I think DeVore needs more substance in his
hypothetical situation to show how the government wrongs the college graduate and
to emphasize the importance of a limited government.
His next point regarding government tax incentives and how they can limit the free
market has more validity. Tax breaks are the government s way of rewarding

The Security Environment That Is Shaping The Joint
Force...
The security environment that is shaping the Joint Force 2025 (JF25) is incredibly
complex and rapidly evolving. Challengers to security and stability include two
aggressive competing powers (China and Russia), two nuclear capable regional
hegemons (North Korea and Iran), and a persistent threat of terrorism to the
homeland. The global commons are contested and access to the space and cyber
domains are no longer guaranteed. Fiscal constraints limit the available means for the
Joint Force (JF) to meet these challenges and therefore increases risk to
accomplishing the national militaryobjectives.
Despite the complexity of this environment and fiscal austerity, the JF25 must protect
our Nation and win our wars. It must deter and defeat state adversaries, disrupt and
defeat terrorist organizations, and strengthen the global network of allies and
partners. The prioritized capabilities required for Joint Force 2025 are linked to the
imperatives of securing the homeland and maintaining strategic agility. This essay
discusses general attributes of the JF, specific capability requirements by service, and
the risk associated with focusing the rebalance on these two imperatives.
Strategic guidance on the general attributes of JF25 is provided in the Quadrennial
Defense Review (QDR) and National Military Strategy (NMS). An important
attribute is the ability to rapidly project military power to deter challengers and win
decisively. Rapid force projection is central
Clubfoot Essay
CLUBFOOT
Clubfoot is defined as a congenital foot deformity characterized by a kidney shaped
foot that turns inward and points down. The forefoot is curved inward, the heel is
bent inward, and the ankle is fixed in planter flexion with the toes pointing down.
Shortened tendons on the inside of the lower leg, together with abnormally shaped
bones that restrict movement outwards cause the foot to turn inwards. A tightened
achilles tendon causes the foot to point downwards. The medical term for clubfoot is
talipes equinovarus . It is the most common congenital disorder of the lower
extremity. There are several variations, but talipes equinovarus being the most
common. Clubfeet occurs in approximately 1 in ... Show more content on

The majority of clubfeet results from abnormal development of the muscles, tendons,
and bones while the baby is forming in the uterus. Genetic and environmental factors
in the development of the fetus seem to also be some of the causes. The disturbance
of the normal growing foot probably occurs at about the eighth week of pregnancy.
The cause of the foot growing deformed is unknown, but believed to have something
to do with heredity. Many cases of clubfoot do not have easily identifiable causes.
The goal of treatment is to achieve and maintain as normal as a foot as possible. The
extent of the required treatment varies, depending upon the rigidity of the foot.
Treatment may take several months, but most children learn to crawl, stand, and walk
at the normal age. There are a couple different ways to go about treating clubfoot, the
two most perfered being manipulation and casting, and surgery.
Clubfoot is most common in children who suffer from spina bifida who have an L4
or L5 motor level. Many orthopedic surgeons instead of serial casting suggest early
taping and gentle manipulation followed by an application of a well padded splint.
The reason for this is because serial casting can cause skin irritations and breakdown.
Another technique manipulation and casting is a treatment that begins shortly after
birth. It involves slowly stretching out the tightened muscles and holding the foot in

The Dark Side Of The Sky
The sky seemingly never appears to alter here. Each day stands through with the same
proceedings transpiring from end to end, unchanging. The first hints of day, slinking
through the unlit and gleaming upon the entirety of the city. Streaks of gold, ocher
and cerise, spilling along the horizon, streaming overhead the skyline. Tales of where
the sunis described as scorching, flaming sometimes even as blazing and golden ball
in the skywould be the sort of thing her mother would tell her. The old woman
would go on and on, voicing out fairy tales she had heard when she was a mere
adolescent; stories she had caught during her travels as an adult. Growing up, the
only thing that came even close to what she described was a faint, dim honey glow
during what she said was daybreak. Even now, the sun right here and now cannot
compare to the sun in her stories. It s continuously blending in with the sky the same
sky that never changes colors the same sky that remains the same, lackluster shade
of grey and it is that sky that strikes her as intriguing. She constantly finds herself
looking up at the sky, whether if marveling at the magnificence of it all, or cowering
at its vast expense. The sun almost seems like a stain on it; an insignificant little spot,
unsound of any and all things bright or radiant.
Morning is just about the only time of day that she actually enjoys. Compared to the
other times of day, morning is by far the liveliest. To the stretch of noon, the sky

The Environmental Issues Of California Water Crisis
After 4 years of intensive drought, California declared a state of emergency in
January 2015 and California water crisis has been one of the biggest
environmental issues in America (US. Geological Survey, 2015). On April 1,
2015, the governor of California, Jerry Brown, visited Sierra Nevada to measure
the amount of snowpack, which has been done annually, and a formidable result
came out. The measurement of snowpack of Sierra Nevada of this year met only 5
percent of the April 1 average. According to the record, it is the lowest number
since 1950. So the governor Jerry Brown ordered a 25% cut in urban water use in
California(Cava, 2015) between June 2015 and February 2016(Circle of Blue, 2015).
For the first time in the history, the mandatory water reduction enforced in
California, and in order to accomplish the order, Californians should have better
knowledge about the water that we daily consume. The aim of this paper is to
observe the supply, distribution, use, and disposal of the water in California.
Where does the water come from?
California gets water supply from three sources: groundwater, surface water, and
rain and snowfall. Groundwater supplies the most water in California. In the first,
according to a report from California Department of Water Resources, 45 percent of
statewide annual water supply for a normal season is groundwater, and up to 60
percent in dry days (2015). Groundwater is water underground, but not under the
lakes or streams; it is from pores

With such devastation and failure of not really discovering or finding anything,
Bartolomeu Dias felt terrible. Although with such luck, on their way back to
Portugal, Dias discovered the Cape of Good Hope near the southern tip of Africa. He
originally named it the Cape of Storms due to all the violent storms in the area, but
king John then renamed it to the Cape of Good Hope. After Dias s massive
discovery, he returned to Portugal in December, 1488. Due to Dias s brilliant
discovery, he was later on employed to go on another voyage. A month later,
Bartolomeu Dias unfortunately passed away due to a ship wreck at sea near the
Cape of Good Hope during a storm.
Literary Analysis Of Rene Magritte s The Son Of Man
Part of human nature is to find faces in images whether they are supposed to be
there or not. So, Rene Magritte purposely made the face unseeable behind the
apple. In his painting, there is more than what meets the eye. The way in which he
executed the piece is simple yet it still makes those who see the art wonder what it
represents. As like any artwork, successes and failures can be found in Magritte s
art and how well it portrays the meaning behind the piece. The Son of Man when
examined closer, can be more interesting than one might think. Representation lies
in every form of art. There is the literal representation, and there is the abstract
figurative way of viewing. Simply, the painting shows a man with an apple in
front of his face and a storm taking place behind him. Many think the fruit is
referencing the tale of William Tell in which he shot an apple off his son s head.
Since in Magritte s painting the fruit is floating in front of him, this alludes to him
about to be shot in the face. Others quickly think religion inspired the work. The
Son of Man sounds eerily close to Son of Man, which is Jesus title. Also, the green
fruit could be from the famous tale of the Garden of Eden where Eve took a bite
from an apple and committed the first sin. Neither of these are wrong, but Rene
Magritte states, Well so you have the apparent face, the apple, hiding the visible but
hidden, the face of a person... There is an interest in that which is hidden and which
the visible

implementations in the multimedia technologies, users find it complex for retrieving
information with traditional image retrieval techniques. The CBIR techniques are
becoming an efficient techniques for exact and fast retrieval of images. CBIR is the
technique which uses visual features of image such as shape, color, texture etc, to
search the image based on the user requirements from large database according to
the user request in the form of a query. In this paper various techniques of CBIR
such as k means clustering, k nearest neighbors Algorithm (KNN), color structure

Analysis Of Hatchet By Gary Paulsen
The book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen is about a boy, Brian, who had many struggles
with survival after he was stranded in a Cessna 406 with his dead pilot who just had a
heart attack. He had trouble with his surrounding as he used his intellect to prevail in
difficult survival situations. Brian had trouble with blood thirsty insects, chaotic
animals, finding food and many more obstacles. Brian struggles with many
challenges throughout the book, but overcomes them all. One of the obstacles he
overcomes is the swarms of ravenous insects that come out at sunset and sunrise. To
show how excruciatingly painful the bugs were, the narrator states, ...and with the
heat came clouds of insects thick, swarming hordes of mosquitoes that flocked to his

They would trick his eyes into thinking nothing was there, when in reality the
foolbirds were sitting mere inches away from his head. The only way Brian could
see them is if they had just flew away or exploded and were to far away from him.
To show how much the animals tormented Brain, the narrator describes the
situation, Then there were the foolbirds. They exasperated him to the point where
they were close to driving him insane. The birds were everywhere, five or six in a
flock, and their camouflage was so perfect that it was possible for Brian to sit and
rest, leaning against a tree, with one of them standing right in front of him in a
willow clump, two feet away hidden only to explode into a deafening flight just
when Bian least expected it (Paulsen,130 131). One day when hunting for the
foolbirds, he got really frustrated when a foolbird a few inches away exploded
when it flew away. When the bird was escaping over the lake, the sun s rays
reflected off of the bird and Brian had an epiphany about hunting them. Instead of
looking for the colors and feathers of the bird, he had to look for the pear ish shape
of them. After realizing his mistake, he also understood that when hunting for the
birds that he would have to approach their side rather then straight ahead. The next
few birds he saw he got close to, but he only caught his first foolbird a couple of

Team efficacy
Definition: Team efficacy is defined as the collective belief among team members of
the team s capability to successfully complete a task . Teams are more successful
when their members work together with a collective effort and confidence. High
efficacy team means more motivation and challenge goals set, with an increase of
team performance. (McShane Von Glinow, 2015, p. 242).
Summary: In the article Effect of Cohesion on the Curvilinear Relationship Between

when errors are made due to overconfidence, and been less vigilant. What will be the
reason for a team to become overconfident? Maybe the reason can be found in the
team members motivation and because they believe in their superior capabilities?
Studies have demonstrated that high cohesion effect team efficacy, and that
overconfidence might be experienced because team members are engage in self
enhancement such as a cohesive teams. While I believe that team members should
be confident in their duty and in decision making, check and balance must be in
place to prevent potential errors. Efficacy may represents a confidence that can be an
important resource that members can draw on in times of adversity . (Lvina Maher
Harris et al, 2016).
Team members and efficacy are also affected by their organization. The rewards and
accomplishments are very high when the team members have available the necessary
resources from their organization that, will result an in increased in role and extra
role performance (Du, 2015).

Sigmund Freud And The Grinch
Sigmund Freud who was an Austrian neurologist believes that personality consists
of three interacting structures: the id, the ego, and the superego. The Grinch was
a very angry person, he had demonstrated so much aggression towards the who s
which lead to the destruction of the who s Christmas. The fact that his desire was
to ruin the who s Christmas proves that he is a heartless human being. The id
demands immediate satisfaction and when this happens we experience pleasure,
when it is denied we experience pain. The Grinch has had a rough childhood. As a
child he did not fit in, because of his looks, as he was just different from others. His
miserable childhood is the true cause of his aggression. This is where his id takes
over. The Grinch
Neighbors By J Cole Analysis
The song Neighbors by J cole is a song about how he feels people in the world
today view the black community and how they are treated by authority and civilians.
One of the lines that he raps is Travon kind of fate, this line obviously referring to
the death of Trayvon Martin; the young black boy viciously murdered by a white
man. Another line that hits home with a lot of his fans is the line, cops bustin down
the door with army guns no evidence of the harm we done, this line referring to the
treatment of blacks throughout the country by police officers. I feel that this song
really speaks out about the current situation we are dealing with in this country with
lingering racism and inequality. The Montgomery Bus Boycott starter in 1964
Definition Of Organizational Management Approach
Assignment Choice #1: Organizational Management Approach Analysis
Historical approaches to management have influenced contemporary managerial
theories and approaches (Colorado State University Global Campus, 2015). Current
approaches and designs can be greatly aided by looking seriously at what clever
minds attempted in the past (Cummings Bridgman, 2011, p. 90); however, historical
conventions should not restrict thinking in the future (Cummings Bridgman, 2011).
First, a contemporary theory, Organizational Knowledge Theory, will be discussed.

Organizations must be able to learn in order to be successful (Colorado State
University Global Campus, 2015).
For a learning organization to be successful, they must use effective and ethical
communication. Effective communication is one of the four components of
organizational structure (Colorado State University Global Campus, 2015). It is
certainly necessary for the entire organization (not just one silo) to benefit from any
learning that occurs. Knowledge must be shared (Colorado State University Global
Campus, 2015). New information must be integrated and disseminated to the entire
organization (Starkey, 1998). By disseminating information on a total system basis,
Starkey (1998) identified that:
This creates an antidote to the silo phenomenon when one part of the organization
does not have access to what the other parts know, therefore, it cannot learn from
them or understand where its own knowledge fits into the overall picture. (p. 537)
The Organizational Knowledge Theory is strengthened by communication, and this is
the approach to management that my organization takes.

Dante s Inferno, By Dante The Pilgrim
Dante, Inferno Throughout the epic poem Inferno, Dante the Pilgrim travels in the
different circles of Hell told by Dante the Poet. The story examines what a
righteous life is by showing us examples of sinful lives. Dante is accompanied by
his guide Virgil, who takes him on a journey to examine sin and the effects it has in
has in the afterlife to different sinners. Through the stories of Francesca and Paolo,
Brunetto Latini, Ulysses and Guido da Montefeltro, we are able to understand that
people are self interested in the way they act and present themselves to others and
that those in Hell are there because they have sinned and failed to repent their sins
and moral failings. The story of Brunetto Latini teacher us to use the gifts we... Show

Francesca was married to Paolo s brother and one day while Francesca and Paolo
were reading the story of Lancelot and Guinevere, and when they got to the romantic
part of the story they confessed to each other and kissed. Francesca s husband found
out shortly after and had both of them killed. Francesca s sin was not only adultery,
but also failure to accept her own responsibility for her actions. In the story of
Lancelot is about the fall of Camelot and the consequence of adultery, which shows
that Francesca and Paolo knew what they were getting themselves into and that there
would be consequences. Francesca blamed Paolo for everything, as if she didn t
have control over anything that happened. This is shown when Francesca is
explaining to Dante why she is in hell. Love, that excuses no one loved from loving,
seized me so strongly with delight in him, (Dante, Inferno, V, line 103 104). From
this we can clearly see how she is completing blaming her actions solely on love
rather than standing up and taking responsibility for the actions she has committed.
She said that love held her down so strongly that it drew her to Paolo and that she
had no way of escaping. After hearing this, Dante becomes faint, for Francesca has
seduced him, she disguised her sin with a love story, making it sound like she had no
fault at all. From the story

The President told the American people that they would have to watch their energy

And OPEC, which once virtually dictated world oil prices by manipulating supplies,
failed in two attempts to persuade its members to cut production by just 2 percent.
Environmentalists were dismayed because cheap oil meant a continuing lack of
economic incentives to develop or switch to alternative energy sources. Average
regular gasoline prices at the pump fell in January to $1.06 per gallon, obliterating
the effects of the small energy tax imposed by the federal government the previous
October to encourage conservation.
United States? oil companies were unhappy with the low prices because 15 percent
of the 6.6 million barrels per day they are capable of producing comes from wells that
are very expense to operate. Oil executives estimated that they needed prices of about
$18 per barrel to keep such wells profitable. By mid year, oil prices had inched
upward but still hovered below $17 per barrel ? low enough to keep people ?hooked

Despite the bargain basement prices, many electric utilities continued to reduce their
reliance on oil in order to comply better with the 1994 Federal Clean Air Laws. Such
utilities, along with certain other industries, are capable of switching fuels. But, last
year, the companies tended to stick with natural gas, which burns cleaner, even when
oil would have been cheaper.
The main problem in the electric area of energy is that no one wants to use energy

The Consequences of the lockout the season is increasing popularity in other

Kelman and Hamilton note that in an authority situation, individuals
characteristically feel obligated to obey the orders of authorities, whether or not
they correspond with their personal preferences (Kelman Hamilton 139). Humans
are more likely to follow the orders of a superior or one who appears to be a
superior ( When Good People do Bad Things). Rod Powers would develop that by
stating in his article Military Orders that military discipline and effectiveness is
built on the foundation of obedience to orders as well as courts have held military
members accountable for their actions even while following orders (Powers).
Szegedy Maszak writes that psychologist Herbert Kelman explains that one of the
three traits that contribute to one harming another is authorization (Szegedy
Maszak). If this information is true then Col. Jessup would act however he pleased
due to the fact that he was the highest ranking official at the Guantanamo Bay Base
in Cuba; he had no one to follow or hold him accountable to the ethics of a marine.
As an authority figure, no one questioned his authority; Jessup knew that they could
not question his order to perform a Code Red. For instance how Rajeev Purohit

Impact Of Gold Rush On Australian Identity
A gold rush is a large scale and hasty movement of people to a region where gold
has been discovered (Unkown, 2018). There were multiple gold finds before 1851
but none of them caused gold rushes, then in 1851 the first Australian gold rush
started. As soon has people had heard of payable gold in Australia they started
flocking from all over the country and even overseas which was a major economy
boost for Australia and helped it to become the nation to which it is today. The

Basic Buddhism Essay
The basic Buddhist teachings provide guidance on how to minimize suffering and
maintaining inner peace. The essence of basic Buddhism is referred to as the Three
Jewels . This consists of Sanskrit, Triratna, and Pali which is also considered the
Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The four noble truths basically provide a path to
reality. It concurs that suffering exist, because there is reasoning behind it. The cause
also has an ending, in which the noble eightfold pathprovides the relief to suffering.
The eightfold path provides the passage way to inner peace. You must be able to
understand, develop the right intention, be honest in what you say, create actions that
prevent hurting another being, commit to the right work, remain consistent in your
efforts because meditation creates awareness, and with that it creates inner peace
within an individual.
The three marks of reality are change, no permanent identity, and suffering. Change
requires a person to understand that experiences will never remain the same. No
permanent identity provides the knowledge to look within an object or a person and
see that there are several parts that makes up a singular form. These parts consistently
changes, which allow a singular form to create new experiences. The body parts ...

through a number of characteristically different types of revolutions that liberated the
Spanish and Portuguese colonies from the oppressive rule of the Iberian powers.
Much of the desire for independence, or at the very least for social and political
change, in Latin Americawas fueled by Enlightenment thought and political upheaval
across the Atlantic and it was informed by the French Revolution, Napoleon s rise to
power in Europe, as well as the successful Haitian Revolution, much closer to home.

When Napoleon s troops invaded Portugal, the king, John VI, fled with his family
to Brazil. The creoles of Brazil, while they wanted to maintain their social authority
and privileges, felt culturally different than the Portuguese and desired
independence. When John VI eventually returned to Portugal, he left his son Pedro
in Brazil. Local elites convinced Pedro to claim Brazil as an independent power, with
him as their leader and he became Emperor Pedro I of an independent Brazil by the
end of 1822. In Mexico, the revolution and bid for independence was not nearly so
easy. After Hildago s rebellion another priest, and JosГ© MarГa Morelos y PavГіn

under the leadership of Vincente Guerrero. With the reinstatement of the liberal
Spanish Constitution of 1820 Mexican elites decided to join the side of the creoles
and call for independence from Spain. Guerrero and the creole officer, AgustГn de

independence in 1821. Iturbide was made Emperor of Mexico, but his
conservative reign was short lived as his empire fell in 1823 when Mexico became
a federal republic. Following Mexico s example Central America declared itself a
republic, eventually breaking up into Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua,
and Costa Rica. In Venezuela, a group of creole revolutionaries, including SimГіn

creole leader Francisco de Miranda and BolГvar fled to Colombia returning with a

Defects to the Eye
Defects of the Eye
The eye is a very important part of the body; it helps us see the surroundings and is
almost being use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unfortunately lots of people don t
have the ability to see properly, whether it be due to genetics of the environmentally.
Whether you believe in them is your own decision. Fortunately there are many
different procedures that can be done to the eye to help you see clearly. Some say that
laser eye surgery is a sure fire way of fixing your vision, others say that it is complete
rubbish. The article will explain why laser eye surgery is not an effective way to fix
your eye. To prove this statement let s start from the three eye defects Myopia,
Glaucoma and Cataracts.
What is Myopia?
Myopia is a defect within the eye that causes near sightedness or short sightedness.
The public is always debating whether the term is near sightedness or short
sightedness, depending where you are, people are always saying the term

Normally when you look at an object, the object is being focus right on the retina,

Were Watching God Mule
A symbol is an object, action, or event that represents something or that creates a
range of associations beyond itself. In literary works, a symbol can express an idea,
clarify meaning, or enlarge literal meaning. The image of the mule emerges
repeatedly in different contexts throughout Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora
Neale Hurston, but remains consistent in its symbolism of Janie. The figure of the
mule can also refer not only to Janie herself but to any black woman struggling for
independence. The image of the mule first appears when Nanny, Janie s
grandmother, tells Janie that black women are de mule of de world, meaning that
they are the lowest creatures, used by others (14). This passage comes right out and

She is not in love with him like she thought she d be and she wants the
independence that de mule of de world don t have. Janie then meets a man name
Joe Starks, he talks to her about plans to travel south to Eatonville, FL and she runs
away and marries him, searching for more independence than she has. At first, all
is fine and dandy, but as time progresses, she realizes that Joe is power hungry and
uses her more than Logan Killicks did. The mule reappears when the townspeople
of Eatonville make fun of Matt Bonner s sad looking mule, which Janie pities.
Janie identifies with the mule, which remains stubbornly independent despite its
master s efforts to beat it down. When Joe purchases the mule to appease Janie s
sense of pity for it, the town regards Joe as a savior, and adopts the freed mule as a
kind of emblem. Joe purchases the mule to shower power and gain status just like
he has the power over his wife, Janie. Janie also gives him a good image just like
purchasing the mule does. This is ironic because while Joe s position in the city as
mayor gives him the power to free the mule, his pride and ambition cause him
virtually to enslave his wife. Finally, after a while of being showed off to the town,
the mule was left to the already impatient buzzards (61). The mule was destroyed by
the birds, symbolizing Janie s spirit dying and her freedom being torn apart after
being victimized by her
Public Administration Vs. Government
Trust in government is one of the major concerns in modern social sciences research.
It is addressed in the literatures of political science, public administration, law,
philosophy, counseling and psychology, economics, organization theory,
management, and others. The literature often documents a positive correlation
between citizens trust in governmentand the government s performance (Feldman,
1983). What is less clear is the nature of any causal relationship (BjГёrnskov, 2007).
Some assert the more intuitive notion that citizens trust more in their government if
and when they deem that the government institutions are delivering required services
and fulfilling the policy agendas (Chanley, Rudolph and Rahn, 2000). On the other
hand, trust also can be seen as the cause of better government performance as the
citizens may think the people running the government would not do anything
illegitimate and beyond the rules (Uslaner, 2002). That is why researchers are still
trying to figure out whether the trust is cause or consequence (BjГёrnskov, 2007
2010).
It implies that the mystery of citizens trust in government still to be solved based on
scholarly agreement. Moreover, citizens trust in government in developing countries
are mostly studied by focusing on national government setting instead of local
government. Studies like Booth and Seligson (2009), Gupta (2005), Bellina, Darbon,
Eriksen, and Sending (2009), Papagianni (2008) and Reno (1995) have indicated that

Jacey Observation
I recently had the opportunity to observe a 33 month old boy named Jacey in our
church nursery. On this particular Sunday we had several families unable to
attend worship service due to a nasty virus that has been going through our
community, so Jacey was the only child in the nursery during my observation. I
quickly learned that this little guy is full of energy and excitement, and also a
little bit of attitude, with sticky fingers and rosy cheeks! It was clear to see that he
is an adventure seeker as he explored his surroundings with eyes that appeared to be
thoughtful as his curious little mind absorbed every single inflection of the words
spoken by those who interacted with him and all of this is what I observed within
just the first five minutes of my time spent with Jacey. Over the course of the hour
there would be squeals of joy, rambunctious play, silly faces made, as well as times
of crossed arms and feet stomping in frustration. Life as a two... Show more content

He simply observed her at first, as she suggested different ways to build and play
with the blocks, using the method of guided participation (Martorell, et al., 2014)
to help Jacey feel comfortable and really settle in and begin to play. Eventually,
Jacey did begin to play alongside her, building different designs with the blocks.
This type of play, with building patterns and intention, is what our text book would
call constructive play (Martorell, et al., 2014). As Jacey played, his excitement
grew over what he was creating and every now and then he would speak to his
caregiver and show her what he was doing. His sentences followed the rules for
syntax speech as he put together sentences that made sense (Martorell, et al., 2014).
Not to be too committed with his attention, Jacey would randomly get up and run
about the room he definitely had too much energy to sit still very long and just play

Crime Data Comparison
Crime is something that occurs throughout the world. To some people it is an
incident that adds stress to one s life, and to others, they see it as a way of life. Over
the last years, different areas of the United States have been affected by crime. The
Federal Bureau of Investigation Uniform Crime Report (UCR) Program is a
nationwide program that gathers statistical information from nearly 18,000 agencies
that report criminal data on crimes that have been brought to their attention or
reported voluntarily (The Federal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though, the rates of violent crimes increased in New York, New York, some
crime rates increased in Honolulu while other crimes decreased. In New York, the
total amount of violent crimes increased between those two years by 2,132
incidents, or a 4% increase. For each individual crime, murder/non negligent
manslaughter increased an estimated 12%; rape increased 20%, robbery by 5%,
and aggravated assault increased 3% (The Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2009).
In Honolulu, the overall amount of violent crimes increased between the two years
of 2009 and 2010 by 11 incidents. For each crime, murder/non negligent
manslaughter increased 26%; robbery increased 2%; aggravated assault increased
by 9 incidents; however, forcible rape decreased by 10% (The Federal Bureau of
Investigation, 2010).
Theories
A number of factors take place regarding incidents of crimes and why they may have
been committed that might explain the difference between the two. In determining
these factors, theories of crime must be considered since there is more than one factor
present when one commits a crime. These theories include learning theory, labeling
theory, social disorganization, trait theory, social conflict, choice theory, and life
course theory. The social process theories, which include the labeling theory and
learning theory, take into thought that criminal behaviors in people are foreseeable
based on the interaction with her or his environment. The learning theory
The Polar Express
All Aboard! : A Comparison and Contrast of The Polar Express Book and Movie The
Polar Express is a classic children s Christmas story written by acclaimed author
Chris Von Allsburg. Chris Von Allsburg writes and illustrates all of his books and
won the Caldecott medal for The Polar Express. The Polar Express is a Christmas
story of getting a kid to believe in Santa. The boy climbs aboard a train to go to the
North Poleto see Santa. He is the one chosen to receive the first gift of Christmas,
which was a silver bell off of the reindeers. He cannot hear it at first, but then he
finally lets himself believe in Santa and can hear the bell for the rest of his life. The
movie The Polar Express is the only adaptation that has been made from the... Show

Also in the movie the train almost had an accident unlike the book. They put this
in the movie so it could build up to that scene as a climax to scare the viewers that
something might happen. In the trailer for the movie, it even shows the train
getting into an accident so the viewers will want to go see what happens to the
train. As well as the movie adding the songs, it also added the kids getting a
special ticket. Each child had a certain a letter at the beginning of their train ride,
punched by the conductor. When the kids were done experiencing the North Pole,
the conductor punched out a word pertaining to each kid. The main kid got the
word believe punched into his ticket because he did not believe in Santa at the
beginning of the movie. The African American girl got leader punched into her
ticket because she was the one that always knew what to do. The poor boy, Billy,
also got believe because he didn t think Santa was real either. This leads into the
most important difference between the book and the movie. In the movie it depicts
that going to the North Pole to see Santa was all a dream, while in the book it made
it all seem real. When children go see this movie, they might think that since the boy
is having a dream that Santa must not be real. A lot of research has been done about
kids believing in Santa. Gail Vines wrote about the Santa delusion from psychologist
s perspectives. According to Gail Vines (2007), children are able to
Essay on Christina Rossetti’s Goblin Market
Christina Rossetti s poem, Goblin Market, was written in the Victorian era during a
time of vast social change across Europe. Though the Victorian period was a time of
female suppression and order, Rossetti exposed social stigmas and ideologies that are
displayed through the journey of two sisters, Laura and Lizzie. Despite initial
impressions of a childhood fairytale, the suggestive and multi interpretive use of
language signifies an underlying message of erotic sexual commentary and feminist
views. In addition, Rossetti conveys moral lessons by illustrating consequences of the
goblin s seduction. Through the sister s experience with the goblins, the power of
sisterhood becomes undeniable. Christina Rossettis Goblin Marketserves as a... Show

Ironically, Rossetti s portrayal of seduction is in stark contrast to accepted notions of
the Victorian period in that the male characters signify dangerous temptation, not the
troubled females. The goblin men confirm this contradiction by representing the
venomous effects that experienced seductive men have on innocent naive women.
Rossetti s ironic gender split exemplifies her progressive attitude of feminist thought
while also serving as a depiction on the principles of Victorian society. In addition,
the feminist view of sexuality is evident throughout Rossetti s poem. Laura and
Lizzie s magical experience portrays the pursuit for sensual awareness while
struggling between physical identity and spiritual salvation. Furthermore, She clipped
a precious golden lock, she dropped a tear more rare than pearl, then sucked their
fruit globes fair or red, sweeter than honey from the rock (ll. 126 29) and sucked until
her lips were sore (l. 136). With blatant sexual undertones, this pivotal moment
signifies the character s transition from maiden to woman or innocence to experience.
Additionally, this exchange could be a metaphor for Laura s relinquishment of her
sacred virginity. As Laura falls sicker and slowly begins to deteriorate, Rossetti
illustrates the consequences of succumbing to the temptation of men s deceit and the
importance of remaining pure. With use of vivid imagery, Rossetti further emphasizes
the animalistic and uncanny

resembles a Ganges River dolphin, commonly found in freshwater in India, Pakistan,
Nepal and Bangladesh. One online comment jokes: Probably, our summer is so cold
that even the Indian dolphins getting into the local water is covered with feathers.

Vertical Wedge Research Paper
A very important aspect of a working society today is a spoken language. Being able
to communicate and understand one another through words opens up an abundance
of doors for humanity. Taking language to the next level was the creation of writing
systems. Without a writing system, there would be no way to document important
events in history or to record facts that will help with further developments. Writing
systems not only help with the present, but with future developments. With a
spoken language you are only able to spread facts by word of mouth and eventually
things will be forgotten or warped, but with a writing system people are able to
compose these things and can be kept intact to be read and used for thousands of
years. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Phonemes are units of sound that can very drastically change the meaning of a word.
For example, the words booth and both appear to be very similar, but are vastly
different in their definitions. In the Sumerian language, phonemes are mostly used
with the vowels of their alphabet. In the English language there are roughly 24
vowel sounds, while Cuneiform contains a mere 8 vowel sounds. Also, there are
14 constants used in Cuneiform: b, p, t, d, g, k, z, s, sh, ch, r, l, m, and n.
Sumerians did not use these vowels and constants literally, but were translations
made by studying the language. Morphemes are the smallest grammatical units in a
language. In The Sumerian language, people used morphemes usually to make a
word plural. These are known as plural markers. For example, the s in the word
books would be the morpheme that is making the word plural. Morphemes in
modern day are much more intricate, but this was the basic use in the fourth
millennia. Cuneiform vowels include short a, long a, short e, long e, short i, long i,
short u, and long u. Cuneiform is very simple in context compared to the English
writing system, but in the era it was created, it was very complex considering it was
one of the first writing
Forensic Science, Forensic, Anthropology, And Forensic...
Manahal Hassan Mr. Jones Forensics 7 March 2016 Fingerprinting The definition
according to Merriam Webster, of forensics is relating to the use of scientific
knowledge or methods in solving crimes. Today forensics is widely used to aid in
the solving of cases. Forensic Science is just an umbrella term for a range of sub
sciences present in Forensic Science. There is forensic pathology, forensic
psychology, and forensic anthropology among others. One of the most important
aspects of forensics are the various laboratory techniques applied to solve crimes.
The use of microscopy and fingerprinting are two categories that have furthermore
expanded the use of forensics in the present. FINGERPRINTS Fingerprints are the
rigged tips of the fingers and they often leave a print unrecognizable to the naked
eye after making contact when an object. No two people have identical
fingerprints. They can also tell the race and gender of a person. Jon Bon Jovi once
said Each one of you has something no one else has, or has ever had: your
fingerprints, your brain, your heart. Be an individual. Be unique. Stand out. Make
noise. Make someone notice. That s the power of individuals. Fingerprints are a key
piece of an individual because they provide a sense of identity. HISTORY OF

Pride Month Persuasive Speech
June, which has been designated as Gay Lesbian Pride Month has been nationally
established since June 2, 2000 when then sitting President Bill Clinton declared it as
such. President Trump has made no such declarations since he has been in office
signifying this month as one to honor the gay, lesbian and transgender lifestyles.
However, since the tradition is in place, many cities throughout the country are still
honoring the month of June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Pride
Month. To celebrate a host of them put on Pride Parades where various
organizations representing the LGBT communities march together. Due to the
large crowds these parades bring and the need to block streets, police presence is a
natural expectation. However, a recent declaration by the local Black Lives Matter
organization demanded the police vacate New York s parade and have no presence in
place, calling for a ban on all NYC police officers.
The Black Lives Matter Subset That Made The Demand:
Black Lives Matter NYC is a subset of the larger Black Lives Matter organization.
Their official name is #BlackLivesMatter NYC and according to their website, they
have over 20K Facebook fans and are responsible for organizing pro black events
from the Bronx to Brooklyn. On Sunday, #BlackLivesMatter NYC organizers Kei
Williams and Kleaver Cruz issued an open letter saying the following:

Essay On Characteristics Of A Good Leader

  • 1. Essay On Characteristics Of A Good Leader Writing an essay on the characteristics of a good leader can be a challenging task that requires a thoughtful and comprehensive approach. The difficulty lies in the need to analyze and articulate the multifaceted qualities that define effective leadership. A good leader is not a one- dimensional figure; instead, they embody a combination of traits, skills, and behaviors that contribute to their success in guiding and inspiring others. One challenge in crafting such an essay is the vast array of leadership characteristics to consider. Leadership is a nuanced concept encompassing qualities like communication skills, empathy, decisiveness, integrity, adaptability, and many more. Narrowing down the focus and providing a cohesive argument while acknowledging the interconnected nature of these traits can be demanding. Moreover, writing an essay on leadership requires a balance between theoretical concepts and practical examples. Theoretical frameworks and models of leadership need to be explained and applied to real-world scenarios to illustrate their significance. This requires in-depth research and critical thinking to present a well-rounded perspective. Additionally, addressing the evolving nature of leadership in different contexts adds another layer of complexity. What makes a good leader in a business setting might differ from qualities required in a political or community leadership role. Adaptability and the ability to recognize the context-specific demands of leadership further contribute to the essay's complexity. Furthermore, the challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and presenting a fresh perspective. Many essays on leadership tend to use common phrases and generalizations, making it essential to find a unique angle or insight to stand out. A thorough understanding of the subject matter is crucial to avoid superficial analysis. In conclusion, crafting an essay on the characteristics of a good leader demands a careful blend of theoretical knowledge, practical examples, and a fresh perspective. It requires in-depth research, critical thinking, and the ability to synthesize information cohesively. Despite the challenges, a well-written essay on leadership can provide valuable insights into the qualities that contribute to effective leadership. • 3. How Does Charles Dickens Use Parallelism In A Tale Of Two... Parallelism is a balance within one or more sentences of similar phrases or clauses that have the same grammatical structure. In the first paragraph of A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens explains disputable ideas about the aspects of pre revolutionary France. He shows the similarities between the French and English Nobility by using parallelism. Charles Dickens establishes, with his list of parallel contrasts, that the time period was not just one of denial, but that they were extreme in their degree. He also implies that every period shares these same differences, and that it is a part of human nature. Dickens apparent opinion of the list of complaints that the Continental Congress of 1775 sent to Parliament is that Dickens is referring
  • 4. Similarities Between The Aleph And The Zahir Some similarities between The Aleph and The Zahir is the fact that in both stories, the narrators clearly have the same name, Borges. In both stories the main characters, in a way, deny what they have seen. In The Aleph, Borges states that he has not seen the Aleph just so that he could get revenge on Carlos. In The Zahir, Borges sees a psychiatrist and instead of directly talking about the problems he is having because of the Zahir, he states that it is insomnia. Even though the Aleph and the Zahir are different in how they are perceived, they both are described as small circular objects. Differences between The Aleph and The Zahir are the effects they have on the characters. In The Aleph, whoever sees what is in the Aleph... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was not really into reading at the time, but I remember that my teacher made us read for at least fifteen minutes at the beginning of every class. If we did not have a book there were many books from her library to choose from. I believe this was one of the first books that I read in her class, and think I chose this book in particular because it stood out. I mean the title itself already piqued my interest. I honestly did not think that I was going to enjoy it as much as I did, It was such a bizarre read with all the strange events and abnormal characters. And in a weird way, the strangeness of the story was what I really liked. I do not think I would have liked it as much if it was not for that. It was one of the first chapter books that I did not have to force myself to finish. This was also one of the first books I read that really got me into loving to read. I just loved getting lost in another world and I wanted to keep reading books that did that for me. When I read A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings, by Gabriel GarcГa MГЎrquez I was reminded of the time I discovered that I needed glasses. In the story, towards the end, there is a part where the old man becomes extremely weak that they thought he could die. It also mentions that his eyes became foggy and he starts bumping into things because he obviously can not see. This part of the story brings up the memory of me realizing that I
  • 5. Physical and Chemical Agents Pose a Threat to Human Health... When categorizing environmental agents in regard to human health, physical, chemical, and biological agents each pose different and great threats. All can have potentially extremely dangerous short term and long term effects. In my opinion, biological agents pose the greatest threat to human health. It is crucial to point out that circumstantially, any of the three could pose the greatest threat, but in general, I believe biological agents do so. I find biological agents to be the most unavoidable with the most severe consequences, in general, of the three categories. Biological agents, coming in a variety of forms, have unique abilities amongst themselves and all categories of environmental healthagents. Bacteria holds the ability to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They, like chemical and biological agents, have come a long way in terms of prevention and treatment. Physical agents, however, are more similar to chemical agents in that it is easier to limit, or at least decrease, exposure of an entire country than it would be to stop a disease epidemic, for example. Biological agent prevention has significantly improved, especially with vaccines, but even vaccines can be dangerous if given to the wrong person. Although it would be difficult to prevent all exposure to any agent, being cautious about x rays and ensuring proper ventilation in a new building are feasible, while limiting exposure to biological agents is made difficult by the variety of hosts walking around with the capability of secondary infection. Displaying an example of a biological agent is the H7N9 (bird flu) epidemic in China beginning in 2013. Xinhuanet English News presents the epidemic clearly. While many vaccines exist for viruses, none will be administered in the foreseeable future for H7N9. They had already reached 96 human infections with 19 deaths in 2014 as of January 27. Fortunately, this epidemic currently has a slow transmission speed and no supporting evidence to suggest consistent human to human transmission, but it is addressed that single human to human cases are not ruled out. This case is relevant and supports the argument of biological agents posing the greatest threat to human health out of the
  • 6. Comparison Of The Progressive And Populist Movement The Progressive and Populist Movements of the Late 19th and early 20th century were both movements that sought to give specific groups in the population better representation/rights as a whole. The Populist Movement began due to major economic changes brought on by the railroad. Farmers could no longer make a living selling their crops due to overproduction leading to low prices. The Populist Partywas established in order to promote the economic and political interests of farmers. One notable member of the Populist Party was William Jennings Bryan, a Presidential candidate who believed in inflating the money supply and the coinage of silver. The party would go on to create Granger Laws, laws designed to place government regulations on railroads.

With this intention/Henceforth, the two main male characters, Bridegroom and Leonardo, represent the two major political parties of Spain in the 1920 s and 30 s, Nationalists and Republicans. In this essay, parallels will be drawn to connect how Lorca symbolizes the tensions leading up to the Spanish Civil War, in his play Blood Wedding. In the 1920 s and 30 s, Spain was under a lot of political strain and tensions, which would eventually lead to the Spanish Civil War. There was a major political divide between the Republicans and Nationalists. Nationalists, the right wing government, had a major supporter base consisting of: landowners, military leaders, and the Roman Catholic Church. On the other hand, Republicans who were the polar opposite, being the left wing administration, had supporter base consisting of: urban workers, agricultural labourers, communists, and the educated middle class. The Republican aim was to create a modern democracy by limiting the power of the army and the Roman Catholic Church and empowering trade unions and owners. Conversely, Nationalists had a more conservative aim which was to protect those who were powerful and wealthy, keep Catholicism the predominant religion in Spain, and creating a powerful army. With this in mind, it is quite

For example, what if the college graduate made only $30,000 a year with a degree in arts, or what if she made $100,000 a year with a degree in business? Thus, we have no way of knowing how unfair this situation really is to the mother who graduated college. I think DeVore should have also discussed how many hours the other woman works at her minimum wage job, for the sake of a complete and logical argument. The ambiguity in the amount of hours she works, reminds me of a Humans of New York post I read, where a single mom of three worked ninety five hours a week at three different jobs, so that two of her children could go to Yale and the third child could attend Colombia. This post highlights how the author does not consider the many external factors that exist beyond his hypothetical scenario. I think DeVore needs more substance in his hypothetical situation to show how the government wrongs the college graduate and to emphasize the importance of a limited government. His next point regarding government tax incentives and how they can limit the free market has more validity. Tax breaks are the government s way of rewarding corporations who follow

  • 19. The Security Environment That Is Shaping The Joint Force... The security environment that is shaping the Joint Force 2025 (JF25) is incredibly complex and rapidly evolving. Challengers to security and stability include two aggressive competing powers (China and Russia), two nuclear capable regional hegemons (North Korea and Iran), and a persistent threat of terrorism to the homeland. The global commons are contested and access to the space and cyber domains are no longer guaranteed. Fiscal constraints limit the available means for the Joint Force (JF) to meet these challenges and therefore increases risk to accomplishing the national militaryobjectives. Despite the complexity of this environment and fiscal austerity, the JF25 must protect our Nation and win our wars. It must deter and defeat state adversaries, disrupt and defeat terrorist organizations, and strengthen the global network of allies and partners. The prioritized capabilities required for Joint Force 2025 are linked to the imperatives of securing the homeland and maintaining strategic agility. This essay discusses general attributes of the JF, specific capability requirements by service, and the risk associated with focusing the rebalance on these two imperatives. Strategic guidance on the general attributes of JF25 is provided in the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) and National Military Strategy (NMS). Genetic and environmental factors in the development of the fetus seem to also be some of the causes. The disturbance of the normal growing foot probably occurs at about the eighth week of pregnancy. The cause of the foot growing deformed is unknown, but believed to have something to do with heredity. Many cases of clubfoot do not have easily identifiable causes. The goal of treatment is to achieve and maintain as normal as a foot as possible. The extent of the required treatment varies, depending upon the rigidity of the foot. Treatment may take several months, but most children learn to crawl, stand, and walk at the normal age. There are a couple different ways to go about treating clubfoot, the two most perfered being manipulation and casting, and surgery. Clubfoot is most common in children who suffer from spina bifida who have an L4 or L5 motor level. Many orthopedic surgeons instead of serial casting suggest early taping and gentle manipulation followed by an application of a well padded splint. The reason for this is because serial casting can cause skin irritations and breakdown. Another technique manipulation and casting is a treatment that begins shortly after birth. So, Rene Magritte purposely made the face unseeable behind the apple. In his painting, there is more than what meets the eye. The way in which he executed the piece is simple yet it still makes those who see the art wonder what it represents. As like any artwork, successes and failures can be found in Magritte s art and how well it portrays the meaning behind the piece. The Son of Man when examined closer, can be more interesting than one might think. Representation lies in every form of art. There is the literal representation, and there is the abstract figurative way of viewing. Simply, the painting shows a man with an apple in front of his face and a storm taking place behind him. Many think the fruit is referencing the tale of William Tell in which he shot an apple off his son s head. Since in Magritte s painting the fruit is floating in front of him, this alludes to him about to be shot in the face. Others quickly think religion inspired the work. The Son of Man sounds eerily close to Son of Man, which is Jesus title. Also, the green fruit could be from the famous tale of the Garden of Eden where Eve took a bite from an apple and committed the first sin. Neither of these are wrong, but Rene Magritte states, Well so you have the apparent face, the apple, hiding the visible but hidden, the face of a person... There is an interest in that which is hidden and which the visible

For a learning organization to be successful, they must use effective and ethical communication. Effective communication is one of the four components of organizational structure (Colorado State University Global Campus, 2015). It is certainly necessary for the entire organization (not just one silo) to benefit from any learning that occurs. Knowledge must be shared (Colorado State University Global Campus, 2015). New information must be integrated and disseminated to the entire organization (Starkey, 1998). By disseminating information on a total system basis, Starkey (1998) identified that: This creates an antidote to the silo phenomenon when one part of the organization does not have access to what the other parts know, therefore, it cannot learn from them or understand where its own knowledge fits into the overall picture. • 44. Public Administration Vs. Government Trust in government is one of the major concerns in modern social sciences research. It is addressed in the literatures of political science, public administration, law, philosophy, counseling and psychology, economics, organization theory, management, and others. The literature often documents a positive correlation between citizens trust in governmentand the government s performance (Feldman, 1983). What is less clear is the nature of any causal relationship (BjГёrnskov, 2007). Some assert the more intuitive notion that citizens trust more in their government if and when they deem that the government institutions are delivering required services and fulfilling the policy agendas (Chanley, Rudolph and Rahn, 2000). On the other hand, trust also can be seen as the cause of better government performance as the citizens may think the people running the government would not do anything illegitimate and beyond the rules (Uslaner, 2002). That is why researchers are still trying to figure out whether the trust is cause or consequence (BjГёrnskov, 2007 2010). It implies that the mystery of citizens trust in government still to be solved based on scholarly agreement. Moreover, citizens trust in government in developing countries are mostly studied by focusing on national government setting instead of local government. Studies like Booth and Seligson (2009), Gupta (2005), Bellina, Darbon, Eriksen, and Sending (2009), Papagianni (2008) and Reno (1995) have indicated that in

Though the Victorian period was a time of female suppression and order, Rossetti exposed social stigmas and ideologies that are displayed through the journey of two sisters, Laura and Lizzie. Despite initial impressions of a childhood fairytale, the suggestive and multi interpretive use of language signifies an underlying message of erotic sexual commentary and feminist views. Ironically, Rossetti s portrayal of seduction is in stark contrast to accepted notions of the Victorian period in that the male characters signify dangerous temptation, not the troubled females. The goblin men confirm this contradiction by representing the venomous effects that experienced seductive men have on innocent naive women. Rossetti s ironic gender split exemplifies her progressive attitude of feminist thought while also serving as a depiction on the principles of Victorian society. In addition, the feminist view of sexuality is evident throughout Rossetti s poem. Laura and Lizzie s magical experience portrays the pursuit for sensual awareness while struggling between physical identity and spiritual salvation. Furthermore, She clipped a precious golden lock, she dropped a tear more rare than pearl, then sucked their fruit globes fair or red, sweeter than honey from the rock (ll. 126 29) and sucked until her lips were sore (l. 136). With blatant sexual undertones, this pivotal moment signifies the character s transition from maiden to woman or innocence to experience. Additionally, this exchange could be a metaphor for Laura s relinquishment of her sacred virginity. As Laura falls sicker and slowly begins to deteriorate, Rossetti illustrates the consequences of succumbing to the temptation of men s deceit and the importance of remaining pure. With use of vivid imagery, Rossetti further emphasizes the animalistic and uncanny
