1. Editorial Essay Example
Writing an essay on the topic of "Editorial Essay Example" can present both challenges and
opportunities for the writer. The difficulty lies in the need to strike a balance between
informative content, persuasive arguments, and a well-structured narrative. Crafting an editorial
essay requires a deep understanding of the chosen topic, as well as the ability to analyze and
present opinions in a clear and coherent manner.
One of the challenges is the responsibility to express a unique perspective while maintaining
objectivity and providing evidence to support the arguments. It demands critical thinking,
research skills, and the ability to synthesize information from various sources. Additionally,
finding the right tone to engage and persuade the audience is crucial.
Moreover, the editorial essay should have a strong introduction that grabs the reader's attention,
a well-developed body that delves into the topic, and a compelling conclusion that leaves a
lasting impression. The writer must navigate through the complexities of language and structure
to convey their thoughts effectively.
Despite these challenges, writing an editorial essay offers the chance to explore one's opinions,
refine one's writing skills, and contribute to a broader conversation. It can be a rewarding
experience to present well-supported arguments and engage readers in critical thinking.
In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an editorial essay on any given topic involves
overcoming challenges related to research, analysis, and effective communication. However, with
dedication and the right approach, crafting a compelling essay is not only achievable but also an
opportunity for personal and intellectual growth.

2. The Sermon On The Mount
MOUNT # 1 INTRO.
Today we want to start a serioes of lessons on the SERMON ON THE MOUNT
http://andnowyouknowmore.blogspot.com
THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT: The background is found in Matthew s gospel.
The book of Mathew opens after breaking 400 years of silence between Malachi and
the birth of Jesus. During this 400 years of silence we have no canonical record of
prophets or leader to lead the people. I would think that there were some people still
looking for the Messiah.
Matthew begins with the genealogy of Jesus Christ the Son of David, the Son of
Abraham. He makes it clear that Jesus is the, the Son of David .
When we come to the 5th chapter of Matthew, Matthew Begins with Jesus and his
disciples climbing a small hill somewhere around Capernaum. But the exact location
is not positive. Today this ancient site of Capernaum, which tradition reports to have
been the place near where this sermon was delivered, and is called today, the Mount
of Beatitudes.
We find Jesus meeting with his disciples and a large group that followed. His
followers was not just from Galilee, but Decapolis, Judea, Jerusalem, and from Syria.
His meeting is different than from those of the Scribes and Pharisees who preferred
meeting in public places to be seen of men.
As the sermon begins, we see Him teaching the great multitudes that were following.
Luke also records that He was preaching to great multitudes and innumerable
multitudes .

3. Kinship Terms Essay
Kinship terms:
The most different feature between English and Vietnamese is kinship term which is
used like personal pronouns in English. On the contrary, in Vietnamese, it is
necessary to address exactly one s name. Even when the listeners don t have any
relation with the speakers. If the vocative is done exactly, the listeners are annoyed
and resentful. Talk about the kinship term, it is really a challenge for the foreigners,
and Vietnamese people are not exception.
The Vietnamese kinship terms can reveal the relation of the speakers and listeners
very clearly. Thanks to that, it becomes an interesting feature of Vietnamese system.
Namely, in English, we use only the pronoun he to refer both brother and father, but

Supposing that when we communicate to other people; especially with the older
people than us without using personal pronouns, it is said an unschooled person. As
we can see from all the contrast I have made between English and Vietnamese
personal pronoun system, it is not easy to find the equivalence of both two languages.
Therefore, I would like suggest some discussions about teaching and learning English
Vietnamese.
Firstly, because of change of personal pronouns in the process of translation
Vietnamese into English and vice versa, we don t need to translate exactly the
meaning of the word, just need the basic meaning that both communicators can
interact. Teacher has to understand that situation clearly to explain to the student to
avoid mistakes. Besides the grammatical interpretations, the teacher needs to add
some examples to demonstrate for these points.
Secondly, personal pronouns relate to the other grammatical points such as passive
voice and metaphor sentence that is the reason why the students need to gain the
basic grammar, and then upgrade their knowledge through every
4. I Don t A Good President
When friends of mine who are Trump supporters inform me that they support him,
I don t understand the reasons why they picture him as our future president of the
united states. Donald Trump has never been an elected official. He has never been
elected into an office of any kind. He s never had to broker political compromise or
gave any political speeches prior to him running for president. With no experience in
politics at all, why would people think he d make a good president? Sure, Donald
Trumpis a barefaced self promoter and experienced businessman. But people don t
realize all of the mistakes he has made as a businessman. Washington, D.C., is not
a type of Wall Street or anything for him to lose money or make some reckless
decisions that would put our country into a deeper hole that we are already into,
and also getting multiple things done within the nation s capital takes more than a
huge personality and a strong will. If Donald Trump is elected to be our president,
he ll have to quickly learn how to deal with his Democratic associates in the House
of Representatives and Senate. He ll also have to get used to the pace of
government because there are moments when things can accelerate pretty quickly
and also where things can move extremely slow at times. He ll also have to get used
to giving speeches on topics he may not be interested in, especially when it comes to
conversations dealing with housing for the poor, education and various farming
contributions. Being
5. Comparing Star-Crossed Lovers In Zeffirelli s Romeo And...
For never was a story of more woe Than this of Juliet and her Romeo Romeo and
Juliet, the tragedy in which star crossed lovers meet their fate and endure a terrible
ending. Though many different movies and other authors tried to copy the famous
Shakespearian play, most do not succeed in capturing all the details and emotions
the original script offers. The spin offs and even movies fail to include different
famous lines and acting scenes. One of which is the 1968 version of Romeo and
Juliet directed by Franco Zeffirelli. Although many similarities occur throughout the
story of the star crossed lovers in the movie, a few minor and major differences also
appear. The first obvious difference between the play and the movie happens in the
first act. In the play version, Romeo reads a party invitation for the Capulet servant.
He knows of the Capulet party because he reads the letter. In the movie, the Capulet
servant does not appear, Romeo just shows up at the party. Even though act one of the
play features some minor differences, most details are the same. Both start out with
the feuding families fighting in the street. In addition,... Show more content on

Just as described in the play, the movie version pictures Juliet arriving at Friar
Lawrence s cell as Paris talks to the Friar about the wedding. However, in the play
version, Juliet has a polite conversation with Paris, and almost seems as if she is
happy to marry Paris. In contrast, the movie shows Juliet hiding behind the Friar
and begs Paris to leave. Other discrepancies in act four include the movie not
describing the wedding day getting pushed up, Juliet takes the potion she receives
from the Friar in her night clothes, and Romeo does not visit the apothecary to
purchase the deadly poison. The story line of the movie encompasses the same details
as the play version, but variations do make the movie noticingly different from the

The question, are bad choices and good choices equally likely to have negative
consequences suggests that making any choice will most likely to leave effect on
other involved in. In other words, decisions have no good or bad quality, by the
consequences define a fine decision maker. In my opinion, people tend to choose
authorized people with the least negative effects in the their success. Through out life
and society, the evidence to support my viewpoint is pervasive.
Consider the case of Kindred, written by Octovia Butler in 1980, set in 1960
Maryland and 1984 California. A black woman, Dana, was forcefully sent back in
time to Maryland. She struggle to handle slavery enforcement, but with the help of
Rufus, the white master, she was able to ease her pain with lighter punishments.
However, Dana had no choice in the end to kill Rufus because he was becoming his
late father whose soul is full of scorn toward the people of color. Her choice had
helped the slaves in Rufus home to escape t freedom. Unfortunately, she caused a life
that loved her from the bottom of his heart. The decision she mad is with wise
judgement that has been written down for the youngs to learn from. All in all, no

This factor can be critically evaluated. Whereas, Apple mainly relies on factors
related to technological innovations and development, Cadbury s main focus is on the
taste of the chocolate. Thus, Cadbury often faces challenging situations because
consumers can deal with the exclusion of technological advancements to some extent
but they never compromise in the case of the taste of food. But, most experts agree
on the fact that these companies have hardly ever taken or implemented a wrong
decision. This is the reason why Apple and Cadbury are the leaders in their respective

The Role of Alternative Medicine Important in a Society Traditionally Dominated by
Western Style Medicine: Australia
Introduction
This study intends to examine the role of alternative medicine in Australia in what is
a society traditionally dominated by western style medicine. Nissen (2011) reports
that the use of therapies designated as complementary and alternative medicine
(CAM) in Europe, Australia and North America is well established, and the popularity
of CAM is linked with a wide range of factors, including disappointment with
biomedical healthcare and the rise of chronic health complaints, dissatisfaction with
the doctor patient relationship, post modern values, and personal world views. (p.187)
The growth of CAM is explained by some social theorists as being linked to the
patterns of consumerism and life style choices and have characterized it as
narcissistic self absorption that reflects the anxieties of an increasingly atomized
society. (Nissen, 2011, p.187) It was reported in February, 2012 that approximately
400 high profile doctors, medical researchers and scientists recently joined forces to
form lobby group Friends of Science (FSM) in order to have alternative medicine
degrees removed from Australian universities. (Schwager, 2012, p.1) Listed as some
of the courses that they are targeting are those of: Chiropractic, osteopathy, Chinese
medicine, naturopathy, iridology, kinesiology, reflexology, homeopathy and

find something warm to drink that is decaf, maybe warm milk. Sit down and relax
while you drink it, preferably somewhere comfortable and soft, not your bed
though, couch or a lounge chair. NO TV or COMPUTER!!! I will repeat, do not
use your computer or watch tv, both of these keep your mind from wanting to fall

12. The Illusion Of Popular Culture
The Illusion of Popular Culture
In the early 19th century a man by the name of Phineas Taylor Barnum changed
popular culture with his extraordinary talent of promoting and advertising. His first
success came with a slave woman known as Joice Heath who he claimed to be the
nurse of George Washington. If this was true it would put Joice at 161 years old,
thousands of people went to see The greatest natural and national curiosity in the
world (Perlman 4/6/16) which turned Joice from an elderly woman to a national
spectacle. I believe that the portrayal of women in 19th century popular culture has
prevented the detachment of gender roles and has actually created confusion in the
eyes of the masses. I will start by comparing the Turkish Dance, Ella Lola which is
a short film of a woman dancing made in 1898 with 1850s megastars Madame
Clofullia and Jenny Swedish Nightingale Lind, then I will compare the film to the
New Women of Barnum and Bailey as well as early 20th century women. In order
to fully understand my argument it is necessary to analyze the film by itself. The
Turkish dance, Ella Lola is a video of a young woman dancing, she is wearing two
skirts, necklaces, a flower headband, and a loose shirt. The dancing contains a lot
of swirls, and hand movements as well as pelvic thrusts in both slow and fast
tempos, she shakes her upper body making the necklaces and her shirt ricochet off
each other. This was filmed in 1898 which was during the progressive

15. Examples Of Naturalism In The Open Boat
The Open Boat by Stephen Crane is a perfect example of naturalism. The Open Boat
is a short story that is written on the instances the crew along with a captain had to go
through because of a shipwreck. In this short story, Crane develops the characters
from the physical to the mental aspects. He brings the characters to life so vividly
when he describes what each individual has to face both mentally and physically. The
characters have now yet to encounter the larger force in the story, which in this case
is nature. Naturalism is most eminent when Crane writes about their determination to
keep going, mental struggles, and their constant fight with fate.
The Open Boat is an appropriate example of what naturalism in literature is because

Naturalism comes into play because when Crane writes on the four sailor s thoughts,
he makes sure to make them vividly realistic and relating to what anyone in this
helpless situation would think. Nature or fate was really waiving on them with every
strong wave that came their way. The sailors thought of nature as a superior being
who wanted to hurt them and had the power to determine whether they lived or died
at sea. The action of blaming a superior being for a catastrophe can be symbolism of
naturalism. Another example can be when the four sailors were asking fate or
God why they would die after going so far and not giving up, If I am going to be
drowned if I am going to be drowned if I am going to be drowned, why, in the name
of the seven mad gods who rule the sea, was I allowed to come thus far and
contemplate sand and trees? (Crane 1001). The four sailors are a representation of
what a tough situation can makes people think. They were battling and questioning
fate and what intentions it hold for them. They all, at one point, thought they were
going to die and anyone in this scenario would also think that, that is why this is an
example of naturalism.
In this short story Crane depicts determination with such realism that puts it in the
category of naturalism. Determination is a force of nature that takes place when
humans are being held in extraordinary circumstances which in this case the sailors
were put in this type of scenario. The crew along with the

Overview of the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance In 2004, the
Organization for Economic Co operation and Development published it revised
Principles of Corporate Governance, initially endorsed by OECD Ministers in 1999,
following comprehensive survey of how member countries addressed the different
corporate governance challenges they faced. The review was supported by OECD
Ministers, international organizations such as the World Bank, the private sector and

enhancement of their legal, institutional and corporate governance framework in their
respective countries. The principles focused on publicly quoted companies (OECD,
2004, p.13). The OECD Principles of corporate Governance include the following: *
The establishment of an effective corporate governance framework to address the key

When it comes to September 11th attack, I believe many Americans were confused as
to why other countries did not try to help them when they needed it the most. This
made Americans angry and even made an environment of us vs. them. Even after
years have passed since that day that changed the lives of many Americans, we still
can t understand the lengths that suicide bombers and terrorists go because of
ethnocentrism. Prior to the September 11th attack, both Americans and non
Americans were attacked, yet only one was found right and the other is wrong. This
is not to say that terrorist groups are in the right, their invasion is still occurring. But
unlike the United States, they invaded without military like the United States.
Since September 11, American politics and governance has focused on the war of
terror and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Some believe that ethnocentrism
contributes to a variety of attitudes when it comes to the war of terror. However, I
believe that attitudes towards the war on terrors relates less on a generalized

People who are ethnocentric are not able to understand why people from other
groups act a certain way and even judge them. Patriotism can be defined as
someone s love and devotion to their country where their country is number one

and patriotism are related to each other. Patriotism might lead people to see things
from their point of view with disregard to other peoples opinions. I do think that
patriotism is good and we all should love and be devoted to our country, but it is
also important to keep in mind that other people s cultures, groups, and countries and

we view cultures differently from out history, I want to know how members of
society are treated differently based on their ethnicity, and how people are treated
in the professional world based on their world views. When Beauty comes to mind

this displays ethnocentrism because it conveys a message in which being non

this is how makeup comes in so few shades for darker women. This might be
because there is not a big enough consumer base to use more shades of makeup but it

20. Biography of Isaac Newton Essay
Isaac Newton was a key figure in the development of the age of reason. His
achievements revolutionized physics and mathematics and he has been
recognized as an undisputed genius (Gardner 13). Newton was a intriguing
individual who played an important role in the advancement of the scientific
community of his time and of today. Newton was born on Christmas day in 1642 to
a widowed farming mother. When he was three his mother left him in the care of
his grandmother, so she could remarry (Westfall 1). After being widowed for a
second time she came back to help care for her son. At the age of twelve he was
sent to The King s School in Grantham to continue his education. Here he began to

He also invented the methods of calculus and began his research of optics and the
color spectrum (da C. Andrade 50). The unfortunate thing about Newton s
astounding discoveries was that he never published any of them until later in his
life, which caused much conflict. This period was the prime of Newton s interest
in math and science, as time progressed his interest faded towards alchemistry
(chemical experimentation) and interpreting Biblical prophecy of which his written
works far outnumber those on natural philosophy and mathematics (Gardner 13).
Despite his in depth involvement in logic and natural philosophy, Newton still
passionately believed in the necessity of God. He felt that only a divine being
could create a universe of such harmonic balance, and that God periodically
intervened to keep everything intact and working properly (White 329). Newton s
character astounded some and outraged others. Newton was very withdrawn from
the world, all his works he studied and performed in isolation and seldom shared his
ideas with others. The delay of the publication of his works in natural philosophy
was due to his extreme fear of criticism. Newton s greatest work Philosophiea
Naturalis Principia Mathmatica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy),
often just called the Principia, wasn t published until 1686, after Edmond Halley had
convinced him to publish it despite Newton s fear of his devout critic, Robert Hooke
(Weisstein 1). Newton

Sea Level Rise and Its Impact on Coastal Zones: Planning for Sea Level Rise in the
Matanzas Basin (168 226): Sea level rise will cause many issues among human
development as well as different species. The article established many regions in
Flagler and St. Johns County which presents future trends on outcomes from
species degradation or housing development/population. The maps range from St.
Augustine Shores to Palm Coast. It tells about the areas which would be either
highly migrated species (as they lost their habitat due to 1m of sea level rise) or
the areas which would be inhabited by developers as the sea level rises. The article
later discusses ways which they can focus on areas less vulnerable as the sea level
begins to rise. Sea level rise is becoming a major, subtitle, problem not many people
are aware about. Some people might believe that sea level rise is a myth because it
relates to global warming. However, there are physical changes happening which is
proof sea level rise happening and it is a major problem. The major proofs of sea
level rise is the melting of the ice caps located in Greenland and parts of the
Antarctic. Carbon dioxide we put into the atmosphere every day from burning fossil
fuels is causing this problem. As the sunlight enters the earth, the carbon dioxide
collects the rays and heats up the earth slowly. The amount of solar rays coming into
the earth is increasing as well which is also caused by the numerous carbon dioxide in

One thing connective tissue can cause is osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is the wear and
tear of cartilage on the end of your bones; commonly your hands, knees and hips.
To keep homeostasis cells divide and replenish themselves. As you age more so in
the elderly cells that maintain healthy cartilage go to sleep. When this happens the
cells cannot properly perform their task of keeping cartilage healthy and strong.
Also, cells in this sleep like state have what is called shortened telomeres. This
occurs when cells divide over and over again. These shortened telomeres are what
make the cells go into a sleep like state. Due to these changes in the cartilage this
can cause great pain, discomfort and stiffness. It can also cause mobility issues in
the elderly. This puts the elderly at high risk for falls and ultimately other possible
injuries. This can be very frustrating as it can affect their independence and ability to
perform everyday tasks. There are medicines, therapies and surgery to help with
osteoarthritis. People with osteoarthritis can lead a very fulfilling life when this
disease is treated correctly. Epithelial tissue helps protect your body from moisture
loss, bacteria and internal injuries. A very common disease you can get is asthma.
Allergens may interact and injure bronchial epithelium which can lead to long term
asthma. In asthma the epithelium loses its superficial layer and destruction of the
ciliated cells. In patients with severe

What leads to the other?
There is yet another disadvantage of the reservation system. The thought behind
reservation was to give everyone equal opportunities and reduce the social gap
between people caused by having different opportunities and responsibility in the
society. But it seems that they may be reinforcing the caste divisions.
Reservation enhances the identity politics and gives castes and ethnicity more
importance in the Indian society. In a country with such a huge diversity in religions,
beliefs and traditions, caste based reservations seem to be another way of fragmenting
the nation instead of bringing people together. (fokusindia.no)(Caste based

In this way, reservation system brutally perpetuates the caste system,a system which
everyone feels we need to do away with for better progress and development.

24. Equilibrium Vs. Static Equilibrium
When all the forces acting on an object are balanced, or equal to zero, that object is
said to be in equilibrium. In the formula ОЈF = ma, the net force, ОЈF, and the
acceleration, a, are equal to zero when an object is in equilibrium. Newton s first law,
also known as the law of inertia, is associated with equilibrium. It states that when
there is no net forceacting on an object, then if it is at rest, it will stay at rest, and if it
is motion it will remain in motion. Equilibrium is divided into two types: dynamic
and static. Dynamic is where an object is in motion at a constant, unchanging speed,
whereas static is an object that stays at rest. Although not entirely the same, dynamic
and static equilibrium play important roles in motion and force.
When all forces acting on an object add up to zero and balance out, it is known as
equilibrium. In ОЈF = ma, the net force, ОЈF, and the acceleration, a, must be equal to
zero. There are two types of equilibrium: dynamic, which is when an object is in
constant motion, and static, when an object stays at rest. As long as the opposing
forces add up to zero or if there is no force at all, it is in equilibrium, whether it is in
motion or not. The net force and the acceleration must be equal to zero, however
having an acceleration of 0 m/s/s does not mean the object is at rest ( Equilibrium
and Statics ). Equilibrium derives from Newton s first law, also known as the law of
inertia. Newton came up with this law after building up on

27. The Fusion Of Spinal Fusion
Spinal fusion is categorized into three different categories: cervical, thoracic, and
lumbar, in conjunction with the different segments of the spine. Each type of spinal
fusion has a different goal depending on the purpose of the surgery. Most surgeries
involve fusing vertebrae together to limit its range of motion, thereby hopefully
reducing the pain or correcting any physical deformities. Depending on the levels of
fusion, spinal fusion surgeries tend to last a few hours. Complications may arise
during surgery, and they greatly increase depending the location of the fusion,
levels of fusion, and if the surgery crosses any important nerve sites. Levels of
spinal fusion are known as the fusion between two different vertebrae. If there is a
fusion between L1 and L2, that is known as one level of fusion. If there is another
site of fusion at L3 and L4, than there will be two levels of spinal fusion. Lumbar
fusion are further complicated when more then one level of performed. By limiting
one segment s range of motion, other segments of the spine will have to compensate
and create greater range of motion. With lumbar fusion, most doctors will need to be
able to identify why a patient needs lumbar fusion, and being able to identify if
lumbar fusion will help alleviate the pain. Most cases of lumbar fusion involve
spondylolisthesis, fractures, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, and possibly herniated disk if
no other further treatment has proven successful. Most physicians will order an

his heart condition. Lee sat down against a rail fence (106). Lee took a quick nap

preoccupied with the pain of a health condition, and taking it easy. Another
problem Lee had was that he was seen as a father figure to most of the men and
treated them softly. Stuart was supposed to be gathering information for Lee, but
instead he was out joy riding which left the Army of Northern Virginia basically
blind as to where the North regiments were positioned. Longstreet said When Stuart

In Susan Hill s introduction to The Woman In Black she mentions M.R. James
short stories as some of the greatest ghost stories ever written. Her appreciation of

between the two texts. Hill was greatly inspired by the setting of Oh, Whistle, and I

Both writers use the setting effectively to set down the mood of the story.
The main characters in the stories are also very similar, both Parkins ( Oh, Whistle,
and I ll Come to You, My Lad ) and Arthur (The Woman In Black) are young, curious
and non believers of anything to do with the supernatural. Parkins in particular makes
his views very clear:
My own views on such subjects are very strong. I am, in fact, a convinced disbeliever
in what is called the supernatural
It is obvious from this that Parkins feels strongly on the matter of the supernatural,
as does Arthur. The similarities do not end there; they both harbour a desire to
explore and in Oh, Whistle, and I ll Come to You, My Lad it is this desire to explore
which leads to the main element of the story, the unearthing of the whistle and visit of
the ghost. In the novel, Arthur s tendencies to explore lead to him discovering the
graveyard and the ghost. Also both writers use events in the story to shape the
personality of the characters, for example, Parkins begins Oh, Whistle, and I ll
Come to You, My Lad as a strict disbeliever of folk lore and ghosts but ends the story
being forced to believe them after experiencing them himself. Also both characters are
haunted by their experiences, Arthur specifically cannot escape the memories of the

Problems
USA faced many problems under NAFTA agreement. These were due to Teamsters,
Congress and lastly the effects US had to face because of increased tariff rates by
Mexico. Each problem is summarized in detail
Teamsters According to Teamsters Mexican trucks were old, dirty and were more
dangerous than American drivers. The drivers had poor safety records and did not
follow the safety and environmental standards. In America there are limited hours for
driver which is ignored in Mexico. Because of the pressure from Teamsters, US had
to pull its hand from NAFTA agreement.
Congress Congress was involved in thwarting the NAFTA agreement that was
administered under President Bush. It was even involved in killing pilot program
along with Teamsters in year 2007.
Tariffs After abandonment of NAFTA in 2009, Mexico imposed tariffs on some $2.4

33. Essay on Setting in Hills Like White Elephants, by Ernest...
Swaying trees in the distance, blue skies and birds chirping, all of these are
examples of setting. Setting can create the mood and tone of characters in a story. In
the story Hills Like White Elephants, the story starts out with our two characters, Jig
and the American, also referred to as the man, on a trainoverlooking mountains. The
girl was looking off at the line of hills. They were white in the sun and the country
was brown and dry (Hemingway). In the case of this short story, the hills provided Jig
something to take her mind off of the grueling conversation she was having with the
Man. As said by a critic, the story itself is comprised almost entirely of dialogue.

Along with the location of setting, the time also plays an important factor.
Hemingway uses a lot of symbols and figurative language, so the time of the story
was not clear cut. Hemingway however, did give us clues for our imaginations to
think about what time it actually was. There was no shade and no trees and the
station was between two lines of rails (Hemingway). This indicates that it was mid
day and there was no shade to take cover in. As the story progresses the time of the
day also carries on. There was a warm shadow of the building and a curtain, made
of bamboo beads hung to keep the flies out (Hemingway). In this quote it is
suggesting that it was late afternoon and the sun was moving. The couple at this
point arrived at the station therefore the building was casting a shadow. The most
important of all subjects of setting is tone. Tone can control how the whole story
will play out, as well as how the characters act towards each other. Please, please,
please, please, please stop talking (Hemingway). Jig says this to the Man because
he is adamant about talking to Jig about the operation. Jig gets fed up with the Man
s constant pestering and she finally tells him to be quite. The Man also shows his
voice in the story, he tries to comfort Jig as well as help her make an important
decision. I don t want to make you do anything you don t want to (Hemingway). This

Kesey uses several symbolic references that lead the readers to believe that
McMurphy symbolised Christ to the men in the hospital. These extracts examplify
how McMurphy develops as a Christ figure. The novel depicts how the religious

The poem, Advice to Young Ladies , crafted by A.D. Hope, does contain similar
dominant discourse of conformity in Kesey s novel. Although it foregrounds a
particular viewpoint similar to the one presented in Kesey s novel, the
representations of religious and sexuality supports the conformity discourse.
Postumia is not conformed to the Vestal Virgin as she is thought to talk too witty

readers to see Postumia s smartness as a threat for men and her life being torn from
her. A religious discourse can be used to explain this phenomenon. Hope portrays to

Females did not have the right to use intelligence or even the right to express

Power and it s stopping China from letting people trade and go to other countries
because the king was afraid of his people realizing that there are lots of better
places in other countries and other countries have better products than China. If
people finds out that other countries better place to live than people will start
complaining and scatter to other countries. This will eventually make China lose
power and other countries will start to invade and attack China. Next, document 9

who meet them and trades with barbarian before the examination of the ship will

whole family will be exiled from the country. Since those rules existed, China just
built a huge wall to development and they threw away the time to develop and
dominate the Indian Ocean. Moreover, document 5 tells us what kind
38. RCA Essay
Improvements for RCA Make Regent Christian Academy great again. A generous
high school graduate from Regent, has blessed the school with a large financial gift.
The donated money should be focused towards the improvement of the P.E
department, Fine arts department, and the school campus. The physical education
department is one of the sections that the money should be used for. First, the school
needs more P.E equipment, as well as an upgrade of the current equipment. For
example, the badminton nets that are being used right now are not the proper nets for
a game. Because of the temporary nets, RCA is unable to host badminton games and
tournaments. Another example, would be the badminton racquets and the lacrosse
sticks, many of them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather than just having basic elective classes expanding their selection gives them
the freedom to try new things, and see what they like and dislike. Secondly, similar
to the P.E department there is also a lack of equipment in the Fine arts department.
An example for this would be drama costumes, there is a lack of funds for the
drama department to buy costumes and scripts. Therefore, it becomes quite
challenging for the drama teachers and students to pick a production that they can
actually produce. Putting in more funds toward Fine arts equipment will allow
students to do more activities . Lastly, there should be more field trips for the fine
arts department. For example, a field trip for the choir class could be going to an
opera, while the drama class could go to a play or musical and the art class could
go to a museum. All of these additions in the fine arts department will be money
well spent, because it will allow the students of RCA to explore their God given
talents, and it will inspire them to be more creative and work harder. A major
portion of the financial gift should go towards renovations for the school campus.
First, the school building needs to be enlarged, because there is not enough space for
everyone to be in the same building. This has been a challenge for many students,
because they have classes in portables

The telephone company, then, creates a physical Paper Draft, which they submit for
the payment.
Stop payments on Electronic/Paper Drafts are often difficult because the merchant
will sometimes make up a random check number when creating the draft. This
means if we place a stop payment on a specific check number, it could possibly clear
as a different number and bypass the stop payment we created.
Gather as much information as possible from the previous drafts that the merchant
has done.

40. Fahrenheit 451 Truth Quotes
The fear of the truth and admitting the truth is boldly seen in Fahrenheit 451, and
then when it is revealed to the person, it results in brokenness and sorrow. Beatty is a
prime example of avoiding the truth. Throughout the book, he hints at knowing the
truth, but covers it up by burning books and peoples opinions, and then building
technology full of junk. Because of this, Beatty is left broken and sad, and eventually,
he pays for it. When Montag was burning his house along with the books, he pointed
the flame thrower at Beatty and stood there. He turned it on and flames ate Beatty up,
then he thought to himself afterwards that Beatty wanted to die. In the middle of
crying Montag knew it for the truth. Beatty wanted to die. He had just stood there, not
really trying to save himself, just stood there, joking, needling, thought Montag, and
the thought was enough to stifle his sobbing and let him pause for air (116).... Show

41. Case Example Of Due Process Clause
The Due Process Clause is a person right to fair government procedures/trail. A
person can not be sentenced to jail because they are suspected of a crime. A right
to fair trial in front of a juror is one of the individual rights to a Due process of law.
The States law cannot deprive a person of their rights to life, liberty, or property
without obtaining consent to do so from a legislative authority. Case Example: Roe v
Wade Facts: The Texas Penal Code restricts legal abortions to those procured or
attempted by medical advice to save the life of the mother. Roe (plaintiff), a pregnant
single woman, brought suit against Wade (defendant), a Texas state official because
the statute was an unconstitutional constraint on her right to obtain

OFFP (Oil for Food Program) exercised sanctions and Escrow was paid and the
revenue generated from Petroleum products were accounted in the United Nation s
Escrow account.
These proceeds collected in the escrow accounts could be released only for the
transaction of permitted commodities including food stuffs. AWB was a major
supplier of Wheat to Iraq under the Oil for Food Program (Australasian Legal
Information Institute, 2017a).
There were number of contraventions in this case. The first issue was regarding
paying the 10% of proceeds as the carriage cost pertaining to the wheat contracts to
Alia. This was later paid to the government. Alia was an intermediary company
aiding in the completion of the overall dealings related to the case under analysis.
Iraq was able to get the hard currency from this. Provisions were made to reimburse
the payment portion received by AWB which further strengthened the ability to
accumulate hard currency. In other words, the money from escrow account of UN
was being used for purposes which were other than making payment for the
commodities not permitted (Austin and Reynolds, 2012).
The second breach by AWB is the business contract they had with Tigris (another
company). The contract was focused on recovering significant debt estimated to be of
approximately $8 million, for transporting wheat to Iraq. To achieve this objective,
AWB inflated the price of wheat under the OFFP contracts which eventually resulted
in the payment from the
43. Smokers Vs. Expensive Cigars
Many people consider the aroma of a lighted cigar to be a welcome scent, unlike
the stench of many of the cigarettes on the market. There will be some variation
between the expensive cigars and the less costly ones, however, that does not
necessarily mean that it won t be appreciated. Cigars are not for everyone but those
who choose to burn a cigar have very specific reasons for doing so. Most cigar
smokers will tell you that there is a particular art to burning a cigar and if it is not
followed they might be inclined to say something about it to the inexperienced
smoker.
The way it wasIn a world where smoking cigarettes seem to be gradually becoming
a thing of the past it is interesting to note that cigars are still very popular. Some
smokers consider the cigar as part of a tradition that has been handed down through
the years by family members. These smokers will agree that they continue the
tradition as a way to relax and unwind. There are times when they will look for
expensive cigars just to say they had the best. Some of these cigar smokers admit that
they consider smoking cigars to be a hobby for them. ... Show more content on

The inexperienced smokers might be willing to support their habit from the corner
store. Smokers who have been engaged in the practice for a while will be inclined
to take their business to more experienced outlets like mydiscountcigar. Cigars come
in a few different strengths, however, the biggest attraction to cigars is the flavors.
The variety of available flavors makes it a top priority for smokers to keep coming
back until they have tried them
44. Analyze The Ways In Which Television Has Effected
Education
In chapter 10 Postman discusses the ways in which television has effected education.
He uses the example of Sesame Street quite a lot throughout the chapter. He begins by
stating Sesame Street was almost guaranteed to be successful with children due to the
fact that having children learn through essentially commercials is nothing new. While
the show is educational it is still pure entertainment. He continues of to say that
Sesame Street actually goes against traditional book learningbut puts of a front that it
teaches children to love school. It does not teach children to love school, but rather to
love television. Going to a classroom is a place where the children can interact
socially and the television show isolates them, in a classroom
