- 1. MEDICAL- SURGICAL 2 Syllabus Course Description: Medical-Surgical Nursing 2 provides an understanding of the nurse’s role in health and illness within evolving practice environments and across the spectrum of health and illness. This course will address nursing care issues from a physiological, pathophysiological, and psychosocial context. Nursing students will be presented with up-to-date knowledge which will allow them to think critically, creatively, and compassionately.
