himself, and sold out of the back of his car. In 1980, the O frame goggles were announced and became

Sexualized In Public
Before I will discuss how I feel about women baring their breasts out in public, I personally need to
consider my own. My breasts in a whole are not too large, yet not quite big either. I can personally
exempt myself from being a lifetime member of the itty bitty titty community, yet I m still unable to
join the big girl s gang. My breast is pretty average based off of my knowledge; having a C cup bra
size isn t something to neither complain nor fret about, yet for my average size breast I do regulate and
more importantly sexualized because of my boobs. I don t recall agreeing to be sexualized before I
was born, but then again neither did I agree to be born in a patriarchal modern day society. I think that
breast shouldn t be regulated nor condemn. Though being bare breasted in public is something that I
have yet to experience or actually do in my life; I m certainly on board with this symbolical type of
activism. Being bare breasted brings forth this sentiment of liberation: free from underwire and free
from those annoying straps, yet it also brings forth those antagonizing stares and remarks at the same
time. Is liberating your breast really worth it? Considering Bartky s analysis: not really. Yes, the time
has passed since Bartky was written her article, yet sanctions and violence are still prominent in our
modern society. The gaze which is inscribed in the very structure of the disciplinary institution is
internalized by the inmate; modern technologies of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women have fought for the right to do so, so they should be able to go topples. For me, the sheer fact

Piaget Observation
Cognitive Development: Transition between Preoperational Concrete Stages
Piaget believed that human development involves a series of stages and during each stage new
abilities are gained which prepare the individual for the succeeding stages. The purpose of this study is
to evaluate the differences between two stages in Piaget s Cognitive Development Theory—the
preoperational stage and concrete operational stage. Cognitive development refers to how a person
constructs thought processes to gain understanding of his or her world through the interaction of
genetic and learned factors. The development of new cognitive structures (mental maps or schemas)
will be a result of the individual s ability to adapt through mental processes such ... Show more

The power of suggestion, which is how a person says something, demonstrated that Adriana was
easily persuaded to change her mind. When the experimenter performed task two and three, he asked
her why she thought the amounts were the same and she simply explained what she saw visually, but
she always looked for confirmation in her answer from the experimenter. Adriana was then asked
about where she thinks dreams come from and she said they were scary . She couldn t mentally come
up with any other reasons of where she thought they came from, which demonstrated her inability to
think abstractly or logically.
Isaac was able to agree on each task that initially all the quantities were the same, but was easily
influenced once the pennies were moved, the water was placed into a different size glass and the clay
was rolled into a different size shape. He thought the row of pennies that was spread out had more
pennies, the glass that was taller had more water and the clay that was rolled out had more clay. When
asked why he thought there was more, he used concrete physical descriptions about what he saw such
as the glass was taller or of a different size and that the clay was longer . This demonstrated Isaac s
inability to conserve and that he is indeed in the preoperational stage, as Piaget suggests. When
presented with the last task, Isaac first said he didn t know and then once the experimenter encouraged

Renaissance Influence On The Historical And Social...
Renaissance Influence on the Historical and Social Significance of Self Portraiture During the
Renaissance, artists were acquiring status and the technical means to create a new genre of art called
self portraiture (Bond). Portraits are defined as having a likeness of a specific individual (Adams).
However, self portraits do not only have a likeness of the artist but also a sense of psychology that
connects the viewer to the artist. This connection gives the self portrait a depth of complexity that
even portraits do not always achieve. Following the development of self portraiture, one must
transverse the development of portraiture. Then one must follow self portraits connection to
portraiture and self portraits own unique development. Then one must recognize the influence of the
society on the value of the artist and their artworks. In order to understand the significance of the
development of self portraiture, one must have some familiarity with the history of portraiture and its
development as a whole. Portraiture is a facet of the artistic community that retains a deep history
from multiple ancient cultures. In Ancient Egyptian, around fifteen thousand B.C., artists carved out
portraits, mostly of the pharaohs. Also, many of the portraits created were meant to reside in the
patron s tomb upon his or her death. These portraits or funerary statues provided a physical form for
the spirit to use in the afterlife (Walker, Appendix 1). Around two hundred B.C., Romans seemed

Effect Of Anaerobic Respiration On Yeast
In this experiment, my group designed our own experiment in which we explored anaerobic
respiration using yeast by measuring the rate of fermentation and examining the amount of carbon
dioxide produced by active yeast. We did this by obtaining one mole of sucrose, glucose, and fructose
and testing their effects they had on fermentation in a water and yeast mixture. Fermentation is more
often referred to as anaerobic respiration, which takes place in the absence of oxygen, and yeasts are
single celled fungi, often used in commercial bread and alcoholic beverage production. Anaerobic
respiration is helpful to the body because it helps produce lactic acid in the muscles when exercising,
and stops your body from overworking itself. During alcoholic fermentation, cells break down glucose
to form ethanol and carbon dioxide, as well as two ATP molecules. I hypothesized that if the same
amount of glucose, sucrose, and fructose are added to a solution, then the rate of fermentation will
increase, varying among the sugars. My null hypothesis stated if the same amount of sucrose, glucose,
and fructose is added to the solution, then no reaction will occur. To start our experiment, we created
our control that was filled with water heated to sixty degrees Fahrenheit, then added a yeast packet to
the water and mixed the solution. Next, we acquired one mole of sucrose, glucose, and fructose. The
independent variables in our experiment included sucrose, glucose, and fructose, while the

Decisions In The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet
Throughout The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare comments on the message behind
decisions made by individuals who are in love amidst external troubles. The Tragedy of Romeo and
Juliet Act II, Scene 2 is an excerpt of a play written by William Shakespeare in 1594. In this scene,
Romeo is by Juliet s window. Juliet monologues on her forbidden love for Romeo, and once his
presence is discovered, they confess their true love. Shakespeare makes it clear that lovers decisions
are rebellious, rash, and not fully thought through. Juliet oft speaks of marriage, despite Romeo being
of a conflicting family. She says, Deny thy father and refuse thy name (Romeo and Juliet. 2.2.34). In
this line, Juliet speaks of Romeo casting off his name, and

Aphrodite Or Venus
Aphrodite or Venus, the Roman name, was the goddess of Love, Beauty and Fertility, also she was
connected to the death of nature and human beings. This goddess has many names like, either
Aciadalia, Cytherea and Cerigo, used in different areas of Greece. The Greek word aphros means
FOAM, and Hesiod said that Aphrodite was born from a white foam near the island of Cyprus, and so
she was worshipped as a goddess of the sea. However, she was known of the love and fertility. On the
other hand, Homer said that Aphrodite was the daughter of Zeus and Dione.
She was physically attractive and was able to make men fall in love with her. In addition, her features

Stereotypes Of African American Music In The 20th Century
Up until the 20th century music in North America showed a clear distinction between race and social
class. The music from then has since evolved into many diverse forms and backgrounds of origin. The
most significant impact on music concerning race in the 20th century was African Americans and the
musical traditions, they brought to the music world adapted through the life of slavery. Before the time

Marie Curie Essay
Marie Curie, or rather Marya Sklodowska, was born in Warsaw on
November 7, 1867. At the time, the Polish capital was occupied by the
Russians, who were seeking to weaken the local elite . Based on the value of experience and scientific
reality, and applied to society, it was for many intellectuals the path of progress, it was to leave an
indelible mark on Marya. Born into a family of teachers and brought up in an environment marked by
a sense of duty and a lack of money, she led the most remarkable life. From the premature death of
one of her sisters, and later of her mother, she drew the agnosticism that would later increase her faith
in science. As a brilliant and mature student with a rare gift of concentration, Marya followed the ...

Henri Becquerel, who was studying X rays, had recently observed that uranium salt left an impression
on a photographic plate in spite of its protective envelope. And so his frail wife set about her work,
handling tons of minerals she noted that another substance, thorium, was quot;radioactive quot;, a
term she herself had coined. Together, they demonstrated in a major discovery that radioactivity was
not the result of a chemical reaction but a property of the element or, more specifically, of the atom.
Marie then studied pitchblende, a uranic mineral in which she measured a much more intense activity
than is present in uranium alone. She found that there were other substances besides uranium that were
very radioactive, such as polonium and radium, which she discovered in 1898.
Pierre tested radium on his skin. It caused a burn, and then a wound. Its effect on man was proven.
Soon radium was being used to treat malign tumors, Chemotherapy was born. In 1903, Marie
defended her discovery. Together with Becquerel, the Curies were awarded the
Nobel Prize for Physics for their discovery of natural radioactivity. Their happiness was short lived. In
1906, Pierre, weakened by radiation and overworked, was run over by a car. Marie was forced to
continue alone.

Hearing Lips And Seeing Voices By Harry Mcgurk
Multi sensory integration is a process in which sensory input from one sense organ interacts with and
influences how other sense organs process this same input, and how these inputs combine to produce a
cohesive and unified perceptual experience (Talsma, Senkowski, Soto Faraco, and Woldorff, 2010). A
prime example of multi sensory integration is the process of speech perception which combines
auditory and visual inputs to form a cohesive and comprehensive speech percept (Nath and
Beauchamp, 2012). In their 1976 article Hearing Lips and Seeing Voices , Harry McGurk and John
MacDonald described a perceptual phenomenon they referred to as the McGurk effect (McGurk and
MacDonald, 1976). The McGurk effect is an audiovisual illusion that is ... Show more content on

These McGurk and MacDonald studies were the first to demonstrate that visual stimuli can modify
speech perception when it is presented simultaneously with incongruent auditory stimuli. These
findings contested the traditional assumption that speech perception in face to face conversation was a
unimodal, rather than multi sensory process, that is, a strictly auditory process that was independent of
visual input (McGurk and MacDonald, 1976; Rouger, Fraysse, Degunie and Barone, 2007;
MacDonald and McGurk, 1978). Although McGurk and McDonald provided valuable insight into the
role of visual processes in speech perception, their initial studies did have some limitations, for
example, their manner place hypothesis failed to provide a comprehensive theory of the cognitive
processes involved in producing the McGurk effect. They also failed to measure their participant s
lipreading performances prior to conducting their study and thus, this potential confounding variable
was not taken into consideration. Furthermore, McGurk and MacDonald failed to explain why up to
one third of their participants did not experience the McGurk effect at all.
Since these original McGurk effect studies, there has been some debate between theorists and
researchers,

Barbie Research Paper
History
In 1945, Ruth and Eliott Handler founded Mattel one of Americas leading manufacturing companies
of today. The idea for the Barbie doll was conceived when Ruth watched her daughter play with adult
paper dolls. She noticed the importance of being able to change the doll s clothes, and decided to
create a three dimensional fashion doll, naming her Barbie after Barbara (her daughter). At the time,
the toy market was dominated by baby dolls and toddler dolls. Barbie was a new conception that
became a worldwide hit. Since her debut in 1959, Barbie has remained one of the most popular toys of
all time. There are two Barbie s sold every second, and more than one billion dolls have been sold
around the world (Maine, 2000, cited in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In defense of Barbie s body shape, Mattel stated that she looks fuller with all her thick clothing, thus
they made her waist so thin (McDonough, 2010). Fact still remains that the doll is promoting an
unattainable ideal that can affect girls self esteem negatively. Girls in Western societies usually have
their first Barbie by age 3, and possesses seven troughout their childhood (Maine, 2000, cited in
Slayen, 2011). Growing up with Barbie and not having any physical recemblance to her could result in
disrupted eating behaviors. From a very early age, girls are having concerns about their food intake
and weight: reportedly 46 % of nine to eleven year olds are occasionally dieting (Gustafson Larson
Terry, 1992, cited in National Eating Disorder Association, 2005).
Many studies have shown a significant correlation between early exposure to Barbie dolls and body
dissatisfaction. Dittmar, H., Halliwell, H., Ive, S. (2006, cited in Munger, 2006) examined this by
creating three different books for girls. The first one contained pictures of Barbie, the second one
featured an Emme doll a curvier, more realistic fashion doll by Tonner® (Mendelsohn, 2002), and the
last book had only pictures of clothes and no dolls. The books were then showed to 162 randomly

Violence In Washington Irving s The Devil And Tom Walker
In the story, The Devil and Tom Walker, there is a humorous way of looking at serious topics.
Washington Irving shows his thoughts on these topics through the characters in this story. He attacks
ways of living and social ideas that he thinks people should live without. In this story, Irving criticizes
violence, greed, and false piety. Throughout The Devil and Tom Walker Washington Irving shows his
point of view on violence. One example of this is when the Irving is describing the Walkers
relationship. He described that in their relationship there was a lot of screaming and yelling. He also
said that Tom s face showed signs that their conflicts were not confined to words. (243) Irving says
that if a passerby was to see and hear this violence between them, the passerby would celebrate that he
was not in a relationship and that he was celibate. This addresses the issue of violence in a humorous
way; however, it shows Irving s beliefs about violence. His beliefs, as shown, are that violence is a
bad thing and that people should be happy if they can live without it. Throughout this story Irving
condemns greed. In the beginning of the story, Tom is characterized as a greedy man. One way this is
shown is when his wife is killed by the devil. She brought many valuable goods to try and make a deal
with the devil and she got into a fight and lost. When Tom found out about his wife he was more
concerned about the loss of the valuable goods that his wife. Another

How To Write A Narrative Essay About Golfing
I was so tired. My family and I had been kayaking since eight o clock a.m. on this balmy Saturday
morning, and the time was now approaching two p.m. With little rain the week before, kayaking was
harder today than almost any other. This deficiency of precipitation caused the water to be low,
therefore we had to walk when the rocks cropped out above the water. My exhaustion was beginning
to affect my attitude. It seemed as if everything was so dark and awful, since I was just simply
fatigued by my early day s work. At this stage of misery, I didn t know what was going to help me get
out of it. My dad came up with a grand idea as we approached our eleventh mile on the Little Coal
River. He said, Nate this would be wonderful! Doug (one of our good family friends), invited us to
come play golf with him and the boys (his twin sons, Preston and John Logan) at Berry Hills. Almost
immediately, I cringed. There was nothing I hated more than golf, and now I had to play it on the same
day as riding the river for what seemed like endless hours. With my soul crushed by the continuous
paddling, I knew I needed to make the most out of this golfing experience. Having never played on an
actual golf course before, aside from the small driving range across from my house, I was honestly
somewhat intrigued. I got out of the car with a grin on my face, sweat on my brow, and a seven iron in
my bag. I walked towards the putting green with a pep in my step, forgetting about my

Pornography Viewed by The Four Ethical Standards Essay
The word Pornography is defined as writings, photographs, movies, etc., intended to arouse sexual
excitement . With each year that passes pornography has been more and more accepted, it can be seen
in books, magazines, cable television and most of all through the internet. Many religions go against
it, but at the same time people know that there is a reason why people go into the business and
accepted it an other people just like it. In this paper I will talk about pornography and how it is viewed
by the four ethical standards (Utilitarian, Kant, Human Rights and Justice is Fairness). Utility
(Utilitarian) is measured by the amount of benefits for all people or greatest number of people. By this
pornography is accepted since it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Off course there are exemptions on which people are brought into the business against there own will.
By this standard if you choose to go into the business then by K 2 standards it is ethical. K 1 applies
the Universality principle, which asks the question Would a person in a similar circumstance do the
same thing? Most of the people who are in the pornography business know that they could be making
money in another way. And if asked, they would not like their son or daughter to follow their steps. By
this it would flunk the K 1 standard. K 3 applies the publicity test, which asks Would I be willing to
tell my grandmother? By majority nobody would tell their grandmother about it, if he or she is
working in pornography. It would flunk the publicity test. Human Rights are what more people are
concerned with. Pornography fits in where people have the freedom of speech, life and the right to
pursue happiness. While people are doing it by their own means and have the adequate age then
pornography is all right. In my opinion pornography does violate welfare rights, since pornography is
not considered a moral and ethical way of living because it is not a descent environment. Pornography
under the principle of equal liberty it is accepted since it gives liberty to choose. But the only thing is
that not everyone respects the people who work in pornography, because they don t think it is right to
make their living in that way. Under the

Essay about A Comparison of Sei Shonagon and Marie de France
A Comparison of Sei Shonagon and Marie de France
Though more than two hundred years have separated Sei Shonagon and Marie de France, the scene is
much the same. A courtly lady sits in a candle lit room, with her writing hand poised above a book of
parchment. Her face brightens in an instant of inspiration and she scribbles furiously onto the paper.
This woman is closely associated with the royal court and is something of an anachronism, a woman
author in a male dominated world. The scene pictured here could have taken place in either Shonagon
s late tenth century Japan or the twelfth century France of Marie de France. The differences that exist
between these two authors are a result of their differing cultures and personalities. ... Show more

Shonagon s writing is that of someone who is oblivious to her audience. She has no care for proper
sentence or paragraph structure. For example, Things That Give a Clean Feeling contains a series of
sentence fragments, such as An earthen cup. A new metal bowl. In fact, much of the Pillow Book is
not written for an audience, as Shonagon admits in It Is Getting So Dark. Here she reveals that since
much of it might appear malicious and even harmful to other people, I was careful to keep my book
hidden. But now it has become public, which is the last thing I expected. At one point, Shonagon
confesses that while a younger girl might risk the consequences of putting down such impieties, a
woman of her age should be less flippant. While excerpts such as the satirical report on the ladies in
waiting in Especially Delightful Is the First Day could be seen as mean spirited, the author is just
expressing her honest thoughts. She writes faithfully to her own strongly held opinions; no regard to
religious or moral authorities is necessary.
Though some of the observations in the Pillow Book may justify Shonagon s intention to keep the
book private, it would have been a pity not to share some of the beautifully vivid imagery she uses. In

A Comparison Of Walt Disney Resort And Universal Orlando
Walt Disney World vs. Universal Orlando
Amusement parks are a great form of entertainment for families and individuals. Walt Disney World
resort and Universal Orlando resort are two popular theme park destinations which provide enjoyment
to many worldwide visitors on a daily basis. Although both resorts share similarities, they also have
numerous differences which set them apart from each other creating a unique vacation experience for
each visitor. While both Walt Disney World resort and Universal Orlando resort are located in the
heart of Orlando, Florida, Walt Disney World resort is a considerably larger vacation destination. Both
resorts have multiple theme parks, each of them aimed at offering different experiences for guests.
Walt Disney World resort has four different theme parks to choose from: Magic Kingdom, Epcot,
Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. On the other hand, Universal Orlando resort has only two
theme parks to offer their guests: Universal Studios Florida and Universal s Islands of Adventure.
Both resorts offer convenient on site hotels for their guests in order to keep them as close as possible
to the fun. Walt Disney World resort has more than twenty five different hotels to choose from while
Universal Orlando resort has only five hotels. Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando provide
entertainment for visitors of all ages. However, it is no surprise that the intended audience for Walt
Disney World is targeted towards young children. On the other hand, Universal Orlando provides
entertainment for an older audience. Walt Disney World has slower attractions which are suitable for
the whole family and revolve around the many different Disney movies and characters. Universal
Orlando is known for its thrill rides which are loved by adrenaline seekers. Walt Disney World has
very few thrill rides to choose from and not many of them are large scale roller coasters. Universal has
basically an entire theme park dedicated to large scale roller coasters providing twists and turns at a
high velocity for its guests. Walt Disney World keeps the fantasy going for the young children by

Eden by Design is a captivating read. A replica of the never adopted 1930 Olmsted Bartholomew
parks plan for L.A. County, Parks, Playgrounds, and Beaches for the Los Angeles Region, is the
essence of the book. Going through the introductory parts made me realize that had this plan, which
itself is extraordinary in its latitude and farsightedness, been implemented the congestive mass of
concrete that represents Los Angeles in the modern times could have been avoided. To start with, the
one element I liked the most about this plan is the parkways. It was important for Los Angeles to have
a system of continuous landscaped parkways dedicated to pleasure travel and to act as lungs for a
rather polluted city. Even though after going through the plan, I m not quite adamant on the fact that
why was it dropped. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

elite behavior of the developers and political entrepreneurs and that they did struggle to improve the
urban environment. This book explains essentially where we are today in the Los Angeles and such

Descriptive Essay On Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls, Canada
Niagara Falls is my favorite vacation destination. The history and museums have been interesting and
kept me wondering about the people that have gone over the Niagara Falls for years. Why did they do
it? There have been many people to go over the Falls, some survived and some did not. People take it
as a challenge or even just for fun. Many believe that they may come out being rich, they either have a
great experience and are able to say they survived the Niagara Falls or they perish to their death. It is
against the law to go over the Falls and you will be charged, thousands. I love to watch documentaries
on Niagara Falls and hear about the people that have gone over the Falls and survived. Niagara Falls is
in North America, it is in Ontario, Canada and is on the border of America and Canada. Canada is in

Small Claims Court Case Analysis
The purpose of this essay is to analyze state court jurisdiction issues. To do so, this essay will look
over the district courts, small claims court, and county courts. This essay will discuss their differences
in cases, expenses, and processes and how they are limited. Staring with the jurisdictional limits of
small claims court, it s important to know the minimum expense is $5000. The maximum amount you
can claim, in some states, is $10000. There many cases that a small claim court can prosecute. One is
recovering a security deposit. If in a situation the landlord refuses to return a security deposit you can
argue to reclaim it in small claims court. Yet, if you owe rent then you landlord can take you to court,

Isolation And Characterization Of Human Umbilical Cord...
Summary of:
Isolation and Characterization of Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells with
Hematopoiesis supportive Function and Other Potentials (Lu et al. 2006)
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are fibroblast like structural cells that are found in bone marrow,
skeletal muscle, and other connective tissues. MSC derived from bone marrow (BM) have been shown
to be self renewing and are capable of differentiation into a variety of stromal cell types including
bone forming osteoblasts, fat storing adipocytes, and neurons. Another trait exhibited by BM MSC is
their supportive role in hematopoiesis (blood genesis). This behavior has been utilized to enhance
efficacy of co transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). BM MSC are gathered using painful
procedures in which penetrating bone to access the marrow. This article investigates the umbilical
cord (UC) as a source of MSC and compares the cells gathered in this manner with BM MSC.
Previous methods for obtaining UC MSC involved extracting the cells from the single vein found on
the umbilical cord. This method was met with 30% success with this group. A new method involving
the use of the whole cord was created and attempted. This method was then compared to the
traditional practice to isolate MSC, through bone marrow aspiration. The research group did this by
dicing the cord into 1 2 mm fragments and enzymatically digesting said fragments in collagenase and
trypsin. The cell suspension was then filtered and cultured

The Foundations Of The Canons
The Foundations of the Canons John 14: 26 states but the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father
will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said
to you (). This verse is an explanation from Christ about the role of the Holy Spirit in teaching and
recalling events that took place during his time on earth. It is through the witness of the Spirit that man
can determine the wheat from the chaff. () The early church had the writing of the Old Testament but
did not have a formal set of canonized books regarding the Messiah to draw their inspiration from.
Though they had letters from Apostles there were many heretical writings that were circulating
throughout the lands that were teaching doctrine different from those who knew Christ personally.
Josephus stated that no one had been bold enough to add, take away, or change the wording in the Old
Testament scripture (), this was what the Church was looking for in forming a canon that related to the
teaching of Christ; a type of written text that would be foundational therefore no one would want to
take away or add to it. The early church was using the four Gospels and the letters of many of the
Apostles in their church teachings. The churches focused on the importance of the authors being in a
first hand relationship or direct correlation to a disciple such as Mark was to Peter and Luke was to
Paul (). The Apostles took some time to write down their experiences because

Anti Black Racism And The Black Experience
This document is intended to provide a brief look at the historical context of Anti Black Racism as it
relates to the Black experience in general. In doing so, it does not attempt to highlight or emphasize
policing or police oversight in particular. It will, however, help to facilitate greater understanding of
the historical and omnipresent nature of Anti Black Racism in our institutions, and collective psyche.
The roots and manifestations of Anti Black racism can be traced far back in western history and
cultural practice. Needless to say its continuing impact and repercussions in our modern day public,
private, Judaeo Christian and social institutions and practices, while perhaps, not always understood or
openly acknowledged, is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plantation slave drivers and overseers have been replaced by public prosecutors and militarized police,
and the human right to life, denied Africans during the 400 years of the barbarity called chattel
slavery, continues to be contested. The racism that informs that contestation defines and distorts the
primary social rations of humanity.
Here in Canada, there has been reluctance to openly engage in similar public discourse and action.
Perhaps from a sense of not wanting to rock the boat , or possibly a more complacent or self righteous
notion that we are not as bad as our neighbours to the south. We celebrate our diversity but many see
Anti Black Racism and diversity as competing or even mutually exclusive. Some might offer that this
in itself exemplifies the way in which Anti Black racism manifests itself north of the Forty ninth
Parallel. Stephen Lewis in his 1992 Report to Premier Bob Rae, just over a month after the riots on
Toronto s Yonge Street, was arguably the first to forthrightly acknowledge and describe how Anti
Black Racism manifests itself. In the first of his four initial observations in the report, he not only
names and acknowledges Anti Black Racism but also delineates the pervasiveness if its reach in the
Black communities with whom he consulted across Southern Ontario.
It is Blacks who are being shot [by police], it is Black youth that is

Circular Reasoning/Beg the Question Begging the question is when one supports a claim by using its
premise or another claim as proof. An example would be, Tabbies are cats because it is stylish like a
cat. This is incorrect because it uses the claim that cats are stylish as proof that tabbies are cats. The
fallacy would be fixed by supporting the claim that is being used as proof. A closely related fallacy
would be the circular reasoning fallacy. An example of that would be, Tabbies are cats because it is a

Aggression in Middle School Girls Essay
Aggression in Middle School Girls
It was eight o clock on a cold night in January. Our house rang with giggles and whispers and the
occasional shriek of laughter. In the family room the latest teenie bopper flick was amusing a crowd of
pajama clad seventh graders. The sound of pounding feet from above betrayed that others were having
an impromptu dance party/ pillow fight. The phone book was missing. My little sister, Lily, was
having a sleepover.
Mom had rushed to the store when it was discovered that there was no more ice cream in the freezer.
My father had wisely retreated to the parlor to read. I was in charge. Suddenly, from upstairs I heard a
door slam and raised voices. I gritted my teeth and went to investigate. ... Show more content on

Psychologists and social workers have churned out books, websites, and articles targeting parents,
teachers and girls themselves, offering advice and research on how to handle pubescent girls. While
there are many competing viewpoints, all seem to agree that, contrary to centuries of cross cultural
social stereotypes, girls are, in fact, naturally aggressive creatures. Unlike their male counterparts,
young girls use entirely different forms of aggression, collectively known as subtle aggression or
alternative aggression.
Every afternoon between Monday and Friday, Lily stalks up the driveway from the bus stop and hurls
open the front door while throwing her book bag across the room. About three out of the five
afternoons she stomps in with a melodramatic sigh and crumples into a chair or Mom s arms, weeping.
Some days it is about her clothes Erica says that outfit was frumpy. Other days it is about her size

Poetic Analysis Of The Weary Blues By Langston Hughes
Poetic Analysis of The Weary Blues by Langston Hughes Langston Hughes was truly able to make a
name for himself through the reaction he gained from creating the revolutionary collection of poems
The Weary Blues in 1926 where this poem with the same title can be found. During this time, the
world was in turmoil and Hughes had just immersed himself in the Harlem renaissance scene. All the
rules were changing around him so, why not in poems too. He decided to take an entirely new
approach to poetry by breaking standard rules of poems and adopting the jazz and urban blues rules
which were more like a recommendation of rules rather than graved in stone. Hughes had a basic
rhythm and varied it to fit the words or change the mood of his poems. Sometimes he spelled words to
match the way that real people talk. It was refreshing compared to the stuffy, rigid poetry that had
been seen before, written in free verse with an irregular rhyme scheme, mimicking the natural patterns
of speech and music.
In the opening two lines Hughes decided to use a tactic that left the reader in the dark, guessing what
he is talking about. The only element one can decipher is that he is talking about music by the
terminology being used; words such as syncopated tune // croon , the long O sounds of droning and
drowsy which mimic yawning. The sense of music can also be observed by the ever present varying
rhythm, a rocking back and forth feeling replicating the flow of a gentle blues.

Faith and Organized Religion Essay
Many skeptics in today s culture are convinced that organized religion does more harm than good.
Many of these people make persuasive arguments that are or can be conclusive. In some cases, they
say, a church, has too much power, is filled with politics and its rituals take away from God and put
emphasis on one s self; therefore, faith is what matters. In the novel A Portrait of The Artist as Young
Man by James Joyce, readers see Stephen go through life with faith, surrounded by others with faith
and religious activities. After a while, Steven loses sight of true faith, forgets God and becomes an
artist.
Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. Many people

The preacher then cautiously warns him that participating in this sin will take over his life. After this
confession, he found his faith and became a new man. Stephen began rituals, Sunday was dedicated to
the mystery of the Holy Trinity, Monday to the Holy Ghost, Tuesday to the Guardian Angel...
(Portrait, 103). Stephen immediately jumped from being only concerned with himself, doing nothing
for the Lord and engulfed in sin. Stephen even wore rosary, then at the end he lost faith. Stephen
consumed himself with acts and rituals so much that it could be said he lost faith. The rituals took him
away from God and put emphasis on what he wanted to be, an artist. The rituals of organized religion
pushed him to the edge.
As Stephen was in the transaction of sanctification, he started to go through the motions. Stephen did
everything according to feeling. For example, when he felt like he was not saved, he repented to gain
God s power. A restless feeling of guilt would always be present with him: he would confess, repent,
and be absolved, confess and repent again and be absolved fruitlessly (Portrait, 109). Stephen was
entirely in control of his own thoughts; he knew he could go back to the way he was at any second.
Stephen wanted to be free and to express himself for who he was and not who everyone wanted him to
be. After a long struggle between this ritualistic attitude, he felt tied to the rituals of his religion.

The Argonauts, Les Guerilleres, And Dictee
Power is a very particular thing and can be produced in a multitude of ways. The three texts The
Argonauts, Les Guerilleres, and Dictee show this in numerous ways. As a reader, you learn to
recognize the power in places you wouldn t necessarily expect. From being dismantled within a
dystopia to exploiting the way bodies serve the world, power has control over everything.
There is a sense of power within Les Guerilleres when the women take over and start a war. They are
developed within a group of empowerment and their only wish is to start anew, creating a world, or
dystopia, different than anything that has ever been seen, completing erasing all that is and was. They
believe that a fresh start is the only way that utter happiness can be found and they want the new
world to be a paradigm for all that is and can be good. They are controlled by the goddesses that lived
before them and by the empowerment that the vagina holds within. Exulting the beauty that they have
once they are united, they feel powerful enough to take control and to unify a front that can withstand
any battle. Once unified, they continue to grow stronger, and a shield begins to appear around the
women that can fight off any weapon that they come in contact with, thus creating an infrangible
bond. By exploiting themselves, they are using their power and unity to create a shield that is
impermeable. Their bodies are the sprout of their power, and because of this, they are perceived as the

There were a few things that were taught at my placement in Asda and one of those things were how

Wilderness Information Network
Case 2, The Development of the Wilderness Information Network
Section One The internet boom of the late nineteen ninnies and the early two thousands sparked
creativity across the board for organizations to spread their message, three of these organizations
resided in Missoula Montana. The University of Montana s(U of M) Wilderness Institute, Aldo
Leopold Wilderness Institute, and the Arthur Carhart National Wilderness Training Center thought to
create a website that would spawn a cyberculture of wilderness out of disparate communities to help
protect the future of primitive lands in the modern age. This website was to be called the Wilderness

Allocations of funds for the project would come from the Wilderness Management Distance Education
Program awarded to the University, and the Carhart agency s discontinued BLM s computer project.
This is where I was uneasy with the fact that an institute without a computer science/development
program would be creating the Wilderness Information Network. I look back to the creation of the
ACA(Affordable Care Act) website which resulted in a disaster that still faces problems to date,
instead of hiring a private firm to create the website with input from the various health agencies and
politicians, it was built in the opposite manner. This is where I began to look into Ronald Moe s Limits
of Privatization Theory and how it can be useful when applied in certain applications such as
developing and maintaining a website. Furthermore, proving that the public sector tends to expand too
quickly in times of innovation, which makes many functions performed by government agencies
disordered and ineffective; thus, this work may be better assigned to private sector units which will
perform these functions more efficiently and economically. (Moe, 1987) Next, I observed the
confrontation between the Park Service and the contributors to WIN, and came to the conclusion that
Park.Net would eventually outsource WIN due to its current establishment, similar information, and
popularity. All things considered, WIN could still be created by the three Montana Agencies, but I
foresee that a lack of interest would be taken to the site and an unstable budget could hinder the
website down the road (Perrow,

Creon as the Tragic Hero of an
Greek tragedy would not be complete with out a tragic hero. Sophocles wrote Antigone with a specific

Creon fits Aristotle s tragic hero traits as a significant person who is faced with difficult decisions.
Creon is significant because he is king. This makes him both renowned and prosperous. Creon is not
completely good nor completely bad; he is somewhere in between, as humans are. The audience can

Antigone does not. She does not change, but stays ignorant, even in her death. The only way to grow
and improve oneself is to change. Creon changes, but cannot benefit from them because his death so
quickly follows his transformation. The audience realizes how short life is, and Creon s downfall

Moral Constraints In Macbeth
Approximately 410 years ago, a man by the name of William Shakespeare began indulging in one of
his most famous dramas The Tragedy of Macbeth, set in Scotland, the play dramatizes the damaging
physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those who seek power for their own sake.
Shakespeare wrote this drama for King James I because he finances most of Shakespeare s dramas,
enjoys watching the dramas performed, and believes to be a descendant of Banquo. Most of
Shakespeare s dramas have skyrocketing plots that end in a surprising, yet well deserving brutal death.
Even though the plots intrigue the audience, the supernatural mysteries of the drama makes
Shakespeare s work something to remember. This drama is Shakespeare s shortest tragedy, and tells
the story of a brave Scottish general named Macbeth who receives a prophecy from a trio of witches
that one day he will become King of Scotland. So when moral constraints go rampant because of

Chemical Reaction Investigation
Introduction:
A rate of reaction is how fast or slow a chemical reaction happens. In order for a chemical reaction to
occur it must have a great amount of energy and the particles in a chemical reaction must collide
frequently. There are a variety of factors which can affect the rate of a reaction, these include
temperature, surface area, concertation, agitation and a catalyst. One of the factors that we have
investigated above includes the measurement of the surface area between three Aspirin tablets. The
first tablet was kept whole, the second tablet was cut into four pieces and the last tablet was crushed
into fine powder. During this experiment my group had predicted that the crushed powder would have
a higher surface area therefore a faster ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because particles in the reaction will move faster gaining more energy causing more collisions
to occur. If a chemical reaction had a low temperature then the particles would move slower and
would less likely collide.
During this experiment, it was essential to have a hypothesis as it outlines your predictions and
guesses. My hypothesis was supported through both my data and research because I predicted that the
room temperature would have a faster reaction rate than the cold temperature. If my hypothesis was
rejected the data would be more accurate. My research would determine if my hypothesis or data was
accurate or not.
Not much problems occurred during the experiment as many things went smoothly. There are many
variables which need to be controlled these include the same amount of hydrochloric acid and calcium
carbonate when investigating the different temperatures and the same person measuring the volume of
gas throughout the entire experiment. Throughout all trials the beakers didn t contain the same amount
of water. Therefore not all variables were controlled. This problem could affect the reading of data. In
order for the results to be more accurate, the method should say a specific amount of what the water in
the beaker should be filled up to. This will ensure that the experiment is more

  • 3. Sexualized In Public Before I will discuss how I feel about women baring their breasts out in public, I personally need to consider my own. My breasts in a whole are not too large, yet not quite big either. I can personally exempt myself from being a lifetime member of the itty bitty titty community, yet I m still unable to join the big girl s gang. My breast is pretty average based off of my knowledge; having a C cup bra size isn t something to neither complain nor fret about, yet for my average size breast I do regulate and more importantly sexualized because of my boobs. I don t recall agreeing to be sexualized before I was born, but then again neither did I agree to be born in a patriarchal modern day society. I think that breast shouldn t be regulated nor condemn. Though being bare breasted in public is something that I have yet to experience or actually do in my life; I m certainly on board with this symbolical type of activism. Being bare breasted brings forth this sentiment of liberation: free from underwire and free from those annoying straps, yet it also brings forth those antagonizing stares and remarks at the same time. Is liberating your breast really worth it? Considering Bartky s analysis: not really. Yes, the time has passed since Bartky was written her article, yet sanctions and violence are still prominent in our modern society. The gaze which is inscribed in the very structure of the disciplinary institution is internalized by the inmate; modern technologies of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Piaget Observation Cognitive Development: Transition between Preoperational Concrete Stages Piaget believed that human development involves a series of stages and during each stage new abilities are gained which prepare the individual for the succeeding stages. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the differences between two stages in Piaget s Cognitive Development Theory—the preoperational stage and concrete operational stage. Cognitive development refers to how a person constructs thought processes to gain understanding of his or her world through the interaction of genetic and learned factors. The development of new cognitive structures (mental maps or schemas) will be a result of the individual s ability to adapt through mental processes such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The power of suggestion, which is how a person says something, demonstrated that Adriana was easily persuaded to change her mind. When the experimenter performed task two and three, he asked her why she thought the amounts were the same and she simply explained what she saw visually, but she always looked for confirmation in her answer from the experimenter. Adriana was then asked about where she thinks dreams come from and she said they were scary . She couldn t mentally come up with any other reasons of where she thought they came from, which demonstrated her inability to think abstractly or logically. Isaac was able to agree on each task that initially all the quantities were the same, but was easily influenced once the pennies were moved, the water was placed into a different size glass and the clay was rolled into a different size shape. He thought the row of pennies that was spread out had more pennies, the glass that was taller had more water and the clay that was rolled out had more clay. When asked why he thought there was more, he used concrete physical descriptions about what he saw such as the glass was taller or of a different size and that the clay was longer . This demonstrated Isaac s inability to conserve and that he is indeed in the preoperational stage, as Piaget suggests. When presented with the last task, Isaac first said he didn t know and then once the experimenter encouraged him ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Renaissance Influence On The Historical And Social... Renaissance Influence on the Historical and Social Significance of Self Portraiture During the Renaissance, artists were acquiring status and the technical means to create a new genre of art called self portraiture (Bond). Portraits are defined as having a likeness of a specific individual (Adams). However, self portraits do not only have a likeness of the artist but also a sense of psychology that connects the viewer to the artist. This connection gives the self portrait a depth of complexity that even portraits do not always achieve. Following the development of self portraiture, one must transverse the development of portraiture. Then one must follow self portraits connection to portraiture and self portraits own unique development. Then one must recognize the influence of the society on the value of the artist and their artworks. In order to understand the significance of the development of self portraiture, one must have some familiarity with the history of portraiture and its development as a whole. Portraiture is a facet of the artistic community that retains a deep history from multiple ancient cultures. In Ancient Egyptian, around fifteen thousand B.C., artists carved out portraits, mostly of the pharaohs. Also, many of the portraits created were meant to reside in the patron s tomb upon his or her death. These portraits or funerary statues provided a physical form for the spirit to use in the afterlife (Walker, Appendix 1). Around two hundred B.C., Romans seemed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Effect Of Anaerobic Respiration On Yeast In this experiment, my group designed our own experiment in which we explored anaerobic respiration using yeast by measuring the rate of fermentation and examining the amount of carbon dioxide produced by active yeast. We did this by obtaining one mole of sucrose, glucose, and fructose and testing their effects they had on fermentation in a water and yeast mixture. Fermentation is more often referred to as anaerobic respiration, which takes place in the absence of oxygen, and yeasts are single celled fungi, often used in commercial bread and alcoholic beverage production. Anaerobic respiration is helpful to the body because it helps produce lactic acid in the muscles when exercising, and stops your body from overworking itself. During alcoholic fermentation, cells break down glucose to form ethanol and carbon dioxide, as well as two ATP molecules. I hypothesized that if the same amount of glucose, sucrose, and fructose are added to a solution, then the rate of fermentation will increase, varying among the sugars. My null hypothesis stated if the same amount of sucrose, glucose, and fructose is added to the solution, then no reaction will occur. To start our experiment, we created our control that was filled with water heated to sixty degrees Fahrenheit, then added a yeast packet to the water and mixed the solution. Next, we acquired one mole of sucrose, glucose, and fructose. The independent variables in our experiment included sucrose, glucose, and fructose, while the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Decisions In The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet Throughout The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare comments on the message behind decisions made by individuals who are in love amidst external troubles. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Act II, Scene 2 is an excerpt of a play written by William Shakespeare in 1594. In this scene, Romeo is by Juliet s window. Juliet monologues on her forbidden love for Romeo, and once his presence is discovered, they confess their true love. Shakespeare makes it clear that lovers decisions are rebellious, rash, and not fully thought through. Juliet oft speaks of marriage, despite Romeo being of a conflicting family. Henri Becquerel, who was studying X rays, had recently observed that uranium salt left an impression on a photographic plate in spite of its protective envelope. And so his frail wife set about her work, handling tons of minerals she noted that another substance, thorium, was quot;radioactive quot;, a term she herself had coined. Together, they demonstrated in a major discovery that radioactivity was not the result of a chemical reaction but a property of the element or, more specifically, of the atom. Marie then studied pitchblende, a uranic mineral in which she measured a much more intense activity than is present in uranium alone. She found that there were other substances besides uranium that were very radioactive, such as polonium and radium, which she discovered in 1898. Pierre tested radium on his skin. It caused a burn, and then a wound. Its effect on man was proven. Soon radium was being used to treat malign tumors, Chemotherapy was born. In 1903, Marie defended her discovery. • 11. Hearing Lips And Seeing Voices By Harry Mcgurk Multi sensory integration is a process in which sensory input from one sense organ interacts with and influences how other sense organs process this same input, and how these inputs combine to produce a cohesive and unified perceptual experience (Talsma, Senkowski, Soto Faraco, and Woldorff, 2010). A prime example of multi sensory integration is the process of speech perception which combines auditory and visual inputs to form a cohesive and comprehensive speech percept (Nath and Beauchamp, 2012). In their 1976 article Hearing Lips and Seeing Voices , Harry McGurk and John MacDonald described a perceptual phenomenon they referred to as the McGurk effect (McGurk and MacDonald, 1976). These McGurk and MacDonald studies were the first to demonstrate that visual stimuli can modify speech perception when it is presented simultaneously with incongruent auditory stimuli. These findings contested the traditional assumption that speech perception in face to face conversation was a unimodal, rather than multi sensory process, that is, a strictly auditory process that was independent of visual input (McGurk and MacDonald, 1976; Rouger, Fraysse, Degunie and Barone, 2007; MacDonald and McGurk, 1978). Although McGurk and McDonald provided valuable insight into the role of visual processes in speech perception, their initial studies did have some limitations, for example, their manner place hypothesis failed to provide a comprehensive theory of the cognitive processes involved in producing the McGurk effect. They also failed to measure their participant s lipreading performances prior to conducting their study and thus, this potential confounding variable was not taken into consideration. Furthermore, McGurk and MacDonald failed to explain why up to one third of their participants did not experience the McGurk effect at all. The idea for the Barbie doll was conceived when Ruth watched her daughter play with adult paper dolls. Girls in Western societies usually have their first Barbie by age 3, and possesses seven troughout their childhood (Maine, 2000, cited in Slayen, 2011). Growing up with Barbie and not having any physical recemblance to her could result in disrupted eating behaviors. Many studies have shown a significant correlation between early exposure to Barbie dolls and body dissatisfaction. Dittmar, H., Halliwell, H., Ive, S. Washington Irving shows his thoughts on these topics through the characters in this story. He attacks ways of living and social ideas that he thinks people should live without. In this story, Irving criticizes violence, greed, and false piety. Throughout The Devil and Tom Walker Washington Irving shows his point of view on violence. One example of this is when the Irving is describing the Walkers relationship. He described that in their relationship there was a lot of screaming and yelling. He also said that Tom s face showed signs that their conflicts were not confined to words. My family and I had been kayaking since eight o clock a.m. on this balmy Saturday morning, and the time was now approaching two p.m. With little rain the week before, kayaking was harder today than almost any other. This deficiency of precipitation caused the water to be low, therefore we had to walk when the rocks cropped out above the water. My exhaustion was beginning to affect my attitude. It seemed as if everything was so dark and awful, since I was just simply fatigued by my early day s work. At this stage of misery, I didn t know what was going to help me get out of it. My dad came up with a grand idea as we approached our eleventh mile on the Little Coal River. He said, Nate this would be wonderful! Doug (one of our good family friends), invited us to come play golf with him and the boys (his twin sons, Preston and John Logan) at Berry Hills. Almost immediately, I cringed. There was nothing I hated more than golf, and now I had to play it on the same day as riding the river for what seemed like endless hours. With my soul crushed by the continuous paddling, I knew I needed to make the most out of this golfing experience. Having never played on an actual golf course before, aside from the small driving range across from my house, I was honestly somewhat intrigued. Essay about A Comparison of Sei Shonagon and Marie de France A Comparison of Sei Shonagon and Marie de France Though more than two hundred years have separated Sei Shonagon and Marie de France, the scene is much the same. A courtly lady sits in a candle lit room, with her writing hand poised above a book of parchment. Her face brightens in an instant of inspiration and she scribbles furiously onto the paper. This woman is closely associated with the royal court and is something of an anachronism, a woman author in a male dominated world. At one point, Shonagon confesses that while a younger girl might risk the consequences of putting down such impieties, a woman of her age should be less flippant. Poetic Analysis Of The Weary Blues By Langston Hughes Poetic Analysis of The Weary Blues by Langston Hughes Langston Hughes was truly able to make a name for himself through the reaction he gained from creating the revolutionary collection of poems The Weary Blues in 1926 where this poem with the same title can be found. During this time, the world was in turmoil and Hughes had just immersed himself in the Harlem renaissance scene. All the rules were changing around him so, why not in poems too. He decided to take an entirely new approach to poetry by breaking standard rules of poems and adopting the jazz and urban blues rules which were more like a recommendation of rules rather than graved in stone. Hughes had a basic rhythm and varied it to fit the words or change the mood of his poems. Sometimes he spelled words to match the way that real people talk. It was refreshing compared to the stuffy, rigid poetry that had been seen before, written in free verse with an irregular rhyme scheme, mimicking the natural patterns of speech and music. In the opening two lines Hughes decided to use a tactic that left the reader in the dark, guessing what he is talking about. The only element one can decipher is that he is talking about music by the terminology being used; words such as syncopated tune // croon , the long O sounds of droning and drowsy which mimic yawning. The sense of music can also be observed by the ever present varying rhythm, a rocking back and forth feeling replicating the flow of a gentle blues. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A restless feeling of guilt would always be present with him: he would confess, repent, and be absolved, confess and repent again and be absolved fruitlessly (Portrait, 109). Stephen was entirely in control of his own thoughts; he knew he could go back to the way he was at any second. Stephen wanted to be free and to express himself for who he was and not who everyone wanted him to be. After a long struggle between this ritualistic attitude, he felt tied to the rituals of his religion. Stephen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My First Year Professional Program Student As a first year professional program student, I had the opportunity to intern at Winn Dixie at Crawfordville for three Thursdays starting from September 24th to October 8th for my first Introductory Pharmacy Practice (IPPE) . I was able to work with two pharmacists, Dr. Kris, a 2004 Florida A M University Pharmacy School Graduate, and Dr. Curtis, from whom I was able to learn the different perspectives of pharmacy due to his experience in the pharmacy field. Winn Dixie was founded in 1925 and it employs more than 72,000 associates who serve customers in 663 grocery stores and 393 in store pharmacies throughout the five southeastern states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. • 31. The Argonauts, Les Guerilleres, And Dictee Power is a very particular thing and can be produced in a multitude of ways. The three texts The Argonauts, Les Guerilleres, and Dictee show this in numerous ways. As a reader, you learn to recognize the power in places you wouldn t necessarily expect. From being dismantled within a dystopia to exploiting the way bodies serve the world, power has control over everything. There is a sense of power within Les Guerilleres when the women take over and start a war. They are developed within a group of empowerment and their only wish is to start anew, creating a world, or dystopia, different than anything that has ever been seen, completing erasing all that is and was. They believe that a fresh start is the only way that utter happiness can be found and they want the new world to be a paradigm for all that is and can be good. They are controlled by the goddesses that lived before them and by the empowerment that the vagina holds within. Exulting the beauty that they have once they are united, they feel powerful enough to take control and to unify a front that can withstand any battle. Once unified, they continue to grow stronger, and a shield begins to appear around the women that can fight off any weapon that they come in contact with, thus creating an infrangible bond. By exploiting themselves, they are using their power and unity to create a shield that is impermeable. Their bodies are the sprout of their power, and because of this, they are perceived as the world s most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will tell the objectives I set before starting my internship and how I developed my skill set throughout the whole period. I will also show examples of the work I did and how they developed relevant and practical skills that are related to my degree. I will also describe how I was able to expand my understanding of the company I was working for and the processes in the organisation. I will also apply the theoretical knowledge learned throughout MDP and my degree to the working environment at my placement. There were a few things that were taught at my placement in Asda and one of those things were how to approach and deal with customer enquiries. For example, we need to approach our customers with confidence and innate friendliness. When working at the floor shop customers tend to ask a lot of questions and it is Important ... Sometimes when working on the shop floor customers tend to ask a lot of questions, such as where a particular product is in the store, and it is therefore very important to get to know as many products the company stocks and items and be able to locate them or have a rough idea where a particular item will be. It also helps to have specialized knowledge on particular products, for example, in the home and leisure department a customer wanted my help in choosing the best television for him and his family. This helped me adapt and learn allot about the different products that Asda stocks, and with experience it gets easier and enabled me to effectively handle high pressure ... Wilderness Information Network Case 2, The Development of the Wilderness Information Network Section One The internet boom of the late nineteen ninnies and the early two thousands sparked creativity across the board for organizations to spread their message, three of these organizations resided in Missoula Montana. The University of Montana s(U of M) Wilderness Institute, Aldo Leopold Wilderness Institute, and the Arthur Carhart National Wilderness Training Center thought to create a website that would spawn a cyberculture of wilderness out of disparate communities to help protect the future of primitive lands in the modern age. This website was to be called the Wilderness Information Network, which in short would overcome barriers of geography, finances, and bureaucracy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Allocations of funds for the project would come from the Wilderness Management Distance Education Program awarded to the University, and the Carhart agency s discontinued BLM s computer project. This is where I was uneasy with the fact that an institute without a computer science/development program would be creating the Wilderness Information Network. I look back to the creation of the ACA(Affordable Care Act) website which resulted in a disaster that still faces problems to date, instead of hiring a private firm to create the website with input from the various health agencies and politicians, it was built in the opposite manner. This is where I began to look into Ronald Moe s Limits of Privatization Theory and how it can be useful when applied in certain applications such as developing and maintaining a website. Furthermore, proving that the public sector tends to expand too quickly in times of innovation, which makes many functions performed by government agencies disordered and ineffective; thus, this work may be better assigned to private sector units which will perform these functions more efficiently and economically. (Moe, 1987) Next, I observed the confrontation between the Park Service and the contributors to WIN, and came to the conclusion that Park.Net would eventually outsource WIN due to its current establishment, similar information, and popularity. All things considered, WIN could still be created by the three Montana Agencies, but I foresee that a lack of interest would be taken to the site and an unstable budget could hinder the website down the road (Perrow, ... Based on Aristotle s definition, Creon is the tragic hero of Antigone. Creon fits Aristotle s tragic hero traits as a significant person who is faced with difficult decisions. Creon is significant because he is king. This makes him both renowned and prosperous. Creon is not completely good nor completely bad; he is somewhere in between, as humans are. The audience can relate to this and they admire his qualities of intelligence in political affairs. They can also relate to his ability to make hard decisions with apparent ease. Some people argue that Antigone is faced with tough decisions and a downfall, just as Creon is, but she does not meet all of the characteristics. While Creon realizes his wrong doing and negative traits, and strives to change, Antigone does not. She does not change, but stays ignorant, even in her death. The only way to grow and improve oneself is to change. Creon changes, but cannot benefit from them because his death so quickly follows his transformation. • 35. Moral Constraints In Macbeth Approximately 410 years ago, a man by the name of William Shakespeare began indulging in one of his most famous dramas The Tragedy of Macbeth, set in Scotland, the play dramatizes the damaging physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those who seek power for their own sake. Shakespeare wrote this drama for King James I because he finances most of Shakespeare s dramas, enjoys watching the dramas performed, and believes to be a descendant of Banquo. Most of Shakespeare s dramas have skyrocketing plots that end in a surprising, yet well deserving brutal death. Even though the plots intrigue the audience, the supernatural mysteries of the drama makes Shakespeare s work something to remember. This drama is Shakespeare s shortest tragedy, and tells the story of a brave Scottish general named Macbeth who receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. • 36. Chemical Reaction Investigation Introduction: A rate of reaction is how fast or slow a chemical reaction happens. In order for a chemical reaction to occur it must have a great amount of energy and the particles in a chemical reaction must collide frequently. There are a variety of factors which can affect the rate of a reaction, these include temperature, surface area, concertation, agitation and a catalyst. One of the factors that we have investigated above includes the measurement of the surface area between three Aspirin tablets. The first tablet was kept whole, the second tablet was cut into four pieces and the last tablet was crushed into fine powder. During this experiment my group had predicted that the crushed powder would have a higher surface area therefore a faster ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because particles in the reaction will move faster gaining more energy causing more collisions to occur. If a chemical reaction had a low temperature then the particles would move slower and would less likely collide. During this experiment, it was essential to have a hypothesis as it outlines your predictions and guesses. My hypothesis was supported through both my data and research because I predicted that the room temperature would have a faster reaction rate than the cold temperature. If my hypothesis was rejected the data would be more accurate. My research would determine if my hypothesis or data was accurate or not. Not much problems occurred during the experiment as many things went smoothly. There are many variables which need to be controlled these include the same amount of hydrochloric acid and calcium carbonate when investigating the different temperatures and the same person measuring the volume of gas throughout the entire experiment. Throughout all trials the beakers didn t contain the same amount of water. Therefore not all variables were controlled. This problem could affect the reading of data. In order for the results to be more accurate, the method should say a specific amount of what the water in the beaker should be filled up to. This will ensure that the experiment is more ...
