Same Sex Marriage Should Be Legal Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of whether same-sex marriage should be legal can be a challenging
task, as it involves delving into complex social, cultural, legal, and ethical issues. Crafting a well-
reasoned and persuasive argument requires thorough research, a deep understanding of the
subject matter, and the ability to present ideas coherently.
Firstly, one must navigate through various perspectives on the matter, considering both supporters
and opponents of same-sex marriage. This entails researching legal precedents, historical
contexts, and the evolution of societal attitudes towards LGBTQ+ rights. Gathering reliable data
and credible sources is crucial for building a strong foundation for the essay.
Additionally, addressing the ethical aspects of the issue adds another layer of complexity.
Writers may need to explore philosophical and moral arguments surrounding the concept of
marriage, equality, and human rights. Balancing personal opinions with well-supported evidence
is essential to maintain the essay's credibility.
Furthermore, the language used in such an essay should be sensitive and respectful,
acknowledging the diversity of opinions on the topic. Striking the right tone is important to
engage readers and convey a thoughtful, considerate perspective.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of same-sex marriage legality requires a careful
blend of research, critical thinking, and effective communication. It demands an understanding
of legal frameworks, historical contexts, ethical considerations, and the ability to navigate
through the complexities of the subject matter. Crafting a compelling argument involves
presenting well-supported ideas while maintaining a respectful and inclusive tone.

ABSTRACT
This research is a study about the bad side effects of using computer to human health.
Since, computer is widely used by all level of community, so we should know the
bad side effect of using computers to our health. In order to reduce the bad side
effects of using computers, this research suggests the ways to maintain our health
when using computer.

Posture and Tension
We should spend 10 or 15 minutes of every hour doing contrasting activities, which
involve bending, stretching, moving about and generally all those things which we
are not doing in front of the screen.
2. Breathing and Blood Circulation
Practice taking a few deep breaths, often while working at your computer. Get up
and move about regularly, try to introduce some aerobic exercise into these breaks.
Do whatever it takes to get the blood moving around in the body, to get your lungs
opened up and cleared out.
3. Digestive System and Skin Health
Eat away from the computer. Take a break, walk to the shop and buy some fresh
food, prepare it yourself, eat it in a relaxed manner. Focus your attention on the
food and the enjoyment of it. Drink regularly. Keep a large jug or bottle of fresh
water on the desk. Get up frequently and make a herb tea drink like Chamomile or
Rosehips or Mint for example.
4. Electromagnetic Radiation
To avoid electromagnetic radiation, take regular breaks from your computer and don
t take these breaks in front of the T.V.

effort to blink several times during the break period.
The Issues Of Key Employee Retirement
This paper will explore the issues of key employee retirement, plus, address the
plans that Sigma needs to follow in order to ensure the continuity of the firm.
Obviously, decisions about key employee retirement, differs for each business
owner. However, it is an issue that all businesses must face at one point or another.
Moreover, Sigma must ensure that it has a plan to either recruit from within or
hire new employees, to ensure the continuity of the firm. Notwithstanding,
sometimes there are already valuable employees within the organization, that can
fulfill the job requirements. For example, Adams (2012) states, external hires
tended to have more education and experience than the internal hires, but
employers don t appreciate how important it is for workers to know the ropes of an
organization. People don t hit the ground running on day one. Consequently, there
are relationships in organizations that are key to getting work done and a set of
structures and routines. For example, knowing where and when to file papers, for
instance, or whom to ask about approving a project, can make work much more
efficient (p.1). Consequently, according to Wharton.edu (2013), losing out on a
promotion is tough enough. But being passed over for a top level position in favor
of another candidate either external or internal can be a deal breaker for even the
most loyal company soldiers (p.1). For instance, I have been with Akebono for over
15 years, and I have been in the IT

The field of surgical technology is home to a number of organizations and
designations. This means that the people who work within the field are committed to
making sure that surgical technology remains a great career choice. So as you
consider becoming a surgical tech, it s wise to understand the following points about
surgical tech certification requirements.
Certified Surgical Technologist(CST) In order to call yourself a Certified Surgical

you are a recent surgical tech graduate looking to break into the field. (Hospitals and
other employers don t always advertise their job openings.) Be flexible. Many new
surgical techs find great employment opportunities by being willing to relocate.
Tech in Surgery Certified (TS C) The National Center for Competency Testing
(NCCT) offers surgical tech certification, awarding the Tech in Surgery Certified (TS
C) designation to those who pass its exam and meet certain education and/or
experience requirements. The TS C certification must be renewed every five years
through either continuing education or reexamination.
Licensure
First Step is to graduate from a surgical technology program accredited by the
Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Most of these programs take one to two years to complete. They combine classroom
instruction in subjects such as anatomy, pharmacology and medical terminology
with hands on training in clinical settings. Second step is to take and pass the
certification exam offered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and
Surgical Assisting, which qualifies you as a Certified Surgical Technologist or CST.
Third step is to find a job in surgical technology, in a hospital or other health care
facility. Gain as much hands on experience as you can, assisting during a
The Influence Of Artist Paul Cezanne s The Card Players
There are many artists from the 20th century that were very influential to people
and other artists. Some of the big artist are like Andy Warhol which a lot of people
know about including myself who does not really know that much about until
taking this class on the history of art. Then there is artist Paul Cezanne s painting
called The Card Players which is said on the instruction guide for this paper to be
the most expensive painting ever sold. The painting was said to be sold for $250
million which is a crazy expensive price. This just goes to show how important and
influential these painters were during that time. That many of them all impacted the
industry in their own little way and sometimes in a big way. The artist that needs...

He was a guy that raised and grew everything he almost ate. He had free ranged
turkeys and chickens. It was crazy to find out that he was so into growing in his
garden and raising these animals while being a very influential painter (Bordman
Fell 2015). They say he could connect with nature very well and therefore surround
him with all of this food. Since Claude was able to connect with nature so well he
was able to see beauty in things that others could not see. He was living in a pink
house that had all of his gardens and plants around it that he loved so dearly. The
garden behind his pink house almost looked like a painting in how he had it so
welly organized with the families of food grouped together and the trees that
apples that took a lot of space bordering the outside boundary of the yard (Bordman
Fell 2015). . This all comes to a surprise to me that he was so into gardening and
painting, but like Meryl Sheep says that Claude Monet was much more than an
artist. Although he claimed to be good at only two of life s endeavours painting and
gardening he lived a life that included entertaining leaders in art and politics in the
large dining room of his beautiful home in the bucolic Normandy countryside. This
shows how he was a very unique guy that was in this world (Bordman Fell 2015).
How Health Orientated Is A Group Of Students Essay
A study was conducted to determine how health orientated was a group of students in
a Psychology 302 Inferential Statistics course. They also examine if those students
who are high in health orientation different from those who are low in health
orientation. The participant were college students who attend California State
University, Los Angeles enrolled in this course. There were 25 participants both
female and male from diverse nationalities. We asked the participants to fill out a 30
minute questionnaire that consisted of 12 questions regarding their health. These
questions were measured using a 1 7 scale where 1 = not at all, 4 = moderately, 7 =
definitely.
Questions 1 5 in our questionnaire were added to create a total health orientation
score. Based on a median split of the total score the class was divided into high and
low orientation groups. 12 participants were in the high health group and 13 were
in the low health group. To measure how health oriented was the entire class we
used a 5 35 scale where; 5 = not at all, 20 = moderately, 35 = definitely. Therefore, the
lowest score a person can receive was 5 and the highest score a person can receive
was 35. The entire class (M=20.36, SD=4.932) reported being moderately in terms of
how health orientated were they.
To determine if the students who are high in health orientation different from those
who are low, the following 7 questions were asked of the class and were measured
using a 1 7 scale. Participants were

Apple Iphone Attack
Recently, the FBI has asked Apple to create a backdoor into IPhones, allowing the
government and anyone with access, to bypass security and access the data in an
IPhone. The main reason that this has become such a popular issue is because of the
aftermath of the San Bernardino attack. One of the attackers, Syed Farook, had an
IPhonethat is believed to have been used to communicate with other ISIS members.
The FBI has been unable to open the phone, and is now asking Apple for a
backdoor into the phone, which Apple promptly declined. If a backdoor is
generated for all IPhones, anyone with the key to unlock the backdoor will have
access to the entire world s supply of data on IPhones, ranging from a middle

The future of personal security and encryption lies at stake in this fight, and both
sides are unwilling to back down. If Apple wins, then IPhones stay secure, but the
IPhones from many criminals will remain locked. If the government wins, they will
have access to all the IPhones in the country, but will also be able to use the backdoor
in criminal and counterterrorist cases. In this case, Apple winning has a better
outcome than the FBI winning, because Apple winning is a win for personal and

These sales trends can be sorted by geographical regions, industry specific or by an

by imagination of the staff. Accounting/finance data will also be captured within this
database linking accounting/finance information directly to customer data. This will
allow management to pull information from sales, inventory, billing and total
revenue. The data is endless; the true challenge comes from pulling information that
will allow us to make decisions that lead to our strategic goals of larger market shares
. I have discussed what most management would consider the backbone of business
intelligence software, data management that allows us to run queries and report the
queries for managing and production purposes. Information delivery is also a
capability that comes from business intelligence software, information delivery can
come in the form of emails that are programmed to deliver specified queries on a
given day of the week or month or even daily. These same queries can be web based
allowing associates to access pertinent information anywhere in the world they might

all of the platforms that I have researched come with a very robust security program.

Anne of Green Gables Research Essay
Anne of Green Gables Research Essay
Anne of Green Gables is an enchanting tale of a young orphan named Anne Shirley.
Anne, who happens to be an eleven year old orphan at the beginning of the story,
eventually gets adopted mistakenly by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. Matthew and
Marilla were simply looking for a young male orphan who would be able to assist
them with physical work around the house because Matthew was getting older, and
would need an extra hand. Despite having a little girl, who was useless to them
physically, they quickly fell in love with this young girl s goodness and great
qualities. It has recently been discovered that Lucy Maud Montgomery, the author of
Anne of Green gables, was suffering of depression and loneliness ... Show more

In the novel we can see that Anne is not so fond of religion. When she gets asked
to pray, she simply does it to satisfy Marilla considering how she believes god gave
her red hair on purpose. This is another similarity found between Anne and L.M.
Montgomery. At some point in Montgomery s journals, she explains how she is
against orthodox religion (DuVernet, Sylvia, p.7). There are so many things that we
can relate from the author to Anne s character, it may be coincidental, but
considering how Montgomery used writing as a therapeutic relief, it is quite evident
that some of her traits and beliefs such as the aspect of depression and

loneliness were meant to be poured into the book (Rubio, Writing a life: L.M.
Montgomery).
Anne s imagination was certainly one of her greatest attributes. Although her
imagination sometimes led her to trouble, it is in fact what made her so special and
successful throughout the novel. A few times in the story, she would catch herself
daydreaming and meanwhile accidentally being the cause of problems. A good
example of this was when she was baking the cake; she ruined it due to being in her
own little world. Another case which is actually worst then the previously stated
incident, is when Anne s imagination nearly causes her to drown while reenacting a
poem. Women were expected to
Social Work Reflection
My social work foundation practicum is located at the Salvation Army: Red Shield
in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. In comparing the differences between learning
from my field placement and in a classroom setting, they are vastly different. For
example, in a classroom, I m learning about theories and evidence based practices
of the social work profession. At my field placement, I m actual experiencing a
hands on perspective of social work. The classroom can provide examples of
situations with clients. My placement on the other hand, will give me a real in
person experience with clients as they occur. In the classroom, I m learning from a
professor and other students perspectives from working in the field. With my field
placement, I m learning from the perspectives of clients, caseworkers, Veteran
Affairs (VA) representatives, field instructor, and the program director. I m
learning the practical aspect of social work practice and some of the complexities
of the field itself. For instance, I witnessed an ethical dilemma unfolding before
me with a client. This client informed the treatment team that he was lying about
his identify, so he could receive services from the Salvation Army. The issue
imposed was to either report for false identification or discharge from services. My
field instructor challenged me to address this issue. I said, I would need to know
the policies of the Salvation Army . I also mentioned that he doesn t appear to be a
harm to himself or others, but I would imagine this violates a procedure . The field
instructor said, your correct with the violation, we will not report this since we
advocate for clients, but he will be discharged . While this situation seemed,
transparent there were many elements that required some critical thinking, such as
knowledge of policy and procedures of the Salvation Army. With not knowing what to
do or say at times in my placement feels unsettling. However, I must remind myself
that my foundation field placement is a new learning experience. I feel that my
placement will boost my self confidence and knowledge on how to handle difficult
situations with clients in the future. As for the ambiguities and uncertainties in the
foundation field placement, I

one ideology. The group or ideology that speaks and has the power of this

we observe that the aristocrats held theater but soon after the power fell to the
individual man. Once the bourgeoisie, as Boal calls them, took control, the common

virtГ№ allows the lower man to trample the obstacles set by the higher powers.
Although man has become more individualized, art today still indoctrinates the lower

Douglas Haig Significance
In this essay I will be exploring whether Douglas Haig played a significant role
during World War One. I will argue that Haig was quite significant, however some
things that he did overpower peoples views of him as a vertus leader The Somme.
The issue of Douglas Haig s role as a British general during World WarOne, during
the Battle of the Somme in 1916, leading the BEF (British Expeditionary Force) at
the start of the war and his many other roles, has been thoroughly questioned by
many historians to date. Through different views and opinions, Haig s skills have
been both celebrated and criticised; over the years he has been viewed as both
Architect of Victory and the Butcher of the Somme , with much evidence supporting
both arguments. His role my opinion I believe that Douglas Haig did play a slightly
significant role during World War and that people overlook some of his great things.

By using the Naval forces strategically, Britain was capable of causing heavy
damage to Germany s infrastructure and forces. By applying this Blockade over
Germany, their living standards fell dramatically and many who have looked into
this topic agree that it was the role of the Blockades that was the most significant
during WWI. For example, when being encompassed by British ships, the average
calorie intake for a German decreased to 1000 according to the National Archives;
the Germans suffered over 700,000 wartime casualties due to the increasing
starvation. Although the blockade made an important contribution to the Allied
victory, many of its devastating side effects casted a long looming shadow over
post war German Society. However it brought both sides closer to the end hence

The Japanese Castles And Power During The Nineteenth
Century
To understand the Japanese castles, one must immerse in history of the country.
Japan despite a very different culture, like the old continent, also had a medieval
time. Different regions were then divided into small entities over which ruled a
local lord. The equivalence would be Dukes or Counts. The Emperor of divine
ancestry, could be seen as the Pope while the Shogun was in charge of the power of
the reigning emperor. This feudal system then required to have stronghold, but it is
only with the unification of the country that the real castles were built in the very
short period of a few decades, at the end the sixteenth century. Those castles
experienced a very rapid peak with stabilization over several decades to finally be
nearly all destroyed before being rebuilt in the twentieth century.
Before the nineteenth century, two clans battle for the seizure of power during the
Heian period (794 1185): the Minamoto clan and the Taira clan. Between 1180 and
1185, Japan went through a great civil war with the final victory of the Minamoto
clan. During this period, the power of the emperor was still strong.
Japan then enters its feudal phase called the Kamakura period, from 1185 to 1333.
The emperor was not playing much than a passive role in the management of the
country, mainly present for ceremonies. Civilian and military functions were in the
hands of the samurai. The most powerful of these is the samurai shogun... It was the
first military government called Bakufu.

Why Is Gladiatorfighting Important
Gladiator fights are one of the most crucial parts of Roman history. It shows the
livelihood of Roman people. It was one of their most important sources of
entertainment. When life was bad it took their minds off everything. What makes
you feel better than two people beating the crap out of each other until the victor has
killed the other. To make it real exciting lets throw a lion in it and see who wins.
Two men ready their weapons. They square up, not knowing if today will be their
last. The two men battle to the death until the victor arises. If the crowd was amused
they give him a thumbs up. But if he did not fight honorably, he gets thumbs down
and is killed. Just another day in typical Rome. Gladiator fights were adopted from

Vespasian. Many great spectacles were held in this place. It is 615 feet long and 510
feet wide. It takes up a total of about 6 acres total. It still stands today and is one of
our most important monuments.
Why it is important
To me gladiator fighting is very important to our past. It showed how barbaric
people were and what they would do for fun. They did not have tv s. Gladiator
fights were all they had for entertainment. It also was used to show the cruelty and
power of their Emperor. Its very interesting how people can turn war into a game.
And have a whole empire go watch it.
why I chose it
I chose gladiator fighting because it is so interesting. There is so much background
about it that I barely skimmed the top. I know how cruel and wrong it was. But
imagine watching one of those. Nothing else is closer to life and death then that. It
would be an adrenaline rush watching one of those fights.
Now imagine if you were a fighter in the games. Fighting for your life for a living.
Everyday not knowing if it will be your last. Fighting a man that holds your life in
his hands. It is a scary thing to think about. In my opinion gladiator fighting is
awesome. Though it is a bad thing. Much can be learned by

I am Mike. I am 15 years old and my parents just got divorced. My father didn t
want to claim me and my mom didn t want to take on the work of taking care of me
by herself. So my parents went to court and they got divorced. My mom moved to
California and my dad moved to New York. My grandparents claimed me and took
me to their home in England. Since I moved to the UK, I had to go to a new
school. My grandparents, Larry and Michelle, told me that I would go to an
academy 30 minutes away when there was one that was only five minutes away. I
felt a little vexed that I was forced to go to a school that was farther away when
there was one so close. But I followed their orders. Since I moved to my
grandparents house in September, school just started. My grandparents told me to
pack my luggage with clothes. I asked why and Larry said, The school you are
going to is a boarding school. When I heard him say this, I was shocked. I wasn t
expecting to live at my school that was only 30 minutes away from my
grandparents house. But again I didn t argue because I didn t know what they
would do and I didn t want to know. Therefore, I packed my belongings as I thought
about the boarding school. I had many thoughts like what if my grandparents don t

Media Campaign for World Suicide Prevention Day 2012
Media campaign for World Suicide Prevention Day 2012
Organization Profile The organization asking for assistance with its campaign is a
small mental health nonprofit in Singapore. The company operates facilities that
provide services to the mentally ill such as counseling, hospital alternative programs,
case management, housing assistance, and community outreach. The community
outreach branch has been participating in the World Suicide Prevention Day
campaigns since they were first organized, but there has been very little participation
by the community, or even similar agencies, in this effort. The company has a
particular stake in this effort as the mentally ill population in the region is almost
three times more likely to commit suicide than an individual who does not claim
mental health problems (SingHealth, 2012).
Relevant Issues Singapore has its own committee that conducts a local suicide
prevention day in March of select years (SingHealth, 2012), so assistance from the
county is unlikely other than verbal support. The company does not have a large
budget to support the effort and will have to conduct a fund raising drive prior to
beginning the campaign to endure that enough funds can be dedicated to the effort. It
is possible though that the country will provide some money via a grant. The day
itself has not been well publicized in the media in the years preceding this one. This
presents an issue in that people do not want to think about the problem and are
Lady Lazarus by Sylvia Plath
Lady Lazarus was written by Sylvia Plath. On a literal level, this poem is about
death and attempting suicide. It is most likely that it was written from Plath s
personal experience as she was known for her suicidal nature. This poem has 28
tercet stanzas. There is no clear rhyme scheme yet rhyming can be found
throughout this poem, for example I have done it again/One year in every ten , so
there is an irregular rhyme scheme. Literary devices such as end stopped lines and
enjambment are also used: What a trash/To annihilate each decade. One important
aspect is the demonic tone of this poem. The way that Plath seems to tell the story
as if it were a show or carnival is another aspect which ties in to the demonic tone of

There are a number of themes brought up in Lady Lazarus . One theme is the
holocaust. In the 2nd stanza, Plath mentions a Nazi lampshade . This refers to the
myth that the Nazis used Jewish skin from the victims of the holocaust to make
pieces of furniture such as lampshade and paperweight . This idea adds to the
disturbance of the poem whilst illustrating the main theme of death. Another theme is
the phoenix. This is a mythical, red haired bird that burns when it dies and
resurrects out of the ash. Plath describes this process in her poem: I turn and
burn...Out of the ash/I rise with my red hair . The idea of the phoenix resurrecting
gives the reader powerful imagery whilst reinforcing the fact that Sylvia Plath
wants to die but keeps coming back to life, like a phoenix. However, she sees this
as a negative, which relates to, in my opinion, the most important aspect of this
poem: the demonic tone. Plath uses carnival imagery to convey the image of her
death being like a show, where people come to watch: The Peanut crunching crowd
/Shoves in to see . This idea is disturbing and adds to the demonic tone of the poem.
Also, she refers to Satan in the 27th stanza: Herr God, Herr Lucifer ; she is also
demonising God in this quote, which is blasphemous and some might say evil.
Finally, the image of a fire doesn t just relate to a phoenix burning but also the fires
of hell : ...melts to a shriek./I turn and

This first form of mail service was called the Pony Express. It was called the Pony

the Pony Express officially started on April 3, 1860 when the riders left at the same
time in Saint Joseph, Missouri and Sacramento, California. While the riders did not

Theme Of Romanticism In Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And
Mr Hyde
The writing style and diction of Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde demonstrate
key elements of Romantic writing. Engage with this statement with direct reference
to the text and to features and ideas of the Romantic genre.
The Romantic era, when Stevenson was working on his novella Strange Case of Dr
Jekyll and Mr Hyde (Stevenson, 2014), was characterized by the rejection of faith in
reason to faith in the senses. Most importantly Romanticism values freedom of the
individual above all else. Stevenson uses these elements of Romanticism in Strange
Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which are demonstrated by the writing style and
diction, to reinforce the central themes of the book.
The Romantic element of nature in Strange Case of Dr Jekyll ... Show more content

Since Hyde s immunity to the control of others, his rebellion is what gives him his
freedom Hyde represents is the essence of individuality that Romantic writing so
often focuses on. Hyde thus becomes the epitome of rebellion and consequently
individuality. Stevenson connects the idea of nature with individuality, which is
represented by Hyde, by using the idea of a sea of liberty. By describing the freedom
that Hyde gives Jekyll with the image of something distinctly natural Stevenson
associates nature with individuality and by doing so, reinforces the themes of
rebellion and individuality in the novella. Hence, Stevenson s use of nature to
represent that individuality demonstrates the use of Romantic elements in Strange
Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
Nature itself is of two sides, one of peace and tranquillity and the other an
uncontrollable destructive force and this aspect of the duality in nature is
representative of the larger theme of duality present in Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and
Mr Hyde. Stevenson shows this element of duality by simultaneously being polite
and horrific when Enfield is describing the incident where Hyde tramples a little girl.
Well, sir, the two ran into one another naturally enough at the corner; and then came
the horrible part of the thing; for the man trampled calmly over the child s body and
left her screaming on the ground.

Choosing The Right Dog Allergy Therapy
By Tommie Dixon
Dec 23, 2010
If you have a dog with an allergic reaction, choosing the right sort of treatment can
be the difference between roaring success, and gloomy failure. Naturally, step 1 is
matching the type of dog allergy treatment to the type of allergy. Here is a
breakdown of the types of allergy, and the endorsed treatments.
If Your Doghas an allergy to Inhalants
It may sound weird, like humans, dogs can be allergic to inhalants, like dust,
pollen, and particular types of mildew. Treatment for this sort of allergy may
include avoidance, especially in the case of dust or mildew, where you keep your pet
away from areas where they are likely to come into contact with the allergen.
If the allergy has resulted in itching, as it is certain to do, employing a topical
treatment like a shampoo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Place your dog on a hypoallergenic diet, or a home cooked diet with easy
ingredients, and that should be the end of that. You could also use many of the
treatments listed for the inhalant allergic dog above , however , those would be a non
permanent solution only and as soon as the treatment stopped, the allergy would
return.
Contact Allergies
These are probably the least common dog allergies this is when your dog becomes
allergic to an item, like a selected kind of blanket, or a plant, grass, or another item in
his environment. Dog allergy treatment for contact allergies is much the same as for
food allergies transient relief will be gained by using the standard treatment , but for
long term relief, simply takes away the allergen.
Flea Allergy
Many dogs have an allergy to fleas, and when bitten, they develop allergy symptoms.
In this example, common dog allergy treatments may help, but the key is to keep the
dog, and his environment, free from
Marching Band Observation
One of the most influential leadership roles that I have had the honor of holding is
being the drum majorette for my high school and junior high marching band.
Included in this role, I not only conducted the band, but I energetically gave
constructive criticism, provided encouragement, and listened to my fellow band
members opinions. Relating to John Quincy Adams quote, I implemented goals
regarding to success for individual band members and the band as a whole, essentially
supporting my members to dream more and to see the bigger picture. Junior high
members who joined our band this marching season were granted the opportunity to
attend a pre session with our band director and I before the start of band camp. During
this session, the band director and I taught them marching fundamentals and
presented them with tips relating to memorizing musicand how to sufficiently mark
their maneuvers in their music. This session allowed the junior high members to

The Character Of Blanche In A Streetcar Named Desire
In a world full of strict social standards and harsh judgement, it is easy for one to be
unhappy with their true position in society. It is often simpler for one to hide one s
own identity and project something subjectively more desirable rather than face
reality. Blanche in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire struggles with
projecting her true self, and I can certainly empathize with Blanche as I have gone
through something similar in my own life. Blanche and I both wear masks of
superiority in order to conceal our insecurities, and be perceived more positively by
society. Blanche and I both hide our social insecurities through a mask of social

Blanche s lack of confidence in her appearance is evident through her reliance on
flattery. However, Blanche does attempt to seem confident about her appearance at
times. While catching up with Stella, Blanche says, I want you to look at my
figure! [She turns around] You know I haven t put on one ounce in ten years,
Stella? (Williams 15). Blanche s desire for Stella to look at her stems from
Blanche wanting Stella to admire her appearance, and compliment it. The
emphasis on my makes the line come off as somewhat condescending as Blanche
is putting her own body above Stella s, at least to some degree. Blanche s over
compensation for her lack of confidence in her body makes her come off as
annoying to other characters in the story, and to me. Blanche s lack of confidence
in her appearance is later documented with Mitch. While talking in the bathroom,
Mitch asks Blanche about the lanterns over the lightbulbs. Blanche responds, I can
t stand a naked lightbulb, any more than I can a rude remark or vulgar action
(Williams 60). Blanche can t stand a naked lightbulb, because she cannot bear being
perceived as unattractive or old by a man. Blanche was not found attractive by her
former husband, so a significant amount of Blanche s struggle stems from wanting
to prove to herself that she is young and attractive enough to seduce men. Blanche s
want to be perceived positively physically by others is something I can relate to. At
the beginning of Sophomore year, I had just started lifting weights. After struggling
socially, my gym going became something I exploited for recognition. I would talk
about how much weight I could lift, my diet, cardio, and how I was getting
recognition from women. I have never been fully confident in my looks, and I wanted
positive reinforcement, even without being fully satisfied with my physical progress.
I thought that bragging would make others

Mahatma Ghandi s Views and Opinions of the Rama Essay
There are hundreds of different versions of the Ramayana in various geographical
locations. Even though the main characters stay consistent most of the time, their
themes, actions and motifs often vary, which gives different groups of people
multiple interpretations of how to use these stories. This is especially true for Rama
because many people view him as the Supreme God, especially Ghandi and the RSS,
although they have differing opinions on Rama s image.
Mahatma Ghandi was arguably one of the most prominent figures during the 20th
century due to his views about the assimilation of religions in India, rebellion through

A true satyagrahi does something purely because it is their moral duty. If a
satyagrahi has truth on his side, he will win, and if his thought is faulty, he will
suffer the consequences of his fault (Gandhi in Mukherjee 1993: 128). Truth is the
highest dharma a person can attain. Dharma, is a person s duty and righteousness
according to their caste, social class, or stage of life (Narayanan 2004: 58). This is
why Rama is considered the Supreme God and a satyagrahi, because he always
followed dharma. He always did his duty, and what he considered to be right.
Therefore, a true satyagrahi will have good dharma, and Rama represents the ultimate
satyagrahi.
The Ramayan had at least 2 revivals in the last hundred years, the first was when
Mahatma Gandhi described an ideal polity and just rule as Ramrajya (Vajpeyi
2011: 2). This was when Ghandi was criticizing British colonialism. He gets his
views from his portrayal of Rama because he perceives Rama as the Supreme Being.
I must say that the independence of my dream means Ramayana, i.e. the Kingdom of
God on Earth (Gandhi in Mukherjee 1993: 82). Ghandi believed Rama to be non
violent, not overly aggressive, and one who had conquered self pride. Rama also has
virtues that are said to be common in all human beings, according to dharma, which
include gratitude, non violence, compassion, and generosity (Narayanan. 2004: 58).
For example, in the Ramayana written by Naranjuan, Rama shows compassion

The Theory Of Separation Of Power
The concept of separation of power suggests that the branches of the state; the
executive, legislature and the judiciary be divided in terms of their functions and
members likewise in other to prevent abuse of power or external influences. In 1748,
Montesquieu made a statement which today is regarded as one of the clearest
explanations of separation of powers, When the legislative and executive powers are
united in the same person, or in the same body of magistrates, there can be no
liberty... there is no liberty if the powers of judging is not separated from the
legislative and executive... there would be an end to everything, if the same man or

A Lesson Before Dying And To Kill A Mockingbird
Comparison...
Ernest J. Gaines, the author of A Lesson Before Dying, and Harper Lee, the author
of To Kill A Mockingbird, seem to be identical in their literary work. Both novels
display racism and injustice poisons society because the innocent are destroyed
physically and mentally by the two cruelties. Gaines portrays a story of a young
coloured male, Jefferson, who seeks to become a man full of dignity before he dies
from electrocution. Lee shares a story of a young white woman who accuses a young
coloured male, Tom Robinson, of rape; Tom s lawyer, Atticus Finch, strongly defends
him, but later Tom dies innocent. Throughout both novels, A Lesson Before Dying
and To Kill A Mockingbird
, share the theme of racismand injustice. This is evident
through the similarities of characters, specifically Jefferson and Tom Robinson. Also,
the theme is found within person against society conflicts in both novels. And lastly,
the setting of the two books helps determine the theme of racism and injustice.
Firstly, Jefferson and Tom both suffer from prejudice. In A Lesson Before Dying,
the court wrongfully accuses Jefferson of stealing and murdering a white man.
And in To Kill A Mockingbird, the jury unfairly charges Tom for raping a white
woman. The legal system discriminates both innocent men because the legal
system finds the men guilty based on their poor judgments of the men s races. For
instance, Jefferson s defense argues, ... I ask you [the jury], I implore, look
carefully do you see a man sitting here? Look at the shape of this skull, this face as
flat as the palm of my hand look deeply into those eyes. Do you see a modicum of
intelligence? Do you see anyone here who could plan a murder, a robbery... can
plan anything? (Gaines 7). Despite Jefferson s humiliation from his defense, it is
apparent that he is innocent because he has no courage to commit a crime such as
the ones he is charged with. However, the jury is of twelve white men (Gaines 8)
and during the 1940s, the white society feels no sympathy to the coloured society.
Jefferson experiences unfairness from the court because he is a coloured man that
stood in a white man s murder scene. This is also discoverable in To Kill A
Mockingbird, the jury of Tom s trial is of

It is evident that the drive to colonize this new nation had chiefly been for
economic purposes and the fact that the European continent was becoming
overpopulated. The New World had been discovered by explorers who wanted to
locate a new route to India so that trade could be better established. However, once
what is now known as the United States was founded, there were more
opportunities for a variety of things, including slave labor, colonization,
entrepreneurship, and even an escape from religious persecution and the social and
political system of Europe. As a result of this drive for change, the European people
aggressively came to America so that they could make changes, and this would be on
behalf of the Native American people who already claimed the land.
Fostering Identities Calloway s book is a great way to explain and illustrate the
details of how the North American identity had been established, discussing the
coming together of Native American and European people. The main idea and
overall thesis of this book is that the European settlers and the Native Americans
formulated a New World that altered and reformed the experience of what is now
known as the United States. According to the text, the European settlers would not be
able to come to the modern day United States and simply displace the native cultural
heritage. This would simply not have been possible, especially with how rich and
long lasting the Native American culture is .

Relationship Between State and Federal Governments
Introduction
Federalism is a system of government in which powers are divided between a central
(national) government and regional (state) governments. (pg. 4)The relationship
between the state and federal governments is very complex. There are certain things
that state governments can do that the federal government cannot do, and there are
things that the federal government can do that the state governments cannot do. In
the midst of it all, the complex situations between the state governments and the
federal government can cause many conflicts throughout the country and it can make
it difficult for some citizens to keep up with the constantly changing politics. There
are many advantages to federalism. Federalism manages the social and political

dimension parallel to the Y axis, C2 = Column dimension parallel X, h = footing
dimension parallel to Y axis, b = Footing dimension parallel X axis as shown, a a , b
b are sections located at the column faces along X and Y respectively. Figure 4 1:
Column and Footing Dimensions (Source: Ref 1)
For the case of rectangular footing shown in Figure 4 2, the general equation for soil
pressure below the footing can be written as q(x,y)= P/bh+(12M_(x ))/( bh^3 ) y+

Janice Dickinson Research Paper
Once upon a time, let s call it the 90s, a handful of women ruled the world. They
were called supermodels and you couldn t swivel your head without colliding into
an image of one or more of these bodacious babes. The supermodel industrial
complex was some kind of powerful billboards, magazine covers, cosmetics and
fragrance campaigns it seemed like this tight knit clique and their logo like faces
dominated every inch of American and International advertising real estate. They
made millions. While it s undisputed that these girls were successful, there s heated
debate surrounding what constitutes a supermodel. Does Beverly Johnson? What
about Janice Dickinson? Gia Carangi? Jean Shrimpton? For us, we re talking about
the It girls of the decade
Be Responsible and Take Action in Shakespeare, Aeschylus...
Shakespeare along with Aeschylus and T. S. Eliot use character from each of their
respectable work including Hamlet, Agamemnon and The Love Song of J. Alfred
Prufrock to demonstrate one must responsibly be able to decide and take action in
desperate times in order to prevent tragedy or greater loss. Through the text of these
three prominent literacy works from the ancient history to the 1900 s, one element
that is evident in all three literature works is hamartia, which is directly related to the
protagonist making a tragic error that eventually leads to the final cataclysm. To get
a deeper insight of how hamartia plays a big role in these works, the audience has to
get a better understanding of the main character/protagonist of each play and get
familiar with their personality traits along with how they act in desperate times in
order to prevent tragedy, or be the cause of it. Prince Hamletin Hamlet , Agamemnon
from Aescylus work along with Prufrock from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock
are seen as victims of their personality flaws through the text presented as eventually
the outcome is seen as a tragic end for these characters due to their fatal errors.
Point1: One must be able to balance between reason and passion as reason falls
towards rational thinking while passion leads towards making irrational decisions.
Hamlet in Shakespeare s play is known as a tragic hero due the fact that he was
bound for greatness but his fall came as a result of his personality
Essay On Neanderthals
Although Neanderthals were a branch of the human family tree, they have been
seen as a primarily forgotten species. They were known for a variable diet, hunting,
and lacking language and art. It was also believed that they lacked the capacity of
knowledge as modern species. However, due to new discoveries, we realize that
Neanderthals are much closer to the modern humanspecies and more intelligent than
we believe. History has shown that Neanderthals disappeared just after the human
species began to form. It was a simple matter of our intelligence outlasting their
strength. This is where scientists believed Neanderthals had very little brainpower.
With limited stone tools and the absence of art, Neanderthals showed that they were
noticeably less advanced than modern humans. Due to findings in genetics and
archaeology, the idea that Neanderthals showed little intelligence was questioned.
The Neanderthals actually made very efficient stone tools that aided them in tasks
such as hunting. The scientists in the documentary found that the technologies of the
Neanderthals were much more complicated than the technology of modern humans as
far as producing them. For example, stone making showed just how complex the
technologies of the Neanderthals were. They were able to make stones that allowed
for a specific point of sharpness that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The way they were able to craft their tools and use their resources around them,
showed the complexity in how they thought and the fact that they did have a high
degree of knowledge. Our attitudes towards Neanderthals correlates with our
perceptions of diversity. We have always thought of Neanderthals as being less
intelligent. Today we categorize people of a specific race to some degree of
intelligence or skill. This idea of assumption without evidence is still prevalent among
the modern society to almost any topic you can talk

Moreover, Sigma must ensure that it has a plan to either recruit from within or hire new employees, to ensure the continuity of the firm. Notwithstanding, sometimes there are already valuable employees within the organization, that can fulfill the job requirements. For example, Adams (2012) states, external hires tended to have more education and experience than the internal hires, but employers don t appreciate how important it is for workers to know the ropes of an organization. People don t hit the ground running on day one. Consequently, there are relationships in organizations that are key to getting work done and a set of structures and routines. For example, knowing where and when to file papers, for instance, or whom to ask about approving a project, can make work much more efficient (p.1). It was crazy to find out that he was so into growing in his garden and raising these animals while being a very influential painter (Bordman Fell 2015). They say he could connect with nature very well and therefore surround him with all of this food. Since Claude was able to connect with nature so well he was able to see beauty in things that others could not see. He was living in a pink house that had all of his gardens and plants around it that he loved so dearly. The garden behind his pink house almost looked like a painting in how he had it so welly organized with the families of food grouped together and the trees that apples that took a lot of space bordering the outside boundary of the yard (Bordman Fell 2015). . This all comes to a surprise to me that he was so into gardening and painting, but like Meryl Sheep says that Claude Monet was much more than an artist. Although he claimed to be good at only two of life s endeavours painting and gardening he lived a life that included entertaining leaders in art and politics in the large dining room of his beautiful home in the bucolic Normandy countryside. This shows how he was a very unique guy that was in this world (Bordman Fell 2015).

There are so many things that we can relate from the author to Anne s character, it may be coincidental, but considering how Montgomery used writing as a therapeutic relief, it is quite evident that some of her traits and beliefs such as the aspect of depression and Hurtubise 4 loneliness were meant to be poured into the book (Rubio, Writing a life: L.M. The community outreach branch has been participating in the World Suicide Prevention Day campaigns since they were first organized, but there has been very little participation by the community, or even similar agencies, in this effort. It is most likely that it was written from Plath s personal experience as she was known for her suicidal nature. This poem has 28 tercet stanzas. There is no clear rhyme scheme yet rhyming can be found throughout this poem, for example I have done it again/One year in every ten , so there is an irregular rhyme scheme. Literary devices such as end stopped lines and enjambment are also used: What a trash/To annihilate each decade. One important aspect is the demonic tone of this poem. There are a number of themes brought up in Lady Lazarus . One theme is the holocaust. In the 2nd stanza, Plath mentions a Nazi lampshade . This refers to the myth that the Nazis used Jewish skin from the victims of the holocaust to make pieces of furniture such as lampshade and paperweight . This idea adds to the disturbance of the poem whilst illustrating the main theme of death. Another theme is the phoenix. This is a mythical, red haired bird that burns when it dies and resurrects out of the ash. Plath describes this process in her poem: I turn and burn...Out of the ash/I rise with my red hair . The idea of the phoenix resurrecting gives the reader powerful imagery whilst reinforcing the fact that Sylvia Plath wants to die but keeps coming back to life, like a phoenix. However, she sees this as a negative, which relates to, in my opinion, the most important aspect of this poem: the demonic tone. Plath uses carnival imagery to convey the image of her death being like a show, where people come to watch: The Peanut crunching crowd /Shoves in to see . This idea is disturbing and adds to the demonic tone of the poem. Also, she refers to Satan in the 27th stanza: Herr God, Herr Lucifer ; she is also demonising God in this quote, which is blasphemous and some might say evil. Finally, the image of a fire doesn t just relate to a phoenix burning but also the fires of hell : ...melts to a shriek./I turn and

The Romantic era, when Stevenson was working on his novella Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (Stevenson, 2014), was characterized by the rejection of faith in reason to faith in the senses. Most importantly Romanticism values freedom of the individual above all else. Stevenson connects the idea of nature with individuality, which is represented by Hyde, by using the idea of a sea of liberty. By describing the freedom that Hyde gives Jekyll with the image of something distinctly natural Stevenson associates nature with individuality and by doing so, reinforces the themes of rebellion and individuality in the novella. Hence, Stevenson s use of nature to represent that individuality demonstrates the use of Romantic elements in Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Nature itself is of two sides, one of peace and tranquillity and the other an uncontrollable destructive force and this aspect of the duality in nature is representative of the larger theme of duality present in Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Well, sir, the two ran into one another naturally enough at the corner; and then came the horrible part of the thing; for the man trampled calmly over the child s body and left her screaming on the ground.

The organization was not originally designed to execute what it carries out, and needs to change, or give way to a new governing body for intercollegiate affairs. It is a political machine, that selectively prosecutes cases, and is biased on a variety of issues. It has no clear balance or accountability partner for its actions either. It is blatant that the only acceptable course of action is a systematic change in the system, from all sides. The solutions are simple. A thorough review from the top down is necessary, and accountability needs to be found between the member schools, and the actual organization. Once a harmonious balance is struck, issues may be resolved when they are a smaller issue than when they grow, and entangle themselves into other

However, Blanche does attempt to seem confident about her appearance at times. While catching up with Stella, Blanche says, I want you to look at my figure! [She turns around] You know I haven t put on one ounce in ten years, Stella? (Williams 15). Blanche s desire for Stella to look at her stems from Blanche wanting Stella to admire her appearance, and compliment it. The emphasis on my makes the line come off as somewhat condescending as Blanche is putting her own body above Stella s, at least to some degree. Blanche s over compensation for her lack of confidence in her body makes her come off as annoying to other characters in the story, and to me. Blanche s lack of confidence in her appearance is later documented with Mitch. While talking in the bathroom, Mitch asks Blanche about the lanterns over the lightbulbs. Blanche responds, I can t stand a naked lightbulb, any more than I can a rude remark or vulgar action (Williams 60). Blanche can t stand a naked lightbulb, because she cannot bear being perceived as unattractive or old by a man. If a satyagrahi has truth on his side, he will win, and if his thought is faulty, he will suffer the consequences of his fault (Gandhi in Mukherjee 1993: 128). Truth is the highest dharma a person can attain. Dharma, is a person s duty and righteousness according to their caste, social class, or stage of life (Narayanan 2004: 58). This is why Rama is considered the Supreme God and a satyagrahi, because he always followed dharma. He always did his duty, and what he considered to be right. Therefore, a true satyagrahi will have good dharma, and Rama represents the ultimate satyagrahi. The Ramayan had at least 2 revivals in the last hundred years, the first was when Mahatma Gandhi described an ideal polity and just rule as Ramrajya (Vajpeyi 2011: 2). Gaines, the author of A Lesson Before Dying, and Harper Lee, the author of To Kill A Mockingbird, seem to be identical in their literary work. Both novels display racism and injustice poisons society because the innocent are destroyed physically and mentally by the two cruelties. Gaines portrays a story of a young coloured male, Jefferson, who seeks to become a man full of dignity before he dies from electrocution. Lee shares a story of a young white woman who accuses a young coloured male, Tom Robinson, of rape; Tom s lawyer, Atticus Finch, strongly defends him, but later Tom dies innocent. Throughout both novels, A Lesson Before Dying and To Kill A Mockingbird , share the theme of racismand injustice. This is evident through the similarities of characters, specifically Jefferson and Tom Robinson. Also, the theme is found within person against society conflicts in both novels. And lastly, the setting of the two books helps determine the theme of racism and injustice. Firstly, Jefferson and Tom both suffer from prejudice. In A Lesson Before Dying, the court wrongfully accuses Jefferson of stealing and murdering a white man. And in To Kill A Mockingbird, the jury unfairly charges Tom for raping a white woman. The legal system discriminates both innocent men because the legal system finds the men guilty based on their poor judgments of the men s races. For instance, Jefferson s defense argues, ... I ask you [the jury], I implore, look carefully do you see a man sitting here? Look at the shape of this skull, this face as flat as the palm of my hand look deeply into those eyes. Do you see a modicum of intelligence? Do you see anyone here who could plan a murder, a robbery... can plan anything? (Gaines 7). Despite Jefferson s humiliation from his defense, it is apparent that he is innocent because he has no courage to commit a crime such as the ones he is charged with. However, the jury is of twelve white men (Gaines 8) and during the 1940s, the white society feels no sympathy to the coloured society. Jefferson experiences unfairness from the court because he is a coloured man that stood in a white man s murder scene. This is also discoverable in To Kill A Mockingbird, the jury of Tom s trial is of

The New World had been discovered by explorers who wanted to locate a new route to India so that trade could be better established. However, once what is now known as the United States was founded, there were more opportunities for a variety of things, including slave labor, colonization, entrepreneurship, and even an escape from religious persecution and the social and political system of Europe. As a result of this drive for change, the European people aggressively came to America so that they could make changes, and this would be on behalf of the Native American people who already claimed the land. Fostering Identities Calloway s book is a great way to explain and illustrate the details of how the North American identity had been established, discussing the coming together of Native American and European people. The main idea and overall thesis of this book is that the European settlers and the Native Americans formulated a New World that altered and reformed the experience of what is now known as the United States. Through the text of these three prominent literacy works from the ancient history to the 1900 s, one element that is evident in all three literature works is hamartia, which is directly related to the protagonist making a tragic error that eventually leads to the final cataclysm. To get a deeper insight of how hamartia plays a big role in these works, the audience has to get a better understanding of the main character/protagonist of each play and get familiar with their personality traits along with how they act in desperate times in order to prevent tragedy, or be the cause of it.
