How To Write A Sample Of A Thesis
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS I would like to thank the members of my committee: Prof. Christian
Pongratz, Associate Dean Maria Perbellini and Prof. Dustin White for their support during the
development of this thesis. Without their collaboration and guidance this thesis would not have been
possible. I would also like to thank the Fabrication Shop team at the College of Architecture,
especially Mike West for sharing their knowledge in fabrication and always being willing to help. In
addition, I would like to thank the other departments within Texas Tech which provided me with
knowledge with topics specific to their field. From civil engineering department, Dr. Sang Wook Bae
whose help was extremely important for this thesis. From the electrical engineering department,
special thanks to those students who volunteered their time for this project to come to a full circle:
Nicholas Wilson, Kirwa Boit, and principally Kenyan Burnham who was actively collaborating since
the conception of this thesis. Also, I would like to give thanks to all of those who have supported and
challenged me throughout my academic career. Finally, I will always be thankful to my family and

Morgan Spurlock s Film, Super Size Me Essay
As Steven Spielberg once said, documentaries are the greatest way to educate an entire generation
(Azevedo, 2013). In Morgan Spurlock s documentary Super Size Me, audiences are informed and
shown the dangers of consuming fast food everyday. Spurlock has a camera follow him for one month
as he consumes McDonalds for each meal thus exposing one to the unhealthy affects of the lifestyle.
Relying on images, interviews, and statistics the viewers are informed of how processed fast foods
begin to affect people starting from a young age. This documentary style film shapes the perception of
the spectator through the use of visual and narrative techniques. Morgan Spurlock s film Super Size
Me is representative of the idealized version of film ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One can see that Spurlock believes that fast food industry is responsible for the rise in obesity hence
the reason for his experiment. Through narrative and editing Spurlock removes any biases that may
alter the results of his experiment (Cornell, Lecture #12). He films himself as well as others in
uncontrolled situations, the audience is put into his shoes as they watch these situations unfold just as
he once did (Cornell, Lecture #12). Spurlock sets rules to control the experiment for more accurate
results. These rules include eating three meals at McDonalds each day, only eating or drinking items
that are sold by McDonalds, super sizing meals only when asked, and trying everything on the menu
at least once. Rather than visiting the same McDonalds and dealing with the same employees, he
travels around to different cities and states. In the beginning of his experiment, Spurlock travels to
Houston, Texas which is known for being the most obese city in the United States. On his first trip to a
McDonalds in Houston he is automatically asked if he would prefer to super size his meal.
Throughout his entire 30 day experiment he is asked to super size his meal nine times, five of those
times are from employees in Texas. Questioning a vast array of people in schools and on the street,
Spurlock attempts to provoke responses in subjects being interviewed as well as the audience (Cornell,
Lecture #12). Due to the lack of direction and script the questions, answers, and

Heat Movie Analysis
Don t let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you
feel the heat around the corner. Robert De Niro s famous line playing the criminal Niel McCauley sets
the tone for Michel Mann s Heat. Mann is able to have high octane action one would expect from a
crime movie while displaying intimacy in the main characters. The combination of the two is what
makes the film a crime drama (even though Michael Mann argues that it doesn t belong to a genre).
That intimacy is what makes Heat memorable. Mann creates the intimacy in a number of ways:
through types of shots such as close ups and zoom ins, the score and the soundtrack, his use of
lighting, camera angles, filming locations and use of shadows among others. The utilization of close
ups and zoom ins allows the audience to get to know the characters. It shows the wear and tear on the
characters faces. We can see the pain, the hurt; we re able to feel how tired the characters are from
their deep sighs and the dark circles under their eyes. Michael Mann wants the audience to become as
close to the characters as possible. We are introduced to Al Pacino during a sex scene, that s about as
intimate as the character to audience relationship can get. The intimacy is at an all time high during
the coffee shop scene in which the previously mentioned quote is taken from. Roger Ebert (1995)
stated, The scene concentrates on the truth of Heat , which is that these cops and robbers need

Essay about LITERATIVE REVIEW
LITERATIVE REVIEW
The purpose of my literature review is to examine the various
therapeutic intervention strategies being administered to adult and
children who have perceptual, spacial, gross and fine motor proficient
disabilities. Furthermore what approaches appear to be working in their
rehabilitation process. adults with perceptual dysfunction secondary to
brain injury often includes Occupational therapy has been one of the
main therapeutic strategies used for perceptual retraining according to

1983; Prigitano, 1986; Siev Freishtat, amp; Zoltan, 1986; Trombly, 1983, Van

Neurodevelopmental treatment deals with proprioceptive and Kinesthetic
perceptious as they relate to functional movement patterns. These
approaches provide training in the perceptual processing components of
functional behavior with perceptual drills or specific sequences of
sensorimotor exercises.
These are the common assumptions underlying the adaptive and
remedial treatments used currently. Occupational therapy s perceptual
retraining literature includes description of both adaptive and remedial
approaches. (Siev et al. 1986), for
example four perceptual treatment Approaches for adults:
A) Sensory integration
B) Transfer of training
C) Functional training and
D) Neurodevelopmental.
Three of these approaches sensory integration, transfer of training,
and neurodevelopmental can be classified as remedial because their
underlying assumptions match the remedial assumption outlined
previously such as the retraining sequences.
In the sensory integration and neurodevelopmental approaches,
the therapist provides controlled vestibular, tactile, proprioceptive, and
kenesthetic stimulation to promote normal central nervous system
processing of sensory information. Theoretically, because perceptual
motor behaviors are performed in response to the nervous systems
interpretation of sensory inputs, normal sensory processing should help

Analysis Of The Book Revelation Of The Bible
Since the beginning of time there has been a concept as old as thought itself: how will it all end? Not
just how will life end but how will the world end. Some cultures are molded by the way that specific
groups believe the end times will come to fruition. Eschatological concepts are those that concern
themselves with the end of the world, as we know it and how it will come about. One thing that is for
certain is across the ages there is a consensus that this will occur, though there may not be a consensus
on how. This concept has infiltrated almost all aspects of life from entertainment to daily practices.
There are numerous pieces of literature that addresses how the world will end and of them one of the
most well know is the Book of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jesus later goes on to explain that the seven stars that were in his hand represent the angels of seven
churches and the seven gold lamp stands represent the seven churches. Once he states this he begins to
address each church individually. The letters poses similarities while at the same time also possessing
differences. The overall structures of the letters are the same and follow these guidelines: address,
commendation/complaint, advice, appeal for others to listen, and then a promised reward for heading
the words of the Lord. The differences arise in the content of the addresses, how the problems should
be corrected and the reward that will come.
The seven letters serve as a connection between the Old Testament and the Book of Revelation.
Though the Book of Revelation lacks any direct Old Testament connection, the views and connection
between the two are seen throughout the Book of Revelation. The authorship by John took place
during the Greco Roman era but the structure of writing that the letters poses is more appropriate for
the prophetic lawsuit of the Old Testament. The difference between the styles lies in the fact that the
letters contain commendations and accusations along with the customary features judgment and
salvation, which makes them in concordance with prophetic lawsuit speech (Bandy 186). Bandy
stated, specifically, it resembles the covenant lawsuit whereby Christ scrutinizes the new

The Negative Impacts Of Collective Bargaining
Collective bargaining refers to a procedure through which employers negotiate with employee s
unions to a joint agreement or renew an expired deal. A collective bargaining process begins with a
written notification to bargain. Employers and unions must ensure good faith in the process. CBAs are
mutually beneficial and are advantageous to the society as a whole, only when conducted
transparently and collaboratively by guaranteeing an active participation of all stakeholders.
Collective bargaining agreements (CBA) provide state professionals with the right to team up with
their colleagues and conduct negotiations with their bosses regarding workplace concerns that
emotionally or physically impact them, providing the best environment for quality service delivery to
taxpayers. Similarly to contracts, chief executive officers have guaranteed employment conditions,
benefits, and payment, which are agreed upon in a collective bargaining agreement. Union
representations provide the legal, most common, and an easiest secured way to collectively bargain
(Aidt Tzannatos, 2002). This article outlines the importance of collective bargaining agreements to
public servants, and the taxpayers. The report seeks to analyze the hidden cost savings that collective
bargaining agreements come with, and the overall improvements they introduce to the quality of
livelihood for taxpayers. Moreover, this paper examined the negative impacts that collective
bargaining agreements have on taxpayers and

Essay about Little Miss Sunshine
Colorblind?
Little Miss Sunshine is a movie about a dysfunctional (yet oddly supportive) family s road trip from
hell. This extended family consists of a mother, father, her son from a previous relationship, daughter,
uncle and grandfather. This film was released August 18, 2006 and won two Oscars for Best
Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Alan Arkin) and Best Writing, Original Screenplay.
Abigail Breslin was nominated for her portrayal of Olive. Little Miss Sunshine was also nominated for
Best Motion Picture of the Year. The film was nominated and awarded over 40 various awards. The

The relationship between her and Richard is strained by financial issues, as well as Sheryl s need to

Frank is the brother of Sheryl, and he has just been released from a hospital after attempting suicide.
He was jilted by a lover, lost his job and was passed over for an award that was awarded to his ex
lover s current boyfriend. He repeatedly reminds everyone is the foremost scholar of Proust .
Dwayne is the teenage son of Sheryl and he has taken a vow of silence until he is accepted into the Air
Force Academy to fulfill his dream of being a pilot. He communicates with a pen and pad including
telling Uncle Frank Welcome to Hell. He reads Nietzsche and hates everybody .
Olive is the glue that holds everyone together. She was the runner up in a beauty contest while visiting
her aunt and they get a call that the winner is unable to compete in the finals, and Olive and family are
off to California for her to compete. Olive and Grandpa have been working on her totally
inappropriate but hilarious dancing routine that she performs at the pageant. Olive loves and accepts
everyone as they are her family adores her.
The still that I am analyzing is of Dwayne realizing and processing the fact that he is colorblind and
will not be able to be a pilot. He has just broken his vow of silence by repeatedly screaming an
obscenity while running away from the VW bus. Richard had pulled over to the side and the bus was

Myths And The Reason Behind Mythology
WHAT ARE MYTHS AND THE REASON BEHIND MYTHOLOGY? Mythos, the Greek word for
myth means story, appertain to colorful tales that enlightens about the origins of humans and the
universe. Myths, as amazing as it sounds, is also a cause for birth of new religions, where and how
they originated. Many cultures have myths about how the gods and goddesses came to be, even
elucidating the origin of humanity and its traditions. Even ideas about how this world of ours came to
existence have many myths, creation myths behind it, disparate in every culture and society, which
demonstrates a view on its role in the world. Mythology is simply the study of the myth. There are
many psychological theories and meanings that explicate mythology. The most recurrent belief about
the psychological value of myth is that myths emblematize contrasting elements of our own psyches
or souls. The psychoanalytical frames of reference on myths have indisputably been ineluctable.
Myths were and still are progressively seen as expressions of desideratum in the human psyche. But
the big question is, what is the beneficence of mythology towards the amelioration of society? If there
are myths to decipher or exhibit certain things, character or situations, there also are science and
technology, which accommodate every explanation needed to understand each of those things. Many
go to science for such interpretation, which conveys the impression of taking care of the signification
behind all those natural phenomena,

Usually, just right after the New Year s celebration, many of us start looking at the resolutions we
made and, if you re like many people, yours probably resemble more of a grocery list: You want to
exercise more, make more money, have a savings, learn a skill (let s say playing the guitar), get a
better job (so you can make more money) and find a lover (if you haven t found one yet, or the one
you have isn t as loving ).
A typical scenario might be like this: You ll look at this laundry list of New Year s resolutions and you
would pick a goal, let s say one of your goals is to be proficient at the guitar. Then, what you may do
is you would buy a book on how to play a guitar, maybe buy a how to DVD and start practicing at
home. If you re slightly more diligent, you would even start taking some classes. But what about your
other goals, such as making more money? I mean, that minimum wage job really isn t going to help,
unless your definition of making more money is that fifty cent raise coming your way... in about six

Relationship Between Darcy And Elizabeth Bennet
The Evolution of the Relationship of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet Whether a relationship between
two characters remains strictly platonic or will eventually become bound by romance, many factors go
into how that relationship evolves. Where the evolution of a relationship is concerned, one must
recognize the importance of how not only the characters themselves affect the progression of the
relationship, but also how outside factors make an impact. Many components of Jane Austen s novel,
Pride and Prejudice, affect and lead to the evolution of the relationship of Fitzwilliam Darcy and
Elizabeth Bennet, including both internal and external influences. Throughout Pride and Prejudice, the

Gender Equality In Iron Jawed Angels
Tuesday, November 8 2016 was the first time I was old enough to vote for the presidential election.
After watching Iron Jawed Angels, I realized how much I have taken for granted in my life and how
incredibly grateful I am for all of the women that have fought for women equality including; Alice
Paul and Lucy Burns. There are still on going debates in todays society about gender equality, but it s
crazy to see how 100 plus years ago some of the rights women have now, going to school and voting,
didn t exist. In 1912, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns fought together among other women for the right to
vote. They fought for not only white women, but women of all races. Throughout Iron Jawed Angels
the women fought hard, even during the time of war and while they were in jail, for their rights and
equality. It wasn t until August 26, 1920 that women could vote. Before that women could not attend
college or pursue training for most professions (Woods, 57). During the movie, Alice Paul was
creating a friendship with a male who taught her how to drive which is interesting because in todays
society almost every women knows how to drive or has the privilege to drive but back then only men
drove or could even afford a car because they had the right to work. In the movie Iron Jawed Angels,
Senetor Leighton and his family are described as a stereotypical family during their time period. He
provides for his wife and two kids while, his wife stays at home and doesn t work.

Social Role And Social Roles
Everybody in the world belongs to a subcultural group (people that come together that seek out others
sharing similar ideas or views) or plays a social role in it. Playing in a social role, as individuals, we
act in certain situations differently, such as in a work place, home, or around your peer groups. I
believe it s a real occurrence that a lot of people deal with daily. The ideology of a subculture group or
the social roles you play forms by separating or belonging in it and forming personal norms, sanctions,
material objects, symbols, language patterns, and social institutions. Such as me being an employee
(sales associate) at Payless and being a younger sister to an older brother which have similar ways but
they also have a few differences.
To begin with, when it comes to working for an economic institution I play a certain social role when
being a sales associate. I wouldn t act the same way at my job like I do with my family members or
my friends such as clowning around, teasing, cursing, or pulling pranks on each other. In my job
description there are norms and sanctions that I need to follow, breathe, and live by them. I m
responsible for following the Company s safety and environmental laws, regulations, and procedures
at work. For instance, always come in on time (unless you call in), follow the safety policies for
ourselves and customers such as prevention of accidents removing things that can cause a fall or slip
such as a 3 or 8 step ladder s or carts (children might mistake it as a toy), making sure boxes on top of
the rack shelves are less than 8 inches high (not in the way for sprinkles or falling over), making sure
each aisle is clean (nobody s going to come into a dirty store), putting shoes in their right particular
areas and sizes from kids on the left hand side, women s in the middle, and the men s on the right hand
side and straight across the back of the store. In addition, to safety reasons in work wear we can wear
almost about anything but must be comfortable like business wear or casual (no jeans, open back
sandals/heels, and must be knee length) and have a Payless store tag always, also when it comes to
lifting boxes we must always wear a black back support belt while lifting.

Modern Day Knowledge Of Scurvy And Treatment
European sailing ships first penetrated deep into the Indian and Pacific oceans in the 15th century with
the intent of exploration, wealth, and war. The casualties were appalling. Historical records document
that the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama lost two thirds of his crew to scurvy symptoms while
traveling to India in 1499. Circumnavigator Ferdinand Magellan suffered 80% casualties to Scurvy.
Among Magellan s fleet of five galleons, only one ship survived the globe trotting excursion. During
the glorious age of sail, scurvy had claimed more sailors lives than all the others diseases and war
combined. A stunning record of 2 million sailors perished between the 16th and 19th century among
the combined European seafaring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the course of up to three months, a sailor s health degrades ominously. Shortness of
breath, bone, and muscle pain (myalgia) intensify. Finally obvious objective symptoms manifest.
Petechiae and jaundice appear on the sailor s skin. Teeth dislodge, and injuries incurred from day to
day ship maintenance no longer heal. As crippling symptoms of edema, oliguria, and neuropathy
worsen, fever and convulsions finally seal the sailor s demise. When the British navy s Commodore
Anson attempted to raid Spanish shipping lanes in 1740 (during the epic Seven Years War), scurvy
proved to be more vicious than Spanish gunpowder. Tragically yet predictably, only one ship out of
the squadron of six returned from its mission. The Chaplain of commodore s flagship described
stricken sailors symptoms as: skin black as ink, ulcers, difficult respiration, rictus of the limbs, teeth
falling out and, perhaps the most revolting of all, a strange plethora of gum tissue sprouting out of the
mouth, which immediately rotted and lent the victim s breath an abominable odor.
Modern day scurvy treatment and prevention is remarkably simple. Unlike most of the animal
kingdom, the human body cannot synthesize Ascorbic Acid, so this vital coenzyme must be ingested.
Schoolchildren are taught at an early age that oranges provide ample amounts of Vitamin C. Lesser

Character Analysis Of Garnie In Fair And Tender Ladies
In the novel Fair and Tender Ladies, the character Garnie is one of interest. As a child, he is full of
wonder and easily excitable. Garnie is the younger brother of Ivy Rowe, the main protagonist. Garnie
is a major character because of how frequently he and Ivy interact and with how she reveals more
about her character from talking about him in her letters. When they were little, Garnie refused to play
with his sisters Ivy and Silvaney unless he could preach. They would often play funeral and Garnie
would deliver a sermon about God. After the family moves to the town of Majestic, Garnie
immediately takes a liking to the preacher Sam Russell, as shown by how he goes to get saved on a

When Garnie leaves his family to join Sam Russell s travelling revival and returns to Sugar Fork, he is
a completely different character. He starts spewing words of hatred and condemnation. Ivy s child
Lulda dies as an infant, and Garnie tells Ivy that it was her fault and calls her a whore. Garnie gives a
speech about Lulda at her funeral until he is interrupted when Oakley returns. He then condemns his
sister, Oakley, to Hell for having an affair with Honey Breedwell. This demonstrates that Garnie is a
dynamic character because he has changed from the sweet little boy he was when he and Ivy were
children and is now a hellfire and brimstone preacher. He calls both of his sisters whores because Ivy
had a child as an unwed mother and Oakley for having an affair. Any connection Ivy had with him
beforehand is now meaningless because he now despises her. Ivy detests religion because of how
people use religion to justify condemning people and making people feel guilty about themselves.
However, on her death bed, Ivy begins to read the Bible and finds comfort in certain verses that
introduce her to a religion that allows people to enjoy their lives the way they see fit and does not
serve the purposes of the people who preach the religion. Through Garnie s usage of religion to shame
his sisters and threatening them with damnation, she recognizes religion as a sincere confession of the
flaws of man. However, this is a tragic revelation as she has this epiphany at the end of her life and
learned this from her brother, who she had cherished beforehand, telling her that she is damned to Hell

Plato Essay
Plato
Biography
Plato was born in Athens of an aristocratic family. He recounts in the Seventh Letter, which, if
genuine, is part of his autobiography, that the spectacle of the politics of his day brought him to the
conclusion that only philosophers could be fit to rule. After the death of Socrates in 399, he travelled
extensively. During this period he made his first trip to Sicily, with whose internal politics he became
much entangled. He visited Sicily at least three times in all and may have been richly subsidised by
Dionysius. On return from Sicily he began formal teaching at what became the Academy.
Plato is generally regarded as the inventor of the philosphical argument as we know it, and many

Residential School Apology Analysis
On behalf of the Government of Canada this apology is in the hopes of reconciling the broken
relationship between the government and our First Nations People. The treatment that children faced
in residential schools is the darkest part of our country s history. Throughout the century that
residential schools existed, over 150,000 Aboriginal families were separated. These children were
being removed and isolated from their homes, families, culture, and traditions in the purpose of them
adopting the dominant culture. Tragically, while attending these residential schools, some of these
children died and others never returned home. The few stories of positive experiences from residential
schools is out shined by the numerous horrid accounts of the physical, sexual and emotional abuse
causing lasting suffering passed down from generations.. We apologize for neglecting these helpless
children. For this we are very sorry. We are sorry for not only the terrible, abusive experiences you had
to go through but also the burden it put on you to have no power from stopping your children from

Congress Passed The Budget Control Act
On August 2, 2011, Congress passed the Budget Control Act (BCA) of 2011 which cut $487 billion
from projected defense spending over the next 10 years.1 The act also established a system of
sequestration, which would cut an additional $495 billion from the defense budget.2 Altogether, the
BCA would cut almost $1 trillion dollars from the Department of Defense (DoD). The passing of the
BCA and the subsequent loss of funding mark an end to a 13 year period of robust budget allocations
to support the global war on terrorism. From 2001 to 2013 over $1.6 trillion has been allocated to the
DoD to support preparations for and execution of operations in various overseas areas.3 Within this
$1.6 trillion, 94% of the funding was allocated to support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.4 This
robust amount of funding cultivated a culture within the DoD that there would always be funding
available to cover costs at home and abroad. This culture is deeply entrenched within the United States
Army due to large budgets provided to the Army over the past 13 years. In today s environment of
shrinking budgets, this culture can no longer stand true and must be changed. Establishing a cost
conscious culture (CCC) within the Army is critical to our ability to sustain the current Army force
structure and make the needed modernization investments to ensure our capability to fight and win our
nations wars.
Our world continues to remain a violent, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment.

Makeup Of Makeup
Samuel Pepys did make note of the heavy makeup used by Nell Gwynne and her co worker Mrs.
Knepp on stage, and how frightful he found it, so it is likely that even if makeup, in general, had an
artificial look, stage makeup went a few steps further. Red cheeks connoted youthfulness and health,
yellow cheeks age and illness. The eyes were outlined with black and shaded with colored pigment,
blue being quite popular. Hair powder was used on the stage as well, and the color of it could be used
either to compliment the actor or actress s look, or be chosen to suit the character they played. False
facial hair was another means to change an actor s look. Makeup in the 17th and 18th century was
quite simple, but with a very artificial look. The ideal, for both men and women, was a pale face,
enhanced with cosmetics aimed to lighten the complexion or with white makeup. As with the lips,
there is no real evidence that brows were blotted out and repainted higher up on the brow, though that
may have happened in the theatre for effect. Patches were very popular throughout both the 17th and
18th century, most commonly round and black made out of taffeta, velvet or paper, but larger and
more elaborate shapes were also in use (Samuel Pepys diary).
Theatre goers also enjoyed seeing women in breeches roles in which a female character disguised
herself as a man by wearing tight pants that exposed their legs. Breeches roles are found in plays from
the 1660s, such as Nell Gwyn as Florimel

Second Wave Of Feminism Analysis
The Second Wave of Feminism took place in the 1960s and 70s, a time of political and social activism
in the United States. Up until the late 1950s and early 1960s, the quintessential American woman was
a homemaker, a wife, and a mother (Gorman 6). For her, success was seen as having a husband with a
good job who could provide for his wife and family (6). As stated by Jacqueline Laks Gorman, the
frustration of the societal limits faced by American women of the mid twentieth century caused
women to unite to fight for equality and women s rights (5).
Many believe that the spark for the Second Wave of feminism and the modern feminist movement was
the release of Betty Friedan s book, The Feminine Mystique in 1963 (13). In her book, Friedan

Socrates The Apology
The Apology is a piece of writing, where Socrates is addressing all of his accusers about the all of the
wrongdoings that he has been accused of having a part in. The story starts off in a courtroom, where
Socrates is addressing the men of Athens about the persuasive words of his accusers (Plato 1).
Socrates states that he is a man of old age, being over seventy years old (1). He states that this trial is
the first time he has ever been in a court of law, and he asks them to excuse any language that he may
repeat (1). The Apology is a great piece of literature that gives the arguments of Socrates, in his
defense, to the two accusation brought on him by his accusers. The first of the two charges brought

Examples Of Archetypes In Carl Jung
The book starts with the world that is full of wizard and magic. The first impression that the main
character gave me is that the character is wild but naive. For example, Ged s first action where he tries
to mimic his aunt s magic which caused him to stand out. His innocent and not knowing mind cause
many to be fearful of him since he is powerful although he is just as ordinary as the others. In addition
to this, Ged is also somewhat lonely in which his mom died when he is young and that his older
siblings are all gone far away. He didn t really find much find when he entered the School for Wizard.
However, I think that these example for lonesome cause the character to be not caring and more wild
compared to others. Moreover, one action that the main character did that stands out the most to me
was when he tries to save the whole land of Gout using his little trick. One thing that he said is that I ll

Although is far beyond being a hero at the beginning of the book, his lesson caused him to have a
heroic heart. The archetypal hero that is theorized by Carl Jung means typical character, an action or a
situation that seems to represent such universal patterns of human nature. In this case, Ged shows is
the emphasis of caring through helping other but risking himself. In addition to this, Ged shows the
heroic archetype in the beginning of the book when he uses his trick to forecasting a fog/shadow over
the mountain in order to save his people in the town. This is at a very young age. Moreover, when Ged
tries to save Pachvarry s son, he has this giving heart. Another example is that he defeated the dragon
that was bothering the villagers in the town where he asks for no return. The mini examples shape the
characters into who they are though the way that they act or speaks. He shows that he has the power to

The Four Concepts Of Symbolic Interactionism
Symbolic interactions are a major part of how we socialize with others. It happens every day without
us even realizing it. There are many concepts that assist in the formation of symbolic interactions, but
to better understand them, we need to apply them to social settings. The four concepts of social
interactionism theory I chose to observe at the social settings of my choosing were; definition of
situation, symbols, front regions, and role playing. These concepts often interrelate as they all are a
part of each other. To better understand these concepts, they were applied to two different social
settings which were the bar and mass at the Catholic church. The concepts will be defined and
reviewed in the order above.
When we refer to definition of situation, we are referring to what the entrance of the social setting
encompasses. We look at what are the norms, the rules, and what is acceptable in that setting. For
example, when I was entering the bar, there were people outside smoking. To be able to walk through
the front doors, there was a man who one had to give an ID to so he could check the age to allow the
person to get in. When I walked through the doors, there were people sitting at tables in groups of
three to five people on the left who would look to see who was entering the bar. On the right side of
the bar, there were four people playing foosball and two people at each pool table. As I continued to
the back, there were people sitting at the bar visiting.

Different Times, Different Ideals
Different Times, Different Ideals The world is a very different place than it was 1,000 years ago. There
was a time in our history that women were not valued for anything other than their sexual function,
and they were expected to quietly tumble into the social image men created for them. Racism also was
commonplace and widely accepted, and violence was a casual occurrence of life then. This time
period is known as the Victorian Era. A very widely known children s book today was actually written
during this time period by J.M. Barrie Peter Pan. This novel created for children contains the Victorian
Era s socially accepted ideals relating to sexism, racism, and violence and the physical acts resulting
from the prevalence of these ideas at that time, which are most certainly outdated and considered
inappropriate for children in today s society despite the obviously uninformed popularity that remains
with this tale.
This book displays its sexism quite openly. There is an ongoing battle of two exceedingly different
sides of womanhood throughout the story. It encourages the engagement between a mother like figure
and a harlot. Throughout the novel, all the female characters must either be parental or crave the
companionship of a male character, which often results in jealousy. Wendy and Tinker, being the two
main female characters of the story, represent these two different types of women acceptable in the
Victorian Era.

Censorship And Its Effect On Society
nformation is one of the most fundamental means by which people can acquire power and influence in
Western society. It is also said that information is practically the most powerful and important weapon
against corruption in the world. Those who have access to sensitive information, by whatever means
either through corruption or unrestricted access, can use this information to demand bribes and even
obtain more information by corruption or hide it from others. Owning that access and practicing the
act of corruption and maladministration will increase transparency and will also enable society and
even media to know and use the right information as the truth will be covered. The right to know the
information and to fully understand society s rights is a great value that is not always realised by
society, but given the example of the government, the ones who own more information have the power
to hide their own actions and to control the information censoring media. As far as the government is
concerned privacy, political and economic information is not to be shared, therefore they can deny
access to it. This type of information is controlled making society unaware of what is happening.
Fortunately, it is a two way role. There are laws to prevent this from happening and also to give access
to the right and non sensitive information. Information free from corruption is vital for society to
know what is happening.

Pressure At A Young Age
Since I was in the seventh grade, pressure has always been a part of everything I have done. This has
stemmed from a variety of different sources, mostly standards that I set for myself. Without these
standards, I would never have become the person I am today. The lifestyle I live brings pressure along
with it. But, I enjoy everything that comes with the way I live my life. Unlike others, I was put under a
tremendous amount of pressure at a young age in the classroom, and on the court. Pressure may be in
many ways, depending on the person going through a situation where it is present. For me, pressure is
when someone is asking me to do something that I cannot do. Unfortunately, many times, the issue
was internal. Most of the time, I felt like I could not do something, rather than letting someone else do
it for me. This feeling was often a major factor in determining whether or not I wanted to do anything
outside of my comfort zone. Once I entered middle school, pressure began to set in. When I was in the
seventh grade, academics became more difficult, and the work load increased. However, as all of my
friends did, I signed up to play middle school basketball. I was very excited to play for a new coach,
who happened to be at the time Chris Wheelock. After the first week of practice, I was feeling very
good about my chances to be a key contributor to a good team, as well as feeling comfortable with my
coaches and teammates. Then, after one hard practice, I

Hamlet, why did he delay Essay
William Shakespeare, perhaps the greatest playwright of all time, authored a number of works
consisting of sonnets, comedies, and tragedies. In his brilliant career, Shakespeare created literary
works of art.
What makes Shakespeare unlike any other writer of his time, is his ability to organize a realistic plot,
manage themes, and develop characters within his works (Nordling). As well, Shakespeare s ability to
provoke feeling and reaction to his writing is also what sets him apart from other common writers. Of
his works, Hamlet is perhaps the most studied and most interesting of the collected tragedies. In this
play, many question the actions of the characters and particularly the actions of Hamlet. The answer
to: Why does Hamlet delay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Undoubtedly, Hamlet is a man of action. (Eliot)
Why then, does Hamlet require five Acts to finally prove this concept? A number of different
possibilities exist. The single, most important of these possibilities are Hamlet s internal conflicts
within his own mind, body, and soul. From the first Act,
Hamlet displays a substantial amount of concern for his mother. quot;...Why, she would hang on him /
As if increase of appetite had grown / By what it fed on; and yet, within a month / Let me not think;
Frailty, thy name is woman! quot; Clearly, Hamlet s concern for the Queen, his mother, is genuine.
Within this thought, Hamlet realized the severity of his mother s actions while also attempting to
rationalize her mentality so that he may understand, and perhaps, cope with the untimely nature of the
Queen s marriage to Claudius. Understandably, Hamlet is disturbed. (Nighan)
Gertrude causes such confusion in Hamlet that throughout the play, he constantly wondered how it
could be possible that events would turn out the way that they had. This unfortunate turn of events is
often questioned since Gertrude, the same woman who had instilled a great sense of religion in
Hamlet, contradicts such a value that proves quot;Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. quot;
(Nordling) While regarding this as the principal means for Hamlet s frustration, it is not until seeing a
spirit form that Hamlet decided to seek the truth, and ultimately, exact revenge. After envisioning the

When looking at women over the past two centuries, and comparing them to the modern women of

The Consequences Of Technology In The Veldt By Ray Bradbury
Some People absolutely adore technology and can only see the good that technology brings. Ray
Bradbury helps his readers to see the consequences that technology can bring in his story, The Veldt.
The children in this story are very spoiled and rely on technology for everything, even getting
attention. Through the use of conflict, imagery, and inverse consequence Ray Bradbury shows that
excessive indulgence in technology can have grave consequences. Ray Bradbury has a constant
ongoing conflict between the Hadleys and technology. The Hadleys live in a home that is full of
technology that does everything for them like brushing my own teeth and tying my own shoes
(Bradbury 10). Since the Hadleys have so much technology, the children receive very minimal to no
attention from their parents leading to separation, anger and resentment. George and Lydia allowed for
the house to take over though, The house is wife and mother now, and nursemaid (Bradbury 4). The
children get all of their attention and affection from their home and the nursery You ve let this room
and this house replace you and your wife in your children s affections. This room is their mother and
father, for more important in their lives than their real parents (Bradbury 12). When Dave Mclean
found George Hadley s wallet in the nursery with drops of saliva on it and Lydia s bloody scarf , the
destroyed wallet and scarf symbolize how Wendy and Peter feel about their parents, very hostile and
estranged.

In the interviewing process the data obtained showed that cost effectiveness and convenience were the
primary reasons why they began to use the new concepts in video rental instead of continuing to use
the rental store. In those who continue to show patronage to the rental store, the primary reason is
based in their own lack of technological advancement or desire for change. Individuals may be
satisfied with the status quo because their needs are being met, they may view any potential change as
negative (Spector, 2010, pg. 9).
Within the organization itself resistance to change by employees is primarily based in fear. Individuals
may view change as a threat, fearing it will adversely affect them in some significant way (Spector,

The Power Of The Familial Bond In Cormac Mccarthy s The Road
Cormac McCarthy s The Road is, essentially, a love story between father and son, in which the

his father and relies on him to provide food, safety, and comfort, even in th form of lies. This theme of
the strength and power of the familial bond layered heavily into the story line. In the first pages, the

their families. Between August and November of 1888, a notorious murderer rose to the surface,
slaughtering at least five women escorts. The legend of Jack the Ripper is one of the most famous, yet
unsolved mysteries of English crime.
I. Suspected Murder Victims August 31, 1888, was the first killing, Mary Ann Nichols was found dead
on the side of a street at four o clock in the morning. She had been dead for approximately 20 minutes,
her throat had been slit, her abdomen mutilated with one deep jagged wound, several incisions across
the abdomen, and three or four similar cuts on the right side caused by the same knife at least 6 8
inches long used violently and downwards. There seemed to be surprise at the small amount of blood
at the crime scene, about enough to fill two large wine glasses, or half a pint at the most (Llewellyn).
This comment led to the suspicion that Nichols was not killed where her body was found, but the
blood from her wounds had soaked into her clothes and hair, and there was little doubt that she had
been killed at the crime scene by a swift slash to the throat. Death would have been instantaneous, and
the abdominal injuries, which would have

Simone De Beauvoir And Frantz Fanon And The Oppression Of...
The majority dictates history, policy, science and general education. With the view of the minority so
firmly permeating society s mind, the voice of the minority falls to the wayside. Simone de Beauvoir,
Frantz Fanon, and Michel Foucault all seek to establish a voice for the minority, and a path to freedom
and liberation from the dominance of the normalized majority. In her work The Second Sex. De
Beauvoir tackles the oppression of women. While not a minority, women are written out of society by
a more dominant male society, and experience oppression like that felt by the minority. Like minority
groups, women are relegated to a status of otherness in society, which defines them as outside the
bounds of the accepted and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simone de Beauvoir defines the lived experience of women as one of otherness, and from this stems
the oppression of women. De Beauvoir explains the lived experiences of women when she states that
he is the Subject; he is the Absolute. She is the other. The man constitutes himself at the subject and
the absolute, both descriptors place complete emphasis and importance on the man, the women are
only relevant in their existence as the other. Since women are presently regulated to the category of
the other, humanity is male, and man defines women, not in herself, but in relation to himself; she is
not considered an autonomous being. Without a form of autonomy women have no basis for
understanding themselves as women. If women must identify themselves through men, there is no
way to escape a society in which men are the center of society and women are merely peripheral
beings that conflate themselves to the wills and wishes of the more relevant man. De Beauvoir s
notion of liberation and freedom called on women to reclaim the category of womanhood to create an
autonomous and working woman who can break out of the master slave dynamic created by the

An Intimate Experience With An Audience Through A Film
I wanted to create an intimate experience with an audience through a film. I needed to get started. I
had researched on forums, websites even Youtube on advice on how where I could start. Most places
said, to begin with, something you already owned. In my case, It was the iPhone 5s. I had used my
phone for a year to take photos and videos when I had recently decided to upgrade to the Canon T6i.
After using the camera for a couple of months now, I wanted to see the similarities and differences in
functionality that the iPhone 5s had compared to the Canon T6i.
A similarity that is consistent with the iPhone 5s and the Canon T6i is the user interface. The user will
interact with the devices by using its buttons and touch screens. The iPhone 5s and Canon T6i have
many similar buttons such as the on/off, home screen and volume buttons. The on/off button allows
the user to get their device started to take pictures. The home screen button redirects the user of an
iPhone to a screen with apps, while a user of the Canon T6i to a screen with many camera settings.
The iPhone 5s and the Canon T6i have touch screens. The touch screen adds comfort to the user. It is
also a familiar feeling to most technology users since the touch screen is very common in 2016.
A second similarity between the two devices is their camera functions. The basic camera functions that
are available to the Canon T6i and iPhone 5s includes the zoom in/out, flash, single/continuous shots
and self timer. This

Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Distributed Generations
This chapter defines distributed generation (DG), briefly describes why it is useful and in the end
mentions the problems associated with its connection to the grid.
1.1 What is distributed generation (DG)?
Contrary to the traditional philosophy of power system design, which comprises of a large utility
generator situated far away from the loads, the concept of DG requires the installation of smaller
capacity generators close to the load.
IEEE defines the generation of electricity as facilities sufficiently smaller than central plants, usually
10 MW or less, so as to allow interconnection at nearly any point in the power system, as Distributed
Resources.
Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) defines DG as generation from a few kilowatts up to 50
MW.
International Energy Agency (IEA) defines DG as Power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The introduction of DG in distribution network changes the traditional radial structure into multi
power structure and demands a huge shift on size and orientation of power flow thus influencing
voltage distribution of the network [15]. The control of the DG requires large numbers of power
electronic devices which produce harmonics when turning on and off frequently. The paralleling in
DG will increase the short circuit current, which depends on many factors, such as the type of DG,
operation mode, capacity, permeability rate and the method of interfacing with the system. This
change will affect the original protection coordination of the network. According to the relative
position of the short point and the access point of the DG, the short circuit current in the protection
equipment will change dramatically. Therefore, the current arrangement of protection equipment
requires resetting. Moreover, a high penetration of distributed generation may change and reverse the
power

How To Write A Sample Of A Thesis ACKNOWLEDGMENTS I would like to thank the members of my committee: Prof. Christian Pongratz, Associate Dean Maria Perbellini and Prof. Dustin White for their support during the development of this thesis. Without their collaboration and guidance this thesis would not have been possible. I would also like to thank the Fabrication Shop team at the College of Architecture, especially Mike West for sharing their knowledge in fabrication and always being willing to help. In addition, I would like to thank the other departments within Texas Tech which provided me with knowledge with topics specific to their field. From civil engineering department, Dr. Sang Wook Bae whose help was extremely important for this thesis. From the electrical engineering department, special thanks to those students who volunteered their time for this project to come to a full circle: Nicholas Wilson, Kirwa Boit, and principally Kenyan Burnham who was actively collaborating since the conception of this thesis. Also, I would like to give thanks to all of those who have supported and challenged me throughout my academic career. • 3. Morgan Spurlock s Film, Super Size Me Essay As Steven Spielberg once said, documentaries are the greatest way to educate an entire generation (Azevedo, 2013). In Morgan Spurlock s documentary Super Size Me, audiences are informed and shown the dangers of consuming fast food everyday. Spurlock has a camera follow him for one month as he consumes McDonalds for each meal thus exposing one to the unhealthy affects of the lifestyle. Relying on images, interviews, and statistics the viewers are informed of how processed fast foods begin to affect people starting from a young age. This documentary style film shapes the perception of the spectator through the use of visual and narrative techniques. Through narrative and editing Spurlock removes any biases that may alter the results of his experiment (Cornell, Lecture #12). He films himself as well as others in uncontrolled situations, the audience is put into his shoes as they watch these situations unfold just as he once did (Cornell, Lecture #12). Spurlock sets rules to control the experiment for more accurate results. These rules include eating three meals at McDonalds each day, only eating or drinking items that are sold by McDonalds, super sizing meals only when asked, and trying everything on the menu at least once. Rather than visiting the same McDonalds and dealing with the same employees, he travels around to different cities and states. In the beginning of his experiment, Spurlock travels to Houston, Texas which is known for being the most obese city in the United States. On his first trip to a McDonalds in Houston he is automatically asked if he would prefer to super size his meal. Throughout his entire 30 day experiment he is asked to super size his meal nine times, five of those times are from employees in Texas. Questioning a vast array of people in schools and on the street, Spurlock attempts to provoke responses in subjects being interviewed as well as the audience (Cornell, Lecture #12). • 4. Heat Movie Analysis Don t let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner. Robert De Niro s famous line playing the criminal Niel McCauley sets the tone for Michel Mann s Heat. Mann is able to have high octane action one would expect from a crime movie while displaying intimacy in the main characters. The combination of the two is what makes the film a crime drama (even though Michael Mann argues that it doesn t belong to a genre). That intimacy is what makes Heat memorable. Mann creates the intimacy in a number of ways: through types of shots such as close ups and zoom ins, the score and the soundtrack, his use of lighting, camera angles, filming locations and use of shadows among others. The utilization of close ups and zoom ins allows the audience to get to know the characters. It shows the wear and tear on the characters faces. We can see the pain, the hurt; we re able to feel how tired the characters are from their deep sighs and the dark circles under their eyes. Michael Mann wants the audience to become as close to the characters as possible. We are introduced to Al Pacino during a sex scene, that s about as intimate as the character to audience relationship can get. The intimacy is at an all time high during the coffee shop scene in which the previously mentioned quote is taken from. Roger Ebert (1995) stated, The scene concentrates on the truth of Heat , which is that these cops and robbers need ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not just how will life end but how will the world end. Some cultures are molded by the way that specific groups believe the end times will come to fruition. Eschatological concepts are those that concern themselves with the end of the world, as we know it and how it will come about. One thing that is for certain is across the ages there is a consensus that this will occur, though there may not be a consensus on how. As crippling symptoms of edema, oliguria, and neuropathy worsen, fever and convulsions finally seal the sailor s demise. Tragically yet predictably, only one ship out of the squadron of six returned from its mission. The Chaplain of commodore s flagship described stricken sailors symptoms as: skin black as ink, ulcers, difficult respiration, rictus of the limbs, teeth falling out and, perhaps the most revolting of all, a strange plethora of gum tissue sprouting out of the mouth, which immediately rotted and lent the victim s breath an abominable odor. Garnie gives a speech about Lulda at her funeral until he is interrupted when Oakley returns. He then condemns his sister, Oakley, to Hell for having an affair with Honey Breedwell. This demonstrates that Garnie is a dynamic character because he has changed from the sweet little boy he was when he and Ivy were children and is now a hellfire and brimstone preacher. The passing of the BCA and the subsequent loss of funding mark an end to a 13 year period of robust budget allocations to support the global war on terrorism. • 23. Makeup Of Makeup Samuel Pepys did make note of the heavy makeup used by Nell Gwynne and her co worker Mrs. Knepp on stage, and how frightful he found it, so it is likely that even if makeup, in general, had an artificial look, stage makeup went a few steps further. Red cheeks connoted youthfulness and health, yellow cheeks age and illness. The eyes were outlined with black and shaded with colored pigment, blue being quite popular. Hair powder was used on the stage as well, and the color of it could be used either to compliment the actor or actress s look, or be chosen to suit the character they played. False facial hair was another means to change an actor s look. Makeup in the 17th and 18th century was quite simple, but with a very artificial look. The ideal, for both men and women, was a pale face, enhanced with cosmetics aimed to lighten the complexion or with white makeup. As with the lips, there is no real evidence that brows were blotted out and repainted higher up on the brow, though that may have happened in the theatre for effect. Patches were very popular throughout both the 17th and 18th century, most commonly round and black made out of taffeta, velvet or paper, but larger and more elaborate shapes were also in use (Samuel Pepys diary). The story starts off in a courtroom, where Socrates is addressing the men of Athens about the persuasive words of his accusers (Plato 1). Socrates states that he is a man of old age, being over seventy years old (1). He states that this trial is the first time he has ever been in a court of law, and he asks them to excuse any language that he may repeat (1). • 26. Examples Of Archetypes In Carl Jung The book starts with the world that is full of wizard and magic. The first impression that the main character gave me is that the character is wild but naive. For example, Ged s first action where he tries to mimic his aunt s magic which caused him to stand out. His innocent and not knowing mind cause many to be fearful of him since he is powerful although he is just as ordinary as the others. In addition to this, Ged is also somewhat lonely in which his mom died when he is young and that his older siblings are all gone far away. He didn t really find much find when he entered the School for Wizard. However, I think that these example for lonesome cause the character to be not caring and more wild compared to others. Moreover, one action that the main character did that stands out the most to me was when he tries to save the whole land of Gout using his little trick. In addition to this, Ged shows the heroic archetype in the beginning of the book when he uses his trick to forecasting a fog/shadow over the mountain in order to save his people in the town. • 27. The Four Concepts Of Symbolic Interactionism Symbolic interactions are a major part of how we socialize with others. It happens every day without us even realizing it. There are many concepts that assist in the formation of symbolic interactions, but to better understand them, we need to apply them to social settings. The four concepts of social interactionism theory I chose to observe at the social settings of my choosing were; definition of situation, symbols, front regions, and role playing. These concepts often interrelate as they all are a part of each other. To better understand these concepts, they were applied to two different social settings which were the bar and mass at the Catholic church. The concepts will be defined and reviewed in the order above. When we refer to definition of situation, we are referring to what the entrance of the social setting encompasses. We look at what are the norms, the rules, and what is acceptable in that setting. For example, when I was entering the bar, there were people outside smoking. To be able to walk through the front doors, there was a man who one had to give an ID to so he could check the age to allow the person to get in. When I walked through the doors, there were people sitting at tables in groups of three to five people on the left who would look to see who was entering the bar. On the right side of the bar, there were four people playing foosball and two people at each pool table. As I continued to the back, there were people sitting at the bar visiting. ... • 28. Different Times, Different Ideals Different Times, Different Ideals The world is a very different place than it was 1,000 years ago. There was a time in our history that women were not valued for anything other than their sexual function, and they were expected to quietly tumble into the social image men created for them. Racism also was commonplace and widely accepted, and violence was a casual occurrence of life then. This time period is known as the Victorian Era. A very widely known children s book today was actually written during this time period by J.M. Barrie Peter Pan. This novel created for children contains the Victorian Era s socially accepted ideals relating to sexism, racism, and violence and the physical acts resulting from the prevalence of these ideas at that time, which are most certainly outdated and considered inappropriate for children in today s society despite the obviously uninformed popularity that remains with this tale. This book displays its sexism quite openly. There is an ongoing battle of two exceedingly different sides of womanhood throughout the story. It encourages the engagement between a mother like figure and a harlot. Throughout the novel, all the female characters must either be parental or crave the companionship of a male character, which often results in jealousy. Wendy and Tinker, being the two main female characters of the story, represent these two different types of women acceptable in the Victorian Era. • 29. Censorship And Its Effect On Society nformation is one of the most fundamental means by which people can acquire power and influence in Western society. It is also said that information is practically the most powerful and important weapon against corruption in the world. Those who have access to sensitive information, by whatever means either through corruption or unrestricted access, can use this information to demand bribes and even obtain more information by corruption or hide it from others. Owning that access and practicing the act of corruption and maladministration will increase transparency and will also enable society and even media to know and use the right information as the truth will be covered. The right to know the information and to fully understand society s rights is a great value that is not always realised by society, but given the example of the government, the ones who own more information have the power to hide their own actions and to control the information censoring media. As far as the government is concerned privacy, political and economic information is not to be shared, therefore they can deny access to it. This type of information is controlled making society unaware of what is happening. Fortunately, it is a two way role. There are laws to prevent this from happening and also to give access to the right and non sensitive information. Information free from corruption is vital for society to know what is happening. This has stemmed from a variety of different sources, mostly standards that I set for myself. Without these standards, I would never have become the person I am today. The lifestyle I live brings pressure along with it. But, I enjoy everything that comes with the way I live my life. Unlike others, I was put under a tremendous amount of pressure at a young age in the classroom, and on the court. Pressure may be in many ways, depending on the person going through a situation where it is present. For me, pressure is when someone is asking me to do something that I cannot do. Unfortunately, many times, the issue was internal. Most of the time, I felt like I could not do something, rather than letting someone else do it for me. This feeling was often a major factor in determining whether or not I wanted to do anything outside of my comfort zone. Once I entered middle school, pressure began to set in. When I was in the seventh grade, academics became more difficult, and the work load increased. However, as all of my friends did, I signed up to play middle school basketball. I was very excited to play for a new coach, who happened to be at the time Chris Wheelock. • 31. Hamlet, why did he delay Essay William Shakespeare, perhaps the greatest playwright of all time, authored a number of works consisting of sonnets, comedies, and tragedies. In his brilliant career, Shakespeare created literary works of art. What makes Shakespeare unlike any other writer of his time, is his ability to organize a realistic plot, manage themes, and develop characters within his works (Nordling). As well, Shakespeare s ability to provoke feeling and reaction to his writing is also what sets him apart from other common writers. Of his works, Hamlet is perhaps the most studied and most interesting of the collected tragedies. In this play, many question the actions of the characters and particularly the actions of Hamlet. (Eliot) Why then, does Hamlet require five Acts to finally prove this concept? A number of different possibilities exist. The single, most important of these possibilities are Hamlet s internal conflicts within his own mind, body, and soul. From the first Act, Hamlet displays a substantial amount of concern for his mother. quot;...Why, she would hang on him / As if increase of appetite had grown / By what it fed on; and yet, within a month / Let me not think; Frailty, thy name is woman! quot; Clearly, Hamlet s concern for the Queen, his mother, is genuine. Within this thought, Hamlet realized the severity of his mother s actions while also attempting to rationalize her mentality so that he may understand, and perhaps, cope with the untimely nature of the Queen s marriage to Claudius. Understandably, Hamlet is disturbed. (Nighan) Gertrude causes such confusion in Hamlet that throughout the play, he constantly wondered how it could be possible that events would turn out the way that they had. This unfortunate turn of events is often questioned since Gertrude, the same woman who had instilled a great sense of religion in Hamlet, contradicts such a value that proves quot;Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. quot; (Nordling) While regarding this as the principal means for Hamlet s frustration, it is not until seeing a spirit form that Hamlet decided to seek the truth, and ultimately, exact revenge. The introduction of DG in distribution network changes the traditional radial structure into multi power structure and demands a huge shift on size and orientation of power flow thus influencing voltage distribution of the network [15]. The control of the DG requires large numbers of power electronic devices which produce harmonics when turning on and off frequently. The paralleling in DG will increase the short circuit current, which depends on many factors, such as the type of DG, operation mode, capacity, permeability rate and the method of interfacing with the system. This change will affect the original protection coordination of the network. According to the relative position of the short point and the access point of the DG, the short circuit current in the protection equipment will change dramatically. Therefore, the current arrangement of protection equipment requires resetting. Moreover, a high penetration of distributed generation may change and reverse the power ...
