Integrative Counselling Techniques
How to incorporate techniques from various approaches in counselling practice Integrative
counselling is its flexible and focus on the whole of an individual and is tailored to meet a variety of
needs and concerns. It can be particularly beneficial for those who want to overcome negative patterns
which can affect the four dimensions of human functioning affective, behavioural, cognitive, and
physiological systems. If an integrative therapist is helping a client that has behavioural problems,
they may want to apply cognitive behavioural techniques to help the client establish some control over
their functioning before employing psychoanalytic techniques that recall childhood experiences and
interpretation, dream analysis or analysis of

Benefit Of Modern Technology
Jacques Ellul once quoted, Modern technology has become a total phenomenon for civilization, the
defining force of a new social order in which an efficiency is no longer an option but a necessity
imposed on all human activity. How many lives have been saved since the technology for health
situations was invented? This question should give a general idea of how important and different lives
would be without the use of technology. Mechanization has changed and improved throughout these
past years, which has impacted many of society s lives . Modern technology is beneficial to save many
lives, improve education, but could be harmful to the planet and on the living in many ways.
One of the benefits of why technology is important is for the machines that save lives when there are
accidents, or when someone has some type of medical problem who has to be rushed immediately to a
local hospital for immediate care. Local hospitals and clinics already have the electronic devices set
up for anyone in need. With this being said, there are high chances of when people need urgent
medical attention, and could be cured right away. The impact of mechanization for medical care
involves a couple main areas which include: the jobs with health care, global economy, and aspect of
human life. On the other hand, several machines have very high electronic waves, which are too
powerful for humans, that lead to deadly situations. There was one case where a patient had went to a
local hospital with

Fog In Charles Dickens
Charles Dickens diplomatically uses symbolism throughout the novel to portend upcoming conflicts.
The horses with drooping heads and tremulous tails (16) struggled to march up the harsh conditions of
the lofty hill. The horses embodies King Louis XIV, Queen Marie Antoinette, and aristocrats of
France. The rulers and aristocrats eventually face death due to the dissatisfaction of the people about
the dying economy. The horses drooping heads epitomizes the King, Queen, and the aristocrats heads
under the guillotine, which leads to their appalling death. As the passengers of the carriage, along with
the horses, trudged up the the precipitous hill, they had to walk through a curtain of fog that was
enough to shut out everything from the light (16). The fog best exemplifies the unpredictable future of
the aristocrats because they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the passengers and company hiked up the steep hill, they mashed their way through the thick mud
(16). The thick mud prefigures the difficulties and conflicts the aristocrats have to face in the end for
ignoring the suffering and poverty of the people around them. The story takes place on a Friday night
in November, one thousand seven hundred and seventy five (17). Dickens chose a night in November
because the month has more dark and gloomy weather and color during the day than luminous and
radiant. The month s gloom and darkness foreshadows the many deaths of the aristocrats and the
depression feeling of the lower class. On the Friday night of November, the passengers were
lumbering up Shooter s hill (17) to get the the Dover Mail. Shooter s hill is steep, muddy, and
sufficient with many obstacles. The hill presages the tough obstacles the upper class will encounter
because of their money and arrogance towards the lower class. The setting is a strategy used by the
author to foretell future events and and set a

Industrialization Essay
Industrialization
As George Donelson Moss, author of America in the twentieth century states it; modern America
emerged during the last thirty years of the nineteenth century. With most of the century consisting of
farmers and smaller towns and country like living, the later parts of the century brought
industrialization and businesses. This changes forced Americans to view and live life differently. Of
the important elements that influenced America in the nineteenth century, industrialization and
immigration are the most significant. Industry flourished in the 1800 s causing changes to America s
every aspect of life. Manufacturing also increased during this time due to the many advancements and
new inventions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
during the 1860 s. America became the number one steel manufacturer in the year of 1880. The
petroleum industry grew in the 1860 s also. Kerosene, used to bring light to houses after nightfall,
became its most important product. John D. Rockefeller, who headed the Standard Oil Company,
became the nation s first billionaire with his involvement in this industry. Alexander Graham Bell s
invention of the telephone in 1876 created another huge industry in the nineteenth century. From the
1880 s until the end of the century, Americans were using over 800,000 telephones. This aided in
communication across the U.S. Another famous inventor, Thomas Edison, also helped the
industrialization of the late 1800 s by improving telephonic transmissions and the electric light bulb.
He built the first power station in 1882 that supplied customers the electric current for lighting. With
the industries and businesses flourishing, a big problem with urban development arose. With new
industries, workers and their families would flood the surrounding city looking for jobs and places to
live. This rapid expansion of people and cities caused many unfavorable results. The workers were
forced to live in cramped and crowded housing. Problems arose with this lifestyle including the
spreading of diseases, an increased crime rate, psychological stress and juvenile delinquency. These
slums also caused problems such as decreased water

Role Of Engineers During The Planning Process
1. Introduction
Peace Bridge is a cycle footpath bridge across the River Foyle in Derry, Ireland. It connected the
Walled city centre and the Ebrington redevelopment site. The bridge opened to the public in 25 June
2011.
Peace Bridge won many excellence awards such as Structural Steel Design award, ICE North East
Region Robert Stephenson award and the Overall planning award by the Irish Planning Institute. The
government and the public have described the bridge as a sustainable infrastructure asset, which
provided the basic services, and allowed the local communities and societies to function more
effectively. More importantly, Peace Bridge became a landmark very quickly due to its iconic
structure, which attracts millions of visitors every year.
This essay will mainly focus on the roles of engineers during the planning process. The relation
between engineers and the associated Ecological, Economical, Political and regeneration aspects will
also be discussed.
2. Overview of Peace Bridge
Structure of the Bridge
The bridge is a self anchored suspension bridge. It combined the reverse curvature of the deck,
inclined towers and suspension cables to balance the forces in the system. The total length of cable
used was 4.5 kilometers. The use of construction material was mainly steel, and the structure weights
1000 tonnes. There is a 150mm gap at each end of the bridge to permit the expansion of steel during
the summer.

Cissexism-Prejudice Against Heterosexuality
These is how I define these three words with an example for each in social work practice
A. Heteronormativity A man and woman born at birth. The norm of gender female and male at birth.
Heterosexual role only. Marriage only between a man and woman. Two distinct gender. The model
and role that each gender should play.
One example of this in the social work practice is working with a family heterosexual where there is a
father, mother and children in were this is the nuclear family or the norm.
B. Heterosexism This is when heterosexuality is the correct norm or the only sex orientation. System
of attitudes or beliefs
An example of this in the social work practice is having the understanding that as social worker we

Optimism Conservation Biology
I believe that optimism is absolutely necessary in the field of conservation biology. The public needs
to be educated on how to protect the planet, all while knowing that what they are doing is making a
difference. Through optimism, people have a greater ability to imagine a positive outcome. With the
idea that the individual can make a difference, the public can be motivated to reduce their material
consumption or volunteer their time to a conservation effort.
Similarly, I believe that conservation biology is a difficult field since it is considered a crisis
discipline. The name is very pessimistic, in and of itself. There are so many people that are very
negative about the future of our planet, and they are rightfully upset. Humans have caused ... Show

Children have such an imagination and an eagerness to learn, and I think that hands on environmental
classes have the potential to work wonders on children. Children also are more accepting to new ideas
and processes, so they have a higher chance of absorbing more important information from these
hands on classes. I think that more practical classes should be used for adults. Adults have less time in
the day to spend on learning new information so the input that they receive should be extremely to the
point and easy to understand. I also believe that adults lack the motivation that children have,
especially when it comes to education and breaking old habits. P. Wesley Shultz wrote, information
coupled with motivation can induce change (1080). When motivation is used to teach new
information, real changes can be seen. In regards to synthetic biology, I think any new advances in
conservation biology should be considered. Conservation biology needs rapid responses to problems
created by humans. There have been many instances where a species has gone instinct, only because
humans have destroyed the original DNA through crossbreeding and other conservation efforts.
Humans have done so much to destroy the environment, so if we have a chance to help reverse some
of our harmful affects, then conservation biologists should take

Examples Of Foreshadowing In The Landlady By Roald Dahl
Foreshadowing, as defined, are clues that hint at future events of the story. These clues, or
foreshadowing, can lead to what the audience may call, suspense (anxiousness or excitement caused
by anticipation), and this happens because foreshadowing allows the reader to infer or predict what
happens next, and this can make the story more immersive and can allow the reader to anticipate what
happens next, and so, this anticipation can causes excitement or anxiousness, aka suspense. This
practice of foreshadowing causing suspense was displayed in the story, The Landlady by Roald Dahl.
The story is about a young man, Billy, who stays in a Bed and Breakfast run by a peculiar and dotty
lady, who acts and says a lot of weird and quirky actions and statements, and Billy s reactions to those
various statements and actions. Throughout the story, Roald Dahl foreshadows future events in the ...

BED AND BREAKFAST, it said. This creates suspense and curiosity for the reader, as Billy is
affected uniquely by the sign, and it makes the reader curious and anticipate what will happen to Billy
because of this weird affection given by the sign, and this is foreshadowing. This is foreshadowing, as
it foreshadows the weird action the sign forces Billy to do, which is knock on the door of the Bed and
Breakfast, as at first he wasn t going to do that, but then the sign compelled him otherwise. So, this
weird affection from the sign gives us the ability to foreshadow and anticipate the effects this weird
affection may have on Billy s decisions in the future of the story, which was knocking on the door of

Ruby Mines, please come to the office. A voice said over the intercom. Even though Ruby was my
best friend, I wasn t worried. Calls down to the office are just usually minor things. That s what I
thought. But, as I was about to discover, they could also be major.
Ruby ran up to me after school that day with her face creased with worry. She explained that she was
suspected of stealing the 7th grade student files, a crime that was committed a day earlier. I knew she
never did it. She said that Lexi Marker, a girl in our grade was the one that turned her in. Lexi was a
very popular girl, but loved attention (too much), and so probably just wanted to put the spotlight on
her. I really didn t want to have to be involved in a mystery, they re ... Show more content on

Ascent Of Money
In his latest work, The Ascent of Money, Niall Ferguson goes to great lengths to convince the reader
that finance is the foundation of human progress. Ferguson starts with an attempt to answer the
questions; what is money, how is it used, and how has it evolved over time? He argues that the
evolution of credit and debt is as important as technological innovation. The specific interest to
military leaders is how money, or the lack there of, played pivotal roles throughout history. Money to
generals is the sinews of war .1 Niall Ferguson is well qualified to discuss this as a renowned British
historian and professor of history at Harvard University. He is a bestselling author who has published
numerous books on historical topics. Niall progresses

Dangers Of Environmental Pollution
For many years scientists, along with concerned patrons, have been contemplating climate change and
what dangers it presents to human kind. Climate change refers to the variation in normal weather
patterns caused due to pollution. Environmental pollution refers to the contamination of ecosystem
and the surrounding atmosphere by different forms of pollutants (Chemicals and energies)
(omcis.org). Environmental pollution and climate is becoming a more substantial concern worldwide
as the years go on. Numerous studies have been ran throughout the years showing statistical reasoning
behind the environmental changes. Environmentalists debate about what the leading cause is and what
we are able to do to stop such turmoil.
The threat of global climate change has been a cloud of smog, lingering for quite some time. Global
warming is the increase of earth s normal surface temperature due to impact of greenhouse gases
(omics.org). We are threatening our own kind with our reckless lifestyle towards our environment. As
the world urbanizes and industrializes, and as effects of climate change intensify, environmental crises
will increasingly devastate the lives, health, and livelihoods of people around the globe (Human
Rights Watch). We as human beings need oxygen released from trees in order to breathe. Nature, on
the other hand needs the carbon dioxide that we exhale. Keeping this cycle continuous is key to
survival for both variants. With the introduction of particulates,

Victimization In Surfacing Atwood
In the canon of postcolonial writers, Atwood is a troublesome figure. Despite her notable search for an
understanding of Canada that is not first mediated by an English or American aesthetic. Atwood s
novels are examined in a cultural context in this study, which explores the victimization of women.
Victimization includes anything that affects women s survival, specifically, victimization through
physical, psychological, and economic manipulation. Atwood s novels show how society sustains
victimization by holding power over women. The protagonists of Atwood s novels are not satisfied
with their lives, and as they explore the reasons for their discontent, come to realize that they are
victims of social, economic, and political discrimination. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Here, the postcolonial reality is experienced as a mild but insistent inferiority complex, a sense of
internalised alienation. However, in Surfacing Atwood addressed the pressures of America s cultural
colonisation of Canada, and in an interview she expanded: it s impossible to talk about Canadian
literature without also talking about the fact that Canada s an economic and cultural colony . This
broader view of colonialism encompasses various manifestations of national domination and
suppression, and for Atwood, Canada s marginal position in terms of political and economic power
places her, as its citizen, as a marginal, colonial, and postcolonial subject.
Atwood postcolonial voice has a power, largely connected to its white, First World status, which

The Fight For Identity
Identity is something that everyone has and wants to be able to express. It shows your cultures, your
beliefs, your religion, and even your hobbies. In history, slaves have risked their lives escaping from
the people who shut down their self perception, just to get their identity back. Currently, there are
marches happening all over the world that are protesting for people to be able to express who they are;
like the LGBTQ Marches and the Women s Marches. Identity has been riskily fought for in the past,
and in the present. Therefore, it is incredibly important to fight for.
Historically, in the time before the Underground Railroad, African American slaves were devastated in
their living condition. They wanted to be able to express their identity and celebrate their culture, but
this was not allowed. They snuck out of their atrocious life and traveled a disastrous distance just to
get to a new, accepting home. The poor slaves were later welcomed into new places where their
distinctiveness could be expressed and cherished. Overall, the slaves gave up everything, even risked
their lives, just so they could regain their identity. This shows that identity is worth fighting for
because it represents who you are and people want to be able to express that. ... Show more content on

The Effective Use of Symblism in The Scarlett Letter by...
The Effective Use of Symblism in The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
The novel, The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne is an intriguing account of a Puritan
community that experiences a breakdown in beliefs. The story deals with a woman, Hester, who
commits adultery with a Calvinistic minister resulting in the birth of a child (Martin 110). As
compensation for her crime of passion and her refusal to name her lover, Hester is sentenced to wear
an embroidered scarlet letter on her bosom. It is this letter, or secret sin, that becomes the emphasis of
the novel and assumes many different roles (Martin 111). Hawthorne starts the novel by portraying the

The Puritans are firmly against Hester s actions and feels that she has disgraced them along with
herself. They feel that she must take responsibility for her actions. The effect of her punishment
however is not what the Puritans had hoped to achieve. Hester s sin has grown from that of passion to
one of purpose. Even with Hester s sympathetic attitude, she was not filled with regret and therefore
the letter had not done its task (Martin 122). To the Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale, the scarlet letter
contains a whole new meaning. He views the letter as a constant reminder of his sin and cowardice.
His guilt continues to grow as a result of his not being able to come forth in front of the community
and take responsibility for his actions. His guilt and sin become magnified by his inability to stand
beside Hester at the scaffold. Dimmesdale, also is ironically charged with questioning Hester and
trying to convince her of the importance of identifying her fellow sinner (Hawthorne 52). He begins to
feel more and more grief and it begins to affect his mental and physical state. He soon becomes weak;
however, it is believed by the community to be because of his too unreserved self sacrifice to the
labors and duties of the pastoral relation (Hawthorne 80). When Dimmesdale is believed to be near
death, the community again believes it is because the world was not worthy to be any longer trodden
by his feet (Hawthorne 88). Dimmesdale seems to be haunted by

The Philosophy Of Moral Philosophy
Moral Philosophy is rooted in four areas of standards, one of which is the central focus of Hedonist
thinking. The standard of moral philosophy that corresponds directly to Hedonism is known as the
Value Theory. The Value Theory establishes what is valuable in and of itself, what is worth pursuing
for its own sake 1. Goods that are valuable in their own right are intrinsic values, as referred to in the
previous sentence. Contrary to intrinsic values, instrumental goods have the ability to lead to valuable
things, but don t themselves hold significant value.
Hedonism, at its core, is centered around the pursuit of pleasure and the elimination of pain.
Consequently, when this balance obtained, Hedonist s will argue that an individual is leading a
tranquil life. Above all else, Hedonist philosophers John Stewart Mill and Epicurus, place pleasure on
a pedestal, in the way that pleasure stands alone when considering what is good in its own right.
Furthermore, they provide their insights on goes into the moral doctrine of Hedonism. The ultimate
good , according to the Hedonist school of thought, is always pleasure, however, this is not a united
stance by all philosophers 2. Opponents to Hedonist thinking, include Jean Kazez, Robert Nozick, and
Chris Heathwood. I argue that pleasure is not the only intrinsic good, rather it is one among many
other goods that hold intrinsic value. To assert my position, I will first discuss Epicurus and Mill s

Similarities Between The Hobbit And The Sword In The Stone
Final Essay
In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit, writes J.R.R. Tolkien. Within Tolkien s famous novel The
Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, thirteen dwarves, and a wizard named Gandalf embark on a journey to reclaim
the dwarves long forgotten gold. Although the story seems to be completely original and made of fresh
ideas, it is actually influenced by previous literature, like other common novels. Many legends of King
Arthur, with unknown authors, influenced J.R.R. Tolkien s The Hobbit. Several points and ideas in the
Arthurian story The Sword in the Stone are also reflected in The Hobbit. One theme in this story is
that one shouldn t have a bias towards who can do something and who cannot. For instance, in The
Hobbit, the dwarves believe that Bilbo can t be a good burglar and help them with their task because
he is a hobbit. When Bilbo had attempted to steal something that could ve saved them, Bombur said,
Silly time to practice pinching and go pocket picking, (Tolkien 41) although Bilbo ... Show more

In both of these stories, it begins with all parties being merry. In the first tale, it is the dwarves who are
merry, because they are giddy at the thought of regaining their gold. In the Arthurian tale, they are
joyous because it is Christmastime. In both fantasy tales, the hero is always expected to defeat the
largest foe. In The Hobbit, the hero s trouble is that no one wanted to defeat Smaug. In Sir Gawain and
the Green Knight, the problem is that none of the knights wanted to stand up and face the Green
Knight. One last similarity is that because of being chivalrous, nothing horrible happened to the hero
in the end. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Gawain faced three testing temptations, but still

Precambrian Boundary Essay
The Precambrian boundary today remains a highly controversial topic despite the continuous research
and pressures being put on understanding the early Cambrian evolution. Radioactive dating has seen a
dramatic advancement as well as continuous progress in chemo , bio , and magneto stratigraphy.
Laminated stromatolites prevail in the Precambrian fossil date as well as a completely new perception
on ancient life being understood due to the sequence of the chronostratigraphic period.
Biosedimentary structures which occur and form by the permineralisation of unicellular organisms are
an indicator of the Precambrian Cambrian boundary, and are found outside a dated period. This has
created a completely different understanding and view of fossils ... Show more content on

(1987), the Precambrian Cambrian boundary is located in between Ediacaran Fauna, which is found
somewhere between 620 700 million years ago and trilobites, such as the fallotospid group. This
creates a period ranging between 30 50 million years in which we can define the Precambrian
Cambrian boundary, making it difficult to determine an accurate timeframe (Morris, 1987).
Biomineralization is seen as another key indicator of the Precambrian Cambrian boundary, this has
recently been identified as occurring around 570 million years ago. Kerr (1993) addresses the recent
understanding of the Cambrian explosion, which is believed to have occurred simultaneously with the
presence of hard skeletal parts. Globally, it is seen that Ediacaran Fauna has been well preserved
despite being soft bodied. This has given a good understanding on metazoan evolution (Morris, 1987).
Evolution rates of metazoan started to become evaluated with higher precision geochronology.
Ultimately, this resulted in a better understanding of Ediacaran Fauna, leading to the belief that the
lack of Ediacaran Fauna during the Cambrian, compared to its presence in the Precambrian was due to
its continuous evolution, rather than the sudden disappearance due to an event (Bowring and Erwin,

What Does It Mean To Say Boom Goes The Dynamite
Boom goes the dynamite is a popular saying. Some people like me wanted to go a little deeper and
ask, who made dynamite and what makes dynamite go boom? Well i have the answer for both of the
questions and the answers are ascanio sobrero and nitroglycerin.
Our first run over is what is nitroglycerin? Nitroglycerin or nitro (NG) is a heavy, colorless, oily,
Explosive liquid. Chemically, the substance is an organic nitrate compound rather than a nitro
compound. Since the 1880 s, nitro or (NG)/nitroglycerin, has been used in the military as a solid
propellant. You may know a solid propellants main use which is to propel a bullet. What made nitro so
popular was its use to make a smokeless explosive unlike the beginning guns that when you fired,

Operational Code Of Culture Essay
Culture is an operational code shared by members of a particular society, a system of shared beliefs,
values, customs, behaviors, and artifacts that members of society use to cope with their world and with
one another. Members of a society share their culture; there is no culture of one , it is learned through
a process called enculturation, and changeable through social interactions between people and groups.
Culture is patterned, meaning that people in a society live and think in ways forming definite,
repeating patterns. The Arab Republic of Egypt is located within the Sahara Desert, in the northeast
corner of Africa, west of the red sea and south of the Mediterranean Sea, the country is slightly larger
than three times the size of the state of New Mexico. The Red Sea Highlands run along the coast of
the sea for which they are named, it is a region of hills and rugged ... Show more content on

Analyzing Esoteric Alchemy And The Alchemist
Alchemy began in Hellenistic Egypt particularly in Alexandria. Alexandria was founded in 332 B.C,
and quickly became the heartbeat of Hellenistic cosmopolitanism. The Art itself had both exoteric and
esoteric purposes, which were centered on the transmutation of base metals into silver and gold.
Exoterically speaking it took the form of crafting matter into items of value. However, as a natural
development the material means and ends of the Art were often intermixed with the immaterial world.
Both were interdependent and intermixed with each other in various ways. Historical analyses of
exoteric and esoteric Alchemy suggest that it is impossible to fully separate the two because they are
sympathetic to each other. Simply put, whether or not the Alchemist understands esoteric immaterial
factors of the practice still have an impact. The purpose of this paper is to analyze esoteric Alchemy
and to discuss what the immaterial means and ends of the Work could have meant to the Alchemist,
and concludes that the Art was a work of crafting the soul. The approach used in this paper will first
examine Hellenistic cosmopolitanism through the idea of the supernatural, the soul, and virtue, and
then I will discuss Alchemy as understood by from and close to the Hermetic tradition.
Many Alchemists had an understanding of the natural and supernatural that parallels antique thought
as a whole. Common in the culture was a desire to understand, communicate, and develop virtue.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit Essay
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is an incentive that is profitable for companies using it
and helpful for the jobseekers that qualify for the tax credit. At the same time, it can also be a bad
incentive because companies that use the tax credits will try to target only those specific jobseekers
and will disqualify any other person. I work for a company that specializes in government tax
incentives, mainly with WOTC because it is the most popular throughout the states, but there are
many more similar to it. This tax credit allows companies and agencies to save money on their taxes
when they hire employees from nine specific groups such as long term family assistance recipients, ex
felons, qualified recipients of Supplemental Security ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To fix this issue of having companies solely hiring those that fit in the targeted groups, the program
should make a maximum amount of tax credits per company depending on the size of the company.
For example, for every 50 new employees, the maximum to qualify for the tax credit should be 25 30,
allowing the rest of the jobseekers to be considered. Another way to improve the tax credit program
and eliminating any issues, is by not focusing on the WOTC questionnaires the agencies give to
potential jobseekers. The Human Resource department should look at qualifying individuals based on
skill and knowledge. After that phase, they can see who qualify for the targeted groups, allowing a fair
chance from the beginning. My approaches will help companies have an equally biased hiring process
and not having them take advantage of receiving tax credits through this incentive. The tax credit was
created for those that have difficulty getting hired, so by using my approach it will allow for those that
don t fit in the targeted groups as well. If companies were required to have a maximum per company,
they will be forced to hire an equal amount of diversified employees and preventing

“Hitler Became Chancellor in January 1933 Because He Was...
Hitler became chancellor in January 1933 because he was the leader of the most popular party in
Germany How far do you agree with this opinion.
Hitler did not become chancellor in January 1933 because he was the leader of the most popular party
in Germany, it was however to do with the support of the elite that made him Chancellor. There were
other factors also such as the decline of the Weimar Republic and the economy but it was mainly to do
with the conservatives.
One factor that shows that the support of the elite was the reason that Hitler had become Chancellor
was the event of the Bamberg conference. It could be argued that this conference had changed the
ideology of the NSDAP and had made it more conservative. In the Bamberg ... Show more content on

The political violence in the run up to the election was the perfect excuse for the removal of the SPD
dominated Prussian government. President Hindenburg ordered the army to seize control; this resulted
in the new regime in Prussia to be an authoritarian one. This demonstrates how the destruction of thee
Weimar republic could have been the reason why Hitler had become the chancellor. However it did
not directly make Hitler the chancellor, while the support of the conservatives did. Although it does
show that Hitler did not become the chancellor due to the fact that Hitler did not become the
chancellor due to the fact that he was the leader of the most popular party.
The fear of a communist takeover could also show how it was due to the support of the conservatives
is the reason Hitler had become the chancellor. The KPD had seen its vote increase from 3.2million in
1928 to 5.9 million in November 1933. It was the Nazi s determination to reduce the communist
militia that caused conservatives to back Hitler. There were a number of influential industrialists and
bankers including Hjalmar Schacht, IG Farben and Gustav Krupp, who put pressure on Hindenburg to
appoint Hitler as chancellor. The reason behind why they had done this because they feared loosing
their wealth and power in the event of a communist takeover. This shows how the support of the
conservatives had led to Hitler to being chancellor, as it was them that pressurised Hindenburg

Memory Is A Social Phenomenon
It is been seen that memory is now ubiquitous .All of Memory has been wholly observed by its
meticulous reconstitution.. When we examine a little closely to how we recollect things in our day to
day to life, we realize that the greatest number of memories come back to us when our parents, our
neighbours, our friends or the other persons recall them to us. Differences in discourse of memory
have been understood by the remnants of experience which is still lived in the warmth of tradition, in
the silence of custom, in the repetition of ancestral which have been displaced under the pressure of a
fundamentally historical sensibility.
Memory is a social phenomena. It has become the subject of controversies among observers and
analysts. The notion of memory when it is defined, can be either understood as internal or inward
memory and external memory, or personal memory or social memory(Halbwach 1950, 52). Narratives
about the past by nations and states are not something new. When we reflect upon them , we make
many discoveries ; we discover the shape and the why of the events. (ibid: 55). But the explosion of
the memorial phenomenon by largely, is increased from the utterance of specific groups, whether
intranational or transnational groups, and from the range of scales on which the narrative of past
experience is legitimately expressed. A social group s identity is constructed with narratives and
traditions that are created to give its members a sense of an community.

This is the biggest thing II have learned not only from the plays I have read but from this entire
English class. We learn things on a parallel level with plays on one hand we learn what the play is
telling us from the dialogue the actors say. But on the other hand, we learn what the playwright was
trying to tell us. And in Oscar Wilde play the important of being earnest, there s a lesson in the story
about lying well just get you all tied up and in a bigger and deeper situation that you started, but it also
does this by poking fun and all the high and mighty aristocrats of the Victorian era. It was Saturday
night live for the Victorian era, it was it poke fun at situations we cannot always change right away.

Singapore, as well as draw the picture of its marketing environment. I will include the information
about the location, climate, population, religion and culture, official spoken languages, state of
economy and level of technologies, political and legal systems, level of competition and potential for
economic growth. In the conclusion I will highlight advantages and disadvantages of the Singapore
marketing environment. 1. Introduction Singapore is the nation of islands which is situated on the
South of Malay Peninsula. Its area is only 704,0 square kilometers, and it is the smallest country in
Southeast Asia. Its anthem is Majulah Singapura ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2.4 Languages As I have already mentioned, Singapore has four official languages: English, Tamil,
Mandarin and Malay. It was so historically formed that the official language of Singapore is Malay
and the national anthem is also written in Malay language. English is the administration language of
Singapore and it is mainly British English, but also contain some American English influences.
English remains the first language medium in schools and colleges of the country, and is also the most
widespread language in the literature. All signs and official publications are written in English, but
there are also versions translated into other official languages. But the population doesn t speak
English, but so called Singlish with Creole characteristics, Chinese dialects, and Indian and Malay
languages. 2.5 Culture To describe the culture of the country in the full extent, it is necessary to
investigate into its cuisine, media, performing arts, sports and recreation, as well as into its
architectural heritage. Singapore cuisine is the bright example of cultural diffusion and diversity of the
country, and Indian, Malay, Chinese and Tamil influences can be observed. Local people enjoy eating
mee poh, bak chor mee, sambal stringray, nasi lemak, satay and chilli crab. All kind of food is usually
served in hawker centers. Food of Singapore is very diverse and includes a lot of seafood with clams,

Climate Change Reflection
After watching the move How To Let Go and Love All The Things Climate Can t Change, my
perception of our world completely changed. With the overwhelming facts to the heartfelt stories Josh
Fox exposes viewers to the damage that is yet to come. This movie was so effective as opposed to
other climate documentaries because Fox explains the human aspects of climate change. Traveling to
twelve countries on six continents he explains how ocean warming, sea level rise, and air quality are
already negatively affecting people in their everyday lives. People don t connect with facts, people
connect with people. This is something I am realizing is critical in getting others on board with
sustainability initiatives and to re think the role we play as consumers. After graduating I want to work
as a sustainability director for a large company. At the start of my sustainability journey I am
discovering that the most essential part of a sustainability director s job is to be personable. People
will be more likely to implement change when they realize how it benefits or affects them and their
organization. Without effective communication, projects will never be funded, ideas will not be
considered, and it is less likely that your impact will be as substantial as it could. As a sustainability
advocate, it will be my job to promote and implement initiatives that will help us now, but also
generations to come will feel those effects. Josh Fox shows it is the grassroot groups and people
stepping up to protect our planet because they know it is necessary. I have developed the mindset, if
not me than who? Out of all ten of the things that climate can t change, I believe that the most
important one is resilience. As sustainability professionals, it is a fact of life that you will be told no.
But the key is moving on from that. You can not get yourself worked up just because things didn t play
out how we want. We can also not let getting told no beat us down, not everyone understands or wants
to understand the environmental catastrophes that are upon us. With this in mind, we should use
getting told no to drive us forward and work even harder on the next project we have. Resilience stood
out to me in the movie when the Samoa tribe

Introduction
This paper explains the use of economics in managerial decision making based on the simulation. It
describes decision making process of management in different market structures. The main objective
of an organization is to maximize the profits in each type of market structure. Quasar Computers has

Quasar can also control the quantity supplied and its price due to absence of competitors and
substitutes. In order to increase the awareness about the product among large corporations, $600
million was spent on advertising with appropriate pricing policy. It optimized profit for Quasar by
increasing demand and sales of the products. A price of $2,450 set for the computers produced total
profit of $2.74 billion in the year 2004. The quantity demanded increased to 7.7 million from 5.3
million. In the following year 2005, in order to maximize the profit, the decision to upgrade the
production process was taken. This increased the sales revenue and reduced the total cost for the
business (Tata Interactive Systems, n.d.). The price was also decreased to $2,200 from $2,450 per unit,
yielding a profit of $2.21 billion due to optimization of production processes. All these decisions taken
in three years, when the company enjoyed a monopolistic situation due its patent rights, maximized
the bottom line.
Oligopoly
Once the patent rights expired, the entry of Orion technologies reduced the market share of Quasar in
2006 as it captured 50% market share. It created an oligopoly market structure for the product in
which each firm acts like monopolist but at the same time, the decision of a firm affects the decision
of another. A key characteristic of an oligopoly (a highly concentrated industry) is that competitors are
mutually interdependent; a competitive move by one

  • 3. Benefit Of Modern Technology Jacques Ellul once quoted, Modern technology has become a total phenomenon for civilization, the defining force of a new social order in which an efficiency is no longer an option but a necessity imposed on all human activity. How many lives have been saved since the technology for health situations was invented? This question should give a general idea of how important and different lives would be without the use of technology. Mechanization has changed and improved throughout these past years, which has impacted many of society s lives . Modern technology is beneficial to save many lives, improve education, but could be harmful to the planet and on the living in many ways. One of the benefits of why technology is important is for the machines that save lives when there are accidents, or when someone has some type of medical problem who has to be rushed immediately to a local hospital for immediate care. Local hospitals and clinics already have the electronic devices set up for anyone in need. With this being said, there are high chances of when people need urgent medical attention, and could be cured right away. The impact of mechanization for medical care involves a couple main areas which include: the jobs with health care, global economy, and aspect of human life. On the other hand, several machines have very high electronic waves, which are too powerful for humans, that lead to deadly situations. • 4. Fog In Charles Dickens Charles Dickens diplomatically uses symbolism throughout the novel to portend upcoming conflicts. The horses with drooping heads and tremulous tails (16) struggled to march up the harsh conditions of the lofty hill. The horses embodies King Louis XIV, Queen Marie Antoinette, and aristocrats of France. The rulers and aristocrats eventually face death due to the dissatisfaction of the people about the dying economy. The horses drooping heads epitomizes the King, Queen, and the aristocrats heads under the guillotine, which leads to their appalling death. As the passengers of the carriage, along with the horses, trudged up the the precipitous hill, they had to walk through a curtain of fog that was enough to shut out everything from the light (16). The fog best exemplifies the unpredictable future of the aristocrats because they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the passengers and company hiked up the steep hill, they mashed their way through the thick mud (16). The thick mud prefigures the difficulties and conflicts the aristocrats have to face in the end for ignoring the suffering and poverty of the people around them. The story takes place on a Friday night in November, one thousand seven hundred and seventy five (17). Dickens chose a night in November because the month has more dark and gloomy weather and color during the day than luminous and radiant. The month s gloom and darkness foreshadows the many deaths of the aristocrats and the depression feeling of the lower class. On the Friday night of November, the passengers were lumbering up Shooter s hill (17) to get the the Dover Mail. Shooter s hill is steep, muddy, and sufficient with many obstacles. The hill presages the tough obstacles the upper class will encounter because of their money and arrogance towards the lower class. This changes forced Americans to view and live life differently. From the 1880 s until the end of the century, Americans were using over 800,000 telephones. He built the first power station in 1882 that supplied customers the electric current for lighting. With the industries and businesses flourishing, a big problem with urban development arose. With new industries, workers and their families would flood the surrounding city looking for jobs and places to live. This rapid expansion of people and cities caused many unfavorable results. These clues, or foreshadowing, can lead to what the audience may call, suspense (anxiousness or excitement caused by anticipation), and this happens because foreshadowing allows the reader to infer or predict what happens next, and this can make the story more immersive and can allow the reader to anticipate what happens next, and so, this anticipation can causes excitement or anxiousness, aka suspense. This practice of foreshadowing causing suspense was displayed in the story, The Landlady by Roald Dahl. The story is about a young man, Billy, who stays in a Bed and Breakfast run by a peculiar and dotty lady, who acts and says a lot of weird and quirky actions and statements, and Billy s reactions to those various statements and actions. Identity has been riskily fought for in the past, and in the present. Therefore, it is incredibly important to fight for. Historically, in the time before the Underground Railroad, African American slaves were devastated in their living condition. They wanted to be able to express their identity and celebrate their culture, but this was not allowed. They snuck out of their atrocious life and traveled a disastrous distance just to get to a new, accepting home. The poor slaves were later welcomed into new places where their distinctiveness could be expressed and cherished. The Effective Use of Symblism in The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne The novel, The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne is an intriguing account of a Puritan community that experiences a breakdown in beliefs. The story deals with a woman, Hester, who commits adultery with a Calvinistic minister resulting in the birth of a child (Martin 110). As compensation for her crime of passion and her refusal to name her lover, Hester is sentenced to wear an embroidered scarlet letter on her bosom. The Puritans are firmly against Hester s actions and feels that she has disgraced them along with herself. They feel that she must take responsibility for her actions. The effect of her punishment however is not what the Puritans had hoped to achieve. Hester s sin has grown from that of passion to one of purpose. Even with Hester s sympathetic attitude, she was not filled with regret and therefore the letter had not done its task (Martin 122). To the Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale, the scarlet letter contains a whole new meaning. He views the letter as a constant reminder of his sin and cowardice. His guilt continues to grow as a result of his not being able to come forth in front of the community and take responsibility for his actions. His guilt and sin become magnified by his inability to stand beside Hester at the scaffold. Dimmesdale, also is ironically charged with questioning Hester and trying to convince her of the importance of identifying her fellow sinner (Hawthorne 52). He begins to feel more and more grief and it begins to affect his mental and physical state. He soon becomes weak; however, it is believed by the community to be because of his too unreserved self sacrifice to the labors and duties of the pastoral relation (Hawthorne 80). The standard of moral philosophy that corresponds directly to Hedonism is known as the Value Theory. The Value Theory establishes what is valuable in and of itself, what is worth pursuing for its own sake 1. Goods that are valuable in their own right are intrinsic values, as referred to in the previous sentence. Contrary to intrinsic values, instrumental goods have the ability to lead to valuable things, but don t themselves hold significant value. Hedonism, at its core, is centered around the pursuit of pleasure and the elimination of pain. Consequently, when this balance obtained, Hedonist s will argue that an individual is leading a tranquil life. Above all else, Hedonist philosophers John Stewart Mill and Epicurus, place pleasure on a pedestal, in the way that pleasure stands alone when considering what is good in its own right. Furthermore, they provide their insights on goes into the moral doctrine of Hedonism. Within Tolkien s famous novel The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, thirteen dwarves, and a wizard named Gandalf embark on a journey to reclaim the dwarves long forgotten gold. Although the story seems to be completely original and made of fresh ideas, it is actually influenced by previous literature, like other common novels. Many legends of King Arthur, with unknown authors, influenced J.R.R. Tolkien s The Hobbit. Several points and ideas in the Arthurian story The Sword in the Stone are also reflected in The Hobbit. One theme in this story is that one shouldn t have a bias towards who can do something and who cannot. For instance, in The Hobbit, the dwarves believe that Bilbo can t be a good burglar and help them with their task because he is a hobbit. One last similarity is that because of being chivalrous, nothing horrible happened to the hero in the end. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Gawain faced three testing temptations, but still fulfilled his promise. In The Hobbit, Bilbo shows chivalry by bringing the Arkenstone to Bard and the Elvenking as his plan. Thus, The Hobbit and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Precambrian Boundary Essay The Precambrian boundary today remains a highly controversial topic despite the continuous research and pressures being put on understanding the early Cambrian evolution. Radioactive dating has seen a dramatic advancement as well as continuous progress in chemo , bio , and magneto stratigraphy. Laminated stromatolites prevail in the Precambrian fossil date as well as a completely new perception on ancient life being understood due to the sequence of the chronostratigraphic period. Biosedimentary structures which occur and form by the permineralisation of unicellular organisms are an indicator of the Precambrian Cambrian boundary, and are found outside a dated period. This has created a completely different understanding and view of fossils ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (1987), the Precambrian Cambrian boundary is located in between Ediacaran Fauna, which is found somewhere between 620 700 million years ago and trilobites, such as the fallotospid group. This creates a period ranging between 30 50 million years in which we can define the Precambrian Cambrian boundary, making it difficult to determine an accurate timeframe (Morris, 1987). Biomineralization is seen as another key indicator of the Precambrian Cambrian boundary, this has recently been identified as occurring around 570 million years ago. Kerr (1993) addresses the recent understanding of the Cambrian explosion, which is believed to have occurred simultaneously with the presence of hard skeletal parts. Globally, it is seen that Ediacaran Fauna has been well preserved despite being soft bodied. This has given a good understanding on metazoan evolution (Morris, 1987). Evolution rates of metazoan started to become evaluated with higher precision geochronology. Ultimately, this resulted in a better understanding of Ediacaran Fauna, leading to the belief that the lack of Ediacaran Fauna during the Cambrian, compared to its presence in the Precambrian was due to its continuous evolution, rather than the sudden disappearance due to an event (Bowring and Erwin, ... Some people like me wanted to go a little deeper and ask, who made dynamite and what makes dynamite go boom? Nitroglycerin or nitro (NG) is a heavy, colorless, oily, Explosive liquid. Chemically, the substance is an organic nitrate compound rather than a nitro compound. Since the 1880 s, nitro or (NG)/nitroglycerin, has been used in the military as a solid propellant. You may know a solid propellants main use which is to propel a bullet. Operational Code Of Culture Essay Culture is an operational code shared by members of a particular society, a system of shared beliefs, values, customs, behaviors, and artifacts that members of society use to cope with their world and with one another. Members of a society share their culture; there is no culture of one , it is learned through a process called enculturation, and changeable through social interactions between people and groups. • 25. Analyzing Esoteric Alchemy And The Alchemist Alchemy began in Hellenistic Egypt particularly in Alexandria. Alexandria was founded in 332 B.C, and quickly became the heartbeat of Hellenistic cosmopolitanism. The Art itself had both exoteric and esoteric purposes, which were centered on the transmutation of base metals into silver and gold. Exoterically speaking it took the form of crafting matter into items of value. However, as a natural development the material means and ends of the Art were often intermixed with the immaterial world. Both were interdependent and intermixed with each other in various ways. Historical analyses of exoteric and esoteric Alchemy suggest that it is impossible to fully separate the two because they are sympathetic to each other. Simply put, whether or not the Alchemist understands esoteric immaterial factors of the practice still have an impact. The purpose of this paper is to analyze esoteric Alchemy and to discuss what the immaterial means and ends of the Work could have meant to the Alchemist, and concludes that the Art was a work of crafting the soul. The approach used in this paper will first examine Hellenistic cosmopolitanism through the idea of the supernatural, the soul, and virtue, and then I will discuss Alchemy as understood by from and close to the Hermetic tradition. Many Alchemists had an understanding of the natural and supernatural that parallels antique thought as a whole. Common in the culture was a desire to understand, communicate, and develop virtue. • 26. Work Opportunity Tax Credit Essay The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is an incentive that is profitable for companies using it and helpful for the jobseekers that qualify for the tax credit. At the same time, it can also be a bad incentive because companies that use the tax credits will try to target only those specific jobseekers and will disqualify any other person. I work for a company that specializes in government tax incentives, mainly with WOTC because it is the most popular throughout the states, but there are many more similar to it. This tax credit allows companies and agencies to save money on their taxes when they hire employees from nine specific groups such as long term family assistance recipients, ex felons, qualified recipients of Supplemental Security ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To fix this issue of having companies solely hiring those that fit in the targeted groups, the program should make a maximum amount of tax credits per company depending on the size of the company. For example, for every 50 new employees, the maximum to qualify for the tax credit should be 25 30, allowing the rest of the jobseekers to be considered. Another way to improve the tax credit program and eliminating any issues, is by not focusing on the WOTC questionnaires the agencies give to potential jobseekers. The Human Resource department should look at qualifying individuals based on skill and knowledge. After that phase, they can see who qualify for the targeted groups, allowing a fair chance from the beginning. My approaches will help companies have an equally biased hiring process and not having them take advantage of receiving tax credits through this incentive. The tax credit was created for those that have difficulty getting hired, so by using my approach it will allow for those that don t fit in the targeted groups as well. If companies were required to have a maximum per company, they will be forced to hire an equal amount of diversified employees and preventing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hitler became chancellor in January 1933 because he was the leader of the most popular party in Germany How far do you agree with this opinion. Hitler did not become chancellor in January 1933 because he was the leader of the most popular party in Germany, it was however to do with the support of the elite that made him Chancellor. There were other factors also such as the decline of the Weimar Republic and the economy but it was mainly to do with the conservatives. One factor that shows that the support of the elite was the reason that Hitler had become Chancellor was the event of the Bamberg conference. The political violence in the run up to the election was the perfect excuse for the removal of the SPD dominated Prussian government. President Hindenburg ordered the army to seize control; this resulted in the new regime in Prussia to be an authoritarian one. This demonstrates how the destruction of thee Weimar republic could have been the reason why Hitler had become the chancellor. However it did not directly make Hitler the chancellor, while the support of the conservatives did. Although it does show that Hitler did not become the chancellor due to the fact that Hitler did not become the chancellor due to the fact that he was the leader of the most popular party. The fear of a communist takeover could also show how it was due to the support of the conservatives is the reason Hitler had become the chancellor. The KPD had seen its vote increase from 3.2million in 1928 to 5.9 million in November 1933. It was the Nazi s determination to reduce the communist militia that caused conservatives to back Hitler. There were a number of influential industrialists and bankers including Hjalmar Schacht, IG Farben and Gustav Krupp, who put pressure on Hindenburg to appoint Hitler as chancellor. The reason behind why they had done this because they feared loosing their wealth and power in the event of a communist takeover. • 28. Memory Is A Social Phenomenon It is been seen that memory is now ubiquitous .All of Memory has been wholly observed by its meticulous reconstitution.. When we examine a little closely to how we recollect things in our day to day to life, we realize that the greatest number of memories come back to us when our parents, our neighbours, our friends or the other persons recall them to us. Differences in discourse of memory have been understood by the remnants of experience which is still lived in the warmth of tradition, in the silence of custom, in the repetition of ancestral which have been displaced under the pressure of a fundamentally historical sensibility. Memory is a social phenomena. It has become the subject of controversies among observers and analysts. The notion of memory when it is defined, can be either understood as internal or inward memory and external memory, or personal memory or social memory(Halbwach 1950, 52). Narratives about the past by nations and states are not something new. When we reflect upon them , we make many discoveries ; we discover the shape and the why of the events. (ibid: 55). But the explosion of the memorial phenomenon by largely, is increased from the utterance of specific groups, whether intranational or transnational groups, and from the range of scales on which the narrative of past experience is legitimately expressed. • 31. Climate Change Reflection After watching the move How To Let Go and Love All The Things Climate Can t Change, my perception of our world completely changed. With the overwhelming facts to the heartfelt stories Josh Fox exposes viewers to the damage that is yet to come. This movie was so effective as opposed to other climate documentaries because Fox explains the human aspects of climate change. Traveling to twelve countries on six continents he explains how ocean warming, sea level rise, and air quality are already negatively affecting people in their everyday lives. People don t connect with facts, people connect with people. This is something I am realizing is critical in getting others on board with sustainability initiatives and to re think the role we play as consumers. After graduating I want to work as a sustainability director for a large company. At the start of my sustainability journey I am discovering that the most essential part of a sustainability director s job is to be personable. People will be more likely to implement change when they realize how it benefits or affects them and their organization. Without effective communication, projects will never be funded, ideas will not be considered, and it is less likely that your impact will be as substantial as it could. As a sustainability advocate, it will be my job to promote and implement initiatives that will help us now, but also generations to come will feel those effects. Josh Fox shows it is the grassroot groups and people stepping up to protect our planet because they know it is necessary. I have developed the mindset, if not me than who? Out of all ten of the things that climate can t change, I believe that the most important one is resilience. As sustainability professionals, it is a fact of life that you will be told no. But the key is moving on from that. You can not get yourself worked up just because things didn t play out how we want. We can also not let getting told no beat us down, not everyone understands or wants to understand the environmental catastrophes that are upon us. With this in mind, we should use getting told no to drive us forward and work even harder on the next project we have. Resilience stood out to me in the movie when the Samoa tribe ... The quantity demanded increased to 7.7 million from 5.3 million. In the following year 2005, in order to maximize the profit, the decision to upgrade the production process was taken. This increased the sales revenue and reduced the total cost for the business (Tata Interactive Systems, n.d.).
