Marion Jones Research Paper
Marion Jones, Former World Champion
A former world champion track and field athlete from 1992 2007, and a former professional basketball
player who played 47 games for the Tulsa Shock, Marion Jones has won 3 gold medals and 2 bronze
medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, making her the first woman to win five
track and field medals at a single Olympics. However, she admitted to using banned substances and
subsequently returned the medals. Marion Jones has said that she has been using a steroid called the
tetrahydrogestrinone (THG), or commonly known as the clear , since 1999. With this, her career,
reputation, endorsement, and her freedom was lost.
Marion Jones has let the public know her usage of the clear since 1999 in 2007. She has also gone to
jail for 6 months for using ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to evolutionary.org, THG is most known for being associated with the Olympics and
professional athletes, and specifically the BALCO scandal. As stated by Steve Sim, the clear increases
lean muscle, increases strength, faster recovery and reduces catabolism . Another positive effect on the
body is reduced muscle catabolism or breakdown of muscle following intense exercise which aids
muscle development. Although there are positive outcomes, there are many negative consequences
that follow. Any time an athlete is using an anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS), they can expect
suppression of the pituitary glands. You will have increased aggression, irritability, and mood swings.
A development of over sized mammary glands can occur in males. Furthermore, a decrease in libido
from elevated prolactin, would be very possible. An increase in blood pressure, heart strain, and other
organ strain would of been very common after taking the THG. Other side effects when a female takes
THG is virilization, which includes enlarged clitoris, deepening voice, and facial

How will the budget be monitored and controlled?
Activity 5.: A basic budget
In pairs (15 minutes)
Think about your home. What are the main items that you have to pay for? Think about items that you
know you need to pay for regularly, and those that you pay once a year.
Develop a budget that shows the income and expenditure in your home.
Item Amount
Income items
Many people only think about budgeting for expenditure.
A budget must also show what income you anticipate getting and from whom.
A budget is a planning tool. You need to know what your income will be, before you can plan what to
spend.
Examples of possible income items:
Donations promised
Donations likely
Interest
Sales e.g. of promotional material, or other goods
Sale of advertising time
Fundraising events
Sales of services (e.g. DJ at a function)
Sales of programmes
Expenditure items
Your budget must cover all the expected expenditure. There are two kinds of expenditure items:
1 Capital costs: include the cost of the actual building, your equipment and furniture, cars etc. These

Routing Algorithms For The Network
Routing Algorithms
Routing as we can say is selecting the best path in the network to transfer data from one point to
another. And Routing algorithm on a router in computer networks decides on which incoming line a
packet should travel and thus creating the routing decision. It depends on various factors like stability,
robustness, simplicity, correctness, fairness and optimality.
Routing algorithms are based on two classes namely. Adaptive : In this the routing process is adapted
based on any changes made to the topology or traffic.
Eg: Hierarchical, Link State, distance vector, broadcast and multicast. Non Adaptive: In this process
the routing decisions are mostly computed in advance and will be downloaded to the routers at the
boot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a level 2 routing system and we can use 3 to 4 level of these kind of routings aswell.
2. Link State Routing Protocols: It calculates the best paths to network by constructing the topology of
the entire network area and then map the best path from this topology or map of all the interconnected
networks. The inputs of LS algorithm i.e network topology and the link costs are known before hand.
This can be achieved by having each broadcast link state packets to every node in the network and
thus each link state containing the cost of its attached links. This is termed as link state broadcast.
In LS algorithm, every router must do some the following things, Find the clients and record the IP
address Gauze the delays and cost of every client. Build a LS packet to send this packet to each and
every the router on the network. And then find the shortest path on every router.(Sink tree)
3. Distance Vector Routing: DV algorithm is distributed as it receives information of one or more
nodes which are directly attached to it and distributes the same back to its neighbors. It is said to be
asynchronous because as it does not need all of the nodes to operate in lockstep with one other. And it
is iterative because as this process continues as long as there is no information to be exchanged
between the neighbors.
In this routing there are two vectors called a delay node and a successor node, so router ihas

Child Labour In Colombia Essay
The child labour is a serious widespread social problem for the rural and urban Colombia. There are
many reasons why the children in this country are submitted to work either by their own or an
obligation.
Until some years ago, in the rural zone the families were numerous specially to ensure a cheaper
workforce showing a well known growth of the population in these zones instead of the urban ones
where one didn t see this problem and increasing the incident of poverty. So, the principal reason of
child labour in Colombia is that the children meet forced to help economically their families according
to an investigation of the Dane.
Accessing to education is a challenge for many Colombian children, especially indigenous and Afro
Colombian because is hindered by internal armed conflict, impassible routes and long distances
between the children s homes and the school in rural areas.
Domestic work is an issue that Colombia began to address relatively in 2014, in consultation with the
ILO. More work is needed to change the cultural belief that domestic work doesnÂŽt constitute child
labor, a belief that particularly disadvantages girls, who are the majority of those who labor in the
privacy of the home where child labor is more difficult to detect. Household chores are classified
among the worst forms of child labor (servitude, domestic work), and accidents in the home are the
fourth most common cause of death and injury in Colombia.
This issue affects in diverse ways around the

Who Is The Monster In Beowulf
A monster named Grendel threatens the life of the Danes. He would go to Herot (mead hall of the
Danes) and would gorge on all of the bodies. He would kill all of these men for years. One day,
Hrothgar (king of the Danes) finds Herot empty. Higlac (king of the Geats) hears how Hrothgar is
suffering with the monster named Grendel. Then Beowulf (Higlac s nephew), hears about what has
happened in the land of the Danes. Beowulf then sets off to the land of the Geats by boat, but taking

The Theme Of Identity In The Cellist Of Sarajevo
If you could revisit any moment in your life and change the decision you made, would your identity be
any different? Could your identity, the values and beliefs you hold, be altered or erased by one drastic
event? One novel, which explores the development one s identity is Steven Galloway s The Cellist of
Sarajevo. Galloway clearly explores identity through the three main characters of the novel; Alisa,
Kenan, and Dragan, conveying a clear lesson about hope through the experiences of the three
characters. Though the conflicts from the siege cause them all to deviate from their personalities
before the siege, they eventually all revert to their original personalities, regaining their identities.
In the novel during the Siege of Sarajevo, Alisa ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The answer is a resounding no. The choices people make over the span of their life, the values, morals,
and beliefs they hold shape their identity. Though an event like the siege may temporarily disrupt an
individual, causing them to stray from their path and for a period of time, make decisions they would
not usually make, there will always be hope. Despite the conflicts that the siege brings, the characters
all maintain a shred of hope and with it a shred their personality before the siege, and after they fully
regain hope, symbolized by the music of the Cellist, they all revert back to the people they once were.
The deviations in behavior, beliefs, and values all occur due to the initial shock of the siege, however
even such a tragedy is not enough to uproot Alisa, Kenan, and Dragan s identities. When one strays
from their path, whether it be from fear, anger, or anguish, they will always be hope in the back of
their mind. People will always adapt, at some point they will come to terms with reality, and their
quietly whispering hope will scream. Eventually, like the main characters in the novel, people will
regain hope and with it their identity. Conflicts which lack a persona; the nameless and faceless men
on the hills, do not have the ability to rob or destroy anyone s

In his first season in Canada, he did not play very much. This is true because the Dodgers wanted to
keep him a secret from other teams. They did this by benching him when every he was good. They
had trouble with this because he was a great player, and got benched almost every game. This did not
work because Clemente got benched so many times he wanted to quit. Fortunately for him, the owner
of the Dodgers Branch Rickey resigned and then became the owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He then
knowing how good Clemente was, gave him an offer. Clemente then signed the offer and became a

Pittsburgh was. Clemente almost never had been to the U.S. and did not know how many racial
barriers he had to conquer in order to become successful. The press was making fun of him and hated
him just because he was Spanish and African American. Some examples of what the press would do

Clinical optometrists take on the task of routinely evaluating and dealing with patients on a daily basis
while also attempting to maintain a healthy, successful business environment. The book Clinical
Procedures for Ocular Evaluation describes how clinical optometrists maintain healthy relationships

patients and observing changes in mood and activity, communicating quickly, effectively and

Nazi Germany Beliefs
As we all know, Nazi Germany is probably one of the most remembered things that ever happened in
history. So with that in mind, what is the true belief system behind the Nazi party? We all know that it
was probably, in many people s opinions, one of the most discriminated times in history as well. But
through a lot of research I found out that even though it was a really bad time for Jews, gypsies,
homosexuals, and colored people, it wasn t that bad on the economy, so with that in mind, what is the
true belief system behind the Nazi party? Why did he do what he did, and what was his point? Hitler
cared about Germany immensely and tried to show that he wanted what was best for the country. So I
will discuss some of his beliefs throughout what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We now realize that, sure, the whole death camp thing was not the way to go, but Hitler was an
extremist. He really believed that these people were causing major problems, and he convinced many
younger people of Germany so that they would have an impact on the next generation. Even though
all of this was sickening, his other strategies really helped the economy that was having major
problems during this time period. Hitler wanted a New Germany he wanted to focus on making a new
Germany a place where there are no mistakes, and everyone was perfect, and remember his form of
perfect was white, blonde with blue eyes, Christian and straight. He didn t accept anyone else. He didn
t want people like gypsies and homosexuals, he also felt like the Jews were the reason for Germanys
defeat in WWI so he needed to do something about them too. Hitler s extremist beliefs resulted in all
of these horrible things we still mourn about today. He loved his country like a nationalist but went to
extremes to save it. The devotion he put in his country helped when it came to economic possibilities.
Hitler had used his appearance in the courtroom to send a message to the General Staff that there
would be no attempt to replace the regular Army with an army of storm troopers and that once in
power, the Nazis would raise the German Army to new heights of greatness. This was exactly what the
generals wanted to

Essay on Analysis Of Its A Wonderful Life
This was an extraordinary movie that showed the homely small town moral values through glossy
studio production. I really enjoyed this movie. It has very quickly become one of my favorite movies
of all times. The characters were very good. I thought this movie to be beautifully told and acted, with
Reed, Barrymore, and other ensemble members perfectly cast. The actors were very convincing.
George Bailey was an ordinary guy. An example of this was went he was at the train station waiting
for his brother, Harry. He said, quot;Do you know what the three most exciting sounds in the world
are?...Hanker chains, plane motors, and train whistles. quot; He appreciated small things like that. I

Clarence gave George his book, and in it was written: quot;Remember no man is a failure who has
friends. That was a lesson that George learned. His friends helped him in a time of need, just like
George had done for them their whole lives. George learned that he really did have a wonderful life.
The words quot;It s a Wonderful Life, quot; tell a wonderful story. That s what the whole movie was
about. We as the audience, go to see just how wonderful George Bailey s life really was. The movie
shows the values of a family, and how much George took them for granted. He took them for granted
until he felt what it feels like to live without them. This film showed that there was a lot more to
George s history than just his life. He had saved Harry s life when they were just kids. Later on Harry
stopped an aircraft from running into a lot of soldiers, which saved all their lives. So in the long run
George saved all those soldiers too.
I believe this was an accurate depiction of the 1930 s. It showed how the town reacted when the stock
market crashed. People were frantic. Everyone was out of money. But through most of the movie,
George Bailey was strong about everything. He kept his head up high, and continued with his life.
Also, another accurate account of the 1930 s was when Harry Bailey went away to fight in World War
One. Then Mrs. Bailey and others

of Rennalls. Therefore, the misunderstanding will continue to rise. Baker should also make another
discussion or meeting with Rennalls before hiring him back. This step should be taken to explain the
misunderstanding that happened and also to prevent another similar incident to happen again.
However, the consultation is needed for Baker to build up a better communication skills before having
a conversation with Rennalls again.
Long term Create a Diverse and Peaceful Work Environment
The Caribbean Bauxite Company should organize the company in a diverse and fair working
environment. Firstly, the company should evaluate the employees based on their performance but not
their skin colour, culture and background. The company should give a chance to every employee that
has high performance and high interpersonal skills without any bias. A diverse environment must be

American Industrial Revolution
Spinning Machines have helped the American Industry for as long as they have been around. The idea
of having a spinning machine was to make wool into yarn; this made it easier for people in the
clothing industry more productive with the making of their products. Compared to today s spinning
machines for wool and clothing making, spinning machines then were just the building blocks for the
clothing industry. The idea of Spinning Machines was introduced by James Hargreaves in 1764.
Hargreaves before his invention was working as a weaver and carpenter in his home country of land

Why All Police Officers Should Carry Tasers
In this day and age self protection is always a key concern for many people. The fear of crime and
even the people who commit crime, there is always a chance that you could get robbed, caught up in
physical altercation, or even happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. People in general

I feel the answer is yes and here s why. Much of these reasons are based on my own experiences
working as a federal law enforcement official with the United States Coast Guard overseas and on the
home front. All police should have effective methods to divert to when criminals are hazardous or
uncooperative. Usually police officers carry pepper spray, batons, and a firearm. In many cases the
baton is seen as brutal or violent method to get suspect to cooperate simply by beating them. Then
there is pepper spray which I have had personally shot in my face with. The pain caused by pepper
spray is intense ... [and causes] an involuntary closing of the eyes, a gagging reflex, and temporary
paralysis of the larynx (Wu, 371). It is very effective but on the flip side if a officer sprays pepper
spray the odds that some of the spray gets on the officer is also very likely causing discomfort and
possibly impairing the officer for seeing properly if it blows back in his eyes. Also, pepper spray
sometimes has no effect on people under the influence of drugs. Third, there are firearms and let s face
it if a gun is involved odds are very high that someone ends up dead and that s never a good thing. I

What Is Botox
BOTOX INJECTIONS AND ITS POTENTIAL USE IN MENTAL HEALTH
Introduction
I don t really believe in marriage. Now Botox, on the other hand, that works every time, quipped
famously in 2008 by Sex and City character Samantha Jones. The wonder drug she lovingly refers to
is the botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT), widely known as Botox. The very mention of the word Botox
harbours a polarising response. Many people question its safety and the ethics behind its use, while on
the other hand others have embraced it with open arms. In the last decade since its conception in 2000,
cosmetic Botox has been a recurrent fixture in the lives of women who want to maintain the youthful
look on their faces through the reduction of facial wrinkles. The use of Botox ... Show more content

approved for, as long as it was proved safe and beneficial for one specific use. This is legal in the

Allergan, generated global income of 2.45 billion in 2015 alone with a greater part of their global
revenue coming from therapeutic rather than cosmetic uses. These off label indications include using
Botox for migraines, back pain, Parkinson disease and depression. Hence although not approved by
government specifically for depression, psychiatrists have been prescribing Botox off label to patients
they feel would benefit from it. This warrants more rigorous research so Botox can have the
recognition it deserves if found to be useful in depression to be adopted into mainstream

Informed Consent In Prisons
One of the greatest problems in medical research in prisons was poor quality of, if any, informed
consent. Many people point to the Tuskegee study on the effects of syphilis, where subjects were
deceived into thinking they were gaining medical treatment and the lack of information violated the
principle informed consent (McDerott 10). Ethics professor Karen Lebacqz explains that informed
consent recognizes the autonomy of subjects (1), as does openness to subject s voice, and
confidentiality. Pont, Capron, and Overholser agree that informed consent is a great necessity and
must be done with clarity (187; 5; 196). The Nuremberg Code explains that all researchers are

Prison administration and medical researchers need to develop an attitude that is respectful, sensitive,
and seeks to improve and treat inmates. Overholster contends that prisons should aim to rehabilitate
inmates rather than punish them (194). Capron argues that the government should participate both in
forming and regulating policy (4). Perhaps, the government should set quotas on the number of
medical research experiments in prisons in order to invest more efforts and time in setting up a good
environment and regulating research. Depending on how research and treatment fares in prisons, the
government can tighten or relax restrictions on the purpose and nature of medical research in

The Walkman was the first device that allowed the isolation of people with their surroundings, which
is a commonplace these days (Costello, 2009). Many subsequent ideas after the success of the
Walkman was based on the two main features of the Walkman, portability and privacy. Nowadays,
people focus most of their time on these gadgets and somehow become tied to them, these gadgets
formed a balloon around its user, detaching them from the real world. Pell (2010) stated that
headphones and portability of new products reduced people s interaction with each other and it
became harder for people to know each other in depth. Even in crowded environments, people seemed

What Does Nike s Positive Gender Stereotypes
David Ogilvy, know for advertisement was quoted to saying never stop testing and your advertisement
will never stop improving. Nike s Dare to Dance advertisement broadcasts negative stereotypes about
females like creating an ideal image of a woman, having sexual innuendos and sex sells. Using these
negative gender related stereotypes could damage the idea of a person and make someone believe in
the fantasy of an ad instead of a real experience. The Nike ad creates a general idea of how a woman
should look, which could lower a woman s self esteem level. This ad involves a young athletic
woman, stretching her legs and using a bar to stretch. The woman in the ad is skinny, and has long
blonde hair, Nike is creating their personal image of how a woman should look. It is becoming a trend
for companies to use skinny models to market their products. According to Media Smarts there has
been a progression towards thinner and thinner models in ads and magazines: twenty years ago, the
average model weighed 8 per cent less than the average woman but today s models weigh 23 percent
less. Using the image of the skinner female could tarnish the idea of what a woman should look like,
causing others to force themselves to try and look like someone they seen in an advertisement.
Majority of the models in ads that look perfect are usually photoshopped. Susan Krashinsky, a
marketing reporter wrote an article on how photoshop has helped create a perfect image of a woman.

Women s Role Of Women In The Victorian Era
Victorian Era was an era in which women had endless predicaments in their lives. Women had
restriction, such as: what subjects they should study, they were not allowed to vote, they were not
grand their fortune after marriage, she should not leave the domestic sphere, and who should be
submissive. The role model for this concept was Queen Victoria herself, who, together with her
husband, Albert, had nine children and embodied the perfect family. She was even described as the
mother of the nation (BBC, Web). As I strongly disagree with the women s treatment back then, I want
to celebrate in this essay woman who, even a little bit broke the constraints and enjoyed their lives in a
period of oppressions. The beginning of this new women era, in which women asked to be heard,
started with Sunday Schools, in which the majority of volunteers were women, so they begin to go out
and interact with other people. The ones that are to be blamed for the women s situation in Victorian
Period are the women themselves, as Sarah Grand explains in her The New Aspect of the Woman

The Godfather Violence
The Godfather (1972) is a one of a kind film. I consider it one of the best American classics. This film
has it all from amazing action scenes that have you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is
going to happen next. The film also includes incredible famous actors, which includes Marlon Brando,
Al Pacino, and James Cann among many others. Throughout the film the main theme of the film
overall is violence. It is either really happening in a scene or it is being talked about between the
characters in the film. But in my opinion it all this violence that makes this film a classic. The
Godfathers opening scene is of a man ask for the help of Don Vito Corleone. Hey askes for some men

Health Risks of Tobacco Use Today Essay
Tobacco Use
Tobacco is a tall plant with wide leaves. The leaves are dried out and grinded up into little shreds and
rolled up in paper making cigarettes. However, while cigarette companies are creating their product,
they add many harmful chemicals, which are generally called tar, and toxic gases are added as well.
Cigarettes are highly addictive because of a natural chemical in tobacco called nicotine. Though
tobacco is harmful, you have to be 18 years old to purchase them from a store. In the past 10 years,
there has been more tobacco laws created. Now, nobody can smoke inside any business, there s a no

In Florida, a study by the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the University of Florida
found that the statewide smokefree law, which took effect July 1, 2003, has not hurt sales or
employment in the hotel, restaurant and tourism industries. (Chastain)
More and more health risks caused by tobacco are being discovered every day. Some risks are that you
can get blood clots and aneurysms in the brain, blood clots in the legs, coronary artery disease, high
blood pressure, poor blood supply to the legs, decreased ability to taste and smell, harm to sperm, loss
of sight due to an increased risk of macular degeneration, tooth and gum diseases, wrinkling of the
skin, and many more. (Zieve)
A lot of people stop smoking, but go to the most popular alternative; smokeless tobacco. The people
who switch from cigarettes to smokeless tobacco actually have more risks than just continuing to
smoke. They have increased risk of mouth cancer, gum problems, tooth wear, cavities, and worsening
high blood pressure. Individuals who smoke, assume smokeless tobacco is safer than cigarettes due to
the fact nothing is being inhaled through their lungs, however smokeless tobacco, often known as dip,
has fiberglass in the tiny pieces. While smoking, you re damaging your lungs, while dipping, you re
damaging your mouth. Almost every school system in the United States do not allow tobacco products

The Paris Peace Conference and the Treaty of Versailles
The damage inflicted on Europe during World War I was dire and left Europe in a state of chaos.
Consequently, post war peace settlements were complicated, but were necessary in order to end the
period of disorder. World War I concluded on November 1918, when Germany agreed to an armistice.
At the end of the war, European leaders realized that their reasons for initially engaging in the war had
not been worth it. Countries were torn apart, as established dynasties had fallen during the war and
new states were attempting to rise up. In early 1919, a conference was to be held, whose purpose
would be to end the period of disorder. The victors of the war, the Allies, would negotiate peace
settlements and then propose them to the losing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The German Problem was the overriding issue discussed at the conference, and because there were
decisions to be made about many different matters such as frontiers, reparations, and military
limitations, the countries had contrary ambitions, and were forced to make numerous compromises.
Each country was focused on achieving their own goals. The discussion of frontiers, especially the
German Rhineland, was controversial between the three countries because they each opposed the
ambitions of the others. France had very specific intentions, such as regaining the territory of Alsace
Lorraine and expanding into territories such as the German Rhineland. However, as France s size
would increase, so would its power, and this went against Britain s goal of establishing a balance of
power in Europe. Wilson believed that the opinions of the people of each territory should be
considered in their decision. The final decision was that France would regain Alsace Lorraine and the
German Rhineland would become a demilitarized zone, so Germany could no have no forces there.
This compromise satisfied each of the three countries because France desired a buffer state between
itself and Germany, and it would not threaten the British balance of power nor Wilson s ideas of new
diplomacy. This settlement shows that the delegates, despite their opposing views, were able to reach a
compromise. Disagreements between the countries during the negotiations of reparations caused a
large shift in

Inside Out Developmental Theory
The development of the human social behavior is dictated by a variety of factors. Essentially, these
factors act as the catalysts for the subsequent changes that are evident in the behavioral profile of a
given individual as he or she grows (Cavanaugh Blanchard Fields, 2015). In this regard, it is essential
to fathom the bio social development theories, developmental stages theories as well as the
development theories. To depict these behavioral changes, this paper will use the concept of the movie
Inside Out in the depiction of these changes. Released in 2015, Inside Out is a Disney produced

The personality of Riley changes as a result of the reaction to the external environmental stimuli. This
is evident as she dislikes her new home as well as the imbalance of the memories as pushed by the
external stimuli. Such changes include the social life in San Francisco, the bad pizza, and lack of
compatible friends in her new school. Riley s life is a clear illustration of the developmental stage
theories. Ideally, these theories focus on the quantitative differences that are evident in the behavioral
changes in a child s development (Newman Newman, 2015). The life personality of Riley changed as
she grew in different stages. For instance, she developed her ice hockey skills from an amateur skill
stage to a more professional stage in her senior school stages. Additionally, her parents become less
attached to her as she grows older, thus assuming a more independent personality. The movie
illustrates practical behavioral changes that are evident in my life as well. For instance, the impact of
the bio social development is evident in the effect of environmental factors on the personality
development (Ellis Tucker, 2015). For instance, my relocation to a better neighborhood subjected me
to difficult socialization following the class difference. Additionally, my personality has changed
greatly as I grew older and more

it was a tribute to his mom.Secondly I liked the way the artist used everyday items to create this piece.
The Art piece was very visual with the mom cooking and cleaning Fowler used cloths for her clothing

the iron board had the feels of home and the way he betrayed the house with a fireplace and a painting

The First Type Of A Person Essay
An individual can be one of three types of people when he is trying to remember someone. The first
type is someone who would off the bat recognize the other person as being familiar, but just cannot
recall that person s name in that exact moment. The second type would be someone who recognizes
the person by name, but would not recognize him when he sees him in person. The third type is the
person would be the star individual who could correctly recognize the person and confidently greet the
person by name. The majority of my friends, as well as myself, often lean towards the first type of
person. The feeling that the word, such as the name of a person, is within grasp, but for some reason,
you are incapable of verbalizing the word is known as the tip of the tongue phenomenon. It is also
frequently referred to as its abbreviated name: TOT. More often than not, we are used to hearing about
your parents or someone older who you know experiencing episodes of forgetting where they placed
items, such as their car keys, are. As troublesome as it may be, it is merely a symptom of growing

As we age, our memory will start to deteriorate along with our youthful appearance, causing us to
have a harder time to recall information, such as names. Information lasting more than 30 seconds in

floppy disk. It was first develop in the 5 1/4 form that could hold 360KB of information. This was
later expanded and storage went from 360KB to 1228.8KB or 1.2 MB of information. Striving for
more powerful and compact storage the 3 1/2 disk slowly but surely replaced the 5 1/4 disks. The
formats did overlap for some time as the 720KB 3 1/2 disk competed with the 5 1/4 360KB disk and

Summer Driving Research Paper
Drive Safely This Summer Memorial Day semi officially kicks off the summer travel season. Millions
of people take to the roads to vacation, explore new places, visit family and have fun. Your mind may
be racing with all of the things you need to plan and pack but don t forget about your vehicle! It s
always a good idea to get a car check up before a trip but especially in the summer, when heat, heavy
loads and traffic can take a toll (on your vehicle and your sanity). So, here s a handy summer driving
checklist to head off major issues while away from home. Get an oil change. Do this especially if you
re due for one, but also if you re close to being due. You ll be putting extra miles on your vehicle and
in conditions that are different from your usual daily driving particularly if you re towing a boat,
trailer or other vehicle. Better to be safe than sorry. Test your air conditioner. You ll know if cold air is
coming out when you turn it on, but you may want to check if the system is fully charged with
refrigerant and see if you have a noisy compressor. You don t want to be without cool air on a hot
drive and the belt that powers your AC also powers other important things, like your water pump. ...

rot on a trip, and you should ask for a flow test if you re concerned about a plugged radiator. Take a
look at your belts and hoses too, to make sure they are tight and in good condition. Make sure your
coolant isn t in need of replacement if it is, replace it now. Have your cooling fan and heater core
checked too. And when you have work done, it may be a good time to get your thermostat replaced.
This can be expensive work, but it will be worth it to not be stuck on the

Essay On Acropolis
The acropolis is one of Greece s most monumental pieces that is still standing today, Built as a place
of worship. The temples within its walls were used to worship Greek gods like Athena and Poseidon.
Rising over three hundred feet above the city of Athens, it can clearly be noticed why it is called The
Acropolis , which means top of the city . It isn t the only acropolis in Greece, but it was noticeable
more than the others because of its almost flawless planning in where each building is placed.
The winding rocky path that led up to the Acropolis was surrounded by numerous small shrines,
including one to the god Pan, who had appeared to the runner Phidippides before the battle of
Marathon. At its top was the Propylaia, an entryway and façade that formed the gateway to the
Acropolis. Once inside the Sacred Precinct you d notice the most fabulous building in there, The
Parthenon . The Parthenon was started in 447 BC, but they couldn t finish it so they completed it some
fifteen years later. It housed both a treasury and a sanctuary to Athena, in which was placed a fantastic
12 meter high ivory and gold statue of the goddess Athena , called the Athena Parthenos . ... Show

Despite these obstacles he was successful in creating a harmonious entrance. It took two hundred
years of experimenting to get it right. Each building is placed specifically to be pleasing to the viewer
s eye. As for the viewer s point of view every building is seen in perspective, and at any point from the
entrance there is only one face from each building that is seen. This is what made the Acropolis at
Athens have a great architectural and historic significance. What makes the Acropolis amazing is the
shrines and buildings within its

Elder-Beerman Store Corporation
There is a lot to learn about Elder Beerman Store Corporation. While doing this research there was a
lot of historical information that was unknown to me. However, learning about Elder Beerman was
truly an eye opener for me. Hopefully, this would be conveyed as the reader continues to be
enlightened during their reading of this research paper. Elder Beerman was not only an iconic
corporation it had a lot of history attached to its name alone. There were some ownership regarding
the company and how the name came to life and the rise and fall of the corporation. During the first
resection in the early 1900, this company continued to thrive and make individuals lives rewarding by
having reasonable pricing of their merchandise. The owners ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Beerman had offered to sell his stores to Rike s in 1959, but was rebuffed by the long established
rival. Although Beerman s stores had initially brought about a budget orientation by offering lower
priced merchandise executives had hoped to transform the merged chain into a classier operation b
offering brand namegoods to his franchised business. However, Beerman claimed that Rike s and the
Federated conspired with suppliers to keep many better quality brand names out of Beerman stores
through an exclusive contract.
Beerman won a $3.8 million judgment, including triple damages which was a stipulation regarding the
antitrust law. The case came to trial in 1969, but the verdict was reversed on appeal. Before the appeal
trial, a settlement was reached in which Rike s agreed to pay Elder Beerman $1.2 million, which was
the original amount without triple damages. As part of the settlement, the Dayton Mall had to provide
direct access from its parking lot to an adjacent Elder Beerman store (Funding University). However,
Beerman had accused the mall, and its developer Edward J. DeBartolo, and its major tenant, Rike s of
excluding his company from the mall. After defeating Rike s in court, Elder Beerman supplanted its
competitor as the Dayton area s most excellent retailer in the late 1970 s.
In Hamilton, Ohio during the 1968 Elder Beerman opened their

The Negative Impact of Social Networking Sites on People
Social Networking Sites People have been impacted by social networking sites. Social networking
sites have a negative influence on our generation because of bullying, predation, and an effect on our
education. With kids interacting freely they can come across predation. Furthermore, some predators
have an objective of enticing young people into sending inappropriate webcam photos of themselves
or to engage in sexually explicit conversations (Sexton and English 2). Kids are the easiest to
manipulate and to take control of. Also, critics of social networking sites claim that it contributes to
predatory or stalking behavior and can used to invade privacy (Belanger and Finley 1). Parents should
be going through their children s profile to make sure who they are talking to. Clearly, with kids
sending private information about themselves they can be blackmailed by the receiver into mental and
physical abuse. Our generation is mostly being affected by cyberbullying. Additionally, anonymity
online can cause people to engage in cyberbullying or other anti social behavior because of limited
fear of being caught or identified (Sexton and English 2). With the idea of not getting caught, people
think it s funny to cyberbully. In addition to, social networking websites are virtual communities that
encourage and foster interaction among members of a group by allowing them to post personal
information, communicate with other users and connect their profiles to other profiles

Cult Of Womanhood
Women during this period of time played many roles in taking care of the household, husbands, and
children. However, women did not have the same rights as men, Females did not have the right to
vote, could not own property, nor allowed to attend school and have a job other than taking care of the
household. Therefore, women could not continue like this and was known as The Cult of Domesticity.
The Cult of Domesticity also known as the cult of true womanhood was a designated role that women
had as a wife and mother. This cult prevented women from expressing their opinions or to support any
type of reform. Husbands were the head of the household who would work and control the finances.
While women were seen as incapable to act on politics

International Awareness And Intercultural Competence
Background Global awareness and intercultural competence are some of the hottest buzz words in
higher education right now. With the U.S. population becoming more diverse, and our economy
increasingly interlinked with economic issues globally, government, business, and society at large are
looking more and more to higher education to create the human capital necessary to continue U.S.
preeminence around the globe (Duncan, 2011). The method of choice in higher education for teaching
these competencies is through travel as a form of exposure to the world . This educational archetype is
generally termed study abroad . The majority of existing research around learning through travel
centers on the undergraduate study abroad experience (Lewin, 2009; VandeBerg, Paige, Lou, 2012).
This is because study abroad is generally an undergraduate phenomena, and is much rarer at the
graduate level. Graduate business education, particularly within MBA programs, is an exception. The
proliferation of travel programs within in MBA programs, with the goal of teaching students the skills
needed to be successful working in the global marketplace, can be directly linked to close relationship
between Business Schools and multinational corporations. The connection between higher education
and the market place is not new, as Rhoades and Slaughter (1994) vividly described in their 1993 1994
review of how higher education in the U.S. has shifted away from the public good and toward tight
cooperation

Wild Fire Research Paper
Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them (Acts 2:3
NRSV) Prayers for those affected by the wildfires in Alberta, Canada. Pray for those who have lost
their homes and all their possessions. Prayers for those whose work is affected. And of course prayers
for those who are fighting the fires. It s hard for me to get my mind around what it would be like to
live in an area with a wild fire. We don t have a lot of those in Ohio, certainly not in thesize and
devastation of the one in Alberta. We have Tornados. They are horrible. Bu they are quick. WIld fires
are different. They can move with terrible speed or at a slowed pace. You can see them coming, which

There are times when a part of a forest needs to be burnt away so something else can grow. It gives
space for new life in the forest as well. There are times, when fires will be intentionally set in order for
this to happen. This is done by what we call a controled burn. Those in charge have mechanisms set up
so the fire will be , well, controlled. They comparmentalize it so it burns exactly what needs to be
burned away and nothing more. Controlled burns are so benificial they are often used to fight an out of
control wild fire. Areas are set on fire to remove the fuel from the forest fire itself. when the wild fire
has nothing to burn, the fire will slow down, and hopefully be put out. This past Sunday we celebrated
Pentecost. Symbolized of course, not only by a dove but by fire. I like the symbol of fire to symbolize
the Holy Spirit. Because that s what the Holy Spirit does, when it comes upon us it comes like a fire. It
brings light to illumine our sin and light a path for us to follow in life. It causes our hearts to be
strangely warmed . It burns away our sin, and burns down old was to do things so that new life can
grow. We all love The fire of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. We are generally in favor of

The Experiences of Montag
In the beginning of this part, the writer presents the scene where Beatty prepares for putting Montag s
house on fire. Before igniting the fire, Beatty tells Montag that all of what is about to happen, is a
result of a wrong decision Montag made, which is the decision of reading and collecting books. Then,
Mildred runs out of the door with a suitcase, and takes a taxi that was waiting for her at the curb. So,
Montag suspects Mildred to be the one who sounded the alarm for the firemen to come. After that,
Faber asks Montag about what is happening at the moment, through the earpiece that he gave to
Montag before. Montag tells him, This is happening to me (Bradbury 115). When Faber comprehends
the situation, he advises Montag to run away from the whole scene. At this moment, Beatty starts
speaking to Montag about the beauty of fire. Beatty claims that the real beauty of fire lies in its
perpetual motion, which was the thing that man wanted to invent but never did. He also thinks that fire
is the solution to problems and burdens. that since Montag is a problem and a burden, then fire is the
solution that will lift Montag off his shoulders. As a tool of mental torture for Montag, Beatty insists
that Montag burns his own house, with his own hands, using a flame thrower. Through Montag s
earpiece, Faber repeats himself, and tells Montag that he should run away. Montag responds to Faber
aloud and tells him that he can t possibly run, since he is surrounded by the Hound.

Another positive effect on the body is reduced muscle catabolism or breakdown of muscle following intense exercise which aids muscle development. Although there are positive outcomes, there are many negative consequences that follow. Any time an athlete is using an anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS), they can expect suppression of the pituitary glands. You will have increased aggression, irritability, and mood swings. A development of over sized mammary glands can occur in males. Furthermore, a decrease in libido from elevated prolactin, would be very possible. • 6. Routing Algorithms For The Network Routing Algorithms Routing as we can say is selecting the best path in the network to transfer data from one point to another. And Routing algorithm on a router in computer networks decides on which incoming line a packet should travel and thus creating the routing decision. It depends on various factors like stability, robustness, simplicity, correctness, fairness and optimality. Routing algorithms are based on two classes namely. Adaptive : In this the routing process is adapted based on any changes made to the topology or traffic. Eg: Hierarchical, Link State, distance vector, broadcast and multicast. Non Adaptive: In this process the routing decisions are mostly computed in advance and will be downloaded to the routers at the boot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a level 2 routing system and we can use 3 to 4 level of these kind of routings aswell. 2. Link State Routing Protocols: It calculates the best paths to network by constructing the topology of the entire network area and then map the best path from this topology or map of all the interconnected networks. The inputs of LS algorithm i.e network topology and the link costs are known before hand. This can be achieved by having each broadcast link state packets to every node in the network and thus each link state containing the cost of its attached links. This is termed as link state broadcast. In LS algorithm, every router must do some the following things, Find the clients and record the IP address Gauze the delays and cost of every client. Build a LS packet to send this packet to each and every the router on the network. And then find the shortest path on every router.(Sink tree) 3. Distance Vector Routing: DV algorithm is distributed as it receives information of one or more nodes which are directly attached to it and distributes the same back to its neighbors. It is said to be asynchronous because as it does not need all of the nodes to operate in lockstep with one other. And it is iterative because as this process continues as long as there is no information to be exchanged between the neighbors. In this routing there are two vectors called a delay node and a successor node, so router ihas Di =[di1...diN]T and Si=[Si1...SiN]T dij = current estimate of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The choices people make over the span of their life, the values, morals, and beliefs they hold shape their identity. Though an event like the siege may temporarily disrupt an individual, causing them to stray from their path and for a period of time, make decisions they would not usually make, there will always be hope. Despite the conflicts that the siege brings, the characters all maintain a shred of hope and with it a shred their personality before the siege, and after they fully regain hope, symbolized by the music of the Cellist, they all revert back to the people they once were. The deviations in behavior, beliefs, and values all occur due to the initial shock of the siege, however even such a tragedy is not enough to uproot Alisa, Kenan, and Dragan s identities. When one strays from their path, whether it be from fear, anger, or anguish, they will always be hope in the back of their mind. So with that in mind, what is the true belief system behind the Nazi party? We all know that it was probably, in many people s opinions, one of the most discriminated times in history as well. But through a lot of research I found out that even though it was a really bad time for Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, and colored people, it wasn t that bad on the economy, so with that in mind, what is the true belief system behind the Nazi party? He really believed that these people were causing major problems, and he convinced many younger people of Germany so that they would have an impact on the next generation. Even though all of this was sickening, his other strategies really helped the economy that was having major problems during this time period. Hitler wanted a New Germany he wanted to focus on making a new Germany a place where there are no mistakes, and everyone was perfect, and remember his form of perfect was white, blonde with blue eyes, Christian and straight. He didn t accept anyone else. He didn t want people like gypsies and homosexuals, he also felt like the Jews were the reason for Germanys defeat in WWI so he needed to do something about them too. Hitler s extremist beliefs resulted in all of these horrible things we still mourn about today. He loved his country like a nationalist but went to extremes to save it. The devotion he put in his country helped when it came to economic possibilities. It has very quickly become one of my favorite movies of all times. The characters were very good. I thought this movie to be beautifully told and acted, with Reed, Barrymore, and other ensemble members perfectly cast. The actors were very convincing. George Bailey was an ordinary guy. An example of this was went he was at the train station waiting for his brother, Harry. The words quot;It s a Wonderful Life, quot; tell a wonderful story. That s what the whole movie was about. We as the audience, go to see just how wonderful George Bailey s life really was. The movie shows the values of a family, and how much George took them for granted. He took them for granted until he felt what it feels like to live without them. This film showed that there was a lot more to George s history than just his life. He had saved Harry s life when they were just kids. Later on Harry stopped an aircraft from running into a lot of soldiers, which saved all their lives. So in the long run George saved all those soldiers too. I believe this was an accurate depiction of the 1930 s. It showed how the town reacted when the stock market crashed. People were frantic. Everyone was out of money. But through most of the movie, George Bailey was strong about everything. He kept his head up high, and continued with his life. Also, another accurate account of the 1930 s was when Harry Bailey went away to fight in World War One. Then Mrs. Bailey and others ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nelson Mandela didn t just spread awareness to stop racism and apartheid but also wanted to spread love and kindness among the people of the world as during the UN they asked everyone to take 67 minutes out of their day to aid others. The reason the number 67 was chosen is because Mandela has spent 67 years of his life servicing and helping humanity as a whole, shows how much respect the world gives to Nelson Mandela as not a hero but also as a role model. Now Botox, on the other hand, that works every time, quipped famously in 2008 by Sex and City character Samantha Jones. The wonder drug she lovingly refers to is the botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT), widely known as Botox. The very mention of the word Botox harbours a polarising response. Many people question its safety and the ethics behind its use, while on the other hand others have embraced it with open arms. Many people point to the Tuskegee study on the effects of syphilis, where subjects were deceived into thinking they were gaining medical treatment and the lack of information violated the principle informed consent (McDerott 10). Ethics professor Karen Lebacqz explains that informed consent recognizes the autonomy of subjects (1), as does openness to subject s voice, and confidentiality. Nike s Dare to Dance advertisement broadcasts negative stereotypes about females like creating an ideal image of a woman, having sexual innuendos and sex sells. Using these negative gender related stereotypes could damage the idea of a person and make someone believe in the fantasy of an ad instead of a real experience. The Nike ad creates a general idea of how a woman should look, which could lower a woman s self esteem level. This ad involves a young athletic woman, stretching her legs and using a bar to stretch. The woman in the ad is skinny, and has long blonde hair, Nike is creating their personal image of how a woman should look. According to Media Smarts there has been a progression towards thinner and thinner models in ads and magazines: twenty years ago, the average model weighed 8 per cent less than the average woman but today s models weigh 23 percent less. Women had restriction, such as: what subjects they should study, they were not allowed to vote, they were not grand their fortune after marriage, she should not leave the domestic sphere, and who should be submissive. The role model for this concept was Queen Victoria herself, who, together with her husband, Albert, had nine children and embodied the perfect family. She was even described as the mother of the nation (BBC, Web). As I strongly disagree with the women s treatment back then, I want to celebrate in this essay woman who, even a little bit broke the constraints and enjoyed their lives in a period of oppressions. At the end of the war, European leaders realized that their reasons for initially engaging in the war had not been worth it. Countries were torn apart, as established dynasties had fallen during the war and new states were attempting to rise up. France had very specific intentions, such as regaining the territory of Alsace Lorraine and expanding into territories such as the German Rhineland. However, as France s size would increase, so would its power, and this went against Britain s goal of establishing a balance of power in Europe. Wilson believed that the opinions of the people of each territory should be considered in their decision. The final decision was that France would regain Alsace Lorraine and the German Rhineland would become a demilitarized zone, so Germany could no have no forces there. This compromise satisfied each of the three countries because France desired a buffer state between itself and Germany, and it would not threaten the British balance of power nor Wilson s ideas of new diplomacy. Besides those who work from home during the day, the majority of employees are also spending some time after hours working from home. Nearly 65 percent of employees globally conduct at least some business at home after business hours. • 40. The First Type Of A Person Essay An individual can be one of three types of people when he is trying to remember someone. The first type is someone who would off the bat recognize the other person as being familiar, but just cannot recall that person s name in that exact moment. The second type would be someone who recognizes the person by name, but would not recognize him when he sees him in person. The third type is the person would be the star individual who could correctly recognize the person and confidently greet the person by name. The majority of my friends, as well as myself, often lean towards the first type of person. The feeling that the word, such as the name of a person, is within grasp, but for some reason, you are incapable of verbalizing the word is known as the tip of the tongue phenomenon. It is also frequently referred to as its abbreviated name: TOT. More often than not, we are used to hearing about your parents or someone older who you know experiencing episodes of forgetting where they placed items, such as their car keys, are. As troublesome as it may be, it is merely a symptom of growing older. As we age, our memory will start to deteriorate along with our youthful appearance, causing us to have a harder time to recall information, such as names. The temples within its walls were used to worship Greek gods like Athena and Poseidon. Rising over three hundred feet above the city of Athens, it can clearly be noticed why it is called The Acropolis , which means top of the city . • 45. The Negative Impact of Social Networking Sites on People Social Networking Sites People have been impacted by social networking sites. Social networking sites have a negative influence on our generation because of bullying, predation, and an effect on our education. With kids interacting freely they can come across predation. Furthermore, some predators have an objective of enticing young people into sending inappropriate webcam photos of themselves or to engage in sexually explicit conversations (Sexton and English 2). Kids are the easiest to manipulate and to take control of. Also, critics of social networking sites claim that it contributes to predatory or stalking behavior and can used to invade privacy (Belanger and Finley 1). Clearly, with kids sending private information about themselves they can be blackmailed by the receiver into mental and physical abuse. Our generation is mostly being affected by cyberbullying. Additionally, anonymity online can cause people to engage in cyberbullying or other anti social behavior because of limited fear of being caught or identified (Sexton and English 2). • 47. International Awareness And Intercultural Competence Background Global awareness and intercultural competence are some of the hottest buzz words in higher education right now. With the U.S. population becoming more diverse, and our economy increasingly interlinked with economic issues globally, government, business, and society at large are looking more and more to higher education to create the human capital necessary to continue U.S. preeminence around the globe (Duncan, 2011). The method of choice in higher education for teaching these competencies is through travel as a form of exposure to the world . This educational archetype is generally termed study abroad . The majority of existing research around learning through travel centers on the undergraduate study abroad experience (Lewin, 2009; VandeBerg, Paige, Lou, 2012). This is because study abroad is generally an undergraduate phenomena, and is much rarer at the graduate level. Graduate business education, particularly within MBA programs, is an exception. The proliferation of travel programs within in MBA programs, with the goal of teaching students the skills needed to be successful working in the global marketplace, can be directly linked to close relationship between Business Schools and multinational corporations. Before igniting the fire, Beatty tells Montag that all of what is about to happen, is a result of a wrong decision Montag made, which is the decision of reading and collecting books. Then, Mildred runs out of the door with a suitcase, and takes a taxi that was waiting for her at the curb. So, Montag suspects Mildred to be the one who sounded the alarm for the firemen to come. After that, Faber asks Montag about what is happening at the moment, through the earpiece that he gave to Montag before. Montag tells him, This is happening to me (Bradbury 115). When Faber comprehends the situation, he advises Montag to run away from the whole scene. At this moment, Beatty starts speaking to Montag about the beauty of fire. Beatty claims that the real beauty of fire lies in its perpetual motion, which was the thing that man wanted to invent but never did. He also thinks that fire is the solution to problems and burdens. that since Montag is a problem and a burden, then fire is the solution that will lift Montag off his shoulders. As a tool of mental torture for Montag, Beatty insists that Montag burns his own house, with his own hands, using a flame thrower. Through Montag s earpiece, Faber repeats himself, and tells Montag that he should run away.
