Networked Essay
Networked (A Certain Scientific Railgun SI) #02.5
It had been quite some time since I d been anything but the driver, it was... nice, and it felt good to just
put the seat back and be a passenger as the Sister drove through the city. It was relaxing, and quiet,
with none of the rage inducing stupidity I d experienced whenever commuting. Although, it might
have been more enjoyable were the Sister not insistent on making conversation. Unfortunately for her,
the topics were ones that I d just rather not get involved with.
Additionally, Misaka 10091 has been most insistent as she has come to the deluded conclusion that by

thing, you and the other Misaka s have going on with the boy.
Another pregnant silence descended on the van as the Sister came to a stop at a busy intersection.
I see and I apologize, she finally said, Misaka simply assumed that because she and several others
went through a great deal of effort to acquire objects for your dormitory that you would be more
conducive to assisting her in this relatively minor matter. It seems she was mistaken.
I blinked and playing her words back a kernel of guilt seeded itself in my guts. She was doing it on
purpose. I knew it she was doing it on purpose she d said so herself but... I sighed in resignation and
sank back into the seat. Probably should have figured one of them would get to me, though, especially
considering how often they guilted their Big Sister . Fine. I ll tell you what I was planning to tell
Mikoto, is that acceptable?
Yes. However, Misaka does request Aka refrains from giving the same advice for as long as she can.
Not give the same advice? Oh. The competitiveness. I could just see it: Misaka sees other Sister barely
hanging onto a cliff. Sister uses (Stomp on Fingers)... It s super effective! Long live the king.
I shook my head at the silly visual despite knowing it probably wasn t too far off the mark. Sure.
Well... basically, the best thing you can do is to keep things simple. I m not say to be blatant or
excessive in conveying your affection for him, but don t bother using subtlety. Teenage

Cost Of Construction Of Sewage Treatment Plant
6.1 Results There are two classifications of costs associated with construction projects, direct costs
and indirect costs. Direct costs include the labor, material and equipment operating costs necessary to
put work in place. Indirect costs include supervision, job and home office overhead, profit, financing,
and the cost of inflation. Direct costs can be allocated to each activity on the project. Indirect costs, on
the other hand, cannot be realistically prorated and assigned to each separate activity. Case study

I believe it was a Michael Buble Concert at MSG, and I missed it as I was away on my

opened for the season...Live events help bring out the exciting adventurous side of my personality, as

I want peace and culture that I feel through ballet and opera but still need high energy of dance events
and louder type music. I feel lucky to live in the great city so I feel happy any time I am able to attend
a music/dance event...I am going to see Chaka Khan at Bandshell in prospect park next. Magdalena
A live event brings out my sense of adventure. You NEVER know what will happen, who will show
up and where an event will take you emotionally. That is also what I get out of live theatre too! Also,
you never know what will go wrong. It reinforces the fact that the show must go on (and it does) and
that you should not be afraid of live as a performer. I would enjoy attending more live performances or
entertainment as a consumer, but my schedule does not always allow it between work, rehearsal or my
own performances. Josh

Community is a place where everyone should feel comfortable being in and acknowledge one another

Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal and is one of the most developed cities throughout the country , but
still coming from a well developed community , our community still faced several problems which
lacked moral values and infrastructural developments within the community. Although our
communities lacked on certain things , people in our community were still able to provide a good

Saudi Arabi An Arab Nation
Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia is an Arab nation located on the Arabian Peninsula. Though there is
evidence that this peninsula has been inhabited for over 15,000 years, Saudi Arabia is a very young
country. Since King Abdulaziz Al Saud established the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932, its
transformation has been astonishing. In a few short decades, the Kingdom has turned itself from a
desert nation to a modern, sophisticated state and a major player on the international stage.
(saudiembassy.net) Saudi Arabia is rich with culture and valuable natural resources that make it a key
player in today s market. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as its officially known is the largest Arab state

Saudi Arabia s geographic location made it a strategic dream during the liberation of Kuwait. In 1991,
Saudi Arabian, American and allied forces were involved both in bombing raids on Iraq and in the
land invasion that helped to liberate Kuwait. The Saudi military consists of the Royal Saudi Land
Forces, the Royal Saudi Air Force, the Royal Saudi Navy, the Royal Saudi Air Defense, the Saudi
Arabian National Guard (SANG, an independent military force), and paramilitary forces, totaling
nearly 200,000 active duty personnel (lcweb2.loc.gov). Saudi Arabia, once a country of small cities
and towns, has become increasingly urban; traditional centers such as Jiddah, Mecca, and Medina
have grown into large cities, and the capital, Riyadh, a former oasis town, has grown into a modern
metropolis. Many of the region s traditional nomads, the Bedouin, are in cities or agrarian
communities. The sedentary population of the country views those few Bedouin who maintain the
traditional desert lifestyle with deep ambivalence. They are, at the same time, the link to the country s
past and its solid foundation (Teitelbaum). Although most of Saudi Arabia is uninhabited, it still boasts
a population of more than 27.3 million people. They use modern forms of communication such as
cellular phones, satellite television, and the internet. Broadcast media is state controlled and internet
use is limited, but in 2009, there were nearly 10 million internet users in the country.

Absurdity In Eugene Ionesco
Eugene Ionesco is also a very famous writer of absurd theater. He focused on isolation and exhaustion
of man s life and also gave his ironical views on spiritless situation of man in his life. His work
expressed alienation of modern man and failure of communication and also loss of meaning. His plays
like bold Soprano, The lesson, Rhinoceros they also depict man s lack of communication with himself
and with others in the society. Bold Soprano, the chairs are fully in non sequiturs, dialogues and the
language of characters are without thinking. His plays also show the tragedy of modern man in this
world and his loss of meaningful words is very much there and all his plays are lack of rational

For Samuel Beckett absurdity is abstract dilemma it deals with unreal ad philosophical ideas. To
Eugene Ionesco absurdity is related with concrete things but both of these writes are adhered to the
same idea and this is reflected in their plays, that absurdity is always the result of linguistic deficiency
in modern man life, failures in communication, impossibility of expressing the ideas through
language. They unveil the tragic situation of human being and elaborate personal disruption of modern
man from his self, his disgruntlement plight, insufficiency and meagerness of language.
There is not enough work and that s why linguistic deficiency becomes a unique topic for research.
Language is researched in some ways, like long sentences, speeches yet but the way linguistic
deficiency leads to torments and fragmentation of individuals and further leads to modern man tragedy
is a very unique topic for research. Beckett s Eng Game is also explored by many researchers in
different ways, in terms of characterization, in terms of thematic concerns, time, absurdity, there is
also work on absurd language but that is not enough especially when it comes to linguistic deficiency
and its dire consequence in a absurd drama and in modern man s life is unique one and its need to be

Minimum Drinking Age Limitations
Lowering the Minimum Drinking Age Limits and Its Effects
Government officials and citizens alike have debated whether the drinking age laws should be lowered
to eighteen once again. MLDA twenty one does not work and is being ignored by minors and adults.
Even lower drinking ages imposed in other countries are working, judging by their lower death rates.
By enabling people eighteen and under to drink, the economy would grow. The minimum legal
drinking age limit should be reverted back to the original eighteen years old.
The minimum legal drinking age laws were originally spurred into movement when Candy Lightner
founded the Mothers Against Drunk Driving organization. Candy created the organization because her
13 year old daughter Cari was struck dead by a drunk 48 year old hit and run driver on May 3, 1980.
They published a considerable amount of essays and research claiming that teenage drunk driving was
out of control, even though her daughter s killer was just about 50. Candy Lightner even stated, I didn
t start MADD to deal with alcohol. I started MADD to deal with the issue of drunk driving. (May 1,
2016) This gave the government and the country an attitude that people were pointlessly dying, thus
leading to the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984. ... Show more content on

Persecution In Religion
Persecution in the church was expected and even prized as martyrs believed suffering brought them
closer to Christ. But the church abused this understanding and created a cult of saints reflective of the
old paganism of Rome. The purpose of this paper is to explore the early church and the persecution
and criticisms that it went through. A background of the causes of such oppression will also be
discussed as well as the role that Christians at that time played during this time of hurt. This paper will
utilize the time frame of the first and second century and will highlight the role of the rulers at that
time and their effect on the early church.

This marks the beginning of the persecution that the early church underwent in the first and second

Children Should Receive The Mmr Vaccine
Americans are on fire over a hot topic controversy regarding vaccinations to vaccinate, or not to
vaccinate? More specifically, people are vividly debating whether or not children should receive the
MMR vaccine. The injection itself was created in order to prevent infection of measles, mumps, and
rubella all of which are viruses that cause serious illnesses, and even death. Several thousand people in
the United States, commonly referred to as anti vaxxers, are choosing to defer the vaccination of their
children because they believe it causes more harm than good. Two main speculations sparking the
MMR debate are the accusation that it causes autism and has side effects that are far more negative
than the benefit of immunity. Despite these accusations, the MMR vaccine is, without a doubt,
providing resistance to illnesses that can lead to death. Therefore, Americans should continue to
vaccinate their children with the MMR.
In spite of the evidence that the MMR vaccine provides protection against these illnesses, scientists
and parents alike argue that it causes autism. Autism is a disorder with an early onset in life in which
the development of the central nervous system is disrupted. The pathophysiology and etiology are not
known at this time (Singh). According to an analysis published in the Journal of Biomedical Sciences,
Researchers discovered that because many autistic children harbor elevated levels of measles

Mass Media, Subversions, And Human Thinking
Do People have free will to decide what they need in this lifetime or does rhetoric decide for
mankind? In fact, rhetoric for thousands of years has been the culprit behind human thinking when it
comes to purchasing goods. According, to Aristotle rhetoric, is the art of persuasion , that doesn t
follow a set of rules like other disciplines of the Arts. The definitions of rhetoric aren t confined, but
open to change when a spectator interprets the message. All things considered, the roles of mass
media, subversions, and analyzing a commercial affect the human mind while using rhetoric. In other
words, mass media play a major role in influencing People thinking through rhetorical discourse like
sensationalism evoking a reaction from its viewership. For one thing, speeches, no longer have the
effectiveness to convince people. Furthermore, the public opinions vary when it comes to biases,
politics, and economics because they ve heard only one side of the evidence that s has been reported.
To put it differently, rhetorical concepts have been conditioning the viewer s perceptions with sound
bites, imagery, and tone of languages naming some of the rhetorical devices of many. However, the
mind can be complicated in deciphering the writer s intention through mediums. When this happens, it
s called aberrant decoding a person takes on a meaning and subverts the message into its own
understanding.
Theorist Michael De Certeau aberrant decoding shows how some

Childhood Obesity Is A Growing Epidemic
Childhood obesity is a growing epidemic. The UK has estimated through their schools National Child
Measurement Program that one third of the children there are overweight, and by 2050 that number
could rise to an alarming two thirds (Phillips 2). There are many uncontrollable factors in childhood
obesity such as the environment, income and genetics. However, parents are the most overlooked
factor. Our children s futures, with regard to their eating habits, are in the hands of their parents.
Ultimately, children grow into adults who make their own choices, but parents can have a positive
effect on the children s health in their childhood. By focusing on the parental factor, an immense
decrease in childhood obesity is obtainable. Parents must consider how the environment they choose
to raise their child in can affect their child s health. In rural environments, people can live off of
healthy, home grown food. If a child lives in the city, parents may have a harder time finding healthy,
affordable options for their family. For example, when comparing cities like Atlanta, Georgia to a rural
farm town like Jesup, Georgia, it is apparent that bigger cities lack resources that would keep
vegetables fresh and on hand at all times. Nevertheless, parents would still need to opt for these
healthier choices, instead of processed food or fast food. Even if these options are available, the major
concern parents have is whether they can afford buying healthier alternatives which

The Feminist Movement Essay
The changes that occurred in gender relations at the turn of the twentieth century were a factor in the
emergence of modernism. The first wave of the Feminist Movement began during this period with the
New Woman as its protagonist. The New Woman was a figure that was independent, relatively
sexually liberated and educated. Many women no longer lived their lives according to the Victorian
ideal required for them and it became more acceptable for women to be seen unaccompanied outdoors
and working in certain types of employment. The new woman was perceived as being a treat to men
and after the First World War the independence that women enjoyed received a repercussion as

(Port 2001, 205) According to Sigmund Freud, a man about thirty still appears youthful and is still
opened up to the possibilities of change and development. However, a woman of the same age, often

strenuous efforts that she invests in staving off the effects of aging in order to achieve the effects of

A woman s ability to appear beautiful and desirable is threatened by the lack of financial resources as

Modern society through the desires of advertising and consumer culture places women under pressure

Lack of understanding of benefits or accessibility massive barrier to entry
London, Date: Having completed research in the use of cloud technology by SMEs, cloud application
dashboard provider the business insights dashboard for SMEs, 9 Spokes has concluded that the
majority of UK SMEs are missing out on the potentially huge benefits of cloud technology due to lack
of time and understanding of how these can be accessed.

It s clear that while time is a huge problem, for those SMEs who can take the time to research and
implement such solutions, the knock on benefits are potentially enormous.
Demonstrating further how SMEs struggle with the use of new technology, 9 Spokes research shows
that additional concerns re cloud based apps include compatibility (77%), expense (76 ) and poor
usability (76%) of these services.
Says Mr Estall, This is unfortunate as many of the best apps have invested heavily in providing user
friendly, light touch solutions for SMEs that are scalable and flexible in terms of what they offer, as
well as their fee structure. For example, accounting packages can start as low as £10 per month while
some marketing/ analytic solutions provided their basic services at no cost.
While many SMEs (71%) turn to advisors to help them navigate these challenges, it s clear that easily
usable, well priced apps will have an advantage when engaging with SMEs. Importantly, over half
(54%) of SME decision makers say that personal experiences influence their choice of business
software or apps. As a result, solutions that gain the most SME users are those that tend to have some
overlap with personal use Facebook, Paypal, Twitter, Google and Instagram.
Customer / employment management and accounting / finance apps are some of the most actively

Cleopatra- A sign of times Essay
Cleopatra: A Sign of the Times by Diana Lerman
For Rome, who had never condescended to fear any nation or people, did in her time fear two human
beings; one was Hannibal, and the other was a woman (Lefkowitz 126).
Abstract
Cleopatra VII, the last reigning queen of Egypt, has intrigued us for centuries. Her story is one that has
been told many times, and the many different and vastly varied representations of her and her story are
solely based on the ways in which men and society have perceived women and their role in society
throughout history. By looking at the perceptions of women starting from the Hellenes, the Greeks
who greatly influenced Roman ideals, and following those perceptions through to the end of the 19th
Century, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Retelling a speech that he believes Octavian may have said to his soldiers he writes: [w]e Romans are
the rulers of the greatest and best parts of the world and yet we find ourselves spurned and trampled
upon by a [woman] of Egypt… (52). He continues with Roman propaganda retelling the great
accomplishments of Roman forefathers and then stresses that the men who have achieved these feats
of arms…would be cut to the heart if ever they knew that we have been overcome by this pestilence
of a [woman]… (53). He verbally attacks the Egyptian culture and drives home his dislike of them
and their barbarisms by saying worst of all, they are not ruled by a man, but are the slaves of a
[woman] (53). In conclusion he writes:
But, in the end, I cannot describe to you any greater prize that that of upholding the renown which
your forefathers won, of preserving the proud tradition of your native lands, of punishing those who
have rebelled against us, of conquering and ruling over all mankind, and [of allowing no woman to
make herself equal to a man] (55).
The dislike of women in positions of power and the absolute necessity to deprive them of this power
can be seen in Dio s writing. Dio stresses Cleopatra s gender and makes it the supreme motivator for
the ensuing war with Egypt by the marking the importance of conquering Cleopatra and removing her
from her throne.
Cleopatra s political power is further reduced in the

Rewards
Rewards
Companies reward their employees with both tangible goods, as well as praise. For example, a sales
department may offer a monthly bonus to the highest earner. Not all tangible rewards come in the form
of money. Some companies host free lunches, or give away company gear to good workers. Many
managers choose to reward their best employees by simply praising them for a job well done, or by
recognizing the hard work they put in to a project.
Workplace reward systems are incentive programs that encourage employee engagement and
productivity by offering bonuses, increased pay, additional time off or other awards for a job well
done. Reward systems recognize staff members who excel in areas such as customer service, loyalty

The appreciation of those skills can be a greater motivator than any reward or threat.
Employees need direction. A flaw with consequence based leadership styles is that it doesn t tell
employees how to succeed. It tells them they must succeed, but not how to do so. That doesn t mean
that transactional leadership doesn t work. It just means that employees still need some direction from
above. When leaders are more involved, employees know they can count on them to provide a
direction.
Transactional leadership can encourage unethical behavior. When in their best interest, employees can
resort to unethical means to achieve results. The temptation of rewards and fear of consequences is
compelling. It can encourage deception or illegal activity. Employees may sabotage the company s
interests in pursuit of their own. As a precaution, businesses need to be clear on the terms employees
must work under. Employees are also less likely to resort to unethical behavior when their leaders are
able to earn their loyalty.
This is not to say that transactional leadership does not work. Rewards and punishments are great tools
to motivate. However, they may be far more effective when combined with other leadership styles and
motivation tools. Making employees feel included can provide greater motivation and overall
satisfaction.
The transactional style has always been effective. It has also been overused by many companies.

Thoughts of War in Big Two Hearted River by Ernest...
In Big Two Hearted River, Ernest Hemingway used his own experiences he had during the war and
the issues he had when injured in the war. As soon as Nick stepped off the train the reader could feel
the disappointment that Nick had and the understanding that he was a troubled soul. At the same time
this was Nick s way to treat himself by staying close to nature and the simpler things in life. No matter
how happy Nick would get he would continue to have flashbacks of things he has done and friends he
has lost along the way. Throughout the short story by Hemingway, Nick will continue to move through
his problems from the war by camping and catch his food from the river and the reader will be able to

For instance, Nick enjoyed watching trout in the water it was something he hasn t seen in forever. He
watched them holding themselves with their noses into the current, many trout in deep, fast moving
water, slightly distorted as he watched far down through the glassy convex surface of the pool, its
surface pushing and swelling smooth against the resistance of the log driven piles of the bridge.
(Hemingway 1925) Hemingway was explaining that Nick was using this to help himself cope with
things in life as an example of what Nick s wants in life or self realization. Hemingway writes later in
the story when Nick sees the big trout in the river and decides not to go after it. Perhaps Nick sees it as
the swamp is the misery in his life and the trout is the feeling way down deep that he does not want to
obtain until he is ready. It seems that memories are the only hindrance that would keep him from
getting closer to being fulfilled. The next day for Nick went fishing Hemingway continues to describe
Nick s groundwork for fishing before he goes into the river. Once Nick had gone into the water
Hemingway described the feelings that Nick felt He stepped into the stream. It was a shock. His

Spoon River Anthology Analysis
Margaret, Fully a Slacker Everyone has a novel within them or at least thinks they do. Unfortunately,
few manage to get that novel out of their heads and into print. In Edgar Lee Masters Spoon River
Anthology, Margaret Fuller Slack is certain that she would have been a famous novelist, except
obligations to her family got in the way of actually writing a book. She is unendingly bitter about how
her life turned out. Margaret urges readers to ignore the pull of outside forces and to specifically
ignore the pull of sex, which she claims ruined her life. However, between the lines Masters cleverly
shows that the blame for dreams unrealized lie with Margaret herself. Through Margaret s story,
Masters studies how a person can cause their own unsuccess and still genuinely blame everyone but
herself. From the very beginning, Margaret establishes herself as a very talented writer, full of
potential. Masters introduces Margaret in three names: first, maiden, and last. Most women in the

Higher Power In George Orwell s 1984
What would happen if the government or another form of power could decide what is real and what is
not? What if one day you woke up and your favorite fun fact or best known memory of the war had
been vaporized overnight? Within George Orwell s dystopian novel titled 1984 there is a perfect
example of a higher power that controls the reality of the population. In this story the higher power,
known as Big Brother, has the power to manipulate facts, the history, and even the thoughts of the
population. The majority of citizens in this book follow Big Brother and whole heartedly believe in all
that The Party has to say, but not Winston. The main character of this story, Winston, knows of many
alterations made to history. Maybe the entire population knows the real truth, but if Big Brother has
the ability to vaporize people, places, or events in history; where is the proof? It has been made clear
all throughout this novel that, yes, Big Brother definitely has the ability to decide what is real and
what is not. The Party does this by making certain people, items, or events completely disappear and
making it clear to the population who is in charge. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Development of Character in Cormac McCarthy s All the Pretty Horses
In a journey across the vast untamed country of Mexico, Cormac McCarthy introduces All the Pretty
Horses, a bittersweet and profoundly moving tale of love, hate, disappointments, joy, and redemption.
John Grady sets out on horseback to Mexico with his best friend Lacey Rawlins in search of the
cowboy lifestyle. His journey leaves John wiser but saddened, yet out of this heartbreak comes the
resilience of a man who has claimed his place in the world as a true cowboy. In his journey John s
character changes and develops throughout the novel to have more of a personal relationship with the
horses and Mother Nature. He changes from a young boy who knows nothing of the world ... Show

However, he doesn t see beyond the repercussions of owning a ranch, the dedication and responsibility
associated with running a ranch. Mr. Franklin teaches him to look beyond the fact that owning a ranch
is a not as simple as it might seem especially for a six teen year old boy.
In his journey across the landscape of Mexico, John s character in the novel begins to transform. He is
beginning to move away from that boyish and naive kind of behavior and more towards the middle
stage of between being a boy and a man; adolescence. McCarthy spends a great deal in describing
John s adolescent s stage in this novel. Much of the time that McCarthy describes in this stage is when
they are out on the prairie with the horses connecting with nature. This connection allows John to have
and a clearer understanding that there is a divine line between men and horses and that you can t apply
the same characteristics that you would apply to a horse to a man. In one instance, after a long day of
riding John and Rawlins decide to stop for the night and rest. As he rests he lays on his back looking,
out where the quartermoon lay cocked over the heel of the mountain s the vision of the moon gives the
reader a sense of time and how it can be different from time on the prairie compared to time in a
society.. Time on the prairie seems to be cocked or suspended in time, a sense that time

Figure 2 Frog Creek. Flikr.com While at Yosemite, why not visit a rockslide? Slide Mountain is a very
interesting area to visit. It is located in the east northern part of the park. These rockslides are part of
the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The very steep bank located at the bottom of Slide Mountain is 3230
meters in elevation. The glacial polish located in the rockslide indicates that Slide Mountain was once
filled with glaciers that eroded the mountain to make it so steep. This is such a wonderful natural
made masterpiece to visit for those interested in the geology of Yosemite. An extremely enjoyable
activity to do while you are there is to rock climb Slide Mountain.

Matterhorn Canyon
Just east of Slide Mountain, you will come across Matterhorn Canyon. This thirteen mile hike is very
famous because you will not find another canyon in Yosemite that compares to this one. This canyon
has a small river flowing in between the walls of Matterhorn Canyon. These walls are scattered with
rocks and meadows. Its cliffs are made out of smooth granite, which are crystallized igneous rock.
Hiking up the trail to the northern boundary of Matterhorn Canyon is Matterhorn Peak. This peak is
very spectacular in that you are able to ascend this peak with the right gear and it is one of the highest

Chem B Experiment Lab Report
The purpose of this lab was to experimentally and scientifically ascertain the percentage of oxygen in
Chem B at Woonsocket High School. It was hypothesized that if the percentage of oxygen is measured
experimentally in Chem B at Woonsocket High School, then it would be higher than the percentage of
oxygen in dry air, which is 20.95%, because the air is not dry due to moisture in the air from people
breathing and the altitude of where the experiment takes place may affect it as well.
To conduct this experiment, a candle was placed upright in a pan of water, was lit, and the flame was
allowed to fully develop. Then a graduated cylinder was placed upside down to represent an airtight
chamber, and the water rose. The point where it rose to was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The number of people in the room, contributing to the humidity, is one of the contributing factors to
the change in percentages of oxygen. The condensation of a person s exhaled breath is a factor that
also minimally contributes to the humidity in the atmosphere. Humidity is the amount of water vapor
in the air at any given moment. When a person exhales, it marginally impacts the relative humidity,
and, due to common sense, if there is more people in the room, there is a greater level of humidity.
The percentage of oxygen in dry air is 20.95%. However, the air is not always dry. Thus, the
percentage of oxygen cannot always be the same if humidity is always changing. Furthermore, dew
point temperature is the absolute measure of the amount of water vapor present in the air. So, if the
temperature is higher, it can hold more water vapor, making warmer climates much more humid than
cooler climates. So, the temperature in the room is also an indirect contributing factor to the
percentage of oxygen in the air. The distance above sea level is thought to potentially affect the
percentages of oxygen. Nonetheless, it has been established that the percentage of oxygen molecules
is always the same when considering altitude. This is because air is compressible, so the weight of all
the air above applies pressure to the air at that particular altitude, making that air at

A Comparison Of Life And Respiration For Speech
A Comparison of Respiration for Life and Respiration for Speech Respiration is a necessary bodily
function in sustaining life. Its basic objective is to oxygenate blood and remove carbon dioxide by way
of four stages: ventilation, distribution, perfusion, and diffusion (Seikel, Drumright, King, 2016, p.
147). Respiration is also vital to the production of speech, but the way in which respiration occurs
while producing speech is different than the process of respiration for life in a few ways. Respiration
for life is a passive process while respiration for speech is an active process, requiring some conscious
effort. During respiration for speech, the respiration cycle is altered in order to maintain appropriate

Thoracic muscles involved in forced expiration include the interosseous portion of the internal
intercostals, innermost intercostals, transversus thoracis, subcostals, and serratus posterior inferior.
The function of the interosseous portion of the internal intercostals and the innermost intercostals is to
depress ribs 1 11. The transversus thoracis are found on the inner surface of the rib cage and function
to depress the rib cage for forced expiration. Within the inner wall of the thorax the subcostals can be
found, functioning to depress the thorax. Contraction of the serratus posterior inferior muscles helps to
pull the rib cage down, supporting expiration. Abdominal muscles of expiration include the
transversus abdominis, internal oblique abdominis, external oblique abdominis, rectus abdominis, and
quadratus lumborum. Of all the anterior abdominal muscles, the transversus abdominis is the deepest
and its function is to compress the abdomen. Positioned in between the transversus abdominis and the
external oblique abdominis, the internal oblique abdominis rotates and flexes the trunk as well as
compresses the abdomen. The most superficial and biggest group of abdominal muscles are the
external oblique abdominis. When these muscles contract bilaterally, they flex the vertebral column
and compress the abdomen. When they are contracted unilaterally, they rotate the trunk. The rectus
abdominis muscles run along the midline of the body and are responsible for flexion of the vertebral

Theories Of Narcissism
1) Introduction
In business world, the type and the level of competition have become very complicated and been
changing rapidly. In this competition, environment, survival of the firms/organizations turns out to be
dependent on their ability to follow/adapt these ever changing updates and behaviours with regards to
their requirements.
It is very obvious that employees in organizations have become more sentient and educated than the
past. Individuals expectations get higher and they question their eigenvalue within the organization.
With this changing profile of employees, the management of relationships become more important and
cause changes on effective leadership styles. This also increases the importance of having social and
individual abilities for being a leader.
Lately, narcissism which is a psychological term has started to be attributed with leadership.
Narcissism occurs in a natural process of individual/self development and it is an irresistible
progression. In relation to having healthy and unhealthy duration of ... Show more content on

According to the social learning theory, behaviours are learned by observing other people and
individuals who refine learned behaviour with feedbacks based on their observations In order to
internalize the observed behaviour, the person whose behaviours are observed must have higher status

standards developed by the observer (individual). These standards are related with how the limits are
experienced in childhood and how they are experienced in adulthood. When narcissism is reviewed

Gandhi Servant Leadership
In the contemporary world, the application of servant leadership by individuals and organizations may
be similar or vary significantly depending on the cultural and religious backgrounds. That is for sure
because the Western culture and Christianity execution of servant leadership may have similarities or
differences with other cultures and religious affiliations respectively. Primarily, the global servant
leader of interest in this discussion is Mahatma Gandhi, who demonstrates servant leadership through
the humanitarian work he accomplished in his lifetime.
Despite the differences in cultural and religious backgrounds between the Western Culture and
Mahatma Gandhi s Indian culture, similarities in servant leadership execution are apparent. A case in
point of such similarity of servant leadership application is the humanistic aspect that both Western
Culture and Christian servant leaders, as well as Mahatma Gandhi, demonstrate in their execution of
servant leadership. That is for sure because Mahatma Gandhi invested in his followers needs as well
as supporting, encouraging and inspiring them. All of these aspects demonstrate servant leadership

Gandhi adopted peaceful campaigns in his pursuit of fighting for human rights for the oppressed as

Difference Between Good Guy And Bad Guy
Bad Guy vs Good Guy
Hey Babes, so before I begin I want to thank you for taking part of Inside Life and helping me choose
out this topic!
I m actually super excited to do this topic because I feel like sometimes us as woman or even men
settle for what we think we deserve rather then what we actually deserve and that mainly has to do
with what type of significant other you are associating yourself with! Sometimes we as woman or men
tend to not know the difference between a bad guy and a good guy or we do but we stick around in
hopes they d change! Sometimes we as people tend to attract to our opposite self! Sometimes we as
people get comfortable to who we are with that everything that s being said and done you get so
accustomed to that lifestyle, whether good or bad you don t know what s right or wrong. Mainly the
question is do you know if your significant other is a bad guy or good guy or what s the difference
between the both and whose better ?
So let s begin with them bad guys. Some Women believe that behind every bad guy there s a good,
sensitive, loving and caring man which is true but stubbornness and pride get in the way and they will
never get anywhere in the long run.
Usually Men like this tend to tell women what they want to hear, they are selfish and if doesn t benefit
them they get bored and move on! Men like this Can be authoritative, they tend to belittle there
significant other to make them feel more powerful! Men like this won t motivate you, won t

The reason why this is the way to go is that relational databases are limited in the number of
relationships that can be dug down and analyzed. Using a dimensional model will allow the use of
multi dimensional cubes to be able to pull 3 or more dimensions back into a pivot table. An example
would be Sales by customer service rep by assigned sales territory. This provides a deeper detail of
data than you would be able to get out of a relational database. For each department of the university, I
propose a Data mart for each one. The reason why this is the case is so that every department can
manipulate their own data as they see fit with their own resources because it is on a different server
than another data mart typically. The look and feel of the Data Mart is up to that department and does
not bother the other departments Data Marts. Individual data marts can also increase response time
because there are not as many people hitting them all at one time. If a new department were to pop up,
data mart creation is very easy to do. Each record will be unique based on the primary or composite
keys of the table, and those keys could be surrogate keys such as using AutoNumber like in Microsoft
Access. Depending on the analysis of the data, it may be determined that the ID numbers between
student and teacher are unique and this can be the way to link items together throughout the database.

Unforgettable Character
As important as the plot, narrative, and cast are to a film, the audience s reaction to a film and its
characters is equally relevant. A stronger reaction or connection to a character, either positive or
negative, allows the character to leave a lasting impression on the audience, even if the film s plot
itself is not extraordinary or memorable. An unforgettable character can be the result of their persona,
actions, relationships with others, or the actors or actress performances. Mark, Harry, and Ada are
different characters from various films that elicit positive connections, negative connections, or mixed
emotional feelings in the audience. Through the use of archetypal personality characteristics, non
linear narratives, flashbacks, sweeping wide shots, intense dramatic scenes, somber or sinister music,
and powerfully compelling relationships with other characters, the filmmakers create both strong
positive and negative psychological and emotional connections with the audience to the characters.
The audience who personally associate with family and money struggles generally view Mark, played
by Henry Lau, in a positive light. Mark is a young man who chooses to leave home in Singapore to
save his family restaurant by entering a cooking competition in Shanghai and wins the jackpot. The
narrative is set in modern day Singapore and Shanghai. By using wide, establishing shots of Shanghai

The Legacy Of Captain John Smith s Life Essay
While it is impossible to truly elaborate or even go into much detail on the exploits of Captain John
Smith s life, in this paper I will be covering several of his many achievements. In addition, I will be
dispelling several of the popular myths in regards to his life that many modern day Americans believe
in. Some of these more modern day myths or false narratives are due to his story being adapted and
changed in order to make a children s video by Disney, while others have been debated by historians
ever since they were penned by Smith in one of his most famous works consisting of six volumes: The
Generall Historie of Virginia, New England, and the Summer Isles.
While many cannot picture Smith in any context other than with Pocahontas, he had a very active life
before he even met her. As stated by Woolf, prior to even meeting Pocahontas Smith had been in an
army fighting the Ottoman Turks in central Europe, during which he went through several escapes,
was seriously wounded, taken into slavery, after which he murdered his slave master and escaped,
along with being shipwrecked twice. 1 All of these exploits happened before Smith ended up in
Virginia at the Jamestown colony, and met Pocahontas, the narrative of which most Americans are
intimately familiar with or so they think.
To begin, unlike Disney s portrayal of what most people thought of as an epic romance of the ages,
Pocahontas and John Smith were never intimate with each other. In addition, while being the

Charles Manson s The Night Of The Tate Labianca Murders
Charles Manson was one of the most well known murderers that didn t actually kill anyone, instead he
had people do it for him. Helter Skelter or other known as Charles Manson brainwashed people that
are part of his family into thinking they should kill innocent people just because he told them to. Part 1
of Helter Skelter was mainly about the people involved in his family that he had created, the
detectives that were in charge of the case, and the victims that were murdered and he briefly touches
on what happened the night of August 9th, 1969. The author talks about the night of the murders and

the people that were murdered at 10050 Cielo Drive, like Jay Sebring, who was a hairstylist and
Abigail Folger who was an heiress to the Folger coffee fortune, then he talks about Leno and
Rosemary LaBianca who were the owners and founders of Wholesale Grocery Company. Part 2 of the
book was focused a lot on the girls in the Manson family even though it was titled The Killers , it even
touched on the Hinman murder that had occurred before the Tate LaBianca murders. Susan Atkins,

The similarities are that both opera and oratorio have soloists, ensemble, distinguishable characters,
arias, and choirs. Most of the arias in opera are very similar in musical style, form, nature of the

have strictly Da Capo structure which makes them longer because of repeating. Since many people
didn t like the idea of using of Da Capo and the fact that after the character is done singing exited the
stage, both of these things were abandoned. Today arias are in strophic form as in ballad opera. One
more big similarity between opera and oratorio is that they both have librettos and recitatives that
could be performed not only by a male, but by a female as well. Handel also preferred to write operas

Massachusetts with the band for a competition. I was super excited and couldn t wait to sell all of my
tickets. When the day finally came I was so excited. We rode in a coach bus which was really cool
because I ve never been in one before. When we arrived in Massachusetts we headed over to where
we were having the competition. The competition was being held at a really big school. We performed
and sounded really good. I was super nervous I didn t want to mess up since I had never done that
before.
When we were finally done the competition we got our award handed to us and our tickets to get into
Six Flags. We left the school and head off on our journey to Agawam, Massachusetts where Six Flags
was located. As we got closer and closer there were flags on the side of the road leading us there and
my anticipation grew even stronger. I couldn t wait to get there.
Once we finally arrived everyone couldn t wait to get off the bus and have some fun. I was really
excited. We got off the bus and had a really long walk to get into the park. There were no close
parking spaces for the bus so we had to go all the way to the back parking lot and walk up to the
entrance. Once I walked into the park it was so much bigger than any I expected. All the roller
coasters were huge. I didn t get to go on any because everyone would ask me to hold their stuff but a
couple things I did go on were the bumper cars, a water slide, a boat ride and I played some mini
games. Those were fun enough for me but if I ever go back again I am going to try the roller coasters.
The water slide was really fun. All you had to do was go up a ramp inside a tube and the ramp would
push you down the slide while water was being splashed at

martyred for his faith in Rome about A.D. 64 67. Therefore, establishing the date of Peter s second
letter within that time frame. Peter wrote out of love to defend and protect the immutable word of
God. The letters main purpose was to warn fellow devotees about false teachers that would try to enter
their churches and mislead them in their faith. Peter goes on to explain the false teachers can be
recognized by their prideful behavior, their love of money, and disrespect to God. (Life Application
Study Bible 1507,1918) Peter uses instances from the past, such as Sodom and Gomorrah and the
great flood to stress the judgment and punishment that will come to unbelievers who reject God. The
apostle also warns that there will be those that will mock God and dismiss the second coming of
Christ. He advises the believers to have confidence in the promises, prophecies, and principles given
through God s inspired word. (Hindson, Towns) Peter cautions God will return without warning and
find individuals unwary. However, Peter reasons that God is patient and delays His return for
unbelievers, not

  • 2. Networked Essay Networked (A Certain Scientific Railgun SI) #02.5 It had been quite some time since I d been anything but the driver, it was... nice, and it felt good to just put the seat back and be a passenger as the Sister drove through the city. It was relaxing, and quiet, with none of the rage inducing stupidity I d experienced whenever commuting. Although, it might have been more enjoyable were the Sister not insistent on making conversation. Unfortunately for her, the topics were ones that I d just rather not get involved with. Additionally, Misaka 10091 has been most insistent as she has come to the deluded conclusion that by receiving a piece of jewelry from the Boy she would have the right to lay claim on him over other Sisters, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... thing, you and the other Misaka s have going on with the boy. Another pregnant silence descended on the van as the Sister came to a stop at a busy intersection. I see and I apologize, she finally said, Misaka simply assumed that because she and several others went through a great deal of effort to acquire objects for your dormitory that you would be more conducive to assisting her in this relatively minor matter. It seems she was mistaken. I blinked and playing her words back a kernel of guilt seeded itself in my guts. She was doing it on purpose. I knew it she was doing it on purpose she d said so herself but... I sighed in resignation and sank back into the seat. More specifically, people are vividly debating whether or not children should receive the MMR vaccine. The injection itself was created in order to prevent infection of measles, mumps, and rubella all of which are viruses that cause serious illnesses, and even death. Several thousand people in the United States, commonly referred to as anti vaxxers, are choosing to defer the vaccination of their children because they believe it causes more harm than good. Two main speculations sparking the MMR debate are the accusation that it causes autism and has side effects that are far more negative than the benefit of immunity. Despite these accusations, the MMR vaccine is, without a doubt, providing resistance to illnesses that can lead to death. Therefore, Americans should continue to vaccinate their children with the MMR. In spite of the evidence that the MMR vaccine provides protection against these illnesses, scientists and parents alike argue that it causes autism. The UK has estimated through their schools National Child Measurement Program that one third of the children there are overweight, and by 2050 that number could rise to an alarming two thirds (Phillips 2). There are many uncontrollable factors in childhood obesity such as the environment, income and genetics. However, parents are the most overlooked factor. Our children s futures, with regard to their eating habits, are in the hands of their parents. Ultimately, children grow into adults who make their own choices, but parents can have a positive effect on the children s health in their childhood. By focusing on the parental factor, an immense decrease in childhood obesity is obtainable. Parents must consider how the environment they choose to raise their child in can affect their child s health. In rural environments, people can live off of healthy, home grown food. If a child lives in the city, parents may have a harder time finding healthy, affordable options for their family. For example, when comparing cities like Atlanta, Georgia to a rural farm town like Jesup, Georgia, it is apparent that bigger cities lack resources that would keep vegetables fresh and on hand at all times. • 24. Chem B Experiment Lab Report The purpose of this lab was to experimentally and scientifically ascertain the percentage of oxygen in Chem B at Woonsocket High School. It was hypothesized that if the percentage of oxygen is measured experimentally in Chem B at Woonsocket High School, then it would be higher than the percentage of oxygen in dry air, which is 20.95%, because the air is not dry due to moisture in the air from people breathing and the altitude of where the experiment takes place may affect it as well. To conduct this experiment, a candle was placed upright in a pan of water, was lit, and the flame was allowed to fully develop. Then a graduated cylinder was placed upside down to represent an airtight chamber, and the water rose. The point where it rose to was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The number of people in the room, contributing to the humidity, is one of the contributing factors to the change in percentages of oxygen. The condensation of a person s exhaled breath is a factor that also minimally contributes to the humidity in the atmosphere. Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air at any given moment. When a person exhales, it marginally impacts the relative humidity, and, due to common sense, if there is more people in the room, there is a greater level of humidity. The percentage of oxygen in dry air is 20.95%. However, the air is not always dry. Thus, the percentage of oxygen cannot always be the same if humidity is always changing. Furthermore, dew point temperature is the absolute measure of the amount of water vapor present in the air. So, if the temperature is higher, it can hold more water vapor, making warmer climates much more humid than cooler climates. So, the temperature in the room is also an indirect contributing factor to the percentage of oxygen in the air. The distance above sea level is thought to potentially affect the percentages of oxygen. Nonetheless, it has been established that the percentage of oxygen molecules is always the same when considering altitude. This is because air is compressible, so the weight of all the air above applies pressure to the air at that particular altitude, making that air at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Its basic objective is to oxygenate blood and remove carbon dioxide by way of four stages: ventilation, distribution, perfusion, and diffusion (Seikel, Drumright, King, 2016, p. 147). Respiration is also vital to the production of speech, but the way in which respiration occurs while producing speech is different than the process of respiration for life in a few ways. The reason why this is the way to go is that relational databases are limited in the number of relationships that can be dug down and analyzed. Using a dimensional model will allow the use of multi dimensional cubes to be able to pull 3 or more dimensions back into a pivot table. An example would be Sales by customer service rep by assigned sales territory. This provides a deeper detail of data than you would be able to get out of a relational database. For each department of the university, I propose a Data mart for each one. The reason why this is the case is so that every department can manipulate their own data as they see fit with their own resources because it is on a different server than another data mart typically. The look and feel of the Data Mart is up to that department and does not bother the other departments Data Marts. Individual data marts can also increase response time because there are not as many people hitting them all at one time. If a new department were to pop up, data mart creation is very easy to do. Each record will be unique based on the primary or composite keys of the table, and those keys could be surrogate keys such as using AutoNumber like in Microsoft Access. A stronger reaction or connection to a character, either positive or negative, allows the character to leave a lasting impression on the audience, even if the film s plot itself is not extraordinary or memorable. An unforgettable character can be the result of their persona, actions, relationships with others, or the actors or actress performances. Through the use of archetypal personality characteristics, non linear narratives, flashbacks, sweeping wide shots, intense dramatic scenes, somber or sinister music, and powerfully compelling relationships with other characters, the filmmakers create both strong positive and negative psychological and emotional connections with the audience to the characters. In addition, I will be dispelling several of the popular myths in regards to his life that many modern day Americans believe in. Some of these more modern day myths or false narratives are due to his story being adapted and changed in order to make a children s video by Disney, while others have been debated by historians ever since they were penned by Smith in one of his most famous works consisting of six volumes: The Generall Historie of Virginia, New England, and the Summer Isles. While many cannot picture Smith in any context other than with Pocahontas, he had a very active life before he even met her. As stated by Woolf, prior to even meeting Pocahontas Smith had been in an army fighting the Ottoman Turks in central Europe, during which he went through several escapes, was seriously wounded, taken into slavery, after which he murdered his slave master and escaped, along with being shipwrecked twice. 1 All of these exploits happened before Smith ended up in Virginia at the Jamestown colony, and met Pocahontas, the narrative of which most Americans are intimately familiar with or so they think. I have thought plenty of times in the past that I didn t want to go on the trip it was boring, but I was wrong and this is why. My first favorite school memory was in eighth grade. I was super nervous I didn t want to mess up since I had never done that before. When we were finally done the competition we got our award handed to us and our tickets to get into Six Flags. We left the school and head off on our journey to Agawam, Massachusetts where Six Flags was located. As we got closer and closer there were flags on the side of the road leading us there and my anticipation grew even stronger. I couldn t wait to get there. Once we finally arrived everyone couldn t wait to get off the bus and have some fun. I was really excited. We got off the bus and had a really long walk to get into the park. There were no close parking spaces for the bus so we had to go all the way to the back parking lot and walk up to the entrance. Once I walked into the park it was so much bigger than any I expected. The author is the Apostle Peter a dedicated servant and disciple of Jesus. The letters main purpose was to warn fellow devotees about false teachers that would try to enter their churches and mislead them in their faith. Peter goes on to explain the false teachers can be recognized by their prideful behavior, their love of money, and disrespect to God. (Life Application Study Bible 1507,1918) Peter uses instances from the past, such as Sodom and Gomorrah and the great flood to stress the judgment and punishment that will come to unbelievers who reject God. The apostle also warns that there will be those that will mock God and dismiss the second coming of Christ. He advises the believers to have confidence in the promises, prophecies, and principles given through God s inspired word.
