Alexander Hamilton Role Model
Alexander Hamilton was a statesman when he wasn t even a citizen, one of the poorest and modest
founding father, an abolitionist when to be such was almost unheard of outside closed doors, and
revolutionary when once again he was never born nor raised in the colonies. For someone who gets so
little credit we actually owe so much to this one man. This man came to New York City with nothing
but the money raised for him and his dedication. Alexander Hamilton is the only person to be able to
claim that he was a self maker that made a name for himself from nothing in America. Alexander
Hamilton can also be seen as a good role model in many cases for new immigrants having invented
the New York Post, Coast Guard, and even the first political party, ... Show more content on

This would not have been a problem if not for the fact she was already married and had a child. This
however did not deter her from James Hamilton and as such had two children with him and the
youngest of those being Alexander Hamilton. Because of the adultery and the fact she could not marry
another she never did marry James Hamilton who left his family once it became obvious that the sugar
business, the reason he came to Nevis in the first place, was on working out for him he left. His
mother raised him and actually owned a business until her death to disease in February 19th, 1768.
After that he began to work for his mothers landlord and soon worked in the slave trade. After so long
however despair struck again in the form of a hurricane. This however did not deter Hamilton and he
wrote everything he saw. This later got published and after some people saw what he wrote they raised
money for him to go to America because they believed he could have done more. Hamilton rarely
speaks of his old life and when he does its short and to the point thus leading to the thought that he
was ashamed of his illigitmacy and/or the pain of the thoughts of his old life. This man was already
damaged by a traumatic childhood yet he still stood when many would have caved and surrendered
thus carving a way through to the

How Did The Middle Class Affect Latin America
The rise of the middle class had a potent impact on Latin America. The middle class consisted of a
high percentage of the intellectuals, authors, teachers, and journalists and also they had the most
influential voice in the late 19th century (Charlip Burns, 177). One of the most important points about
the middle class was that they were not only the true nationalists in Latin America but also they
regarded the United States as their model, thus they tried to learn something beneficial from the
United Sates for their nation s prosperity and citizens. For example, the middle class was impressed by
the high North American literacy rate and also considered the high literacy rate seemed to provide the
proper preparation for an industrial society

The Death Of Cartoon Television Tv Show
As a long time fan of classic, nostalgia filled cartoons of the 80 s, 90 s and early 2000 s it s sad to say
the days of Saturday morning cartoons have been laid to rest. Or rather abruptly terminated would be a
better way to put it. The death of cartoon tv TV show blocks has been tucked away in the box of many
young children (mainly of the male demographic) right next to infrared peripherals, and chewed up
and worn action figures that accommodated them. Though unlike many dying forms of media, the
influence of Saturday morning cartoons still continues. First things first, modern cartoons have
difficulty embodying the same type of in depth, adult themed, bro mantic adventures that older
cartoons thrived off of. Take for example the original Transformers series. A group of ultra intelligent,
sentient robots escape their crippling homeworld of Cybertron in order to seek out the much needed
(hyphenate to words that form an adjectiveresource of Energon. Upon finding Earth, our heroes the
Autobots are attacked by the evil Decepticons only to crash land and wake up thousands of years later
in the year 1984. Thus series continues on with Megatron trying to harvest the Earth for its resources
and Optimus Prime and his band of allied companions foiling his every attempt. The next 4 four (spell
out numbers ten and under) seasons present the viewers with the overarching theme of teamwork and
friendship. Granted, it did this very well and the show is praised for its originality and

Aviation Maintenance Trends
Aviation MaitenanceTrends To fly was a tremendous triumph for mankind, who was previously
sentenced to a life only walking the earth. Since the inception of the airplane, there has been aircraft
maintenance. However, this industry has changed dramatically throughout the years and now involves
highly innovative technologies and incredibly skilled technicians in order to best maintain the
incredibly complex aircraft that fly in today s skies. Maintaining an aircraft is a harmonious blend
between simple and intensely complicated procedures. Many procedures even still used to day are
relatively simple and have existed for generations, including the basic engine work, refueling and
other servicing procedures, and other after market manufacturing that might take place on particular
planes. This is now combined with impressive and innovative technologies that are highly regulated
under a wide number of international agencies. Aviation maintenance history actually begins long
before the first airplane took flight. Aircraft have existed in numerous forms before the iconic airplane,
and as such, aviation maintenance had to deal with aircraft like balloons. The first recorded incident
where a human flew in a craft was in 1783, when Jean Francois Pilatre de Rozier flew in a balloon that
was powered by a burning wood fire (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, 2012). This obviously had a
serious maintenance issue, as uncontrollable open flames posed serious health and engineering risks.

Queen Victoria
Queen Victoria reigned England for sixty three years, thus making her the longest reigning monarch to
this day. In a monarchy, the crown is passed down to the closest living relative in a family. When
Victoria s uncle, William IV, passed away, Victoria became queen at the young age of 18. Queen
Victoria s reign is considered as epic. Similar to many epic heroes, Victoria the Queen influenced
culture. The VIctorian Era was named for her during her reign on England. During her reign, England
went through many advancements; technology, sciences, bridges, underground sewers, railways for
buildings, and literary augmentations. Queen Victoria was sheltered from many works of literature for
they referenced wars she was not to know about. One literature work she ... Show more content on

Victoria has a condition where the ability of blood to clot is reduced severely, also known as
hemophilia. During her marriage to Prince Albert of Saxe Coburg, who also happened to be her
cousin, she gave birth to eight children. With hemophilia being a genetic disorder, all eight of her
children were diagnosed with this condition. About nine years after Prince Albert and Queen Victoria s
eighth child was born, Albert passed away from Crohn s disease. For forty years, from her husband s
death to her own, she raised eight children on her own and she reigned over a country. Fame and
fortune were very popular during Queen Victoria s reign, just like these factors were popular in
characteristics of epic stories. Being queen, Victoria had to be a role model for the civilians in
England. When she fell in love with a Scotsman, John Brown, she had to hide her love. If Queen
Victoria had made this relationship public, her popularity would rise, but in a negative way. When
Odysseus yelled out his name, parental ancestry, and homeland, he took a risk. Fame determines a lot

Toys R Us Marketing
When people here the name Toys R Us, they think back to when they were kids of going into a store
made with bricks and mortar and leaving with mom in one hand and the latest toy in other and a great
big smile from cheek to cheek. As time passed the pressure for companies to enter the clicks of e
commerce became strong. In 1998 Toysrus.com, a subsidiary of Toys R Us opened in attempts to be
wherever our customers are, and that includes the Internet. Having a strong brand recognition, there
were no doubts that Toy R Us could continue their successful tradition by holding on to their vision,
which is to put joy in kids hearts and a smile on parents faces , even on the on the Internet.

It becomes too risky to reinvent new ideas before the company has reached its growth stage of the Life
Cycle. The normal process is to reach maturity and then develop new ideas. Toyrus.com is staying
within scope of the Life cycle; although they have the toy business mastered they are still trying to
master the art of websites.
Social relevance is another factor that one can use to help analyze the attractiveness of the industry.
Overall, any form of business done over the Internet is socially accepted because the Internet offers
convenience as well as a time saver. The number one demographic group that frequents on line toy
stores is mothers of children. They know that when it comes Christmas time, what better way to save
shopping time than to order the toys that kids want on the Internet. It is this mentality that raises the
relevance and necessity for such a website. Society already gives acceptance to the Internet and to Toy
R Us Inc., therefore Toyrus.com is also known to nearly all people within its industry on the Internet.
The degree of globalization is another factor that influences attractiveness. If a company entering an
industry can also enter a global market, then it is attractive. Toysrus.com has businesses in other
counties such as the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Etoys.com, their main rival, is not as
globally present around the world, they only have a presence in

Should I Be An Avid Concert Goer And All Around Explorer
Growing up as a wanderess, one would think that I would have mastered the art of clubbing. However,
that couldn t be any further than the truth. While I might be an avid concert goer and all around
explorer, why would I ever engage in clubbing? I don t drink and the thought of standing in a dark
room with strangers with no purpose seemed odd to me. Truthfully, the closest I have ever had to a
club like experience would be the horrific house party of 12. Needless to say, that was enough to
cement my belief that it would be unenjoyable. Sitting around Friday afternoon with no plans yet set
in stone, suggesting that we go out for girls night later that evening via group chat seemed perfectly
normal. Bouncing ideas off each other, I brought up the idea of wanting to check out a club.
Apparently that caught everyone off guard; instantly the conversation died and I was greeted with
several phone calls asking whether or not I was okay and how long I had left .
Anyone who knows me knows that while I may love concerts I simply view clubbing as Prom minus
chaperones. If you could not tell, I was not fond of the idea of prom either and so opted out. It is not
that I am prude of any sort but what is the point of spending hours in line just to enter a dark room
only to be grinded on and groped by strangers?
Once I thoroughly reassured everyone that I was in my right state of mind, preparations for that
evening began. Frankly speaking I never realized how much time and

Hinduism s Influences On Hinduism
Hinduism is one of the oldest major religions still believed in today. There has been many disputes on
the origin, but most agree that the origin came about during the 2nd millennium B.C. in what is now
India. Living in India at the time was the Aryans, which are believed to have had an influence on
Hinduism. One of the first scriptures that the Hindus learn about is called the Vedas which was
originally written in Aryan making people some people believe it had an Aryan origin. The Aryans
believed, much like the current Hindus, in practices that involve bathing at certain times and long
bursts of meditation. Hindus would disagree with that accusation saying that the origin of their
religion came from a certain time or place because they believe that their religion is timeless. They
believe that the origin of their religion is beyond that of human written history (Hay 30 31).
Hinduism is called a religion, but it is actually more like a group of religions. Hinduism, unlike most
religions, is not based on a book or single author, but is a gathering of many authors writings which all
come from many different times periods (Garcia). This has caused Hinduism to be shaped by the
many cultures it has been introduced too over the millennia. One of the earliest influences on
Hinduism comes from the people called Dravidians which were located in the Indus River Valley,
where is now present day Pakistan (Religious Studies Center). Here, evidence was found of

Renewable Energy Through Feed On Tariffs And Taxes
Introduction
In recent years, more has been debated on whether or not nonrenewable energy such as fossil fuel has
caused global warming. Sakamoto and Managi (2016) believe fossil fuel is the likely reason that
temperatures have been rising from greenhouse gases, increasing the CO2 emissions (p. 1). With
depleting resources, it may be a good idea to look more seriously at renewable energy (Sakamoto
Managi, 2016, p. 16). More governments have been trying to create policies to encourage usage of
renewable energy. However, it has been debated what is the best way to enforce renewable energy. In
this paper, I will discuss two ways countries have been encouraging renewable energy through feed in
tariffs and taxes.

14). An increase in marginal cost of nonrenewable resources will drive more consumers to renewable
resources.
On the other hand, a tax on nonrenewable energy does not have the same effect. Sakamoto and
Managi (2016) discovered:
The introduction of the tax on the nonrenewable energy sector leads to the reduction of nonrenewable
energy use and an acceleration of renewable energy use, but the acceleration is not enough to keep the
pre tax level of production... because the marginal cost of renewable energy is high as renewable
energy use increases (p. 15).
A tax on nonrenewable energy leads to an increase in marginal cost of renewable energy. Less
consumers were interested in buying when prices on renewable energy rose.
Another way governments have been trying to implement renewable energy is through feed in tariffs.
Feed in tariffs usually consist of some type of purchase obligation and also a tariff payment on
renewable energy that is fixed for every unit of electricity (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43). The grid operator
involved in the purchase obligation must buy the renewable electricity no matter what (Jacobs, 2012,
p. 43). The producer has the right to a certain amount of money for every unit of electricity that they
produce (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43).
Jacobs (2012) conducted studies in Europe in the countries of Germany, Spain, and France that use

How Dmitri Shostakovich Adhere From The Conventions And...
In this essay I will be discussing the extent that Dmitri Shostakovich adhered to and rebelled from the
conventions and traditions that were normalized in classical music and I will offer varied examples of
the many times Shostakovich has obeyed and dissented within music throughout his career. The career
span of Shostakovich extends from 1926 when he presented his first major work, Symphony No.1 to
1970 when he presented Quartet No. 7.
Born Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich on the 25th September, 1906, in St. Petersburg, Russia, the
composer began his descent into classical music at the age of 9, before later moving on to study at the
Petrograd conservatory. Throughout his life he compiled 15 symphonies, 15 string quartets and 36
film scores as well as many other compositions. Within his musical work and the course of his career
Shostakovich managed to both adhere to traditions set within classical music as well as dissent from
them, I will be exploring these.
I would first like to address what traditions are associated with classical music to highlight how
Shostakovich dissented from these.
I will begin by briefly explaining the definition of chamber music, the definition of chamber music is
Instrumental music played by a small ensemble, with one player to a part, the most important form
being the string quartet. (www.oxforddictionaries.com)
Traditionally chamber music was often intended for a small and intimate audience rather than for an
orchestral performance that

It is possible to notice differences in the climate...
It is possible to notice differences in the climate behavior around the word. The elderly people from
my hometown claim that today the sun burns more than in the time of their youth; in fact, scientists
proove that the average of the patterns of precipitation, temperature, seassons, humudity, and wind of
a region over a long period of time, have been abruptly changing through the years and causing
several impacts in the earth. The prevision is that it will keep changing. The climate changing is one of
the major negative effects of the Global Warming, which is the result of the excess of Greenhouse

It also can harm the animal and vegetal spicies, extinguishing them in a worst scenario. Socially, as
consequence of the loss of land it would result in crowded population and health implications: air

of edible resources, less job oportunities for the population; therefore, adversely affect the global
economy.
There is no proof of how much countries need to reduce the production of Greenhouse gases, but since
years ago that scientists have been studying attempts to solve te Global Warming and avoid or stop the
climate changing. With the development of the technology, many countries start slowly replacing the
old fashioned cars for electric cars to reduce the pollution, which is an example of use of alternative
sources of energy. Use renewable energy such as wind, sun, hydro and geothermal energy, and reduce
the coal burning from the industries, are plausible solutions too. In the year of 1997, in Kyoto, Japan,
it was signed an agreement from over 191 countries with the exception of Andorra, Canada, United

The Chinese Culture
1.0 Introduction
The term culture has many meanings depending on the context in which it is placed. Culture could
mean the way that people have been used to a set system of activities until it becomes a part of their
inheritable knowledge, which they can pass to the next generations. Customs and beliefs can also form
the culture of people who live in a common geographical location or the era in which they are living.
In the corporate world, for example, in an organization, the term culture can refer to as the team spirit
of the employees of that organization. It can also be defined as the set objectives that the staff of an

There are many carvings in the Chinese museums, which were done centuries ago. The carvings
showed things like; how the Chinese are people who nurture creativity, and this has explained the
reason for their creativity even in this technological world. Another art invented by the Chinese was
the martial arts. The Chinese are well known for practicing Kung Fu, and it has become a well known
art in the entertainment industry. Kung Fu was invented by copying the attacking techniques of
animals, and the Chinese has used it as an act of self defense to the extent that there are Kung Fu
classes that are taught for a fee.
Up until today, the Chinese still embrace their culture, and little westernization has penetrated into the
Chinese culture.

In China, there have been strict laws governing religion, and some of the religions have been declared

Despite the religious restrictions, the Chinese are believers in supernatural beings and they conserve
their traditional religion. At various times of the year, the Chinese go for pilgrimages to honor their
deities and their children are taught how to worship from when they are in kindergarten.

Rollercoaster Report Task

2. Introduction:
Nowadays, in almost every theme park, there is a special ride called Roller coaster. The question here
is, how does it work and why are people addicted to it.
The movement of a rollercoaster relies on two types of energies: Gravitational Potential Energy (GPE)
and Kinetic Energy (KE). GPE is a stored energy due to gravity (Potential Kinetic Energy, 2015). (KE
is an energy of motion (Kinetic energy, 2015).
Potential energy (PE) is stored energy, has potential to do work.
Gravitational potential energy (GPE) is the energy of position (vertical). An object has GPE whenever

Part1: The higher the height is, the greater the velocity of the cart gets and the larger the GPE is. It
means velocity and GPE depends on height. Moreover, if GPE is the Maximum then KE is 0 at the top
of the hill, and if GPE is 0 then KE is Maximum at the bottom of the slope (Law of conservation of
energy). GPE energy will transform into KE while the cart is moving but it can t be the same amount
due to the wasted energy. As we can see from the graph, GPE is slightly larger than KE. About
0.00767J of energy is transferred into heat and sound because of frictions from the outside
environment.
Part 2:As can be observed, the more mass the cart has, the more energy (GPE and KE) it gets.
Moreover, GP and KE depend on mass and the velocity doesn t depend on mass so if the height is the
same, the velocity is constant. Some energy is wasted as heat and sound makes the KE is less than
GPE. According to the Law of conservation of energy, there is no wasted energy in terms of
transformation between GPE and KE but as can be seen from the table 2, KE is slightly smaller than
GPE due to the frictions, which occur during the movement of the

Madame de Pompadour and the Theaters of Power, by Thomas...
In the article, Madame de Pompadour and the Theaters of Power, author Thomas E. Kaiser examines
how Jeanne Antoinette Poisson rose to become Madame de Pompadour, a very influential mistress to
the King of France. Her rise was seen in both positive and negative lights, with her acquisition of
power being questioned from those within the royal family and the public1. The life of a mistress was
never an easy one, but Jeanne Antoinette Poisson rose to the daunting task and succeeded where most
had failed. Thomas E. Kaiser goes on to explain how Madame de Pompadour was viewed in court and
society, how she influenced the King, King Louis XV, and how she was able to succeed in her own
right, advancing further than most thought possible for a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The defamation from the parti devot spread through the court and eventually spilled over to the
general public, but despite their best efforts Madame de Pompadour was there to stay and that was
breeding discontent within the royal family 10. Those who sought to have Pompadour removed
developed a plan for who to dissuade King Louis from his growing affection and slander the royal
favorite. Being a mistress of low birth was one point that continued to be pushed towards the King, in
the hopes of shaming him to the point of dismissing Pompadour 11. This beginning disdain for
Pompadour and her ever growing influence with the King began to spill over into public opinion.
Madame de Pompadour was given a wide area of influence and power which she used to take on
many artistic endeavors. Her many artistic enterprises and their considerable costs were viewed to be
responsible for the monarchy levying taxes in an already stressed time 12. When the monarchy began
to acknowledge the public protest against Madame de Pompadour and her spending, the monarchy
responded by lying publicly about the expenses and even went so far as to exile an official who
divulged the true cost of some of her undertakings 13. This resentment continued to grow with the
theater which Madame de Pompadour founded in Versailles 14. This theater played an important part
in how Pompadour would continue to influence King

Aschenbach s Ethos In Anthony
follows him everywhere, just like how Aschenbach will become obsessed with Tadzio and will follow
him everywhere (Jalic). Aschenbach sees artistic aesthetic when he looks at Tadzio, but he doesn t
look for an Apollonian form in Tadzio, he looks for a Dionysian form. Aschenbach compares Tadzio s
beauty to the Eros. Eros is a Greek god depicted as a beautiful and carefree young man. Eros is the
god of love and passionate, physical desire (Cartwright). Without warning [Eros] selects his targets
and forcefully strikes at their hearts, bringing confusion and irrepressible feelings or in the words of
Hesiod he loosens the limbs and weakens the mind (Cartwright). This Dionysian comparison suggests

Aschenbach likes to think that in their relationship, he would be the boy s mentor. However, these are
not Achenbach s true feelings for Tadzio. He has fallen hopelessly in love with Tadzio and his
Apollonian qualities are trying to make him reason that he only is appreciating the stunning physical
beauty that the boy possesses. But, Aschenbach s inner Dionysian qualities are coming forward and he
is experiencing emotions that he has never experienced before. These powerful new emotions are
making him do things he would not normally do. It may have been that [Aschenbach] did not wish to
return to reality, that he was too much in love with his own intoxication (Mann 40). Aschenbach is
letting his Dionysian qualities take over and experiencing feelings and indulgences he never let
himself have before. He learns Tadzio s schedule and no longer wished for anything else than to
pursue the beloved object that inflamed him (Mann 47). Whenever Aschenbach watches Tadzio, he is
filled with happiness and awe. But when Aschenbach can t find Tadzio, he is filled with dread and

Americans Should Eat Healthy Foods Essay
Americans Should Eat Healthy Foods The overall health of the nation should concern every American
within the United States. The populous has acquired a bad habit of turning to convenience foods
because of availability, taste and comfort. Thus to re direct the health of the nation, people need to
stop crippling their health by convenience foods and replace it with healthy, natural choices, otherwise
the health of all will continue to decline. The body responds differently to food types, either healthy or
convenience, and determines the mood and daily productivity of an individual. According to Donald

On an average, large amount of fast foods consumed on a daily basis, leads to the deterioration of an
individuals bodily health over time. Consuming more fruits, vegetables and healthy foods, will
increase the life expectancy of most individuals. According to Donald D. Hensrud of the Mayo Clinic
on Healthy Weight, Eating well choosing a plant based diet, which emphasizes vegetables, fruits and
whole grains also will reduce your risks of some of our nation s biggest killers and related conditions.
Many cancers, heart disease and high blood pressure, among other conditions, are linked to diet, most
notably to diets high in fat and saturated fat. Even without weight loss, adopting a healthier eating
style can be beneficial. (Hensrud 49) The majority of Americans give the argument that healthy food
takes up too much time. They state that they do not have enough time to prepare healthy meals with a
busy schedule, whereas convenience foods are easily squeezed into a day. This common
misconception often inhibits the populous from exerting any energy toward trying to accommodate a
healthier lifestyle. As Hensrud states, Cooking healthfully is not difficult to do, but it may involve
rethinking your approach. (Hensrud 49) Just a little prior preparation cuts time and effort in a tight
schedule and healthy foods generally taste much better than foods from the local convenience
restaurant. When going the healthy route, many choices

History of the Modern Bathing Suit
Imagine this, you see a woman at the beach sporting a thick, black dress and a bonnet. It seems odd
initially; however it gets even odder when she walks into the water wearing it. Well, a little over one
hundred years ago this was the norm. If a woman were to wear a bikini, well, the consequence could
be her being arrested. Believe it or not, in 1919, a woman was arrested for wearing a bathing suit
beneath her clothes.
So, what is a bathing suit exactly? Well, a bathing suit is a garment that is worn during water activities
like swimming, diving, surfing, water polo, and water skiing. Bathing suits can also be worn for
activities such as sunbathing. Bathing suits come in a variety of styles for men and women. The most
popular worn by women are the bikini and one piece. Bathing suits are worn in not just America but
all over the world.
Now that you know exactly what a bathing suit is, let s get into the history. Women s bathing suit
fashion in the 1900 s was very conservative. The laws stated that bathing suits must be a certain length
and had to cover a lot of the body. If a woman were not to abide the laws, she could be arrested.
Bathing suits could not be more than six inches above a woman s knee. Women typically wore black
or navy, knee length puffed sleeve wool dresses trimmed with ribbon and adorned with bows. Long
black stockings, fancy caps and lace up bathing slippers were commonly worn with bathing suits.
Long bathing coats were often worn from the bathhouse up

Success For A Business Analyst
Success for a Business Analyst is not that easy to understand. This is because, when a project goes
well, he takes a back seat. But, when there is even the smallest of problems, he is the one in the firing
line. The role of the business analyst is to bring clarity to the project outcomes and getting the
business to own the solutions. The success of a Business Analyst can be measured by answering the
following questions:
a. Does the project deliver the anticipated value and meet the objectives of the business case? Is the
business happy with the value that is delivered?
b. Are the stakeholders aligned around the project concept?
c. Are the stakeholders convinced that the solution being developed is the best possible solution to the

Every person s suggestions are taken until management is satisfied that all has been done to rectify the
situation. Everything is on track and the project is coming together. Teams are coordinating with each
other and everything is going according to plan. Just then, at the last stage, it all falls apart. Nothing is
as it seems. The project has failed to accomplish what it set out to do. In this scenario, the business
analyst is left hung out to dry, he is blamed and every finger starts pointing at him.
This is exactly the kind of scenario that a business analyst fears. A business analyst must make sure
that such a situation never arises. Some reasons that cause such failures are:
a. Incomplete requirements: There are situations when, the requirement provided by the business are
not complete and contain holes. Such holes must be filled by questioning and covering all possible
scenarios. A business analyst must make sure that the requirements are clear, scope clearly defined and
all loopholes covered.
b. Lack of user requirement: There are certain scenarios when there is uncertainty in the primary and
secondary users that are involved in the implementation of a requirement. This could be due to poor
communication. A business analyst must make sure that he identifies the correct stakeholders and
engages with them by asking the correct questions.
c. Unrealistic expectations: Not every requirement can be met by the implementation team in terms of

Essay on The Stonewall Riots
In the past decades, the struggle for gay rights in the Unites States has taken many forms. Previously,
homosexuality was viewed as immoral. Many people also viewed it as pathologic because the
American Psychiatric Association classified it as a psychiatric disorder. As a result, many people
remained in the closet because they were afraid of losing their jobs or being discriminated against in
the society. According to David Allyn, though most gays could pass in the heterosexual world, they
tended to live in fear and lies because they could not look towards their families for support. At the
same time, openly gay establishments were often shut down to keep openly gay people under close
scrutiny (Allyn 146). But since the 1960s, people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the Stonewall riots increase the awareness of gay rights, the 1980s AIDS epidemic was
another turning point for the gay community. Thus many gay artists expressed their concerns and
views through their art about how the society has ignored them in time of crisis. It was clear that
massive numbers in the gay community were being infected with previously unknown blood borne
pathogens that destroy the immune system. The government ignored the rise of the epidemic. For
example, there were no AIDS related research, prevention, and treatments. Instead, AIDS was
originally framed by the media as a homosexual issue because the first individuals to contract AIDS
were gays. Another right wing idea was that gay men brought this disease onto themselves and that it
was God s punishment for their immoral behaviors. As a result, most people especially gay artists
expressed their anger and concerns through their art. For example, David Wonjnarowicz was
diagnosed with AIDS and was not shy about expressing his anger through his art. His 13 minute video
A Fire in My Belly 1987 expressed his outrage and about grief the AIDS epidemic. The first half of
the video shows the street of Juarez, Mexico, where amputees pass through intersections and headlines

Subnatial Killers In Halloween And Wes Craven s A...
In every horror film, there is always a serial killer or supernatural being terrorizing an innocent group
of individuals. Films such as John Carpenter s Halloween and Wes Craven s A Nightmare on Elm
Street involve supernaturally based serial killers who commit murders in the name of revenge. The
gory nature and explicit violence lead people to wonder why these monsters are created. Deep in the
typical human subconscious, there are fears and impulses that can only be released through these
films. When we watch horror films, we try our hardest to relate to the victims only to find out that we
are more connected to the villain. Each time the killer slits the blonde cheerleaders throat or the
demon drags the handsome football star to the greatest depths of hell, we feel as if it is well deserved.
These scenes allow us to temporarily descend into the beautiful art of absurdity, which lies within our
minds, without physically hurting another person. Stephen King states in his essay titled Why We
Crave Horror Movies that The potential lyncher is in almost all of us (excluding saints, past and
present; but then, most saints have been crazy in their own ways), and every now and then, he has to
let loose to scream and roll around in the grass. King is implying that even the sanest man has a
negative impulse stored deeply in his subconscious. Although a person may seem sane to the public,
they are capable of committing the most heinous crimes known to humanity, and may even think

Introduction
Web applications are nowadays serving as a company s public face to the internet. This has created the
need to identify threats and attacks directed to data servers and web applications. Hackers exploit
vulnerabilities in input validation and authentication affecting the web application in order to gain
illegal access and disclose sensitive data or manipulate it to their benefits.
Common threats to data systems
Data systems such as the web application and data servers are faced by a number of threats, some of
these threats are discussed below:

Denial of Service Attack: The server denial of service attack is the most risky, causing the server to

Human error: Errors caused by people who get into contact with the web application or data servers
either as operators or users include; accidental deletion of data, destruction of software programs,
configuration or hardware error. Vulnerabilities left by the software developers in software, is another
major error. This can include authentication which can be bypassed, failure to validate input and
output data, incorrect implementation of encryption, escalation of privileges, and failure to handle
errors correctly can be used to attack web application leading to exposure of sensitive data such as
customer s financial data. This can be used to cause fraud to the customer s bank or credit card.
Malfunction: software malfunction is mostly caused by poor development practices where security has
not been built in the software development life cycle but rather incorporated at a latter phase when the
software is already fully developed. By doing this, most of the vulnerabilities won t be handled which
latter leads to either crash or malfunctioning of the software, whereby the attacker has an easy time
breaking into the system and causing damage or customer s data disclosure.

Department at Greenby Community Mental Health Center (Greenby) to display the program s
effetiveness and efficiency. The department is facing the problem of losing funds for their operation.
Accessing the needs for the human service programs is significant in evaluating the success of the

ability of the programmers in meeting the needs. The programmers can only consider the program as
effective just after determining the compatibility of the program to the community problems.
Accessing the needs will help the programmers in analyzing and diagnosing any social needs that
relate to the program. The programmers would have to state the actual problem, analyze the scope of
the problem and define the nature of the community needs with the proper target intervention. The
steps followed in needs assessment include the following: performing gap analysis, prioritizing the
activities according to their importance, identification of the causes of opportunities and performance
and the ultimate identification of solution and growth opportunities (Unrau et al, 2007). Determining
the role of the outcome in the evaluation will help in identifying the effectiveness and the efficiency of

Who Is Lily s Objectification In The House Of Mirth
Despite their untruthfulness, they still make a large impact on the lives of the aristocracy. People treat
them like truth, which causes them to almost become a truth themselves. The myths of the aristocracy
make a large impact on the lives they define, usually in a negative way. They make their victims feel
confined to these myths even if they are positive. They create an environment where everyone treats
these people like the myths, which they inhabit. The myth becomes more human than the actual
person. The myths arise from one small fact then speculation and assumption come and transform the
fib into reality. One of the most significant myths in the novel is the idea that Lily is an object. It
follows her where ever she goes in her society and warps people s actions directed towards her. In The

Solar Energy Advantages And Disadvantages
Solar energy can be use today in a variety of ways. Probably because today, more and more people are
understanding the advantages of solar energy as our solar technology increases and the cost of fossil
fuels rises. Solar energy systems today can now used to power homes, cars, appliances in a ways of
like Photovoltaic panels, Heating water, Lighting etc. Solar Photovoltaic panels The most common
form of solar energy used today are photovoltaic solar panels, which absorb the sun s light to create
electricity. These solar panels can be attached to homes as a primary or secondary source of electric
power. They can also be used for small appliances and machines which only need small amounts of
electricity for use. Large scale photovoltaic panel plants have also been constructed to provide power
to many homes. Solar cels convert sunlight directly into electricity. Solar cells are often used to power
calculators and watches. They are made of semiconducting materials similar to those used in computer
chips. When sunlight is absorbed by these materials, the solar energy knocks electrons loose from
their atoms, allows the electrons to flow through the material to produce electricity. This process of
converting light (photons) to electricity (voltage) is called the photovoltaic(PV)effect. Solar cells are
typically combined into modules that hold about 40 cells; a number of these modules are mounted in
PV arrays that can measure up to several meters on a side. These flat plate PV arrays can be mounted
at a fixed angle facing south, or they can be mounted on a tracking device that follows the sun,
allowing them to capture the most sunlight over the course of a day. Several connected PV arrays can
provide enough power for a household; for large electric utility or industrial applications, hundreds of
arrays can be interconnected to form a single, large PV system. Solar lighting One of the easiest way
to improve home efficiency is to add outdoor solar lighting to your property. Unlike traditional
exterior lights, solar lighting requires no complicated setup as the lights are wireless and harness
sunlight during the day to circumvent the need for grid supplied electricity at night. Though solar
lights are not yet as

not play. Every year, about 300,000 kids go to the emergency department because of bike injuries, and
at least 10,000 kids have injuries that require a few days in the hospital. Some of these injuries are so
serious that children die, usually from head injuries. A head injury can mean brain injury. That s why it
s so important to wear your bike helmet. Wearing one doesn t mean you can be reckless, but a helmet
will provide some protection for your face, head, and brain in case you fall down. Bike helmets are so
important that the U.S. government has created safety standards for them. Your helmet should have a
sticker that says it meets standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). If your
helmet doesn t have a CPSC sticker, ask your mom or dad to get you one that does. Wear a bike
helmet EVERY TIME YOU RIDE, even if you are going for a short ride. ... Show more content on

You don t want it too small or too big. Never wear a hat under your bike helmet. If you re unsure if
your helmet fits you well, ask someone at a bike store. Once you have the right helmet, you need to
wear it the right way so it will protect you. It should be worn level and cover your forehead. Don t tip
it back so your forehead is showing. The straps should always be fastened. If the straps are flying, it s
likely to fall off your head when you need it most. Make sure the straps are adjusted so they re snug
enough that you can t pull or twist the helmet around on your head. Take care of your bike helmet and
don t throw it around. That could damage the helmet and it won t protect you as well when you really
need it. If you do fall down and put your helmet to the test, be sure to get a new one. They don t work

Social solidifacation in US Draft
When involved in a discussion about class solidification, people tend to give examples and personal
experience of living in European countries, especially United Kingdom or other regions of
Constitutional Monarchy. While on the other side, United States graces itself and attracts elites from
all over the world with American Dreams , inspires people that everyone can and will eventually climb
up the social class pyramid and achieve economic greatness if they work hard enough. This diligent
spirit resulted in immigration choices made by the talented citizens all over the world to come and

Deforestation In Australia
Deforestation in Australia
What is the issue?
Australia is among one of the wealthiest nations. It has a small population of almost 24million but has
a high rate of extensive deforestation and degradation since the later 18th century during European
settlement. Most of Australia, around 7.6million km2,is covered in dry desert unsuitable for forest
growth, but the thriving coastal and hills areas have seen decline in forest cover and quality over the
last 60 years, especially between 1999 and 200 where an average of 325,900 hectares were being
wiped out each year. Once European colonists began to expand in the late 18th and early 19th
centuries, deforestation and clearance occurred widely along the most fertile soils near the coast. Due

This includes planting pine forests for controlled removal of trees. The Australian government are
taking out $2.3 million to reduce and help deforestation in the Asia pacific region. In March 2008,
Kevin Rudd and PNG Prime Minister, Michael Somare signed a PNG Australia forest carbon
partnership and a month later Climate Change Minister announced $3 million to help reduce
greenhouse gases emitted from deforestation.
How has science helped?
Through science, we have been able to see the damage that is being done through a series of different
tests including testing the soil quality and water salinity levels. It has helped us monitor these levels
over a number of years. Satellite readings have helped view the land that has been disturbed and see
which areas have been affected by it, they also show weather readings and are able to give required
information for whether the area is suitable for replantation.

Women s Dress And Dress
Introduction
France in the 18th witnessed a huge modification in the aesthetic standard in dress for women,
whether in terms of material, style and appearance (Rothstein, 1999: 2). French fashion had
successively experienced several distinctive stages. For instance, Rococo (luxury court style showing
femininity, slimness and mannerism) was in stark contrast to the Baroque (characteristic with dignity
and elegance). However, since the 1870s, the Enlightenment and the French Evolution had exerted a
profound effect on the women s dress in France. In this way, this essay intends to review the
development of women s dress and draw a contrast with the English dress within the same era.
Critical Review of Sources
Generally speaking, French fashion was in ascendency throughout the Europe, which received
extensive attention about all respects concerning French women s dress and French fashion.
The robe volante in the 1730s well displayed the overall loose shape, which, however, failed to
represent the most distinctive feature of the huge flounce as well as pleats on the back. Moreover, the
understructure was also not clearly shown and introduced. The Mantua in 1708 well displayed the
design, materials, colours and patterns, which corresponded to the dress at that time. However, the
colourful silk and well as other design details made it seem more likely to be the characteristics of the
Rococo. The Robe a la francaise in from 1775 1800 showed the changes in women s dress

The Secret Agent Man Georgevitch
Once upon a time, there was a man who lived in Flatlands in Brooklyn. His name was Georgevitch
and for a living, he worked as a security guard for MetLife Insurance at 200 Park Avenue in
Manhattan. He worked six nights a week patrolling around the building. One night he was patrolling
the building and he thought to himself that there was no need for him. For several weeks, absolutely
nothing had happened. Many things were going through his head. He was earning 25 dollars an hour.
And that was better than what anyone else could offer him. Except for two things. He had shoplifted a
couple of times and made a decent amount of money. Another time he had forged fake cheques. So, he
could withdraw random people s money. He was never caught, but his face was caught by cameras at
the bank. He is still wanted by the police. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Agent Man . He loved Secret Agent Man because he could relate to it and he thought it reminded him
of himself. He liked being a security guard, but sometimes he had wished that he was a police officer.
He wanted to become a police officer being it was never boring. Once he had even tried impersonating

Bill Of Rights Of The Individual Citizen
Adrianne Jauregui Homework Assig. #1 12/01/2014 Bill of Rights The protection and civil rights for
the individual citizen is documented as the Bill of Rights. Today, the two most important of are The
English Bill of Rights of 1689 and The United States Bill of Rights of 1791. These two have the many
of the same overlapping principles including, limiting the powers of the government and to providing
people with individual liberties. Although they are both fundamental documents, both countries
differed in form and purpose. The U.S enacted a formal statement of Fundamental rights of the people
of the United States and integrated it into the Constitution as Amendments. It is used to address the
liberties of individual citizens and keep the government from exceeding their boundaries for potential
abuse. In contrast, the English Bill was enacted by the English Parliament, which was a reinstatement
in statutory form of The Declaration of Right. It was to confront issues of relation to the king rather
than parliamentary authority. Essentially, these two formed a new democratic government that
changed everything. In detail, The United States established a collective name for the ten amendments
to the Constitution, the Bill of rights. However, the English adopted an act unlike the U.S. and most
countries that have a constitution. England has no codified constitution meaningm a single document
with key provisions. They have some written documents developed from case law,

Draw from the sociotechnical debate to discuss the emergence of two technologies one developed
before 1920 and one after. What are the implications of your analysis for our understanding of
technological innovations? You are advised to choose technologies we have been discussing in the
lectures and seminars.
There is no denying that technology has been an ever apparent part of the human society. Today,
technology is used in a variety of ways and is essential for the survival of the human society. While
technology is wholly accepted as an essential part of life, there has always been a debate whether it is
technology that revolutionizes society or society that influences technology, ... Show more content on

It views technology as the utilization of existing scientific knowledge in society. For example, the
creation of a laptop, which stemmed from the creation of the computer or the steam boat which came
about due to the application of 2 previous inventions, the boat and the steam engine (Petrakaki, 2014).
Hence it argues that these creations cannot be considered new as it draws upon something that already
exists and not disembodied inspiration as mentioned by MacKenzie and Wajcman (1985). In Social
Determinism, technology does have a limited amount of power as it may open up more opportunities,
however the choice to exploit it remains in society s power (White, 1978). Technology is not
independent and requires an existing infrastructure to be able to run, like a mobile phone, which
requires connections with network towers before it can be used to make phone calls.
Social Determinism also talks about how the shaping of technology can be due to economic, political,
cultural reasons and by social norms. In terms of economic reasons, the progress in technology has
often been linked with improving profit or revenue margins as well as reducing costs (Petrakaki,
2014). For example, the assembly line, which came about in the 1800s, was made to improve the
efficiency and reduce costs for companies, as it required lesser manpower (Walker, 1952). Culture
does shape technology, as the same form of technology may possess different features in different
countries. For example, in

Metropolitan Sprawl

Step one: I will refine and update the Ewing et al. (2002) metropolitan sprawl indices to 2010This
study will differ from the Ewing et al. s 2002study in three respects. First, it will include additional
metrics from various data sources such as Walk Score, NAVTEQ road data, Smart Location Databases
and National Land Cover Database in order to increase validity and captures more aspects of each four

A metropolitan area is a region that consists of a densely populated urban core and its less populated
surrounding areas that are economically and socially linked to it. The criteria of defining metropolitan
areas changed in 2003. Smaller MSAs remained the same, but larger metropolitan areas, previously
referred to as consolidated metropolitan statistical areas (CMSAs) are now defined as MSAs (see
figure 1). Different portions of CMSAs, previously referred to as primary metropolitan statistical areas
(PMSAs), have been redefined and reconfigured as metropolitan divisions. For example, the old New
York CMSA consisted of eleven counties in two states and four PMSAs: New York PMSA, Nassau
Suffolk PMSA, Dutchess County PMSA and Newburgh, NY PA PMSA (see figure 2). The current
New York MSA consists of twenty three counties in three states and four metropolitan divisions.
Metropolitan divisions do not perfectly substitute for PMSAs, as they have different size thresholds
(2.5 million vs. 1 million population), but they come as close to representing homogenous units as we
can come with current census geography. Metropolitan divisions are designated for each of the eleven

First Impressions In Health And Social Care
First impressions matter, according to Whitmore (2014) we make judgments about the
professionalism, character and competence of others based on first impressions . I believe this to be
true. Healthcare today has become customer based industry. I work for a large insurance company and
our focus is obtaining and maintaining our customer base. We strive to provide the best customer
experience possible. Twenty years ago, that might have not been a concern, but with the increase in
specialization and competition, most providers are aware of the need for superior customer service.
First impressions develop quickly after the initial encounter. In addition, a customer will remember
that initial encounter throughout the rest of the experiences

Increasing Gun Control Legislation

Increasing Gun Control Legislation
A/intro? In 2000, nearly 30,000 people died due to uncontrollable gun violence, even though the US
has many gun laws. Gun control is now one of the main political issues because of all the shootings in
the past decade. There have been many studies taken on gun control, which shows more gun control
decreases deaths with a gun involved.
B The Second Amendment in our constitution, is one that is commonly mistaken. The Second
Amendment does not state that a single citizen has the right to protect themselves with a gun. Most
people do not know the text actually says, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a
free state, the right of the people to keep and bear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All that should happen is certain types of guns shouldn t be accessible to the public. For example, a
war zone gun like an M 16 should not be available to the general public because it is not used to hunt
and is not a reasonable gun to carry simply to bare arms. Gun control would also put more restrictions
on who can purchase a gun, because some people are not in the right state of mind to own a gun.
Manufacturers might also be required to make all guns child proof. It s simple, if guns are available to
everyone and anyone, gun violence will not be taken as seriously as it should be. Also, while more gun
legislation is needed, the already existing gun laws on the state and national levels need to be strictly
enforced. For example, it is a national law that in order to purchase a gun, a background check is
required, but not all states enforce this law properly.
Conclusion There are currently over 200 million guns in use, which means obtaining a gun in the
United States mustn t be that hard. If gun usage could be regulated more by banning certain unneeded
weapons to the public and requiring a more in depth background check, than miss usage of guns, and
deaths caused by them would decrease. However, already existing laws need to be enforced and
harsher penalties for those who don t follow the laws. If the country would agree on certain legislation
for gun control, than The United States could be a much safer

The Stranger
After only a few days of trial, the jury in The Stranger declares that the main character, Meursault, is
to be executed by guillotine in the town square. The trial and its verdict are one of the important parts
of the novel, as Albert Camus uses them as a metaphor to summarize the two main tenets of
absurdism. Camus uses the trial and persecution of Meursault to express his belief that the justice
system is flawed because of his absurdist ideals that truth does not exist, and human life is precious. In
order to reform the justice system, Albert Camus believes that capital punishment needs to be
abolished.
The trial portrays the absurdist ideal that absolute truth does not exist. This ideal destroys the very
purpose of the trial, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the facts the prosecutor presents are valid and true, though unrelated to his case. From the
prosecutor s point of view, Meursault is a monster, a man without morals (96). Even Meursault agrees
that what he was saying was plausible (99). The reader, who knows all of Meursault s thoughts, knows
how absurd the prosecution s accusations are. Throughout the trial, Camus explains that perception
means everything, and there is no absolute truth.
The conviction of Meursault represents another main point of absurdism, that life is precious. It only
takes forty five minutes for an entire jury to unanimously decide to send Meursault to the guillotine,
which is unreasonable. Camus is trying to point this out as one of society s wrongdoings. The
prosecutor s argument had appealed to the jury s emotions and society s standards rather than reason.
If the jury had not felt the emotions that were supposed to influence their decision, the prosecutor s
argument would have seemed completely irrational. In a rational world, Meursault s emotions
regarding his mother or her funeral would not have influenced his verdict. Meursault commits a crime
against an Arab, while Raymond, who had also done so earlier in the book, did not get into any
trouble. He would still be found guilty, but only for the crime he committed. This would have
definitely lightened his sentence; however, Meursault is sentenced to death. Camus proves the court s
hypocrisy and shows how human

  • 2. Alexander Hamilton Role Model Alexander Hamilton was a statesman when he wasn t even a citizen, one of the poorest and modest founding father, an abolitionist when to be such was almost unheard of outside closed doors, and revolutionary when once again he was never born nor raised in the colonies. For someone who gets so little credit we actually owe so much to this one man. This man came to New York City with nothing but the money raised for him and his dedication. Alexander Hamilton is the only person to be able to claim that he was a self maker that made a name for himself from nothing in America. Alexander Hamilton can also be seen as a good role model in many cases for new immigrants having invented the New York Post, Coast Guard, and even the first political party, ... His mother raised him and actually owned a business until her death to disease in February 19th, 1768. After that he began to work for his mothers landlord and soon worked in the slave trade. After so long however despair struck again in the form of a hurricane. This however did not deter Hamilton and he wrote everything he saw. This later got published and after some people saw what he wrote they raised money for him to go to America because they believed he could have done more. The middle class consisted of a high percentage of the intellectuals, authors, teachers, and journalists and also they had the most influential voice in the late 19th century (Charlip Burns, 177). One of the most important points about the middle class was that they were not only the true nationalists in Latin America but also they regarded the United States as their model, thus they tried to learn something beneficial from the United Sates for their nation s prosperity and citizens. For example, the middle class was impressed by the high North American literacy rate and also considered the high literacy rate seemed to provide the proper preparation for an industrial society ... • 4. The Death Of Cartoon Television Tv Show As a long time fan of classic, nostalgia filled cartoons of the 80 s, 90 s and early 2000 s it s sad to say the days of Saturday morning cartoons have been laid to rest. Or rather abruptly terminated would be a better way to put it. The death of cartoon tv TV show blocks has been tucked away in the box of many young children (mainly of the male demographic) right next to infrared peripherals, and chewed up and worn action figures that accommodated them. Though unlike many dying forms of media, the influence of Saturday morning cartoons still continues. First things first, modern cartoons have difficulty embodying the same type of in depth, adult themed, bro mantic adventures that older cartoons thrived off of. Take for example the original Transformers series. A group of ultra intelligent, sentient robots escape their crippling homeworld of Cybertron in order to seek out the much needed (hyphenate to words that form an adjectiveresource of Energon. Upon finding Earth, our heroes the Autobots are attacked by the evil Decepticons only to crash land and wake up thousands of years later in the year 1984. Thus series continues on with Megatron trying to harvest the Earth for its resources and Optimus Prime and his band of allied companions foiling his every attempt. The next 4 four (spell out numbers ten and under) seasons present the viewers with the overarching theme of teamwork and friendship. • 5. Aviation Maintenance Trends Aviation MaitenanceTrends To fly was a tremendous triumph for mankind, who was previously sentenced to a life only walking the earth. Since the inception of the airplane, there has been aircraft maintenance. However, this industry has changed dramatically throughout the years and now involves highly innovative technologies and incredibly skilled technicians in order to best maintain the incredibly complex aircraft that fly in today s skies. Maintaining an aircraft is a harmonious blend between simple and intensely complicated procedures. Many procedures even still used to day are relatively simple and have existed for generations, including the basic engine work, refueling and other servicing procedures, and other after market manufacturing that might take place on particular planes. This is now combined with impressive and innovative technologies that are highly regulated under a wide number of international agencies. Aviation maintenance history actually begins long before the first airplane took flight. Aircraft have existed in numerous forms before the iconic airplane, and as such, aviation maintenance had to deal with aircraft like balloons. The first recorded incident where a human flew in a craft was in 1783, when Jean Francois Pilatre de Rozier flew in a balloon that was powered by a burning wood fire (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, 2012). This obviously had a serious maintenance issue, as uncontrollable open flames posed serious health and engineering risks. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In a monarchy, the crown is passed down to the closest living relative in a family. When Victoria s uncle, William IV, passed away, Victoria became queen at the young age of 18. Queen Victoria s reign is considered as epic. Similar to many epic heroes, Victoria the Queen influenced culture. The VIctorian Era was named for her during her reign on England. During her reign, England went through many advancements; technology, sciences, bridges, underground sewers, railways for buildings, and literary augmentations. About nine years after Prince Albert and Queen Victoria s eighth child was born, Albert passed away from Crohn s disease. For forty years, from her husband s death to her own, she raised eight children on her own and she reigned over a country. Fame and fortune were very popular during Queen Victoria s reign, just like these factors were popular in characteristics of epic stories. Being queen, Victoria had to be a role model for the civilians in England. When she fell in love with a Scotsman, John Brown, she had to hide her love. The normal process is to reach maturity and then develop new ideas. Toyrus.com is staying within scope of the Life cycle; although they have the toy business mastered they are still trying to master the art of websites. Social relevance is another factor that one can use to help analyze the attractiveness of the industry. Overall, any form of business done over the Internet is socially accepted because the Internet offers convenience as well as a time saver. The number one demographic group that frequents on line toy stores is mothers of children. They know that when it comes Christmas time, what better way to save shopping time than to order the toys that kids want on the Internet. It is this mentality that raises the relevance and necessity for such a website. Society already gives acceptance to the Internet and to Toy R Us Inc., therefore Toyrus.com is also known to nearly all people within its industry on the Internet. The degree of globalization is another factor that influences attractiveness. If a company entering an industry can also enter a global market, then it is attractive. However, that couldn t be any further than the truth. While I might be an avid concert goer and all around explorer, why would I ever engage in clubbing? I don t drink and the thought of standing in a dark room with strangers with no purpose seemed odd to me. Truthfully, the closest I have ever had to a club like experience would be the horrific house party of 12. Needless to say, that was enough to cement my belief that it would be unenjoyable. Sitting around Friday afternoon with no plans yet set in stone, suggesting that we go out for girls night later that evening via group chat seemed perfectly normal. Bouncing ideas off each other, I brought up the idea of wanting to check out a club. Apparently that caught everyone off guard; instantly the conversation died and I was greeted with several phone calls asking whether or not I was okay and how long I had left . Anyone who knows me knows that while I may love concerts I simply view clubbing as Prom minus chaperones. If you could not tell, I was not fond of the idea of prom either and so opted out. It is not that I am prude of any sort but what is the point of spending hours in line just to enter a dark room only to be grinded on and groped by strangers? Once I thoroughly reassured everyone that I was in my right state of mind, preparations for that evening began. Frankly speaking I never realized how much time and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Hinduism s Influences On Hinduism Hinduism is one of the oldest major religions still believed in today. There has been many disputes on the origin, but most agree that the origin came about during the 2nd millennium B.C. in what is now India. Living in India at the time was the Aryans, which are believed to have had an influence on Hinduism. One of the first scriptures that the Hindus learn about is called the Vedas which was originally written in Aryan making people some people believe it had an Aryan origin. The Aryans believed, much like the current Hindus, in practices that involve bathing at certain times and long bursts of meditation. Hindus would disagree with that accusation saying that the origin of their religion came from a certain time or place because they believe that their religion is timeless. They believe that the origin of their religion is beyond that of human written history (Hay 30 31). Hinduism is called a religion, but it is actually more like a group of religions. Hinduism, unlike most religions, is not based on a book or single author, but is a gathering of many authors writings which all come from many different times periods (Garcia). This has caused Hinduism to be shaped by the many cultures it has been introduced too over the millennia. One of the earliest influences on Hinduism comes from the people called Dravidians which were located in the Indus River Valley, where is now present day Pakistan (Religious Studies Center). Sakamoto and Managi (2016) believe fossil fuel is the likely reason that temperatures have been rising from greenhouse gases, increasing the CO2 emissions (p. 1). With depleting resources, it may be a good idea to look more seriously at renewable energy (Sakamoto Managi, 2016, p. 16). More governments have been trying to create policies to encourage usage of renewable energy. However, it has been debated what is the best way to enforce renewable energy. An increase in marginal cost of nonrenewable resources will drive more consumers to renewable resources. On the other hand, a tax on nonrenewable energy does not have the same effect. Sakamoto and Managi (2016) discovered: The introduction of the tax on the nonrenewable energy sector leads to the reduction of nonrenewable energy use and an acceleration of renewable energy use, but the acceleration is not enough to keep the pre tax level of production... because the marginal cost of renewable energy is high as renewable energy use increases (p. 15). A tax on nonrenewable energy leads to an increase in marginal cost of renewable energy. Less consumers were interested in buying when prices on renewable energy rose. Another way governments have been trying to implement renewable energy is through feed in tariffs. Feed in tariffs usually consist of some type of purchase obligation and also a tariff payment on renewable energy that is fixed for every unit of electricity (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43). The grid operator involved in the purchase obligation must buy the renewable electricity no matter what (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43). The producer has the right to a certain amount of money for every unit of electricity that they produce (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43). In this essay I will be discussing the extent that Dmitri Shostakovich adhered to and rebelled from the conventions and traditions that were normalized in classical music and I will offer varied examples of the many times Shostakovich has obeyed and dissented within music throughout his career. The career span of Shostakovich extends from 1926 when he presented his first major work, Symphony No.1 to 1970 when he presented Quartet No. 7. Born Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich on the 25th September, 1906, in St. Petersburg, Russia, the composer began his descent into classical music at the age of 9, before later moving on to study at the Petrograd conservatory. Throughout his life he compiled 15 symphonies, 15 string quartets and 36 film scores as well as many other compositions. Within his musical work and the course of his career Shostakovich managed to both adhere to traditions set within classical music as well as dissent from them, I will be exploring these. I would first like to address what traditions are associated with classical music to highlight how Shostakovich dissented from these. I will begin by briefly explaining the definition of chamber music, the definition of chamber music is Instrumental music played by a small ensemble, with one player to a part, the most important form being the string quartet. Part 2:As can be observed, the more mass the cart has, the more energy (GPE and KE) it gets. Moreover, GP and KE depend on mass and the velocity doesn t depend on mass so if the height is the same, the velocity is constant. Some energy is wasted as heat and sound makes the KE is less than GPE. According to the Law of conservation of energy, there is no wasted energy in terms of transformation between GPE and KE but as can be seen from the table 2, KE is slightly smaller than GPE due to the frictions, which occur during the movement of the ... Kaiser examines how Jeanne Antoinette Poisson rose to become Madame de Pompadour, a very influential mistress to the King of France. Her rise was seen in both positive and negative lights, with her acquisition of power being questioned from those within the royal family and the public1. The life of a mistress was never an easy one, but Jeanne Antoinette Poisson rose to the daunting task and succeeded where most had failed. Thomas E. The defamation from the parti devot spread through the court and eventually spilled over to the general public, but despite their best efforts Madame de Pompadour was there to stay and that was breeding discontent within the royal family 10. Those who sought to have Pompadour removed developed a plan for who to dissuade King Louis from his growing affection and slander the royal favorite. Being a mistress of low birth was one point that continued to be pushed towards the King, in the hopes of shaming him to the point of dismissing Pompadour 11. This beginning disdain for Pompadour and her ever growing influence with the King began to spill over into public opinion. Madame de Pompadour was given a wide area of influence and power which she used to take on many artistic endeavors. Her many artistic enterprises and their considerable costs were viewed to be responsible for the monarchy levying taxes in an already stressed time 12. When the monarchy began to acknowledge the public protest against Madame de Pompadour and her spending, the monarchy responded by lying publicly about the expenses and even went so far as to exile an official who divulged the true cost of some of her undertakings 13. This resentment continued to grow with the theater which Madame de Pompadour founded in Versailles 14. This theater played an important part in how Pompadour would continue to influence King ... The government ignored the rise of the epidemic. For example, there were no AIDS related research, prevention, and treatments. Films such as John Carpenter s Halloween and Wes Craven s A Nightmare on Elm Street involve supernaturally based serial killers who commit murders in the name of revenge. The gory nature and explicit violence lead people to wonder why these monsters are created. Deep in the typical human subconscious, there are fears and impulses that can only be released through these films. When we watch horror films, we try our hardest to relate to the victims only to find out that we are more connected to the villain. Each time the killer slits the blonde cheerleaders throat or the demon drags the handsome football star to the greatest depths of hell, we feel as if it is well deserved. • 38. Solar Energy Advantages And Disadvantages Solar energy can be use today in a variety of ways. Probably because today, more and more people are understanding the advantages of solar energy as our solar technology increases and the cost of fossil fuels rises. Solar energy systems today can now used to power homes, cars, appliances in a ways of like Photovoltaic panels, Heating water, Lighting etc. Solar Photovoltaic panels The most common form of solar energy used today are photovoltaic solar panels, which absorb the sun s light to create electricity. These solar panels can be attached to homes as a primary or secondary source of electric power. They can also be used for small appliances and machines which only need small amounts of electricity for use. Large scale photovoltaic panel plants have also been constructed to provide power to many homes. Solar cels convert sunlight directly into electricity. Solar cells are often used to power calculators and watches. They are made of semiconducting materials similar to those used in computer chips. When sunlight is absorbed by these materials, the solar energy knocks electrons loose from their atoms, allows the electrons to flow through the material to produce electricity. This process of converting light (photons) to electricity (voltage) is called the photovoltaic(PV)effect. Solar cells are typically combined into modules that hold about 40 cells; a number of these modules are mounted in PV arrays that can measure up to several meters on a side. These flat plate PV arrays can be mounted at a fixed angle facing south, or they can be mounted on a tracking device that follows the sun, allowing them to capture the most sunlight over the course of a day. Several connected PV arrays can provide enough power for a household; for large electric utility or industrial applications, hundreds of arrays can be interconnected to form a single, large PV system. Solar lighting One of the easiest way to improve home efficiency is to add outdoor solar lighting to your property. It has a small population of almost 24million but has a high rate of extensive deforestation and degradation since the later 18th century during European settlement. Most of Australia, around 7.6million km2,is covered in dry desert unsuitable for forest growth, but the thriving coastal and hills areas have seen decline in forest cover and quality over the last 60 years, especially between 1999 and 200 where an average of 325,900 hectares were being wiped out each year. • 42. Women s Dress And Dress Introduction France in the 18th witnessed a huge modification in the aesthetic standard in dress for women, whether in terms of material, style and appearance (Rothstein, 1999: 2). French fashion had successively experienced several distinctive stages. For instance, Rococo (luxury court style showing femininity, slimness and mannerism) was in stark contrast to the Baroque (characteristic with dignity and elegance). However, since the 1870s, the Enlightenment and the French Evolution had exerted a profound effect on the women s dress in France. In this way, this essay intends to review the development of women s dress and draw a contrast with the English dress within the same era. Critical Review of Sources Generally speaking, French fashion was in ascendency throughout the Europe, which received extensive attention about all respects concerning French women s dress and French fashion. The robe volante in the 1730s well displayed the overall loose shape, which, however, failed to represent the most distinctive feature of the huge flounce as well as pleats on the back. Moreover, the understructure was also not clearly shown and introduced. The Mantua in 1708 well displayed the design, materials, colours and patterns, which corresponded to the dress at that time. However, the colourful silk and well as other design details made it seem more likely to be the characteristics of the Rococo. The Robe a la francaise in from 1775 1800 showed the changes in women s dress ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Bill Of Rights Of The Individual Citizen Adrianne Jauregui Homework Assig. #1 12/01/2014 Bill of Rights The protection and civil rights for the individual citizen is documented as the Bill of Rights. Today, the two most important of are The English Bill of Rights of 1689 and The United States Bill of Rights of 1791. These two have the many of the same overlapping principles including, limiting the powers of the government and to providing people with individual liberties. Although they are both fundamental documents, both countries differed in form and purpose. The U.S enacted a formal statement of Fundamental rights of the people of the United States and integrated it into the Constitution as Amendments. It is used to address the liberties of individual citizens and keep the government from exceeding their boundaries for potential abuse. In contrast, the English Bill was enacted by the English Parliament, which was a reinstatement in statutory form of The Declaration of Right. It was to confront issues of relation to the king rather than parliamentary authority. Essentially, these two formed a new democratic government that changed everything. In detail, The United States established a collective name for the ten amendments to the Constitution, the Bill of rights. However, the English adopted an act unlike the U.S. and most countries that have a constitution. England has no codified constitution meaningm a single document with key provisions. What are the implications of your analysis for our understanding of technological innovations? You are advised to choose technologies we have been discussing in the lectures and seminars. There is no denying that technology has been an ever apparent part of the human society. Today, technology is used in a variety of ways and is essential for the survival of the human society. While technology is wholly accepted as an essential part of life, there has always been a debate whether it is technology that revolutionizes society or society that influences technology, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It views technology as the utilization of existing scientific knowledge in society. For example, the creation of a laptop, which stemmed from the creation of the computer or the steam boat which came about due to the application of 2 previous inventions, the boat and the steam engine (Petrakaki, 2014). Hence it argues that these creations cannot be considered new as it draws upon something that already exists and not disembodied inspiration as mentioned by MacKenzie and Wajcman (1985). In Social Determinism, technology does have a limited amount of power as it may open up more opportunities, however the choice to exploit it remains in society s power (White, 1978). Technology is not independent and requires an existing infrastructure to be able to run, like a mobile phone, which requires connections with network towers before it can be used to make phone calls. Social Determinism also talks about how the shaping of technology can be due to economic, political, cultural reasons and by social norms. In terms of economic reasons, the progress in technology has often been linked with improving profit or revenue margins as well as reducing costs (Petrakaki, 2014). For example, the assembly line, which came about in the 1800s, was made to improve the efficiency and reduce costs for companies, as it required lesser manpower (Walker, 1952). Culture does shape technology, as the same form of technology may possess different features in different countries. For example, in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A metropolitan area is a region that consists of a densely populated urban core and its less populated surrounding areas that are economically and socially linked to it. The criteria of defining metropolitan areas changed in 2003. Smaller MSAs remained the same, but larger metropolitan areas, previously referred to as consolidated metropolitan statistical areas (CMSAs) are now defined as MSAs (see figure 1). Different portions of CMSAs, previously referred to as primary metropolitan statistical areas (PMSAs), have been redefined and reconfigured as metropolitan divisions. For example, the old New York CMSA consisted of eleven counties in two states and four PMSAs: New York PMSA, Nassau Suffolk PMSA, Dutchess County PMSA and Newburgh, NY PA PMSA (see figure 2). The current New York MSA consists of twenty three counties in three states and four metropolitan divisions. Metropolitan divisions do not perfectly substitute for PMSAs, as they have different size thresholds (2.5 million vs. 1 million population), but they come as close to representing homogenous units as we can come with current census geography. • 48. Increasing Gun Control Legislation Kasha Sullivan 1 27 16 Increasing Gun Control Legislation A/intro? In 2000, nearly 30,000 people died due to uncontrollable gun violence, even though the US has many gun laws. Gun control is now one of the main political issues because of all the shootings in the past decade. There have been many studies taken on gun control, which shows more gun control decreases deaths with a gun involved. B The Second Amendment in our constitution, is one that is commonly mistaken. The Second Amendment does not state that a single citizen has the right to protect themselves with a gun. Most people do not know the text actually says, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All that should happen is certain types of guns shouldn t be accessible to the public. For example, a war zone gun like an M 16 should not be available to the general public because it is not used to hunt and is not a reasonable gun to carry simply to bare arms. Gun control would also put more restrictions on who can purchase a gun, because some people are not in the right state of mind to own a gun. Manufacturers might also be required to make all guns child proof. It s simple, if guns are available to everyone and anyone, gun violence will not be taken as seriously as it should be. Also, while more gun legislation is needed, the already existing gun laws on the state and national levels need to be strictly enforced. For example, it is a national law that in order to purchase a gun, a background check is required, but not all states enforce this law properly. Conclusion There are currently over 200 million guns in use, which means obtaining a gun in the United States mustn t be that hard. If gun usage could be regulated more by banning certain unneeded weapons to the public and requiring a more in depth background check, than miss usage of guns, and deaths caused by them would decrease. However, already existing laws need to be enforced and harsher penalties for those who don t follow the laws. • 50. The Stranger After only a few days of trial, the jury in The Stranger declares that the main character, Meursault, is to be executed by guillotine in the town square. The trial and its verdict are one of the important parts of the novel, as Albert Camus uses them as a metaphor to summarize the two main tenets of absurdism. Camus uses the trial and persecution of Meursault to express his belief that the justice system is flawed because of his absurdist ideals that truth does not exist, and human life is precious. In order to reform the justice system, Albert Camus believes that capital punishment needs to be abolished. The trial portrays the absurdist ideal that absolute truth does not exist. This ideal destroys the very purpose of the trial, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All the facts the prosecutor presents are valid and true, though unrelated to his case. From the prosecutor s point of view, Meursault is a monster, a man without morals (96). Even Meursault agrees that what he was saying was plausible (99). The reader, who knows all of Meursault s thoughts, knows how absurd the prosecution s accusations are. Throughout the trial, Camus explains that perception means everything, and there is no absolute truth. The conviction of Meursault represents another main point of absurdism, that life is precious. It only takes forty five minutes for an entire jury to unanimously decide to send Meursault to the guillotine, which is unreasonable. Camus is trying to point this out as one of society s wrongdoings. The prosecutor s argument had appealed to the jury s emotions and society s standards rather than reason. If the jury had not felt the emotions that were supposed to influence their decision, the prosecutor s argument would have seemed completely irrational. In a rational world, Meursault s emotions regarding his mother or her funeral would not have influenced his verdict. Meursault commits a crime against an Arab, while Raymond, who had also done so earlier in the book, did not get into any trouble. He would still be found guilty, but only for the crime he committed. This would have definitely lightened his sentence; however, Meursault is sentenced to death. Camus proves the court s hypocrisy and shows how human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
