Fundamentally, there are two ways of creating this general image. One is to describe the general
appearance of the device; the other is to compare it with something that is familiar to the reader. You
must be careful, of course, not to compare an unfamiliar thing with another unfamiliar thing.
Reference to the Score Keeper again suggests how illuminating a good analogy can be: To this
comparison might be added some such direct description as the following: It consists of a mechanism
enclosed in a rectangular metal case 1 5/16 in. long (3.3 cm), 7/8 in wide (2.2cm), and ¼ in. thick (0.6
cm) to which is attached a leather wristband. Size and shape are often the conspicuous characteristics
of a mechanism.
Organization of the Description
It is possible to divide almost every mechanism into parts. Such division is an essential part of a
detailed description. In the introduction to a description, a statement of the principal parts into which
the mechanism can be divided serves two purposes: the first is that it is an additional way, and an
important one, of giving the reader a general understanding of what the mechanism is. The second
purpose is to describe the principal parts one at a time, a list of principal parts in the order in which
you wish to discuss them is a clear indication of the organization of the remainder of the description.
From the point of view of physical arrangement, an ordinary umbrella might be

Cost Accouting Systems for John Deere Component Works
Management Consultants
Report
Executive Summary
John Deere Component Works (JDCW) has been subject to a number of unsuccessful competitive bids
due to the inherent deficiencies of their existing costing system. This has illustrated the importance of
obtaining a thorough understanding of costs, and desirability of implementing a superior costing
system.
This report contains: * A general overview of the problems confronted by JDCW * An analysis of the
current standard costing system * An exposition of Activity Based Costing (ABC) * An evaluation of
the strengths and weaknesses of each system * Recommendations

Following this revelation, management attention was directed to the current costing system.
Traditional Costing System
JDCW employed a traditional standard costing system throughout its operations. This form of costing
permeated the industrial era, which was categorised by low overhead costs and the production of a
limited variety of goods. Standard costing involves allocating overheads to cost objects using volume
based cost drivers, such as machine or labour hours. Albeit easy to implement and understand, this
system frequently results in over costing and under costing. JDCW priced their products based on full
costs, which included all direct material, labour, overhead and period overhead, using standard
costing. Whilst this practice was satisfactory for internal transactions, the inefficiencies were
emphasised when JDCW sought to bid for parts against external suppliers. Number of machine hours,
direct labour hours and material dollars were used as overhead allocation rates. By restricting the
overhead rates to the aforementioned volume based activities, several problems eventuated.
The Industrial Engineering department used pre established standard hours for direct labour runtime.
Using standard hours produced costing discrepancies, especially because no emphasis was placed on
direct materials, overhead and period overhead costs. This was an insufficient method to compare
actual and standard percentages.

Factors That Influence Middle School Parent s Decision
A. Background
This Since the beginning, of this century a global tendency to abolish corporal punishment have been
introduced to challenge old dependence on corporal punishment as a tool for reforming children s
misbehavior, according to Global Report (2008). According to Straus (2001) Corporal punishment is
defined as the use of physical force with the intentions of causing a child to experience pain, but not
injury, for the purpose of this control of the child s behavior , corporal punishment was almost
universally approved of and used by parents in at least the first three quarters of the 20th century. In
1977, the US Supreme Court found that the Eighth Amendment, which prohibits cruel and unusual
punishment, did not apply to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Researchers indicate that it is easier to expect the occurrence of corporal punishment than it is to
expect rate of use. In 1988, A National Opinion Research Center Survey found that 80% of Americans
either agreed or strongly agreed that it is sometimes necessary to discipline a child with a good, hard
spanking Flynn (1944).
Consistently, a massive number of students are subject to corporal punishment in state subsidized
schools. Although, the different issues connected with the hitting or paddling of students, beating is
legal document of school in a few states. There is no prohibition at the federal levels of corporal
punishment in all public and private schools.
II. Review of Related Literature
The article that related to the research topic is this that, Gershoff co authored that examined 20,000
kindergartners and their parents, she found that 89% of black parents, 79% of white parents, 80% of
Hispanic parents and 73% of Asian parents said they have spanked their children. But why do so many
black parents approve of disciplining their children that way? The answer is complicated, experts said.
Some researchers have suggested it s a legacy left by the brutality of slavery.
Some say it s established in

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Two Spains
What exactly does Las Dos Españas refer to? Las Dos Españas or the two Spains refers to the long
term hostility existing in Spain between the conservative and liberal political parties in Spain. The
conservative party is the more close minded Spaniards while the liberal party is more open minded
Spaniards. Spain is split roughly 50:50 between the two parties. The split is one of the most critical
aspects in the Spanish history. If one does not know about the Two Spains, one does not know the full
history of Spain. One of the main strengths is when both groups agree on the same ideas. But
periodically the Two Spains lose their patience and begin to challenge each other. The phrase Two
Spains originated in a short poem written by a Spanish poet Antonio Machado. ... Show more content

The Romans were in Spain for six hundred years, which dates back to 205 BC to 410 AD. Fernando
and Isabel then continued with the Conservative Party in 1492. The inquisition of Jews was
established in 1480 but the expulsion of Jews did not occur until Fernando and Isabel s reign over
Spain. Under the reign of Fernando and Isabel, all Jews were ordered to leave Spain; they were
allowed to dispose of their property but were not able to take any silver or gold out of the country. The
Conservative Party was a strictly Catholic party thus the expulsion of the Jews proves that religion
was used as a weapon during that time. The Conservatives appointed a strong central authority
someone who would be a voice of the party. The Conservative party made every effort to unite Spain

Class And Gender Analysis
Class and Gender can Change a lot of Things Many centuries prior to the nineteenth one there has
been numerous indications of the severity in horrible treatment of women, men and children. As one
would look into any decent history book, their would be pages on chapters of the treatment of the
civilization in them. Depending on what century one was looking into determined the good or bad
treatment. However some of the most documented treatment would have to be in the nineteenth
century. Thus far in the semester we have discussed numerous cases of men, women and children
being treated with little to no fairness within the Northern Hemisphere. Even though this showed the
people that the world did not owe them anything and they should work hard ... Show more content on

Although what one reads in a history book today seems outrageous, the aspect of the gender and class
roles have not changed as much as much as one would like to think. Al of the sources we have read
has in more ways than one related back into today s social and gender standards. Women are still more
then likely to be the homemakers . Women are also held to the responsibilities of the children to
ensure them getting ready on time, and are respectable in a group seating. Women are still paid less
than men. Men are still recognized as the breadwinners. Also, class plays a huge outcome in the stance
of where you live, how hard you work, and if you are educated or not. This just reinstates the role of
men and women, what they have been and what they will be for years to come. As much as these
sources were put in place to show the live within the nineteenth century I believe this is a perfect
example of history repeating

A Study On Annan Academy s Geography Class
Carlisle is the only city in Cumbria, automatically making it the administrative centre of the county.
Other than administration, Carlisle has several other areas in which its activities are focused, such as
tourism, shopping, and education. These areas are known as settlement functions. Functions tend to
change and develop as a city grows over the years. Carlisle is a successful city, but whether or not this
is due to its changing functions is debatable.
Annan Academy s Geography class went to Carlisle in September 2015 to obtain primary research
data of the city s geographical issues.
Method 1
In order to figure out some of the current main functions of Carlisle, the first research method used for
this report was two RICEPOTS surveys of different areas in Carlisle the CBD (the square near the
Tourist Information Centre) and the area from West Tower Street to Corporation Road. These areas
were chosen to display a contrast in the land usage of two areas of Carlisle which are close together.
The RICEPOTS surveys were completed by walking around the areas and annotating a map with the
purpose of each building in the area. Once both maps were annotated, the information was put into a
table before being compiled into a comparative bar graph (see: Graph 1).
The results show that West Tower Street to Corporation Road is largely residential, with 35 terraced
houses, and that the square near the Tourist Information Centre is largely commercial with 47

Property Creates Human Greed By Rousseau s State Of Nature
Property creates human greed. As soon as one man realized that it was useful for a single individual to
have provisions for two, equality disappeared, property came into existence, labor became necessary
demonstrates that men will subjugate and deprive others in order to act in self interest (74). Once the
strong came to understand the pleasure of accumulating more than is necessary for survival, they
thought of nothing but the subjugation and enslavement of their neighbors, like those ravenous wolves
that on having once tasted human flesh, reject all other food and desire to devour only men (78). This
inequality is illegitimate in divine abode of Rousseau s state of nature, but property develops
constructed legitimacy since ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because force is always illegitimate, property maintained through force is always illegitimate as well.
The illegitimacy of force is demonstrated by Rousseau s stinging condemnation of the sultan who
rules through force. The sultan s rule is illegitimate, but those who overthrow the sultan with force are
equally illegitimate. Rousseau explains that the uprising that ends in the strangulation or the
dethronement of the sultan is as lawful an act as those by which he disposed of the lives and goods of
his subjects the day before. Force alone maintained him, force alone brings him down (90). Property
can only be seized through force, which is always illegitimate, regardless of the current proprietor s
illegitimate claim to the land. In both Marx s depiction of society and Rousseau s, humans have
developed through a succession of stages to act in self interest, oppressing other humans for the sake
of material gain. They agree that property is a human construction created by the strong to solidify
social status and sustained through illegitimate legal and economic systems. For both philosophers,
illegitimate property leads to labor becoming deeply dehumanizing. The craving to own illegitimate
property comes from human greed, appetites, and socialization. On the surface, Marx and Engel s
theory is compatible with Rousseau s. The philosophies, however, have many significant differences.

Analysis Of The Poem Before You Were Mine By Carol...
The poems Before you were mine by Carol Anne Duffy and Mother any distance greater than a single
span by Simon Armitage, reflect on what it means to raise a child in the world. In before you were
mine , Anne Duffy shows how things change when you have child where as in mother any distance
greater than a single span Simon Armitage shows how hard it is to let go of your child. Duffy and
Armitage represent different parent child relationships. Ann Duffy s poem is about a relationship
between a mother and daughter. In Before you were mine , Duffy perceives her mother when she was
young and how things have changed since she had her child. The poet has a feeling of regret and
thinks its her fault that her mother lost some of her energy and being that bold girl winking in
Portobello . Duffy wishes her mother still lived a fun life even after she was born. Whereas in Simon
Armitage s poem, the mother struggle to let go of the son. Armitage writes that his mother s fingertips
still pinch the pinch meaning she cannot bear to let her son go which creates tension because the son
doesn t feel the same way. The poets are able to show how different kinds of parent child relationships
can reflect on how they feel about one another in the world. Duffy builds picture of her mother and
friends when she says on the corner you laugh on and her mother wearing a polka dot dress and then
mentions blows round your legs . Marilyne . The word Marilyne shows that the mother

Sykes Picot agreement. The Sykes Picot Agreement , officially known as the Asia Minor Agreement
was a secret agreement between the governments of the United Kingdom(Britain) and France, with the
assent aid of Russia, defining their biased proposed spheres of influence that provide them with an
advantage of gaining control in the Middle East should the Triple Entente succeeded in dethroning the
mighty Ottoman Empire during the first World War back in early 1919. The negotiation of this
treaty/agreement occurred between November of 1915 and March of the year 1916. The agreement

The agreement effectively used, implied and put into action the famous imperialistic tactic of the
Europeans: Divide and Rule . This agreement divided the Arab provinces of the Ottoman Empire

advantage in control and/or influence. Under Sykes Picot, the Syrian coast and much of modern day
Lebanon went to France; Britain would take direct control over central and southern Mesopotamia,

other Christian powers, namely Russia, held an interest in this region. The rest of the territory in

Partition Action Research Paper
d. The Parties to a Partition Action
The parties that must be included in a petition to partition are every joint tenant or tenant in common
who holds an interest in the property, and their spouses. Life tenants, judgment creditors, mortgage
holders, and other lien creditors should also be brought into the proceeding, even though they are not
required parties.
A life tenant in the property may join in the partition proceeding and upon a partition sale will receive
the fair market value of his or her interest. This sum will be paid either in an annual amount or a lump
sum paid out of the proceeds, based on a value of the share of interest in the land calculated in relation
to his or her estimated life expectancy.
Joint tenants or tenants in common may still obtain partition, in kind or by sale, even with the
existence of a lien. If an actual partition is successful, any existing liens will follow the share allocated
to the co tenant who is the debtor and the other tenants will be able to hold their interest
unencumbered by the previously applied liens. If the partition occurs by forced judicial sale then the
purchaser will take the property subject to the liens. The better practice is to make creditors,
mortgagees, or lien holders a party to the petition proceeding so that upon sale of the land the liens
will be extinguished and satisfied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Big Fish Magical Realism
Some of the most bizarre, intriguing stories and films out there may seem as though the events are

With different types of fiction, one often sees people or objects taking the place of something or

The Soviet Union And The United States
Due to the onset of the Cold War and the early 1960s, the popular and political climate in the United
States changed. The relationship between the Soviet Union and the United States was directed by
ideological, political and technological factors. The rivalry between the two powers rooted from their
contrasting ideological principles since the United States was a democratic republic where the people
believed that every citizen had equal representation in the government and the Soviet Union was a
communist nation. The US embodied the principles of a democratic nation believing in the ideals of
life, liberty and pursuit of happiness as well as having an economy that was based on capitalism. In
contrast to the ideology of the US, the Soviet Union fell under communist rule during the Russian
Revolution of 1917, which was based on the idea that all assets should be owned by the government
and then divided among the citizens of the nation. The Soviet Union took communism a step further
as the many of the leaders were totalitarian during the 20th century, meaning that all power was in the
hands of the ruler . In 1946, Churchill declared the separation between the east and west by saying that
an iron curtain had descended through the middle of Europe (Churchill Delivers Iron Curtain Speech

had clashed with western democratic principles. Furthermore, the two powers were in a nuclear

Samurai Dbq Analysis
The samurai the warrior for Japan, they were determined to defend their ruler no matter what the cost
is for example torture, Death or imprisonment. The knight was the warrior for Europe. They kept
order in Europe when there was none. Even though samurai and knights have many similarities, in a
one on one battle, the advantage would be to the samurai and this can be seen in their armor, training
and beliefs. The first way samurais would have an advantage is their armor. In document D written by
the DBQ Project it states The helmet bowl was made of 8 12 iron plates. This gives them the upper
hand because they had more head protection, this allows them to take more blows to the head. Another
piece of evidence that supports my claim is in document D written by the DBQ Project it says Below
it was a 5 piece neck guard . Their neck protection is probably one of the most important place to
protect because one hit to the neck can paralyze them or kill them. Although armor is important, there
are more subjects that could lead them to victory. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Vision And The Act Of Looking
The Ocular Spectatorship
Vision and the act of looking is an important and recurring theme in many horror films. In early gothic
literature, such as in Guy de Maupassant s Le Horla, the author presents vision as definitive and
universal proof and stresses the importance of seeing as well as the act of showing gore. As a society,
we are routinely told seeing is believing in the wake of any paranormal or supernatural phenomena,
placing weight on the tangible. However, as science and technology have progressed the faithfulness
of visual representation is increasingly throw into question, which in turn has led to societal anxiety. A
few years earlier, video footage of an event rarely had its validity questions, whereas now it is easy ...

Not only does it allow the viewer to fill in the gaps and imagine what the paranormal entity may look
like but the greatest factor that allows for the audiences anxiety is that they are constantly waiting for
a revealing, which never materializes. Some argue that there is a greater fear than the fear of the
unknown. As in Tony Perrello s argument, the viewer experiences more horror watching the victim be
attacked by the monster than being confronted by the monster itself. It has been noted that the
audience will mirror the reactions of the character on screen, screaming when they scream or shielding
their eyes when the victim on screen does, regardless of the role of the character. As in Hitchcock s
Strangers on a Train (1951), the director draws the audience into empathizing with the evil character
in a race against time to commit murder or James Whale s portrayal of Frankenstein s monster in
1931. Laura Mulvey also speaks of the spectatorship of siding with the killer in Peeping Tom (1960).
The audience simultaneously empathizes with the victims on the screen while occupying the killer s
point of view.
The Uncanny (Sigmund Freud)

speaks to seeing or experiencing new but also takes us back to our own psychological past or

Music Therapy Should Not Be Considered A Therapy
It is surprising to realize the practice of one small therapy could impact the world in a big and positive
way. Music therapy is the practice of using music to better the lives of people with motor, cognitive,
and speech disabilities, along with surgical patients. This is achieved by redirecting neural networks in
the brain with certain types of music selected for that specific patient. This is not a field for every
musician however, only educated students who are board certified should practice music therapy for
the safety for the patients. Although many people believe music therapy should not be considered a
therapy, it should be considered a mainstream beneficial medical practice and used worldwide. It
greatly increases the education of mentally disabled children, surgical patients have a safer option for
pain reduction, and it creates employment for people who are interested in a career dealing with
music.
Music therapy is the clinical and evidence based use of music interventions to accomplish
individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by an accredited professional who as completed
an approved music therapy program. Music therapists hope that scientific research continues to define
how their work differs from entertainment, and how it benefits patients as much as other more familiar
complementary therapies such as art therapy. (Mellskog) This shows how even though there is little
research and evidence on music therapy, it is still very effective and a

Liberal Arts Should Be Taught In College Essay
What is Being Taught in College?
What should colleges be teaching, is a question that many people are wanting an answer to. Should
colleges be teaching students liberal arts or should they just let liberal arts classes slip away? This a
controversy between students on every college campus. It is important to the students, because they
want what is best for themselves during college. I believe that students need to be taught liberal arts to
help better their learning abilities. In my own experience, I have learned that liberal arts classes may
be frustrating, but in the long run they have really helped to develop a better grasp on general
education. Liberal arts classes are a good way to begin college, instead of just jumping right in to a
major.

Students will still learn the same way, whether there are a lot of students or a little. Smaller class size
do not make a student perform better, that is up to the student, not the class size. Students can learn in
any type of environment; class size does not matter when it comes to a students learning ability.
Learning is not about where the knowledge is learned, it is about how it is learned and if a student is
willing to learn it. Some might also oppose that colleges should not make students take liberal arts
classes. Liberal arts classes do not always help a student develop better learning skills. Some liberal
arts classes are not even relevant to a students major. Having to take classes that are not relevant to a
student can be overwhelming and frustrating for them. It is too expensive for them to have to pay for
classes that are not relevant to their major. Students should be able to choose what classes they want to

Reasons for the Gap between Social Classes in America
USA is a very big country with a lot of people and the social classes are very important. We can see
that social class plays big part of people s life. Everyday people are working, studying, trying to be
better. Even though right now it s time when everyone has many opportunities in his life, anyway
there is a gap between classes and groups of people with same features. And your background
probably will build your future. And we need to find what kind of class we have right now and look
into these classes. The main idea is that Social Classes still exist and it s most general part of U.S.A
society. There are three reasons why gap between groups still exist. The first reason is that everyone
has different economic status. People divide by groups with same ideas, religion, economic status,
political views, and cultural features. For example in U.S.A we have poor people, very rich people,
and kind of middle people and we can t say that these families are same. People from each group have
different opportunities in education, medicine, and job. If you are from rich family you have more
chance to be succeed in this world, for you it will be much easier unlike someone from poor family.
The children from rich families will get best college or university degree, will find good job, and will
learn how to be rich from their parents. Money for now is very powerful tool in your hand, with
money we can go to our dreams. The statistic shows us that most of people while whole

The United States Army As A State Of Decline
The United States Army is in a state of decline. The Army s senior leaders are either oblivious to the
decline or only care about the popular issues such as sexual harassment or hazing. Today s junior
leaders are either incompetent, feel their hands are tied, or simply do not get the backing from their
senior leaders in order to effectively make changes. Our senior leaders blame their junior leaders, and
our junior leaders blame their senior leaders. The fact of the matter is that all leaders, from the Chief
of Staff of the Army to newest Corporal that was recently promoted this month, have to lead. 1

fifty other soldiers, and being yelled at constantly. What I experienced in my opinion, was an easy
basic training. Do what you re told and be where you needed to be and you would be fine. After basic

Teen drinking and driving
Drinking and driving is one of the biggest social issues for teens across the United States. Getting
behind the wheel of a vehicle after consuming alcohol is a very dangerous thing no matter what age
you are. However, teens do not think about the consequences of drinking and driving until it is already
too late. Many things contribute to this growing problem of teen drinking and driving. First, there is a
lack of education about drinking and driving in schools today. Next, peer pressure is difficult for many
teens to resist. Finally, the access that teens have to alcohol and to vehicles is not monitored.
According to blah blah study, 000% of high school students admit ... Show more content on

Simulation plays display the damages that can be done from drinking and driving. Hosting these
simulation plays will help young adults understand the consequences of driving after consuming
alcohol. Such a program has been used by local Law enforcement to help make students aware of the
dangers of drinking and driving, especially around Prom and Graduation. However, this program
could be used during other times of the year...so on.
Another problem that teens face on a daily basis is peer pressure. Teens face these pressures every day
about simple things such as who they like or dont like, what games they play, what they wear, etc.
These may seem harmless, but when it comes to peer pressure about more dangerous things, the
concept is the same. Teens face peer pressure to drink alcohol. 00% of teens say that they feel the
effects of peer pressure according to some study....
To help teens deal with the pressures they face from their peers, schools could start support programs
that include safe zones for meetings, for talking with others who are facing peer pressure, or for
talking to counselors or resource officers about the issues they are facing. There could also be an
anonymous way to exchange dialog with these resources so that teens could feel safe reaching out for
help while still remaining unknown by their peers.
A third issue that contributes to teens drinking and driving is their

The Global Distribution And Balance Of Power

literature on the global distribution and balance of power. Then, there will be an examination of the
most stable global distribution. Additionally, the United States ideal strategy to keep its military

Pape blames President George W. Bush s unilateral action in several fronts for making it possible for
other nations to balance the United States. The United States did not face balancing because of
America s reputation of being a team player in the world stage. Per Pape that reputation no longer
exists. As a matter of a fact, Pape believes that soft balancing is currently in the works and as an
evidence for his hypothesis, he mentioned the Iraq war and the resistance of some of our supposedly
staunchest allies such as France to essentially not go along with the United States plan at least initially.
There is a very legitimate fear that unless the United States changes its unilateralism, soft balancing
will continue to occur. (Pape, 2005)
Stephen M. Walt believes that although the United States is still strong, our influence over the world
has declined. Mr. Walt predicted China will be the largest economy by 2025. One could argue this has
already happened in terms of GDP. Countries such as India, Turkey, and Brazil are not yet ready to
challenge the United States economically, but, within their own geographical region, they are
becoming regional powers. Mr. Walt conceded that the United States will still be the most powerful
country in the world, but the world will be a bipolar system, adding China as the other superpower in
addition to the United States or perhaps the world will become a multipolar system with an

How would you like to spend 20 to 30 minutes every day building one new relationship a day that will
double, perhaps even triple your income?
I m going to toss a new wrinkle into the relationship building game. I want you to think about two
words could have dramatic affect on your life and your income.
Those two words are on purpose.
What do you think might happen if you started creating new relationships on purpose? And what if
you attached an immediate dollar amount value to each of those new relationships?
That s what I did several years ago and my results have been nothing short of amazing. I know it
might sound cold and calculating to think like this, but bear with me.
It all started one evening as I was doing an Internet business seminar for a local S.C.O.R.E. chapter. I
was talking about how to increase the value of email in your business. I looked down and, by chance,

In the past, physicians and healthcare organizations have been slow to embrace the advantages of
using information technology but this is gradually changing. In the July 2012 National Center for

Nursing accounts for approximately 75% of the use of the chart and this clinical documentation is the
method used to communicate the patient s treatment plan and progress (Nelson, 2010). Since nurses
perform a large part of this documentation, they are vital to evaluate these templates to ensure the
system will allow the documentation required and that it is presented in a useful manner. They also
will be key players in assisting with the integration of the EHR into the clinical workflow for the
physician. The nurse is the most knowledgeable in the clinical workflows and inefficiencies in the
current workflow. He or she will be acutely aware the functionality or limitations of the system and its
ability to accommodate the practice patterns of the providers and the various workflows. Physicians
rely on the information they need to be in the chart when they need it and often are unaware of the
steps involved to get it there. This is where the nurse is invaluable in identifying all of the background
tasks required to achieve this. Lastly, obtaining nurse buy in is vital to facilitating clinicians to become
engaged in the process. When they have little input in the selection process and are forced to use it,
they are more resistant and negative about the change. Attitude is everything and by involving them in

Negative Consequences of Sterotyping
If someone was to describe a person as tall and athletic, you could assume that person to be either
male or female. If added to that description was that they liked to dance and wore tight clothing, one
might lean more to the thought of the person being a female. If still nothing was said about their
gender, but it was also stated that the person was wearing a tight pair of shorts and a hot pink crop top
shirt that exposed their stomach, almost everyone would assume a female was being described.
However, if you were to drive down Archer, or 13th street in Gainesville Florida at the right time you
would possibly have to do a double take at the person performing on the side of the road. All of the

Of course, not all rich people are cold and not all poor people have big hearts, which is the case with
all stereotypes, not everyone actually falls into the group you may categorize them into. It is thought
that stereotypes are a set of group beliefs and that frequently those who socialize together tend to share
the same set of stereotypes. Stereotypes can serve as a cognitive function on an interpersonal level, as
well as a social function on an intergroup level. For stereotyping to work in an intergroup situation an
individual must see themselves as part of a group and being a part of the group must be important to
that individual. Craig McGarty, Russell Spears, and Vincent Y. Yzerbyt (2002) argued that the
cognitive functions of stereotyping are best understood in relation to its social functions, and vice
versa.
The next question to ask ourselves is, why do stereotypes form? If how stereotypes form stems either
from being a learned behavior or as a way for us to group information, why do they persist even when
we know better? Research has shown that stereotypes can develop based on a cognitive mechanism
known as illusory correlation, which is an erroneous inference about the relationship between two
events. If two events that are statistically infrequent occur at the same time observers will
overestimate the frequency at which these events occur together. Events

Informative Speech On Cholelera

Have you ever heard of rice water stool? Have you ever pooped so much that you could feed the
whole population of poop eating bacteria. If so, then you have probably had or heard of cholera.
Cholera is a bacteria that affects the small intestine. It is most common in third world countries due to
lack of clean drinking water. Cholera (also known as Vibrio Cholerae) spread across the world from its
original reservoir in the Ganges Delta in India during the 19th century. Six following pandemics killed
millions of people across all of the continents. Cholera comes from contaminated sources of water.
You can get cholera from unclean produce washed in unclean water, food vendors, and fish or seafood
. The most common places for cholera, are third world countries due to corrupt governments they are
not able to afford clean water systems. This is a problem because there are an estimated 3.4 million
cases and 100,000 annual deaths per year. This is because Africa, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic
are among the most common places for the bacteria. This is because they are all near unclean warm

archetype is covered a few times in the movie, Never Cry Wolf. Beginning with the Inuit Myth, this is

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fundamentally, there are two ways of creating this general image. One is to describe the general appearance of the device; the other is to compare it with something that is familiar to the reader. You must be careful, of course, not to compare an unfamiliar thing with another unfamiliar thing. Reference to the Score Keeper again suggests how illuminating a good analogy can be: To this comparison might be added some such direct description as the following: It consists of a mechanism enclosed in a rectangular metal case 1 5/16 in. long (3.3 cm), 7/8 in wide (2.2cm), and ¼ in. thick (0.6 cm) to which is attached a leather wristband. Size and shape are often the conspicuous characteristics of a mechanism. Organization of the Description It is possible to divide almost every mechanism into parts. Such division is an essential part of a detailed description. In the introduction to a description, a statement of the principal parts into which the mechanism can be divided serves two purposes: the first is that it is an additional way, and an important one, of giving the reader a general understanding of what the mechanism is. The second purpose is to describe the principal parts one at a time, a list of principal parts in the order in which you wish to discuss them is a clear indication of the organization of the remainder of the description. • 3. Cost Accouting Systems for John Deere Component Works Management Consultants Report Executive Summary John Deere Component Works (JDCW) has been subject to a number of unsuccessful competitive bids due to the inherent deficiencies of their existing costing system. This has illustrated the importance of obtaining a thorough understanding of costs, and desirability of implementing a superior costing system. This report contains: * A general overview of the problems confronted by JDCW * An analysis of the current standard costing system * An exposition of Activity Based Costing (ABC) * An evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of each system * Recommendations Company Background Deere amp; Company is an iconic American corporation, renowned for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following this revelation, management attention was directed to the current costing system. Traditional Costing System JDCW employed a traditional standard costing system throughout its operations. This form of costing permeated the industrial era, which was categorised by low overhead costs and the production of a limited variety of goods. Standard costing involves allocating overheads to cost objects using volume based cost drivers, such as machine or labour hours. Albeit easy to implement and understand, this system frequently results in over costing and under costing. JDCW priced their products based on full costs, which included all direct material, labour, overhead and period overhead, using standard costing. Whilst this practice was satisfactory for internal transactions, the inefficiencies were emphasised when JDCW sought to bid for parts against external suppliers. Number of machine hours, direct labour hours and material dollars were used as overhead allocation rates. By restricting the overhead rates to the aforementioned volume based activities, several problems eventuated. The Industrial Engineering department used pre established standard hours for direct labour runtime. Using standard hours produced costing discrepancies, especially because no emphasis was placed on direct materials, overhead and period overhead costs. This was an insufficient method to compare actual and standard percentages.

Researchers indicate that it is easier to expect the occurrence of corporal punishment than it is to expect rate of use. In 1988, A National Opinion Research Center Survey found that 80% of Americans either agreed or strongly agreed that it is sometimes necessary to discipline a child with a good, hard spanking Flynn (1944). Consistently, a massive number of students are subject to corporal punishment in state subsidized schools. • 6. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Two Spains What exactly does Las Dos Españas refer to? Las Dos Españas or the two Spains refers to the long term hostility existing in Spain between the conservative and liberal political parties in Spain. The conservative party is the more close minded Spaniards while the liberal party is more open minded Spaniards. Spain is split roughly 50:50 between the two parties. The split is one of the most critical aspects in the Spanish history. If one does not know about the Two Spains, one does not know the full history of Spain. One of the main strengths is when both groups agree on the same ideas. But periodically the Two Spains lose their patience and begin to challenge each other. The phrase Two Spains originated in a short poem written by a Spanish poet Antonio Machado. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Romans were in Spain for six hundred years, which dates back to 205 BC to 410 AD. Fernando and Isabel then continued with the Conservative Party in 1492. The inquisition of Jews was established in 1480 but the expulsion of Jews did not occur until Fernando and Isabel s reign over Spain. Under the reign of Fernando and Isabel, all Jews were ordered to leave Spain; they were allowed to dispose of their property but were not able to take any silver or gold out of the country. The Conservative Party was a strictly Catholic party thus the expulsion of the Jews proves that religion was used as a weapon during that time. The Conservatives appointed a strong central authority someone who would be a voice of the party. Class And Gender Analysis Class and Gender can Change a lot of Things Many centuries prior to the nineteenth one there has been numerous indications of the severity in horrible treatment of women, men and children. As one would look into any decent history book, their would be pages on chapters of the treatment of the civilization in them. Depending on what century one was looking into determined the good or bad treatment. However some of the most documented treatment would have to be in the nineteenth century. Thus far in the semester we have discussed numerous cases of men, women and children being treated with little to no fairness within the Northern Hemisphere. Women are also held to the responsibilities of the children to ensure them getting ready on time, and are respectable in a group seating. Women are still paid less than men. Men are still recognized as the breadwinners. Also, class plays a huge outcome in the stance of where you live, how hard you work, and if you are educated or not. • 8. A Study On Annan Academy s Geography Class Carlisle is the only city in Cumbria, automatically making it the administrative centre of the county. Other than administration, Carlisle has several other areas in which its activities are focused, such as tourism, shopping, and education. These areas are known as settlement functions. Functions tend to change and develop as a city grows over the years. Carlisle is a successful city, but whether or not this is due to its changing functions is debatable. Annan Academy s Geography class went to Carlisle in September 2015 to obtain primary research data of the city s geographical issues. Method 1 In order to figure out some of the current main functions of Carlisle, the first research method used for this report was two RICEPOTS surveys of different areas in Carlisle the CBD (the square near the Tourist Information Centre) and the area from West Tower Street to Corporation Road. These areas were chosen to display a contrast in the land usage of two areas of Carlisle which are close together. The RICEPOTS surveys were completed by walking around the areas and annotating a map with the purpose of each building in the area. Once both maps were annotated, the information was put into a table before being compiled into a comparative bar graph (see: Graph 1). The results show that West Tower Street to Corporation Road is largely residential, with 35 terraced houses, and that the square near the Tourist Information Centre is largely commercial with 47 specialist shops ... As soon as one man realized that it was useful for a single individual to have provisions for two, equality disappeared, property came into existence, labor became necessary demonstrates that men will subjugate and deprive others in order to act in self interest (74). Once the strong came to understand the pleasure of accumulating more than is necessary for survival, they thought of nothing but the subjugation and enslavement of their neighbors, like those ravenous wolves that on having once tasted human flesh, reject all other food and desire to devour only men (78). Because force is always illegitimate, property maintained through force is always illegitimate as well. The illegitimacy of force is demonstrated by Rousseau s stinging condemnation of the sultan who rules through force. The sultan s rule is illegitimate, but those who overthrow the sultan with force are equally illegitimate. Rousseau explains that the uprising that ends in the strangulation or the dethronement of the sultan is as lawful an act as those by which he disposed of the lives and goods of his subjects the day before. Force alone maintained him, force alone brings him down (90). Property can only be seized through force, which is always illegitimate, regardless of the current proprietor s illegitimate claim to the land. In both Marx s depiction of society and Rousseau s, humans have developed through a succession of stages to act in self interest, oppressing other humans for the sake of material gain. They agree that property is a human construction created by the strong to solidify social status and sustained through illegitimate legal and economic systems. For both philosophers, illegitimate property leads to labor becoming deeply dehumanizing. The craving to own illegitimate property comes from human greed, appetites, and socialization. On the surface, Marx and Engel s theory is compatible with Rousseau s. The philosophies, however, have many significant differences. Rousseau ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The poems Before you were mine by Carol Anne Duffy and Mother any distance greater than a single span by Simon Armitage, reflect on what it means to raise a child in the world. In before you were mine , Anne Duffy shows how things change when you have child where as in mother any distance greater than a single span Simon Armitage shows how hard it is to let go of your child. Duffy and Armitage represent different parent child relationships. Ann Duffy s poem is about a relationship between a mother and daughter. In Before you were mine , Duffy perceives her mother when she was young and how things have changed since she had her child. The poet has a feeling of regret and thinks its her fault that her mother lost some of her energy and being that bold girl winking in Portobello . Duffy wishes her mother still lived a fun life even after she was born. Whereas in Simon Armitage s poem, the mother struggle to let go of the son. Armitage writes that his mother s fingertips still pinch the pinch meaning she cannot bear to let her son go which creates tension because the son doesn t feel the same way. The poets are able to show how different kinds of parent child relationships can reflect on how they feel about one another in the world. The relationship between the Soviet Union and the United States was directed by ideological, political and technological factors. The rivalry between the two powers rooted from their contrasting ideological principles since the United States was a democratic republic where the people believed that every citizen had equal representation in the government and the Soviet Union was a communist nation. Students can learn in any type of environment; class size does not matter when it comes to a students learning ability. Learning is not about where the knowledge is learned, it is about how it is learned and if a student is willing to learn it. Some might also oppose that colleges should not make students take liberal arts classes. Liberal arts classes do not always help a student develop better learning skills. Some liberal arts classes are not even relevant to a students major. Having to take classes that are not relevant to a student can be overwhelming and frustrating for them. It is too expensive for them to have to pay for classes that are not relevant to their major. Students should be able to choose what classes they want to enroll in and how they want to do it. We can see that social class plays big part of people s life. Everyday people are working, studying, trying to be better. Even though right now it s time when everyone has many opportunities in his life, anyway there is a gap between classes and groups of people with same features. And your background probably will build your future. And we need to find what kind of class we have right now and look into these classes. The main idea is that Social Classes still exist and it s most general part of U.S.A society. There are three reasons why gap between groups still exist. The first reason is that everyone has different economic status. People divide by groups with same ideas, religion, economic status, political views, and cultural features. For example in U.S.A we have poor people, very rich people, and kind of middle people and we can t say that these families are same. People from each group have different opportunities in education, medicine, and job. The Army s senior leaders are either oblivious to the decline or only care about the popular issues such as sexual harassment or hazing. Today s junior leaders are either incompetent, feel their hands are tied, or simply do not get the backing from their senior leaders in order to effectively make changes. Our senior leaders blame their junior leaders, and our junior leaders blame their senior leaders. The fact of the matter is that all leaders, from the Chief of Staff of the Army to newest Corporal that was recently promoted this month, have to lead. 1 Introduction 19 August 2003. That was the date on which I joined the military. That was also the year the United States invaded Iraq. I, like many, joined the military to serve my country. I remember arriving at basic training and I felt that I was prepared for the training and punishment I was going to receive. After all, I had watched war movies such as Major Payne, Full Metal Jacket, and Forrest Gump. I honestly believed I would be cleaning floors with a toothbrush, living in an open hut with fifty other soldiers, and being yelled at constantly. What I experienced in my opinion, was an easy basic training. Do what you re told and be where you needed to be and you would be fine. After basic training, I remember arriving to my unit and standing at parade rest for Specialists and above. I remember doing what I was told, no questions asked. I remember ... Bush s unilateral action in several fronts for making it possible for other nations to balance the United States. The United States did not face balancing because of America s reputation of being a team player in the world stage. Per Pape that reputation no longer exists. As a matter of a fact, Pape believes that soft balancing is currently in the works and as an evidence for his hypothesis, he mentioned the Iraq war and the resistance of some of our supposedly staunchest allies such as France to essentially not go along with the United States plan at least initially. There is a very legitimate fear that unless the United States changes its unilateralism, soft balancing will continue to occur. (Pape, 2005) Stephen M. Walt believes that although the United States is still strong, our influence over the world has declined. Mr. Walt predicted China will be the largest economy by 2025. One could argue this has already happened in terms of GDP. Countries such as India, Turkey, and Brazil are not yet ready to challenge the United States economically, but, within their own geographical region, they are becoming regional powers. Mr. Walt conceded that the United States will still be the most powerful country in the world, but the world will be a bipolar system, adding China as the other superpower in addition to the United States or perhaps the world will become a multipolar system with an ... What do you think might happen if you started creating new relationships on purpose? And what if you attached an immediate dollar amount value to each of those new relationships? Since nurses perform a large part of this documentation, they are vital to evaluate these templates to ensure the system will allow the documentation required and that it is presented in a useful manner. They also will be key players in assisting with the integration of the EHR into the clinical workflow for the physician. The nurse is the most knowledgeable in the clinical workflows and inefficiencies in the current workflow. He or she will be acutely aware the functionality or limitations of the system and its ability to accommodate the practice patterns of the providers and the various workflows. Physicians rely on the information they need to be in the chart when they need it and often are unaware of the steps involved to get it there. If still nothing was said about their gender, but it was also stated that the person was wearing a tight pair of shorts and a hot pink crop top shirt that exposed their stomach, almost everyone would assume a female was being described. Of course, not all rich people are cold and not all poor people have big hearts, which is the case with all stereotypes, not everyone actually falls into the group you may categorize them into. It is thought that stereotypes are a set of group beliefs and that frequently those who socialize together tend to share the same set of stereotypes. Stereotypes can serve as a cognitive function on an interpersonal level, as well as a social function on an intergroup level. For stereotyping to work in an intergroup situation an individual must see themselves as part of a group and being a part of the group must be important to that individual. Craig McGarty, Russell Spears, and Vincent Y. Yzerbyt (2002) argued that the cognitive functions of stereotyping are best understood in relation to its social functions, and vice versa. The next question to ask ourselves is, why do stereotypes form? If how stereotypes form stems either from being a learned behavior or as a way for us to group information, why do they persist even when we know better? Research has shown that stereotypes can develop based on a cognitive mechanism known as illusory correlation, which is an erroneous inference about the relationship between two events. If two events that are statistically infrequent occur at the same time observers will overestimate the frequency at which these events occur together. Events ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Have you ever pooped so much that you could feed the whole population of poop eating bacteria. If so, then you have probably had or heard of cholera. Cholera is a bacteria that affects the small intestine. It is most common in third world countries due to lack of clean drinking water. Cholera (also known as Vibrio Cholerae) spread across the world from its original reservoir in the Ganges Delta in India during the 19th century. Six following pandemics killed millions of people across all of the continents. Cholera comes from contaminated sources of water. You can get cholera from unclean produce washed in unclean water, food vendors, and fish or seafood . The most common places for cholera, are third world countries due to corrupt governments they are not able to afford clean water systems. This is a problem because there are an estimated 3.4 million cases and 100,000 annual deaths per year. This is because Africa, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic are among the most common places for the bacteria. This is because they are all near unclean warm sources of water. Beginning with the Inuit Myth, this is shown in the movie, as Tyler finds out when he sees for himself that the pack makes unsuccessful attacks on the caribou, so he tries to make the caribou go towards the wolves, and they eventually make a catch, but upon examination by Tyler, the caribou is weak and diseased, showing that the wolves only kill and eat the weak caribou, and the strong caribou stay strong.
