The Performance Report Of The United States Air Force
How much effort would the average employee put in at work if they quality and quantity of work
produced, did not have any effect on their annual performance report? Most workers would do the
minimum, because there are no incentives to exceed the standard. How can the senior leaders
effectively differentiate between employees, to ensure that the correct individuals are being
promoted when all the employees receive the highest ratings on their annual performance reports?
This is one of the problems with the current performance reports in the United States Air Force
today. This paper will begin with a brief background on the current performance report issues, the
new performance report, and the effect on the individual perceptions. The paper will continue with
how the group is using communication to influence, and finally, how a change in culture is needed
for the new system to work.
The United States Air Force has been using the same basic process for performance reports and
promotions, with only a few minor changes since their inception 45 years ago. With the manning
in the Air Force being the smallest it has been since it s inception in 1947, the senior leaders want
to ensure they are promoting the best performers (Harper, 2014). Since military leaders can give
orders that could mean an individuals death and is a hierarchy, it is very important that a leader be
the most qualified person in technical and leadership ability. The Air Force uses the Weighted

Medicine and Doctors in Final Cut by Atul Gawande
The main theme of Final Cut by Atul Gawande is that medicine is an inexact science and doctors
are not always sure of themselves, even if they appear confident. Gawande s main argument is
simply stated: there has been a decline in the amount of autopsies performed in the medical field as
a result of medical arrogance; over confident doctors believe they know the cause of death and do
not want to perform autopsies. Gawande illustrates his argumentby outlining the history of autopsy
use in medicine, incorporating medical cases that he has experienced as a surgeon, and including
statistics on autopsy usage. Final Cut is an outstanding profile on the decline of autopsy use in
medicine. What makes Final Cut an enjoyable and informative article for all readers is its use of
strategies associated with fiction such as the establishment of characters, balance between medical
information and personal experience, and its use of active voice. It is evident throughout Final Cut
that Gawande is an author who draws on and adapts elements of fiction such as the establishment of
characters and the creation of tension and suspense within his journalism. By incorporating medical
cases he has experienced as a surgeon, Gawande is able to establish many characters that the reader
develops an emotional connection with. This emotional connection develops because readers are
provided with just enough information about the characters to individualize them, allowing readers
to care about

The Theory Of Evolution And Adaptation
There are three major refutations against the design argument, first she designs argument is faulted
for its weak analogy between the natural objects and the objects that that is known to have a creator
such as buildings. This is the equivalent of comparing apples to oranges. For the second refutation
the design argumentclaims that everything has a perfect design, this simply isn t the case. For
example, we can examine the issues of starvation within the United States, although the world is
structured to perfectly provide food for humans, there still people starving because of imperfect
circumstances such as the inability to transport food to those who can`t receive it themselves
(Tombs 7). The strongest and most accepted argument against the design argument is the theory of
evolution and adaptation. Those who support the theory of evolution and adaptation credits the
perfect design of the aspects to those two concepts. Artic Fish are an example of this adaption, they
have developed a protein in their blood that prevent their blood from freezing which allows them
continue their metabolic functions (Lloyd 2). The finally argument against the design theory states
that even if the premise of the argument is true, its doesn t necessarily confirm the existenceof God.
The third argument of the existence of Godis the ontological argument. Unlike the cosmological and
the design arguments the ontological argument does not attempt to seek evidence with in our

Implementing Educational Applications And Software Into...
Apple has evolved over the years and has begun implementing educational applications and
software into their products and digital store. This was done to provide an efficient and effective
way to bring the student and teacher together by use of technology. Apple has thus, created and
implemented a program called, iTunesUniversity. This provides a space, via the iPad, where
students can converse, learn, develop, and write with the teachers help or under the educator s
supervision. This is an invaluable tool that can be utilized in the classroom to aid in lesson
planning and improve learning. While you can use this specific application via a Mac or PC, the
benefit is obvious and can be accessed easily via a tablet. The reason this is so... Show more content

The use of iPads and its applications will allow children and teens to grow as a student and
participate with the entire class. In fact, Huffington Post found that, Technology has proven to
accelerate struggling students close the learning gap between those at the back of the class and the
A students. In fact, 78 percent of Kindergarten through Middle School teachers agree that
technology has had a positive impact on their classroom and that s just the start (Hendricks,
2013). This highlights the fact that students already are and will continue to excel in the
classroom by the use of modern technology; i.e. the iPad. Also, companies around the world have
updated the their way of doing business actions like budgeting, presentations, purchases, record
keeping, etc. by applying modern technology. Allowing students to be exposed to modern
technology at an early age will only benefit them in their future career paths. iPads in the
classroom has spread across the country like wild fire. More than 20 Chicago schools will test
iPads in the classroom this year, thanks to a mini grant offered by CPS. Two hundred schools
applied for the grants, valued at more than $20,000. Each grant includes 32 iPads, 1 MacBook Pro
for syncing purposes, $200 in iTunes credit for applications and a storage cart for the hardware.

Organisations irrespective of their business model use various marketing and communication tools
to promote their offerings and achieve financial and non financial goals. Companies have number of
general objectives for their marketing and communication programs. Some of these objectives can
be informing the prospective customers about their product offerings. Then an attempt is made to
persuade these customers to choose their products out of the given basket of product offering
available in the market. Finally, the objective of the marketingand communication program is to
induce the customers to make a purchase. Moreover, it helps in communicating with the customers

Huckleberry Finn American Experience Essay
The Flight to Freedom
Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves , left the mouth of the once
prominent advocate for the abolishment of slavery, former president of the United States, and
revolution pioneer, Abraham Lincoln, in his quest for the independence of slaves throughout the
nation. Mark Twain s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn expresses the American experience and
captures the same idea of acquiring freedom, both physical and mental escape, through the
characters Huckleberry Finn and Jim, who both physically escape their dangerous and threatening
living arrangements, and the raft that aides Huckleberry and Jim in their quest and exploration of
themselves and a new life. The concept of the American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This coincides with the idea of an American experience for Huck as he is considered hip and daring
for leaving town and his stagnant lifestyle in pursuit something greater, something new, something
that young adults like him would not have considered during that time. As he escapes without
direction Huck encounters Jim, a slave who has also fled his captivity in pursuit of liberation. Huck
befriends the slave and the two venture down the Mississippi River, embarking on a journey in
which they face violence, distress and episodes of lost hope. A large change that we the readers
view during the time Huck and Jim spent together on the river, is Huck s perception of slavery.
After conversing with and getting to know Jim, his values, beliefs and dreams, Huck begins to
truly believe that slaves like Jim are not as society paints them to be, that they too are humans with
feelings and deserve rights equal to a white man. It is through Huck s change of heart and
development of character that Twain suggests a new way of thinking for future generations of
Americans, as they experience more places, people and cultures.
Twain also employs the character Jim to convey the American experience , despite him falling short
of many opportunities that free, white Americans were able to have during this time.

Nicholas II And Rasputin s Role In Imperial Russia During...
During World War I Nicholas II assumed supreme command of the Russian Army in September
1915. Nicholas II s personal expectation of command grew out of one of the critical weaknesses of
his reign: his own incompetence as a ruler and as an individual. In addition to his naive belief that
he shared a personal communion with the Russian people, he ruled over a political system that
could not function without his immediate presence. This fact was not merely perceived in
hindsight. When the Emperor announced his decision to his cabinet, ten of the twelve ministers of
state objected and tried to convince him to reconsider. Tellingly, ministers in Imperial Russiaserved
only at the pleasure of the tsar and had no responsibility to the Duma, which... Show more content

But it was the desperate inability of Russia to mobilize its industry to a war footing, at a cost of
hundreds of thousands of casualties, that gutted the morale and ability of the army and ultimately
broke its loyalty to the throne.
Russian soldiers marched into combat in 1914 1915 blind, dismounted, and, incredibly, often
unarmed. Aerial reconnaissance, so vital given the vast distances and rapid pace of operations on
the Eastern Front, was nearly impossible. Cavalry could no longer perform this traditional function
rapidly enough. Even though Russia had 250 airplanes at the start of the war, lack of spare parts

infernal contraptions) kept most aircraft grounded and Russian commanders

The Oven Room Analysis
My first reason for thinking the drawings best think the drawings depict the Holocaust
experience, because in the first portrayal The Oven Room by David Olere it shows people are
carrying others in a cot to be cauterized. This depicts the Holocaust experience because in fact
millions of Jews were killed and burned. They were put into the burners by their own people. And
it is not just a few carcasses it s hundreds upon hundreds. And it also shows what happened in this
man s everyday life in Auschwitz.
My second claim is for the drawing also by David Olere called Birkenau. In this drawing what I feel
depicts the Holocaust experience is, in this photo I see a least one hundred Jews going into the
internment camp and in the back of the drawing

King Leopold II Of Belgium Colonized The Congo
King Leopold II of Belgium colonized the African country of Congo with the help of American
explorer Henry Stanley. Leopold desperately wanted the Congo to expand his small territory and
to secure his place in the world. To do this, he sent Stanley to gain treaties from tribe leaders in
the Congo River basin, from 1875 to 1884. Stanley succeeded in obtaining signatures through a
combination of trickery and force. Ever since then, the Congo was dealt a low blow by invidious,
violent takeovers. Leopold s ruthless reign lasted from 1885 to 1908, and then the Belgian
government took over for nearly five decades. The Congo gained complete independence from

According to a report from the World Bank in 2015, the Congo is among the poorest countries in
the world. In contrast, a Congolese refugee of the Casement Report released in 1904 informed of
the brutality their family were subject to by Belgian soldiers. They recounted that We had to go
further and further into the forest... without food... we starved....leopards killed some of us...
and others got lost or died from exposure and starvation... soldiers said: Go! You are only beasts
yourselves. Additionally, another refugee from the same report disclosed that troops would
often kill the Congolese for the sake of rubber. Once, a soldier, pointing to a basket, said... look,
only two hands! That s nothing... I brought the white man 160 hands. The hands the soldier was
referring to were those of the Congolese workers who labored in dangerous forests to find
rubber. Indigenous people were denied sustenance, had their hands cut off for amusement, or
were shot, at the whims of Belgian soldiers. The meager wages paid to the Congolese could not
be collected while the worker was recovering from injury, which forced greater poverty to befall
the people of Congo in the long run. When the injury was permanent, such as a severed limb,
families lost the little income they had. As a result, many starved to death. This poverty was then
handed down to further generations, creating a ripple effect that can still be felt today. Over half a
century later, Congo is an acutely poor nation. This is the culmination of violence the Congolese
faced during colonization. Without the cruelness of the Belgian colonists, families would have
enough money to buy proper nutrition for themselves, and many more people would survive.
Therefore, the end result of poverty in modern day Congo is a direct consequence of the savagery
inflicted upon the indigenous people during

The Works Of Anonymous Street Artist
This paper will explore a form of modern day propaganda which is quite controversial, that of the
works of anonymous street artist by the name of Banksy. Banksy uses the sides of buildings,
streets and bridges as a blank canvas as a social commentary against political issues. Chapter 1 will
argue how Banksy s street artis a form of visual culture and propagandaby defining propaganda and
comparing his works to previous examples of visual manipulation in history, such as pro war
posters during World War I
and II. Chapter 2 will further explore the nature and intention of the
artist, focusing on the content of his work as well as the political, social and religious context they
display. Furthermore, chapter 3 will focus on the public reception Banksy s works have received,
both positive and negative and how the debate between his work going against typical forms of
visual persuasion is successful and impactful.
The concept of propaganda is difficult to put into a simplified definition as it is quite complex and
involves many factors. As a result, many historians and theorists have developed their own
definitions of this concept. In 1948, American researcher Leonard Doob defined propaganda as the
attempt to affect the personalities and to control the behaviour of individuals towards desired ends
(Glander Timothy, 2000). German propagandist Joseph Goebbels characterized propaganda by
stating that we do not talk to say something, but to obtain a certain effect (Ellul,

Argumentative Essay On Human Cloning
Human cloning is threatening our society. Yes it has benefits but with these benefits there s a
risk. First and foremost i disagree with cloning because, it hasn t developed yet and it can take a
lot of tries before getting a human being to this earth. On the other hand, animals have been cloned
since the beginning of this technology. They have a 70% chance of being born safely but that is
not the same for humans the percentage to clone a human is 20% to 40% which is not even past
birth. There has been a lot of failure on cloningbut maybe one day it will be perfected. But over
the years cloning has increased at a more stable rate. This new cloning technology can really
wrong because, you re basically make a robot just in a human form factor. One good thing about
cloning is that they can clone certain organ cells and damaged tissue. But to do something like
that it s 50,000 dollars which only certain people can afford. That s why is not extremely
common to hear someone say that they have cloned a tissue or an organ. However cloning is not
cheap it s expensive but is it worth it? Favorably, it all depends on what you would like to clone
and does it have a value to your day to day life. Supposing that you want to clone your dog or cat
the estimated price is from 25,000 thousand dollars and it can reach higher pricing. People who
have the money to do these sort of things must have been with that pet for a long time and that
pet means a lot to them. However when you re cloning a pet yes they are going to have the same
characteristics as the one who passed away. Although it won t feel the same as having your
original pet. In my opinion people are doing this because it s an outlet for them to forget how their
pet and pretend like it s still there with them. Part of these people don t even think on what they are
doing because they are so inlove with their animals. They should really think about cloning pets and
them make a decision. But if it means a lot to them then they should do it at there own risk. Know
in an article named What happened to cloning? They are stating that back in the 2000 s they
thought of banning cloning but politicians could not agree at what stage of development cloning

The purpose of roving wiretaps is to maintain the monitoring of a target no matter what. For
example if a target attempts to defeat surveillance by throwing away a phone and acquiring a

breaking the surveillance by changing location or their communications

targets that actually do pose a threat to society. I actually feel it is also a more sufficient form or

This is similar to how Putin hacked the U.S. election so Trump could become President for his
benefit. In 1984, after the split of Goldstein and Big Brother, Goldstein formed a Brotherhood to

Brotherhood that supposedly fought for freedom from the oppressive government. Goldstein is
portrayed as the enemy of Big Brother and according to Ingsoc propaganda and describes him as
a traitor, The program of the Two Minutes Hate varied from day to day, but there was none in

the Party s purity (Orwell, 13). This is closely related to Russia and Putin on how Russia is also
portrayed as the enemy of the U.S. as well as Putin is also described as a bad person for
conflicting with the election. This shows that Goldstein is an accurate representation of Russia
since they are an anti U.S. country, but Trump believes Putin did not do the evil deeds. However,

The Imperfection of Perfection In Anne Tyler s Teenage Wasteland, the reader is given insight into
the difficulty of parenting through Daisy s desperate attempt to stop her son from his seemingly

tainting of Donny s innocence over time and eventually his mysterious disappearance at the end of

The description of the face as endearing and fine featured implies that Daisy believes her son

In return, Daisy feels that her son still has the ability to be saved. The change in Donny s
innocence, and his mother s idea that the perfect child exists, is directly correlated to Daisy s view
on parenting throughout the story. It is Daisy s view on parenting that causes her to turn to Cal as a
tutor for Donny in the hopes that he has all the answers. At Cal s house, Donny and the other

Extra legal solutions aim to incentivize practicing lawyers to engage in pro bono work. This
paper will focus on incentivizing lawyers to do pro bono work. First, the paper will discuss the
main barrier to pro bono work and then it will suggest a general framework to address the barrier.
The main barrier to pro bono work is liability risk, which should be shifted to an insurance provider.
The main reason behind private practice lawyers reluctance to take on pro bono cases is liability
risk. In Canada, most practicing lawyers have professional liability insurance coverage.
According to the Federation of Law Societies of Canada ( FLSC ) report, in Ontario, 85 out of
125 charges laid resulted in conviction. Overall, LawPro (main insurance provider to lawyers in
Ontario) received 5140 complaints. Even though there is only 1.65% chance of a successful
malpractice claim (but 68% chance if a charge is laid), lawyers are still fearful of such claims.
Lawyers practice meticulously because mistakes will end their career. For example, the team of
lawyers that drafted the contract in the comma case will likely not be hired again. The legal
profession is reputation based. Clients expect expertise, competence, and perfection. Failure to
deliver less than a perfect document that costs the client money will ruin the lawyer s reputation.

For a minute, we re just two people wondering why things are the way they are (Minny; 235).
With such an upsetting scene, Stockett provides understanding of how we are not as different as
we think. Minny is sympathetic towards Celia because no woman should have to endure what she
has and to have gone through it more than once. Trust begins to form between the two ladies as the
book goes on and their relationship breaks the chains of segregation. Minny Jackson and Celia
Foote s relationship is only one of the connections between whites and colors that Stockett presents
in her novel. Even though Minny and Celia had an understanding relationship, Stockett provides
intense moments between the two in order to draw connections to the reader. But Stockett
brilliantly changes our perspective with the women narrating so we may observe the full effect of
each decision the character produce. Thus while we have one maid beginning to understand the life
of her boss and how it s not so different from her issues, we are also presented with the difficulties

Bloody Chamber Gothic
Consider how the Gothic elements present in The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter and the
Selected Poems of John Keats affect the presentation of women within the texts. In the course of
your response make reference to how Dracula by Mary Shelley has illuminated your
understanding. Gothic literature has the tendency to portray women as one of two archetypes; the
predator or the victim . The first is often shown to be the temptress of the story, ethereal and
deadly; she helps portray the pain/pleasure paradox that has come to be synonymous with Gothic
literature. The victim is fragile and vulnerable, acting as the damsel of the story and is often a
reward for male success. However, within the chosen texts the arrangement of the female characters

The death pale kings and princes with starved lips suggest that with their affection the Belle
Dame has taken part of the men s humanity and left them on the edge of death. The great men are
reduced to captives and ghosts of their former selves, implying that Keats believes her allure and
perhaps female allure in general to be incredibly powerful. The way in which the Belle Dame s
past lovers are kept captive in a dream world is similar to the collection of the Marquis wives

to represent temptation within their work, however, Keats favours portraying the temptresses as
villains, whilst Carter generally shows them to be preyed upon by powerful

Mobile Phones Essay
In their relatively short period of widespread use since their introduction in 1978 (Agar, 2003),
handheld mobile telephones have had a significant impact across the globe on a social and
economic level, however the long term impact of their use is difficult to predict. Despite this,
mobile use in Australia has rapidly grown to rate of almost 130 phones per 100 people (MNO
Directory, 2011), one of the highest in the world. Increasingly, consumers are purchasing smart
phones, which have the same capabilities as computers in terms of internet access and processing
power (Macmillan, 2007). These modern smart phones also allow for advanced features, such as
mobile high speed access to the internet and social media, and the ability to create,... Show more

Dr Aric Sigman in his 2009 publication makes the claim that face to face contact has been
declining as a result of social networking, and this reduction in human contact can alter the way
genes work, upset immune responses, hormone levels, the function of arteries, and influence
mental performance which in turn could increase the risk of serious health problems such as
cancer, strokes, heart disease and dementia. With social network users totalling 1.43 billion in
2012, increasing almost 20% since 2011 (EMarketer, 2012), it certainly appears as though the
popularity of these websites is showing no evidence of a decline, and if the claims Dr Sigman
makes in his article are accurate, the use of social networking on mobile phones simply
amplifies the negative aspects of social networking. Mobile software or apps are a popular, but
recent feature of mobile phones. Software store fronts come preinstalled on all major smart phone
platforms, and provide the user with access to a range of downloadable content such as games,
themes and applications which can provide additional features not provided by the original
equipment manufacturer. With the mobile application market expected to grow to be worth $25

High School Football Benefits
Participating in high school football has had a beneficial impact on myself as a person. Football
has prepared me for situations and scenarios I will face during adulthood. Football workouts and
activities occupied almost every day from the beginning of July to the end of October. This
experience is similar to a person going to work almost every single day. If an individual on our
team was ever tardy for a football function, the player was punished. The gameof football also
taught me to face adversity; in the game of football not everything can go your team s way, but it
is the way the team meets the challenge that shows who they really are. This applies in the business
world.

The Pilgrim s Progress By John Bunyan
The Pilgrim s Progress written by John Bunyan was a very deep and touching story to me. After
reading it and trying to interpret what it was saying I decided that I could actually relate more to
this story than I realized through my faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. John Bunyan uses a
dream of the main character, Christian, to describe a life changing event for Christian to grow
spiritually while traveling and meeting new people and having first time experiences. The Pilgrims
Progress is an allegory to the Bibleand Christianitythat portrays what we as Christians believe in.
Bunyan uses the pilgrimage of Christian to express this allegory using the experiences and
people Christian comes into contact with to explore the struggles and challenges of life on
earth Christians faces daily when seeking eternal life. The first challenge Christian faces is his
guilt. As a Christian, I was always taught right from wrong according to the Bible and when I am
in the wrong for something, I feel guilty because I know it is wrong and that it is not necessarily
how God wants me to live my life or what he wants from me. The guilt arises because I am
promised eternal greatness after my life here on earth as long as I believe in JesusChrist and I
continue to strive to be a Christian, and well lets face it, who would not feel guilty being
promised such an amazing thing in exchange for being a good person and following the biblical
scripture of Christ. I dreamed, and behold, I saw a man

The show makes an obvious distinction between how men/boys and women/girls act. Anyway,
the episode continues with lisa playing with her doll pretending that Malibu Stacy is giving a
speech at the U.N, but Lisa is disappointed when she realizes that the new and improved doll says
sexist remarks such as don t ask me, I m just a girl and let s buy make up so that boys will like
us! . Lisa goes on a rant about how millions of girls will grow up thinking that this is the right
way to act! That they cannot be anything more than vacuous ninnies...! and gets really mad
when Bart does not understand why she is so upset. The difference in communication styles is
shown here as Lisa is more adept with words than Bart is as Bart can only give Lisa a stupid
reply like that s what I was going to say. This illustrates the stereotype that girls are more
expressive and sensitive than boys are. On the other hand, Marge plays the more traditional
housewife as her mind never delves into issues that are not relevant to the domestic center; she is
not privy to relevant discussions on social issues like Lisa and cannot understand why Lisa is so
upset. She said that Lisa had been speaking up an awful lot lately. This suggests that typical lady
like behavior does not include speaking out and that the mother should enforce positive female
behavior. Additionally, in

Beethoven s Major Accomplishments
Ludwig van Beethoven was a famous composer between the Classical and Romantic eras. He
was born in December of 1770, in Bonn, Germany. Ludwig had a terrible childhood, because of
his dad who was an alcoholic most of his life, who was also a musician himself, and with that his
father would make him play the piano and practice every day and would smack him if he made a
mistake. This is how he developed such a talent for music, because of his father. Although he was
deaf, he made most of his famous and important works during that time. He still remains to be the
most famous and influential composers of all time. At the age of seventeen, his teacher and
mentor sent him to Vienna, to study more in depth of the art of music. There in Vienna, he was
able to meet great musicians and composers, such as Mozart. Ludwig would continue to grow in
his knowledge of music and writing great symphonies. From his time in Vienna, he began to excel
and people began to notice him. This all started his impact on music. From Beethoven s famous
works, moonlight sonata to the 3rd symphony, Beethoven is considered as the most well known
composer between the transitions of classical music to the romantic era. (Biography Par. 3) In
1798 when he was 26 years old, he noticed that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Genghis Khan and his Army in Mongolia in 1162
Temujin, better known as Genghis Khan, was born in northern Mongolia in 1162. After uniting
the nomadic Mongolian tribes in 1206, Khan led a successful military campaign that spanned
more than three decades, pillaging vast areas of land and subjugating millions of people. Though
Khan and his armies are often thought of as cruel barbarians, his advanced military tactics and
progressive outlook on ruling painted him in a somewhat different light. Although he was born to
a noble Mongolian family, early life for Khan was violent and unpredictable. At the age of 10, his

During an engagement between the two armies, the Mongolians deployed a false withdrawal, one
of their most common tactics. While the forces of Yinchuan attempted to recover from the initial
attack of Mongolian cavalry, a massive siege was launched upon the city. Although the Mongolian
attempt to flood the city ultimately failed, the Xi Xia ruler recognized the military superiority of
the Mongolians and decided to submit and present tribute. After conquering the kingdom of Xi Xia,
the Mongols attacked the Jin Dynasty of northern China. This war was aggravated by the Jin ruler,
who demanded that Mongolia submit to the Jin Dynasty as a vassal state. From 1211 to 1214, the
Mongolians fought a war of attrition, pillaging the countryside and sending thousands of refugees
into the cities, creating major food shortages. Seeing no alternative, the Jin army massacred tens of
thousands of its own peasants in an attempt to prevent large scale starvation. In 1214, the
Mongolians besieged the severely weakened capital of Zhongdu (now Beijing), the Jin ruler
immediately surrendered and offered large amounts of gold, silver, silk, and horses as tribute.
When the same ruler later angered Khan by moving his court south to the city of Kaifeng, in breach
of their agreement, Khan retaliated by burning the city of Zhongdu to the ground. In 1219 Genghis

While reviewing this website, I ve come to understand that cloning meat is and has been
treacherous to us for providing harm to our farm animals by giving them high doses of different
chemicals, making them live with birth defects and making statements to deceive the public by
saying it s a harmless process that enhances and multiply the breed of animals when it really
does not. The scariest part to this issue is our animals suffer and so do we if we re meat
consumers. (Dan Kedmey) Then studies have proven that bacteriological meat contamination in
the US, for the first time was enacted in 1906 when the Pure Food and Drug Act was signed by
laws in regards of banning infected and mislabeled products from the interstate commerce.
Observations about those risks were associated with bacteriological meat contamination, and
about how it should be regulated, has changed significantly since then. This article focuses
particularly on changes that have occurred in bacteriological meat contamination standards in
the US since the early 1980s when E. coli was for the first time identified as a new foodborne
pathogen associated with the consumption of undercooked meat. The idea of cloning farm
animals is to produce replicas of the animals with the highest economic value, for example the
fastest growing pigs or the highest yielding dairy cows to make a profit off of. However the
process of cloning itself causes our animals suffering. Animals with the highest economic value are
prone to developing severe health problems, pushed to their physical limits; they are destined to a
lifetime of suffering. The Cloning equals Cruelty campaign highlighted intrinsic animal welfare
issues for selective breeding in animals for food, meat and dairy. Research also shows that many
cloned farm animals are born with deformed organs and live short and miserable

Sugar vs. Brown Sugar SPICEography Showdown below can help you to make an educated
decision. How do turbinado sugar and brown sugar differ? To understand how these sugars
differ, we first have to look at how each of them is made. Turbinado sugar is similar to what is
called Demerara sugar in Britain in that it is a raw sugar. It is also marketed as Sugar in the
Raw in the US. It is a minimally processed sugar that has been spun in a centrifuge to get rid of
most of the natural molasses but not all of it. Brown sugar is sugar that has been processed to
remove all of the molasses content to make it into white sugar. At that point, molasses gets added
back to the white sugar to make it brown again. Adding the molasses after processing ensures a
consistent, pure product. In both cases, it is the molasses that provides the color of the sugar. The
main difference is in how much of it there is in the final product. In the case of turbinado sugar, it
provides a yellow tint that is paler than brown sugar.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ebola Virus Disease ( Evd )
Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a severe, often fatal illness in humans. EVD outbreaks have a case
fatality rate of up to 90%. Ebola first appeared on July 27, 1976, the very first person to contract
the Ebola virus began to show symptoms. Ten days later he was dead. The latter was in a village
situated near the EbolaRiver, from which the disease takes its name., with a total of 602 reported
cases and 431 deaths. The first victim to contract Ebola was a cotton factory worker from Nzara,
Sudan. Soon after this first man came down with symptoms, so did his co worker. Then the co
worker s wife became sick. The outbreak quickly spread to the Sudanese town of Maridi, where
there was a hospital. Since no one in the medical field had ever seen this illness before, it took
them awhile to realize that it was passed by close contact. By the time the outbreak had subsided
in the Sudan, 284 people had become ill, 151 of whom had died.
On September 1, 1976, another, even more deadly, outbreak of Ebola struck this time in Zaire.
The first victim of this outbreak was a 44 year old teacher who had just returned from a tour of
northern Zaire. After suffering from symptoms that seemed like malaria, this first victim went to

don t offer you as much as they do here so that s why I also choose to star my career here. Also
this school was recommend by a lot of friends that they graduated from here and that they are now
working. In my career that I choose for a certified nursing assistant there are too many skills that
you would have to learn and focus about. Some skills that you have to know are the needto be a fast
learner, multitask person, be able to work with both hands and be going from one side to another
and standing all they. As a certified nursing you are doing basically a lot because you are
supervisor by the register nurse and they would tell you what to do and give you a lot of chores

The Age Of The Female Students
The equalization between the two groups is to neutralize any secondary or confounding variables
and in order to ensure that the scores obtained may not be affected by such variables. The age of
the female students has been calculated by months. Raven s intelligence test of the progressive
matrices is used to find out the intelligence of both groups. And a multiple choice item test has been
constructed and its validity and reliability have been verified by the researcher to equalize students
in the previous knowledge. Additionally, the students average scores in the previous year have been
taken from the school manager. Also, the academic self regulation scale has been administrated.
Therefore, the variables (age, intelligence,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The topics of the essay test have been chosen from the textbook. After studying a number of
analytical scoring schemes used in the field of study and consulting specialists in the field, the
researcher has constructed an essay scoring scheme (see Appendix 2). Aiming at obtaining
objectivity and reliability of the test, the score distributed on five dimensions according to the
analytical scoring scheme designed by the researcher drawing on relevant literature. The rating
was assigned for five criteria: organization and cohesion, style, language usage, mechanics and
vocabulary. The entire test has been scored out of (60). Each question in the test is given 20
scores. Each dimension in the scoring scheme is given 4 scores. Thus, the highest mark the
student could get is 20 while the lowest mark is 4. 3.4.1.1 Face Validity of the Essay Writing Test
To ensure the face validity, the test and the scoring scheme have been exposed to a jury of experts
in the fields of ELT and Linguistics, who are asked to give their agreement, modifications or any
additional points concerning the test and the scoring scheme. It is necessary to note that both the
test and the scoring scheme are judged as being valid for measuring the essay writing performance
of the students by all jury members by using the percentage of agreement, which means 100%
agreement. The essay writing test has been administrated to the sample of (30) students chosen
from the 5th secondary students

Gas Laws Should Be Taught As A Verb
GAS LAWS
Science should be taught as a verb as well as a noun. Performing science is a compelling as well
as an effective way to learn. It is through the process of exploration, creation and invention that
theories are applied, ideas are tested and knowledge is synthesized.
Much of what discussed in the paper is to have an understanding of gases in the atmosphere,
factors that affect the properties of these gases and so the laws of gases which help to do so. Now
why do we need to study these laws? Because gases compose our atmosphere. These are
responsible for the process without which no one can survive i.e. breathing.
Atmosphere is a gaseous envelope surrounding the earth. It is made up of a combination of water ...

One of the most important things about gases is that, despite wide differences in chemical
properties, all the gases more or less obey the gas laws. The gas laws deal with how gases behave
with respect to pressure, temperature, volume and amount. This uniformity of physical behavior
was of great interest with early scientists. It is one of the dogmas of scientists that the behavior of
a material is a reflection of the particles that make up the substance. In other words, differences
between solids, liquids and gases reflect the movement of the small particles that compose all
matter. This assumption is part of the Kinetic Theory Of Gases (Kinetic is from the Greek word for
motion). Historically, the description of the gas properties has been summarized by the
mathematical equations describing the relationships between the gas volume, pressure and
temperature. These equations, named after the scientist who first demonstrated their validity, have
been labeled the gas laws. These gas laws are best understood within the framework described as
the kinetic theory of gases:
Gases are composed of molecules.
These molecules are in constant motion. This is why gases mix to uniformity and fill all portions
of the containment vessel.
Molecules of the gas collide frequently with each other and with the walls of the containment vessel.
Under ordinary circumstances, the distance between the gas molecules is far greater than the size
of the individual

Halakha, Jewish Religious Law And Religious Commandments
Halakha by definition is Jewish religious law, encompassing both civil and religious
commandments and prohibitions. The word Halakha stems from the root meaning to walk.
Halakha involves the study of law and customs in the Jewish religion. According to rabbinic law it
must be performed to sanctify all life and attain redemption. This idea when introduced was a
collection of rabbinic commentaries from the Hebrew bible or the torah. The importance of halakha
among Judaismand its trends, ideas, theories etc. is the fact that halakha is trying to integrate itself
into the world and not just strictly deal with Jews but integrate itself into the world of non Jews.
Halakha is derived from the oral and written torah. The laws can cover many... Show more content

Responsa are the answers to questions Jews posed in the ancient days, the questions not
addressed by halakhic law but questions posed in everyday life. The importance of responsa in
Judaism is the fact that we have a physical database so to speak on questions about Judaism or
about practices, we have somewhere where the rabbis answered questions posed by the gaon and
Jews of the era and even though they won t correlate with some questions and situations we go
through today as modern Jews in America, the basic questions of Judaism and basic concerns
would be covered by the rabbis of the ancient times. The Talmud has many response within it, they
cover business ethics, ethics, customs, etc. The most posed questions and answers to the responsa
would be rules about ordinary incidents of life.

Effect of Surface Area to Volume Ratio on Rate of Osmosis
[Type text] [Type text] [Type text]
_An experiment on the effect of surface area to volume ratio on the rate of osmosis of Solanum
tuberosum L._
BACKGROUND
A cell needs to perform diffusion in order to survive. Substances, including water, ions, and
molecules that are required for cellular activities, can enter and leave cells by a passive process
such as diffusion. Diffusion is random movement of molecules in a net direction from a region of
higher concentration to a region of lower concentration order to reach equilibrium. Diffusion does
not require any energy input. Diffusion is needed for basic cell functions for example, in humans,
cells obtain oxygen via diffusion from the alveoli of the lungs into the blood and in plants water ...

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the potato cube with the highest surface area to volume ratio (the 1x1x1 cube) had
the fastest rate of diffusion as it had the largest percentage increase in mass. While all the other
cubes of potato had larger increases in mass at face value compared to the smallest cube, the
smallest cube had the largest overall gain in percentage. The results support my hypothesis that the
smallest cube will have a higher rate of osmosis because it has a proportionally larger amount of
surface area compared to its volume.
As seen from the graph above, despite my hypothesis being correct, the trend in the percentage
increase of mass was not a steady

Argumentative Essay On Stem Cell Technology
Technology is continuously evolving and creating new advancements in the medical field. These
developments can potentially cure lethal common diseases such as cancer. In the recent years, the
medical branch has made incredible progress; with discoveries such as technology for migraines
and new alternatives to treat cancer. The most modern cancer treatment is stem cells. Stem cells
have been in the process of development for almost fifty years. Stem cells are nonspecialized cells
that are able to transform into other types of cells. Stem cells are always present in our body, but
are more numerous in embryotic development. Researchers believe that soon, stem cells can lead to
the cure to cancer, or even cloning humans. Although cloning is controversial, it is still very
futuristic anyway. Stem cells have the potential to cure cancers, test medications, and test cell based
treatments.
Initially, the role stem cells play in the development of cancer is crucial. ... Show more content on

Stem cells can be conducted to repair damaged tissues in humans. As we know, cells are the basic
human structures of life. An organelle is made of cells, a group of cells make tissues, which makes
organs, organs are compiled and work together to make an organ system, which all comes together
to make an organism. Uncontrolled cell division is the basic definition of cancer. Stem cell usage
provides vital information about how undifferentiated stem cells can transform into differentiated1
cells that form tissues. Watching stem cells mature in to cells in bones, hearts, and other organs and
tissues can help doctors have a better understanding in the development of conditions and defects.
Scientist from the National Institutes of Health believes genes turning on and off is central to this
process. More knowledge on embryotic development may bear reason to how birth defect occur
and help reinforce new ways to treat uncontrollable cell

The Effect Of Photosynthesis On Plants And The Cycle Of...
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now. This anonymous quote
is a direct reference to the issue of pollution, and the ramifications and effects it has on plants and
the cycle of photosynthesis. Pollution not only directly effect plants and the cycle of
photosynthesis, but pollution can also indirectly harm other elements that contribute to the life of a
plant and the cycles it performs.
Photosynthesis is the cycle in which light energy converts carbon dioxide and water into glucose
and oxygen by ways of a chemical reaction (Robinson 2015). Photosynthesis , overall a fairly
simple process, has couple complex reactions. To fully understand the cycle, it should be broken
down into two simple stages. These stages can be divided up into light reactions and the Calvin
Cycle. In the first step of photosynthesis, the light reaction, solar energy is converted into the form
of chemical energy. This entails the chlorophyll absorbing light from the sun and transforming it
into NADP+ (nicotin amide ademine dinucleotide phosphate) and ATP, through means of a
chemical reaction. During the second stage, the Calvin cycle, the plant takes in CO2, and
processes it through the chloroplast. Following it converts the carbons into carbohydrates by
adding electrons using chemical energy such as ATP. The end result of this stage is sugar and
oxygen. The process of photosynthesis occurs primarily in the chlorophyll of the leaf. The leaf also
has a structural

The Passionate Shepherd to His Love is about a shepherd who promises everything he could to a
woman so that she would love him and live with him. Come live with me my love, and we will
allthe pleasures prove. The Shepard is lonely and really needs a woman companion and he will
give her anything. He promises that he will make her many things. And I will make thee beds of
roses, and A cap of flowers, and akirtle. He really loves this woman ifhe is willing to handcraft
items for her to wear. Some of the things he promises would be very tedious to make andshould
be appreciated greatly. A beltof straw and ivy buds with coral clasps and amber studs. After
making all ofthese things for the woman the man is in for a surprise that he wasn t expecting.
In The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd the Nymph tells the Shepherd what shethinks about all of
the promises that were made to her. If all the world were young, and truth inevery shepherd s
tongue, these pretty pleasures might me move to live with theeand be thy love. Proving that there
is almost no chance at the entire Shepherd getting with the Nymph. Even though he was going to
construct hervery elaborate gifts she still did not want the man. The Flowers to fade The gowns,
thy shoes, thy bed of rose, thycap, thy kirtle, and thy posies, soon break, soon wither soon forgotten,

  • 2. The Performance Report Of The United States Air Force How much effort would the average employee put in at work if they quality and quantity of work produced, did not have any effect on their annual performance report? Most workers would do the minimum, because there are no incentives to exceed the standard. How can the senior leaders effectively differentiate between employees, to ensure that the correct individuals are being promoted when all the employees receive the highest ratings on their annual performance reports? This is one of the problems with the current performance reports in the United States Air Force today. This paper will begin with a brief background on the current performance report issues, the new performance report, and the effect on the individual perceptions. The paper will continue with how the group is using communication to influence, and finally, how a change in culture is needed for the new system to work. The United States Air Force has been using the same basic process for performance reports and promotions, with only a few minor changes since their inception 45 years ago. With the manning in the Air Force being the smallest it has been since it s inception in 1947, the senior leaders want to ensure they are promoting the best performers (Harper, 2014). Since military leaders can give orders that could mean an individuals death and is a hierarchy, it is very important that a leader be the most qualified person in technical and leadership ability. The Air Force uses the Weighted Airmen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Medicine and Doctors in Final Cut by Atul Gawande The main theme of Final Cut by Atul Gawande is that medicine is an inexact science and doctors are not always sure of themselves, even if they appear confident. Gawande s main argument is simply stated: there has been a decline in the amount of autopsies performed in the medical field as a result of medical arrogance; over confident doctors believe they know the cause of death and do not want to perform autopsies. Gawande illustrates his argumentby outlining the history of autopsy use in medicine, incorporating medical cases that he has experienced as a surgeon, and including statistics on autopsy usage. Final Cut is an outstanding profile on the decline of autopsy use in medicine. What makes Final Cut an enjoyable and informative article for all readers is its use of strategies associated with fiction such as the establishment of characters, balance between medical information and personal experience, and its use of active voice. It is evident throughout Final Cut that Gawande is an author who draws on and adapts elements of fiction such as the establishment of characters and the creation of tension and suspense within his journalism. By incorporating medical cases he has experienced as a surgeon, Gawande is able to establish many characters that the reader develops an emotional connection with. This emotional connection develops because readers are provided with just enough information about the characters to individualize them, allowing readers to care about ... • 4. The Theory Of Evolution And Adaptation There are three major refutations against the design argument, first she designs argument is faulted for its weak analogy between the natural objects and the objects that that is known to have a creator such as buildings. This is the equivalent of comparing apples to oranges. For the second refutation the design argumentclaims that everything has a perfect design, this simply isn t the case. For example, we can examine the issues of starvation within the United States, although the world is structured to perfectly provide food for humans, there still people starving because of imperfect circumstances such as the inability to transport food to those who can`t receive it themselves (Tombs 7). The strongest and most accepted argument against the design argument is the theory of evolution and adaptation. Those who support the theory of evolution and adaptation credits the perfect design of the aspects to those two concepts. Artic Fish are an example of this adaption, they have developed a protein in their blood that prevent their blood from freezing which allows them continue their metabolic functions (Lloyd 2). The finally argument against the design theory states that even if the premise of the argument is true, its doesn t necessarily confirm the existenceof God. The third argument of the existence of Godis the ontological argument. Unlike the cosmological and the design arguments the ontological argument does not attempt to seek evidence with in our physical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Apple has evolved over the years and has begun implementing educational applications and software into their products and digital store. Allowing students to be exposed to modern technology at an early age will only benefit them in their future career paths. iPads in the classroom has spread across the country like wild fire. Huckleberry Finn American Experience Essay The Flight to Freedom Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves , left the mouth of the once prominent advocate for the abolishment of slavery, former president of the United States, and revolution pioneer, Abraham Lincoln, in his quest for the independence of slaves throughout the nation. Mark Twain s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn expresses the American experience and captures the same idea of acquiring freedom, both physical and mental escape, through the characters Huckleberry Finn and Jim, who both physically escape their dangerous and threatening living arrangements, and the raft that aides Huckleberry and Jim in their quest and exploration of themselves and a new life. The concept of the American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This coincides with the idea of an American experience for Huck as he is considered hip and daring for leaving town and his stagnant lifestyle in pursuit something greater, something new, something that young adults like him would not have considered during that time. As he escapes without direction Huck encounters Jim, a slave who has also fled his captivity in pursuit of liberation. Huck befriends the slave and the two venture down the Mississippi River, embarking on a journey in which they face violence, distress and episodes of lost hope. A large change that we the readers view during the time Huck and Jim spent together on the river, is Huck s perception of slavery. After conversing with and getting to know Jim, his values, beliefs and dreams, Huck begins to truly believe that slaves like Jim are not as society paints them to be, that they too are humans with feelings and deserve rights equal to a white man. It is through Huck s change of heart and development of character that Twain suggests a new way of thinking for future generations of Americans, as they experience more places, people and cultures. Twain also employs the character Jim to convey the American experience , despite him falling short of many opportunities that free, white Americans were able to have during this time. ... • 10. Nicholas II And Rasputin s Role In Imperial Russia During... During World War I Nicholas II assumed supreme command of the Russian Army in September 1915. Nicholas II s personal expectation of command grew out of one of the critical weaknesses of his reign: his own incompetence as a ruler and as an individual. In addition to his naive belief that he shared a personal communion with the Russian people, he ruled over a political system that could not function without his immediate presence. This fact was not merely perceived in hindsight. When the Emperor announced his decision to his cabinet, ten of the twelve ministers of state objected and tried to convince him to reconsider. Aerial reconnaissance, so vital given the vast distances and rapid pace of operations on the Eastern Front, was nearly impossible. Cavalry could no longer perform this traditional function rapidly enough. • 11. The Oven Room Analysis My first reason for thinking the drawings best think the drawings depict the Holocaust experience, because in the first portrayal The Oven Room by David Olere it shows people are carrying others in a cot to be cauterized. This depicts the Holocaust experience because in fact millions of Jews were killed and burned. They were put into the burners by their own people. And it is not just a few carcasses it s hundreds upon hundreds. And it also shows what happened in this man s everyday life in Auschwitz. My second claim is for the drawing also by David Olere called Birkenau. • 13. King Leopold II Of Belgium Colonized The Congo King Leopold II of Belgium colonized the African country of Congo with the help of American explorer Henry Stanley. Leopold desperately wanted the Congo to expand his small territory and to secure his place in the world. To do this, he sent Stanley to gain treaties from tribe leaders in the Congo River basin, from 1875 to 1884. Stanley succeeded in obtaining signatures through a combination of trickery and force. Ever since then, the Congo was dealt a low blow by invidious, violent takeovers. Leopold s ruthless reign lasted from 1885 to 1908, and then the Belgian government took over for nearly five decades. According to a report from the World Bank in 2015, the Congo is among the poorest countries in the world. In contrast, a Congolese refugee of the Casement Report released in 1904 informed of the brutality their family were subject to by Belgian soldiers. They recounted that We had to go further and further into the forest... without food... we starved....leopards killed some of us... and others got lost or died from exposure and starvation... soldiers said: Go! You are only beasts yourselves. Additionally, another refugee from the same report disclosed that troops would often kill the Congolese for the sake of rubber. Once, a soldier, pointing to a basket, said... look, only two hands! That s nothing... I brought the white man 160 hands. The hands the soldier was referring to were those of the Congolese workers who labored in dangerous forests to find rubber. Indigenous people were denied sustenance, had their hands cut off for amusement, or were shot, at the whims of Belgian soldiers. The meager wages paid to the Congolese could not be collected while the worker was recovering from injury, which forced greater poverty to befall the people of Congo in the long run. When the injury was permanent, such as a severed limb, families lost the little income they had. As a result, many starved to death. This poverty was then handed down to further generations, creating a ripple effect that can still be felt today. Over half a century later, Congo is an acutely poor nation. This is the culmination of violence the Congolese faced during colonization. Without the cruelness of the Belgian colonists, families would have enough money to buy proper nutrition for themselves, and many more people would survive. Therefore, the end result of poverty in modern day Congo is a direct consequence of the savagery inflicted upon the indigenous people during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Works Of Anonymous Street Artist This paper will explore a form of modern day propaganda which is quite controversial, that of the works of anonymous street artist by the name of Banksy. Banksy uses the sides of buildings, streets and bridges as a blank canvas as a social commentary against political issues. Chapter 1 will argue how Banksy s street artis a form of visual culture and propagandaby defining propaganda and comparing his works to previous examples of visual manipulation in history, such as pro war posters during World War I and II. Chapter 2 will further explore the nature and intention of the artist, focusing on the content of his work as well as the political, social and religious context they display. Furthermore, chapter 3 will focus on the public reception Banksy s works have received, both positive and negative and how the debate between his work going against typical forms of visual persuasion is successful and impactful. The concept of propaganda is difficult to put into a simplified definition as it is quite complex and involves many factors. As a result, many historians and theorists have developed their own definitions of this concept. In 1948, American researcher Leonard Doob defined propaganda as the attempt to affect the personalities and to control the behaviour of individuals towards desired ends (Glander Timothy, 2000). • 16. Argumentative Essay On Human Cloning Human cloning is threatening our society. Yes it has benefits but with these benefits there s a risk. First and foremost i disagree with cloning because, it hasn t developed yet and it can take a lot of tries before getting a human being to this earth. On the other hand, animals have been cloned since the beginning of this technology. They have a 70% chance of being born safely but that is not the same for humans the percentage to clone a human is 20% to 40% which is not even past birth. There has been a lot of failure on cloningbut maybe one day it will be perfected. But over the years cloning has increased at a more stable rate. This new cloning technology can really wrong because, you re basically make a robot just in a human form factor. One good thing about cloning is that they can clone certain organ cells and damaged tissue. But to do something like that it s 50,000 dollars which only certain people can afford. That s why is not extremely common to hear someone say that they have cloned a tissue or an organ. However cloning is not cheap it s expensive but is it worth it? Favorably, it all depends on what you would like to clone and does it have a value to your day to day life. Supposing that you want to clone your dog or cat the estimated price is from 25,000 thousand dollars and it can reach higher pricing. People who have the money to do these sort of things must have been with that pet for a long time and that pet means a lot to them. However when you re cloning a pet yes they are going to have the same characteristics as the one who passed away. Although it won t feel the same as having your original pet. In my opinion people are doing this because it s an outlet for them to forget how their pet and pretend like it s still there with them. Part of these people don t even think on what they are doing because they are so inlove with their animals. They should really think about cloning pets and them make a decision. But if it means a lot to them then they should do it at there own risk. Know in an article named What happened to cloning? The purpose of roving wiretaps is to maintain the monitoring of a target no matter what. For example if a target attempts to defeat surveillance by throwing away a phone and acquiring a new one, by moving, or by any other methods, another surveillance order would usually need to be applied for. However, a roving wiretap follows the target, and defeats the target s attempts at breaking the surveillance by changing location or their communications technology[footnoteRef:14] . In which I must say I do agree with roving wiretaps only for targets that actually do pose a threat to society. The paranoia of her perfect parenting techniques leads to the tainting of Donny s innocence over time and eventually his mysterious disappearance at the end of the story. Through symbols of innocence and corruption, Tyler demonstrates the importance of keeping one s head clear and focused while parenting, and that using common sense and logic is far more effective than relying on idealism and hope. The description of the face as endearing and fine featured implies that Daisy believes her son still has his innocence or perfection. The fact that the dark hair hangs around his face suggests (in Daisy s eyes) that Donny s out of control behavior only masks his true purity and innocence. In return, Daisy feels that her son still has the ability to be saved. The change in Donny s innocence, and his mother s idea that the perfect child exists, is directly correlated to Daisy s view on parenting throughout the story. It is Daisy s view on parenting that causes her to turn to Cal as a tutor for Donny in the hopes that he has all the answers. At Cal s house, Donny and the other teenagers are drawn to the the basketball court. Basketballs are a reoccurring symbol throughout the story. Gothic literature has the tendency to portray women as one of two archetypes; the predator or the victim . The first is often shown to be the temptress of the story, ethereal and deadly; she helps portray the pain/pleasure paradox that has come to be synonymous with Gothic literature. • 37. Turbinado Sugar Vs. Brown Sugar Turbinado sugar is a brown sugar, technically speaking; however, it is not the same product as brown sugar. If you are trying to decide which to use and especially if you plan to replace one with the other, you will want to learn what factors make each of them unique. The Turbinado Sugar vs. Brown Sugar SPICEography Showdown below can help you to make an educated decision. How do turbinado sugar and brown sugar differ? To understand how these sugars differ, we first have to look at how each of them is made. Turbinado sugar is similar to what is called Demerara sugar in Britain in that it is a raw sugar. It is also marketed as Sugar in the Raw in the US. It is a minimally processed sugar that has been spun in a centrifuge to get rid of most of the natural molasses but not all of it. Brown sugar is sugar that has been processed to remove all of the molasses content to make it into white sugar. At that point, molasses gets added back to the white sugar to make it brown again. Adding the molasses after processing ensures a consistent, pure product. In both cases, it is the molasses that provides the color of the sugar. The main difference is in how much of it there is in the final product. In the case of turbinado sugar, it provides a yellow tint that is paler than brown sugar.... Ebola first appeared on July 27, 1976, the very first person to contract the Ebola virus began to show symptoms. Ten days later he was dead. The latter was in a village situated near the EbolaRiver, from which the disease takes its name., with a total of 602 reported cases and 431 deaths. The first victim to contract Ebola was a cotton factory worker from Nzara, Sudan. Soon after this first man came down with symptoms, so did his co worker. Then the co worker s wife became sick. The outbreak quickly spread to the Sudanese town of Maridi, where there was a hospital. Since no one in the medical field had ever seen this illness before, it took them awhile to realize that it was passed by close contact. By the time the outbreak had subsided in the Sudan, 284 people had become ill, 151 of whom had died. On September 1, 1976, another, even more deadly, outbreak of Ebola struck this time in Zaire. The first victim of this outbreak was a 44 year old teacher who had just returned from a tour of northern Zaire. After suffering from symptoms that seemed like malaria, this first victim went to the Yambuku Mission Hospital and received a shot of an anti malarial drug. It is through the process of exploration, creation and invention that theories are applied, ideas are tested and knowledge is synthesized. Much of what discussed in the paper is to have an understanding of gases in the atmosphere, factors that affect the properties of these gases and so the laws of gases which help to do so. Now why do we need to study these laws? Because gases compose our atmosphere. These are responsible for the process without which no one can survive i.e. breathing. Atmosphere is a gaseous envelope surrounding the earth. It is made up of a combination of water ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most important things about gases is that, despite wide differences in chemical properties, all the gases more or less obey the gas laws. The gas laws deal with how gases behave with respect to pressure, temperature, volume and amount. This uniformity of physical behavior was of great interest with early scientists. It is one of the dogmas of scientists that the behavior of a material is a reflection of the particles that make up the substance. In other words, differences between solids, liquids and gases reflect the movement of the small particles that compose all matter. This assumption is part of the Kinetic Theory Of Gases (Kinetic is from the Greek word for motion). Historically, the description of the gas properties has been summarized by the mathematical equations describing the relationships between the gas volume, pressure and temperature. These equations, named after the scientist who first demonstrated their validity, have been labeled the gas laws. These gas laws are best understood within the framework described as the kinetic theory of gases: Gases are composed of molecules. These molecules are in constant motion. This is why gases mix to uniformity and fill all portions of the containment vessel. Molecules of the gas collide frequently with each other and with the walls of the containment vessel. Under ordinary circumstances, the distance between the gas molecules is far greater than the size of the individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While all the other cubes of potato had larger increases in mass at face value compared to the smallest cube, the smallest cube had the largest overall gain in percentage. This anonymous quote is a direct reference to the issue of pollution, and the ramifications and effects it has on plants and the cycle of photosynthesis. Pollution not only directly effect plants and the cycle of photosynthesis, but pollution can also indirectly harm other elements that contribute to the life of a plant and the cycles it performs. Photosynthesis is the cycle in which light energy converts carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen by ways of a chemical reaction (Robinson 2015). Photosynthesis , overall a fairly simple process, has couple complex reactions. To fully understand the cycle, it should be broken down into two simple stages. These stages can be divided up into light reactions and the Calvin Cycle. In the first step of photosynthesis, the light reaction, solar energy is converted into the form of chemical energy. This entails the chlorophyll absorbing light from the sun and transforming it into NADP+ (nicotin amide ademine dinucleotide phosphate) and ATP, through means of a chemical reaction. During the second stage, the Calvin cycle, the plant takes in CO2, and processes it through the chloroplast. Following it converts the carbons into carbohydrates by adding electrons using chemical energy such as ATP. The end result of this stage is sugar and oxygen. The process of photosynthesis occurs primarily in the chlorophyll of the leaf. The leaf also has a structural ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
