Five Paragraph Essay Outline
Crafting an essay on the topic of a "Five Paragraph Essay Outline" may seem deceptively simple
at first glance, given the apparent structure provided by the traditional five-paragraph format.
However, the difficulty lies in striking a balance between adhering to this rigid structure and
infusing the essay with depth and creativity.
On one hand, the five-paragraph essay outline imposes a strict framework, demanding an
introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. This format can be restrictive, making it
challenging to explore complex ideas or delve into nuanced arguments. The writer must carefully
organize their thoughts within these limitations, ensuring each paragraph serves its designated
purpose without becoming redundant.
Moreover, maintaining a coherent flow throughout the essay is essential. Transitioning seamlessly
between paragraphs while developing a compelling thesis statement and supporting arguments
requires finesse. Juggling these structural elements while keeping the content engaging and
insightful can be a daunting task.
Furthermore, finding unique perspectives within the constraints of this format poses a challenge.
Writers must resist the temptation to produce formulaic essays by injecting originality into their
work. This requires a delicate balance between adhering to the prescribed outline and offering
fresh insights that captivate the reader's attention.
In conclusion, while the five-paragraph essay outline offers a clear structure, navigating its
constraints can be a demanding task. Writers must skillfully manage the balance between
structure and creativity, ensuring their essay not only follows a prescribed format but also stands
out as a thoughtful and engaging piece of writing.

Suffering in Buddhism and Hinduism
The concept that all life is suffering directly to the Hindu and Buddhist teachings have
a lot in common, but they are two different religions that have different belies and
teachings for their religion. They both use the same word dukkha in order to describe
their way of suffering, but their meaning of suffering has a small difference.
When it comes to Buddhism you are born into suffering and that your task is to find
a solution for serving. In Buddhism dukkha as it is described by the Four Noble

Hinduism suffering is just a part of life and so which means that suffering is natural
to the Hindu religion. For example in Hinduism dukkha means that physical, mental
and emotional instability and afflictions arise from the dualities and modifications of
the mind and body. Hinduism has its Caste System where it gives their people orders
of how to live their life.
The Caste System has four different types of groups where the groups have
different meanings and people don t get to choose which type of group they want,
because they are born into it. This system had a lot of people suffering, because
they didn t have any freedom to do what they want or be what they wanted.
Brahmins belong to the highest caste. They are priests and scholars. Kshatryas are
soldiers and warriors. Vaisyas are merchants and professionals. Sudras are the lowest
cast. They are labors and
The Next Generation of Storytelling Essay
Storytelling has been mankind s most broad and universal occupation since its
conception and has come a long way, developing new techniques and expanding in
multiple domains. It can be considered an ancient form of art because it is crucial for
human expression. Every culture has made a contribution to the narration of stories
in various fields, such as, entertainment, literature, education, the media and so forth,
with the purpose of conveying an important message, or purely to entertain. One
entertainment medium which has been disregarded over the course of the years is
the video games industry. Over the last few years, this industry has developed into
one of the most complex branches in entertainment and has gained a great number of

A famous game that followed a clear and simple pattern was Mario, where the
player was given the task of searching for the princess in successively empty
castles. Another example of an early game is Space Invaders, where the goal of the
game was to destroy multiple rows of pixelated aliens. Because storytelling
techniques were primitive in the early years, the player was not rewarded with
cutscenes that drove the plot forward; instead he got points that were accumulated a
total score. However, with the passing of time, technology and the gaming audience
evolved and matured, creating new opportunities for the medium to expand its
horizons and develop new storytelling techniques. Following the significant
evolutions in technology, video games have adopted these advancements and
continued to become more elaborate, especially with the use of motion capture,
which allows technicians to capture and record the live performance of actors that
are applied to the 3D models of the virtual character. This is only one element that
makes the products of this medium so appealing and immersive for the player. These
technological advancements have given to the developers of video games the
opportunity to construct stories and characters which are more believable and
complex, bringing about a narrative revolution. In recent years, video games have
boasted captivating and thoughtful stories, allowing the
Risk Assessment Of A Health Or Social Care Setting
P3 To carry out a risk assessment in a health or social care setting
For P3, I am going to carry out a risk assessment that will describe what risks can be
faced to the 12 residents who suffer from Down s syndrome as I will be cooking a
Christmas dinner with them for their family.
In this part, I am going to talk about the elder people in the residential care home that
are cooking a Christmas dinner for their families. In this, I am going to identify the
hazards that might occur and how to resolve them.
Hazard: Anything that has the probability or may cause harm (what could go wrong).
Likelihood: The chance of harm occurring as a result of exposure to a hazard.
Consequence: The level of harm that may occur as a result of exposure to or contact
with a hazard.
Risk: Risk is the chance high or low that an event/hazard will occur or may prevent
the Trust from achieving its objectives.
A risk assessment is a plan put in place to reduce the risk of harm occurring, it aims
to identify potential risks to the health, safety or security of a care practitioner. Risk
assessments have to be held under the health and safety at work act and
Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999. Five steps to risk assessment
can be followed to ensure that your risk assessment is carried out correctly, these five
steps are:
1. Identify the hazards
2. Decide who might be harmed and how
3. Evaluate the risks and decide on control measures
4. Record your findings and implement them
5. Review
Causes Of Failure Of Bridge Roof Vibration
CAUSES OF FAILURE OF BRIDGE
Deck Vibration Since the well known bridge, Tacoma Narrows Bridge was
destroyed in 1940 the designers and owners started to concern more about the
stability of bridge deck. For short and long term of monitoring the deck, the
instruments of geophysical are increase used which are;
1.accelerometers and tilt meter
2.strain gages
Figure1: Tacoma Narrows Bridge with severe vibration
Figure 2: Tacoma Narrows Bridge after collapse due to wind fluttering
These are several problems that had been summarized;
1.The stability of aerodynamic of bridge deck when subject to high wind.
2.Some effect on stability of bridge decks for long term, impact by fatigue that
caused by cyclic stresses which are including increased loading from the traffic,
temperature changes and trucks that have heavy load.
3.The bridge decks stability during earthquakes.
All the geophysical techniques are applied to overcome problems above. Those are
principally specific to the vibration monitoring and some environmental monitoring
which is vibration monitoring including strains, displacements, rotation and
acceleration, while environmental monitoring including wind and temperature. All of
these are affected
Below are two major solutions to overcome fluttering problems of cable bridges;
1.Modification of the deck
To create more stiff deck, the shape and configuration of the bridge deck must be
modified (with respect to the length of the span).

Brechtian Alienation in Theater Performance Essay
Brechtian Alienation in Community Performance
Eugen Berthold Friedrich Brecht, (b.1898 d.1956), known commonly as Bertolt
Brecht, was a German poet and playwright. One of his major contributions to theatre
history was the alienation effect (From the German, Verfremdungseffekt ). Brechtian
alienation requires the removal of the fourth wall. This is a term that describes the
suspension of disbelief by the audience that takes place during a performance. It is
often thought that the audience looks in on the play s action through an invisible wall,
just as the audience during a performance is focused upon a procenium stage. This is
a literal and figurative term. The audience pretends that the characters in the story are
actually alive, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The performers know that what they have to say is rehearsed and is for the benefit
of the audience. The political message is of great importance. However, the entire
event has an air of surrealism.
A second example of community performance that utilizes the effect of Brechtian
Alienation is the work of the late monologist, Spaulding Gray. Spaulding Gray
(1941 2004) was the author and performer of monologues such as Swimming to
Cambodia (1987) and Monster in a Box. (1992) During his performances,
Spaulding sat serenely behind a desk, sipping water as he related stories of his life,
satirized for the benefit of an audience. No subject was taboo. He spoke candidly
about puberty, sex and suicide. His monologues contained many messages, some
quite political. Although he portrayed himself as a character, disassociating himself
from many of the painful memories he shared (such as dealing with the suicide of
his mother and his subsequent depression), the audience was always keenly aware
that his work was a reflection of his experience, not a factual reporting of the
experience itself. His words made audiences introspective, leading them to mull over
issues of social justice. His final performance was his own suicide in 2004, pointedly
highlighting the issues facing the mentally ill.
The next example is not motivated by any political agenda. Renaissance

Thanksgiving And Independence Day
Holidays are a time for families to come together and enjoy their time with one
another. Every person has their own personal favorite holiday however, it may
differ from others for many different reasons. Some holidays are region specific
that may only be recognized in a few countries or a single country. For example,
Thanksgiving and Independence Day are two holidays that only Americans
celebrate. As many years have passed since these holidays were first celebrated,
some may not understand the reason why these holidays are celebrated. Having the
knowledge of why the holiday is celebrated, can determine which holiday is one s
favorite. Thanksgiving and Independence Day are a celebration of important events
in America s history that have changed the nation into what it is today. Thanksgiving
and Independence Day are American holidays that are celebrated around the same
time every year. Independence Day is also known as Fourth of July and July 4th.
Many other countries may have their own Thanksgiving or Independence Day, but
they may not be celebrated the same way as the Americans. Americans celebrate
Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November, while they celebrate
Independence Day on July 4th. Thanksgiving and Independence Day are celebrated
on these days because that is when important events in America s history happened.
Independence Day and Thanksgiving recognize the accomplishments of those who
have come before and have made an impact on the country to make it
The Emperor s New Clothes
Hans Christian Anderson displays insight into the vanity of man in the popular
children s story, The Emperor s New Clothes . Although born into the world as
unique individuals, humans grow up seeking approval, acceptance, and validation in
the societal norms in which they live. Rather than embracing their individuality,
most live out their lives trying to fit into a mold that their culture deems as
successful. Most cultures view accomplishments, wealth, and positions of influence
as measures of success; thus, an individual s value is calculated by what he has
externally and not by who he is internally. Therefore, many people fail to develop
their gifts, talents, and personalities to live a fulfilling life for themselves, and they
succumb to societal pressure to strive for the materialistic, external trappings of
success. This presents a struggle between self and society. In The Emperor s New
Clothes , Anderson uses clothingto symbolize this struggle wearing society s
accepted standards as clothes to mask our naked vulnerability to rejection.
Anderson s story centers on an emperor whose validation comes from his
wardrobe. This fondness for beautiful clothes leaves him vulnerable to a couple of
swindlers who come to his town; these con artists claimed to be weavers of an
extraordinary cloth that is invisible to anyone who was unfit for his office or
unforgiveable stupid (The Emperor s New Clothes, para 2). The unique properties of
the cloth intrigue the
The Impact Of The Westward Expansion Of America
The United States of America officially gained its independence on July 4th, 1776.
However, at the time, America only consisted of 13 colonies. The United States was
a very small nation and there was desire amongst the people for that to change. The
desire for expansion had been in existence since the time period of the Jamestown
settlers and the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The United Stateswould then begin its
westward expansion from 1783 to 1810 with main expansions such as Old Northwest
and Southwest, the Louisiana Purchase, and the Florida territory. These key additions
to the nation would light a spark in the minds of the American public and would lead
to the idea of Manifest Destiny . This term is used to describe the territorial
expansion of America between the time period in between the War of 1812 and the
Civil War. Manifest Destiny is basically the belief that the territorial expansion across
the continent was deserved and destined to occur. With this belief in the minds of
Americans, the country would continue its growth across the continent through
treaties, war, and annexation of land. The Westward Expansion of the United States
up until 1860 had a positive effect on the growth of the nation to an extent. The
territorial expansion had an effect on the nation politically, economically, and
socially. The Westward Expansion of the United States up until 1860 had an effect on
the growth of the nation politically. In 1823, President James Monroe delivered what
Hypovolemia Case Studies
Question 1:
Hypovolemia can be due to many predisposing factors such as fracture and surgery.
The patient experienced a type of open fracture which is categorize by a wound in
combination with the fracture (Whiteing, N., 2008, p. 50). Open Reduction Internal
Fixation (ORIF) is the most common surgical technique for patients with open
fracture which also includes tibia and fibula (William, L Hopper, P., 2011, p. 1071).
Since it was a major surgery massive blood loss or hypovolemia can be experience by
a patient who will undergo this procedure. Craft, J., Gordon C., Tiziani, A. (2011, p.
895) states that hypovolemia is a decrease in extracellular fluid volume and decrease
in blood volume. In addition, Buttaro, T., (2013, p. 982) implies that there is

55). According to Wen Chih et al. (2010, p.11), ageing patients are susceptible to
blood loss since they have limited physiological replacement. Thus, considering
the age and the surgical procedure the patient is at high risk of hypovolemia. If the
loss of blood progresses and the body is unable to compensate, the patient will be
at risk for hypovolemic shock (D Angelo, M., Dutton, R., 2009, p. 279).
Hypovolemic shock means deficit in flowing blood causing to ineffectively filing
the intravascular space. Mamaril, M., Child, S., Sortman, S., 2007, p. 191.
Kolecki, P., Menckhoff, C. (2014) emphasizes that there are four (4) classification
of hypovolemic shock. Class 1 is when there is 0 15% of blood loss with only
slight change in heart rate. If the patient heart rate becomes more than 100 beats per
minute and they experience tachypnoea and has cool clammy skin, the patient is in
the class 2 of hypovolemic shock. Class 3 and 4 is when the patient will manifest
the severe sympathetic response of the body due to the inability of compensate with
the blood loss. Thus, considering the age and the surgical procedure the patient is at
high risk of hypovolemia or even the more severe
Rational Choice Theory Research Paper
The Rational Choice Theory applies in many everyday instances and actions. So, one
of the cases in which the Rational Choice Theory can be used is when a person tries
to quit smoking. The person must set a goal to cut down the amount of cigarettes
they smoke until they are down to not smoking, use an alternative source to fight the
nicotine cravings, handle the withdrawal symptoms, stick to their goal, and then
evaluate their goal is and the side effects after they have quit smoking.
In most cases of people trying to quit smoking, they will have to gradually reduce
the number of cigarettes they smoke; however, a few people can just go cold turkey.
The first step to quitting smoking is making it a goal to keep. Setting a goal to quit

There are many alternatives to choose from such as chewing gum, using nicotine
patches (if necessary), jogging or running, and just simple doing something else to
keep your mind busy. The main purpose of all of these methods is to just keep the
mind occupied so that it will not wander back to thinking about smoking a cigarette.
So, one of the best alternative methods to smoking is chewing gum. Chewing on
gum has been proven to work on countless occasions, because it keeps your mouth
moving. Gum is a simple, everyday item that has become a valuable tool to helping
people quit smoking. Gum is the most recommended alternative method to people
who plan to quick smoking, and gum is also generally one of the most heard of and
used methods as well.
In order to cut down on the amount of cigarettes a person smokes, they must do so
in increments. For example, a man smokes two packs of cigarettes a week but he
suddenly decides to quit smoking, so the man settles to smoking a pack and a half
a week for two or three weeks instead. After that two or three weeks has past, he
then cuts down to smoking only a pack a week for another two to three weeks. He
will continue to do this until he has gotten to where he will no longer feels the urge
to smoke a

who is the most at risk and what are some solution to helping people those who are

Manley Pointer
Things are Not Always as They Seem with Good Country People
Why that looks like the nice dull young man that tried to sell me a Bible yesterday,
Mrs. Hopewell said, squinting. He must of been trying to sell them to the
Negros back in there. He was so simple, she said, but I guess the world would be
better off if we were all that simple (145). At the end of the story, Mrs. Hopewell
considers
Manley Pointer simple. Little did she know that this simple man had just caused
Hulga severe mental and physical anguish. Her ignorance towards the underlying
evil in the world turns out to be her greatest fault. Situations are not always as they
seem, and unless one first looks within, his or her weaknesses may be exploited ...

The Bible carried by Manley turns out to be nothing more than a hiding place for a
pocket flask of whiskey, a pack of cards, and a small blue box with printing on it
(135). Joy Hulga appears to be accepting of her situation, but she is still very
ashamed of her appearance. In the story, both Hulga and Manley wear masks over
their true natures. Their final confrontation, however, reveals Manley to be a
cunning atheist while Hulga is exposed as a girl whose naivete sharply contradicts
the nihilistic cliches she professes. After the confrontation in the hay loft with Hulga,
Manley is revealed as an abuser and a thief, but only to Hulga. There are two types of
irony throughout this story, situational irony and verbal irony. Situational irony is
found when Hulga is expecting to seduce an innocent, however, it turns out to be
quite different. Joy Hulga is easily the most taken advantage of character in the
entire story. As her ugly sounding name implies, she appears ugly and evil, but
deep down she has a desire for love and happiness. She says, I am one of those
people who see through to nothing (115). Little does she know, that she recognizes
one of her greatest weaknesses in this statement. Hulga has said one thing but her
hidden desires cause her several problems later on. For example, the whole scene
that takes place in the hay loft, which is know as verbal irony. Manley was
St Joan Of Arc Research Paper
When you think of a soldier, do you think of a stereotypical knight in shining
armor, on top of a strong, white stallion? Or do you think of a small, bare headed
girl leading a great army into victory? Many people think that the first one is more
realistic, but the 2nd is also very true. St. Joan of Arc fits the description perfectly.
She became a knightwhen no girl could, led armies to victory, and did it all in the
name of God, which makes her an excellent role model for many people. During the
time of kings and queens, knighthood was a very hard title to attain, but that
didn t stop Joan of Arc. Most girls were expected to stay at home and care for kids
and do the
chores. They were expected to marry with the most wealthy man they could find. But

She even dressed up as a man so she could help the French army against the
Burgundians.
As she gained other people s trust, she attained knighthood. She led armies into
religious battles,
and defeated most of the forces that they went up against. During this time, most girls
would also
be passive, only thinking about marriage. St. Joan strayed from this idea, and worked
hard to
become a role usually assigned to boys only. St. Joan was determined, hard working,
and
motivated, qualities needed to be a hero.
St. Joan of Arc didn t just become a knight, and just sit there as a follower. She
became
a leader, that led her army to victory. Most girls followed the men, like sheep
following a
shepherd. St. Joan showed that they weren t like that at all. She led armies through
the Hundred
Year s War and the Siege of Orleans triumphantly. And most girls would also never be
trusted with weapons. Joan was a great counterexample of that. She gained trust from
many
leaders. Once she helped a lost prince find his way to the crown, and converted many
towns in
the process. St. Joan of Arc was intelligent, tactful, and leader like, traits that are in a

A literature review (Abdullah 2001, Sheppard 2001, Yong 2003) reveals that
numerous case studies involve general comparisons that lack a depth of study in
Malaysia. Further, this study, which uses a sample of Malaysian based Japanese and
Western MNCs , in addition to Malaysian local firms, is deemed important due to the
magnitude of these MNCs impacts on the Malaysian economy. According to Ariff
(2004) of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research, the United States and
Japan are the second and third largest investors in Malaysia. Their total exports and
imports were above USD38 billion and USD18 billion respectively (Ministry of
International Trade 2005). Also, these MNCs create huge employment and skill
enhancement opportunities in Malaysia. In addition, data collection and preliminary
interviews with the senior management of various industries reveal that the personal
care industry is ideal for this study, given its competitive nature in which the labour
turnover rate is high and the employees are highly mobilised. This industry is also
considered as ideal in terms of the growing Asian market, the ability of such
companies to offer higher than average pay packages (MEF, 2004), and high labour
turnover (14.5 per cent) as a consequence of the heavy poaching of talented cadres by
both business rivals and unrelated industries (MEF, 2004). This situation calls for
investigation into the personal care industry. Thus, this

Persuasive Essay On Internet Safety
The three pieces are focused on internet safety and how/ should we make the internet
a safer place for our younger generation. They are all begging the question what is the
balance between unnecessary restriction and the safety of the most venerable
members of our society through ideas of internet addiction suicide and, feelings of
fear and despair but to resolve it with solutions The writer of this article (Stephen

Balkam used smythe to convey idea that the internetis a lawless jungle too dangerous

Balkam furthers this argument with ideas from the non profit FOSI (Family Online

saying that this is selfless institute that we should listen to and makes the audience
feel more obliged to take their opinion into hand. The FOFI says that they welcome

They then take the information gleaned from the observations and assessments and
form their treatment plans. The ongoing collection of data is what drives behavior
analysts decisions when it comes to making changes to the plan they have created.
This guideline also includes the expectation that, when presenting information for
publication or at a conference, behavior analysts present information with the highest
degree of integrity (Bailey Burch, 2011). This integrity is established by the use of
the scientific knowledge that the behavior analyst has gained in their training.
Scientific evidence serves another purpose in behavior analysis. It guides the
decision in the types of treatment procedures that are selected for implementation.
According to Van Houten, et al. (1988), a behavior analyst has an obligation to only
use methods that have been scientifically proven to be effective. This fact is key
because one of the rights a client has is the right to the most effective treatments
available. When the behavior analyst is able to combine the use of the scientific data
and the use of scientifically proven effective treatments, they are able to accomplish
the goal that they should start with for each client. A behavior analyst has been most
effective in helping their clients when they are able to withdrawal themselves from
the clients life altogether (Skinner, 1978). Another ethical guideline for behavior
analysts is that they will pursue

My Favorite Experience
THEY HAVE CARAMEL POPCORN, I yelled to my friends. They didn t seem to
care, but on an elementary field trip there is always so much going on that even
caramel popcorn can seem boring. We were in the old student building of the
University of Washington and the lunches were blowing my mind. Compared to the
reheated by microwave slop they plopped on my tray everyday back at school, this
cafeteria was a feast for the gods. I knew I had to go here someday, if only to be
able to get caramel popcorn every day for lunch. Despite not recognizing the brilliant
architecture, wonderful academics, and prestigious reputation, I think I had my
priorities right as a kid. The popcorn, to be fair, was delicious.
However, about seven years later, I stared at the beautiful library thinking on how
I would never be able to go. My dreams were crushed, and the school I looked so
forward to going to was not feasible. I felt like a failure. I sat near a turned off
Drumheller Fountain late at night reflecting on how I failed to reach my goal. My
ADHD prevented me from not only doing well in school but it started affecting
even the things I enjoyed to do. I couldn t even finish a book without being
distracted. Add on top of that was my brother needed my help because of his
epilepsy. Many times before a final test in class, I d spend the night in a hospital with
him. To top everything off, I had to question who I was as I realized I was gay. I felt
like I had to hide myself from the world for fear of
Oral Mucosa At The Macroscopic Level
The oral mucosa is a specialized tissue lining the oral cavity and consists of the
following components: (1) the masticatory mucosa, which lines the gingiva and the
hard palate; (2) the specialized mucosa covering the dorsum of the tongue; and (3)
the lining mucosa which covers the reminder of the oral cavity [201, 202]. The
gingivais considered an adaptation of the oral masticatory mucosa covering the
alveolar bone and surrounding the cervical portions of teeth. The gingiva protects
the roots of teeth, and underlying alveolar bone from mechanical trauma and serves
as the first line of defence against bacteria by preventing it from reaching the deeper
structures [201, 203]. The gingiva can be demarcated into several zones at the
macroscopic (as perceived by the unaided eye) and the microscopic levels according
to anatomy or/ and function.
2.3.1.2.1Oral mucosa at the macroscopic level
The normal healthy appearance of the gingiva is coral pink with a scalloped coronal
border known as the free gingival margin. The free gingival margin is approximately
located 1.5 to 2 mm coronal to the cementoenamel junction (CEJ) in healthy fully
erupted teeth [204]. On the other end, the gingiva becomes continuous with the loose,
red lining mucosa known as the alveolar mucosa . The alveolar mucosa differs in
colour since it has a thin non keratinized epithelium and loose connective tissues that
contain numerous blood vessels but no rete pegs. Typically, the gingiva can be easily
How Is Harry Potter Related To Religion
The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Thoughts are
not etched on the inside of skulls, to be perused by an invader. The mind is a
complex and many layered thing. (Severus Snape, Book five.) The book series
entitled Harry Potter has Biblical themes hidden beneath all of the spells, charms, and
enchantments. Harry Potter, in my own opinion, is very Christ like and I feel like the
book series could be looked at like a modernized version of the bible. He resembles
Jesus Christ in multiple ways. J.K Rowling has subtly featured religious symbolism
in her books such as, Harry dying for the wizarding world much like Jesus died
willingly for our sins. After they died, they were both resurrected. Fawkes, the...

The presence of a phoenix reinforces the underlying theme of conquering death by
embracing life, just like Harry and Jesus did.
Harry and Jesus know a lot about Sacrifice and selflessness. All of the characters in
the Harry Potter series experiences sacrificial love. Hermione Granger, one of
Harry s two sidekicks throughout his school years, has to obliviate her parents
minds because she doesn t want them getting hurt. Her mother and father are both
muggles, therefore Voldemort would find them and murder them. Ronald Weasley,
Harry s other sidekick, sacrifices himself in a game of Wizard s Chess for Hermione
and Harry in their first year at Hogwarts. Dobby the house elf, who has saved Harry s
life on many occasion, sacrificed his life to save Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna
Lovegood and Mr. Olivander out of pure love and friendship. Harry s mother and
father, Lily and James Potter, sacrificed their selves for their only son just like Jesus
Christ sacrificed his body for us and he sacrificed his life on earth for us. Both Harry
and Jesus did such a selfless thing for the people they loved and cared for.
Every character from the bible resembles a person from the bible. Harry resembles
Jesus because he s the chosen one who died willingly for the people of the wizarding
world. The D.A. (Dumbledore s Army) and the Order are his disciples. Voldemort
resembles the Satan. Lucifer turned against his creator just like Voldemort turned

Erikson’s Eight Stages of Development and
Occupational...
Erik Erikson was one the founding figures in naming the human s developmental
stages. He stemmed his research off of his own life experiences. Today we use his
framework for helping diagnose those with injuries with the best treatment possible.
He was the person who coined the term identity crisis that we so often hear of
today. In this paper I will first describe Erikson s life and all his research, and then I
will relate his work to occupational therapy.
Biography
Erik Erikson was born on June 15, 1902 in Frankfurt, Germany. According to his
obituary that appeared in The New York Times, his parents were separated before he
was born due to the fact that he was the result of an affair. He never met his birth
father. His mother was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stage occurs within the first year of life and when the baby begins to develop
feelings for its primary caregiver. If the baby receives consistent care and feels that
their caregiver is reliable, then they will be able to feel secure. Succession of this
stage helps the baby develop a sense of hope. By developing hope, the baby can
stay positive whenever a crisis happens in their life. If the baby fails to develop
this sense of hope, then the baby will learn to sense fear throughout their life. This
type of fear will lead the baby to live a life full of insecurities and anxiety (McLeod,
2008). The second stage is Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt. This is when the child
is developing its physical characteristics and begins moving around more. This stage
occurs between the ages of 18 months and three years old. During this stage, the
child will start to assert their independence by picking out what clothes they are going
to wear or what they are going to eat, etc. As they begin to do things on their own they
discover that they have skills, such as tying their shoes or putting their toys together,
etc. According to Erikson, it is critical that the parents at this time allow their child to
explore the world and figure out their limits with encouragement and support them
when they inevitably fail. During this crucial time, the parent must not intervene too
much in their child s life and allow the child to make their own decisions
Analysis Of The Movie Miss Julie
Creating Reality in Theater Theater was about attracting the middle class crowd to
see their play but also to please the audience. For many years in theater, much of it
presented false or unrealistic concepts. Many authors of playwrights were
accustomed to the idea of displaying productions that were not likely happen in real
life. Around the late 19th century, there was a push for creating more of an authentic
and truthful piece of work. Realism was a movement that highlighted the
representation of familiar things in a way that is accurate or true to life (Google).
Reality is the state of things as they actually exist and is the perception of things as
they actual exists (Google). In Miss Julie written by August Strindberg, this play
displayed his attempt at representing realism. Creating reality in theater requires
implanting realistic points such as characters, actions, and dialogue that is accurate
to real life. Foremost, characters are a main part of a play. Establishing characters
with relatable backgrounds to people and depth makes the work more believable to
the viewer or reader. Miss Julie, who is twenty five years of age and the main
character, she reveals a lot of information about her past. I learnt from her to mistrust
and hate men, for, so far as I could hear, she always hated men and I swore to her
that I would never be a man s slave ( Strindberg 30). The quote gives the reader
background information about her mother s past. Her mother spent her

The Red Umbrella Analysis
The Red Umbrella by Christina Diaz and the Migration photo share a common
theme. The theme is taking risks for the ones you love. This is the theme that is
portrayed from both the photo and the text. Both text and photo are unique, similar
and different. The Red Umbrella and the Migration photo both share a tone of hurt
and sadness. In the picture you could see they all have serious faces and seem to
keep a lookout ahead. There is a lot you can infer from this picture. From the men s
expressions they look hurt inside and worried. In The RedUmbrella The father must
confront his kids he has to ship them away to protect them. While the father tells his
kids the mother can only look down while her kids are crying. She is really sad
How Your Local Restaurant Doesn t Charge
Your local restaurant doesn t charge you a fixed price and tell you to gorge yourself
on whatever comes out of the kitchen. Most restaurants operate on an Г la carte
basis, allowing diners to choose foods they like from the menu and eat only what
they want (and can afford). If you don t like broccoli or raspberries, you don t pay
for them; if you re a vegetarian you don t subsidize the meal of the carnivore at the
next table.
Cable companies don t operate like that. Comcast and AT T package all that food and
shove it down their customers throats like the Widette family descending on a

A Brief History of Cryptography
Computer science is a vast field that includes nearly everything relating to computers.
Everyday there is information transmitted all over the Internet. Pictures are uploaded,
transactions are made on thousands of online retail websites, and banking
transactions take place everyday on the Internet. All of these transactions have
created a need for secure communications. People wish to keep things like banking,
medical, and political information from the eyes of unwelcome parties. This has
created a need for cryptography. Cryptography is the science or study of the
techniques of secret writing, especially code and cipher systems, and is used by
everyone from the average citizen to the government and military.
Cryptography was first used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Technology will continue advancing and that necessary to crack encryptions will
become readily available to those looking for it (12). Therefore, it is necessary to
develop new methods to ensure security in the future. This had led to quantum
cryptography, which is a potentially uncrackable form of communication (12).
According to physicist Duncan Earl, quantum cryptography is a future proof
technology (13). Quantum cryptology requires that the two parties create and
share a secret key, unlike in public key encryption (13). Instead of using factoring
to secure the key shared between two parties, photons of light are used (13). If a
third party tries to intercept the photons, discrepancies will show and the two
parties will know the connection is no longer secure (13). The law of physics states
that in order to make a measurement on light, a disturbance must be made (13). This
means that it would be impossible to intercept the secret key without alerting the
sender and receiver. Public key encryption relies on the trust that the computationally
difficult problem used to share the key is too strong for any computer out there to
break (13). However, photons are not made for long distance use (13). In order for
this quantum cryptography theory to work for everyone, the range would need to be
much larger.
Aside from the different types of crytopgraphy, there are also different functions
(Goldwasser 16). Two important types of
Rape and Sexual Assault
Rape and Sexual Assault Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual
intercourse, which is initiated by one or more persons against another person
without that person s consent. The act maybe carried out by force, under threat, or
with a person who is incapable with valid consent. The definition of rape varies
both in different parts of the world and at different times in history. According to the
American Medical Association, sexual violence, and rape in particular, is
considered the most under reported violent crime. When part of a widespread and
systematic practice, rape and sexual slavery are recognized as crimes against
humanity and war crimes. The rate of reporting, prosecution and convictions for rape

Some societies consider incest to include only those who live in the same
household, or who belong to the same clan or lineage; other societies consider it to
include blood relatives ; other societies further include those related by adoption or
marriage. Incest between adults and those under the age of majority or age of
consent is considered a form of child sexual abuse that has been shown to be one of
the most extreme forms of childhood abuse, often resulting in serious and long term
psychological trauma, especially in the case of parental incest. Prevalence is difficult
to generalize, but research has estimated 10 15% of the general population as having
at least one such sexual contact, with less than 2% involving intercourse or attempted
intercourse. Among women, research has yielded estimates as high as twenty
percent. Father daughter incest was for many years the most commonly reported and
studied form of incest. More recently, studies have suggested that sibling incest,
particularly older brothers abusing younger siblings, is the most common form of
incest, with some studies finding sibling incest occurring orders of magnitude[not in
citation given more frequently than other forms of incest. Some studies suggest that
adolescent perpetrators of sibling abuse choose younger victims, abuse victims over a
lengthier period, use violence more frequently and

This report form 1929, focused on the issue of overcrowding in the federal prison
system and how federal judges in Minnesota indicated a need of more federal
prison farms in the northern part of the state. Barstow reasoned that a prison farm
could bring income and jobs to the town to make up for the economic fall of the
quarry and railroad. The town had a piece of land that had not been cleared across
the Kettle Rover to the east of the Sandstone that Barstow thought would be perfect.
Barstow recruited the help of Senator Adolph Larson, Dr. Homer p. Dredge, and

Mark Lilla s Argument In The End Of Identity Liberalism
Mark Lilla s argument in The End of Identity Liberalism definitely recognizes the
underlying problem in the success story (Lilla 1) of the American diversity: a lack
of unifying force (Lilla 1). However, it seems to be too arbitrary to deduce from the
defects of identity liberalism that the possible solution is only an either or choice: the
necessity of a unifying force should predicate the end of identity liberalism. The end
of identity liberalism will come at some time, but today must not be the time. The end
of identity liberalism should be based upon universally equal acceptance and
representation of different individuals, a point that is ignored by Lilla in his argument.
Before an reply to Lilla s argument, it is important to first explain the notion of
identity liberalism. Lilla believes that identity liberalism conveys a kind of moral
panic about racial, gender ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the minority individuals now do not even have the ability to realize those
harmful effects; in another word, identity liberalism has not been pushed to the phase
in which the aforementioned threats from difference and the related conflicts are
worth too many concerns. Lilla s argument is predicated by minority groups with
enough power and representation, the justification of which is missing in the article.
In the current phase, the under representation of minority groups is the much more
serious problem. This under representation, in the perspective of gender inequality,
is illustrated by Audre Lorde: what does it mean in personal and political terms
when even the two Black women who did present here were literally found at the
last hour? (Lorde 22). If the minority groups get no representation, how can the white
Americans feel challenge and threat; if differences do not show up, how can the
exclusiveness of individual groups be broken and passed across? Therefore, the unity
matters only if the differences

6) What was the effect on earnings per share of these sales to franchisees?
E) BV charges franchisees various fees and discloses them in a somewhat confusing
manner. The income statement shows, in revenues:
Royalties and other fees $8,142,000
However, Note 1 to the financial statements lists:
Royalties and other fees $7,590,000

The first two items total to the income statement amount, the third seems to be buried,

The Decision Of Our Final Residential Location Choice
Model
Before the decision of our final residential location choice model, we tested how
preferences of residential location are different among age and income groups.
Stratifying the sample of households by age and income is helpful to identify some
of the heterogeneity in housing preferences among different market segments as
well as investigate whether differences of location preferences exist between
different groups. All the household location choice models performed reasonably
well as shown in table 1, 2, and 3. The empirical results show that different age
groups have different residential location preferences. As shown in Table 1, the
access to employment is statistically significant and positive in Groups 1 and 3 but
insignificant in Group 2. This result implies that job opportunity is an important
factor in the household residential location choice decision, especially for the young
and old household groups. On the other hand, households in Group 2 do not tend to
prefer the location where job opportunity is relatively good, although it is not
statistically significant. Rather, land price is positive and significant in Group 2,
which means they are likely to choose the location where land price is high. This

Higher Education Programs In Prisons
In this article why education programs in prisons should exist is explained. The
article starts off by stating that studies conducted over the last couple of decades has
shown that prisons that have higher education programs created lower recidivism
rates, reduction in crimes, saving to taxpayers, and safety and well being to the
communities. Also, in these studies it was found that in 2011, 7 and 10 formerly
incarcerated people will commit another crimeand half of those will wind up back in
prison. 95 in 100 incarcerated will be integrated back into society, therefore higher
educationprograms must be implemented in all prisons. It was found that education
programs in prisons are more effective at reducing recidivism rates compared to shock
Essay Depression in Teens
Today s teenagers are faced with the ever changing world around them and the
biological changes of their bodies. Many teens are also faced with depression.
Approximately half of teenagers with untreated depression may attempt suicide,
which remains the third leading cause of death in this age group. (Bostic). This
depression affects their school, family lives, and robs them of their self image.
Depression affects many teens and often goes by unnoticed and untreated. What is
depression? Depression is the most common of all psychological disorders, affecting
100 million people worldwide. The depression ranges from mild feelings of
uneasiness, sadness, and apathy to intense suicidal despair. (Kasschau) If left
untreated, it could lead the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What causes depression? The main cause of depression is stress. Some teens stress
over trying to achieve academic success, while others might stress about their
family and home life. Bullying can also be a major cause of depression. Being
bullied or teased will cause their self esteem to lower and inflict a feeling of being
inferior to others. Other causes or depression could be problems in their personal
life such as break ups or fights with friends. The maximum amount of mental,
physical, and emotional distress one can experiences to become depressed can
vary from person to person. How does it affect their school performance? Two of
the more common symptoms of depression are lack of focus, and an inability to
concentrate for extended periods of time (Martin). This can cause a drop in ones
grades and decrease participation in group projects or presentations. For some,
their depression could be bad enough to where it is hard for them to get out of bed
to go to school, causing more absences. Some may get themselves in to trouble
more often. Depression can also make them isolate themselves from other students
and teachers. As a teen said in an interview, I used to be an excellent student,
always got 100 s. I got depression, and they all went down. I was so distracted. I was
so confused. I wanted to rebel. I felt horrible.
H. Lunulata Essay
Hapalochlaena lunulata is about 20 cm at maximum spread, but under normal
circumstances, it appears much smaller than this. H. lunulata is dark brown to dark
yellow in color, but with brilliant blue rings thought to be warning coloration that
glow when it is angry. The reason the rings are blue is thought to be that the visual
range of the octopusis most sensitive in the blue part of the spectrum. At the small
beak at the junction of its eight arms rather than manufacturing ink, H. lunulata
makes poison like the tetrodotoxin found in poisonous puffer fishes. Bacteria in their
salivary glands produce it. The venom, contained in its saliva and designed to subdue
or kill its prey is particularly lethal to human beings. (Campbell 2000,... Show more

Therefore, this study will focus on investigating this trait. The intensity of the blue
rings will differ with the proximity and size of the threat to scare the threat away to
avoid predation.
The independent variable that will be measured is the rings of the Hapalochlaena
lunulata. This will be controlled and manipulated using a stick with different sizes
of circles at 3 distances from the octopus s location in the tank. The three distances
will be at 60cm, 30cm and 15cm and the diameter of the circles at the end of the
stick will be 4cm, 10cm and 17cm. This will be tested on 3 female and 3 male
octopuses of relatively the same age. A few controls that will need to be insured is
the temperature of the tank, the size of the tank, the objects in the tank and their
location and, the location of the octopus in the tank. The dependent variable
measured is the size and intensity of the blue rings. This will be measured through
photos that will be analyzed on a software on a computer.
The gender of the octopus is not expected to influence the results as they are
extremely similar in size, appearance and behavior. The null hypothesis is that the
intensity of the blue rings will not differ or is not affected by the proximity and size
of the threat to scare the threat away to avoid predation. The possible results of the
experiment that would not reject the null hypothesis is that there is no correlation
between the size of the object or the proximity of the object and
International Human Resources Expatriate Assignment
Critically discuss the following statement. An expatriate assignment is an important
training and development tool, with international assignments being recognized as an
important mechanism for developing international expertise. | || 10/11/2003|

The process expatriate assignment could be categorized as three stages. First,
expatriate selection and given necessary information and pre departure training for the

The theory developed by Hofstede (1980) suggested that the national cultural
differences have greater influence on shaping the management and business
operations. The international experience from the repatriates has considerable
positive effect on pre departure training program. Enhanced cultural awareness is
expected, since the repatriates are more familiar with the host country culture. The
expatriate experience from the repatriates could provide more realistic information on
business context in the host country which develop positive attitude to the
assignment. They could act as guidance to allocate the resources to ensure that the
expatriates familiarized the new culture and produce appropriate behaviours
necessary within that culture. In other word, the chance of expatriate failure is likely
to be diminished. On the other hand, repatriate experience could also play a role to
aid with expatriate selection. Appropriate candidate for expatriate required to have
the ability to learn new business concepts, to supervise subordinates from different
culture, to deal with family relocation issues and to adjust personally to a new culture

Horse s Jumping
Lewczuk, Sloniewski, and Reklewski, (2006). Had completed and published a major
research work entitled as Repeatability of the horse s jumping parameters with and
without the rider. The aim of this study was to investigate the repeatabilities of
jumping parameters that seem to be most often discussed by breeders. Video image
analysis was used to study measurements which described the silhouette of horses

distances. The total numbers of 4323 jumps of 143 young stallions were filmed and

The repeatability of the jumps parameters were calculated as ratio of animal effect
variance to the sum of all random variances received from the model included
statistically significant fixed effects and regressions on the frame of horses. All
analyses were done using SAS procedure MIXED. The jumps parameters were
analyzed as different traits for free jumping and jumping under the rider. The style of
jump was characterized by measurements of taking off and landing distances,
measurements of lifting horses body over the obstacle and measurements of legs
lifting above the obstacle. The repeatability of distances of the jump s length were

The Eternal City And Her Empire
Michael Miller
Extended Essay
(Lack of title page)
Word count: 2594
Introduction
The Eternal City and her empire, spanning at its peak from chilly Britain to
sweltering Egypt, did not spring from glory (Nelson). Her legions were not born,
trained, and blooded as professionals, or as the legends that they came to be; nor
were her architects and engineers blessed by providence with the talent that has kept
Rome standing for more than two thousand years. It indeed rings true when said or
heard that Rome was not carved out from her seven hills; not built; not fought for
nor killed for in a day. Her legacy was painstakingly written with the lives of
millions, and the many victories of her army were learned and prepared for through
just as many losses.
It was not intrinsic ability that conquered all of the Mediterranean coast and lands
beyond, but cunning, the ability to adapt when beaten, to recognize superior tactics
and to outwit them, to learn from other cultures and militaries, and most importantly,
to get back up off the ground when conquered and hit back harder than ever before.
The empire created by the sword, lived by the sword, and died by the sword,
wielded by one of the most dynamic and influential militaries in the history of the
world.
The research question of this extended essay is, To what extent did the Roman
military adapt and change as a product of warfare and contact with other cultures,
from the tribal days of Rome to the end of the Republic? Though her
My First Person Ever Riding A Hover Board
Alexander Roman
Professor Lunderberg
Senior Seminar Essay
10/14/2015
My Simple Dreams
My name is Alexander Roman. My future is now composed of dreams that I have
created throughout the years since I was young. At eight years old, I already had
planned out my future: at twenty two, I would have already been working as a
paleontologist, excavating skeletons of dinosaurs, in Africa, and then I would
have become the first person ever riding a hover board down the hill in front of my
house in Puerto Rico. I would also have become the best person I could be to make
my parents and friends proud of me. Growing up has taught me that the only
paleontologist that I looked up to was Dr. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park and that
owing a hover board would mean that I would have to be filthy rich. However,
growing up has also taught me that I could still become the outstanding person that I
aspire to be. My future dreams have drastically changed as I have grown older.
Now, I have become aware that sometimes it does not matter what you plan for
because life will always have a different plan for you. Because, like a drop of salt
water in the ocean, I walk next to life itself patiently waiting for what happens next.
Even though my perspective of my future dreams has changed, I do have dreams
that I strive for, each and every day. I strive for relationships that are full or love,
compassion, and honesty. I strive for being proud of who I am. I strive to celebrate
humanity s uniqueness, to fight
My Love For Cars
I was born and raised in Hialeah FL, Miami Dade. By the age of 4 I was playing
baseball for my local park, following my older brother s footsteps like any little
brother would do. By the age of 10 I was one of the best baseball players in my
division. It was my favorite sport and hobby right after going to work with my dad
in his big red Tow Truck. I attended Mater lakes Highschool and middle school, it was
about fifteen minutes from my house on a good day of traffic. It was a very tiny
school that eventually grew but continued to be small due to the number of
students. School was fun but working with my dad was better. It created a love for
cars that to this day is still alive. Working on cars, selling cars, and buying cars was
something I d see my old man do daily. He had so many cars that it got engraved in
me that one day I will own my own collection. By fourteen my old man was already
teaching me how to drive manual cars. By sixteen he bought me my first car, a 1998
Jeep wranglerSahara edition. The green monster was lifted on huge mud tires and
the coolest part, it was manual transmission. I loved taking it to school every day, it
was a blessing I will always be thankful for. My love for cars grew so dramatically
that by senior year in high schoolI had already six different cars. I loved it, not just
owning the vehicle but also doing my research about it. Reading, and learning about
cars is something that I found captured my attention and made it easy for me to

Importance Of Writing In Writing
Dear Mrs. Thompson, before this class I was not very interested in writing. I used
to slack as a writer in elementary school. My aunt used to make me read many
books on the weekends and in summer. Then she would have me write lengthy
book reports on them. I hated hyer for them at the time but they really helped me
out in the long run. Unfortunately, these habits did not follow me into middle
school. Throughout middle school. It just did not seem like a skill I needed if I
was going into the medical field. Little did I know... essays are part of so many
assignments in high school. I wrote so many essays freshman year, even in my
geophys class! Like what?! Then it was included so much during sophomore year.
My first hour class was American Lit, this was such a drag, writingin the morning
was torture, But, I made the best of it since I did not have many other classes that
required me to write lengthy papers. I improved m writing skills all around in the
class, more specifically, my spelling skills. As I went through junior year I began
encountering much writing in my math class. My current class, Statistical
Reasoning in Sports, has me writing so many paragraphs. I never would have
thought this is how it would be. However, all these classes and assignments did
improve my writing. The length of my papers increased drastically as well as my
description in them. There are still many more skills I need to work on. Like my
attention to detail while writing, I make many obvious
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Extraction
Chapter Five
Discussion
Extraction is a process by which substances and active constituents are separated
from the original matrix, extraction process depends on many physical and chemical
characteristics. Extraction is divided into two types liquid phase extraction and solid
phase extraction depending on the physical phase of extraction agent(Rezaee et al.,
2006). In our study, we have adopted liquid phase extraction for several reasons.
Firstly, simple, inexpensive, relatively precise and wide range methods for separation,
identification, and quantification of drugs, poisons, and herbal medicine. Secondly,
An equilibrium distribution is established by the ratio between two phases will be

The selection of solvents was based on the gradual increase in the polarity, ethyl
acetate, acetone, ethanol, methanol, and water. The highest efficient solvent for
extraction was water as the total yield weight of the extracts was 3.4 g in the fatted
and defatted J. regia using microwave and soxhlet methods. Whereas, the lowest
efficient solvent for extraction was ethyl acetate as the total yield weight of the
extracts was only 0.74 g. The increase in the polarity of the extraction solvent has
conferred a significant increase in yield amount as there were 4.6 fold increases in
the amount of yield between the lowest polarity solvent (ethyl acetate) and the
highest polarity solvent (water) regardless to the extraction

In the first round of the playoffs the Bulls lost to the Celtics. Even though Michael

of his injury. Now what do you think, you should think Michael Jordan is the G.O.A.T
because Kobe again lost in the off season to the Utah Jazz in four games with
Shaq, also Lebron didn t even make the playoffs. In 1887 the Bulls acquired Scottie

A Brief Note On The Syrian Refugee Crisis
Our lives are ruled by technology, most of the adults from generation Y and Z start
their day the same way: by checking social media. You may have noticed the term
Aleppo trending frequently as of lately. If you asked yourself what is Aleppo? then
you asked the same question that Gary Johnson repeated out loud. On September
8th, 2016 Gary Johnson was on MSNBC s Morning Joe , and was asked If you were
elected, what would you do about Aleppo? his response: Aleppo? And what is
Aleppo?
I wanna talk about the Syrian refugee crisis going on around the world but lets begin
with an old saying by Joseph Stalin. When one man dies that s a tragedy, when
thousands die that s a statistic. Large numbers can feel cold and distant and even
kind of comforting because they don t feel like people, and I think that s the reason
much of the world was able to ignore the years old Syrian refugee crisis until
recently. But then after thousands of refugees died this year trying to get to Europe,
one three year old boy washed ashore in Turkey. His name was Aylan Kurdi and he
drowned with his five year old brother and his mom trying to get to Greece. His
father Abdullah has now returned to Syria to bury his wife and children and when
offered the opportunity to resettle in another country Abdullah said, Now I don t
want anything. What was precious is gone. To talk about the refugee crisis we need
statistics but let us not forget what is precious. In the past 5.5 years there has been
Judicial Waiver And Prosecutorial Waiver
What is meant by the terms waiver, transfer, and certification, remand, and bind
over? a. Waiver The process by which a juvenile is moved from juvenile court
jurisdiction to adult criminal court jurisdiction for an offense committed while
still a juvenile. Also known as bind over, certification, remand, and transfer. b.
Transfer Transfer occurs when jurisdiction over a juvenile case is turned over to a
criminal court. The waiver or transfer of jurisdiction from juvenile court to
criminal court is predicated on the assumption that some juveniles are not
appropriate for processing in juvenile court and can be more effectively dealt with
by criminal courts. 2. What is judicial waiver, and how does it compare with
legislative waiver and prosecutorial waiver? A Judicial Waiver is a type of waiver
selected by a juvenile court at a hearing. It is the traditional type of waiver.
Legislative Waiver, and Prosecutorial Waiver, is not selected by the Juvenile Court
at the hearing. In most states (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New
Mexico, and New York are exceptions), juveniles can be transferred to an adult
criminal court by means of a separate waiver or transfer hearing in the juvenile
court to determine the appropriateness of the waiver. This method of waiver, which
can be called judicial waiver, is the traditional method by which juvenile cases have
been transferred to criminal courts. However, the exact process by which judicial
waiver occurs

Five Paragraph Essay Outline. 5 Paragraph Essay Outline Example Telegraph

  • 1. Five Paragraph Essay Outline Crafting an essay on the topic of a "Five Paragraph Essay Outline" may seem deceptively simple at first glance, given the apparent structure provided by the traditional five-paragraph format. However, the difficulty lies in striking a balance between adhering to this rigid structure and infusing the essay with depth and creativity. On one hand, the five-paragraph essay outline imposes a strict framework, demanding an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. This format can be restrictive, making it challenging to explore complex ideas or delve into nuanced arguments. The writer must carefully organize their thoughts within these limitations, ensuring each paragraph serves its designated purpose without becoming redundant. Moreover, maintaining a coherent flow throughout the essay is essential. Transitioning seamlessly between paragraphs while developing a compelling thesis statement and supporting arguments requires finesse. Juggling these structural elements while keeping the content engaging and insightful can be a daunting task. Furthermore, finding unique perspectives within the constraints of this format poses a challenge. Writers must resist the temptation to produce formulaic essays by injecting originality into their work. This requires a delicate balance between adhering to the prescribed outline and offering fresh insights that captivate the reader's attention. In conclusion, while the five-paragraph essay outline offers a clear structure, navigating its constraints can be a demanding task. Writers must skillfully manage the balance between structure and creativity, ensuring their essay not only follows a prescribed format but also stands out as a thoughtful and engaging piece of writing. The Next Generation of Storytelling Essay Storytelling has been mankind s most broad and universal occupation since its conception and has come a long way, developing new techniques and expanding in multiple domains. It can be considered an ancient form of art because it is crucial for human expression. Every culture has made a contribution to the narration of stories in various fields, such as, entertainment, literature, education, the media and so forth, with the purpose of conveying an important message, or purely to entertain. A famous game that followed a clear and simple pattern was Mario, where the player was given the task of searching for the princess in successively empty castles. Another example of an early game is Space Invaders, where the goal of the game was to destroy multiple rows of pixelated aliens. Because storytelling techniques were primitive in the early years, the player was not rewarded with cutscenes that drove the plot forward; instead he got points that were accumulated a total score. However, with the passing of time, technology and the gaming audience evolved and matured, creating new opportunities for the medium to expand its horizons and develop new storytelling techniques. Following the significant evolutions in technology, video games have adopted these advancements and continued to become more elaborate, especially with the use of motion capture, which allows technicians to capture and record the live performance of actors that are applied to the 3D models of the virtual character. This is only one element that makes the products of this medium so appealing and immersive for the player. These technological advancements have given to the developers of video games the opportunity to construct stories and characters which are more believable and complex, bringing about a narrative revolution. Risk Assessment Of A Health Or Social Care Setting P3 To carry out a risk assessment in a health or social care setting For P3, I am going to carry out a risk assessment that will describe what risks can be faced to the 12 residents who suffer from Down s syndrome as I will be cooking a Christmas dinner with them for their family. In this part, I am going to talk about the elder people in the residential care home that are cooking a Christmas dinner for their families. In this, I am going to identify the hazards that might occur and how to resolve them. Hazard: Anything that has the probability or may cause harm (what could go wrong). Likelihood: The chance of harm occurring as a result of exposure to a hazard. Consequence: The level of harm that may occur as a result of exposure to or contact with a hazard. Risk: Risk is the chance high or low that an event/hazard will occur or may prevent the Trust from achieving its objectives. A risk assessment is a plan put in place to reduce the risk of harm occurring, it aims to identify potential risks to the health, safety or security of a care practitioner. Risk assessments have to be held under the health and safety at work act and Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999. Five steps to risk assessment can be followed to ensure that your risk assessment is carried out correctly, these five steps are: 1. Identify the hazards 2. Decide who might be harmed and how 3. Brechtian Alienation in Theater Performance Essay Brechtian Alienation in Community Performance Eugen Berthold Friedrich Brecht, (b.1898 d.1956), known commonly as Bertolt Brecht, was a German poet and playwright. One of his major contributions to theatre history was the alienation effect (From the German, Verfremdungseffekt ). Brechtian alienation requires the removal of the fourth wall. This is a term that describes the suspension of disbelief by the audience that takes place during a performance. It is often thought that the audience looks in on the play s action through an invisible wall, just as the audience during a performance is focused upon a procenium stage. This is a literal and figurative term. The audience pretends that the characters in the story are actually alive, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The performers know that what they have to say is rehearsed and is for the benefit of the audience. The political message is of great importance. However, the entire event has an air of surrealism. A second example of community performance that utilizes the effect of Brechtian Alienation is the work of the late monologist, Spaulding Gray. Spaulding Gray (1941 2004) was the author and performer of monologues such as Swimming to Cambodia (1987) and Monster in a Box. (1992) During his performances, Spaulding sat serenely behind a desk, sipping water as he related stories of his life, satirized for the benefit of an audience. No subject was taboo. He spoke candidly about puberty, sex and suicide. His monologues contained many messages, some quite political. Although he portrayed himself as a character, disassociating himself from many of the painful memories he shared (such as dealing with the suicide of his mother and his subsequent depression), the audience was always keenly aware that his work was a reflection of his experience, not a factual reporting of the experience itself. His words made audiences introspective, leading them to mull over issues of social justice. His final performance was his own suicide in 2004, pointedly highlighting the issues facing the mentally ill. The next example is not motivated by any political agenda. Renaissance

  • 8. Thanksgiving And Independence Day Holidays are a time for families to come together and enjoy their time with one another. Every person has their own personal favorite holiday however, it may differ from others for many different reasons. Some holidays are region specific that may only be recognized in a few countries or a single country. For example, Thanksgiving and Independence Day are two holidays that only Americans celebrate. As many years have passed since these holidays were first celebrated, some may not understand the reason why these holidays are celebrated. Having the knowledge of why the holiday is celebrated, can determine which holiday is one s favorite. Thanksgiving and Independence Day are a celebration of important events in America s history that have changed the nation into what it is today. • 9. The Emperor s New Clothes Hans Christian Anderson displays insight into the vanity of man in the popular children s story, The Emperor s New Clothes . Although born into the world as unique individuals, humans grow up seeking approval, acceptance, and validation in the societal norms in which they live. Rather than embracing their individuality, most live out their lives trying to fit into a mold that their culture deems as successful. Most cultures view accomplishments, wealth, and positions of influence as measures of success; thus, an individual s value is calculated by what he has externally and not by who he is internally. Therefore, many people fail to develop their gifts, talents, and personalities to live a fulfilling life for themselves, and they succumb to societal pressure to strive for the materialistic, external trappings of success. This presents a struggle between self and society. In The Emperor s New Clothes , Anderson uses clothingto symbolize this struggle wearing society s accepted standards as clothes to mask our naked vulnerability to rejection. Anderson s story centers on an emperor whose validation comes from his wardrobe. This fondness for beautiful clothes leaves him vulnerable to a couple of swindlers who come to his town; these con artists claimed to be weavers of an extraordinary cloth that is invisible to anyone who was unfit for his office or unforgiveable stupid (The Emperor s New Clothes, para 2). Their final confrontation, however, reveals Manley to be a cunning atheist while Hulga is exposed as a girl whose naivete sharply contradicts the nihilistic cliches she professes. After the confrontation in the hay loft with Hulga, Manley is revealed as an abuser and a thief, but only to Hulga. There are two types of irony throughout this story, situational irony and verbal irony. Situational irony is found when Hulga is expecting to seduce an innocent, however, it turns out to be quite different. Joy Hulga is easily the most taken advantage of character in the entire story. As her ugly sounding name implies, she appears ugly and evil, but deep down she has a desire for love and happiness. She says, I am one of those people who see through to nothing (115). Or do you think of a small, bare headed girl leading a great army into victory? Many people think that the first one is more realistic, but the 2nd is also very true. St. Joan of Arc fits the description perfectly. She became a knightwhen no girl could, led armies to victory, and did it all in the name of God, which makes her an excellent role model for many people. During the time of kings and queens, knighthood was a very hard title to attain, but that didn t stop Joan of Arc. Most girls were expected to stay at home and care for kids and do the chores. St. Joan strayed from this idea, and worked hard to become a role usually assigned to boys only. St. Joan was determined, hard working, and motivated, qualities needed to be a hero. St. Joan of Arc didn t just become a knight, and just sit there as a follower. She became a leader, that led her army to victory. Most girls followed the men, like sheep following a shepherd. Further, this study, which uses a sample of Malaysian based Japanese and Western MNCs , in addition to Malaysian local firms, is deemed important due to the magnitude of these MNCs impacts on the Malaysian economy. According to Ariff (2004) of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research, the United States and Japan are the second and third largest investors in Malaysia. Their total exports and imports were above USD38 billion and USD18 billion respectively (Ministry of International Trade 2005). Also, these MNCs create huge employment and skill enhancement opportunities in Malaysia. In addition, data collection and preliminary interviews with the senior management of various industries reveal that the personal care industry is ideal for this study, given its competitive nature in which the labour turnover rate is high and the employees are highly mobilised. This industry is also considered as ideal in terms of the growing Asian market, the ability of such companies to offer higher than average pay packages (MEF, 2004), and high labour turnover (14.5 per cent) as a consequence of the heavy poaching of talented cadres by both business rivals and unrelated industries (MEF, 2004). This situation calls for investigation into the personal care industry. Thus, this study

The ongoing collection of data is what drives behavior analysts decisions when it comes to making changes to the plan they have created. This guideline also includes the expectation that, when presenting information for publication or at a conference, behavior analysts present information with the highest degree of integrity (Bailey Burch, 2011). This integrity is established by the use of the scientific knowledge that the behavior analyst has gained in their training. Scientific evidence serves another purpose in behavior analysis. It guides the decision in the types of treatment procedures that are selected for implementation. According to Van Houten, et al. This fact is key because one of the rights a client has is the right to the most effective treatments available. When the behavior analyst is able to combine the use of the scientific data and the use of scientifically proven effective treatments, they are able to accomplish the goal that they should start with for each client. A behavior analyst has been most effective in helping their clients when they are able to withdrawal themselves from the clients life altogether (Skinner, 1978). Another ethical guideline for behavior analysts is that they will pursue

The gingivais considered an adaptation of the oral masticatory mucosa covering the alveolar bone and surrounding the cervical portions of teeth. The gingiva protects the roots of teeth, and underlying alveolar bone from mechanical trauma and serves as the first line of defence against bacteria by preventing it from reaching the deeper structures [201, 203]. Pictures are uploaded, transactions are made on thousands of online retail websites, and banking transactions take place everyday on the Internet. All of these transactions have created a need for secure communications. People wish to keep things like banking, medical, and political information from the eyes of unwelcome parties. This has created a need for cryptography. Cryptography was first used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Technology will continue advancing and that necessary to crack encryptions will become readily available to those looking for it (12). Therefore, it is necessary to develop new methods to ensure security in the future. This had led to quantum cryptography, which is a potentially uncrackable form of communication (12). According to physicist Duncan Earl, quantum cryptography is a future proof technology (13). Quantum cryptology requires that the two parties create and share a secret key, unlike in public key encryption (13). Instead of using factoring to secure the key shared between two parties, photons of light are used (13). If a third party tries to intercept the photons, discrepancies will show and the two parties will know the connection is no longer secure (13). The law of physics states that in order to make a measurement on light, a disturbance must be made (13). This means that it would be impossible to intercept the secret key without alerting the sender and receiver. Public key encryption relies on the trust that the computationally difficult problem used to share the key is too strong for any computer out there to break (13). However, photons are not made for long distance use (13). In order for this quantum cryptography theory to work for everyone, the range would need to be much larger. Aside from the different types of crytopgraphy, there are also different functions (Goldwasser 16). Two important types of

The town had a piece of land that had not been cleared across the Kettle Rover to the east of the Sandstone that Barstow thought would be perfect. The Decision Of Our Final Residential Location Choice Model Before the decision of our final residential location choice model, we tested how preferences of residential location are different among age and income groups. Stratifying the sample of households by age and income is helpful to identify some of the heterogeneity in housing preferences among different market segments as well as investigate whether differences of location preferences exist between different groups. All the household location choice models performed reasonably well as shown in table 1, 2, and 3. The empirical results show that different age groups have different residential location preferences. As shown in Table 1, the access to employment is statistically significant and positive in Groups 1 and 3 but insignificant in Group 2. This result implies that job opportunity is an important factor in the household residential location choice decision, especially for the young and old household groups. On the other hand, households in Group 2 do not tend to prefer the location where job opportunity is relatively good, although it is not statistically significant. Rather, land price is positive and significant in Group 2, which means they are likely to choose the location where land price is high. This may be because most households in Group 2 consider their children s education in their residential location decision. This will be controlled and manipulated using a stick with different sizes of circles at 3 distances from the octopus s location in the tank. The three distances will be at 60cm, 30cm and 15cm and the diameter of the circles at the end of the stick will be 4cm, 10cm and 17cm. The Eternal City And Her Empire Michael Miller Extended Essay (Lack of title page) Word count: 2594 Introduction The Eternal City and her empire, spanning at its peak from chilly Britain to sweltering Egypt, did not spring from glory (Nelson). Her legions were not born, trained, and blooded as professionals, or as the legends that they came to be; nor were her architects and engineers blessed by providence with the talent that has kept Rome standing for more than two thousand years. It indeed rings true when said or heard that Rome was not carved out from her seven hills; not built; not fought for nor killed for in a day. Her legacy was painstakingly written with the lives of millions, and the many victories of her army were learned and prepared for through just as many losses. It was not intrinsic ability that conquered all of the Mediterranean coast and lands beyond, but cunning, the ability to adapt when beaten, to recognize superior tactics and to outwit them, to learn from other cultures and militaries, and most importantly, to get back up off the ground when conquered and hit back harder than ever before. The empire created by the sword, lived by the sword, and died by the sword, wielded by one of the most dynamic and influential militaries in the history of the world. My future is now composed of dreams that I have created throughout the years since I was young. At eight years old, I already had planned out my future: at twenty two, I would have already been working as a paleontologist, excavating skeletons of dinosaurs, in Africa, and then I would have become the first person ever riding a hover board down the hill in front of my house in Puerto Rico. I would also have become the best person I could be to make my parents and friends proud of me. Growing up has taught me that the only paleontologist that I looked up to was Dr. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park and that owing a hover board would mean that I would have to be filthy rich. However, growing up has also taught me that I could still become the outstanding person that I aspire to be. My future dreams have drastically changed as I have grown older. Now, I have become aware that sometimes it does not matter what you plan for because life will always have a different plan for you. Because, like a drop of salt water in the ocean, I walk next to life itself patiently waiting for what happens next. Even though my perspective of my future dreams has changed, I do have dreams that I strive for, each and every day. I strive for relationships that are full or love, compassion, and honesty. I strive for being proud of who I am. I strive to celebrate humanity s uniqueness, to fight

Archer remembers, At the time I was in the advertising business and had a company called Archer Malmo...I remember working on marketing materials for the city and they did not want to mention Graceland because he died of a drug overdose and the music and BBQ thing is just a bunch of drunk people. So all the cultural tourism...everybody in those days the city that looked like and wanted to be like was Charlotte, North Carolina. Sitler and Schledwitz soon joined Archer at the corner of College and McLemore. They determined that the only course of action was to get a Stop Work Order and headed over to the Chancery Court of Shelby County, Tennessee that
  • 53. Importance Of Writing In Writing Dear Mrs. Thompson, before this class I was not very interested in writing. I used to slack as a writer in elementary school. My aunt used to make me read many books on the weekends and in summer. Then she would have me write lengthy book reports on them. I hated hyer for them at the time but they really helped me out in the long run. Unfortunately, these habits did not follow me into middle school. Throughout middle school. It just did not seem like a skill I needed if I was going into the medical field. Little did I know... essays are part of so many assignments in high school. I wrote so many essays freshman year, even in my geophys class! Like what?! Then it was included so much during sophomore year. My first hour class was American Lit, this was such a drag, writingin the morning was torture, But, I made the best of it since I did not have many other classes that required me to write lengthy papers. I improved m writing skills all around in the class, more specifically, my spelling skills. As I went through junior year I began encountering much writing in my math class. My current class, Statistical Reasoning in Sports, has me writing so many paragraphs. I never would have thought this is how it would be. However, all these classes and assignments did improve my writing. The length of my papers increased drastically as well as my description in them. There are still many more skills I need to work on. Like my attention to detail while writing, I make many obvious
  • 54. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Extraction Chapter Five Discussion Extraction is a process by which substances and active constituents are separated from the original matrix, extraction process depends on many physical and chemical characteristics. Extraction is divided into two types liquid phase extraction and solid phase extraction depending on the physical phase of extraction agent(Rezaee et al., 2006). In our study, we have adopted liquid phase extraction for several reasons. Firstly, simple, inexpensive, relatively precise and wide range methods for separation, identification, and quantification of drugs, poisons, and herbal medicine. Secondly, An equilibrium distribution is established by the ratio between two phases will be influenced by the choice of the extracting solvent, the pH value of the aqueous phase and the ratio of the volumes of the organic to aqueous phases (Ahadi et al., 2011). ... The selection of solvents was based on the gradual increase in the polarity, ethyl acetate, acetone, ethanol, methanol, and water. The highest efficient solvent for extraction was water as the total yield weight of the extracts was 3.4 g in the fatted and defatted J. regia using microwave and soxhlet methods. Whereas, the lowest efficient solvent for extraction was ethyl acetate as the total yield weight of the extracts was only 0.74 g. The increase in the polarity of the extraction solvent has conferred a significant increase in yield amount as there were 4.6 fold increases in the amount of yield between the lowest polarity solvent (ethyl acetate) and the highest polarity solvent (water) regardless to the extraction

  • 57. A Brief Note On The Syrian Refugee Crisis Our lives are ruled by technology, most of the adults from generation Y and Z start their day the same way: by checking social media. You may have noticed the term Aleppo trending frequently as of lately. If you asked yourself what is Aleppo? then you asked the same question that Gary Johnson repeated out loud. On September 8th, 2016 Gary Johnson was on MSNBC s Morning Joe , and was asked If you were elected, what would you do about Aleppo? his response: Aleppo? And what is Aleppo? I wanna talk about the Syrian refugee crisis going on around the world but lets begin with an old saying by Joseph Stalin. When one man dies that s a tragedy, when thousands die that s a statistic. Large numbers can feel cold and distant and even kind of comforting because they don t feel like people, and I think that s the reason much of the world was able to ignore the years old Syrian refugee crisis until recently. But then after thousands of refugees died this year trying to get to Europe, one three year old boy washed ashore in Turkey. His name was Aylan Kurdi and he drowned with his five year old brother and his mom trying to get to Greece. His father Abdullah has now returned to Syria to bury his wife and children and when offered the opportunity to resettle in another country Abdullah said, Now I don t want anything. What was precious is gone. To talk about the refugee crisis we need statistics but let us not forget what is precious. In the past 5.5 years there has been

What is judicial waiver, and how does it compare with legislative waiver and prosecutorial waiver? A Judicial Waiver is a type of waiver selected by a juvenile court at a hearing. It is the traditional type of waiver. Legislative Waiver, and Prosecutorial Waiver, is not selected by the Juvenile Court at the hearing. In most states (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, and New York are exceptions), juveniles can be transferred to an adult criminal court by means of a separate waiver or transfer hearing in the juvenile court to determine the appropriateness of the waiver. This method of waiver, which can be called judicial waiver, is the traditional method by which juvenile cases have been transferred to criminal courts. However, the exact process by which judicial waiver occurs
