The Epic Deception
The Epic Deception This September will mark the 13 year anniversary of the modern day Pearl
Harbor also known as 9/11. In these thirteen years our world has changed immensely. Our government
went from being the proponents of democracy to seldom acting like tyrannical warlords. The Patriot
Act suspended due process for anyone deemed an enemy combatant . Defense contractors were given
the biggest contract in American history. As a nation, we went to two different wars and almost
destroyed the world s economy. All of this occurred to ensure our safety as citizens of this once great
nation. But are we truly safer from terrorist attacks today than we were in 2001? There was a poll that
appeared around the five year anniversary of 9/11 that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the report was very lengthy and comprehensive there were still a lot of facts that were
embellished. Other facts such as the fate of W. Trade Tower 7 were completely omitted from the
report. There was no thorough investigation into why the buildings collapsed when they were
reinforced to withstand the impact of a 747. Why would the people charged with investigating what
occurred on this dreadful day not tell the whole story? To answer this question we need to understand
who stood to benefit from an attack on American soil. Was it Al Qaeda or the Taliban whose homes
were bombed and who lost control of their very lucrative poppy fields? Or was it the defense
contractors who stood to make billions if not trillions from the war that would come? As John Farmer,
senior counsel to the 9/11 Commission and now dean of Rutgers Law School, said that at the
beginning of the investigation, the commission discovered that what had occurred that morning that is,
what government and military officials had told Congress, the Commission, the media, and the public
about who knew what when was almost entirely, and inexplicably, untrue.....At some level of the
government, at some point in time ... there was a decision not to tell the truth about what happened
(Ridgeway). There is no need to look for crazy conspiracy theories because the conspiracy is right in
front of our eyes, and the people responsible are

Generalized Anxiety Disorder ( Cbt )
Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Different Styles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Tornike Rakviashvili
University of Maryland Baltimore Co.
The purpose of this paper is to examine different ways of using CBT in treating anxiety disorder.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most used approach in treating anxiety and
depression. There are different styles of CBT that are used to treat different subtypes of anxieties.
However, the main focus of this paper will be about incorporating different intervention programs to
CBT to treat Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
According to DSM V, anxiety disorders include disorders that share features of excessive fear and
anxiety and related behavioral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, it is important to carefully follow diagnostic features provided in DSM V for each type
of anxiety disorder in order to avoid misdiagnose. In the United States, 18.1% of the adult population
suffers from different anxiety disorders, and lifetime prevalence of GAD is among 5.7% of those
adults (Kessler, 2005).
The main feature of (GAD) is characterized by excessive anxiety and worry (apprehensive
expectation) about a number of events or activities (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
Individuals, who are diagnosed with GAD, often have worrisome thoughts that are hard to control
which inhibits them from concentrating on everyday tasks. To distinguish GAD from nonpathological
anxiety, it is important to keep in mind several features. The worries associated with GAD are
excessive and problematic for psychical functioning, more pervasive, pronounced and distressing, and
are accompanied by physical symptoms (e.g., restlessness) (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
It is important to note that symptoms of GAD can be misunderstood for different reasons. Risk and
prognostic factors can be temperamental, environmental, and genetic and physiological, additionally,
cultural factors in the expression of GAD also need to be considered. Given the information above
about GAD, it can be concluded that it is important to have treatment for such disorder in order to help
individuals have

Ancient India Research Paper
Ancient India and China are both impоrtant and interesting ancient civilizations. They are аlike and
unlike in mаny ways. Some impоrtant ways in which ancient India and China аre similar and different
are art, religion, politics, econоmics, and social structure.
Ancient India and ancient China both cоnsider religion to be very importаnt. The central religions of
China were Taoism, Legalism, and Cоnfucianism. The main religions in India wеre Buddhism and
Hinduism. Both Ancient China аnd India had religious teachers thаt invented these predominant
religiоns. Lao Tzu invented Taoism, Hsun Tzu invented Legalism, and Cоnfucius invented
Confucianism in China. In India, Hinduism hаd its rоots in the religious beliefs of the Aryan people
thаt invaded India around 1500 B.C. Buddhism was invented in the 6th century B.C. by Siddhartha
Gautama. India and China believed in supernatural forces. For example, they believed that
supernatural forces controlled the weather and the plenty of crops grown that season. In addition, both
ancient civilizations created art devoted to their corresponding religions. ... Show more content on

China and India both developed progressive written languages. India invented Sanskrit arоund 1000
B.C. This invention allowed them to write down legends and religious songs and rituals. These
writings are knоwn as the Vedas. The Chinese written language was one of the most important cultural
contributions. This written language was first of all ideographic and pictographic in form. Both India
and China created religious art. India had three types of religious structures such as: the stupa, the
pillar, and the rock chamber. The Chinese did papermaking and formed bronze objects that were
placed in crypts to follow the dead into the life after death. Music was very important to China. The

The Importance Of Pay For Performance Program Essay
Introduction The report investigates the significance of pay for performance program. A review of
existing literature on the subject matter will be done in view of providing an explanation on the
subject. The focus will be on theoretical frameworks that explore the issue of labor force performance
in relation to pay and incentives. The hypothesis guiding this investigation is that 1) better pay
improves performance, 2) better pay reduces the rate of turnover, 3) that a good incentive and reward
system improves worker s motivation and loyalty to the company , and 4) pay could take any form or
be substituted for leisure, less work hours or rewards. The findings will be used to analyze various
companies in Singapore, while at the same time showcasing the value of the concepts discussed and
possible problems that could arise. The final section will conclude with recommendations to improve
labor supply through good pay. Section AA1. Fair Work Commission Background The Fair Work
Commission (FWC), formerly known as Fair Work Australia, was established as an outcome of the
Fair Work Act of 2009 in the same year (FWC 2016). The FWC was formed as a tribunal and assumed
the responsibilities of other similar organizations, namely the Australian Industrial Relations
Commission and the Australian Industrial Registry both of which were constituted in early twentieth
century, as well as the Australian Fair Pay Commission which was established in 2005 (FWC 2016).

Dear Mom And Dad,. I Completely Understand Why You Are
Dear Mom and Dad, I completely understand why you are concerned about my use of marijuana not
only for the well being of this family but also for my own health and future. I definitely understand
your concerns, but you need to understand that you grew up in a completely different generation than
me. Marijuana use is very common now days not only in The United States but all around the world.
Many people who you interact with every day have at one point in their lives or even currently smoke
marijuana, yet they are still able support their families, have a steady job, and even in my situation get
a good education. One of the reasons you haven t realized this is because there are no long term effects
and while on the drug most people are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now I understand that the two of you believe that marijuana is a gateway drug but I have done
excessive research and I can assure you that it is in in no shape or form a gateway drug . The gateway
theory argues that because heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine users often used marijuana before
graduating to harder drugs, it must be a gateway to harder drug use. The theory implies that there is a
causal mechanism that biologically sensitizes drug users, making them more willing to try and more
desirous of harder drugs. Yet the gateway hypothesis doesn t make sense to those who use marijuana
or have used in the past. Research shows that the vast majority of marijuana users do not go on to use
hard drugs. Many users compare their daily cannabis habit with dependency on caffeine. The UK
Department of Health say Cannabis is a weakly addictive drug but does induce dependence in a
significant minority of heavy users. If you are a regular cannabis smoker (every day) and you stop
smoking, you will experience some of the following withdrawal symptoms: restlessness, irritability,
mild agitation, insomnia, nausea, sleep disturbance, sweats, and intense dreams. These symptoms,
however, are mild and short lived, lasting 2 to 4 days. With such negligible withdrawal symptoms, it is
not surprising that quitting marijuana is so easy, especially for someone with very strong will power,
such as myself.

Comparing The Yellow Wallpaper And A Pair Of Silk Stockings
The stories A Pair of Silk Stockings , The Story of an Hour and The Yellow Wallpaper are similar in
multiple ways although they also contrast from each other. All three stories were published in the 1890
s and all shared a similar theme which was related to the time period. Comparing and contrasting the
stories maintain and vary from each other on components such as the theme, setting, and main
characters which will be scrutinized in the following. The story A Pair of Silk Stockings consists of
the Mrs. Sommers, the main character, receives fifteen dollars and decides to go spend the money on
clothing for her children. Before beginning to shop , Mrs. Sommers sees some silk stockings and is
intrigued by them. She buys the stockings instead of buying the clothes for her children. Mrs.
Sommers then continues to shop for herself as she goes to the shoe store to a buy a pair of boots, eats
at a nice restaurant leaving a tip, and then proceeds to go to a theater and watch a play. After her
expensive expedition, Mrs. Sommers she returns home on an expensive train. ... Show more content

This study replicates US based research by Hartman and Lindgren on the extent to which consumers
differentiate between products and services. In addition, Hartman and Lindgren investigated the
importance of four characteristics of services to consumers; intangibility, inseparability, heterogeneity
and perishability. Hartman and Lindgren did not find that these four service characteristics were used
by consumers when distinguishing between goods and services. We find that 1) ... Show more content

identified two dominant dimensions of the body of work: whether the study was empirical or
conceptual, and whether the characteristics of services constituted the main element or a secondary
element of the study. The most extreme studies on each dimension were used as end points and
provided a reference for the other studies. Studies in the left hand quadrants provided a thorough
review of two or more characteristics, whereas studies positioned in the right hand quadrant provided
a more superficial coverage of product/service characteristics and then concentrated on another aspect
of services marketing. Figure 1 demonstrates that the approach taken to research in this area so far has
been mainly conceptual rather than empirical. We have identified only one study (Hartman and

Single Mothers Are Not The Problem By Ryan M.
Society, as a whole, tends to look at the world with a set of judgmental eyes. Sometimes, this
judgement is blatantly obvious. Other times, it is not. However, it is always there, hidden in the way
we live our lives. This is because over time society has managed to ingrain into us an almost utopian
set of ideals, meant to force us into a state of normality ideals that we, as humans, are expected to
follow. If we conform to these standards then we pass the test and are considered normal. On the other
hand, if we deviate from those standards, we fail and are considered deviant. Concepts such as gender
socialization, cultural norms, stereotypes, and social status are all used by society to assess our level of
deviance. If found to be deviant, society seeks to isolate the abnormality from the normal population
in an effort to prevent further corruption. Thus, the notion of stigma is born. ... Show more content on

However, they are not always just. One such stigma within the United States is that of being a single
mother. Nevertheless, in an article called Single Mothers Are Not the Problem by David Brady, Ryan
M. Finnigan, and Sabine Hübgen of The New York Times, this stigma is challenged (2018). This
article, which disputes the popular belief that single mothers are a major cause of poverty rates in the
United States, also brings to mind the overall social class system in the country, a subject that is
thoroughly discussed in chapter eight of the text, Essentials of Sociology: A Down to Earth Approach

As stated before I was blown away to see the talent here, I had no idea. However, I am not sure if it
was the room or the speakers, but everything seemed a little too loud. I have a hard time hearing, I am
a bit deaf in my left ear, but I sure could here what was being played that night. So much so that it
made my eyes squint a little. Especially, when the band was in full swing and really feeling the music.
Like I said it didn t sound bad it was just loud and I was even sitting towards the back of the room. So
I could only imagine how blown away literally the front row was. The set itself was simple and to the
point. It was held at the Musco Technology Center also known as the MTC. The room was for a more
intimate audience you could see by looking around that people were having a good time. For the most
part it looked like it mostly brought out an older crowd as do most production in this town. I don t
understand why more people from my generation don t go out and experience these type of things.
However, I liked that it had high ceilings and the room seemed pretty filled. I personally think that the
lights should have been dimed, it would have added to the mood of the whole

s Characters In Interpreter Of Maladies By Jhumpa Lahiri
Since a young Indian writer Jhumpa Lahiri released her first book Interpreter of Maladies, the author
and her book s characters have attracted a lot of attention. The nine stories of the Interpreter of
Maladies are filled with details of Indian culture which help the author to present the life of Indians
living in America in a new sophisticated manner and assist Lahiri in her attempt to reveal earlier
unfamiliar to many people aspects of the everyday lives of the Indian immigrants. In the story Sexy
we see Dev, a first generation Indian American who has a family, but in spite of that fact initiates an

thinking about you, he d say on the tape. I can t wait to see you. Miranda is as a fresh breeze from a
distant sea where Dev has never been before, and everything related to her is a change, and this is
what he is looking for. Unlike his wife, Miranda has no idea about his culture and his country, and that
is also unusual to him. While Dev s wife is away, he is curious and thrilled about his secret
relationship just like a little kid would get excited about a new toy. Dev and Miranda are both exotic to
each other: she admires his unique culture and she is the opposite of his wife for him (pale skin, silver
eyes and longest legs he has ever seen: You are the first, he told her, admiring her from the bed. The
first woman I ve known with legs this long. ). However, once Dev s wife returns from India he can not
spend as much time with Miranda as he would like. His behavior leaves Miranda no doubt as to what
he really wanted from her passion and adventure outside of his marriage. He was concerned about
nothing else.
The obstacle to their relationship continuing is Dev s attitude towards his secret relationship with
Miranda. From the very beginning of his involvement with Miranda

What is dilemma? Basically dilemma is a situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between
two or more alternatives, especially equally undesirable ones. In this case, Malay Dilemma and
Malaysia Dilemma is to be compared
Malaysia is one of the great international success stories of the past generation. Back then, Malaysia
lagged behind Haiti in per capita income but since then it has grown an average of 7 percent annually
and would rank third in per capita wealth in the Western Hemisphere. In any standard, the growth is

is. The concept functions in fact as an umbrella for different alternative views, suggesting that these go

70.
There are a few reasons why this view struggles to adequately explain the prophecy of the seventy
weeks. The actual time span of the week varies between the time periods. If God was trying to reveal
anything to Daniel about when these things would take place than a good assumption would be that
the weeks would be similar in scope of time. Another issue that would have to be addressed by
proponents of this view is how the first advent of Christ solves everything that is to take place in verse
24 of Daniel 9. The last thing that needs to be answered is why does the destruction of Jerusalem take
place before the sixty nine weeks if it is clearly lined out in the prophecy to be after the sixty nine
weeks? (verse 26)
The Covenantal View
The covenantal view is a view that also holds that the time periods are symbolic. This view also
begins at the decree given by Cyrus in Ezra 1 after the 70 year captivity around 538 B.C. It has sixty
nine weeks from that date leading up to the death of Christ around 33 A.D. at which point the
seventieth week kicks off and continues until the apocalypse. This view has serious issues with the
periods of time not being equal. The last week for instance has lasted for the previous 2000 years and
is continuing through the present time. The sixty nine weeks from the decree of Cyrus to the death of
Christ equal about eight years per week. The strength of this view is that it is trying to

Qualities Of Modern Architecture
Modern architecture was produced during a period of transformation broadly categorized as
modernity. Modernity should not be equipped with the social, political, economic, and technological
transformation which began in the seventeenth century and continued well into the twentieth century.
Rather, it must be understood at the attitudes towards whose changes. Modernity has been variously
described as: a slow transformation and re evaluation of our relationship with the past; a complete
break from the past; a celebration of the chaos brought about by technological changes in industry,
transportation and communication; a loss of tradition and home; a project of modernization and
progress towards a better world; and a permanent state of transformation and change. Modern
architecture is defined as a term used to describe simplified and unornamented building styles of the
late 19th and 20th century, as a reaction towards the design of excesses to the design excesses of the
Victorian and Edwardian period. Qualities of this style consist of being inspired by the machine
aesthetics. In other words letting the materials and structuring help determine the form and define the
building according to its functional requirements and materials to be used. Clean and simplified forms
were preferred and all unnecessary details were banished. An example of modern architecture can be
explained and seen by Zaha Hadid s Vitra Fire Station built in 1990. Constructed as a closure at the

Tale of Two Front Pages, by Stanely Fish that was about two magazines that communicated a story in
very different ways, I have concluded that I agree with the assessment of the articles. In addition, I
covered the two different ways that an argument, like the one that Fish brought can be handled when
they arise. And finally, what stuck out most to me about Stephen Carter s Integrity.
Stanley Fish s opinion portrayed though A Tale of Two Front Pages, could not be more truthful. When
Fish makes the comment of ... if we put all the accounts offered by the media together, we would get
something like the true story (Fish). Readers believe what is written by journalist, song and book
writers are base off of fact. Most people write based on fact, but twist it and use it in a way to persuade
the reader of what they want them to believe. Often times, this shifts the entire story from one focus
point to another, like the two covers talked about in A Tale of Two Front Pages. With the shift in
stories it can frequently create a story/cover that is disinhibiting. This means that the story/cover may
be less restrained and more spontaneous but also impersonal, abrupt, and often offensive (Rothwell
10). When analyzing the articles that Fish compared, the one written in the Daily News

A Separate Peace, by John Knowles Essay
People frequently betray others because of the evil in their hearts. In A Separate Peace, John Knowles
uses the pureness of the rakish Finny to portray the savage or bad side of the vulpine Gene. He also
uses it to prove that peace is exceedingly difficult to acquire until a person accepts the ignorance in
their own heart. That means that acceptance is the key to finding peace. Thus, Gene finds his peace
when Finny forgives him and when Gene learns to forgive himself as well. Gene assumes that Finny
and he despise each other, until he becomes aware of how flawless Finny really is, which Gene
loathes. Initially, Gene concludes that Finny wants to surpass him. He thinks that the both of them are
enemies yet Gene truckles under Finny. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even after everything Gene has done, Finny still acquits him before passing away. Finny avers that
Gene just does not know what does. Finny takes the guilt of Gene with him and removes his
ignorance. But, Gene must bear the darkness in him or he will perpetually be his own vile rival. When
Gene bounces the limb and causes the incident, he draws out the evil in his heart. By carrying out such
a crude act, Gene depletes his purity, as well as his envy. Finny, naturally, does not blame Gene and
strives to create verisimilitude . Gene tries to tell Finny about the accident and even tries to accuse
himself, but Finny refrains to listen. When Brinker questions Gene in the Butt Room, Gene
equivocates and attempts to bury his tracks with sarcasm. Gene guards his secret from himself, as well
as others. He, like most people, does not want to recognize the reality and wants to eschew it.
Ultimately, Gene acknowledges to himself what he has done and accepts that, there was always
something deadly lurking in anything I wanted, anything I loved. And if it wasn t then, for example
with Phineas, then I put it there myself (Knowles 101). Gene realizes the bad in his heart and it scares
him. He shows how a person can destroy and that person must remove sin in order to accomplish a
separate peace. Gene advances by gaining knowledge from Finny and matures from his experiences.

Jury System
The Jury System
CLU 3M1
By: Khalil Meghji
The jury system has been used for thousands of years to fairly determine innocence or guilt in a trial.
Although not utilized as much as in the past it is still used for most criminal and some civil cases. This
leads to an unjust legal system full of bias. The jury system was first seen in use by the ancient Greeks
thousands of years ago[1]. Though the system was the fairest way to produce a verdict, it cannot apply
today because society has endured a change which taints the foundation of a fair trial by jury. Juries
are much more open to tampering by interested parties through which can be undetected by the ...

This can alter the impact of evidence or testimony and the juror cannot make an informed decision.
The jury is not familiar with the law which can lead to confusion about different legal terms, what
evidence is considered circumstantial and how to exclude that from their decision after seeing it in
court. A jury comprised of the general public are also much more open to being influenced by how a
lawyer presents their case and not by evidence. Since the jury does not have any knowledge of
forensics they can be influenced by expert witnesses put on the stand by both the defense and the
prosecution which are completely contradictory.
The jury system has been used for thousands of years however, there are more logical and economical
methods to judge innocence or guilt fairly. While the jury system is not only taxing on the government
s resources it is also very difficult for the juror s. A juror in Canada is not compensated for trials under
10 days, if a trial runs from 11 49 days they get forty dollars a day, after 49 days the juror s receive
one hundred dollars per day[6]. To put a working citizen in the position of losing up to ten days pay to
serve in jury duty is very difficult. Being put into jury duty potentially carries other costs such as
childcare and transportation which is not covered by the government.
The jury system has been in use for thousands of years and has produced many fair verdicts. This

Superbowl Commercial Research Paper
During the Superbowl people usually enjoy the some what famous commercials. Some are very good
and others are not that good. This year s Superbowl contained both the good commercials and the not
so good commercials. The two Superbowl commercials that were very entertaining was the Skittles
commercial and the Febreze commercial. Both were very entertaining because they wanted to catch
the audience s eye on how funny they were plus to get people to buy their products. Both of these
commercials were very entertaining. But, which one was a better commercial? Skittles, a very tasty
and sweet kind of candy. During this commercial this person kept throwing a single skittle into people
s mouth one by one. It started out with on person then next thing you know there was another random
person. It was funny because the person throwing the skittles had their grandma in the line. After the
grandma there was a burglar then a cop who was trying to catch the burglar. Then it ended with skittle

did wait until halftime to use the restroom. Then it was followed by Febreze s slogan, Freshness where

Capital Punishment And The Death Penalty In The Criminal...

American Literature Block C
27 April 2017
Death penalty Capital punishment is the death penalty. It is used today and was used in ancient times
to punish a variety of offenses. Today, one of the most debated issues in the Criminal Justice System is
the issue of capital punishment or the death penalty. Capital punishment was legal until 1972, when
the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional in Furman v. Georgia stating that it violated the Eighth
and Fourteenth Amendments citing cruel and unusual punishment. In 1976, the Supreme Court
reversed itself with Gregg v. Georgia and reinstated the death penalty but not all states have the death
penalty. Since 1973, 140 people have been released from death ... Show more content on

The country has spent billions already on executions of around 120 a year. The extensive money we
spend on a practice that insufficient and hardly impacts society in a positive matter is the reasoning
why capital punishment should be abolished. It has done more harm than good in society, tearing this
country into two by having conflicting debates about the execution of a human. Time and money that
can be spent on the production of good in America. Capital punishment doesn t affect society in the
matter it is attended too and because of its inefficiency, the abolishment of capital punishment is a
resolution America should lead towards. Citizens should push for the highest capital punishment to be
lifetime in prison. It is a reliable alternative rather than killing a human s life, they can die of natural
age. It s human to keep them living until they die off naturally and doesn t condemn them to death. As
a nation, Americans should vote for candidates that oppose the death penalty and support them in

Compare the way love is presented in Sonnet 43 and Ghazal
Both poems, Sonnet 43 and Ghazal convey emotions and passionate feelings of love in different ways.
Sonnets and Ghazals are poem that are meant to express strong feelings of love. Khalvati and Barrett
Browning chose them to illustrate their loving feelings to their lovers. Barrett Browning does not
correctly carry out all the rules of Sonnets in her poem which gives an effect that she would do
anything for her lover and that there are no rules to their love, whereas Khalvati does not break any of
rules in Ghazal, this might, perhaps mean that her love is unrequited and that she would follow all the
rules to get the attention of the person she loves.

She says that she loves him to the depth and breadth and height, which indicated that her love is long
lasting. The image by sun and candlelight that Barrett Browning creates, is that her love may be
ordinary like the sun, but its continuous since the light keeps shining day and night, which is why she
uses the candlelight to represent the light she has for him is still on at night. Another image that
Barrett Browning conveys is I love thee freely, as men strive for Right, I love thee purely, as they turn
from Praise . This line shows that her love for him is of her own free choice and she compares it to the
nationalists that fight for their countries, indicating that their love is as strong as a person s love is to
their country. Barrett Browning also says, I love thee with the passion, put to use/In my old greifs...
and with my childhood s faith here, the poet redirected her emotions from her past concerns onto her
love. She states that her she loves him with her childhood s faith, which could mean that she loves him
with unquestioning confidence, just like a naïve child might.
Mimi Khalvati uses a wide range of words and phrases that are inspired by nature. If I am the grass

explain why Khalvati chose to use it to associate her love with. She also says, If I am the rose and you

Jack did not want to wait around for his money and suspected that Wang may have been trying to

they could reach Miao, she was kidnapped by members of a Chinese gang, The Lords of Death, and
Jack and Wang chase them from the airport in Jack s cab through the alleys of Chinatown.
They lose track of the kidnappers when they meet a Chinese funeral procession for the leader of the
Chang Sing which turns into an all out brawl between them and their rivals the Wing Kong. The brawl
is broken up by the arrival of the Three Storms, Thunder, Rain, and Lightning, who proceed to kill all
of the Chang Sing present. In Jack s efforts to get out of the alleys, he careens through a man who he
later learns is Lo Pan. This man temporarily blinds him with his glowing eyes, and while Jack is
incapacitated Wang pulls him out of the truck, which is stolen shortly after, and rushes him back to his
restaurant to meet with Gracie Law, Eddie Lee, and Egg Shen at Wang s restaurant.
Egg Shen apprises them of Lo Pan, how he is an ancient entity who is cursed, for he had committed
grievous crimes, with a dual nature; to having a nonphysical form that resembled himself as he was
and maintaining minimal powers, and having a corporeal form of an old man who could never die.

Reflection Paper On Fieldwork Experience
During:
During my fieldwork experience, I observed a particular grower that was in my group on my last day
of fieldwork. This was my first time meeting this grower so generally, I was unsure as to how things
would pan out between us. Prior to meeting this client, I was assuming that the client would generally
keep to himself and not interact with his peers or new people such as myself. However, to my surprise,
the client that I observed did in fact interact with his his peers and even interacted with myself.
Despite just meeting on my last day of fieldwork, I felt as though I knew this grower for a very long
time. The grower would interact with others by giving them a high fives, engaging in the variety of
tasks that we had throughout the day, and laughing when it was appropriate. The way that this
particular grower interacted with is peers definitely surprised me and was a different then what I had
expected.
The grower that I had the opportunity to interact with seemed to be diagnosed with severe autism. The
was demonstrated in many ways. The client rarely made eye contact with his peers and other
supervisors. In addition, the client lacked communication with his peers and his supervisors as well.
When he tried to communicate, he would in a way grunt towards you or he may have laughed if he
was enjoying himself. At times, the client would have an outburst of arm flapping that would last
about three to five seconds each. This only occurred about four times throughout the

Vietnam War Story Analysis
The paper focuses on the on the input side of the Vietnam War Memory in Tim O Brien s on how to
tell a true war story. Ideally, the performance of the war is a representation of an important part of the
human life as he tries to work through the traumas of life as well as the creative process during the
occurrence of the war. The main question that is raised by the story is how the writer uses the
memories of the war as the primary tools of the actualization. The other matter which is posed in the
story is how can one achieve the suspense that is based on the detachment as well as why is it
imperative for the author to the author of the story to do that in a war related piece of work. The story
by O Brien shows that this can happen by the use of the per formative side of the war through three
important episodes that are based on the Vietnam Conflict. There is the Rat Kiley s letter, which was
written to the sister who is known by the name Lemon and who was his war friend after the death of
lemon. Additionally, the narrator is telling the story of Lemons death as well as the story of Mitchell
Sanders as he does the analysis of the versions that the war had and the experiences of the victims of
the war. The characters in the war story do not deal with the favoritism that is attached to the emotions
as well as the failure of the memories of the war that echo the Nietzsche s point which is based on the
life after the war that needs one to have an avoidance on the wrong things

have had historical influence.
Beethoven was a composer during the 1700 s into the early 1800 s. He wrote many pieces, even as he
slowly became deaf. I would ask, Once a composer dies, he often becomes more famous. How does
that make you feel? Once Beethoven died, people started to discover his pieces and started
reproducing them, which led to more fame. Another would be, Are your works of music dedicated to
anyone? Beethoven never married, and works of art always have inspirations behind them. People also

tournament he enters. The third question would be, Many of your competitors are much older than
you, How does being young affect a golfer? Spieth s skill in golf could come from his youth and the
techniques he is able to use while he is still young. The fourth question is, Are you being mentored or
do you mentor? The best way to learn is from experienced people and then experience it yourself.
Spieth is a young golfer who has good game and how he changed the past and future.

Capital Punishment Vs Lethal Injections
While many people dislike Capital Punishment, they mainly base their opinions upon their own
personal morals. Crowds judge the death penalty without taking the myriad factors into account. There
are many arguments and politics surrounding the hotly debated topic, by those arguments go over the
general public s head, or it just becomes background noise that they tune out. Lethal Injections have
many problems, but the government isn t able to solve them without a clear cut plan. The cost of
Capital Punishment has the potential to reduce itself to almost nothing, and many jobs could be
created if the government could tweak the laws that are causing so many problems for us all today.

consequently gained strength in the medical field, but that left a void in the world of capital
punishment. Propofol would have been the perfect drug to use for executions, as it has a quick

Louis Riel, a controversial man who ponders around Canada s mind judgement today, some may call
him a traitor but for the most in fact he was a hero. He was one of the founding fathers that embraced
and shaped our country to what we are today and not only that, he was a fighter that stood up for what
he believed in and what he knew was best for the people because simply he cared about them.
Although, at times his reasons were faulty, his selfless acts were far more recognizable than his
prevailing mistakes that led him to execution in 1885 as he was judged guilty of alleged accusations of
an unfair court of whom did not favour him. As a leader of the Metis and the Red River territory,

Rice Paddies And Bologn Malcom Gladwell s Broad...
Rice Paddies and Bologna: Gladwell s Broad Generalizations of Success
In Malcom Gladwell s Outliers, Gladwell defines success as hidden advantages and social
predestination as stated by critic Michiko Kakutani. Kakutani argues that Gladwell s hypotheses are
not cohesive and are selective to support his idea. I concur with Kakutani. Gladwell does not provide
adequate examples and counterarguments to give his theory a concrete foundation. This creates a very
unconvincing argument. Gladwell asserts that success comes from factors and advantages that are
mostly overlooked such as birth dates and cultural backgrounds; however, his ideas are loosely based,
overly generalized, and unreliable.
Now, with technology advancing at the same rate as society matures and changes, success is a concept
that can be different to many different groups of people. Gladwell insists that success is formulated
through a series of hidden advantages and cultural legacies that are fixed, therefore that s why many
do not become successful. I simply do not feel that is the case. Success is achieved through ambition
and hard work that is instilled in you. Anyone has the power to take matters into their own hands and
create their own success.
Gladwell used many anecdotes and stories to push his hypotheses. An example would be the two
chapters titled The Trouble with Geniuses Part One and The Trouble With Geniuses Part Two . In
these chapters, Gladwell introduces Chris Langan, a man with an IQ higher

  • 2. The Epic Deception The Epic Deception This September will mark the 13 year anniversary of the modern day Pearl Harbor also known as 9/11. In these thirteen years our world has changed immensely. Our government went from being the proponents of democracy to seldom acting like tyrannical warlords. The Patriot Act suspended due process for anyone deemed an enemy combatant . Defense contractors were given the biggest contract in American history. As a nation, we went to two different wars and almost destroyed the world s economy. All of this occurred to ensure our safety as citizens of this once great nation. But are we truly safer from terrorist attacks today than we were in 2001? There was a poll that appeared around the five year anniversary of 9/11 that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the report was very lengthy and comprehensive there were still a lot of facts that were embellished. Other facts such as the fate of W. Trade Tower 7 were completely omitted from the report. There was no thorough investigation into why the buildings collapsed when they were reinforced to withstand the impact of a 747. Why would the people charged with investigating what occurred on this dreadful day not tell the whole story? To answer this question we need to understand who stood to benefit from an attack on American soil. Was it Al Qaeda or the Taliban whose homes were bombed and who lost control of their very lucrative poppy fields? Or was it the defense contractors who stood to make billions if not trillions from the war that would come? As John Farmer, senior counsel to the 9/11 Commission and now dean of Rutgers Law School, said that at the beginning of the investigation, the commission discovered that what had occurred that morning that is, what government and military officials had told Congress, the Commission, the media, and the public about who knew what when was almost entirely, and inexplicably, untrue.....At some level of the government, at some point in time ... there was a decision not to tell the truth about what happened (Ridgeway). There is no need to look for crazy conspiracy theories because the conspiracy is right in front of our eyes, and the people responsible are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The purpose of this paper is to examine different ways of using CBT in treating anxiety disorder. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most used approach in treating anxiety and depression. There are different styles of CBT that are used to treat different subtypes of anxieties. However, the main focus of this paper will be about incorporating different intervention programs to CBT to treat Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). According to DSM V, anxiety disorders include disorders that share features of excessive fear and anxiety and related behavioral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Consequently, it is important to carefully follow diagnostic features provided in DSM V for each type of anxiety disorder in order to avoid misdiagnose. In the United States, 18.1% of the adult population suffers from different anxiety disorders, and lifetime prevalence of GAD is among 5.7% of those adults (Kessler, 2005). The main feature of (GAD) is characterized by excessive anxiety and worry (apprehensive expectation) about a number of events or activities (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Individuals, who are diagnosed with GAD, often have worrisome thoughts that are hard to control which inhibits them from concentrating on everyday tasks. To distinguish GAD from nonpathological anxiety, it is important to keep in mind several features. The worries associated with GAD are excessive and problematic for psychical functioning, more pervasive, pronounced and distressing, and are accompanied by physical symptoms (e.g., restlessness) (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). It is important to note that symptoms of GAD can be misunderstood for different reasons. Risk and prognostic factors can be temperamental, environmental, and genetic and physiological, additionally, cultural factors in the expression of GAD also need to be considered. Given the information above about GAD, it can be concluded that it is important to have treatment for such disorder in order to help individuals have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A review of existing literature on the subject matter will be done in view of providing an explanation on the subject. The focus will be on theoretical frameworks that explore the issue of labor force performance in relation to pay and incentives. The hypothesis guiding this investigation is that 1) better pay improves performance, 2) better pay reduces the rate of turnover, 3) that a good incentive and reward system improves worker s motivation and loyalty to the company , and 4) pay could take any form or be substituted for leisure, less work hours or rewards. The findings will be used to analyze various companies in Singapore, while at the same time showcasing the value of the concepts discussed and possible problems that could arise. I Completely Understand Why You Are Dear Mom and Dad, I completely understand why you are concerned about my use of marijuana not only for the well being of this family but also for my own health and future. I definitely understand your concerns, but you need to understand that you grew up in a completely different generation than me. Marijuana use is very common now days not only in The United States but all around the world. Many people who you interact with every day have at one point in their lives or even currently smoke marijuana, yet they are still able support their families, have a steady job, and even in my situation get a good education. Now I understand that the two of you believe that marijuana is a gateway drug but I have done excessive research and I can assure you that it is in in no shape or form a gateway drug . The gateway theory argues that because heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine users often used marijuana before graduating to harder drugs, it must be a gateway to harder drug use. The theory implies that there is a causal mechanism that biologically sensitizes drug users, making them more willing to try and more desirous of harder drugs. Yet the gateway hypothesis doesn t make sense to those who use marijuana or have used in the past. Research shows that the vast majority of marijuana users do not go on to use hard drugs. Many users compare their daily cannabis habit with dependency on caffeine. The UK Department of Health say Cannabis is a weakly addictive drug but does induce dependence in a significant minority of heavy users. If you are a regular cannabis smoker (every day) and you stop smoking, you will experience some of the following withdrawal symptoms: restlessness, irritability, mild agitation, insomnia, nausea, sleep disturbance, sweats, and intense dreams. These symptoms, however, are mild and short lived, lasting 2 to 4 days. With such negligible withdrawal symptoms, it is not surprising that quitting marijuana is so easy, especially for someone with very strong will power, such as myself. ... All three stories were published in the 1890 s and all shared a similar theme which was related to the time period. Comparing and contrasting the stories maintain and vary from each other on components such as the theme, setting, and main characters which will be scrutinized in the following. The story A Pair of Silk Stockings consists of the Mrs. Sommers, the main character, receives fifteen dollars and decides to go spend the money on clothing for her children. The most extreme studies on each dimension were used as end points and provided a reference for the other studies. Studies in the left hand quadrants provided a thorough review of two or more characteristics, whereas studies positioned in the right hand quadrant provided a more superficial coverage of product/service characteristics and then concentrated on another aspect of services marketing. • 9. Single Mothers Are Not The Problem By Ryan M. Society, as a whole, tends to look at the world with a set of judgmental eyes. Sometimes, this judgement is blatantly obvious. Other times, it is not. However, it is always there, hidden in the way we live our lives. This is because over time society has managed to ingrain into us an almost utopian set of ideals, meant to force us into a state of normality ideals that we, as humans, are expected to follow. If we conform to these standards then we pass the test and are considered normal. On the other hand, if we deviate from those standards, we fail and are considered deviant. Concepts such as gender socialization, cultural norms, stereotypes, and social status are all used by society to assess our level of deviance. If found to be deviant, society seeks to isolate the abnormality from the normal population in an effort to prevent further corruption. Thus, the notion of stigma is born. ... Nevertheless, in an article called Single Mothers Are Not the Problem by David Brady, Ryan M. Finnigan, and Sabine Hübgen of The New York Times, this stigma is challenged (2018). This article, which disputes the popular belief that single mothers are a major cause of poverty rates in the United States, also brings to mind the overall social class system in the country, a subject that is thoroughly discussed in chapter eight of the text, Essentials of Sociology: A Down to Earth Approach (Henslin, ... Consequently, I arrived about a half hour into the concert. Of course I didn t know this at the time. I simply thought everyone had gotten there early so they started a bit before the time the website had posted. I was soon told by another classmate that I was in fact very late. But, what I did hear of the concert surprised me. The songs performed by the Jazz ensemble were Time Check arranged by Don Menza. L il Basie by Mike Carubia. Blue ... Especially, when the band was in full swing and really feeling the music. Like I said it didn t sound bad it was just loud and I was even sitting towards the back of the room. So I could only imagine how blown away literally the front row was. The set itself was simple and to the point. It was held at the Musco Technology Center also known as the MTC. The room was for a more intimate audience you could see by looking around that people were having a good time. For the most part it looked like it mostly brought out an older crowd as do most production in this town. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 70. There are a few reasons why this view struggles to adequately explain the prophecy of the seventy weeks. The actual time span of the week varies between the time periods. If God was trying to reveal anything to Daniel about when these things would take place than a good assumption would be that the weeks would be similar in scope of time. Another issue that would have to be addressed by proponents of this view is how the first advent of Christ solves everything that is to take place in verse 24 of Daniel 9. The last thing that needs to be answered is why does the destruction of Jerusalem take place before the sixty nine weeks if it is clearly lined out in the prophecy to be after the sixty nine weeks? (verse 26) The Covenantal View The covenantal view is a view that also holds that the time periods are symbolic. This view also begins at the decree given by Cyrus in Ezra 1 after the 70 year captivity around 538 B.C. It has sixty nine weeks from that date leading up to the death of Christ around 33 A.D. at which point the seventieth week kicks off and continues until the apocalypse. This view has serious issues with the periods of time not being equal. The last week for instance has lasted for the previous 2000 years and is continuing through the present time. The sixty nine weeks from the decree of Cyrus to the death of Christ equal about eight years per week. The strength of this view is that it is trying to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Modernity should not be equipped with the social, political, economic, and technological transformation which began in the seventeenth century and continued well into the twentieth century. Rather, it must be understood at the attitudes towards whose changes. Modernity has been variously described as: a slow transformation and re evaluation of our relationship with the past; a complete break from the past; a celebration of the chaos brought about by technological changes in industry, transportation and communication; a loss of tradition and home; a project of modernization and progress towards a better world; and a permanent state of transformation and change. Modern architecture is defined as a term used to describe simplified and unornamented building styles of the late 19th and 20th century, as a reaction towards the design of excesses to the design excesses of the Victorian and Edwardian period. Qualities of this style consist of being inspired by the machine aesthetics. • 21. A Separate Peace, by John Knowles Essay People frequently betray others because of the evil in their hearts. In A Separate Peace, John Knowles uses the pureness of the rakish Finny to portray the savage or bad side of the vulpine Gene. He also uses it to prove that peace is exceedingly difficult to acquire until a person accepts the ignorance in their own heart. That means that acceptance is the key to finding peace. Thus, Gene finds his peace when Finny forgives him and when Gene learns to forgive himself as well. Gene assumes that Finny and he despise each other, until he becomes aware of how flawless Finny really is, which Gene loathes. Initially, Gene concludes that Finny wants to surpass him. By carrying out such a crude act, Gene depletes his purity, as well as his envy. Finny, naturally, does not blame Gene and strives to create verisimilitude . Gene tries to tell Finny about the accident and even tries to accuse himself, but Finny refrains to listen. When Brinker questions Gene in the Butt Room, Gene equivocates and attempts to bury his tracks with sarcasm. Gene guards his secret from himself, as well as others. He, like most people, does not want to recognize the reality and wants to eschew it. Ultimately, Gene acknowledges to himself what he has done and accepts that, there was always something deadly lurking in anything I wanted, anything I loved. And if it wasn t then, for example with Phineas, then I put it there myself (Knowles 101). Gene realizes the bad in his heart and it scares him. He shows how a person can destroy and that person must remove sin in order to accomplish a separate peace. Gene advances by gaining knowledge from Finny and matures from his experiences. • 31. Louis Riel A Hero Louis Riel, a controversial man who ponders around Canada s mind judgement today, some may call him a traitor but for the most in fact he was a hero. He was one of the founding fathers that embraced and shaped our country to what we are today and not only that, he was a fighter that stood up for what he believed in and what he knew was best for the people because simply he cared about them. Although, at times his reasons were faulty, his selfless acts were far more recognizable than his prevailing mistakes that led him to execution in 1885 as he was judged guilty of alleged accusations of an unfair court of whom did not favour him. As a leader of the Metis and the Red River territory, following the footsteps of his father, he came back ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Rice Paddies And Bologn Malcom Gladwell s Broad... Rice Paddies and Bologna: Gladwell s Broad Generalizations of Success In Malcom Gladwell s Outliers, Gladwell defines success as hidden advantages and social predestination as stated by critic Michiko Kakutani. Kakutani argues that Gladwell s hypotheses are not cohesive and are selective to support his idea. I concur with Kakutani. Gladwell does not provide adequate examples and counterarguments to give his theory a concrete foundation. This creates a very unconvincing argument. Gladwell asserts that success comes from factors and advantages that are mostly overlooked such as birth dates and cultural backgrounds; however, his ideas are loosely based, overly generalized, and unreliable. Now, with technology advancing at the same rate as society matures and changes, success is a concept that can be different to many different groups of people. Gladwell insists that success is formulated through a series of hidden advantages and cultural legacies that are fixed, therefore that s why many do not become successful. I simply do not feel that is the case. Success is achieved through ambition and hard work that is instilled in you. Anyone has the power to take matters into their own hands and create their own success. Gladwell used many anecdotes and stories to push his hypotheses. An example would be the two chapters titled The Trouble with Geniuses Part One and The Trouble With Geniuses Part Two . In these chapters, Gladwell introduces Chris Langan, a man with an IQ higher ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
